LG V30 - User Reviews

  • My LG V30+ DS with software version V20f-AME-XX (Middle East version) is still on Android Oreo. I sent an email inquiry to LG middle east regarding the schedule update of LG V30 to Android Pie and here is their response; "Kindly note that there's no official information regarding the next software update...". That moment, I loose my hope that my phone will get Android 9 update. My second phone, Pixel 1, got Android 10 last September, and it was even released October 2016. I might switch to the company that is diligent in updating OS and android security patch (could be Androidone or latest Google phone).

  • Already update to pie, but after update wifi giving me big problem, disconnect so many times, any body having same problem after update or any body know how to fix it, already did network reset.

  • Hi, I bought LG V30 (H930DS), not getting Android Pie OTA until now, I am in Dubai. When it will be available here in Dubai...

  • lg up worked for me.

  • If you don't have OTA Update you have to use LG Software called "LG Up" to update your software.

  • Lg up or lg bridge Which one is best for the pie upgrate? Couldn't get it OTA

  • I also bought a LG V30 used korean version (V300L) more than 2 months ago and I buy it in my country, not Korea. In Sept, I updated my phone to Android Pie via OTA. Untill now, everything works normally, no signal loss or something

  • Hey guys i just bought lg v30 used korean version its currently on oreo version and i'm planning to update it via lg bridge i'm scared that i will lose the signal or something like this any suggestions please :)

  • Durability was outstanding for me. I had a decent clear plastic case but dropped it (or occasionally threw it to prove a point) tons of times with no trouble. Mine got stolen and think I'm going to buy the se thing again, year later.

  • Dude. Don’t worry. Just search for a usb type c IR adaptor on AliExpress. It’s cheaper and u r done! U can use IR blaster remote!

  • Dude. Don’t worry. Just search for a usb type c IR adaptor on AliExpress. It’s cheaper and u r done! U can use IR blaster remote!

  • did you buy an used phone or a brand new one?

  • For those who own the LG V30 how is it going in terms of durability? Has the screen broken? Have you used a case?

  • I bought lg v30+ and I fell into water briefly and two days later the screen is gone- has turned white huh!

  • Any problems with the new updates Pie? How is the battery life before and after Pie updates? I hate updates because they always mess with the battery life so we can buy new phones.

  • Does anyone know what new features that Android 9 has that Android 8 does not have? Just got a notification that the update to Android 9 is available but do not want to update just yet barbecue Android 8 has been working wonderfully on my phone. This is the T-Mobile version of the V30.

  • No, it's not present in this model for sure.

  • Does this phone have the problematic bootlooping like in G3 to V20?

  • I'd get the G7 in your case since the V30's OLED display can get some burn-in if you keep using the same app for long periods of time. Also G7 has a newer SoC so therefore the GPS should be slightly better (even though GPS works very well on my V30).

  • V30 is good choice. U can buy a new used in original box on ebay for $150-$170. U have to read all the details in the ad when buying from ebay. Gl

  • both phones r good. u can buy latest phone.

  • Pls which should I buy for Uber and Bolt driver use? v30 or g7 thinq or if you could recommend a better smartphone with superb GPS and internet network speed

  • I found their is actually a factory "Dark Theme" provided by default deep into the settings. Here it goes: Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Vision -> High contrast screen. This setting will provide a black background with orange accent highlights having high contrast.

  • I got September (2019) security update 😶

  • Dear friend. Go to - >settings - > display - >themes and choose dark theme. That will solve your problem.

  • Does anyone using official Android Pie update know how to change the color of the navigation bar to black?

  • Great. Stick to it.

  • Got a h930g no update for me

  • For the last time. Updates will mess up your phones. Company will intentionally try to mess with the speed n battery of your phone, so u have to buy new phones. Thats why i dont do updates.

  • Use GCam mod

  • Any one from TIM got uldate to pie?

  • I got my update to Android 9. Looks alright. Took like an hour or so to download and install. Now its slow to charge up now, charging wireless taking a while.

  • This is going to be my last LG phone, their software security updates are a disgrace. I have a UK SIM free V30 and still on January 2019 Security patch. This is their flagship phone that is just turned two years old, for 8 months of that, they think it is acceptable to provide no security updates. I can live with quarterly updates, but 8 months and no security updates for a flagship phone is a disgrace. The phone itself is good, battery life is good, but security is important for me due to the amount of sensitive data on my phone. I have had three LG phones, and now I will sell this and never touch LG phones again. Them saying they want to perfect their updates before they release them is a joke. I see they are releasing Pie in other countries after a new version of Android has been released. If they can’t get their act together with updates, they might as well stop selling phones.

  • Bell Canada finally released the update for this model - New(er) Android 9 Yay Just as 10 comes out

  • Which is better ,OTA or down loading through LG bridge.I didnt get any OTA notification in my phone in India Tried through LG bridge,it takes more time and failed.

  • U can use europe open version, link go xda developer

  • Unfortunately, I cannot confirm. Issues regarding different GSM bands used in different countries can occur in your case. Beware!!! I live in India, hence using the Indian version. After updating the latest UI over LG Bridge and using for few days here are my thoughts: a) The LG UI skin on Android Pie seems more modern & refreshing. b) Now we have gesture controls along with navigation keys. The gesture control is very intuitive and I got used to it in a minute. c) The UI now feels more fluid during navigation. d) More secure phone lock down options are now introduced. e) Screenshot thumbnails are now present where when a screenshot is taken, its preview is displayed in the bottom right of the screen in a thumbnail. f) For dual SIM V30's, we now have dual app support. g) Android Pie goodness with Digital Wellbeing & parental controls. The only aspect I don't like about LG UI is the stark omission of a dark mode/ dark theme.

  • i got NFC and iR blaster on my mate 10... the batt still gorgeous.

  • Neither on OTA or LG Bridge update for H930DS Indonesian version, can I use HKG one?

  • agreed! best lg phone is v30! still rocking it after 2 years!!! not changing to new phone anytime soon!!!

  • Update just completed. UI seems much improved. Software Details: a) Android Version: 9 b) Android Security Patch: 1 Sep, 2019 c) Kernel version; 4.4.153 d) Build Number: PKQ1.190414.001 e) Software Version: V30a-IND-XX --------- Since this update contains android version upgrade from Oreo to Pie, I will perform Factory Reset.

  • Currently downloading the software via LG Bridge. Download speed is very slow as it seems the LG servers does not have the required bandwidth for fast download. Details about the update: a) New software release date: 16/09/2019 b) Size : 3.11GB Not much details are shown in LG Bridge about the enhancements except: - Android OS Upgrade - Phone usability and functionality has been further improved. Will update in details after the update.

  • I updated my Indian Ver via LG Bridge. Build is good and worth upgrading to Pie. Not finding any battery drain, performance is good too. I didn't do clean install.

  • Update via LG Bridge PC Software

  • Hi my Indian H930DS having software version V20f-IND-XX does not show any software update. What should i do to get b30 Android pie update, please advice.

  • LG V30+ India update to Pie 30B via LG Bridge 3.11 GB

  • Beautyful Phone

  • Best phone ever made from LG shame that they added notches after this!

  • OTA update size ? Please give the details of major changes.

  • Why LG? why you removed IR blaster from V30 .... This was the only reason I moved Samsung/iPhoe/Sony to LG V20.... When you'll learn from your mistakes?

  • My LG V30 Plus Receive Andorid 9.0 Upadte today 16-9-19 (india)

  • V30 hardware is still competitive today. US carriers like Verizon are already deploying Pie update. This is a good phone for daily driver material.

  • I'd say get the v30 if you prefer superb battery life.

  • V30 is best lg ever made. For under $200 used, u cant go wrong.

  • to this day I'm still using my LG G4 which I purchased used. I'm stongly thinking the LG v30 in 2019 is a good find as it was +800 when new. NOw at $160 it's a prime contender for a great cell phone

  • Get the G7, it'll have longer software support and it has one of the best LCD displays on any smartphone that won't suffer from burn in, also it comes with a better cpu than the v30

  • Get the G7, it'll have longer software support and it has one of the best LCD displays on any smartphone that won't suffer from burn in, also it comes with a better cpu than the v30

  • V30 better. Only down side is the front camera.

  • Very underrated. Lg reminds me of the old school nokia phones. Very durable. Im still using the g5. Just browsing for ant possible issues with the v30 or g7. Seems i cant find any issues which is awesome. Still trying to decide on either v30 or g7 lol

  • same as other variant... plus more lte band support but a few bloatware(korean network related apps) and no fm radio support... currently using v300L with 9.0 pie update.

  • Hey, You need to download FM Radio Application. They must not have included in their OS applications. You can get LG application from here: Or download any playstore fm application, it will work as hardware is present :)

  • Maybe LG V30 Plus H930DS Indian Version is Officially still in Android 8 Oreo. Wait for a while, LG is slow

  • The official LG update for Android 9 (Pie) available in Romania from august shut down directly acces to FM Radio from the smartphone, without Internet .......THIS IT`S NOT O.K..... I would go back to Android 8.....

  • there's no spec for model V300L ??? why?

  • The site doesn't give any information about latest firmware then what to check ???

  • bought used in fair condition for $135 as a cheap replacement for my now broken samsung S9 and i am amazed.i have always bought samsung flagships S6 edge S7 S9 and always paid around $1000 for them.I find this to be almost identical for speed to the S9,and faster than all my other phones. It feels much more user friendly than all of them.It is more comfortable to hold and use.i have many smart devices fossil Q3 explorer watch, ring doorbell,18 smart lights (3 brands)16 cam security system, 8 wifi plugins, google home , 3 smart tvs, xbox1s ,custom rgb lighting in my desk and home theater system ,yamaha wifi/blutooth 9.1 surround ,smart blueray system ,4 phones (for my family),a custom build gaming super computer (6.7 ghz) multiple tablets and smart kitchen ap;iances,3 laptops ,smartlocks and more.the v30 set up to all these in half the time and was simple to connect. i am amazed with this phone 11

  • Check out this link

  • Barring the slightly less powerful SoC, The LG V30 is out and out better product of the two under comparison. I have used both G7 & V30, the V30 is the better phone, a more complete product.

  • Oh so i should get a new car although it is smaller, has cheap radio, no leather etc just because its top speed is 5 km/h faster.

  • I thought Samsung's was world's best display, Because every single youtube reviewer praised Samsung's Amoled. Most of them also criticised LG's Display. That's why I said 'probably samung's display is better than LG' I am not actually sure. But on my personal experience, I did love watching movies on LG V30. Never used Samsung's falgship devices.

  • How did you update, in which country do you belong

  • if any problem for update, reset your phone(factory reset). because software updating or catching file missing.

  • someone please confirm whether Pie update for Indian version (H930DS) has been released or not ?

  • Agree ! I'm still using my V30+ now. This phone is still good even in 2019 and it's the best phone I ever had so far.

  • well the best phone in lg so far it's been almost 2 years using it... camera's are good as well speed and the performance are awesome.. if u wanna try snapdragon chip phones go for it..the price is far economical then the Samsung. this phones beats s8 and the rightful competitor of s8 note...u can easily play online games, battery wont be an issue in this phone..i love it... if you are a lg lover and after getting urself pissed off bcz of these phones in the past (lg g4 or lg1 g1, or g2.) i will suggest u try to use lg v30 or the next series..it will get u a better experience which u never realized..

  • Just go for it .. i am using it since feb 2018 .and going very smooth ...no restarts .. no hangup .. no heatup .just simply perfect ..

  • LG is giving 3g + 4g + 5g support phone.

  • I saw get it as soon as you can, I think it's an awesome phone, the battery took me through 1.5 days if you worry on the battery

  • Unless you're coming from those gingantic battery phones, the v30 I have is great on battery power.

  • Anyone got pie for TIM LG V30 ?

  • Hey, LG G7 Thinq (2018) is newer than V30 (2017). So G7 will be faster than V30. You need compare G7 to V40 Thinq. LG G7 Thinq has snapdragon 845 and V30 has snapdragon 835. I dont understand why everyone compare G7 to V30. Bye.

  • is this phone have a good battery backup? Im planning to buy this phone... is it worthy? please someone.?

  • lg oled display is better than samsung amoled ,white colors on lg v30 and v40 is white , on samsung amoled screen white colors is blue

  • So close and so far the upgrade for Pie never comes to V30ds... so sad...

  • no any issues . u don't make any issues. thatsall.

  • any issues ? burn screen?

  • I'd go for v30. Better battery is worth a lot and enough to choose it. It's also Oled screen.

  • auto brightness should off. then u will get battery backup.

  • i am using LG V30+ thinq h930ds Dual sim. updated to android pie OS . no any problems. both camera quality also improved and good stability also. speed also improved especialy apps oppening. ( include game apps).

  • I'm on about software updates, not app updates, I never update apps, unless they have issues.

  • Hi, I used a V30 and my sister bought a G7. I compared both devices and I can say that G7 is more snappier. But V30 got slightly more battery backup. G7 can record 4K 60 FPS while V30 can only record 4K 30 fps. Audio quality is almost same through headphones but G7 have DTS software enhancement and a fairly good speaker. I like both displays. But G7 is more vibrant.

  • Used this phone for 1 year and now I gave it to my father. No complaints at all, never had any issues. Audio quality through headphones is great. Display is good, but probably not as good as Samsung’s. But watching HD content is amazing. Camera is good. Very clear image with less noise even in low light. The only issue with still photos is that the camera cannot capture moving images clearly. Speaker is average. It is loud but, It’s just ok quality.

  • because u installed third party apps and unwanted apps also.

  • I would suggest to go for the G7. It's like the V30, but with a notch (love it or hate it, you can disable it) and it will get another major android OS update in contrary to the V30.

  • No, that is something from the past, at least from several years ago. LG phones perform very well, they are in fact very underrated. Worth the buy, LG V30 also is quite a looker and it has the wide angle camera.

  • Updates are going to slow phones down, speed shouldn't increase.

  • I'm so scared of the bootloop problem!!!! Does it have?!!!

  • Yes i understand and they are digging holes for themselves. Why i should buy the same brand phone if it goes to crap atfer 1 year... updates should improve the phone not f*ck it up...

  • V30 has a longer battery life, whereas G7 ThinQ has a slightly better camera and newer chipset.

  • same here...i dunno what to choose

  • LG V30 or LG G7 ThinQ..which should I get

  • LG V series and G series phones are good quality .

  • No, it doesn't have bootloop issues.

  • I did the pie update and are very satisfied with it.

  • Does it have the same bootloop problem like the other lg phones? Should I buy it in the end of this year??

  • U do know these companies intentionally screw up the battery and software on purpose so u can buy their new product right? Apple got sued for it! I dont do updates. I accidentally uodated to oreo. Im trying to flash back to original software!

  • Recieved android Pie. Made factory reset after update. Phone is slow, most of the times lags, after update Spotify has issues to open, sometimes music randomly stops for no reason. Camera app is slow to open or close. Even taking a picture sometimes is very slow. It can take up to 3 seconds while shooting a single picture. Also if you are listening to music and open camera app, music will be stopped. NOT PAUSED BUT STOPPED. It means song will be played from very beginning. New navigation gestures are also laggy most of the times. Home launcher (original LG) is restarting a lot of times after pressing to go home. I do not recommend to upgrade it. Do it at your own risk because i doubt that LG will fix those issues. Sometimes phone doesnt connect to Bluetooth device automatically. But it should. It just randomly doesnt do it time after time. And its my 6 days experience so far...

  • just installed. working fine. new navigation style. new animation gif alway on display. new color. adaptive battery. faster ai camera. new gallery layout. battery still as oreo for me

  • Although my V30 is still running Oreo, this flagship phone is so good. And I'm hoping for a Pie update soon. The weight of this phone is only 158g; it's so light for a smartphone that makes it feel so comfortable to hold in hand. My LG V30 is still going strong in 2019 (before 5G era is effective). This phone also pass a Military Standard.

  • Anyone with official pie update can comment if update is recommended or not?

  • LG V20 F800L get pie beta update v28a too

  • I wonder, which one I should choose LG V30+ or Samsung A50? Both phone is great I confuse, please help

  • Don't flash your phone if you don't know how to flash, you might brick your phone. Only flash at your own risk !

  • Thank god for LineageOS. I don't mind not having timely software updates because I usually unlock the bootloader, root it and install a custom ROM.

  • LG V30 H930 software Update LG V30 H930 User manual / Guide Pie Version

  • LG V30 is now getting the Android 9 Pie update:

  • It's not much good if the company is to inept to provide timely security and it has been 17months since a OS upgrade. Less than two year phone already basically abandoned like the LG G4 by LG support. I mean the specs are good on paper, real world??? Without updates especially security in a timely manner, a flagship that's not any better than a throw away burner phone. LG likes to pat themselves on the back, claimed we have a new support center just to provide timely security and OS updates. A year isn't timely, sporadic updates at best. The upgrade and support is actually worse and it was really bad before. I will never touch another LG phone in my life. Already cost them today, I purchased a Pixel today for my daughter. I know it will receive timely OS updates a be on a monthly security update schedule for at least three years. Fool once, maybe , fool me twice, goodbye forever.

  • I am banjo player, i am uploding videos in youtube, i am happy with video soumd recording but am not getting real colour in auto video recording please update in software update

  • Yeah true indeed....

  • (see buddy update came) . LG the great. LG V series and G series phones are very good. good build quality, very good components, military standared checked, original android stock, IP 68, durability, reliaibility. thanks LG. keep going on .best wishes. ( if anybody have doubt check in youtube LG phones testing and ).

  • they telling month august will get all updates.

  • Korean Models should get Pie this July, but man... July is already ending and LG is still cold towards any news. I'll not be surprised they'll have an announcement that it'll get delayed untill August again (and will cause even more delay to other countries). This is really getting ridiculous. People saying updates don't matter blah blah blah bullshit, if Samsung and even the smaller chinese companies can do it, LG should have no excuses.

  • Here’s what the notice reads (translated from Korean): We have tried to provide the V30 ThinQ Pie OS software in the second quarter we mentioned through the bulletin, but we will adjust the distribution schedule to July to compensate for the essential improvements found during the quality stabilization process. I’m sorry to have to adjust the schedule in order to provide better software quality because it was an unavoidable thing to add new UX UX 8.0 to show better function to our customers. That means LG V30 ThinQ users will have to wait for another month to get to experience Android 9.0 Pie.

  • I updated my lg v30 which has a security patch of 1 MAY 2019 (OTA update). However, after updating most of apps like chrome,Facebook,YouTube, etc are lagging while scrolling up & down. I did clear cache but it didn't help. How do i fix it? Thanks...

  • July Security Patch is available =)

  • How about B&O emblem on rear phone

  • Definitely V30

  • be patience. they (LG) clearing all bugs. all update will come august (month).

  • Thanks a lot...

  • V30 or G7 whuch to buy.

  • Great that it helped. It's up to you, the update doesn't make any visible difference. You can directly install Pie if you want(whenever it comes :)) No, there aren't any battery draining issues.

  • The V30 is better. Has POLED display, better processor (835 is more powerfull and economic then the 821), better battery life and has more memory (64GB) then the standard version of the G6 (32GB). The V30+ (the 128GB version) is in a very good price (you can find arround $200).

  • LG v30 or LG g6 which one better?

  • Thanks a lot iabhi for your valuable information. I downloaded the network apps as you mentioned and compared with my oneplus 5 side by side and I found no network issues at all with my lg v30+, network bar fluctuations in the app were same on both the phones. Thanks a lot once again... At present my lg v30 is running on Android 8.0 & security patch is 1 November 2018. I can see there is software update on my phone Version: V20e-MAY-14-2019 Size: 695.04 MB which says Phone usability and functionality has been further improved Should I update this? Is there any battery draining issue after this update? Thanks...

  • I want to buy the V30+ US998. I world like to know if the battery life is good after the Android updates. And if someone made a root in this model.

  • At my side also this happens but it happens once in a while when I'm in low coverage area like at my home. But I don't face any problem with the connectivity of calls/data. If it is too frequent, you can do the following to narrow down the problem: 1) Try to put the JIO sim in slot 2 and enable data services for SIM2 or vice versa if it was already in SIM2. 2) Make sure data roaming is turned on too when you have selected JIO as mobile data. 3) Install Network Cell Info Lite, you will see the meters in gauge section, you will get the idea if it is unstable(Meter movement will be too frequent. Also go to settings->general->sim preference, make jio slot as your preferred one and watch) No idea about the technicality go to Google if you want to know something :) 4) Install one more application, Open Signal, and check the dashboard/maps, you will get the idea how good is your signal in your area and where all the towers are located. I hope it helps.

  • New updates fixes bugs. But the battery always worst than before! Companies do that so u can buy new phones. Never update firmware man!. I accidentally updated the latest firmware. Battery got worst.

  • Thanks a lot I received my lg v30+ few hours ago, phone is great but i have one issue, I am using jio 4g but network is constantly fluctuating I can see the network bar that is dropping and then coming up again and again, when I am using same sim in my oneplus 5 it is working perfectly and no network fluctuations on my op5.

  • Poco have worst screeen

  • buy good branded latest phones buddy. ( apple,LG,asus, samsung, huawei, google, sony).

  • Hello guys. I am hesitant to buy this phone since it has an issue of image retention. Is it really worth to buy or should I go with Pocophone F1? By the way how many of you have the said problem?

  • all new updates will come in august (month).

  • On firmware update, if the battery life gets hit, it is due to the bad design of some application which is draining the battery. Only solution is to find that application and uninstall or update the same. To give you an idea, if Android restricts a certain permission and wants user to grant permission explicitly, then that application will keep on running and trying to access something in the background but it can't ask to user as application is not updated and as a result it will keep on trying again and again and drains the battery. Well this example is just to give you the idea. So, OS is never to be blamed as it gets released after lot of testing and scenarios. Rather they are more optimized for battery. It is always the applications that we have installed.

  • Yes, it supports.

  • Hi, I am from India, just want to confirm whether lg v30+ supports Jio VoLte Thanks

  • This is clearly still one really good phone,it must be the best phone bargain these days,as price can be really low. I have no idea why people buy medium range phones more expensive than this one,or even top range phones for a high price, when they can have this. Best parts: Battery life, lightweight, fast. The only negative things are the fact that you can not do mobile data while talking on the phone at the same time. My Samsung S7 did this. I can live with it though. Then the selfie camera is not so good, but I don't care much about that. I can get whatever new phone I want for free but I'm still keeping this one for now. For me to change it it needs to have similar or better battery and weight,as this is really important for my daily good feeling about the phone. And smaller or at least not bigger physical size.

  • Yesterday I sold my 11 month LG v30 plus for rs 25000/-, which I purchased for rs 37000 /-. For the last 10 months it has the same firmware update and I was not satisfied with battery life. For the very first month it has very good battery life but when I updated it on 29 August 2018, suddenly it's SOT decreased and it's there for next 10 months. The last update on June has slight batter battery performance and screen on time. I think it was a very good phone but LG failed to support it.

  • Thanks for the link. So it seems LG has failed to keep the promise of delivering Android Pie update by Q2, 2019. However as this mostly will be the last major software upgrade for V30, I think it is better to wait for one or two months more and receive their latest UI layer (LG UX 8.0) with Pie which will make available to us a more polished UI and more useful features. As LG has now confirmed they will do their best to push this update in South Korea by July, in other countries it will arrive one to two months later. Lets cross our fingers and see if this update hits the shores of India by end of Aug 2019.

  • LG V30+H930DS ThinQ is running in oreo OS.

  • What versions get Oreo update

  • No, LG V30 US998 version doesn't get Oreo Update. In order to get Oreo or Pie update in the near future, you have to download Oreo KDZ File and Flash your phone using LG Software called LGUP (which can be downloaded in internet). How to Install Official Android 8.0 Oreo on Unlocked LG V30 US998: Download Stock Oreo KDZ File for LG V30 US998 from XDA Developer: This is how to get Oreo firmware update for LG V30 US998 version via Flash (because US998 doesn't get OTA update). You can succesfully flash your phone if you learn the instructions and follow them carefully. But don't do it if you don't know how to flash, because you may brick your phone if doing the wrong steps of flashing. Do it at your own risk !

  • I wanna get the LG v30 us988 version....has this particular version gotten Oreo update?

  • LG V30+ThinQ is the best phone still 2019.

  • A50 is an upper Midranger phone with a good spec whereas V30 is a Flagship eventhough it's older. These are things that present in LG V30 but absence in A 50: NFC, IP68 Dust/Waterproof, Always On Display, HI FI Quad Dac 32-bit/192kHz audio, Great Video Functions, and Alumunium Body. The choice is yours, but I love using my LG V30+ThinQ right now.

  • Is there support for portrait mode

  • V30 ofcourse. It may old but still flagship.

  • Have been using LG for last 4 months its excellent phone build in DAC ( can play native DSD files!! (recommended app: ,,usb music player,, :O, and can handle audiophile headphones as far I remember: up to 500 ohms ), 6.1", grate camera possibility, lots and lots of options !!!, Superb battery live. Cons: for some users: supported android version nr 8.0

  • Lg v30 or samsung a50?

  • Other change I noticed is the Always On Display. Now we can customize with some nice colours of clock and there are more types too.

  • Today I received the OTA update in India. This is the first update since I bought the phone in Jan, 2019. Version: V20e-MAY-14-2019 Size: 694.04 MB The update is said to improve phone functionality and usability. The only change I noticed is the android security patch got updated from Nov, 2018 to May, 2019. Let's hope we get the Pie update soon.

