Hello! It is the port problem and not the battery, but it seems that even if you were to have the port fixed the issue would either still persist or it will come back again because that's just how the phone is made; weak port. As for me, I'll be moving on to a new phone.

Hello everyone! I've been using Lenovo S930 for about two years now. Lenovo charger already dead after 6 months of purchase date. Lenovo Company does not have authorized service centre and parts non-available. For short term use (6 months) Lenovo is not bad. But do not buy for long term duration.

Don't buy Lenovo phones. They are just one year wonders. I am using Lenovo s930. It started giving problem just after one year. Torch starts automatically when I keep this phone in pant pocket. Keyboard types special charecters insead of letters. Lenovo luancher does not respond. I am so frustrated. My brother is law's 860 is not recognising sim card. The new 6000 series has so low ringtone volume that my father in law can not hear it ringing and always miss calls. These phone work fine only for a year. They advertise Lenovo Z2 Pro last year, where is that phone now ? Its off their list. So beware before bying lenovo phones or other china based company's phones.

Bought the S930 at the PC show about 12mth ago.Having this problem: 1)When touch the contact /phone icon, it takes about 2 minutes only the screen will shows up. 2) Each time when there is a unconnected call, it takes more than 2 minutes for the screen to appear before i can call again. Lastly i got to know that the device is actually not the export version which is why occasionally Mandarin characters appear during receiving unknown call and sometimes know call. The good (or the bad) part of Lenovo, is the charging port is prone to having problem. It is the connector pin that easy to loose, detached or break. Mine was having three times of faulty. But sending for warranty would take days. Fork out for minor repair would take less than half a day. Just go to any repair shop to replace the charging pin. Cost you RM60-80. They may do it in 2 hours. I is available for Lenovo, I did not ask for other brand, except Samsung, which require you to replace the whole IC.

Just to fix the charging problem and can't use USB to connect to my PC.When I connect my USB cable to my PC it does nothing!!! I got this device in March 2014, have been about 15-16 month...What can i tell you guys so far there's no problem with my device.SUPERB!! The battery still long lasting even after 1 year of usage with data turned on for every day.I don't need power bank to support the device.My battery still have about 30% juice after heavy usage from 8am-1am. The tips is not to turn on the data while charging and make sure to kill ram and unused apps always. No lagging issues and the camera works fine. Very satisfied with the device and worth my money!! Mine too. Find a good repairer. I had sent it to a service of charging port for 3 times (re-open and solder it back the wire). But its cause only RM10 per service. lenovo s930 sucks i have a very bad experince with lenovo and with its service center (Grow More Service Center pvt ltd) they kept cell phone for 15 days to repair and to change the battery and also change the mother board, after 15 days same issue with the battery and my cell phone getting hanged frequently even after repairing which i paid them Rs. 1500 for a battery only. i had to again visit the service center and they again kept my cell phone for trial. no solutions.

@BearBoy I can relate to ur stiuation. I bought this phone last December when Pacman was hosting the international 8 balls competition just to take some photos of d game. Camera was OK, the Sound is good however, just 4 months after, the charging port becomes a nightmare. Bending it a bit remedy the problem but it was worst after that as u can't charge anymore and ur phone becomes useless. I hope lenovo will fix this problem. Am using my apple iPod for 9 long years now and still the features are functioning well and are excellent. May lenovo find ways to improve its product and make us happy costumers.

A great device, I have it for three months now and I found it to be really fast in browsing and processing through different apps, Dolby sound is real and gives real pleasure to listening, stereo speakers are very loud and clear in sound, the removable 3000 mAh battery is a nice trick too, because you can have a spare battery on the go and replace your empty one instantly, the 6" display is more than enough to the eye, the device is noticeably thin and light in weight and very pocketable, you will find an enormous amount of features and smart tricks and tweaks inside..in short: very great phone, lenovo won't make one like this any time soon.

In Lenovo s930, (a) can different volume levels be set for ringing tone and message alert tone? (b) Suppose you are using ear phone and incoming call comes. Do you have an option so that u don't have to touch the phone and the incoming call gets connected after a pre-defined duration of ringing, say 5/10/15 seconds? Such options are specially helpful when you are travelling.

