Sony Xperia Z3 Compact - User Reviews

 • Im personally a fan for small size powerfull phones and by far this is the best ive come across,i used to own this phone and I loved it...can you please upgrade it to double sim and increase the selfie megapixel, size is perfect...Thank you

 • and I have owned 3 all of which have had been dropped and broken however my third one is still going with only the bottom half of the screen working and it can still do every thing I need it to do. would reccommend this phone if either you are extremely careful with it or buy a VERY good case / protection for it.

 • This phone is amazing for the price ($115aud) as ive experienced 0 glitches/ performance issues. However the durability of this phone is easily its worst feature and I

 • Great phone, even in 2019. Until the touch dies. I used a 3rd party application (pill). Unfortunately recently I restored the phone to factory settings, and I can't skip the welcome screen. Dead.

 • Planned obsolescence? Now it has hit me. The Touchscreen dies after three and a half years. Display still looks fine but the touch-digitizer is giving up. It started a few weeks ago at the bottom and the top, so I helped myself with third party apps for the notification- and the navigation bar. But now there are two stripes across the keyboard, makes it nearly impossible to type text and renders the device useless. I really loved this phone, the compact size, the fluid performance and the long battery endurance. I'm so sad now.

 • Hey guys..i have bought this phone about 3 months ago..a week ago, this phone can't get charged properly..when it dies,i charge and the phone won't turn on..what should i do?

 • All Android phones have a launcher. Apple has a launcher, even if they don't call it that. It's like the old Windows Start button. All you have to do is long press the icons you don't want and delete them from the main screen. And when you open the Apps Drawer, long press the apps you most often use, and drag it to the main screen. Easy as pie. Instead of spending time complaining about it, better you invest that time on learning the OS.

 • FYI, I prefer 5.1.1. You can find it a Flashtool-compatible ROM at XDA.

 • Get (Xperia) Flashtool. That is all you need. It has Xperifirm built-in, so you can download the latest ROM for your device direct from Sony, then use Flashtool to "update" your phone.

 • Yes. You can flash it with either D5803 or D5833. I flash mine with Android 6.0.1 for D5803 and it is working great. But, I loose the NFC. Try to look for official stock rom. Google will help you to find one.

 • Docomo z3 compact "SO-02G" can i flash this model by global official android marshmallow as "D5803 or D5833"?

 • This was indeed an issue with older Xperia screens. My Z5 was unresponsive at the middle of the screen, like a thin stripe from one side to the other. I got used to it though. Now I have a new phone. Only fix is screen replacement unfortunately as this isn't a software issue.

 • You did the repairing yourself.. and it's Sony's fault the camera's stopped working afterwards. I mean I don't know.. to me this person is you.

 • I have this phone for my another daily driver (my main daily driver Xperia XZ). Camera I'm no problem because it's 2014 smartphone :v but in middle of my screen is give up cuz my mistake after playing game

 • Nice little phone. It's fast and the new battery I installed lasts a long time. I bought it new at ebay but the battery stopped holding charge about 2 months in. Sony wouldn't honor the warranty so I had to open it and repair it. I cracked the back glass screen so I installed it new, and the battery of course. Then a couple of months later both cameras stopped working. I'm disappointed in Sony to say the least

 • Hi try to clear camera cache , n respond back

 • This is a great phone (I have 2 of these in our family). I like that it is compact and battery lasts for long time. However, there is common problem with the phone. Namely, top and bottom of screen stop working and then you can not use navigation buttons and and notification area. The first phone was on warranty and Sony fixed it in about a week. The second phone just developed the problem and now it is out of warranty. I had to use additional apps to navigate the phone while looking for replacement.

 • Hi everyone, I got this phone, first was in May 2018, and loved the size and performance. In July the back panel cracked an still working fine, a week later the camera went black. Thinking it's a bad batch so I bought another one. Last week of November the camera went black again, what a waste.

 • Sounds like you would like an iPhone because it’s software is not so cluttered

 • I bought Xperia z3 compact this year,2018. The camera, performance, display etc everything was fine until one day the screen gave up. The bottom side of the screen started to glitch and the screen was not responding to the touch at the center. I didn't do anything. I used it with extreme care, like over the top care. Because I couldn't afford any more expenses. You get the point. Honestly, it's a very risky product if anyone is interested in buying it. I checked their web looking for a possible solution but there wasn't any and a lot of people experienced the same problem. hopefully, my opinion might be helpful. Thanks

 • I bought the Z3C brand new in 2015 and was absolutely in love with it, kept it with care until one year and just after one week of warranty expiry the top layer of touch screen became dead, I was pretty upset as I expected this phone to last me for few years. Bottom line is that the Z3C has a very poor quality glass and compared to previous Sony flagship products is an absolute disappointment. After 6 more months of use with a partial dead screen the bottom portion of the screen also died making it impossible for daily use. In addition despite being a water proof phone the main camera lens got fogged somehow (never fell in water or floor and all seals are intact) I was big Sony mobile follower (even have an Xperia X8 Shakira with me in good working condition) but with such bad experience with the Z3C bad experience have lost confidence in Sony product quality and have moved on to Huawei and Xiomi. Don't buy this phone even if someone gives you at dirt cheap price.

 • I find this nonsense of having a 'launcher' forced upon users to be insufferably dictatorial - yes, dictatorial - and utterly irritating. Can count on 2 fingers the apps I use and am rarely in the mood to have to go rummaging through some useless, pokey little 'app drawer' if I do ever need to find something else. All I needed was conveniently set out on the home screen - searching for anything else was easy with Google Play Store - I could simply plonk anything else wanted on the home screen and all was hunky-dory - until Sony enforced the use of 'launchers'. At LEAST give people the option of whether or not they want to use something so fiddly and utterly useless! This irritating experience has taught me one thing: either go back to a dumb phone or don't bother with a phone at all because - let's be honest - who isn't witnessing a tech world waxing obese in leaps and bounds with its own stupidity on a near daily basis?

 • i have too sony z3 compact form 2014 untell now they are working fine and nice completliy --no any problem -and one phone after root it have many problem and its dead and antoher my phone is work fine untell now -sony z3 compact have only problems its heat up phone when use 4 k or games -----if you make root for phone so you destroied your phone---- 1 touch secrn is stack 2 wifi is dead 3 leg 4 slow 5 many problem show after your root phone ----

 • Yes. The notification bar can be pulled down when turned to landscape mode. I have tried testing the screen, sadly, there are lines (1 or 2 lines) on the top that is not responsive in the test. I really like the phone because it is so handy.

 • Take it, if you are not a big user of Internet. It heats up.

 • easy to carry phone. fast than redmi 5a

 • For anyone who has issues with the screen it’s a hardware issue. You what to replace the screen

 • Hello, I got this phone as a gift few months ago and I really fell in love with it. As first sight I liked that the screen resolution/cameras had a good quality which is a good thing about the phone but unfortunately just weeks after use (& take care of it a lot) the touch screen began to present some problems... First: the notification bar denied to respond and slide down then I installed an app to solve the issue but later and through time the whole touch screen didn't respond and I tried to fix it and keep on but didn't worth... Something with software or hardware ruins the phone after a while! Even I thought about buy the same equipment again but talking from experience I sincerely wouldn't.

 • Maybe that part of the touchscreen is broken. Does the notification bar open if you turn the phone upside down? Go into the service menu (dial *#*#SERVICE#*#* ), service tests, touch screen. See if there are any dead spots. Dead/dying touch screen is a common problem with this model.

 • Hello to all people here. Good day! I want to ask help about the problem I have with my Z3 compact. I bought refurbished one in Awok.com. Everything is working fine like new mobile except, I cannot toggle/pull down the notification bar. I installed Statusbar open application downloaded in playstore. It helps by shaking the phone a little bitm, then notification bar pullsdown... But i want permanent solution. I tried flashing it with different Z3 compact firmware (different android versions, from different region) but still same problem... Please help if someone can give permanent solution. Thanks in advance. --> Wilfred, from Saudi Arabia.

 • Hey, bit late.... but I have had this phone for over 2 years and its probably the best phone I have had. I did smash the back in my first few days though (got it replaced quickly) so make sure you get a cover for it. Photos and videos are good quality, I'm overdue an upgrade now but struggling to let it go :o) Definitely worth buying...

 • I would be concerned about its build in screen failure, quite easy to find information about it

 • bad glass!!!

 • Hey guys I'm really liking the sony z3c and I have a great heart for this phone, but as I read some negative opinions about this phone I'm a bit confused this is going to be my first experience so what should I do? I'm being offered to buy this phone in 60$ and it is mentioned that it's made originally in japan and it's in new condition. Please help

 • thanks anonymous.

 • No it isnt since its an IPS LCD so Black wont be black. Like AMOLED where their White won't be White....

 • is this display suitable for an always on display app or similar app? thanks. oh. does it has a knock to wake or sleep function? thanks.

 • Thank you for your extensive reply and for helping me resolve touch screen unresponsiveness in lower 5mm area. Gloves mode really helps for now.I have had the phone for 4 years, I am not a constantly heavy user but I work in a Plate Rolling Mill and there is a lot of dust. I bought the phone because of battery and waterproof and dust-proof. It has been OK but I have dropped it several times very badly and after the 5th bad drop this year the front screen opened a little in the top corner and waterproof was lost. I have been very happy with the phone overall, it has met all my requirements at the time of buying and in the later years. My phone has very descent battery life for its 4th year but the unresponsive touchscreen means that I need a new phone...

 • is this display suitable for an always on display app or similar app? thanks. oh. does it has a knock to wake or sleep function? thanks.

 • best phone ever!!!!

 • Within 2 weeks the back cracked on it's own then within a month the screen cracked and lost touch. I made a composite rear cover and replaced the screen. This is the last repair.

 • Actually second to galaxy s3, nut Xperia baytery last 3years, Samsung not close 2y

 • This is the most crackable phone ever. So far I have bought 2 phones and 3 screen replacement. The perfomance is excellent but the above super black spot is important to consider before buy it.

 • Good phone when it works. Too fragile because of being in a glass sandwich. The rubber charging port cover breaks off very easily. One area of the touchscreen was unresponsive after the tempered glass screen protector broke without being dropped. Luckily it came right after a week. Now the speaker during phone calls has gone so soft that you can hardly hear the conversation. Support app says all is OK. Better think twice about buying a Sony if this is the type of qualify they put out.

 • The nano sim fingernail tray is one of the dumbest designs ever. Sloppy fit and hard to replace. Usually Xperias are pretty good phones. Also a bit fragile.

 • Just update. My z3c runs marshmallow and it's totally fine. Not one bug. Everything works flawlessly.

 • Read the forum posts below, root your phone, and switch to a newer rom, community supported. I use Carbon Rom and my phone doesn't feel old AT ALL.

 • Hi guys, I just bought a new Xperia Z3 compact, it still has the native android 4.4.4, I am hesitant to update the software as I have read some issues that came out the update. I have a question if any of you guys had this in your phone, I performed service test and found compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and proximity switch not working, will these problems be solved if i update to marshmallow? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

 • Totally unhappy and the worst Sony mobile I ever had. I purchased it in January 2016 in Brazil, on the average price of USD 700 (our local market price). After 8 months the headphone jack started to get bad contact, getting just mono indeed of stereo. This may be overcome by positioning my Philips SHQ4200 (for running/workout purpose) plug against my arm when carrying it in the arm strap, since I use it weekly to run outside. That said, after 14 months the top/upper touchscreen start to get problems of sensitiveness. So after warranty and a lot of research and formating, using Xperia Companion, nothing worked. I had to add an application to get shortcut to the notification and use Glove Mode ON to use the phone touchscreen. And after 18 months suddenly, my GPS stop working, so I could not use Google Maps and Sport Tracking. Shame... And the touchscreen get worst and worst... the bottom faded in one month later. Add another application to solve it (a shortcut). The touchscreen starts to fade in the middle too... Watching Youtube, searching on Google and answering Facebook/WhatsApp was so terrible since the keypad gets totally "lost"! You type one button and the other one is typed. Also the corner buttons (forward, down, were useless).I researched on eBay the following OEM spare parts: touchscreen, battery, back panel, front and rear glue stick, side enclosure and GPS aerial. All for around USD 150 plus 2 to 3 hours of mine time to replace everything... Sudden I found new units of this smartphone on eBay for just USD 100 to USD 180!!! (ok, have to pay 60% for local Customs). I know why: even it is a reasonable/good phone (small, fast processing, acceptable camera, waterproof), IT HAS ONLY ONE YEAR OF LIFE. Problems start after that time... That´s why nobody wants this phone. Check Sony Support for "Sony z3 compact xperia back and home button not working". more than 46 pages of questions and complainings and no solution, support. Check the words up/down, notification, pull down, menu, back... and you will get other 32, 6, etcetera pages of complainings with no solution... Sony, never more!!! (note: I used Sony/SonyEricsson cellphones since 2002, they was: SonyEricsson T220, Sony Ericsson T637, Sony Xperia X10 mini, Sony Xperia L or C2105, Sony Xperia SP (died after I was caught running over a strong raining day) or C5302, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact or D8303... )

 • it's all good

 • I have it from launch in Europe, first as company phone, then as private. Works very well, minor issues (proximity sensor). Stil quick, being quite heavy user, more accounts, banking, 3 navigations, 70+ apps. Heavy use: one day battery life. Camera could be better (=less JPEG compression). Hoping that it will last few more months/years.

 • Hi Jonno, I still recommend this phone as it is super durable and a good quality piece of kit. I regretted in selling mine on ebay about 2 years ago and just purchased another one from eBay last week. Currently I am using the Sony Xperia X standard version with the Snapdragon 650 chip. But I can't wait to get the Xperia z3 compact again, mine was £123.99 and is brand new and unlocked. Regards Dharms

 • yes u r right dude batery problem becouse batry heatup but set is good only batry issue

 • Have had mine for 2 years, headphone jack has broken twice. Bought bluetooth headphones because the jack is just that bad lol. Otherwise amazing phone. Saw it's 140 euros in ebay, very worth that price.

 • aslamwalikum tell me i want to buy a phone Sony Xperia Z3 Compact docomo is this any user who using or used this phone tell me is this good phone ? & also heatup issue & battery & hanging issue or in this phone or not tell me fast & urgently plz

 • Same here - good to use when they're working, but they don't seem to last.

 • I will never buy a Sony again. I used the Sony xperia Z3 compact for 1 year only and it started to have loads of issues. The touch screen started having bad response till it got to a point that I could't do almost anything on it. I had to turn the phone all way around to be able to open what I needed. I could not even turn the phone off as you have to touch the screen for that. I was travelling when it happened and I had to buy another phone on the go as I needed that for maps and other information. The camera is pretty awful too. And the battery got bad after a few months of use. I will never buy sony again.

 • I've been using it for almost 4 years now, didn't have any problem.. but I'm not a heavy user, just surfing internet, music, photo, sms.. battery is pretty week, have to charge it every day, but u can turn on battery saving modes. what I like the most is the design, back side of glass looks really luxurious.. sa I said no problems for 4 years with connectivity, apps, nothing! but I always had a protective glass on the screen, and silicon case.

 • Looking to move back to Android and this Sony Xperia Z3 looked a good phone as would be buying second hand. I had for the past year the Nokia Lumia 930 for its camera and been happy with the camera but limited apps. Previously had the Sony Arc (13mp) camera which had a good camera. So hoping pay just under £100 this will be the correct mobile. Any other suggestions guys?

 • I'm going to buy this phone. It's a second hand but still good as new. Is this still a good phone to have? might want to have some of your opinions so I can be sure

 • Go for pink

 • Hi, I want to buy this phone but I can't choose between black and orange color. Can someone tell me from their personal experience which color, black or orange is the most appealing.

 • Review summary: don't buy! A poor quality phone and Sony does not stand behind its product. I purchased the Z3 compact as my first foray into the Sony mobile world. At first I was satisfied, the phone is fast, a perfect size and had the illusion of being robustly built. Fast forward a year and a half and the display begins to develop yellowish blemishes at the right edge by the power button. These quickly spread to the entire right side of the screen and the display itself began to lift from the body. Since the phone (also having already been replaced once due to defects) was just over 2 years old Sony refused to make any concessions and now I am stuck with a defective phone which I was only offered to have "repaired at my own cost". Never again Sony!

 • yes

 • This phone i used last time good but now lag like tortoise

 • hi.. can this phone choose only 5ghz band on wifi hotspot?

 • I have Xperia Z3 Compact from day 1 as it appears on the EU market, still works fine, no issues, just once broke display (my fault), repaired with original one for 85 €. Heavy user, many apps, accounts, banking, 3 navigations, Nova Launcher, Opera + Chrome, Snapseed, Kindle, ... Can work whole day (first battery!). Camera could really be better compared to other similar phones, but I anyhow use Fujifilm X-T10 camera (mirrorless) as I want to have good photos, so not important for me. Really satisfied with responsiveness and speed of this "old" phone.

 • I don't get where he said it was 2nd hand. Although I have never heard of an Xperia phone having that many issues in one phone, although it's possible to be unlucky enough to get a faulty problematic one, but not to write off the all Sony phones. But if it was 2nd hand the question does beg to be answered, (why did that person get rid of phone?). I've been using Xperia phones for years from z1 onwards. And there have been bugs like notification pull down issues experienced in z3 along with WiFi issues. Rather disappointed with that as z3 is awesome.

 • same problem happened to me twice :( wonky headphone connecting point on the top of the mobile

 • The Z3 compact was a really nice phone. The size is not gigantic like the most other phones, it still had a headphone jack, it was responsive, very durable, and it did not have any hardware issues in the almost 3 years that I had it. My main issue with the phone is that it only has 16gb internal storage. This is problematic for me who plays multiple mobile games. Even with transfering content to the SD card, I would constantly be within 1gb of full capacity. The battery is another problem. Initially it would only need to be charged once every ~36 hours, but near the end of my time with it I was charging it twice a day. Though this could be due to my increased use of my phone. I still use it as an alarm and to read news when I get up, but I upgraded to the XZ premium which is a massive phone, but has the memory, specs, and functionality that I was looking for.

 • This is my 3rd sony mobile.touch screen stop working automatically.i never buy sony product in my life.

 • You're not wrong, I've owned my Z3C since 2014 and my headphone jack has gone wonky twice now. First time the headphone jack went bad was just a tick over 1.5 years, which got repaired by Sony under warranty but happened again, for the second time about 14 or 15 months after it was repaired originally.

 • I've been using this phone for almost 3 years now and it did its job very well the only issue that is really bugging me is that the AUX port is wearing off really fast. I like to listen to musik on my phone from time to time, but after the first year the AUX port was unusable, headphones and speakers can't connect to it anymore which is an absolute shame if you're fond of music.

 • Lol, thats what you get from buying a 2ndhand 2014 phone!!! Keep up with the times and buy either this year/last years flagship brand new!!! Your just obviously trolling anyway so hater gotta hate.

 • Bought the japanese version. It's working good despite it overheats quickly. The camera is bad (maybe because I bought a pre-owned). Overall, look for the custom rom since this phone still hold much potential coming to 2018.

 • Do we have same touch and less volume issues in docomo z3 compact Japanese version as we have these issues with international version.

 • Good phone but worst quality ever. If you want good small and phone that will fail on multiple reasons This is the right one. Problems I had: Micro SD holder failed. Card was poping out all the time... hatches for water and dust resistance failed even I did it charged with magnetic connector... Partially Touch failed soon after that. Display failed after that. And after that display connector burned on motherboard so you could not change display anymore. Im using Ericsson's phone from 1998. After that i was using Sony Ericson. And this is my first Sony and definitely last Sony. The only thing is headphone audio quality that was extraordinary with proper after buyed headphones. Iphone 6s cant even get it close with same headphone... Shame for

 • Well last time I posted an opinion, I thought the phone went dead after suddenly stopped charging. By then my partner broke his Samsung galaxy s5 and I had to give him my galaxy a3 2017 and I then tried my 3rd attempt to fix this phone. And you know what? It worked. It tends to overheat easily but for 2014 model both internet speed and battery life are incredible. While my partner loves his new Samsung, I'm more than happy with this little trooper.

 • I love this phone, it's fast and the battery life is pretty decent. It's a shame the glasses are so fragile, I never hit it, it never fell but it's been almost a month and both front and back glasses are cracked. I don't care so much about the back one but the front crack will eventually render it useless.

 • I have same problem , after 3 monts use

 • I used slimm rom 3.8 marshmallow and very good battery life. Elitekernel v3 seems good. Cyberian Camera 8.0. And quality is unbelievable. Anturu score 59450. Love it.

 • I thought that this would be my favorite cell forever, but I end up being the one that ended with my preference for Sony. Too low audio volume; The audio jack stopped working in a few months; and a year later the touch screen also stopped working as it happened to the vast majority of its owners.

 • I bought this phone new 2014/2015 Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Unfortunately, the screen lower all 3 buttons not working. I can not go back to main screen if I received any call or if I am on internet. What a sad. Only can go back if I switched off totally and on again. Sony should have a look all this problems with free of cost. I was mad fan of Sony now very disappointed.

 • my Sony z3 compact while on charge the LCD cracked and Sony refused to fix it

 • my phone has cracked and it was only 2 days old while on charge it craked and Sony refused to fix it

 • Been using this phone since release and have replaced it just once. Running Carbon Rom for Android 7.1.2 and can't thank the devs enough for the port. Battery holds up so well and in conjunction with other mods, it does everything I need it to do. Will eventually move to the Z5c or Xc next year.

 • Isn't that only means that's your screen broken?

 • You are right, i had the same problem.

 • Its a shame all vendor are hand in hand in cheating the customers they have flooded the market with 5" mobile until now, from 2018 foldable phone with compact form factor will be released to generate revenue if people start using one mobile set for 5-6 years revenue generation will be minimised mobile vendors are playing with consumers needs viz a viz requirements. 1. Remove user replaceable battery started by Apple so that handset will not last more than 4-5 years since apple hardware is much better compared to Android hardware therefore handset might last for eternity which apple does not want. 2. Remove SD card from mobile started by Apple iPhone 3. All new handsets difficult to repair post Samsung Galaxy S6 including replacing glass which cost 20% of the cost of handset is it really that expensive answer is NO. Since consumers have started repairing handsets for 100$ instead of buying 600$ new handset. 4. Introducing handsets 5" and above later bendable phones will be realsed which will be under 5" but can be expanded to 6" and above Samsung Galaxy X is an example.

 • Time to change guys, i had this phone, sooner or later your upper and lower screen button will not work, disappointed. :,(

 • Wtf you talk about?

 • that's true, i buy from aliexpress a couple socket cover as backup, and use chinese docking charger, so the socket remaining goods

 • thats the weak spot of the phone. happend to me too, but i found original replacements from sony on amazon for only a few bucks, works perfectly.

 • 2 nd hand phone works very well ,the only problem is the sd card sidekey cover that is broken

 • I purchased the phone sometime around the end of '14 and start of '15. I eventually installed cyanogenmod on it and ever since I've had no issues whatsoever. I am now using a custom LineageOS rom and the phone works great. The battery lasts around 3 days with light use, 1.5 days with moderate use and 24 hours with heavy use. The battery is such in good shape due to the fact that I stripped the useless Sony software included in the phone which was using up cpu cycles. Overall I will continue to use this phone until the end of 2017 and then I will try something else.

 • Hi. My Sony does not work touch upper and lower screen. Does not vibrate, camera quality sucks. Does not have the quality that when i buy it. Already Change the screen in the warranty because stop working, this a original screen touch and is again in the same, Sony no more, now it Will came the P10. And im a sick for Sony. Still have the Sony walkman live, and Xperia X. Time to Change.

 • Same experience. Parts included, had short lifetime. Physical durability was fairly good, but inside there laid the problems. Mine was purchased at Sony Center.

 • But at ebay write the lcd screen is 4.3 inch. Should i buy it?

 • 4.6"

 • great phone, used it for almost two years now!

 • Hello. Bought Z3C in 2015. After almost a year, the touchscreen slowly became unresponsive. I got the problem resolved as the handset was under warranty. But yet another 1.5 years later, the same problem has begin to occur again. Now I don't even have any warranty. This is annoying. I'm switching to another brand (namely Motorola Moto Z Play). I was like a die-hard fan of Sony but not anymore. I wanted to use Z3C for a long time. I'd highly recommend that you don't buy Sony Xperia Z3 Compact whether new or used.

 • I have the same problem. After a year and a half, the screen does not work properly, the headset does not work, the calls ring does not ring. I had to switch to another brand

 • May I know, what is the actual inch for this xperia? Are 4.6 inch or 4.3 inch? I want to buy the new LCD Screen at E-Bay to replace my current LCD that are already crack and cannot be use.

 • When i saw this phone in a shop, i felt like i ws lookn at atoy

 • I have using Sony Z3 compact, and it runs so great. Because when I go to sleep I turn off my phone. When I get up, I open it to use as usual. Do this everyday, the phone is better and better to use. And no problem with system anymore. Love Sony

 • i have got the same issue after 2 years, loud speaker and touch screen. I have tried all possible to fix that. No chance! unfortunately, needs to be replaced. I have changed a view on SONY :(

 • I bought this phone early 2014. After 1yr and 8months dead touchscreen and loudspeaker problems. Luckily i took 2yrs extended warranty. Sent to repair then now same touchscreen problem happen. Now im typing using mouse thru otg cable. I decide not to send for repair coz i know it will happen again (based on what i read in forum and user comments)

 • My first android Sony smartphone... sometime, hold a smaller screen, take me back to the old times... currently use z3c as my device when cycling, small screen keep the phone safe in my jersey pocket! awesome!

 • After 2 years in love with z1c, an hard crash brokes the motherboard, so I decided to buy z3c to continues the quality of the brand. Bad luck: after 1 days the touch misses a line, after 3 days the screen cracked itself only putting the phone on its docking. Guarantees doesn't cover the display substitution. I ordered one replacement screen. The components inside are too compact and the flex cable forces the dispaly to detach from the sticker. After few days the display shows random white lines due to flex's compression. I ordered the second replacement that come with a fault touch screen. After a month, the first dispaly replacement is cracked again, only keeping the phone inside the pocket. The touch screen stops to work when the front glass is cracked, it is a very very bad feature, in case of emergency you can't use your phone and you can't switch off. My old z1c get an hard life, a lot of falling without cover, water, cold and hot, travels, high cpu usage, gaming, etc... Also the camera (exact the same hardware) seems to works with better quality in z1c (too much noise, bad focus). However the 120 fps of z3c is wonderful. So I'm very disappointed about this decadence of quality to follow an extreme design. I don't think to pursue Sony products if they continue to product worse phone at each generation.

 • z3c because Samsung s5 slows down due to its software

 • is samsung s5 or this z3c better? thanks

 • We had bougt 3 Sony z3c summer 2014, great fast compact without Any lack of specs. But here are some fact, audio 3.5 failed for 1 z3c after 6 mth. Summer 2016 Sony stopped security update, that red flag, only keep Sony for 2 year old. This summer 2017 still z3c. We had one with battery problem, but solved with reset Phone. 1 z3c got touch problem from 5 y and down, cannot move anything across the screen, but when chance screen No problem, solved This with bigc keyboard. After 1 month, the touch Phone cannot start, tryed several solutions. Now another Phone problem the 3 function key back/home/jobnow does not work, tryed many Thing. But if you need great specs and only keep Phone 2 year take the Sony, if you Will have Phone more than 2 years, do not take Sony. In the years we had several phones, Nokia, Samsung, iPhone and LG, next i think Will be Huawei, to try something New.

 • hi appreciate yr feedback. does this happen to sony xperia z3 also? Would u advise to buy samsung s5 instead?

 • Software is great for a phone of this age and cost. Build quality is horrible. After less than 6 month of use the front screen became to become unglued due to heat generated form this phone being in use. This was never dropped, just from being used and stored in my back pocket or on a counter of some sort. Contacted Sony Canada for warranty, because they claim there is a one year warranty for manufacturers defects, which I would think they should use an adhesive which deals with heat more effectively, and they would not honor it because the phone was for the northern Europe market. I asked to verify that is is an Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with the IMEI number, and they said "yes it is, but not a Canadian model." So after 6 months, phone still works, but because the screen is loose, dust is all over the inside of the phone and between the camera lens and back case making pictures look horrible as if i rubbed fingerprints over the lens before each shot, no longer water resistant, and slowly peeling off more and more. There is a major design flaw in this phone with the screen. I was shocked that after 6 months there is no warranty for this flaw. Would be a great phone for someone that uses it a few time a week, as I said it performs very adequately for the price. But if you plan on using this phone on a daily basis, expect to be buying a new phone in the near future. After about 13 months I am now forced to order a new phone. It will not be another Sony.