  • All variants of LG V30 have + Hi Fi Quad DAC Sound + 32-bit/192kHz audio + 3,5 mm Jack + Great Video recording + Wide + Ultrawide Camera + Oled Screen + IP 68 Dust/Waterproof + High Res Screen 1440 x 2880 pixels + Gorilla Glass 5 + Always ON Display + Android 8.0 Oreo upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie + Snapdragon 835 + NFC + Stereo FM radio with RDS + Acceptable Battery Life of 93h gsmarena battery test. V30 has almost everything on it and the price is so cheap in many online stores around the world today, like ebay for example. I got a second hand unit ThinQ model 256GB/6GB for only USD 230. To me this phone is the best value for money right now and a right choice. Cheers !

  • You are most welcome!!!

  • LG V30+ H930DS Dual sim Phone is very good.

  • V30 is a really good, capable, and amazing phone. I'm a happy user of this phone !

  • Thank you so much. Awesome and detailed review.

  • Thanks for putting up. I checked and got it at my side. But you never know it might come quickly too :)

  • I'm using lg v30 plus for last 18 months without a protective case or screen guard.... The phone had fell down from me more than 10 or 15 times nd that too into concrete surface nd in to tiles.... But the phone does an amazing job in surviving all those drops... It only had minute scratches....

  • Today I received a new update containing may security patch. There is improvement in phone functioning, as always it is as buggy as ever. This is also a bad news for LG V30 Indian users, as Lg had earlier said they will update Lg v30 to android Pie by the end of June and now they updated our phones with a security update, this means it will be another 2 to 3 months before a android Pie update will be released in India. LG is the only smartphone manufacturer who update their flagship smartphones once a year. They should learn from Chinese manufacturers.

  • V30, V30+, V30sThinQ, V30s+ThinQ, V35 ThinQ - These are all great phones from LG.

  • I am a US user and it's V30 ( not V30+) and Service is very poor here ....It takes 2+ weeks for them and no proper communciation ( I have to live with my old phone or sometimes no phone untill they fix and send)

  • No pie update?

  • This is a bad news for us LG v30 plus users in India. My LG v30 plus is also 10 months old but its working fine, I think I'm gonna sell it as soon as possible. My last flagship smartphone was Samsung Galaxy note 4 and that also died with-in 12 months, Samsung India repaired my phone for free and I sold that also straight away after repair, but even after repair it was sold for a reasonable price and now you can buy a brand new LG V30 plus smartphone for less price in market. LG phones doesn't carry a great resell value. Yours Lg v30 plus is going to die in a matter of time, so don't waste time and take it to LG service center.

  • I am facing boot loop issue with my V30 (automatically restarts and long beep ), Did someone noticed that ? FYI - I am using for 10 months without any issues

  • Thank you so much! Will try it soon!

  • I am truly impressed with my LG V30+ Bang & Olufsen (B&O) edition smartphone. As on 20th Jan, 2019 I bought this phone spending INR 23,249 without any exchange from an e-commerce website after heavy discounts. After spending few months with this phone I must admit it punches way above its current asking price in both build quality & performance. V30+ was LG's 2018 flagship and it looks and feels like a flagship in 2019. It is manufactured in Korea and you get bundled B&O earphones with this package. BUILD QUALITY: V30+ has all the hallmarks of a true flagship and combines quality and in-built durability to deliver a real-life premium smartphone experience. Just by holding the phone I can feel the quality, superior craftsmanship and distinctive design. It amazes me to see the precise attention to the finest details like harmonizing the rounded edges on the screen bezel with the corners of the phone to offer a compact, pocketable experience while having a big 6 inch display. At V30+ core is the strength of an H-Beam metal frame carved out from single block of aluminum. Mind you the frame is not made by stamping process which is easier and cheaper but 3D CNC machined from a single metal block. It can even take nearly an hour to precision mill & carve out the desired shape of the frame out of the metal block. This results in a perfect pillowed body that flows seamlessly into the sculpted front & back 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while being robust enough to endure life's everyday knocks. With this level of visual and structural quality it is no wonder V30+ meets the MIL-STD-810G military drop & shock resistance standards. V30+ also comes with true IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and can withstand up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. So even if I operate the phone at pouring rain I have the peace in mind there will be no water damage. I love my phone's (silver color variant) classic design, understated looks, compactness while bringing robust structural integrity, attention to detail and the quality of a high-end flagship to everyone at such a low price. DISPLAY: For V30+, LG uses its own in-house developed 6 inch notch-less P-OLED panel with modern 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is of Quad HD resolution but you can scale it down to FullHD from phone settings if you want more battery life. I always keep it at max resolution. A big positive is the display is HDR-10 ready which means you can enjoy brighter videos with crisper details and richer colors. V30+ display is 0.3 mm wider than LG G7 display and provides more immersive gaming & video content experience. Personally with my unit I experienced no graininess or color shift in the display. Benefits of OLED over LCD are obviously lower power consumption & less display heat. All in all, it's not the best display, but it is high-res, bright (upto 616 nits), vibrant, has nice blacks which I enjoy a lot. LG UX: Needless to say, V30's user interface (LG UX 6) is well thought, designed & optimized overlay on top of Android Oreo while delivering smooth & lag-free user experience. I have no complaints against LG's custom UI, however just like any other custom skin it may not be to everybody's taste. The amount of customized features hidden under tons of sub menus is just insane on LG's UI. LG is very slow in rolling out software updates but we are confirmed Android Pie is due by Q2, 2019. SNAPDRAGON 835: V30+ ships with last year's Qualcomm flagship, but remember it still is the third best SoC out there after SD845 & Kirin 980. Flagship SoCs are powerful enough to breeze through any app for next 5 years, so SD835 is plenty powerful. And yes, SD835 will throw SD710 out of the water in terms of both CPU & GPU performance. V30+ main price-wise competitors usually come with SD710 like Nokia 8.1. Saying that both SD835 & newer SD845 uses same 10 nm manufacturing process which denotes both are very power efficient & provide great battery life. For gaming I played PUBG & Asphalt 9 at highest graphic settings on my V30+ and even after two hours of continuous game-play the phone showed no signs of stutter or frame drops. I believe the clever integration of a copper heat pipe integrated to metal chassis did wonders here and absorbed & dispersed heat away from SD835 to minimize any risk of overheating. This greatly improved my sustained gaming experience. Also the use of OLED instead of regular LCD panel resulted in less display heat. Mix in 4 GB of latest LPDDR4x RAM with 128 GB of ultra-fast UFS 2.1 flash storage my V30+ becomes a multitasking king with blazing fast read & write speeds. CAMERA: V30+ always had excellent camera hardware to challenge other flagships from Samsung or Apple on the open. I find the rear camera module pretty interesting and it seems LG have put a lot of thought & effort behind the specs & materials used there. The main rear camera uses a high quality Sony IMX351 sensor with 16 MP resolution. The sensor is a 10-bit HDR Image Sensor to detect more colors for better color accuracy and it supplemented with big, bright F1.6 lens. The most interesting part is the first lens of the 6 lens configuration is glass rather than plastic allowing more light to enter the sensor. The main camera supports all kinds of stabilization, both OIS & EIS for still pictures and shooting videos. The second rear camera is a 13MP wide angle lens, unfortunately not supporting any kind of stabilization. Saying that I love the wide-angle camera as it covers so much area in a single shot. The pictures shot with default camera app turns out great with good amount of detailing, excellent contrast and in having well balanced exposure. Additionally, side-loading Google Camera app from XDA forums and using Google's HDR+ image processing routines improves picture quality to near Google Pixel 2 XL level!!! Videos upto 4K@30fps are supported by the rear camera and the best I have personally seen on any phone. The front 5 MP wide angle selfie camera is adequate at best though it could have been better. All in all for the price tag of around INR 23K after discounts, V30+ is a no-brainier and is the best smartphone you can buy. Just go for it.

  • I bought LG V30+ a month ago. It's a very good phone, the Size and weight are about perfect and this phone is so convenient in hand.

  • LG V Series and G Series Phones are very good.

  • Am in Nigeria. Which is the universal version?

  • Adding two more cents to my LG V30+ review below: AUDIO --------- Music lovers rejoice as V30+ retains the ubiquitous 3.5 mm headphone jack and true Hi-Fidelity audio, courtesy to an in-built audiophile grade 32-bit ESS Sabre ES9218P (DAC + Audio Amplifier) chip. Hands down this is the best audio DAC a phone can have. It also pleases me to find LG have made some genuine efforts, unheard in the smartphone industry to keep the audio as pure as possible through different layers of the software stack to the 3.5 mm jack. Sound signature through the audio jack is of typical ESS fashion with precise airy highs, mids with excellent vocal timbre but lacking a little warmth while lows are tight & controlled. Plug in headphones of over 50 ohms impedance and you are greeted with more gain (increase in volume) with the audio amplifier providing more juice to drive even hard to drive headphones. The stock music player is very easy to use while supporting high quality audio files upto 32-bit@384kHz PCM & DSD256 formats. For critical listening I always prefer full sized cans over earphones. But that's my choice so others may vary. With V30+, I generally prefer to use my Brainwavz HM5 for critical listening. These cans are of 64 ohms impedance and the sound quality is phenomenal when paired with V30+. These neutral sounding over-the-ear closed-back headphones provide precise instrumental and vocal details throughout the entire sound spectrum with awesome stereo separation. Bass heads beware as HM5 are made for studio monitoring hence you get just the amount of bass as the music director intended. For causal listening I go for Cowon EK2 in-ear earphones. EK2 is one of the few earphones where I experienced the openness which is generally associated with open-backs. Well detailed and composed EK2 to me beats headphones twice or thrice its price. V30+ supports latest Bluetooth 5.0, hence great Bluetooth range with headphones. Supplemented with in-built Qualcomm's aptx HD & Sony's LDAC support the phone can now transmit high-res 24-bit audio over Bluetooth rather than mundane 16-bit found on almost all phones. If you own a complaint Bluetooth headphone like Sony MDR-1000X you can now hear the difference in audio quality. The list does not end here as V30+ also supports Master Quality Audio (MQA), so if you use audio streaming apps like Spotify or Tidal you now get even better audio quality with MQA mastered tracks. In short LG have made V30+ any audiophiles go to dream toy and have packed it to the gills to satisfy any music lover. BATTERY ------------- On paper the 3,300 mAh battery isn't small by today's standards, but it's not record-breaking either. That said battery life has been great. So much so, in fact, that with my heavy use in a day I haven't actually managed to bring the handset to the point where it shows up at 20% left. The supplied Qualcomm QC 3.0 certified wall charger is rated at 16.2 watts (9V, 1.8A) max and supports fast charging. After the recent Samsung Note battery fiasco LG seems to have dived deep to keep the battery healthy & safe on long term basis. Hence in V30+, LG has implemented Qnovo's latest adaptive charging technology (QNI) at hardware level. Note that not many phones implement this licensed & expensive technology and as far as I know only two brands Sony & LG are ones who use them on their flagship phones. However the latest QNI technology from Qnovo's stable can only be implemented on phones using Snapdragon 835 onwards, as it requires hardware support from the SoC. Once you put the V30+ into charging using the supplied wall charger, QNI with the help of SD835 measures & monitors the battery for nearly 20,000 times (that's right!!!) on a single charge to deliver the optimum charging power load to the battery at any point of time. This ensures fast charging without the expense of sacrificing battery lifespan and ensures longevity. Results are astounding with 0 to 50% charge in 32 mins, 0 to 75% in 47 mins, 0 to 85% in 60 mins, 0 to 90% in 68 mins & 0 to 100% in 102 mins flat. V30+ also supports USB-PD however the charging speeds are identical to QC-3 supplied wall charger. You also get fast wirelesses charging built in. All in all for the price tag of around INR 23K ($330) after discounts, V30+ is a no-brainier and is the best smartphone you can buy. Just go for it.

  • Hi friends....LG did it,LG V30+ the great phone that was smooth, there are tons of options for user seemless experience, call sound quality is fine and good call reception, screen was awesome...last the hifi quad dac audio is fantastic with even cheap headphones...back camera was good and front camera was average...128gb of rom is enough and 4gb of ram itself gives smooth gaming and seemless experience...i bet everyone loves it for sure.

  • I'm putting up an excerpt from a Reddit post: "Camera Shutter Sound and Regions: So, I'm from Australia and my camera never makes a sound when I take photos. However, I'm currently travelling in Japan and noticed that my camera kept making a shutter sound. I did some research and found that in some countries, it's mandatory for the camera to make a sound when taking a photo." So, this is enforced by government laws. The solution to this is: 1) Install OpenCamera(uncheck sound option) or GoogleCamera(check reddit for V30 specific discussions you will get stable APK from there. Then disable sound). 2) Try changing the region of your phone, it disables sound for other manufacturers not sure about LG. If it is coded in driver level for regional softwares then it might not disable.

  • Hasn't worked. it makes the sound even in Silent mode. There's no option in the camera settings to disable it either.

  • If your problem is with Android then never use a Android phone. But my V30 is as smooth as my friends iPhone 8. Maybe you got a defective product but rest all other points regarding the cameras, speakers, etc are invalid. The only con I noticed is the selfie camera is not upto the flagship level. But the rear cameras were among the best even in early 2018 and even now it's the best in the 20k to 25k range at it's current pricing in India and not to mention to the iPhone 8 costs twice as much the V30.

  • Telling you what. As i was not in a mood to spend more bucks behind apple products so was looking for a year or two years old high end android phones which i was hoping to get in bargain rates like V30. On other side i watched many reviews before buying it. Surprisingly almost reviews make me urged to buy this device! I bought and the nightmare started! Trust me bro, it is no were near to iOS device! Android is not that smooth and fluid as iOS devices are. Its camera hugely disappointed me. I literally stopped shooting the pics but luckily i got a chance to sold it in 19K and bought the iPhone 8 plus 256 in a special rate of 69K.

  • Switching OS is personal choice like for me IOS is really pain to operate. About your opinion on: Lagging - no, it never, rather it is better than iPhone 8. Tell us more like where and how it lagged? It never happened with anyone unless you installed some bad application which screwed the device. I can do that in IOS too all you need is run some code on the main threads and freeze the UI so it depends on the application developer mostly, how well they built. Camera - It has one of the best camera in market better than iPhone. I no more carry my expensive mirrorless cameras on trips. Also, if one knows how to operate manual modes for both still and videography then you can create wonders because by the time you adjust expensive DSLRs/Mirrorless this little beast has done its work. I have created some amazing concert 4K videography with this which records dual channel sound in HD. Front camera - It is decent enough not that something which is terrible bad. Even front camera clicks great pictures unless you are looking to hide your wrinkles/scars. Ear speaker - No comments, as for me it is fairly loud rather I need to have it at around 60-70% if the call is on Duo/VoLTE If somebody gives me an option(in my dreams) to take any one device for free among(iPhone 8 and LG V30), well I'll choose iPhone8(yes you heard it right) and trade it back in market to get two LGV30s and gift second one to my parents ;) That's how good this device is. Because lot of devices with great specs come and go in market but exceptional piece of hardware, software, battery are rare to find. Even LG V40 is not that up to the mark.

  • LG giving new software updation.

  • Maybe you got a defective product. My LG V30 shoots as great photos as my friends iPhone 8, the speaker, the battery life, the screen are much better than the iPhone 8. Besides I find the iOS pain to use compared to Android.

  • Nope bro! It was nightmare! I switched from iOS to android and it was my mistake to choose LG phone, it lags, poor camera, even the front ear speaker is weaker than my previous iPhone 7! Sold it with in 11 days and bought iPhone 8 plus in 69 K on amazon!

  • Yep ! It has worstest cameras in the current market! I sold them with in 11 days. Bought iPhone 8 Plus and I’m enjoying it the most.

  • No,it worked recently on my Samsung S7.

  • When did you get the update

  • That's your carriers problem

  • After 2018 August yesterday i received 2019 April security patch for my LG V30+ H930DS. But still no android 9!!!

  • Big batty man

  • if you want to take photos without the sound of the shutter, try to be in silent mode or on wibration. Shutter sound will appear only while sounds turned on. :)

  • Buttt...still notice that it is u,right?

  • same here

  • Mobile data won’t work during calls on my lg v30 h930.

  • Hello. I have a question for lg v30 owners. My model lg v30 h930 can not use the internet data while talking on the phone. They work separately, but not together.

  • V30 is better than G6. I haven't noticed any issues with the stabilisation apart from the 1080p 60fps which is little jerky even the G6 has those issues. Check gsmarena reviews for both phones. The V30 is lot better than the G6 faster chipset, better screen, better battery life, better cameras.

  • Man. I hate updates!!!! Battery always worst after updates! U need to flash rom back to original os.

  • Which should i get the cheaper g6 or this?? Because I've heard the camera has stabilization problems

  • Theres much discussion about the screen on this phone. My screen is very good, theres a very slight blue tint when viewing at an angle, other than that its an excellent OLED screen.

  • Thanks for the reply. I've wasted days trying the fix this. Suddenly I seem to have fixed it now. I didn't have auto update on in google play. I updated all the apps, then a system update came through too, and now its working perfectly.

  • I haven't noticed any problems with the wifi in my one month of using it. I have only used it twice though for 20 to 30 minutes both times at a Railway stations.

  • I bought a v30 H930 just over a week ago. The phone is great in every way except its got an unstable wifi connection. Every so often the internet connection will drop, I sometimes see 'Avoided poor internet connection' message in the Wifi settings next to the network name. Theres nothing wrong with my wifi router, signal strength, my other devices have no connection problems. I've tried turning DCHP off and using a static address etc, nothing makes much difference. Has anyone else had wifi problems ?

  • Front camera -worst

  • Best phone over all even in 2019

  • Best back cameras at 25000 INR.

  • I got one for 25k on Flipkart last month. Best device I have ever owned at that price it's simply the best. Better than all other midrangers from Oppo, Vivo, etc.

  • Worst front camera

  • Hope you enjoy it! If you get one with a good screen, this is still one of the best phones you can buy imo.

  • I’m getting one today, ordered for 23K from Flipkart, switching from iPhone 7 to LG V30. Used my iPhone for 3 years. Hope I will enjoy it.

  • 100% right & i can swimming with it

  • Lol you must be trolling maybe the P8 lites selfie camera is slightly better than the the V30s but the rear cameras of the V30 are miles ahead of that P8 lite. You are very much comparing the total battery usage of the P8 lite with the screen on time of the V30 as the V30 easily lasts me 32 to 36 hours with 5 to 6 hours of Screen on time with 15% battery left that too with the AOD and Location on 24 hours a day. Also the V30 uses a large 6 inch QHD display vs your Honors 5.2 inch FHD. The V30 at it's current price is much better value than the so Chinese midrangers. The 6 inch QHD OLED HDR 10 display, top notch dual rear cameras with those extensive modes including the manual mode, hifi QUAD DAC, hifi audio recording, IP68 rating, the beautiful design, AOD, wireless charging, SD835 processor all these blow your P8 lite out of the water.

  • Nope. Not available.

  • The shutter sound is made even in Silent mode.

  • I searched the Sound tab. nothing available for the camera!

  • Thanks! Will check it out.

  • Is there no mute option on the camera setting?

  • I discovered with my first LG, the V20, that you can only disable the sound by turning the phone to silent. A big negative for me as far as purchasing another LG in the future.

  • You can disable camera sounds. Check in the Settings -> Sound tab. Not sure which one exactly was disabling the sound from the camera but is somewhere in this tab.

  • You can't do that with native application. I think it is enforced due to government laws. Install OpenCamera or GoogleCamera(check reddit) they have option to silence the sound.

  • How do I disable the camera sounds? Even in Silent mode, there's a shutter sound when a photo is clicked. Thank you in advance!

  • Great phone, coming from Samsung S7. Lightweight, very good battery life. Quick. The extra size compared to S7 is not optimal as I like compact phones. Front camera not so good.

  • from bangladesh

  • I m going to buy lg v30.... needed battery backup, tnk u

  • I got 4.5 hours of SOT with total usage of 32 hours with 15 percent of the battery left with the first charge. My usage was around 1 hour of YouTube, an hour and a half of Chrome, half an hour of camera shooting pics and even videos, another half an hour on Facebook checking and sharing memes and few other apps like Music, Dream 11, etc. and NO GAMING. Few things to note I had the AOD enabled all the time, Location on and the weather app updating weather every hour in QHD resolution and with LTE data no wifi. Also some of the music and YouTube videos I played with headphones with the Quad DAC enabled.

  • I had to much expectations for this phone. I was using an Honor p8 lite which is a very cheap mid range phone and after I got the V30 y felt like the Honor is much better. The Honor will last me 2 days the V30 only 5-7 hours and the major disapointment wad the front facing camera. I can not belive that the Honor has a much better camera than the V30. The main Back camera is better on the V30 but the Front facing camera is just rubish.

  • mostly wifi that day. Usually I average 5_6 hours

  • does anyone know if this model is hardware v1.1? one of the later manufactured v30+ with less screen problems? or is it some old v30+ from late 2017/early 2018?

  • 9 hour SOT? u must kidding now... did u ever done wifi or 4g inernet...

  • how is the battery backup with net+wifi? 3300mah litte bit smaller I think

  • I got my LG V30+ yesterday for 24999 INR. It was the thing version with Android 8.0 I got to admit it's a beautiful phone still in 2019. Photos come out great, the display is great, audio from the single speaker is good, not yet tried the Quad DAC headphone jack. Battery life is great too I would definitely recommend it over midrangers in the similar price segment from Oppo, Vivo, Nokia and other Chinese midrangers.

  • Hi people,i am owner of LG V30 for couple months. Its awesome phone, but recently on the screen I got two green dots. One is almost invisible, cause its very small. Other is little bit bigger. They are visible only on white background. First I tought that those are dead pixels, but now it seems like tht is something else. I tried all those dead fixer apps but nothing helped. Anyone have any suggestion wht tht couls be? Thanks

  • The battery has been insane on this thing!! Managed 9 hours SOT before recharging today. LG haven't been able to recapture this with any other device. Maybe the LG V50 with its 4000mah battery

  • It's a light phone compared to other phones that are the same size. Sometimes lightness is equated to cheaper build quality. But the V30 doesn't feel cheap at all.

  • Whats the ETA for Android Pie for V30?

  • "it's light in the hand but still premium". What do you mean? other premium phones weigh 500gms or more?

  • My V30+ is arriving tomorrow purchased for 25000 INR (360 USD). I was about to buy either the G7 for 28000 INR (405 USD) or the Galaxy S8 for 30000 INR (434 USD). First I decided to go for the G7 over S8 because of the ultrawide camera and the Quad DAC but the gsmarena review sad the G7 camera was below flagship level and also a review on Anandtech said the G7s camera was a regression from the V30. Also almost all reviews including gsmarena said the V30 had one of the best cameras comparable to the S8. Let's see how great the phone is. Any idea about Pie update though ?

  • I bought my LG V30 two weeks ago, H930, brand new, cloud silver, 285.00 GBP. As a bonus I got a pair of B&O ear-buds (nothing was mentioned about them on the e-store). Screen-wise, yes, when you tilt the phone, the colour changes, from reddish to greenish, maybe to pinkish, right at right angle the screen is completely white, well, it’s better to adjust the white balance first. But the moment you discover this “issue”, you forget about it. I know it exists but I just don’t notice it (opposite to the screen of Xperia XZ1, which screen I hate, hence I hate the phone. My XZ1 is resting on the bottom of one drawer and I don’t intend to use this phone any more). Otherwise, LG V30 is an exceptionally good phone! Whenever I use it, whenever I hold it in my hand, I cannot find anything that could annoy or irritate me. It is almost perfect! Sleek, good for one hand operation, fast and responsive, vibrant colours, clear and powerful sound both through the speaker and ear-buds – music and phone calls. Audio recording is amazing! The microphone is obviously very sensitive. The camera and the camera application are very, very good! Usually I install Camera MX application on my phones but LG V30’s own software is much, much better, plus various modes and settings you can find there. I have totally forgotten about Camera MX. I usually take still shots, but the video camera of LG V30 is so good and full of possibilities, that I started to prefer video recording to still shots. Excellent battery life, IP68 certified, everything you need, you’ve got it already on board! I forgot – fast battery charging! (I don’t use wireless charging). I strongly recommend this phone! If you buy it, you will definitely love it, like I do. You yourself can check the specifications of the 2019 flagships and you’ll find out that a few of them can beat 2017 LG V30, but at what price? And don’t forget about the descent battery life and IP68 and B&O certifications…

  • Brother sorry if i sounded rude.. i was disappointed and say those words but it is true that LG still manufacturing this phone with same old school textured/grainy (very less/more visible) P-Oled display and wanna say to buyer's just don't purchase this phone because of flipkart selling with revised display panel but for the beautiful design and premium features for the best price. It's still my favorite device.

  • I am humbled.... thank you bro :-)

  • My thoughts are in-line with yours. More-over LG sticking with P-OLED display tech and making it available on both their new G & V series lineup shows their commitment on OLED panels.

  • Cool down brother... I know you are disappointed with yours LG V30 display. Believe me when I say I found no issues with my V30 display. Maybe I was one of those lucky ones who received a near perfect display. I even rate V30's display far better than my OnePlus 6T's. If you read my previous posts you will clearly see I had mentioned that I assume the new batches of V30 arriving from Korea may have resolved the display issue. I never said I was certain about this.

  • Actually you got me wrong. My point was to just clarify that LG hasn't been updated their oled display for V30+ this is same as previous batches however they are manufacting in korea right now. The graininess on display is remain too. I just wanted to clarify that's all and given my frank opinion.

  • No-brainer imo. Definitely the LG V30. Depends on the age/condition of the phone though.

