T-Mobile Pulse - User Reviews

  • please I don't have radio on my phone..Please can you help me out ?

  • In it's day the pulse was a great phone. Cheap to buy and fully functional. I have owned this phone for over two years and it has been very reliable and robust. They only problem was that the last official Android was 2.1, no further updates were released. The community then took it on and came up with several roms. I have moved on now cos the processor is just too slow to run recent apps quickly. One of the best phones I have owned!

  • Wonderful first generation phone, has taught me so much about android. If you want a supercomputer go buy a Samsung SIII, otherwise, incredible functionality and lasting power after 3 years still looks good and still being developed for including ICS rom versions on modaco.com site, though with its limited 105mb RAM you will be hard pushed to get snappy performance from Gingerbread and newer rom versions. Highly recommended if you just need a cheap, solid, entry level smartphone

  • This phone is the worst. Bad camera, lags, bad battery, no memory. It only has like 15MB of application memory. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!

  • Where can I get new battery for my handset in Ghana.

  • nice cell phone with wifi and countless apps.... touch is not bad... u can buy it... frnds what u pay for dis phone... rply...

  • i have a t mobile pulse and i have to say it is not that good the touch screen lags and its only got a 512mhz processor and a 3.15mp camera so keep with the phone you have or get a iphone

  • no radio ??!!!!!!!! and 8.4 on voting..??? just don't tell me.. whats going on with the companies.. somewhere no secondary camera, somewhere no something else.. c'mooonn be serious..

  • is it worth to exchange my sony ericsson satio with a t-mobile pulse or is it better toc hange witha samsung galaxy 551 which phone is better i hope u can recomend me the best phone? iam wating for your answers

  • Great entry level android phone, very cool and nice screen. Internet a bit slow, camera quality is poor and the touch screen is a bit unresponsive, but other than that a great phone, well worth the money. However, can only go up to Android 2.1, which is a real shame as would have liked wifi hotspot and flash. Also, for a little bit extra you can get far better phones, such as the HTC Explorer, and for £150 the Xperia Play from dialaphone.co.uk Pros: high quality feel, large screen, low price Cons: poor camera, better phones available, only Android 2.1, slightly unresponsive screen Rating: 3.5/5

  • wud prefer buying htc wildfire, better features nd less cost.it does not have a flash or a radio, everything else is good!!!

  • how do i unlock my pulse from screen lock.have tried downloading the 2009 november software but it seems the file has been removed from t-mobile site.please i need help

  • my t-mobile pulse has locked me out with screen lock, depending for gmail.i have tried putting the right email and password but it still wont open.i decided to hard reset by downloading the november 2009 software from t-mobile forum.but it wont come up,it like d file has been removed..pls help, how do i download the file or unlock my phone?

  • nice

  • How do you get the phone to install live wallpaper ?

  • live wallpapers runs but not smoothly.

  • No video call

  • For that price you'll never get the features this phone have. Camera is not as good as expected and a lack of colors might be a minus but still not so bad at all. With this phone you get GPS ana WiFi along with 3G. Simmilar phones with these options cost at least twice

  • were to found free navi fore t-mobile pulse i mean gps, plsss send me a link,im update new 2.1 but i dont found to see free tv, need flash player, pllss help me whit this ...

  • verry cool and handy

  • Nice

  • I have the latest android 2.1 upgrade. Yet live wallpapers will not run on this phone. Help anyone ?

  • No,it has 16 million colors

  • Odd that t-mobile havekind of re-released this phone, it was good in its day, I paid £200 for mine, liked it last year, but things move on. I see its £79 on payg in selected outlets, maybe the pulse mini was just not as good, well i correct that its not as good period. If you think about it the ZTE blade is this years pulse equivelent, but MUCH BETTER (Get one with the amoled display before they are gone, they are reverting to lcd!!, £99 with a 480x800 AMOLED Display), still I raved about how good they were before GSM Arena anounced this model (aka Orange San Francisco). Please do not dispair the pulse IS GOOD, great screen etc provided you got on payg NOT CONTRACT

  • Does this phone realy has 65k screen, and is it good?

  • I am not impressed with O2. Contracts, customer service etc are as bad as other networks. All the networks are poor. O2 are below avrage.

