I got this phone in early 2010. Used it as my main, heavy duty work horse for two and a half years, and had not a single problem with it except broken headphone jack, which was my own fault. Works great, excellent materials quality. Contrary to statements here, overheats when under heavy use and connected to charger (as does every single device out there in the market), but does not affect stability. Android 1.5 shipped with it is kind of ancient now, but it is possible to unofficially upgrade it to Android 2.3 using custom ROM's which I have had great success with - Firedroid, OpenEtna. Works like charm, and sometimes faster than with 1.5 ROM. Battery life is a bit tight, but, if You can teach Yourself to turn of WiFi and GPS when You don't actually use it, it will give You steady 2-5 days of battery life with original battery pack. I haven't changed the original battery since purchase, and now, when I gave this amazing piece of phone to my wife as backup, battery holds it's charge for amazing 6-7 days with a normal family coms use - 10-15 calls a day. Also, compared to most of the low cost droid phones nowadays's 5Mpx flash camera of this phone is by far superior to that used in under 300$ Droids out there now. Last, but not least - QWERTY in this phone is amazing. One of the reasons why people tend to love this brick sized monster so much. Bottom line is - Yes, this phone is old, this phone is outdated. It might be slow and not have the coolest 2012 features of phones which now cost 5-7 times more. But, if You must choose between this and some budget droid, there is only one reasonable choice - GW620. Those, who have problems with it as seen in comments before mine (ohh, those Indian guys. Tech savvy, haha) 1) broke it because *reasons* 2) have no fffin idea of how to approach piece of technology more advanced than a nail. If You have upgrade or whatever problems with Etna/Eve - approach Your local mobile repair shop and pay the money to the guy who actually know's what he's doing.

These phone suck. Replaced with a nexus which is great. This phone is too slow, the battery dies early, probably due to the fact that the charger sucks too and the version of android is ancient.

skype cannot be downloaded. I also have problems turning off the roaming and apparently with ver. 1.5 the internet cannot be turned off either. I cannot get a connection to the computer so, my photos only stay on the phone. I am also not happy that I bought this phone.It is tedious. You always need to use LG's software for data-connection with your micro-USB cable. Just visit your countries LG website or the site of the country where you bought your phone. Example: If you just want to copy your data/contacts etc you can also try Astro File Manager for Android. It's not from LG but works fine. Salaam/Shalom

I bought it for 800 pounds in Egypt or 145 dollar nearly. first good points: ------------------- -can open PDF,word & excel files but cant edit or create them. -touch is so easy. -very fast on the net by WiFi or 3G. -camera is good. -video recording is good. -u can edit videos using the phone. -resolution of the screen is good. -touch buttons works well. -sound of speaker & headset is not bad. -i used WiFi for more than 3 hours surfing and downloading ,the battery indicator is 52%. -it has light sensor which turn off the screen when its near ur ears. -google maps work very well on it map or street view. -design is very cool. __________________________________ second,very bad points: ------------------------ -It is not upgradable to 2.2 which made me very nervous. -the Bluetooth is for headset only, no file transfer. -most of the apps didn't work on it.only very few apps worked. -wifi range is short few meters(3,4) from my router. - most of videos on youtube not played. -cant play divx with 640*480. ------------------------------------- At the end this phone is good as featured phones (which is little bit smart) not android smart phone.

It's a great phone, I've had it for a almost 2 years and it's still going there's just one thing to report. When i plug in any headphone's they only play through one of the speakers within the headphone. I know it's not the head phone's that are broken because when i plug the same head phones into my computer they play properly. Not sure how common this is but other than that this is an amazing phone. The touch screen is as good as an iphones.

Bluetooth works OK for file transfer also. You just have to update the phone to Froyo Android 2.2. If you do not know how to update the phone just go to your local mobile shop-service and for some extra cash they do it for you, unless you do not leave in some forest or in the mountains.. well thi s phone can be used for bluetooth file transfer if you would upgrade is os version to a custom rom, specifically open etna version or the open eve version which is based on gingerbread 2.3.4.... then you have to install bluetooth ftp app....just google the app... medieval software is the manufacturer.....however if you would choose to upgrade it to this versions there is a couple og things you need to know... 1.mass storage mode wont work anymore....that means you have to use a card reader to tranfer files to your memory card from a computer... that is for both versions... 2. in open etna there is a bulit in proxy enabler, and for open eve there is non.... 3.in open etna the camera flash is going nuts but still the camera is working, in open eve the camera flash is stable.... 4.open etna is based on 2.2.1 while open eve is based on 2.3.4...

What coubntru are you from? Maybe your network operator its blocking the update because LG did its job and made long ago the Froyo 2.2.1 Update! You operator who locked your phone branded it and probably did not give permission to LG to update their GW620. The LG update checks you IMEI - Phone serial number and thats why your operator can block his lot of phones bought from LG. LG is THE BEST! The BEST!

