This is 3rd years im using this phone. still using until now. currently im replace with new original battery. old battery still can use, but the efficiency can stay about 12h. Bud sadly to say, no more update for android. last kitkat 4.4.2. If can update to lollipop could be better. So far, i'm happy using this phone. compare with durability, stability & perfomance it worth for me. Compare with nowday smartphone, prige range with same 3years old i buy this phone, u cannot get what u excepted. If nowday got 6000mah phone i should consider to buy one. Just trusted brand Lenovo. My oponion apple strong with stable IOS. Lenovo is strong with their battery perfomañce. Asus too many update software & bug dont like it. Anyway just enjoy using lenovo brand. Just buy original the product

SIM insertion slot design is bad. the pins come out and most of the mobile repair shops don';t even agree to repair it. If it is working with anything other than 4g don;t touch it otherwise you curse

Great phone since 1.6 year of use. long life battery for 1 and half day on use of 3G. fast and nice, even on business use. Just when you have 2 sim cards on and open your 3G, second card stops operating, if you start a call.

Hopeless model-bought in May 14-three times repair-very poor SERVICE CENTRE with inadequate staff, arrogant response by staff. SERVICE CENTRE opined replacement of CIRCUIT BOARD@7000/-. Frequent hangup, signal variation, android system failure, contact manager not responding are the frequent problems. Servicing done at authorised centre on 25.02.16 and again the above problems within 3 weeks. FED UP and planning to go for new one of any other brand. DONT BUY this model. I have the same problem it hangs up and overheated. If I tried to switch off but it will just automatically switch on again. If I try to switch off again, it takes a lot of pushing, and still gets back to switch on again....This is a gift of my daughter bought from Thailand and unfortunately. Many have the same problem. No good! I hope nobody will buy that phone anymore.

Nothing is wrong with this phone. Battery life is excellent, I flashed stock android kitkat (aosp) on this phone, fantastic. lasts 2 days medium-heavy usage, decent rear camera, ok front camera, I have had this phone for 11 months now, it fell face flat on concrete once, screen cracked up as any phone in its class would, ordered replacememt screen on amazon and ordered a leather case as well so it wouldnt happen again, got screen replaced at repair store, phone is of good build quality metal cover and hard plastic frame. Dont mine bad reviews, doesnt have fancy features like finger print scanner but it gets the job done with great hardware specs. If you are like a business type or any type of person for that matter then this is the phone for you, very professional

Before my p780 it great phone, battery awesome, signal good, perfomance great, camera good,desain i like it, display ok, but... after 14 month used it... my p780 just got suddenly over heat with extrem hot, its happen twice, 1st time when its not used at all, 2nd when i watched youtube just with 20 minute used. after the 2nd one, my p780 just got weak signal, but others function just normal.. and its not gurantee anymore ( i used for 14 month ), so i bring to repair service ( not official service center ) , more than 15 repair service refused to fix it, because they said it cant not be repair... any help or idea friends ? because i see in others forum some user have some problem to, even if they bring it to official service center, still can not be fix it...

Guys facing the network problem dont worry....!!!! There's a solution just remove the metal back panel and place a plastic or silicone cover instead of it U can test the signal as follows..... Switch on the airplane mode....remove the back panel .....wait a minute.....switch off the airplane mode u will get better network...!!! :)

Hi Bought Lenovo P780 after doing much of market research on 14 may 2014 around 15000 , and amzone delivery was amazing , I was very happy with this phone , but within the few months there was lots of problems , when i was making out going call , other person did not received the voice un till i bring the mike in front of mouth , once you install 2 or 3 app internal memory full, auto hangup , went to service center , they change the mother board , then somehow it cross the warranty period , after the screen problem , and as i went to service center , they said you have to pay 7500 for its, Now you can think what option do i have left whether to wast 15000 or to invest 7500 on repairing ,,,,,at the inital level due to high battery quality i boutgh this phone for this I am still giving 100 marks and thanks for the satisfaction on 3 months...there after only problem ,I strongly reccomend not to buy any lenovo phone as their business is only to make & selling after that change the model and no parts available in the market ..-----if lenovo has the solution then kindly call me on 9818956173......

I,ve been using this phone since April 2013. No problems one so ever. Phone is fluid, battery lasts for two or three days, camera is quite OK. The only thing that bothers me is a limited space for app instalation... Even with the SD card you will get the NO SPACE messages after some time. Other than that, really good phone.

Its battery backup is still the same as it was in the beginning.Solid build quality and finish and even today looks like a brand new phone. Very good mobile.. I am using it from last 1&1/2 year & till date it has not given me any problem.. But only one thing I would like tell is that about its CAMERA quality... It's rear is 8 MP but image taken has lots of noise so the picture quality becomes very worst... Except camera mobile is absolutely very good...

Owned this phone for 2.5 years and really happy about it. Mostly using it for games. Performance slow down a little bit but still quite good. Camera so so only. Only these few days it starts having issue like GPS auto turn on nonstop (fixed by factory reset) and cannot get sim service (can detect sim card though). Really sad have to buy new phone but will definitely keep using this phone for game.

Guyz this is the worst phone i ever had used. The phone is full of complaints, save yourself from buying the phone. The only advantage is the phone backup is remarkably great and also same about the sound. The phone cannot be updated, if updated from jelly bean to kitkat it will start hanging. Im wasting a lot of money for repairing the touch screen again and again also I changed the motherboard twice. Finally I decided to buy a new phone Huawei honor 4x I hope it wont make any trouble. gmail on android is getting poorer and poorer day by day..and now its most frustating experience. gmail test on android p780 and outlook email test on microsoft lumia 640 xl. Gmail updated app on p780 take ages to sync . currently inbox is showing 1 new msg, im trying to sync it from 30 mins, it has already drained 8% of my battery but still i cant see email. Gmail factory version on p780 is good..it does takes some 8 to 10 mins to sync but new email does appers. but outlook email is fastest.. in syncd 20 emails in 13 minutes.. at completing 25 mins i was done with reading and farwarding some 8 necessary emails all this at expence of 5% battery usage.. please note network used on both devices was same in On updates usually company tries to give better service, but in gmail case updates sucks and left me frustrated..

I am using this phone for two years and I can say that it's great for its price! Build quality is perfect - dropped it several times - not even a scratch on plastic (quality of plastic is outstanding). The phone itself came with a minor bug of a screen (goes away with restart), but all the rest works fine for two years already. Battery holds two days with heavy use - apps, music, camera, chats etc. Up to five days with minor use. Takes good quality pictures (although has problem with colours), front camera is garbage. Cons - a bit too heavy in my opinion. Also slippery - drops out if you don't use case. Could have bigger internal memory (mine has 8 gigs). But like I said, you won't get anything better for $110 ! Finally, it's a GREAT choice if you travel and need to stay in touch during the day (emails, chat, camera) without even thinking about charging your phone.