  • We brought 5 T-Moblie Pulse phones and they are crap, not a very good phone and service, the T-Mobile company is one of the worse place where you would go to buy phones and do contract with them, once your their customer they they start to rip you off and get more money out of you. Never ever by mistake if your in contract never do direct debit as they start to charge you doubble. I would say the best place to buy phones and keep in contract would be O2 and 3 stores, they migth be slight expencive but they are very good in service and high quility products :)xxxx I love O2 as I'm going to go back to them as soon as possible. xxx

  • nice

  • if it is still under gurantee. take it back to t mobile and ask them to fix it.

  • i've tried to upgrade my Pulse (huawei) by instruction from Modaco & T-Mobile site, then now my Pulse CANNOT boot and always restarts till end of battery. until this moment i can't use this mobile phone. thanks in advance for value comment to make my Pulse re-life again.

  • use the official t-mobile website on a proper computer to download the update file, then follow the instructions.

  • where can you update the software tho? cos my android market doesnt work and they said its cos the software is old.. thanks for replies

  • it dose have a front camera if you turn the camera on and menu button it give the option you are so dumb you should not write thing if you do not now jack

  • I have one and it does have a secondary camera, just to the right of the speaker at the top when you are looking at the front of the phone. You can see it in the photo.

  • since i updated to 2.1 the phone is much slower.

  • not tv out

  • The phone has 2.5mm jack, not a 3.5mm one... The specifications should be updated...

  • that is for T-mobile Pulse-mini not for Pulse

  • Here is the link to update your Pulse to 2.1 which I have done and haven't looked back. enjoy this link is to the official t-Mobile UK site with directions.

  • xxx you have to go to pulse.modaco.com and you can find everything there. The battery holds for 2-3 days

  • garmin for this fon or...dont have?

  • what do you think? My fireware is 1.5 ... whether to updating or not? Аnd where and how to do it?

  • please tell me ... how many days the battery holds? and whether this is a better phone or t-mobile pulse mini? thanks...

  • is the screen cover on the device still? because dust gets cought under it. just peel it off and see if that helps ;)

  • you need to calibrate it. im not sure how to do it on android handsets but you will be able to do it some how, it may have something to do with the fact that you have android 2.1 on it, when its meant to run android 1.5 instead.

  • this mobile only has a 2.5mm audio jack not a 3.5mm audio jack, and it does have a secondary camera.

  • Downloads are on Android Market website. You can also download it to your phone, so you can get downloads straight from you phone.

  • I havi this phone for about 5 months and i update it on the 2.1 official but the phone is having a lag.It stops on every five minutes for a "break" of 10 seconds then goes back to normal.I would also like to have the froyo update but official

  • To download games for any Android mobile you need to go to the Android apps store. Here you can download (free of paid) games and other apps

  • Please Anyone of T-Mobile Pulse user!!! I've got this device for few week ago, but I can't find the site for free downloading of games and apps. Where to get the forums for this flatform?

  • Do i need two pay for its OS Android.......in future..??

  • Lol unfortunately this phone has no option to calibrate :\ , if it does let me know because i cant seem to find it anywhere :\

  • Official 2.1 Android for Pulse on "http://www.t-mobile.hu/lakossagi/keszulekek/szoftverfrissites/telefon/pulse_21" T-mobile Hungary. Translate on your language on google translate. Enjoy :)

  • yes as it will be the cheapest from t-mobile shop and you can get some free stuff with the phone

  • try calibration. it usually helps if the touch screen has gone weird or unresponsive. :D

  • I have this phone and after months enjoying it,The touch screen has become really unresponsive, whenever i touch a certain part of the screen,a random application may open up or it might just randomly touch another part of the screen, basically the touchscreen SUCKS!,i do not know why now,it used to work fine, now it is just terrible, really angry because I have android 2.1 on it and i love the big screen and the phone just looks great,Any Help on how to fix the touchscreen would be appreciated! :D

  • I don't know if this will help, but try going in to settings, about phone, there is a box with "USB mass storage" next to it. Check that and then go through your pc again. If not, you can always buy a card reader off amazon for a few quid :-p

  • i cant understand how can i put my pictures on my pc with a usb cable from my PULSE? HELP!!! ,,,on the CD is yust a sinhronization tools for contacts i cant figure it out please HELP!!!!

