krishna, the same thing hapnd wth my A810. its lang chngd into chinese nd der is no lang. option settng present. the only way out is to flash ur phone. after flashing, the default englsh lang. wil b displayed. bt remember to backup ur contacts nd other data in phone memory b4 flashing...

Its been 1 and a half years of my using motorola a810.. its a good mobile, robust and hardy. Trendy look if it were a year ago. But to compare it with the other new screen touch mobiles in the market this cell is a big no no.... very slow processing speed, low network catching capability, very small keypad, cant connect the mobile to computer with bluetooth for internet, the mpt is outdated... in all the whole mobile is outdated.. so much so that no one is ready to buy my mobile even it is in good workable condition. the message memory is quiet good.. but most moblies today have it.... nothing great about this mobile.. oh.. i forgot to mention.. very poor battery performance.

This mobile is really nice...it suits my way of using it.. i've used it for 1 n 1/2 yrs..n its good.. it has some flaws..bt c'mon every mob. has it.. some flaws are- 1]battery back up 2]low sound 3]realy small keypad n its good points are- 1]excelent web browser 2]realy good msg memory...(i hv 4000 inbox n 1000 sent items n its memory is stil nt ful!!+i hv som pics on phone) 3]head phone sound is realy good 4]options available as on pc..(like new folder, rename...etc.) bt i love it!! it has fell so many times from my hand n from my couch n bed bt it still works like bfre!!!!

It is an okay phone but couldn't open up picture messages. Contacted motorola got an excuse being it was from overseas(hong KOng they couldn't help me).I brought it unlocked said it would work for tmobile.

I was using this Phone for nearly 2 years. problems i faced in sequence 1)Central scroll knob started malfunctioning after 1 years. 2) If i move to other city, it used to take me nearly 2 hours to get a signal (but for my other phone it took 1 min to catch a signal.. and this handset was still searching) 3)The keypad lock lever malfunctions. It cannot unlock if it gets locked - faced in 6th month 4)The battery lasts for only 30 mins talk duration - So take a charger along where ever you go. 5) This phone can stop functioning suddenly and only was is to restart. This problem was faced much later after 1:30 years of use. If you are a mobile game lover.. then this phone is for you. but only till the scroll key is working. Good points : The display quality is really good. Very user friendly for surfing web pages

i have used this piece of thing for nearly 2 year, its a useless phone, 1.2.0 MP pixel camera is a lie , it looks like you have taken a VGA camera. 2. You will have to restart the phone in case you see the screen is not working. 3. Battery back up 1 day ( it ok) 4. Sound issues , dont ask, 5. Overall rating 0.0000002 of 5

I had been using this phone for last 1.5 years, but recently while talking on phone little sweat entered the phone and this phone became useless. It was a Ok phone as touch screen experience was good at such low cost, 3.5 mm headset. but very limited. also it hangs when your sms account filled around 2000 sms. look is good. well you get Good Value of the amount you spend on this. But it's use and throw kinda phone as I have experienced.

I would like to warn all the prospective buyers to not to buy this phone. This is the WORST phone i have ever had in my life. Following are its defects: - extremely poor texting capability with the small screen it has. - poor touch screen, very difficult tot scroll down menu - screen lock is so irratating that it will take the life out of you - it makes so bad sounds when you press the buttons. - volume key on the left never works - menu navigation and structure is very poor - you cannot zoom in your image in ur phone. - the speakerphone is VERY VERY poor and wrongly placed, u wont hear anything when its in ur pocket. - voice clarity is also not upto the mark - no games or applications worth opening the second time. - stylus is very small, very difficult to hold - you cannot write anything while moving and u need to use both of ur hands - i have not been successful in sending business cards to other phones - many a times it loses signals when other phones have it - screeen quality and size is poor - not at all suitable for multimedia use except mp3s. - battery life is poor - camera is substandard in all it is a nightmare to use....only positive is that it is sturdily built....i have in anger thrown it to the ground often....but this damn phone never breaks....gotta end it by a hammer i suppose.

