Unbelievable phone. My very first smartphone which had a huge 3500mAh battery at that time (2012) and removable battery too! After 4 years of daily use (I love its FM radio that doesn't need headphones to play out FM stations daily via loudspeaker), the battery became swollen/bloated. Guess what? Third party battery replacements are very much available even until now, more than 5 years after the phone has been released so bought one for less than $10 and now, the phone is functional again. Amazing because it is now going towards its 6th year! The 3rd party removable battery saved it. The only downside is its lack of storage space having only 4GB internal memory which is not enough for Google apps which cannot be movedbto sd card at all. But even then, more than worth the investment.

finally replacing my rock solid p770 after 3.5yrs.. phone has internal memory drawback and gps is a failure.. but the sturdiness is amazing.. it felt many times on hard roads but it looks perfect without a crack or scratch..Thanks P770 for your amazing service and battery.. i didnt get a need to replace battery :)

Did you try restarting the phone? If you already did, then try to "forget" the access point and connect it again as a new access point.

I assume that you have got a Windows PC. Just connect using data cable and it should work seamlessly. If it prompts you to install the driver, then do so. Btw, all micro usb cables wont work for data transfer (especially those coming with power banks). You have to use the datacable which came this phone or buy a new one.

Been using it for 2 and a half years and no major issues. Battery still in perfect condition. There was 'memory full' problem recently but I reset the phone and the problem is gone. Works like new phone again.

The P770 does not have the most ideal power button place and it cannot use apps like Llama (an app that automatically changes your profile depending on which location you assign it to change). It also has no magnemometer, therefore you cannot download a compass app.

Is your problem solve, if no you may check these. fisrt screen protector, change a reasonable one. Second, screen you screen with a cloth(best those use for glasses). If these don't work, think your touch sceen is giving you problem. My is coming to 3 year old, have such problem, but aftet i change away to screen protector, it back to normal. Now on and off, i clean up the proctect to make it clean.

Hi! I have been using the lenovo P770 for a year now and it's going for 2 years this august. I have a problem here, My screen suddenly moves on it's own when ever I tried to wake my phone up from sleep. I tried soft and hard formatting which I learned today but still has the same problem. the notification drawer always goes down then my screen will hang. but whenever I wake it up, sometimes the screen is jumpy, the notification drawer too, and when ever I touch the unlock button, it doesn't respond. phone is so cool with many advantages and its main merit is its battery life bcoz no other mobile has such a duration of battery backup upto my knowledge. camera is too fine. demerits of phone from my experience - 1.GPS is too slow to catch up and its not that much accurate. 2. mannual buttons(volume and stand-by) troubles me a lot, it seems like it is broken. 3. sometimes it makes trouble in menu during a call. all the above - there is no firmware update...!!

worst service from lonovo. no technical person available at service center. I am roaming around service center since one month as my mobile ear piece in not working properly. they are saying to replace the speaker at that time only they will verify the problem. I agreed. still agree one month they are saying not received the part. this is my second experience with lenovo. earlier my friend suffered with the worst service and finally taken legal assistance to clear. in one word great phone with worst service.

For all the people ,who has a issue with Power button, 1.Install Android terminal application from play store 2.Open the application ,from the menu,take the wake lock 3.Press the Home button,so application goes to background. May be your battery time will be bit reduced,but you can use the volume keys to wake the device going further!!!

At first it all went well. After the warranty period is over, i got issues one by one. first issue was a white spot on screen, which i ignored. second issue was the GPS didnt show the right location, it was accurate only to 500 mtrs. third issue was with the standby button, which had to be pressed hardddder, it was so annoying. fourth issue was the voice quality, which started fading, everyone speaking to me started complaining. fifth issue is with the touch screen which didnt respond well, it has started behaving erratically. i could not attend the call, type a message, nothing..... pls donot buy this worthless piece of s**t...

Been using this P770 phone almost 7 months. No issues. Battery is damm good able to last almost 3 days. Able to play 720p videos. Best of all u may listen to radio without even plug in the earpiece. Only memory is bit low n camera a bit down turn but the rest is OK. I got A3000 ideal tab doin good. Also got A850 totally great with games. I juz really love Lenovo phones. Cheap n good worth the money.

I guess your battery has some issues. Generally on active mode with 1 SIM on and no calls,consumption is in the tune of 1%/hr.

Go for xperia L if you want good internal memory and premium product with service centres. Also got good camera performance. You won't get above things in P770. But comes with excellent battery life. OTG support. higher display..

I was using I phone3GS, and now I have been using Lenovo p770. The biggest advantage is that the battery lasts really long. It can be up to 3days. The disadvantage I feel is the storage is pretty limited, so you might wanna buy micro sd-card. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with Lenovo p770.

I just want to inquire about the setting process of receiving call from both the SIM's at the same time. When i am on a call in SIM1 then the SIM2 shows not reachable. Is there any phone setting which allows the the calls from SIM2 to redirect in SIM1 like the samsung phone has. I am not asking about the call divert option from network provider. Yup there were some issues with versions up to s110 of this phone but almost all have been ironed out after s113 update. This is for European and world version of firmware. Not sure if you are using this or Chinese version. I suggest people to go to lewa os homepage and install the latest version of stable os5.