  • Android 2.1 on T-Mobile pulse, yes it is possible. I installed Android 2.1 on my Pulse but there is not official. Android 2.1 on Pulse works just great. Search a little on the internet. ht tp://android. modaco.com/ category/ 413/ t-mobile-pulse-pulse -modaco -com / First delete the spaces. Sorry for my bad English.

  • Also the pulse mini is running 2.1 so I'm assuming it is possible

  • Where did you hear that? Cause I've been reading up on a few gadget websites that it will be coming out soon, and seen a youtube clip of a pulse running 2.1

  • No, you can't. Huawei promised an update to 2.1 but rumour has it, it won't be possible since phone has too little memory and space for 2.1 I've also read that T-Mobile no longer distributes the model. (?)

  • can i update this phone to 2.1 if some one could tell me i want to buy it thanks

  • Oi I work in a mobile store and we can tell the difference between accidental dmg and warranty faults. don't advise people to go in and shout at the poor consultant that'l have to deal with them a) its unfair on that consultant who will be doing the right thing by saying no b) its unfair on the customer who will have to be embarassed when he doesnt get his way. leave it out.

  • Its CIF @15 fps ..CIF is 352 x 288 pixels..

  • hey what do u think is better? pulse or the palm pre plus? plz replay with ur opinion

  • please tell me video resolution?

  • should i get the pulse from t mobile?

  • your right,,sat at home in good surroundings everything is great and cam/vid is so so but out in the real world its a nightmare for me ...It could be me as i continually have trouble out in the streets with touchscreens,,the nokia n97 lost me a job..Pulses capacitive screen is nice bright and sensitive,,its my first android fone and enjoyed it..I also found the sound quality really dynamic thru senheisers but i want a new fone instead of e72..I got updates nearly everday on my apps and big update from t-mobile website..Android to me is still a way off till it sorted out and v2.1 in nexus 1 is causing some charging problems and they are hoping froyo solves its bugs but cant see it.. cheers Ludwik hope you get out of pulse what you need i had no probs with it just what put above but cameras are not good from htc/huwei still and me having trouble with touchscreens is fine to other people..

  • Take it back to the shop and demand that they either replace or repair it. Do not tell them you bent the charger!

  • Sorry to hear you've sold the pulse. It has it's good points: Fast web browser, excellent kinetic scrolling and super-fast GPS. Video, Still camera and voice calls. Substandard! No mobile phone is as good as a top quality digital camera. My favourite is the Panasonic TZ3, 10X optical zoom, Effective image stabiliser and top Quality lens.

  • Sold pulse now its not good taking a foto of an real use at all so will not replace my everyday fone..it would be embarrasing catching a good shot that could gain you some money when my e72 wil..Getting N8 or samsung beam next when they are out or x10 if it gets a good update altho speaker is awful..

  • This phone is great but i have recently had troubles with this phone,it would not charge until i tried bending the charger while it was in the phone,The usb port on the phone became loose and went inside the phone,i cant get it out, any ideas on getting it out or should i go to the t-mobile shop(hopefully wondering if they'll even fix it or not,i have 1 year warrantee too), its bothering me because my battery is dead and i cant charge my phone anymore! HELP THANKS! :)

  • I agree with you. Only phone geeks visit this site. So I am a geek! big deal ! Normal people visit porn sites! Anyway, the t-mobile pulse is a very good phone in some areas. Decent web browser, very fast, good text reflow. Lacks full flash. But if one needs flash, go to a normal computer. The GPS is the most sensitive of any phone I've tried.

  • its a brilliant fone and nowt to do with votes,,just because apple has low votes then nobody has bought an i-phone??? What this fone does is seriously good and good price..The cams not too good but these are fones anyway and have not crashed it yet which is odd really..Theres only a few hundred people on gsm anyway and only 2 people i know use it,its a talk site really and thats it ..people on the street dont visit fone sites only the geeks and most people only buy a fone for its looks the geeks of the fone world are about 00.1 % maximum only geeks care about this site like me..stupid comment and i suppose its YOU voting this down when you should be voting for your fave fone if your concerned..Nobodys rigging anything only in your paranoid head..

