  • no, orangutang glass :-)

  • I have had my Meizu MX since roughly May. I bought it when i was in China, so i know that it is not a knock-off. Today the phone just went off and will not go back on. It was fully charged, but it will not switch back on. Can anyone give me some advice on the matter please. Thanking You In Advance.

  • I really want this device. I have M9, once of meizu product and i very statisfied with that because very fast and smooth. I test my M9 with SE Xperia and Iphone 4s then M9 come out for the winner. But for meizu device have two weaknes that i know, 1. If you use internet service then your phone will be hot like burn on fire but not be a problem because i already use it for 2 hour in hot condition. 2. There no LED on this device, many middle-phone already have it then for phone high-end like meizu must have it but don't, this is very dispointed me. Beside that reason i love this device. For earlyer product meizu than meizu MX can be so amaizing beside this phone have good specs i already have experience for meizu device then i trust it. But make me dispointed is in MX no LED again. Came on meizu do something that people want and 1 i foeget please meke your cam more bright. Thanks. I hope my experience help.....^^

  • so far it's a very good phone. Put my iphone 4 on the table and bring this phone everywhere.

  • In China :-) friend was visiting there for his job. and hi Bought it for me... really nice smartphone

  • Hey I'm in China! I've had this phone for some time. This Meizu phone is really great! Trust me, Meizu is much better than any other Chinese cell companies. Maybe Meizu isn't so famous as Huawei or ZTE, but it's the best Chinese cell company.

  • I have it for two weeks already and i enjoyed from it alot. for a reasonable price of 340$ to get a machine stronger than SGS2 !!! Like Like Like...

  • Were did u buy it?

  • The phone is amazing, the battery is its weakest point, but i guess most dual-core android phones have this issue. This is not a cheap clone but high-end device that will make your friends jealous. I got mine for 399USD + , it goes now for 389USD + shipping from www.meizumxon.com Highly recommended!!

  • I'm from Argentina and pay $ 470 in www.liaow.com. Truly an excellent phone highly recommended.

  • iPhoners gonna hate.

  • All iphones are Made In China!!

  • Why is everyone giving its opinion based on what they read on the web? Sheesh, you can't know much about ANY phone unless you actually had it or used it for a certain amount of time. I've used many phones (part of job) that people bash all the time, and actually found them quite good. Oh and, ''Chinese manufacturer'' remark of Meizu MX is not a reason for it to be waaaay cheaper than the rest of phones in its range. Chinese copies - non-branded products for short-term use. ZTE, Pantech, Meizu products - products that came from an established brand on country level (even thouhg Meizu is in its own league hands down).

  • Is the screen gorilla glass????

  • Man I been looking at phones for awhile now...and I recently came across this china phone today!! I MUST say this phone has AMAZING specs for a china phone! If any of you here know about specifications then you will agree that this phones specs appear to be top notch.. would buy it any day over an iphone and yea im serious too..

  • Than why you bought 2..

  • i really want to get this smart phone like this were can't i find or dealer about and get this set on . aim leave in Malaysia. i love of size and about it

  • I want to say is this mobile phone no matter from the data entities are great. He is not the so-called junk you, although now it is famous degree of very small, but remember it is Chinese own brand, have no right to say his imitation of apple. They just do the world a Meizu, do Chinese apple. The mobile phone has a pleasant to hear this name, dream

  • nice phone, i m using it and its great and much better perfirmance then any other phones. Buy it, your money will not be waste.

  • Just because the phone is made by a Chinese company doesn't mean it is a super cheap phone. Meizu makes wonderful phones. This is a true world phone and can be used in any country. They also have a special orientation patent. They are not a cheap company like ZTE. They make really good stuff.

  • has any body tried, give me some opinion?

  • Its to much expensive as a Chinese phone, whatever are its specifications. With that money I would buy Lumia 710 + Lumia 900 and both unlocked.

  • The best phone I ever had! For the ones that think is like iPhone - it has nothing to do with iPhone, oh and its much better than iPhone in every aspect.

  • complete copy of iphone

  • This phone looks so much like an iPod touch from the front.

  • I bought two of these phones (hongkong version) Wifi reception is very bad. Phone heats up too much. Video playback is very bad even though specs are so high! And there are no custom ROMS out there yet without which there is really no point to have a rooted Meizu. I really had high hopes for this phone as I travel to China for business a lot and really like Chinese products to perform.