Hey first off please stop embarrassing all the other users of this great phone. I went through your post and seriously none of the issues mentioned by you are universal. it looks like there is something wrong with your particular handset. I am here to help you out. Before we start off let us know about your existing firmware. Just make a note of these things. 1. Custom rom is the way to go. I am using Android 4.2.2 version custom rom on my phone and never had any issues with camera or video player. 2. Camera is far better then most other phones in same price category. 3. Battery lasts well over 2 days with normal usage. 4. Agreed bundled headphones are useless but still okay for casual listeners. 5. Use the gps. Configuration file from lewa rom. Search for it and install it before making any serious comments and comparing this business phone with your 12 yr old cousins phone. I use sygic maps for navigation and satellite fix hardly takes 10 seconds. 6. Upgrade your modem to p15 version. That's the latest and fastest available as of now.

Yeah I faced same problem what you are having. I rooted my phone for repartition of internal memory and converted it to 3 GB. I'm using Lewa rom currently. I think it's best. I have PowerAmp for music and never faced any issue. My battery goes through one day after heavy use. All I can say I'm happy with my phone but after having rooted my phone. I don't use GPS much.

i remember, i was the one who posted all praise about Lenovo 770 just after 10 - 15 of my purchase. However, with time i realized that it was my biggest mistake ever.... Even cheaper phones in the market than this have a brilliant GPS marker and excellent sound quality of music, while using the headset or earphones, due to digital multi-track decoder.. the only and best thing about this phone is its 3500 mh battery (i guess its 3400).. however, it has been about six months and now even the battery has started showing me bad moments.. In numerous forums across the internet I have found people advising about gps.config file modification or installing a gps fix app in order to improve the GPS marking time. However, the fact is that the improvement is just about 2 % and sometimes not even that. Don�t me about sound... if at all you�re buying this phone in a hope of having a good sound output then you are doing a big mistake. The first problem I noticed was that once you tab the play icon the song stops after 0.20 secs by itself. It keeps doing that for about your 10 - 20 tries and then when it starts playing you will find the sound to be too low... trust me... it is about 100 steps ahead of your frustration level. no damn app has ever been able to fix this prob... the moment you raise the digital amply by a point the sound starts cracking, causing more frustration... Besides these two problems, there are few more...the design is extremely against the science of friction between your hand and the phone...it is very slippery and doesn�t provide any grip on the phone.. No about the space..as they have mentioned is the spec everywhere about the phone having 4 GB of inbuilt space. It is a fooling stuff.. only 2 gbs out of 4 can be used for installing the apps... and it gets full right after you have installed the essential stuffs for which you might have bought it..(in my case, it started throwing space alert right after i downloaded Subway surfers, Temple Run, Google+, Facebook, Twitter and MX player). Its pre installed stuffs are all stupid and crap like the Video player which sometimes breaks down while playing the most common video formats...It has got very few service centers, and on top of it, all located at the distance that is least accessible... i feel embarrassed when my 12 yr old niece opens the gmap in her smart phone of a lame brand which is not even known to many of us, and her GPS marks her location immediately within half of a second.. no matter even if she is sitting in the living room at home, away from the window..

Yes! Lenovo has stopped the production of P770 as it has many issues. I bought one and it worked fine for 2 months. One day early morning I connect my mobile to charger and it doesn't show any sign of getting charged which led me to land up in service centre. The guy asked me to wait for 20 days and after a lot of patience and hope I get to hear that I am offered to replace my mobile and get a new one. Boooooom!!! They do not have a new handset of the same model as its production is stopped. On frowning the guy said that I can select any other mobile.... Voila!!! My breath came to normal and I bought P780 adding some cash.

I am using this mobile last 3 days. Its really awesome. Performance is best, battery backup is amazing. Since Lenovo is one of the competitor in computer manufacture from many years, I believe the mobile quality is also best. High end games can be played smoothly. Earphones are of average quality as well camera. Camera works well in good light. Volume is high. Don't know why some says volume is low. Soundquality is also best for music. Display is too good. Overall by considering its hardware configuration, its price and performance I rate 9/10.

The Phone will become a powerhouse after installation of custom rom. For rooting and flashing, please go through xdadevelopers website. There are roms available which are based on latest 4.2.2. I have rooted and flashed my p770 and installed 4.2.2 custom rom. The battery life is awesome. After using for twodays with moderate no of calls, sms and gmail, my battery is still showing 50% left. I am not facing any issues in the performance of the phone

Don't go by the battery capacity alone. If your battery depletion rate is more it nullifies the capacity advantage. In the airplane more it is 0.4%/hr. But when active,difficult to baseline it somebody runs with dual sim,somebody with WIFI,BT or GPRS and also application which prevents the CPU from going to deep sleep.