  • Sorry to differ from you but this is the best phone in its price range. I own one of em and also i own x10, and tmo pulse comes up pretty good with comparison. Cmon mate what more can you expect in 140 quids??

  • Wtf..? This is honestly supposed to be the 3rd best phone in the market?!? What rot. So who out there is abusing the GSM Arena website and vote rigging to promote such 3rd rate handsets? :-(

  • the specs are inncorrect: the phone HAS a secondary camera on the front side

  • How to set my phone to ring all the time loud becouse now the ring start loud very short and after lose ringing and continious only vibrate?

  • when u fone to put on credit or u have tto use dialpad etc to get to it u have to double tap screen to unlock. Is this true of all android fones?

  • U will find pulse has same spec as htc hero and is still on v1.5 as well but half the price, pulse has the bigger screen

  • Got a t-mobile pulse 149.99 GBP plus 10 top up..Its taken a fair bit of indtruction to get set up and still playing around with it till battery flat..Then giving it charge overnight 12-16 hrs.. First impressions are good but biggest surprise is its got a 1500mA lithium polymer battery Japan made finished in China..This what i got in box phone obviously Ac battery charger USB data/charging cable Wired stereo headset 2.5mm 3.5mm audio adapter cable Protecting pouch,,(velvet outside with spongy inner and T-Mobile logo,) Quick start guide which was very important for me.. CD with pdf user manual & sync software 2GB micros sd card .. I am using the 2gb sd card with video and some songs to test pulse..Audio thru my cx300 senheiser is very good and my qvga video plays fine..THE supplied 2gig card is fast at loading so it must be a class 6 card whereas my sandisk 16GB card is really slow class 2.. I have a big feeling its going to take a while to get used to huge 3.5" capacitive touchscreen never mind starting a new O/S..All seems well and battery is lasting well it was about 50% when i first popped it in and its still their..I am glad i took plunge cause buying nexus one or s/e x10 and finding out i did not like Android would have been a big waste of money but up to now its cool and now the challenge lies ahead which is just what i need..

  • cannot understand themes yet, it seems u have to install some other software ..had it a week and still learning about android as i think it tricky at first..nice fone and gud pricing

  • i had the phone for 5 months and was very happy with it. yesterday i connected it to the 3 mobile wi-fi for the first time. worked fine streaming videos etc. now it has broken down completely. yet both the phone and the mobile wi-fi are made by huawei!

  • have been looking at htc tatoo,,moto dext as an intro to android..I have decided to go for t-mobile pulse on saturday..I was saving for s/e x10 but its a lot to shell out to find out i dont like android..

  • i am new to android and still setting up ,i suppose i am getting used the whole touchthing as well.i have just used the wallpaper supplied..The speaker has got super tonal quality and punchy..Took me about 4hrs to get up and running joining t-mobile and getting google account..

  • I have this phone for a week. And im getting realy nervous 'cus i cant make my wallpaper picture , ive tried everything , but its still so large , What should i do?????!! help?

  • Beats the htc tatoo for spec and price..Great for intro to android just hopetit goes to v2.1.

  • Follow the instructions on the t mobile website to update the software.

  • I have this phone for a week. The software on the phone sometimes can be very slow... i don't know what to do.. Should I update the software ? Please e-mail me [email protected]

  • There is no garmin for android phones yet, but there are other GPS navigations available like iGO, Navigon, CoPilot and Sygic.

  • just install any gps app from android market or use google maps and klick 'my standpoint'. Voila, gps

  • Is it a possible to install GARMIN on T-Mobile Pulse? Please send me a e-mail to [email protected]

  • How to instal gps on my t-mobile puls

  • It is back on sale in the uk. £150 on payg.

  • Is it a possible to install GARMIN on T-Mobile Pulse? Please send me a e-mail to [email protected]

  • I heard that this phone had been withdrawn as a result of an appeal from I-Phone!!!Is this thrue?!?!

  • Do not believe what you read. I havethe phone and it has secondary camera. End of discussion.

  • Forget the gsm specs. I am using the phone. It has a secondary camera which has lower resolution in still and video mode compared to the primary camera. You still cannot make video calls. The still camera can take self portrait. The video can be sent in messages.

