LG Optimus G LS970 - User Reviews

  • Where is sim slot?

  • nicccceeeeee phone

  • Been having it for 2,5 years. Has been great, I have dropped it repeatedly, once even from more than 2m height on the tiles and it survived! + good impact resistance, like honestly I dropped it A LOT + understandable layout, settings can be adjusted easily + handy nice design, not too big or small +quick memo was a revelation to me :D - quite soon (3 months) started having problems with memory space, so I transfered most of the apps to the external storage. Later on I gave up all of the music so I would't have to worry about lacking space for photos. -After 2 year usage it started randomly 'throw me out' while browsing or instagraming -Camera doesn't give it's best, but in comparison the front one is good Overall I am super happy with it because it survived me without any repairing and for quite long, it logs quite some and has some issues too, but it has been rough 2 and a half years so it is okay. Suggest it to anyone who is looking for simple longlife smartfone.

  • Sounds like your phone needs updating. Settings/System updates. Make sure you have internet connection.

  • You can transfer to a cloud or Google drive Or plug the USB into your computer Or get a backup app that will send backups to your email or computer

  • Can you get your memos from the phone? Screen is cracked so cant get to them

  • lg f180 front key problem

  • Does it come with micro Sims card or something?

  • Did it have a Sims card slot anywhere?

  • The best phone in every way. Better than samsung, apple etc...IMO. LS970 sprint optimus g is the shiznit!!

  • how do i get the WCDMA only option in mobile networks settings ? pls help

  • There is no SIM card slot

  • very good

  • I love this phone, have used it for about 1.5 years. But recently it started reseting itself, I had not downloaded any new apps. The phone reset one last time and died. It works totally fine except no cell service. Works great over wi-fi! I wanted to keep the phone for a device to use at home. But the phone will not connect to the Google play store. I have cleaned the cache and data. I emailed LG and they said to factory reset it before mailing into them to fix. Now that I reset it, nothing has changed. It says 'no connection. reset' and I have tried all that I can think of. Any suggestions?

  • this phone is only cdma. no sim card slot.

  • Sleek, lightweight and a complete piece of crap. The battery wears out after only a few months and the screen is far too brittle. My LCD cracked while I was taking it out of the case.

  • So miss my galaxy2. This phone takes forever to load a video. Can't wait for contract to be up. Hate it.

  • Same here, battery loses charge very quickly n ph is always freezing u on me n takes fprever to get into youtube

  • Cannot replace battery. Have had phone for 7 months battery is not holding a charge. I contacted LG (still under warranty) have to send it in and wait about 14 days.... 2 WEEKS including shipping time to get my phone back.. LAST LG product I will ever buy! Stick to Samsung/Sony Much better!!!

  • What is the latest update it holds and what about kitkat please reply any one. I am gonna buy for reliance cdma in india

  • not buy Sprint version only works with CDMA networks, will have a beautiful mp4

  • > warning: to all who may be considering this phone, there is > no gsm network support or sim card slot. It depends on which variation of the Optimus G you have, some are GSM (with microSim) some are CDMA.

  • each service can replace the battery, do not worry about it, 2 days of average usage

  • Battery is non-removable. Does it affect anything? And what if the phone gets hang? And How's battery life? Please reply.

  • I'm actually using this phone right now. It has a light weight to it, it's quick, the screen is big, the only problems I ever have is how it lags sometimes. I downloaded a ram cleaner app so that it helps. It is tough, I've never had a problem with getting music on my phone, the shutter sound doesn't turn off, but overall I love this phone. No problems for me, no unconquerable ones at least.

  • no its not bs u have to get the drivers for it an after that when u plug it up to the pc u will see that slow charging come up its a bug but its easy to fix hold ur finger on it then app info will pop up go to it the ui stop it then u will be able to put mp3 on it it a hi end phone but it can be a pain to figure out oh to get rid of the shouter sound for the cam u must root it an mod the bilprop.

  • Right, can't take the shutter off. Hate that. How do I video chat? the video that came with my phone says it vidoe chats, but doesn't tell me how.

  • Wow, awsome whant one

  • cant take the shutter off the camera and cant transfer music from a pc on the lg g for sprint. its BS

  • May i use this mobile with Relience CDMA sim card.???

  • Why are they apreading the rumor that "This doesn't support OTG". Please let us know what the truth is please. Still thingking...