I have observed following problems on P770 model. 1) Network goes OFF for unknown reasons. (both SIM) 2) Ringtone changes/ malfunctions 3) Bluetooth malfunctions (does not switch ON & sometimes needs to reboot multiple times) 4) General: Lags after sales support & as of now it is poor. I got the OS reload,but, still the problem exists. Updates not available. Also, 24 hours battery is too less for mobile data connection. Is your brightness set to full ? ********************* I think I'd rather stay away if navigation too doesn't work properly as it requires that the applicaiton tells you (audio) "go straight until this .. then turn right " etc kind of driving instructions. Hi Everyone, I have been using P770 for more than a week now. Its a good phone as far as performance is concern. Over all a good phone. Details: 1. Screen resolution is pretty cool. 2. Sound quality is good. 3. Speaker is good & earphone provided along is also good (not as bad as few users have been complaining about). 4. Applications (not all but most of them) can be easily moved to SD card. 5. Camera quality is good if we compare it with other 5 MP cameras (No issue of flash as is said by many users) 6. Phone looks very good and superior and is sturdy. 7. Very good build quality. 8. Disappointed a bit with Battery. ( I have been using Xolo Q700 for around 6 mths which has battery of 2400 MaH, it use to last me easily for one and half day (1 & 1/2 day). However with almost similar usage P770 also lasts me for the same one and half day. Considering the fact that P770 has 3500 MaH battery I personally expected it to last for atleast 2 to 2 and half day, as there has been almost no change in my usage pattern (which is around 45 mins of Whats app, 20-30 mins of Call, 15-20 mins of gaming & 10 mins of video. Constant active 2G data connection) Please suggest any change which might help in getting more juice from battery

I have used it for 2 weeks and it works perfectly. Screen resolution is better than my old Samsung Galaxy S2, battery power last more than 24 hour in 3G network. I myself used internet extensively during office hour and when I get back home, I still have 40% available. For gaming, I would say it is enough but FIFA12 game screen looks strange when I play in this gadget. Hey, I faced the same difficulty with my idea 3g sim card but my 18 days hard work paid well and now my internet works perfectly fine. All you have to do is: Remove the sim card, memory card, reset to factory settings ...bottom line the handset should be absolutely blank..then insert the sim card you will get few pages of set up read the instructions carefully, select the correct options before going to the next page. Choosing correct instructions are the only key to get the internet connectivity for your phone. I did this and it worked for me..hope it works for you too.

hi ameya..i'm using the phone since 1 week now..quite happy so far..reply to your queries.. 1.Does battery really lasts for couple of days?- For your reference, I leave for work at 8am with 100% batt..a normal work day has total 90-120 mins of calling, constant updates (facebook, whatsapp, viber etc)..music for 30mins..720p videos for 30mins (using mx player)..20-25 sms..8-10 mails on gmail..at 10pm the batt is still at 35-40%..can easily last for 1.5days..if you turn off data it will last you all day the next day..the important thing you should consider is the peace of mind knowing that you wont need a charger till midnight..that's actually enough for most individuals..1 day or 2 days or 3 days..those are just numbers..no person will ever be without access to charging for 3 days, will they ever? 2.Did anyone face issues contacting/communicating with service center?- No reason to call them yet.. 3.Also just heard about p780 , so should I wait for P780 or go for p770 right away? what do you suggest?- the P780 is even better in terms of specs (quadcore processor, 720p screen & 500mAh extra on batt power)..however you should question your need versus the money you will pay..are you ready to pay approx 10k more for these features? unless you are a gamer..or a audio video connoisseur..it wont matter so much.. another thing..the P780 is yet to hit stores..

You need to buy a 3.5mm adapter for headphones with microphone to work because TRRS standard used for Lenovo is different from headphones manufacturer.

I had faced similar issues. 1) I too have tried multiple headsets but found not comparable with lenovo. Please try earphones (ones without mic) with standard jack. Music getting played only for 3 seconds is due to incompatible headsets. 2) Getting noise with music (actually noise only) happened after some software updates. Please try moving fresh copy of songs and re scan. It worked for me.

Hi, I am using Lenovo smartphone P770, In which i am facing a problem with headphones. I mean it is not supports other brand headphones like HTC, SONY, APPLE & SAMSUNG except Lenovo & Nokia headphones rest of all branded headphones are not supported. Problems: 1. It is really weird to find out this 'out of network' connectivity issue on sim 2 for this device. However mine even wiz single sim , hv once encountered 'no network' connectivity wiz network status bar not showing any signal at all. it is like entering 'airplane' mode but there is NO blue 'airplane' shown on the status bar. I'm subsribing '3G' internet unlimited data plan wiz call, when i was entering the area where there is no '3G' signal but only '2G'signal available and suddenly unable to make or received any call wiz no signal bar shown on status bar. I only managed to recover the signal bar when i disable the 'GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)' by selecting 'GSM only' mode. It also depends on what telco provider package u hv subscribe and the type either '2G' or '3G' signal and signal strength availability on your area affected, not only the phone to blame here. The details on how to change this network setting already explained in this 'read opinion' column previously. Hope this will help.

i purchased the lenovo p770 some days back. Though its a fantastic phone, am facing some serious with the network connectivity. Am using two sims as the phone supports but one sim is always in 'Airplane' mode. Moreover, though one sim will show full n/w connectivity(on the display) but actually it will be out of reach for others and when i try to call, it will just show that its dialling. Thanks Sooraj Yes these are GPS only apps that give you a faster locking on GPS. I dont use google maps and so i never need gps locking..i have a lumia i use it for navigation...u can use GPS test or some other app for the func.... lenovo has recently launched k900 and p780...u can try them as well....

