This phone is horrible! I hated it, I had to charge the phone sometimus up to two times per day, I really didnt like this and for this reason, the phone just isnt reliable. Just stay far away from this phone!

I have this mobile for 7 month. Good things: -Its almost never break down for black screen. -Its good to call with -When you think about the mega pixels only are like 1,3 it takes fine pictures. Bad things: -Its slow when you sms's. Not good for people who sms's much. :-/ -When you write a sms everytime you have to spell a word without T9. that is sooo irritating!! It can only spell to i think 200 words. -The calender is bad, and you cant use it for what its really for! Thats what ive noticed..

hi people, using ths cel abt 2ys now its a cool phone displays nice as well as u get cool features for the price ,didn't hv much prob with it....but d battery of ths cel is d main dis-advantage...if u use the came for 5 min ,it says low battery , and then if u live it , u will see the battery is fine , so while using came u hv to go on charging it ,the music quality is real good, but it should have been louder, i mean when ur in some noisy place u can't hear the cel ringing u will hv to keep it in vib+ring mode ...d vib is quite good so u will atleast feel the vibration.....if ur not using d camera the battery will un for about 2days but not more than that...but u will also have to consider d price for which ur getting d phone i mean u cant expect n95 features frm ths price range.everything comes for a price.enyways now im done with ths phone and planning over a e65 or n73me or n81.....

Generally phone is nice, and has good price/quality ratio. But… Huge problem is battery that lasts two days max and the speaker is not very loud, but pictures, especially in high resolutions are great. In addition, it is very easy to connect it to a computer, which “recognizes” it as a flash disk, file managing is easy, and I never had a problem with Bluetooth…. be good

I had my S5200 for only 3 months. It has a cool, sleek and pocket-size design, but I had problems with reception, battery-life and the MP3 player. My main concern was the volume which was too low, even though it was set to max. The battery also didn't last for more than a day. I would really not recommend this phone to anyone interested in playing games or MP3s. It just looks and feels good, that's the only positive features, in my opinion.

To put your friends picture when he/she rings... When you take your picture with the camera adjust the size of the picture to 48x48. That's the only format that fits. Then go to the contact - Edit and straight down there it is.. Try it

You that had problems with putting your picture as a wallpaper. I had the same problem. The thing is that you have too many pictures already in your phone. Try to delete some of them. After try to put the picture as a wallpaper and I'm sure that it will not be a problem.

I have had this phone for just under a year now and i am applaed with it in more ways than one. the sleek look is fab but the phone lacks any distinctive features that would make it stand out with the best of the rest. the battery life is poor and the mp3 is not very loud at all. the reception is sometimes dodgy and it lacks necessities like expandable memory and fm radio. good for younger people who have never had a phone before but for older, experienced phone users this is a no-go. (and the answer the question of "Oliolioli oioioi" no, you can't put a pin on the messages for security.)

hey, ive had this phone for a few months, if you dont expect too much its a great phone, you can add pictures to the contacts!!! you have to take the pic in 48*48, set the picture and you can also delete from pics and it will stay in contacts!! im a young female with my own bussiness and the phone works great for me!!!

I have this phone, I got it about a year ago. I don't recommend it to anybody because I have had lots of problems with it. The battery runs down after a day which meens I can't stay at friends houses without having my charger which is quite annoying. The camera is absoloutly rubbish, it's only 1.3 mp and it's really slow so if your trying to take a photo of anything it has to be still or the picture goes all blurry. It has an mp2 player but the songs are really quiet.If your thinking of buying it then don't! you won't be happy after a few months of having it and it's quite a waste of money.

My wife had this phone and it is possibly the worst mobile phone we have ever had. The battery was replaced at least twice and still lasted no more than a day for someone who rarely uses the phone. If you are tempted to buy this phone: think again. Choose another one, any one, even an old one because it will be better than this one

I have the s5200, and wouldn't really recommend it if you'r looking for a cool camera phone. picture quality sucks, picture taking is indeed slow. Also a small but still anoying problem: if you use your phone as alarmclock you can't put your phone on silence or the alarm will go of in silence. (i'm not joking!) So you have to put your sound on. And the alarm won't work if the phone is off. Good things: it's not an expensive phone and it does all the things required by a modern phone, just a bit.. average.