As far as I know, there is not possible solution for this apart from changing the entire chipset from customer care centre for which they'll charge to damn high. Just bought a lenovo p780, how can i uninstall the security app that comes built-in ? has so many rediculous permissions, ike directly call phone nmbers, edit text messages,take pictures, modify your contacts, write call log, modify and delete contents of sd card, change network connectivity, connect and disconnect from wifi, close other apps, draw over apps, control vibration... what kind of app is this? its doing more than i can do! :)) does anyone know how can i uninstall this ? Lenovo P780 has been giving continuous problems. It has gone for mother board change twice, has been with the service centre for almost 2 months but nothing has changed. I still can not make or recieve calls most if the time so zi am back to using my old reliable Samsung grand 2. Written a lot of mails to company but no response. I am so disappointed in lenovo. I guess I will avoid all Lenovo products.

hi...I have been using this phone starting from October 2012 until now..almost 3 years..I found this phone is very good...the HDR screen.. sharp camera..and the long lasting battery performance...they were satisfied me much...however there are some disadvantages not only for this model but others too: its too difficult to get the connection and the usb port wont detecting the usb cable and easily broken.. my beloved Lenovo P780 usb port had been broken..fixed it once and it broken again.. I'm about to find the new one..maybe Lenovo P70..overall I love P series model so much.

this phone is full of problems.3 weeks ago its display stopped working though it was connecting to my laptop showing usb media drive.for which i gave it to the service center (which is very rare to find in ghaziabad)first day after receiving my mobile from the service center network problem started to bother me but i thought it might be related to my service provider but on 2nd day my lenovo P780 stopped showing any network from both the sim. Now i again had to waste my time with the service center . I strictly do not recommend any phone from lenovo not only because of its handset problem but also because of its very poor services.

Please do not buy lenovo p780!! Utter waste of money.Apart from battery this product is good for nothing.In dual sim slot the 3G slot is just for display u will not be able to get any network forget 3G. Within warranty period I had to replace the motherboard to detect the network (come on this is the basic functionality of a cell phone).Lucky me to get it done before the warranty period other wise I would have wasted another 5k !! I got this model for my frends too and for one of them mic is not working and other one 3G slot doesnt work!! Repenting big time for shelling 13K!! for this junk!! :(

my lenovo p780 dropped dead in the middle of a call. now its not switching on. the phone was bought just over an year back. the first phone had to be replaced due to defect. the second phone had complaints which the service center had repaired. now that it was beyond warranty period i opened up the phone. two screws were missing and one was stuck inside the phone.... the deeds of the service center. i couldn't identify the problem though. i guess my 17000 is down the drain. lenovo has very bad reviews... even my wife was gifted a lenovo which regularly gives problems. now my son uses it to play vedio games only coz it keeps dropping the network.

hard to say that i had to sell this ph for 3000IRS n shop keepers accepting lenovo ph in resale due to service issues i booked teh ph quite a no of times twice the mother board was changed but they could not resolve the problem network issue,internet getting disconnected every 2mins poor speak quality and also mic issue bought the ph for 17000IRS waste of money,time finally sold it and bought LG G3 added more money and now i am happy no signal issues nothing perfect ph what ever issues i had with P780 not even a single issue with this ph in fact the ph works on lollipop GREAT!!!!!

PROS: + Display size and colors + Awesome battery life (i usually get on normal use about 3 days; minimum 12h=gps+data connection+navigation app; maximum 4 and a half days=normal call use) + Good camera compared to other 8Mp cameras + No software problems so far; + Resistant to your every day accidents + Sufficient RAM Memory CONS: - Internal memory(you really cannot install many apps because of it and getting an external memory isn't a solution - when you install an app even on external memory, it also uses space on the device's memory; i suggest opting for the 8Gb internal memory one) - Heating when used on navigation (it needs to cool down) - 3G (works fine, but 4G+ is available nowadays) OTHER: 1. If you have problems with GPS reception, there are several YouTube videos that help you solve the them 2. If the headphones break down and you can't find orignial Lenovo ones, and you buy another brand know that they will only allow Pause/Resume in music mode & Accept Call/End Call. CONCLUSION: If you have your eyes on the Lenovo P780, i suggest buying it's "brother" Lenovo P70: 4G, more RAM, more internal storage (see cons). Hope this review has helped you. Don't buy Lenovo Products. I used this phone for almost 11 months and during last month I faced with network issues. I took it to the service centre which is authorised by Lenovo India - HCL Touch as it was under warranty. They took the phone inside and brought it out after tampering the warranty label and removing one screw and informed me that my handset is not under warranty because I have given it to some other service who opened my handset already. I am the user and I confirm that this handset was never given outside for service but they didn't care to listen. This will be the same situation even if you buy these products and you may also come across this same situation. Pls do not buy Lenovo products.

I own this phone since 2014 september. 4.2.1 out of the box. Updated it to Kitkat in April. I am very satisfied with its performance i get 1 full day on 6-7 hours of wifi, 3 hrs of calls and still 50% battery for next day. Lil heating problem but compared to others its a monster in battery. Do not believe in negative reviews. But yes now its outdated with 1gb ram and ff cam with 1mp. In jellybean os ff cam was 0.3mp. many many customizations and features like double tap to lock, volume button to light the screen,Power saving modes etc etc.. hope they upgrade it to 4.4.4 or more. Eagerly waiting for it.

When my phone was running on Jelly bean and set it to automatic it was working awesome but as I updated the OS to KitKat it is not working well. When my phone is under sunlight I have to adjust the brightness manually though the brightness is already set to automatic adjustment. Can anybody help me to solve this issue?

Had this phone working pretty well unless upgraded to kitkat. Every things slowed down, and binging up a menu is like the difference between broadband and dial-up. Now, suddenly the home button (touch) stopped functioning, while rest of the screen responds to touch. When given to service center, they say the display and touch needs to be replaced costing Rs. 8000 ($125) Now the cost of the phone is only $200. Better to dump the device and buy another one. Costlier parts is one of the drawback. The device becoming unserviceable in an year plus of use is ridiculous.

I can say never buy this phone. Although battery is good but there are many -ve points . SIM not detected in this phone some time from service center they told me that processor needs to be changed. Not getting heated even continuous play of 1 hr. Massive battery of 4000 mAh. Its like an inbuilt dual battery. Giving me backup of whole day with calls, whatsapp, games and all. I am a fan of COC. So u can understand about continuous use of GPRS. Good display with great brightness so no probs even in sunlight Quad core 1.2 Ghz processor with 1 GB ram is enough for easily handling any heavy app. Both camera qualities is good fir pics even in low light. M a frequent phone changer but m using this phone since a year and not yet wished to change this. Lenovo is doing great job especially in battery backup.

