i have been using it since it first came out , in 2006. the only problem i ever had was the battery but once replaced the phone is as good as new. very nice phone gets the job done perfectly.(receiving and calling). if you want a gizmo to show off and play games , get some other model. i have only one complaint that the screen is not visibile outdoors on a sunny day, other than that it is the perfect phone. i rate this phone as a 10/10 . love it.

I used this phone for 3 years. That was enough for me. Screen is invisible under sunlight, kb wobbles, dust sucks into screen construction and battery cover drops off too easily, no bluetooth or usb, no any camera. It was really worth of money, 30�.

I've used this phone since I started high school and it's been ok. Now I've just got bored of it. It doesn't do enough and the games are awful. The keypad has always been wobbly and loose. The internal memory is useless. If you only want a phone for emergencies then this is the phone for you but otherwise DON'T GET IT!!!!!

I love this phone...I have the Indian version of this mobile and all I need is messages and calls...glad it supports Java but damn bad to hear that its internet facility doesn't work at all! Its not sleek but too hard to break. I love it and all I wanted is a good internal memory so that i could atleast record some moments through my Voice recorder on the phone...Nokia's reliability makes me feel that like the phone was just yesterday's buy...Its good and hefty battery life makes it a huge buy...but unfortunately it isn't in the market right now...I'm proud to have this phone and enjoy my half-an-hour game play on this phone(it has a game called Nature park, you know)....overall... ITS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been using this phone since September 2007. It's probably the best phone I've ever used. It's rock solid you know. I might've dropped it accidentally more than a hundred times over the last four years, but nothing seems to have gone wrong. In the call timer, the cumulative (total) talk time has exceeded 2117 hours but it's still working as if it was brought yesterday. It's never caused any trouble. If it�s to be broken, I may have to step on it. It�s so robust. What a phone!

i have this phone for 3 and a half years and i can say its the greatest phone ever for those who want to talk and send sms ( most important things according to me). battery life after all these years is 6 days and i talk at least 30 minutes a day...i will never change it, unless it breaks... :)

I use this phone on a daily basis. My friends all have "cool" phones like n97's , iphone 3'gs and blackberrys ( there all about the apps ) But i myself wanted a phone that cared, one that loved and dident want to just use me for media life. Thats why me and my 2610 get along so well. It makes calls and i can also read txts and thats all i wanted to do. I suppose it could to with a bluetooth but i dont miss the camera as i have no one to take photos of. End point is : the phone is "das ist gut" God Bless, sweet dreams.

do not try gsmliberty site beacuse its not correct with nokia 2610 cant be unlock by code. Take it to yours servis for mobiles and they will flash it and unlock.

warning: i used: to unlock my 2610 for free. they will tell u to enter your ph. model & imei. after u will get codes like: #pw+839211154764627+1#. they tell u to try entering these codes and if it doesnt work to send them your phone. after first 3 codes i got the error: "code error". after the 4th i got: "cannot undo restriction" which now is permanent even for the codes i allready used. be aware!!! my phone is probably locked now. how is somebody provides "free" codes and in the same time charge for the same when your asked to send them the phone?!

I have always only used Nokia cell phones and have been very happy with them. But this model 2610 is a real disaster and I am considering the option of throwing it directly to the garbage (I've been suffering for 6 months with this phone): first of all, it is EXTREMELY slow, browsing the menus, writing sms, switching it on(around 30 seconds) is a real pain in the a** Secondly, the contrast of the screen is awful: it is impossible to see anything on the screen with daylight. Yet, the network reception is good. I was extremely pleased with the 3120 but 2610 is just garbage. Avoid it!

I have just bought this 4ne refurbished and it wok fine so far. Am already in love with it and it's also been faithful so far: - Outlook is cute. - Screen display ok though not so clear in bright sunlight. - Have black colour which looks so cool. - Light and comfortable with its rubberfelt casing. Formerly had a 2630 which was so uncomfortable in grip as its so thin and light, tending to slip out of hands. - Memory is ok for me as long as I had enough room install Bible. - Iam yet to establish my battery life. But so far doing fine. - Very clear and audible earpiece. All in all I give NOKIA guys 90 percent for the 2610 ! I also recomend it to all guys in need of a simple 4ne with no fuss about radios, cameras, bluetooth & memory cards.