  • My dear friends .. Please I want you to give me your opinion, one of them offered to change his phone lg v30 + for my phone mi 8 lite .. Do I do this or not?

  • And to your reply regarding LG rep, I guess he shared very cool points of the technology being used in the device which I'm also not even aware about, though I've worked on this OS for long. Appreciate the person who is putting the time and sharing that valuable information. And truly this is great device it's just LG's fault in QAing the production batches. I too faced the famous boot-loop issue in G4 and G5.

  • You can replace the screen in LG centre for free. If they don't break it and they will, cause it comes with free screen replacement for first 6 months. 😁 Seriously, do check as their service centres are good as per my experienc with them.

  • No bro that's not you. Actually I have quoted wrong discussion but for the same person who was written on many places that the new batch of V30+ comes with new panel without any issue and I just wanted to say that this isn't true. Some lucky buyers like you and him got better display and since it has released few people got good panel without any issues. It is normal.

  • I assume you meant to reply to my post and not the one you quoted discussing earphones :P I can only speak from my own experience. I'm sure not everyone has been as lucky as me. I imported an LG V30+ from a Hong Kong retailer, but the manual is in Indian. Manufacture date January 2019. Like I said, the display is gorgeous. I've had an iPhone XS Max and while the LG V30+ has slightly more color shift off-axis, there isn't much between the two imo. No graininess that I can see. I never said that the display was perfect btw, but it's exceeded my expectations. I was expecting something shoddy like the Pixel 2 XL, since they apparently used the same pOLED.

  • You are spreading misleading information to the visiters here. May be you got a perfect display (not grainy) on your unit which is directly imported by korea that doesn't mean LG has improved their P-OLED panel for their recent V30/plus devices. Many users on flipkart with recent purchase reported same grainy issues on their review you can also see there and also hardware rev 1.1 is not directly related to updated display panel. I also got grainy display on my device which i had purchased this month by reading your review here and damn a big disappointment with the same grainy display. Don't behave like a LG representative here and there.

  • For critical listening I always prefer full sized cans over earphones. But that's my choice so others may vary. With LG V30, headphones of 50 ohms impedance or higher gets more drive from the in-built headphone amplifier hence more volume. With V30, I generally prefer to use my Brainwavz HM5 for critical listening. These cans are of 64 ohms impedance and the sound quality is phenomenal when paired with V30. These neutral sounding over-the-ear closed-back headphones provides precise instrumental and vocal details throughout the entire sound spectrum with awesome stereo separation. Bass heads beware as HM5 are made for studio monitoring hence you get just the amount of bass as the music director intended. No muddy, over-powering, ear-drums exploding bass here. :-) For causal listening I go for Cowon EK2 in-ear earphones. EK2 is one of the few earphones where I experienced the openness which are generally associated with open-backs. Well detailed and composed EK2 to me beats headphones twice or thrice its price.

  • Android Pie will come by June end. Officially announced by LG again.

  • Get High impedance Head phones like Sound magic E 50 or E80, you will be pleased.

  • Thanks ;)

  • Welcome to the V30 club!!!

  • Just to update, my V30+ came today. So far, so good! There is some blue shift but that is too be expected. I don't think it's as bad as any other OLED display. Doesn't appear to be any graininess either. I've had it on white background and can't see any. Early days but over all I'm very pleased with the device! Love the build quality, it's light in the hand but still premium. And of course that quad dac

  • Android Pie for V40, V30, and V30S will roll out in Q2 2019 (although South Korea will come before global models)

  • Does anyone knows when will LG v30 get firmware update?

  • When updates to Android pie

  • Thank you. Yes, those last gen LG panels are a bit of a lottery. Congratulations on being one of the lucky ones! I've ordered myself a LG V30+. I hope the screen issues are minimal. If not, I'm sure I can live with it. I only need the phone for a few months. I need a new phone but none of the current flagships appeal to me.

  • U'll get used to it brader.....its very very great device

  • There is no security update for turkish rom. Why LG? Nice phone but poor software.

  • Best phone ever in aller aspect

  • Good news, however we are yet to receive this OTA in India.

  • January security update just landed on V30's, at least unlocked EU ones, along with minor changes (more AOD customization for example)

  • I bought it last month and i switched from iPhone to android!! TOTALLY I LIKED IT! and the cameras are amazing especially while travelling BUT I found a few bothering things: 1- 3mm audio jack went noisy while charging 2- no internal voice recording which is a bad screen recording 3- many tasks are painful since it is android including posting story on Instagram

  • I was worried about this as well because my last experience with LG's POLED was on the Flex2 and that had pretty strong graininess. Still, I bit the bullet and bought a new V30+ (HW rev 1.1) and am glad to report the display is great. Plays my HDR10 videos and I cannot see any grain or uneven colors anywhere. Your mileage may vary as LG's problem is panel quality consistency but when it is done right, it is really good. Battery life is better than the 3300mah implies and performance is great, the only weakness is no android pie yet but it works great so far on 8.0, no crashes bugs or other things.

  • I'm looking at buying this phone but worried it uses similar panel to Pixel 2 XL with graininess and blue shift?

  • Rightly said.

  • Yeah the display is quite amazing. Idk why people are saying it's bad. It's a heck of a lot better than 90% of the displays on the market. Only Samsung really makes better ones, and only the s8 or better have better displays. I don't like the iPhone Samsung displays as much because they're a lower resolution.

  • It's March and still no update, someone said here that LGE will release a update on March. If they take the last week of march month to release an update then it's a shame, by then it will surely move into 7th month without any firmware update. When I purchased this phone I knew then that LG v30 plus will get security updates on every 2nd month, but then suddenly LG stopped releasing any software updates for no good reason. I think India was the one of the strongest market for LG V30 plus model. Even Flipkart is now selling this phone in India after importing it's unsold International units. LG should come up with android 9 update as soon as possible, or it will lose it's whatever remaining credibility.

  • V30 uses LG's in-house 6 inch 18:9 notch-less P-OLED panel of Quad HD resolution. The display is HDR 10 ready & simply gorgeous to look while being 0.3 mm wider than LG G7 for better gaming & video content experience. Benefits of OLED over LCD are obviously lower power consumption & less display heat. Personally I experienced no graininess or color shift in the display. All in all, it's not the best display, but it is high-res, bright (upto 616 nits), vibrant, has nice blacks which I enjoy much more than OnePlus 6T.

  • Yeah I was using a case and screen protector for a while but then when i finally took the case off to clean the dirt that got stuck inside, the screen protector broke because it got stuck on the case as I was taking it off. Then when I was holding the phone I noticed how much insanely more comfortable it was to hold. I haven't put on the case after that.

  • You are most welcome. :) Checked the hardware version, it is 1.1. I believe the latest batch of V30+ arriving at the end of its life-cycle directly imported from Korea may be using the second generation P-OLED panel currently used in LG V40+. One of my friends recently bought the V40+ and after comparing both the displays i don't see much of a difference. But these are my assumptions and I may be wrong.

  • Try to look for Settings>System>About phone

  • Thank You, Captain 👋

  • I Know what you mean. Just, mine are not the true V30 screen. some batch production first time worst in this V30

  • While using tempered glass we never see original quality of our smartphones for years and keep complaining about screen issues. If you want to see the real quality of your LG v30 plus display then atleast use it without protective for few minutes and watch the difference.

  • why tho lol

  • Amazon India was selling the Indian assembled V30+ from Dec, 2017. I say was as it is currently out of stock and it was the stock edition without B&O logo. However from Jan, 2019 on-wards Flipkart started selling the more expensive B&O edition V30+ directly imported from Korea. Flipkart version comes bundled with B&O headphones. Both versions will get honored with 1 year warranty as LG India is the the assembler(Amazon) & importer(Flipkart). I hope it clears your doubt.

  • Don't use any screen protector with this phone.

  • That Really Different than mine. mine is assembled, not as Korean Model because Government Regulation. btw, where did you get it ? Local Store? Walmart? Flipcart? Amazon?

  • Is that version number imprinted on the box? If so then I have look for the box as I don't know where it is now. :) By the way is your V30+ manufactured in Korea? Because my one comes directly imported from there and not locally assembled.

  • May I know Version that you had ? Mine Ver 1.1 (it show at the corner information box and at small)

  • owh, it hurts to hear it

  • I have tested with the most widely used Jio 4G VoLTE only and it works fine. However I never knew V30+ in India does not support VoLTE bands from other service provides. Hope LG solves this issue with future Android Pie update.

  • I use exactly the same V30+ model (H930DS) like yours. However my phone belongs to a much newer batch with manufacturing month set to Dec, 2018. Yours belong to a 10 month old Feb, 2018 batch. I believe this is the reason why I do not face any glaring display related issues like yours. LG has tremendously improved their P-OLED panel yield rates and as such fixed all those known V30+ display issues during launch. I have observed my V30+ display have no graininess or color shift when viewed. All in all, it's not the best display, but it is high-res, bright (upto 616 nits), vibrant, has nice blacks and I enjoy it much more than my OnePlus 6T.

  • forget about dual voltee. it does not even support voltee from airtel, vodafone and idea. you can use only jio voltee in lg phones in india

  • I bought The V30+ H930DS Indonesian version for $400. Manufacture Date 02.2018 V1.1 There is an issue about grainy or dirty or muddy or blotchy display, whatever it called, it look like a little harsh paper especially in white and green colour. And the most problem is, THE DISPLAY COULD NOT BRING DETAILS OF IMAGE. It like see a display with dirty glass but can't clean it. So the 537 ppi Density like false to do the job. I replace it twice till another no unit left. The blue shift still present anyway but this isn't disturb me much. I love with this phone feature anb without NOTCH, just the Screen problem like that and not 4000mAh battery(thank you Powerbank) is there no trick or tips to fix this blotch ? I hope ih could be fix in an update OTA please LG

  • LG launched the 128 GB variant of V40 for 50000 INR also with exchange offer you can get another 5000rs off. I can right now get it for 43000 after exchange offer. But I will definitely wait till I can buy it for less than 40000 INR.

  • No doubt V40 is a better device than V30 as it is a newer model. By the current industry standards a phone depreciates by 40% in value on a year. For brands like LG, unfortunately it is nearly 50%. In India LG introduced the V30+ model @ INR 45K. Now a year on it is available @ INR 23.25K during festival period. A wise man always wait for the right time. :)

  • Nice clarification dude. I am hoping to buy the V40 in a few months when it's prices come down. Hope all the same good things you said about the V30+ are carried over to the V40 too.

  • I have v30 on tmobile. Firmware is 8.0.0.

  • Hi, what firmware update are you exactly on about that caused problems? Also do you have the v30 or v30+?

  • what about software updates. the last software update for lg v30+ was on august after that no update

  • You forgot the security fixes but yes battery drain is always worse post updates.

  • Dang! I accidentally uodated to new firmware. I feel like the battery is draining fast! This is why i dont do updates. Yeah u get few new features. Siighhhh

  • Nope.

  • Hi there, did LG V30+( Indian version) support dual VoLTE. ........?

  • I bought the LG V30+ ThinQ (128 GB variant) during Jan, 2019 Indian Republic Day Sale from Flipkart. For those who don't know Flipkart is now owned by Walmart. It was available for just INR 23,249 (~$325) after heavy discounts and a steal at this price. This is the top end B&O edition with bundled B&O headphones, manufactured in Korea which means product quality is even better than Chinese and assembled Indian variant. 1) BUILD QUALITY: In terms of build quality & overall design V30 is a true flagship and it shows in pure, elegant looks, meeting military drop & shock resistance standards (MIL-STD-810G) and even IP68 dust & water resistance. Both front & back of the metal chassis is protected by a pair of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. My phone looks stunning in silver color variant with metal-clad sides and slim bezels. 2) DISPLAY: V30's 6 inch 18:9 notch-less Quad HD, P-OLED panel uses a similar technology that Samsung uses to manufacture their AM-OLED panels; LG's is just a generation behind. It seems LG had fixed all display related issues as my V30 has no color shift when viewed even at very steep angles. Benefits of OLED over LCD are obviously lower power consumption and less display heat. All in all, it's not the best display, but it is high-res, bright (upto 616 nits), vibrant, has nice blacks and I enjoy it much more than my OnePlus 6T. 3) LG UX: Needless to say, V30's user interface (LG UX 6) is well thought, designed & optimized overlay on top of Android Oreo and indeed deliver a butter smooth & lag-free user experience. However just like any other custom skin it may be not to everybody's taste. The amount of customized features hidden under tons of sub menus is just insane on LG's UI. LG is very slow in rolling out software updates but we are confirmed Android Pie is due by Q2, 2019. 4) SNAPDRAGON 835: V30 ships with last year's Qualcomm flagship, but remember it still is the third best SoC out there after SD845 & Huawei's Kirin 980. Flagship SoCs are powerful enough to breeze through any app for next 5 years, so SD835 is plenty powerful. Both SD835 & latest SD845 uses same 10 nm manufacturing process which denotes both are very power efficient and provide great battery life. For gaming I played PUBG and Asphalt 9 at highest graphic settings and even after two hours of continuous game-play V30 showed no signs of stutter or frame drops. Thanks to OLED display being used display heat is negligible compared to LCDs and the copper heat pipe integrated to metal chassis does indeed absorb and disperses heat away from SD835 to further minimize any risk of overheating thus greatly improving sustained gaming experience. Mix in 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of ultra-fast UFS 2.1 flash storage and V30 becomes a multitasking king with blazing fast read are write speeds. Even though the RAM is just 4 GB by today's standards, the LG UX has excellent memory management and is blazing fast. One point to note that V30 does not support dual 4GVoLTE, hence 2 Jio sims won't work. 5) CAMERA: V30+ always boasted excellent camera hardware, having the merit to challenge Samsung S8+ on the open. The 16 MP bright f/1.6 main rear camera boasts 10-bit HDR sensor, a glass lens to let more light in and every kind of stabilization you can think of. The pictures turns out great with good amount of detailing, excellent contrast and having well balanced exposure. The rear wide angle camera while not as good as the main one provides much wider field of view and is a welcome addition. The front selfie camera is not so good but turns out adequate for my needs as I don't use them much. 6) AUDIO: V30 retains every music lover's dream in keeping a 3.5 mm headphone jack & HiFi audio courtesy audiophile grade 32-bit ESS Sabre ES9218P (DAC + Audio Amplifier) chip. Hands down this is the best DAC a phone can have. Sound signature through audio jack is typical ESS fashion, excellent instrument separation, airy & precise highs, mids lacking little warmth but with excellent timbre while lows are tight & controlled. Plug in high impedance headphones and immediately you feel the difference in volume with the amplifier kicking in. The stock music player is very easy to use while supporting high quality audio files upto 32-bit@384kHz PCM and DSD256 formats. The phone supports Bluetooth 5.0, Qualcomm's aptx HD & Sony's LDAC, so I get great Bluetooth range with headphones & great audio quality with support of streaming high-res 24-bit audio, rather than the mundane 16-bit found on almost all phones. 7) BATTERY: On paper the 3,300 mAh battery isn't small by today's standards, but it's not record-breaking either. That said, battery life has been great. So much so, in fact, that with my heavy use in a day I haven't actually managed to bring the handset to the point where it shows up at 25% left. The wall charger is rated 16.2 watts (9V, 1.8A) and supports Qualcomm QC 3.0 & Qnovo's algorithms which aids in fast & safe charging. Results are astounding with 0 to 50% charge in 32 mins, 0 to 75% in 47 mins, 0 to 90% in 68 mins & 0 to 100% in 102 mins flat. I did this measurement while keeping the phone switched off and charger connected.

  • Apart from V30+ getting higher internal storage capacity of 128 gigs, there is no difference between the V30 & V30+.

  • Guys, please is there any noticeable difference between the lg v30 and v30+ aside from the storage department.

  • Thanks for technical details, never knew about that :)

  • Go get it brother....

  • 100% sure , m buying lg v30+....

  • Unfortunately, this is the current trend with phone business. As of now LG is the only company on the global scale who are sticking with HiFi audio technology & 3.5 mm audio jack on their flagship handsets. V30+ has exemplary audio quality through the 3.5 mm audio jack, thanks for implementing the best digital-to-analog converters (DAC) & headphone amplifiers in business. This phone is a serious music listening tool when you consider the DAC is an audiophile grade ESS Sabre ES9218P. This is an integrated package of DAC and audio amplifier, and the amplifier side is plenty powerful able to drive even big 600 ohms cans!!! The ES9218P is a 32-bit Quad DAC with 2.0Vrms output, SNR: 130 dB, THD: -114 dB. Supports up to 32-bit @ 384kHz PCM and DSD256 file formats. Very happy with the phone, it an all rounder flagship with audiophile grade sound quality through the headphone jack. When connected to bluetooth headphones V30+ supports Qualcomm's aptx HD, so able to stream upto 24-bit @ 48 kHz audio, rather than the mundane 16-bit found on almost all phones. Sound quality is drastically improved, and you can hear the difference when you use a high quality Bluetooth headphone supporting aptx HD & LDAC.

  • Under heavy usage & gaming LG V30+ will easily last you for a day, thanks to the power efficient P-OLED display & Snap 835 SoC. And this is a pretty amazing achievement from LG considering display resolution is Quad HD. The phone supports QC 3.0, so charging is plenty fast. For extended gaming V30+ features a heat pipe to keep Snap 835 cool, so no stutters and frame drops while gaming. These occurs with thermal throttling of SoC.

  • Brother, how is the battery backup? I m havvy gamer!!! Wanna buy new lg v30 for camera+battery. Plz ans me ur opinion

  • lg should really move on from using LCD displays. this is a perfect example of how good lg could be with LED displays. LCD displays destroys everything from battery life to display quality

  • It is for sure that you are not getting any quad-dac audiophile handset hereafter. Vivo has shied away in it's premium audiocentric X series. Lenovo is not going to bring any VibeX3 successor. Meizu could not harp after its Pro M series 5,6 etc. Manufacturers are busy in adding camera's many a times just per gimmicks. On the other hand dragonfly & Fiio just rotating some akg and ess chips and not all their lineups are VFM purchase. With LG focusing on G & Q series no genuine 32bit dac is expected in them ahead.

  • Bought LG V30+ ThinQ (128 GB) variant on Flipkart during Indian Republic Day Sale (2019). It was available for just INR 23,249 ($ 325) after heavy discounts. This is the top end B&O edition with supplied B&O earphones!!! Manufactured in Korea and not China, means product quality is even better than China variant. After a day of use, I found it is a true flagship device. Sound quality through headphone jack is heavenly. Extremely satisfied with the purchase.

  • next software update for lg v30+ is on march for Indian variants

  • June???OMG! But some articles have been been mentioned android 9 will start to rolling out for V30 in Q1 of 2019.

  • Pie 4 V30,coming on june

  • strong phone but software update slow

  • I haven't got a update since last August! Why i it is taking sucha long time to get android 9 update. People buy high end phones not only just for its features.!Why LG says this is a flagship even if they cannot give updates!! Such a shame!

  • its good battery life...

  • yes... it is very disappointing about android pie update from LG to V30+ thinq. It is high end phone. LG needs to get update at earliest.

  • How the battery backup for gaming?

  • Is any battery life issu?

  • I think LG is sleeping or forget to prepare firmware updates for LG V30 plus for last 5 months. I am saying truthfully and after serious thought that I will never buy anything from LG electronics in the future. Because all they do is dump their unsold LG v30 phones in India and never care about after sale operations. Apart from dull display colour issues it is a very good smartphone or better than Samsung galaxy phones. After last update it's battery life has taken a big hit and since then its 2/3 of earlier screen times.

  • its been 5 months since i received my last security update for my lg v30+ indian version.

  • That called monetary support

  • 2019, finally i bought one, love it so far got solid build, front camera not really that good, but still usable, main camera and superwide angle good for me you can use Gcam to improve the image quality and add more features...

  • From what I read, Quad DAC is enabled for all variants.

  • I would go with V30 plus as it has: 1) P-OLED screen (better to my eyes) as IPS LCD used to give me a headache if I use it for longer time. 2) More wider and less longer comparing to G7 so watching videos and other stuff looks better(personal choice). Some people like different screen ratio. 3) Battery capacity is little better. Rest upto your requirement.

  • Do you like the notch or not? V30 if you don’t like the notch and want superior video recording. However both phones are great phones you cannot go wrong with either one.

  • Right. I also saw that and casually put up a query asking about the reason. But these guys didn't reply.

  • Yes V30 or V30+ are still worthed and cheaper in 2019. Good value for money.

  • G7 thinq or. Lg v30 plus

  • Why is GSM Arena discriminatory towards LG Phones? I see that V30 has 1144 fans but it is not listed on the Top Phone by Fan list. Why such a bias?

  • Excellent smartphone. Best audio quality and camera perfomance.Previously used lg v20. Only one things lg are bad in os update. I never found any upade in my lg v20 let see lg v20.

  • Is the quad dac on v30 enabled or disabled for european (East Europe) market? Because I've read that the quad dac on g6 are enabled by default only for korean market.

  • I was a Samsung fan boy for many years. Lately I switched from s8 plus to LG v30 plus. It was like magic. The sound output from quad hifi dac is jaw dropping. Battery life is awesome compared to my Samsung s8 plus. Extremely satisfied. Only draw back is the LG GUI looks half baked compared to samaung.

  • If you plan to buy this now, there's nothing to be scared of, really. In fact, you'll be amazed of its price to performance ratio. But if you're the type of person whose priority is to take selfies almost everyday and is particular with the quality of the front cam than the rear, then you may skip this. Front cam is subpar compared to other brands' previous and current flaghship smartphones. I didn't own a G6 so I don't know what issues you're worried about. I am currently using a V30+. So far, there are only two (2) issues I have able to experience: First, the blue shift, which can be obviously seen if you tilt the screen. This is tolerable if you ask me. Screen color can be calibrated or tweaked in an instant to your liking in the settings. And lastly, the grainy effect with a noisy or dirty texture right in the screen and can be easily seen if you look closely. I assume this is just a software issue. I hope this will subside in the next update. Keep in mind that the resell value of the LG smartphones are so low that for example, you can buy a used V30+ or a G7 now for roughly $340 and $357 respectively.

  • Is this phone still worth it at 2018? I'm thinking to buy it but scared to face issues like the G6

  • love this phone. best phone i've ever owned, still using end of 2018 and runs fast! only thing i am disappointed by is power/lock button on the finger print scanner! i prefer side button like all the other phones. and not happy about sloooow updates. cmon LG!!! and i miss samsung pay. otherwise, i love this phone!

  • How do you disable the 3 press fingerprint button calling emergency services?

  • How is the call quality and connectivity?

  • No. Neither does the V20. I have both. Nevertheless, the V30 has the Always-on display which is great and can be turned off in the settings.

  • After 4 months and no security uodate, what's going on in LG. I think don't have any workforce to do software work, all LG India do is sell the smartphones in India and release new android version once or twice in it's lifetime. I have very bad experience with LG phones, this is my first and last phone from LG.

  • Does This lg v30 plus support led notfication?

  • This month or early next year for the Pie update

  • any news about the new android update release date ?

  • Aside from the blue shift which some V30 owners were complaining about, others complain about grain or noise texture on their screens. It might be a hardware problem as I see no grainy texture when I took a screenshot from my V30. I hope that this would be fixed through the next update

  • What are the display issues?

  • Right said. It is customizable and can be changed. By default the screen have high blue tone.

  • To the people complaining about the blue shift or what ever they call try to on the comfort view in the notification. Make it low the blue filter im sure you will be satisfied with the display. After setting the phone screen same with the iphone screen

  • Just received my V30+ unit. The display issue, which is the blue shift, is obvious and present. I'm a bit annoyed by it and disappointed, expecting not to acquire such known issue. The fact that my unit's manufacturing date is January 2018, it's safe to say that I might have received a unit from an old batch, where such issue is present. Anyway, I'm confident that I can tolerate the blue shift issue asap. I just hope that screen burn-in will not occur for years to come.

  • No regrets. Perfect for my life style. Full features. One of the best phone for 2017-2018 for me.only thing i can complained is the front camera. But the gcam can fix that. And stil the front camera still decent for me.

  • it is better lg v30

  • Bought this phone about a month ago in Germany for 460€. I switched from Galaxy s7 Edge which i used for 2 years. Phone faster by miles. Camera is better on V30. Battery oh my god i didnt expect such lasting on V30!!! For example s7 edge coming home from work have ~30-35%. LG have ~55-60% left! And my work on phone stays exactly the same i was doing on s7 edge. I didnt expect that. Because V30 have smaller battery. Pros vs s7 edge (in my opinion): Faster; Smoother; Better camera (in things i need from it); Longer battery life; Faster fingerprint reader; Less bloatware; Better loudspeaker quality (not loudness, but quality); Cons vs s7 Edge: Screenshot making and editing not so easy as it was on s7 edge; Lg original theme app have not so much good quality themes (but i can live with that its not a big deal); Screen it self shows blue-ish color while looking not directly to screen but from different angle but overall i like this screen more than s7 edge's; Thats it. I have no regrets by moving to this device so far. And i am very satisfied what LG offered for 460 euros.

  • Agreeeeeeeee. No sweat.

  • LG V30 anytime. best in the market for now, better than any samsung flagship.

  • Using this device for 6 months, I can assure if You are looking for device with smooth performance, good camera, great battery and for music with value of money LG V 30 fits for you, Only negative is front camera.

  • I recommend the lgv30. I previously owned the mate 10 pro and the v30 was an exceptional choice. Owned it for 4 months now.

  • Beautiful and Capable LG Flagship (except for its ordinary front Camera). Now the price has gone down considerably and it will be lower in 2019. This flagship is so tempting.