S5200 sucks big time. Crappy 1,3 megapixel cam, no card slot (and therefore no memory expansion) and finally the worst battery time I have ever encountered. Getting rid of that phone was the best thing I've ever done - please don't buy it, do not encourage or condone LG to make even more crappy phones.

for all those mentioning about the photobook and picture ID, here's the scoop: your pictures must be taken using the smallest resolution (its pretty ugly). then will you be able to attach it to a contact for those who keep asking for money. just shut up. no where can you find a slot for more memory whatsoever. so stop being a baby and buy a new phone instead.

Well, I got this phone for Rs.6000 and man its worth the money. First and Foremost it has a fantastic design undoubtedly one of the best around. When it comes to the camera it aint as bad as some have portrayed it to be, as a matter of fact,it is quite awesome for a 1.3 Megapixel camera. Then we move on to the MP3 player.Lets face it, it aint no loudspeaker but audible enough for a normal listener. It should be fine for you as long as you dont plan to use it to make a thousand people dance in your party.The audio quality is awesome. The phone isnt that heavy so that would be for sure an advantage. 64 MB memory is good enough. The USB comes free with the phone and is very good. The phone has bluetooth. there are other cool features as well like making caller groups,lots of ringtone choices,the display,the themes,the games,the dictionary,world time etc.etc. The most important thing is the first impression which the phone gives.Believe me it looks EXECUTIVE CLASS, it sure does. PS: From my experiences guys believe me CHICKS LOVE IT!

i got this phone for my birthday last month and i love it. great design and great features, camera is not too bad although i don't think it is 1.3 megapixels. looks more like 640x480. the only bad things about this phone is how quick the battery runs out. i have to charge it everyday. also the bluetooth could be a bit faster and the mp3 player could be a bit louder. other than that, a very good buy, would recommend to people who want a cheap phone just to make calls and send text messages.

This phone is shocking i have had it for about a year and getting a new one soon i cant wait. the mp3 is too quiet the battery runs out too quick and when i use my video recorder i can only see what i have recorded i cant hear any sound you cant set your own message or alarm tones which is annoying overall this phone is a failure. If you are having a problem with signal, you need to change your band from pcs to dcs you do this by going to the menu and pressing 7521 but if you lose signal again you will probably have to repeat this to call out again.

A very decent cell. i would recommend it if any body can compromise living with - A short battery life - It eats up the battery if u open camera or record a video. - The alarm is akword.. u can define 5 different alarm times but there is no option for snooze. - Blue tooth is a bit slow... - It wont play amr file if its size exceeds some limit (i tried a 272 KB file which it refused to play). - you cannot create a new profile or customize silent or vibrating profile. and i guess one can find many more... but still i would say that it is a good choice for the amount i spent....

Bought this phone last weekend. I am less than pleased. The screen is way too bright, there seems to be no way to reduce the brightness. The T9 typing-assist intelligence seems to be inferior to my ancient Panasonic GD35 phone. The phone gives a couple of vibration alerts whenever it is switched on, doesnt seem to be a way to turn off that either. Also, it doesn't seem to have any facility to automatically switch off and switch on at preset times. If I am mistaken about these and there indeed is a way to do these settings, could someone kindly let me know the same?

I bought this phone in April this 06. since then I have taken it back to the shop 3 times!!!!!!! There have been 2 faults - one, it sometimes does not recognise the network ! which is a real pain! the other is deleting messages - sometimes it says it has, and then they come back !....... then it takes time thinking about what to do nxt and tells you to wait ! then I cannot do anymore ! I am at the stage where I feel sooooooooo frustrated and I want to scream !!!!!!!!!! the carphone warehouse have not been very supportive and I am going to write to their head office about a refund ! I keep being told that the phone has to be fixed 3 times before they will offer me another ! and each time it goes away for at least 6 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!

once again ... the phone timesout probbly b'coz the keypads on autolock. try transfering when ur on the menu screen. and firstly make sure ur doing the other things right. turn the phone modem on, make sure u choose the the LG USB PORT(highest baud rate) on the PC, make sure the phone keypad is'nt locked. click connect n u're done.

I looked around evrywhere for a new phone and was tempted to but the Motorola V3, but when i saw this phone and saw how much better it was I was pleased with the decision I made. So far I havent had any problems with the phone, so I would suggest if you are planing on buying this phone go ahead, it's well worth it!