I've had my 2610 for about 29 months - a record for me. Ive had samsung and motorola that all worked less than a year. nokia 2610 refuses to break, despite being dropped on concrete, tiles, thrown across rooms, etc. it also has strong signal, and i frequently receive mms and sms from friends. ive talked with it about 270 hours and sent 2700 sms and still the battery and keypad are in good condition. its a perfect rhone if u consider functionality!

For those of us who want a PHONE this is it. I have noticed that the display is hard to read in sunlight. As others have suggested, you can turn the contrast down. I've also found that viewing the screen behind me or over my shoulder, the screen reflects sunlight and becomes much more readable. Otherwise, this phone does exactly what it says it will do. I got a refurb from AT&T Go Phone for $9.95, as a replacement phone. Just remove the airtime from your order and swap out your SIM card when the phone arrives. Works perfectly and you don't have to extend your contract.

the phone was free ( yeah - refurb, bundled with $25 AT&T airtime card for $25 - so essentially they were giving away the phone) So cant complain.Everything is decent Nokia quality. Few minute minuses: -the sound is 'slightly muffled' as compared to older nokia phones, not as crisp as 6590. -hard to see in sunlight - lower the contrast all the way.

As far as I've used this phone, I've found it very useful for my everyday purposes. I'm using this as my only and main phone, and have used a large spectrum of phones from Motorola F3 to Nokia E71 and this suits well my needs what are in order of importance: 1) Calling - this is what this phone is made for. Reception is clear and reliable, and I usually don't mind answering without seeing a caller id (which sometimes is hard with this set in bright daylight) 2) Calendar and memo. Good with alarms and occasional notes in place of million small pieces of paper lying around in pocket. 3) SMS and e-mail. These are sometimes useful, and with my personal text-content e-mail needs this unit perform very well. 4) Web browsing. Just for checking news headlines or weather forecast. Battery lasts with my usage for about a 5-7 days without recharging, with my approximately 2 hours a week usage. Only drawback being it is only dualband. Can't have everything but if this was quadband, this would make an ultimate communications tool for 29 euros!

This is a good, simple phone and does what such a phone should do; talk, text, MMS and even rudimentary Internet (web, IM and email). It comes with useful apps and can run Java. It has a standard 2.5 mm headset jack, not a proprietary pain in the a$$. It's a Nokia, so I have no doubts about its durability; they are the most popular phone manufacturer in the world for good reason. It looks classy and like a much more expensive model and feels solid in the hand. Battery life is great, call quality is crisp and clear and signal acquisition and retention are topnotch. Those who are complaining that it lacks advanced bells and whistles should buy a phone that has them! It's like buying a Yugo and complaining that it's not a BMW! Nokia designed this phone for emerging markets and low-budget users, and it is one of the most popular models in the world. I use this phone as my everyday "beater", without worry if it's lost, stolen or damaged because it can be replaced for a trivial cost, and it fulfills the purpose admirably. If I want a slew of features, I pick up my Nokia smartphone! Also, I don't quite understand what many of the commenters say about the screen being "mirrored" or "tinted" and "impossible to read in bright light" because I have not had either of those problems. My screen is no shinier than any other phone I've seen and does not show any visible tint. It is possible that my phone is an updated version with those issues corrected (it is a USA AT&T model.) Granted, the display is somewhat dimmer than many other phones, but I think this is due to the fixed backlight brightness level, which I suspect Nokia chose to maximize battery life, and I can see it fine even in sunlight if I turn the contrast all the way *down* (counterintuitively, turning contrast up washes out the image completely). Perhaps it's this "reverse setting" foible that has people confused. That said, I do have some complaints regarding omissions that even on a minimalist handset like this, are regrettable oversights on Nokia's part, and should not be too much to ask even at this low price point. It is annoying that the backlight brightness, and especially the on-time, cannot be changed... the backlight times-out too quickly. A little more memory (it has 3 MB total and the most that could be freed after deleting pretty much everything, including useful apps, would be about 2.4 MB), perhaps 10-30 MB or so like some other low-end Nokias, would be nice... so one could get some decent-quality pics and a few full-length mp3 tracks on it, and/or have room for a few essential apps like Nimbuzz, Mig33 and Opera Mini. (Perhaps surprisingly, it can play mp3s, but with so little memory what's the point?) Nokia PC Suite support is a must, since it has a USB port, but aside from advanced hacking purposes like running Gnokii, of what use is it for the average user since the PC Suite does not support this model? (This is actually not an issue with the phone, but with Nokia.) The only other thing I'd say is really imperative is either it be tri-band, or failing that, dual as it is now, but with one of the two bands Asian/European and the other American (perhaps 900/1900 MHz) so it could be used everywhere, as it would make an excellent travel phone. Overall, even considering its limitations as stated above, I give Nokia high marks for a quality product. P.S. @ Abdul Aleem ("...u will b more happy then with your wife....") ROTFLMAO!!! very, very slowly responding. the display can not be read on daylight. color of a text can not be changed to black, since there is no real black and no real white, so in daylight You will see nothing. Phone has no option to be connected to the Pc, at least no one sells the cable for it. But it works on 3G regime even it is not mentioned in manual :)