If you put Froyo Android 2.2.1 on it it will be the best price-quality ratio phone you ever had! If you cannot do it using LG Update internet page, than use this There you also have forums where you can search and see how easy it is. Have fun! LG made in South Korea rules!

Your battery is defective. Bring it to the retailer service to check it on Battery Hold Test to see how much power in % can hold. They must replace it for you if its not 90-100% hold power after full charge.

No, its not normal. But, use "Android Assistant" its a free software form Android Market. With that you can easily disable all things you do not require always: So Disable GPS, Put automatic Brightness, Put use Only 2G networks, Disable Wifi, Disable AutoSync, etc. use also Advanced Task manager and kille tasks you do not require. MY LG GW620 BATTERY lasts 3-4 DAYS like this! Also, use Dr. battery - also free soft on Android Market to periodically make full-charge-discharge cycles for Battery Calibration and Formatation! if you have still problems, go and ask you retailer to service-check your batter on a simple Battery Checker after Full Charge-discharge. It will show if you battery is defective and maybe even after Full Charge it cannot hold more than 50-60% of power. Its normal, can happen to any new phone. And must replace it for you. But, if your GW620 is second hand and yoru battery is not new, maybe the guy who soled it to you used to charge it very badly, like not leaving it sometimes to reach 100% because he needed the phone. This killa battery overtime at any manufacturer. Not lastly, if an 600 USD Iphone 4 lasts battery only 20 hours , and a 150 USD LG Gw620 lasts 12 hours its MORE THAN SUPER ANYWAY! Practically Lg gW620 should cost around 400 USD for how much its battery lasts for 12 hours :))

Hi, Are you sure its original LG case(face) on it? I have mine since 2010 and its not showing any signs. It looks like new. I just put a 3M Vikuity foil on the LCD screen for protection. But buttons and face all look super, no paint is wearing off!

this is not a gamer phone. even i overclocked it to 710.4mhz, it lags in many games. i prefer Optimus Black or "2X" to the gamers. btw, GW620 has better quality hardware then most of the Android phones. (i think gorilla glass screen and AMD accelerator missing only)

Very very good. I have one for 1.5 years, the qwerty keyboard is comfortable to use (consider the finger size of a man). You can also flash upgrade to android 2.2 & 2.3. u can write arabic with keyboard just visit openetna.com and search in its forum and u will find the solution for ur problem (i am egyptian) and u can update to 2.3 "unofficial update" but u will be not able to write arabic with hard keyboard

i love this phone. some 2.x applications couldnt run by the system but its still my fav phone ever. it has smooth design and its made with the best quality materials. lg makes great phones. i dont need 2.x update because 1.5 is the best version ever( 1.5 is the smootest android ever, no lagging, no crash). im only looking for skype which doesnt have 1.5 support yet, other non-working 2.x apps are nothing more than junk, i open them via my galaxy tab, new apps looks just for kids) i strongly recommend using this phone with Android manager, MemoryUp Personal and Advanced task manager.

This phone absolutely rocks! There's an open source firmware community project available - called OpenEtna.com - therein developers ported Cyanogen Mod for the LG Eve. Just awesome, I did (without any knowledge about anything) the flashing within 2 minutes after reading the superb documentation. CyanogenMod rocks and it's stunning fast now. Everything on the phone works fine, also the Tethering (Android 2.1+ is USB, Android 2.3+ is Bluetooth, too) is useful for me. I paid only 110EUR for such a stunning device... it was the last I expected that this phone is that awesome.

I am on my second handset because I had the first one replaced and it is just as glitchy and horrible as the first one. I really want to love this phone but it has been nothing but a headache. It crashes all the time, if I put the screen timeout on it will randomly shut itself off when it times out, after almost every sent or received txt msg the messaging force closes, my contacts won't stay open long enough for me to get past the "f" entries, my apps randomly close and not from me accidently touching the home or back buttons (which took a while to get used to as they are right on the corners of the face),the keyboard will stop working, my sound stops working, if I try and turn the wifi off it will crash, I have to charge it every 6 hrs at least and I'm talking from dead(5-10%) to full. If anyone knows some kind of solution to my issues other than updating the phone's firmware or replacing the sim or getting a replacement phone or factory reseting the handset as I have already tried all of these, then please tell me since I appear to be stuck with this phone now. Oh ya, it's ridiculously slow too.

LINK: LG official website has been updated to the latest firmware of the LG GW620. The LG GW620 users should upgrade your handsets to the latest firmware, before you can upgrade your phone, you have to make sure you have install the USB Driver and you have to install the LG Mobile Support Tool application on your computer in advance. and the most important thing is to make sure you have backed up all your files before upgrading. Then connect you LG GW620 via USB cable to computer and start the upgrading. The update takes approx 10-30 minutes and during the upgrading the phone is automatically reset.