  • id rather get mytouch 4g than this one.. boom!

  • OS : Miui android :P

  • Woww :) nice design

  • when is this model coming out in malaysia..pls advise

  • Why the battery is only 1600! at least 2000 with this resolution

  • better design than crappy iphone.

  • in india it is not available..you will have go through e-shop belongs to china mainland.

  • where can i buy this in inida??

  • Bought it at the Meizu store in Hong Kong. Apparently the Hong Kong version is $100 cheaper than the Chinese version because of lower import taxes or something. Downside is the Chinese version gets updates quicker than the HK version, other than that... no difference

  • where did you buy it. i am really interested. i am going to buy it. can you tell me where did you get it for $350

  • where did u buy?

  • Do you know about the SAR levels? and something else, where do you buy it 350$ because i'm interested in.

  • I have been using it since launch and it is absolutely the smoothest running android I've ever used. trumps any phone samsung or other big brands have to offer. I've had no force closes on anything just yet which is amazing for an android device as well. The screen and colours are amazing as oppose to super amoled + over saturated crap or the yellow tint iphone screens offer. I can go on and on about it but bottom line is, definitely worth the $350 US I paid for it

  • Does anybody have a practical experience in using MX. Seems to be ok but anybody used it for a while a month or less that has his own opinion on use, bugs, ect. What about the support is proper or not?

  • You can get it on DealExtreme.com for 537.99$ + free shipping worldwide!

  • Using M8 from March 2009 till today, skipped the M9 to get MX, and I will ( A Meizu fan from beginning - M6 music player)

  • May I know when this phone is launch im Malaysia? I really admire the phone and i'll buy it no matter what as I am using Galaxy Note and S2. I am really waiting for it to be launch in Malaysia.

  • iphone clone or whatever, I don't care... I love these specs, design and affordability... Great job done by Meizu...

  • im amazed on the specs of this phone i think meizu doesnt care if they will be banned outside their country, china's population is enough for them to make money. china has their own laws and apple cannot just ban this phone on their country rightaway. lol...

  • well almost every company has its scheme when it comes to copying other products design or system, but that's not the real issue, what really matters is if that certain brand or product delivers what they promise in their propaganda a or ads, at a reasonable price. as long as it labels it self as its own and not imitating the other brand's name, performance matters ! if its a copy or not, let them have a healthy competition, let the new comers compete with the giants so we could have more choices and avoid a single brand monopolizing its market and dictating the price, after all its up to us consumers if what would be the best product that would fit us. more choices, less prices, and they will be oblige to create newer and cooler technology or systems.

  • there is very little on quality or customer support both matter for premium markets. As for looking like an iphone this is uncertain as most smart phones look the same and after five years look like industry standard design. Will it succeed? not as the package exists now outside home markets presumably software updates won't be available to stave off security risks.

  • You know, I have to show respect to this phone. Good specs, its Android, its not afraid to show its inspired by an iPhone. Its to say "we're an iPhone copy, and what?". Unlike Samsung who BLATANTLY copy the iPhone design but are in denial, and would rather take the time to try and sue Apple for anything they can possibly try to on. If I was to buy an Andorid, id take a risk with this phone. China make iPhones, hopefully they can make a decent phone out of this as well.

  • China hitting the mobile market... possible iphone will sue meizu on the rights and ban thm frm entering the markeT?

  • Does this phone works on Brazilian networks?

  • If you look closely in the physical appearance if this handset in some area there are similiraties in iphone handset but it much more wider screen special in the vessel it much more thinner than iphone and it also the body are plastic made. The specs of this device is good but the risk to buy this handset is do they provide the warranty of their handset if there's something wrong happen because China produced handset had some issues in the materials they use in their handset like the touch screen, signal, battery, headset, charger, buttons like volume and menu and so on. And aside for that also the support for the operating system of the device if they provide such those things in this handset and in their upcoming handset they have a good future in mobile arena.

  • Maybe if Meizu change the color of this phone maybe they will no longer judged or categorized as Iphone 4/4s copy and paste or copy cut.

  • dear gsmarena, If you do the math, a resolution of 960x640 at 4" makes the screen wider than the one in galaxy S2. But since meizu mx body width is only 63.3 means its thinner even agianst the width of galaxy S1! Unbelievable that a screen wider than on S2 fits in a body thinner than S1

  • from wher & hw can we get cheaper cells?? Reply soon...:)

  • In response to your question, yes Samsung has been found guilty of copying Apple products in the Netherlands. They had to modify their products to resume sales.