Please upgrade your version so that (a) I am unable to opt for automatic connection of incoming call after a chosen duration of ringing while ear phone is connected. (b) I am not able to monitor the flashlight to glow uninterruptedly, (c) I do not find the choice to set separate volume levels for ringing tone and message alert tone, (d) the ear phone provided with the smartphone should have been of higher standard with features for stop and play, forward and rewind, volume up and down, next and previous.

I got a Lenovo S930 last year, here's my personal experience/reviews: Camera (back) is superb!, camera (front) is ok in good lighting condition.. battery is great!.. HD movie recording is also superb! However, there are some cons noted: the lower right portion of the touch screen was detached months after i bought it, the power charging port was easily deformed and the last is that when i upgraded to kitkat, the camera (front) self timer was not present, its hard to take selfies..

Has been using S930 for a full 1 year. Finally has to get a replacement. Unfortunately S for this phone stand for slow and sluggish. Not really a big problem if you are really patient and slow and steady type of person. The good; 1. Superb stereo speaker which fairly loud. Not as loud as my wife Note II though. 2. Big and fairly neutral coloured screen. Of course S series Lenovo has the best screen among Lenovo phone even they are not full HD. Almost perfectly match resolution of most apps. 3. Battery capacity is quite good. The last at least from 7am to 6-10pm every day. Even with data plan, GPS always on. Has been using S930 for a full 1 year. Finally has to get a replacement. Unfortunately S for this phone stand for slow and sluggish. Not really a big problem if you are really patient and slow and steady type of person. The good; 1. Superb stereo speaker which fairly loud. Not as loud as my wife Note II though. 2. There's nothing I can do with it since I forgot to ask the owner of the shop whether this is local or ori before :( So I sent my phone to the shop and repair it under one year warranty. I wasted my money buying this ridiculous brand. First time using this brand and really upsets me. Using less than 6 months and there was so many problems i encountered. Used the warranty once to fix the charger hole on the phone. Its not fit enough when everytime i charge the phone. Loose. Then it was okay. After two weeks here it go again. Same problem. Really annoying. A friend of mine got the same phone and guess what?? Same problem!!!! I had to bend the charger thing on the hole for really hard and it makes it worse. Quality very poor. I'm using s930 for 9 months, i haven't found any problems on this device. Dual front facing speakers are great! I also upgraded my firmware to 4.4.2 and rooted it. It supports xposed modules without any issue.

Been using this phone for almost 8 months now. And so far, i haven't experienced any problem except for the battery problem which i soon resolved. You just need to calibrate the battery using the power manager and voila it fixes the problem. I hope it might work. Phone's just too big and the camera is okay, not great but overall it is a good phone for its price.

For all the users who wanted international ROM, flash to either row_s118 else row_119 then from there perform ota update based on your requirement. For me, both 4.2.2 vs 4.4.2 has its own good and bad area. Those who just updated to kitkat, make sure u backup all and perform a factory reset then put back everything after. BTW, YouTube latest update seems working fine with no lag or hiccups compare to earlier releases. Nothing is perfect on all Android devices. It's the matter of price vs usability vs quality vs optimization...e.g, Samsung may have had good overall hardware but let down by bloatwares thats why cooked roms r everywhere based on what's your preferences wanted to be to solve all these issues. Til now, never disappoint with my s930 and it's been my media tool everywhere I go. Handles all media files well n enjoy playing both fifa14 n Lionheart tactics so much ;) Cheers fellas ;)

This phone doesnt really break(screen) after an accidental dropped... It happened to mine 2x. Actually it depends on the height and impact on ur phone to the flor area. My advice is to get a protctive casing so that it wont slip easily on ur pocket/hands.

In my opinion, use the manual brightness seeting and let it stay on mid set, should help with battery life, use battery doctor again as I posted before. This phone is somewhat faulty even on original set so it seems. I am using an AP set not the original but still runs smooth like the original set, urm care to install Clean Master, Battery doctor and I thing you guys should also use Smart Launcher or Dodol Launcher. I am having connectivity issues from time to time but its no biggie. I think that is all i can say about my experience on this lenovo s930 of mine (AP set)