I use two task managers: "Advanced task killer free" and "ES task manager". One manager sees the tasks which do not see other program. But later processes starts the themselves - sms service, SNS, Moxier mail etc :(

My HTC710 2 year old, I use the phone quite a lot, it's my primary phone. However, its battery works for 3-4 days, when Samsung max 2 days if you do not use it. The new phone's battery was handled correctly, but the outcome is poor. Even the end of the phone battery does not alert any sound - I did not find that such a feature or function is switched off. Hey Mohamed, please check if you can film using the new Android 2.2, film in HD resolution (720p). Lie! Battery standby time is 60 hours, not 600 :(! The battery load, as they should, but it expires after three days. If the phone is handled through the night, several hours after it is was disconected shows only 90% of battery capacity. Permanently automatically connecting to the processes that take up resources. You must manually kill it with Task mannager which is not installed by default - you need to download it by market. Compare with Windows Mobile (I've got HTC) android is poor... And it is not possible connect to the computer to update the version of Android. I not find any solution in LG web page.

no it dosent, learn to switch off unwanted apps on ur phone. imagine u have 20 light bulbs in ur room, would u like to keep them switched on all the time ?? Switch on only the bulbs u want at that moment. that will save ur battery, heating issue will go and phone life will increase.

yes, WIFI is ok and are allot of WIFI Software utilities on Google MArket. Also, browser OPERA for Android is great! After you buy your phone read opinions here below to see how you preserve Batterry life and so on. GPS softwares (IGO My way for ANDROID, Copilot Live 8,etc)

Been to LG mobile site (UK) support pages, downloaded USB driver for GW620 but it still fails to recognise my GW620 so I cannot even attempt the official LG upgrade. This phone is such a let-down. In theory it should be great but sound quality is poor, touch-screen is often unresponsive even when trying to answer an incoming call, you cannot transfer files by bluetooth and it won't sync with my bluetooth hands-free kit in my car although it's OK with a bluetooth earpiece. Hope that something much better is available when my contract comes up for renewal in mid 2011

Well i am an owner of this phone and the android os isn't as great as i wouldve preferred with i look at a phone like the lg ally, but overall specs of this phone is pretty good compared to other droid phones. Compare this phone to a motorola droid and u see that the intouch eve's screen is more brilliant than the droids.... and the buttons r more comfortable! Battery life could be better, but I am satisfied with this phone in the end.

Well I don't want to disappoint you.I bought this phone this morning. I am glad that the store where the purchase was made has 14 days return policy otherwise I would be doomed. The phone screen freezes constantly and enables me to make calls. I surfed the net and saw many complaints about screen freezing. It is a very nicely designed phone, with large keyboard and looked very practical, however it is useless if you can't make phone calls. If there is someone who know how to fix this problem I am all ears.

Is it just me that can't stand this phone? It doesn't allow me to answer when i press the screen to answer it does nothing. The response delay is rediculous... the battery, omg, i got told it was bad, but guaranteed i have to charge it through the day or it will be flat. It freezes up on me regular, but you can't just take the battery out, you need something to remove it... the phone is just awful and they won't let me have a replacement phone... gutted :o(

REGARDING Internet trough GPRS. If you do not want to have allways conection to internet and lose money: In the wiresless settings create 2 ore more APN (access points) and 1 of them will be your orginal one from the mobile operator and the other one just give it a name like "TEST 1" and APN like 1 and hit the Return button (the sensitive key) and it will be saved. Now choose the "TEST 1 " by touching the green dot, and this way it will not connect to your real APN. And when you want internet, you just select your real APN by clicking and making it the green dot. LG RULES!

Hi all, I just brought this wonderful phone on the weekend. First Impressions - If you haven't used a touch screen phone before, this may get some getting used too - the two dedicated buttons are sensitive, has been the odd annoying time where ive hit it and exited out - full qwerty keyboard is a huge bonus. words can not explain how much easier it is to do anything with this. - NZ Spec only: annoying how XT (Telecom) isn't supported without 3G, hence you can not only use the 2G only function to save battery... we'll you can but you just won't send/receive txts/phone calls - Like all phones it takes some handling to get used to. But the more I play around looking at stuff on the phone it gets better. I just look forward to getting a new laptop so I can get some apps going and getting it to function better. Just a Question - I have the data symbol constantly on the notification bar, which is making me paranoid that im always using data. Anyone please able to help me figure how I can disable this/figure out why its constantly up. Oh and is there an app similar to Nokia's Ovi Maps which allows me to use a pre downloaded map rather than use data and use google maps? Anyhow, Great phone, Definetly recommend.

