LG G3 is absolute garbage. A couple of faint yellowish spots on display appeared after a year (unknown issue) and later the dreaded flickering fade-to-black display problem due to the CPU overheating. Applied every fix available (paper over camera connection, installed heat sink under motherboard, etc.) and replaced the display. No problem with spots on the display but the fade-out display issue periodically returned to the point that the phone in unusable.

I used this phone for 2 years and suggested to buy that to all my friends. suddenly without any reason it started to fade and stopped working very soon. LG service center didn't even accept it to check and said it won't be repaired. I will never buy any LG device.

Like other siblings(even new one), LG G3 has screen flickering issue. Unfortunately, I didn't check the internet, I trusted LG, but I was completely wrong like other Lg G3 users(and G4, and G5..................and Lg Q7 users). I tried almost everything on the internet. Doesn't work. It's most expensive junk in my house for years. I will never ever buy a LG phone again. If you going to buy a LG phone, just search LG xx flickering issue on the net. LG never learn how to fix it.

Taking it apart and sticking a 0.5mm thermal pad on the SoC helps a ton, take it from someone that's been riding mine hard in hot weather!

Mine died with a struggle. Heating up and flickering. LG didn't admit it. But many LG G3 suffered same problem.

You can't use a 5-year old phone as if it were a computer or playing havy games designed for 2018 hardware. Mine is nearly five years old and works perfectly except some overheating when recording videos or playing recent games on it. So either use it as a secondary appliance or spend the right amount of money on a new heavy duty phone.

I am only using Facebook, but it tends to overheat even after using it for only 15 minutes. The camera shuts down because of the heat after 5 mins of continous filming.

A terrible phone; almost half of G3s died of the totally underpowered chipset causing overheating and fatal death of the motherboard. LG knew this but still released the G4 with almost the same issue !sadly a brand definitely to avoid ...no other option, too bad.

Bought my G3 on May 2016 and this far its been a huge disappoinment. Its so slow, overheating and the 16gb internal space isnt enough for apps, although it depends what kind of user you are. In general, this phone has given me too much extra stress over the years and im giving it up soon. Never gonna buy q LG phone again.

Best phone ever. Beautiful pics. Crisp and clear screen. Techology ahead of the most mobiles...especially for when it just came out. Removable memory sin card. You can add plenty of memory in additon to what it comes with. Screen face is nice and big..comes all the way to all the edges. No front button. Well engineered. LG - well done

This is honestly the best phone I ever had and today, after 3 and a half years of faithful service, my poor G3 finally gave out. I'm so sad to say goodbye. :'( I love this phone and used it heavily since I got it. The screen is just gorgeous, the back camera takes amazing photos (even panoramas!), the sound quality is great, it felt great to hold (all those curves made it super comfortable) and I know people complain about the battery life, but I always kept a power bank nearby so battery was never a problem for me. I bought my G3 mid 2015 I visited 2 LG service centres during it's lifetime. One in March 2017, and they were SO HELPFUL I'M HONESTLY SO GRATEFUL TO THE LG TEAM THEY ORDERED A NEW MOTHERBOARD FOR ME ALL THE WAY FROM KOREA!!! my phone was good as new! And a different service centre a few weeks ago but unfortunately they couldn't help me because LG has aleady stopped production of this model so it's not possible to get new parts anymore. I'm sad but it's understandable, this phone came out in 2014 and now we're on the verge of 2019. Most phones only have a life cycle of 2 years. Anyway! I just want to say thank you to LG for an amazing phone and amazing customer service. I will definitely be looking up the G6 and G7 as candidates for my next phone. May you have plenty success with all your great prodcuts. :)

The only problem i see with the screen is that it spends a lot of battery when using it, the brightness can be ajusted, if you turn the auto mode off, you can put it max brightness, but be ready for less usage time if you do

i have mine since 2015, broke 2 screens and replaced it myself, rooted it and put it back again with no root with factory reset, and neve had a bluescreen or any problems exept for the bad use of it and breaking it maybe your problem is not the phone but the things you put on it and the way you treat it maybe you need to learn how to use it without breaking it

My brother has been using this for more than 3 years. As I see, this phone is a long lasting device and it has a awesome camera. But when it comes to screen, it is not very good. It has a low max brightness with poor sunlight legitibility. The colors are a bit too dull compared to OLED screens. This phone has a very practical and nice design. It has a very good sound quality. (doesn't have stereo speakers, though) It supports QuickCharge 2.0 which makes the phone fully charge less than 2 hours. Fast charging support balances relatively poor battery life.

I bought this phone in December 2015. It was working fine until May 2017 when one day I was using WhatsApp and a blue screen appeared and it completely died. Did everything I could, but I was unsuccessful. It never turned on again. I had issues with the battery. Sometimes it would take forever to charge. There were heating issues as well. But the screen was impressive as hell. It was very clear, smooth and beautiful to look at. I sometimes miss this phone. The dead one is still with me hoping it would come back to life again!

I have been using this phone for about three years, and I have to say that the display is very crisp and it's one of the best out there. The only downsides are that the phone needs pretty frequent battery replacements if you are a heavy phone user. You'll need to replace the battery when it starts to turn off by itself. If multiple apps are used, the phone tends to overheat.

I had the same problem, but luckly during the warranty period. They replaced the mainboard, and everithing still works fine. another issue was the short daily battery life in 2015, but they fixed it after some months with updates. But after that, fast recharge with other smartphones' charger wasn't allowed anymore. The screen is so fuckin crazy. I've smashed it in every possible condition, on stones, iron, wood, asphalt, but Gorilla Glass 3. is stronger. No scratches guys.

I've been using a G3 for years and it's a great phone. I flashed Bliss on it the day I got it and it's never given me a single problem. The battery life is incredible and it can sit idle for about a week without needing a charge. With regular daily use (phone, SMS, email and music), I only need to charge it every other day.

its garbage phone. very bad experience with LG. Just put the phone in charge in my office after few minutes it completed dead. when try to power on only LG logo appear. then turned off itself. i changed the battery but same. when try to goto download mode(Flashing mode) after few second turn off itself.. don't buy LG phones.

I face the same hitting problem. I face another problem that is there is the process android process acore has stopped. That's why it doesn't display the contacts list or dial pad. it is not fully eliminated through doing clear data of contact storage. it's very disturbing and continuously appeared in a few seconds. the other function is ok.