I have been using Nokia phones for nearly a decade and I hate this phone. Its the worst Nokia I have ever owned. Very noticable delay in response to pushed buttons, the menu system is difficult, and texting is not the least bit user friendly. Sound quality and reception are excellent I will admit.

got it for 20 bucks as a prepay phone, works well for what I need it to. I get reception just about everywhere. Able to make calls even on a road trip between Colorado Springs and San Diego much to my surprise. Don't need no stinkin' bluetooth.

This telephone totally sucks. Yeah, it may be cheapt, but trust me, you can get something at the exact same price which would be 10 times better. Let's say that this phone is yelling through all it's pores "Cheeeap". First of all, the display is quite lame, it's very slow and when in the sun, you can barely see anything. The contrast and light are very crappy. Secondly, the keyboard is annoying, it is very hard to use the 4 "arrow" keys; overall, it's not made for easy use. Third, it has a shitty speaker. I mean, you can hardly hear what the other is saying, even if the volume is high, and that is because of the noise. The menu is also shitty. The ringtones the same, not to mention the images. I'd buy something else with this money.

@ Jay-ar You may think it's the phone's fault, it's not. I'm not going to argue with you, but it's down to 2 things: -Your network operator -Your location Allow me to explain, Strictly example: you by the Nokia 2610 on Vodafone and your friend buys say, The SE K300i on the same network. You have a look at your friend's display and see he/she's got full signal/better than your's anyway. But you may not be in EXACTLY the same location as them. Even if you're nearby, you must be an exactly the same spot. Just 5mm apart could be the difference between full signal and none at all. Also, don't believe a word the networks say! If you go onto their website you'll often find they have a coverage map where you type in your postcode and such and they'll tell you the coverage in your area. That's all a load o' Baloney. I got a 'Tesco Mobile' SIM claiming that it had 99.9% coverage in the UK and full coverage in my area. Rubbish! My phone wouldn't even connect to the network. It searched for hours and I had no luck. Tried it on other phones and got the same results. Just another thing. If your phone does not have an external antenna (one that sticks out) it most likely has a built-in one. These are usually located at the top of your phone, but can't be seen. If you hold your phone with your hand over or covering the top it will decrease your signal strength. Why are so many people complaining? For the cost of the phone, this unit is OUTSTANDING. You want a camera? more features? Blue tooth, java etc etc etc then simply GET ANOTHER PHONE... I got my phone for $49, and that included $40 worth of calls... The only gripe I have are basic design issues, like tha fact the screen is hard to read in bright sunlight, and the fact that when you send a TXT, the screen does not say anything to confirm the at the TXT is sent. Other than that, it does what a basic phone should do.. makes ane receives calls... If this phone had more bells and whistles at the same price people would still cry and winge... read the box and specs before you buy it....

Just got this phone a few days ago, payed $30.00 for it. Yes, it is simple. Just a basic phone, but so far it seems to be a fairly decent phone. For what you pay for it, you really cannot complain. If you want a phone to talk and message, this is a pretty good choice. If you are looking for something with all the features, you definitely might want to consider choosing something else. But, I can say I like it and I think it is easy to use!

I have had one over half a year. Works pretty well for a basic phone BUT it's almost useless in the sun. The screen covers act like mirrors making it impossible to see anything on the screen in bright conditions.