 • stunning camera??? u got to be kidding me. its pictures are washed-up, not sharp. there seems to be cloudy or misty or whatever. colors are cold. white has reddish tint. its has lots of flicker. 20mp my foot! compare to nexus 5 which is only 8mp and doesn't has any of this bullshit and probably cheaper, this camera is a scam, a total let-down. Yet sony has unashamely brag in their adverts its the world best.

 • (third repair for the same issue) Sony's poor design of the waterproof feature fundamentally negates your warranty - and here's why: The USB port is the weakest part of the Z3 Compact's design and the main reason why you might be throwing your money away. The rubber seal on all the ports is what keeps water and dust out of your device. Unfortunately, there is a major design flaw. The rubber is thin and fragile, and susceptible to wear-and-tear. Since you're opening and closing the USB port on a daily basis to charge your phone, the rubber begins to come off after ONLY A FEW WEEKS. As soon as it begins to do so, you struggle to have the port ever properly closed. If you have a problem with your phone in the two years after purchase, which most people do, the technicians will likely tell you that your warranty is void because there is humidity and dust in your phone - even if it's Sony's fault.

 • I suggest for any android device, after big SW increment update, perform factory reset. I know that this is pain in the ass, but reset usually solve lot of problems on big increment updates.

 • After almost 2 years using of this phone, here is my judgment: - Software still great, quite fast, maybe not as 1 year ago but compared to any samsung mobile which tend to become pretty lag after one year and almost unusable after 2 years (unless you switch to alternative software), sony is miles away better regarding SW. - Battery still good, holds a day with heavy usage without a problem, normal usage sometimes 2 days, even with 6.0.1 Android. - 4,6" screen is just perfect for one hand usage and I already become terrified because for next phone I know that there will be nothing descent in below 5" form. - Build quality, probably the worst one I ever seen on any phone, complete structure is weak, only solid stuff on that phone is screen and back glass, frame does not have any solid construction and if phone hit ground, force will stress glass and smashed screen is usual scenario with that phone (my cracked and 2 other phones from work colleges cracked inside 1 year. - and bonus, additional Sony feature, when screen crack, touch is dead !! I only seen this on Sony phones, all other phones usually can work with cracked screen, but not Sony which becomes immediately unusable. - because of week phone construction, it is very questionable is it worth to replace screen on such device, I wonder how many Z3C phones are still used after 2 years and not dumped in rubbish can. Hint: If you replace screen by your self, forget stickers, they all peel of after few days, use B-7000 glue. So, conclusion, I have now 2 mobile brands on my black list, which means that in a future I will not buy any model from them by any cost or by any circumstances, Samsung and Sony.

 • i have same problem, fortunately, it happen in last week before guarantee time expired , so service centre replace display screen free. after one year the problem back again (i think the screen is weakness of sony smartphone, a lot issue about it). so choose any aplication ,rotate the phone horizontally (lanscape mode) with auto rotate on, then it passible to pulldown notification, even take some step it's better than waste money to replace screen. still use z3c after more than 2 year bcoz performance still good ,only slightly decrease

 • i have done dropping my Z3 Compact from 70 cm and got nothing crack, how high your dropping make your crack? hei wait, if you knew that your rubber flap loose, you should buy new one before dunk into water.. before you dunk it, make sure you checj the pressure test first, so you wont go dunk it if the pressure test result was low.. i have bought new rubber flap then i add some glue around, then check the pressure test got 1011 milibar from 1000 milibar.. next i dunk it abput 40 cm in fresh water in 2 minute, and it's survive... yeah!!

 • just flash with 6.0.1 (marshmallow) firmware, and you will get well soon.. cause maybe your update process was uncomplete.. IMHO

 • Sounds like your screen digitizer is damaged. to check to to the Dialer and type *#*#SERVICE#*#*. Then go to Service Tests, Touch Screen. See if the whole screen is works, if not go get it replaced

 • I had never smart phone before, so i have committed a mistake that i thought it's durable. From 30cm it was not. There was overheating issue from the beginning so there was a tiny line at the back. The annoying problem was the back camera. I think the early pieces came with a problem, that just drop slightly which does not cause any damage and the back camera is gone. I was frustrated with the built-in battery, but it didn't cause any problem. (there is no aging problem also) The glue is loosening the front panel after almost 3 years. I'm sad with the camera which gone after 3 month. It was an experience, so next time bulky case at least, although one year has to come to replace the whole. Very likely it won't be sony. My main point is the camera. (as a normal user to beat the camera on a new mobile needs a 200 dollar camera at least and the software won't be that good and flexible than for a normal phone) What i learnt, that don't waste your money, wait a year or so, and buy a good one. (at that time that was the only one, who has got 2 days battery, and was a relatively good camera - although i have realized it's not that good in practice) z1 compact was not that impressive, and z2 hasn't got a compact version. It was relatively cheap if you looked at the competitors. There is no guaranty technically, don't pay extra for it, does not matter. Most of the phone, if you drop and don't have a case will be broken what guaranty does not cover.

 • You can go to the Display Settings and turn on Glove Mode. This makes the screen more sensitive.

 • I have had this phone for over 2 years and it has served me very very well, still holding up today even with the massive amounts of damage I have done to it. The back glass has completely shattered and I have tape holding it on though a case can easily cover it, the front has a few scratches and cracks and the cover protecting the camera has completely fallen off, leaving my pictures quite foggy and with dots but all considered, it is one of the best phones available. The battery is able to last two days with moderate use, it runs as smooth as when I first got it, the camera (when it was new and I didn't ruin it) was amazing and the screen looks just as good as a top tier new 2017 phone. The size is also very good as it is not too small but also not too large, being comfortable in any hand. There are some minor annoyances though, being that the power button is placed in an awkward spot and also the little flaps rubber grommet thing has fallen off. Some Sony apps on the phone are also not useful at all though most can be deleted. in summary, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is a very good phone with some minor flaws but for the price, it is one of the best phones you can get. I would recommend it heavily over the iPhone to kids who don't mind using Android and getting a few looks at their moderately unique phone.

 • This phone was my favourite for the last 2 years or so. Its performance, size and the weight were perfect. But after breaking my second z3 compact, I'll never buy another one again. The first one never came back to life after getting a crack on the front glass, the second one's usb cover came off cos the rubber sealing wore off very quickly and was no longer waterproof after a year. I accidentallydropped it in the water for just a couple of seconds and the phone was dead. I was so devastated that I couldn't salvage it. Now I've decided to go for Samsung galaxy s5 cos it's affordable and apart from the size, the real performance sounds slightly better, more hard wearing, and the battery is removable. In the end, I had to accept that I can't have everything.

 • Strong phone same specs AS the normal xperia z3 but with smaller screen. We have, in my family, 3 - z3c phones in the last 2 1/2 year. 1) one phone after 1/2 year problem with Sound Jack 3.5 - needed a special app to activate that the cable were in the phone, but after a while that didn't work. 2) after 1 year magnetic panel for power, failed 3) after 2 years problem with battery time, couldnt hold a days work. 4) after 2 years problem with phone conversation speaker and mike. Strong fast phone but, lots a problems.

 • I've had this phone for over a year. Was very happy at first, it is very compact and practical, and has a camera with great resolution; but picture button is not ideally placed for selfies (only normal camera use, and only with two hands) Major problem is the silicon linings got off real fast (as you have to open everyday to charge batteries), and now vibration triggers some kind of annoying metallic noise

 • I have used this mobile phone for three years and ı really have regreted after buy it. Because software of this brand is really troubled, it always get closed when i speak to anyone and vibration mechanism of this phone is problematical, as well.

 • My z3c has black camera screen after updating to 6.0 and screen keeps coming loose,I've bought new screen sticker but still comes loose :-(

 • As in last 3 years of mobile generation:- Samsung galaxy S4, Sony xperia z3 compact and other phones like alcatel, Lg stylus series, Samsung note series. They have been tremendous experiencing phone goodness. Still they are counting like Bollywood - Hollywood film grossing (Lagaan, Titanic, Dangal, Baahubali, Fast & Furious etc.,). And are being sold in market even in second hand. Sony is the only handset phone, that does not hangs or wobble. I had purchased Sony xperia z3 compact for 30,000/- Brand New Packed Phone from ebay on special discount offer in Nov. 2014. It's almost been 2.5 years using this phone. It's been awesome time with it. I will never sell this phone. The phone update has been last only till Marshmallow 6.0.1 version OS. OS security, other updates are still being given by Sony Company every month for continue enhancing of phone lovers. It never lags in gaming, video capturing mode (4K, HD Resi), HD photos, panorama, etc., Only thing is it does not support 4G sim, but it has a feature of LTE (Long Term Evolution). I have played games like (NFS unlimited, NFS black edition, NOVA, Battlefield, Cricket World Cup, FIFA 2015, PES Soccer, NBA Basketball Live, Aerofly). Yes playing such HD games will obviously heat the backside of phone (Any phone brand). But with this phone use, i am looking for Stylus phone, because i am busy writing research notes, articles, storylines etc., (They may be LG Stylus 3 LG400KD or Samsung Note 8). If ever i want to replace z3 compact, i will buy iphone 7 / 8.

 • definitely agree to you..i also have z3c more than 2 years and still same from the begining..worth my money.

 • I don't own the device, but from your description it seems like an issue in the touch on the display .. might need replacement ..

 • I have purchase my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact last 2015. My problem now (May 2017) is, I can not pull down or use the top buttons on the screen. For example I received some notifications, I can not slide it down for me to read. During using camera, the top buttons on the screen is not working like flash control or reversing the from front to back camera button. Appreciate your advise...

 • you already told what'll happen. just present proofs. i see nothing will bar you from getting a refund or some sort of compensation.

 • Guys I had the unglued screen twice and now I have dead pixels. In my region if you have the same problem 3 times they have to give you back your money or give you a new device. This will be the 3rd screen replacement. My question is that can I get my money back?

 • I agree I've come from s6 and it's very fast phone screen come loose ordered new lcd sticker lol Camera not bad but nothing compared to lumina 930 Well worth buying though

 • I recently had a small update not sure what it was though

 • Does the phone still receive security patches updates ..? or is the last update received was marshmallow last year .. ?

 • yes from my opinion, absolutely agree with your point. i used Z5C for 1 year, and still pretty poor battery life depending on z3c battery life. and yes, the overheat problem. 810 SoC Snapdragon is well damn good, but its too hot when i used to play high graphic games such as asphalt or NFS

 • I bought the Z3 used and was able to send it back after a month. When it was charged, it worked well but if suffered from the sudden death phenomenon. I couldn't charge it or start in dozens of trials over a few days. Many times it would plug it in but then it stopped charging after a few seconds. Seems like the charging electronics had a loose contact. Without this glitch, a great phone, small, fast and long battery life.

 • Well, reading all these comments makes me put them in the two groups 1;- reviewer never had this phone 2;- owner of the phone. Now,I won't bother with the negative 1 group. The phone is still very snappy despite its age. I loaded it with my stuff from S7 and to my surprise it flying without any issues. I keep my phone in case so no issues with the screen, back and the flap covers. Now after 3-4 months of usage it still rocking without any issues I had before - lag, overheating, restarts etc. Now I was due to upgrade and from my experience with this phone I decided to switch to Sony. Now testing the brand new Sony XZ, and so far very satisfied. No regrets switching from Samsung.

 • I've been using Sony for 4 years (Z1 & Z3) - it's a hassle free phone but only one down part of it is the sound quality is very poor - from the ringtone to the voice call - low sound - unfortunately - this time I'm going for Samsung S7...

 • I have this pfone for almost 2 years and no problems I faced. Only the back made of glass have one crack, I dont know how. The battery is really good!

 • No. It is an awfful phone with poor batteryl life and touch screen

 • is this a good phone to get for $173?

 • I am having serious issues with the touch screen panel . I have changed it twice and it is very expensive to do that . can sony please look into this issue ,as I have noticed that this is a common issue with this particular phone . I really like the phone ,the only minus is the constant fault with the panel. even though the phone is a substitute phone which I hardly use often

 • @Vec better check with app how the phone connects to GPS satelites. Mine z3c was faulty and didn't catch any of GPS sats or only 2 of them with poor signal. I sent it to the repair center and they had to change the whole motherboard (which means new IMEI). Now it works like a charm.

 • My sony z3c work very nice... I like my z3c 🤗🤗

 • To be honest, I would go for Z5C. I do own Z3C 2nd year now. It is such great phone, but some problems are occuring time to time. Jack tends to make me nervous sometimes, microphone is poor quality and USB charging port is "closed" in "shelf" with such a poor rubber, which has fallen for 2nd time now. Therefore I bough magnetic charging dock, which I´m completly in love now, but still... Engineers has solved waterproofness of opened charging port in Z5C, overall it is a huge advantage. But there are other things: fingerprint unlocking, seriously better camera - in Z3C it sucks, Nougat Android... Futhermore, battery life on paper looks good, and despite the fact, that my Z3C is pretty old, I still think it should be capable to last longer than actual 12-13h. And that´s the time of casual usage, nothing special. Overall Z5C should offer more smart solutions, which make it a better smartphone. That´s my opinion.

 • Had this phone for 2 years, everything is great, except the gps. GPS simply does not work on the phone itself, it has to use high accuracy(wi-fi, bluetooth or mobile networks to determine location). If it's not set on high accuracy, it's impossible. It drifts alot and updates slowly even on high accuracy, got me lost a few times...

 • I just bought the Z3 compact used on ebay. I had an LG E460 before. That was extremely slow with most apps, and the wifi and gps didn't work reliably. The Z3 is way faster, has much longer battery life with wifi. With limited use, I only recharge it after two or three days... It's just so much better, I can't believe it put up with the LG before. I fully recommend the Z3

 • Z3C or Z5C .. ? I know that z5c is faster, android 7.0, and better camera .. but z3c has better battery life, and does not heat as easy .. ! I just need some Owners to confirm or deny above points .. especially regarding android nougat performance on z5c .. and the heating issues on it .. ? Thanks .. :)

 • No new update, even if i connect it with pc companion, any suggestions?

 • Marshmallow 6.0.1 New battery from Sony - standby 8h with sim card standby without simcard 12h. Touchscreen and display is dismounting it self from the frame. Unfortunately I have no ideea why the battery is discharging so fast. :(

 • My z3c touch panel spoilt after 9 months, and the replacement touch panel spoilt again 10 months later. Both time the touch panel fail with same symptoms * It starts without response on notification bar; * After a week, no back and home buttons working; * Tried a complete 'refactoring', unsuccessfully; * Gloves mode is not a good workround (too buggy); * Botton shortcuts working on lockscreen (calls, unlock or camera); * Finally whole screen no touch response. There are many people facing same touch issue but Sony still ignore the fact and says they look into cases individually on case by case basis. Does any of other Sony phone have so many user complaints on same touch issues with same symptoms? why the touch screen spoilt every year under normal use condition? as i mention this is my backup phone and mostly place on table. why i have to pay for a problem that is not my fault? is it normal for a smart phone price 1800+ touch screen have to change every year? why there are so many complaint about this model touch screen on sony support forum and other forum? all with similar symptom and touch screen spoilt within a year? is it the touch screen factory defected item or is the phone design problem? An expensive phone that gets broken under normal use circumstances. This is what Sony can provide. No matter how I complained, they just refuse to take responsibilities. I accept the 50 percent discount on repair, but I also need a 12 month warranty on touch panel. Is it too much to ask for.? I have lost confident to Sony touch panel, and its look like Sony also have no confidence on their own touch panel and refuse to my request.

 • Touch stopped working at the bottom and top of the phone. Got replacement part on order. Hope install goes well cause I really like the phone

 • I tried that many times and still not working! I think that is some software problem, because double tap to sleep (off) working good!

 • why I restart my sony xperia z3 once a week. is there any benefit??

 • Just look at Settings -> Display (or Screen) -> scroll to last item Try to activate / deactivate and maybe reboot needed..

 • Double tap to wake not working! I got Marshmalow 6.01; does anyone has some idea to fix it?

 • I bought it in July, 2015 and it's still rocking. Battery life deteriorated a little, but it still lasts a day no problem. The USB and SD card flaps failed on me two times. If you haven't, install the Concept Marshmallow ROM. It breathes new life into this phone.

 • I've had it for 2 years now, and I'm satisfied as it's reasonably good quality, considering the fact that there are no failure-proof devices. The phone jack and the SD card slot started giving me trouble after about a year but the warranty service was super fast & smooth and cost me 0$. Now it's ok. The processor & RAM are doing a fine job as everything works with a decent speed (was instant at first, now it's just ok) and the system hangs up almost never. So yeah, it cost me some money but definitely saved my nerves. He's my friend now ;-) The only thing I regret is upgrading Android up from Kitkat. It looked so cool and worked faster, and some of the older apps don't cooperate with Android 5 or 6. Lollipop was a disaster, and now Marshmallow is ok, but it's still not what I bought this phone for. Anyway, it's not about the phone, so I'm just ranting :).

 • Z3c latsest android is 6.0

 • I have it 1.5 years now. it is a good phone but battery dies verify quick after 1.5 years. Cant do full day. Battery drops +10 % / night.

 • I am having the unglued screen for the second time beacuse of this the proximity sensor has stopped working. And it the micro sd card slot is not working properly my phone won't see it until I restart it. I am about to buy a new phone can you guys suggest any?

 • my z3c is having a problem regarding to the wifi / Bluetooth, it will just automatically turned off after a long hours of browsing internet on the phone and also for the Bluetooth when im playing music to my JBL charge 2 speaker. could anyone has the same problem with the phone?

 • my number doesnt show up on other people's phone when i call them. under caller ID "show my number in outgoing calls" is selected. anyone any idea what can be wrong? thanks

 • Sony Xperia Z3 Compact vs Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) ?

 • Sony XPERIA Z3 compact... best compact phone after 2 years...good camera, good build, good battery, good screen..next phone will be a Sony compact...Z5 ....Z6... .

 • Please use sony companion for updates.

 • Update using sony companion using a computer..then update your phone.

 • I have the same problem. Had my D5803 in the drawer for a allmost two years (until i finally got around fixing the broken screen). Now i am stuck at the version it had last time i used it - 4.4.4 And software update shows i am up to date! :-(

 • I have the same problem, i tried all suggestions from Sony and the problem continues worst. I lost my money. I have to buy another phone, a Motorola.

 • i just got mine a week ago. No issues but stuck on android 4.4.4 My model number is D5833, isnt the official update already available?

 • 24.5 months and the drop down menu stopped working. Doing a touch screen test shows the top of the screen touch sense has failed. Front camera died a while back, i don't do selfies so never bothered me. I will contact Sony to see what they say. The phone is like new in a case and screen protector all its life. Shame as this has been a brilliant phone.

 • I've had mine for over a year and although the charging cover insulating rubber came off it still closes and that is the only fault. It is brilliant. I've added an extra 64gb mem card and all good. The front facing camera is a bit pants, but I'm not into selfies, so I don't care! The battery lasts and lasts and I am happy with her. Sorry if you've had a bad experience! I have put an extra layer of gorilla glass on it only a couple of pounds! I also keep it in a wallet style case cos it's so slim and shiny I'll lose it or drop it!

 • Had exactly the same problem after about the same period of time, plus the memory card randomly popped out at times and it was very difficult to put it back in, and the top speaker was losing contact because of the display being unglued and I had to press the top right corner to be able to listen and for the screen to be lit during calls so I could hang up. Luckily, the certified service provider took care of everything and now my phone is as good as new!

 • touch screen faulty

 • Complete waste of my money!!! After a year the damn thing doesn't work properly anymore. The touch screen area is a sh$#%t!!! The home area stopped to work with no reason. I've tried everything recommended in all posts and nothing has worked so far. I have an another cell phone (that one with a bitten fruit as a symbol) for years running the last OS beautifully!!! I do not recommend the Z3 at all! Trust me!!!!

 • I have this phone by 20 months, now. Very good performance when it's working but... - at 16 months the glass ecran start to unglue and the ear sensor stop function. So I couldn't turn off the calls. Repair on warranty took a month, which disturbed me a lot. - At 19 months (until now) the spring that retains the microSD card stop working, so the card goes out the slot. I loosed the card memory, so musics, photos, videos and some aplications. - Now, also the batery seems to be tired, as it took only a day to empty. When new, it tooked 3 days. As I already know that it will take another month to repair and I need it to navigate, I'm waiting for the better oportunity to send it for service. Before the 24 months limit warranty. Meanwhile, I'm looking for another phone to substitute it during the repair time...not a SONY, obviously!

 • Agree with you, i will buy sony phone again

 • Got a new one back after 1 month from insurance, after massive damage (my own fault). Used a iPhone 5 and a Samsung A5 in the mean time. Damn those iPhone are annoying and the whole touchwizz is too messy. I missed my little sony a lot. For sure this is the best phone for me. Maybe not the most rigid phone but I like the small size, the still snappy speed, nice relatively clean androidskin. camera maybe a bit outdated by now. But I am not a big photograph anyway. I do have to say that the loudspeaker is not very loud as I would like it to be. All in all a nice proper phone for single hand use with still more than enough speed and good battery life. I never experienced those unwanted shutdowns or touchscreen failure.

 • My z3 compact battery drain very fast after 14 month use please help me

 • Dont buy. I have been advised by local repair centre that Xperia phones have a design fault that results in common screen failure at around 2 years old. Cost of repair is similar to new phone according to the sony repair centre I just spoke to.

 • Its the best ever !

 • what did u expected to last u 10 years......!!!!

 • Great phone, fast, reliable, good camera and still working after 26 months of use. Plan on having it for next year or two at least.

 • Don't buy Waste of money phone becomes unusable. Keeps restarting all the time. Not reliable. Touch screen no good. Slow Camera is low quality. Waste of money\Bad investment

 • The touchscreen on my phone stopped working after 14 months of use and I'm still thinking whether I'll keep buying Sony smartphones. I'll give Xiaomi Redmi 4 a try this time.

 • We own the same phone, keep using it and I dare you to STAND BY YOUR OPINIONS until you cannot use your phone.

 • Overall high quality phone, BUT WILL NOT LAST more than 1.5 years, problems start with regular use and now touchscreen is not functioning. I say NOT WORTH THE MONEY. (never buying a Sony phone again.)

 • guys this phone is good i will give it a 9/10. evry smart phone is fragile and have its own weaknesses.

 • Love the phone, no issues whatsoever. Quick, reliable. Does what a smartphone should do. Am not a gamer, so can't speak to that.

 • Had been 25months used it, recently come out with the battery problem, it will crack out either your back panel or LCD. Lucky my Z3c is crack out from my back panel, I replace the new battery from Sony hope can last more 1 year.

 • Just avoid this phone!! Got it replaced on warranty less than 6 months ago (drop-down menu and back-button stopped working), no it has started with same symptoms again, no drop-down menu! Phone still looks like new, no cracks or scratches anywhere. It is ok when it works, however it does not seem to work for a longer period of time!!!

 • Perfectly OK phone, excellent charging dock available, good battery life, haven't tried the weatherproofing to extremes but it's survived an outdoor lifestyle for 21 months. I agree with previous comments that the rear body material is flimsy: mine has been in a hard case from day 1 and it still has 2 cracks which will have to be fixed before the contract expires. I like the technology but for this reason would probably not buy another.

 • It is a good tablet phone that has all the features that I am happy with. I have no problem with all the features that it provides. However, I dislike some of the installed applications that cannot be deleted. Some of the applications are taking up much of the space in the tablet. Overall I am still happy with this tablet./

 • Nice . it look good. but the problem is touchscreen

 • Avoid! No idea what material is it made off. Have cracked LCD and rear panel twice over two months! Can not express my disappointment. It is working fine, but honestly, that is the worst screen material ever!

 • I have had the Z3 Compact for 2 years now, it served me very well as a smart phone, but it had some negative points that i would like to share:- - the camera is not good, focus is bad, high noise in low light (If camera is an important factor to you, re-think before getting this phone) - sound volume for loud speaker during calls is low, if you are in a car or a low noise is there you can not hear it. - currently i am changing the phone due to a touch screen issue, the issue is that the screen got some dead spots on it, where the touch is not responding, after several searching on the web it seems to be a know hardware issue, and the screen needs to be replaced. All of all, as mentioned the phone served me for 2 years with no hardware issue, and played it's role fine, now i'll just try to sell it to any store with the screen issue, and will but a new phone (Not a Sony).

 • Phone is excellent. Good battery life, flexible, easy to put in the pocket, good photos and performance. Also good sounds. But the touch screen is very bad. In many devices, the touch screen get failed. That is the only issue. Water resistancy can be avoided with the time.

 • The Z3C is a terrific phone. Perfect size. Fits in the pocket well. Takes great pics. Awesome sound quality. I have had mine for about eight months. No issues at all. Highly recommended. Very reliable.

 • Guys, I do not recomend Z3C. I have send it to Sony service again. After 16 months of normal usage, the wi-fi got broken. Couldn't turn it on. They have replaced the motherboard. It's a common issue, because one (or several?) batch of mo-bo's was faulty. 3 months after that (a week ago) my touch screen started to act funny. I can not drag the notification panel down. Sometime it works, most of the time not. It's reported by lot of owners. In some cases Sony refused the warranty claiming the moisture got inside. But its IP68 phone! Mine have never seen water, never been in a pool or anything. Sony does not have the spare parts for displays anymore so they are returning the full price. So I had the phone 3 weeks in service in August and now maybe another 3 weeks till I get the refund. I have ordered Samsung S7. Hope it will be better. PS: My Z1 is still working 3.5 (4 maybe) years perfectly. I have only replaced the battery.

 • Not practical phone. Put it to a showcase and it will be OK. But start actually using it and it will be quickly broken.

 • Any phone is fragile. It is a small computer. This is not an exception. Cover your phone or buy one which can handle run down by a monster truck. I love this model: it's a good size, it's working as it should, screen and camera is good and there is power to run my apps. It would be even better if Sony would not launch an update which removed battery saving mode options.

 • Yes, this phone is extremely fragile. It has a rubber flap to cover the SD slot and USB jack (as well as other flaps that are not problematic). You must detach the flap to charge the phone, at which point the flap hangs on by a rubber thread. After about 3 months, this thread inevitably broke, at which point losing the flap became just a matter of time. After losing the flap, there was no protection for the SD card, which therefore occasionally popped out. This led to a premature failure of the SD card latching mechanism, so now the SD card will not stay in the phone at all. Replacing the latch costs about $100. Furthermore, the back of the phone is made of glass. The back glass of my phone shattered into pieces after 1 month due to a 3 foot drop on pavement, and in handling the pieces I could see that the back glass is exceptionally thin. I believe the back glass is much more fragile than the front. In contrast, I believe the Z1 compact has a plastic back, and its SD slot and USB port are covered by independent flaps, so when the USB flap breaks off and gets lost, the SD card will remain protected. These flaps are adjacent, however, and so opening one might dislodge the other, which might result in the same problems as the Z3 compact. The best solution in the Z compact line may be the Z5 compact. It also has an independent SD slot flap, but it is nicely isolated from everything else, so it should stay closed and protected. I believe the Z5 compact does have the thin-glass back, however.

 • fragile !

 • Sometimes my z3 compact turns off and on the mobile data even though it shows it's on. Any ideas on what should I do?

 • This phone is great when it works, but EXTREMELY fragile. I've never dropped this phone and the screen on it shattered twice! I put a leather protective case on it as soon as I got it (the wallet-style kind with a flap that folds over the front screen and covers it completely). The first time it broke, I was told by the repair shop that the keys in my pocket may have pressed against the screen while I was walking, and broke the glass THROUGH THE LEATHER COVER. I still have no idea how it actually happened. I wear baggy cargo pants and carry 3 house keys on my key ring. Anyway, $150 later I replaced the screen only to have it shatter when I tossed the phone from my hand onto my wooden desk. The phone dropped 1 to 2" (still in the protective case) from a diagonal, underhand toss. This was not a hard throw, and lo and behold, the front and back screens both shattered. This was about a week after the first repair. Since the repair shop doesn't guarantee against physical damage, I’d have to pay them another $150 to get it fixed. No thanks. I had them put on a temporary screen so I could back up my data, pulled my SIM and gave them the phone so they would waive the cost of "data recovery". I am so glad to be rid of this phone. Its specs can't be beat, and I love the fact that it's a smaller phone, but you can't sneeze near this thing without breaking the glass. Oh, and as soon as the glass cracks, the digitizer stops reading a large portion of the screen. Sony really dropped the ball on the manufacturing. I’m never buying another phone from them again. I couldn’t eve unlock it the second time, hence the temporary screen. My Galaxy S3 mini came free with a two-year contract, and that thing lasted 3 years without a scratch. It’s still sitting in my desk, perfectly functional, but in need of a new battery. When will companies understand, ultra-light phones with space-ship features aren't worth ANYTHING if they break because a butterfly flapped its wings in the next town over. We want reliability!

