  • worst phone ever, it frezzest up every time u play music the screen is super small

  • its very slow still own it i cant even update the android systam this phone sucks i have a new one now its a sony so much better then the motorola flipout

  • God, I really wished they would make another one like this one, just a little bit updated. The shape is perfect, everybody ask me what it is when they see it and everybody likes how it looks. It has a great keyboard, the touchscreen response is very smooth, and the music experience is awesome, the sound is very clear and very loud, with the provided headphones. It has just 2 major problems:1. the outdated android version who does not allow to download apps on the memory card, and that s*cks, cause the the phone memory is full with just 10 apps. 2. If you don;t hold it right, you can hang up with your face, I don;t know why that keeps happening and it's very annoying. Oh, and flash for the camera would be nice. Anyway, I tryied also a samsung galaxy i9000 and sony xperia ray, and they had a lot of problems, and the sound quality was crap, the lack of keyboard is disturbing, so I keep selling them and returning to this little one :) Please make another one like this Motorola!

  • Had this phone for a few years I've gone through a Sony Ray, Defy and a Samsung Galaxy, but I keep coming back to the Flipout. The specs are outdated but no other phone can match it for compact size and easy fit in the pocket but still able to do what the newer phones can, I'm using the Flipout to write this at the moment, just wish they would bring out an upgraded version of the software and hardware but keep the size the same then I wouldn't bother with any other type of phone.

  • I think this phone is great.I have it for 2 years and is awesome. It fell on concrete and granit floor and is still working and in good shape,so I recommend it:)

  • is it good or not....i saw all the comments and complains....i just like this phone bz of the design...

  • can this download instagram? I am trying to download instagram on this, bit I can't get through..

  • is this set available in pakistan..?? i want this set pin pack .

  • I have a problem about the OS. I have Android 2.1 but there is no Market in my phone :) where can i find it ? there is any solitions that problem ?

  • I think it cn skype buddy I download it on my foun bt nw strange when I want to skype with my frends videocalling doesn't show

  • Hello everyone, As you can see im not an english person so i am sorry for bad writting. Does work for this type a memory card like micro-sdHC? I tried to search that using google search but no succes>

  • Hi , ihave had this phone it was working fine until one day my my charger was lost .. so i searched the internet on how to charge your phone with any charger and i think that stuffed up the phone? now everytime i charge my phone(with a normal charger now) i plug it in and then it comes up with the battery and a question mark on it . you cant access anything just the question mark comesup, and when itake it off charge it doesnt turn on, how can i fix this??

  • Can you put music onto it?

  • It don't support Skype talk.

  • You cannot skype even if you call you could hear whats going on on the other end but they can't hear you

  • can you skype?

  • Very handy size. Full QWERTY keyboard. Excellent internet access. Easy to add Apps. Camera not phenomenal, but pretty good. Love my little phone, its fantastic x

  • Very handy size. Full QWERTY keyboard. Excellent internet access. Easy to add Apps. Camera not phenomenal, but pretty good. Love my little phone, its fantastic x

  • this phone is great really

  • My first smartphone, served me pretty well for two years. I loved the physical keyboard, it was nice and compact, very easy to use (unless it was charging--the location of the USB port made the cable get in the way). The small size and resolution of the screen was the main drawback, it made using apps a pain because so little could be displayed at once. But the size of the phone altogether made it really nice to carry around. This thing was ALWAYS getting comments, too. It never had fantastic battery life, which was unfortunate, and ended up getting very sluggish with age, but I really loved the thing. It was plenty functional, but honestly it was more a cute novelty of a smartphone.

  • camera is worst, battery drains fast, continues usage heats up the phone but still it is cute and handy.

  • i have just purchased it, but i need to unlock it so that i can use it in my country (NIGERIA). how do i unlock it?

  • The major problem with this phone is that it has a touch screen and a hard/physical keypad.

  • i find the battery runs down fast ,i dont even use up the phone that much but i love the phone

  • By default the phone is syncronizing the contacts and calendar with your google account...

  • What is the major problem in this phone?

  • Anyone knows how to synchronize a calendar in filipout?

  • do these phones have free google?

  • Yes, although the screen is a bit small. Go to a text entry area while the phone is closed, and you can type using the touch screen keyboard.

  • you got to activate the unit through i-tunes before been able to send music files to other blue-tooth devices. read the manual it says it all.

  • Can someone tell me how i can send a music file 2 another phone via bluetooth? Or how can I save a song downloaded from the internet coz if it finishes downloading it plays and no option of saving the file.

  • Can we type sms by its touch screen???... or only through its keypad???

  • Actually, you can do this. If you don't know how, it doesn't mean that it doesn't work :).

  • If battery is being drained by Motoblur, as others have indicated, simply don't activate Motoblur when you first turn it on. After all, Motoblur is just a "blur" according to CNET and others.

  • cause it sucks

  • I wonder why my motoblur flipout doesn't play video in youtube. What seems to be the problem? I hope somebody could give me answers. thank u.

  • Can you download games for this from the internet??

  • I've been using this phone 1 year ago. I loved it. Internet is very fast, user friendly, no problems like other phones (freezing or call dropped..). The only bad thing about it is that I cnt move apks to the sd card and the memory is low. But as this phone is very cool.. u have to buy it i like it a lot and i just have to fix the cover to look new..

  • This phone is amazing everything is great about it so if u want a BRILLIANT phone get this one u will not be dissapointed GUARENTUED

  • Hi, Every thing is good but the battery worst . The battery is stays only 5 hrs if you don't browse the phone if you browse the phone the battery stays only 1 hr . Think before you buy.

  • Can it rotate 360 Degrees? does it let u put live walpapers on it? Android v 2.2.2 does not sadly.

  • yes

  • Does this phone work with T-Mobile?

  • Does this phone has a backup file (save most important and favourite messages for future use)

  • does viber work on it

  • pls any1 tel hw is its voice ans audio is ringtone sound is low or wat??? i m gonna get this sum pls tek me

  • dont buy this HS coz after some tome if u close flip so ur fone also switch off this is the major problem in this fone.

  • the battery backup problem is due to the motoblur cos itz always running in the background. All you have to do is follow this link

  • This is a great phone and i love it, apart from the battery. The battery is really bad, it doesn't even last a full day, only just about 5 hours and then it needs charging, so if you dont mind this feature then go fot it.

  • Yes,the battery is a piece of sh**t.I find myself charging this battery at least 2-3 times per day.Get this-I'm not a heavy talker, just like to browse ocassionally.Battery life is pitiful and don't get me started with the f**ked up touch screen. The screen persistently freezes up,whereas the device is barely functional. You would need lots of patience to deal with the Flipout. It's only a nice piece of eye candy with nice camera, though.Good luck!!