Disable GPS and WiFi in stettings. when you dont need it. Download from Android Market the soft "Advanced task manager" and close all aps that you do not need. Download " startup manager" and disable apps you do not need. THIS IS A SMART PHONE. Its like a mini-laptop.It has RAM memory that consumes power, it has PERFORMANT CPU = 550 mhz, etc. It will have small battery life if its has open aplications. Even a laptop if has WiFi activated and etc, it will die in 2-4 hours :P Also, put 2G networks in setting, not 3G networks if you do not need it. A very good soft is also Battery minder on Google MArket. It estimates times and shows what soft eats your battery more. REMEBER also, the battery will be better after 10 discharges-recharges. And try more to charge from AC Power , NOT FROM USB, it charges better. HAVE FUN WITH SUPER LG Gw620!

Try to see if the attachements are not saved on your SD card. I use Moxier Mail (its an android mail program that can be sincronized even with Outlook) and it saves the attachements in a folder on the SD Card called Moxier.

I have used the phone for a month now. I general good experience. Biggest -ve is no bluetooth file transfer. 2nd problem- I can dowload attachments from my emails. If they do download I cant find where it got saved. Not visible in quick office documents also. Please some one advise if this problem can be fixed.

P.O.S! lasted maybe 3mths, at which point the system slowed to a crawl... calls getting dropped for no reason, overheated so bad after a short time talking on the phone, sound on the call was fine but not clear at all.. i can't count the amount of times i said "what??" on the phone. And then after all this i accidentally dropped my phone on the softest part of my shoe while standing on the grass and it cracked the screen... wtf, cheap cheap crap. I plan on smashing the crap out of every lil piece of this phone once i get a different phone to replace it.

Just got mine a few days ago in fact im typing on it right now. Its generally a nice phone by far the best one ive ever had. But theres a slight problem every once in while a completely straight black line appears on the phones screen and its there all the time. The only way its not there is if I turn the thing off. Ive seen this problem on a few other ones so I probably just ended up with a faulty one. Ill get it replaced soon enough but im not sure if I want to actually get the same phone again or a different one.

I don`t know why I see so many posts hating on this phone. I like my 5200. it is probably the best phone I`ve ever had so far. its versatile and reliable. It does what its supposed to do and doesn`t give me trouble. As far as the battery is concerned mine lasts over 24 hours with light use. so if your battery dies after only a few hours maybe you need to get a life and hang up the phone...

For the USB Cable to work, you have to Initialize the SD Card. Eneter into "notifications" (drag down the menu from the top, where the batterry info is). After that you can copy the software .sdk kits to your SD card in My Computer and after that install them with SDK Instaler directly in the menu of the phone.

Not since the first time I played with a Palm Pro have I been so enamoured of a handheld computer. This little beauty is amazing! I know it's not as slick as the Droid, but it fills a sweet spot in the market that I am smack dab in the middle of. It's a tiny, powerful, android based smartphone with a full slide out querty keyboard - and it's actually smaller than any other handheld I've ever owned. To be fair, there are a few things I don't like about it: The "LG IME" predictive text helper / software keyboard is horrible. Really, really, horrible. Turn it off as soon as you can. For the longest time I thought the space bar was broken because of the way the IME uses the first space to select the word, and the 2nd to actually insert a space. Sad, and on a full keyboard it's completely pointless. But, it's easy to turn off, and once it's off the keyboard behaves the way a keyboard should. :) It's Android 1.5 instead of 1.6 or 2.0. It's a small gripe, really, and I assume it'll be fixed in the near future with an over-the-air software upgrade. Still, it would have been nice if this new device came installed with the current version of Android. Version 1.5 works fine, however, and most of the missing features are fairly minor. The battery. The battery lasts me all day from 8am to 8pm under fairly heavy use with wifi on. Barely. I'm sure I could save a tonne of power and add a few more hours on to that by turning wifi off, but why use my data-plan when I have wifi at home + work? Still, I've yet to actually run out of power, and since it comes with a handy USB cable, I can charge it from my laptop in a pinch. The home and back buttons are too sensitive. Maybe it's just my big paws, but I often end up exiting the app I'm using by mistake. It's happening less now than when I first got the device, but it's still an issue. That's it. Everything else is awesome: The OS. Android is amazing! The number of apps, utilities, and games is astounding. Plus, as a bonus most of them are free! I'll cover the highlights a little farther down. My phone has a command prompt, and I didn't void my warranty to get it. Hear that apple? 5mp auto-focus camera with LED flash that can also take fairly high res video. It works well, and takes a waaay better pic than my Blackberry does. It's not a dedicated digital camera, but it's as close as I would expect to come in a PDA/Smartphone Size - this device is as small as I would want it to be. Small enough that it fits in the front pocket of my jeans without problem, but big enough that it doesn't feel too cramped The keyboard is backlit! Awesome for working in the dark! Has a build in GPS/Compass/Accelerometer. This device knows where it is, and which way it's pointed, which opens the door for some truly astounding apps - e.g. Google Sky. The touch screen. A LOT of people are complaining that it's not a capacitive multi-touch. Phoey to them, I say. I think LG made the right call making this a resistive touchscreen. It means you can use a stylus, and sometimes that's important. This device is small, and my fingers are big. When I'm RDP'd in to a server the start menu button is about the smallest thing I can reliably hit without a stylus of some sort. Wifi! Free data when I'm at home or at work. Cuts down on the data package requirements by a massive amount! Media - It plays DivX and MP4 movies. Sweet! I can watch some Connections or Red Dwarf while waiting for the bus. Mostly what I'm using this device for is as a mobile internet device. I already have a Blackberry tethered to my hip for work, but I needed something that could get me online while I'm on the phone on the BB. E.g. Someone calls me. A server is having issues. I can be on a bus, or at a cafe, or anywhere - whip out the LG, open an RDP session to the server, and fix the problem. For me, the RDP client available for it is the killer app. But, as a bonus I get all kinds of other fun apps. Here's a brief rundown of my favourite Android apps so far - in no particular order: wpToGo - I could be writing this blog entry on the Eve. The client is perfect. Small, tight, and does everything required for a quick post or edit. Touchdown - ActiveSync exchange synching for Android. It's amazing! Miles beyond what the built in stuff does. Absolutely required if you have an exchange server you'd like to talk to. Google Maps - Duh. Never get lost again! Google Sky Map - Truly amazing. Lie on the beach, gaze up at the night sky, wonder what that star is? Hold your Eve up beside the star and there it is on the screen complete with constellations. The device can tell which way it's pointed and where you are, so it's totally effortless to find the star you're looking at. Beautiful! Remote RDP - Remote Desktop in the palm of your hand. You can connect to your machine at home, or servers at work. Fantastic for more things than I can mention here. If you manage any servers at all this app is a must have. Samba Explorer - Browse and copy files off network shares on to your SD card. ShopSavvy - Scans barcodes with the camera and finds deals nearby. A killer app for any shopaholic. Oh, and did I mention the games? There are a few really well done Tower Defence games, logic puzzles, bejewelled clones, and the like. However the killer for me are the emulators. NES, SNES, Sega, Commodore 64. Even ScummVM has been ported to run all those fantastic old LucasArts games! I have The Curse of Monkey Island in the palm of my hand! Basically, I can not imagine a better deal.