Just like someone mentioned previously, like to throw away this device since it's GPS is not functioning. Patient needed. Trust me, the GPS will logged on under 1 minute, or normally under 4 minutes which usually achievable when no high rise building surrounding, much better with cloudless sky or much open area. I have tried it while in a moving car, and itt is still able to get a logged on. The trick is, the 'inViu GPS' apps which i have installed required to be switched on first, before or while using navigation apps like 'Waze' or 'google maps'. Indication of blue or yellow bars for the GPS signal strength, together with a beeping sound if u are using 'Waze' is a confirmed GPS logged on. Just toggle between maps or navigation function and 'inViu GPS' apps if u want to check your GPS signal is still there. A GPS or assisted GPS feature for this device only to speed up the GPS signal logged on and won't able to do any navigational function.

Called Lenovo Customer Care today, and they have officially stated that p770 does not has a GPS, but only A-GPS. In fact there website no where mentions that it has a GPS. I request GSM Arena to remove this misleading information from product specifications.

Front camera is not what u would like to use for video chats..considering price its acceptable 5. GPS Locking is very slow u can not get a lock in a moving car my Lumia was awesome in that 6. When u connect phone to computer at times ur playlists get auto flushed to Zero Songs. Sir, Not sure why your comments are bised towards P770 About display ,both are IPS LCD and Canvas HD is bigger also . About the CPU ,even though it's ARM A7 compared to the A9 of levovo the total number of cores ,certinly outperforms the P770. About the battery ,more than which is more capacity ,it's question of which one consumes more battery/hour- I mean if canvas HD is consuming 10mah/hour and P770 is consuming 20mah/hour ,then the battery capacity is nullified !!!( point is not an apple to apple comparison!!!)

Ask me Am I happy? I dont know. i bought it through snapdeal and got it on 29th may. now its just over a month. Battery remains for a day, but not much as two days as lot posts said about it. Its getting heated on top area ( antenna / earphone / camera area ) when using 2G/3G. camera is just fine, but flash timing is bit bad i guess. This phone impressed me when searching for one, given its bulky and not that heavily featured. But i really had trust on it. battery life and durability is what i needed and a hint of smartphone. but looking back, i am unhappy. battery and heating issue is eating my mood out. service centre is 7hr train journey away and i dont think they would just replace it on its heating issue / battery not impressive as boasted issue. Waiting it to perform, as i wont afford to buy another one :(

I hv no problem wiz the camera & no lagging of flash noted. Works fine so far. Video recording also okay, though sometimes it will struggle to focus on the object we are trying to shoot and the worst thing is NO zooming function available while recording the video.

GPS acquisition for this device is not so good compared wiz other device like samsung galaxy S4, due to lack of sensors such as compass or magnetometer and gyro. Try download 'inViu GPS' apps from google playstore, to monitor your gps signal acquisition signal bar when turning on your GPS. GPS signal logged on indicated by blue or yellow bars. Logged on will be much quicker wiz NO high rise building surround, stationary, cloudless sky, and 'data connection' switched on. it will logged on in less then 1 minute or the worst under 4 minutes. Ignore this rule and u will never ever get a log on.

Buy this secondhand mobile, this is same Motorola driod raze 3300 mah, only one diff 5 MP@ 8MP. P770 is super double battery.for games no heavy games like deadtrigger ,temp2 , but meadium are best. Touch are very smooth. Screen britness is good.

It lasted me the longest, 78 Hours (Almost Exclusively on Calls/SMS), 48 Hours (Wifi/Music - Moderate usage), 24 Hours (Heavy Internet / Music / Gaming) But now I traveled to another country, I had to buy myself another SIM, To save cost on international Calls, I often use my SIM on Internet 3G/HSDPA almost 20 Hours a day. Well Battery usage seems to have gone down. Now I'm averaging in the 16 ~ 20 Hour per day usage on my phone. Depending on how often I am online, But I rarely go offline. The Bad, I can't make the GPS work, it seems that the GPS sensor is faulty or not working on this device, which btw, have put me in trouble a couple of times when I get lost in a foreign country.

Mine device has not got such problems..google,Play store is already installed...and youtube videos works just fine as i have an wifi connection at my home.Also when you run videos at 2g speed..it will run slow with buffering...it is with all devices with 2g internet pack...so dont worry about it.