  • Battery is just about average for an Android phone. I have been owning this phone for about 2 years and its one of the most irritating and worst phones I have ever used. Android uses up the battery by about 40%. Buy some other phone like HTC One V or Sony Xperia U.

  • I wanna buy this phone, i have some questions for those who have it, please only answer if u had it: is the battery so awful? Does apndroid fixes the problem? Is the old version of os effecting so much? Does it freeze alot and stop working? Is the resolution good? Am i able to send/recieve files by bluetooth?

  • can motorola MB511 flipout be used from africa to usa ?

  • Hello users, a quick question, i just bought this phone and I think the images are quite pixelated they almost seem blurry. Is that normal ? please reply as I need to decide whether to return it or not. Thanks.

  • Can I update Android to higher version, coz i've heard this possibility is blocked ((

  • the home button is defaultly set to to activate voice commands. So when u accidently touch it twice it opens it. So to disable it got to settings > applications > Double tap home launch. Then select whatever you want to. If you select camera. whenever u double click the home screen camera will open. All the best.

  • does anyone know why when im trying to use the navigation it always appears msg "Google maps navigation is not yet avaiable in this location" and i have option only for directions instead of voice navigator?i have already upgraded the version of google maps to the latest avaiable on Android market

  • As for me. I love using the flipout. it just depends on how you use it and how you use the apps to make the batt last longer. Its better to shut to 3g off with APN Swith app. Use the task killer to to save some more juice.

  • yes, it's available in kuwait. you can find it in carrefour.i think it's around 50KD or less.

  • Av not gotten 3G network since i started using it. Am so pissed with dis phone.

  • Can I Have the phones user manual in english please

  • this phone is no good..too small, too painful...

  • can I buy this mobile?????

  • I have been having the phone for nearly 2 years and I must say that this phone is style over substance. The performance of this phone was fine for the better part of the first 6 months. Then the problems and glitches started making its presence. Cons: * Freezes frequently. * Crashes and restarts often * Poor signal reception * Dropped calls * Occasional touchscreen glitch * Average battery life * No update to existing 2.1 by Motorola to fix the glitches * Overheating after long duration calls or running apps * Slow clock speed of only 600 Mhz * Poor camera and video quality * Overpriced Cons: * Good build quality * Standout design * Tactile keyboard * UI is good for the most part * Portability

  • Yeah that is very TRUE

  • Okay, I have had this phone for a year now. Believe me, you will get annoyed of it very easily if you don't have some plans to work with it. This phone is laggy, slow, irritating and frustrating. I just now find out that the battery is totally burned out and I can't deal with it anymore. It doesn't have enough memory on it to let you deal with apps. Overall, the phone has been a pain in the ass. No matter how cute and nice it is. I can't even find a case for it!

  • Do not buy this phone! I was pleased with this phone until about three months after purchase when it began overheating, not loading texts, frequently crashing, freezing and not bring able to answer calls. There is a reason this phone fell steeply in price, don't be fooled by specs apps are incredibley laggy. Please take this advice and do not buy this phone.

  • is it upgradeable to android 2.2 froyo??

  • I've been wanting this one for a long time and i'm finaly buying it :-)

  • is it sold in kuwait???

  • are android in romana

  • Can I use KakaoTalk ,NimBuzz,Ebuddy xms in this phone ?

  • i can get it for you im from morocco i get one rom France and i want to buy it :)

  • I'm using it right now. It has market and so much more great apps. It's compatible you can put it wherever you want, because of it's size. Network connection is fast and I like how the pictures are orginized in folders and by date :))

  • was thinging about buying this phone does it have the andriod app market on it ....

  • use android task killer too many apps running in the backround :)

  • This phone is a piece of junk. I have had it for several months. Lately it just crashes every 15 min, loses WiFi connection every 3 min and runs extremelt hot. The music player is worthless as it uses up all your data and is slower than molasses. Half of the android apps on the market do not work properly with this phone. Do not get fooled by other reviews, this phone is worthless, return it ASAP if you can for a differant model.

  • Love this phone so much. Its so durable and stylish but the battery life isnt too good. Overall its a great unique phone

  • is this mobile is still avaible in saudia arabia or uae please help!

  • ..the battery lowbats so fast... but its beautiful and amazing.. its features...

  • love the phone so much, the only problem is the battery.gggrrr!!! i have to charge 2-3 times a day...:(

  • i ve just bought my moto flipout but have abig probleme it doesnt read arabic the arabic texts appear libe boxes . can i fix this probleme ?

  • hey guys shall i buy this phone or not?

  • Worst battery ever! Lasts a few hours only using the internet and making some calls. The phone is good but the battery is awful, I'm looking for another phone now because of this battery problem.

  • I got my Flipout over 5 months ago and after 2 months it continually freezes randomly and sometimes the phone will start opening programs when I never touch them.. the freezing this stops me being able to answer calls, while i'm texting it presses other letters that i haven't pressed (the same if i'm dialing number it presses numbers randomly and may open the call), when i'm getting unlock the home screen it playing up then it won't let me unlock the phone, Somtimes i can't find contacts that i saved before (some contacts vanishes), Sometimes it will turn off randomly. When i went to Motorola authorized agent.. they trying to change, update the software version but it comes without avail, therefore they changed the phone by a new one .. but the same happens to it too !! Can anyone help me to solve that bundle of problems ??

  • How do you get the new android market ? My android market suckss !

  • i was going trough d phone an accidentally touched something and an annoying voice calls out everything i do and now i dont no how 2 take it off someone please help

  • you can still get this phone from bid or buy brand new...i have ordered it and should get it tomorrow.

  • i bought this phone last august 2011 in kuwait but unfortunately after 2 months it fell in the rain water. after that the touch screen is not working at all., i got a difficulties to find touch screen here in the philippines becuse when i brought it in the shop to repair they told me that i need to change the touch screen. now, i cannot used it though it has a keypad because still i need to tap the back key in touch screen. maybe u can help me where can i find the touch screen of this phone? or maybe you know some applications how to use the keypad correctly.? tnx

  • go to : wireless & networks > mobile networks > select network > and select 2g or 3g. do not select automatic default because it will eat your baterry. disable background data in settings > data manager > data delivery > and disable backround data. my flipout came with facebook instaled and i had to put the software for usa with motoblur. my battery only on 3g network with backround data activated runs 20-24 houres, without backround data on 24-48 houres and with 2g activated and no internet 4-5 days. if you will use wifi the baterry will go dead in a few houres.