I would overall have to say this phone leaves me with several mixed feelings. Lets start with the plus's + the tons of apps that are free + The full keyboard with even seperate numbers + the 5 mp camera + the price (overall very inexpensive now the cons...... - The 3g shuts itself off randomly and only way to turn it back on is to restart the phone... - the touch screen is very sluggish and lag like a champ - The battery life probably the biggest annoyance of all I know how to charge my phone i only charge it fully when its dead like 100%. The battery even idle either lasts you 3 days or 3 hours. - The fact that LG is so technologically challenged they cant be bothered providing their (customers) with the latest update for the android OS (which is still in the works so we are stuck with the pretty much beta version. Overall: The features of the phone make it well worth the low cost. But the horrible service from LG and the known defects of this phone i.e. the battery and the 3g shutting itself off and too important to ignore. Im on my second one of this phone because lg couldnt fix the defects.

Hi Anonymous, I've had the same problem (the 3 lines on the screen problem) as you just one day into using this phone. It's because you plugged the charger in before shutting the Wi-Fi down. That was what happened to me. You need to get it fixed. On the other hand, while this phone has its multiple cons, it does have a few pros. I'm just irritated that those wi-fi apps on the Market won't install. The apps to keep my wi-fi alive. And all the Google apps (i'm not even using it, it's automatic) keep using my data. Any help?

I have had this phone for just over a month. Over the past week 3 black lines have appeared across the screen which will not go away. I have tried resetting phone to factory settings, have taken battery and sim card out but nothing has worked. This is actually the 2nd phone i have had as the keyboard stopped working with the 1st. Going to take it back to the virgin media shop and am hoping they will allow me to change brand as do not want to be stuck with this phone for 2 years.

One of the lousiest phone i ever had. My touchscreen function is spoiled just after buying it for 1 week. Another is that even though this phone have bluetooth function, u can't transfer songs or any data with the bluetooth. Also, you can't turn off the Camera's shutter sound.

Help required please. I have a LG GW 620 that I cant get to grips with. The touch screen is far too sensitive and I make calls that I dont want by scrolling through my contacts list.When I view my emails I cant get them off the phone without deleting them off the system altogether. The battery lasts about 12 hrs on standby.There just seems to be a never ending set of problems with it. It could be user error, but the manual is not good for muppetts!!!Has any body any suggestions please

FYI: LG customer service here in .nl have confirmed an update to Android 1.6 coming "soon". Not exactly a quantum leap nor a very swift action, but at least a step forward. And an opportunity to iron out some of the problems these phones are having. (Or to introduce new ones, yes...)