Just go and buy lenovo p770 without any 2nd thoughts because of following reasons. 1. s advance has got only 4 inches screen and it has wvga resolution..that is not very good and also it has very average battery life..ie just 1500 map as compare to monstrous 3500 mamp battery 2. dont ever fall in the trap of buying canvas a116 because the hardware that micromax use is very cheap and it is cortex a5 which is nearly equal to cortex a9 dual core of lenovo p770.and u have to charge a116 2 times a day because it is having very pathetic battery life..and it is very big in size...i mean really big...holding such a big device looks crap in ones hands. lenovo p770 is a beast of a smartphone which has got looks,style,power and performance.

I can say about lenovo p770 vs micromax canvas hd lenovo has better sound ,better after sales service , and far far better battery life than micromax. moreover it has direct usb support via otg cable..not available in micromax Micromax has slightly better display,better camera as far as day to day performance(speed) is concerned there is no difference between the two but if u play highend games on papers micromax should perform better since its quadcore. Micromax also looks better than lenovo. still i ll suggest u to go for lenovo..because without a good battery life all other features are useless..... its very irritating to charge your mobile every 8hours

#Using it for three days now. Battery haven't impressed me yet. Fulcharge started to discharge within a five minute of GPRS. Even today morning started with 95% and within one hour and very few minutes of gprs its 89%.88 while typing this. Really wanted this set to perform well on battery side. Fingers crossed. Liked it overall. Smooth touch experience. Batter-yet to feel its full strength as yest it drained to 15% by evening 7pm from full charge at 0600am. But I was on WiFi/GPRS all the time, ie 13hrs. Plus few phone calls. So a bit tensed whether its normal and the battery beast really got muscle.music n loudspeaker is fine. Not a master though. Earphone on phone is not that loud during calls . May create trouble when in outdoor. Phone memory was divided into internal(2gb ) and USB-2gb again. Free space in former is low. Internet is fast and smooth. GPS takes time to lock in indoors.a bit bulky but not a issue. camera is just OK OK. Design is more professional than stylish. Battery reliability and performance is what I look for.

The Phone is just great have been using the phone more than a month now and extremely pleased with the phone. The battery is just great, the lowest I could get the battery down is 40 % on very high usage, for normal use should last about 3 days. Most of the apps work fine with Lenovo P770, the only drawback is covers are not available had to order on aliexpress (china). Very fast, sound is good even the earpiece which every body criticized is good maybe plastic look but good sound. another drawback some may find is thickness of the phone. But Ok with me. I am from Goa/ India and there is a service center in Panjim.

This P770 phone GPS is sucks. I mean, it really sucks. It takes ages to get it's first log on to the GPS signal which is usable for navigation. The lenovo people shud know that the users who lost on their way to their destination won't have to wait for 20 minutes or more for this phone be helpful. I don't have any problem using Nokia x6 phone previously with it's GPS function. Please consider before buying this phone, if u care about it's GPS functionality. Furthermore for this P770 lenovo phone u have to really straining your eyes, coz all the letter & wording size is so small. Not recommended for shortsighted people. Otherwise, it's battery capacity is great .

Got my fone yesturday. from Infibeam.com For the first time(factory charged) bettery drain very soon. but after charging it full (99%) it working fine. But not as lenovo claimed, it remains more than 24hrs with full use gaming, downloading, Wifi etc. no problem with, GPS is very good, same like other GPS. Internal storage is 600MB/1.8 GB for users (andriod OS uses 1.2 GB). USB Storage is 2 GB. Extral SD Storage (user's sd card). Ram 900 MB (Good). Smooth in working. sound quality is good (didnt check earphones) OGT Cable is very easy to use. you can ask me if any one have query...!!!!

Hello.. I just bought this phone last week afer reading some favourable reviews here. I usually switch off my phone at night times, today morning when I tried to switch it on, it just wouldn't open. I began to panic as to why it isn't switching on, although it kept on showing Lenovo name on the screen & the screen light was on. Finally after 3 hrs. A-gps means assisted GPS....its better than normal GPS....even Nokia has a-gps...it means phone uses both network and GPS to have position lock...it can be switched off also

actually using dual sim reduces the battery life more than using single sim for sure. i have galaxy grand n when i put 2 sim with 100% charge n didnt touch the whole day battery came down to 60% by night.

I do not know what is Zero shutterlag mate. But when i press the shutter button, it immediately grabs the frame. One weird thing is, when we touch the area we want to focus before pressing the shutter release, the flash light goes on to focus....but the most important thing is, it makes an whirring noise like in digital cameras as if something is physically moving. The LG P 500, did not use to make that noise. I do not know that noise is just made by the speaker or a servo mechanism is moving the lens inside!!