Yes, i too have LG G3, which is struck by two deadly diseases, first the screen will flicker and go block and repeatedly striking of power button will not help. Secondly it has network problem. At random the G3 will not show network even when sim is inserted. I am really struggling to get it repaired. Only answer can be buying of some old mobile from market,and replacing its motherboard screen etc.

Got my second LG G3 H855 running LineageOS 7.1.2 super fast!!! The first one died because of CPU failure. Just remember to let it rest when overheating. Beside that, it's a true machine!

I'm quite surprised how well this phone holds up. had mine since 2015 and used it for almost a year then sold it to my brother and he used it for about a year as well. then I got him a zenfone 3 max 5.5 as a gift and he gave the G3 back to me.xD I switch to it as my daily driver from time to time and I must say it's still holding well to this day. I guess it depends how much of a heavy-user the owner is. I use my phone mainly for texting, calls, facebook and email. but the battery-life is certainly not great. needs to be charged at least once daily. but as for functionality, it's still okay. no issues besides the short battery life. also found this edge gestures app on the play store. did some research to hide the buttons at the bottom and it is now all-screen. kinda like on miui 9 and on iphone X. not that much of a difference to some, but it certainly freshens up the experience.:)

LG G3 gets slow over time. And the worst I've noticed is their camera. While the pictures are decent, it has a hard time focusing. In video mode, I could never get distant things to focus enough for decent replay. It's quite frustrating. If you need something for quite video recording, this is not the phone for it.

They can't be fixed for a reasonable price and when I phones LG they told me that this phone has not had any problems and because I was out of warranty they wanted to charge me approx. $145 to fix my problem which is outragous. This phone started off so well for me and the fact it had removable 3000 mAh battery was the icing on the cake. About 10 months into its inevitablly short life, it started to be unable to read certain SIM cards, and so i sent it to LG and they claimed there was nothing wrong with it. I put my SIM card back in, and along with some spares and not one of them worked. A week or 2 after i received the phone from LG's repair centre, the phone developed a new and terminal fault. The screen would flicker and then fade, but the screen's sensors still being active and able to interact with the software. I raised the issue with LG, and to their reputation, they couldn't have cared less. Another LG device victim to the notorious bootloop.

I had the same issue with the black screen during calls and it's caused by the phone's proximity sensor. It's supposed to turn the screen black when you have the phone on your ear during a call and obviously turn it back on when you bring it back down. Calibrating the sensor should fix this issue.

There was a large bad batch that had problems with voltage control to the sim reader and any carrier's sim card would intermittently work if at all.. If you get one get a return policy or factory warranty..

I'm starting to see some new problems lately (frequent dismount/mount notifications about the SD card and occasional sudden reboot) but I'm pretty sure that's because my toddler has caused me to drop it a couple of times. There are three problems I've had with it since the beginning though. 1) The screen usually goes black during phone calls and I can't wake it up until the other person hangs up or I pull the battery out. This usually doesn't happen if I manage to get the call on speaker or open the dial pad before it goes black although once in a while it still happens midway through the call. Seems to be a software issue but I've never seen anyone else complain about it. 2) It doesn't seem to work well with the regular Skype app, especially when I have to enter a PIN number or enter a number to select from an IVR menu, but I've had no problems using the Skype for Business app. I would blame it on the app except that I never have these issues when using Skype on another phone. 3) There are a number of apps in the Playstore that won't show up if you're using an LG. The first time I encountered this it was with an app that I needed for work so I kept trying to get to the bottom of it and was finally told by the company that created the app that their app just doesn't work on LG phones and so the Playstore doesn't let me see them. I ran into this a few times and assumed it was the same reason. Anyone else had these issues?

Using this phone since 2014 October and i have only complain about power consumption optimization. Im use this phone a lot and it never ever lasted me a full day without a charge (from 8am to 2pm and i need to charge it again ). So i carry a second battery to quicly change it up. Camera in todays world is old enough, but i still wonder how in 3 years no other SD 8xx model allowed to film in 4 30fps and only now SD845 is powerfull enough it is a joke.

It’s just a S**T...Need to visit service center 5-6 months once and need to change battery/data cable. Have to charge the battery 2-3 times in a day with very less usage. Service center people just denying servicing this mobile. They are saying like this model having problems and telling to change the mobile. But, I bought it for 29000. I can’t spend money to buy a new mobile since I spend too much for this s**t. Service center people behaving very worst. Don’t have basic manners to treat customers. Please don’t buy any LG mobiles. Got my LG G3 a couple of months after it was released, so going on 3.5+yrs of having it. Even though there are cons to the phone, i really liked my g3 as compared to the samsung s4 i had previously, which lagged 3-4 months after having it. LG G3 is a good phone, imo. I wanted an affordable, fairly competitive smartphone, & durable (as in a phone that will last me a long time). The g3 delivers. In the 3.5+yr, only thing i had to do was to replace the battery and of course repair a broken screen (we all have that issue). I got my screen repaired by the LG company (~$160). My g3 screen did not flicker or glitch like some ppl claim. but of course, over time as the phone gets older, there will be lagging (with any older smartphone), but i didn't experience this lag until the last 6mos of usage. Cons: i concur with every1, it does get hot with phone usage, but not burning hot like some claim. Speaker is in the back, so the volume is very low even if u have it on the max volume. even tho at the time, it had the highest pixel and laser focusing, it didn't have the best pic results. Since i had a good experience with the G3, my next phone would be another LG. but since smartphone prices keep climbing, it almost makes me want to ditch smartphones all-together. Th g3 was $650 when it first came out, the v30 is like $100 more. Iphone X is over $1,000...wow!

My G3 is still going strong. It is going to turn 4 years old this summer. No reason to upgrade to a phone that is "courageous" or "unibody" or whatever marketing is shoving down peoples throats. I'll just swap the battery and keep the thing for 3 more years. Flip cover is a must, without it the phone would probably have cracked to pieces because gravity is a heartless *itch.

I had a lot of issues with this phone. Had it repaired by the manufacturer 3 times. Reboot loops over and over, many times a day, not recognizing sd cards, freezing. I would not choose it again.