  • U need to program it.... M using this phone on Reliance.cdma... In nagpur

  • right

  • Phone was great...till it broke. Warning, I did not even realize my phone was broke until I went to take a call and found a hairline crack in the screen. The type of screen is completely unresponsive when cracked, therefore hella issues entail. Had insurance so I got a new phone, then I realized I needed to get my photos off the phone. Absolutely can not do that with a broken screen and since there is no sim card...no way to get the photos off unless I pay for the screen to get fixed at $140.

  • bsnl net notworking pl help me

  • I bought one of these, only the reference is E977 (was detonating why my girlfriend found out she had betrayed her, so the remaining pieces and put in a month of use), and there is almost no connectivity because it has the On the same host nor the Go until the MHL does not. If it was not the only 2100 mAh battery and not have slot to expand memory, would be a great smartphone.

  • I already using LG G Pro since Dec '12 And I can't see any reason to not LOVE it. I love the performance and the body. Highly recommended !

  • Sorry to ask any hearing problem?

  • Sorry to ask any hearing problem?

  • I was under the impression that the above spec sheet was for the AT&T version, which DOES, indeed, have GSM coverage and an expandable mSD slot, and not for the Sprint version (which does not). Incidentally, we FINALLY got LTE on the local Sprint network, and, crap battery life notwithstanding, the phone is amazing!

  • Yeah you only paid $50 but your stuck in two years of hell with sprint!!!! GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!!!

  • Ive had this phone for about a week now and I cannot see where there is any way I cannot LOVE IT!

  • ----------------------------------------------------- warning: to all who may be considering this phone, there is no gsm network support or sim card slot. the above information is incorrect and needs to be fixed before anybody else buys and can't use it. -----------------------------------------------------

  • could this phone be activated on any gsm company?

  • Can't miss a call,that's for sure!

  • lg optimus g great phone i have used many of smart phones amoung them lg optimus g is good and satisfactory.............

  • can i use with a t-mobile sim card

  • LG mobile products are long lasting and good in quality.but samsung is supplying poor quality phones

  • Heloooo LG.... Am Tanzanian young am real like LG and i belv that one day i can touch my dream phone LG

  • I switched to the LG Optimus G from a Samsung SIIII two weeks ago - so far it's hands down better. It's responsive, functions and controls are more intuitive. I used my phone for mostly business and was frequently annoyed by the SIII (different carrier), which sufferd from slow application response (click an app or item in Mail, wait 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 seconds for the app to switch/respond, etc.). LG on Sprint has been good so far, just missing 4GLTE, but the 3G hasn't been unworkable and has wide coverage in most locations - previous carrier from from 4G speed (5 Mbps) to either no data, or crawling (14 to 32 Kbps as tested). Possible CON's - Battery is non-removable but hasn't been an issue so far. - No slot for removable Flash media. Lots of space internally, but the inability to swap cards out could limit some avid media users (kids movies, large music colleciotns, etc). - cheers!

  • Are you kidding me!? The Samsung phone you mentioned is a hunk of junk!

  • I only paid $50 for my Optimus G at Sprint, it's really not that expensive.

  • The Optimus G is amazingly loud.

  • all of you are CORRECT. but? please test the SAMSUNG GT-S3653W its so very unique and powerful. the wifi and internet was so good. definitely it had band that can fastest net. now choose this phone

  • Who the heck cares about popularity? That's something an iphone user would say. Get the lg optimus g it's amazing.

  • lg optimus g is beter phone,best display best 13 mpx camera,fast cpu,2 gb ram,jellybean os

  • Htc One X is more popular.

  • Which would you people prefer Htc One X or the LG Optimus G please answer

  • How do you use the gsm or hsdpa networks (tmobile) when sprint locks the sim?

  • Yeah but these are the specs of the Lg optimus g LS970 not at&t.

  • Hi, I want to buy this phone and my only concern is, how LOUD is the ringtone on this phone? tnx :)

  • THE AT&t lg optimus g DOES have a slot for the SD card...please update the specs!

  • very good phone im enjoying it ,easy to operate

  • This phone is the very best. I have an iPhone 5 and a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I use my LG all the time, the other two don't get any face time with me. It's unfortunate that this phone doesn't get the air time and media attention that the iPhone and the Samsung products get becuase it should. This phone is amazing. Too bad people are brainwashed by Apple and Samsung. Don't get me wrong, they make great products but so do other companies, they just don't get any time to shine.

  • this phone is global gsm and cdma...yes it have sim card slot, but you have to do that:

  • i bought this phone only for one reason, for the gsm compatibility, but now i that i received it doesnt have a sim card slot, so thanks gsmarena.com i cant use this phone in Colombia

  • i buy this phone because of the sim card slot, but i doesnt have it, i can use the phone in Colombia, thanks gsm arena

  • optimus g absolutely

  • It having Microsim slot

  • Don't buy this phone if you expect use with a sim card, it does not have sim slot.