I have the version sold in stores with pay as you go service - i think a couple buttons were removed but you can still adjust everything from the menus. No it's not the ultimate phone but for $30 including activation and the ability to go fo almost a year without paing a bill it is the most trouble free phone i've had plus it has 6 programmable keys so you don't need to search the menus for what you most use. Definitely it does not have the best sound or speaker or reception(t-mobile)but keeping voice and text notes are easy - texting is easy - the small amount of memory is conserved with a compression algorithm plus a little extra can be cleared and more if you can resist loading it up with useless ringers, etc. For the price and cost of use you cannot in your right mind have any complaint. Be real about it - it is a phone that does the basic things good enough. It's also wise to learn how to use it and to remeber at least the functions you will use. kisses

This phone has the most un-intuative key layout i've EVER seen. I'm stuck with this POS as a work phone. The screen is washed out. So bad it makes the monocrome look great. The games are lame. No radio. no mp3. Feels flimsy. It's basically cheap crap. This is "the" COCROACH of phones!!

I received the 2610 yesterday and plan to use it as a "knocking around" phone for camping. I have another "good" phone for daily use but may end up using 2610 all the time. As the owners manual says on page 9, section 3, you can adjust the volume. Screen contrast is at Menu -> Settings -> Display -> Display Contrast. Most features work, like text messages and web browser, but some are restricted by the cell company. Sound is good and speaker phone can be very loud or soft as desired. PDA functions are a plus. To turn it on and off, hold the red phone button like the book says on page 7. If you don't have a User Guide, you can download one from Nokia. (Page numbers will be different.) I've been in trouble for bringing a camera to some places (like locker rooms and similar places) so I like that this phone doesn't have a camera. I rarely use it on my other phone anyway. I have recorded my own ringtone so now when it rings, it says "Telephone" in my own voice. I wanted a unique ringer. After playing with this phone for two days, reading the book and adjusting the settings, it seems to be a very good phone.

I like that phone due to its battery time... From last few days i am facing a problem in the phone. I've had this phone for more than a year. Its appearance is really wonderful. It has some problems: 1. its display shows almost nothing in the daylight. 2. its speed for opening the gallery files is relatively slow. 3. its internal memory is not big enough. 4. the same as the first one. anyhow, if you are about to buy this model, i recommend you to purchase Nokia 2626, because that model is equipped with FM Radio. I paid $20 for this phone on my T-mobil-toGo plan as a second phone. I almost returned it because it was useless outdoors. The mirror effect(good only for putting on my lipstick) was solved by putting on a film used as a protection for many electronic screens. Now it is more user friendly outdoors. Ladies and gentlemen, this is an entry level Nokia. Expecting other than basic functions plus 1 or 2 more perks, ex: full-duplex speakerphone, it is useless to complain about this phone. The display is as best as you can get for a CSTN 65K LCD. The speakerphone is loud and clear and so is the reception.

@ deeme I have this handset for 3 months and I find it a good handset however, I have already traded-in this fone to buy the Nokia 3110classic. It is not that hassle when you call(despite of what other people posted in this forum) because it is just like basic fones but sending a text message is quite time-consuming because after you have typed your message, you need to go back to the top just to key-in the recipient's number(if the number is not yet registered in the ph0nebook)... And you cannot really just say that you don't care about the screen brightness because actually, this is my greatest disappointment about this fone. The screen is mad hard to see during daytime especially when your outdoors because of its mirror-like display and all you can see when you're facing the f0ne when you're outdoors is your face being reflected on the screen. And somebody even said in this forum that, "Yeah, you can't see the screen during daytime, great phone for VAMPIRE!"

It only appears to be noticeably brighter than the other models that has a 65K color screen because its display type is TFT(Thin Film Transistor) and this is noticeably brighter than the other diplay types such as CSTN,UBC...

Yeah, i agree with almost all of the peole's complains about this phone. I recommend you to go for the Nokia 3110classic. @Steven KKH I disagree with your recommendation on the Nokia 2630. It's also a nice phone but I had compared it with Nokia3110c and i found Nokia 3110c better in all aspects. N3110c has a 1.3megapixel camera(1280x1024 pixel resolution) that takes sharp and high quality images while the N2630 only have a crappy VGA camera(640x480 pixel resolution).The N3110c also has a MP3,MP4 player while the N2630 doesn't have. And one more, the N3110c's memory is expandable up to 2GB through the Micro SD while N2630's memory is NON-EXPANDABLE. So for other people who really wants value for their money, go for the Nokia 3110classic and not on N2630 and N2610. N3110c cost only a little more than N2630 but not to the highest extent as other phones like Nokia 5300 express music and even cheaper than Nokia 6151.