Its an amazing phone w.r.t. the pricing. Have been using it for about a week now and I can tell you that except for the music playback, everything is amazing. Planning tobuy a better set of earphones to see if that improves the music quality. The battery easily lasts for about 2 days with the following daily usage pattern: 1-1.5 hrs calls 2hrs games wi-fi for 4hrs gprs for 2 hrs music 2-2.5 hrs videos - 1 hr. I am using a single SIM, its possible that using 2 would reduce the battery backup time significantly. Overall I feel unless you are willing to pay for Galaxy Grand or more, this is the best buy among all Android phones

Poor GPS signal, some time it takes 2 Hrs to fix GPS link.. 2. Phone generate much heat when used extensively with apps and while using maps or navigation with GPS. 3. With phone earpiece speaker, getting a scratchy noice in full volume. beside the above con's i like this phone very much!! Got firmware upgrade "P770_ROW_S113_130424" with 401MB size.. Most of the videos and written reviews I've seen about this phone is that it only has 700mb of free internal memory. If you were able to install asphalt 7, does it mean that you can actually move apps to SD on this phone? If so, does it have to be rooted first? Thanks in advance! Is there anyway to control the audio profiles? The standard meeting profile does not silence message sent audio notification nor vibrate on calls. Is there a way to control individual parameters - ring tone /vibration / email notification / sms notification / alarm in different profile with default program? Had a 401mb OTA firmware upgrade. No difference obvious after the update. Audio volume through speakers is not loud. So people with decreased hearing ability need to avoid this phone.

I would simply say just go for it.I bought it after lot of research and gsm reviews.Thanks gsm for helping me out to buy this phone.Battery is very imp for any phone.Imagine u r gng on a long journey and suddenly ur phone's battery finish,it feels like almost we are lost somewhere.BUt,wt this phone,u will not face such a situation,and u can help others as well to come out of such situation,by charging their phone wt p770 using OTG cable. The only problem i faced is in bright summer sun,it doesnt automatically become bright,but if ur display is full bright,then it is not an issue. Hi. Thanks for the assurance about eeepad. I am also having the eeepad with keyboard dock for the last 18m. About the LG L7 - it has 512mb (vis 1gig with P770) of RAM /ICS (vs JB) OS / Pixel density of 217ppi (vs 245ppi) and a1700mah (vs 3500mah) battery with a rated talk time of about 6h. These are the cons. But Corning gorilla glass (not present in P770) and presence of compass (Not present in P770) is the pros. I would still opt for Lenovo for the price range you are talking about. If you are thinking in the range of L7 specifications- micromax, swipe and a whole bunch of others have for a lesser price range, with similar or better specifications. Not planning to route for now. Dont have the time or necessity. USB card reader, thumb drives work without rooting with the OTG (Some one had asked earlier). BTW survived a two foot fall when i bent forward. Have to be careful when you have it in your shirt pocket :).

I am using this phone for about month and a half. The phone is awesome. I have tested each and every feature that Lenovo states about. The GPS is working well, Battery is working well, Display is Good, Has Dual Sim, Plays Even heavy games very smoothly, USB on the go working (charged another phone as well as connected and transferred data from flash drive). The best phone i can say in below 15000 range. The only problem i found on this phone is its display in the sun...u cant see anything on the screen in the sun...but thats the problem with most of the phones....But this is a very nice phone...

After contemplating and religiously reading all the reviews and youtube videos on this phone, i finally bought it. I had an LG optimus one before (and before that Sendo x / Treo 650 / Treo 300 in that order). Optimus one was good but its battery life had reduced to charging twice a day with no data thro wifi / 3g usage. Replacement batteries were not available. I bought P770 from ebay for Rs 13500. It came in the original pack with a VAT paid bill. The original packing had a user guide of about ten pages...which was totally useless (I had been searching for english user guide through net before and had not found it). The carton noted that the phone had been made in China and had a manufacturing date of March 2013. It had also a list of Service centers in India. I had difficulty in opening the back cover since i was scared i will break it if opened wrongly (there being no user manual). When i put the battery, it showed about 30% charge and the usage counter showed 30h of usage (So the seller had probably used it for 30h). I charged the battery to full...in about 3.5h. It did not come to 100% but stayed at 99% for about 30m and hence removed the charger. Logged in the gmail id and downloaded all the necessary stuff through wifi...no video viewing or MP3 listening or surfing. The battery lasted for 48h when it came to 15%. Single SIM with WIFi on for probably 15h/ no bluetooth or 3g. Project butter makes things really smooth and when i looked for an update, it said mine was the current version...so no software update needed. It comes with three default screens but can be increase up to 9 at the least. (i use two screens for direct dialing frequently called contacts). Light flow which tries to control the indicator lamp to different colors does not work. The indicator lamp has only two colors - Red for charging and solid green for charged. Slow blinking green for missed calls and missed sms. Profile manager does not work ( i tried turning on wifi for 1minute every thirty minutes). Because there is only one physical key, it needs to be pressed each time you have to unlock and that worries me whether it will ruin it in the longer run. (The optimus had three other physical keys which when pressed will turns on the screen for swiping it open). Some one had written about preferred wifi with which it will automatically connect, i did not find any specific option for that. Am i satisfied? Yes. Would i have bought any other phone....may be a Nokia 720...more expensive but has better navigation without data connection and a great battery...but was not too keen for Windows os. At this price range with 1gig RAM and a large battery with Jelly Bean OS, you cannot better P770. ...Micromax, wickedleaks, Swipe all have better specifications EXCEPT battery which i guess is the most important. No use in having a Ferrari, if you cannot go anywhere reliably. Will continue my observations. this is my payback for GSM Arena's members helping me out with their views. if anybody has any queries, i can answer it.