  • thank you

  • For long battery Mate 10 pro is the phone to go .

  • Please hell me decide: Lg v30 or Huawei mate 10 pro. I want a phone who will last me for the long run ..2 years at least..i'm not a trend changer..i want to use it for work mail and photo..but with a good battery life cause i am always travelling...

  • Can you share link of ebay?

  • I just purchase a V30 US998 New on eBay for 310 (though most new float around 350/400). Keep in mind, people shopping for phones in the US or Canada require specific band support for mobile radio. I personally would consider the Pocophone, if it supported all T-Mobile bands.

  • I reccomend looking into the Xiaomi Pocophone F1. Its around 350 USD, 6 gigs ram, good build quality, excelent camera, and a good snapdragon processor

  • I'm planning on getting the V30 which is currently selling at roughly 480USD (for Raspberry Rose, black is 15USD cheaper). Is it worth it?

  • Noise -93.2dB is even lower than 16bit spec, why is are we not even over 96dB these days?

  • If you're a true music lover. I can guarantee you this is the best smartphone in the market when considering about the 3.5mm jack quality..

  • V40 is an extra camera or five in total. Even same design just add another cam in line! We needed change and on screen operating! LG no updates have labelled you a kind?

  • To the guy asking about headphone quality, most people probably wont notice a difference in quality. The main difference is how much power the headphone jack can deliver, it will drive higher impedance headphone much better than most phones.

  • This is a great phone. I would recommend it to anyone not looking for the latest phone. The V30 is only one generation back and is a great phone. I have a 128GB card int he slot and the battery lasts all day no problem.

  • How is the audio quality of the songs via headphones compared to sony flagships, is it marginal between these two brands or the difference is noticeable. I use sony flagship and their hi-fi dac sounds amazing, but i want to know if the quad dac on lg is better or mostly the same and if it is worth buying just for the audio department.

  • Is this worthy upgrade from g6? The g6 is wery good. Got it on a sale. Now I can get v30 on a discount (lg should always be cheaper than other similar specced phones course of bad software support)

  • You can buy a MiMix3 for 470$ if it is available in your location. Its your opinion

  • i'm a V30 user, one thing tho, it is a worth upgrade in my opinion in terms of design, display, camera, and the DAC (i think it is crispier than any other lg phone with DAC, and slightly below the Fiio Q1 mark2 DAC, which is impressive)

  • Hi. I'm currently using a V20 for a year now and planning to buy a V30. Here it costs $467. Would it be worth the upgrade?

  • i dont think that having only 4gb on phone in 2018 would even give a near flagship experience

  • Just bot this phone today. It looks and feel sleek in hand.

  • I always see benchmarks are flawed tests. What matters to me is real-time/real-life benchmarks i.e. on how you actually use the phone. I'm not too worried about the glass breaking as I always put a high-quality screen protector and a case to protect my devices all the time. I'm very much aware no OEM is perfect and can't give you a perfect experience. I actually think Samsung might have an edge over someone else. The reason for Android updates arriving late is for Samsung's own developers to properly test the OS and not rushingly release something that isn't fully optimised or half-baked or very little UI changes or new features.

  • 1.V30 2.S8 3.huawei. 4.0p6 The right order indeed.lol

  • Thanks bro!

  • Oneplus6>S8>V30>>>>>huawei

  • Every phone has some drawbacks, s8 exynos variant has poor graphics performance and snapdragon variant has poor performance as Samsung codes os properly for their own exynos, but apps in play store are optimized for snapdragon chips or adreno graphics, So, don't mind much, if you want and if its possible then return the phone and buy a preferred one. Else enjoy and focus on good part of phone, also s8 screen replacement costs 50% of phone price, and glass phone can get damages for small drops, also for s8 cant buy proper screen guard

  • Thank you. But I think the problem lies there...with updates. LG is not known for quick updates. In fact they may be a bit more slower than Samsung. I would gladly choose Samsung Experience UX than an LG UX updated slowly.

  • First of all congrats you bought a good phone at a great price. V30 is a good phone no doubt, I think your concern about the front cam might be over with an update. On the other hand the S8 has a really good front cam which I'm really pleased with even in low light conditions. As far as the upates are concerned yes they make some or the other changes to your phone, for example I updated my S8 to the October security patch and got the "super slow motion" & "AR emoji" which is really handy. Don't worry I think the future updates might fix the minor issues on the V30. Hope you enjoy your new phone :-)

  • I'm concerned about the slow updates and the 5MP selfie camera. The videos I've seen so far doesn't match up with my current Moto X4 or my old Xperia XZ. And the slow motion video looks 480p quality which is really bad.

  • I agree with you completely. But I am not sure and I want to find out if there has been any enhancements to the camera since release i.e. overall quality, sharpness, dynamic range, sharpness, clarity & detail especially the selfie camera as I think the 5MP is just not enough for those all-important selfies. What do you think?

  • Hi, I am from India and here s8 was available for INR Rs27.5k which is around US $375, which was an awesome deal. And s8 is compact power house, No need to worry as you bought lg v30, both are good phones, in my view better than Chinese phones, and I think better than iPhone 7. You just bought v30, and enjoy, forget about rest, I saw your post on s8 page too

  • You should consider V30 only and only for HiFi Headphones interaction. For photo and daily use Samsung would do better. However people say LG wins in battery/design perspective. It's also cheaper.

  • which is a better phone stylo 4 or v30

  • I did something that I feel I may either regret or felt it was a good deal. I bought a brand-new LG V30 for only £450. I got frustrated waiting and looking for a good S8/S8+ deals online (mainly on ebay) but it just fizzled out. Any thoughts about the V30 vs the S8+? Do you guys think I made the right choice?

  • Thanks

  • When I was considering and looking for options, I had a budget for Galaxy S9+. I still went with V30, reason being this is the best thing you can get for lower price range. I used G4, G5 and was thinking to go out and buy some other device apart from LG but frankly speaking, I compared and came back to V30 :) LG doesn't market their product, I don't know what's their policy but their phones are too good with minimum bloatware. Use it and you will experience it. I'm not a LG fanboy it's just my opinion. Moreover, I would recommend you to do some research and go with what you feel is good.

  • Which is better - LG V30, Samsung S8, OnePlus6 or Huawei Mate 10 pro? Any advice would be much appreciated

  • Hello V30 users, I have a question if anybody experienced this. I tried capturing starry nights via manual settings with f1.6 camera(not wide angle one) and settings were 25 seconds shutter speed, 1200 iso, manual focus, voice navigated shutter click(Cheese, so as to avoid shakiness). I found results were not satisfactory. Stars were always in the shape of what an image of a sperm looks like :D I tried turning off stabilisation, decreasing the shutter speed to 20, 15, 30 seconds, changing manual/automatic focus, iso etc but results were never right. But, results came out good with wide angle lens. I never faced this problem with my LG G5 too. And I always used Cheese shutter mode to avoid touching the phone. Can someone please test this and let me know if the issue is common to all? Else I'll get my phone replaced. Thanks.

  • Oreo is already available in the Philippines for V30+ with August security updates.

  • Hi LG fans, do you have idea when the Android Oreo will be available for LG v30+ for Philippines and Egypt aswell,Im still stuck at Android 7..please advice

  • WHY I SOLD MY LG V30? - Warning to buyers I used this phone for almost 4-5 months. Coming straight to point - OLED Display of this phone is hit and miss, if you are lucky you get good one, if not you get one with uneven brightness sometimes on upper side, sometimes lowerside of display. Service Center and company official communication states that they DONT consider this as a defect and it is a characteristic of OLED display. Apart from the above reason, LG V30 is THE BEST phone in the market. Unfortunate that display was a deal breaker.

  • pretty sure the LGH933 has bluetooth 5.0

  • You can install Microsoft Launcher, it has swipe to right function which has all the latest news, from there you can select your favourite news and other functions. It is free in Google play store.

  • Im looking for a news and stories app like google now for LG V30 +. i previously had huawei mate 10 and loved the google now app, i mean i didnt need to open the app for reading news. just a left scroll on my home screen and there i had it, very convenient indeed. but it doesnt work like that for LG. they just have the google search bar. can u recommend a way of getting google now on homescree(no widget), or else is there any other worthwhile news app?

  • Best phone I ever had. This is my first LG phone. I had Samsung, iPhone, and BlackBerry before and this is by far the best. Long battery life, great pictures, great pho e overall. I recorded songs in a concert and I just could not believe the quality ... It's just beautiful especially when I turned the QDAC on.

  • The best phone EVER!!!

  • Don't buy at this point of time. Phone is very lousy, it takes a little while to react after you touch on a function and after a month its battery is 2/3 of original usage. In my opinion LG engineers have raised the clock speed of processor in simple functions like Internet browser and video playback and total screen on times have comes down quite heavily. If they can undermine one year old flagship phone like this, then who will buy their phones again. Go for samsung s8 plus.

  • Pakistan! - Buy Q mobile

  • I miss the IR Blaster, I can't believe LG decided to remove it. Other than that, The V30+ has been the best phone I ever owned.

  • hye there!can any one tell how is your experience with this phone, who has used this phone for more than 6 months, how is the total experience, battery, and smoothness, thanks in advance

  • How is the difference between v30 quad DAC against v20 quad DAC?

  • 2xHonor play vs 1 V30+ lol

  • Why bro

  • honor play

  • Lg v30+ or Honor Play?Wich can ı buy for gaming?

  • does this v30 have fm recording my korean Lgg6 had fm recording

  • U r hopeless man. V30 battery last almost 2 days if moderate use. Reasons for Battery problems: gps is always on, too much gaming, wifi n bluetooth always on, new firmware updates. Never update fireware.

  • The BEST phone in the world. This phone is amazing, LG is amazing. It has some incredible features: quaddac (on my logitech z906 it sound incredible), wide angle camera (i use it much more than the normal camera), amazing design (very thin but durable), amazing battery life (it had the best battery life of all flagship smartphones of last year, check on youtube), amazing screen (the screen is very very vibrant with amazing colors; my unit doesn't have any of the problems that the first batch of phones haved), and the biggest to me, it can record sounds up to 142db without distorsion which is ideal for me as I go to a lot of EDM and trance festivals (no other phone can do this). I really like this phone , too bad people are brainwashed buying only samsung and apple. I just hope LG will continue this way and don't get out of the mobile industry, because that would be a disaster. LG is at the moment the only company that constantly innovates (for example they made the dual camera a trend). Cheers !

  • This phone started out great but is really a terrible dumpster fire. Not 6 months in to ownership and I have to press the rear button 3 to 6 times for the screen to come on. If it does recognize my fingerprint (which be added three of the same finger), about a quarter of the time it tells me to put my pin in anyway because it's been 72 hours since the phone was used, even though it was just opened minutes ago. It has terrible cell service and has since day one, even compared to people on the same network. The second always in screen is neat, but the battery doesn't last a day if you actually use that feature. Sure it takes good low light photos I guess but that's about it, and really it's not worth mentioning because plenty of other phones drake better photos. Will definitely be my last LG product.

  • thanks alot for your reply bro.

  • thanks alot bro for your reviews.

  • Yes there is. Also, LG has now set up with a new dept. for quicker updates. However, it might still take some time to provide the update. As per the previous trend, early 2019 would be my wild guess. The following link gives details on phones getting an update soon:

  • The latest updated seems to be doing good for me.. using the back camera is also easy in light conditions where the glass back can give a reference for postion.. Also try changing the HDR and beauty settings after the new update. For photography except selfie.. It has been an amazing thing with a gr8 manual mode which no one does better than LG. I hv been able to capture unmatched photos.. For HDR, samsung flagships do better..

  • no idea abt carriers in ur country but telinor or mobilink shud be fine.. the phone is amazing.. If falling inside budget, go for G7 thinQ.. its a totall flagship killer..

  • LG V30 is one of the best phone in 2017-2018 Outstanding Audio HI FI Quad DAC Outstanding Video: Cinema Quality Excellent Rear Camere Hardware Acceptable Battery Endurance

  • I am willing to buy this phone but I am not sure about its battery life. can anybody tell me which carrier is suitable in Pakistan because it is impossible to find international version here.

  • Yep.Completely agree with you. You cannot even compare with other flagship devices when considering the selfie camera. Immediate software update required!!!

  • bought it yesterday for 360€ new from retailer.

  • How is this phone ranked 3rd by the number of hits by fans? 🤔

  • LG Should give to some software updates in order to fix front camera quality issues. it takes awful selfie pictures.. at this price it shuld able to take a good clarity selfie pictures but in real even 10 k mobiles takes better selfie images than LG V30.

  • Word of advice. Do not update firmware! These companies will try to mess with the original os. So u can buy their new phones. Apple did this!!!! Stop complaining about updates. Smh

  • Is there any confirmation of Android 9.0 for V30??

  • I used both htc u11+ and lg v30+ Both a great phone i like very much. But i slightly prefer u11+ since more rensponsive ui and touchscreen, better camera and i like very much when take htc phone from the pocket and immediately open camera apps by squeeze the phone. I used red solar last time and i think it beauty than my lg black color.other than that both performance and battery life is good.

  • Made mine transparent

  • Hi everyone I jus got my lg v30+ dis week when connecting to my wifi it's not holding on it for to long can somebody tell me why is this happening???

  • Yes

  • Сertainly LG v30+ (if you got 2 sim) and V30 (if you have 1 sim, and if there is not enough memory then use SD card slot)

  • Thank you ;)

  • Yes, when answered and when disconnected. You can disabe/enable one or the other

  • Does LG V30 support "Vibrate when outgoing call is answerd" option?

  • htc u11 or lg v30?

  • Oh yes the nicest xolor for the V30, definitely buy it. It looks amazing on this phone, I am a man too and I would choose that color too. I first liked the Morrocon Blue the most but after the Raspberry Rose was announced I really would go for that color now.

  • Same No problem at all

  • Same here, not facing any of the issues you mentioned. It happens due to particular applications which starts misbehaving on upgrade(Reason being they are not optimised for that and due to change in underlying software architecture mostly happens when application starts looking for particular Android service or querying some as they are prohibited by new rules). I would suggest reinstall the ones that you suspect. Hope that helps.

  • Neither of the issues were found on my v30+ display is clear and crisp far better than pixel 2xl, and batter life is very good even after update. Try resetting your phone or goto service center to fix the issue.

  • No complain here or not experiencing about any issue you stated. Confident on my LG v30+, oreo updated and i am fun of it, I am very satisfied customer.

  • Dear Friends, After latest update containing August security patch, phones battery life has gone very bad. When I watch videos it lost 1% of battery every minute, earlier it lasts over 6 minutes for every 1%. There is a drop of 1/3 time in total usage. I am using this phone for last 1 month and I can say that it is not very fast and smooth phone in terms of software. Even when you delete a SMS it take a few seconds to go to the previous screen and if you use other brand phones they did these things instantly. It shows all my blocked spam messages in the main messaging page, it cannot hide spam messages which is a android function, I don't know how it is possible. I was hoping with the latest update they would add more saturated colours option in settings but it is still a dull screen. Lot of people don't know that Google Pixels 2 phones had the same problem, those phones had also dull screens but after lot of complaints Google add the saturated colour screen option, and Google is also using the same LG poled displays in there Pixels 2 phones. Now if Google can fix this issue then why LG can't. LG should do more 'cuz there smartphone market share is shrinking and if they can't keep satisfied their current highend smartphone users then who will buy their phones again in future. I purchased LG V30+ after a very long consideration and now I am not satisfied with its dull colour display issues and bad battery life otherwise it would have been a steal. I hope LG guys have been working on these issues for the next update.

  • i have non of your problems after update. only thing i faced is sometimes hotspot shield wont be turn off and i should click airplane mode to disable it

  • Disable the sensor in the charging port

  • LG V30 India update available via OTA or LG Bridge with Security Patch Level 1 August 2018.

  • Who cares what color your phone is? You do as you want, it's your phone after all.

  • New OTA update is rolling out in India, might be security patch.

  • my opinion, buy a neutral color (gray/black) and then fit a case with your desired color. I have the lavender color which looked good at first but i don't quite like it anymore.

  • After updating the device with 8.0 facing such issues. 1. Device start lagging. 2. Camera stuck during capturing the image. 3. heating up during charging 4. UI suddenly stop working and screen goes back. ( wait for UI or close the app) 5. Camera brightness increased. 5. Fast charging isn't working as fast. ( 0 to 30% in 33mins)

  • Now OTG is not working... first time it worked, now its not.. using Type-C to Micro USB Adapter---- SanDisk Ultra Dual 64GB USB 3.0 OTG Pen Drive LG V30+ Android 8.0

  • I'm planning to get me a new LG V30 but should I choose Raspberry Rose? It looks stunning but I'm a man. Will that be weird? Planning to use a transparent case with it.

  • It works...

  • LOL ip68 rating is for fresh water, sea water can degrade seals and phone will lose protection.

  • Telephoto wide angle portrait what else do u need my friend :)

  • Still working here on multiple rough oceans and bad weathers, and no hiccups. Very useful after all if those.

  • Moisture and sea is my normal environment. This phone after 10 trips on rough sea and being splashed and wet in my pocket is about to be dead "charging blocked due to moisture" even if it is dry for few days - only owen helps. Bad water sealing arround usb port and headphone jack. Avoid for sailing. No shots in the sea. HTC butterfly 3 survived 2 years / seasons constantly wet ! and still kicks ass.

  • Can some one check is OTG is working after the oreo update on V30+? Thanks

  • V40 leaked, 2 front 3 back nothing new!

  • thanks

  • Register your email ID on LG india. Call LG India customer care, register your device with LG, share your email ID, device info - imei, model, invoice etc. They'll confirm you.

  • Via few points you can verify that. I bought it from shop so sharing my experience. 1) Must have plastic cover, over the black box. You can open only after tearing that. 2) There will be a white circular sticker which is placed from where we open the box. 3) There should be IMEI sticker on the back side of the phone and the phone itself comes in a cover(plastic wrap I guess). 4) Accessories comes covered too, in plastic pouches. Also, I want to know on what basis you think that it is refurbished phone?

  • how can we check that the phone is received is brand new or refurbished, i order from amazon but i think it may be refurbished. please reply asap

  • Hey man, those battery time figures surprised me .. I share almost the same exchange story on Amazon with J7 NXT .. I got the phone and updated to Oreo .. after a full charge mine will drop the battery to 20-30% with that mentioned on screen time. Screen resolution is set to high and been using black theme with wallpaper .. people have been reporting very good battery life. An example is that after one hour of usage with games or listening to music with a wired headphone of 64 Ohms, battery level comes down somewhere between 80-90% ..

  • Superb phone. Finally an ace from LG. Super satisfied.

  • you do realize that it's going to be a very long wait.....no matter what brand / device you decide upon. LG has stopped producing flagship devices with removable battery for more than a year. Where were you?

  • Got mine last August 16 with model number H930DS, OS is Android 8 (Oreo). Superb performance and superb looks.

  • I was expecting the battery are removable :(, i hope LG have flagship phone that can remove the battery easily

  • So I got a h185 lg g4...I read some opinions about the v30 but I'm sceptical...do you think is worth it?

  • yes, the screen. LG is notorious for their inconsistency with their P-OLED QA. Search the web about the blotching issue, I bought the phone the other day and like many others I experience this issue. I will keep the phone since I bought it for very cheap and for the most part, the issue is not something that you constantly see, but It's there, and It's ugly when you see it.

  • Yeah. There might have been some glitch giving extra 8-9k on exchange instead of the advertised 5k. I got the V30 black version and it was there too. I got 2.4k + 8.7k = 11.1k on exchange for Lenovo Z2 plus. which i had bought for 10.5k 2.5 years ago. :) From next day onwards, the exchange value was being shown as 2.2k + 5k = 7.2k only, so i guess the glitch was taken care of. Anyway, congrats to everyone who benefited from this. My final price after SBI discount was 22.4k. Factoring out the exchange, the effective price turned out to be around 25k, which is a steal for this phone. Already upgraded to oreo and I am loving it. Battery life is fantastic. After topping up to 100% yesterday, total usage time is 12.5 hours, including screen on time of 4.5 hours, and the battery is still at 63%.

  • So I currently use sony z3 and it has hi-fi audio, it has great sound, in reviews the say that xz premium has also great audio quality, among the best, but because I use 50USD headphones and only 320 kbps mp3 quality. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that I must have flac mp3 quality, 100USD and above headphones to recognize the difference, and if i don't than the difference between my z3 or xzp and v30 will be marginal?

  • I'm absolutely loving my moroccon blue. Its darkest blue with great shine.

  • Difference is huge only if you're using high end headphones with 50+ ohm value. For usual 10-100$ headphones you wouldn't notice much difference. But yeah if you're audiophile and invest big bucks on headphones and this phone is for you. Its capable of giving great HDAC sound upto 60 oms.

  • I like the raspberry rose color very much, it looks good on the V30.

  • Does v20 - v30 really have better headphone audio quality vs sony xz premium - xz1, or the difference in the sound quality is unnoticable to human hearing?

  • Which color is best Roseberry or violet or blue please suggest.

  • If you can wait for V40 also consider waiting for Singles Day "Nov 11" or Black Friday "Nov 23".

  • Imo if u can get the deal now you shd get it. I don't know if v40 is near its launch. And v30 may or may not get Android p (altho it shd being flagship it shd get 2 major update but lg is as near as shit as Samsung in terms of updates). So my point is, now its only 1 yr old (since launch), better enjoy now that wait. Its my personal view.

  • Should I buy a new LG V30 now or wait for the V40 to launch so the price drops? I'm looking for a replacement for my Sony Xperia Z5. Any suggestions?

  • Bro i ordered right in the morning yesterday. I guess that color got finished first. Just i got my delivery also. Great service by amazon. B'ful phone. Enjoy. And btw i exchanged my 3.5 yr old Note 3 neo for wopping 9400, was going to exchange it for 1280 again honor play, those shitheads launched the device but didn't have the stocks. Anyways it was my gain, i got way better device for amazing deal. The color moroccon blue is great.

  • How did you get that color. I saw only black and silver colors available.

  • Seems like a great device. Ordered for 23k after exchanging my oneplus one. Hope this lives up to expectations. Only real downside is 5MP front camera. Other minor cons are lack of dedicated portrait mode. If this model had 6gb ram, it would have been cherry on top. But this is really a steal deal right now. Kudos to LG India and Amazon India.

  • Moroccon Blue color, coz i was getting extra 3k exchange price on this specific color, so i took it. Phone color is irrelevant considering its a shatter prone glass back, so robust back cover is a must. So spend some bucks to buy a good protective cover for this beauty also.

  • Ordered it.. my old phone purchase price 13000 exchange value 12827 one year old..... Amazing 😄😄

  • Which color u purchased.. I purchased black one after exchange @21k.steal deal

  • Its way better bro than honor play...price is a steal. I ordered it today also in 24k after exchange. I rate it even higher than oneplus 6. Coz it has IP68 rating, Wireless Charging, Dual DACs which was the reason i didn't buy 1+6. And today i great amazing deal. Excited!

  • Same here, i am also getting for 22

  • Ok cool bro, thx lot

  • Im getting this phone for 21000 after exchanging my old mobile is it good vs Honor play

  • V30 is so much better

  • Guys, v30 or s8+? Thank in advance

  • Excellent phone with one terrible flaw: the camera. I switched from the G4 to the V30 and the camera on the G4 was so vastly superior to the V30 camera there's no contest. It was a major disappointment.

  • i take this phone becouse sound is very good on headphone is hi-fi and the reviews from here for signal strange... is bull shit,no, has a signal like any other phone samsung 7,8,9 that is,weak.

  • No mention of the MQA support that a few V30s have. This is very important to the audiophile community. It also has APT-X HD support on Bluetooth.

  • You are welcome :)

  • A lot of great information here. Thank you very much for taking the time!

  • I turned my LG V30+ into Pixel 2 xl and got the best of two worlds. Installed all google apps (dialer, calendar, messaging, etc...). Disabled all LG bloatware and applications using package disabler pro. Installed Edge Gestures to replace the navigation buttons. You cannot imagine the impact on speed, battery, performance and smoothness of the phone. It’s the best ever by now. Nothing can beat its camera wide angle and video recording. Light weight, battery life, no stupid notch, just amazing.

  • I haven't seen any and I love the phone. And after upgrading I don't see any Amazon bloatware too. Is it some region specific, don't know. Mine is Asian variant. I'm not a LG fan boy rather I use phone for my profession. What I like is almost no bloatware in their phones. And the softwares which are present, they are helpful for day to day activities. And when I switch from one LG to another LG model it is breeze to setup. I first purchased LG G4, loved the phone but it gave up on me due to bootloop. Again I went with another one this time LG G5, it went down due to bootloop, got it replaced and still serving(but fear is there always in my mind that it might bootloop again :) ). Now, I got V30 and I'm happy for my decision because of these: 1) OLED Screen: I have sensitive eyes and I use to feel pain while I used G5, but I never experienced with V30. Moreover, screen looks beautiful, in always on display too and since it is OLED only the clock part of LEDs gets activated, thus saving the battery. Moreover, I like the comfort view, wherein the screen can be turned into black and white and minimizes blue light radiation. 2) Battery: It is good and stays strong after heavy use, reason I guess is due to Li-Po. But I miss G5 like design wherein I can swap batteries. 3) Camera: I'm into outdoor activities and the thing I needed always is the wide angle camera and we have some beautiful hardware on this. I use my mirrorless for other shots and for wide angle I get some amazing pics from this. I was considering Huawei P20 Pro but rejected as wide angle was the deal breaker for me. 4) Sound: Again they put some good hardware in it. Sound quality is amazing too. 5) Radiation level: They have least radiation levels in their phone. 6) And finally no more BootLoop issues after G5. 7) We can disable in built softwares I'll update with any demerits or merits as I experience.