  • great looking phone that is easy to us but it locks up when taking or making a call. Screen freezes for anything up to a minute! Dials up the mobile internet at random which is seriously expensive so is disabled by dialing *#*#4636#*#* then pressing more and disable the data conection, however this is only temp as it soon overides this and you have to do it again, many times daily! Just downloaded the free APN app and hoping this works and also modded the mmc numbers as suggested. A fab looking phone thats great to text with but looks are thorougly useless when it doesn't work properly. I rely on my phone for my business and have missed just too many calls now, I nearly put a brick through the screen. Glad it was only £50 from Orange, going back to my Sony Ericsson p990i

  • Skype donot work in this mobile.....you can install and send messages...but to voice calls the microphone dosnet work.

  • hi, apparently not as sofetware as been put on the new handset's. i am getting one tomorrow as i have had a few problems with freezing etc. hope this helps you

  • Hi Kirsty, I love my flipout, just read your review and i had the same problem of not being able to answer calls, couldn't stop the ringing or even turn the phone off all together. Just had to ring the person back. Have taken some apps off, as you said that was the course, so going to give that a try, this is my third phone since feb all having the same problem. Trish

  • The android system connects to the internet automatically everyday looking for updates etc. The 100mb internet allowance from orange gets used up very quickly. And then you have to pay. You can always disable the internet. Connection in the settings.

  • i bought my phone about a month or so ago. i put on £20 when i first got the phone because i had to if i wanted the phone, but something has taken £15 off of my credit. im on the dolphin package from orange and get free texts, the only thing i have done on this phone is use the free texts. the review on orange site says that i have the charges from the internet, this isnt possible as i dont use the internet on my phone. anybody got any ideas on what could be eating my credit???? • can we update android version 2.1 of this phone to other version available as 2.2 or 2.3 please reply soon

  • Bought this phone on ebay at the end of May for 175US (includes the shipping to Barbados). I had done a lot of research on the phone since I'm not a person who changes phones often and I didn't want to be stuck with crap. So, from that, I knew the battery life wasn't going to be the best, but which smartphone has a good battery life anyway. I knew the specs, saw the pics and thought I knew what I was in for. I didn't. This phone is FREAKING AMAZING. No no, that's not an understatement. It does everything I could possibly desire. the interface rocks, the 2.1 (eclair) is compatible with alll the apps I want. It's fast, robust, stylish, unique and mine mine mine. I look at all my BB obsessed friends and family and laugh at their phones. The phone is so awesome my sis is getting it to replace her BB which she was addicted to. My bf has an iphone and even he can admit (rather grudgingly) that its awesome. It never lets me down. However if you're a serious gamer, this phone is not for you unless you intend on rooting the phone and installing the apps on your sd card 'cause there's only 128MB of storage for installing apps and the games would exhaust that in no time, right now I have 31 apps on and still room for more. So all in all, awesome phone, just buy it if you're considering, its the best option in terms of price and quality.

  • Hi.. I faced the same problem but luckily found the solution too.. Simply go to Wireless and Networks> Mobile Networks> Access Point Names> now here change the default numbers set for MMC and MNC - this change would not let you to connect to 3G/ Edge and would only let you use your WiFi. Enjoy.

  • i'm thinking about gettin this phone; is the battery that bad? can you use msn on it?

  • Help please! Is this phone support Chinese traditional languages?

  • I'm looking at buying this phone but i've heard it has less than a 24 hour battery life. Is there a way to modify this such as a better battery that fits the phone?

  • how we can send songs by bluetooth?no option to send a song by bluetooth

  • I have had this phone for just over a week and after the initial charge it hasn't held a charge for more than 5 hours without being used if I access the internet etc I would be lucky to last an hour I may just have a faulty battery. I was under the impressinon it had a good battery life other than the battery life I really like the phone

  • I have had this phone for a couple of days now on orange (£70 w/ a £20 required top-up) and its quite good! It has a load of features like GPS, WiFi, Android 2.1, a Capacitive touchscreen AND a full qwerty keyboard. Mine came 70% charged and it only took about 20 to 30 minutes on its first charge (although the Manuel stated 3 hours); great if you in a rush to get it charged and pop out. Normal battery usage, hmmm. start it up at 8:00am and it will manage you until about 8:00pm a day. however, if your like me, the first few days you get something new, you want to be playing with it all day! and with non stop heavy usage i got around 4-5 hours with it (with WiFi and the likes on) The Screen is a tad small at 2.8" (7.1cm), and the resolution is only 320x240 but that's the same as the Sony Erricson Xperia mini, and the resolution only really makes a difference in the browser on a non mobile site. If your getting one on Pay as you Go i would highly recommend an app called APNdroid. it makes it so you can turn off or on cellular data as you wish, meaning at the touch of a button, you can make it so you wont rake in additional data charges as normally you get 250mb for a month, after that month, lock the cellular data until you get an 'extra' for data, for a month. Overall, it has a well built feel, with metal band around the screen and a good, solid "flipout" for the screen. However, the back/battery cover does feel a little cheap (and the phone IS cheap at only £50!) Another factor you need to take into account before you buy is the OS. Motorola have announced that they will NEVER release Android 2.2 Froyo onto the device, but as always with android, I'm sure that there is a ROM out there that will allow you to do so. The OS pre-installed on the device is very slick and smooth but can take some time getting used to (such as the menu layouts) Overviews: General Critisisms: -Slightly dissapointing Video Recording when played back on a computer or TV -Smaller screen than most android smartphones -Needs charging every night -Lack of camera Flash Positive Points: -Thousands of Apps -Fast and Responsive OS -Loads of Sensors -Capacitive, High Quality Touch screen -Easy to use QWERTY Keyboard -Unique Swivel design -Easy to obtain new colours of battery covers -Great inbuilt software -Bright screen Final Verdict: Its a very good phone, Lots of features, and its very cheap at only £70 on Orange.

  • Best features for cheap cost... Flip out Dhs:780 3G + WiFi + GPS

  • not surprised if you drop it! easy answer is do not drop the phone and i am sure it will work fine

  • Why are people saying that this is a bad phone? In my experience with it, its quite the opposite! The Keyboard is quick and responsive, It has never dropped a call and the features are outstanding! (WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS) all in one low cost package! And also, Even though its "Low Cost" doesn't mean its got a shabby build quality, in fact, it has one of the best I've seen on ANY cheap smartphone for a long time. Yes, The screen is a tad small but it only looks small because its a square design, and personally, i have had no problems with the reduced resolution at all. The Keyboard can take a few weeks to get used to, but after that you will be typing on it just like a blackberry.