It is cheap and reliable at first since I never own a real android phone. the problem to time is you need to set the time to manual and automatic again, the connectivity needs time and perhaps some cleaning like cleaner master also for the battery I used Batter Doctor and charges 100% and mine is an AP set. Well, I own this phone too. It's not working as smooth as it used to be the first few weeks I had it. But so far, it has been good. My battery does drain faster especially when I use 3G signal to surf the internet. I think what could help save battery life though is closing all your apps properly because they could all be running at the same time which could eat up all the power from your phone. And it's best to keep the phone turned off when charging too. The only problem I am suffering now is that I bought a bluetooth shutter remote but it is not syncing to my phone neither on my brother's phone which is a lenovo p780. I downloaded camera360 as others say that that could be the solution and it still it is not working on my s930. Any ideas how I could fix this problem or can anyone recommend me a specific brand of bluetooth shutter remote that syncs to lenovo.

bought this model on June 21st. already have to factory reset it 2 times. (1) because too much garbage files from version update from the original version 4.2 to 4.2.2. (2) something happen, android device manager can not locate device & super lag and apps not opening. overall it's a good one, but sadly not with the battery behavior. pre-install battery calibration does not work, even now Du Battery Saver never reach the 100% too. even the voltage shows red (overcharged) but it never reach 100%. maybe Lenovo should pay more attention to the battery manufacturing. same problems with my Lenovo Z410 laptop too, battery check reports 94% wear out even with conversation mode on.

This is becoz u didnt calibrate ur phone. go to power manager, it shown a calibration button thr, when ur battery is lower then 15% ,charge it then press the button. The battery will stay longer and drain much more slower.Tis is becoz u had the problem, hope this help u :D sry for the broken english

Guys, I returned my S930 AP set and exchanged it to S930 Ori set. It was worth it. Interface looks better and crisper. The only thing that I still notice is that the GPS still seems to be rubbish. Still not accurate for me. (even when compared to my old iPhone 4) I strongly suggest you guys get an Ori set and not AP set. No offense to AP set owners out here and there but I am really disappointed with the English menu on my previous AP set, looks like it was translated using Google translate. Yes, the hardware is also original in AP set but the software/OS is just rubbish. I am telling you this because I don't want you guys to experience the same frustration I had with the AP set. Specially if you plan exchanging it to Ori set later on, on which you would probably lose money because of the trade-in.

I also got S930, I can instal Facebook without any problem. It does work with S930. Normally, the apps will be downloaded and installed automatically, if not, you may delete the apps first and download again. Problem still exists, ask for repair!

Oh my gosh!! I really love this phone.. Very cheap and superb sound quality.. At first, i'm think this phone gonna sucks lots of battery with its large screen.. But after using it for a month, this phone can hold 7 or 8 of Screen on Time with my heavy usage (always on 3G connection or wifi).. Big screen, stereo speaker, good battery life.. Hey Erfan, I have the same scenario as yours, I got an AP set 3 days ago and I want to trade it to Orig set, I've got bunch of problems with GPS (not accurate) and Wifi (disconnecting every) 1 minute. Although I still have to wait for a new stock because they said that they ran out of S930 Orig set. Is your Original set has Original Operating System from Lenovo and not the Chinese OS?

There are 2 version of the ROM, chinese rom(VIBE) and international rom(ROW aka Rest Of the World).. both are official but they are different.. If you buy AP set, u got chinese rom because they imported directly from china (not official distributor). If you bought from official distributor, you will get the international rom (which has Gapps, no chinese bloatwares, etc) So AP set = china set for hardware, china set = international set, there are no difference. but for software, china set != international set.. they have different ROM!! so check ur ROM first, which one did you get? VIBE or ROW..

For ur information, im using s930 right now... There is no other font style on it setting content... Just font size sir... So i tried many time install font style on playstore but it still cant replace the usual font... Yes samsung much esier to change font style, but my s930 i think its much better on gaming, watching movie, n listening mp3,it got dolby surround built in it... Im impress... It also less legging dear sir. Hope lenovo will improve about the font style choice... Anyway thank you sir.