Yes, don't buy this phone. All its motion quite slow, especially typing the sms, and even make a call as well. I recommend you to buy Nokia 2630. It is worth to buy as the phone memory is with a lot of good function, such like 10 MB internal memory, big sms storage (unlimited, as long as you have free internal memory, 1 MB = 1000 sms), bluetooth (very good features which allow you transfer and receive the mp3 you like), big storage phone book (1000 entries!), 256k colour display screen, compactible camera (0.3 MB) and video record, yea, definitely, it is so slim, just 9.9mm, very nice of its design!..... It's really worth to buy for those who prefer user-friendly handset. I guarantee you will be satisfied for purchasing it! he price is just 30% higher than Nokia 2610. This phone is horrible! I got it for free but had to commit to a two-year contract with my provider -- what a mistake! 1. I can't see anything on the screen unless I'm in a dark room. 2. It blacks out (don't know the correct terminology for this, sorry) after about two seconds (very annoying!). 3. The audio volume is weak and I can't figure out if it can be turned up (I can't hear anyone on the other end unless I'm in a quiet room, and forget hearing anyone outside). 4. The ring volume is too low -- I have it on maximum and still can't hear it unless it's right next to me. I'd rather pay money and get something I can actually use! When my two-year contract is up, I'm changing phones AND providers for giving me this garbage!

I'm a faithful nokia follower but i was really disapointed in this phone. After my last basic nokia phone kicked the bucket, i sought out another basic nokia phone, just upgraded. After I took the phone home I realized how much I disliked this phone. The first thing I noticed that you have to go through a few more clicks just to send a text message. which isn't that much but when you are texting a lot or wanting to send something really fast it gets in the way. The backlight goes off really fast too so when i'm playing sudoku i have to keep clicking the arrow pad just to see what i'm doing. as far as i know there isn't a way to extend how long its on. Another biggie annoyance is that during the day outside the glare is so bad you can't see the screeen until you go indoors or under some shade. And this might be only my particular phone but on a regular basis the phone shuts off on its on accord. The sound also will cut out so i can't hear the other person but they can hear me, and i won't know my phone is ringing unless i see it on the screen. the only way to fix it is to turn it off and on again. definitly not recommend this model.

To naser: You cannot configure the GPRS/MMS settings of this phone model manually because it needs exact configuration settings which you can obtain from your celullar network provider. Best thing for you to do, is to call the customer service hotline of the network just like what I did. I also had that problem. I even called them twice. Try this. This will really works.. Good battery charge life. Extremely poor daylight readable/usable screen. Did the Nokia engineers even try to use this phone outside in the daytime? Nokia should either offer a fix and/or fire the jokers responsible. How can a company advertise or try to sell a product that you cannot use except in the dark? Perhaps they had vampires in mind? Nokia 2600 has a message sending option of sending the message at a later time. You set the time and it automatically sends it at that moment. Its the best phone I've ever come across. I ditched nokia 6600 because it was heavy and big sized. I am very comfortable with nokia 2610. GPRS is faster as compared to nokia 6600 (my personal experience). I use opera mini smoothly. The design is overwhelming and is very comfortable to hold. The only drawback is that you can't assign a ringtone to a contact. You need to create group first and then assign a tone to it. This feature has made me very very angry. Otherwise its a very good phone.

Have it on Orange pay as you go for about a week now. PROS - nice to look at, good value at �25 from the Orange shop, signal quality and audio performance good. CONS - screen not very bright at all, menus pretty slow to navigate and a lot of basic functions are not easy to use, predictive text messaging is a fiddle, phone book contacts put last name first, about 3 different power saving modes that all seem to do the same thing and can't be turned off anyway? After owning two basic Nokias on pay as you go now - last was was a 3120 - I have found both to be awkward to use and no way near as simple as my old Sony J5! Wish the keypad hadn't worn out on that one!

A good basic fone, but too slow on navigation key. The 65K colours screen is its best feature. Plus a very good battery. Much better than 1600 Nokia! 8,5 for design, 6 for features and performance. For me it's okay, I bought it about a week ago. The memory isn' 3,5MB but arouns 2,8 Mb... :)

YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING IS RIGHT! I got this phone free a few days ago, and visually, it's so bad that I'm currently using my old nokia (3220) and returning this asap. Nevermind the glare from the sun, but even when I brought it indoors and out of the light, even held it right up to my nose, can't see anything. It might have a super loud vibrate, but no way in hell I'm tolerating this not being able to see crap.