 • It's a very good phone, fast and reliable, good photos and excellent coverage.

 • Got my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact about 8 months with Vodafone. Upto this phone I loved Sony but this is the worst phone I have ever owned. Straight away notice it's signal reception was worse than my previous phone (Motorola Defy) and to stop calls breaking up I had to select GSM reception only every time I arrived home (or any area with a weakish signal) and use wifi for the internet. The phone seemed incapable of detecting the 3g signal was not good enough and use the gsm signal instead! Then after 3 months the proximity sensor failed, not long after this I found the srceen could not be turned off so the battery life was halved. So I had to send the phone away to be repaired which meant the phone was wiped clean and all data lost. Then about 3 weeks ago I noticed a crack in the back running from the camera hole to the far corner, It was very hard to see so I don't know when it happened but I have NEVER dropped the phone. Finally about a week ago I had the phone in my front pocket whilst laying on soft grass and rolled over onto my front, heard a crunch, inspected the phone to find both front and back crazed. I know they are glass but I could not believe how fragile it was, I am not a large guy and I certainly did not feel the phone dig into me or anything like that. Whats more Sony repair/support refuse to tell me if this damage may be covered by the warrantee, I have to send it to them and if they decide it is not I have to send them £20.54 just to get my phone back unrepaired if I am not happy with their quote. This was an expensive phone and I am peed off enough with it without having to put a load more money into it!!! It has totally trashed my opinion of Sony.

 • Rear camera not working!

 • is there any problem like this on z5c?

 • no . i say turth nothing else but i think you a apple our samsung troll ! right ?

 • Thanks for the heads up.

 • Is this problem occur in regular XPERIA Z3 I meant Xperia Z3 (5.2'' screen)... ???

 • Are u a sales man of Sony?

 • Glad to hear that but I will not recomend you to buy any phone having SNAPDRAGON 810.... Buy Xperia X compact Instead of Z5 Compact. o other hand choice is yours.... :)

 • MY Z3 compact model for the last few days ringing tone not hearing and embarrassing situation that I fact that my contact assume that I don't pick up and some callers say that they don't hear the ringing tone too while calling. Any solutions or I take the phone to SONY centre. ??

 • I have had this phone for almost 2 years now and love it. Had no issues and it's still fast even with a ton of apps on it. I took good care of it and made sure to do "housekeeping" on it every now and then but cleaning up apps I didn't use and making sure I kept the software updated. I am almost done with this cell contract and I will be getting the Z5 Compact in 4 months. Keep it up Sony!

 • Good back to ios android is not for apple trolls!! When you learn how much sony phones quality are they then come back and burning here and say some jokes!

 • Noob plz sony after google is best manufacturer s take care about his customers and update there phone to highest android system update and there phone quality awsome as well. And i bet there is no company batter then sony on support the customer

 • It's because your display's digitzer stopped working. Digitizer is a layer over the LCD display which senses the touch and converts it to a digital signal. It's a well known problem of Sony Xperia Z3 compact devices and thousands of people have already complained about the same. It generally starts after 1 year of usage. First you face difficulty in pulling down the notification bar in home screen. Then you loose sensitivity of back and home buttons at the bottom. After that it spreads like a cancer and disables the entire screen. There is only one way to get rid of this. Change your display. If warranty is still valid, you are lucky. Otherwise you have to pay almost half of the phone's cost to Sony to get it repaired. But if you are in Chennai, you can get it done within 4000 Rs. There are many shops in Ritchie street, Mount road who will replace it with a good quality after market display unit and it will come with 100 days of seller warranty. I got it repaired there and it's still working fine after 4 months.

 • been using sony mobile phones for 5 years and this unit has been the worst ever!!..very annoying and disappointed,!...home button, back button, drop down screen not working anymore!..any recall sony manufacturer.???

 • The worst phone I had ever... In 22 months it was failed 2 times the touch sensor, and once the screen and twice the back sealing unglued... Its so unprofessional form SONY brand... Before this phone i had 4 sony phones, but this one was the last one... If you have is, sell it quickly!

 • Sony doesn't really care to this phone, all sorts of problem starts due to recent upgrade! i thinks its intention for you to change your phone! piece of advice choose another brand!

 • I 've been using this phone for last 2 years. It was the best till my update to android 6. Then back button stopped working. Now, this spreading like cancer many spots stopped working. Tip: activate glove mode from settings>display it may help a bit.

 • Touch screen starting to fail after 21 months gentle use. Suspect it's a hardware issue rather than the recent update. V disappointed. Android backup/restore sucks compared with IoS - so many settings not included in backup. Back to Apple for me.

 • This is just a temporary solution. The reason you are not able to open the notification bar is that your digitalizer (active screen) is on its way to total breakdown, top part has become non-responsive! The app just moves the 'activation' to another part of the screen. Soon your back-button will fail, then slowly rest of the screen!! Been there, changed phone!!

 • what is the difference between snapdragon 801 and 650

 • Worth buy this z3 compact or not?and why in facts?phone owner answer

 • use superior auto mode for taking photos in auto mode the photos are 8mp but if you look at the photos on a computer, it takes great photos

 • Hi guys. Coming from an iphone 5s the worst thing in this Z3 compact is the weak quality photos. Too much grain, how can this be possible? Anyway in all other aspects I prefer this phone over the iphone 5s. But I need to ask you guys one big favor... Please!! Tell me the best settings for photos. Bettter photos and this phone will be perfect to me. Thanks in advance

 • Or simply just install Notification Bar Opener from Play Store. It will let you open the notif bar by touching the floating button on side screen

 • Thanks a lot for your help. This issue was killing me for past few weeks. Atlast it worked and I don't have to struggle with the notification bar. Thanks again buddy.

 • Had been 2 year I'm still using this phone, work great doesn't has any problems. I'm waiting next year for the XZ's new series, hope Sony come out with new feature and a new look for the phone.

 • Got touch screen issue after latest update. Notification bar can't able to pull down, so I sent it to service center under warranty.

 • Bar at bottom stopped working.... and top 2mm of screen, so can pull down.... after software upgrades.

 • Touch problem exactly on bar where notification, data/wifi signal, battery & time shows. I cant swap down. Did diagnosis test and faild exactly above said mentioned area even removed protect paper but same.

 • I also have the z3 compact. I was happy with the phone in general. Good speed for apps and video (RAM/Processing), nice camera quality, lots of space with additional sdcard (microsdxc 64GB no problem). Works perfectly with car stereo over Bluetooth, multiple car radios and other Bluetooth equipment.I use the Sony music app which does the job mostly for me (foobar is a nice alternative for me though). I do have the issue with the audio jack not working properly, not even after cleaning it out thoroughly and this was within a year of use. Currently after more than 1,5 year of use I have an issue with the touch screen not working properly. First no touch in the middle of the screen, a little later also the top and bottom hardly ever work. Sony (Europe) did respond to my request about service and that I can send it to them for analysis and repair and if it is considered warranty they will cover it. I plan to do that as the phone is good apart from this. There is less bloatware then with Samsung on the Sony, but it is comparable to HTC and others with still enough annoying apps you cannot uninstall and a skin that may or may not be to your liking.

 • I have sony z3 compact, ZR and Z3.. I faced hardware problems in all 3 Sony set.. Hands-free Jack problem, motherboard problem. I recommend you to not purchase Sony phone... If u purchase it it will disappoint u with the hardware issues..

 • Who else here have lcd touch problem? first the top notification bar cant pull down. Second, the back button on bottom is not working. Third, some parts of lcd in the middle cant touch anymore. ang Lastly, the 3 buttons is not working anymore and the problem with the middle lcd touch problem gone worse. Its like a cancer.

 • Mine was changed under warranty. U can try at some other repair shop.

 • Oh, it is broken. Happened to me and got everything new except motherboard in my phone. I had luck that my phone is still under warranty.

 • Perhaps the touch screen was faulty before upgrade (Android 5->6). Possibly Android 5 used more surface of touch screen to open information bar. But Android 6 added App Search Bar and Menu. This bar opens also pulling down on the screen. The upper part is limited to informatin bar (top 5mm) and lower part for (new) app search bar and menu. If phone is locked then this information bar opens also if moving the fingers much lower part of the screen. *#*#7378423#*#* and choose test -> touch screen Do the test and move finger on the upper edge. Do you have a continuous line up to the edge? I had the same error with two phones. Unfortunately I can not test it with Android 5. If anyone has Android 5 please test how low you can move fingers to open information bar.

 • I dont think your screen is broken because i have the same problem after the update. I think we just have to wait this one out- untill a new update come. i was worried i broke my screen too untill i read your comment.

 • Touch screen display is broken. You can check this using service menu. Type just (such as making a call) *#*#7378423#*#* and choose test -> touch screen.

 • I used sony experia z3,when i call to others my phone display will of i cant open after 10 min wat can i do?i feel very sad used sony experia z3 phone, any one help me how the proplem will solve.

 • I have had all your problem after update 6.0.1 i have shout down and restart several time for 2 frustrating days the problem has gone by itself.

 • Got my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact about 8 months with Vodafone. Upto this phone I loved Sony but this is the worst phone I have ever owned. • Download SOUNDABOUT App for play store. It salve your headphone and speaker problem

 • I have been using this phone for 1 year now and I must say that this is the best smart phone I have ever had. I like small phones for convenience in carrying. Sony has put the best features in a small size - bright display, excellent battery life, powerful camera, no issues with software - with continuous updation, very attractive double glass casing and a dedicated camera click button. This phone will definitely go in the list of top 5 small screen cameras available in market today.

 • It you can't pull down the notification, maybe you can try installing zen ui launcher from asus. I use lenovo phab and having hard time pulling the notification bar because it's too high. I tried installing zen ui launcher. With it, you can pull down the notification bar by swiping down anywhere in the homescreen. Once installed, long tap homescreen, choose preference, tap homescreen then choose swipe down gesture. Hope this helps.

 • Would u plz tell me the price if flap. Bcoz when I went to Sony care. They was charging 1300 for one flap

 • I am sure that never buy Sony due to it is quickly dead (around 1 year)the screen. Notification bar can't pull down and home back recent buttons not working.

 • never buy sony z series most of the phones has display issues i had z3 compact 1st it had no problem but slowly problem occurs your display will go of slowly sony had made progress in z5 series there arent more display faults in z5series i have to change my phone display

 • I have a xperia z3 compact and the proximty switch is not working, i contacted amazon.de and they washed there hands and told me to contact sony.de, regret to have bought it since not even a year passed and it s still under guarantee.

 • You need to change the touchscreen. It's a hardware problem and Sony isn't bothered. See the forums! After changing touchscreen, you'll have issues with proximity sensor :) .Will never buy a Sony..

 • Do not buy Sony.... it has the worst service center.

 • After updating to the latest firmware and my device running build number 23.5.A.1.291, my phone doesn't recognise headphones anymore and thus can't use the radio or listen to music on with any pair of headphones. Any solutions?

 • GREAT phone... Of course both sides are glass so put a protector on it. DevilCase I have been using for 2 years and is great. Had one protector finally shatter but phone was intact.

 • After a month of use and without any fall, its back cover glass broke, when it was standing on a desk. I was shocked, that it is impossible. I will never buy phone like this.

 • I'm using my second z3c for just over 4 months after cracking my last one after 1 year. I keep it in a case so it's so far been safe from any damage. The latest system update seems to have further improved the battery life and I'm really happy with it. I love this phone so much that only thing I hope is not to crack the phone again. Otherwise it has all I need. Size, weight are unbeatable amongst all the recent Sony minis and speed and camera are more than good enough for me. I don't care if there's no more android upgrade.

 • The back is made of glass. It breaks. Really easily. Just a wee drop. You don't need glass that you can't even see through on the BACK of your phone. I want a polycarbonate phone. That's plastic. It doesn't break.

 • My screen stopped working after 1 year. Unable to pull down top notification bar. Any solution?

 • The thing is Sony tried to give us and I appreciate that. It would be really cool if they would update the UI

 • Same problem with my phone. The touch sensitivity lost on top, bottom and one vertical band. Sony Service center estimated parts-replacement worth of 135$ (9000INR) I am getting the whole front panel black color, Display and touch screen replaced for 75$ (5000 INR) @ Bangalore, India Checked online it is available for same cost.

 • btw, the phone is upgradeable to 6.0.1. This page says only 6.0. if somebody knows how to update the data, please do it.

 • My screen stopped working after 1 year. Unable to pull down top notification bar. It's happened to both my and my gf's phone. Any solution?

 • Take it to service centre.

 • Yup google & Qualcomm have shown us the middle finger.

 • Get the flap changed. They are cheap. Mine was replaced under warranty.

 • Not facing any such problems on phone after 6 months.

 • It depends on how well flaps are closed. I won't use my phone in pools but rain is fine.

 • on my phone battery drains fast only while watching videoes. Screen is only thing that eats battery fast & it is a MarshMallow issue not Sony's fault.

 • I'll try my best not to buy any phones from sony anymore. Not functioning notif bars and bottom buttons are extremely frustrating. Im happy for just 1 and a half year

 • Too all Sony Xperia Z3 compact owners do not be fooled by Sony's waterproof advertisements as all of it is a farce. Sony's legendary durability has sadly faded away, and my deceased Xperia Z3 Compact is a sign of the decline in quality of Sony's mobile devices. If you want your Xperia to last then don't use it in the rain. I regret buying this phone.

 • Sounds familiar. After 3 months - changed motherboard, but on warranty. After another 6 months - screen (digitalizer) not functioning - phone replaced on warranty. Repair and replacement free, however I had to buy a 'replacement' phone while in repair at almost the same cost as the Z3 due to long repair time! This in Malaysia.

 • 1- It costs Rs. 33600/ 2- Within 2 months it became dead 3- Sony took 3 weeks to change motherboard in Jaipur 4- Within one year of changing motherboard touch screen gone kapoot 5- Sony asks Rs. 10000/ to repair 6- So within two years it costed Rs. 43600/ 7- It also proves that mobile brand like Sony can't work continues smoothly even for a year 8- At any given moment of working hours one can spot at least 50 Sony mobile consumers to sort out their handset problems at Sony's service center in Jaipur, that also proves that there is some quality problem with Sony.

 • EDIT: I'm "NOT" having problems

 • Always always always do a "FACTORY RESET/RESTORE" every Major Firmware Update!!!! I'm having problems after updating my Z3 Compact to Marshmallow and of course I always Factory Reset.

 • we are not getting android 7.

 • you can do a factory reset. it solves most of your problems

 • niv's right. Since 6.0.1 update battery drain is a constant problem thus I had to buy a portable charger. Even if I only listen to music, it drains rather fast.

 • Hi all! I'm a huge Sony fan, and I love this phone, but I don't understand how you all can say that camera is great and battery last 2 days... Even being a 20Mp, compare to some other 15mp cameras by other famous brands, I expected way more than that (there's always a light grain/disturb in the pic). About the battery, I don't know you guys but aftet the last update it barely last a day...if I used for a few hours for navigate or write emails it drain extremely fast!! I would love if any of you could share with me their settings to reach best quality picture with the camera and longest battery life. Thanks a lot, enjoy!

 • Hi, I have the same but after the last update, battery last less than a day. How is it possible that yours last that much? Could you please share your settings for that battery life? Thanks a lot

 • Phone is great but do not update it to 6.0.1 as it's causing battery drain issue.

 • Hello everyone! I have this phone from September 2014 it's almost 2 years and I have to say that is a brilliant phone. Actually I have a iPhone 6s and a iPhone 5s as a company phone and couse the Sony z3 compact was such a solid phone I've just keep it. I've seen a lot of critics about this phone and I will share my experience with it. I've updated it to Android 6.0.1 and the battery still rocks, 2 days of hard use until I need to recharge it. As a fact I don't use 4G network, I stayed with 3G settings, and mobile data allways on. From the first days of use i've buyed pempted glass for the screen and also for the back pannel. I also use Ringke Fusion cover for protection. I've droped the phone accidentally 2-3 times from my pocket and nothing happened. The camera 20.7 MP is really good, the only backstab is the selfie camera wich is a shame :) blurry photos, low quality. I bought the phone from Romania, Orange network and was blocked in the network, one year aho I've buyed an unlock code from the internet and I've used it also on Vodafone network and Digi Mobil network, all is working with no errors. I've also tried the water resistant and if you drop it in water for 2-3 minutes or If you are talking on the rain all is ok. I've also changed the accesory from the charger port couse after 1,5 years of use it didn't fit well and water could enter from there... I really recommend this phone for any small smartphone...

 • Phones malfunction (unable to on the phone) within first year. another malfunction few months later. and 2 more consecutive malfunction within 1 and a half year. Total 4 times of repair one month plus for each repair. Worst ever compact sony phone. Never gonna buy sony again.

 • Probably the best compact android phone out there. Phone battery excellent. 1 full charge lasts me for days. Camera/Video is superb. Resolution is awesome. Haven't tried taking pics/videos underwater because the flap covering to charge the phone came off.. and that's really the only down side about this phone.

 • I am hardcore sony user i have changed 4 mobiles till now all were sony last one was sony xperia p which lasted for around 4 and half year ! than i bought sony z3 compact as i love small monster . The camera is excellent everything is great about this phone no breakage or anything even though using without any tempered glass ( fell few times even) never got heated up never got stuck no issues at all But now comes actual party recently i upgraded my phone and guess what i cud not pull down Notification bar i ran like that for 20 days and thought to upgrade more to latest software now i cant go back to home or even go back !!!!!! this is most ridiculous thing ever happened to cell so i checked on google and saw lots of them complaining about same thing !! i went to service station in Rajkot ( gujarat ) and they told me to completely change the screen and cast witthout even trying anything told me spend 15000rs (223$) which is almost half of what i bought never expected anything like this from Sony ! i guess this is last time i bought sony cell previous .

 • I own a Sony Z3 compact which is 1 year and 6 months old. When it was launched, I instantly took a liking to it. Being a smaller version of flag-ship, the Xperia Z3, Sony did not compromise on the specs on its smaller cousin. The best part was the battery life on the device. I could easily survive 3-4 days with one charge. A year later problem standing cropping up left and right. After every Android build upgrade, core functionalities would stop working. First serious problem came after Android Lollipop was released. The virtual navigation buttons became non-responsive especially the RECENT TASK KEY. The behavior became too erratic. 90% of the time it would not work. Contacted Sony, tried to repair using Sony PC Companion, Factory reset etc etc. Nothing worked. This went on for time, until Sony released a next build not Marshmallow. It seemed to fix the issue. Things were stable for few months. Then Marshmallow comes along and wrecks havoc on the phone. Try navigating to any screen, the phone will automatically switch over to previous screen and/or redo the previous action. So for e.g. I phone someone and disconnect, the phone would go automatically go back to "Contacts" screen and dial the first person on the contact list. I made sure there are no viruses, In fact i have a licensed Norton anti-virus software already running in the background. Again did a factory reset as well as repair Sony PC Companion. about 5 times. That didn't work either. All 3 navigation soft key buttons now freeze in portrait mode. Open an application and I am simply stuck. Cant navigate to the Home or back or view the the recent history. Have to flip the phone to landscape mode to carry out any action. But the most frustrating and embarrassing behavior of the phone is when it starts automatically taking you to the previous screen and starts as dialing a contact on its own. Has anybody noticed such agonizing fits with the device. Did a diagnostic tests several times but all hardware seems to be working fine. I am out of warranty and Sony don't even have solution of this. The hardware and software are not harmony anymore. I have never dropped my phone. I even discarded the screen protector. But the problem remains. Never thought It would come to this after spending a fortune on it. The phone should have technically lasted at least 5 yrs. So disappointed with Sony. Never going to recommend a Sony phone to anyone.

 • your display is dead

 • Dead at a door nail, after vibrating for days even turned off. Happened two weeks into a two month trip, thanks Sony. It won't even boot. This phone was already replaced for a camera that only showed black on the screen for forward and back camera.

 • Try flashing your phone with Flashtool, You need to download firmware in .ftf form.

 • Had the same issue, they told me it was because the screen was ungluing from the phone itself, my advice would be to repair it before it's too late, I didn't repair it and now I have to purchase a new screen and other parts from the phone, and it would take more than $150 and 30 days for getting the parts into my country. No more Sony phones for me, it's a really good phone but I can't stand the low working quality it had.

 • with marshmallow update battery is not sooo good as it was with Lollypop

 • My Z3c notification bar can't pull down and back / home / recent buttons not repsonse when using atfer 17 months. Why a lot of user in the world suffered the screen fault?

 • Yes, I am facing the same issue, even the touch does not work properly on the screen.Thinking to take it to service center.

 • The problem is than from android 5.0 on Z3 You can not use only GPS to navigate!!! - You are constrain to turn on wifi scanning - all nets around - what wiping out the battery in incredible speed - in opposite to annoying and misleading information. What is worse - this camouflaged impossibility to use phone only with GPS without all time scanning the wifi make navigation app going to be "mad" and all the time turning of gps and stopping to proper navigation. It is crazy - and most annoying function in Android phones on present... It is effect of some kind agreement among corporation to scanning wifi net all around the World... using US and Our money and time - why - You can imagine...

 • My phone Sony z3 compact, last time i used 4 months before, it was in working condition, now after a 4 months i charged it shows red light but its not switching on. i tried power and volume key trick as well, it was vibrating but still not working. Please Recommend.

 • A 'standard' error, only one solution: phone in for repair and change front glass(digitalizer). I managed to get phone replaced (under warranty), but probably only since less than 6 months since last major repair. Bought me a Samsung A3(2016)(as it uses a Nano SIM as the Sony) as 'back-up' as the SONY Z3 Compact seems to be the most unreliable phone ever made! Next time it breaks down : garbage bin!

 • after updating to latest software my home button and back button is not working ! any on facing the same problem

 • i am also facing same problem after update back button and home button is not working!

 • Lies!

 • I have the same issue. The screen is inactive on top and lower sections.

 • Why would you put your mobile in your pocket? Buy a case and and a belt carrier.

 • Z3C has a magnetic charging dock so you do not have to open the side flap for usb charging, but no finger print scanner. Z5C does not have a magnetic charging dock, only an external waterproof usb socket for charging and a finger print scanner. Your choice. PS: Z3C (model D5803) discontinued in the USA and is unavailable new.

 • Sony Experia update released in the USA, 08/12/2016, restores Stamina mode.

 • When the battery is very low the screen blanks out. When the battery is charging, the red light comes on!

 • After 17 months I ended up at the screen to change after the collapse of the private touch gradually top of the screen when quick shortcuts and then touch the lower keys. Is this a common holidays a year later in the series Z3 phones because I noticed it in Okthelr of complaint to others. How surprise was shocking to me because of the increase of the price of the screen outside the security it is unfortunate that the equivalent of one-third of the price of a new phone fully guarantee the agent within my Egypt . How I'm sad , my Sony

 • The best cover/case is by Incipio out of Southern California. Have used this company's products on both of my Sony Z1 Compact and Z3 Compact for 4 years. Front and back glass in perfect shape.

 • Have had 4 Sony phones - One Go, 2 xperia Z1 and now a Z3, bought last year. Or actually don't have it, cos the phone dropped out of my pocket onto a wooden floor and the screen scattered - like in splinters! This after the battery hardly stands for a day, the camera is so scratched despite their own protection cover, and charger cover can't close and the microphone doesn't work. So back to the Z1, which cant hold battery more than 8 ours and where a broken screen means no more usage (unlike z3 that still works a little). The bests phone was Go...since then all Sony phones have been shitty quality, and evenn the Sony store told me NOT to buy a z5 as the back cover breakes. Sony gorilla glass is like fine dining crystal glasses...so DON'T waste money on them even though the system inside works nice!!!

 • 4.3v? You know newer lipo battery formulations take up to 4.4v (3.8v nominal) right? Quick google shows replacement battery for Z3c is.... 3.8v nominal. Where's the overcharging?

 • Great phone had it for at least over a year now and never failed me. Also, the pictures it helped take were quite lovely. Battery long lasting and wasn't afraid to use it out I'm the heavy rain! Only down side was that it would get quite hot from play videos or games but nothing I haven't seen in other non-flagship phones. I'd Recommed it (:

 • Turns out that Sony is cheating with that 'incredible' battery life. If you install some of the battery monitoring tools, you'll discover that they are in fact overcharging the battery to 4.3 volts, getting some addidional capacity while decresing battery life twice if not threefold. You are not supposed to charge lipo to more than 4.2 volts.

 • realy shity phone , so disapointed, had two of them, both screens come off , so shity glue no way it can be waterproof , system works fine but phone is disaster!

 • R u using tempered glass?

 • yes, i've got the same issues after 17 months too.. touchscreen error and can't type well

 • A very good phone,... The o touch is the problem!

 • Hi can anyone tell me where I can get some sort of case or protection for this phone the glass at the back has a crack in it please i love the shiny back but it's very delicate only dropped it once not on a hard floor I have insurance but just wondered

 • Touch screen fails on some area after 17 months! Shortcuts in The Top Screen Marshamallow it's So Bad for Battery, Touch Screen and Heating

 • Touch screen fails on some area after 17 months! Shortcuts in The Top Screen Marshamallow it's So Bad for Battery, Touch Screen and Heating

 • I've had this phone for about one and a half years now and during this time the headphone jack socket has failed me twice and the back panel accordingly cracked itself due to uneven pressures under the glass :D Well premium quality they say? And I've never even dropped my phone,I also have a glass screen protector and a plastic case. This phone is damn fragile...

 • In line with previous comments, I wouldn't recommend this phone. The back camera is very poor considering it's 20MP and the front one is totally useless. The glass screen is incredibly fragile and it's cracked for the second time in the space of a month. And once the glass cracks, the whole screen becomes totally unusable. I'm cutting my losses and gonna sell it for spare parts. Disappointed.

 • Don't buy this phone! BAD CAMERA QUALITY even in high res settings and latest software update (too much exposure, blurred images, can't even capture moving objects). My phone's TOUCHSCREEN FAILS after 12+ months when warranty expires lol. A lot of XZ3C users are complaining online about the touchscreen issue. Useless phone after a year of usage.

 • A very good phone!

 • I am highly disappointed with your Xperia Z3 Compact phone. Earlier I had an Xperia P phone which was really great and this is the reason why I decided to buy a new phone not only for myself but also for my 12 year old son from the same brand. Unfortunately in mine the vibration did not work from the beginning, the charging port stopped working also relatively fast (now I use the magnetic one which means I had to buy an extra charging cable) and now after over a year of using it the screen cracked (the phone did fall, but so did my P, a couple of times actually, and nothing happened). But that is nothing compared to my son’s phone – it was repaired after the purchase twice – after only two days of use the back panel started ungluing and then when the phone was sent back from the repair there were some problems with the internet so it had to be sent back (it was a birthday and Xmas gift, so imagine a kid who got a present like that and was unable to use it at all for the first month or so). The screen got cracked twice – in spite of having been replaced with an original spare part which was also not particularly cheap. For the first time it actually fell, but for the second it was carried in a front pocket in a protective case and it had protective glass on it. These are not cheap devices, and they are meant for portable use, so how come they are so faulty and fragile? I expected much more of Sony. The company has just lost itself a customer and a promoter – because I did praise you a lot for Xperia P, and I will do just the opposite for Compact Z3. Sony logo has always made me think of something superior, of innovativeness and reliability, but from now on it will only make me think of disappointment and my child’s frustration related to something that breaks so often even though it is not his fault.