  • And I'm not sure why the Meizu being cheaper in the black market isn't the point when the context of our conversation involves comparing the pricing of the two phones. Of course it's important!

  • I was referring to mobile sites when I noted the ~$530 price for the GS2 back then. I'm sure it's even more expensive in stores. I didn't look into the black market prices for the GS2 because as I said, you can use the same argument for why the Meizu can be even cheaper than what everyone outside the market lists it for. Thus, the price difference would remain.

  • Sun: First, I never agreed with you. You said you can get a GS2 for cheaper than that using "grey market" ways and "economic agents". I simply ignored what you said and said the Meizu is cheaper anyway. That's not the same as with agreeing with you. Second, as I said (but was deleted), you can use the same methods to get a Meizu so the price difference remains. Third, those examples you gave of using "economic agents" to get these discounts aren't commonplace. It's great you can get them but for the vast majority of people, it's not viable especially if you want warranty.

  • LOL he reported all my comments

  • Well now we can get Apple's design with android's performance !

  • I had Meizu M8, Meizu M9 currently use, both phones are great compared to the price they have. As soon as it went on sale Meizu MS and take it.

  • Dont say anything man, Sun looks mad at you. you need to take care, he might just be the director or still better the owner of this phone manufacturing unit...LOL

  • Another matter.....you're also a hipocrite!....You stated that you can't get a SG2 for less then 530$... I showed with examples that you buy it with 380-400 if you know where to look! You reluctantly said that Meizu costs a lot less enyway....Of course you could get Meizu for about 200 but that's not the point!.....I showed you that YOU CAN buy an excellent device for far less that it costs in the stores!........

  • Only valuable opinions are kept here...waist is deleted....Like every domain where big money is rolled around,in the mobile business there are many ways to buy phones...not everybody buys from official stores...many resort to phone dealers from the black market, others resort to mobile phone sites....you wouldn't believe how many people in the world bought their phones in this manner...But I 'm pretty sure you're too close minded to understand!...

  • Its funny how a lot iPhone users slag off Samsung, but forgetting many parts (hardware) for the iPhone is made by Samsung.

  • This phone is Apples Curse....hehehe.... China is almost 1.5 billion and that market is enough for the company...

  • Nice copy of iphone dude!!

  • You keep barking one stupid argument after another! Has Samsung been found guilty by a court of law and ordered to pay conpensation to Apple for copying their products?....No! There were some temporary bannes on Galaxy products but all of the decisions were overturned in Samsung's favour! And Apple will lose in the end!

  • Let me enlighten you on another matter that you don't know....You can get a SG2 with 350 throught very legal means.....You think that Vodafone,Cosmote,Orange and the other worldwide networks just go to Samsung and order 1000 SG2 units like you order from a restaurant? No! That is the distributers job! There are companyes who have contracts with the manufacturers and are their legal representatives in that country....they buy the phones and then sell them to carriers!.....The prices are 30-40% bellow the prices that the carriers sell them to clients!...The thing is that a private person can't buy from them....you have to be a registered economic agent to buy....And I have such friends!....You don't know enything about the tricks in the mobile business!...

  • Quote....."the cheapest i've seen SG2 is 530$".....Now you changed your mind and realised you can get it much cheaper?.....Are you living in a third world country and Ebay is banned out there?....That would explain how you don't realise that there is a gray market out there?..Don't know what it means?...Let me explain it in simple terms so you understand....There are sites that throught obscure ways manage to purchase phones at a very low price and can afford to sell it below their market value and still make proffit!....As for the iphonish look.....are you visually chalanged or simply you're not a very bright boy?....I would place my bet on option two....The thing is just an iphone clone....!.....

  • they did not give all specs as sgs2 cause cina is no 1 in population, and they cannot overdose everyboby.

  • Very special copy and paste, I don't want a copy style

  • You can get the GS2 for 400 euros? Congrats. You can get this for 300 euros. lol. The GS2 does NOT go for 350 euros on any online store. Period. This thing doesn't look like an iphone anymore than the GS2 and you know it. To claim otherwise is lunacy and bias.

  • WOW Looks as good as an iphone, and works as good as an s2 + cheaper then both!! Me gusta!!