THIS IS A QUESTION: My G3 suddenly started laggin'. Firstly when i was playing a not so "heavy" game (score! hero). Not intense lagging, just maybe 2-3 laggings in periods (per 40-60 sec). Then i noticed that this happens at normal use (not when running an app) I got it for 3 years and it has been faithful and loyal to me so far. Why are u doing this to me NOW?

i've been using my 16gb lg g3 for almost 4 years now. and i only replaced the battery once. a single charge make my phone last the whole day, except of course when i watch lot of videos on youtube. no problem with my phone so far except of course some lags, but only when lot of apps are open.

Take it to get fixed to a specialist. What happened to mine is the phone got really hot and the wifi reader thing first stopped working, then cell signal and lte/3g signal. You can find out how to fix on YouTube but that was very short term..

This phone's not worth your money. I have been using this phone for the past seven months, and I can't say I enjoyed the phone. The whole battery life and talk time is a lie. I charge my phone to a 100% and it drops to 20% within 30 mins. I can't turn on my data, else it'll die. Now, after charging it to a full 100%, while using it, it could be on 90% or 80%, and it'll suddenly turn off, the turn back on and show 5% or 4%.

The change is really easy if you have rooted phone and android terminal installed, literally two lines of code. I've actually used 1600x900 resolution for quite some time and it worked great, I didn't notice any problems or issues regarding text. I did notice difference in gaming. E.g., currently playing realm defense TD, and it lags at 1440p if there is a lot of action going on, while it occasionally lags on 1080p and never on 900p...

I've read tons of reviews and tutorials about downsizing the resolution and non of them works 100%. most are advised to be only used during gaming, not in normal usage as some icons/texts are not optimized in 1080p resolution. so any difference isn't going to be significant. the fact that the hardware itself is already at 1440p, no software adjustments are gonna make any significant difference. if it was at 1080p by default (the hardware itself) then we'll probably notice a significant difference.

Not true. It is possible to switch to 1080p by rooting the phone (I've done it) and tests online show that the difference in battery usage is ~1%. The real benefit of 1080p is better framerate in GPU demanding applications like games...

Recently i broke the screen of my -g3 and went it to a service store to replace it. The owner told me smthing about the graphic card and that after two years it starts to troubleshoot before agreeding to make the repair. My LG G3 returned IMEI null after completing the restore upgrade errors option in LG PC suite (bought in July 2014) on 15th April 2016. I am talking about Samsung Note 4 below : So I have bought Samsung Note 4 SM-910G on May 2016 and I am very happy with it. Only its motherboard went faulty because of dropping my phone unexpectedly. I have extended the warranty for Indian Rupees 8500 on Feb 2017 second week with effect from May 2017 to May 2019. I gave for free replacement on 16th June 2017. So they replaced the motherboard on 28th June 2017 (they took 12 days). Everything is fine now.

Still hanging strong even in 2017. This phone is extra slim with almost no bezels and smooth performance. Had mine when it came out and still using it daily with a marshmallow update. Drawbacks include constant high temperature during use, and LG's known wifi antenna problem, which might force you to replace the antenna / board some day. Would definitely go for another g3 as a safe choice.

Probably neither but I haven't used a K10 The LG G3 never got an upgrade past 5.0 Lollipop where I am (Australia), and the battery life and performance suffered massively! It became very laggy, would overheat quite easily and I had to charge it all the time. At one point after I did a software reset (one of many) it became stuck in a boot loop. This phone did not last me a year. I do not recommend LG G3 at all. Consider other options.

all those problems are related to overheating problem which could have been easily solved just by putting a thermal pad during assembly in factory. Anyway, you can probably fix it yourself. Open it up and put a 0.5mm pad onto the ssd and put the EMI shield back, then put a 1mm pad on the RAM/SoC chip on the other side and put everything together.

I have been using this phone for about 2 years and 8 months.. here are my conclusions: 1. The sreen is really good i didnt get any flickering isue so far 2. The battery is ok..if u got a problem with bootloop its the sign u have to buy new battery n the phone will run as good as before. It happend to me n its solved by replacing the battery. 3. The phone get really hot only when use it for playing game for more than 1 hour. Opening other app will not make it hot only warm. 4. The camera is really good. Taking picture n video is a breeze. 5. I just bought this phone and it works better than some new 2017 models, so good for you LG. As for those complaining; please learn how to use a feature instead of trying one, failing and then blaming LG that it doesn't work. Someone said there was a chance that that the G3 would receive Android Nougat... turns out to be false but I have used Nougat on this phone, with a custom rom. After further reading it seems I can also place Android Oreo on this phone, with a custom rom. Again, as with Nougat, it will run but you will not have access to any new features specific to that version of Android, probably the main reason it didn't officially get Nougat. Still, to have a phone that starts on Android 4.4.2 that can be upgraded to 8.0 sounds awesome; just goes to tell you how powerful this phone is. I'm currently running Android 4.4.4, I've tried 5.0, 5.1.1, 6.0, 7.0, 7.1.2 and I love it, but that's me, for you it could be Lollipop or Marshmallow (Marshmallow is my second favorite). To be clear I own a LG G3 D852 model and they go for about CA$160.

I bought four LG G3s to my family in July 2015. We all have loved the superb pic and screen quality. Personally I like the colours the camera creates. They are natural and include pure grey shades instead of the yellowish pics of Samsung and other brands. During this year one G3 started to over heat and another went crazy with a new sim. Battery life is short but is managed by carrying the charger with you everywhere. Many find this difficult, I dont. I have never understood people who complain they have a flat battery. This is a sign of laziness in my view. G3 has also a replaceble battery. When travelling I carry 2 loaded extra batteries with ne. They weigh just nothing. G3 was a great device. If it lasts 2 years that is sufficient. In practice one has to buy a new phone anyways because of new performance requirements and capabilities. And I want a bigger screen and dual sim feature now.

With grim and pale heart, i am writing my experiences with LG G3, the model which unnecessarily got too much of attention and hype due to wrong advertising campaign by LG.The laser guided camera sharpness is just crap, and pics taken still resemble 2 MP photos. The main drawback is that the screen flickers and fades away, and no one can fix it.There is connector problem that connects screen with the motherboard. Secondly most of the time,there will be no network coverage.The only plus point is the beautiful 2k screen, but it is not usable, as phone design does not let you use the screen. I bought my G3 in January 2015. The first year was great, but after that i started experiencing the boot-loping issue. I solved that problem by replacing the battery. Some weeks ago, the screen started fading and flickering - and from what i see in the forums is the beginning of the end for the device. I can tell that 80% of G3 onwers i know have had at least one of my problems. This shows there are definitely some design issues with this phone. Perhaps I will give LG G6 a try, but I am not quite sure if LG has addressed all these problems...