  • Got this phone for christmas and i must say its nothing like i expected!!! The Battery life is terrible lucky to get 5 hrs!!! The phone also always crashes and when dropped makes unbelievably big scratches and dents... certainly would not recommend this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was having this problem too . You have to download from market APNdroid and that is all :)

  • airtel works well

  • Hi just read all the reviews, I got my phone via Orange and have had nothing but problems; now onto my 5th phone. Probs I have had - phone constantly freezes and gets worse the more apps you download. Because of the freezing this stops you being able to answer the phone. Issues with the touch screen and seems to have a mind of its own; especially when it is charging; while you are texting it presses other letters that you haven't pressed. if you have a security lock on the home screen and th touch screen it playing up then it won't let you unlock your phone. Loved the look of this phone and was really looking forward to using this but handset seems unable to handle the operating system in my experience which is a shame as I like the phone if it would actually do what is says it would

  • i saw quite a few posts asking about how they can move applications on phone memory to SD Card. Well, if you are still using Android 2.1, its time that you moved on to 2.2 and i think the phone allows you to do that very easily. Android 2.2 has the option to move the application to SD card instead of the phone memory. The option is available under Settings > Applications > Application Name. but again it is available in Android 2.2 and above. Hope this helps Thanks

  • Hello, I have recently bought this phone and I live in Albania. When I start up Maps It says "connecting..." but actually never opens. Is It a device problem or is Albania just out of GPS reach ???

  • Hello, I have recently bought this phone and I live in Albania. The GPS always says "connecting..." but actually never connects. Is this a device problem or is Albania just out of reach ????

  • There's a very good reason for there being no file manager. It's because if it did have one, users would simply need something 'more' after 2 minutes. The idea of the Android system is, you get a basic Android core system, then you add all that you need on top. All Android phones have free access to the Market, to search & install just what they need. As long as users try things out and do report back with at least a star-rating, others will quickly find the best of what they need. Android utilities are a kind of open-source idea, which allows the system to go far beyond what the manufacturers could ever take the time to do.

  • dude im facing the same problem battery drainage, cud not able to fix it , pls find some solution , im also looking for it , if u got one , post me

  • thnx

  • I wasn't sure about this phone. It's an unusual design, small, and maybe with a keypad that's too small to use. But as a positive review, I am stunned by how much fun it is, and it's features cover all I need. First, the points I dont like: Screen orientation - it has a mind of its own, and can turn things round when they wouldn't on a standard sized screen. Cursor D-pad should have been just 'slightly' bigger/squarer, its a tiny bit too small. And i'd rather the keypad slid down instead of spinning out. That said, it's easily usable once you get used to it, one handed is easy now. Oh, and having to open the phone to answer calls seems an odd thing (unless using handsfree things). The rest of the phone, well, it does all that I wanted. Runs 99% of the Android 2.1 software, it's very fast (never gets sluggish for me, even with only 10Mb free memory left!). The touch screen works perfectly, sound is loud and clear. Calls are fine, never get dropped (on O2 & GIFFGAFF UK), Internet is wonderfully fast thru Wifi or GPRS/HSDPA (use Dolphin Browser!). The cam was expected to be rubbish, 3.1 with fixed focus & no flash or features, but again, it suprised me. Photos are sharp, bright, and high quality, video is good enough too. I use LITTLE PHOTO from Android Market, and it allows all photos to be enhanced in sooo many ways you can waste ages playing with it. Night fotos are as you'd expect, but on a sunny day, you will happily be able to print what you capture. Blurry fotos can happen, but as a photographer, I know that will happen with a £400 cam-phone - just keep still and maybe stand the phone on a surface to get nice clear ones. The keypad is very small, so try before you buy. For me, it's perfect (i have standard sized hands). Great tactile feel, instead of the type used on the Motorola backflip and Nokia N97 (horrible). All buttons are there, plus 8-way direction which works great in games. A sliding keypad would have been better like on an earlier motorola of the same appearance, but this one is fine once you get used to it. The screen isn't HD, or even millions of colours, but it still gives a sharp easy to read picture. Display is fast (turn off Androids useless fade in/out display feature!), and all games tried worked fine, even 3D complicated ones. Battery life is as good as anything else, remembering these are mini computers now, not just a cell phone. I charge about every 1.5 days, depending on use, but I do use it a 'lot', with calls, camera, 30-50 txts a day, games & Internet over GPRS. Battery savers don't really do much to help. but batteries are just what they are. The phone is very light, feels solid even with keypad out, and all the volume & on/off/unlock buttons are all easily pressed. The phone can be controlled purely by voice if required (80% accurate i'd guess), and even txts can be read to you, or typed as you speak them. GPS works perfectly, and with google-maps keeps you knowing just where you are. In all, i give this a good 8 out of 10. It's an odd design, and definatly not for everybody's taste, but for me - if i dropped it & broke it, i'd instantly buy another without hesitation. I've had about 20 phones since my old N-Gage, and this is the only one i've really enjoyed using so far.

  • It's a bit complicated to have Android 2.1 install to a memory card instead of the phones built in memory. There are guides on the Internet, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a direct way of doing it - so you can use SD card memory to store files and photos, but any APK files you install will always go to the phone memory and fill it up. It's a bad mistake in Android 2.1 :( Google search for "install apk files to SD", good luck.

  • u need to root the android 1st (but it will void the warranty..ur choice) :)

  • i love this phone! i get alot of complements on it and its powerful. i would recommend it to everyone!

  • how can i transfer applications from phone storage to memory card storage ?????

  • Yes

  • how can i transfer the app. from phone storage into sd memory card storage ?????

  • is Motorola FlipOut screen really touch or like nokia 5800 screen fake touch ?

  • very good phone!

  • Love my motorola flipout!! It is so cute and small, but at the same time powerful and never slows down..great for texting also!

  • @ yan xiao yan : i forgot to tell you that the ebay seller i bought my flipout from offers free shipping through UPS. the tax imposed on the phone was so reasonable it suprised me. you can call UPS first if you want to get an idea of the amount you'll be charged.

  • @yan xiao yan : bought mine from a reliable eBay Hong Kong seller. Their business is an online cellphone store and they already have 12000++ positive feedback. Got my flipout the day after I paid for it.

  • I bought this phone from Orange UK for £99

  • There are many available from the Android Market. I use ES File Explorer and ES Task Manager

  • Very poor battery performance. I got 10 hours of purely 2G standby. Maybe not battery issue, the phone feels warm, might be the software issue.

  • i've ordered one from at&t, i hope its good

  • hi! can anyone tell me where can i buy this phone at a good price and ships it to philippines? thanks!