I own this thing. Disappointed with its performance. so much hangs, have to remove battery to reboot when it happen. The OS not upgradeable. other issue is the unusable bluetooth. For low-mid budget, it is pretty fair android phone. I'm waiting for motorola shadow. Maybe much expensive, but seeing the spec preview i think it will be the best android phone for this time.

yeah you can forward messages, press and hold on the message you wanaa forward and click your option button, it will give you the option too, i do like this phone but it can be very annoying when the keyboard stops working and you have to reboot the phone, apart from that its great :)

The reason why you cant view your avi video files is because you need to convert the video to "xvid avi" or divx.. you can Google for some xvid converter or use "wonder share media converter" and select the option

What they don't mention in the review: this phone is hopelessly unreliable! In the past 10 weeks, I've been rebooting this thing more often than all previous phones I've had over the last 10 years combined! No to mention the limitations of Android 1.5 (no BT file transfer, lousy task management), unresponsive call/end 'buttons' and lack of any possibility to set different call profiles. It still works fairly well as an instant messaging device, or very pocketable mini-netbook. But for serious use as a phone it's a total joke.

its able to use bluetooth to use with hands free, audio head set and remote features (like into a car or other remote interfaces). But no file transfer like the Beam feature on WinMo devices unless you find an app that can use thoses given protocols to exchange data... and you're stuck with 1.5 btw...

This is a great device. I did have my doubts about getting an LG piece after a very bad encounter with the LG Neon, and a 10yr loyalty to Nokia. But I must say this device has been very satisfactory and works great. It's a nice size as well, and all its features are handy. A lot of thought was definitely put into the design.

Appears to be a good internet browsing phone but as stated by earlier comments, takes an age to load up when powered on. Also it doesn't "bluetooth" music to a headset, only phone calls, and you cannot transfer files by bluetooth either (certainly not music files), plus as yet in the UK LG do not offer a working PC suite program so you can only access the micro SD card as a mass stoarge drive with no way of accessing photos etc that are held in the phone's own memory. This is very disappointing for a 2010 phone; maybe there will be an OS upgrade soon to address these points, and LG are aware of the PC suite issue (but whether or not they are working on a fix is another matter)

About Bluetooth feature,this handset ONLY support A2DP ,so the bluetooth feature can't be used to transfering file to another handset (e.g: pictures,data,or music). I have had this phone for about two weeks. It is a great phone with great value. The touchscreen is quite finger friendly, although a stylus s better. It is fast and the qwerty keyboard is easy to use. My only complaints are the relative thickness and added weight. No problems with the battery- 3 days with a lot of wifi, alot of downloading and alot of tampering. Its my secondary phone, so I cannot comment on the talk time. Generally, it is a cheap but nice implementation of android.

not lgs best effort cant bluetooth pics or music files,no sounds when pressing keys on keyboard,music player is totally crap the one on the arena is way better,should of kept best bits of s-class ui like fm transmitter from arena and arens music player.... the screen is so un responsive and not much in the way of customisation on the device and the screen looks so washed out im sending mine straight back to t-mobile and wait for something better which isnt too hard to find...

I`m using my GW620 for a week and the battery lasts 2 days! Battery life depends on the way you use your phone. I use the Wi-fi almost all day when I`m at home. Two things that bother me are 1.that the update for this phone won`t be at v2.0 but at v1.6 and it will be available March or April... and 2.music`s quality isn`t as great as Sony Ericsson W980 that I used to have before GW620. Except those two tiny details, I love it!

What is the video capture resolution ? No site has a definative view on this....is it D1 or QVGA ? Even the manual says 4 modes but only shows 2 startign at QVGA ( but states this as a lower resoltion mode implying there are higher ones which is does not show ! ). I'm thinking og getting this due to price but not if the video capture is indeed QVGA not D1. best regards

I tried to sell it but the offers i got was complete rubbish and mostly scams. but then i noticed something i went threw the phone and bam. i noticed a few things.. from a 12 month contract at 14 pound and a 5 pound internet charge for the month i was like thats reasonable.. and it was a free upgrade so i cant complain.. but first it was freezing on me.. its done it twice.. then it use to freeze b4 my fone would call and just vibrate like it was on crack.. then i noticed a few apps.. which help the software.. and a few things that started to make me love the phone.. yes i can keep in contact with everyone.. yes i can send emails.. and yes i am impressed.. but one thing.. the battery life aint as great as it says on the box.. after going on a long trip like going to work or whatever by the end of work my battery is nearly dead.. imma test it now.. it is 8.. imma do everything i do on the phone like ebuddy and use the internet and c how long it last for but it only last for around 8 hours.. not even that long.. i wanna no how i can help this but all they say is screen dimmer.. turn 3g into 2g and close all apps would it slow it down.. i tired it and it still seems the same.. i might have to buy another battery! and then my phone would be the best! well kinda i dont see it beating the iphone until a few updates come knocking

i have been using different kinds of mobile.. tried all brands am currently using one WinMo 6.5 and this new LG android.. the limitations of this phone are the limitation of android itself.. my WinMo is a snapdragon and i must say that using YouTube and chatting is sometimes faster on the LG. about the battery, when my wifi and 3g is on the entire day, it last only a day.. but then those are off, it last 2 days. i have no other issues. i like it