I had bought Lenovo P780 on 7th May 2014, till 4th April 2015, i have to visit lenovo service centre for 5 time...for problems like voice, hanging, network failure...etc...all the time they returned to me after 15-20 days saying that now ur phone is ok...but last time on 4th April 2015, when i submited my phone and i fighted with there customer care executive lots on email and on phone,, they agreed to provide me replacement with S860 but on 6th may my warranty period will get over, so again i fighted for extended warranty...after lots of fighting they agreed to provide me 3 months extension warranty...but till today (4th May'2015, neither I had received my replaced phone nor any update...still hopeless and there is no response from Lenovo service support...and the service provider of Lenovo is HCL and they are pathetic...very bad behaviour from HCL ...and Lenovo is silent, not responding..very poor product and poor after sales support.. never buy Lenovo....any product...

Hi I used the P780 for about 11 months with lot of call problems and low 3G connectivity in India as compared to my pther smartphones. After 11 months, the P780 would just drop the call or even after showing the network signal on the screen, i could not make the outgoing calls nor receive incoming calls. When I contacted the service centre, they replaced the mother board within 20 days and my warantee got over. After testing for 7 days, I found the same problem in the new mother board replaced by LENOVO!!! I was Shocked and surprised. I complained to the service centre and they wanted to replace the mother board again but now for a price of US$150 (approx. Indian Rupees 9000). Lenovo phones have this problem of very low connectivity over calls and data. I read some reviews on P70 and understand the newer mobiles have same problem. Lenovo requires to address this issue immediately and rectify the same.

lenovo p780 if it drops down then sure shot 8k loss.. the touch nd display in this phone is combined. if u give it in lenovo service centre they charge 8.5k for touch n display same stuff in grey market it around 3k. secondly i advice all the p780 user to but glass screen guard which has newly come in market.. 100% paisa wasool guard.. its saves ur touch to get cracked when dropped. the price for glass screen guard is around 175/- to 250/- rs

Onetouch service center in Bnagalore is managed by HCL and is always crowded with LENOVO complaints, almost as I observed there were 80-90 complaints a day. It has lipo battery and when I tried o look in Google for maintaining lipo it said maintinaining battery below 40° is ideal.. And fully charged it should be 4.2 volts..but mine reaches that gold in just 65% charge..does it mean my battery is faulty?

If you don't like the lenovo skin get a launcher instead. I myself, am using nova launcher. About GB, if you remember, GB had so much updates back in the day because it was buggy as hell! KK seems to have taken a misstep on this phone, not because of Google or AOSP but the idiots at lenovo who were assigned to portKK on this phone. KKis quite good and stable as I experienced first hand on previous lenovo phone particularly the s930 which when I got it was in JB and had an OTA to KK without any ill effects. It's just the OEM developers who are messing it up. I bet, if you could port stock Google Android on this, it won't have the problems as encountered by so many users.

I just updated to s228 firmware a week ago and I must admit, it's as trouble free as the the first time I jumped to s226 (I skipped the previous update prior to s226 and did the same with s228). Aside from the stupid decision of lenovo of not including their previous "backup and restore" app, (which I was furiously insisted by the system prior to upgrade form JB to KK that I use the said app. Now I can't retrieve my old SMS trapped in the blamed dead app) everything's peachy. No mods needed. No network, signal, battery or notification problems as stated in the previous posts. Granted I got this bnew last November (8GB) but it has a 2013 production date it hasn't suffered any ill effects as numerously mentioned. Knock on wood! I hope lenovo stops KK development and focus on getting lollipop right on this machine instead. Even though this will be my last lenovo (nay, all chinese) branded phone. I'm sticking with Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese brands for all my android and PC needs, thank you very much!

Its not like that my bro,,, just restart it frequently, switch it off for atleast 2hrs a day, if you have upgraded to Kitkat then follow these,, Master reset it,, do a half a dozen restarts, if signal drops then go to sim management just turn off both sims, and activate them after a couple of minutes. No problem with my phone even after upgraded to KItkat just a bit less battery back up. But specs are awesome. if you wish follow my tips and you will not be sad.

Listen guys,,, am a lover of my lenny p780 and i always wanted to upgrade it to Kitkat. After reading lots and lots of negative feedback i din't upgraded it. But Last week I dared to upgrade it, i took out the sim and memory card as there were no imp except whatsapp and some other miscellaneous junk. I upgraded from jellybean to Kitkat s228,, and then i master reset it, and inserted my sim and sd card,,, have done some half dozen restarts,,, this update is really working for me. Every thing is so fine that all these days i was misguided by negative reviews. now am on 4.4.2 kitkat. and use Nova Launcher. Battery lasts for 1 and a half day no matter how i use it. and camera takes good pics compared to JB, but issues with a bit of slight heating other than that no issues. Later on updates might solve this. Batter would last for two complete days in JB now lasts for a one and half day. Many many good features are added i just love it and changed my mind of replacing it and buy Samsung A7. few cons like Front facing camera which is worse not for selfies but for only video calling, very very slight heating near the ear piece, and battery backup decreased a bit, Hope in next update these all things would be solved .thanks to the Lenovo team. Do not believe in negative reviews. Mine is 8gb version. Indian Row.

Seems most of the problem stems from what country you're in. Hardware that is? Seems India gets most of the bad batch of lenovo phones. Already had 4 lenovos and so far (knock on wood), I've had no problems coming from a factory defect. Although customer service sucks! When you email them, you only get an automated response. Beyond that...NOTHING. As if they've fallen off the face of the planet or something. Tried contacting them via G+, Twitter and Facebook aside from emailing them a few times but no response. It's as if all your communiqué is being routed to the spam folder and automatically deleted. Anyway, customer service aside, lenovo hardware seems to b slow to "getting there". They seem to be sticking to the low to mid end segment of the market. No follow up on the p-series. No consistency on flagship models. And lenovo seems deftly afraid of using 1080p on their midrange devices even though it should have one. Compare those to other models. I guess what I'm saying, this would be my last lenovo mobile (after k900 then s930 and a536). After sales service, comparatively low specs for the price and other brands, software (although they've improve significantly after KitKat) and hardware limitations. Just bought the phone online: With Singapore's telecom coverage, I do not have any issues with 3g network. Review 1 - Phone was lagging, too many bloat wares installed. Example 4 Browsers, Dolphin, Opera, Chrome, Baidu. Hi, I am using this phone since Jan 2014. In My immediate group 4 others are using this handset (1 4gb + 3 8gb + mine 8gb). Only the 4 gb handset performs slow now, otherwise all of us are extremely happy. All phones are on s228 rom. We all swear by this smartphone, as it gives all basic features and apps(office, doc and card scanner) that are actually useable in real life. It has a stellar battery back up. So u can use these features day in and day out, charge ur friends mobile and still have some juice left. Slim and elegant looking. Build quality is also gr8 as all handsets have been dropped quite a few times and have survived. One with broken screen set us back by Rs. 3200(not Lenovo service centre) which I guess is OK. No signal problems as compared with other brand handsets. Camera, screen resolution are decent and so is the sound from the speakerphone(ring and music). All in all P780 is (was, when it was launched) an excellent choice for the price(I bought mine for 17900). I also have experienced pure vanilla 4.4.2 KitKat on Moto e and Moto g2, which IMO is a lot faster than a launcher loaded onto the OS as is the case with Lenovo.