Guys.. I hold this phone.. i am facing the following problems.. Once you switch off the mobile and switched on again, it lot of time to detect the networks.. some times it took more than 2 hours. You can't add many songs into music player list. No loud speaker on FM Radio. Battery backup is not good. Hangs everyday.. You can't have all the java games into your mobile whatever you like. and many.. which i don't want to list it out here..

Adjust the backlight setting this helps save on the battery and it increases the life of the battery this way your battery will last longer then 4 hours. It should last honestly 6-7 hours. this is a great phone.

Hey all , I got de fone from univercell at blore about a month back for Rs 4200 , thats with a yrs accident coverage :) +ves :- Nice looks , awesome price , linux -ves :- The fone acts weird when charging when off. Response is a little laggy. Volume buttons are practically useless. General volume of the fone is too low . But then ,u cant crib too much wen u get a moto touch for like 4grand ,can u ? ;) peace all :)

Hi, You must have a bluetooth headset which supports A2DP (meaning a stereo bluetooth). A2DP does not work with single bluetooth devices. I used a motorola S9 (bluetooth stereo) headset and it works perfect for me.

Well i juz got my a810 yesterday for 5850 with 2gb memory card in delhi,i think i spended few hundred rs extra for buying it.I was not having an idea i juz went dere,liked the phone n bought it...thoda mehanga pad gaya:-) well its a gud phone sound is low but can wurk gud with apple headphones as discussed earlier...a bit trouble with hand writing recognition as well but overall gud phone...

Never go for this set motoroal a810. i have very horrible experience with this and i have seen my friends also facing problem.. company says go to service center.. how many times any one will go to service center. horrible. very worst experience. i would not suggest any one to go for motorola sets. because if u purchase then surely u have to go to service center. battery back up very poor. functioanlity very poor any time cell gets switched off ear phone usease problem. if u r in call and next call comes previous call will go off..

guyz...ive been using this fone since a month....it has a very responsive touch screen...xternal speakers suk!!nywayz heaphones too gud....itz basically a linux based os in dis fone.....it doesnt support .jad applications....but .jar works fine........seriously not a fone for gamers.....but a very few touch screen games work pretty gud......battery bak up depends on usage.....comparitely low.....at max it gives 20 hrz of bak up......(if ur using the browser nd musik playr ),else it gives 2 dayz standby.....plus point is very affordable itz juz 5k.....i really njoy browsing in dis fone.......!!!!

My elder brother has diz phone. It has large display 2.2', camera is average. sound is good, but not so loud.Touch screen; responsive,but no keypad. This phone is user friendly. you can install lots of applications, but not an ideal phone for playing games...! The battery is quite disapointing. overall;7.5/10.

I used this phone for a little while and I found that the touch screen was good and responsive, however for me that was it. The screen was too small for my liking, the apps take tooo long to load and the menu isn't very attractive.

I bought this mobile a month back. Got it for 5K at Bangalore. Over all features are good for this price. But battery backup is not so good. I heard that all tough screen mobiles will have this issue, not sure about it and applications response time is slow. Takes few seconds to load any appns and especially when taking pics. Takes more than 10 seconds to capture an image. Thats all I have abt it. And one more info is that I lost my mobile stylus and tried all over bangalore, but could not get anywhere. This is a big head ache with touch screen. Note : Am not sure about other mobiles of the same category and this review is truly based on hands on experience. Thanks, Raj E.