 • The touch screen panel at the bottom has crashed. This is what has happened to my phone recently. Does anyone if it's expensive to get fixed or is it not worth it

 • This is by far the worst phone I have ever owned. I bought this because it was the only phone on the market(in the US) the size I wanted, and with wireless charging, would have gotten the z5c if it had this. Charging ports are always a weakness so I wanted to avoid that on a more expensive device if I could. The big issues with this phone: 1. The build quality and materials are subpar for the job. The back panel was a clear and obvious engineering fail. How they could possibly think the material they used was up to the task is beyond me. The phone also has way way too much flex, which is part of why the glass cracks so easily. 2. The lollipop release for the phone was terrible, and caused significant battery drain. This you can solve by flashing back to kitkat, which is what I did. Marshmallow is not proving to be any different from what I've seen on the web thus far. 3. The microphone firmware has significant issues, it will not function correctly when making/taking a call. I have tried reinstalling firmware and all other suggestions on the web, none of which work to resolve the issue. This essentially makes this phone, unusable as a phone, unless you can always have it on speaker, in which case the mic works fine. 4. The auto mode for the camera is complete garbage, using manual mode resolves most of the issues for the camera, but switching between video and picture is poorly implemented. 5. The back light bleed at the top of screen is super annoying, this isn't an issue if you always keep the phone perpendicular to your face, but if you angle it away from you it is super visible, there's a perfectly white strip and it just makes the phone look cheap and again poorly engineered. 6. The signal indicator is another firmware fail, it often shows very weak signal when in fact you have excellent signal, this isn't a big issue, but is an annoyance.

 • That's right

 • Very bad camera quality :(

 • Touch screen fails on some area after 14 months!

 • I've heard about people saying this, but my Z3 Compact has been dropped from my bunk bed about 1,70meters up, or 5.5feet (yeah that's right, 5 point 5 feet, you do the fucking math if you want inches to follow your feet up :P) and nothing happened. This has happened twice; once without any type of cellphone case, but the second time i had a soft plastic case for it. I've also dropped it several times from around my waistline without suffering any type of broken casing, screen or even touch screen problems. The first time it dropped on the floor from 1,7m up it went straight fucking screen down on the floor and sounded like it made a perfect high five, and I was sure that must've broken it, but almost 2 years later it's still going strong.

 • Dude U are not supposed to use the phone in sea & chlorinated pool water; but only in clean water. Also, which tracking software do U use for treking ?

 • Hi all, I'm using Sony Xperia Z3 Compact for 18 months alerady. Overall satisfied with phone and camera quality. Get issues with SD card popping out of slot, faulty headphone jack and charging cover like others. I used phone heavily for pictures (in the sea and pools) and no complaints. Also using phone with tracking apps for hiking&running and battery life is much better than on other phones (iPhone 5S, Samsung S4 etc). Using protective glass from beginning and no problems with broken display despite it dropped me few times. Protective glass was broken but not display. I hope that this info will be useful for someone who wants to buy it.

 • All the people complaining about fragile glass, use tempered glass protector on front & back of the phones & then Enjoy.

 • Check if dust or moisture has gone into camera. It happened to me with my old phone in rains. After I got it removed, it started working fine again.

 • Ever heard about Tempered Glass ?

 • Ever heard about using Tempered Glass ?

 • This phone is ridiculously fragile. Had it fixed 3 times and each times within a few weeks (or a few days) a hairline crack would appear no drops, no even being in my pocket. I wouldn't really mind this is it was just a cosmetic issue but the tiniest hairline crack completely disables the use of the screen. Please do yourself a favour and don't buy this phone.

 • This phone is eggshell fragile. If you look at it wrong the touch screen will break.

 • okay first of all every one who says this phone is not water proof is beacuse they don't know what they're talking about im having it with me it bath every time i got yo bath im taking alot of 5k pictures with it yes 5k in the mauel option and it works perfect! i love this phone there isn't a game it cant take on highest quality but offcorse if you got 441 apps like i do no wait 413 apps just installed two more games an hour ago it will begin to get a few lag spike but just a few so in my opinion its a fine phone even if there have come alot of new and faster phones this phone will still work the next many years and keep up and for the money its cheap and ive dropped it way to many time it havent got a scrach (offcorse im using a back cover) but still it's not invisible nothing is i just like the phone and im gonna keep it for as long as possible the only problem with it is the apps there are so many pre installed apps like mail and sony apps i like sony so the sony apps dosent matter beacuse i use it alot but mail apps no thank im using google for watching mails offcorse i could root it but that would mean loosiing all my apps wich would be sad i would give this phone 5 stars out of 5

 • After just 10 minutes of actual use the back panel was cracked. Not a robust build quality that's for sure. If you put your phone in your pocket this is not a good choice, despite the perfect size for doing just that.

 • Goodbye Sony! - Underwater capabilities - some, but none; - Pink dot on pictures - got it after a while; - Faulty audio jack - checked; - Loose SIM and SD_Card cover - checked; - Broken touch display - only 1 mm on the right side; - Battery life - 1.5 days without heavy use (it was 2.5 in the beginning) I bought the phone in 2014, from Hong Kong and, seeing the commercials with underwater capabilities, I went to the swimming pool to take some cool photos. Bang! The phone went black out. I've changed it. I've read on the forums about a problem with a pink dot, but I said that there might be some haters out there because my phone, my second phone, was working fine. After a few months I started to see the pink dot. Same, on the forums, people were complaining about audio jack. They fixed it at a local service but after a while the problem came back. After exactly 6 months (like the "haters" from the forum) my jack started to behave strange. Because the magnetic charger broke, i've used USB charger for a while, now I cannot close properly the SIM cover. Again, this problem was present on forums. I've stopped checking the forums, but now I have another problem: the touch screen is broke on the right side for just 1mm. People warned me about Sony's bad quality products.

 • My wife accidentally dropped Z3c through elevator shaft, the fall was about 1,5 floor. She had the device protected by Frosted shield case and 9H protection glass, both from Nillkin. The phone did survive the fall and works alright, only the protective glass is shattered, and the case has 1 cm crack in one corner.

 • I didn't even drop it and the screen had a minute crack which caused the status bar not able to be dragged down. I changed 2 screens and they still crack easily. The Phone is a Great Phone, just that it needs help with durability........................ I do love my Z3 Compact after all. But really why do phones have to be glued together but not using old school screws and nuts...

 • My first xperia z3 compact fell and the glass broke, the glass and the LCD in this phone are glued together so the repair is not easy. I sent it to a tech shop for repair also knowing that I would lose the waterproof feature. They couldn't repair it somehow so I bought a new one. Now after three months the second phone suddenly crashes without notice and I can't restart it right away, I have to wait for some time until it's able to turn on again. It hast lasted a couple of days on, down to about two minutes, the crashes I believe are totally random and I haven't been able to find what's causing them. I used to love Sony, but now I won't be buying anything from them again.

 • Z3 compact LCD touch are somekind of disposable. I've purchased 3 in a row and all same problem. I dnt put in my pocket or drop. This phone is bad

 • It 'works' if correctly installed! There have been quite some issues reported from the up-grade, however it looks like most of them are due to a 'failed' up-grade and installation. I would recommend to do it by using the PC Companion software and the 'repair phone' menu. Remember to do a full back-up first. This way you get a clean install and less risk of crashes.

 • Greatest phone I have ever had. I am a sales rep and use my phone for business and am constantly on it. Making calls and using it to check my figures. Integrates perfectly with my work applications. Only issue I have is its time to upgrade... How do I make the choice.

 • Lately i got a notification that Android 6 Is available Is it good enough... What is your opinions Thanks a lot ...

 • Touch screen start to have problem just after 1.2 year, after warranty period. Seems lots of people got same problem. Angry!!!

 • Could be but I don't know then just doesn't seem right to me.

 • Brand 'new' phone, replaced by SONY on warranty, was even sent by SONY Support to their service station for up-grade to 6.01 and complete test before shipped to me! Did no 'tweaking', only installed general mail apps and security. Battery drop might be due to some apps having been up-dated during night according to notification.

 • This can't be more wrong battery dropping %15? Mine drops max %5 without power saving modes while sync WiFi and mobile data are always turned on. Try to repair your phones software via Pc Companion.

 • Finally got my replacement (warranty!) phone yesterday (Z3Compact) and got it set up. Transferred the most from the Samsung A3 (2016) that I bought while the SONY was a sent for repair. What a disappointment! The SONY works, at least for now, but: the SAMSUNG better screen, better key-board, better ring-volume and sound and not to forget battery life! The Samsung drops about 5% overnight, the SONY had dropped 15% this morning. The SAMSUNG might be slightly slower, however as a 'phone' mainly used for calling, e-mails etc I like the A3 better. The SONY might have a better camera, might be 'waterproof' to a certain extend, might have a sleeker design, but for daily function? To me the best about the SONY phones is the PC Companion software giving quite good possibilities to 'service' the phone, far better than the SAMSUNG Kies.

 • Completely agree . My z3 is an expensive paper weight. Very fragile glass and plastic casing. Disintegrates with normal use. Sony should concentrate on Tvs.

 • I have a Z3 for a year now. The camera was brilliant at first. But after 3 months of using it. The camera quality is terrible. It's not that I don't look after my phone. I update my anti virus and always chek up. I Love the other features though. But the camera quality is really bad. That for me is really disappointing. This didn't only happen to me. This happened to 2 of my friend's phones too.

 • I had the unglued screen issue and they repaired it for free still waterproof and they changed/fixed everything that had even the tiniest issue. Would it be correct if I say it is better than ever? I don't know. One thing I can surely say is that I would not change my phone to any other one out there.

 • I have z3c 1.8 year's, and it work like the beginning. Speedily and responsible to the top. I think sony's phone is the best phone products. My next phone without a doubt is Sony!!!! recommended for anyone's

 • I,ve been using Z3C for about 1year and Ringke Fusion cover to protect it so there is no problem like unglued or cracked screen.Although I usually run HD games like Mortal kombat X or Real Racing 3 It's been still performing like the first day I bought it , everything is fairly smooth and I can hardly find lag on it. I,ve updated it to Android M recently and it's completely in sync with my vaio laptop, I should say "I DO LOVE MY LITTLE MONSTER".

 • Sony Xperia Z3 should be ideal for you, given the accompanying highlights: Reduced, water safe body, IP68 ensured 20.7MP camera, 2160p video 4.6" 720p screen, IPS Stereo speakers Powerful Snapdragon 801 chipset Android 4.4 KitKat, Lollipop 5.0 coming soon It's amazing phone. 2,600 mAh

 • Well, i am using this phone for 1 year and almost 4 months. There are many pros and cons. Pros: battery life - all day long lte on, mobile data on, i still get home at 15-20%, at 8pm from 7am; GPS -best positional lock, using here maps. Before i had lg g2, the gps sucked ( lumia 920 at least on par with z3c if not even better); NO LAG - i have many apps and games on my phone, using a samsung class 10 sd card, no problems at all! I have at least 4 gb of memory empty on my phone and it runs like new; Android 6 - love it ( some don't) but i like the way it made my phone feel flagship again; GAMES - no game lags, full stop! Cons: fragile!!! - Though i dropped it a few times, even from my pocket while i was on a bike, it only had a few dents, it is very slippery and i dropped it from my van, rhe back instantly cracked. The screen is also very prone ro finherfrints and also scratches ( thank god i only have one visible) though i do not like cases and stuff. EARPIECE - so low i could not hear my mom talk during a funeral!!! This is the most annoyong thing to have on a phone! At first i thought i had hearing problems, but i gave it to friend to take some calls and they have always complained about how low the sound is!!! I do not understand why. Also the sound from the stereo speakers is very low!! DISPLAY - after about 6-7 months, the ipper left part of my display just unglued itself, amd it stickks a little further than my roght side. HEADPHONE JACK - Though i have an ipod for music, at first i used the phone for music too, with some top notch sol republic headphones. Now, the jack does not make the connection anymorr, with no headphones ( i have tried 30 pairs at least ) though it does not bother me so much. Another pro, as i forgot, is the rich package which also includes an usb otg cable ( more than 20 euros in my country). If the volume was fixed somehow, i would have given this phone 11/10, but i am giving it 8/10. What about you guys?

 • Absolutly agree...

 • 1.5 year use this phone and all I want to say is WOW about this phone

 • Hi guys, I really love my z3 compact, but after the lollipop update my phone's camera turns bad. very bad. so please can somebody help me how to downgrade to kitkat (stock version) officially. I'm very new to these kinda this so please explain me everything, treat me as a kid. Thanks in advance.

 • Nothing. He's just trolling.

 • Check their specs, design, prices & user experiences & decide for yourself. It depends on what U want from your phone.

 • I am not facing any such problems after the update.

 • what happened to the warranty ?

 • Great advice from Haffiman. It's always good to do a clean install when there is big software update. My Z3c battery lasts about day and a half of heavy use on MM. No lags, bugs, anything. Also, no Stamina mode. Sony did a good job with update, just install it correctly.

 • If you have access to a PC or lap-top: Download and install SONY PC companion. Back-up your phone. Run 'repair my phone' in the up-date section. Hopefully you get a clean new install of Android6. When re-installing from back-up, do NOT install apps, only private files like photos, contacts etc. Do a FRESH download of apps you need. Before re-installing back-up and files, test the phone to be sure it is working as you want it to work.

 • My Sony Z3 Compact was working just fine for over a year. Now I got this software update for the latest Android 6.0. I would not go away so I installed after a few weeks of dismissing it. BIG MISTAKE. Phone is hot all the time and battery is draining like crazy. Normally I barely would use up 50% in one day, now with same usage I deplete within one day. I tried to turn-off NFC. Lets where that brings me. Any advise is welcome. Worst thing is this update is not reversible....

 • Cable is EC803 Plug is EP880

 • Hey guys planning to buy a z5c or z3c which one is better pls help me out .. Want a compact phone and this is the best option for me I think !!

 • I recommend to stay on 5.1.1. New battery saving only works when you're not using it. Otherwise it seems to ise 100%.

 • so whats the best android for z3 C, kit kat, lolipop or & M? considering battery wise, whats the best version of Android you guys recomend

 • Z3 Compact . using phone for less than a year , phone went blank shows red led when try to charge . Doesnt come one and no one can repair . its now a paper weight Sony is useless

 • I got the Marshmallow update. It works fine.

 • Quite some comments in the SONY Z3 forum here:

 • Hello, can someone give me the specifications of the original power adapter of Z3 Compact, because i dont have the original adapter

 • Anyone help me. Today my Z3 got notification about availability marshmallow update. Build 23.5.A.0.575. I'm on lollipop 5.1.1 latest build. Is it worth to update? Anyone can tell me are there any issues?

 • Has anyone tried cynogen or any other mod on our phone ?

 • U must have received a bad piece.

 • There is no such option in Sony experia marshmallow update.

 • SKorap. Both 1st and 2nd rep at the local SONY certified and recommended/requested service shop. About your issue with 'loose' screen - a far too common problem, and seems to be increasing! The glue used is a type of thermo-plastic (like glue-gun) and heat is needed to soften it and remove the screen. With the increasing reports of 'overheating' phones after latest Android-update (6) how will that impact the glue? You are lucky if you are living in a country where they take customer service seriously and wants to protect the SONY brand name, I'm not that lucky.

 • My Z3 Compact's screen's adhesive got lose and the screen was kinda apart the phone and the speaker would not work 3.5 mm jack had a tiny disfunction. So I send my phone to Sony to repair I only ask for the screen and micro usb cover repairment they did a full check up and repaired for free I am just waiting for it to come back and I will see how they did it. If your problems won't come to an end you should make sure a real professional person repairs your phone.

 • My Z3 Compact will be my last SONY ever!! Twice in for warranty repair in 10 months of ownership. 25% of warranty time, phone in service center for repair. 1st rep: phone turned off when receiving calls+++= motherboard changed. 2. time: no back-button, no drop-down menu. Most likely error screen/digitalizer, but have not got that confirmed yet. Add to the grouses, an extremely bad and unprofessional service in my location: Malaysia. The phone might be high spec and high tech, but does not last for long, always need a back-up phone when it starts acting up!

 • In marshmallow SD card can be added to internal storage. But has sony provided this feature in their update ? I can't find it in my xperia Z3 compact ? Has anyone else done it on their phone ?

 • Try to "repair" by using PC Companion. Keep in mind your data will be deleted. It should not take 4 hours.

 • With the marshmallow the battery takes over 4 hours at 100% load .. :( and lasts half compared with the stamina :( :( very disappointing

 • thanks for the update man. nice to hear

 • Guys I send my phone to technic service and the info page says "Model Explanation: D5803/Exchange Unit/Dummy ExU/Black". What does it mean?

 • Wait a week Z3C, Z3, Z2 are running beta version of marshmallow. Sony has found around 400 bugs, a system update is coming next week. Z3C is overall a nice phone just needs some protection (cases and stuff).

 • Some other people with the same problem

 • One of the worst design phones I've owned.(z3 compact) There are alot of people online who ha e had the same problem as me. The top left corner of the phone comes apart from the case not waterproof anymore, also the jax piont broke as well. If you have a look this has happened to other people, Sony really fucked up with it.

 • All Xperia contains DRM on their own apps, camera included, so unlocking the bootloader wipes the DRM, so a few apps will be negatively affected. Good thing though that the main Xperia series are the only phones that I know that can be rooted through exploits, so no need to unlock the bootloader. I have had mine for slightly over a year, and just recently I got a hardware problem with the touchscreen not working partially (only the navigation bar...), fortunately still on the final days of warranty, so I didn't need to pay to get it fixed. It's a good phone, though I do miss the Z1's back glass and aluminum borders

 • How well is your touch working? because i just had the same problem with my sony xperia Z3 compact and my phone wont open because i cant get through the code lock as it doesnt type 4 and 5 .

 • Also, did you unlocked your bootloader? I read that it screws camera.

 • so hmm, planning to get z3C as i couldnt afford Z5C plus a lot of people say the battery is much better on z3C. what about after marshmallow update, does the battery remain the same. whats the best firmwmare for this phone. is it really gets heat as z5C?

 • Thnx for replyin. I did factory reset bt dint help. I will tell the result after softwair repair hopefully camera will back to original

 • I'm not expert in photography, but it seems to me that photos looks ok. Did you make a hard reset after upgrading to MM? I hope software repair will do the work for you.

 • I m thinking to repair the software via pc companion i hope tht wil fix the camera or else use my warranty to make a miracle. Anyone else having this issue?

 • Its been a grt smartphone until i updated to marshmallow. I was in kitkat for a realy long time dint update to 5.0 coz of the bad review i saw in google. And as marshmallow had a bad version goin on which had good reviews i tght of updating via pc companion without any hesitation bt as i updated everything i fyn except the most important thing the camera its like the same thing that happnd with xperia m2 in 5.0. Less detail, more Noise and high exposure. I hate the camera so much nw whatever sony does their updates r nt gud even after testing beta l is fyn i jst want the camera to b like bfr

 • I have submerged this smartphone underwater at least 3 to 4 ft and for more than 30 minutes while swimming in the swimming pool. It died on me. But after opening all the flaps and ive submerged it on rice for a couple of days and charged it for a day it came back to life. It also have experienced falling from the top of a bunk bed twice. Only complaints? Yes, the touchscreen on the middle part of my screen due to my wrongdoings :P Other than that, hats off to the hardware, Sony. ~PS if you have the option, if you have the option, never update your version beyond 4.4.4 (wish I can buy a brand new unit of this one, and may it give me another chance)

 • I was looking for it for a long time and recently I flashed 23.5.A.0.575 Customized NCB via Flashtool. I am in college and use it often, in the morning it is at 90-100% and when I go to sleep it is at around 30-50%. This is my recommendation.

 • Updated to 6.01 everything is OK except the badges don't work on viber installation watchapp any suggestions ;

 • What is The best firmware To have a longer battery?

 • I am able to edit music info perfectly even after update. In fact now picture gets saved for only 1 song & not whole playlist. Z3Compact [5833] from India here.

 • Man, you're borring.

 • My Z3 compact just died a month after marshmallow update. This seems to be a problem with most Sony phones. It was a good phone but after my experience i would not recommend it to anyone

 • I couldnt wait either, Im from Cro too, contact me if You want solution, I had the exact same problem, but have fixed it.

 • When i download and install android 6.0.1 on z3 compact i can't change my information music. There is no button for that. In the album all my songs have same artist and same album name. On android 5 i was able to do that. Does anyone know how to fix that?

 • WHY I can't change my music information on Android 6.0.1? Every song have a same producer and album and picture. Does anyone know how to fix that? Tnx

 • Got you! You are posting (or copy) the same post(text) on;sony z2,z3,z1,z3 compact? Why are u doing this? Because u love samsung or iphone?

 • sony experia z3compact phone is not worth it! its a trash ! i cant believe it, i was fooled by this brand! water proof? what a perfect lie overheating and you are unable to use it but, you can cook an egg on it! good camera yes, but after a week you need to say goodbye to your pictures if you didnt store it on sd. unareliable phone, screen wont fuction when its starts to heat.! a waste of money, im even ashamed of showing my phone to my friends coz if they borrowed it and start to heat,? well you cant use it again, screen wont function, and say hello to technician again and pay for technician repair fee again and again im so disapointed;they should have covered the tech fee or repair if issue is over heating, its not ourfault if sony experia is a garbage by// #epicfailinsony -----------------------------------------------------------

 • Did you took it to service center? It should be covered by warranty. Mine works perfect after MM update, no problems at all. Even battery backup seems improved.

 • My Z3 compact just died a month after marshmallow update. This seems to be a problem with most Sony phones. It was a good phone but after my experience i would not recommend it to anyone

 • Then select root directory. "/"

 • I updated it by myself, coudln˙t wait for the otain Croatia cause battery drain was so bad on 5.1.1, so disappointing. After clean flash it seamed that the deep sleep problem was solved on 6.0.1 but very next day awake problem is back :(((. Android system keeps my phone awake all the time, loading web pages with flash takes to long. Must say I expected much better performance :((.

 • Finally updated to 6.0.1 in Croatia! Via PC Companion. I made a fresh start and will post opinions in few days. For now, I see just some small UI changes and absence of Stamina mode.

 • On another note, is Camera2 api part of this MM update ? I don't see any new options to in camera other than changed UI. My 3rd party app is also not showing camera2 api. How to verify this ?

 • I got the update yesterday & updated today. Was ready for whole apps & data wipeout, but after update my phone looked same so I was happy that I won't have to reinstall apps. But then I noticed that many apps which were transferred on SD card are absent. Then I checked settings & the feature to transfer apps on SD card is gone. AAAAAAAHHHH ! WTF sony ?! why go back on such a good feature ? Now will have to restore all those apps again. But absense of this feature is really bad. I will have to format SD card too probably to clear the data of apps I had transfered previously.

 • Problem alert... Thank you in advance you guys! I know this is a common problem - very low speaker output. My Z3C were just fine the first six months, but now it is really terrible (bought it on july 2015). I know you can root it or change Google Music equalizer. This have not helped. I know got Marsmallow. ... What to do? Is it doomed? This concerns all forms of audio output except earbuds. Cheers you guys!

 • Updated to MM in India thru OTA update size 1042 MB. Now I am unable to connect OTG drive. It says select root directory

 • Stamina Mode will be back but in another form. Lets hope a good one :) Until then try to turn on the battery saver from Settings->Battery usage->Battery Saver

 • Yup I upgraded it to MM and battery life is bad now.

 • You should try with hard reset. I beleive that it solves most problems. Did you got MM update? Still waiting for it in Croatia...

 • My biggest regret is i upgraded the latest version update :( Battery life is mess now

 • Thanks! Mine has some issues thats why I asked :)

 • Sony, who else? :)

 • does it support OTG?

 • Who provided your warranty?

 • It's hardware issue. I took my phone to service center and they change whole housing and screen. Front glass, back glass and frame with all buttons and flaps. Within warranty! I'm from Croatia, btw.

 • I have the same problem it is just stop working, is this hardware or soft issue?

 • guys help me the front glass is half glued? It is about to come off I am so lucky I didn't put it in water I was hearing its voice but i wasn't sure. Obviously the voice is coming from the front glass. Please reply me asap the phone is new.

 • First digit is for dust the second is for liquid. 6 means dust proof. The 8 means "The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects."

 • Anyone facing issue of Jive? It says no longer supported on this device.

 • Is there any dual sim variant available in this model?

 • I wanted to buy this phone but sadly I can't seem to find a way to buy it. Anyone knows how to buy it in Malaysia Klang area? If not I'll buy J7 which also has very good battery life but not beautiful and as many features as Z3C

 • me too :(

 • can i ask if why until now i dont have a update for marshmallow???

 • why until now i dont have a update for marshmallow??

 • I now use a Samsung and so far it's 2 months since I got it, no complaints whatsoever.

 • suggest me which one have to buy

 • Do not buy, it's a wonderful phone truly but the reviews oversell them. I have trashed mine barely after 3 months. Has good sound, great pictures, doesn't hang. But overheats, not repairable, calibration issues at times, and definitely Not waterptoof

 • Is xperia x series UI is included in the marshmallow update?

 • hi all, I want to buy a compact mobile like Xperia Z3c ,can you please suggest about the features and complaints?? whether comparing with Samsung galaxy A3-2016 which one is great.....

 • Wait a bit... It should come soon.

 • Got Android 6.0.1 about one week ago, and after installation I had to add a data access point (APN) manually before Internet access was running again. Battery life is approx. the same as with 5.1.1 before. Still a great phone.

 • It seems that it is hardware issue. My phone came back today and MB is only thing that is left from the old phone. They changed everything!!! Screen, housing... It looks brand new now and works as it should. I just hope it won't broke again...

 • I am not getting notification for marshmallow update. It is not showing when I am checking in the settings also. With Xperia companion also it is not showing. I am in India. Please help.

 • Same issue in here.. I'm afraid this is the hardware issue :(

 • Took it to service center few days ago and still waiting for their response. Will post an update after they bring my phone back.

 • I have the same problem with you. can i ask what did you do?

 • yup. got te M update on my z3c (d5833). everything works fine, battery fine since im not using stamina mod in the previous version. one thing i didn't like is the search bar on the apps drawer (menu, or whatever it is). it is lousy that i cant disable it.

 • This is the best phone i've used so far. It runs fast as lightning, the camera is superb, the built quality is top-notch, the screen is surprisingly good for HD resolution. Note that i didnt mention the battery life because after update to 5.1.1 it has been lower by 2 hours of screen on-time.

 • Same issue here you can pull down the notification on the upper left side

 • I have a problem with notification area. Unable to pull it down from center of the screen. It works from left corner. I have 5.1.1 installed. Got my phone to service center today, will see what they have to say. Anyone had similar problem?

 • Who the hell said that Z3 compact is water resistant. When I keeps it in water every time its back and front both cameras are condensed. Every times water gets inside my phone's camera.

 • Same problem for me. The stats show that the main consumer is the screen.

 • Same problem for me. The stats show that the main consumer is the screen.

 • mine too... the battery drains so fast it barely lasts one day now even if it's mostly on standby. i deeply regret updating. any suggestions how i could solve the problem?

 • I think you'd better buy a phone with rubber housing instead of glass ! You are very clumsy !, How can you break a phone 2 times in less than two months ?

 • Does anyone know what the difference between the normal z3 compact and the Japanese version from dacomo? Beside frequency is there anything else? Is it true that only the Japanese version supports quick-charge 2.0?thanks guys

 • Not yet, even Indian support site is stating Coming soon. In fact my Z3C is still @ .232 whereas support site shows .264

 • Just updated my Xperia Z3c (D5803) in Finland and seems to be nice update with couple of new features but why leave Stamina-mode out?!? Yes, there is Doze but Stamina was one of the key features in Xperia phones. Also, that left side page on apps screen where you access Play Store, What's new etc. is gone :/ I really liked that. So Marshmallow update for me is kinda 50-50 result.

 • I got new update 1 hour ago. I didnt installed it yet. I have doubts about battery life and RAM usage. I think marshmallow use more of both. Whats ur opinion guys?

 • After the update the phone is quite faster but I am not loving the iphone kind of swipe to search at homepage. Battery does drain faster but not that much (without stamina ofc).

 • Bought this phone and 5 months later the screen shattered falling from a chair to the ground, could not use the phone anymore as the touch was not responsive. I bought an new original display, had a professional exchange it and put a glass screen coat for protection, but it broke again in less than 2 months. Besides, one of the side lids, the one from the charging plug, fell off, they are not resistant. I'm very disappointed with this phone

 • I updated and I will share my opinion later

 • Updated today and battery drain is huge

 • People go on Twitter & ask Sony Xperia Account about the update. Why U are not getting it ? when will U get it ? & so on. I do it regularly. They reply. Even if I don't like it I keep asking. So go do the same & let them kno.