Hi, I bought this phone about a month and a half back. Using it has been absolute joy - great screen, awesome battery life and great touch..Only problem is, it was working as usual till last night. This morning when I woke up, the screen was blank and it didnt turn on. I put it on charge thinking the battery might have completely drained out but even after an hour's charging, the LED won't show that the phone is getting charged (by glowing RED) and the phone hasn't turned on since.. :( Has anyone else faced similar problems? DOnt ever think to buy lg l7 series.. first of all lg l7 is a single core device with an unknown cpu and older gpu... it had less ram ( 512 MB vs 1 GB of lenovo)..single sim vs dual sim and mediocre screen quality..and it always lags in performance.. just go and grab this beast of lenovo...

Almost one month since I am using this phone. Not going in details, let me talk about few things only, 1) Touch, is awesome. I have tested it by playing different games(temple run 1 & 2, subway surf. It's very smooth. 2) Performance, 1.2 ghz processor works pretty well in terms of performance. I opened temple run and then paused it and played subway surf without any problem. Never felt like another resource hungry game is running in background. 3) Battery, after charging it to 100% I played game for 4 hours(subway surf), read pdf books(30 minute), browsing(2 hrs), 2G internet was on for about 6 hours and wifi for about 26 hours, I was sending and receiving messages on whatsapp(around 6 hours), 1.5 hours of calling, FM about 1 hr and GPS was on for about 30 minutes. And after 32 hours, when I plugged-in the charger, the battery was on 8%. 4) Camera, worked ok but needs improvements, some serious improvements. 5) GPS, I have checked its a-GPS capabilities in different geographic locations in India, works like a charm. 6) OTG, have checked it by connecting my pen drive(8gb), worked well.

Personal Hotspot option can be enabled from the inbuilt menu item. No need to go to wireless settings. Just go to menu and look for hotspot shortcut . In that you can enable or disable hotspot.

Tested the GPS of my Lenovo P770. For the first time it took around 5 mins for it to start showing me the actual navigation screen. After that it worked like a charm. I tested it for around 200 KMs continuously and it was quite effective and very accurate. For those who are facing issues with GPS, I would suggest to keep your data connection also ON along with GPS. This actually speeds up the time taken by the location services to notify the proper location. In all I must say a super phone. I am not sure how it can work so well as a GPS device though it doesnt have a Gyro or compass.

Sorry, I don't use the phone to play video but here's syk0's experience with it from his earlier review: MULTIMEDIA :- I use this phone like my laptop-on-the-go. It plays 720p videos fine, but most 1080p videos are a bit jittery. The loudspeaker is not the loudest, but it does its job fine. Screen quality is pretty good, 720p videos look awesome on it.

I guess your phone is taking quite longer to charge . I use the AC adaptor supplied with phone and it doesnt take more than 3-4 hrs to charge completely starting from zero. If you are using USB cable to charge, then it may take longer time as the current through USB port will be lesser than that of AC adaptor.

I don't think that is true for all. i purchased Sony mdr ma100 headphones and it works very nice with my phone.I am able to get super quality music. i also checked with my other in ear type headphones. no issue at all. About USB value also same. I am able to connect with any cable. No issue at all.

if you are going to purchase a headphone, make sure the strips on the actual jock is the same as the lenovo P770 headphone. otherwise it will not work. the strips on each headphone jock varies, apparently.

Overall the phone is ok, display is excellent, battery backup is good but not excellent as it claims, USB pendrive connecting option is good, camera images are ok , somewhat poor, image size is around 600-800 KB, the moment you zoom in PC (computer) it gets blurred, The phone lags a bit when set to best quality in Temple run 2.

In US, 850MHz and 1900MHz are the 2G freq and 850/1900/2100 MHZ are for 3G. Since this phone has only 1900 2G and 2100 3G, it will work very well with T-Mobile, but will have issues with AT&T as Tmobile uses mostly 1900 2G and 2100 3G whereas AT&T uses 850 mostly (with some areas covered under 1900) for 2G and same for 3G. This phone is really for specialized use. It is for those who want a branded phone with very long battery life between charges and it delivers. Previously, I used to be judicious about using my phone because I didn't want the battery running out too fast. I have been using the lenovo P770 for about 1 week now. It is a bargain for the buck with its high spesificafion. There are now significant draw backs. All is good execpt fot the earphones, totally rubbish. And its a bit heavy due to its 3500 mAh batre. Other than that is a good allround. I strongly recomend this phone for people with a tight budget (i bought this for around IDR 2.500.000, thats around $250) who wants the best deal for the price. The LG L7, sonh xperia sola and samsung galaxy ace are in the same price range but there performance are below P770.