I like the phone, its a really good phone for a small price. most phone like this are around £500. However, the one thing i dont like, is the way the inbox is. I dont like the 'folders' for different people and the way the texts are grouped. I like the classic style inbox, where each text is seperate. Anyone know if there is a way to change this?

OK, had this phone for 5 days now (UK spec), and TBH I don't see what everyone is complaining about. OK, it's a budget android phone, but for £18 a month on a 24 month contract who cares? The interface is easy to use, with no faults that I can detect. The internet is very easy to use on it as well. And for all the naysayers whinging abot the resistive screen - try the phone first, I bloody love it!

Just got the phone yesturday, and I have to say that this is a really good phone. It is a little more complicated to get used to at first (if your not accustom to android), but you get the hang of it very quickly. my only complaint (since there is no such thing as a perfect phone) is the resistive screen (which works but isn't as good as capacitive) and lack of colour range (only has 256 instead of 16m)... If you are looking to upgrade the os to 2.0, it will be available soon (if it isn't already available).... My last piece of advice is to get the black version. It is better lookiing than the rest and has a nice piano black finish on the front, and the keyboard is black too (not the ugly grey like the blue version. All in all, a really good android phone especially for the price and overall specs.

Firstly, to the person who said HTC is 'not really good', are you speaking from experience or just bashing? For a business user who doesn't need a top-notch camera and likes Windows they're all but unbeatable. Secondly, for those who bashed this handset, did you use it? I've just received mine today, and am very happy. My screen is definitely responsive enough, OS effects are fluid and the keypad is terrific. I'm very glad I waited for this phone to experience Android. The black Rogers version looks much better than the pastel blue version, although that's just my taste. I have been awaiting this phone for months now (even before Rogers got it - a lot of trouble to get one to Australia!) and am very impressed. If you come across one and like the feel, buy it.

Depends how long one's memory is. HTC's phones, until recently, tended to be "brick-like" or they looked like someone had the Transormers lose on them. Often not very attractive. The past 18 months have seen a big change and the past 9 months most of all. I love my HTC Magic....but I have a co-worker's HTC Diamond to remind me how uglyy an HTC phone *can* be.

Wow, everyone needs to just calm down a little. First of all, I'd like to point out that LG doesn't make the best phones, but this is apparantly made by HTC and its running Android which are both awesome. A lot of retail places didn't even have these in stock in Ontario during the xmas season so obviously some ppl do like them. I just ordered one for my gf. It does a lot for lil money.

I have this phone for 2-3 weeks, battery seems to sux not sure why, I charge it one day and on the next one is already dying.... Friends, Its me again I got my LG eve and am Disappointed. The Touch Interface is Very Poor. No way Near to even what I could have compromised knowing that its not iPhone. The Touch sensitive back & home buttons confuses you a lot and creates unhappy navigation. LG's customized Interface (iCons rather) are not pleasing either. Radio, headphones, Keypad are Poor Quality. Only thing What I lined about the is size and the camera but no good for a Phone hence decided to return it back to Rogers. Sorry guys I had to speak the real facts(as per my experience) so that others will decide. HTC Magic will be a good choice untill DROID arrives in Canada.

its android 1.5 currently - LG/Rogers havent said anything about migrating to 1.6 or 2.0, but the mod community is hard at work porting 2.01 to it - I dont find the size inconvenient AT ALL... I really really like this phone - if I had to say 1 thing I wish they would have done differently its that LG would have put a capacitive touch screen on it - its sometimes a bit sluggish and not as precise as it would be had they put a capacitive touch screen on it.

My LG Eve is on its way and I am excited. This Phone seems to be having a good customer feedback. GSM Arena has not much to say but all LG Eve owners are happy. I picked up a T_Mobile Motorola Blur but could not Unlock hence had to order LG Eve. LG seems to be maintaining a Low profile in North America but its Android Phones are picking up good user base.. Motorola Blur(still I have the T-Mobile SIM pre-Paid roaming is good though). Let me check the LG Eve might get it on Tuesday. BTW I got it for $0 as well Awesome.

I've been using the GW620 for almost a month (got it for free!). Was skeptical at first as it is a LG phone. No problems though. Touch screen is responsive. Android is awesome. Battery life could be better but what 3g phone has impressive battery life?

