  • itz 2 and a half years i have been using this phone............i wont say itz a best phone but itz a nyc phone.......in starting i had many problems like hanging, screen response, etc etc but nw after rooting nd applying xoom v-2 custom rom itz gvng d best performance i can say nd is far better than galaxy y also i didn't applied the whole rom instead i also did some mods in it like replaced the stock sony launcher with smart launcher...nd many other things......the only problem i am facing is the battery backup as my battery is now of no use as it has been used 2.5 yrs wt would u expect.....also i didn't got another battery or d dublicate frm anywhere rest my fone is gvng bst performance.....!!!!!

  • I'm using A60 from over one year. Everytime this bluetooth problem is faced. The transmitting of file to a computer starts , but stops in between due to connection failure. so i send the file to other mobile and then from other mobile to PC Earlier, i used to attach a bluetooth handsfree, now when i try to connect, the A60 does not even detect. Dont know what the problem is because bluetooth is working..

  • Dude! it's a value for money. I bought it a month ago, and i have no complaints against the device. The battery backup is good enough for me and i have loads of cool apps in it. The touch is resistive but it's as good as capacitive. The camera is not that much good at night but it works just perfect in the daylight. It's not upgradable to froyo, but friends we can also cyanogen mod this device and run gingerbread in it. I just recommend you to buy this device. :)

  • Hllo sir I bought this a60 three months ago I felt bad for buying this for the first week . Now i became a fan for this a60 really doing well for me solid two days battery back but we have buy a new charger thats all you can compare it with ur friends costly androids.

  • this handset is a cheap android set, but caters for nothing. most of the apps in the market do not run effectively in this set. secondly, the service offered is very poor. in karnataka, we have only one service center at richmond circle and he takes atleast 20-25 days to diagnoze a problem. i had a hell of time with it. the camera does not provide much clarity and the wifi dosent work properly for a phone without camera and wifi, it will not cost 4300 with other os (other than android). so if somebody is keen on doing some projects in android, u can venture. but if u want to purchas a good android mobile go for samsung, htc etc

  • I am using a60 from jan8. If you want an android with low budget you can surely go for it.I got problem with the charger it sucks it wont charge though it displayed charging indicator. now i use another charger head with a nokia USB my prob solved.Now i am using it as a regular phone.

  • Yah its a gud fone but........ while using the apps like gtracing, the fone becomes slow, bt if we look at android version its a cheap fone but you can also go for spice mi 280 or if your budget is good then you can go for samsung galaxy y or pop or fit etc..... bcoz they give you 832 Mhz processor instead of slow 600Mhz processor............. bt over all micromax a60 is a good fone (according to my experience) you can go for it ;-) Just rock.

  • This is a good android phone in this price range. I got it for Rs.5150 with insurance (Univercell). So far so good. I am using internet GPRS, WIFI, Maps very well. Downloaded many useful free apps from market. others like calls, camara are good. Generally, I cannot expect anything more for this price. Just one problem identified so far with breathing lights during alerts. may be i need to get that set right in some settings.. thats it.

  • This is my 4 months experience with this phone and below are my observations: The phone would switch off 2-3 times everyday and would not switch on no matter what button you press. The battery would have to be taken out and put back in everytime. The phone hangs sometimes when you open the dialpad and favourites. The audio is poor. Infact, very poor. The phone would be ringing next to you and you just cant tell if it is. The max ringtone volume is too low. The audio is useless no matter which earphones you use.