Mine is now 13 month old. So far everything works. Never did it shut down or restart on its own. The battery lasts me a full day (with playing games about 2h per day). The cpu gets very hot while gaming but it doesn't effect anything. When I stop playing it cools down and no problem. Nothing leggs. 8/10 for the phone

Yes,they heat easily and it's a common problem for most smartphone nowadays Just telling you that g3 can't handle a too long 4k recording as it will get heater and heater and finally lead the phone to the forced shut down..in less a year of usage the screen flickering problem begin to rush in (you need to search on youtube about lg g3 screen flickering problem)i ended up having my lg dumped bcs there's no permanent fix for this ,it'll come again after a year of free reparation(it's free because i still have the guarantee card)..without that lg g3 is a great phone with good cam and screen and smart features tbh..

Once you upgrade to marshmallow you get smooth performance & good battery life. If you playing games of course your battery will die quickly. Personally own the 32 gig/3 gig ram model, absolutely loved the display, camera, performance, leaps and bounds compared to the Lumia 635 I'd been using for a few years, though sadly my motherboard has pretty much quit, replacing it today, luckily found one from a broken phone for $20, selling it and changing brands after I complete the repair! Gave LG the benefit of the doubt even though many of my friends have been having serious issues with their G3's, G4's and G5's, almost made me late for an important interview as it bootlooped and my alarm didn't go off. LG's UI is one of my favorite Android skins and there's no denying that it's a beautiful design, but didn't get nearly enough mileage out of it for the money!

Android 6.0. Camera still one of the best, just tap it as much u want, very good detail. The photo rarely blur cause of the laser autofocus. My g3 has both Android 6 and the FM radio.Mine is the LG G3 32GB Model D855. To get the FM radio just go to ''Update centre'' it should be on your main menu or go to setting->general->about phone->Update centre; look through and download FM radio.U will need the headphone which it uses as the antenna for the FM radio. As for why yours hasn't updated to Android 6 not sure.Try going to ''Software update'' and checking for updates.Or better still use the LG PC suite to search for the upgrade

To start FM radio you have to put in your headphones. They are as the antenne and then you will access this feature.

I have had absolutely no luck upgrading to Android 6.0 all links are lame dead ends, LG's website is beyond stupid, so no help there. furthermore this phone is supposed to have FM Radio available... well not sure what I have to do to be able to access this feature, so far nothing... would be nice if there were solutions to these two critical problems..

Cons of g3: 1- Useless QHD display Note 3 has only Amoled FHD and it is too far better than g3 in display. 2- 3gb ram which it can be filled to 100% by launching only 3 apps simultanously obviously one of them will force close 3- stock system is completly instable 4- most of play store apps are incompatible and at last g3 is good only when you unbox it so when you root it and start installing and using your apps then it become a piece of plastic with bright front. had this one since launch, not a single problem so far. rooted it, un rooted it, installed cyaogenmod. uninstalled it. any software change there is i have tried on this little monster of a phone and the damn thing still works. since a couple of days iv'e gone back to the lg stock rom. it's even faster then before. if you searching for a replacement this one is amazing, but ofcourse it's already 2017 so if you are looking for an upgrade, go check out newer models instead

I'm using it for almost two years now and I have no problems whatsoever. I'm on Marshmallow and I plan to use it for at least two more years - 3 GB ram will be enough, and if it starts to lag I will install some stable custom rom to refresh it or at least format it and install stock rom again. I also have the option to put a new battery easily if this one decreases in performance, but so far it is great - lasts for two days - I do not game, but I do read stuff.

Another LG G3 user here from Singapore. Have been using it for coming to 2 years now this April. So far quite satisfied with the phone, with an exception that the battery does not last as long as I am a gamer. That is normal. The other thing recently encountered was a flickering / dimming issue on LCD. I did my own fix watching a TY video. Lucky me that I managed to fix it or else have to burn my pocket for a new phone. Also, I updated to 6.0 Marshmallow update via PC Suite which settled the camera lag while saving pictures. Just wana give a general feedback regarding LG G3. Thank you.

My personal opinion on the LG G3 is that it "was" a great phone. but ever since there update id wish i never brought it. since the update even with screen brightness low and data off and then phone on idle it will still drop so fast.. i'm getting about 2-3 hours if im on facebook and messager then ill have to put the phone on charge before it dies... i have tried to replace the battery 3 times and all having same problem.. Also since the update my LG G3 phone freezes so much and the over heat is amazing. if you use the phone for too long the phone will heat up and just feeling the lock button it is hot... LG really need to remove this update or change it back to the old update as it worked perfect.

Good camera qualiity, good battery life (in my case ~96H, if device use only for text and calls, and ~48 on heavy usage), good performance, after upgrade to marshmallow it runs more smooth and fast, than lolipop. SUDHAKAR - while i read the user opinions of smartphones i make a conclusion, that you like you feel so good, when someone has a trouble especialy with LG smartphone, i think you are very sick men. No matter which phone you buy it's lottery how it will work. Also my colleague has an LG 4 about 2 years, but there are no any boot loop issue, no any problems, other colleague has Galaxy S7 and it restarts frequently, other guy has iPhone 5 and it's became bricked after one year, one has SONY Xperia Z5 with smooth red lines on screen. Every phone may has a bug or an issue. So, good luck to everyone and remember - that smartphone is only the device to serve you and it' not a idol for worship :)

You, that report problems with G3, you have China shit or are you really unlucky. This is one of best phones, it could be produced still and catch up today's needs. I bought mine one year ago, still works flawlessly, recently I bought second one for my son. I don't like to pay for newest stuff much more just for it is new. Having G3 you have much chipper machine that performs perfectly in terms of memory, chipset, camera, speed and display (I'v got 3GB ram & 32GB memory version).