  • Dude i got the phone and it does have secondary camera

  • HELLO...CAN NONE OF U READ!?!? Except for those who are saything this doesn't have a 2nd cam of course... Camera Primary 3.15 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus Video Yes Secondary No

  • It has secondary camera but you cannot make video calls with it. Just self portrait

  • No it does not. What appears to be a secondary video camera at the front, is in fact a light sensor.

  • Uhm, this phone HAS a secondary video camera.

  • GSMARENA please review this phone!!!

  • How about the battery life??...all kind of use?

  • Hi Spasen, I updated my pulse with the update from T-Mobile. The only every day change i noticed is that the barcoder application is working right. Regards.

  • HI,can you tall me what to do, to wait for 2.0 android upddate or to up date now the update from t-mobile co.uk. TNX

  • Yes, this phone does not have flash light on the camera.

  • To be honest, this is perhaps one of the greatest phones ever made,i dont know why it hasnt been reviewed yet by Gsmarena, but it is a great phone to buy, worth every penny seen as it is Pay as you go,it's a phone everyone should buy,i have this phone and i love it,it isnt too expensive for an Android phone, the only bad things on the phone is that the keyboard can be a bit annoying as your fingers will seem to big for the keys, and also the camera isnt all that, you cannot change the contrast in pictures but that can all be sorted with the Android Market, and also this phone has free internet, thank god for WI-FI!

  • .....phone is very good...no doubt

  • I think it's pretty obvious you have a defective SIM card...

  • Is it true that this phone doesn't have flash light on the camera, because i read about this.

  • I have had nothing but trouble with my pulse phone i am now on my 3rd one and again it has broken and i will have to go through the whole process again of speaking to t mobile and arranging it to be fixed or swopped my first phone couldnt receive or make calls - it just screeched down my ear second phone kept says - no service third phone again no service this comes up when you are half way through calls it just cuts you off - it keeps forcing close on things when you are in them its a nightmare i would advise anyone thinking of buying one BONT BOTHER SAVE YOUR MONEY

  • Have you tried the update on the T mobile web. Mine didnt even work until I updated the software.

  • Bar code scanner app's do not work on my pulse unless I shine a torch in to camera lense. Was sent away but came back with a basic result of bar code reader app's do not work on the pulse! But I can with the aid of a torch.

  • this phone is very good for what you paid ... I think is very effective, why not?

  • Android 2.0 is announced to come to pule in march

  • I had the same problem with the keyboard, I resolved it myself with the android update from the T-mobile website. Everything works fine now :D

  • eb, I certainly have that problem with the headset, but I've got used to it now. In the box there's the phone (obviously!), a pouch-style case, usb cable (also used for charging), three pin USB power adaptor, 2.5mm-3.5mm headphone adaptor, headphones (but they are REALLY bad quality), PC software and the usual user manual etc. Hope this helps :)

  • Weird, when T-mobile stops selling it, Three in Sweden starts. ^^

  • I have heard that t-mobile have stopped selling the Pulse! I suspect the reason is political, Apple are ordering Orange to order t-mobile to stop selling Androids because they are a rival to the IPhone!!!!

  • Hi everyone! I am thinking of buying this phone but have two questions: 1. Does everyone here have problem that music start playing all the time when headphones are pluged in,i read about that! 2. What comes in the box with the phone? Please reply!

  • Yes, the Pulse has full Bluetooth support. It is very difficult to say if it is better than a HD2 because most people do not own both phones. You buy a phone and you stick with it for at least a year, or until it breaks down, or a phone pisses you off so much you can't wait to get a different one!

  • Please help me! Should i buy this phone or htc touch2? Does this phone support bluetooth file transver? Wich one is better? Thanks

  • Just adding to my last post. The Pulse does have Haptic feedback. We have a choice of an Android or Touchpal keyboard. On the Android keyboard, there is an option to have vibration feedback. Also the Pulse has full bluetooth functions. Better then the IPhone!

