Meizu M6s - User Reviews

  • its the update and battery. I just got mine back from the service center. had the same issue. tip: charge it at 30-20%. Also, dont update firmware if its working properly

  • Even if it's 100%after charge once I remove d charger it offs

  • Same with me

  • Great phone, fast enough, just right size....but I hear crackling when I use what's up, and viber, but not when hearing regular calls. Does anybody have any ideas as to why?? Thanx

  • Same with me

  • Even it still 100% when connected to the charger when I unplugged it the phone shutdown

  • Can I about something after I updated my phone it automatically turns off once I disconnected the charger. So now I need to plug it to the charger for it to turn on for me to use it for wholeday Is it software related or battery related? Thanks

  • Problem is solved after update to 7.1.3.0G. The settings icon can be opened without any problem.

  • Can anyone help me?. Good phone, and pleasent except for update. Need to use Swedish, but phone does not have it.. anyway to get around it?? Thanx for your input

  • DO NOT UPDATE TO 7.1.2OG Bugs: 1) Overheating 2) Battery drain (phone shuts down once battery level goes below 10%) 3) Network issues - I'm having trouble accessing 4G network. It was fine before this update. 4) WiFi - can't connect to 5GHz network! 5) GPS connection became slow 6) and Worst of All - the SETTINGS app/menu crashes in 2 seconds. Now I can't change any of my phone settings!.

  • There's a bug on this phone (Flyme 7.1.2.0G Android 7). When you turn on cellular data, then open Settings, the GPS will automatically active.

  • Otg supported? Wifi 5g supported?

  • disable or turn off smart touch feature so that you can click allow in the permission prompts

  • i got OTA update to Flyme 7.1.1.0G android 7. malaysia set. you need to reset the phone after updates, it not, some apps will force close sometimes. so far good working, battery drain fast if on 4g network, but 4g signal is very good even in weak 4g signal area.

  • Updated to Flyme 7.1.1.0G Update file need to be downloaded manually from meizu official website, file size ±1.4GB Mine have some small issue on permission, have to set manually from setting-apps-permission, the pop up when prompting for permission not working for my case, have to set it manually. It is a good phone so far. Rear camera is not tuned to its finest, warmer colour and in some case slightly darker than it should.

  • Wow... You have 7.1.1.0G ? Mine on Flyme 6.3.1.0G on Android V7.0 only. No update available..

  • Just bought it today. Just ran antutu benchmark, total score is 94308 on 1run. CPU scored 47097 Gpu scored 13156 Ux scored 27491 Mem scored 6294 Aluminium body make it feel premium. Wonder why the battery level ain't dropping after switched on without SIM card, only Wi-Fi since 6hours ago, registered google account, installed few apps, ran antutu benchmark 1time and now typing this comment, battery level still 100% .. Is it broken I wondered.....

  • Excellent little phone

  • Is Flyme 7.1.1.0G last update for this phone? Will it get Android 8.1 or 9.0? I really like this phone, it looks premium for a budget phone. In Malaysia selling for RM389. worth every penny ... 😁

  • About sot, never try it by my own. With cheap price for now, this phone come with fast adapter and cable. Just take 50 or 60 minutes to fully charge. Go for it buddy, worth every penny. About scratch, it can be scratch but not easily. I think it got gorilla glass 3 on it. 5 will be great, but 3 is ok and usable. Hope this help.

  • Yes, all phone heat up when you charge it. Normal, this phone quick charge was superb. Heat a lil above normal is 'normal'.

  • This phone with android 7 was good enough. Games, pubgm can play it smoothly with high framerate. Although the game itself set medium for graphic but phone Gpu was not great. After upgrade network reception inside building back to normal. Face unlock feature and many more. Dont hesitate mate, this phone got a real fast charging tech. Go for it.

  • so is this phone good after firmware update? plan to buy.

  • It is normal when you charges your phone getting hot??? or i just mine...please

  • an update is greatly apprrciated. i just received mine. so far my first impressions are just alright. flyme UI could use a little work on. camera app too.

  • Just updated my phone to Flyme 7.1.0G So far no issues and seems like the app crashing issue has been resolved. But its only been 24 hours since I updated my phone. Need further testing to confirm this.

  • Hello, i want to know about screen of time on this phone based your usage daily, please tell me detail with list of app you used. How about the screen, is it easy to scratch ? Is this phone come with fast charging adapter ? . Thanks for ur answer

  • How to activate led indicator?