HA stock... if you have this phone mod it. if your going to run the stock kernal for the camera at least run cloudy. stock is trashtastic, buggy, slow, battery lasts barely half a day. straight up terrible. This phones awesome once you mod it. sub 300 CAD for a 65k+ antutu score hell yea. i've heard of the 805 processor model getting close to 80k. my phone runs just as good as a samsung S6 besides the battery when i crank the settings. but i mean they made an extended battery for this thing. 6.5k mah battery is a beast double your battery for 30 bucks (plus shippinng if you don't have prime. but who doesn't order their groceries online nowadays?)

Just 2 months after purchasing brand new this phone, black screen breeding(black strobes) covers 3/4 of screen. Since it is within the warranty, I had sent to LG repair center after I got Return authorization. LG told me that screen breeding is not covered by warranty because user's fault. I had not dropped nor watered it. they asked me the cost to repair same as market's brand new price. I searched at YouTube to fix by myself and found that so many this LG G-3 phone's similar problems uploaded comparing its competitor. This phone is manufactured bad and LG Co, is bad business practiced toward the customers. Don't waste money in buying this crappy phone.

I've had this phone for a few months and this is the most fragile phone I have ever had! I didn't put any game on it because I knew about overheating problem, there were only few applications on it, I carried it in the case and phone never dropped... Anyway, the problem with wi-fi appeared and I sold it at the last moment. My friends who had LG phones (various models) are also dissapointed because there were the same problems (bootloop, wifi, overheating, sim card recognition... well, motherboard). So, the parts in LG phones are not so good and a piece of quality so avoid this mark if you appreciate your money.

They are quoting around Dirrhams 800 (approx Rs 15000) for changing mother board and battery-for which I will get new mobile with higher specs. I don't know how there are so many complains about the LG G3. I am using my G3 for 2yrs now without issue. I'm on marshmellow and it has improved battery life. I bet most of you have faulty units, its best to get international version D855 model 3gb ram no issue.

For those who are having boot loop issues after an update. First, back up your phone, then update. Lastly, always do a hard reset after the phone updates. I always hard reset every phone I've owned on every update no matter what brand it is. My G3 has no issues for the last 2 yrs and 2 months. No heating issues for me, except when I use 3g data. Remember that this unit is not a gaming phone.

I had a bootloop problem, will somebody help me with a suggestion? One day I wanted to replace the simcard and casually pulling the battery out, then on restarting, the phone would not boot to homescreen. I suspect its the battery problem like most of us have, then I changed to a new SEALED battery and the problem persisted. I have also flashed stock MM (without wiping phone memory (aka. normal flash)) but the phone still went to bootloop after "Android is starting" operation. I do not want to fully wipe (yet) because I wanna preserve the phone memory (whatsapp, sms, etc). What do I do to get passed the bootloop? Thanks.

worked fine for 1.5yrs, later had re-boot loop problem. Fortunately had extended warranty, so free service with mother board and battery change done. Then phone worked fine for 6-8 mnths. I upgraded to android marshmello in the mean time. But again same problem started (restart problem) with key board behaving crazy. Again went for repair, with out any warranty. For repair they quoted price of new Lg3 price!! I am planning to go for samsung now. Can any one tell me if i downgrade from android this problem solves? Thanks

sorry for late reply well if thats the case then you must have updated to last OTA and you have to properly FLASH a KDZ of your desired Android OS. then don't update and try to root via kingroot. and after root don't update the OS, if so then maybe you'll lose the root and further rooting capabilities unless you repeat the above mentioned proces. Moreover i have also tried to root my G4 F500L (Marshmallow) via kingroot but unable to do so and mostly there isn't any root available for my device yet.

It's relatively easy to downgrade to 4.4.2 kitkat. Download the firmware & the lg flash tool then select the firmware file & off you go. You should have a clean restore of Kitkat.

I've had this phone for more than two years now and my only comment aside from the battery and overheating is the camera. Sometimes the screen turns green/blue/violet when I use the camera. man, I love everything about this phone besides its battery life. you need to charge it once a day even in moderate usage. my brother had mine rooted so I use the x-cam app instead of the stock camera and it takes photos better, and the UI on the marshmallow is awesome. would have been a perfect phone if it wasn't for the poor battery life. the QHD resolution is really unnecessary, 1080p would have been more than enough and we could've had more battery life.

i was using LG F460K with stock rom F460K11e and was unable to update it via any method. Then i do the following steps Process 1. Root (KingRoot apk can easily root) 2. Mine's working really well on marshmallow. Only problem is overheating with GPS or heavy usage. The bootloop is with the G4, certain devices before Oct 2015 are susceptible to the bootloop. But the G3 has none of those issues. Highly recommend it, if you obtain one update it to MM. Lollipop was awful & laggy, MM has been well optimised.

Plug it into a battery pack or AC adapter and see if it still restarts itself. If it doesn't then it might be a battery problem. Happened to me and it would get stuck in a reboot loop. Replacing the battery fixed it.

I have G3 international version on 6.0 3GB ram version,i charge phone two times a day,but watch 20 movies and 6-8 football games per week and whatsapp/line all day active. Switched on G3 from S5 and phone is amazing,working smoothly,not having problems with heating. Phone gets warm but nothing extremely. Spend few hrs a day playing clash of king and that game turned my Samsung into heating device. Definitely staying with LG for now. i´m using this LG G3 D855 for one week and a half. I,m quite satisfied with the device, but... it gets too hot when playing games, batery goes too fast and there's no OS update. The screen is incredible, compared to the Alcatel POP C9 that i had.... I play Pokemon GO so i can't root to install any kind of OS. I payed a very good price for an used one, i had only to buy another batery 'cos the original one was not working. i´m only dissapointed with the OS =/

Honestly the LG G3 is one of the best phones Ive ever used. The stock ROM is absolute garbage, but with a little bit of tinkering one can install TWRP, Multirom and a Plethora of custom ROMS. Ive had extremely good luck with AOSP ROMs based on 7.1. The experience on a 7.1 custom ROM honestly rivals some of the newer flagships. Its got one of the best modding communities available, not to mention the removable battery allows me to use a 9000Mah battery and get close to 10H SOT with optimizations.