  • Had the Pulse for a month. Here are the good and bad things about it. I am comparing it to the market leader (the Iphone, the 2008 3G version, since I have access to it.) BAD POINTS: 1) Still buggy, update difficult to download. 2) Street view in google maps poor quality. 3) Alarm clock will not sound, when phone is off! 4) Push/Pop email does not distinguish between unread and read emails (my email was Yahoo). It keeps notifying me of new e-mail, when all I have in my inbox is old read mail. 5) Sometimes will not change between the 3 keyboards and sometimes gets stuck in T+ or ABC mode. Solved this by going to landscape mode, then portrait etc. 6) No Haptic feedback. 7) Android applications of questionable quality. GOOD POINTS 1) Viewing angle of the screen better than Iphone. 2) Web pages load faster than the Iphone(3G version). 3) COST. On PAYG I got it for 137 Cheapest Iphone is 342.

  • had my pulse eight weeks ,Now in for repair for the second time same keypad fault(four weeks).

  • Hi to all of ya... I am owner of T-Mobile Pulse Mobile Phone and i can say it worth every single penny (figure of speech). I am also a beginner application developer for the Android OS. From my experience so far i can say that all of you that have some complaints about the software stuff like the camera's poor settings or anything like that, bear in mind that u can make it better yourself by making another software. The beauty of this phone is that u can change everything in it from kernel to the user level applications. So for example, if i don't like the file manager software i can develop an app that can replace the stock manager with better functions and options and quality of user-phone interaction. To summarize everything...STOP complaining about software it can be changed by everyone with the knowledge of Java programming and just upgrade that knowledge with the Android SDK. Even if u didn't knew Java programming and u know C or C++ programming it's easy to learn Android Application Developing, there are a lot of books that cover this branch of software development. As for the hardware i am completely satisfied with it an have no complaints what so ever. The accelerometer is very precise, the phone is double-louder than my previous phones that i owned, haven't tried the GPS so i cannot comment on that issue, it has video call camera...just haven't found how to use it (silly me :)). The touch screen is better than Nokia's, Samsung's, but not iPhone, well the iPhone's applications are expensive so the iPhone has lost the battle here. The pictures from the camera are great, for those that are saying that they r not good they think that the phone needs to have professional camera like the digital cameras (heloo!!! the phone is not a camera dudes...IT'S A PHONE!!!). BTW, i have the phone is celebrating the 3rd day in my hands and i give him full 10 points on the design, the features and the performance. It's the best phone i've ever used. Thanks all, and don't think "To buy it?" just go buy it u can't be wrong about it, it's awesome phone.

  • Yes there is a secondary camera on front.I have been using Pulse for a month and I highly recommend.I has everything that iPhone has and more, you can download applications for free from android market, same like applestore. The price is excellent, and the quality is superb. Just waiting for upgrade to android 2.0

  • Tried to download the update. It 67.6MB in size. My computer got stuck (Twice) after 48.8 MB. Do not know if the problem is my laptop or my internet provider ? or the t-mobile site ?

  • Have they fixed the bug in google maps streetview where the unzoomed images look terrible on other phones such as the Iphone they look fine

  • I just updated my Pulse from here: (from the "Android Updates" tab) The there was a problem with the bar code reader before. Now the bar code reader works fine. If I notes any difference with the battery live, or anything major I'll write again.

  • Can you please elaborate. I am thinking of downloading the update from the t-mobile site. Is this what you are referring to ?

  • task menager and new os and your phone will go crazy for days :) try it u'll see

  • I am not complaining. Just, saying that the Pulse GPS is very good, but not perfect. My other two GPS enabled phones, fail to get a lock if we have wind or rain! Never mind a snowstorm ! My general experience with GPS in phones is, that atmospheric conditions have a bigger influence than where you are (under trees or indoors etc).

  • Hi Ludwik, Did you try to get a lock with any other phone? If there was a snow storm, I doubt you can get a lock with any phone. Regard, Zlatko

  • until recently, I was very satisfied with the Gps on the pulse. Far, far better than my two previous Gps enabled phones. However, yesterday, during a snow storm. It was unable to get a lock!

  • Nice phone lots of decent features and apps... however I have big hands and cannot get on with the touchscreen especially when texting and no styleos I have found work on this handset not the iphone stylus or a regular stylus

  • this phone maybe a bargain, and you may think junk but no it's actually a fantastic phone. only downside is earphone too quiet and videos not upscaled to full screen nor does it have graphic equaliser in music player, shame. also the virtual keypads not too great for large fingers, otherwise doubt you could find a better general use phone. makes n97 look dated!