A perfect entry-level GSM. Does its job well. If you want little extras, go Motorola or Samsung. Nokia makes their phones user friendly with utter practicality in mind. That is why I have used Nokia for over 10 years already.

hi Suren, i think you must be pushing up too high on the center selection key. ive done this and it must move the top scroll navigation key which opens the game application. just try pushing more towards the middle of the center selection key away from all scroll navigation keys (the scroll navigation keys are all configured to go to other functions when starting from main screen). just be more careful when pushing center selection key

Memory low, but you can delete anything-wall papers or java apps to increase memory and download mp3 or photos. But the next morning came disappointment. NOTHING is visible in the sun light. It can be rather used as small personal outdoor mirror... NOTHING is visible. This phone would be a new challenge for those who got used to do SMSing while, for example, waiting for the train. i bought this mobile day before yesterday. Really i am fedup. I am not satisfied. Very very low volume, even if i set maximum volume. Then What is the use of Loud speaker and Voice recording and i missing a lot of phone calls because of low volume. And it is very slow when i navigate to other menus. I am very surprising how Nokia did not test this with basic features. I am planned not to buy Nokia phones further. I am very disappointed. I threw this mobile after used jus few days. I just got my 2610 from Rogers Canada on the GSM upgrade deal for Pay Go clients. Right out of he box, the thing doesn't work! Battery is checked out OK, charger is OK. So much for first impressions.

The Nokia 2610 is a useless phone. Why? Because it has a irtually unreadable screeen. Too small, to dull, reflective screen cover and to make all of this worse the screen illumination cuts our ever few seconds! If you can't see the screen you can't use the phone's features. This phone is being given out free by Rogers in Canada to their "Pay as you Go" customers who have an older generation phone as they are swiching over to a GSM network only. The only good thing about this phone is that it is free!

I got this phone at 7-11 in CAnada and it's nice and simple to use. One bad thing about it is that the battery compartment is really really really hard to open. I almost wanted to pry it open with a crowbar! other than that I'm fine with the rest.

over all a good phone as what it has to be. the minus side is the screen's brightness. that's because it uses cheap CSTN (colour super twist nematic)screen with 65K colours. had it been CSTN with 4095K screen it would have been able to read in the bright sunlight which you can find in the older generation models like 7210. brightness would have been much better if this model wouldnt have been fitted with a slight mirror finished glass which reflects the external objects and makes the screen look dull. however if one can remove the scratch prevention plastic sticker from the glass, the readability will slightly improve by 15%. the advantage of CSTN screen compared to its TFT screen is that it consumes very low power thus increasing the battery life time per charge. apart from this 2610's finishing, sound clarity, battery life and signal strength are first rate.

It was love at first sight, i saw the nokia 2610, i thought it had such great features, especially the silent vibrate. This phone is a very cool phone. I just baught it. In regards to showing the caller's number, first of all you need to have the person's number added to your contact list and then you go to your setings and set caller ID.

You cant change the color scheme... if you pay attention, there is a missing menu in the config menu (it jumps from 3 to 5)... there must be a way to activate it, but i dont knowit.

I have bought 2610 just yesterday (the Indian version)- and looks like it is upto my expectations. The ability to configure and associate "my shortcuts" with the 4-way navigation keys is something I liked (this may not be new to you as it is to me, since my previous mobile is nearly 4 years old). I was able to associate each of the "Missed Calls", "Received Calls", and "Contact List (Names)" etc with the "my shortcuts", but I could not find a way to associate the "Dialed Calls" with "my shortcuts" - so the only way I can get to the "Dialed Call" list is by navigating the "Call Log" menu - did I miss something (you know it's been only a day since I bought it). "Dialed Calls" is one thing I think anyone would want to have a quick access to - so it surprises me to know that they have not thought about it. Is any Nokia person listening? As a next step I want to connect this mobile to the computer and see what I can do it with this (addressbook backup being one of the things I hope to be able to). Had anyone done this? Please let me know on the right cables and s/W to do so.