This phone comes with "Jelly Bean" pre-installed on it. "DO NOT" update this phone's software to Kitkat. After updating to Kitkat this phone would give various problems. me too, I dropped it 2 or 3 times (heavy) and still working very good after 1.5 years. The camera makes very true/nature color because P780 using CCD sensor while all mobiles today made by CMOS sensor. Android OS auto upgrade to 4.4. I like this mobile except RAM only 1G. A wonderful mobile!

the only best thing about this phone is BATTERY LIFE... dual sim standby (on data )with minimal brightness LCD... can hold 2 full days in single charge.. speed is ok.. a bit weighty..the camera is just average 8mp.. just ok. i dont fuss with gaming or camera.. the important to me is connection and batery life.. this one suit me well.. just experience...

Dealer replaced the S but at reduced value a bit naughty "coz its a year old and "that's the current price" but then when asked for a like for like replacement "oh we cant get one out of stock" ... Its an awesome phone if u r not looking for a front camera (blur) back decent pics. 2. If u r looking for a better battery back up 100% perfect. 3. If u need to play games without lag den best. 4. Don't upgrade for kit Kat lacks battery quality. Can get jelly bean also if u have upgraded visit your service center. I did uupgradation but battery drain fast as my friends says here. If used kit Kat. 5. Value for price. 6. Not gorilla glass normal IPS display.. 7. No heating issue as much as other mobs have. Will heat if u r downloading while charging. But its limited. 8. The common problem with this phone is the network signals. I visited the lenevo service center recently and submitted my phone for service as it is in warranty period. When I asked them about the problem, they told me that there are some issues with the motherboard which is not capable of catching the signals properly. When they will change it will work fine. Many of my friends were facing the same problem which is fixed now.

Hi, you can download update for Theme center (in Google on your phone type "Lenovo p780 theme center update"). It is avaliable on xda-developers site. The only thing you also have to do is to change security settings so that you can install downloaded file which is not from Play store. I tried it and now there are many different themes for this phone. Good luck!

I have been using Lenovo P780 almost a year. All the while, those called me at this phone always complained that they can't really hear what I was saying. A month ago, I sent to service center for changing the mic. The problem has slightly improved but the caller still can't hear me clearly. besides, my phone always restart automatically. It will hang/lag by its own. Auto start issue can happen more than 10times in an hour. is there any solution to these two problem besides sending to service center? Because I don't have spare phone once I send to the service center. It took me about two weeks for my previous repair in service center. thanks in advance for advice.

I researched for a long time to buy a phone which is a good value for money. After reading a lot of reviews on Flipkart,gsmarena and snapdeal I finally decided and bought this phone from Sangeeta Store. I read a lot of mixed reviews about this phone and thought it might prove a good phone to me in this cost. I was using Samsung R before and then micromax canvas2. I have used other phones also what my brother had. I must say I found Micromax the best in all the aspects in low range phones. I am writing this review after using this (Lenovo P780) for 6 months and knowing every in and out of it. First I should say that this phone has its best advantage of its battery backup. Its look is fine and its battery goes for at least 2 days in good usage. The worst part of the phone is its Network and call drops. First it will take about 10-15 minutes to search both the sims whenever we reboot the phone and after that also its network is never good when we try to call someone or get any phone call. It suddenly drops the network ones we get any call. Even during surfing internet it sucks. My Micromax was the best in network and internet usage. I use 2 best network provider in India which is Airtel and Vodafone and it doesnt work for any of them. I installed a number of upgrades which lenevo provided but have not seen any better performance as of yet. I normally have to call 2-3 times if I have to talk more than 10 minutes as the call drops or else there will be bad reception. I even hear from my friends that my phone was switched off or out of reach a lot of time but actually it is only because of network issue. Internet is one of my most important thing and I cant live without that. Due to its bad reception, I had to buy wifi modem in my house and use my broadband service instead of Airtel 3G which i am paying for without enough use now. With only one advantage of battery backup, I am actually suffering due to network usage. My phone is actually not a phone but just a tab now. I never thought I will be cheated like this but no one to blame. I research a lot for anything I buy but this time I took a wrong decision and hence I suggest all my friends not to buy this phone. Micromax is far better than this if you are planning for low budget phone. But I would suggest buy a better phone from known brands instead of these cheap phones. It might work for some people but actually a lot of people suffers on the other hand. Thanks

Never buy this phone. They are boasting about the battery power. That is true. The charge will last for 3 days. But it will be damaged within 1 year. I am experienced about this. You cannot find its service center even from its own web site.

The phone was working well and suddenly the phone konked off and no response, the phone simply wont come on. The service centre in thane replaced the battery, which took 30 days. Again same problem, so they say - we will change the pcb, after 25 days i get the phone and gues what - *#06# gives message - NO IMEI. so back to the service centre, now its been 25 days more and no response from them. Pathetic After Sales Service.

I think Lenovo P780 is a fairly decent phone. I have been using it for last 12 months. Yes the 4000mAh battery is the biggest advantage, but other than that the phone has a good built and decent specs for it's price. I also experienced the after sales service, and they replaced my phone's broken screen at 8000 rupees. It was broken because of my own fault. And it took only 25 mins for the replacement and the new screen is as good as the original screen. 25 minutes for screen replacement....i think It's very good for any service cente by any standard. My only grief is that the number of themes in the new kit kat version is very limited I.e. 2. We would like to see more themes available soon.