 • Try to update using sony pc companian.

 • Anyone received Android M? I just received it in Turkey was not available until today.

 • Hi, im from indonesia I just receive notification software upgrade for mm. Can anyone help if its advisable to upgrade? I heard that there will be no stamina mode anymore and battery got drain faster after mm update?

 • U either got a defective piece or U are just faking because I have none of the problems U have mentioned.

 • Hi, i bought this phone with android 4.4.2 and i have firmware 23.0.A.0.247. I can't install latest android, it says that my phone is up to date...Does anyone know how to do it? THanks

 • I am not saying you are its a lie but I will share my experience. I bought a DISPLAY piece from the store (meaning used by many esp the screen), its been 3 months now, I have dropped the phone personally about 8-10 times on concrete floor ( I have a kid who's 1.5 yrs old and has dropped the phone few times as well). My phone is still very much in tact. I must say the phone that I bought is very sturdy

 • Xperia Z3c (D5803) in Finland = No marshmallow yet... ...slow ass rollout ._.

 • No..

 • okay, the mm update hit 2 days ago here in indonesia, but im still waiting for a confirmation about the battery life.. looks like its going to be a downgrade from opinions ive read. well, i wish gsmarena would give a marsmallow update review for z3 compact, or at least the battery endurating test review,...

 • Update not yet for my sony experia z3c in india. Anyone got marshmallow for D5833 in India?

 • Very disappointing phone. The specs look amazing, with for ex 20mp cam... but the pictures are lousy. The camara crashes the whole time and it is impossible to film more than just a few seconds before the errors and crashes. The screen got loose in one corner, which made the phone absolutely not waterproof. I got a new screen. a few weeks later i dropped the phone, i slided and i catched i with my legs, so i dropped only 10 cm to a wooden floor (which is not very hard, if i drop a wineglass here it doesn't break), but the screen broke and the touchscreen was not accessible anymore. I normally always had a case around the phone, because it is, due to boths sids glass, quite impossible to hold in a loose hand, it is so slippery. Even the sound was horrible. As long as making normal phonecalls allright, but speaker was very silent. The only thing that was really good, was the battery! I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

 • You can download application "Call Blocker" from Play store and with this program You can choose whose number You want to block.

 • Edit the contact. Phonebook>edit>tap 3 dots>select the last option and save the changes

 • Can amyone tell me if you can move Apps from internal storage to microSD card? Thanks for an answer :)!

 • How can u block someone with this phone???? I have deleted the persons number but I am still getting calls from them.......This is urgent..... I need this person off my case asap...

 • Yes i do agree, after update to marshmallow - 3 hrs of battery back up is decreased

 • Still no Marshmallow for my Xperia Z3c (D5803) in Finland. HTC One M8 Marshmallow rollout was already slow as hell and i guess this one is too :/

 • in which country ? It differs from country to country.

 • Are U saying that whole app can be moved to SD Card ? With the current OS version, only some part of app is moved.

 • Marshmallow begins for D5833 too- Xperia blog reported. Now we can update using Sony pc companian. I am waiting for OTA update.

 • Mine is from 5833 from China and hasn't got the 6.0 update. But my mother's 5803 from USA got it already. It seems like the 5833 is left for later, maybe 1-3 months because its in no beta program.

 • Is anyone got OTA update in India for D5833?

 • still the best phone

 • Yah of course

 • Can we move apps to sdcard after the update?

 • Pics r better but unfortunately i can see that battery is draining really fast after the update :(

 • what about camera? Is there is any improvement in the pics?

 • Ok i got the new update. Its approx 1 gb. Looks nice.

 • The update for now is limited to the US, Latin America, Middle East, North Africa, Russia, and Ukraine.(for D5803 only). If you had D5833 you have to wait. I am too waiting for the update.

 • second phone in 3 months its crap, will be going back to vodaphone as soon as they open, it is a real crap phone for my money

 • Where is it? In UAE started if you have any idea ?

 • Official marshmallow update begins for z3 compact.

 • Agreed that it has taken long but at least Sony usually delivers well optimized Android updates which i appreciate :)

 • Hello. What do you mean by trashy? And how do you know it lasts 2 years only? Please elaborate, I want to know, cause I intend to buy one. Thanks in advance.

 • I bought this device for 43,000 INR on EMI(the green one). I liked it very much. But within 7 months the phone stopped working, so they changed the mother board and it started working again.....but again after around 7 months the screen started to come out on its own. Now the phone is no more dust and water proof.. :( ....total expense to repair it and for making it water proof again is 10,500 INR. This screen adhesive problem is so common in Z3 compact. This phone is not up to the mark according to price. How can it qualifies to be a high end smart phone if people have to get it repaired every 6 or 7 months

 • I am dealing with the sane issue, the screen doesn't fluidly respond but I'm thinking it must be the screen protector since I got a new one. Definitely will change, and my earphone jacks are down which is a bummer. Won't let it fix since I'm planning to buy a new one.

 • After two months of usage I got the same problem. One day the phone is suddenly dead and then turned on after some hours. Then its starts to give the same problem again and again. One day its dead and didn't turning on anymore. I went to service center, They took three weeks to replace the mother board,Now it was working fine.

 • Motherboard gone , it sleeps for couple of days &then comes back again. big problem.

 • this marshmallow update has taken too long , i am considering leaving sony soon for good

 • Just notice that the home and back button is not functioning

 • Hi, Can anybody tell me if a capacitive stylus will work on z3 compact like note features???

 • Quite disappointed. I have been a Sony fan for 6 years now. My Z3 compact 21 MP camera just died and the screen black. If you turn on the flashlight it won't go off unless you restart the phone. Apparently it's a common problem from Sony support forums but without a solution. My next phone will definitely be an iPhone.

 • Have U tried reparing the phone using Sony companion. It will erase data & install latest OS again. So, better take a backup first.

 • If your battery is giving U problems then there coud be a problem with the battery & not whole phone. Try to change the battery.

 • Are more settings available like shutter speed. Have U used any 3rd party app ? Is manual mode still limited to only 8mp ?

 • U will have to read about it on net & look at videos to understand because there are different settings for different scenes. But Generally, high iso is used to for low light but that can increase the noise too. So, U have to find the optimal settings. Increasing EV[exposure value] can also increase the light in the image. If the object U are shooting is not moving then use HDR mode. All manual controls are available in 8mp resolution which is generally enough. But if U are going to use zoom then high suggest U use higher mps. Also, try 3rd party apps as well. There are many good one like Better camera, Camera mx, FV-5 & google camera.

 • It could be screen protector issue, change to new one buddy

 • Can you explain about the manual mode settings(like iso)to take better shots?

 • Manual mode

 • Well the camera UI is like the Z5 now but did not really notice any improvement in camera quality

 • I love a good durable flagship phones, and this is one of them. Used to have the z1c but that has been used and lasted with me for almost 2 years till it battery became trashy... So I switched to this phone and I'm liking it so far except I noticed the internal 16g of storage had became insufficient with the apps and their growing sizes with each update as well the data being stored while using them on the long run, and now I keep getting the notification of internal memory 75%!!! Sony is considering this over noticed in their new line ups of the z5, still they need to provide bigger internal storages to cope up. Hmm, the other thing is that I've noticed was the durability of Sony products, let's say after using the phone about 2 years or so it becomes useless and junk then you'll have to go for another new device, but for my iPhone 5s noticed it's still having strong durability than sony and lasting longer with me than other phones. Really would love from Sony to make phones with high quality that could last longer and longer rather than end up in trash...

 • Has the camera app changed ? The interface ? speed ? Features ?

 • Has the camera app changed ? The interface ?

 • Thanks...what about camera after the update?....Is any improvement in the camera?

 • I have the Z3c for 1 year and 3 months already and I didn't have any problems! Until 2 days ago when I could not swipe down my notification bar... :( it is really frustrating because now sometimes it works sometimes not. And I have to swipe down multiple times until it works.

 • You do realise it says water resistant right not water proof.

 • Jjj,I am currently running this beta and it is pretty fast, but it isn't too much faster than 5.1.1. I am getting a bit of a lower AnTuTu score but probably because the device was very hot at the time I ran the test, and I do have the same battery life as before but it should be better for you because I have Viper4android which does drain battery

 • Water proof is a myth. Just fell into swimming pool (all compartments on phone closed properly) the phone is f#@ked!

 • Is anyone updated the beta version of marshmallow? Share the experience about the update.

 • Air gun high pressure (with care) or those Air bottled spray to clean keyboard. Is just dust I was frustrated but since I used the air gun sounds like new. Have look at internet where the speakers are. Good luck.

 • it's not caused by lollipop. i upgraded mine and got no problem

 • Man HTC is sending update to even e8 & Dezire Eye phones. I am feeling bad having to wait updates for Z3 series. But the new update takes away stamina mode so now I also feel not so sure about it but I want the camera2 api too. Damn it can't make up my mind.

 • Manual.

 • Gps doesnt work anymore after lollipop upgrade, no solution so far (6 months!), hard reset doesnt help, sony says i have to submit it to repair but they say i have to pay even if its under warranty!! A lot of people has the same problem, try to google "z3 compact gps issue" and check by yourself. No more sony for me

 • xperia sucks not really a waterproof device tsk and if it had damages better to buy a new phone than repairing it. Never ever trust this phone under water :( really upset with this malfunctioning phone.

 • Which mode is better to get good detailed images? Superior auto or manual mode

 • I agree there! Z1C has better audio output and also better build quality. But... The Z3C has more refined design, not as chunky and odd as the Z1C. It´s also nicer in your palms. Improved grip of the handset. The Z1C feels a bit old desing-wise. (Sorry all you Z1C-owners out there!) Z1C and Z3C is otherwise very similar phones. Shows there´s not much happening in the smartphone department of 2013-2016. I could have gone for the Z1C and saved some dough. I´m not a power-user so the only important thing for me is that they dont cancel updates for the OS. Newer = Hopefully longer lasting pleasure.

 • microphone stop working after 10 months. I can hear the caller but the caller cant hear me unless I talk on the speakerfone. Gave it in for repair , under warrenty, and got it back afrer 6 weeks. Authorised repair centre says its beyond economical repair. They say I damaged the SD card slot!! Whats this got to do with the microphone I ask. They say its abused!!! I am so angry and dissapointed at Sony SA. I asked for proof, as my sd card works perfectly well. The fone was never dropped, and looks new after nearly a year. They sent me a pic of my fone with a damaged SD slot. Guess what? I took a foto of the SD slot, and its not the one from the pic. AND... I gave my fone in for repair in January 2016. Their foto was dated 17th December 2015.. !!!

 • I have the coming out screen issue. Its been month in service center and i will pick tomorrow.

 • i have z1 compact it real good. but now i buy z3 compact it speaker not same like z1. it not gud batter if i use head seat .also compare with z1 z3 body not strong like z1 .

 • My Z3C's audio speakers are real poor in hear-ability. Low sound, both with speakerphone and ring tone. Very bad. Rest all good features

 • Hey! I jave thing I gotta check with you guys. My Z3C's audio speakers are real poor in hear-ability. Low sound, both with speakerphone and ring tone (incoming). Is this typical Z3C? My friend got a Z1C and it is MUCH better. By miles. Due to the speker grill or something? Hmm..

 • same here, those who are having such issues, may have got faulty piece. I have bought display piece since 2 months and no issues of display glass.

 • I have had this phone for 2 weeks now & have not had any such issue. Phone warms up only if I play big game for an hour or so. No the screen is not coming out or anything. I have read about phone warming up but never read about screen coming out. So U are either blabbering or have a defective piece.

 • On paper it is a really nice phone, but for one issue. The phone gets really hot an my screen is coming out! There are many reports of this online, an it has happened to two friends as well. Because of this issue I can't recommend the phone.

 • U did drop it didn't U ? Sometimes cracks expand over time.

 • I want to know that too. Well, Z5 series started getting Marshmallow in Japan already so my guess is that Z3 series will be getting it in April-May. But i hope sooner than that.

 • The most fragile phone i've ever have... got a dead zone in the upper part of touch screen after 8 months of normal use, not to mention the overheating issue.

 • Does anyone kno when are we getting Marshmello update ? It's out on M8 already which is older.

 • ok so i have a z3 compact and i dropped it ye ik it cracked but today i left my phone on my desk and then i went to get it and i look at it and its cracked like seriously there was nothing that could have cracked it no one was in my room im realy dicapointed

 • It is showing on Sony support page. check this link for details.

 • Your phone shoud be under warranty. So if anything does happen U can take it to service center & get it checked.

 • What is that update for ? Has it been released anywhere else ?

 • The lollipop update has not been a good 1. When I received it on my xperia zr it caused heating n battery draining issues as well. Although the severity decreased after some time. My new Xperia Z3Compact is up to date & sometimes heats while gaming & using camera continuously too but nothing serious. If U have updated the phone just now then show some patience. it will get better gradually.

 • Thanks..

 • simple

 • Can anyone tell me which charger is available in xperia z3 compact box, quick charger or simple.

 • My phone all experiencing the heat, after upgrading it in lollipop. What can i do? Please help me.

 • I am using Sony experia z3 compact for two months... yesterday i faced a sudden death issue, after some hours it is back to normal.I am scared about it may happen again in the future. Is there is any solution to prevent this in the future? pls reply...

 • Even My Z3C not showing the update

 • Is anyone got 23.4.A.1.264 OTA update in India?

 • after 6 months of use, the phone starts rebooting itslef until it cant pass the start up screen. im so disappointed. had hopes for this phone because its my first android phone. D5803 user here

 • Z3 compact water proof big joke

 • check if you have inserted your simcard or memory card perfectly in it. It happened to me and i fitted them well. And it solved the issue :D

 • You can use toothpaste to clean your camera lens

 • Hi, Can anyone help on using answering machine? I keep getting error audio source not enabled on receiving the call and the call gets disconnected before recording the msg

 • I bought Z3Compact 2 weeks ago & have been using it since last week. What I Like: 1.The design: easily the best looking phone I have ever seen. nothing matches it. the premium look, glass build, shape & size, it's just awesome. 2. Size: Perfect size for a phone & easily usable by 1 hand. 3. Color: Wanted it in red, Got it in Orange. Still way better than just white, black or Pink. 4. Performance: Great h/w delivers great performance. Even people using moto & nexus applaud Z3C's performance. 5. Battery: Unimaginable good, especially with stamina mode. 6. Camera: sharp & clear images 7. Sony's music app & music output: though I liked Walkman name. 8. Stereo Speakers: music is not at level of headphones but perfect balance between quality & Volume. 9. Space: 16 GB internal & more expandable. 10. Price: Got it for 27000 Rupees. Very good deal. What I don't like: 1. Flaps: too big. I don't trust them. May have to use a cover to keep them closed properly. 2. non-removable battery & back cover 3. Camera: 20mp is available in only 1 mode. to get HDR or other manual controls U have to come down to 8mp. Colors in images seem washed out. Will be checking other camera apps for more options. As U can see so things I like & few I don't like. But those I don't like are imp ones & I wish they had been rectified.

 • It's a great device for that price. A powerfull thing in a compact size. Of course, its not predicted to be putted in the swimming pool or something like that, it is waterproof if accidentaly rain starts, or accidentaly fall in water... but not SWIMMING AND RECORDING UNDER WATER. :)

 • My z3 compact is great! I love splashing it with water whenever I want to

 • Don't buy this phone. It is not waterproof. It is not as tough as the advertising makes out. The back cover is made of glass for some stupid reason and smashes easily. And since the most recent update, the home, back and recent apps buttons no longer work for a large number of users (7 pages of comments on the Sony user forums). When I contacted Sony about this, they have done nothing to help or even acknowledge the problem.

 • Hello ED, I have my Sony Z3 Compact for more than a year and I have to say that i droped from 1,5 meters on the concreet floor. And my screen didn't cracked at all :) I use from the first day glass panels for both front and back and a Ringke FUSION SMOKE cover. Maybe I had luck, it's a fantastic phone. It's my secondary phone, the primary one is a S6 Edge but I have to say that it's more stable than the S6 Edge... I will never sell this phone... Have a nice day!

 • Why does it keeps on rebooting and it always give an error "Unexpected removal of memory card." for no reason, I mean it is just on a table. I have used other xperia before I thought this will be different but its not. I am a bit disappointed.

 • I have heard of blurry picture issue of camera on z3 compact. i too have that issue. Did anyone here try custom roms and if yes then did that make any improvement in camera quality?

 • This is almost my perfect phone, but is let down by one very crucial defect. The usability, battery life, camera, speed, size, screen clarity..and everything else are all spot on for me. BUT, I have broken the screen 3 times in 5 months, and the it costs an absolute fortune to have the screen repaired. Some shops refuse to repair Sony screens, and of the ones that do I can't find anywhere that will repair it for much less than £100 a time, (I'm no expert but I think this is because the screen comes as part of an LCD unit), this obviously makes it unsustainable to keep the phone at it's current breakage rate. I could understand if I was being rough and careless with the phone - but actually the opposite is true! The glass they use for the screen is simply too thin, and it's a real let down. Despite using a leather flip case and thick screen protector I have cracked the screen once by dropping it onto the ground from about 4 feet, once just from having it in my pocket whilst bending down, and once from dropping onto a desk from about a foot off the surface. This really is appalling! And unlike previous phones that I've owned, as soon as you crack this screen it immediately means that you cannot use the part nearest the crack, and within 1-2 days the crack will spread and the whole phone will become unusable. This is a major design floor and it's incredibly frustrating that Sony have cut corners here. I will be very sad to stop using this phone, as I love it, but I simply cannot afford to the running cost of a new screen every couple of months. (This is despite me trying really hard to be careful with it). I hope other people have more luck, but from others I have spoken to and read comments from, this appears to be a common problem. I hope Sony learn from this.

 • hi just bought the z3 compact... i have a question for other user..the volume on the device is great and loud..however when ever i put the volume up and it sounds great ,the front glasss.that is the screen almost starts to vibirate..is this normal... as if i am play a high voulme deck speaker ..please help

 • I love my Z3C...

 • if you are dentist or if you have to use your two hands while working, you will be upset if you buy this phone, because theres no way for auto-answering in bluetooth mode. if you are using bluetooth headset, you have to push button for answering. it ruins your life. thank you sony.

 • For me it solved the problem with factory resetting the Z3 and doing a fresh install.

 • Download Cooler Master from Play Store and set it up using the advance setup menu. That really helps, it works for me.

 • I am using Sony experia z3 compact. After lollipop update phone starts to heat within normal use. Is this a software problem? Build number is 23.4.A.1.232. Any other facing this issue in this build? Is there is any solution for heating issue? plz help.

 • I'm not a 'super-user' or had that many smartphones. I am an average guy who uses my phone to make calls, texts, browse the web, using some apps, taking photos etc. Okay, my 2 cents here... The Z3 compact is a great phone - but with some flaws. I got big hands and it handles well. I'm not a fan of the five inch-monsters out there even if I understand the purpose of them. Sony treats Android well, I think. Looking at other brands, the UI is not clustred but rather minimalistic and nice. The software is to 95% fluid and does not lag. I've had mine for six months, satisfied so far. Build quality is okay, but not fantastic. Coming from Nokia Lumia 800, and must say the Finnish phone was more impressive in this regard. I payed a discount 350€, and it feels a bit steep considering hardware quality of this Z3 compact. I have treated it well, but still the screen sqeueks once a day. Though it feels sturdy enough to last some time. Camera jpeg output is okay in auto-mode (doesn't shoot in M mode with phones). I had hoped for more consistent shots and with a bit more oumph in the pictures. I have a 2011 Sony compact camera that wipes this one over-board. Too bad actually! One of the headlines for the Sonys are the image quality - right? This is part of why I bought this phone in the first place. Battery time is outstanding and so is recharging it. This is really impressive I must say! Happy with this! The design of the Sonys rock! Hands down no contest, in my opinion. Minimalistic and gorgeous. Overall its a great phone. It's fast and responsive. Android UI is not cluttered and looks nice. It is good size and with great looks. But it is not that premium as the price tag shows. There is stil room for improvement. Maybe Z6/Z7 Compact will make this happen?

 • The in call sound on my Z3compact is terrible - is this a software or hardware problem. I've tried changing the sound settings but nothing seem to work. I can hardly hear the person on the other end of the call.

 • I like Apple iPhone. I like Android Phones. But my first need was phone size . I needed a perfect size phone which i can handle with my one hand easily and it should be high level phone. So between iPhone and Sony z3 compact, I choose Z3 compact. Why? Because its one of top 5 phones around and Iphone is too small in size for me. 4 inch is way smaller than 4.6 inch. Its upto you which you want to buy. I have ordered just today after revieving Z3 compact amazing battery life, sharp camera and build quality and specially the looks :)

 • The hardware is somehow fragile. I never drop the phone, nor theres no crack in ny screen but somehow my screen is fell off from its place in right side. What the?? I never have things like this vefore in my phones. Usually screen issue is either crack or not responsive. Allso the paint in the border is easilly peeled off. This is not $50 phone!!!

 • good but battry back up not low

 • Ip5 better

 • My experience with z3 compact was extremely bad.. i had it last summer,i had to choose between it and the Z3 so i thought i should get the Z3 compact coz i don't like big phones! and when i bought it actually it was fast and everything was great until one day i decided to go for a walk -for you who don't know Dubai is extremely hot in summer comparing to Egypt- i opened the camera took one pic, just one! and i couldn't touch the phone anymore it was burning hot! and i thought may be coz the weather is too hot so when i came back to Egypt and used it, i had the same problem even in winter then the screen began to come out! started from an edge and got bigger every day and when i asked other people about it they said they had the same problems, so i decided to sell it.. i'm a Sony user but i'm not happy with that phone at all, though my mom has Z1 my sis has Z5 my friend has Z3 and they all are happy with their phones.. so i guess the problem is with the Z3 compact .. Don't get it!!!

 • My experience with my z3 compact was bad from the beginning to the end. Since day one, the sim and microSD plastic flaps where a problem. Closing properly was not possible. Then I had a touchscreen malfunction. Sent it to assistance and they replaced the screen (warranty). When I decided to sell it (last week), I realized the sim plastic tray was broken, so had to replace it before selling. My z3 compact never fell down or had any accident, so it was very hard to accept eveything. Going to nexus 5x and, probably, never going back to sony. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment.

 • Should I buy the xperia z3 compact or IPhone 5s?

 • Both are amazing. But Z3 feels so premium compared by Z3 compact...

 • Is it worth to buy this phone now compared to Z5C ? Any really significant issues faced for this phone in general & not just by a single user ?

 • My z3 compact one year and one month has a defective screen. Started at small and now got bigger. Seem that its dying slowly. Been monitoring this using the diagnostics > test > touchscreen and the dead pixel started at the upper side has now going down. Im very disappointed. Thought that i will have this for more than 2 years up :-(

 • It is digitizer. This is normal and can be seen with other phones also - depends of the display type.

 • The phone is amazing,it does get a bit warm but only when you play a high demanding game or something like that, the camera is good but not really good in low-light situations,it performs like an S6,but maybe even quicker and overall it is a solid performer

 • Is it good?? or Z3 is good?? plz reply...

 • Doe it heat very much? Or it just gets warm? What is thev average temp it reches while playing games, movies, heavy usage, etc. And frankly r the heating issues true?

 • I think yes it is worth. I did it after using ip5s and blackberry passport and I am very satisfied. Fast, compact, good Camera and pretty balanced android. And this days also very good price. If you doesnt need fingerprint i dont think so you need to throw money for Xperia z5c.

 • hell no...wait until z5c drops in price and get it

 • Update With Sony PC Companion. It is available.

 • Has anyone in India received 23.4.A.1.264 update? It is showing on Support India site as latest update but when I am checking for update, it is showing you have latest update.

 • Has anyone faced issue of screen/app lock not working?

 • hey guys..want to buy this z3c soon..is it worth in 2016???

 • I had mine on holiday 5 months ago and i was taking videos under the water in the pool and it still works perfectly today

 • I have this phone about 1 Month, before that I had S5 mini. Z3C is much better and faster compared to Samsung which become pretty lagy after after only few months of usage, but there are some stuff which frustrate me in comparing to S5 mini. For instance, stupid unnecessary information which constantly occupy lock screen and can not be turned off. Idiotic gallery which can not be opened as default in folder view but it always open in "All content" and mix pictures from different sources like Viber, etc. which is quite stupid. On screen navigation buttons are very non ergonomic, occupy part of screen in most applications and in some cases they are hidden and it is sometimes problem to perform fast navigation, return to home or start task manager (in camera mode for instance). No usable weather widget, so you must search for 3rd party solution which is not an easy task, finally I somehow settled with Amber weather which seems most informative and least irritant. You can not perform infinite swipe on main screen, so I tend to keep minimal number of home screens. Earphone output volume is to low for my taste. Buit-in email app has stupid way of handling with image reduction size (main reason why I despite gmail app), on samsung when you select multiple images and send by email, he once asks me for picture reduction (small/mid/full) and apply this settings for all selected images, on Sony this works in much more stupid way, sony asks me constantly for image reduction for each image. And If I select "always", than he will make same image reduction for all mails in a future, I must to dig deep in to menu to change that option. Irt seems that all app which I used on Samsung is made to be more stupid and non-ergonomic on Sony, only good side is that it is not laggy as Samsung apps. But hey, I had lot of complains on Samsung also, this is the reason why I sell it at the end. BTW, seems that OTG is not functioning after Lolipop update, Sony WTF you done?

 • My last phone was an xt910. The She gave this phone to me for christmas. This phone is awesome. It is more powerful than my laptop and does everything I could ever ask it to do. Only idiots take their tech for a swim. Even GoPros have cases.

 • Unfortunately you and many people can't understand it:( Sony phones are amazing and water resistant not waterproof... They designed to work when raining and not in water...

 • I bought a sony Z3 two months ago (through vodacom in South Africa) and i took it for a swim in my sons pool (less than 300 mm in depth for 30 sec), guess what that was the last i used it and i didn't even dipped it fully in the water. Now sony refuse to repair they say its beyond economically repaired (WTF????). How can you advertise a product saying its waterproof then its not, and you refusing to repair. this personally disgusted me and i am not leaving this until its sorted. Sony is selling lies.

 • bout to ask the same question .. is it good or ?

 • When using the phone outside, in sunlight, blue dots appear on the screen. Any I deal what this is?

 • hey there, Can anyone share there experiences on front camera 2.2mp How is picture quallity?

 • This phone has dissappoint me when in 4 months the notification, menu, back buttons were not functioning.. After get fixed, when it reaches exactly 1 year there is only got sound at one side of earphone (not earphone problem, i have tested)... The usb cap always become loose so, the phone becomes no more waterproof... Need to change it 4 month once...

 • Every phone can break... Don't worry buy Sony...

 • z3c

 • Sony Xperia Z3 compact OR Samsung galaxy s5 neo .. Weatherproofness and the main thing CAMERA? front and back ? I know sony is 20 and Samsung 16 but in general is it sonys one better? Im getting a new phone and those are my options .. Which should I choose? As I said photography plays big role here. Is it true that sony breaks easy? Any comment of other characteristics will be of helpful. Thanks :)

 • One of the best phones I ever had. Miss it so much!

 • Guyz I have just upgraded from ZR to Z3 compact but I am not able to restore the backup done on ZR to Z3C, can anyone help?

 • Best phone ive ever owned. The build quality is superb. Dropped it too many times!and not a scratch. Takes great photos and video.Perfect size. Enough RAM and slot for external storage. Surfs the internet like a dream.Enough said.Thought about replacing it but at this moment utterly pointless. Specs will have to improve significantly before this is going to happen.

 • Z3c

 • You don't own a sony z3c, just drop my phone from 1 meter and nothing happen so stop with ur stupid opinion!!troll

 • didn't happen to mine. not yet anyway

 • Its pretty good. I just got it so maybe I'm not the best person to review it but its a good phone in general and the battery lasts long enough.

 • am planning to buy this phone..pls anyone suggest me is it a gud phone

 • Purchased Sony Z3 compact in November 2015. Immediately placed it in relevant recommended case for protection. Within 3 weeks bits of the plastic around the side of the phone where the usb cover is started to break off. I've never had this happen with any other Sony phone and I'm really disappointed.