hi, if u would like to change ur fon font, just change it from setting, make sure from setting ( default font by lenovo's system). but pls dont download any font from google play, im having bad experienced with my prev lenovo a706, after i changed the font, my fon restarted by itself and cant even on back, i changed my fon 3 times ready and still having same issue. u may try install from 3rd party, but i cant give u any guarante since im now using samsung ready.pls tell us yr experience

hello to all, I also recently buy this phone and facing certain problem. 1. have superuser but no root access 2. no menu icon to open menu and no lotus gadgets (like previous version) 3. in contact there is some Chinese languange. after doing some browsing i manage to find the solutions 1. root access go to then click pc icon to root from pc or android icon to download root apk it can be easier to install it to phone and run the apps. (yes Chinese language u can figure it out use try and error) 2. menu icon go to and click download button, to download latest launcher for your lenovo.(menu button, lotus gadgets) 3. last but not least Chinese word at contact (u should update contact to latest version. Notification about new update will appear sometime) after done update, go to contact,click menu button at left side pick "features and setting", choose "location" click off for "display number's location" that all sorry for long review hope this will help u all..i was enjoy with this phone even certain error or lack of something but reasonable with the price.

Well.. If you dont like chinese ROM, you can flash to Stanner ROM, made by russian forummer.. It is more stable and got not chinese language.. I guess rm250, is about 80usd right.. Thats a huge loss.. :)

Mistakenly posted at Lenovo S920 site. Actually it is for S930 model. Just bought this phone yesterday from OneGadget -RM699 (AP set). But the workers there are quite rude because they have so many customers. And then the two years warranty just cover for motherboard only, the rest only three months. Even I wanted to purchase another battery (as back-up) they did not have, and I need to order from China. WTF. Quite impressive with the phone. Feel faster than my Galaxy Note 2 and it is unbelievable light. The rest are just similar to my Galaxy Note 2 (make sure you close all unused applications since the RAM only 1GB). On this moment,cannot comment on the gaming performance since not yet installed any. The drawback of this phone, the camera and video quality just average or below, Youtube very lag (not because of connection), even I selected English language but there are still so many Chinese word in menu instead of English. I would say this phone worth every single cent for what you pay. If possible try to get the original set from authorized distributor.

This phone is great. The screen is large, sharp n bright enough. Only at night the brightness could be too much for some eyes. But easily solved by screen filter apps. I have more than 10 whatsapp groups, multiple wechat groups and run full data and 2 sims all the time. the phone never hangs or lags. My last Sam**** high end phone also hangs under such tremendous usage. The camera also have quick reload compared to my last phone. Playing games is excellent. Asphalt 7 runs smooth. Audio & speaker, second to non compared to any hp on the market. Overall, with the price, worth every penny.

Actually, you can access Developer options simply by clicking continuously the Firmware version under the Settings>>About Phone tab. Regarding the internal storage, this quite normal with all manufacturers. My Xperia SP has 5.8GB availble memory, even though the specs say 8GB internal memory. Samsung S4 Mini only has 4.7GB, which is the WORST phone ever with bloatware! Luckily, Lenovo S930 has the option to install apps directly to SD card so internal memory becomes irrelevant for me.

Just been a full 24hrs, but the entire system is in chinese, and even though I chose my language as English, all of the apps and others are in Chinese plus the entire system is under some Chinese system, not as per what other android using phones are. There is no Google store installed and even my touch keypad is in a form of a China-phone. I contacted the shop from where I bought and the guy told me the english software is not uodated yet and asked me to come by next week. Overall, this is a good phone but the specification maybe wrong, would suggest people to pay attention at storage capacity, GSM spec stat its 8gb but ended up less than that. If you buy phone for Youtube, this is definitely not your choice, youtube is laggy. But performance wise is consider better than lower ranked phone if you prefer a budget line big screen phone, my advise is not to view video with this phone. Without access to developer options is definitely a con, as there are use who prefer to kill all task running on background. Touch screen wise is consider at standard, some laggy when you drag the console from top to bottom. User may had to perform that action fast so they couldn't feel the lag. The music player, obtain free access to download music is a great idea for user, giving us alternative options to download music for free instead of buying. Well, i personally haven't try that. Camera wise is acceptable, picture is automatically adjust to maximum quality. In my standpoint, this is superb. Music output, the built in software, DOLBY is enhancing music output at maximum quality. Would recommend that so much, and if you want to boost your music experience. Make sure you buy good handsfree like beats or razer hammerhead.

