It just took me a glimpse to appreciate the phone because of its simple nature, but i was disappointed when i discovered that it does no accept full track music as a ringtone. This phone has a very good design. It looks expensive and sophisticated. But the downside of it. -No 3.5mm jack -Poor Speakers -Poor texting capabilities -Poor Display in daylight condition -Poor Battery life -NO PROFILES for Silent, discreet, Load etc usually found on all mobile phones. -ATNT wants you to buy everything. I am using it here in the Philippines. I have to hack it so that i can use my own browser and applications because there is no ATNT in Philippines. GOOD SIDE. Nice Cam compared to other 2mp cam with flash. Great built quality.

This phone does more than you pay for. It has great battery life, strong metal body, plus a mirror to convince my girlfriend she's beautiful.(i ended up loosing it to her) The Camera, for 2mp is great. Both videos and pictures look stunning. Apart from the fact that it has a limited file size for mp3 ringtones......i don't know about you, but all that glitters is gold!

this is a badass phone. i dont know why they stopped selling them. i had one but i got wet so i had to get a new phone. i ended up getting the lg vu (which is a pretty good choice), but i would have rather gotten the shine.

Hi, I strongly recommend you to visit Nokia Site, they have the best phones ever, good battery life, sometimes you will charge you phone every two days!!!!, no every two hours like others. Text is good, and it have a lot features you will love. The only thing camera in Nokia is not good. But other than that you won't be disappointed. I hope my answer will help you out. Well, the phone looks nice, but battery life is poor; scratch easily ;it's difficult to hear the other person in the phone when somebody calls me, I actually have to call them back from my house phone; and try to text from this one is awful. But if you want a phone that take great pictures, and works only as a camera, then you can buy it. I strongly recommend this phone as a camera ONLY.

i have one of these and it SUKS... had it for nearly a year.. it has an extremly cheap screen that scratches really easy, and it will randumly miss calls, turn off, and sometimes when o a phone call it you sundly wont bable to hear eachother. it looks cool and it has a good camera and good sound quality but thats about all!!!

How did this phone get such good ratings? The battery is terrible if you are a heavy user like me, the reception is sub-par and the first one I got had a defect where it would shut off when I closed it. I do like the fact that you can put a memory card in it but you can only use ring tones for calls and alarms. The back gets scratched REALLY easily and you will be polishing the screen a lot. I wouldn't recommend this phone.

Im not sure you can. Best thing to do is to change the validity period. that will auto delete text messages after a period of time. Menu> Messages> Settings> Text Message> Validity Period

this phone honestly is one of the worst phones i ever had, it shuts down on its own if you slide it closed.. so much more problems such as battery life after a month of using the battery life is short.. when you text the phone delays the keys so you wont see what your writing untill 5 seconds later! it fricken sucks!

Open your contact list and then if you want select 1 or more( should give you the option to do it for ALL) It should say something like "Copy>>All to Sim" it will only take a few moments to do so, and Voila your contacts are all on your sim cards. Also when you go to "create" and save a contact on your phone it has the capability ( GIVES YOU THE OPTION) to save it on the phoen or simcard. aswell if you want i did this with my phone. i made a duplicate. which means that i have a copy on my phone either way and on my sim card. i have like 4 phones with Rogers. w580/ LG shine/ Motorola Krazer and the BlackBerry Pearl 8100.

Yes you have to have the phone on for the alarm to go off, and if you use it to wake up and people call you at night just turn on airplane mode which disables data (calls/texts etc.) and you should be fine.