 • Plsss fix the camera its too much brightness n the picture quality its too bad.. Try to add more contrast n not too much brightness

 • Worst phone ever, glass at back breaks from just wearing in pocket

 • I had some major issues when i purchased it in December 1 year ago but those issues were fixed with software updates in the upcoming months. I really like how smooth the phone is, even with over an year of usage, I never feel any lag and the phone works fantastic like in it's first day. The build quality though is a different story. I am having the same glass issues like many of the other people here. My glass is sticking out around 1mm on one side, feels like it's about to get completely disconnected from it's body. I also purchased the stupid and expensive original sony charging dock for this phone but it did not fit to any of the 3 thin cases I've purchased ! very lousy quality.

 • The realization here is that you don't own one and you are just assuming things. I'm an owner of z3 compact and it is supposed to be "relatively small" it's a compact after all. It has great battery alright. And the power management here is stamina mode and "ultra stamina" mode. You see, you have to buy one to post your opinion here.

 • The idea behind the phone is good but the realization - the build quality isn't the best one. It is relatively small. Very good battery life, the function of stamina and stamine ultra are really good. But the glass behind breaks easily as already told and then it will loose its water resistance. And then there is this strange shutting off the display into black when initiating call which supposedly also is related to front glass problems.

 • Great phone apart from the weak glass , scratches and breaks far too easy . I'm on my 5th in under a year. Camera lens gets hazy from tiny scratches which spoils the camera performance. I couldn't recommend this phone

 • Very vulnerable phone! Screen cracked form a 6 inch drop on a wooden floor. Had it repaired. However screen kept popping out. Just discovered that the screen cracked again. Do not buy this phone!

 • I am a sony fan, so certainly i know that basic thing. The quality is poor though. However i notice great improvement from Z5 camera. Hope the Z6 even does better.

 • just confused though...bought in dec. 2014 but the battery died oct. 2014?

 • i had my z3 compact bought in dec 2014, in oct 2014 the battery died. since i was working overseas, there's no way i could send it back to the philippines for check up. i went home to the philippines last week of december and it was already past warranty period. sony is charging me 14K for the repair...wtf. no way that i will pay such amount, i'd rather destroy the phone in front of them than spending another thousands for that f--k-ng phone.

 • Sophist, you have to put the camera in Manual mode and then set the resolution to 20.7 MP. If you don't, it defaults to crappy 8 MP. Hope this helps.

 • I've had this phone (D5803) for a couple weeks and having no problems so far. Very responsive. Getting reliable, fast LTE signal on T-Mobile thru an MVNO in SE Florida. Battery charge is phenomenal. Also it's lighter and thinner than the Z5 compact. I hate having a brick in my pocket which is why I wanted Galaxy Alpha originally, but could not get unlocked version in the U.S. The Z3 is heavier and thicker but still acceptable. Be aware that Sony does not warrant these phones bought from 3rd party, so you have to try your luck and hope Amazon has a good return policy if it's defective right out of the box. The vendors on Amazon don't always tell you that there's no warranty. Also as others have said, phone back is extremely slippery. It will slide right off a surface that's so slightly curved, it's not even visible to the naked eye. I put mine on edge of bathtub, next thing I know it's on the floor. Dropped onto hard floor from about 16" high and no damage, luckily. If you can live with the caveats, this is a great phone. It upgraded automatically to Lollipop. The app for transferring data from old phone via NFC worked great, even though other phone is a Samsung running KitKat (!) If it doesn't work the first time, try turning on EVERYTHING -- NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, even the proprietary stuff like S-beam and WiFi direct. Good luck!

 • Z3 since it has many features that other phones don't have.

 • Z3C

 • Definitely the A5 2016 with stylish glass metal design !

 • The phone works fine. However photo quality is very poor, slow capture speed, low detail although it says 21 mpx. Display quality is ok to sub par. Waiting for Z6 powerd by 820 with more breakthroughs over z3 and z5.

 • Actually, This phone is reported to do exactly that, go underwater, not just get splashed on. I was recently in Argentina where they sold this phone and they had it in a bucket of water. YouTube is also full of videos demonstrating this.

 • I got this phone for xmas and i absolutely love it! i had an iphone 4 before and i wasn't impress by it at all (i am not a big fan of Apple) and the transition to the Sony has been really easy. The phone pretty much work in the same way except that it is easier to use than the iphone. For example to put music on the Sony Z3 you just copy the folder from your computer to the music folder on the phone and that's it you can listen to it. With the iphone you had to install itune on your computer, then upload all your music on your itune then download itune on your phone then get the music from itune, so simple apparently! Same story for pictures, with the Sony Z3 you just copy the file onto the picture folder on the phone and you can see the picture, with the iphone 4s you can't copy a file onto the phone so to get a picture onto the phone you had to get it by the internet or send it by email then open the file then save the picture onto the phone. There are other things like the camera pixels that is much better on the sony Z3 or the option to get a wireless charger for the Sony Z3. What else? the front screen is also nicer as you can customize what icons you have on your main page at the opposite of the iphone where you have to have all the icon no matter if you use them or not! i also love the tracker in case you loose your phone and the fact you can block apps from your computer in case you loose your phone, and on top of all of that the phone is waterproof up to 1.5m! Everything about this phone is so much better than the Iphone. The bottom line is iphone is extremely complicated to use, Sony Z3 is extremely easy to use, go for the Sony Z3, don't hesitate a second!

 • Sony:)

 • xperia z3c or iphone 5s?

 • Z3...:)

 • Which phone is better Samsung A5 Sony z3 LG Nexus 5

 • This is awesome phone with a great defect,:glass of front and rear are not tenacious noway.and after a while your camera lens will be useless cause of scratches

 • Don't buy laggy Samsung... But why you want to buy Z3 compact? Buy the regular Z3...

 • Display broken itself often. if you dont belive search in on google. but the mobil is excelent, if you really want it so buy display insurance or dont buy this mobil. you would be sad... as me..

 • Best battery ever on Droid. Finest glass cover. Fast and ellegant. I love it!

 • dude next time apply screen protector or tempered glass on the screen.....you are need to be blamed in this situation.....

 • Trolls be trollin'

 • This phone costed me a fortune! At first I loved it more than any phone I've had. But now It is only two months old and I have had countless errors. Do NOT waste your money and time on this phone. The screen on my phone cracked in my pocket while I was going for a walk. With changing weather conditions the phone couldn't handle the cold! Once the screen got cracked the phone becomes 100% useless because the screen doesn't register your touch anymore. A 200$ replacement screen later happened to be put on in such a way that it keeps popping out and when I pushed it down it broke AGAIN. The parts are expencive because they have to come from China so please don't waste your time because you WILL not be satisfied.

 • samsung galaxy s5 or sony xperia z3c?

 • samsung galaxy s5 or sony xperia z3c?

 • Shatter proof no way it smashed first time i dropped it on a hard surface less than a meter drop. never buying again

 • Hi, What would you guys advise: z3c or z5c? The camera is most important to me, but paying €100 more for a few megapixels? I just don't know. Thx

 • Seems like a h/w problem. See if a reset works. Otherwise, just visit the service center.

 • Anything which works for you and gets the job done is great. Unfortunately, I am not happy with the build quality of my Xperia Z3 compact. Not like it is hindering my day to day use, just that it proved not to be a good investment, given that the rear glass and charger flap broke only after 8 months of use!

 • sony is really great...

 • hi, i just update to lollipop 5,1,1 and i see the proximity sensor is not working, i enter to service menu and that option of proximity keep loading what can i do ??

 • if you don`t protect your phone , change it for a nokia 1100

 • I bought two Sony Xperia Z3 Compact phones some 5 months ago, one for me one for my wife. I do look after my toys and my wife let kids to play with hers, Her phone has been drooped tens of times and all is good. My phone hasn't been on the floor not even once and the small rubber corner at the bottom of the phone came off , then I noticed that the charging port cover seal came off loose, bigger surprise I did get when I noticed that whole screen starting from the top of the phone came off. I didn't drop it and the screen still is 100% functional but it can be pulled from the case about 3mm. I've send it to Sony under warranty and they said that is my fault that the phone is damaged and they can repair it if I pay £113 for repair. SONY SUCKS

 • undoubtedly, z3 compact.

 • I bought Z3 C's in December 2014. My younger (23) son dropped his in February, screen cracked, slowly fading screen functionality, headphone jack not working. Replaced in June 2014 with another one: now headphone jack not working, seal on USB flap useless/gone, charger port loose and comes away from the phone with the magnet. Not Happy. Second original one has issues: overheats, laggy, drops calls, reboots itself randomly. Not Happy. Third one now has developed headphone jack issues, charging flap seal gone (replaced, now using a mag charger). Not Happy. All in all, I wish I had NOT bought any of these Sony phones. Very, very disappointed in Sony.

 • Has there been any update for this phone's camera like Z5 compact received 1 ?

 • Sony Xperia Z3 Compact or Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 4 GB RAM/32GB?

 • Yes. Search Google for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact concept software s it's available as a Beta now.

 • Yes

 • Lol, Z3C is faaarrr better

 • Z3 compact.

 • Yeah, what is the point of a glass back? My Sony SP has a plastic back and metal frame around it, it feels solid and strong. I haven't dropped it yet!

 • Is there an update of adroid marsmallow on z3 compact? Anybody thanks for the answer...

 • I have the 5833 compact, Great phone but unfortunately selling it on eBay as it keeps giving me problems ever since it updated to Lolipop. It had the "sleep of death" three times already........

 • Which is the best? Sony xperia Z3 compact or Samsung galaxy alpha??? Please reply...

 • I have the same problem My phone gets a swap of motherboard. After that I had the same problem of auto shutdown. I again gave the phone to Sony service center in India. But yesterday when i received my phone it was working normal. But from today same problem. They had reply me as my Sim card or memory card is a problem. I have been using my Sim card and memory card of 64GB in Samsung Note 2 since a month. My mom is also using Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. As we took it had the same problem. Buts its motherboard has been got replaced and now its 8 months it working absolutely fine. I am very disappointed with Sony. I am using Sony from last 12 years and have used sony's and sony erricsson's best phone but this is the first time things are happening with me.

 • Great phone, have had mine for a year now, always in its nassin case with nuglass front glass protection. This phone has been dropped lots of times and the nuglass protecter did crack but the screen didn't so I just keep replacing the screen protecters and not the screen(done this twice). The nuglass protecters are a must for any new phone would highly recommend them. I think mine cost ten bucks from ebay. Evey time you put a new one on my friends would say do you have a new phone? The down side of my z3 is the sony cradle I used to change my phone pulled the charging port out of my phone so I had to use the usb port to charge my phone so now the flap that covers it does not shut properly and spends most of its time dangling off the side of my phone being a pain in the butt. This is still the best phone I have had a would get another sony if this one died.

 • The back glass actually is too fragile and sometimes doesn't even require a drop to be broken i.e. can self crack - at least in my case. See what happened to my z3c here: The first long crack that you see on the top right appeared on its own. However, the rest of it that you see in the shape of web appeared only once I accidentally dropped it from a small height. I am in no way going to replace it since its a good INR 3,500 investment for me. Hope this helps.

 • probably you didn't drop it the right way

 • So I am a small screen lover. And struggling between the choice of an Iphone 5 S and a Sony Experia Z3. The benefits of a 128 GB Expandable Memory vs a 16 GB locked in the Iphone 5S. The Glass Shattering phenomenon of the Z3 vs the lower battery life of an Iphone 5S. I guess the one which did it for me is a user referring to the Z3 as a Child, which i might want to to freeze sometimes and ship off to China. The Analogy helped me finally rule out the Z3. Thanks GSM arena for proving a Great platform over the years, even though i am posting my first comment here now.

 • Z5c compact would be obvious choice if you were satisfied with it's predecessor Z3c...Z5c has no longer any flaps on ports now completely uncovered and put in the right place, mat or frosted glass on the back which is awesome(can't pick up any fingerprint's),superior chipset, improved front camera and new rear camera is currently the best compared to any smartphone ...but if you can wait S7,G5 will soon be out and Z6 shortly after in spring.

 • Really good phone! Can't understand why people are complaining of cracked screens after dropping a glass back and front phone? What the f**k happens when u drop an actual glass? Also obviously the glass will cracking if it goes from one extreme temperature to another just like running a glass under cold water after washing in roasting water it may cracking depending on thickness! Seriously what did u people do at school! Had a couple of Xperia now and never had a problem! Love them!!! Had my old one 2 years + with no problems (even dropped nearly every day!) obviously have to be more careful with this as it's not a plastic piece of shit!

 • Not at all! There's absolutely no point in arguing with you. Absolutely lack talking manners as you have.. Sorry!

 • I have only been using this phone for 2 months..Recently i accidentally dropped it from a height of 3 inches and BAAAAaaAAMMMMM nothing happend. How do you self crack this phone?

 • and next time you reply me reply on the right post the one you replied is not meant for you(take a closer look).

 • The first crack appeared on its own while it was laying comfortably in the car. So what would you say now? >do a car test< before you buy?!?!?!?!

 • of course all features are there in lollipop ouch...

 • hi, have my Xperia z3 compact with android 4.4.4 i want to update to lollipop, my question is ... on lollipop can i still conect my ps3 sixasis controller? or just ps4 controller thanks pd. my screen has a crack due a fall my phone still working but i want to buy a new one online from which web can i buy it ?? to buy a great quality screen and nice colors etc sorry for my bad english

 • Very good and nice looking phone! I have the green one and my wife the white version. I protect them only with allien surface screen and back protections and they both are in perfect shape, after aprox. 1 year of using them. We droped them several times, also on the rocks, and NO PROBLEMS at all. I like everyting at this phone, the size, the speed, the battery, the camera!!! The best value for your money!!!

 • you just drooped your phone on rocks and glass is shattered? WOW I would never expect that to happen.... I mean it's just some rocks and glass.... people when buying a phone....take a phone outside from the store.... and do >some drop tests on rocks< before you buy... number of idiots who use phones every day becomes bigger and bigger...seriously people get of from that ''TechRax'' channel it makes you stupid.

 • Saying '' Haai Sony users.... '' and then ''Realy Bad experience with Sony Z3 compact... Several Times I went for service center.. '' only proves that you come with intention to provoke Sony fans because why you need to say '' Haai Sony users.... '' ?? we already have this phone and know how good it is so no need for you to tell us about it so make sure who you are referring to. better luck trolling next time... Gosh I hate trolls... be it Sony,Samsung,HTC or LG page.....BUT there is also iPhone page feel free to troll there... apple is crap anyway....so you cant say anything bad about it what is not true already LOL

 • Well all the people i am saying honestly that this is the best phone since i am using since last 6 months. I applied hard screen protector and using it roughly but it is still in same great shape and never hangs. Download latest games with no fear. Size is perfect for gents who keep it mostly in pocket without any fuss and hassle. Battery life is much better than my second phone iphone 5s.

 • I've had my z3 compact for over a year, an ordinary case did its job and the glass never broke even though I dropped it accidentally several times. But something happen to it and it's been going more crazy then a teenage boy in a nightclub. It shuts down with no warning and refuses to turn on even after soft and hard restart. I rebooted it to fabrication setups and still went balluba. I can only say it's a love/hate relationship having the phone even though I'm proud to been its keeper with not even one scratch on it. So now I have lost all my contacts, the phone and I am forced to go back to Facebook even though I hate it. Sure it's an okey app, but give me a break people. Engagement here, baby there, shits up and monkeys down. So yeah if you have patience then the phone is perfect for you, but if you want to stuff the phone into a box of water and freeze it. Then this is not the phone for you. Good luck people, it's a good phone, but it's kinda like having kids. You love having them, but sometimes you wouldn't mind stuffing them in a box and ship them to China. Just sayin

 • I've used this phone for 2 months. It worked great until the vibration just stopped working out of the blew. Then one month later I dropped it and the screen cracked a little and this completely stopped my display from functioning. After paying 400$ to buy it I am not going to spend 250$ to fix the display. Also, the "waterproofness" is assured by the fact that all the output wholes are covered, but my covers didn't close anymore.

 • hahahahaha

 • Changed to Z5 from Z3 Compact today! Quite like these two!

 • Great phone no question about it :-)

 • Same can be said about you dude! Anyway, I just posted what happened to my device only being honest. FYI, I have 4 spare devices with me (note2, s4, lumia 1520/730). However, I just can't use any other device as I love the feel of z3c, especially its snappy UI. Just that I am disappointed by its build quality. Cheers!

 • gooddddddddddddd

 • yes sure change it with z5

 • It is a really good phone. No question of quality issues. Buy for good satisfaction. Ignore rubbish reviews.

 • I recommend you to buy Z3 or Z5... don`t buy Samsung or iPhone - buy Sony...

 • using z3 compact from several months perfectly now i want to change/upgrade my phone plz suggest any new model Thanks

 • Z3 Compact- Great phone and great battery! BUT It could power a rocket into space but if it breaks without misuse what is the point! I switched from Samsung to the Sony Z3 Compact 12 months ago & the glass fronted screen has broke on 3 different occasions. The last time while in my pocket with Gorilla glass protection and a high end protective case. So in my opinion STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS PHONE! It will break, with Sony's AWFUL customer service. I will never touch another Sony product ever again!!!

 • The truth is, people are being paid to post fake reviews, using fake IP's etc. so no one can really tell whos real or not. I've been using this device for months now and I never encountered any issues or what so ever. If you like sony phone then buy one, if not then don't! Don't Post rubbish reviews, how pathetic!

 • you don't say anyting with it, bad experience about what??????????????????

 • I am using since 8 months it is very good in quality and performance

 • Haai Sony users.... Realy Bad experience with Sony Z3 compact... Several Times I went for service center..

 • yes i also use this phone, and for some reasons, some comments are negative, but i did not experience any of those issues.maybe the other comments are true regarding the copy of the products.

 • I too was in a complete denial commenting here about how durable it is, well, until mine broke in the same way, yesterday. The first long line crack appeared on the back glass about 2 months ago and I had put on a back plastic cover ever since. Then yesterday it dropped down on a semi-rocky soil from a small height and the glass is now completely shattered and appears as a web in shape. How disappointing! For those who are arguing about fake/original copies, I do not believe. As it is happening with the original Sony that I have. I called up customer care and they suggested that it will cost me Rs. 3,500 (INR) for the glass and Rs. 750 (INR) for the micro sd water resistant flap to replace, which of course is an insane amount! I am not considering another Sony unless it is for a whole metal one. Beware guys!

 • Too many fanboys again. I have always loved Sony stuff, but recently everything has problems which they refuse to admit to. My phone is genuine - so no it doesn't have to be a 'cheap copy' as some are saying - but both the front and rear screens cracked unmolested while sitting on a table. This is after one of the 'water resistant' covers for inputs wouldn't stay closed. Both of these things are my fault according to Sony, who came to that conclusion before having in their own hands (via 2 photos) that there was damage which caused these things. There apparently is no systemic issue with screens or water leakage, despite the 10s of thousands of victims of virtually identical problems. The phone internals are great, but the finishing and after-sales is complete bullshyte. Lift your game Sony!

 • Probably with original not copy's like most people here compaining own.

 • Actually, This phone is reported to do exactly that, go underwater, not just get splashed on. I was recently in Argentina where they sold this phone and they had it in a bucket of water. YouTube is also full of videos demonstrating this.

 • YEs... just buy original and not cheap copy like lot of people complaining here about phone desighn quality. Also, if you are afraid, get some silicone cover protection for your phone and you will be fine. JUST BUY ORIGINAL... according to these comments many people buy cheap-ass copy's and that makes me sad. Sony get negative rating and comments only cos people are trying to save some small amount of money.

 • Sony will say that you are idiot... Why people think that "water ressistant" means literally fully ressistant against water ? How do i explain to you people that if you take your Sony underwater you are empty-headed ? Do you people ever... and i MEAN EVER read your phone manual ? You people make me wonder are we really are most inteligent form of life on this planet.

 • I was a happy owner of z3c for about six months until one morning a very strange thing happened. I put the phone on charge and, as I was walking away, I heard a peculiar sound similar to static electricity discharge. I thought I didn't plug the charger properly so I took it out but the noise continued. I took a closer look at the device and as I flipped it around I saw a web of cracks growing on the back screen. That's what produced the sounds. Quick online research (https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=sony+z3c+self+clacked+glass) showed that indeed Z, Z1 and Z3 are all sufferring from self cracking glass, although, in most cases, it manifests itself as a single crack that crosses through the screen. As if this wasn't bad enough, the response from Sony was a firm denial. No amount of online evidence made a difference and in the end I had to pay to get the phone fixed. I paid 72 pounds for what was undeniably their fault! So there you have it. Not only this phone can start falling apart any minute (I was lucky it happened at home; some ended up walking down the street with their pockets full of shattered glass) but on top of that it will be YOUR fault. P. S. If anyone from Sony is interested, here the repair order number: 1-22263764435

 • Really a very good phone. Excellent price /quality. The best

 • Well mine stopped working today! Seems it is not water resistant after all!!! Took a few pics underwater yesterday, there is water inside this morning. Let's see what Sony say to avoid fixing under warranty.

 • This is a GREAT phone! I am super satisfied. Job well done, Sony. Underrated mobiles overall. Looks sweet, quality hardware, performs fantastic. My 2 cents: It would be great with a hardware-qwerty of 2016. Aspen, but not at all a Aspen (with suckade). In Nokia E72-style. Thanks!

 • hello! IT appears that some equipment's bought online are coming with a lot of issues. MY brother works on a cellphone shop and says he is admired my Z3 compact working so perfectly.. when aparently people who bought their z3c online are having strange issues with it. i guarante my Z3 is perfect! never failed me! love it! the best phone ive ever had!

 • I've bought 3 products from kimstore already and all are original. A nikon camera i got from them is half the price displayed on malls. My z3 compact is still perfect from the day i had it. I don't know how they're priced cheaper but i guarantee you that they don't sell fakes there.

 • dont listen to bad reviews here. sony competitors are PAID to post bad reviews and opinions here to avoid people from buying! i bought this phone a year ago in December 2014! i DID NOT bought online! i bought it ona physical Store! CAREFULL with online shopping! MY review? it's the best phone i've ever had and possibly the best phone sony has ever made under 5" size. i dare to say its the best smarthphone under 5" on the market! the new Z5 compact compared to the Z3 compact is big of a revolution... trust me.. my friends envy my phone! its beautifull and fast and its unlocked too all networks ( more expensive at the time) its heats up lil bit its true but its still a awesome phone! Try it! you wont want anything else!

 • My friend how was the cellphone product at kimstore?because its too cheap compare to mall price

 • exactly the same experience with me too

 • I want to buy this phone. But reading many bad reviews about weak glass & weak Camera. Shoud I go for it ? I wanted to wait for Z5 compact but it has not been realeased in my country yet & will possibly be costly. My current phone is giving many problems & i won't be able to wait much longer. So, shoud I for Z3 Compact ?

 • Have u notice that the upper speaker of z3c had low audio since the update??? And the phone call had also reduce, Reply asap if you have same problem

 • well at least it fall on the ground , mine it was cracked in my pocket ... but the solution is easy just buy new one from amazon it wont cost you more than 11$ ..

 • I have the phone 6 months now , and its close to perfect. A little brighter screen so i can read in the sun in the snow (yeah , i use it as GPS compass when ski touring , so i need brightness). All else , its super stable , very nice battery and you even get the choice to upgrade or not. Hope Sony keeps their mobile business..will sit out on the z5 as mine is still too good, but z6 could do , chuss

 • Wonderful phone, terrible build quality. I am extremely disappointed in Sony as my phone had a short drop (less than 50cm) onto a tile floor and the entire back glass panel cracked straight through from left to right. The crack ends right at the power button and since then the device would not switch on again. And off course Sony's warranty does not cover accidental damage, even though this would not necessarily happen to a phone with good built quality at such a short drop. I am sorry to say, but I will never buy a Sony again until they stop making these horrible glass back phones.

 • I ve bn using Sony Z3 compact for about 11 months,it's perfect no any problems at all.

 • Had my Sony z3 compact for 4 months now..several times my daughter drop my phone on the floor for about 2meters but good thing nothing happens even small scratch.we always love having selfies and videos on it because of the cute applications.we love the camera itself as well, its perfect.but what I love the most is the battery life.I can actually used my phone straight for about 2-3 days without charging just using my data connection, music, messenger, text and camera as well..everything is perfect on it..so I really doubt about the cracked screen on some z3 c.

 • is people came in here to give their opinions about the device or just to tell the story of their lives?

 • How u spelt "tap" was silly too XD

 • I bought mine at kimstore for Php16k. I attached a lanyard to it so everytime i use it, my fingers go through the lanyard. That way,it still clings to my fingers if it happens to slip off my hands. I had mine bare because it looks sexier that way.

 • Does that Php 26,000 happened to be Philippine Peso? As far as I know z3 compact's price is already Php 17,000 five months ago..

 • am sorry for what i will saying for you, but am sorry your sister she is right what she she said to you about Sony Z3c very easy class break , my phone class broken from 0.750cm its wast that height distance.

 • Yesterday my favorite z3c just fell down from little hight even I have covered it with a tempered glas too, but the touch was completely broken.I think they might not used a gorilla glass inside it..

 • Screen is not shutter proof.Buyer be warned. My phone dropped from about 0.7m and it cracked.Once the screen protector was removed further damage to the screen.Currently phone cannot power up.Buyer beware

 • I also said that back when I haven't bought my Z3c yet. Then yesterday happened. I have read a lot of reviews about the glass breaking too easily. My sister even warned me about it. But I didn't listen. I trust the Sony brand so much to believe the reviews. Now, you don't know how much I regretted it. I have only been using it for 5 mos, and it was the first time it dropped too since I'm so paranoid about the breaking glass. Now, goodbye to Php 26,000+.

 • i don't know why I see many posts about device braking for falling from small height, I was watching videos on youtube about drop test on street on 1 to 2 meters height and no damages on screen, some people even post phone falling from half meter and on carpet but device broken or even breaking just to have it on your pocket, I don't know......

 • The screen of my Z3c just shattered today, despite the fact that Sony claimed it to be shatterproof. My daughter tripped on the charger, it fell from the bed to the floor (the bed is only as high as my 2-year-old daughter's waist) and it shattered just like that. The phone screen itself is more shattered than the glass protector. I really like the Sony brand. I just don't know how to feel now.

 • I was also thinking about galaxy s5 mini, what do you think?

 • I am seriously thinking about getting this little monster but now I also have the option to get the oneplus x, I know difference on prices and specs but my concern is about built quality for sony device, any advised?

 • yeah happened to me too. have to try few times then only it comes down. do u hv problems with keypad? mine cannot punch i and j.

 • happens to me too. sent for warranty and got it fixed. now the phone call having problem. voice not clear. keypad too. cannot punch i and j. alarm cannot set AM. only PM. sigh...

 • i have z3c and have the same problem as you, seems like its a manufacturing fault, dont think i,ll buy another sony phone again

 • After using for two months, my Z3C screen black out every now and then. Unable to switch on as well as hard reset by pressing power button & volume buttons immediately. Need to wait for few hours later to switch on again. Sent for warranty but same thing happened again two days later. Is this common for Sony mobile phones?

 • i purchase new sony z3compact with in 2 day fall down floor back cover is broken after i purchse new back cover in same day just drop from my hand it's broken why sony brand items are very delicates now days . will you give me feed back about poor qulity back battery glass cover . how can i get geniun sony parts wher should i buy give me some tips

 • Nice phone handling so good battery awesome, cam and lcd quilty also much better.

 • I've been using it for about a month now. So far so good. No problem with my screen as of yet. Still fast. Still no scratch. Still no problem w/ it's jack. Didn't bother to submerge underwater, though barometer says it's seals work. I've dropped it once from my desk to the wooden floor, no cracks from that. It looks so sweet!! I'll remove my plastic screen protector and update this site again after a month.

 • Everyone who is going to buy Sony, forget it as a nightmare, before i had Xperia Z - same problem with touchscreen even earlier Xperia P - permanent brakes and with the incoming calls, now Z3C - phone bought year ago, used with protective glass + protective which did not save it. Sony looks beautiful, but the build quality and components just awful!!!

 • The Mighty Miniature

 • mine has given the same problem... the headphone jack has some glitch...