  • Hello everyone. It's me sanjay from delhi. I am going to post here my first android experience with Micromax Andro A60. I have bought this phone on 5th of july. before purchasing it, I have read all the opinions here and found most of them against this device. But it could not resist me to purchase this phone. Two reasons are behind this. First my previous micromax experience with q6 is very good. I got more than I expected. Second, of course, the price. I am a man of limited sources and can't afford a branded smart phone. So I bought this phone. When I started using this phone, I found it quite comfortable & above the cost which I spent on it. There is nothing wrong with this device. Everything works fine and gave me a satisfied response. UI is very responsive. Browser works smoothly. You tube plays fairly. Some posters complain that it switch of automatically. I also experienced this discomfort but now it does not happen any more. Second thing, the storage of market application done only on phone memory, not in SD card. But you can store your application files in SD card with the help of link2sd. For that you need to make a partition in your SD card. Camera is fairly decent & gives nice picture in outdoor. Indoor photo shooting is disappointed. Sound quality is okay. Headphone is not up to the level of this device. I need to replace it for listening good quality sound. Battery back up is a drawback but you can fix it up with advance task killer. bluetooth, wi-fi and GPS & A-GPS work nicely. Some times some applications stop responding during running but it is not a big problem. You can wait till then the run. Otherwise just uninstall it and install an alternate one. +ive 1) Cost 2) Camera 3) Connectivity 4) UI 5) Memory (Internal 200 MB) 6) Design -ive 1) Build Quality (Feeling cheap from back cover, otherwise okay) 2) Sound (Good enough to attend call but not as loud to enjoy music) 3) Battery Back up Some helpful & useful applications are: UC browser, Tunein Radio, Power Amp, Advance Task Killer, You Ninja, Dolphin Browser, Best Tube, Nimbuzz, Ebuddy, Facebook, App Installer, Talking Tom.   • bought a Micromax A60 in January 2011. Since then the phone has been a constant pain. It switches off on its own and then one has to take out battery and restart it. It switches off atleast 2-3 times in a day and almost every night. I end up checking whether my phone is still on or not every 5 minutes. It also has problem detecting wireless network even when you are right next to Wi-Fi router. You then have to manually force phone to scan for wireless networks and select one. After couple of months usage battery discharges in couple of hours if you switch on data usage, either wi-fi or 3G. I had even given it to Micromax service center for all these issues but they kept it for 1 month and even after that the phone had the same problems. Now I don't even feel like going back to service center because all they would do is keep it for another 1 month and return it back to me. I would suggest people looking for a cheap android mobile to stay away from this one, as the hassles and headaches you get later clearly take away all the charm of low price tag. Hope this helped

The worst mobile I have ever seen. Me and My phone took this phone. He found fault in charging and he returned it on the same day of purchase and got replacement. My phones touch stopped working in not even a week of use,the brand new phone is under repair since more than 40 days now (Worst service). Once they said it was done(after a month of long wait), but touch was still not working and I didnt took the delivery. Second time they called me that its done and when I went I saw that they were offering me a roughly used refurbished phone (scratched and coating was damaged), (at Prodcon Andheri). I would really advice you guys to spend 1000 to 2000 more and take a nice Andriod of samsung, sony or any other nice brand and live tension free life. If you purchase this phone you will lose your hard earned 7 thousand rupees. I would not purchase a Micromax phone again. Its not worth even for Rs. 2000.

  • Micromax a60 is probably better than nokia 5230...as nokia produces the worst touchscreen in terms of os and user interface...but as far as graphics are considered...5230 wins the race...yet its menu sucks...a60 is better as it has android os nd it a plus point...it has 2.1 eclair at really VERY AFFORDABLE rate...5230 posses a flash nd that too of no use...it gets crashd while click...allover..a60 is better...the only disadvantage in my view is its screen...it jst 2.8 inches...nd thats too is tft resistive..atleast they must have provided capacitive screen...else everything is finer if u charge it while in use at home..lots of apps are available at android market to make u busy...i recommend it...but if u cn add 3,000 bucks..u cn get lg optimus me next month with os android 2.2..its the best phone under 10k available in india..

Now I'm charging it by connecting my mobile in my laptop through usb connection. Earlier I had china mobile (2600 rupees), that was much more better than this phone. This is a rubbish phone. Don't purchase this phone. You will get many good phone at this price in the market from good brand. Nokia, Samsung, HTC phones are much better. OS (ANDROID) - Outstanding is the only word i've got to explaon that. 3. Camera - what more could be expected from a moble which is less than 7K. could have been better. 4. build quality - could have been better. 5. Battery life - turn off wifi & data(3g/gprs) lower the display brightness and u'll get 2 days worth which is not bad. 6. Audio quality (calls) - not that good but not bad. 7. Headphone output - THE WORST. Personal opinion, get POWER AMP player which comes with preamp maximum preamp wud let u hear the music in an avarage way. I'd give it a 7/10 rating

They take around 1 month to repair it. And also i had issues with the earphones that come along with the phone and had to get it exchanged the service center..   • The word finding with Swype typing SMS message was not working properly when the phone was new. I had accidentally used the Factory reset or wipe on the phone. Now this Swype is working very very well. I am pretty sure that Swype was not working properly but I am pretty sure. If you do factory reset your data on the phone will be lost, so you have to backup SMS, contacts, etc, before doing factory reset. It is worth doing it. Of course, do at your risk.

  • I had previously thought this phone was rooted but it is not. To check whether it is rooted give su command from ADB shell. It will not work if the phone is not rooted and will give access denied message. When phone is rooted the su and free command etc. works. It is risky to root the phone as you may know.