  • @justinjones similar to mine.. 1 month passed with this phone (ex Compact Flagship owner) this phone is my fav phone from all my previous phone(Apple and Sony flagship can't be this smooth!) coming from Apple and Sony make me quite impressed with this phone Battery tho i'm buying this phone for a secondary phone, but now I feel my other flagship phone looks like a glass covered junk and use this phone for every use (I never using camera so i can't score the camera) btw this Phone come with Face Unlock (also never tried it too lol)

  • So here's my experience with this phone I've been using this phone for nearly a month now, I got this phone not too long after I sold my RN4 (MediaTek ver.) and noticed that a 18:9 display phones got cheaper (anything without notch, honestly). I initially haven't decided which phone should I go for until I came across this Meizu phone and noticed the (rather gimmicky) side-mounted fingerprint scanner and metal body and I was like "hey, this looks interesting," so here I am now I'm well aware about the downsides, such as 720p screen (which looks about alright for a screen of this size but certainly not everyone's favorite), a rather modest battery (even with 14nm chip the endurance still feels average on a 3000mAh battery), a Mali GPU (they should learn from X****i for choosing PowerVR in their Redmi 6/6A), the UI doesn't feel as lively as MIUI (personal opinion) and unlikely to get an OS upgrade. But the phone does run smooth and the AnTuTu score reached 90k-ish which says something For the most part this phone does me well and has been my daily driver now (quite ironic for someone that could've afforded last-year flagship phones whose financial says otherwise), especially the build quality which is my priority. My previous RN4 had the same charm. Because as far as I noticed, the likes of RN4X and beyond have this slight diagonal bending which is a factory defect and not something the service center will notice, let alone fixing it, and I don't want a phone that triggers my OCD everytime I look at it

  • In term of get android update, is this phone so fast in it ? And how long the android update guarantee for m6s ? Because i like this phone and want to try 9.0 pie

  • disable or turn off smart touch feature so that you can click allow in the permission prompts

  • turn off smart touch. that prevents you from clicking allow in the permission prompts.

  • m6 note. More better in all aspect. m6s battery drain fast although the charging time was only 35min for 61% battery. m6s was a great phone. Only battery is bad.

  • m6s selfie better than m6 note in term of image quality.

  • good for listen to music or play games. But not good in term of communication.

  • How about speaker quality?

  • may i know your firmware version sir?

  • may i know which version you are currently using?i just bought the phone and it preloaded with flyme 7.1 version, but some default apps keep crashing and freezing.it is getting worst when the camera apps is forced to close due to temperature.i did downgrade to version 6.3 but the problem still persist..please reply sir..

  • After upgraded to flyme 7.1.0 all the problems had solved. No more battery draining for the wechat app. Most importantly the navigation and multi task become so smooth.

  • hell what?? gsmarena spec was front glass n aluminium body lol! Do some research next time...

  • Hell no mate

  • you mean such as gorilla glass? i guess not unless you apply 3rd party screen protector on it. here's its full details i got from kimovil's website - 1000:1 contrast ratio, 2.5D curved glass screen, 450 cd/m2 Capacitive, LED Notifications, Multi-touch...hope this helps!

  • Does this phone have any protection for it screen?

  • Flyme 7 is a joke!! revert back to 6 and everything back to normal! thank god this device runs on global rom else it will be pain in the a** to perform downgrade/upgrade. M6s is a Very capable device with super low price tag RM399 ($96)! camera result is as good as my current S7Edge during daylight and decently acceptable on lowlight. Although dynamic range could be better but it's ok for a device at this kinda price tag. Batt life is not bad either and i love the built, very solid! weight & size is at comfortable zone although it's very slippery if holding it without casing. overall is a fantastic device. no hanky panky bloatware, not much bullsh*t for themes or this or that...a reliable plain jane at its best.

  • Just got my M6s and it's already FlyMe OS 7. So far so good. Maybe you should perform Factory Reset after you updated your device?

  • You can enable the button to appear all the time in the settings menu. Go to settings > Navigation Bar ? Untick "Hide Navigation Bar" Btw, did you update your phone to Flyme 7?

  • hi friends, i m using this phone last 20 days. I found, in case of dadicated home button, the screen is covering the place, where if I press with little more force, its vibrating. I want to know is it really vibrating or a home switch is there?

  • DO NOT UPDATE TO FLYME 7 severe battery drain and frequent app crashes. Some heating issues as well.

  • Thank you friend, for your opinion.

  • I was on the same situation a week before. I bought the m6note. Performace wise it has some lags and m6s is better in terms of cpu. Now for camera, note that the dual camera is only used for the bokeh effect and does not affect the quality of the photos. m6note does take great photos but i think m6s must be close. But the biggest difference for me is the front facing camera wich is 16mp and offers great selfies. Now if i wouldnt care about selfies i would definitely go for the m6s !!! It just looks amazing and performs better so why not?

  • Hi friend, please tell me which one I should buy? Meizu M6 note(3/32 GB) or Meizu M6s (3/32GB)? Please....Please.... 1. Camera 2. Device performance

  • Does this phone has gorilla glass?