On the surface this looks like it going to cut it in the market place, but please the supported video formats are weak to say the least. N97 may have some lag, it remains to be seen if this LG does, but formats supported does not make this phone a contender with the likes of the X10 or the N900. No DivX, Xvid or H.264 support please. i think Etna is a business oriented phone. That's why, gw520 is more enjoyable. Besides that, Etna is LG's first android based phone, so they prefered not to include S-class. I'm so sure, someday, when they include s-class on their next amdroid phones, it will be more enjoyable.

As someone who is yet to use Android, this is the handset I will choose as my first. The design is very HTC-esque, which in my book is a win. It looks like they sliced the front off a Magic and the back off a Touch Pro2 and welded them together. That keyboard will definitely be a pleasure to type on, and I think for someone who needs a QWERTY plus wants Android, this will be a definite short-lister. I'm actually glad to see a resistive screen on this, as I find these screens much easier to use than that on my iPod Touch 2G. Capacitive screens can be a little too responsive? That's just my 2c of course, and each to their own. But I am very much looking forward to this. Cheers.

htc's wm phones that run 6.1 hv to use resistive touchsreen since wn 6.1 requires a stylus and doesnt support capacitive. however look at htc hd2, their winmo 6.5 phone, it also has a capacitive touchscreen. htc r shifting towards more capacitive touchscreen whereas lg had several capacitive touchscreens before this but decided to make this resistive. they r taking a step back! resistive has several disadvantages over capacitive: 1) not as responsive (dont argue, accept the facts) 2) currently does not support multitouch (and probably never will) 3) must be made of a cheap flexible plastic layer. the more flexible this layer, the more responsive (usually) but this also means its very easy to scratch and looks cheap. 4) since it uses several layers of plastic, colors can appear more faded out especially under sunlight. im still a bit saddened that no company has made an optical touchscreen phone besides neonode, but capacitive is the next best alternative.

Listen-about these resistive and QWERTY keyboard touch screen phones, i'd say get the phones with the touchscreen and the QWERTY keyboard. If you want to keep your screen without any fingerprints, buy a cover to put on it to keep it clean.

If your planning on getting a touch screen phone with a QWERTY keyboard, i'd buy the LG GW520... its already out and fun to use. It loooks better and the ratings are much further up than this one. I have it and i really enjoy using it and its definately good for its price. This phone looks like a waste of money the ratings are low and it looks like it will just break.

okay,people need to take a look at how ridiculous a lot of them sound. I'm seeing several complains at it being a resistive screen. As far as I am aware, pretty much all HTC's WM are Resistive screens. Admittedly both their Android's so far are capacitive, but take a look for a minute. The Magic is riddled with faults...well growing pain's I'd say. Yes, the Hero is much better but it misses out the QWERTY keyboard and it STILL isnt perfected. if its a complaint with the Aesthetics of the GW620, then fine, thats your opinion. however, You have to decide what you consider more important. Capacitive screen or QWERTY keyboard. PLUS resistive screens CAN be very good, look at the likes of the Samsung S8000 Jet, that resistive rivals some capacitives on reactivity.

This phone looks nice, but how about the reliability and price? If this phone is going to cost as much as the Iphone or Nokia N97 forget it! I don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on a phone with missing features,poor touchscreen,poor camera/video at 15frames,no proper flash, rubbish battery life and high breakdown rates. When this phone is released, don't be surprised when you call LG for help that they don't know their own products! Yes,it's true that LG really don't know their own products - how can you call that a business! LG have a bad reputation for poor products and after sales service!

Im sorry but you really cannot argue that this is the best looking QWERTY slider.. In all honesty your eyes must have had bleach poured on them... The Nokia E75 is not only better looking but also has musch a better spec sheet although it is a little more expensive. The Sony Ericsson X1 X2 are also better looking not to mention HTC devices... And they all also have realistic model codes, what does GW even mean???

the BEST LOOKING qwerty phone up to date! 5 rows keyboard is just awesome and user friendly. Nice job LG. having said that, we don't buy phone just from the cover. so if you look at inside stuff, there nothing new and not even the best specs up to date. while other android phones have capacitive, multi touch, and not even office editor capability that I read from the spread sheet. It's a shame that this phone is what you can say pretty girl with average IQ (not dumb though..). but the brand is LG so if it wants to attract attention, it must lowered the price. if LG not comes up with revolutionary specs they have to be economic. when somebody going to release phone that is good inside out? N900 specs with qwerty like this would be nicer.

I think the resistive screen is a typo as the official annoucement (http://www.lge.com/about/press_release/detail/2­1912.jhtml) doesn't mention it. 5 rows qwerty with inverted T are great. Budget doesn't mean low quality in my opinion, simply WM could be more expensive than Android. Maybe LGE will be nice enough to post some real specs.

All Android phones have the same resolution. Only Maemo, Symbian and WinMo allows higher resolution for the moment. Except a change in the future, but for now ALL Android phones are bugdet phones!