I have been using Lenovo P780 and had been so happy with the battery power. Yesterday I upgraded to row 227. To my surprise, the battery drains much faster than previous update. Really much faster. Does anybody experience the same? To Lenovo team, I hope next update will resume back the battery power, otherwise the 4000 mah is no more an advantage. Please take it as a serioud request. Thanks

Hi, I will never advise anyone to buy this phone. In all the phones bought for so many years, this phone has been my worst experience. We bought P780 from Vijay Sales on Baner Road, Pune. They did not tell us about the display being expensive. My son, who was using the phone, dropped it, and the display was spoilt. We had to change that in a mere 15 days after buying the phone, and found out that there was no warranty on the display and the cost of it was 9500/- from the Lenovo service center. We got it replaced from another on-Lenovo center at a lower cost. Two months after that, the processor gave way, and Lenovo Service Center near Shivajinagar insisted that the warranty was void since we got the display changed elsewhere, and quoted us 7500+taxes for the processor problem because of which the phone was not working. All this within two months from buying the phone. Do NOT ever buy a Lenovo phone. The phones and the service suck. Shame on you, Lenovo!!!! Also, in spite of us buying a lot of things from Vijay Sales, they too did not help in ANY way!

Hi all, I am using the P780 ROW 8 GB version mobile for the past 1 year with out any issues both in software and hardware. It has got an excellent battery life and also the quad core provides a good speed/ performance. Recently I updated the firmware to Kitkat and faced some issues with lagging, battery life and with the User Interface. Even after updating to all debugged version of Kitkat (till the last version), I felt JB was far better than Kitkat, So I thought it is better to downgrade to jellybean which was more stable in performance as well as in speed. I downgraded to JB myself without any support of service center, with out rooting the mobile and more importantly without affecting the warranty of mobile. as per consumer court norma and laws you can demand letter for replacement if you dont get device within 1 month..but process is long so ppl usually dnt go with it..i suggest you make a group of cstmrs who are harressed by ths service go to service center bfre 30 mints of its closing time and tell them ypu all will not leave service center unless you get service. This method works i did this for my samsung..we made a grp of 5 ppl nd didnt left service center till 7:30 timing of sevce cntre is upto 6...then they allotted us replacmnt letter at 8 pm.

I Purchased this phone for its promised long battery life although the sound quality and looks were a compromise from day one . Still worse is their lenovo service experience in India . My phone started dropping both the carriers signals and so I deposited it on the 31st October for repair with their service centre in Navi Mumbai . I have been using lenovo P780 since october 2013 up until now, this mobile so far I can say the best of all. In term of price is affordable in its class. The longest battery hours ( even though it is not listed in any web site for its longest battery ). I don't ugrade to kit kat (4.4) because it takes a lot of memory and its performance is slower. So I just stick to jelly bean (4.2) which works best. Camera is ok with its preinstalled applications which is quite ok. The OS, apps and overall performance of this mobile phone are tremendously ok. The most important is, its battery which none could compare and no company as dare as Lenovo to do that. Kudos to Lenovo!

i got this phone in august.....the lcd cracked after a minor trauma.....the service centres nearby said cant help....had to go to kolkata.....there 1 out of 4 said they can help..(pblm was lcd such a common pblm)..after i reached they said its 8000 rupees( my cell was 15500) that also not available.....so forget about lenovo...its seriously useless to use a cell with no service centre and rare ones have no availablity and available ones charge heavily.

This phone has serious network problem. I have faced same problem and android blogs posted updating the modem. But I replaced my handset instead. You can try modem upgrade. Or if possible do factory reset and try network mode to GSM Only. Try Run internet for say 10-15 minutes and then switch network mode back to Auto mode. See if that works. Also which network provider you are using. You may try changing APN to access network. What I have seen is changing these does the trick.

I have been usign Lenovo P780 for last 2 months. I observed network issue when network mode is switched to GSM/WCDMA. Other person on the call not able to listen me completely, clearly. Automatic disconnection of calls, Signal bars fluctuates etc. But when network mode is switched to GSM only then there is not problem. Phone works very good. Battery back is also good. For those who doesnt want 3G and requires only 2G with good battery back up its a good phone. But I strongly recomend not to buy if you plan to use 3G or WIFI on this mobile. It will show you hell. Lenovo Team has to learn how to make good 3G mobiles.

I had faced the same issue. And the solution is to go back to jelly bean. If you upgrade to Kitkat, it will invite problems as the processor is designed to support Jelly bean only. Go back to Jelly bean all problems would get resolved.

Guys.. this phone is PATHETIC unless you just use this phone for just calls and sms.. it will give you a battery backup of over 5-6 days for just calls and SMS (no whatsapp messages).. Apart from that, if you try using this phone for anyother thing this will keep you busy with lot of problems.. Read the forum on official Lenovo website and you'll be shocked to see that the Lenovo official have been acknowledging these issues for over 6 months now but no solutions have been released yet for their consumers.. Please help if the latest kitkat firmware update gives in built swipe/slide keyboard feature.. I've very thick fingers and typing individual keys while messaging is a pain for me on touchscreens.. So I really like the in built swipe/slide keyboard feature which is already there in jellybean but was not included in the initial release of kitkat update for p780 which made me downgrade back to jellybean from kitkat.. This phone works like a charm for me with massive battery life.. Only problem is I broke the screen recently and the service center quoted me Rs.6000 to replace the only the led display whereas my led display was fine but they were unable to replace just the outer glass and touch screen. Including both front and back panel it was done at Rs.10000 whereas the new handset is available at Rs. 13000 on online stores.. this is a fantastic phone... my concern with android phones was battery life. i don't use my phone heavily, and all my previous android phones (Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, HTC) lasted only 1 day. this lenovo is amazing... battery lasted 7days. On average my daily use of my phone is: 30min talktime, 1hour wifi on, maybe 20/30 min playing a game... for me this is great! another very useful feature of the phone is the ability to connect an external hard drive via the otg cable supplied. usually when i travel i used to take a netbook with me so that i transfer the files on it. with the ability to attach an external hard drive, i can transfer my photos (i take them in raw format so they are about 25mb each) directly to my hard drive without the need of carrying a netbook!!!

Hi guys. I discovered a shortcut for flashlight to be enable. In stand by mode or lock screen just press the home button for 2 seconds and it will enable the flashlight. just hold on on the home button to continous light on and if you release it will light off. Its quite useful when you are finding something in the dark. I don't know if this is one of the feature of kitkat or it is already on the jelly bean.

I had it for a year now, the best thing is the battery. And its the reason i still keep it. Every smartphone should have at least this big battery 4000s mah. Its very useless while you have the latest and high specs phone but with low battery life. 2000 and 3000 mah era should be gone and every smartphone should enter the 4000 to 7000 mah era.