The LG software works just fine... jus need to make sure the modems on, choose the right port n the keypad aint locked while connecting. The sound files need to be amplified on ur pc with a sound editing tool (like audacity) n then transfered onto the phone. transfering games wit the USB, not sure thats possible unless messin with the firmware. changing wallpapers has always been simple for me. either upload it with the LG software onto the phone memory or transfer it onto the STORAGE folder in USB(multimedia) drive.

Hey it is a great cool phone, but for the first 2 weeks watever picures i put on my cell i could set it as wallpaper, now it says error to all the pictures and doesnt change the wallpaper. it changes the wallpaper from inside the settings,, any solutions ?

hi everyone, it is a very good phone, by style and function. but it has a major problem, the ringtone and mp3 voloume is relatively low,even very low. my mom has this phone and the only way to make it ring loud is by editing the mp3's and boosting the volume on the computer and then sending it to the phone, otherwise its shame how it rings. one other thing, the blue-tooth speed is SLOW which is another minus! thanks

To Izmir: u can choose the kinda view u need in ur contacts settings (sim/phone or both given as variable) and the bluetooth device setting is set to hidden by default, u can change it to visible to all. ive personally used it with most bluetooth enabled devices n never had a prob. hope this solves the prob

For the price, its definately good. downsides- low screen pixel (yet quite good), no expandable memory (64mb enough for few like me), battery life towards the lower side (still would say average). Camera's pretty decent. Sound Quality Gr8. UI quite fast. PC to Phone transfer hassle free. have'nt tried Bluetooth yet but hoping to have no problem.

Hey Daniel, you only can put pictures in your contacts if the size of the photo is 48x48! It's a bit awful isn't it? And the installation of the CD does not work so I cannot put any pictures from PC to mobile phone and I have gone to the LG delegation and ask for my money back and they said that I should go to the mobile store I bought this LG, and so I did. But the mobile store said that I should go to the delegation because it's not their fault. Okay, I won't never buy an LG again.

Whats that and how do i get it ? Oh yeah for all you that dont know how to take pictures for your phonebook this is how =) Go to your camera and then click the button with the options to change things. Go to size and click 48x48 then take a picture with this and save it . Go to your phonebook and look for it and there you go! Bye =)

I had this phone for five months. My first opinion was just great.But after I use it, it changed.Because the battery is awful. I takes only 1 or 1.5 days.Moreover I dont listen to music or take photos most of the times. Stand by time is not 200h,they should put one zero less.It is only 20h. The LG S5200 is Lush, the MP3 player is great although you can only store about 15 songs on it. Not too bad if you just want to listen to songs on the way to work etc. Camera and video really good, video has sound aswell. You are able to put pics and videos on your comp by simply putting the USB into phone and comp and they are under Media - Pictures - Videos. Phone is really east to text on and is a really cool design. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the sound of it. xXx

i bought lg s5200 4 days ago...i think i made a good decision the camera is nice it plays mp3...and is cheaper about 100 CYP($120) than d500i and the only differences is that lg has no infrared,d500 has a bit bigger screen and that d500 has 22 mb more memory.the only bad about this phone is the battery but i dont think anyone of you will go around all day and take photos or videos so the battery will need recharge all time...the battery lasts 1.5 day if u use the camera etc.another good thing about this phone is that the battery charges as you have it on the usb cable...u can put or get things on the mobile while it charges!To connect ur mobile phone with ur pc just instal the lg usb DRIVER not the other programs cause are rubbish then just plug it and a new icon will be created in your my computer in there are 4 folders storage,my photos,mp3 and my videos, in mp3 put ur songs, in my photos dont put ur photos cause it wont appear on the mobile phone put them in storage(photos must be jpg) ,in storage u can put whatever u want and in my videos put ur videos (3gp). i hope i helped thnx

if i were you i wouldn't buy this phone, i've owned this phone for about 5 months and it's been the worst phone i ever spent my money on, the battery is rubbish i'm now charging it almost every day as when you use the video player or mp3 player it zaps the energy within like 10 minuets, after that it wont let you delete anything or take any pictures, also the predictive text is crap, if you wanna put you own words into the phone, it will delete them when you charge the battery!!! what's the point in that. overall this phone is not good, wont be getting any lg phones again even the new lg chocolate!!!

it will last 3 days on low usage. 1.5 days max if you use the multimedia functions. But good thing is you can charge it thrugh the accompanying USB Data Cable. - One thing to note is the battery indicator is inaccurate and sometimes drop to 1/4 bar and jump back to 3/4 etc...