  • I wish Meizu had put in Meizu m6 note specs into M6s body. I have both these phones. For day-to-day use, I prefer the simplicity of M6s but M6 Note has better camera, display, audio and battery.

  • my old m2 note cannot connect tp pc via usb after os update - same problem

  • Only 2 problem with as a Meizu m6s user, first problem with USB connection to PC, secondly cannot click allow instead of deny when app ask for permission, you have to change at settings Everytime... Any of you guys have this problem??? Please share

  • Dont look at CPU when buying a gaming phone but look at the GPU. The Exynos 7872 is indeed looking very powerful. This phone is merely using a Mali G71 MP1 which is a one core gpu. Of course your PUBG game will lag like crazy even at lowest setting.

  • Thanks to Exynos 7872 that make this phone so smooth with the flyme os . for the music and camera not so good but about this price we can accept

  • the code didnt work

  • It's perfect for me. I have incredibly sensitive ears and the volume at low I can hear perfectly. The only part that is con is that I can't connect it to Bluetooth in my Lexus.

  • Hello, I am asking for the sar value on Europe, assuming 10g.? For head and body. Maybe it's in the manual or enter the code in the phone *#07# green earphone

  • Try *#*#3646633#*#*

  • Is it possible to set fingerprint only for aplication, not for screen ?

  • Anyone know how to access the engineering mode in this phone? The speaker volume sounds too low for my taste.

  • So this is Mali G71 MP3? What's the gflops of it?

  • Which is better m6s or pro 7 (mtp25 version)??

  • lagging while play pubg mobile , even on lowest settings , i prefer redmi 5 plus , smooth and high playing pubg

  • I'm confused this phone have nice CPU but worst GPU(Single Mali-G71) than Snapdragon 625(Adreno 506). Who is the winner here in terms of gaming performance?

  • Is there a better phone for gaming than this with the same price; but also have a nice looks(I don't like the iPhone X camera looks)?

  • please launched date in india

  • Aliexpress is selling global version of it for some time now. I am waiting Meizu 15 to come out and see how the screen looks on it and the dimensions of it as of 5.46 inch suits me better then 5.7 inch. This M6s will play better games too that take more resource with no problem i ques. As my 41 000 antutu score phone does play FPS games no problem with it's FHD screen and MTK6750T CPU. While this M6s have better Antutu score then Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus. Something 20 000 more points for M6s. My 5.5 inch screen phone dimension is like 5inch screen phones 143mm tall only. If The Meizu 15 will have smaller dimensions and less bezels and under 200 price i will buy it but when it does not come as how i expect it to come i will go with M6s for sure. I dont play games on my phone but have some simple SP games on it to past time when i am at work and need to wait on something or someone as i work in furniture company as a transporter so i have lots of times in a day when i need to wait for client to arrive so i can deliver the package.

  • I think this is a good deal. I've experienced it for 2-3h hour, the design is so beautiful, perfectly fit in my hand. The UI is smooth, I wonder if it due to powerful cpu 7872 or flyme os. The camera is also a great point. I tested in late afternoon. The auto mode worked fine. Then I tried manual mode. It worked extremely well. The images were so much better than those ones I took by my redmi 5+. In the otherhand, the screen was my biggest disappointment. For those guys who still don't know, exynos 7872 doesn't support fullHD+. HD+ on 5.7in screen is just acceptable. PPI level is almost same as 5.5in HD 16:9 screens. What a pity because fullHD is a standard nowaday. Last thing is battery life. The firmware I used was stock Chinese firmware(flyme A ver). 1h surfing web consumed about 12% battery (brightness 60%, wifi). I guess the mix task onscreen of this phone will be 6h30, not bad for 3000mah. In conclusion, if you want a phone to play game, you should choose redmi 5+(redmi note 5) or redmi note 5 pro (better GPU, bigger screen, high res, bigger battery). If you are just a normal user like me (most time using fb, insta, web, music, sometime play simple game like subways surf or plant vs zombie...) Meizu M6s is perfect. I am waiting to its global ver to replace my redmi 5+

  • wow this seem like a really good phone at the price, for taking pictures and playing games

  • cant edit post so i add one more compare. 110 euro redmi 5 antutu score isnt that good as m6s has.

  • Sony had it back in the 2015 already or even earlier. New models dont have them anymore like no 3.5mm jack. And cost is about right as there is A73 chips in already.

  • I don't believe the 18W charging quality must be flawless so you will face the battery aging faster, if you change phone every year that's is fine.