With the stable version I have some review/learnings which I would share here : 1. Do not install "Internet Speed Master" App from Play store it will mess your 3G connectivity for the SIM you are using.Later installed new APN to restore Internet connectivity but strongly suggest avoid using that app. 2. This phone vibrate very very less, I have missed lot of calls while it is in my pocket. Atleast higher vibration level must be provided with this handset. I am still searching how to increase vibration level on this handset, if anyone has any suggestion please help. 3. Do not set home>Preferences>Icon Settings>Desktop grid size to Rarefaction. This will remove all home screen icons 4.Do not install truecaller app suggesting this coz of my earler *S123* version usage. 5. Earpiece volume is low not sure if there is anyway to increase it. If anyone knows please share. 6. Facebook app is having a bug. There are three birthday notification on same day when I clicked on it to wish my friends it takes me to a page where all future birthday are listed. I just wondered where all three birthday list are? Then I opened my email where I hv got email notification listing all three. 7. Chrome browser is pretty slow, opera mini works good. 8. Norton antivirus installation notification appears only once when we open brand new later it disappeared. antivirus slows down performance but have not seen any comments about its feedback. 9. Charging cable is very very short in length. Lenovo should provide a longer cable or some accessories. 10. Lenovo accessories are rare in market, if you go to shop and ask about lenovo p80 accessories you wont find any nd if you find they will charge you double, better order online which is quite cheap. 11. Whatsapp gets installed in phone memory and unable to move to SD Card not an issue though 12. To listen Music inbuilt music app is bakwas better download any other. Headset volume is also low. This phone should provide way to set profile changes like setting up vibration mode from 9-6 for working day. This is very useful for working professionals or students. Remember this phone supports WCDMA which is fast but lesser than 3G but enough for india. With so many complaints about kitkat upgrade, I'm not gonna upgrade untill I hear positive feedback for next six months. One of my friend installed 700MB plus kitkat update and after that he is just keep on crying. Rest this phone is awesome very few in world which has 4000mh battery and known brand. I'm using this phone since november last yr. Initially there was some problems with the kitkat update. But most recently lenovo published another two consecutive updates. Now its performance is really good. Experiencing no bad issues except a very little lag. If you take my suggestion, pl go for update. And before updating make sure that there will not be any interruption in intetnet connectivity as it is an OTA update. Interruptions can lead you to the worst experience.

I bought this on 2nd Sep,,, i was a bit disapointed with Front facing cam but after a usage of nearly a week,, i can just say "WOW",, thanks to Lenovo as i charged twice in these 6 days,, no lags, no network issues, i use wifi for about 4 to five hours in a day and my friends watched videos through otg cable but still the battery losts long really long.. would be happy if front cam improved by the perfect Kitkat update.

Bought this mobile two weeks ago. After reading all your valuable comments, never updated to kitkat when prompted. Never found a bug so far in Jelly Bean. The battery is fantastic. The rear camera is good not 'The best'. Rear camera is very poor, for name's sake. The quality of speakers are good. Headphone provided with the phone is playing musics awesome. Initially took long time on the first start up. Once contacts went blank and a quick reboot fixed it. Not a single glitch so far. The screen is big and crisp Dont charge the phone when the phone is inside a pouch or cover. It heats up the battery. Battery app is a brilliant work. The processing speed is awesome. 1Gb RAM with a Quad core processor. Thumbs up for this phone. This is my personal experience. The phone may require few reboots on the first day of purchase in order to get things set up. Cheers.

I updated to Kitkat. My phone used to last for 2 days on a single charge but after the update it lasted only for half a day. I switched off my phone nd switched on again, charged the phone and calibrated the Battery, now my p780 works great. No issues with battery charge, lasts for little more than 2 days now. I Don play games, but always connected in 3g, fb nd what's app. I'm Happy now :)

Hi I have being using the Lenovo for past 8 month already and all I can say it is a very good phone especially on the 4000 mah battery capacity. You I bought the P780 in Malaysia and my telco carrier is Celcom. Here I have 2 issues that I need help which no.1 Bluetooth.I have a Plantronic Legend and Edge. Apparently when I m using my Bluetooth it keep breaking up. No.2 is upgrade to kit kat the P780 seem to drain more power compare to jellybean software. It any solution for my Bluetooth solution as I m a very heavy user on phone call and so does the battery.

Lenonvo Customer Service and the phone sucks !!!! April 2014 I purchased Lenovo P780 and within 5 mths of time the mother board is damaged. I requested for a replacement which was refused in the beginning.From last 2 weeks my phone is with Lenovo service center and they are still waiting for the MB to arrive.I had network issues with the phone.Earlier, it was informed to me that replacement is not possible but now that the issue is taking so long to get resolve and now I am demanding for the replacement of phone they are informing me that I should have asked for the replacement earlier. After upgrading to kitkat. Am facing network issue. 3g is not working. I somehow installed speed test app. It shows 6mbps speed. But none of the apps were connecting in 3g mode. Am currently browsing via 2g mode. Even having issues with calls. The calls were getting hanged frequently and the output is too low. All my backuped apps didn't restored. I have made video call on hangout in local means Delhi to Delhi it works great. � Video recording in good light condition give a satisfied result. � Music listening with headphone is a great experience � Build quality is good. � Battery is Awesome after one recharge it runs 100 hrs, And using all social APP's and 24 hrs of Internet using it easily runs 80+ Hrs. For that you need to just keep in mind that you can adjust BRIGHTNESS of Mobile phone. Please note: I am not a gamer Social APP's installed in my phone and I use it 24X7 are FB, Hike, Line, What's APP, Linked In and Two email Accounts for 24X7. � Battery is not removable by user. � Screen is shinny/reflection is to high but still you can adjust the brightness. The upgrade to Kitkat has been nightmarish for me. The battery performance after the upgrade has been miserable. Moreover now the phone gets heated up terribly more particularly when the phone is used on 3G. I now badly want my jellybean back. This Kitkat upgrade has been so deplorable. This is the best phone I have ever used. The battery can last for 3 days if you are economical, or 1 day of very heavy use. It's just incredible. Lenovo have fast charge technology. The phone will charge faster than any other phone. A samsung Galaxy series for example, take about 3 times as long to charge. The only downside for me is the camera. It's one of the worst cameras I have used lately. I bought mine in Asia.

find a authorized service center for lenovo & go there with proper backup on SD card also carry a stand by mobile incase if they retain your piece. ask them to downgrade from kitkat to jelly bean. there are chances of getting mother board to be damaged due course of downgrading so be prepared to take this into consideration also or else continue with kitkat until further assistance from lenovo.

Vishal in response to your query those are the normal things you would be facing once you have upgraded your operating system... Before upgrading the OS you should have found out whether it could be upgraded to kitkat... Because the software is not compatible with Kitkat but it was compatible with Jelly bean you are experiencing these problems.... You might want to reconsider in switching back to Jelly Bean see if you can do a factory reset or a system restore...