  • I've had one of this model for a week, took a while to find an unlock code for it, but it's done now :) The phone works fine :D Very nice quality, the keypad is excellent for me, i hate most keypads but need them for gaming & txting, types very fast with no lag, I use HANDCENT-SMS from the Android market instead of the built-in txt program. The camera is very good quality in the right light, despite being a fixed focus type. As long as its steady, and the subject is lit normally, you will get vibrant colour & enough detail for most use. It's a 3.15 cam, with no flash/focus. Note that it takes a bigger photo if the keypad is Open, otherwise you get a kind of smaller portrait/landscape picture instead. As usual, there are much better utilities for photos on the Market downloads for free :) Try LittlePhoto & Photo.Lab for some excellent fun. Battery life ? well these are all mini computers now, so you WILL be charging up daily if your using it for lots of things. just accept that phone batteries are a bonus feature now, and no matter what a phone costs, its battery is made to go flat in use (or not). The screen is lower quality than it should be :( that's a disappointment for some things, such as weird software like ZED EX (a ZX81 emulator I use). Text can be a bit blurry in some apps/games, but 95% of things are fine, you wont even notice. Apparently the screen is only 256k colours, less than the higher quality/resolution other phones around, but considering its size and functions, Im not complaining, it's doing just fine for me. Touch screen is highly responsive, bright & clear. You can make apps respond faster by turning off the ANIMATION option in display settings. It may look neat at first, but speed for menus is what most users seem to prefer, I know I do. Wifi is Very fast, and easy to activate on/off, and the phone has had no problem connecting to several routers near me. The DOLPHIN browser seems better than the built-in one, and that's free too. Plus there is Dolphin ad-ons for everything you could need. Audio on the Flipout phone is loud and clear, and external noise cancelation is excellent. It's a weird thing that you 'must' open the handset keypad to take/make phone calls, but i guess the mouthpiece on such a small phone - they had no choice :) All in all, i recommend this model of phone, and so far, give it a good 7 out of 10. Would have been 8 or 9 with a better camera, and slide-down keypad instead - the flipout idea is novel, but a bit fiddly with one hand. A recommended model of phone, I like this one :)

  • Use the Android Market application built in to the phone, and if you search for SKYPE, it should appear at the top of the list - there's only 1 version of Android skype so far. As for MSN, theres several there you could try, I use EBUDDY, which you dont need to download, you can just use a browser to go to www.ebuddy.com hope that helps a bit.

  • Where can I download Skype and MSN? Thanks

  • "This phone does not seem to come with a file manager or task manager by default, so you need to download one otherwise you'll always have data/battery draining process occurring in the background. The camera is okay at best." Where can I download file manager or tast manager for motorola flipout.? thanks

  • wanna buy dis phone but heard dat its battery is poor can anyone tell me how to improve dat? plz help me

  • Android Mrkt. logo is available in main menu of u're handset,if it's unavailable try with FDR,if still problem persist's go for a software update.

  • Definately u can send song's via bluetooth, but u need to download a application named as Bluetooth File Transfer from Android mrkt. and u can easily use it to send u're data.

  • Go and grab 4 motorola as Motorola handset's are gr88 even...

  • U can do tethring via application from Android market i.e., 3G hotspot. Go 4 it,,,,

  • I'm a nokia user, but i like this motorola sooo much...anyone can help me to make a decision between nokia and motorola?!? :(

  • i like this phone..

  • hey where did u ppl get it 4m?? i asked in some places dey say its not yet launched n wont get it :(..m really interested in dis fone

  • its a really cool set to carry on for both style and service factor

  • I bought another battery from eBay and got a external usb battery for him :P

  • Hi there I'm thinking to get the motorola flipout I just want to know can you send songs from the phone to another phone? I know there is some of the motorola's that can not send songs.

  • Your right poor battery life.... any help to improve this? but overall the best phone i ever had.

  • If this phone a good battery life and at least 3.2 m pixel with autofocus and 30fps plus BLack Barry service motrola by this phone will kill BB so easy cuz it's nice wonderful phone eventhough I'm iPhone user.

  • Battery is moderate, but you get for what you pay. Signal is good, at least better than my iPhone. I think coverage is depends on your service provider, hard to argue. So far love it so much, cool flipout design, although sometimes lag a little.. only a little. Overall i think this is better than my iphone.. except for browsing and watching video. Whatsapps, skype, msn, twitter, facebook, motoblur... all works perfect. Muak!

  • i want to buy this phone can some one give correct advice

  • Battery standby is poor

  • Hi All , can anyone help me with the following : how can i get the Android market icon on this phone do not have a direct access to the market , thanks and appreciate your help.

  • very nice phone to use, looks great, but one thing which annoyed me was,not being able to record sound and to use that sound as a ringtone???? all other phones have had this feature so why not this one???? real shame for such a kewl phone..

  • Had this phone for a couple of days now and Im very pleased with it. Bought it from Orange UK for low price of £99. And I think its great for that price! It zips through menus and most applications with ease, and even runs angry birds great(unlike my last phone- Orange SanFrancisco/ZTE Blade)One feature that surprised me was the support of flash videos, something which most(if not all) cheap android devices lack. This phone also comes with 5 changeable back covers(Black, Blue, Orange, Purple and Red). The only bad things about this phone is its battery. With low-moderate it just about gets through a day. Also, the screen is a low 320x240 pixel resultion. But the screen is capacitive and quite responsive. This phone does not seem to come with a file manager or task manager by default, so you need to download one otherwise you'll always have data/battery draining process occurring in the background. The camera is okay at best. Barcode scanner apps dont seem to work well or at all. WiFi works well, especially with this phone supporting wireless N. This phone has just recieved a software update for Orange UK, so it should be working even better than before. Overall, I would say this phone is great for the price and would recommend it to anyone thinking of getting it.

  • The keyboard on Flipout is similar to that of Q9, being one of the best in terms of ergonomics. Plus you'll get MUCH BETTER voice quality on Flipout over X10 mini, unless you don't want the other party to clearly listen what you say... If so, no need to bother to get e phone.

  • Well why dont you read the opinions then?

  • Hey I'm contemplating to buy either Motorola FlipOut or SE X10 Mini Pro.. Just wondering, is the SMS/messaging in threaded view like the X10 mini pro? Plus, how's the messaging like using the qwerty keyboard? Is the spaces and distance btwn the letters easy to reach and press? I'd appreciate a little help here. Thanks!