I've been all over Europe and North Africa with this phone, taking over 800 photos. I have to say that in general this phone is really good, however there are 2 points i have to fault this great phone on, that is; 1. When i try to download ringtones from a company, the network settings dont work whenever i try to change them etc. 2. There is no way of downloading my photos to the computer, which is really annoying after having over 800 photos!!! If you have any idea on these or can help me, please post aa comment, thanks.

OK, since no one replied, I just went and bought the phone :p to answer MY question, no, you cant use external sounds as message tones (sme happens with Samsung D500). and the picture quality is quite good also, better than I expected. I still have to take more pictures under different kinds of light. I use bluetooth to pass the photos to the computer, but you can use the USB cable supplied with the phone. bye

All those who have bad-mouthed the S5200 needs to get a life!!!! I paid �99 (CPW) for mine yesterday but have used the phone a few weeks before buying it. It comes supplied with the USB cable and the software CD - the sound quality is good the phone's looks are g8. I have had about seven phones in the past few weeks all faulty or over-priced. The LG S500 is excellent value for money. If you want a bigger memory capacity for you music files buy a MP3 player! If you want a better camera - buy a digital camera! Keep things in perspective - for the price you pay this is an excellent. There are more important things in life than moaning on about a mobile phone.

ive had this phone for a few weeks now and i think its great . the picture quality is great and its so easy to transfer photos and songs from the phone on to ur computer and vice versa. couldnt work out why i didnt have caller id but after reading these comments its helped me allot. re : the battery life is like any other phone - it totally depends on how much u use it . i use mine quite allot and i charge up my phonr every other day . very sleek phone. easy to use and looks nice too .

Bought S5200 despite some poor comments. For under 100 quid this phone is good value. Were talking bluetooth, 1.3 mp camera, video, 262k screen, ok smaller than d500 but enough for phone size, call quality is clean and crisp. Games a bit boring but downloads available. No mmc slot, but if you wanted a mp3 you would buy a higher spec phone anyway, saying that there is onboard memory enough for a cd or 2. I know the battery isnt wonderful compared to others but I still get 2.5-3 hours talk time. All in all a nice handset that looks the part and tries in all areas to please, most importantly for just under 100 quid. Ask for a demo before you buy, you will be pleasantly surprised and I am sure will buy one.

To save your pics with the contacts: First take the pic in 48X48 res then save the contact on the phone (Not the SIM) and add the pic to the contact. eezy peezy! Well done LG!

I' ve had this phone a few days, and already i love it. Ignore all the bad comments because this phone is brilliant in every way. The only dissapointment is the battery life, which sadly isn't very good, but other than that i can't fault anything. I would recommend this phone to anyone wanting something different and stylish. I had a 6 year old Nokia before the s5200 and there were better functions on it, like standard everyday ringtones, especially for messages, and I could hear it better. Currently, their WOW LG site doesn't even acknowledge this phone. Battery life is shorter than my old Nokia. Other features of the phone are fine so far, but why did LG bring out a reasonably high profile phone that doesn't perform the simple functions I mentioned? I feel as tho LG has stung me and probably won't buy again. But why do people here make so much criticism of its similarity with Samsung. Big deal!!

well guys i 2 have the same phone(s5200) n i tryed to put a picture which i saved thrue the data line; but the phone kept on saying no pictures saved. i dont know Y trully.and the ringing tones!!they sucks.i felt like im in a stupid carnival.but thanks for the slipknot mp3. well! vote gos for 50/50.

i also have the s5200 and it's not that great, the problem wich get's me is when i add a word to the predictive text dictionary and save it, it says it's saved but after i charge it up i find that the word/words i enterd are not there any more, why cain't it just save it like it's supposed to!!!!! don't get this phone if you like things that work !

I hate this damn phone its the most anoying sack of untechnilogical crap i have ever whitnessed, it won't even let me change the damn ringtone, it's drivin' me mad i have had the same frigin' ringtone for the past 3 months , and to make matters worse its the same as my alarm clock so i never liked it in the first place, reminds me of having to get out of bed. If you are considering buying a this phone i would suggest also buying a lemon you'd probly get as much use out of that as you would this phone, so to be straight me + Lg S5200 = pain

LG S5200 is disgraceful, this phone is really crap to be honnest. I just bought 1 and it crashes all the time, never mind the battery life, i have to charge it like everyday or it just cuts out.