  • Have had the pulse for a week now and love it, these smart phones are seriously addictive. My partner got an Iphone the same day and we have compared notes. I prefer my pulse to the iphone, cheaper tariff per month and the huge amount of free applications and the pulse is a lot cheaper than the iphone, you only get what you pay for. So glad I wasnt lured into an iphone contract. Only wish the users manual would have more info on how to copy your music across the pulse.

  • Battery is 1500 mAh, what they are looking to more?

  • I agree with Ogi, if you manage your application the battery can last longer than two days.

  • I have an nokia n86 but just looking at pulse as cheap intro to android to try it out,,anyhow my n86 after 4hrs 20 mins browsing web on edge network and battery is dead so battery is probably fairly good..

  • with ADVANCED TASK KILLER downloaded from android market, my battery last for 2,5 days ...talking,internet etc...you will see that most programs runing and kill your battery....just install Advanced task killer

  • Very poor when playing videos. I tranferred to it some short wmv clips from the internet and a clip taken by a nokia phone. The Pulse refused to play either of them! I suspect we need to buy video playing software from the android market. Since the built in software in inadequate.

  • Cannot choose between this or the HTC Touch 2. Which one would be the best for playing music and videos?

  • How is this phone when playing videos?

  • Finally bought the Pulse, when the Payg price fell to 137 last thursday. First impressions are, this is an Iphone clone, phisically looks the same, feels the same, same size screen and resolution. The call quality is only average, better than some cheap phones I,ve listened to. But not as good as a quality Nokia or my old O2 Zest. The screen does freeze quite often when overused, but comes to life after a 30 second rest. Like the Iphone, the touchscreen only accepts finger input. A stylus will not work. My old Zest accepted both! Screen not very responsive near the sides. problem with 'P' on qwerty keyboard, turning phone round into landscape mode, rearranges phisical screen positions of all letters and solves the problem. Also we have 3 keyboards to choose from in 2 oriantations. Spacebar refuses to work with my fingers but works with thumbs. Is this intentional ? Finally a GPS phone that works properly. Inside the house in, google maps can pinpoint me using GPS in 2 seconds in good weather and 10 seconds in rain outside. My last two GPS enabled phones were very tempramental. The took upto 10 minutes to get a lock, if at all. Streetview in google maps! Good points: You can magnify the images, with two levels of zoom. since the original image has limited resolution, magnifying it leads to some softness and loss of clarity as expected. Same as on a PC. Bad points: The original zoom level in streetview has a bug and the image is poor, very poor! Compared to the Iphone and other phones I've used.

  • same here with the battery. i am not sure if that helps but switching off wi-fi when not in use should help.if not i am going to give a yell to the boys from t-mobile and we'll see what they say.

  • It doesn't have multi-touch!

  • did anyone asked in stores did the battery is only problem because if it is then it should been automaticly replaced??

  • Battery life is not poor. However, like other deviced I have encountered it wont last a whole day if your doing something like browsing the web.

  • Try to copy the mp3's on to the microSD memori card. Maybe there is (on the memory card) some folder called My Music or something. If there is one, copy the mp3's in thare.

  • Can sumeone please help me with this, how do i transfer music from my pc to the phone? thank u in advance.

  • how much does battery go with some usage of phone and how much of fully usage of the phone? compare quality of camera with lesser quality of phone

  • the camera is very very poor and battery life is not good, which is a pity. I wanted to like this phone and chose it over I-phone but beginning to regret it now.

  • YES ONLY this phone is on pay as u go in UK , how good is that ?! It was annonced as first android for masses and now it isn't. How come in UK pay as u go price 176.16 that is 195.0620 and if we see t mobile sites of germany croatia etc. which has mobile phones for that price there ins't puls for pay as u go in germany or other countrys .in croatia price for contract is about the same price as in UK for pay as u go .

  • Starting today t-mobile pulse is available in Croatia

  • Just a quick update. The battery life on the phone is very poor. Does not last a full day. Not sure if this is just my phone? To the person having problems loading music on the phone. The music is downloaded straight on to your memory card. I have not found any software that supports WMA files although a lot of the software say it does. Apart from the poor battery life the phone is great.