  • It`s a very nice phone. I`m asking to myself, why they haven`t thought of side-fingerprint scanner before, from the start. It`s an easier and more comfortable way of unblocking the phone. The camera ok, the music good. everything what we need. But of course the price should be at least 120$

  • oh man, this soc just upper 625 a little bit in overall

  • The CPU performance is there thanks to The A73 Dual-Core Processor cluster, but the GPU is severely lacking. It's a single-core Mali-G71 which is decent for casual gaming, but I think you'll be disappointed when it comes to playing some heavy duty gaming titles at 1080p 60FPS. Best to get the Redmi 5 Pro with Snapdragon 636. Or perhaps The Mi Max which has a Snapdragon 652 (I think).

  • Even Redmi 5 Pro can't compete with this phone. This phone has a dual-core cluster of A73s which is clocked at 2.0Ghz. And that brings it closer to Snapdragon 808 and 810 in terms of raw performance. I don't think The Snapdragon 636 stands a chance! But... The Snapdragon 640 with those new A55s and A75s and DynamIQ architecture will surely be able to compete, if not beat with this thing!

  • How should I know? I was recommending it because it offered the best performance at that price point, at that time. But I am changing my recommendation to redmi note 5 pro now

  • Can it run Unreal Engine 4 games smoothly? I mean at least on low or mid graphic settings.

  • you mean resolution?

  • Yes, I would recommend this over a Xiaomi phone because it gets a higher fps in games

  • Have you bought this one, mate? Would you recommend this over, say xiaomi or somehing?

  • It can play game better than any device in this price range for its smaller HD+ resulation wheres other have to maintain FHD+ resulation.

  • It may take a month or 2.

  • Just a awesome phone, when it will be come in Bangladesh?

  • When it will be available at Bangladesh?

  • I am also from India. I am also looking for this phone. Specially this type of budget extra ordinary camera.

  • Is this available in India

  • Nice specs,and it's cheap.Good job from Meizu.

  • it's not 13mp rear camera, it's 16mp. I like that the corners of the screen aren't very round like on Redmi 5 Plus. And Flyme is such a great ROM, I really like it.

  • Micro USB 2 no it is type c

  • Love this chipset. Much better than sd625/630.

  • Nice device, but crazy prices. Currently is on the same price as Redmi 5 plus, but lacks FullHD display and the screen is smaller. If compared to Redmi 5 3/32, it is 30 USD more expensive. I am not sure the CPU compensates this difference. I definetly would chose it over Redmi 5, but 30 USD is not so small difference.

  • it does not have a USB type C connector, just a micro USB standard

  • no Active noise cancelling mic, no screen protection.. as always meizu does, it lacks any important features

  • Good package but gpu is not capable of playing good games at high quality

  • It's because of the limitation of the chipset. The Chipset supports only Hd+ display.

  • why not Full HD? is a great package if it is FHD

  • 3000mAH is the past, and 18:9 is crap.

  • It has better camera than xiaomi 5. Sadly its running old nougat 7 and lacks screen protection

  • Man i have my vibeshot as my second phonme i am using from date of release Moto X4. And i really dont think this phone is better than Moto X4.

  • Dude, i think its time for you to leave your vibe shot. You will love this phone. Its beautiful full metal unibody with premium finish, especially the black one. Better than redmi 5, that still have plastic on top n bottom back. It looks like a high end phone, if you compare it with redmis youll find redmis look cheaper. I believe if we compare it looks with pixels, this phone looks more premium, bcz of it finish on metal and it glass.. Beautiful, fun, and secure ui. its like miui and oppo coloros combined. Better fingerprint position, its time for you to have a phone with fingerprint sensor, you will love it. Back fps is the worst placement for me, i love front facing fps, but i love bezelles screen more. In case you often put your phone on the desk, you can reach fp it with one finger.

  • Guys have you noticed that its using Sammy's exynos

  • Man i am just not sure.

  • I like this phone than Redmi5+!

  • Best new budget phone! Better than xiaomeme

  • One of the best phone in this price segment.New processor is best thing here.Other segments is also perfect.

  • o come on.. you dont know anything do u? that soc there will beat the crap out of sd 625 in terms of power. i cant say about the battery life tho. but mali g71 mp3 on 720p. thats a monster of gaming.. and mind u. please make reading yer hobby. thanks

  • You know nothing about the soc. The cpu is perfect, no shitty mediatek. It has powerful a73 cores at 2ghz, thats more than enough for anything. Its on lpp14nm process. Gpu is new generation mali G71 with MP3 which is very powerfull at least even with adreno 506. And all that for 150 euro, this beats xiaomi redmi 5 which has only 1.8 ghz slow a53 cores , old bluetooth 4.1 and no usb type c. This one has usb type c and blutooth 5.0

  • For a 150 eur phone with 64 GB space and 3GB ram should be awesome. But apart from that Mali as GPU is bad. And the CPU also not very good. Rest of the specs seems ok.

  • Does meizu just enjoy releasing 6 generations of pointless phones with the same or even worse HW than the previous? this is utter shite :D

  • Why most of the cinese phones dont bother about 28 4g?