Granted the G4 had the bootloop issue but it can be replaced by LG for free. I have the G3 on MM & have had no issues. The Find 7 had the first ever 1440p screen ever on an phone. The LG G3 achieved better battery performance and gaming framerates, when the screen resolution was lowered to 1080p or 720p. What I thought was: why doesn't Android have a screen resolution selector in it's power saving mode? Windows had native screen resolution adjustments decades ago. When the Note 4 came out, I contacted Samsung's support service and suggested a feature, that screen resolution could be adjusted in power saving mode. Exactly what I imagined years is happening to devices running Android Nougat. If I sold a phone years ago, I would make it more like computers: rotateable homescreen and lock screen, maybe a few costumizable Fn buttons as known from cameras, and adjustable screen resolution for power saving. I wonder, how long the K10000 would survive. The only missing thing is refresh rate! Will that come on Android O?

This phone worked like a charm...for 1.5 years and then it happened. The phone out of no where stopped reading the sim. When it was unable to do it, it restarts the phone automatically, changes the language but is still not reading the sim. It intermittently reads the sim but most of the time it is not. I really liked this phone but i have no choice but to replace it. Ive heard g5 is having some issues too but i cant confirm or deny.

I have been using this phone for 5-6 months and its been a disaster ..i am using the At&t model and many of the features are blocked like wifi hotspot usb connection and others... It might be a software problem. If it's a buggy firmware then problems will persist. Try first a factory reset & backup your data. If that doesn't work then download & flash another rom on the LG. Hopefully the issues will ease & should be functioning as normal afterwards.

i PURCHASED THE lg g3 2 weeks ago. It started overheating and brightness-lowering, because of it's temperature. And now, It charges slowly, Instant loss of battery and after I tried to not use it. Then I wanted to use it again to check. IT BECAME A USELESS DEVICE SAYING LG. (Yeah, right most innovationnal phone of 2014.) What a waste of money, really. I purchased the LG G3 used in March based on a lot of good reviews here. I had no issues and was recently praising this phone and thinking about getting the LG 4 until yesterday. I went to use my phone and while I was texting I started to get flickering and fading black on the screen. Of course I got nervous because the amount of stuff on this phone and the fear of loosing them. I called LG who informed me it can be a update that was just done and to either send it to them or check a local phone repair shop. I took it to a repair shop who informed me that its the motherboard and to get a new phone. I feel so annoyed because I was having so much issues with the Samsung Galaxy 3 I was using before the LG and I don't know which phone to get as I am nervous about getting the LG 4 as the reviews on here is bad. I just can't Win. Any ideas?

I have a Portuguese version of D855 ( LG G3 ) and reside in India and was using this phone for the past ONE YEAR and FIVE MONTHS and it was working quite nicely with Excellent Camera. Today morning my phone display started flickering and then the display vanished. Incoming call ringer is ringing for an incoming call but I cannot connect because of NO Display. Occasionally display glows for two three seconds on persistance attempts. I have Never ever Dropped this phone. D'ont know what happened. LG Service centre people told me that it is a Hardware fault and motherboard needs replacement and its cost is about Rs.14,000/- for Foreign version motherboard and Rs.7000/- for Indian version and the warranty shall be only for 3 Three months. I fail to understand about two versions of motherboard for D855. I do not want to discard this phone but with the rates quoted for its repair by LG are giving a cue to me that I should be careful in future, in deciding in favour of LG.

No, there was no problem with setting APN or anything. I was able to connect 3G. Just cannot select LTE(4G) unless entering hidden settings from the phone app. Apparently, the code differs from each model or OS version. Someone said the code was *#*#4636#*#* for entering hidden setting according to websites, which is different from mine (written before).

For some unknown reason, I've got to manually enable 4G every time I reboot the phone. (Mine was shipped from HongKong) Open phone app and tap 3845#*855#(lollipop) or *#546368#*855#(marshmallow) to enter the hidden menu (incase of D855). Then hit : 1. Go to LTE-Only(lollipop) or Field Test(marshmallow) 2. Modem Settings 3. RAT Selection 4. Select the one you want After getting used to, it doesn't bother much but yes, that's weird

I've had this phone for over 2 years and its just horrible. I've dropped it not very hard before (with a case) and the whole screen shattered and wasn't able to use. Right now, it hardly can hold a charge, it gets way too hot, and it says that I'm missing the SIM card but I know it's in there. When it says the SIM card is missing, I'm unable to use it. It's frustrating, I highly dont recommend this phone.

I've been using this phone since July of 2015 and it's still going strong. Only issue I've had was I broke the lens cover once and replaced it myself it was about $7 on eBay. I rooted the phone just to gain access to the ability to use my hotspot I did not side load anything or flash a custom ROM I took my phone with me when I left AT&T and had to root in order to turn off the phone checking with the network whether or not I was a authorized hotspot user, I simply changed the number of times it checked with the network from 1 to 0 hahaha. The rear buttons took some getting used to but once I did they work just fine can easily access them from either right or left hand. I'm browsing looking for a new phone just because I'm bored when really I don't need one, it has the QHD screen which is fantastic. The only thing I would like to have in addition to the current features is an S Pen.

Thx but no, it never woke up until plugging in (or just forget it and tap it hours later), and number of ppl suffer from this as I saw on google result. As it turn out, it actually was prox. sensor issue and I solved it by tweaking the hidden menu and re-calibrating the sensor, as I wrote below. Big relief now I can get along :-)

Guys does anyone have proximity-sensor issue with G3 Marshmallow? My G3 occasionally kept asleep soundly and didn't wake up when I hit the power button or double tap the screen. When I plug in the power cable or try tapping later, it woke up. I scoured around for the info and at last found the solution!! It relates to proximity sensor calibration and you can fix it from hidden menu. This guy has Verizon' G4, but it works for G3 global as well. The only difference between G3 and this guy's G4 is the code to enter the hidden menu. Hi, i hope you have not yet bought the g3. I will highly recommend you buy the note 4. The g3 is an excellent phone when it works leaving aside the average battery life. But the biggest issue is the bootloop issue which unfortunately affects the g3 g4 v10 g5. Just search for g3 bootloop problem and find out for yourself the scale of the issue. I had to find out the hard way my g3 started bootloop recently. The problem is related to the frequent heating of the phone. This results in the chips on the motherboard loosing contact from the frequent heating. I have been able to reinforce the chips on the motherboard with papers and my phone is working again, but bootloops can start again anytime. So i hope my experience will dether you from this phone unless you are technically good to disassemble your phone and troubleshoot the problem. So make the right choice and go for the note series because i will be switching to the note series and dump lg for good. Hope this long narrative helped.