  • beter is optimus g,cpu, display

  • so guys, which is better, the optimus G or the galaxy s III??

  • Can anyone tell how to unlock it and use on other CDMA carriers. I have it in India but not able to unlock and use it?

  • I love this phone, the Quad-core processor is amazingly fast. Me and my friends had a googling contest And i beat the i phone 5 and gs3 by plenty of time. I usually dont like phones this big but i couldn't say no to the 13mp camera and processor

  • ok so iv heard abt sound quality not being upto par for the nexus4 can any1 give hands on advice abt the optimus g im so freakin confused wat abt jb 4.2 will LG release an update soon??? Wat are the other probs faced by users

  • is it same to lg Optimus G-E975 which got live in India today?

  • I have to say, this is the best phone that i have owned. Gone from Apple, Samsung, Windows. LG has always had good phones to me. LG Optimus G LS970, has a great battery, camera, Ram, Screen, Sound. Calls are crisp and clean. Only thing that i have seen kill the battery, is Go Launcher off PLay Store. Launcher is a awesome thing i would love to have on my phone, working all the time, i need to conserve battery. other than that, awesome phone, awesome specs. not one problem.

  • It seems that this phone is not compatible with Saudi Arabia 4G networks, because it has LTE 1900 only. More info here

  • Hello guys I live in Saudi Arabia, my question is, if i buy this device, is it going to work with full compatibility on local communications companies in saudi arabia?specially the 4G?

  • its both cdma and gsm

  • is this phone avlaible unlocked to use in india.and from where to buy. also want know is this CDMA Or GSM, plz help

  • Price will be good. so that it will be hand all of them.

  • dont thik so

  • Now, Sprint version, in Best Buy is also $99

  • I traded in my Samsung Galaxy S3 for this and this is now my favorite phone of all time!

  • you choose the wrong phone, theres 2 versions of the LG Optimus G. One is the LS970 which is CDMA (Sprint) or the E970 (AT&T). you would have wanted to get the E970 AT&T variant because AT&T/T-Mobile use sim cards and Sprint/Verizon do not

  • hey im from canada, i got this phone from ebay. DONT BUY IT if you are canadian!, bell told me i could use it. found out NO SIM CARD SLOT,therefore i couldnt use it. but you could just it on bell as wifi LOL just warning to canadian people.

  • awesome man....:)

  • yes it is wider like S3 LG L9 and LG G are same in body.

  • Hi, I m from (karachi) Pakistan,I have a question from you b. Is Optimus G display is wider then Galaxy S3 and Nexus 4? currently i am using Htc One X its display is taller not wider, i need wider screen in just 4.7 inch space, plz suggest me which one has wider screen, because i have to make order via online thats why i cant check the screen size of Nexus 4 and Optimsu G and they are not available in Pakistan except Galaxy S3, Thankx

  • What space is wasted,Taylor??!!

  • 4800 only

  • Woo getting to pick up this beast tomorrow at BestBuy! Im so excited :)). Anyways, just a heads up for those who are planning to buy this in US. Its only 99$ on BestBuy compare to 199$ in Sprint and its only till December! lol Can't wait to touch and play this piece. XD

  • Wou would be the price?

  • By the way, thanks Scott for sharing your experience.

  • Is this the best of the three optimus G models?

  • how is the price?

  • WOW! Amazing... Im gonna buy this.........

  • I own this phone, and I tell you, it does not run hot. Remember, the LS970 is not the AT&T version, it is the better Sprint version (32GB vs 16GB RAM, 12M vs 8M camera, etc). It's not anywhere near as hot (well, it's not been hot for me at all) as my Galaxy S. So far, I have used this thing for 24hours on a single charge. This includes using wifi, bluetooth, texting, searching Netflix, Redbox, posting/reading Facebook, etc. I keep the screen at 65% which is barely dimmer than full. The IPS screen is amazing, even at extreme angles. LG did a great job of improving Android's interface without mucking it up as others have done (HTC, I'm looking at you). My favorite phones have always been Motorolas because of their high quality builds. This LG just might change my mind on that. If your thinking about getting a new phone, get this one, it's $199 at Sprint (AT&T's low end one is $169, or get the Nexus 4 for $299 (nearly same phone)) and you won't regret it. I passed up a free Moto Photon q for this LG and happy I did.

  • what is expected price in USD and when it is going to release?