How do i back up my contact list? This should be easy but the only software I found: bitpim, does not list lg cu720. the phone limits me to 500 contacts but every number (ie cell home work) is a separate contact. If I cannot export and import my contact list, this phone is .... a major disappointment. Help.

just use the lg pc suite while the usb connection is in data service mode. locate the pics you want transfferd whether in the sd card or phone and drag to the desktop.

i have this phone .. but some features of this phone SUCKS ! because you cant set your MP3 music as a ringtone.you also cant set your recorded voice as an alarm tone .. the speaker is too SLOW .. but the memory is too HIGH .. its still ok .. i also love this phone !! :))

this phone is amazing the whole feel of the phone is simply astounding. only 2 cons of the phone so far..the joystick is very sensitive so you have to apply limited pressure and also the keypad, the keypad is clustered and somewhat hard to press (in my opinion)

i have the phone.. You "CAN'T" use the whole Mp3 as a ringtone. But its no Big deal since you won't wanna listen to the whole song while someone is calling you. What is the point? You're going to answer it anyways. You can't use the whole MP3. Just download a Ringtone from the part of the song thats good enough.. Overall the phone is Good..

The phone is GOOD but i won't say its excellent. Its a phone for people who just want to have a cool looking phone. That brings a good package with it. The features is pretty solid. The sound quality is good but not that loud compared to a motorola razr.Over all the sound quality is pretty decent. The camera is 2 megapixel. But since the lense is made by Schneider Kreuznech. The photo quality is higher than average. The pictures are really clear and has a good quality. The scroll is not that annoying for me. Its actually cool i think. The phone gets scratch easily though. So buy a cover for the screen. Over all the phone is good.

Is TU720, by the way, better than I expected, is not for people who like their phones to be lite, this one is heavier than N95, or RZOR, is made of steel, carefully do not put your wet or sweat hands on the back cover, it will look dirty,I recommend other colours, pink or black.Reception and signal very good, video call acceptable, tv very good, also radios and internet, for it's screen size.Only one problem, the central 5 ways button too sensitive.

battery life is wonderful and the 3g is frickin amazing!!! it's a really fast satisfactory phone... the media player isn't anything to write home about though.... it's a pretty design... make sure the bluetooth is working correctly when you recieve it though, and make sure the screen doesn't wobble too much from the body... if it does lg will send you a new one in trade...

I bought the LG shine November,2007. It's a beautiful phone. The 2 problems I had with it were 1. bluetooth did not work well with the Shine. 2. The phone turns off automatically. The only way you turn it on again is to take the battery out, then put it back in & then turn the phone on. Other than that, it works pretty well & is a nice eye catching & sturdy phone.

theres not much difference between the shines. this shine wit the circular thingie is a bit thicker than the other shine and also a bit crappier. on the other hand the other shines are thinner. theres one with the front and back camera and one with only one camera... other than that they all function the same

Really nice phone - looks great and feels great. Unlike most other phones out there which are made up of mostly plastic, this one actually has some substance to it. Screen is gorgeous and the camera is great too. My only gripe with the phone is the somewhat bad call quality. It is passable, but not as good as the call quality of my old Sony Ericsson. (an inferior phone in all other aspects) The keypad isn't that great, but I don't do any texting, so it doesn't really matter for me.

yes to answer u can just press the blue nub at the side( lg calls the blue nubs the phone's eyes). There is no need to slide it open to anwser a call.

My phone works well and stays charged for 2-3 days depending on talk time. Keys are small but am getting used to them, and scrolling was a challenge for a while but now is okay. Would like to find a couple more a little cheaper than at cingular store.