 • a good phone tbh , its drain battery when sync is on , otherwise it will last for two days normal use ! i didnt like the speakers the sound sound glitchy , i had a serious problem with the phone and its the headphone jack it stopped working probably and music would cut from a small move from u headphone wire and its not from the headphones dont worry guys i checked other one , so i had to the repair center and here where i suffered teknosat are the worst in this stuff i wish i had bought it from media market there assisstent would be better , now the phone is still being repaired , today i went to take the phone to know that they didnt actually do anything to my problem by saying your headphones are not working which is a lie bcz teknosat repair center is to lazy to work there assssEES . ok to sum everything : 1- yes u should buy this phone 2- dont buy it from teknosat 3- take care while using ur headphones or any headset 4- GO BUY IT DONT LISTEN TO THOSE MY BATTERY IS DRAINING WHINNERS 5- btw it is waterprof ! some mobiles came out from the factory and they were not water prof , but not all , use it at ur own risk . !!

 • Many thanks for your sharing. It worked. But still can't use my finger, just fuctioned by nail or anything not relate to skin. So inconvenient. So this failure caused by hardware or software? Do I need replace touch screen to recover 3 button? Pls advise me.

 • Don't believe that its water resistant - My brand new Z3 died just after I simply rinsed under tep! Silly...

 • Thanks. Actually, I also thought that Z2 is better than Z3C in many ways. I am thinking to buy Z2 in some years (currently I've M4).

 • I have z2 for 1.5yrs and z3c for 7months. Using both but besides the size factor, z2 is better in many ways: better screen (color calubration), slightly better battery life, much better speakers, camera is same

 • If you have battery problems with lollipop, you should reset your phone, UPDATE to lollipop will probably have that issue, though that will make you lose your data

 • Go to display select glove mode and it will work

 • Just a question; Is Z3 Compact better than Z2?

 • All those fragility problems can be easily forgoten with a Ringke Fusion case and a gorila glass adhesive screen protection, buy this Phone, its amazing!

 • I am planning to buy z3 compact. but many people complaining about self cracking screen. It is really true or not?

 • Screen is sensitive. I have changed it ones and have a new crack in it now. Unfortunately the complete screen is dead if you have a small crack in the corner. The screen is expensive change as well (200 Euro) and unfortunately it does not make any sense to change it again since it will probably break soon again.

 • I bought Z3C 6 months ago. It was an excellent phone for me until yesterday when 3 button (back, home, minimize) were suddently dead. I tried all method I know to recover but didn't work. So disappointed. Any one here got same problem? Pls share your experiences. Tks.

 • I have this phone for one year now and it was so good at the beginning! But then I realized all the problems it has... - Since Lollipop the battery is very shitty... It lasts than one day. What's the point of buying a 400€+ phone if you have to turn off all the features... - It heats like crazy... when I am just using Facebook, Maps.ME or even Instagram for a few minutes... It is VERY unpleasant. - The back, made of glass, is very very fragile. It already cracked two times, and the second time it had a cover Ringke Fusion... Not going to repair it again. - When I am walking and I have the phone in my pocket, the pin code is typing all alone... I can feel the phone vibring because the code is not good. But then again the battery doesn't last. OR even weirder, it's unlocked and then the bluetooth, the flashlight, LTE is activated, ALL ALONE... What the f*ck? - Finally, the IP certification is just a big lie. Good thing that Sony changed his policy about it, but it was too late for me... I am going to come back to Apple, at least for the price I never EVER had any lag or any other problem, except the battery life. I was thinking of maybe Blackberry PRIV but I like less and less Android. And the Windows Store is so poor that I don't even think of it...

 • Mine too same here.. Dont know what to do.. Any one has an idea how to fix this?

 • make sure that your brightness is low and the wifi bluetooth ,gps are off and it can last for 2 days if you are not a heavy user which is you are not,and for the repair ,make it ,it may fix the problem

 • Probably water damaged..happened to me months ago..water enter though speaker hole and damaged the screen digitizer..cant swipe down notification toggle unless you go into landscape mode..just go to the nearest sony service centre and do repair..bring your warranty card oso

 • 3 months of use here. Pros: - Excellent Performance - Battery Life - Design! - Screen Colors - Great Digital Sound Procesor Cons - It turns hot very soon after intensive use. - Mi front "shatterproof" screen shattered after it fell from a very low height (mi legs while being sitted)

 • can i use z3 compact with ps3 controller or just compatible with ps4 ??

 • Yes, One day, leaving you 18-25% battery.

 • A minimum of 30hrs, that is if you push it very hard.

 • how long is the battery can last if using mobile data or wifi one day?from malaysia

 • I bought it a week ago and i'm so glad i did. I had to think twice before my purchase because of bad opinions in here. It really is fast and battery lasts a whole day even though i use data streaming up to 5 hours. It certainly is more durable than most bad reviews in here. Depends on how you handle it i think. But self cracking, i doubt it's true. If you want it, go get it! You will not be disappointed.

 • Anyone here who have experience unresponsive screen? especially the upper part (notification area) and the home, back and recent apps area. Can you suggest any possible solution for this problem? Thanks guys

 • Guys I recently got this phone but the proximity sensor works when it's close to 1 cm. Can we increase it?

 • If u have auto-sync on, that might be the problem. I notice that battery will drain a lot more if auto-sync is on.

 • But the phone is advertised as having 2 days of battery life, how is it going to last if every 7 mins it drains by 3%. I'm just hoping to fix this issue by system repair on pc companion

 • I got my Z3C 1 week ago. I must say I'm very disappointed. There are 2 or 3 really stupid mistakes Sony made here. First, the LED flashlight is way to weak, almost useless. It's said to be dimmed to only 30%, making it only as powerful as a normal turned on screen. You need to root the phone to change this. Second, the camera. It's a true sadness. It doesn't seem to be able to take a sharp and clear picture. Always blurry, sometimes more, sometimes less, but that's not it. I'm trying Google Camera now, seems a bit better. Any suggestion which camera app should I use? The third thing would be audio output. It's unpleasantly quiet. I only tried on 2 external speakers, haven't tried headphones yet. But comparing to my old Xperia Ray, it's significantly quieter. However, I can't complain on speed and battery life, those are extraordinary good. But if I was to buy a new phone again, I would not buy Z3C again, even though it's my 4th Sony (5th phone in 12 years).

 • Not the best phone but it's OK for me. I'm using this phone with a panzer glass right now. My phone is rooted using root exploit app and flash pre-rooted lollipop 5.1.1, no need to unlock bootloader, so cool for me. i don't have any problems with the software so far. The phone overheat while i gaming, up to 40 C temp... yeah that's normal. The screen glass is not good, because when you broke the screen, you can't touch it. Good thing is a OTG USB cable that was in the box. You can connect a wired mouse or wireless mouse+keyboard to control your phone, backup everything to Sdcard, and send it to the repair.

 • The best battery phone available in the market awesome Z3 Compact

 • They really should do a follow-up review on these things. They are like an old Ferrari. They're great.......when they run, and often not worth the headache of all of the maintenance or being without it more than you are with it. When it "worked", the battery life was about 15-20% advertised (a widespread problem among these phones) and that is with Stamina mode active and every tip and trick done to extend battery life. Charging was super slow to the point I was using my mobile phone within 1m of an outlet most of the time. Even went to a higher voltage Ipad charger (it was the only way to get a full charge overnight. The OEM charger couldn't make it happen). The phone would constantly restart itself just sitting there standby, sometimes 2-3 times per minute, without explanation or resolution. PC Companion phone repair was done routinely without any change or success. I'm on my 3rd screen. Both occasions cracked without a drop, impact, or any other force that would merit a screen cracking. One screen literally cracked just sitting next to me on a bleacher in a hockey arena. And it's not like an iPhone screen, that if cracked (because you dropped it out of a moving car [it's really the only way to crack them]) will continue to have a functioning digitizer, and won't render the phone worthless. The only saving grace to the Xperia was I could pair my PS4 controller to it and at least navigate menus and such. Though, you look a little ridiculous in public when you have to pull out a PlayStation controller to make (or answer) a phone call. Now I've got the tell tale bad motherboard ailment of a functional, yet totally black display. That is, when the phone decides to turn on and be recognized by the PC companion software. Not quite the Sudden Death that a number of users are reporting, but renders the phone equally useless, nevertheless. Keep in mind, I never even braved trying to test the waterproof nature of the phone. I figured if Sony couldn't make a phone that could withstand the harsh conditions of the spectator area of a hockey arena, or, you know, just work normally, that it probably isn't as waterproof as it is advertised. Despite my, and countless other Z3 compact (and the whole Xperia line for that matter) owners with the same issues (there is a dedicated FB group for the screen issue, btw), Sony offers little to no help, explanation, or assistance. Just the "send it to one of our service centers near you, where you will be without it for a number of weeks, where we will deliver you the terrible news that we can't do anything about it without massive payment for the repairs. And, oh, you'll also have to pay to have it shipped back to you. We're terribly sorry we couldn't make a product worth a damn". It's no wonder Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig were vocal about NOT endorsing Android and the Sony Xperia Z5 in the new Bond film. I guess that's why Moneypenny is the only one in the commercials, and no Sony phone appears in the film. ever. Buyer beware. It was great when it worked, but wasn't worth the headache. Now I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't work, needs massive repair, and isn't worth a lick. At least I don't have any payments or debt from it.

 • i dont see any suffer for this decreasing ,i see it so normal ,so dont get panic other than that if your software is lollipop it actually drains battery more than kitkat ,and for gaming it is so normal that the battery goes down like this , cuz while gaming the processor , the screen, the ram ,all function together so it is absolutely gonna drain like that

 • after latest update, i can't pull down the notification bar anymore. anyone has the same problem?

 • Unfortunately for me my z3 compact suffers a huge battery drain when in use e.g using Facebook for 7 mins drains 3% and playing temple run 2 for 15 mins drains 4% of the battery. Any suggestions as to how to fix the problem?

 • Unfortunately for me my z3 compact suffers a huge battery drain when in use e.g using Facebook for 7 mins drains 3% and playing temple run 2 for 15 mins drains 4% of the battery. Any suggestions as to how to fix the problem?

 • Unfortunately for me,my z3 compact experience a huge battery drain when in use e.g facebooking for 7 mins drains 3%, playing temple run 2 for 15 mins drains 4% of the battery. any solutions to my problem

 • I've had it for about 7months now and no issues. I kept it in a cheap silicone case after i purchase it due the "self cracking" convo online. Now i don't anymore believe in that issue and after i removed the protective silicon case, i fell in love again with the beautiful design of the phone. And i don't anymore find the phone even slippery while using it like it might feel at first. Anyway, such a great phone in every way. Great speed, battery life etc. And honestly hd screen looks great, so no need for FHD nor 4K :) i think I'll stick with Sony phones in the future aswell..

 • Well i don't have a good experience with this device. Water proof flap opens all the time - so this device it's not waterproof - I had before Xperia Z and there was the same problem with the device. Also there is a problem with screen and microphone ( screen is not lighting when i get phone call so i cannot answer or see who calls me - and the worst thing is that screen is actually unstuck after less then a year and i cannot use it for a normal use). Shame because this is not cheap device, but is considered to be the brand so... Battery review okay - like almost all smartphones, maybe day or two depends how much do u really use it...

 • i had it now for year and 1 month ... its the best device i ever had ... no lag , amazing battery , i work as telecommunication eng where i need Data & GPS all day so this is the best solution you can get , its broken now so i replaced it with nexus 5X but i really hope that sony will bring it again with its battery capability , the z5 compact is way back not like this monster ... !!

 • Had the Z3 Compact for a year, not sure why people are giving negative reviews cuz my experience with it is amazing. I dropped it a few times from around waist height and it didn't break. There was this incident where the touch screen wasn't working and I sent it to my local Sony Repair Centre and they repaired it in less than a week. For those who said the customer service was poor, I'm not sure about you guys, but my experience their customer service was great and they even provide extra info/details about the repair. Overall, I love this phone and I do enjoying using and showing off it's unique waterproof feature, not to mention a great camera and battery life.

 • All those fragility problems can be easily forgoten with a Ringke Fusion case and a gorila glass adhesive screen protection, buy this Phone, its amazing!

 • Shame, I thought Sony was quality. Used to be. I have mine on contract with Vodafone, last November, problems with microphones, and screen not lighting up when calls comming in, so can't answer, or use touch screen for numbers, during automated calls, Dies, will not switch on just vibrates even when good charge in battery, plug it into charger for a second and it comes back to life, meant to have been fixed by Vodafone Technicians (Not sure if Sony), same problems, with additional of 'water proof' flap opens all the time, magnetic charger parts also stopped working. Initially promised new replacement under guarantee, but Vodafone told me untruths the first of many, now they will only replace it after failing to fix it 3times! Going to see if Sony are more honest and have more integrity. However was informed that the early models (2014) Had design flaws there was a programme on it, basically saying that even when 'repaired' the early ones malfunction again, a Vodafone employee also stated this. The newer ones are meant to be OK. Though unless you use the magnetic charger, the conventional flap will loosen, and flap open after time, same as the Z2's. Come on Sony, get your reputation back, as solid and reliable and quality please. Thanks

 • my best cell phone Sony Xperia Z3 its too much best cell of sony z serois

 • i bought one and the phone does not recognise the sim card.

 • Gonna Have to buy this one! 9/10.still slightly expensive.Buying it if the price falls around 1,500-2,000 by coming months. As of now the price is still quite expensive which is 27k.

 • if its still under warranty and fixed many times, either reject it via sony manager or claim on house insurance...

 • Not good after 2 months ,it has sudden death and not work again. I brought it to Sony Service Center and the technician said it 'll take long time to get the spare part.2 weeks for sparepart,1 week for repair ,and now it has been 3 weeks since I put my z3 compact in Sony Service Center. If they're correct, it'll take 6 weeks for service, but honestly I doubt for it. My colleagues faced 2 months for repair. :( Just suggestion for you guys, pls buy the mobile phone which has the good service after selling.

 • was really happy with everything about the phone for 2-3 months then the "shatterproof screen" shattered after a slight knock which was cushioned by a coat, not happy at all, im waiting to see what the verdict is after arranging to have it sent back to sony

 • Been Using the phone for the past 3 months. no problems whatsoever. Excellent battery life- easy 2 days with normal usage. performance is more than adequate as well. No negatives to report at all. highly recmommended.

 • Excellent

 • Hahhah, it is not sudden death, it is common battery glitch, just plug it on charger while it is turned off and leave it for 5, 6 hours on charger then turn it on... I am Xperia user since 2011.

 • Ive had similar problems my lcd screen broke! My phone was in my bag hadn't dropped it. My phone was 7 months old when talking to a customer service assistant in a foreign country they were unusually honest and said she had a lot of similar complainrs. One of her curomers had mended his phone three times and it kept happening. My phone provided has refused to mend my phone saying i must have dropped it because of the screen problem it only does this when pressure has been applied. Ive been advised by two other independent phone companies not to mend it beacuse its widely known in this industry that this particular model has this problem and shall probably break again.

 • I want to get this phone, but after seeing people's review of, I am scared mine will spoil easily and my money will be wasted, should I just get an xperia z1 compact, or should I just get this phone. Would buying a case help!?!?!?

 • I've had this phone 14 months - amazing battery life great phone to use BUT: flaps don't close, terrible glue used and this phone slowly disintegrates. Screen essentially falls off, flaps fall off, magnetic charger falls off. The volume button got stuck so had to disassemble that side. Build quality ZERO

 • Seems you are not alone there are other people reporting screen or back cover (which is also glass) breaking by themselves. Maybe a bad batch. Thankfully I dropped wife's twice on wood floor and nothing happened, not even a dent

 • not good after 4 months it has sudden death and not work again this drawback is very common in sony mobiles

 • Worst phone ever! screen broken 3 times, for stupide reasons, in less than 5 months. I will never buy a Sony mobile again!

 • Without prior planning I got this wonderful phone and it is pity how is not valued properly. Great mobile phone, great specs...

 • Read all of the great reviews, and hurried off to by my Sony Xperia. The Sim-card flap didn't close, so I looked on the internet and found it was a fault, so I sent it back and got a new one. Ignoring my prejudices at some of the negative reviews, I began using my new, repaired one. Two months on I dropped it from 50 cm (46 to be precise) which is 18 inches, onto a soft carpet. It fell face up, but nevertheless a crack appeared in the screen (which hadn't even hit the floor), and the top three-fifths were rendered useless. Can't type in password, and can't even turn it on. When you find out about the pros (water-proof, great battery life) you think 'oh great phone'. The reality is, unless you keep it wrapped in bloody bubble wrap all the time, it will, realistically drop, and immediately break. So, verdict? Not worth the price, although it would be a great phone if not for that.

 • This phone is awesome, I don't know about you but I have no problem whatsoever :)

 • Use to be fan Sony. Not anymore. Worst scren ever. Third time in less than 8 month screen broken. So I've just paid the phone one more time. Have to look some were else than Sony.

 • Using this phone for about 8 months and I can say that it is an excellent device. If you don't need a big screen or you don't want to search all the time for a plug to charge your phone, go for it.

 • I bought this phone last May 2015 and unfortunately after 4 months of use its bluetooth and wifi wont turn on anymore so i brought it to a sony service center and technician there told me that the motherboard has to be replaced. And to date, its been a month since i had my sony z3c for repair. I must say I regret that i bought this phone.:-(

 • Hello, In fact i have been happy with Sony Z1 , and wanted to get the small new version of Z3 compact BUT IT WAS A MISTAKE when i bought it November 2014 as soon as it came out, by March 2015, less than 5 months from buying it I found the screen getting detached from the phone , and the SDcard holder decided to eject the memory card on its own. Since i bought it from UAE , i had to send it back to be fixed, and cost me time to transport it. Then it has been delivered to the agent and found that these issues are common within this model. WHICH IS A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. received it back in September and within 2 days found that the SD CARD is still ejecting , so left it in UAE to be fixed received it back yesterday to find that the Touch Sensor of the top of the screen is not working and i can not drop down the notification menu. tried the diagnostics tool and found that i can not clear the very top part of the screen. THIS IS REALLY CHEAP quality of service, and Hardware. I do not understand how would a maintenance center of a SONY AGENT does not fix what they deliver before delivery. In addition to the fact this experience reflects a real cheap product and terrible after sale service. Am i suppose to through out a phone that i have paid quiet a lot for only after using it like 4 months ?????????? my warranty will be void soon, and due to the different countries it takes time to get it fixed then get it back to use and test. any advice?

 • After some time i m use z2 update lolipop otg bug show . otg not support on lolipop version. Z3c batter handling compare z3 and z2 . Z3c fast charging compare z2. Battery backup also better on z3c.

 • Z3c is best phone battery is awesone 3day battery backup

 • Z3 compact for sure

 • Hi! Which of the following would you buy (in case of the same price)? - Xperia Z3 Compact - Huawei P8 The two most significant features are: battery life (z3c) vs (fhd screen) Thx

 • Each corner now has a nylon cap which aims to save the phone from serious drops. In a few weeks of testing I’ve dropped the handset on all manner of surfaces and, so far, there is no real damage visible on the handset. The corners have allowed it to bounce to safety instead.

 • Yes, it has LED notification light on the front.

 • Yes it does.

 • Yes, It does a light notification led on the left at the top of the cellphone.

 • Yes, it has a front notification light.

 • Does this phone have led notification light on the front?

 • Come back in two months and you won't be saying that! I'll wager your screen is cracked and your perfect phone is useless. Poor quality glass, or just too thin, IMO

 • Haz any one get problem with touch sensor..? Mine got stuck with the quick notification bar..

 • I have hearing speaker problem Any one have this problem What ll do...?

 • I have hearing speaker problem Any one have this problem What ll do...?

 • Excellent phone, would definitely go for again. Battery life the best I have had out of any phone in years (60% left at the end of a day with regular use). Camera low light is superb, though the flash light is not as good as some other (e.g. iphone 5c) but you don't really need to use it for photos, though a bit annoying when using it as a torch. Being waterproof is a great bonus and have used it a number of times underwater with great effect. Processor seems fast enough and having an option for a SD card is brilliant (£20 for an extra 64gb). Build quality seems good and its nice to have things like a screen protector and USB OTG adapter included in the box. One complaint is that Sony dont include a "Quick Charge" charger as standard, I have purchased one for the car and its brilliant. Otherwise a superb phone and the next Compact Z series definitely top of the list for my next phone.

 • My friend, Fawzy, had the same predicament.

 • Have used for about 6 months The major flaw is the headphone jack shorted -- for me i never use it so i don't really care but when i resell my phone it won't be too good. The battery life is not as good as its made out to be. I can get through a day easily but I hardly use my phone except for 2 hours of screen time for web surfing. Heavy duty users will need to keep the charger nearby. Pros 1) size 2) powerful 3) camera is good quality but slow 4) water-resistance 5) lollipop update made battery worse, it was better on ics 6) can charge by using magnetic cradle Cons 1) Faulty headphone jack -- common problem i guess 2) camera is slow ( but pics are good most of the time) 3) usb port is covered which is annoying to have to remove the cover just to access it. 4) NANO SIM == i don't know why android manufacturers decide to follow apple in everything. There is no reason to use it, the microsim was small enough I don't know why they thought this was a good idea. I dislike apple and I'm not sure why good manufacturers feel the need to follow a company who is not really leading the race anymore.

 • That's exactly what happened with my phone, both screen cracked just after 4 months!! I had iPhone 5 before, and even after a hundred of accidents it had only few scratches!!! I'm very disappointed with Xperia Z3 compact!!

 • I plan to purchase this amazing smartphone this month I saw the space, they are ultimate I am fan after listen Hi res audio song...

 • Generally I found this phone to be alright. The phone proved to be water proof when used within IP65 and IP68 specification (fresh water) and although it seems to be far from a 2 day battery during medium everyday use it was still enough to get me through a 9-5 working day. May have just been a problem of my unit but within 6 months of purchasing my phone I had to send mine back to Sony for a warranty claim due to an unacceptable number of hardware issues for example; faulty headphone jack, faulty top speaker and a screen issue that made it as if the screen was lifting when pressure was applied. I would purchase this phone again if not for the faulty hardware.

 • if bigger screen size matters to you, go for Z2, otw Z3 compact is better

 • I bought this phone z3 compact in July, battery life was good but not extraordinary as advertised. With the update released just last week battery life is amazing. Earlier it use to lose battery in standby buy not now. I used it light 1 hr of screen on time, couple of short calls and after 24 hours it lost only 18%. I can say after update it's living upto its name

 • seems like stouts working hard to defame sony high quality products. cheap phones now a days are doing well. and i am sure sony quality is much better than cheap china androids

 • Please do not submerge device in water or even try to splash water on it. While I have seen people do this with the device fully functional under water or in the shower, the devices have shown signs of defectiveness after being in contact with water. It seems as if this has become a "standard" only to prevent phones from getting damaged while being used in the rain or getting wet. To be safe, treat this phone as if water will blow it up.

 • xperia z2 vs xperia z3 compact who is the best pleas tell me

 • About waterproof. My previous post below yours explain how the users themselves can cause it to fail. Deal with it and be smart.

 • I am an xperia die hard and this latest brand has killed it. Pros 1. Great feel on the hand 2. Fast 3. Great colours with graphics that are not full HD 4. Awesome updates Cons Overheats infrequently

 • I own one, for about 8 months now, it has unresolved headphone or mini jack issue/problem. It just stopped recognising any headsets, of all brands/kinds/types... Oh, and this is not an opinion. ITS A FACT!!! and I'm not the only one with the problem.

 • DO NOT PURCHASE After 11 months WiFI/Bluetooth has stopped working - Looks like a mainboard replacement. Lots of users reporting cracked screens (front and back) for no apparent reason. The waterproofing is just a gimmick - just more expensive to replace and fragile. Cat S50 or Aspera R6 - while not perfect - cheaper.

 • You need to learn more about chemistry so you can understand which one is "fresh" water and which one is not.

 • I've used this phone for about 8 months and it's pretty amazing. Battery works so fine, and seems nothing's bad for this awesome beast but one thing yet ironically...when Sony build these up with 20.7 MP cameras and stuffs but with a very cheap plastic lens cover which is VERY easy to be scratched, and it happened on my phone. I got to remove it with a new one and its fine now but it still annoys me sometime. I hope Sony will consider this in the future if they still want to seriously compete on a high-end premium smartphone.

 • I believe this "phone" is one of the best phones for many reasons 1. Fast for whatever you are doing on it 2. battery life is unremarkable 3. Water resistant "which is very reliable if you are not dumb"

 • Phone is (or rather was) okay, but the water resistance is a HUGE SCAM. Never buying a Sony product again.

 • This is bullshit. I own Z3 Compact for almost 1 year now. Great phone, great battery & great updates. Last week I dropped it in a restaurant & there is no even a scratch. No scratches to be seen after almost 1 year of use without any protection. I've made demonstrations in the sink for my friends - phone proved to be 100% waterproof. Stop trolling, please.

 • Worst phone I ever owned after having Apple. Batterylife being drained by something, phone overheats, regular freezez. Menus were designed by an idiot. Dont buy this nonsense phone

 • Hahaha u were very true

 • Yah i even sold mine 5.1 to get this beast and enjoying it...

 • Someone help me.... I love this phone. I have a 5.3 phone. I have a little doubt about 4.6 size Anybody can say is this phone enough for web or gaming or els

 • New 5.1.1 (24/09/2015) update got some bugs.... Black clock removed...

 • I agree with you.. I charge mine everyday but I am an extreme user because I am on long vacation rigth now so I got nothing to do but to play with my z3c all day. I notice that some games eats a lot of battery like blitz brigade but some are not like respawnables. Also, there are tips in xdaforums on how to increse the battery life of this device and it helped me a lot. I uninstalled some bloatwares and disabled almost all of google apps like google map and location. Uninstall and disable all apps that you dont need for example I don't have any Playstation at home so I disabled remote play app. Also, do you notice dropping battery by more than 3 percent when you are not using it? If yes, then you have a problem and should factory reset your phone. Mine drops only 2 percent without using for 10 hours. Also, you can gain access to developer options and disable and enable some features (google it) Download greenify(it can work without root). i think it can go 2 days with moderate usage and 3 days with very ligth usage. You can also enable stamina mode, ultra stamina, etc. Your last option is rooting, it will help you save lots of battery. But personally, I didn't feel I need to root my phone because it can already satisfy my needs. Hope this helps.

 • Yes like anyone would ever believe that. I will teach you how to lie. First tip: follow this sequence intoduction, rising action, climax, and conclusion. Second tip: never mention the brand that you are trying to promote because everyone would know that you are only promoting that brand. Here is a perfect example: "Hi, I am from Canada I bought this device from a Sony store so I thought it would be a perfect device. At first I am contented with this device but after 6 months it couldn't be updated and became laggy as hell. I searched in the internet on how will I fix this device but I learned that many users also experienced this. I tried to ask a help in sony store but they said it is not a part of warranty I met this guy in store that is also complaining about this device. As much as I love this phone I want to advise you to stay away from any Sony phones. The end". See? There is an introduction, rising action, climax, and conclusion. If you follow my tips maybe Samsung would promote you from your cheap trolling writting career. Goodluck :)

 • I have owned Z3 compact for about half a year. There are some serious issues about this phone: 1) Hydrophobic coating on the camera lens hazes within 1-3 months of use to a level that camera pictures are unusable, at least if you carry the phone in our pocket. This is irreversible. You can decrease the haze a bit by using toothpaste to smear off the coating. 2) Back cover is thin and fragile glass. There is no way you can keep it intact. Mine looks like a car windshield after head-on collision. Front glass (the screen) is not quite as fragile, but at least mine is fractured already, without any impact. 3) Water-proofness is a bad joke. The user manual says plain and clear that if the phone gets wet, it's not covered by the warraty. Given the eggshell-back cover, there is nothing waterproof about this phone. Some goods things: - The (separately sold ) charging dock is great! No more fiddling with cables. - Battery life is pretty good. It becomes very good if you activate the Stamina features, but that also causes that your calendar notifications will not alarm at correct time anymore. Oh yeah, one more thing: 4) The flashlight power really sucks! Compared to Samsung Galaxy S2 and S4 that I had earlier, the difference is like candle and car headlight.

 • Amazing phone.don't know how to say... ITS THE BEST

 • This is a great phone: I put a case mate on it, and a glass tough protector.I've dropped it etc, no problems. Use a software cool program Cm, don't run it under the tap to cool it down, I occasionally reboot. Apple is on 1720ma battery. This is 2800, great, and a 128gb sd card if you want lots of data storage...