  • Hi,, All I would like to tell you as Concern with this phone. it is wonderfull phone and Once if you buy it then you will face the real experince of the cellullar amazing and mind blowing so don't worry and think about this phone whom want to buy L.G OPTIMUS G SERIES

  • Played with it in the store today. Screen is brilliant no doubt about it! Build quality is also very nice. Unforunately this phone runs HOT! Experienced some brightness fluctuations probably due to the over heating. I had the screen at 100% brightness though, which i guess i can't recommend... Battery life will probably be an issue as well. Overall really nice looking and feeling phone with a pretty significant flaw.

  • Which is the best of the three optimus g models????

  • I have an lg optimus net.the best thing about lg phones is that their built- in browsers are the best in the world.on mine it works faster than dolphin browser, and i get 3g when i purchase a net pack of 2g!!!

  • When its going get released in the INDIA....???

  • Thanks but that review is for LG Optumis G973 not for G LS970

  • As far as i know, dmb will only work in korea

  • you can see the review on the main page optimus g; grand slam

  • is there going to be a review for this phone on gsm arena?

  • read the spec again it is

  • is itcapacitive tch?

  • Although this version of the LG Optimus G for Sprint doesn't have the T-DMB antenna as in the Korean version, it is as heavy as the latter. I wonder why. And, is there any advantage in using this T-DMB antenna that the Korean version has in any other parts of the world?

  • wOw! Advanced Features!.. :)

  • is it cdma?

  • Do you know what you are saying?

  • wow 2gb RAM this is great......

  • No microSD card slot as Nexus because LG wants you to use Cloud Storage Technology like LG Cloud or Google Drive

  • looks ridiculous with so much space wasted

  • I absolutley love this phone except for one thing. Why couldnt they have put a card slot in it? I was drolling over this thing until I saw that. Whyy LG?? Why tease me with a near perfect invention!?

  • Hello all, I am going to love this mobile. Can anyone please tell me when it is going to launch and its price in dollar ???.

  • s3 its nothing compared to this phone!! s3 quad core was competing snapdragon s4 (dual core krait) chip and both had about the same results. plus this phone has adreno 320 gpu!

  • optimus G review . vs S3 and iphone 5 + features

  • The 8064 corresponds to a 28nm, quad-core, Krait v2 based SoC. All of the cores can independently clock as high as 1.5GHz. Running alongside the four Krait cores is Qualcomm's Adreno 320 GPU, the first member of its next-generation graphics architecture. We went into a bit of detail on the 320 here, but architectural details on the 320 as well as clock speeds are scarce at this point.

  • This will leave them behind in the benchmark test..

  • cant wait for this to phone to come out, the display is gonna be amazing. just hope the battery life is good, the lg nitro hd's battery life was disappointing.

  • this monster phone is super and for shore will blow out note2 and gs3 since its performance is twice of them and quick memo is same of galaxy note stexting and l series look are awsome and so expected for this also

  • its most fastest and latest in technology than s3

  • its sure to be fastest than s3

  • bluetooth 3.0?!? secondary camera 1.3?!? Maximum hardware but some stuf it's old....

  • gsm missing, hpsa (aws) missing. WHY!

  • WTF !!!! These specs is awesome , but i still don't love LG in mobs sony still better

  • This smartphone has a lot of time till it becomes available for sale. I'm pretty sure that the release won't make LG the leader, because Samsung and HTC will make other phones like this one in Q4 this year. But it's still a wise step to give us some leaks about the next flagship of LG. It makes them more popular.

  • Is that a mistake...Quadcore Krait? Dual core krait is as powerful as the other quadcores available right now. Quadcore krait is overkill, I think.

  • this cant beat the s3 when it comes to sales

  • this cant beat samsung,SAMSUNG Galaxy SIII already has 9 million pre orders on available country and GS3 is not yet anouncced so when it is announced it would sold billions or millions so LG dosent stand a chance agaisnt SAMSUNG

  • I kind of feel sorry for LG, they always come out with the latest inventions,(if not then Motorola), then Samsung comes along and market the same idea with a better success.

  • Erm, Samsung will almost have a new market leader out by the time this is released in Q4!

  • galaxy s3 terminator...........

  • Something to look forward to... Since iphone 4s, hopefully this would turn out something better..and probably the best and the beast!!! Hope they would put dedicated camera key, thats really important.

  • More RAM is better. Thats why.

  • This shoul be good enough to play wow pretty well... on a hd tv lol..

  • Its gonna be a beast.. it will beat the s3...

  • 1 GB ram is enough for mobile devices why 2 GB???

  • Oh my god! This quad core beast is gonna turn down galaxy s3 for sure.

  • Samsung Killer!!!!!!!