This phone has a VERY long standby time of 2 weeks (!!!) so that i sometimes have to guess where i put the the charger, excellent speech quality, the software is very easy to use and absolutely fast enough for me, messaging is fast, phone book is absolutely one of the best. And the handset is CHEAP! And the looks are great (mine is black). I love this phone! Will have it for a long time. 10 points out of 10! And DON'T complain that it has no USB connector, no MP3-Player (though MP3 ringtones via download are supported) and no camera - if you buy this phone, you know in advance that this is a very basic and simple phone (compared to all the "toys" out there)! Visit www.nokia.com and read the specifications, assuming that y'all can read ;-)

Well i have this phone in a hurry cause my Nokia 3210 have fail me, I phone is nice, just is what i need a phone with a MP3 player, nothings else because i don;t need feature like the camera, so why should i pay for those feature that i'm not going to use, but this phone is said to be MP3 phone, but its small memory size and don;t have any other ways to download mp3 into the phone really kill its purpose. I wish nokia didn't make any phone that they don;t want to support.

Hello friends, i am writing from Argentina and I have a question for you, maybe you can help me. I own a Nokia 2610 and have noticed the following bugs(?). 1) No matter if you turn off "power saver" or "sleep mode", the screen will always go black (so as to save energy, i suppose) and there is no control over the time you want it to go black (at least i couldnt find it). 2) In standby screen configuration there is a missing menu between "power saver" and "sleep mode". (look at the numbers at the top right corner of the screen when you scroll down and you will see jumping from 3 to 5). I wonder what is missing there. 3) The pone by itself has a low response time. I mean that if you write a little bit too fast, numbers or characters have a small delay from the time you pressed the key and the moment it appears on screen, this can be VERY Annoying if you write fast. I guess the processor is too slow. Well, thank you my friends and check what i have wrote above. Maqybe you have the same problems, maybe not. Please tell me, I really want to know if my phone is buggy or all of them are. Pablo-.

i bought 2610(Black) week ago. i'm really satisfied with its design.Amazing!its lika a mix of SE t630 and N6230. but there are some ass itching bugs in this fone. when i change the color themes all my ringtones goes to Nokia Tune and the screensaver digital clock change itself to a waving flag.. aand you should do your tone settings again and again every time you change the color themes.. second problem is web connectivity. my set seems to have gprs v.6 but doesn't have csd.. aand if you are in bulgaria you should subscribe gprs using wap csd.. its stupid but if you cant use wap csd you cant use gprs too

-good color display -its ringtones are not loud enough but if you download mp3 ringtones they will be very loud disadvantages: -its vibration is weak -its software is a bit slow and gets hang sometimes -its call alert when someone calls you remains ascending although it is set on ringing so my advice is to stay away from this phone !!!

I bought it last week with the FBUS 6030 series cable and d/load MobiMB Browser and I found that Hardy's tips works well with my phone and PC... I suggest Nokia 2610 to all who have limited budget but wanted a good phone... well, it don't have many function, and its speaker it not perfect with mp3 format but it satisfy me... my friends also jealous with me who have nice handphone with less cost...

Why do I like the 2610 more than the K700i: Gigantic standby time (played around A LOT and not even one of those capacity marks disappeared. 2 weeks standyby time with only one charge really seem to be realistic. I just bought my Nokia 2610 last week and so far I'm enjoying it. It may be a basic cellphone but it sure packs a lot of good features, the phone menu is animated (kinda reminds me of my Sony Ericsson K750i but the difference is that the icons on the Nokia 2610 is animated all the way! Cool move by Nokia) And it's MP3 capable, though it's kinda hard for you to upload MP3 tones but its built-in MP3 tones are superb! It's Nokia's basic phone with an edge. Although I've experienced one glitch with my unit wherein it suddenly restarted on its own, it only happened once and I hope it doesn't happen again. The hardware system (?) is kinda slow since the unit I got has a version 3.1 system, so expect your unit to react a bit slow than usual. But in general, my opinion about the Nokia 2610 is that it's great, it's affordable and it's a basic phone that packs a lot of cool new features that will definitely bring a smile to your face.

About the transfer-It works! I use a 6030/6060 data cable and MobiMB software (after version3). You can drag&drop items such a logo, ringtones, java games etc. It is a simple and beautiful phone with a low price :)))

I recently purchased a 2610. All I want from my phone is to be able to send and recieve calls and messages, and for the phone to be reliable and sturdy. From my experience with phones previously, I've found Nokia to make some of the sturdiest phones, and the 2610 was far sturdier than anything else I looked at. Only disappointment is the MP3 ringtone capability, yet no facility to transfer my own music onto my phone for use as a ringtone.