  • Its Very good phone

  • realy very nice great for young boys and girls

  • hi, when i 1st got my flipout, it used to go to this green screen when it went to screen saver and i i could either slide my finger up to exit screensaver or down to put my phone on silent, i since lost this feature and don't know how to reactivate it after some people who fell in love with the phone started playing with it : ) please help if u can, anybody ? thanx! and please mail me at [email protected] coz am not in the states...

  • Can any1 pls tell me the average price of this phone in Europe (Belgium or France region)? It's been a little hard to find online, I'm going to travel there and want to buy it, do they sell it unlocked there? thanks!

  • Hi Nicole, go to this site, i just bought one.http://ur-1st-stop.blogspot.com/search/label/Motorola

  • I had the x10 mini pro the keyboard at the bottom broke after 5 days of me getting it what a waste of time and i have also had problems with it crashing all the time the replaced the phone with the same model and the same thing happend i then asked them to replace with this motorola filpout i have had no problems with and its a fantastic phone i love it the apps are more or less free unlike the iphone and its fast i cant give it any more praise really

  • I'm really sorry for saying this but you can't unfortunately. You may be lucky if you have some free mbs and you spent only these, if not you should start gathering money... :-( Good luck

  • Several ways: - go to setting - mobile networks - access point name - change some of the setting there (like put 00), so the phone CANNOT be connected for data - cut all dataplan usage from your network service provider though one probably would miss out quite a bit to use a smartphone without getting any app...

  • HELP, friend got a flipout without dataplan, and no wifi available for the next few days. But started downloading a bunch of apps from market. But now we cant figure out how to cancel the downloads because theyre very expensive. Cant find an option for it and so cant afford to have the phone in online mode. Please help guys.

  • sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro.

  • no. the smallest android is sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro. it's cheaper too.

  • If I were you, I would narrow down the choices by: Motorola Flipout, Nokia E5,HTC Wildfire (but I already have an HTC Tattoo, which is really similar), Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro, Nokia C5, LG Optimus 1. Phone with good (voice) quality - SE & LG are out 2. Symbian is out, so are C5 and E5. 3. Keyboard, if yes, then Flipout. Though my wife mostly uses her Flipout without the keyboard...

  • nice design it must get better secreen resoulution with autofoucus cam to be a wonderfull android runner

  • hai

  • Part of the reason why this phone costs Euro 250 (in HK) is the phone runs on Android. Can you rind me any other Android phone with voice and build quality as good as Motorola for less? If so, let me know. Most makers don't even bother to make Android phones with qwerty keyboard, and the only brand which offers a model about the size of Flipout is not really a phone.

  • really good phone i like it ........because only one smallest phone in android

  • Well i think he is too expensive for that specifications... 3.15 mpx camera is too old from now... Touchscreen isn't anything new, QWERTY keyboard also... Smart phones are also nothing new... So actually I don't know why smart phone like MOTOROLA FlipOut cost 300, it should cost 200 and less...

  • I hope they bring out a version with a better camera.

  • it looks like you have to open google account

  • Right, no, this phone doesn't have the best camera. So how about you buy this phone then get a cheap £50 12 megapixel camera? (http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/kodak-easyshare-c143-compact-digital-camera-07671841-pdt.html)

  • If that's the case, suggest you go for XT720 instead, as my wife already carries iphone "and" Flipout...hence she wants something really small as her 2nd phone. The main selling point for Flipout is its design more than anything else. If you have higher expectation on hard specs, suggest you look for others like XT720. This phone is more like a toy....

  • did anybody accessed diary or organizer without connecting to internet?? I am trying for 2 days without success

  • did anybody accessed diary or organizer without connecting to internet?? I am trying for 2 days without success

  • did anyone manage to access the calendar and organizer being offline?

  • @ 100 Moto I dont think anyone who has used a VE66 before will at all like the cam on this one but if she isnt using it much then that's different. for me though a decent cam on my phone ( like say the one on the VE66 , if not like the one on the Milestone XT 720 ), makes me feel prepared :P dont tell me the screen resolution/quality is *that* bad that its totally not worth buying the flipout, or is it ??i really wont mind paying a bit more for this unit with a better cam/ screen res. sigh. they should allow choosing a custom configuration for the phone u want like for netbooks/all-in-ones :) since u already own the unit can u please tell me about : touchscreen response the battery performance cam performance er indoors maybe :) internet access/browsing experience or any other glitches u experience with the unit ?? if this device's only USP is the flipout form factor/ qwerty n that it suports eclair i will rather get the milestone XT 720, yeah its candybar but with better specs n anyways either this or the milestone wont be getting updated to froyo or so far that's the news . BIG SIGH :( :( sorry.long post :(

  • Yes, we all wish Moto would make this or any other phone "perfect". My wife was using the 5mp cam VE66 before this, and she did ask me what's the mp on this cam. My answer to her was she'd better use a DC. What bothers me more is the display resolution....as I'm sure my wife doesn't take photo with phone eveyrday, but she certainly looks at the display (and play Angry Bird!) very often. I just think of this this way, I got my Flipout for about US$320. If the resolution is better, that may add US$100~150 to the pricetag. With a better cam, it may cost some US$100~$150 more...

  • @100 Moto no i am not saying that that cell phones should have a cam comparable to a digicam or a dslr :D. that's asking for too much coz this is primarily meant to be a phone after all. all i'm saying since this is just a fantastic piece of technology why shouldnt it have *balanced* features all the same ?? look at the Milestone series , i mean just impeccable, at least i have nothing to complain about , very well equipped n well balanced . n look at the flipout , it could have been a milestone in itself :D if only the cam specs could match the other awesome features it has , i'm not askin asking for a 12 mp cam with xenon flash n blah blah , just autofocus n LED flash will do great, it makes the phone complete u know :). it's just not fair. i could buy a milestone but it just wont be the same :( but since i'm not custom manufacturing it, i will have to be happy with what's available in the market

  • I always recommend those who need a good cam on a phone to buy a real DC....as no cam on any phone can match with the quality of DC.

  • ok n can someone please tell me for sure ( someone with hands on experience that is) whether there really IS a problem with battery backup or is it just a random issue with certain people?? what's the normal battery performance like??

  • this could have been a great phone , i mean Moto comes up with grand n unique designs, but the camera is really disappoiting :( . only 3.15 mp n no autofocus no flash SIGH. n that's the only reason i'm having second thoughts about buying this

  • Guys, any idea if this handset will be available in the Philippines? I'm into these kinds of phones. It's soooo cute. I want one.

  • how is gps working ?? On this gadget?

  • anyone plz tell ... Hows battery running exactly? On wife and edge ?? Hows music quality ? Hows handset sound quality ? How many hours can we use for heavy internet ?