  • Meizu, Phone looks good as well as the specs. Just make sure software update are made available as frequent as possible. Body material wise, make sure that they are the best quality. In case your phone sells like hot cakes, think about the design, design something different or APPLE will be after your back. Remember this comment.

  • it;s a real copy of iPhone 4/4S apple should stop it's selling and producing before any work they have!

  • Huawey and ZTE have proved that the chinese companies are able to produce decent phones without copying more from others than the famous brands do .....I can't understand why Meizu choose this Iphonish look instead of going for a more conservative look!...

  • You can get a SG2 for 400....And without searching too much! In my country it's price in official stores is around 420 for an unlocked device, while on the gray market(online stores) and phone dealers is around 350.I thunk the same goes with many other countries....Remember that SG2 is not a new product....As for this this phone I doubt that it will be launched outside China....to say that it resembles Iphone would be an understatement......Apple this time would have every right to sue them! And even if by some miracle Meizu would evade the legal issues and launch it outside China,in this price range it would have to compete against the middle-upper end phones of the established brands!...Do you think costumers would choose Meizu against Samsung,Nokia,Apple,SE etc when they are evenly priced?...Joe is right...the only chance for this phone to have an impact is to be priced around 200-220....! More than that it would not have eny succes!....

  • Seems great as a beginner SmartPhone manufacture. It doesn't matter whether it's Chinese or Japanese or even Bangladeshi, the matter is whether it is good or not. ;)

  • Nice king but Other potential target of law suit from Apple

  • This is a strong phone. It has great specs!!

  • 1) You made it sound like you thought it could be priced near the GS2 which is wrong. 2) There were some bugs but Meizu provided support unlike companies like Samsung and LG.. 3) Again pretty big assumptions. 4) You don't understand the main Chinese smartphone companies (or even the MP3 player companies of past). They develop for nerds and put in loads of customization options for that reason. They do not go for simplicity or mass market.

  • Wait till people reviews it... 1) Meizu claims the Exynos 4210 in it runs 1.4GHz, but review units are locked at 1GHz... they did provide a new kernel to let the CPU runs faster, but that is provided u set the phone at "Performance" mode... reviews show that it runs noticably hotter and shorter battery life @ 1.4GHz... 2) Meizu has not been good at customizing Android after so many years, even among the Chinese community between this and MIUI's Xiaomi, i rather get the latter...

  • Reply to Anon who wrote 3 different posts as a reply to my post (didn't want to do the same): 1) You missunderstood something I said about pricing, not sure what. 2) Before you start talking about reliability of a product do some searching and see that it took Meizu a year of software updating to get it to work properly on their last phone. That's on par with LG. 3) The price you mentioned, 400$ (300) is the price in Hong Kong. In mainland China it's 470$. If it remains at 400$/300 when it reaches EU/US I will seriously consider buying it myself as I need a new phone but I highly doubt it and expect the price to be more around the China value if not higher and in that case it's much more viable to buy something proven and similar in specs like the SGS2 for about the same amount. 4) I doubt a company markets a product to "gadget nerds". I'm fully aware of the specifications of this phone and if the pricing is right (same price like in Hong Kong or cheaper) this could be one of the bestsellers of 2012.

  • Oh and by the way, this phone uses a lot of the same components that the GS2 uses (amusingly) like the Exynos. The gadget nerds that actually take a look at this thing likely won't give a damn if it's "Chinese" or not unlike yourself.

  • By the way, this is $400 US off contract $400 US. The cheapest I've seen the GS2 at is $530 US. This is one of the best smartphone deals to come out in a long time.

  • You absolutely CANNOT get a GS2 for the same price bud. Not to mention Meizu products are very well respected for being reliable in China. I can't say the same with Samsung with the latest Nexus debacle.

  • Stop crying! Apple is the one who copied first from Samsung F700

  • Just today i came to hear about this brand through Gsm arena.. Look @ the below link for this mobiles official look

  • No one will give 400 for an unknown and unproven brand that is on top of that Chinese regardless of how good it is, especially since they can buy something that is proven like the SGS2 for the same amount and the difference in specs is not that big anyway. The only way that this phone can do anything on the market is if it comes very soon and it doesn't cost over 250.

  • iPhone ripoff.

  • i love it

  • nice will buy if goes for 400 euro here in finland.500 tops

  • its a chinese company with a chinese phone and a custom interface may god help this phone