Hello everyone. This is a SOLUTION to LAGGY UI after kitkat update. Make sure ur device is completely updasted.(build number P780_ROW_8G_S221_140729). Install NOVA LAUNCHER (free) from play store and use it as default launcher. Next Activate developer mode(google it) on your android device. Next go to developer options from system settings and do the following: 1)Set runtime to ART from Dalvik 2)Enable "Force GPU rendering" 3)Enable "Disable HW overlays" Reboot phone and enjoy a smoother experience!!!

I have been usign Lenovo P780 for last 3 months. I observed network issue when network mode is switched to GSM/WCDMA. Other person on the call not able to listen me completely, clearly. Automatic disconnection of calls, Signal bars fluctuates etc. But when network mode is switched to GSM only then there is not problem. Phone works very good. Battery back is also good. For those who doesnt want 3G and requires only 2G with good battery back up its a good phone. But I strongly recomend not to buy if you plan to use 3G or WIFI on this mobile. It will show you hell. Lenovo Team has to learn how to make good 3G mobiles.

I recently updated my P780 to kitkat with lenovo update. Since then my background internet has turned off. Whatsapp, utorrent,facebook etc works as long as they are open. Once i come bak to home screen, torrent download gets paused, whatsapp msgs dnt get delivered. Please give me a solution to this.

Hi!! I have been an extremely proud owner of this gem of a phone till I updated to 4.2.2. Though I have been facing even a fraction of issues with my phone what other users have been, but there are 3 specific issues, which in my opinion, now leads to some dissatisfaction within me: 1. Battery life has been shortened. Earlier I used to get around 3 days with normal use (extensively used for official calling but very limited 3G usage) but now its less than complete two days. 2. Free RAM has been limited to less than 300 MB. I wonder why the 4.2.2 should consume so much ram, as it was designed by google to run on 512 MB ram enabled mobiles. 3. I could not extract phone numbers or numbers from text messages. Weird but true!!! I mean this is some thing which even my Nokia 3300 had within it. Has there been any solution to the above??? But what I like is the security APP. That's simply wonderful. I also read someone complaining being not able to install backed-up apps from the SD card. Friend, just go to file browser and tap on the APK file folder and start installing backed-up apps without downloading from the play store all over again... Hope lenovo listens to us releases a more stable, bug free version.

Hey Jaya, I found way to move apps to SD after kitkat update Install kitkat update > go to settings > storage > select SD card > reboot > again go to settings > apps > select desired app you want to move on SD > there will be option Enjoy Kitkat!!!

Hi Sahil, Kitkat update has brought in built security app that block background messages(whatsapp) so follow below procedure. Go to security app > Privacy Guard > Trusted apps > select option Whatsapp as trusted app.

This happened 2 days after upgrading to kitkat & downloading Game Asaplt7 and playing it for 15 min. There after, stopped playing and was chatting on whatsapp for less than 10min and the whatsapp screen froze on the screen in the background . I have updated to Kit kat. One update of some 700 mb and then another update of 177 mb, and now the phone has became more awsome then before. I can bet this is the best phone in this price range. After the update, it became a piece of envy for others. more features and better UI after update. Most important now wireless display has been activated. All previous features are there plus new features are added. Just one word:Awesome.

When connecting your P780 to computer and if you're using a PC (Windows) check your phone, the settings for USB will pop up on your phone and then choose the connection what you need. There are MTP, PTP, USB Storage (SD Card) and USB debugging. If you want to access your external memory card choose the USB Storage and if you want to access your Internal memory you have to choose the MTP but you need to install first the Lenovo suite which is installed on your P780. If you're using MAC you need to download the Android File Transfer on MAC (www.android.com/filetransfer)

Do not charge UA phone with a different charger as the lenovo p780 charger has 2amp output and others have only 1.2amp output. And don't try other USB cables with the charger that is provided. Its just a waste of time. U won't get UA phone properly charged if u use a different cable. Try this 1) turn off ur phone . 2) remove simcard and memory card 3) press and hold the red button for 10sec 4) after that insert sim n mem card. 5) turn on and calibrate ur battery. If this doesn't solve ur problem do a factory data reset.

Before the update my device was always restarting, the battery was not charging on usb not working to see internal or external memory, low network signal. After upgrading to KitKat: failed to reboot from scratch, great camera works properly, battery discharge time + fast continues with load connected device with fault, still fails to see usb storage, the last update was 177 MB which seems only to add Asphalt 7 game did not work. So to me it was worth the upgrade, since the problems were solved reboot devices, about the other defects hope that a new upgrade solve.

I have upgraded to KitKit 4.4.2 and it is good, a Bit of change , All Applications of one main screens, unlike Jealybean where you just had you important apps on main screens. 1)Here once you do the update, take a backup on the SD card. 2) Do the main storage memory setting after installs to External memory. It has the Move to SD card option. 3) If possible install a 32GB ultra SD card...I have seen the difference in performance, as No installed app I keep in the internal memory. 4)) Kitkat is working just fine and no problem with Upgrade.

Upgraded my P 780 to kitkat 4.4.2. Phone gets slow. Called the servive centre to undersatnd the issue and they told that this upgrade in not available with them online and hence they can't fix the issue. They suggested me to downgrade the software. Will go very soon to them for downgrading the same to 4.2 jellybean. May be today itself..... Hope Lenovo will fix the bugs sooner then we can upgrade to 4.4.2 kitkat Friends my humble request to all please do not uograde your P780 as will use 722MB of the data usga and then you have to go to the service centre to downgrade it. Lenovo gave one more update to the existing 4.4.2 which i did yesterday After update: -Phone getting switched off on its own: Problem seems to be fixed -Camera blur images is still not fixed [In the process to increase the shutter lag they screwed the camera quality] -Still no option to hide unwanted icons which was there in the 4.2 -Network problem with 3G is some what better now Still need some more time to see what else is fixed and what not

After upgrading to kitkat I am facing the following issues 1. Camera not able to focus properly. Picture quality is bad. I was happy with the camera before upgrade. 2. The sound quality is very low unable to hear anything from the other end. 3. Issues with 3g network. No signal coming once I select the 3G network. 4. Phonebook not synchronizing with my car audio bluetooth though able to connect and make calls. The contact numbers get displayed in the display of my car radio set instead of the contact names. 5. Performance of the phone is bit slow gets hanged which never happened before upgradation. 6. The volume output has drastically gone down of I connect my mobile to any speaker / car audio system. 7. Whatsapp and viber do not keep running at the back end, the messages come only when these two applications are opened on the screen. 8. The swipt text writing not working. Just upgraded to Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and phone does not charge. Overnight charging shows 1% charged. Tried different chargers, cables, usb and everything. After factory reset and starting up phone several times, the charging % went up to 20% and then again the same issue. It's now at 18% and stuck there for long. Have learnt that some Samsung devices are facing similar issues after the upgrade. As P780 does not have a removable battery there are no alternate methods to charge (?). Anyone knows a work around? Any app that can help? Since various chargers and plug-points have been tried, this seems like a software issue. Is there a way to rollback the OS upgrade? Thank you in anticipation of your help !