  • I am wondering if anyone has seen any deal breaker issues on v30 that are worth mentioning? Any repeat issues from LG's past such as moisture detected in charge port as in G6? Also saw back a bit in the posts about Amazon bloatware after updating to Oreo? I am genuinely curious for honest opinions. Phone seems like a beast, am considering purchasing unlocked US model. Thanks everyone.

  • Don't know the limit, but I'm connecting with my smartwatch and Bluetooth audio speakers simultaneously.

  • It's Android Pistachio 9

  • LG User Interface is pleasant and sophisticated, stop blaming it. I agree that HTC Sense is the best User Interface. Compared to other Brands, LG is better. See yourself Samsung TouchWiz, Xiami MIUI, Huawei EMUI, Oneplus Oxygen, etc.

  • Hello... How many bluetooth devices can be connected at same time? For example smartwatch + headphones... Thanks

  • Shift from LG G6 to this V30+, Best phone ever, with nice big screen, great battery life, Quality camera, better than G6. Recommended to all user.

  • I don't like this phone. Using it on T-mobile network. I have been using it for the past 8 months. Compared to prior HTC models, the user experience with the LG V30 is limited. Unfortunately, the HTC U11+ was not working well on T-mo. So, I changed it for this LG V30. The only good thing about this phone is that it works. And that is not good enough in a world of user experience.

  • Heating? Not mine. But I never play on it.

  • Àndroid 9 which is also know as android p is expected to launch on sept 2018 by google

  • Hi, can anyone please tell me if the Oreo update has enabled project Treble for the v30?

  • M using v30 plus korean variant. Got oreo update since early june and another update 2 week later

  • This year its was V40s turn, but V35 with 345 chip has shown, how badly LG has Failed, and directionless move!

  • many phones just started to update on android 8.0 !! and you're talking about android 9.0 and 10.0

  • android 9.0 Comes 2019 years on mobile phones update on android 9.0 It's coming to an end 2019 years

  • I update my lg v30plus with android oreo yesterday, latest version runs mobile very smooth, excellent battery, add new features, boot on mobile screen shows LG V30 + THINQ

  • Dear Spammer of whichever company you are, LG V30 OREO update is now rolling out. Most users have received the notification. With this, LG has rolled out Oreo to ALL VARIANTS across the globe. Samsung, Huawei and others are yet to do the same. So let's stop this nonsense bickering on V30. You can't really beat 8+ hours of screen on time and performance iwth any other phone with same flagship features (OnePlus is not the same in terms of features). And before you say bootloop, get lost. 'Cause it hasn't happened in last two generations of LG products.

  • Yes near 1800mb. Thanks

  • You can update now V30+ OTA Update rolled out in India.

  • Today ,got new os update notification in india.

  • LG v30plus great mobile. Front camera and speaker bit low. But no problem it's a beast but where is the updates

  • I am using v30plus 128gb version. In India we dint receive any updates. Security patch level March 1st. V30. V30s. V30plus. V35 thinq. Target 2020 oreo update expecting. I think this LG is the first mobile not to give oreo for flagship.

  • Why lg is not fixing blue shift with its software.and not yet software update, google pixel has fixed this blue shift problem with his software updates, but lg not giving software update in time and not reducing its price.

  • It's as LG is deaf & dumb in implementing genuine, shortfalls, it it's production, Price, Updates and Availability, at Cost of Its Reputation and Even Largest in Korea Tycoon! Shame and Dud!

  • You are ryt bro. Lg very late in updates

  • LG fooled me. Now they are making lg v30,v30+,v30s+,v35 thinq, what they are doing fun with my money. Am i fool to buy new lg mobile. I m selling mine . dont use lg .oreo update 2020 i expect.

  • I think only LG, v30plus in 7.1 .all companies upgraded. I waiting from 6months every month they will speak next week next week. Next week means what 2019 for LG it seems. LG shame 7.1

  • Lg cheating customers . all compannies planning to upgrada 9.0 .. I think lg planning to divert there customers to other brands . hats oFf LG. I waited for 6 months till not yet .

  • Where is oreo . v30plus are you sleeping. Low rate mobiles cheap mobiles too reciving. Wake up LG. Tomorrow never comes for lg

  • Where is oreo anonymous. You said1st week of july. Already over. I think lg fooling us . no oreo i think. 45000 money waste of investment

  • Go for v30 64GB OR v30+ 128 gb you will be amazed.battery is a beast.htc is a good phone but it heat so much.

  • LG V30

  • Guys,Which is better HTC U11 or LG V30? Plz tell...

  • Which region are you from?. When did you get Oreo? Is it official release?

  • I switched from s8 (due to its worst battery) to V30+ in Feb 2018. Battery life on this is AMAZING 1.5 days minimum on heavy usage, something i haven't seen from a dozen phones i used .Front camera is OK, not as bad as a lot of people are whining. Don't know about thinq model .

  • I have a V30+ and just updated latest OS the other day but the updated was dated last June... Now when I restart my phone it now says LG V30+ ThinQ... Also my cam now has Ai feature... Awesome

  • Thank you so much . today july1st in this can i expect . waiting for portrait. Ai features

  • Hi, I bought my V30+ off a UK site based in Asia. Love the phone, so much better than my LG G5. 2 down sides, the front facing camera quality and still no updates to Android Oreo. Still on Android 7.1.2.

  • LG V30+ INDIA Update will be rolling by the end of july 1st week.

  • Lg v30plus in 8ndia no oreo update. Last security level march 1st. Lg not giving oreo update. Why very late.

  • I got the update for new android on my v30 + and now i am getting wifi error after every 5 to 6 minutes it automatically turns off and then turns back on it self and it keeps happening repeatedly. Is anyone else facing same issues after the update ?

  • LG V30 is IP68 Certified dust/water proof (up to 1.5m for 30 mins)

  • V30 model Repeatation, into V30, V30 S, V35 S Bla Bla! Either Shutdown mobile portion, or Revitalize its Resources in organized way!

  • I have seen some videos on youtube, where they test the v30 is waterproof or not and finally they concluded that it is water proof and also GSMArena says that it is waterproof. But some of the users commented below said that the v30 is not a water proof or even a water resistant device. Now Finally tell me what is the truth? because I am going to buy lg v30.

  • A Rumor I suppose, But Authticated by GSM arena, V40 with 5 Cameras, 3+2, A Cheap, move like Chinese to add more sensors, but what about quality, is Debatable!

  • At Last mistakenly, LG seeded Oreo 8.0 by guess! Why so late or not ready! Debatable But V40 stills should have been Leaked!

  • Nope i got my phone from uae but i think they use the same regional code ( GCC) so india should technically get it soon

  • I'd say get the V30 because it has better battery, cameras, size, and that cool DAC.

  • Did you get it in India?

  • I already have oreo since yesterday

  • Thank you. I agree with you that v30+ is a good device particularly I love the amazing sound quality it offers through its options and the look too. But surprisingly the Oreo has not yet arrived when P is already in market...that's very poor response

  • Nope........ I sold my V30+ and got Oneplus 6 and honestly I am very happy with my decision. My colleague is having a V30+ and no update yet. Its not that V30+ was a bad device but I am enjoying my OP6 more. Especially software interface.

  • Hi, I bought LG V30+ two months back in Delhi. Has anyone in India received Oreo update? Pl inform.

  • Everyone using v30 asian model......OREO ARRIVED!!

  • Go to the settings and you can disable the app.

  • Most unfortunate to label LG as International, esp in cells! No display, service Centre’s any where in third world countries! V30 has had its disreputation too much! Now if LG want salvation it shud start rumors or screen shots of V40! To save it’s falling reputation.

  • Go to the beach and waterpark to have fun. Leave your phone in the car. Water and dust resistant does not mean water and dust proof. Treat your your tech with care and you won’t have problems even with a non dust and water resistant phone, like we’ve been doing for decades now.

  • Sand is not dust. . . Just sayin

  • actually every service in Philippines is horrible....

  • Don't buy this phone, this is not a durable phone. They advertise it as water and dust resistant and it is not. Go buy a Sony, Samsung or Apple phone.

  • This is such a horrible phone, they advertise it as a waterproof and dust proof but it is not. I had my unit since December 2017 and I've bought it into repair twice. Scenarios: 1. Bought the phone to the beach, Sand came into the headphone jack and it could not be removed, it impacted my ability to receive calls because the phone thinks it has a headphone jack plugged into it. Had it replaced paid for the replacement part and labor. Because LG does not have international warranty only local. Bought the phone in Hong Kong and they did not explain it to me. To think that LG is an international company and they don't have international warranty is such a shame. 2. Bought the phone to a water park and now the microphone used to make calls is not working. Whenever I make a call the other person cannot hear me. Will bring it again to the repair center and have the phone mic replaced. Ughh this is such a pain. Thinking of going back into the Sony ecosystem again. My Xperia Z is still working the glass just shattered and is slow due to it's age. Sony's after sales is really horrible here in our country (Philippines).

  • It's Hybrid slot, if use second sim no SD card. Esp in Fonts Bold option, with Gothic Bold font option, will revamp to at par with Sammy! Nothing extra ordained Mister LG!

  • Does the LG v30 have triple slot? I mean a dual sim slot plus and extra slot for memory card.

  • i agree with you. actually i switched to S9 and back, P20 Pro and back. where can you find a 6" phone that is symmetric and weight 158g only? wireless charging, legendary batter, etc... i came to a conclusion that software update is not the most important after all. it's working perfectly on 7.1.2 so i won't sacrifice all for Oreo on another phone.

  • After updating to Android 8.0 I got bloatware App Amazon Assistant and I can't remove it... Sorry LG but this is my last phone from you... (my phone is United States unlocked version) I paid full price for the phone when its came out. And now I'm getting update with bloatware...

  • Should i get this or Samsung S8? Thanks

  • yes only now,

  • Take a glance over these. Xiaomi black shark and galaxy s9 active. U ll have all in one ^^

  • Take a glance over these. Xiaomi black shark and galaxy s9 active. U ll have all in one ^^

  • I'm stuck between getting the LG V30, OR V35 THINQ. I have a business and android smartphone is like my mini assistant. Cameras, Speed and Battery are the main important factors to me. Unfortunately it seems as though you can't get all in one phone. Lol. Everyone raves about the LG V30 battery, but HATE the front facing camera. I've read where V35 THINQ is like an improved V30 with better front facing camera and 6gb RAM. Even though V35 has the same battery capacity as V30, does that mean the 6gb ram could pull more on the battery than a 4gb RAM causing it to not hold a days charge? I have samsung s7 currently. And I freakin hate babysitting the battery. It does not last 5 hours. I have 3 battery packs and the s7 drains them.

  • what kind of headphones do you gat with this phone: ordinary LG or premium B&O?

  • Does the phone have Oreo update (OTA)? Thank you.

  • No option in WhatsApp application for dual account activation! Another downside for LG! Many more, but still a dead model, unaltered customers still their to waist 600$ of hard earned cash!

  • There are no options for dual account activation in LG V30

  • Does know any owner of LG H930DS (dual-sim) how to activate dual viber/whatsapp instances without using third party apps?

  • Really lg v30 awesome smartphone in world

  • It's astonished to learn, LG has become Stonehenge regarding complaints, and doing nothing. Why then buy a product, when parents do not own their siblings!

  • Well it's better if u opt for Samsung s8 plus instead of xz premium. Xz premium got very low volume speaker sound though it is equipped with sterio speakers. Camera also not as good as Samsung s8 plus. If u have used s8 plus in recent past then u can give a try to xz premium otherwise its way better to opt for s8 plus.

  • Yes you are rite. You can buy if you don't worry about regular security update and OS support. Other than that it's great device.

  • I'm definitely close to buy a V30+ and looking for a good offer in Europe. Based on the many reviews on the web, this phone has a great battery life (5 to 7 S.O.T.) and a nice wide-angle camera that is useful in some situations. Other pros are the good rear camera with excellent video making advanced features, the IP68 certification and the good resistance to signs/scratches. Cons are the poor front camera and the dimensions, since I don't usually like such big phones and I would have loved a smaller V30+ as my perfect phone. Do you agree with me?

  • Why do u care so much about firmware updates? New firmware fix bugs n problems n also creates new bugs n problem. If the current firmware has no issues, why update?

  • After waiting for ages to get Oreo update, I sold my V30+ and got OP6 today. Am I missing something from LG?????? NOOOOOOOOOO....... (May be IP68 certification.....) Do I still recommend LG V30 to anyone????? Yes..... If you don't mind about software updates and plan to keep it for a couple of years the definitely go for it you will not be disappointed (Except front camera) PS: Get used one if you can with warranty lest. It will save you lot of money as LG do not have good resale value. My friend took my device for 35k in India, 5 months old (I got it for 37K new after all exchange and cashbacks) so Its fine. If you look in OLX, Quikr or Ebay you can bargain upto 24k. For that amount its a great device. All the best guys Bye to LG Comments section as of now. Hope to Meet some of you over Oneplus section. Cheers.....

  • Should I get this one or the xz premium?

  • Should I get this or the xz premium instead?

  • I think u should go for Samsung S8 Plus, Lg will keep on disappointing their users by not responding to their queries. I have lg V30 plus and still there is no sign of Oreo update in Middle East. Samsung is bit faster in providing updates and over all performance is way better compared to lg v30. It’s my personnel opinion but the decision will be ur’s.

  • LG have become Redundant, nothing passes through their Mentality! No proto type of V 40 to be seen! This extra S/Plus addition is a Farce! With prices nearing a thousand dollars, it’s should be new shape hardware and colors!

  • Come’on LG...give us Oreo Update in Indonesia

  • v30 is better choice

  • Please which one is the best between lg v30 and Samsung s8+?? Urgent answer pls

  • Oreo update in India is still, a rumor than reality! Still with clownish acts of LG , 4 models with only name change, without actual nothing changed from V30 1.5 year old! Typical exams leg of Self Distruction, by LG!

  • Oreo update available in India?

  • Good smartphone. Front camera poor. Software update very poor. I will not take any more LG smartphone if they are going to be updating at this speed.

  • Any news on Oreo update for unlocked V30+ in India??????

  • Been using this for past 3 months. Great phone, vibrant display, snappy performance, good cameras(Rear), Fantastic audio via headphones, solid build, dependable battery, stupid UI, no updates( Not even monthly patches). Utterly bad front camera.

  • I dun find lg ui any ugly. If u dun like the outlook u can go lg smart world. Plenty of themes are available.

  • bring back infrared

  • Could you tell me if the gps unit is any better than the g3 & g5. Ive fkund both if them ti be unreliable

  • What are you talk8ng about?are you dumb or something?v30 and v30+ were launched on tge same day and if you are complaining about storage thtn look at the note 8 or iphone x.they both have 64gb and are priced way more than v30.also v30s thinq is just a v30 with some more capabilities and there are no v35

  • Agreed. I don't understand their marketing strategy.

  • Literally V30 model Defamed by LG Alone, first 6 months no wear available, then 850$ but 64 storage, later V30+ 128 storage but 4gb ram, then V30S 128+6gb Ram. Them V30S Think, Lastly V35S all to utilise 835 chipset. Jumbled Up and no sales picked up! Than confusion in clients! Forget and dammed V30, just watch V40 by September, what nonsense it is marketed!

  • Even i m looking for it..any update!

  • Well Oreo update is not rolled out globally by LG. I am in India ( having V30+) no news of update yet. And even no one knows when we are going to get it.

  • Update with pc cuite program

  • Well I do have lg v30 plus. My model is lg-h930ds and otp oreo update is still not yet available in Saudi Arabia even it’s not available via lg bridge.

  • oreo update is already available for v30. link You see that you are a troll and you do not have a phone, the v30 is much better than at s8

  • Hi! I think its better for u to go for Samsung s8 plus. I have lg v30 and not very happy because of very slow pace of lg as far updates are concern. Over all its very good package but ui is not that great ,I had to for nova launcher with pixel like setup. On the other hand s8+ is way better in everything compared to lg v30 except camera section in my opinion. So I think u should go for Samsung s8 plus. LG never respond to any comtomer needs like upgrades etc. Now we are already in mid of 2018 and still there is no Oreo update for LG V30+.

  • Everybody is praising it entirely, where we're you when years old model was released a year back, it's hard to resell Black V30+ even at half price! It's all failure tactics, used by LG mobile division! Butter to come clean out as of One plus One Chinese brand, all top of line specs at half the retail price!

  • All Nitwits, V40 is launching in September, only envy is it's totally overhaul UI and Bold option in Fonts! Rest will be History. Otherwise just stick to whatever you have and wait for iPhone 6.5" Oled!

  • Its actually the complete smartphone without any doubt mate but their support for security and software updates are killing its reputation. I had changed from S8 to HTC U11 to LG V30+ last year in 6 months but Still holding tight to LG V30+ sinc Dec 2017 and hoping to get the Oreo update by this month. If not I am moving out from LG forever.

  • I change phones every other week but i'm stuck with the LG V30+ i bought it 3 times. couldn't switch to another phone. it's the complete package. screen, battery, weight, sound, camera, software, shape, wireless charging. there's nothing at all i hate about this phone no matter how i try to. switched to S9 for a week, then back, iphone x for 3 weeks, then back. every other phone like P20 pro, Oneplus 6, etc has a missing feature like wireless charging, or being heavy, or not a good camera. LG V30+ is a legendary phone that is unfortunately underrated.

  • Guys which one do you recommend: s8+ or v30? Thanks

  • V30's been impressive to me, it feels just as good as I bought back in November. The audio quality is too amazing, and also very importantly to me, it's light and thin, not to mention its durability. Overall this is the second favourite phone for me cuz I would say Pixel is best for me for its software, and also the camera post-processing.

  • Samsung is responsible. The Note 4 duos had removable battery, dual sim with dedicated sd card slot, IR blaster. Samsung realized phone owners will hold on longer to their phones if they can replace worn out batteries or expand memory without sacrificing the 2nd sd card slot. They realized it's not good for long term sales and so henceforth, started removing useful, future proof features for short term glamorous but utterly useless features - wireless charging and waterproofing in exchange for removable batteries, and curved shampoo bottle shaped 18:9 screens to make your 16:9 screen phone look old like 4:3 CRT tv's of the past. Being the Android leader, all the rest had to follow. That includes LG.

  • Affordability and Features. This is the apparent 'Reasoning to their Madness'. Headphone jack, Removable batteries, IR Transmitter, Physical keyboards, FM Radio, Lanyard ties, Device 'reliability ' ....all seemingly disappearing while smartphone prices increase. OS updates, Constant Bug fix updates, Carrier compatibility issues, seasonal changes in cable and charging req'mts, lack of or poor product support and last but not least.... 'Do I need a new smartphone or should I buy 4 new tires or replace my old refrigerator ?' issue .....are amoung the frustrating dramas consumers today have to deal with. If smartphones sales are on a decline, maybe looking back might shed some light. Maybe it's better to have a new phone every year but that's only feasible if prices fall under $200.00 per device. Maybe if flagship-tier smartphones were more reliable and lasted 5 years, they would have better resale value so those people could upgrade every year. I'm just a stupid consumer with a chicken-like brain. Just throw the feed out and see if I come running but who's responsible for that kind of marketing strategy ?

  • LG... your V10 and V20 phones are Awesome Outstanding Smartphones that 'check all the boxes' ....for me, that is. IP68, Wireless charging, Glass Backs and loud stereo speakers have never been a selling point for me. Can anyone recommended a V10/V20-like phone for me in 2018 ? ? Please tell me what phones I can buy that have those features. Battery capacity is important, sure.... but for me .....changing an old dying battery myself is more important than capacity. It can mean not having to fork out more money to repair shops and a phone that could potentially last another year or two longer by having a multiple battery swap out system.

  • i would go with V30,had p10 plus, mate 9,mate 10, good phones, but a black and white camera is nowhere near as useful as a wide angle one.and the battery, although smaller on the lg, will get you about the same sot, cause i don't why but huawei devices seem to drain more battery when talking, i observed this on all their phones i had.

  • If I was wealthy or money was no problem, I would buy all LG's flagship phones in a heartbeat but would still hope LG would be re-inspired by the V10 and V20. Reviews by techies do matter some but based on real life long freakin term experience.... LG has the Qrown. No one needs to tell me that. And no one (except LG) can change my opinion.

  • what should i buy ?? lg v30 or huawei mate 10 pro ?? thanks in advance.. it will be a real help if u guys give ur opinion

  • If u need decent camera and almost same quality but punctual in updates then surely go for htc u11,I’m sure u won’t regret, It’s bit old design like 2016 models but Htc U11 UI is very close to stock android. Lg is very weak in providing updates and even they don’t care for monthly security patches but this isn’t the case with Htc U11 ,Htc will provide security patches at least faster then lg. Design and look wise lg V30 is way better but Htc U11 isn’t too bad either. Performance wise both are ok. Camera both are almost same in auto mode but in manual mode no one can beat lg, now u can shoot videos also in manual mode as well. Updates wise u11 is way better.

  • Another Blunder of V35 in USA, processors 835 have not been exhausted. Nothing new! Need Renders of V40, what's new!

  • go for v30 bcoz u11 does not have 3.5mm headphone jack

  • Thanks

  • All concerns of each individual is not priority of any company! It's the Rat Race which determines the Trend in small Gimmicks. All phones have same Rom & Ram but it's refinement is major issues by companies! Sammy software is much refined than Vivo!

  • No Oreo update till date. Custom roms are available in plenty at xda site. Multitasking is decent enough. No majore bugs that I have noticed till date and battery is pretty good. On a normal day will get around 6 hours of SOT. If you don't mind voiding the warranty and root the device then go for it. If not then look into other options.

  • Both device have excellent call quality. I have never faced any issue. Loud speakers are loud and clear in both devices for taking calls.

  • Have you got oreo update? I am from india. Thinking to buy this. Can you share your views on the v30+. My concerns are: 1. I install very huge number of apps. So i need fast multitasking and battery life. 2. Do this phone have bug less usable custom roms? at least can we root?

  • If you have used both LG v30 and HTC u11. Can you please tell me which one has better call clarity and loudness. Thanks

  • All V30+ owners are being ripped off, 256 and 6gb are available at same rates, why why LG same year old model just finishing your 835 stock under Think Q banner! Update to Oreo is fairytale. Just good cool pad 2 , 200$ perfect for everything, without going in perfection! I will change every month Cheap Chinese Mobiles, after sixth month start selling them first cum first served basis. No need for Status 1000 $ mobiles

  • there is a commitment to push the update by may. I am trying to get an update on the status of oreo. As a device it is near perfect. I dont see any issues. The OP6 will for sure be a newer device with a better processor and more RAM. But i will need to wait to see the screen quality, Camera quality and the AUdio performance, in comparison to V30+. OP is for sure very good with updates though.

  • Android 7.1.2 1st january security patch

  • I disagree bro.... Having used both devices, I assure you that U11 have much better camera for stills and videos in auto mode. And selfi camera is miles ahead of V30's one. Where LG V30 takes the cake is in the secondary wide angle lens which is awesome. And for using Video in manual mode. If you disagree then please compare them and see for yourself.

  • Go for U11 Plus if you can

  • Lg v30+, HTC U11 is a good phone but it has no good design and also for comparison both phones back camera LG V30 is a better phone.

  • Which one to buy LG v30+ or HTC u 11? And why

  • what is your current version and security patch ?

  • got oreo on 30th april, from Singapore took 5 hours to download now become v30+ think Q cheers

  • Still waiting for oreo......using lg v30+ bought in dubai

  • Still hoping for Oreo Update, I'm from Morocco using TIM/ITALY Phone....

  • Which country?

  • Just check for my V30+(India). No update yet. Will check in morning again.

  • Just checked but no updates available. May be in next couple of days.... Thank you for the update man...

  • Nuisance, fumbling in V30S name! Forget and wait for V40 without fumbling launch! LG has to Mature if last in this industry, esp updates!

  • Oreo update in India available for V30 plus with April security patch and AI features of ThinQ. size around 2.5gb

  • In Dubai V30+ still fumbling, with wgat extra that traditional! Haphazard upgrade all over world, nitwits orientation! Shame on LG system of upgrade!

  • I just noticed something from these so-called bezeless phones (v30, s9, s8, iPhone x etc). The side bezels are wider than those of a Samsung S3. I hate side bezels. They should be like the Sony XA2, but they are thicker than 5 years old phones

  • Nope, not yet...

  • One of the best after years !!!!

  • LG V30+ here, received my update yesterday (in Serbia).

  • Anyone from India getting Oreo Update????

  • Got Oreo update today, without any problems.(V30+ H930DS here)

  • I have a Note FE. It is a good phone, but I recommend you to go for the LG V30. This phone is newer, it has a dual camera set up, more compact.

  • My V30 is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I'm upgrading from a Nexus 6P, so we'll see how that goes.

  • I got oreo update today.thank you LG.

  • I have v30 and i would go with that. FE is basically a 2016 note 7. V30 is newer and more powerful and will be supported longer.

  • Forget everything, wait for V40 hope LG has changed its UI and Themes, Fonts Gothic Bold, last every month update, and Shifting to Android One, Stock! But don't be Fooled by year old chipset. It's already rearnt lesson.

  • Everyone can you give me some idea? Should I purchase note FE or lg v30? Thanks for advanced!!!

  • Interesting. I bought the LG V30 in London, live and work in Peru where I am now using the phone, and Oreo (Android 8.0) came through a few days ago. Updated with no problems.

