LG CU515 - User Reviews

  • This phone's stats are incorrectly reported. If you dial 277634#*#, you bring up a debug menu. One of the sub-menus is a FCC testing menu, which has "2100MHz" under "WCDMA". This phone almost certainly supports UMTS 2100 (IMT Band I).

  • I love this phone, But a year ago, i got a tiny crack in it on the top left side, and as of yesterday, the whole top came off, and now i can't use it at all.. I have been trying to look forthis cell again, and decided to search through the internet, because i'm unable to get it through my carrier.. it's discontinued When i saw that i'm able to purchase it again, i was thrilled.. I so love this phone. It's basic just what i like. I can't get use to the iphone's etc.. I'm just not ready for it.. But i'm not seeing a price for it.. Sorry there are other people that don't like this.. Thank you internet :O)

  • This phone sucks, i've had it not even a year and the front screen is out, the main screen backsout most of the time, it shuts off whenever ut wants, and the battery is deffected as well as the whole phone! Anone would be better off without this piece of crap phone!!

  • The phone is all i needed. it accepts many cheats on code for free browsing unlike s40 nokia, sonyerrison. is awesome i recommend it for its battery performance(at least it can last up to 9 days if undisturbed) screen resolution is simple. easy buttons fastness and memory(it can perform upto 6 applications at a time) finally its moderate nekwork. bad sides...d talk mic isnt much sharp.be careful your hands could cause it too! the camera it too faint when u are snaping inside. pls if u have some trobleshooting and codes for lg phones plz dont fail to contact me. +2348034838794 Nigerian. i love Lg phones esp this one its simple to use and its very strong

  • It's a solid phone and has been mostly good to me, though for those of us with quieter voices, the microphone doesnt pick up as well as most (also easy to absentmindedly cover the mic with fingers) and i've also had difficulty with reception randomly dropping. i like the SD card slot, web browser and screen resolution/color is good; though I do often find myself missing my older, though simple LG. be prepared for little idiosyncracies such as: no option to turn off volume but keep alarm on?! Overal, it's a good phone if you dont want a smartphone but want something more than just the most basic phone, including basic web-browser for news/email.

  • How do you assign ringtones to contacts in your address book,I have looked in the manual and gone through the phone menu and there is no simple way to do it

  • it may be that you just have a defective phone. if you returned the first one under a manufacturer's warranty, chances are that you received a refurbished replacement phone. i know that it seems very coincidental that you received 2 defective phones, but it can happen. i had that issue with a phone before. the problems that you are describing sound like a software issue. my fiance has had this phone for about 6 months and has had no problems. as with all things, there are always a few bad ones in the bunch. :)

  • This phone is an ok phone. The signal is terrible...it comes and goes as it pleases...i like the phone its not a bad phone...its not very durable.......i have had it for 6 months and its already having problems with the front screen and inside screen! im no getting another one!!!

  • Both my wife and I have this phone. She has not had a problem but as for me! 2nd phone and same annoying problem. When I open it, the screen comes up with the calculator or calender or address book or just about anything else and will not clear unless you close the darn thing. It really gets to me when I have to make a quick all from work. they do not let us use them so I have to hide.

  • i like this phone so much..i works great!!!...and the keypad???....i love it!!..its so easy to use..

  • I like this phone but it's not very loud when playing music, i'm always deleting messages as it can only hold 90 in both in and sent box, plus the front can get scratched easily. But besides that it's a great phone. I love how it comes in purple! :)

  • This phones alright, it doesnt SUCK, I've never had talking problems with it. Great picturing too.

  • This phone SUCKS! The features are okay and everything but wow... it's so annoying when I'm saying something important and the reply I get is "I'm sorry, I can't hear you." or "Can you repeat that?" No, it's not my service. I never had this problem with my old phone which has no camera, no MP3, or any features. Unless you like to repeat yourself, I do not recommend this phone. FYI, I'm located in Philadelphia, PA.

  • you can use mp3 as your ring tones nut they can only be small in size. up to 0.6 from memory so try cutting the size of the track and iit is possible

  • Have the Canadian Rogers version. Great little phone. Have no problems playing music, taking pictures and videos or surfing the net on the 3g network. Only gripe I have is I can't get youtube mobile. Rogers has a $7 a month unlimited data plan for regular phones. Surf all the time, just cant get videos. A buddy of mine has a Sony Ericsson K850i on the same plan and can watch all the youtube mobile he wants.

  • This LG CU515 is the best phone for the money very good network. very easy to use

  • The reception can't hold a candle to the Moto KRZR K1. You can't make mp3's your ring tone, like you can with the KRZR K1. It's not even close in quality. I'm going to switch my SIM back and use my old phone.

  • CU/TU 515 is very much a copy of CU/TU 500. It's a 3G configuration here in Australia. It's not LG best ever phone, I bought this because of it's powerful network provider. No doubt it's very simple to use however you can tell it's not the best phone by LG. While there is not much to dislike you cannot use full MP3 player music you download as a ringtune- it will say "track too long for ringtune" Invariably you have to cut down on the size of the ring tune. The other thing I dislike is that whatever wallpaper you downloaded it will only display midlength of the screen ie not the whole screen and to me is rather a design flaw. If i know it is the same as the TU/CU 500 series phone I would not have get it.

  • This phone very good it easy to use.

  • Canada's TU515 is indeed better. Video calling works really well on it. Less physical branding too :P

  • The Canada version for rogers is better, it has colour external screen, video call, and external music controls.