Nup it is a basic phone with normal features which in no concern can match with N70 except for the difference of this is a touchscreen and N70 is not. Gaming, sorry but I dunno of that front, coz I haven't seen any games for this one.

hi all i just brought this one in the offer and i dont think so the music is good when i checked not started using it , so no comments about battery and camera and we cant view any type of application work pp,adobe in this one and also we cant download or install any 3 rd party software since its runs with linux OS for the security purpose we cant do thats good i belive ll share it if i face any issues thank you

Disadvantages Very very poor sound quality. The ringtones are not at all audible. Battery is completely useless gets discharged within one day without talking a lot. Camera photos when viewed on PC shows zero clarity. Advantages TOUCH SCREEN quality is excellent. easily acessible.

hi guys,i purchased this mobile day before yesterday,there was offer in pune on 1st may ie 40 % discount on selected phones ,i paid just Rs.5300 for this one...i saw all functions of dis mobile.camera clarity is superb,picture clarity also good..but i realise that some drawbacks are there...such a sound of music player is not so good and there is no audio settings like equiliser and stero widening...but apart from this d mobile phone is very good...it looks very stylish in white colour which i have..... So whoever replied sorry i sold it.(Mithun) And one sincere Advice to Mithun plz dont buy this phone its not worth for the money. Here is what i have to say about this phone after using it for 4 months. *Pros. 1) 3.5 mm Jack which u can connect any universal Headset. 2) Camera is Ok ok 3) sound clarity in the Rokr Headset is pretty gud. 4) The Touch screen function is awesome. 5) Less prone to Virus as it is built on Linux platform 6) Looks stylish and not bulky. 7) Net surfing is pretty fast in its class. *Cons 1) very small Screen.(2.4 Inches) 2) Lound Speakers Sucks to the core. 3) Video recording and play back is not upto the mark 4) Poor Battery 5) Less games. 6) Most of the softwares dont work 7) No Full screen caller( i heard u can change the skinning and make the contact Images look bigger but am not sure how to do it. for more details check Modmymoto.com) 8) Msging is pain in the wrong place.( i survived for 4 months with that small qwerty Keyboard ) but ya i noe it is touch screen phone so msging in any touch screen phone is pain in the wrong place. 9) Bluetooth no stereo support only headset support T hese are my opinions ...if u r still interested sure u can go and buy this. But my sincere advice dont buy this. if u want a touch Screen phone in Moto go for Rokr E6 it is much better than this phone. just 2 K diff in price upto my knowledge and u will not get Wireless stereo Headset. @prakeeerth See prakeerth u cant compare Rokr with Yuva A810 as both cater to a different segment as u can see in the price difference. Its like comparing TATA Nano with Hyundai i10. Evrythngs ok about the phone except 4 d speaker volume. At 7.5 K wat else can u expect..it has all the functions yaar...no probs with the fone as such.

bro what problem r u having in touch screen ?? its touch screen is good .Response time is 3 sec to launch any application irrespective of ur memory card usage ya its battery has some issues but its not that bad mine battery last 4r 2 days on moderate use

This is a great phone, all you need for a nice price with very nice feature. Only one drop back is that even though you have bluethooth, you cannot sync your phone using it. You have to use USB ;-)

It's a slim, low cost, touch screen phone. All the features are okey except the speaker volume & battery back up. Also it has problem with reading the memory card video & audio files while using the softwares other than the given ones.

@ Priya You need to Download a Java Software called E-Buddy But it takes a lot of time, to log in it requires some settings in that software . I tried configuring the Settings by trial and error method, but didnt work.

Hi i recently submitted my A810 Phone to Service Center due to battery problem After testing the phone for 1 day they called me up and said there is problem in Firmware not in battery then i talked to the Technician he told me that A810 O.S (firmware) is responsible 4r its low backup he said me that Motorola has launched a up new Firmware upgrade which will address this issue Since the service Center was not having this Firmware now They will install it on my phone after one week he also assured me that if u r not satisfied they will replace my battery Lets C u ppl can also upgrade ur firmware 4r free