The kitkat is 722 Mb. That is why your space is insufficient. I got the same message. There are some hidden files especially with camera folders. Check show hidden folders wherever the option is available. Delete those. Also whatsap by default takes backup everyday and you will find in the database atleast backup for 8 days. Delete 6 -7 backups leaving the last 1-2.

Hi.,Anyone having issue with YouTube app or while streaming YouTube video on any browser, after the update.it seems the video freezes after streaming for sometime. Reset your device will not make the camera fix by itself. Just a waste of time. I think you may not notice yet. Try see for a deeper zoom when taking picture and you will know it. P780 have a decent camera, but poor software make it a totally crap now.

A few new things (I mean problems). Lenovo just update a new kind of lag, problem with microphone and auto focus for rear camera will not work (problem with kitkat itself, even if changing camera app wont solve this). Lenovo must give immediate update to fix this problem. Advance user can revert back to S124. But for newbie user, I suggest not to update yet.

If you update the 4 gb model of P780 ROW....that will have too many bugs but the 8 GB model has a good firmware and more space for apps to run smoothly....so when you bought the P780 4gb model...saving some money has costed you heavily..... and obiviousy...if the 4gb and 8gb model are not given difference in performance and bugs.....no one would buy the 8 gb model :P :P :P -_- -_- -_-

Even I was told the way. Instead they took my phone and when i got my phone, my screen guard was removed, back panel was replaced, battery was replaced. I was aldo told not to upgrade my phone as the new version of Android will again make this phone dead. Extremely pathetic phone and service. Only good part is battery but that also sucks in few months

Kitkat updates: Best phone & value for money. 1. You have to backup all your internal memory card to external sd card, internal memory card will be erased including gallery. 2. After update you will 5 GB internal Memory. 3. Upgrade improves the Radio and Music Player Sound quality and volume (I am very much satisfied). 4. Nothing happen to the battery life. I bought a Lenovo - P780 on Amazon approximately one month back. Till today i have been a ardent promoter for Lenovo and i sincerely regret that i ever promoted this phone. Unfortunately phone got slipped and the screen broke. I was looking out for Lenovo service center to pay for the damage and get a new screen. But,You guys are the worst Post Sales support i have ever seen. Frankly this is the most important aspect and you guys have outsourced this only. I had called this service center for umpteen times but nobody had the time or the courtesy to pick the phone. I had to roam around in madness of Nehru place for an hour to find your service center and to my surprise this was an outsourced operations and many other lenovo customers who were facing similar problems. This outsourced service center of yours had the most unprofessional service centers i have ever seen. Rather than hiring technicians to resolve customers problems, these guys are goons who are further harassing already disgruntled customer. Coming back to my problem, I signed a job sheet to get the touchscreen replaced with a new one that too at inflated cost of 8300. To add salt to injury, this new screen was no way near my original screen and looked and felt totally b-grade material. Moreover, While taking the phone back they drop a bomb informing the PCB has been broken which FYI was working fine earlier as i had already operational sim in the phone. Now these guys broke / damaged the PCB of my phone and demanded that i pay up 8300 immediately. Once i pay this 8300, only then they will raise a request for this PCB and i would have to wait for another 7-10 business working days ( bullshit - this means 3 weeks ) to get this piece and only then will my phone be operational. Really, 13000 phone and i have to spend 8500 for the screen within 2 months and wait for another 3 weeks to get this repaired, Are you guys serious or what ? This was not end of it, on raising the concern i found there were 7 other customers in the same room with same phone facing exactly same problem. There was this customer who was waiting for this same PCB for past 21 days and these apathetic so called technicians were asking this guy to call to the customer care or wait for another 15 days. This is where i lost all my hope in Lenovo, where it not only duped me with a very very cheap product but a really really apathetic so called service center with really no capability to service anything but a cash collection center to further dupe the customers. I sincerely request you guys to take this cheap product back from me because i have no intentions of dealing with you guys any more. Really really sad that i trusted in Lenovo.

Today i got 4.4 Kit Kat Update (India)... its a 4GB version and i am damn happy with this phone..there is no network issue that i have faced, very good Display, it does support OTG and transfer speed is very fast, WiFi direct support (you should install app "Software data cable" to best use of WiFi direct feature). There was an outage in our place so I turned on the flashlight of my P780 for about 20 minutes. Thereafter, the screen began to show some problems which became worst after few days. I brought it to a technician and he said it was an "LCD" problem. I have just bought it seven months ago. Now, it could not be repaired because there are no parts available. I purchased the Lenovo P780 about 5 months back and thought it was a fantastic phone untill the network started dropping. Initially I ignored it but then I was going full days without any network whereas I should have been getting full network. After calling the Lenovo Service Center, they claimed it was a software problem and that I should submit my phone to the HCL service center in Marol for an instant upgrade. On visiting the HCL service center (where only 2 employees work) I was informed the my phone PCB panel was defective and that it needs replacement that will take 30 days as Lenovo has not send them the parts. On completion of 30 days, I recieved a call from Lenovo saying that my phone has been repaired and I could collect the same. On visiting HCL again, I was informed that my phone cannot be repaired and they will provide me a refund within another 15 days...Again on completion of 15 days, I called Lenovo and was told that they still had not recieved my documents (I have a reciept saying that I have submitted my docements) nevertheless I emailed my documents once and to HCL and waited for a week to call. On calling again today, Lenovo tells me that they still have not got my documents and I should call HCL and find out what happened. Its been 2 months now that I do not have a phone and have not gotten my refund. I request all potential buyers to not buy this phone or any phone from Lenovo. Do a Google Search on 'Lenovo P780 network problems' to find out for yourself.

Bought it 4 months before, was happy till now. It was perfect to my use. Excellent battery backup, dual sim , good display, build quality. But now its switching off every now and then, we know only when ppl are calling and telling to other friends phones. So I can't trust it now. Loved this phone so much, and now in dilemma because of this. And when switching it on again it will work properly. Anybody facing the same issue? Please comment....

Phone bought in December 2013. Some problem or the other nearly every weak. Headphones conked off after 4 months of use, informed that they carry a guarantee of three months only. Lately, cell found switched off nearly every morning. Refuses to restart and then on its own restarts. Took the cell to their service centre and was told that IT WOULD TAKE 18 DAYS TO REPAIR AS THEY HAVE TO PROCURE HARDWARE FROM HEAD OFFICE.