  • V30+DS variant has not received Oreo, nor expected, maybe by may, could take a month. Rest is history! Every new variant when launched was worth 850$ then 6gb ram came now, 256 Rom with 6gb Ram. All this gimmickery to finish their 835SD processors! Silly Timid move from LG!

  • Ok cheers bro. I'm on it now. I want the AI goodness

  • Sold my s8 bought the lgv30... Its a better phone... Buy some sound magic e50c or e80c and be prepared to be blown away by the audio

  • I'm in the UK.... Carphone warehouse UK model lgv30.... Maybe Google lg Bridge and try that method of updating

  • Are you UK. I’m checking everyday for the update but nothing

  • Oreo available for LG H930

  • Definitely the V30+

  • Just got the Oreo 8.0 update on my H933 last night - not 8.1 still, and no ARCore compatability (which is strange for a Snapdragon 835?)

  • Lg v30+ or samsung s8 Tomorrow i want to buy one of it

  • i received android 8.0 , maybe we will get 8.1 , i wont hold my breath , the updates can be a little disappointing , but the way i see it is my lgv30 running android 8.0 can still do more then vanilla android running 8.1 . tap to wake is a killer feature , tap to close is great , split screen works well , battery life is immense , we have all the features from the new operating system already coming from samsung , they are also pretty poor on updates , everyone is apart from nokia and google really . what new features are you going to miss from 8.1 or the next version of android? who knows maybe because lg have so many variants of the lgv30 running the same chipsets etc they will keep them more updated it would be nice to have the latest but to be honest id rather have the quad dac ;-)

  • i had to LG G6 but lost it last week so ordered the V30 had it for 2 days but it is a great phone also got the oreo update yesterday. only slight issue is the blue tint but i am getting used to it.

  • Absolutely true. Battery life is great and everything else except Software update part. What is the version you have received 8 or 8.1? I own V30+ model and no news of update yet. Its such a disappointment to have a flagship device with an old android version and see people having other mid range device with the latest OS. Huawei even had started testing Android P on the Mate 10 Pro. I hope we get the Oreo 8.1 at least. No hopes of android 'P' for V30+ . Keeping my finger crossed and hoping to get the global roll out by next week.....

  • Battery life is much better than my Samsung s8.... 7-8 hours screen on time has been a regular occurrence without any battery saving techniques and always on display switches on

  • Just got the oreo update in the UK on the original 64gb model that was first released The update included all the ai features from the newer models... Something Samsung never would have done The phone has been a pleasure to use since November, I'm still not missing my s8 at all. 7 hours screen on time is a regular occurrence, the phone is fast, it runs smooth, the screen is gorgeous, the audio is the best I've ever heard in a phone The people hating on the lgv30 don't even own it, the people who do absolutely love it and have dumped other high end phones to item one I paid 600 for mine but you can get the 128gb model from wonda mobile for 483 pounds. That's an absolute bargain for what you get I'm looking forwards to the lgv40, I hope they improve the front facing camera and the main cameras but there really isn't much more to improve on this already awesome phone

  • Why aren’t they picking up signals from public feed back! Now a dud G7 revealed which too will be dead lock! Either they get out of mobile business, or copy one plus model! Their 6 model is already hot! My deal wud be to ignore, maybe then listen!

  • well do you ever thought that maybe not everyone needs what you need?and that maybe for us, the rest, all lg has done with the v30 is good, not necessarily bad?you speak from your point of view, but mine is different.i like the classy design,if i want rugged i buy cat.i don't use waterproofing, and 90% of us don't, but that doesn't mean that we mind if we have it.and i don't know what you mean about the camera, cause the cameras ARE DEFINETLY improved from the V20. For you the simple solution, since i see you love the V10 so much, keep it.But do leave the V30 alone cause just because it isn't your cup of tea it dose not mean it is not a great phone.

  • You are perfectly right. LG ruined everything with the G6 and V30 by following the stupid fashionphone trend. G7 and V40 will be even worse, because they will have notch and no bezels.

  • V30 is the best Smartphone I Have ever used...LG’s mistake no promotion, no any advertising...All around the world in the various airports you will found Samsung both with testers of S9 and all othe flagships...LG V30 only in the box....If someone never tried an LG phone or never travelled in Asia, mostly Korea and Hong Kong, practically has no chance to see it alive ..but only in YouTube and from various sites which leading the market as they like or as their interest order..... V30 is an excellent phone and sometimes I am wondering...why LG made this phone since they don want to promote it to the market! If V30 was made by Samsung will be the Best seller ever....

  • Does anyone know about the battery life? I know it's 3300 mAh but it's not all about the capacity is it? I want realistic day to day usage data. How long does it take to drain from max to zero?

  • That happens when you switch between power-saving modes, restart solves it,

  • Most Unclaimed Phone! No ownership and three versions of same set, with gimmicks! LG has more variety to earn from, than Samsung! It doesn’t care fr inovation, esp selfie cam and updates! I had to buy it’s Spizen Cover for 40$ because no ware available. Just forget next V40 unless it’s entire UI interface overhauled! Even this pathetic condition, it’s still scarcely available. So anything mobile it can be sold from Scrape to Gold!

  • I had used HTC U11 for 7 months and now using V30 since Jan 2018. V30 is a great device which is left in the market to defend itself by LG marketing and Software support team. No software updates at all. If you can live with it then definitely LG V30. But if you want an overall great package the go for HTC U11+ if can get it with a good deal. HTC's software experience is much better and better update supports available compare to LG.

  • The LG V30 is a fantastic phone, especially if you can find a good promotion on it. It's sound quality is unparalleled, and it's build quality is impeccable. The only issues I've found with it is the screen doesn't quite match the standards set by Samsung. It's perfectly good, and plenty bright, but it has issues with shadow detail at low brightness levels. The battery endurance is impressive for this caliber of phone (although not quite as lofty as the Mate 10 Pro) and the waterproofing is flawless. I'd say go for it, unless you find a crazy good deal on the U11.

  • Hello Dear V30 users. I'm interested in the V30,but also in a stalemate in choosing either this or mate 10 pro, htc U11. any issues on the v30 apart from the sad selfie camera?how is the battery endurance? waterproof ok,no issue of water entering lens?thanks in advance :)

  • Anyone here have received their oreo update yet?i heard that the us already got theirs but what about asuan markets?

  • I totally agree with your comment. This is the most underrated phone from LG. I have just bought it last week from amazon. Till now the phone is very fast and responsive. I will keep posted about my experience with the mobile. Can anyone please suggest me about a good budget headset for this phone?

  • Fully agree, the V30 is highly underrated just like the G6. It is a great phone for a good price nowadays. Good value for money.

  • My Galaxy s7 edge have same issue. It just keeps for half an hour and then dissapears itself

  • Now another V35 both cams 16 MP. After flop of V30, V30S, V,30+ LG has decided to rewamp its software updating system. Lastly please change fonts with Gothic Bold, with Themes and Interface! Otherwise it's a never ending story.

  • We Want Smaller Phones!! To use with one hand

  • You have just got a defective device

  • They had to get Rid Off 835 chipsets, before LG G7 Launch! It’s just ditto, but all eyes on V40 in September. Supply Chain, Adverts, and Price shud be reflected in actions.

  • yup, the only problem of this phone is the supply chain, for us that a fan of it might still try to get one but the majority won't bother and the lack of marketing worsen the problem

  • I've had the phone for 5 months now and the problem list is rising. Some of the keys on the keyboard don't respond after a few days and I have to restart the phone to fix it. Freezing screens etc. Press and hold the home button for a restart doesn't work. I regret buying it now.

  • Honestly, I say that sadly this is a really underrated device with tons of negative stuff about it. I honestly think it shouldn't be that underrated cause it has some "cool" stuff around it. The stuff I like the most around this device are : 1:Wide Angle Lens. This feature is pretty useful for me and it does images in a wider aspect which is what I like, because sometimes I want those pictures that are taken from close to be wide, and that's why there's that useful feature, but sadly people just ignore that. 2:DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). This feature is just great for giving you richer volume when listening with headphones/earphones 3:Waterproof and still has one of the loudest headphone jack port in the Android History

  • Crazy, to the Luke warm response by LG fans, No updates, No after sales, No supply chain, No direction of next model Due or postponed, No change in UI icons, Fonts, and Themes Esp Interface is Same Primitive and Old Traditional. 800$ set shu'd be on Stock Android as Nokia has launched in depressed years to Top Ranks!

  • You should note that not everyone loves metal on the back and not everyone wants a rugged phone......i really like water resistance i use my v30 while i bath to listen to music and im doing that right now while writing this

  • LG have failed consumers time-after-time. I still own a working V10 and V20. Both phones have all the features in a phone I need on a daily basis. The ONLY THING LG needed to do was improve these phones while keeping the features of previous models. That they couldn't even do that shows what a hopeless design team they have. I don't need a waterproof phone with glass everything! I need a phone that can do as much as possible whilst being rugged and easily repairable. Removable battery, Dual Sim, Micro SD and great camera with FM radio is at the top of my list of features. I loved the Gold Side-rails on the V10 (made it a classy design) - V20 kept most features but lacked the class of the V10. Come on LG lift your GAME Listen to US!

  • There is no Oreo update & its already more than 7 months of its release. I don't think P will ever make its way to V30

  • You shu'd wait for one plus 6, rather than wait in vain to get Oreo! Maybe Oreo never come till Pancake arrives!

  • Not a LG fan. Just that it is available at 35k with exchange and GST credit and Free LG Tone headphones right now. All I want is atleast android P update

  • No Oreo update yet. My device does not have any Display issues and its brightness is perfectly uniform. But If you want to invest 45k then wait till OP6 or even Mi Mix2s which are latest flagship and are guaranteed to get proper software support than lazy LG.(In case of Mi update will be for their latest miui). But if you want an LG device then V30+ is the best LG mobile available now.

  • Did you get an Oreo Update? And are there any issues with the screen. I am planning to buy one this week. Or shall I wait for Oneplus 6 in India?

  • Moist in uSb cannot charge issue came up without put in water and for thie sometime charges fast sometime slow i am really upset please help

  • Finally receiving the Oreo update for my V30(Unlocked Canada) after what feels like a lifetime. They had better improve their software services before the V40 launches or I am out.

  • I supported lg since LG G3. Frankly I was tempted to buy the V30. I did not as my V20 still serve me well. Now I am glad I didn't buy it. Went to test the Huawei and think LG G7 or V40 needs to take a huge step to beat the competitors.

  • V30 V30+ V30 Think are all part of same phone, with minor hiccups, this shows what LG team have Inovation, Themes, UI, Fonts no Gothic font, resale after sales and supply chain. All Hopeless! Now G7 with Oled and LCD both screens jumbled up. Absent Minded!

  • Sorry I forgot! You need put its brightness to at least 80%

  • Lg v30 has a very good display and please do it in this way: go to setting and choose display and choose custom and then turn red and green level to zero and put blue level in maximum! then you have very nice display and believe me it is better than any amoled displays among top Samsung phones or iphone x!!!

  • I have read a stupid review by Mr Max Parker in trusted review site! and he put a negative review about Lg v30 display and in his blind and unprofessional test he has seen lg v30 display as very poor!!! But I am saying he is only an idiot and he is a fake mobile expert without any knowledge. Lg v30 has a beautiful display when you adjust its colour correctly by choosing this way: go to setting and choose display then choose custom colour option and adjust red and green levels to zero and blue level to it's maximum and put brightness level to 80% then you have very nice display even better than any amoled displays among top Samsung phones!

  • Hi All, I have a good news from LG India Team. They have confirmed that we will receive the oreo update in May. Finger Crossed.

  • I agree. V30 is much much better than S7 edge in all aspect except...... the Display & Rear Camera in Auto Mode. PS: My S7 Edge is lagging every other day like crazy.... and have to restart the device and clear the background apps regularly.

  • Our in Dubai are still on Jan 18! LG is very poor in updating and supply chain! No factory outlet or service centres. Only waiver to delay, its should quit mobile division immediately.

  • Lg v30 is way better than s7 edge.

  • go to the service centre

  • Already received march 2018 update on mt v30 ➕

  • No have not tried it, had installed pixel cam app from xda forum and the auto mode improvement was very little. But will install the app you suggested and compare it.

  • I just bought v30+ amazing phone but i have a question does it support dolby vision? My older g6 supported it but i cant play dolby videos on v30 it says its not supported i contacted lg and they said its only HDR10 compatible on the other hand v30 can play hdr videos on youtube no problem but g6 shows them as common sdr i thought both phones support both HDR10 and dolby vision

  • Hi, have you try to use cstark27_GCam_5.1.018_24_v3.6 on LG V30, I tried on my lg G6 seem come with nice photo, can you try and compare it with 7edge?

  • I have one and it is great. Best audio reproduction and record. Very slim phone. The cameras are good, not the best but they do the job. Overall i'm happy for buying it.

  • I need help: Lg v30 or Oneplus5t?

  • *3300 battery

  • Pros: Beautiful 6", qHD screen with HDR10 support One of, if not, the top cameras in any smart phone OIS (optical image stabilization) for clearer photos and video Probably records the best audio out of any smart phone One of the very few devices that supports band 71, 256 QAM, and 4x4 MIMO Daydream support microSD card slot (LG's official specs lists this as being compatable with cards up to 2TB, not 256GB like GSMArena says) Quick Charge 3.0 IP68 dust and water resistance Top of the line Snapdragon 835 processor Large 2200mAh battery Cons: SLOW updates with no feedback as to the release timeline My first V30 arrived defective with a line straight down the center of the screen, only visible when the screen is on; no method to recieve a new replacement (only refurbished) for a phone that arrives defective besides returning and re-ordering No front firing stereo speakers, only a mono downward firing (unnacceptible in a top-teir device) The bootloader is locked and is unrootable No 2160p60 support (Not many other devices support it though either) The entry model of this top-teir device has only 64GB of storage No IR blaster unlike the V20

  • V30 is a great device. No issue with the device and works great. But if you can wait for couple of more months you can have an option to look into the G6 successor also.

  • Hi everyone.. I planing to buy v30+ i currently use g6... Anyone tell me who have using experience. I want to know v30 best or mate 10pro.?

  • Yes. Got it in the afternoon. Was expecting Oreo update but security patches are much need ones.

  • Just received the march security patch for v30+ in India. Its about 660mb

  • Have you ever used an S7 edge? If not use it and then reply. I have both LG V30+ and an s7edge and I know pro's & con's for both.

  • Amazing phone light in weight, multi and highly productive tasks phone nearly same as galaxy note 8 except no pin. 1- From the off-screen you can interact with the phone like taking a memo, snap a photo, turn on/off Bluetooth, wifi, data. 2- stylish design. 3- crisp screen. 4- great camera.

  • I am facing one issue my phone after charging 90% dislpay sometime turns on and again turns off again turns off again turn on but phone doesnot only display lights up

  • I have both mobile with me now. And using them side by side every day. If you can't digest that then don't play sour grape. If you haven't used s7 edge then you don know about it. PS: if you wana check check the forum of s7 edge under the name crazyboys_tp. And I even had used HTC U11 for 6 months before getting my LG V30+ check there also if you like.

  • samsung troll detected

  • great! IM GONNA BUY V30 on discount XD

  • V30, V30+, V30S all are One and the same thing, except to make public Fools. LG has had enough of Beating, on their own mistakes! Now V40 may come next year, with downgrade to LCD panel! In name of conservation!

  • front camera S7 edge is much better. LG V30's rear camera is good but Rear camera on S7 edge camera is simply superb in auto mode. But LG V30 has a wide angle camera which is really useful and great to use in lots of scenario. Apart from that V30 is great in all other areas except software updates. My S7 edge is updated to Feb security update but LG is still in January and no news about Oreo update for international unlocked version.

  • Lg v30 vs s7 edge in terms of camera especially front camera, which one is better?

  • V30+ now V30S only 4-6GB Ram difference, but price is double! G7 & V40 in doldrums! At times it's Luck which counts, Same Korean Companies by Sammy is Leader and LG in Red!

  • The V30 'Family' ...in my opinion... is just an evolved or advanced version of the 'G-Line'. I've yet to see or rather I'm going to wait for the actual advancement or evolution of the 'V-Line.' LG, you did an awesome job creating the V30 but it's not a 'V' series phone. Just like your upcoming phone with a notch is not an iPhoneX. The V10 and V20 have laid a foundation you should build upon. Good Luck LG ! May technology be your ally ...not a cow you can milk.

  • I agree, both phones offer very much for the price. I would personally go fot the V30 because the design is beautiful and in blue it’s really the looker.

  • V30 is the last nail in LGs coffin of in future don't mumble anymore. No sense of direction nor trend. Hopless preface with outdated icons and themes, serum and fonts are ridiculous. Bye for now, LG keep within your home appliances!

  • I have a lg v20, and yes the spec is not as good. but i kept having people asking me what is this phone that took a wide selfies. but LG took it away in V30.

  • Tjhat is whay they are in in "google enterprise recomendet program" but there is a "catch". Some operators, like PLAY in Poland, are holding the upadates for their branded phones. I guess the reason, except a low number of people workling in that department is, that those same people have to drink a lot of tee, coffe or vodka.. maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm not...

  • It has become a trend, that Like HTC, LG has become offended from its customers, because sales and losses are piling up! In retaliation they have stopped any type of security updates or upgraded to Oreo! Otherwise Look at Microsoft their system Windows has flopped, under one percent, but every 7th of each month their is security update, plus apps upgrades on regular basis! LG should cater to its responsibilities towards customers after sales obligations!

  • I heard that LG promised security update every 90 days. If they keep to it, it's fair.

  • Yes, there is. H930DS is the international model so it would naturally comes with Google apps preloaded.

  • After using it for around 2 months I can say LG V30+ is definitely a great device. No lag's whatsoever except on the phone dialer/contact app which is bit frustrating sometimes. But my only concern with LG is that there is no on time security updates and OS updates which is a bummer considering LG is a tier-1 brand. This issue along will make lot of users decide not to buy LG flagships. Dear LG. If you are reading this user opinion column and if you are really concerned about your users then give on time security as well as OS updates orelse you are going to loose lots of your existing customers no matter how good your phone is and how good a phone you release in the future.

  • Yes,have.

  • Can someone tell me if the H930DS model with the HK ROM has all the Google apps installed, including Google Play Store, Google Network? Thank you

  • As impartial, I wud honestly declare V30+ as above average in all fields, but timing and supply problems, plus drastic prices slashed is a nervous move by LG. As G 7 on the way, we wud definately like V40 prototype in works!

  • I am at a loss to even begin to understand your negative comments about the display. The display on my V30+ is absolutely fantastic. I can find no fault in it whatsoever. It is clear, bright, detailed and has excellent contrast. I am aware that there was some criticism of early releases but my, recently purchased, phone has no issues at all with the quality of the screen.

  • Excellent phone. V30 for 600-650 euros is a bargain The oneplus 5T for 500 euros is a bargain too. Both are excellent phones but the V30 being superior but with a steeper price

  • A V20 with enlarged battery of 6.400 mAh upwards.

  • Blind go for v30 u will easily get SOT of 6.30 hrs if u minise the uses if ur uses is high consider getting 5.30 to 5 hrs of backup easily

  • How is the battery SOT and standby time on the V30? Does the battery drain a lot overnight? I'm trying to decide between the V30 or the Mate 10 Pro. Samsung battery life sucks, so I'm not considering the S9+. The Mate 10 Pro has a 4,000 mAh battery, LG V30 only 3,300 mAh. My Nexus 6P has 3,450 mAh, so the smaller battery scares me. But I want to have the headphone jack with the quad DAC for music. And I see reviewers that say EMUI software on the Mate 10 Pro is bad. Is this true? Why is it bad? Then I'm thinking, should I wait for the LG G7, V40 or Note 9? I'm very torn, lol. What should I do?

  • Hi i want to share my experience with my lg v30+. In short, i think its awesome phone i like it more than samsung but i end up sold it..here is why First the design is top notch. Its solid and screen is detailed. Not to mention the weight feels perfect in my hand. I still honestly missed that feeling in my hand. Speaker is fine. Mono is not that astounding, but most competitor with headphone jack are same anyway. If i want to hear better music just plug headphone jack and quad dac voila. Storage have 128gb for plus version. Definetely feels perfect for me rather than most 64gb competitor (theres only 128gb v30 in my place and competitor mostly 64gb). Battery is solid and fast enough no complaint at all. Camera might be losing quality than the competitor, but using google camera and its one of kind wide angle cam is comparable enough that i dont see it as weakness at all. Now as for why i end up sold it, the display is UNBEARABLE for me. I know, its detailed crispy cool.and smooth. But the ugly/gloomy color is unfixable for me. I tried every kind of setting and app. I tried to bear with it but i just cannot love the screen. True, its more awesome screen than my note 4 but i just cannot love the display . Something i have no problem with my previous v20 So with broken heart, i end up separate with my v30. Waiting for iphone x now. If the screen is at least bearable for me to watch, i would definetely not going to choose another phone. Sorry for just ranting, i love v30 in every way but for a flagship phone that problem is just unbearable to ignore

  • Thats what i was trying to say to him/her

  • This design is art. Beautiful i must say

  • v30 is better

  • Yeah, I was planning on buying the Sound Magic e80C if I bought the phone, lol. Thanks!

  • Which better to buy .. Lg v30 or Huawei Mate 10 ?

  • The lgv30 changes the amp output depending on the impedance it gets from the headphones, you can trick it into a louder output just Google something like Lgv30 quad dac modes, lots of discussions on this, lots of people including audiophile experts talking about how it's the best dac in any phone and talk about the different modes and how they work etc If you want the best audio out of the phone buy some sound magic e50c or e80c in ear headphones you will be blown away

  • Lgv30 all day long.... Cheaper... Actual headphone jack and no dongle needed... Wide angle camera that can be used for many things including selfies with Google camera port and it even supports portrait mode and you can use the flash for some of the best selfie and blogging.... Microphones that don't distort even with loud recordings.... Great battery life no battery saving techniques and I get over 6 hours screen on time deep sleep is awesome with no hacks etc... The quad dac has to be hard to be believed just make sure your headphones are over 50ohms for example sound magic e50c or e80c in ears.... The screen is amazing and problems exaggerated a lot.... Good firmware with tap to wake, always on display, themes, just install nova launcher... Boom The lgv30 128gb is just 500 pounds online at the minute.... The best mobile on the market right now for that price

  • I get you love the lgv20... But some of us are really happy with the lgv30 If you like the lgv20 so much buy a couple more, they are cheaper now. Those of us that appreciate the lgv30 can use that, you keep going on about a second screen and bigger battery's but I'm really happy with an amoled screen with always on display and with over 6 hours screen on time and quick charging with waterproof design so I can listen to music in the shower every day Different users.. Different needs.... Buy the lgv20... Stick a brick in it for extra battery life... I'd rather have the amoled screen and waterproof design every day

  • The lgv30 selfie camera does suck.... So use the wide angle camera with the Google pixel camera port in portrait mode you can even use the flash If you use this method its one of the best selfie cameras

  • Lg v30 plus oreo is coming March-april

  • Why can't we, keep trotting from one brand to another, losing the original mainstream does & don't's. But every time you shift brands, become more venerable to confusion. LG is one of them, and I wud not like to Risk.

  • Why can't we, keep trotting from one brand to another, losing the original mainstream does & don't's. But every time you shift brands, become more venerable to confusion. LG is one of them, and I wud not like to Risk.

  • 1. As I said, only a very few people expose their phones to water, while on the other hand, ALL batteries are guaranteed to fail and going to need replacement, because all of them have limited lifespan. So removable battery is the most important. And the removable battery doesn't exclude the water resistance. You can have both. 2. there is no much difference between Snapdragon 820 and 835 in single core performance 3. 18:9 display is unnecessary and useless, 16:9 is better 4. yes, the quad dac is not important. any phone sounds good with headphones 6. oled is much worse than lcd, it is not more power efficient, and burn-in is the worst thing about oled 7. Basically the battery life is not related to whether the battery is sealed or not. So if a new phone with sealed battery has better battery life, it's due to other factors that can be incorporated into a phone with removable battery too. Moreover, you can insert 6000mAh or even 10000mAh extended battery into the V20. You can't do this with V30. Also the non-removable battery of the V30 has limited lifespan, it degrades over time which means the V30 is a disposable phone and will have shorter battery life than V20, it's guaranteed. So the sealed battery means lower battery life in the long run.

  • For how much screen on time?

  • With extended batteries of 6.400 mAh and upwards I don't need spare batteries at all on my V20.

  • 1: how to water and dust resistance a gimmick?with that you dont even have to worry whether or not your phone is doing to be damaged near water 2:835 vs 820 there is a big performance gap between these two... 3:how come 18:9 display on the v 30 bad?i like it over regular 16:9 4:quad dac not an important thing?hmm... Are you joking or what? I use it every single time i plug my headphones to my phone which is about 4hrs everyday 5:the smaller pixel size does affect the quality of image of the camera for me 6:oled worst than ips? Oled is more power efficient than ips and burn in is not worst than light bleeding on ips displays 7:when i say better battery life i really meant better cause do you think each and every people that use v20 have spare batteries on them?i bet no and i bet that the v20 can get max 5hrs of screen on time whereas mine i hot 9hrs on my v30 almost everyday and it had enought juice to go to 10 but i just put it on the charger cause i need it full charge for school the day after

  • Obnoxious prices of V30S announced, 975$ 128 1075$ 256! No difference, later n September V30 & V30+ will also get AI support. What are we expecting from LG a Notch, Vertical twin Camera! Following Chinese patterns. As Apple will do away from Notch in 2019. 100%!