It's been a couple of months with this thing, and it's a mixed bag. It's my only phone, so I use it a lot. PROS: 1. The display: big and bright; great mirror effect when dark 2. Call quality and reception; good speakerphone 3. Connectivity: 3G and even Edge - make sure to get the free Opera Mini browser 4.0 - immediately - the standard browser is not very good 4. Bluetooth, Java and MicroSD card slot: very few restrictions, good performance, hot-swappable card, surprising amount of on-board memory, too. 5. The design and buid quality: LG really hit it out of the park with this one! Sleek, stylish and solidly built, the phone has an appealing heft and quality feel to it. CONS: 1. The menus: More than anything, the menus are the biggest disappointment. Illogically or greedily designed - with very limited customization (as opposed to my old Moto V551 or Razr V3 which lets you customize almost everything) and no way to put icons on the main screen, one has to fit what they do to the idiosyncracies of the phone, rather than tailor the phone to fit the user. It often borders on the exasperating. I'm waiting on a software fix (or hack) to help alleviate this a bit. 2. The keypad: Not as bad as some say, but it's not that great, either. It takes some getting used to. The T9 predictive text is kinda crappy, IMHO. 3. The joystick controller area: Again, not too bad, and you'll get used to it. Yet I'd have gladly given up some of the mirror finish area for a decent D-pad between the smartkeys (with the "call" & "end" buttons moved beneath the smartkeys instead of crowding the keypad). 4. Battery life: The cost of 3G and all the other features, I gather. Not really an issue if you recharge it at least every other day, but deactivate the 3G if you're gonna be away from the charger for a while. 5. Ringtone size limit: Mp3 ringtones no larger than 300kb?!?! Pretty ridiculous and makes no sense at all. Thankfully, I'm used to creating small mp3 ringtones for my old Moto phones, using Audacity. OVERALL: A mixed bag - excellent build quality and performance and a stunning design are almost ruined by poorly designed menus and cramped controls. Get the Opera Mini 4 browser, though - it'll transform your browsing experience with this phone. So I'm keeping this phone, for now. Hopefully a fix, hack or upgrade will come soon for the software. That I'm already thinking about my next phone is not a good sign, though.

I just go this phone less than a week ago and already returning it after 2 days of use. I have a few complaints about it. I was surprised to see how difficult it was to open with one hand, mainly because it is so sleek, your fingers have nothing to grip. The other thing is that because it is so sleek and shiny, i'm constantly wiping it to keep smudge marks off. It does boast a large viewing screen compared to others, but it is completely unprotected, so it becomes easily scratched. Navigation is a little difficult too. I was surprised to see there were such few ring tones to choose from and the speaker level on the intercom was not that impressive compared to others. Lastly, it is quite heavy and thick compared to others. My opinion is not based on perfomance so I cannot comment on that. I thought Id really like the look, but then found it was not practical FOR ME. Maybe you'll have better luck.

The "circle" is a joystick. I just got this phone. It is very nice. It can take up to a 4 GB memory card (wish it could use the 8GB cards). Don't waste your money on the program DataPilot, it does not support this phone. ALso, it isn't needed to do music sync from Windows Media Player - just need the cable. I don't know how to sync to Outlook yet.

I have had this phone for 10 days and I am getting a replacement from Rogers, Java apps are screwed up. If you play music it will lock up after 1 or 2 songs. However, if you play music thru media menu, its flawless. Call Roger's customer retention number with this problem, you will likely get a replacement with new Java installed. I hope this helps. Personally, I like this fon.

Yes only the Rogers Version of this phone sold in Canada will be able to do live Video calling. The AT&T version does not have the front camera.

this phone is beautiful and it stops there. java is locked for some reason. you cannot use your own apps or games. and personal mp3 ring tones are limited to 300 kb. there are workarounds for both but why bother? if you don't mind the two reasons not to buy it, then it's a great phone hands down.

Actually the AT&T version has Video Calling as well. It is known as Video Share in the US, and AT&T is the only provider that supports such service.

I like this phone. Sucks because the battery life isn't very long if you talk a lot on it, so you'll have to charge it a lot. I have small fingers so the whole keypad being crowded doesn't bother me. I love the sound on it and the way the looks. True the joystick is difficult to handle, but i think after you use it for a while you'll just more used to it and be able to handle it better. ^^

The U.S. AT&T version (CU720) and the Canada Rogers version (TU720) have replaced the roller navigation with the joystick/scrollwhell due to complaints with the original roller. The newer navigation is a small circle that spins 360 degrees. Also, they made a bit more space for the Call, clear, and end buttom for more space. Both of the North American versions have HSDPA and include microSD card slots, but only the Canada-Rogers version supports Video Calling. Also, they dropped the Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens.