  • yes, i have. Not large documents though. Its not the best, but then its not as bad. for its price i say its pretty good. The screen size does matter if u r going to open doc and pdfs

  • If you can afford huawei ideos, you can wait atleast 2 weeks while the samsung is going to release galaxy pop in india at 9k. It will be the better deal. You can google galaxy pop and you will get a detail of the phone that is far better than these both.

  • I think if you wanna try Android platform, then its not a bad choice to go for at this price. Talking about the camera 3.2 MP. What i have experienced is that this camera can actually take some real crisp quality pics when you're outdoor in daylight, but it fails to deliver a good quality pic in home or offices. And the sound quality is not so bad, its worth for it. The one problem that i'm facing is memory issues, coz the apps cannot be move to sd card so i have to be very conscious while installing an app on this fone.

Nokia 5230 is having edge class of 32 and a60 is having class of 10 which is way too slow only nokia is best except it is symbian and a60 was android. And android is good than symbian but andro a60 is not a good deal as there are many problems of camera not working in many phones within a purchase of a week.

Speaker volume is very low and of low quality. Camera stopped working. Emitting lot of heat. otherwise phone and OS are awesome. I have given this mobile for replacement on 17th dec, since camera is not working. I am waiting for getting new A60. dealer is saying no stock at all. Surprising?!

  • I bought this android mobile on 19th. it was working fine for me. Browser, Android Market, WIFI speed, Media, Camera everything are worth for the money but two days before all of the sudden my loudspeaker is not working, i am not able to hear incoming call/message even alaram and not even vibration gone .... and some times when i click on camera it shows an error message as "could not connect to camera" i got frustrated.... but i can listen to the songs through headset and can attend calls either, those things works fine but the problem is loudspeaker and vibration and sometimes camera... have took that to service center they told will check and let u know by 2day if that was a software issue,, if not it will take 20days to get repaired.. what is this its been only 1week now as i bought it.. now itself its giving problem means for further months... i cant think of it... hope i will get back it within two days....

  • Yes in 2.1 in a60 you can only install apps in phone memory and a60 is not upgradable to 2.2. You cannot install apps in micro sd card in 2.1 eclair.

  • Hi everybody To connect internet ,plug in usb cable ,go to setting wireless & network-choose internet tethering then go to mobile network select Data connectivity that's all.About battery backup moderate level it stand for one & half day in which 1.5 hrs net 2hrs.talk time, 30 minute game & 2hrs music,+ve thing it get charge through Usb connection..!!!! so on browsing no problem.....Guys those who thinking upgrading to 2.2 or more what make it diff. end of the day it is only calling function is important...???!!!?? Android platform bridge the gap between Java & symbian so it has definitely some advantages along with some drawbacks so don't try to criticize the issue.

And you told to go for htc and samsung can you say any android phone at this price range of 6.5k. Samsung galaxy5 is of same spec and it price is 2k more and htc at 15k and it's wildfire don't compare this with htc and samsung as they are global giant and not micromax.

  • Hey deepika 5230 is far better than a60. 5233 has huge display 360*640 3.2inch 16million colour nhd, and operates symbian os 9.4 5th edition. Edge class 32 for better internet browsing if u don't have 3g service. 5230 dosen't have wifi if u ignore wifi you can go for 5230. Best value for money.

  • Hey don't compare this with galaxy 3 as g3 is a smartphone and andro a60 is a feature phone. If you want compare it with galaxy 5 and g5 and a60 both are almost same only the difference is g5 is capacitive touch screen and a60 is resistive that's all. This is for first time android user's and who can't afford a smart phone as you told g3. And this priced at 6.5k and g3 is priced at 11.6k. You told to invest money in g3 it is the worst phone that can't even do a basic phone calls properly as there is so many problems in that. Instead of g3 lg optimus one is better optimus one has better resolution and runs on froyo and g3 is only eclair.

So some people are thinking that chinese phone are low quality. So that's not a problem even brands like dell or acer i think they also having a rebranded zte android phone.

  • Hi, It is working when i select option "Use Wireless networks" in the location setting. But it shows only the location to nearest tower in this case. When is select "USE GPS satellite" then it is not working. And i suppose using this option i will get accurate position. Can you please check if your GPS is working by selecting only "Use GPS Satellite" option? Thanks for your help

  • It will take time to get used to with typing on touch screen. You can try to use swype. The analog clock that you see is HTC Sense UI for andriod, shown on this mobile by mistake. You will probably need to find a widget to display a clock.

Resistive touch screen (could be capacitive) 2. Low battery backup(battery drains 75% in whole day however i use mostly calling and emails and 30 minutes of games) 3. GPS is not very good. Most of the times it gets failed to find location. Pros: Rest of the things from above are fine. Overall: A good entry level low budget android phone.