  • Design 10/10 Needs a software mega boost to get it working properly i find video and camera ok for what it is..

  • Flipout is Awesome, But the battery life sucks. Im struggling with internet settings from my network operator. But the features are fantastic. U go MOTO

  • Avoid this set I am on my 3rd from Orange UK already, main issues experienced is freezing, switching off, battery life is complete rubbish even with minimal use and settings turned down. Camera is dire, Apart from this the build quality is nice.

  • For those who own one, anyone tried using the barcode scanner? Or else, can anyone download apps like Photostitch or FX camera?

  • how do you send anything via bluetooth?

  • how do you transfer music and pictures e.t.c via bluetooth????

  • yeah, seems to be pretty bad so far, gonna let it charge overnight to see if that helps.

  • Just bought it a few days ago and keeps on freezing every 5 minutes!

  • hi i jsut got this handset is anyone else having issues with battery life?

  • This is mind blowing launche in SA today, it is super dupa cool

  • Very impressed by the design. Touch screen is also very intuitive.

  • Hi Flipout users, I'm thinking of buying this phone next month, I love the design and the way it has both multitouch and full qwerty keyboard. Is there any weaknesses so far? Even the small tech glitches or something? How about the battery life with normal usage? (without non stop internet). Really appreciate each of your feedback, thanks!

  • Costs around US$330 in Hong Kong (likely be available this weekend), no contract and unlocked.

  • thx gsmarena team for review this nice phone

  • little higher price i think, but its design is unrepeatable,i like motorola's shiny design not too specifications

  • Its a start tho..

  • Moto started to make Android flip phone already...the XT806/XT810 in China, except both are designed for "both" GSM and the 3G network (TD-SCDMA & CDMA) network in China, hence the pricetag is rather hefty...around US$865!

  • heard about this on fones show chat,i think its a great little device but mainly something different,,good old moto but please get back to clamshells ie android rzr clamshelll,,yesyes

  • Any idea where to buy the coloured back covers?

  • Could u pls tell me some one, when this model getting launch in india

  • Thanks for your quick review. In HK we will get it in Sept and I think my wife will like it. Also quite interesting to see how AT&T gets Flipout and Tmobile gets the Charm....

  • i just got mine today in shanghai... it is unlocked with respect to the networks but locked in the applications the android should be open to... i just hope that back home, i can access the android market! :) pretty cutie phone :)

  • We brought you the first pictures of the AT&T version of the Motorola Flipout, and now it's time to drop off a truckload of info on the device. Let's do so in handy bullet form, shall we? The phone runs the updated version of Motoblur 1.5 -- but it's not what you find on the Droid X and Droid 2. The operating system is Android 2.1 (update1, we presume). Widgets are resizeable, like on the Droid X and Droid 2. There are filtering options for your social networks, so you're not completely deluged with information. The 2.8-inch screen (at the old-school 320x240 resolution) is described as "garbage" with a low, low 120 pixels per inch. (Hey, it's not mean to be high-end.) That said, the body of the phone and build quality are said to be top-notch, which is no surprise for Motorola. We may not like the design, but, dammit, they can certainly build things well. Benchmarks: 26FPS on nenamark, 444 on quadrant, 5.8MFlops on linpack, but it's topping out on gears and 2dfps at 30FPS. The phone is pretty speedy, with its OMAP processor running at 720MHz and PowerVR SGX 530 GPU. This is AT&T we're talking about, so there is no app sideloading, but like the Backflip and Aria and Captivate, you can use ADB or the Android Sideload Wonder Machine to install the .apk files. Google Navigation is in, and Google is the default search, unlike on the Backflip. Yahoo is the homepage, but that is changed easily enough.

  • el un bueno aparato! no es el mejor aparato del motorola yo creo que con sus actualisaciones podera ser bien mejor

  • nokia just follower ever

  • yes, the 1st swivel phone is moto v70 that was the original idea from moto..!!!! & the 1st color displayed phone is siemens s10power & the 1st sliding phone is siemens s10active with fingerprints lock. that was greatest idea & the best design before 1990

  • yes, the 1st swivel phone is moto v70 that was the original idea from moto..!!!! & the 1st color displayed phone is siemens s10power & the 1st sliding phone is siemens s10active with fingerprints lock. that was greatest idea & the best design before 1990

  • So who came out with the "turn" phone idea before Moto V70?

  • I want this phone does anyone know if it or when it will be available in the u.s. i must have it

  • Motor stolen Nokia idea,Nokia stolen the idea from some Chinese factories,,,,,

  • so cute mobile

  • Would be nice to see a higher MP camera on this phone.

  • When is it coming out ? Even the official Motorola website has no information about it ...

  • is it a touchsceen?

  • Just review it.

  • i wanna know in what website i could get the manual i lost mine

  • To start with the Tag- A complete phone! Reasons _SImple as the followin- Style, Features-WLAN n 3g, Qwerty, Android, 16k bucks... Just too good... It is a complete phone since it has all the features which the leading phone makers have failed to provide in their recent launches, especially a android 2.1 operatin system.... As a gadget crazy n experienced follower of all the cellpones... This is the best cookie to look out for...

  • ah was looking forward 2 it..bt price just disappointed me :(

  • What are the sar values? I blatantly refuse to buy anything with sar >0.6

  • Yes, little bit pricey for what's essentially a "look at my average phone with a flip-out keyboard"

  • nice design powefull cpu good os

  • Too Costly..

  • is the phone included with video calling

  • its costly....

  • a gr8 design thnx to design team for unveiling a product like this its similar to x501 but i will opt for flip out Motorola finally got d formula to retain their spot which they struggled to find out thts why experimented with java and linux but their key of success is android

  • Suggest you ask Google, it says Android currently doesn't support video call...

  • German customers will be able to buy the Motorola Flipout via Vodafone, O2 and The Phone House, for 349 ($428) free of contract. The Flipout is one of the most interesting Android handsets announced until now, featuring a flipping QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.1, MotoBlur, a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google Maps (with free navigation where available), Crystal Talk technology, 3.5mm headset jack, and a 3MP photo camera

  • Hey Motorola..you should've put a front-cam for videocall..

  • sexy and beautiful mobile i love moto

  • I really wish it had 5 mega pixel camera. can u still do it moto?

  • i used a sidekick for almost 3 years not once did i have a problem with the flip, i bought the sidekick in 2006, we are now in 2010 i think the flip should be just as good or maybe better,, thank you

  • Seems like you needed a Q9/Q11 with "bar and qwerty" design... But then the Q9/Q11 became just like another bar with qwerty phone, not really apart from other brands from a glance. The "turn" design is what makes this phone special...and keep its size fully "pocketable" like SE X10 mini, yet the screen is larger with a more comfortable keypad. If you ever worry about the "turn" function would not work properly, suggest you ask owners of V70/V80 and see if their "turn" function ever failed before they sold their phones.