I love my LG G3, by far the best phone I saw even in comparison to newer ones. So much internal storage, pretty much no lag and I just love the buttons on the back. I didn't see this in the newer models, so even comparing specs, I see nothing worth-wile. Bottom line... I've had it for two years, still works perfectly and I LOVE IT. I loved it at first, fast, powerful, large screen. The drabness of the screen was a shock having just switched from a Galaxy S3, but you get used to it. It runs hot, the keyboard seems to have some precision issues as I've never made so many typos in my entire life until now. Keyboard lag is very real; texting is slow to respond in both opening and reacting to keypresses. You can type a whole word or two after immediately sending a text and none of it will be typed except the last letter. Knock code is great for unlocking your phone like a magician, but the screen is laggy so you often need to do it very slowly (easy for people to learn your code) or 3-4 times before it finally accepts that someone is touching it (again easy for people to learn your code). All in all it's alright, but it gets hot, slow to respond and peevishly inaccurate when typing. I don't install all kinds of weird apps and I close the running apps often to keep RAM and CPU available.. so there really isn't any reason for it to be like this, it just isn't a great phone.

I have owned the LG G3 for the last year and half with no issues. Yes, it did come with that lag but it was not extreme and did not hinder my use of the phone. The only other thing I noticed is that it could run pretty hot. However I bought it a big box store and got a $200 gift card with it which covered the taxes on other accessories and under Verizon's edge program my monthly payment went down $15 (phone added 18 so minimal impact) so it felt very worth it. I loved the phone from the start. It was upgrade over my previous phone, a Motorola droid ultra, being faster and with a much better screen. I loved the screen to phone ratio. So much screen, so little phone. It wasn't all that much bigger than the droid. LG's implementation of Android I was familiar with from my LG Tablet and I do like it. Knock on and off is great and being able to have a button to get to notifications is easier than pulling down the screen. But the main reason I feel compelled to offer an opinion is that the upgrade to Marshmallow really transforms this device. I noticed it as soon as I got the OTA upgrade. Gone was the lag, the phone ran smoother and even seemed brighter. However, a few weeks ago my phone started running hot after I tried to download and install a benchmark program. Not sure what went wrong; maybe got some rouge program or a virus. Anyway I did a factory reset and the result was amazing! Now it didn't just not lag, it flys. It runs cooler and everything is so much smoother. When I compare it to the new phones at Verizon, it seems to keep up with them just fine. I am not saying it is as fast only that the difference is not inspiring me to upgrade. I have another 6 months of payments remaining and can upgrade early and may do that but it will not be because of the phone's performance. Highly recommended Oh yea, did I mention I like the buttons in back....

Have this phone more than one year now. Got it as a gift. Otherwise I won't buy it. Use mainly for music, sometimes quick camera shots and watch movies while in bed. And browse internet too. There are few cracks near mic. Often time some screen spots get numb (certain spots don't react to finger touch). After hafl a year constant use with headphones now static noise is annoying. Can't listen soft music or watch movies or youtube with headphones. I red that is all LG G series problem. So if you are going to use this phone with headphones or you are considering G4 or G5 as well - forget about it for your ears sake. After it got Android 6 update overheating got less but it still noticeable. But update added flashlight to taskbar. On Android 5 there were no flash light stock app or button. If would have to choose, I would never go for LG again and won't recomend it.

Used a #LG #G3 for about 1.5 years, and while it worked there was no issues what so ever, the problem was even with the original ROM in action , the motherboard failed during warranty period twice, and later after warranty once. The cost of replacing mother board is not friendly, and the mother board is getting roasted and fails for almost all user or the shipment that was sold to the middle east has problem. Worst part is the phone that came after about an year #g4 was also not fixed by #LG. The software team of LG is also bad, hence I would not recommend this phone to anyone considering the cost of the phone is not that cheap as well !!

Guys I got my D855 updated to Marshmallow with LG PC Suite today! Thank you for the useful tips. It was supposed to be a cinch but actually was a huge hassle because right after updating the OS, it got into BOOT-LOOPING...chill went down my spine... That was really horrendous moment. After good five hours of scouring around websites, I found that there's "restore upgrade error" function on LG PC Suite's menu bar. So I reboot G3 in safe mode (coz it was still boot-looping) and connected to the PC Suite again. This function looks just re-installing update files again but it worked anyway.. it save the day. Now my phone is kicking with shiny Marshmallow but I can't help getting cold feet to buy LG phone next time....

I've had this phone for about one and a half years until it died, and at first I was very impressed by the phone. It was very fast and responsive, camera was pretty decent and had pretty cool features. That battery life was alright too even after using it extensively. I quite liked my phone while it lasted. However I had some problems with the phone before it just died on me; at first the micro-sd card wouldn't register, then the SIM card wouldn't be detected, then the camera connection stopped working, and then finally the phone just stopped working. All of these happened a few weeks after another. I have a feeling that there was a soldering problem with the model (and from what I've read, quite a few LG G3 phones have had soldering problems, as the sim card slot is easily pushed out of place) and so connections were faulty. Trying to repair it would cost quite a bit of money so I opted to just leave it and purchase another phone. All in all, while it lasted I loved my phone. However it was a great shame that it died so soon. I'll recommend if you're super careful with your phones, otherwise it may be wiser to buy a more sturdier phone.

This phone is great on hardward and performance even until today but has 2 problems in my opinion screen brightness in outdoors in bright weathers and very short battery life since i am a heavy user but no games ever i guess 1440p screens would use more battery than usual specially in hot weather it can barely last for a half day but in general i would recommend 1080p for cellphone screens to give you more use time on batteries .. My currant phone is LG g3 by the way

No problem man. You probably need to download the update via a computer. That's what I had to do. I have no idea what country you live in, but you need to go to LGs webpage and choose your country. Then click on "support", "software and updates, enter your model nr LG G3 (and choose your version). Then there should be a link with a guide for using the mobile software. If you get stuck, try the LG chat support (if it's available in your country) and they will guide you in the right direction.

I have had the G3 for 2 years and no problems. For a period the battery discharged in a day, but I looked at current consumption and found that a few apps consumed a lot. So I stopped them, and now the battery lasts for two days. Which I find acceptable.