Hi guys, I used to run 2 maxis sin in my Lenovo S920, sim1 postpaid with 3G, sim2 maxis prepaid running 2G. The problem occur when 1 change my sim1 to Celcom postpaid. I googled, and found that some Lenovo phones not compatible with Celcom 3G, at some areas. I plan to buy this S930 if it can run Celcom 3G simcard. Please advice. For original/normal people with superuser access, you don't need to 'use' it like an apps... it works like a gate or granting manager when you install some apps that required 'root' as an option. Superuser: like a administrator or you have a complete control on your machine, in this case, your phone. The more control you to the phone, as you can do anything, change it, use it, change it again.. ect...ect.. Root -superuser- is really useful for "supermen" who like to fly away out of their boundary as long as they know how to fly, where to fly and how to land it safely. As for us -original people with superuser access- hopefully we don't damage the system inside :P Example: as simple as changing font --> some font apps need root phone so when you install that apps, there will be superuser box asking for granted that installation. You just need to click 'granted' or 'OK'... something like that... That's all we do! If you want to do MORE, make sure you know what are you doing.. or else...? :D

Don't know why you're facing so many issues buddy. Mine is working just perfectly even though mine is also an AP set. No problems with charging, predictive text, sd card installation etc etc. I've been playing high end games like Injustice, Asphalt 8, GTA etc non-stop without lag/crash, not to mention the amazing dual speakers. Bottom line, I'm very happy with this phone.

I tried that also but cannot.. but you can make a folder to loop in the apps in your selected desire name, such as network, media, social, tools, games... depending on you like :). Looks more neat [at least to me]... How to do? 1. click and hold 1 apps, example like "Whatsapp" 2. bring it to "WeChat" icon, it will automatically create a folder. 3. Then you can drag in other chat apps or any icon you like into that folder. 4. To un-crate the folder, you just need to drag out back all apps, out of the box. Hope this will help! :D

In setting already changed to english but in some applications it still shows chinese language.. for whatsapp & we chat, the notification sometimes didn't appear.. besides the time always suddenly stop and i need to go back to the setting to refreshed back the time..any solutions??

1. Need to off phone for fast charging. At night left it on while charging but power increased by 18% only after 7 hours!! I went to shop again for 2nd battery change. Was told that some other customers have same battery issues. Apparently same production batch with mine. They will give me replacement battery. 2. Predictive text - already managed to turn it off. Finally... 3. Youtube - I didn't do anything but now the video quality is much much better. Auto update JAVA perhaps? 4. But some video streaming still doesn't work. Tried opening it using Firefox etc. instead of Chrome but still doesn't work.

i use s930 from 6/2/14. import set from china price rm765. i just know it rooted coz i see coment bout superuser n i have 1. mine problem battry not good enough from full charge to 90% so fast but lucky still can use about 6hour then left 5%. then 2nd problem bout notification wechat n whatsapp. i just get chat if i open the app if not i cant see new chat. but sometime i get the notification. so far i love this phone cheap n big n not so bad.

So your phone is rooted. If you browse through Play store, u can find certain apps require rooted device. But I doubt u would really need 1..... Anyways, predictive text is in Keyboard & input tab in the all settings tab. Just turn off the word suggestions and what not. Even better, download a keyboard app from play store that'll suit ur taste....Iphone keyboard would suit ur taste i think.

What's the name of the shop?? Root means you'll have the administrator control over the device......for example, you can uninstall some unwanted pre-installed apps in your phones, Flash a custom ROM, tweak the device settings, transfer apps to sd etc etc. Do u see an app called 'Superuser' in ur phone? If yes, it means ur phone is already rooted.

Bought it for MYR769 (AP with 2 years warranty) abt a week ago. My experience: 1. Already changed the batt yesterday(under warranty of course). Problem was phone needs to completely drain and shut off before you can recharge. Won't recharge when batt. is low, say 10% etc. Also, during recharging, phone needs to be off otherwise batt. level will not go up if you recharge while phone is on. Thought it was a problem with batt. but new replacement batt. also gives this problem. I don't like to shut down phone during charging coz I may miss certain important calls. Is yours like this too? Worse still, I am using dual sim hence both phone don't work during charging. 2. Video(e.g. Youtube)quality is poor as compared to my old phone Note 1. It's like you are watching VCD kinda quality. Blurry edges of moving pictures. 3. Some video streaming doesn't work, e.g. Utusan Online. Plays for 5 secs then "Streaming media player error!". Didn't have this problem when same video was played on my Note 1 or Tab 2 or iPad 2 for that matter. 4. Can someone show me how to turn off predictive text?