 • I have bought just 8months ago now my mobile hanging.I thought good when I bought but now I am feeling very bad.even one year not complete but hanging lot lot lot and keyboard also not working .I am suggesting to guys better don't buy sony brand Samsung is much better than this.please sony have to improve much more.

 • ive had this phone since December 2014 great phone to use and awesome battery life but there is an issue with the screens cracking for no good reason had 2 replaced the second time sony wanted to charge me but after a complaint they sent me a new one. that was good until I dropped it and once the screen is cracked the phone is useless. its not like an iphone where the class can be cracked and falling out and it can still be used. a small hairline crack will render this phone useless. only buy it if you are really careful and work in an office not for tradies.

 • You have to buy quick charge2.0 certified charger.not available with sony

 • hi everyone i bought this phone thinking hell yeah it has a great battery life but boy was i wrong i ve dissconected chager at 9.30am and now its 22h and batt. is on 37% yet i was not abuseing this phone and the brihgtness of screen was auto. i mean the battery is good but not so great as i was thinking because if i ve used as i use my other phones it s not so good !!! i m going to download now fifa 15 and play it until it dies

 • quick charge is not true Fast battery charging: 60% in 30 min (Quick Charge 2.0) is lie

 • I agree with the cheap screen part. Mine got easily scratched and i never did something to scratch it!!! But few things like the good battery life, good screen : body ratio, nice skin and fluid OS makes me love this phone. The heating issue and finger print prone sandwiched glasses are a down!

 • Stay away from this phone. The screen cracks for no apparent reason and it's ultra expensive to fix. Mine cracked after 2 weeks. Did not bother to fix it because I know it would just crack again. Buy a more durable phone and spare yourself the aggravation.

 • been using this phone for a little over 5 months now and i must say it is a very good one. there are a few issues such as overheating but they can be overcome. the only real problem i have is the fact that my vibration stopped working all of a sudden after the new update.

 • Yes you should avoid suggest avoiding the whole series? Lol..

 • I have got best results on Z3 compact in benchmarks running 5.1.1 stock sony fw...

 • You must reset the phone for each upgrade. I did same thing and no more issues after all. Try again and see how it goes.

 • My experience of sony service is exactly opposite, bought z3c in august 15 which stopped working with in a week, after submission service center reported some 8 parts replacement and mother board i was shocked , i called up the seller and reported it to him, he told me that i should force them for new piece for which they agreed later on with lot of complications and wasting lot of time , one month is almost over and still waiting. In my opinion product might be good which i am yet to test but after sale service of sony is horrible, i am very disappointed to receive such kind of service after buying premium series from a premium brand.

 • Z3c is really great phone.But I don t see some big difference between z1c.I mean,why would I pay about 100$ more?

 • I ve been using z3c for two months and it s doing great. No heating issue no water ressistance issue i ve dropped it in a bucket of water the first Day i got it and nothing happend. The i took it and put it in a sink and let the water flow. Everything is apsolutely fine. I am just dissappointed with small internal memory. But there is a sd memory card for everyone who feels the same i do... Overall the z3c is a super phone!

 • I bought one with subscription from local service provider. After two months the display started to slip away from the device. I sent it to service and they replaced the phone with a new one for free. I thought the issue would be just bad luck and only for the first one. The second started to slip from the device only after two weeks of use. I went back to a Samsung phone straight away. Otherwise it is a great phone. It is cool that the display is so slim, but overheating is causing this problem.

 • Sony fully fixed the damaged pieces of my Z3C after I sunk it under the pool (exactly the same situation than yours) This time was their fault since the little plastic recovery of the upper flag was missing (due to lack of glue) and therefore the phone wasn't waterproof. I am very grateful to SONY,they acted proffessionally and quick.

 • Why do I see a lot of negative comments about this phone? I've been using this phone for almost a year now and I don't have the problems most people are reporting. I bought this phone in mid October 2014 and this is my best phone until now. I don't encounter lag issue. Initially the OS was Kitkat but I upgraded to Lollipop earlier this year. I have to say that the battery does drain a bit faster but you just remember the 40% - 80% battery rule. I took this phone out in the rain, drop it in tap water, took a few shower with me when the day gets hot and it's still fully functioning until now. I seldom open the USB port because I usually recharge my battery using a magnetic dock. I don't experience much of heating issue. Even if I do, I will give it a fresh shower and the issue is gone. My camera didn't lose focus, I still can shoot clear photographs in either auto or manual or any other mode. I love creative effect and background defocus a lot. They give a depth to the photo captured. So that's all I have with my Z3 Compact. No problem and I hope it'll stay this way for few more years. 😊

 • What are the pros and cons of this phone? I am currently using Xperia L.

 • Agreed.

 • Good phone, but water resistance is just bullshit.

 • It says it's waterproof, how come I could not see anything on my screen after dipping it onto the pool??Apparently,my z3c is not functioning right now and I have to spend much just to fix it. I guess the "waterproof" thingy was just a baloney after all.

 • I have the Sony xperia z3 compact, and the back of phone cracked while in my pocket after just a couple of days. The camera stoped focusing after that.... Then I bought "unbrakable glass" witch I mounted on the front of the phone. After a couple of months, the front glas broke (also while it was in my pocket), but the "unbrakable" front glas was still intact! The phone is of increadible poor quality, and I would never recomend this phone to anyone!

 • I took my z3 swimming guess what it goosed now

 • Best Phone just i have one issue Z5 Compact comes with tough coating screen but not Z3 compact remaining all are superb.

 • First I saw positive comments about this phone and got one. Now i see mostly negative comments. I m using it since a month and its going great. God knows how people handle it and face issues.

 • its hard to find anything rock solid here for everone that says z3compact is good theres one that has a horror story about, that coupled with just how poor the dam grammar is my god im not expert on english but i almost feel less knowledgeable on this subject having read a few pages,

 • I had a Z3 Compact for 4 days before the screen cracked... in my pocket! Sony have refused to repair this under their warranty and refuse liabiity for the problem. I've been left with the choice of paying for the repair of an item whose fault I did not cause or giving up altogether. Not good.

 • You have reset button next to sim tray, push it with something small for few sec and then try to turn phone on. If that doesn't work you can reinstall android software with sony pc companion.

 • I had my compact for months now and had updated its software the latest of the lollipop version. however, my phone when blank a few use after it was successfully updated. it won't start up. HELP! I guess the lollipop update was a bad move. can anyone help me? ;(

 • Same problem as countless before me--screen separating screen from the device after only 6 months. No physical damage to cause it, either. I advise staying away from this phone.

 • Smae problem. The front screen separated 2 times on the left corner

 • I'm a z3 compact owner and after 8 months the front of the mobile (screen) gradually separated from the the back. My guess is because of overheating since device never suffered any physical damage (dropped and etc). So I would avoid suggest avoiding whole series.... p.s. Sony is not replacing faulty device even though you have warranty. Mobile is still being serviced after 1 month and I'm positive it won't be waterproof anymore ;)

 • Do a factory reset and all ur problems will be over.

 • I have few tips. I read many blogs, reviews etc. All says it's best to keep our battery between 40% to 80%. I'm following it. For my convenience, I installed battery alert. It gives a notification tone when my battery reaches 80% while charging. Then I installed battery solo widget. We can keep it as a widget in home screen. When giving a single touch, it says out battery temperature.

 • The music quality is top notch. One of the best. I'm in Android 4.4.4 and I don't see any issues. It's going smooth. And I use both screen guard and case. I got the tempered glass as free with my purchase. I got a transparent silicon case from online. I'm using a green colour phone. So I like showing off. So bought a transparent case.

 • Exactly my friend. Lest wait for review, if Z5 compact overheat I will buy this beast Z3 compact.

 • Hey Kumar, glad to see you happy with your Z3 Compact. It's your Z3 compact still Kitkat or you upgrade to Lollipop? Some people say battery life is shorter on Lollipop.

 • did u use a case and screen protector??? If not, then you might need to be a bit more careful... ;)

 • is this best for music??????????????????

 • Best smartphone and i bet you will never find a compact perfect phone like this ever again.

 • I'm a happy owner of my z3 compact. It's an awesome phone for particular category users like me. I do always prefer compact phones. A phone which should be easy to pick from pocket and shouldn't feel awkwardly big while taking phone calls. This phone is a real beast in all departments. The screen clarity, camera clarity and the sound quality are the awesome features. I'm using a green one. This phone is absolutely for people who prefer compact phones. Though the phone is compact, it's actually 4.6 inch display. So looking at the display estate, it's really good. The one thing which will impress everyone is the amazing battery life. I'm a moderate user and getting a battery life of about 2.5 to 3 days. Camera clarity is superior and the sound quality is awesome. The only thing is people quite won't believe that this is a 30k phone. As I hear people say I spent too much for a small phone. But that's the way it goes. It's a real flagship. Never let's you down. The processor never freeze nor slow down. It's super fast. And people just don't complain about screen cracking. As we spend too much for a phone, it's our responsibility to keep it safe. My 1 year old Xperia e3 still looks fresh out of the box. It's the way how we handle them. So I completely advice people to go for this beast. You will never regret.

 • Wait until z5c goes on shelfs and buy z3c for discounted price. Thats what I are going to do. Unless z5c doesnt have heat probs as it has shitty 810.

 • Is it good to wait for a Z5c...? Or Shall I go For Z3c...? Plz suggest me...

 • The perfect phone..... except that both front and back glass have now cracked while not in use making the phone useless - Sony appears to still take no responsibility for this well known problem, even though heat seems to be the cause in some way.

 • Best phone and perfect battery life. White color looks outstanding. No hangs and no plastic feels but can be slippery.

 • Love this beautiful compact beast Excellent battery life Nice colours superb gaming experience

 • I am using this phone more than 3 weeks now. Really good phone. Battery life is amazing. Superior Auto mode of the camera is hell. But IF you set your setting in to manual. And will select after good settings according to situation It will gives amazing photos too. The pictures which are taken under law lights are have very good quality. I have used samsung S2plus more than 1 year. It is sucks. But this phone is really good.

 • They're almost the same. You should choose by their size basically: Z3C 4.6 inches, Z3 5.2 inches.

 • which one much better? xperia Z3 or xperia Z3 compact?

 • Yeah mine too, I don't like hard case etc like that because I love this phone model. And I drop it twice but no crack at all not like Zen, you drop it you must replace the screen with a new one like my friends who buy that phone. Samsung? Nah I don't like a phone with no creativity design etc.

 • Before this lovely phone, I have try Z1C but unfortunately after SIM Card cannot detected I just sold it and then I try IPhone 6. In IPhone 6 I just use it for a month because I don't like it and then I choose this Z3C until now. And I realy like it so much.

 • I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion that iPhones aren't for powerusers, jailbreak it and you will understand why. Likewise, Android is only truly for powerusers once you root it (this despite having much more flexibility even when unrooted). On the other hand, while iOS can be acclaimed for easiness of use by "regular users", Android usually suffers from the interface fragmentation created by all those flavors each manufacturer shovels down your throat. That is, when you buy an Android the way it will look and work will not be universal out-of-the-box, which makes it "harder" to use because one must relearn a new interface and it's ways every time the phone manufacturer changes. I wouldn't trade Android/AOSP for anything though... (and here Sony is scoring big with their newly found support for AOSP)

 • Z3C is a great phone. I love my Z3C with a cute design, amazing battery life and quality sound.

 • This phone was dead within one week of buying, motherboard and 8 more parts are to be replaced, no response from company as of now, what is the sense of buying big brand costly phones with such type of horrible after sales service.

 • iPhone is for average users, who know nothing about the real features packed in a phone. Its not a bad phone, but its way overpriced. On the other hand, Android is for powerusers, who actually know, how they can turn their phones into real portable PC-s. Z3 compact is for those people, and I can say, that it is a really good phone in general. I am happy with its performance, the only downside for me is that the camera lens scratch easily. Other than that (and the bloatware it comes with xD) I cant say anything bad about it.

 • Tell me guyz Z3 compact is gud or not becuz i want to buy this phone

 • Very poor build quality. The back is made of a brittle material and it has smashed twice with relatively gentle drops onto hard floors that my old Samsung S2 would have survived with scarcely a dent. The piping around the side has spontaneously crumbled away at one corner. Then today the battery has failed to recharge when plugged in. Utterly useless and all this has happened within the first year of purchase. Plus, very few companies make accessories like shock-proof cases, of the kind that are made for Iphone. Avoid.

 • Bwahahahaha nice one. Agree with u but I dont like them with not sharing files and downliading music etc.

 • That may be, but iPhone 6 will make you a happy man on planet earth PLUS the rest of the planets in the solar system. So I guess iPhone 6 wins.

 • Go for z3 compact if u want to be happy man on the planet earth.

 • Every person who complains about their Z3 compact is a poor looser who wanted to save some cash and buyed patethic Z3C replica from unauthorized vendors. So stop beeing so cheap and buy real phone !!!

 • which is better iphone 6 or z3 compact?

 • This is the perfect phone. The design, battery life, camera and everything is just basically on point. I don't understand why it gets some bad reviews. Buy the original one from Sony! Mine never lags. It's been almost 4 months and I haven't got any problems and although it fell like 3 times (and I'm using it without any cover bc oh it's just so pretty to look at), there are no cracks and the phone still functions great?? The greatest Android phone ever made, period.

 • I use Z3C for 6 months. No problems whatsoever. It even felt few times from reasonable height, like table or my pocket with no signs or scratches. Software updates are regular, from stock 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 at this point, with rumors up to Marshmallow. Fluid, good battery life, I would definitely buy new Sony top smarthphone of this size when my contract expires.

 • Possibly u don't know how to use a smartphone dude!

 • I had this phone for 6 months ... first the glass panel became loose and was about to come off..then the touch screen stopped working ..given for exchange

 • This is a perfect smartphone and all those guys saying that screen cracks and bla bla must be telling lies. I am using since 5 months and its a great phone without any issues. Those guys might have bought cloned Z3 compact. Pity on those people.

 • Samsung used bad tactics against HTC, they hired people to write negative reviews of HTC and praise their Samsung products; they were fined but apparently it was nothing compare with the damage they could cost. Who knows if they're still doing it with other companies

 • Wow there are many trolls in here. Maybe they are bitter because their s5 and s6 lags because of touchwiz. And their s6 cracks. By the way japanese(sony) are better in technologies. While korea(samsung) are good in advertisments ans false advertising (google "samsung sued for paying people to write wrong reviews".

 • This phone does not crack. I am have it almost 9 months and i had never put any screen protector or a case.. I dropped it several times and put it under my pillow every night. It doesnt have any cracks nor scratch. I had seen my mother's iphone screen cracked because of the mere pressure by putting her phone under her pillow while sleeping.

 • I hear a lot of addvantage of this smart phone as follow: Size, camera quality, IP capability, Sound quality, and so on. Do you think I can buy better performance mobile phone with the same price? Thanks

 • Cracked 3 times already, this phone is a total nightmare!!! I want to get rid of it but 've spent too much money on it already

 • My screen aslo cracked a little. then the touch pad did not work.

 • i notice many people comment about the screen very fragile (crack), is there any accessories to prevent this to happen?

 • Retarded build quality. 3 times screen or back glass broke! Then one time wasnt waterproof enough at shut down after just 20 seconds in the pool. I got one to one exchange, but what a nightmare

 • Overall camera performance was better with Samsung s5

 • And what about camera? Which phone has better camera? Does sony xperia z3 compact takes undersaturated photos than s5?

 • Well I just migrated from Samsung s5 to z3 compact and my experience is as follows since using it past one week. 1. Much better battery life upto 2 days with normal use. 2. Handy size and fits well in pocket. 3. No lags and no hanging even after downloading lots of apps and games 4. Very fast and the body materials made looks damn sexy 5. Camera wise I feel Samsung s5 was better than Sony z3 compact 6. Body Covers can be difficult to find in market. So I am enjoying it and there is no heating issues.

 • Never experienced this on any of my 6 Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. This phones works fantastic.

 • I 've problem with z3c.sound repeted while using programs like talkray, skype .plz help me

 • While this phone can perform very well and capable of running with no lag, there are many issues with it. The Z3C heats up instantly from the minute you start using it, no matter what you're doing. After Lollipop update, heating is much worse and the phone battery dropped ike 30%. Camera software needs optimization, it's sad that the Z3C with 20MP camera takes worse pictures than Samsung's 8MP camera. Also, the flaps tends to get loose after a while. Overall I will be selling this phone and going for Lenovo with monster battery.

 • I wanted to know if I update from kitkat to lolipop will it take up alot of internal memory space. It did for my Xperia Ray and I can only download a few apps. And another thing is does the front camera have the HD vibe?

 • Is it significantly superior compared to Z1 compact?

 • I highly recommend you take the z3 compact if you can get it and z2 at nearly the same price. It's smooth and strong, very handy. Fits perfectly in my hand. The one thing z2 wins that actually counts is the bigger display and fullhd but trust me Z3c display is beautiful you would not miss out much. Came from iPhone 5s this is my 1st android phone, never go back to ios again. Worth every penny, that little Z3c is a beast with battery. But anyways both are good phones you can't go wrong with any of them

 • I had about 20 android phones in my life. This one is only that connect to gps in my room. Have the best gps of all 20.

 • Z3 compact is great I m using it

 • Will Sony Xperia z3 compact support fast charging.... Then tell me what is the model number of charger and data cable using ???? Please tell me... Thanx

 • I am between Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3 compact. Please tell me, which should i buy? I need to know, screen, camera, stereo speakers and sound quality, battery life? Thank you a lot, if anyone can reply ...

 • Z3 Compact is very lovely Smartphone nice build.Every thing in this phone is just a perfect.I personally feel 4.5 maximum 4.7 is the ideal size of Smartphones. We can use it very simply easy to operate with single hand.I suggest go for Z 3 Compact.

 • No comparison with z3 compact..... Awsome mobile..... Ppl who want better battery better music and videos...blindly go for this.... Best phone ever..... Very compact in hand love it bafly.... 1year since us8ng

 • I recommend the Panzer Glass: They have offices in Dubai, at least announced in the website.

 • Yes the standard earpiece is pretty average, the Z2 had the noise-cancelling version. You can buy that version as an accessory for the Z3 Compact, I have and think it's worth the money.

 • This is one of the best phone ever made by SONY .

 • about the accessories buy from aliexpress like i do and they send it to uae too

 • yeah for me too, 16gb will be full really fast hope z4 compact has 32gb internal

 • And also one more this the headphone quality is just as same as normal Samsung galaxy phones. Nothing special. I heared that the headphones coming with Z2 is good.

 • I am using z3c more than a year ago. No problem at all.only one thing i noticed that nowadays 16 gb internal is not enough. What the anoying this is the water proofing flaps for charging. Open and close for charging. One time i droped while charging and the flap support is got bent but not broken. And the dock charger is costly that y u cannot go for it. And the main disadvantages against iphone and Samsung is the accessories like cover, protector, is not available in ur choice. Atleat in UAE. I search for the clear silicon back cover but........

 • Recently I purchased Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and I would like to give my opinion about this mobile phone. According to my experience, this mobile phone is a truly exceptional phone. The experience is as if " I am holding a miniature Laptop with Intel Core i5 processor". Good battery back up, atleast comfortably will last the entire day. Display, is absolutely fantastic. Camera, you actually don't need any professional camera after you own this mobile. Its very sophisticated in looks, quite stylish. I don't have any interest to play GAMES so I don't know or can't comment anything about the performance of this mobile while playing heavy GAMES, but yes, graphics are absolutely stunning, and its very good for using from a Business point of view. At last, I would strongly recommend this mobile to all the viewers who ever wants to invest into a quality mobile and own it for atleast a year or more...... !!!

 • both of them give you what you expect , go for the better size for you , I've z3c which is amazing , also the z3 is good I used it for a while before my z3c

 • Hey mate. I just switched from Alpha to Z3 compact exactly because of the camera. Main problems with Alpha's camera - heavy processing (both noise reduction and sharpening), picture look at 100% like painted with watercolor. You only have auto mode and the sw usually chooses a quite slow shutter speed in most cases (almost like thinking it had OIS) so i ended up with a lot of blurry images. Later on i started to do 3-4 pictures of everything thinking maybe one pic would come out less blurry. Low light performance is terrible. Comming from Galaxy S2 i felt i didn't even upgrade in terms of camera. I'm having so much fun with Z3C camera and can't believe reviewers said Alpha were better in terms of camera. You don't get full manual control, but in the manual mode you can tweak the picture with scene modes. Also there's a mod which allows full res in auto and scene modes.

 • Just got my z3 compact yesterday.. and it's very awesome! have had experience of heating issue just this morning when i updated the software to Lollipop (didn't experience heating prior to software update). you'll never regret getting this phone! cheers

 • Plz suggest which phone is better z3 compact or z3

 • Love this phone so much! It's lightning fast and the perfect size. Really the perfect phone overall.

 • I've been looking at this phone for a while now. The size is a massive plus. Also I need a good GPS and Bluetooth smart. What do you guys think about this, Z1c or LG G3?

 • I don't own one, but in Sony's official video showing the new features that come with their version of lollipop it shows that you can move apps to the sd card after updating.

 • on the old version they couldn't but now on lollipop they can but not all the apps. It depends on the app. The phone is good the only downs to it is the front facing camera and the internal storage capacity (16gb).

 • its only allowed after upgrading to Lollipop.

 • Had this for 9 months, never had any problems with it. Battery lasted forever and after the software update the difference in battery life was minimal. It has dual speakers at the front, which I miss now I'm using an S6 (along with expandable memory!) however, only one speaker is used in the handsfree mode, this meant the phone isn't as loud in-call as it is streaming videos/music. The glass is a really beautiful finish, and never cracked or scratched in my hands, however, the white plastic edges started to chip, and the rubber seal inside the flap covering the charging port came away, I replaced it and from then on used the magnetic charging cable. It charges fast, and Sony's magnetic cable takes up less space than Samsung's magnetic dock. It's the perfect size for one hand use but not as light as other handsets. Never experienced any lag, even when the internal memory was full, and I had a full sd card in. I used WisePilot/Sat nav a lot and the phone never slowed down. The screen is very responsive with things like 'double tap to wake up'. File Commander is brilliant at managing storage. It could be of better build quality but overall a great phone to use for the price. If you want flagship features but need to stick to a budget or size, this is a really good buy... Just make sure you get a decent cover.

 • Can somebody who owns the z3c tell me if it is possible to move apps to the microsd card, because I've seen people say that it doesn't work.

 • I had my z3c 3 mnths as well.decided to upgrade to android 5.1.1,but the battery drains much faster now.overall a very good phone,i love it.

 • A beautiful phone, but really poorly made. Had for a few months and had to send it in for repairs, proximity sensor stopped working, as did the microphone. Bought a second phone because I liked the look of it so much and within a couple of months the magnetic charging port has started to come unattached from the phone.

 • Whoever said a soulmate must be human is very wrong. I found mine in this phone. Smooth, slick, veery fast, extremely powerful with awesome camera and the best sound reproduction!! If you're having second thoughts about it I'm here to reassure you this is the best phone ever.

 • I'm currently using Android Lollipop now on my Z3 Compact. The interface is very nice and still doesn't lag. The only problem is that it overheats easily and the battery drains quickly, but still it's still average for me. I recommend you to upgrade if you want a new interface and the best out of Google, but if you want more battery life, just stay with Kitkat and don't upgrade.

 • I hade my z3c replaced for 3 times because the screen falls out, the 4th time i changed it to a samnung s6. The sony xperia z3c is built like shit. water resistant but screen falls out in 2 weeks.

 • amusing this phone from past 3 months its great!! batter is much more better when compare with moto g3 , Lenovo sysley, nexus 5 xiomy mi4i , 1+1 , moto x my colleagues having the pones I m comparing with them it is lighting fast no lags no never hangs whatsoever still I m using 4.4.4 kitkat just want to know is anyone has upgraded to 5.1.1 if yes plz share your feedback

 • I've been using the Z3 Compact for about 3 months now, after strongly considering the iPhone 6. I'm very happy with my choice - this is hands-down the best phone on the market, in my opinion. My favourite features are: Excellent battery life, like as in unbelievable for a smart phone. Mine sometimes lasts 4 days on a single charge Excellent software and features Very powerful processor and GPU Android, so no shortage of free apps Excellent touch-screen, great resolution and brightness, and sensitivity to touch Light and thin, sits easily in the pocket Waterproof! Seriously, how cool is that? Excellent camera 20MP and excellent video (even up to 4k) MicroSD card slot for storing and transferring massive video and camera files Radio, for listening to sport while out and about OTG for transferring data quickly to a usb stick Very nice glossy finish (mine is black), it looks cool

 • I washed my z3c everyday. Maybe u got a defective unit.

 • Yes, this size is really comfortable with one hand usage. Is it true that z5c increased to 5"? since it is relative to z5 which will be 5.5"? Hopefully they'll keep the overall dimension even if they maje it 4.7" FHD. Hmm

 • Although i only have z3c, overall z3c is better. But u asked for the camera which i think alpha could be better.

 • There's no 13mp option on manual mode, 20 7,15.5,8, ..

 • I bought this week and I am quite satisfied, much better than my old LG G3, it does not seem to have almost the same hardware.

 • Least durable smartphone I've owned.

 • z3c of course, it will outlast the z2

 • Z3C would perform better then the Alpha, and I haven't had any cracking issues.

 • How can i change the camera rezolution, let's say 20 mega to 13 mega

 • There isn't really much difference between the two, however the z3c has better one handed usability and better battery life and there are slight camera improvements from the z2, while the z2 should have the edge when multitasking due to the larger ram, so you can't really go wrong with either.

 • Is the self cracking screen problem still persistent on the Z3C? How good is the overall performance of the Z3C compared to the Samsung Galaxy Alpha for an average user(calls, social networking, browsing, music, videos & light to moderate gaming occasionally) and most importantly how good is the camera on these devices? Feedback from someone with hands on experience with both the devices much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 • the phone is awesome. good battery life, fast as hell, very handy :D i love it. had a g3 and samsung s6 before. but they are too big for me. the loudspeakers could be better. the camera is ok. the screen could be brighter in direct sunlight, but the colours in lit rooms are awesome !

 • which would be the best phone z2 or z3 compact plannining to buy any one of it. Help me on choosing the right one.

 • Troll alert!!!

 • gguys don't listen about some funny responses. z3 compact is really an awesome phone for users like me. I'm not such a big fan of large phones or phablets. I'm more towards compact phones. and the best thing is this is just a mini version of z3 with same processor and Camera. the pros are amazing build quality. we need a reliable phone. as we are spending nearly 30 thousand for this phone. this phone have shock absorbers on all 4 corners. then it have bumpers around the phone. so it makes it safe if we drop it. then it is water proof. for me the battery never drains. I just charge my phone once in 2 days. then the Camera is an awesome performer. it looks bit grainy in low light area. but I'm bit satisfied with it. then the ppi of 318 is superb. videos look vivid and colourful. almost like watching on a real tv. then the music clarity is too awesome coupled with dual speakers. the speaker quality is excellent. only con is the phone hears slightly. it's just slightly. and manageble. it's not like on s4. the heating problem is easily manageble. so users like me who wants a compact phone, good battery life and can't compromise on hardware can just buy this phone closing your eyes. thank you

 • All of the devices with android lollipop seemed to be affected with this heating issue even the nexus devices. But the heat is tolerable and will not break the glass. Rear camera is excellent night and day while front cam needs ambient light to capture descent image. The battery life is the best out there. It can last a day under extreme usage. It can last 2 days under normal usage. Also at first week the battery is not good but it needed a week of charge-discharge cycle before it can achieve 2-3 days battery life. Also you need to turn off unnecessary apps/features just like google map(location), etc. Just goodle it.

 • My z3c beat the rear camera of the iphone 6 of my friend. In night photography my z3c can still capture descent pictures while her iphone 6 captures washed out images(because of flash). The camera of z3c captures a realistic photo in daylight while iphone 6 camera captures the photo with oversaturation of colors just like samsung which makes the photo seemed to be somewhat animated(unrealistic). In photography what people want is the realistic type of photo but nowadays some prefer oversaturated colors of photo just like you. In front cam, iphone 6 clearly beat my z3c.Also after how many months im using my device and rising it under running water i never had any problem with its waterproofness. Maybe your z3c is fake or its is a defective unit brought online.