Hey Guys, Well I bought this phone just a week ago...and its been very Impressive....I dont why people such a problems with the phone..it depends on your usage. I have converted a Movie to 3 GP format..and with full charge i can watch a movie..and the screen is clasrity good.(because i used a Good Coverter...thats Called Ultra 3GP)..the only draw back is Sound...but i have tried Bose,Creative,Apple I-Pod headests...and the sound is awesome...even with the Box u will get nice Rokr Headset.... And GUys one more thing..i would like to know....I read somewhere that this phone has Bluetooth version 2.0 ..and not 1.2..Plz confirm this... And The browsing speed is also ..good.. the first 3 days i had big time trouble with the battery.. I send around 100 msgs everyday and 2 talk time...and i lsten to music for almost 2 hours..and a browsing for about 30 minutes..... by the end of the day....the battery is drained..so that is acceptable for a touch screen phone...Hope Motorola will come up with some kinds suggestion for the Speakers..Because it is terrible.... And some 1 in this forum said that picture Editor..is Bakwass.... Dude plz check how to use the photo editor...actually it is amazing... I would Rate this phone 8.9 on a scale of 10... Sorry dude i mistakenly wrote 5 hours wanted to delete but no option is given anyways i m not a com. representative 4r sure nd my phone gives 2 and 1/2(aprox) hours of continuous talk time and stand by time of 1.5 days on light usage take my advice dont overcharge ur battery its battery is fully charged only when its indicator stops blinking also follow complete charging and discharging cycle battery will take abt 15 to 20 cycles to come to its optimized level

no its, good read my post. the meter is confusing, if u see 100% in like 20 min when charging dont think e battery is filled up. the battery meter would stop blinking when the charging is over.

Frankly speaking ppl are expecting a Nokia 5610 in 7k. my sister has this phone. its a great phone. she works in ad company where she has 1.5-2 hrs talktime in a day.the battery meter may be confusing. ppl think 100% is 100% but actually its between 50-100%, it can be anyting!.Atleast charge for 2hrs if u want a good backup. it has touchscreen, music is better than Nokia 3500c. better camera than Nokia 3500c(same spec except for touchscreen and symbain), what else do u want. touchscreen, 2mp, music, bright screen. only drawback is bluetooth is 1.2 its slow but its not a major prob. its good to buy if u want to experience a touchscreen phone. u wont regret if u buy this phone.

Anil my A810 gives a talk time of abt 5 hours and standby time of apx 1.5 days (normal usage) also if i turn of its antenna in night my phone last upto 2.5 days (which i usually do)

I have bought a A 810 on 26/11/08 & found that the battery back upis very poor ,. Your site shows a talk time of 4 hours & back up of 150 hrs. I have actually tested to find that talk time with strong BSNL signal is 93 min +5 hrs. standby . I gave it to service center at Jamshedpur & they checked it by playing the Music in it & said it is OK Then they tested it with a talk time og 25 min & found no drop in the charge & concluded that it is OK. Is this the corrct method. for checking What is the option now. Is this correct , is this the expected battery life for this set .

I bought this phone a month ago,,oh!!!!!!!!it is a terrible mistake.It has no quality sound.The biggest DEFFECT is that it's speaker is on its back side,,so if kepp it facing downwards (screen facing us) we can hardly hear it ringing.I miss a lot of calls.Also we can only play 3gp videos and not other formars.The only thing good is that it has touch screen.Also the camera is not so good,,,We always need very bright light or it will be pitch black.My aunt's phone having 1.3 mega pixel camera is better than this. It was better for me to buy some local phones than this.Choose wisely

I am very much unhappy about battery perfomance. In normal use(say to receive less then 10 phones+make less then 10 phones +receive 5 SMS + make 5 SMS+ no music +no FM+no bluetooth+no websearch) my battery last foe 8 to 10 hours. After 6 hours first bar disappear then next three hour second bar disappear and then within half anhour total battery get consumed and phone get switched off. My dealer gave best service by providing battery replacement after 10 days. Problem continued he replaced whole phone. Still this problem. Except battery problem this phone is best phone having great features. Don't find any solution. Advise me. I love phone so much that cannot think to sell but seeking battery solution.