  • I wonder if the employees at LG Mobile even use their own phones cause if they do .....they'd be disappointed with the V30's design deviation from it's predecessors like I am.  Removable battery, IR Transmitter and Secondary Screen should've stayed on the V30.  It's complete insanity to even think that removing pertinent hardware and useful features in any electronics device actually constitutes technological improvement or advancement at higher consumer's expense.  Just venting .....**sigh** .... I feel much better now..... I still like you LG ! I'll just wait for your next one.

  • Another FlopShip phone with famous Boot Looping will come after 5 to six month of use.

  • If you listen to music lot via headphone then V30 is great but not by much as U11+ output is also very good only thing is you have to use an extra dongle which is again an additional thing to carry. Pro's of U11+: 1. Boom sound loudspeaker output is awesome. 2. Rear camera is simply much better than V30 in auto mode. 3. Selfi Camera is miles ahead of V30. 4. Running on Oreo and I am sure that we will receive next major update within 4 months of Release . 5. Great battery life (Some might disagree but I am getting around 5-7 hrs of screen On time from around 12 hrs of usage) 6. Superb display...... but very dim for outdoor usage. Pros of LG V30: 1. Very compact 6 inch mobile with bright amoled display ( There are lot of display issue as per other users but my unit is great) 2. Superb manual camera mode especially for videos(Selfi cam really sucks). 3. Sound output via 3.5mm headphone jack is great. But loudspeaker output is just flat. 4. great battery life. Major issue with LG is that they are lease bothered about software support and you will never get a replay for your queries from their customer support.

  • How would you compare the headphone audio from the quad DAC on the LG V30 to BoomSound on the U11+? Are they similar in sound, on-par, or is the V30 better than BoomSound? Or vice-versa? I have 32 ohm impedance earbuds that sound great on HTC phones with BoomSound, but when I tested my earbuds on the V30, there was no difference in the sound whether the DAC was toggled on or off. I have seen videos on YouTube that show you need 50+ ohm headphones for the quad DAC to work on the V30. Still, I like BoomSound because it gives music a more full sound, and you can hear each instrument in music. Which do you think is better?

  • having used both the phone I would insist on U11+. Only thing I am leaning away from Lg v30 is lack of proper software update support. Still no Oreo update and even don't think we will get any more update apart from Oreo if at all we receive it.

  • V30 is a Sham! Only ram 2gb increased, rest is same bulls it. Price 850$ obnoxious. LG has no new model in pipeline G7 and V40 Shelved!

  • v30

  • if you dont mind about battery then u11+

  • Should I get LG V30 or the htc U11/+?

  • Nobody gets notice, informing him of any update, only asks click yes for updates to download. Don’t make fool of us!

  • HTC U11+ or LG V30+? Speaker quality, audio quality, firmware, camera quality, gaming, performance?

  • It does have wireless charging. bad reviews on that works great on a friends Samsung charger

  • Only had for 2 months but no problem with the screen. got a Otter Box Defender with no screen protection and so far no scratches

  • Wow quick go out and sell it right now. All the specs were posted so why did you buy it. Or maybe u do not own a LGV30 but are just a Apple fanboy or maybe a Samsung freak

  • Got a notice that I will be getting my Oreo update next month so what are u yapping about

  • I couldn't in my wildest dreams imagine that anyone could be worse with software updates than Samsung, but then I bought my first LG phone. Boy was I wrong, I am actually at the point where I don't expect anything to happen before summer.

  • better battery is true.

  • 1.water resistance - useless gimmick, most people never expose their phones to water 2.better processor - mandatory / standard / general upgrade every year, however there is no much difference between Snapdragon 820 and 835 in single core performance 3.18:9 display - one of the worst things about V30 4.upgraded quad dac - useless, not an important thing 5.upgraded cameras - mandatory / standard / general upgrade every year, however the smaller pixel size sounds more like a downgrade 6.oled display - worse than IPS LCD 7.better battery life - not true, read the next point 8.bigger battery - bigger by 100mAh, right? Are you joking? You can insert 6000mAh or even 10000mAh extended battery into the V20. Also the non-removable battery of your V30 has limited lifespan, it degrades over time which means your V30 is a disposable phone and will have shorter battery life than V20.

  • Lol v30 still king of battery life.....kill the s9 hahaha

  • Anyone using this phone without screen protector? Please let me know your experiences. How is the glass screen holding up over the time.. thanks!

  • It is something to get used on because usually you try to pich a button on the side of the phone, now it is on the back. But once you are used to it, it definitely is easy and practical. And it also is the fingerprint scanner at the same time so unlocking is easy.

  • You definitely get used to it but it is weird at first coming from the Samsung s8. After a day it's as practical as any button

  • They built one of the best phones of 2017 then limited it to the worst retailer in the UK... Terrible marketing from LG I still bought it through them as I wanted to insure it and have warranty You can get the 128gb model online for less than I paid for mine It's a great phone though, when I get tempted by the s9 I just plug my sound magic e80c headphones in and I am forget about the s9

  • I damn love my v20 its monster phone and its cheap than samsung. And more powerfull i have been using it for 1 year heavy useing so i am really exctied to get v30 thanks lg

  • is the on and off button on the back practical?

  • The review is very thorough and helpful. However, these days all reviews should make clear in both the text and the specifications whether a phone has wireless charging. This review fails that test. As far as I am concerned, absent wireless charging the phone can be brilliant but I will not even consider buying it. Once you have had QI you never want to be without it.

  • Shame that LG seem to make little effort to sell what is clearly an excellent phone in the UK. Only Car phone warehouse seem to stock it and then only in a few branches. No adverts. No market penetration.

  • You can use the wide angle camera and google camera app for decent selfie portraits even in low light with the dual flash , with the wide angle camera you will not miss a selfie from phones like the s8 etc

  • The LG v20 doesn’t have to be compared to the lgv30.... for someone who wants the LG v20 they can pay less and get it and for those who don’t think the lgv20 is better and prefer the lgv30 they can pay a little more and get that Both have advantages and disadvantages, for example a removable battery for you is important but for me I am ok with 6 hours screen on time and a 1 hour 30 mins charge in return for a waterproof design

  • Barcelona had no new entry, all previously models included V30 & plus upgraded by perks, as internal memory, AI, bla bla! After all accepting its precarious Conditions, Financials, & Forecasts!

  • Well i can tell you why i think v30 is better than v20 1.water resistance(very important for me) 2.better processor 3.18:9 display 4.upgraded quad dac 5.upgraded cameras 6.oled display 7.better battery life 8.bigger battery

  • The V20 has not more bootloop issue than the S8 or the iPhone X. Telling you in another way, the V20 has not any bootloop issue at all.

  • lg v20 have bootlop of the death? tell me!

  • Aurora Black or Moroccan Blue?

  • And an exclusive card slot only for the micro SD card.

  • One more reason why V20 is better than V30 is that V20 has dual LED flash, while V30 only has single LED flash. So here's the list of why V20 is a much better phone: - removable battery (most important feature) - IR blaster - no curved edges and corners - non-glass body - useful protective bezels - 16:9 screen - LCD screen (yes, LG's LCD screens are crap because they have image retention, but still better than any (AM)OLED, which have permanent burn-in, color distortion over time, ... - dual LED flash

  • On you place I would wait a bit longer for S9- mai n reason is that they used snapdragon 845 rather then 840, beware that 845 is about 30% faster and they also reduce battery consumption of 25 % so, unfortunately LG V30 is still using old snapdragon 830. I personally like LG mainly for DLNA ,but in this case Samsung making better photos and is available in 128 GB, 6 GB RAM which is the winner for me.

  • Guys any news about Oreo update for V30 outside Korea ?

  • I have used many phones from s8 ,s8 plus ,iphone 7 7plus ,8 one plus 5 but can say its better then all of the above in battery and same comparison with some phones like pixel 2 one plus 5t its very fluid as well ...If in india u will get exynos processsor and snapdragon is far more efficient go for it...

  • I would highly suggest the V30. This phone is even for a 6 incher quite compact. Easier to put in the pocket and it can be bought for less money than S8+. Also the dual camera setup is a big plus with the wide angle lens.

  • Hi, Just wanna ask something opinions Im planning to buy a new phone, i hve 2 option 1. LG V30 2. Samsung Galaxy S8+ Which one is better ? frpm spec and daily use ? i only using for media social, youtube, sometimes also camera, and for meta trader. thanks a lot

  • Buxz777, I really appreciate that you took the time to reply to my concerns. I'll take a look at the LG v20 since it would be a good upgrade for me. Keeping it LG!! HAHA

  • OP 5T can't even play FullHD content from Netflix and Amazon. Just saying. BTW, v30 is now selling for 675$ in US for 64GB model and 730$ for 128 GB. Guess v30S is going to fit around these prices. So not much value when compared with OP 5T @ 560$.

  • It's cool phone . Screen is so beautiful no problem super fast

  • iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X comes with 7MP, S8, S8 plus, note 8 and now S9 and S9 plus comes with 8MP with autofocus, pixel xl and xl 2 comes with 8MP only Chinese phones comes with higher front facing camera that can’t take good photo unless if you go for one plus 5 and 5T with 16MP its excellent.

  • Lg mobile compny i advice you lg v30 & lg g6 great smartphones but selfi camra not good because every mobile companies use 13mp 16 mp & 20 mp selfi camras use there smartphones but lg remain stay only 5 mp poor poor selfi shooter

  • I never said opt5 is better than v30. For $500, opt5 has better value for the money compared to $850 v30. Opt5 can do pretty much everything that v30 can except dac n waterproof n sd card slot. Dont care to much for waterproof or sd slot. 64-128gb is more than enough. Just saying.

  • Don't know where you are in the world but here South Africa LG is one of the better brands with real good after sales service (unlike iPhone). Even with there good after sales service I have never used it because all my LG phones last without any problems.

  • What is their extra, which is not in any other brand! Only LG lacks after sales service, supply chain and local dealership. Anybody who gets hold of few sets sells on its own rates! Lastly no resale or demand!

  • Everyone who uses the phone loves it .... you made a great choice .... it’s just a shame people hate on this phone for no reason ... especially when they don’t own it lol

  • It was released in the uk in November ... it’s 3 months old here ... not one year old ... why do you all talk so much crap ... no other phone offers what the lgv30 does in one package ... no other phone offers this amount of hardware at this price ... LG have made the best two phones of 2017 ... the lgv30 and the pixel

  • The v30 plus is only for selected markets so I don’t see your point ? Whatever point you’re trying to make , it really doesn’t change the fact that the LG v30 is the best value handset you can buy right now , the handset that offers the best hardware for your money and offers things like non distorting microphones and hifi quality dac that users actually use and that actually enhance the device for the end user

  • Where you all at launch, praising V30 as within a Qtr LG added V30+ all invein! Response to its Sales LG decided not to launch any new products. No regular company operating store, nor supply chain failure. It's Samsung even my own bad experience, has survived its N7 Crouch! With N8 launch hatrick!

  • You guys, after year old, model now openly available, when price is 650$ V30+ and no new model comming nor announced, is a blatant proof of LOS Failure!

  • I can say this phone is one of the best android phone currently. Previously use Huawei Mate 10 but not quite satisfy with the quality of camera (i mainly capture still pic with camera). The colour is over saturated and got some issues with some apps network / connectivity. So i decide to sell it and buy a used LG V30 instead and I love it. Maybe the camera is not as good as google pixel 2 but still very good and better than over hyped huawei mate 10. OLED screen is acceptably good, the smoothness, all apps functioning fantastically. You can' t go wrong with this phone.

  • It’s the best phone on the market right now .... I won’t even be tempted by the s9 .... I’ll be waiting to see what LG come up with next because they have absolutely killed it with the lgv30 Please buy some soundmagic e50 or e80 headphones , they are over 50ohm and release the full power of the in built dac , you will literally be blown away LG need to advertise this phone more , they have the best phone on the market , cheaper than the competition and yet people don’t know about its features , it’s value , how versatile it is How many people record a concert and get annoyed with distorted audio , how many people enjoy listening to music on their phones , how many people want a big screen in a small package , how many people want good battery life with easily over 6 hours screen on time , how many people want good cameras , how many people want secure devices Samsung give us a bixby button , apple take away the headphone jack , one plus doesn’t really do anything well , pixel is nothing but a half decent camera , LG packs in everything it can that actually makes the device better for the user

  • You can buy the lgv30 much cheaper than that , just import it , in the uk they both cost 500 pounds The LG offers better microphones that don’t distort , micro sd a lot , waterproofing , high end dac , better cameras , better video recording , better warranty and support, military grade materials , the LG v30 is the first phone to support a 10bit sensor , lgv30 made sure the lens was the fastest and sharp across the frame The one plus is crap , it has crap microphones , crap camera sensors , worse camera lens , no micro sd slot , no waterproof design , cheap materials , one plus have been known to add spyware , known to cheat benchmarks , known to offer shocking customer support So yeah one plus are stealing data , using cheap materials and LG are using the best materials possible , the highest quality hardware and yet people still think that one plus is a better phone ... wow man ... lost for words

  • This phone is amazing. Insane battery life more than 6 hours screen on time. Superb photos. Blazing fast. Very useful software. I dumped my iPhone x and S8 for it. Very light, very well distributed weight. Never used a big phone and enjoyed it in one hand like the v30. Military grade proofing, wireless charging, screen. Loved that YouTube and gallery, Netflix, use the full landscape of screen. iPhone x used a lot less and apps are still not mature. Headphone 3.5 mm. Having more than 50% battery when going to bed after more than 4 hours screen on time is unbelievable. Also needless to say how premium it feels in hand and how fast it charges. Very well done LG. Can't be excited with anything else for a while.

  • Amazing phone. Prior to this I owned, and was disappointed with the Samsung Galaxy S8. The LG V30 is a far better phone for me. Doesn't have pointless gimmicks like way too curved display and biz by. The V30 is quite simply just an awesome Android phone. Expandable memory, wireless charging and a case / screen protector friendly design as well as blistering performance, a brilliant screen and great audio. The design is more elegant than the S8 and the easily reachable centralised fingerprint scanner and power button combo is a great idea.

  • Lmao. U need to read the review again about the battery bruh. Im using the v30. Like i said, opt5 has better value for $500. V30 is almost $900. Just saying. V30 is a good phone but not great. Without the dac, v30 is a pos for $900.

  • V30 has way better battery life then Op5t..check reviews and also gsmarena reviews. Stop saying lies. If you really like Op5t just say so on their page

  • V30 is $850 for 64gb n op5t 128gb is $550 in the US! V30 has DAC n waterproof(not that important). Battery on op5t is a little better than v30! The rest are same spects with op5t. V30 camera is not that great like most people think.

  • The lgv30 comes with a high end dac that is equivalent to 500 pound portable dacs , it is waterproof, it has better battery life , it has a wide angle camera you can use anytime you want instead of a second camera you can only use when the phone lets you , it has high end microphones that don’t distort , it has slog video recording , it has a micro sd slot You can buy the 128gb one plus for 500 pounds ... you can buy the lgv30 128gb for 507 pounds ... how is the one plus better value when the lgv30 offers the consumer high end components and materials that the one plus doesn’t Wow ... just wow

  • Hey , I do love the lgv30 , I also feel it’s very underrated as a phone ,it’s now 50p pounds and packs the best hardware on the market with some really nice features like wide angle camera , high quality dac , audio that doesn’t distort in recordings etc etc If you are on a budget I’d also recommend the lgv20 and a battery kit , the v20 is also very underrated , you can pick it up dirt cheap , you get the high quality dac , good cameras , solid build quality , a reliable snapdragon 820 , ir scanner for TVs etc , micro sd card slot , top quality video recording and the same high quality distortion free microphones , a second small screen for notifications etc , a decent ips screen The lgv30 is definitely the better phone but the v20 at half the price is a great upgrade from your current phone and you still get a phone thatnin my humble opinion would of sold better than the s7 had it been released in the uk and Europe officially The LG g6 64gb also comes with the high end dac and can also be had for a bit more than the v20 but a bit less than the v30 , it’s another great phone and it will again be a solid upgrade to your current phone and cheaper than the v30 . Make sure you get the 64gb g6 though the 32gb models don’t come with the dac which is a huge negative , the dac is top quality and a major selling point If I can help any more just ask and don’t listen to the haters they are great phones I’ve switched from Samsung and the features LG pack in are a lot better , a lot more useful than a bloody bixby button lol

  • How is the update on tmobile usa? I hate new uodates. It could be worst. Thanks

  • Ive been using v30 few months. Good but not great phone. Op5t has best value! I would buy op5t if it had been released before v30!!!!

  • Don't get any accessories, hopeless UI and Themes. No updates as VPN needed.

  • Buxz777, u seem to know a lot about cell phones, mind if i pick your brain? I've used Samsung for the first time before with the galaxy s4 (i believe), yes it's been a long time, cause after 3-4 months of use, it started lagging, so i trade it in for my LG g3. i have been using till this day, 3 years later and really my only complaint is that it does get hot, but no other issue until the last 2 months of use it started lagging, and when i switch phone companies and installed a new SD card, that's when more problems started. It would kick me out of the app that i was on and return me to the home screen, sometimes it would just restart the whole phone by itself while i'm using it, then after i updated a gaming app and started playing my game, in the middle of the game it froze, so i turned the whole phone off to restart it, never could get it past the LG startup screen. my thing is, i'm considering either repairing the G3 (cause i luv the damn phone) or just getting a new LG (V30, or whatever, i want bang for my buck and LG delivers)...what do u recommend? I've seen comments about how u really love the v30. idk if i should wait for the v30 price to go lower, and what is this Oreo everyone speaks of? (i'm not very tech savvy myself, i buy my cellphones (and other tech stuff) based on reviews, google research, and from experience using the devices).

  • It really doesn’t you need the version by cstark from xda v3.5

  • It just pixelates the picture.

  • By the way .... you can also run the pixel camera app and devs have got it working on both the normal camera and the wide angle camera ... another great feature for the LG v30

  • Hold on a minute if you go on YouTube and search lgv30 Oreo update you will see that there is a stable official Oreo release , it’s already in Korean and USA devices I am sure your update will come soon , but until it does , what is your problem with the current firmware? It is stable , smooth , great battery life So yes the LG v30 will get Oreo , some already have it , some will get it soon

  • Samsung is also slow no Oreo for note 8

  • Flagship model V30+ but no update nor anticipated to Oreo update. Lazy, slow, retarded LG R&D depart!

  • Yes when the new update comes out android 8 Oreo will be available.

  • V30 all the way or Pixel 2xl

  • Is LG V30 uprgadable to Android 8.0?

  • Got an enhancement update last week after that I am facing a weird bug. Sometimes if I dial a number (saved or dialed) it takes around 6 to 8 seconds to call. Anyone else facing same issue????? By the way I have V30+ Indian model.

  • LG V30 is 100% better than both

  • If you buy the one plus over the lgv30 or s8 you are mad mate Lgv30 all day long... That quad dac is immense

  • You can buy the 128gb for 500 pounds so stop talking rubbish The dac in the lgv30 is on par with 500 pounds external dacs so it's a bloody bargain for what you get

  • I don't need external batteries with quick charge 3 and over 6 hours screen on time, the battery on the lgv30 is great You can still use 2 sim cards and a micro sd slot on the lgv30 with an adapter from ebay The screen on the lgv30 is great and it's much better than the lgv20 that suffered image retention quite badly The infa red blaster is handy but so is waterproofing so I am happy my phone is protected from water Also the lgv20 was not released in my country meaning no support, no warranty and I can't insure it with my bank The lgv30 is much better than the lgv20 in my humble opinion

  • I need help to decide: LG V30, Samsung galaxy S8+ or Oneplus 5t?

  • If for you isn't important the use of extended batteries, an exclusive slot to micro SD, 16 : 9 screen ratio and IR blaster, the V30 are your correct choice.

  • Buying 835 for 850$ is nuisance, when 845 S9+ is releasing on 25 Feb for same price. Its madness just let LG Moarn!

  • How is Netflix HDR on this phone, head there was picture issues

  • The LG v20 is a great buy , if people don’t have the money for the LGv30 the lgv20 is a great alternative However I wanted the snapdragon 835 , waterproofing, better camera , battery battery life , better screen

  • Another buyer .... another happy user ... like I said below .... all the people that use it love it .. the only people that moan are the people that don’t use it ✌️

  • bought it one week ago.perfect battery life.incredible sound.gorgeous display.great camera.smooth like butter.i love this phone.

  • T-Mobile LG Buy One Get One Free Deal, no new line needed or T-Mobile One plan - Starting Feb 16th. LG G6, LG V30, or LG V30+ Free projector from LG for each phone purchased.

  • Bought mine in carrefour deira city centre for 3049 aed in grey

  • Biggest Shame by LG, No new model G7 gone with the wind, Selling projectors with 850$ sets but same old V30's!

  • By less money, the V20.

  • Everyone who owns the v30 says how awesome it is , people who don’t own it moan ffs It’s one of the best phones of the year ... quad dac ... best audio recording ... best video recording ... great main camera ... fun wide angle camera .... crazy good battery life and deep sleep ... military grade materials ... nice screen that hasn’t shown any issues and is a pleasure to use ... waterproof... ois ... double tap to wake ... good fingerprint scanner Yes the front facing camera isn’t great , yes they should have made it 6gb , do these effect the usage of the phone .... not at all ... you can easily use the wide angle camera to capture selfies that are better than most phones ... the phone runs fine with 4gb of ram and it doesn’t effect performance So please stop hating on this phone , it’s better than the s8 , I know because I’ve owned both , it offers better hardware than the pixel 2 , it’s better than the iPhones , so if LG dome a shit job please tell me what phone is better right now ? What phone offers you what the LGv30 does at 550 pounds

  • Total disaster for LG, in Dubai it's only available Grey, black. Price 560$ but not available. As time passes with no backup phone in sight it's good as dead!

  • Just got myself the V30. I have used the G6 and the Note 8 before and still use the Google Pixel 2 XL. The V30 is really a very nice phone. It has the perfect shape for a 6" 18:9 phone. I like everything about this phone. The hifi music sounds phenomenal. The camera is great, the display, good battery life. You cant go wrong with this phone and the initial high price is gradually coming down.

  • LG mobile are still of old vintage software in face-lift or themes or fonts bold or Gothic bold, all are subject parried. Even updating is a dilemma for them. V30 Selfie Cam is bolder at 5mp! Why they did it first place, no big joke. Now That MWC Spain 256 internal is being launched same model, anybody could double it by 20$MC. But price is 950$ Heavens! Whole R&D depart is dumb!

  • A company that has committed the failure of making the V20 can follow on the home appliances business with high reputation.

  • ↙👍👍 good said ( owned Samsung note 2 ,4 and 5 mega 6.3 ) ( Sony Z1 )( LG G2 , G3 , V20 and V30 ) LG build is better and lasting .

  • Why for Heavens sake, are we after a company reputed for failure models or brick devices. V30 has already suffered delays availability and no resale market. Esp assessaries are never available, locally.normal flip cover is 10 times expensive than Samsung. Glass both sides is so delicate that each time man's afraid of falling. New G7 or V40 are out of question launch on due dates. LG should forget mobile bussiness as if to give a bad name to their home appliances.

  • Ok you are very negative about this device and LG not releasing an update to the g6 and the v30 You do realise that the uk didn’t get the v30 until November the 1st ... the LG is already the most feature packed phone on the market ... why am earth are LG going to update it no other phone at the minute has the amount of tech the LG v30 does so the only thing that they can do to it is add bigger memory for people who want to carry more lossless music with them instead of streaming it all the time as lossless music is very heavy on data allowances The snapdragon 845 is not going to be available to anyone else but Samsung until quarter 2 of the year as Samsung got the first dibs on the first batch of cpus so they can’t even release a new model with the latest cpu and even if they did what difference is that going to make This phone will probably still be one of the best phones come the end of the year because of how much tech is inside it We don’t need LG to release another lgv40 yet .. hardware wise the lgv30 is nearly perfect ... what we need is LG to market their devices more ... get them out to more people ... stop stupid things like making the same phone completely different for different markets like they did with the LG g6 and the removal of the dac in Europe ... we need them to get updates out quicker to their top phones ... we need them to stand behind their products more A lot of people , myself included , use the lgv30 everyday and think it’s the best phone on the market , some of us understand that LG don’t need to release or announce an lgv40 or g7 at wmc to still be considered relevant because we can see they have the most feature packed device on the market at the minute and releasing another flagship just because of a new cpu would be completely pointless ... the only people that seem to want a new LG device and morning about them not having a new phone at wmc are the people not using one of their awesome phones with quad dac If you like music , go to a store that sells the lgv30 take some headphones with you that are rated 50ohm or over like the soundmagic e50c earbuds , take your favourite high quality music file and be prepared to be blown away Like I said ... LG don’t need to release a new phone ... they already have the best phone on the market... they just need to learn how to market and support them a bit bettern✌️

  • Costing 2000$ Lol

  • This the korean special edition of V30 only for korean market lg made only 500 unit and already sold out and the only different ceramic back, 6 gig of ram and 256gb of storage

  • Love the phone Hands Down. But SOOOOO Tired of WAITING For the Oreo Update..... Send it OUT Already. Pleeeaaassse. :\

  • Latest update to 256 gb same V30 950$ gimmick in MWC 2018, NO V40 or G7 launched.

  • Nope he’s right LG delayed G7 and might be going to change the name or maybe V30 the last V serious that’s what I came to know even Galaxy S9 the la#t s line phone and Samsung going to change the name to X line same as iPhone X.

  • I could not agree more...