  • phone is very good, very good performance. I have it for 1months, not any problems yet, BUT battery is very very weak, maximum 12h while using it for several calls(3-4min)and around 15min internet btw everything is disable gps, wifi, Bluetoot. However, charging by the every night and using all day.

  • i want to bu Pulse and i have one question abuot the battery how many minutes can i talk with full charge of battery - PLEASE IF CAN ANSWERED ME SOMEONE WHO HAVE THIS PHONE THANKS

  • Can someone tell me can these phone play divx/xvid formats through some third party software provider since the default built in player can not. Any suggestions for downloadable software.

  • I find the Pulse a very good all rounder but am unable to load any music on to it, all I get is" can not play this format "

  • Yes - the Pulse does have a compass. The Register specifically mention it in their review here:

  • Will I be able to update to Antroid 2.0? Is the hardware strong to support it? If not, will I be able to update to Android 1.6?

  • i think (read someware and belive it's stated on the box) it's qualqom 528MHz, dont know what platform, and the RAM is 128MB(also not sure- or 96MB)...

  • I can confirm that the pulse has a digital compass. The compass is mentioned in many device reviews including a review from Engadget at

  • GSMARENA says "- 3.5mm audio jack" where as this phone has 2.5 MM audio jack. However 3.5 MM adapter is supplied as an accessory.

  • Read the flowing review: It says: ... GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth are included on the device together with a digital compass...

  • Can anyone confirm if the pulse has a digital compass? I'm in to geocaching and this would be a neat facility beyond the GPS provision - just like the capacitive/resistive screen issue there have been conflicting reports about this facility - thanks.

  • Finally picked one up on pay as you go (uk) on Thursday. I love it. Great phone very good screen. easy operating system. Loads of Applications. Was a bit worried about some of the reviews regarding the sound quality. Ok not the greatest but better than review. The camera is very poor but not to upset about that as I would not really use the camera for real photos. All in all a very good phone for the money.

  • definately bette than getting an htc tattoo...capacitive over resistive...and its a lot cheaper as well!!!!

  • Does anyone know the processor on this phone? This info is not readily available.

  • I think T mobile (uk) is a bit of a joke when it comes to this new phone. All over the web they have commented on it being the first pay as you go Android and yet the only way to purchase the phone is on a contract. Have tried each week since the release date to purchase one with no luck. Not even the staff are aware of a release date. Joke not good T mobile sort it out.

  • Thx for your answer. Is the 2,5mm jack with converter to 3,5mm the same quality as having 3,5mm to start with?

  • I am a bit disappointed that if you look at it all android phones looks pretty much the same, I mean look at www.androphonez.com and see if you can even spot the difference. someone must break the rulez here!

  • pinkllama is correct - it's a 2.5 mm jack. Marin, the screen IS capacitive. I tried it. The review at Trusted Reviews isn't so trustworthy after all. I don't know how stupid one can be.

  • At TrustedReviews they say its not capacitive screen?

  • At TrustedReviews they its not capacitive screen?

  • it has a 2.5mm jack not 3.5mm as stated in the specs. check out the review at trusted reviews.

  • It is now (Oct 2) available in the UK on T-Mobile:

  • It's on the T-Mobile website in the UK - 176.16 on PAYG.

  • The camera on the Pulse is 3.2MP

  • check it out

  • 3,2 MP (not 5.0) !!!

  • You people talk as if you were all shaged by an adroid or maemo

  • if youve read anything recently...maemo is being kept to nokia themselves...and they are not going to be customizing it for carriers at all...and maemo is hardly something that will catch on: nokia has 38% of world market share...if they make maemo REALLY big by some random chance, it will be on 2% of devices in the world... whereas 45% of the world is willing to use android...and currently has 5% mobile market only being 10 months old...this number will continue to grow... maemo is nothing compared to android

  • Are you sure about the 3.5 mm jack?

  • "Android is the best" Sorry, but this isn't anywhere near the truth. It's a simple FACT that Maemo can do everything Android can, and it's more open as well! Ofcourse everyone can have a personal preferance, but you can't even say Android is even close to Maemo. Sorry, dude...

  • There is a couple of vids on youtube of this. Search T-Mobile Pulse