For those who complain about battery: I have been using this mobile for more than 2 weeks now. I am finding the battery stand by is really good but the battery power display in the mobile is not showing the exact power correctly. Don't get taken by the display. If fully charged, you can use the mobile for one full day with average use of FM and music.

I m using this phone for past 20 days and seriously i am very much satisfied with its performance for 7.5k u r getting Sexy design,2.2inch 265k touchscreen,2 Gb expandable slot(i am using 2 gb card),2 M.pixel good Quality camera that too with zoom ,full screen video playback,support for java applications(though java appli. 4r touchscreen r very less but u can find them) ,HTML browser,Fast linux OS what else do u expect and as far as battery is concerned its oks from my side coz it satisfies its standard (as Motorola says talk time 4 hours standby time 150 hours )and my phone battery last for 2 days :) My advice on battery plz full charge it only after battery is COMPLETELY drained also soon u will find new themes for this phone :D

I really liked this phone. It is doing lot of things for just Rs.7500. I started my phone hunting in August... I almost saw all models from all companies, the phone which I like were mostly above Rs.14,000, but this phone is really lovely. I could take the pictures and transfer to my PC. Now I use this phone as modem and connected to the internet too. I am posting this comment by using internet via phone modem only. It solves my purpose and all my needs. There are a few drawbacks like very low spearker volume, no speaker for FM etc. but still it satisfies my needs... I am happy to have this phone. i am quite impressed with the looks of this handset, moreover its a touchscreen phone with a price tag of Rs.7200. It looks like a 'must grab'. it is a value for price phone. But there is a huge glitch!! Battery backup is poor and u cannot find any themes or alternative player for this. Also sound quality without headset is very poor. I suppose ppl who want to satisfy their desire to use a touchscreen phone can go for this. But overall i woldn't recommend it.

Best buy among the mobiles of this price range. Very appealing ans stylish, touchscreen feature is excellent and a bit slower than other counterparts. Camera quality is not bad, sound quality is average. It weighs very light and fits my pocket and I love that. This is not a phone of features, but will satisfy its yuva audience. I feel it ideally replaces my previous V3i.

well i bought d phn just a week before... stylish, good looking phn...bvery cheap considering the touch screen feature... but the battery back up is very poor..i have charged my cell for 3 hours at a stretch and just after a usage of hardly 15 mins the battery percentage falls tremendously from 100% to 35%, which is really sad.. and while msging the phn gets hang most of the tym, hav to switch off and switch it on again, which in itself is very tiring and frustrating.. So wat i suggest is do check the features before spending on this particular handset.

Hi, I bought this phone. I found this is good to experience the touch screen. Though, it has some important features not working, Like, You can listen the FM through its Head phones only and cannot switch to LoudSpeaker option. Most important: Also the Volume keys given dosen't work if Lock the phone or onen some other application, You can not change the FM station through the HeadPhone Lead. Though it has good sound but, It's has low sound for mp3 files. Finally it's a personal phone for personal use only, not for show-off purpose. But definately it has the style..

Abilash, HTC is a Windows 6 Mobile fone. Where A810 is a Linux based fone. U can find lots of application that can be installed on HTC. But for any Linux based fone u need to re compile its kernal. Also its hard to find good applications for Linux phones. this HTC costs about 9700INR where A810 is of about 7200INR.U may like the display of Motorola A810 though ;-)