Bought S930 with trade-in for G_Grand. My Grand was slowing down drastically so which is only a dual core was out of the question. Pros: 1) Big Screen and just nice for browsing,email reply; 2) No lags and very good battery life. Will last a day for normal usage. My Nexus 5 only last until evening; 3) Some good apps included eg. "Cleanup" by pressing it will kill task and release ram. Cons: 1) Camera requires slight improvements. Bad on moving shots; 2) Slow on GPS due to Mediatek processor. Well, at the price of RM 999 - 1099; its worth it especially its battery life.

Generally this phone is ok,but need to constantly clearing unused apps if not it will lag a bit while scrolling through apps. The supplied earphone look nice with flat cable and in ear design. unfortunately the sound quality is below average - compared to my old Huawei P1 earphone and Soundmagic E10 earphone. Even earphone from lowly Lenovo A369i sounds better. It support 1080P video.

with internet data plan or wifi continously on my s930 battery usually last until about 10-11pm with 20-30% left. with very heavy use it can last up to about 6pm with 20-30% left. mostly depend of your own usage. but I can guaranty that most user will be able to use their s930 until after office hour.

Whatsapp can work with only one sim at a time coz the verification is done through that number. 2 instances of the same app cannot be installed hence whatsapp works with 1 of the two sims (the verified one)

Just bought the phone from The Mines, Malaysia. Before that I am comparing with Huawei Ascend Mate (same price/screen size)and Lenovo K900(slightly more expensive Lenovo flagship model). Pros; 1.Good battery life (3000mAh-replacable/removable). I use it from 7AM before going to work and only need to charge it at midnight usually with 15-30% battery capacity left. All with permanent internet data /wifi on. Lenovo P780 and Huawei Mate have bigger 4000mAh capacity. 2.Front stereo speaker is awesome. Never missed ringtone while phone in pocket.Also worked well for watching video/movie etc. 3.Totally pocketable and feeling the present all the time in business pant. And slim profile further help this even with hard case on.It is even lighter than Lenovo P780 or Huawei Mate. With small phone like my previous Huawei P1 I keep on searching whether the phone is still in the pocket. 4. Old school video call. Missed it on my 2 previous android phone- Xperia Ray/ Huawei P1. 5.Old school call profile available-Meeting,General,Silent,vibrate. 6. Can choose microSD/external card as your main memory. This also available on my Huawei P1. So I expect it present in all Huawei/Lenovo phone. Unfortunately not in Samsung/Xperia phone. 7. 2 SIM (mini SIM). Unfortunately I heard that using 2nd SIM is not a very pleasant experience for other Lenovo phone. Cons; 1. 1GB RAM somehow limited for multitasking , need to keep on clearing unused apps to make sure phone functioning smoothly. If more RAM needed get yourself Huawei Mate/ K900. 2. camera image quality generally is not as good as my Huawei Ascend P1- but still acceptable and extremely fast to focus and save. 3. Bundled earphone with flat cable looks very good but audio quality still far behind my Soundmagic E10 or even my previous Huawei P1 earphone.. 4. Still learning with new OS 4.2.2 vs OS 4.0 in Huawei P1. Suddenly every apps appeared on front navigation window! Any way to hide it like old OS? 5.Charger pin position is reversed from other phone, so have to really remember to slot in at the correct position (broader side up).

My wife just bought me this phone for MYR870 or appoximately like USD270. Its an awesome phone, as big as Samsung Mega but with basic minimal specs. Come pre rooted. No lag, nice camera and awesome battery life. I can use this phone with full 3G and dual sim running for like 10-12hours before it needs recharging. Powerfull 3D performance, can play asphalt 8, Shadowrun, Nova 3, Modern Combat 4, without lag. And awesome budget phone. Dont buy MTK samsung clone. you will regret it. Buy Lenovo phone if you're in thight budget but need a powerfull smartphone

What theeee is wrong with you? The Mate is 440 euro vs 310 for the Lenovo. And the processor of the Mate is Huawei, and the fact that runs on 1.5Ghz vs 1.3 it's not a thing, that can make it better. The RAM is doubled, but the Emotion UI is absolute shit, so go and compare again. WOW.