  • I don't know what you guys are moaning about the LG v30 is one of the best devices I've used... Ever I've just sold my s8 and bought a morrocan blue version, wow, what a device. I don't honestly know why people buy the s8 over the LG apart from I guess LG don't market the phone like Samsung do the s8 The design, the military grade build quality, the cameras, the audio recording, the video recording, the audio playback through headphones are so much better than my s8 I don't feel like I lost anything but rather gained quite a bit by switching from the s8 to the v30, seriously if you are thinking about buying a new flagship phone then definitely consider the v30 LG you really need to learn how to sell and market these great phones, you have one of the best phones on the market but hardly anyone knows about it in the UK

  • Hey your in saudi right?

  • 8. FM Radio is available by download Next Radio app. The capability is present in all models, including US models. 9. User switching is crazy. A phone is not meant to be used like a desktop. Moot points. And Samsung would probably have the same battery drain. 10. Screen is amazingly good. Blue tint is not a major issue like many reviewers have made it out to be. Almost 90% Samsung phone screens have a yellow tint right from day 1. 11. Many other manufacturers are shifting to LG displays now (Apple, Google, Sony, Huawei, etc.). Screen issues will soon a matter of past as it is being handled by world's best OLED TV makers. 12. Updates are a problem for Sprint, Verizon and AT&T version only because they control what firmware is being released to the phone. Tmobile and rest of the world models are getting frequent updates and last update was rolled out in January. No one wants to talk about the good points. Fast phone, smooth animations, amazing network connectivity, fantastic back camera, sound through headphone jacks. People should just stop rehashing some reviewers points and have their own after they have owned/used a device. You will always quote that a friend/colleague/relative had a problem. Typical symptoms of a troll (Specially from India).

  • 1. Icon custmization is very much possible with themes, custom launchers and icon packs, just like in G6. As a matter of fact, a lot of people have downloaded the Mark Benzce Pixel theme and happy to stay put with it. 2. My LG v30+ has fallen a few times from my hands to the room floor and other places. Not a scratch. It is sturdy. 3. Front Camera is decent if you disable skintone and lighting to 0. Now that Pixel camera is out for v30 for a long time, it further makes selfie-fiends happy. 4. Notification light, if anything, has made me run less to my phone. I can see all the notifications without touching my phone fine. I am happy to not see my S6 Edge notification light anymore. 5. AOD is not a battery killer. One of the most efficient AODs around. 6. Google Calendar is standard for all phones (except Samsung). It uses the same AccuWeather widget that Samsung uses. 7. For SMS, switch to Textra. It is awesome.

  • Understand that it will be a repeat of V20, No OREO update in sight! LG wake up from drowsiness in reality. Glass back shu'd be immediately discontinued, only for wireless charging, to Alluminium or Carbon Single Body Structure! V30+ is a shame 850$ Set but no availability in Blue or Lilac. Old leftovers Black and Silver, now V40 cancelation is Proof of LOS Failure in Mobility. Life's Good only in Home Appliances!

  • all coments from this guy ar full of crap this person sounds like he has never had a V30 to even use either a fan boy Apple or a Samsung snob. i find my V30 is a good fit for me

  • Download Next Radio from app stoe; it is free; then plug in your headphones; it works great

  • not true troll crap

  • ya i have a LG-H933; i live in Victoria BC and have it with Bell When i power up i have a LG V30 and POWERED BY ANDROID screen pop up first

  • yes and it works very good almost every time

  • You can't customize icons just like in G6. I don't understand why they canceled this feature. Pointless. Back glass panel very sensitive. Anytime can be broken when you drop from your hand. Front camera truly crap for a flagship. No notification led. Can't see if the phone charging or any msg comes. Have to use AOD which is battery killer. Very pointless. Customization of display icons and resolution not good as much as samsung. Limited options. Some built in app customization not good very limited just as calendar, weather etc.. You have to download third party app mostly. Switching by users from the top killing battery very fast. You can't get back to main user account before a minute. Makes you wait. If you switch users around 10 times, kills %10 perc battery immediately. In this case i can't use dual whatsapp, line or any other apps cuz of fast battery drains. Phone generally good but still not best..!

  • Why on Earth, LG so popular in Home Applications is a Thug in Mobiles. Just because it has Slow and Old Staff Outcome!

  • By default no... But I heard there is an app to get the FM

  • Actually price has dropped to 750$ V30+ because it's too late to repent. Now uptil no Oreo even expected date, nor update to Jan 18. Never saw price period of selling at zenith. V40 is not expected on due date, even G7 is in jeopardy. LG failed supply chain!

  • Whether your phone has FM radio?

  • Guys any news about Oreo update?????? Or will this be a repeat of V20 again

  • Thanks! I've been using the Moto X style/pure for nearly 3 years and the battery life is terrible.. I'm lucky to get 2.5-3 hours screen on time using a custom ROM. Moto's own firmware will only give me about 2 SOT

  • I feel so very happy that the price of this great phone has come down very much. now we can buy some. I will go to the 2 most popular stores in my country to get one. I really need one for great camera and greatest audio experience. The only flagship phone that has radio. Amazing! Well done LG.

  • The V20 sole inconvenience is the small original battery. Easily solved by extended batteries.

  • Hi, I'm considering buying the V20 and wondered what the battery life is like and if it's worth still purchasing? I'm not a fan of the 18.9 displays... Cheers

  • V30 has broken everybody's heart from dually chain to availability to price and only black or steel scarcely available. Selfie & auto rear cam are bullshit, no after sales service nor repair shop nor parts available. Not Dubai and HK selling with HP laptops with it. Failure in Toto!

  • Had V20. Upgraded to V30+. Dissapointed - bluetooth audio quality worse comparing to V20! Same equipment, same apps installed in phone and wtf... Does anyone else can confirm same experience?

  • Some reviewers said that the maximum output from the camera is in manual mode.. if you're click-and-shoot user, well I guess that's what making it blurry..

  • "+" and not "+" version have the same price in the Europe. It seems that these independent sellers who import "+" version from HongKong have better price than LG therefore both prices are actually identical. From lessons learned, I would not buy phone from another region (mainly service issues).

  • After 7 days of use my V30 plus fails to play music on headphones, right channel has no sound. Problem with audio jack. LG Europe official support service refuses to fix it as V30+ is not sold in EU by LG but only by independent importers. I have to send it to HongKong. They claim that no service exists in Germany, BeNeLux. Scarry.

  • It's already set to be last, of V series as Confirmed by LG, due to poor supply chain and availability. Now LG has delayed G7 whenever they fit to Launch. Like wise V40 is now a dream come True. Frankly LG should wind up mobile division to concentrate on home applications. One model launch in Sept has yet to reach market freely. No demand as such, Chinese are more better in all respects, only phobia to be removed.

  • Well I got the V30+ in India on 20th thinking of selling my HTC U11. Here are my review comparing them along with S7 edge (my wife's mobile). Few clarification about my LG V30+ unit compared to comments from others. My device have a display with uniform brightness. No light bleed issue or screen burn issue nor blurry screen at grey or low bright nor extreme color shift issue (Slight blue shit is there but its minor). No gaps in between glass sandwich design also. Pros of LG V30+ over HTC U11. 1. Even though V30 is lighter than U11 it feels sturdy in hand. 2. The 18:9 display is very good and you will feel it once you start using it. 3. Primary camera performs great in manual mode but in auto mode its far from U11's stellar camera. Wide angle camera is great though. 5. Battery life is great on Both devices. 6. Inky black display on OLED display is always great. 7. Headphone jack is there with quad dac amp which shows its might. 8. V30 simply shines at video mode and no second thought at it. Pros of HTC U11 over LG V30+ 1. HTC has 2 more GB of RAM (Indian Unit) which clearly reflects on multitasking. 2. U11's and even S7 edge's rear camera simply are great in auto mode with ample detail and great dynamic range compared to V30. 3. Selfi Camera on HTC is miles ahead of mediocre one on LG. LG's front cam really SUCKS!!! 3. Boom Sound HTC Speaker output is simply awesome. Even though LG's speaker is loud, its output is simply flat. 4. HTC's UI is simple and almost near stock android. V30's optimization is good but is still lacks refinement. Some common things: 1. Both have 128gb of internal memory with dual hybrid sim slots. 2. Network reception are great in both devices. 3. Battery life is great on both handsets. 4. Display saturation is also great in both devices. Well guys you woun't be disappointed with either devices. But Kudos to LG for providing a great device after a long time.

  • Sadly i think its not a gap/factory problem either. I think the same and claimed it to the shop. It tooks almost one month of check with going back and forth until they finally send it to lg service for check. Result? A waste of month with my phone declared not faulty and returned Seriously, please dont make such a faulty device lg!

  • In where i am, + version is cheaper than note 8 around 100-150$. Dunno about another place

  • yes it does and its good.. tried it in a low light condition

  • V30 is cheaper? Actually V30 plus more expensive than note 8

  • here is a link for that v30+ offer (which should be finished by today) also i believe that the v20 launch price was 640$ where i live, thankfully i didnt get it at launch. to each his own needs, i really need that powerfull headphone jack.

  • V20 was 550$ when launched, now if you trade paying extra 400 comes to 950. Its no use V30+ us just Jab in our eyes, no resale plus selfie horrible, plus after 8 months released an double internal, where as card 20$ would suffice. Rest LG have themselves excepted no need for regular upgrades, but substantial leap of technology. Meaning V50 could Cope!

  • i don't have this problem, (i just took a shot of an object with a distance over 30 feet) focus was spot on. i would recommend returning your unit.

  • Are you sure?? Or you just trolling here.......LOL

  • The camera on this phone is total B.S. . IF your subject is anything more than 15ft, the entire picture will blur and Pixelate. This happens with both cameras!!! Do not buy this phone!!! I am very disappointed with LG for scamming people with this phone and I am also disappointed with GSMARENA for not mentioning this OBVIOUS problem with this phone!

  • i have the same thing on mine i wouldn't even call it a problem, its a negligible uniformity issue which my older s7 edge also had (maybe to lesser degree). + i dont think its a gap (you can't stick anything inside, not even a thin paper), it just a glass leak at the corners of the black bezel.

  • Definitely Send back & ask for a refund or replacement. Probably Refund would be much preferable. Mr.FancyCake, you were cheated.

  • I would ask for another device, if the seller has any other V30s it is.

  • i just got the V30+ a great deal an official LG offer to trade your old V20 or G6 + you get a 50% discount on the V30+. all i paid equals exactly 400$ + my old V20.

  • I would claim for an exchange in a heart beat. Hopefully yours it's a reputable & trusted seller.

  • Hello guys! Today i got my V30+ that i bought new from a Ebay seller, and it has a screen problem, to be more concrete there is a gap between a screen and a metal bar. Should i send it back and ask for refund? Here are some pics:

  • no need to upgrade as v20 has more great features live the second display. And performance is almost the same.

  • Prices will Rise, when we accept it and help them to achieve their targets, I have S7edge it's sufficient till 2020. No use changing every year.

  • in my saudi arabia theres is an offer to exchange your old LG V20 or LG G6 for 50% discount. does anyone thinks i should go with it or skip? so it will cost exactly 400$+my old V20.

  • you post same question while it's been answered? can you read?

  • Lol for me redo g4 and v10 with new soc...these phone best ever Lg design ... The reason i still keep them alive

  • I don't think there is 1 way to justify the increased price from the old flagship ( g6 ) from 499 euros to the new flagship (v30) to 899 euro Way to expensive

  • Hi guys, does LG V30 has face recognition unlock or iris scenner unlock? Thanks

  • yes it does but it's less secure than fingerprint unlock

  • Hi guys, does LG V30 has face recognition unlock or iris scenner unlock? Thanks

  • Heres my honest opinion. I am neither samsung/lg fan - V30 better design, slim and more durable. More useable than taller note 8 in daily basis. Though note 8 more pop out in color/brightness display i still find v30 display easier to touch. Note 8 with v30 design? I would buy it without hesistation. - wide angle is better if you like to traveling or recording videos. But if you like a selfies photo, food, people face or basically concentrated in single object a lot then note 8 - quad dac is better if you use earphone a lot. But if you use speaker or bluetooth speaker it wont change much, both are not stereo anyway... Same with the big headphone. Better pixel 2 xl if you like hearing from speaker - battery almost same, but i think i like v30 better.. A tiny bit. If note 8 is 8 out of 10 i give v30 9 out of 10. Maybe 8.5 - i found samsung software more irritating. Though to be honest both are not that good. Better to use launcher to give a new, better look - manual control on lg is awesome, its good for those which is never satisfied finding a new setting for photo/video. but if you hate such a hassle note 8 is better on auto Overall if i find v30 cheaper about 110-150$ than note 8, buy it. If theyre about same price, i would choose note 8

  • Why have you changed your policy LG ? You were the last sane phone manufacturer left. Stop this, return to your roots, bring back removable battery, screw water proofness, no sane person goes swiming with their phones, and no, you can not take good pictures underwater. This is really sad.

  • Just don't get an LG. V30 is not for you. To me LG V30 is perfect as it is.

  • Troll spamming again....

  • Hi DAN the price is $1,800 ;)

  • Guys! Does anyone of you know the price of The LG V30 Signature Edition? Guys, please inform me. Thank You.:-)

  • Beware of screen retention and bootloop issue. Big letdowns ! Shame coz the pics are great quality.

  • B2 BratislavaEurope [Edit post]prSP3 minutes ago 1. Bring back removable battery 2. More window case options 3. Larger battery life 4. FM and IR 5. Don't need waterproof Ness 6. LG V20 basically but with faster processor 7. Bigger sizes. 6inch 6.2 inch and 6.4 inch 8 identical tablet as well with phone capabilities 9. Ability to install windows 10 and dual boot 10. Knock code improvement it's not tested enough 11. Stability of os needs further improvement 12. Responsiveness needs to be faster. 13. 6gb ram 14. Google cast 15. Battery case official. 16. Oled with colour uniformity and higher nits than Samsung 17. Ultrapower mode like Samsung 18. Make this available to Europe we do like big phones.

  • all V30 models have FM Radio, even Verizon ones. But you need to download NextRadio app or LG app from XDA. It then just works.

  • Lg v30 and Lg g6 are good phones but in order for LG to run down the show, they must offer or put an additional feature to their phones. All features of v30 are amazing. I just hope they will retain that in the next model and add more camera features. They are using dual camera. The best set up for me will be 16 mp lens with ois and portrait mode and can shoot up a video with 920 fps slow-mo then the second lens will be same 13 mp wide angle with 125° field of view, ois. Then the front facing camera will be dual 13/8 mp with portrait mode and wide angle and ois including flash. Then a dual front stereo speakers. That's a killer phone.✌

  • Thats a great price. Brand new? what store?

  • i bought V30+ just for 600usd with 2 years warranty. Generally phone very good. i like it. I got 35hours standby and 9hours screen on time %10 juice left. Everything works fine with phone but samsung software customization much better than lg. For the rest yes lg made very good phone this time..

  • Is there anyone using LG V30+ canada (H933)? When i start up my phone, it show up V30 logo. Is it right ? Please help me. My phone is 4GB and 128GB

  • Im using Moroccan Blue and loving it.

  • Not true, i have been a happy user of V30+ for more than one month. I think the phone is just superb. Although is true that the selfie camera is not on par with most of it's peer. But the rear camera does a great job. Especially the ultra wide angle camera is just pure awesome!

  • LG V30 is out of market phone, no back up Warranty in most countries. Selfie is worst and brick a always not forgotten taboos. Recently LG Top Brass has announced no need to launch new models, except when needed. Supply Chain most disruptive and poor. N8 is Gemini with No aforementioned with it. Updated monthly security updates and market friendly!

  • Mine is V30+ purchased in India. It doesn't show FM radio in apps. Don't know whether it is ok or not because gsmarena quotes that it is having FM radio.

  • Guys which color is better in your opinion blue or silver one? I mean for me both are great, can't decide if i should change order to silver, or keep the blue one.

  • Razer phone, but as i know V30 would be better for gaming, because of ergonomics (Nout 8 more of a working phone), that's pretty much why i ordered my V30 :)

  • except for LG V30 do you have other recommendation for gaming type of phone cause I was planning to buy either LG V30 or Samsung galaxy note8

  • If battery life matters seriously to you, If lower weight matters as well, You have to choose V30

  • Hey guys, any facts, why should i go V30 instead of Note 8? Currently using S7.

  • Definately the V30, I am also planning to buy this phone. I have a Note8 because of the s-pen but the V30 is really awesome. If I were you I would go fot the blue one cause I am also planning to get the blue V30. Altough I have to say the newly announced raspberry rose or whatever the name is, is also looking stunning.

  • Turn off gps, wifi, and lower screen brightness. Gps n max screen brightness drain battery the most. If u r a gamer, battery will drain fast.

  • Would anyone describe the battery as poor or weak? Couse mine ain't doing to wel wanna know if i should give it back.

  • Top Boss LG has openly said no need to launch new models, if and when consider would think. Production of Mobiles Stopped, already going in Loss. Could not handle V30 took 4 months to reach markets, and only plus available. Thanks stay away!

  • Get Note 8 .

  • Just now received update, its about 648mb. January security patch and the version is V10D-IND-XX

  • S8+ or should i spend little more and get V30 ?

  • Lg v30plus indian versionbig one . just now i am receiving update.

  • Is this phone available in Jamaica and if not how can i purchase and have it shipped to me?

  • Front Selfie Cam is horrible, 5mp,rest all same specs as flagships, but no resale zero! Price 850$ 128gb plus. It's too short supply and no choice of colors, only black rest crimson, violet never seen or heard. OREO still fairy tales. There is more to Life than V30.

  • you guys stop blah blah blah check out the reviews and know the phone first. it seems more worthy then s8 , Note 8 , next gen oled screens used on lg v30 and google pixel xl ,3.5 mm jack with dac ,if u ask me to prefer telephoto lens or wide angle i prefer wide angle which cover more area and the cine log no phones takes videos like that

  • Jamaican carriers could not care less about lg v30s.

  • 1) Mate 10 has sd card pro variant lacks it 2) Note8 exynos is much better than snapdragon in battery and performance, only in gpu snapdragon is a little better than exynos but not much of a difference and GSMArena has compared both variants in review

  • Is this available in PH Already ???? :O

  • Can I use Jio Sim (volte) in imported lg v30+ mobile. Please reply

  • lol. still running in android nougat, wtf lg?!

  • Using V30+(dual sim variant) for around a month. Here’s my experience: Display: Vibrant color, screen is not so bright under sunlight and the “blue screen” is actually not so obvious as you will get use to it too Phone signal: Excellent, call quality is amazing Battery: Ard 6hrs of screen on time, at least 4hrs with intensive gaming(vainglory) and also at least 3.5hours screen on time if I use from 6am to 11pm due to work/school Design: Pretty amazing, one of the thinnest and lightest flagship made in 2017 while maintaining all necessary hardwares Camera: Didn’t really ‘wow’ me but wide angle lens is the only one that attracts me to use the camera more. Manual mode is amazing, lots of options to tune Charging: Pretty quick and has a bonus of wireless charging Software experience: Really love some of the extra settings that LG provides but the home launcher was a turn off for me(personal preference) Speakers: Just average

  • Yes, it is available in malaysia

  • Nothing is 100% perfect same as you

  • You should go here and ask a couple of questions regarding your current need so they provide you best answer ;)

  • How is the phone after the update from tmobile usa? Any problems? Thanks

  • Loving my LG V30+. It just feels so good in my hand with it's form factor & light weight. Screen is gorgeous apart from it's minimal blue shift. (which doesn't bother me) Battery life is the main surprise for me. Running at dark theme, I'm in no urgency to charge the device during my day. 6 hours SOT++ consistently with around 20% battery left.

  • Thanks for your advise. But ms sms organizer is not available in my country. I am trying to us Google sms apps for now.

  • yeah I have the same problem with my V20(couldn't figure out why it does though), I have replaced the messaging app with Microsoft SMS organiser, check that out kinda better than the stock one...

  • Are you shying away from Exynos? All the reviews I have seen to date pitting Snapdragon against Exynos, the latter always beats the former. Exynos (minutely) lags behind in the graphics department but not in any noticeable way. Otherwise I would go for Exynos over Snapdragon anytime. You should consider it too. Oh one more thing, Snapdragon gets excessively a warmer than Exynos on the same scale. Put that in mind as well. Pick your Note bro 😁😁. Fret not.

  • Is it available in Malaysia?

  • Hey Marco ! I didn't get it about V30 and Mate10Pro. You will buy Mate10 Pro or you already have it and it wins over V30. Many thanks !

  • For your information Mate 10 has an SD card, it's the Mate 10 pro that has no SD card.

  • Hi I have been using this phone for about one month. It has been a great experience so far for me. The battery life is pretty amazing on this phone. Only one small issue with the messaging notification. It pops up repeatly. Anyone please advise how to stop the repeated notifications.

  • Sory to say v30 is better than note8 . samsung fanboys are many to vote that unbest phone lol

  • But Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been the Smartphone of the Year 2017 and not the LG V30 by many smartphone reviewers out there, thus Note 8 is a *better* all-rounder smartphone. 😏

  • I would say that the LG V30 is arguably the best all-rounded smartphone on the market! What more should you expect from a smartphone? Sadly, I haven't had the chance yet to buy it, but I badly want one in the near future to come. Currently, I am using an LG G5 which is also a pretty awesome smartphone, keeping in mind that if the G5 is one of the best for its time, now the V30 is even more improved and simply the best. As an LG and HTC fan, I would say that Samsung, Huawei, Apple and all the other brands are just merely trying to catch up with this masterpiece but the truth is that there's still a long way to go! :)

  • Even being a discerning buyer the V20 could be a better option to you specialy considering the price. And of course with IR blaster.

  • External sd card was reason to buy it (over Mate 10) as it's easy to salvage photos if phone dies, this is where Mate 10 really disappoints me. Summary: not bad phone, but all these 3-4 top hones, Mate, Note, V30+, Apple X should be cheaper. We are still paying too much for features that are normal to expect, none of them is clear winner. None of them has some specific brilliant feature that would make you say, camera on xy phone is 100% better, and i just went for it... Some old Sonny phones have clearer night shots, old Butterfly 3 has 20MP camera and all features as these new ones, old Galaxy S could easily join this gang as well and these older ones have acceptable prices and are just bit lower quality in details. I really expected bigger difference between old and new generation of phones. PS: the reason why I didn't take Note8 into consideration to buy is that phone for EU market isn't snapdragon based - all reviews I have seen are based on snapdragon, so what I read on web is not what I will get if I buy it here in EU.

  • I just got V30+ and I expected more from the camera. Some photos have pale colors, even my cheap old phone had better saturation. Regarding details, 16 MP catches details well, but not spectacular. Regarding wide angle, it's awesome. When doing camera shots where sun is behind the subject - shots are surprisingly good and exposure compensation is surprising good (I don't understand how they managed to achieve this - impressive). Regarding sound quality and quad DAC, it's nothing spectacular, any good media player has equalizer that does the same thing as quad DAC. Sound strength is not strong enough (considering quad DAC), looks like amplifier inside isn't strong enough to cover the noise of the airplane (if you are frequent flyer noise cancellation isn't really good, actually no noise cancellation while using headphones to listen music). Battery life is just for one day with normal use. Night videos if people are moving/dancing can get blurry. Phone comes with no bloatware, so no need to root it and remove crap; my respect for this as well. Back button to turn off the phone is bit inconvenient, side button would be better (reason, when you push back button to turn it on/off, you need to apply counter-force with finger on the screen to keep the phone in your hand, otherwise it will pop-out from your palm). Finger recognition is 100% working all the time. GPS receiver was more sensitive with my old HTC Butterfly 3 (e.g. in the airplane GPS would work on HTC, but here you need to move phone next to the airplane window - metalic body penalty, htc butterfly was all plastic). Summary: I will buy Mate 10 pro, compare it and sell one I like less on the ebay. I love Mate 10 pro IR blaster to control airco and light from my bed.

  • The most are spread by the trollers itself

  • Nope. It is the issue only with LG devices by most.

  • Bootlop was a issue with snapdragon 808 and 810 cpu on lg

  • Went into my local carphonewarehouse today and looked at a v30 and I admit it is a really nice phone but the demonstration model had really bad screen burn in in the background. Then again they do have them on full screen brightness all day long.

  • Heavens, Launched in September, and Still scarcely available, Selfie is its main weakness, but price of V30+ exorbitant 800$ for double internal memory. LG gone Nuts one model and could not cater to worldwide supply. Now 845 Soc nxt Qtr nobody's taking chances! Now we can clearly judge Samsung might even after N7 debacle it has given fist class S8 series and N8 and still in Billions profit.

  • In terms of hardware it manages to compete with Samsung but in terms of Software & UI long way to go to be a with Samsung top notch UI.

  • Recently went to a local Best Buy to test drive one of these bad boys, they didn't have a single unit on display. Even the blue shirt I ran into tried to convince me that every other flagship on the market was "better" and that the V30 was a "mid-ranger". Yes...Snapdragon 835, 32 Bit Quad DAC, AMOLED Display, 18:9 Aspect Ratio, 4GB Ram, Micro SD support, yes...quite the "mid-ranger".

  • Bootloop is old news, it is solved long time.

  • I Wait new test battery life with Oreo Update.

  • I have not encounter any bootloop or auto reboot after almost a month of using it.

  • One question only. Bootloop or not?

  • LG G7 is coming soon though.

  • Why cannot see the compare pictures from China now??

  • ok, i just noticed last week that there is a faint vertical line in my V30+ screen. It just don't go away. Never see this before. Might need to send to LG service center for a check out. Sad...