Hi Moto Lovers, I have been planning to buy this phone. Yesterday I had hands on experience fore more than 0ne hr of this beauty at Hypercity @ Inorbit mall in Vashi. So here is what I have to say. 1. Though it appears fragile but it�s a well build phone with back of it seems made up of metal. 2. The joystick doesn�t feel good and looks error prone; I feel a D-pad would have been better. 3. Display is really good. Full Screen video looks good but depends upon the conversion as it supports 3gp and MP4. 3GP videos look horrible. 4. I don�t find any difficult in sound volume if it�s of ring tone or in ear. It�s at par with V3i. 5. There are very limited applications on board. Picture editor is bakwaash, it can�t edit of the pics over 10 kb. �To do� is a good app as it keeps u reminding. 6. Touch response is overall good. Most of the things can be done without using stylus. Messaging needs stylus. 7. There is no memory card in the package. You have to buy one. 8. Since it�s a touch screen phone so battery life is not that great. For an average use one has to charge it on each alternate day. And a substantial use will need daily charging. I am planning to buy it within a few days. I shall let u a full review of it once I have a real 2-3 days hands on experience. In the meanwhile one can also consider these phones in the same range. yes priya u surely can.. there are two ways for it one configure the pop mail server in msg settings ( read gmail setings on how to do sooo) and second u can use GPRS and check, reply and mails of any sites/server. but the problem i guess is typing will be difficult (almost imposible with one hand). @ KJ Brother plz check in the Devie Manger for Any conlficts..and also try connecting the Phone to Diff ports to the computer..and also if possible with try with diff cable..and also with diff Computers....if it works with a DIff Cable then the cable is Defective.... if it works with a Diff COmputer with the same cable then update the USB drivers in your computer as the specs says the USB port on this Phone is compatible with USB 2.0 ... so u might be Havin USB 1.1 Drivers in ur computer... motorola has the worst support site ever. I bought this freak'n a810 and now i cannot find it's device driver even in motorola.com/support. On top of that the cd that they provide with the set also don't have the driver. Anyways a810 is value for money but there aren't any free stuffs for it in net as in games and all.

compared to any other mobile phone websites, motorola.com is the worst websites. look at nokia,sony ericsson websites - these provide good info about all their phones that come under their brand. the fone info provided in motorola website is either not sufficient or its just waste.

At around US$200, I do believe A810 is a "low-end" phone, considering touch-screen is standard. Who else offers a touch-screen phone for US$200, other than those mainland Chinese brands? Or one with tri-band? Yeah, the "largest" mobile phone manufacturer is still "struggling" to relase one single touch screen device...even though it outsells the other brands together and has so much more resources...

Motorola's touchscreen phones are developed and designed in and for Asian market, but Ming can be found for sale in some countries of South American too. In Brazil (my country), I can buy a locked Ming for Claro (a GSM operator) for R$ 700, with no contract, in a pre-paid plan. It's one of most cheap and interesting models for people with no need for advanced resources, but with desire to have PDA functions, web/email and a great user interface. I like the touchscreen based UI and Linux-powered platform of Motorola and want to see it more and more. With a good price, I could buy this new model and replace my old SPH-i330 CDMA from Samsung; in Brazil, smartphones are very expensive. Let's wait...

I bought one A810, the design and handling are very good compared with other pda phones, I know nothing about the quality.. but so far it works well.. Easy to operate touchscreen phone.. I paid 1800RMB in China, around 160 euro. My previous phones, Nokia and Samsung.

In reply to all the guys who complain about camera, gps, etc. I can say that IMO 2mp is enough for mobile phone,maybe just autofocus would look nice. And I dont need gps nor wifi. This is really a beautiful budget phone. Better than Nokia 5610 Xpressmusic(which beats this phone with 3G only) and SE W910(still better for its 3G as well) because it's touch-screen and so affordable, I personally would buy its South African version especially if coming with 3G, but, if without 3G, I'll buy it for my sister who's still a student. Nice phone Moto! Always not trying to be Nokia or SE 'cause as for Samsung, they always copy others' innovations(copied LG's dual touch slider with its G800 Soul). Viva Moto and welcome from hibernation.

You're right, as the phone is "officially available" (even though GSM Arena doesn't want to admit) thru Moto's own site / store in China, costing about USD$200, or some USD$80 LESS than the official price of an E6 in China. So how much can one expect on a handle for USD$200 in Jul 2008? 8mp Smartphone with WiFi and GPS and everything else? Better yet, which "major brand" offers a touch screen phone for USD$200? Can "budget users" deserve the rights to try to use a touch screen handset?