Had this phone for two weeks now. Here is my experience... PROs: 1. BATTERY :- With minimal usage, battery lasts almost 4 days......beat that. For heavy usage, it played 720p videos for about 6-8 hours. As for music, it gave me 15-18 hours of music playback while playing lossless flac files, so i'm pretty sure you will get 24 hours if you paly mp3 files. For everyday heavy usage of calling/net/video/music etc, i easily get over one day of backup. 2. DESIGN :- I love the looks of this phone. The pic in gsmarena makes it look stupid. But trust me, this phone looks very smart and professional. This phone is for ppl with class, not show-offs. 3. WEIGHT :- I know, most of you ppl are used to lighter phones. But for me, i'm coming for the heavier Dell Venue Pro, so i find this phone very light. My friend also bought this phone,and felt it was a bit heavy,but got used to it in a couple of days. Also, the phone itself is quite light, ITS THE BATTERY thats heavy. 4. MULTIMEDIA :- I use this phone like my laptop-on-the-go. It plays 720p videos fine, but most 1080p videos are a bit jittery. The loudspeaker is not the loudest, but it does its job fine. Screen quality is pretty good, 720p videos look awesome on it. The supplied earphones are crap, i suggest u gift them to someone u really hate. I bought a Sony XB30EX earphone, and they sound awesome. Volume from the 3.5mm jack is a bit low, but its not too low. Infact, at full volume its perfect for me. But what truly amazes me is the sound quality (which is not the same as loudness). I am an audiophile, i listen to lossless music (90% rock/metal, 10% pop/trance, 0% bollywood/crap) on a Sennheiser HD 518 + FiiO e10 D-A-C on my computer, and i am really satisfied with the sound "quality" of my Lenovo P770 + Sony XB30EX setup. 5. Wifi/GPS/3G :- They work fine for me, no issues at all. GPS sometimes does take a little while to get a fix, but thats a rare occurence. Skype and Video calling works fine too. 6. ANDROID 4.1.1 :- Jelly Bean is awesome. There is a 399 MB update for the phone. I updated over wifi. I have faced no problems. 7. The flash is pretty powerful. 8. I read somewere on the internet that a guy put 64 GB sandisk card in it and it works fine. BTW, i am using it with 32 GB class 6 Kingston card and it works fine. 9. The camera is above average. Videos recorded in 720p are good. 10. PRICE :- I compare this phone to the Galaxy S2, and this is almost half the price. I bought it from Delhi for INR 14500 (including 32 GB memory card). 11. Ita a LENOVO, they make the best laptops on earth (Thinkpads), and have very strict quality standards. CONs: 1. The vibrator could have been stronger. 2. No gorilla glass. But its okay, as i got it laminated. And the gorilla glass on my dell got scratched anyway. 3. No dedicated camera button. 4. The bundled earphones are crap. 5. Because of its huge battery it takes 3 hrs to charge. This phone is the best bang-for-buck currently in the market. I finalised my choice between Lenovo p770 and Lava Xolo A1000, and picked the Lenovo for the battery. I hope this helps u guys make a desicion. I love my P770, and would reccomend it to anyone :)

4 GB is the internal memory out of which about a half is reserved for the OS and only the other half can be used. but u can install a micro SD card to get around this. the RAM is 1 GB.

Hi Gopal, It has no orientation sensor and no Magnetic field sensor. So the compas apps don't work. I don't play games on it but heating problems using wifi. Since the compas isn't there it doesn't show exact location in google maps like an iPhone or ipad. Otherwise this is the best smartphone I've used. And it's cheap. Yesterday i did a full check for the battery. 40 hrs standby with 10 hrs on wifi, 4 hours talk time, data connection always on for Whatsapp and browsing. Worth every paisa I paid. Hi Doc, It records on all formats including Bluetooth. You can record both parties and it's very clear. As far as I've noticed the led is only 2 colours - red and green. Green to show battery charged. Anyway the led is too small to see from a distance. Hope this helps you. Enjoy.

ive been using my P770 for about a month now and i never been so happy with other units i have then compared with this. and mind you, even if it only has a 5megapixel cam it is quite good and take beautiful pictures even at lowlight compare to other cel that has an 8megapixel and dual ledflash. it also has a dualmic and noise cancellation feature.

Its recommended to buy rite now immediately cos after 1st April the prices are expected to rise as an additional 6% tax was imposed on mobile phones in union budget for 2013-2014. also, it is unclear which e-commerce portals will be marketing Lenovo phones. currently there are very few sites which market Lenovo phones but even then the P770 is not marketed online (example- India times shopping). On the other hand, Flipkart (very reliable) in fact does not sell any Lenovo smartphones all together. I bought mine on 25-march-2013 based on these 2 considerations only and also that it is currently very difficulty to get the p770 in Mumbai. Even 3-4 official Lenovo dealers are clueless on its availability in Mumbai.