HELP !!! Got LG S5200 and am trying to add a photo to a contact (person in phonebook). I go into CONTACTS, EDIT the person in question, go down to the bit where it says Picture and then it comes up 'Phonebook Picture Empty' !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I Have pictures on the phone but it doesn't pick them up - WHY ? Also, Battery life crap on this.

LG own samsung so its no copy... however i think the battery life is v.poor. i only make 4 x 10min calls a day(APPROX) and i have to charge it every night !!!!!and i dont use the mp3 player or games ,im sure it would die after 2 tracks any way ! compared to nokia's which are the only phones ive ever used i was sadly shocked...

Jim sorry - Your question How to put a photo to a contact - 1. go to contact 2. Edit 3. scroll down to image and attach picture (thats if you have the photo)

jim - go into the photo you want to send, look on the screen (left side) OPTIONS scroll down to send a message and there you have it. This phone is out to compete with D800 samsung phone a good 1, LG are still trying to improve there internal functions and they seem to be getting there. LG remember us businessmen need the currency converter to be simple (go back to the old way of converting currency) like your U8110 that was great. Over all your phones are great! ill stick with you as im on the 4th LG phone.

just got mine even after all your banter about it being a copy of the d500 but its miles better..the screen is phenominal and the camera and sound quality rather good..i had a k700 before and im impressed with the lg and if i recall didnt u need some stupid external speaker on teh d500..this has it built in and pretty damn good too the qulity given the size of the speaker... the only thing that bugs me about this phone is the fact i dont know how to take the time and date off the front of the wallpaper anyone know how? (and thats only a tiny niggle btw) i also got it sim free �150 and its brilliant value!

I/ve had this phone for about 3 weeks now. It's not the worst phone i've had but it's not the best eather. The Bat is dire had ti charge it twice in one day And didnt use it that much. Only cost me �150 sim free though so it's worth it's money. There is much better out there...

You guys are funny going on about copys the 1st ever slide phone was released in 2000 maybe even lat 1999 it was by Siemens (SL10) And was alsot the 1st phone to have a colour screen. Although it was red,yellow and blue pixels. So if anyone of these "Slide Phones" are original designs its Siemens.

I don't know why people think this is an exact copy of Samsung's D500, If you see the model name, it's obvious that this is part of the 'S' series; you can see some similarities with the S5100. Turn S5200 upside down, the shape becomes S5100. Just because its a slider and its black doens't mean its a rip off. If you see the Korean market, companies have quite the same size with similar form factors. Plus, these days, phone specs and capabilities are pretty much similar among companies, which results to identical size. I think this is a great design and definitely different from Samsung's D500.

You can hardly call Samsung innovators in design. The D500 was a direct copy of the Siemens SL55. Check out the Samsung D730 - it's so obviously influenced by the Motorola V600, V620 and V635. Just look at the keypad! Weren't Motorola the first to do the flip? I do like Samsung & LG but they are the phone equivalent of a Lexus - a lookalike packed with features to make up for the lack of design originality.

I suggest if your like me (you like being blue-toothed mp3s, pics, etc.) then is suugestcyou search hard for the fone you want. this has evrything i need.. but the storage space is rubbish its about 20 full songs! thats total b.s

This phone IS almost identical to a D500. People on here are saying that it's better than a D500, that may be so, but if you think about it the D500 has been out for ages now and at that time it was released the D500 was the best. Now the D600 has been released with improved features which is 100 times better than this LG phone. If you have ever used an LG phone you would know that LG's and Samsung are very similar to use. I don't think this is a copy, but i do believe that the Samsungs are so much better.

Ok,so it's looks a bit like a samsung slider- and?Weren't siemens one of the first to pioneer the sliding form factor in the sl55,so samsung must have copied them huh?The same with the first clamshell phone,every manufacturer started churning them out,then the first camera phone,i could go on forever here,it's inevitable that other companies start bringing out phones that look and act like others...what's the bloody fuss about?

I have a D500 Samsung and this LG phone, what can I say? LG phone is much better: the quality , the sound, the MP3 player, Bluetooth... every thing is better. Even if the shape is quite the same, the design is definetly different. LG design is smart!