Battery life is very good. Been using it alot for a few days and its still full. Price is cheap but looks expensive. Feels comfortable on your ears because of its curved design, unlike some phones with sharp edges like SE K700. Comfortable keypads. Pretty fast navigation for a simple coloured phone.

I bought this set 2 weeks ago. Its battery time is awesome 7 days and I even had the talktime of 2 hours in these 7 days. The features of this set are awesome. Got MMS, GPRS, EMS, SMS. Software is completely changed from 6030. You can put mp3 tones as ringtones. Support USB port. You can play videos. The only backdraw of this set is it has only 3mb of memory and does not support mememory card. hello everyone well this nokia 2610 is so damn coOl,sexy...i just cant explain!! its really an EXECTIVE CLASS MOBILE.. well abt display its much better than nokia 6030 (my pervious phone). ok about its memory..its has only 3MB..but u CAN DOWNLAOD themes,pictures,mp3 tones..through GPRS as well as with cable.(because it has USB connector like nokia 6030) about cable..it uses same cable as 6030 i.e. Nokia FBUS Serial cable ( as data cable ) & then Mobi MB Mobile Software( as pc suite )[ONLY NEW VERSION will support it] the new version is not launched by this software company,but they will launch it soon as they had launched 6030 after few months of 6030's arrival. well i reccommend this phone to all those business class people who want an exective set in their hands. nokia 2610 rockz \m/

To the users of this cell. What is the average real standby time and talk time?? Usually manufacture's times are not accurate. I think about buying this one or nokia 2310. Good battery life is the most important feature for me.

The design of the body is good, one of the few Nokias I like - nice and unfussy. The screen is dreadful however, the handset I have has the contrast set to it's lowest so I can see the menu highlights and smaller text. This may be down to the mirrored screen cover, I'm not going to smash it to find out though ;)

Funny how it reads in the 2610's manual that you "should avoid prolonged contact with nickle plated objects(as the browse button) as these can cause nickle allergies". Now why in @#* should Nokia deside to nickle plate the browse button knowing it can cause nickle allergies? Call me stupid but I'm dumbfounded.

i will definitely buy this phone!! handphone is meant for phoning someone and texting. NOT a camera or surfin' the internet (low quality picture with slow bandwidth!!). Adding mms+ a bonus since u can download new themes' ,any picture to download.:)!! and have a basic interactive way to communicate. own pic to mms-hp is advisable (:! if you really want to take pictures, buy a true digi-camera instead of (cam +others -mp3 -additional memory slot? -os? ,high price!!) Nokia...u need to get a NEW DESIGN~ I've seen Nokia phones since 1998 and the design still hasn't changed much... still the same old brick phone... ppl may say it's simple and easy to use but come on...it's not like you're still stuck in 1998~ try something different guys~~ Look how far Samsung and other phones have come... from brick => folder => slide design [and guys who are critical of designs don't even attempt to criticize Samsung for making folder phones and slide as copies from other companies because you know what? Samsung has had domestic mobile market for a long time and I remember seeing folder design phones before Moto releasing their folder~ and same for Siemens with the slide]

Having my way trough the specs and its appearance, i must say that this will propably be my next phone. Simply because i have been looking for a long time a mobile that isnt filled with cameras, mp3 players etc. just to get the price up. Plus most of the the phones ive looked over the past years look good but they cost alot and have functions that i dont need (read: i dont want to pay from something i dont need). To me phones (mobile and wire) have alvays been just short contact measures, not toys. This particular model catched my eye, it looks decent (perhaps it could be more modern-like), its functions match my need (near perfectly) and its no too small (judging py the appearance). Plus, in Finland most of the Nokia models i think look very good cost like hell and some of them (example 6060) have stupid defects like missing outer display and an external antenna. People say that these are boring and have no "soul", and of course missing functions (mp3, camera, videophone capabilities etc.) but i think some of us just want a phone instead of a toy rattle.

its a smart thing to do, not all people want a phone that costs 500$ or more that has a 3mp camera, mp3 player, etc..these are good standard phone, and nokia is the only one smart enough to still make them, plus, nokia already has their line of amazing top of hte line phones, that cost tonns,