I have an LG G3, it doesn't over heat. Audio is fine, pictures are really good. Android 6 is likely where it will stop. Battery life is good, won't last all day if you use your phone heavily. There is nothing about this phone that would cause me to hesitate recommending it. If you have money and want latest and greatest, and don't mind paying for it, look elsewhere. For the price point this phone is still very good.

Well said. If you choose 'restore upgrade errors' from LG PC suite, your unrooted G3 will become garbage and displays imei null. Go for Samsung Note 4, J7 2016 or J7 prime. Do not believe the LG paid commenters.

All the haters stop lying to people here. The G3 is a good all rounder. The battery life may not be the best but thus phone is nothing short of amazing. Ive been using mine for 2yrs now. Marshmellow helps abit with battery. Just follow these steps: Turn off animations from developer settngs. This wil give u no lag in the ui Upgrade to marshmellow Try using the phone on 50 to 60 % brightness. This is for anyone interested in buying a G3. Dont listen to the haters comparing this phone to samsung becoz after 1yr all samsung phones start to lag the software is too heavy.

The LG G3 is junk; so is the company. Great design but poor performance. I am sending my phone back to LG for the 3rd time due to bad software. Phone will not pass routing authentication, randomly reboots, and the battery drains quickly without use. I addition to the phone being junk, LG could careless about the customer. Do what you want but i would highly suggest that you update to MM... it runs butter smooth. But if you really like KitKat interface better, stay with it.

I don't know about you guys? Why the negative reviews? Im quite satisfied with the G3's performance I do have the D858 Dual-Sim+LTE 3GB RAM variant Probably the 3GB RAM is the difference-maker among all G3's Screen is good (not bad?), the screen itself is not the best, but the resolution is future-proof. Battery is not bad, I mean I am comparing it to the likes of Zenfone Selfie, alot of Samsungs and some Moto G's (I recently regretfully sold Moto G3, it has great battery backup), and I would say G3 is at the middle of the pack, battery backup-wise. No worries, it is removable. Overheating, yes, due to non-stop screen lit time, but it signifies you should get some rest too. Camera is excellent. Rear cams on cameraphones are virtually identical, but no one else mentioning here is the strength of its 2MP front cam with great speakers. It interprets light and sound very well in video recordings. Moto's front cam for comparison is too dark in frontcam video recording, Zenfones (Selfie and Zen 2) front camera shots are good, but its video is lackluster and blurry, with inconsistent autofocus. Samsung frontcams are good, although yellowish in color, and the audio is mono-like. Combined with hot small-bezel looks, I must say G3 is still a very strong contender in mid-end phone market. Rule of thumb, value-wise, is that former flagships are better than mid-end new releases due to electronic devices' depreciation value. TL;DR - LG G3 is a good buy.

The device isn't that bad to be quite honest. I've had it for 2 months. I'm on marshmallow & it works terrific. Performance is really good. It lags occasionally especially when I have tonnes of apps opened but that's expected. Battery is the culprit here. It sucks, pretty bad but it's okay seeming it has a removable back. Overall I'm quite pleased with the device. I think marshmallow really improved the performance & interface by heaps, definitely have no second thoughts on downgrading to Kitkat or Lollipop.

Great device, no idea why there are so many bad ratings here. Bought it about 2 years ago and everything is great. I've even got Android 6.0.1 running on it (thanks @Cyanogenmod) and I can get daily updates. The stock-rom (by LG) was not too good tho. For me it's 4 of 5 stars.

Avoid both g3 and s5, both of them have problems, g3 has terrible screen, bad battery backup, bad performance and sever overheating. S5 has bad performance, it gets slow after some month and you have to hard reset it frequently, and it has a high rate of broken parts, Believe me in all fairness, chose a Sony Xperia z2 or z3 they are amazing with adequate price, if you can add more money buy galaxy note 4

It's possible alright & fairly simple. Download the LG flashing tool & MM rom both of which you can download off the xda site. Then you can practically downgrade the phone easily. Stop giving false info that you can't downgrade, this ain't locked down like iOS.

I've found the total opposite. I'm really enjoying the device, it's great & fluid to use, especially that I've upgraded to MM. Couple of minor things I've only got the 2GB ram version so it has crashed & relooped a couple of times but that was with a LOT of open apps. And battery isn't the greatest however it's better than Kitkat. If you hate the OS then install a custom rom, simple.

I will never buy another LG phone again. Battery full notification will wake your phone constantly (and you too if you charge it near you while you sleep at night) and there is no way to turn it off. When typing the phone will add the last highlighted word when you touch any letter. The autocorrect and predictive text are poor, they are often incorrect or digest words that have never been typed before. The OS that had been installed is weak and hard to navigate. I will be going back to Samsung and will never support an mobile LG device again. I blame the software and not the phone, LG has a long way to come before I ever consider them a competitor.

Actually I never used LG G3. LG G3 have famous bootloop issue due to faulty update due to faulty rom, sometime due to its battery. Some of the users solved this issues by using this method, some solved by changing battery.

Try this, remove the battery and wait for about a minute, insert the battery back into the phone, press the power button AND the volume down button together, as soon as you see the LG logo appear quickly release the power button and re press it immediately, DONT LET GO OF THE VOLUME KEY! As soon as you see the factory reset screen appear you can release both buttons. Now use the volume key only to select the option to reset and press the power button to say yes, and the phone will be wiped and the original version of Android that was on your phone when purchased will be put back on. Now follow all on screen prompts to get the phone set back up, as you done at new.

Try other SIM on your LG G3 as well, It happened with my LG G3 and I found SIM Tray Pin was damaged. I checked with LG Service Center and they told me they need to change the Motherboard which will cost 8000/- INR. I checked in Local Mobile Market and they just replace the SIM Tray for which I paid 1000/- INR. Hope it helps, Thanks

I am using Lg G3 D855 international version(32gb).I updated it from android 5.0 lollipop to 6.0 marshmallow manually by using .kdz file through lg flash tool and my update completes 100% without any error and after my update I factory reset my phone, after first factory reset my phone is rebooting again and again(bootlooping)…. For that price i would say... ...maybe... ...i just ordered new LG G3 16gb (Titan) in Finland and it cost 239€ (about 265$) so i think i had pretty nice deal :) But don't expect it to have Marshmallow update yet (well, depends on where you live). I'd say go for it like i did... ...i mean, it's still pretty nice 2 year old flagship :)