  • Motorola shouldn't have made a flip out model. Screen should be attached permanently to the key board, just like Nokia E72 but with beautiful single line numeric button. One of these days the FLIP OUT owner is going to fund out that the screw (whatever) will become loose and regret buying it. The keyboard is the only thing I like the most compared to other qwerty keyboard/pad phone in a portrait mode as they are not combining the alphabet with the numbers.

  • yup motoflip out has pich zoom in out. for more info bout moto flip out, check motorola's videos on you tube ^u^

  • actually, motorola had a few changes in the motoblur of moto flip out, it has filtering, better mssg managing, etc. Also motorola has made a battery saving manager with in moto flip out which u can customize or preset power usage of the phone to extend battery life, u may chack out motorola's videos on youtube. ^u^

  • I like it its fine in specification, I will buy for Me, Motorola hand sets are good, but battery back up are poor to other company's hand sets

  • man............. i dont know why motorola people are not lunching new products in market....whats is the prob.........?

  • display is capacitive

  • who cares that it's a copy to the nokia twist LAME phone? i mean with all due respect, this phone has wifi..yea maybe it's a little odd shaped.....but cool. if you dont like it go and be like everyone else with the HUGE screen which will barely fit in your pocket and will def not be as cool (with regards to design). with regards to it's features i have no idea as of yet cos i havent put my hands on it!..........i wish but i have to wait. it looks awesome! well done moto

  • does this motorola show call waiting?

  • hi gsmarena please update spec of this phone : display is capacitive with multi touch

  • The touchscreen is multitouch? Can we pinch to zoom?

  • this iz very good fone!!!!

  • Its unique and its a very cool design but the only problem is that it doesn't have flash and it only has 3.15 mega pixels...

  • awesome design.. like the design. tech specs gud as well. ll buy one fa sure..

  • it has wifi b/g/n go to motorola site and see

  • doesn't look like a sturdy phone.. but of course, i still have not used that phone.. i may be wrong..

  • Nice 1 from Motorola, i think Motorola is getting from black days....Keep it up and beat the Nokia.

  • only 2.8" screen with low resolution...fugly fone..

  • this phone is truly magnificent! I like his specs and design

  • Well, maybe, but in the days of V70/V80, did one have to "turn" in order to answer a call?

  • In terms of "twist" phone, I wonder when Motorola released its V70, who else was making "twist" phone? Did it sell a lot? At least yes where I live. Guess you never even "try" the Android OS, as if you do so, anything with Symbian is as slow as a big truck, while Android devices are as fast as many sports cars.

  • Moto with bad cam? Ever try the one on Zn5? One of the best 5mp cam, possibly beating some 8mp cam. Signal being rubbish? I always get better signal on my V9 over my wife's iphone with the same network.

  • refreshing divese when touch phones all look the same moto find somthing cute.why they go for a qvga res when it gets to droid screen going to eat the fun

  • Looks cool and it can set a new trend on the market, because if it´s shape, like ipod did long time ago.... Looks like Moto is back on track!

  • this is true spec : Experience Social messaging Form Factor Rotator keyboard Social Messaging Service MOTOBLUR 1.5 Operating System Android v2.1 Processor TI OMAP3410 Processor Clock Speed 600 MHz RAM 512 MB Flash ROM 512 MB User Storage Available (max) 150 MB Memory Card Type microSDHC, Class 6 FAT32 Memory Card Size Supported (max) 32 GB Input Types Directional keys Home/Menu/Back touch-sensitive buttons Keyboard: physical, on-screen Touch screen: capacitive Display Size (diagonal) 2.8 in (small) Resolution 320 x 240 (QVGA) Pixel Density 120 dpi (low) Primary Orientation Landscape Number of Colors Up to 16M Additional Camera Features Geotagging Panorama Kodak Perfect Touch Video Recording Resolution (max) 352 x 288 (CIF) Video Recording Frame Rate (max) 25 fps Video Playback Resolution (max) 352 x 288 (CIF) Video Playback Frame Rate (max) 30 fps Messaging IM SMS MMS Email Protocols Exchange ActiveSync 2003 and 2007 IMAP4 POP3

  • veeeeeeeeeeeeeeryyyyyyyyy nice i want buy two of this model one for myself and one for my girl friend

  • Thats odd, thats the first Ive heard of that happening. We sell loads of Dext's as well. Never had an issue, or you just trying to bash the product?

  • I don't want to be nagging about the small things, but the screen fitted in this device is a serious bummer. TFT 240x320 256k. And I didn't know they still make 3.15mpx cameras (and no flash either). The power on this device will be okay but there's room for improvement.

  • GSMArena please update the specs : TI OMAP3410 600 MHz 512 MB RAM 150 MB internal memory Capacitive display 16M colors Video Recording - 352 x 288 (CIF)@25fps Geotagging

  • With this I agree! This is unique. :)

  • wau ! cool phone . the shape make it comfortable to on9

  • In august or September

  • naaah, it's an unique phone. I know moto it's not too perfect brand but it's unique enough for the model. not many brand use the model like this

  • I hope this phone will be out in Indonesia, and it's not expensive, and then I will buy it. I love nexian, this type. but I don't like the brand. so, I will not buy it (nexian). that's why I hope this phone will be out in Indonesia

  • this phone design is very unique and different from others! I like unique phones. I will get one to play. Last time i bough nokia lip stick phone 7280 it was also very unique. Nice design! But the specs not that great.

  • The only problem with Moto is their cameras are always rubbish and you can never download games and the signal is alwyas rubbish

  • I agree with you!

  • Wow, another ugly phone from Moto, I think Moto will win a gold medal for his ugly phones. Sory 4 the comment Moto fans, but this is a really ugly phone. This is my opinion.

  • the phone looks cute and the specifications are to good when does it will be available in indian market

  • wonder if the battery will last 2 hours and burn your hands off like the dext we sold loads and refunded them all because we exchanged them 3 times

  • Looks smart but not dat smart ,As the shape is square.........

  • Out of all Android-based Motos release so far, I personally like the MT720 best.

  • very very nice phone fantastic best choice for young boy's and girl's

  • simply out of the world......shape and specs, will love to buy

  • Wewh, Just like squarry phone is being trend now... Look at nokia 7705 twist and one of nexian(micromax) phone, these phones has same design... But anyway, this phone is cool with android and touchscreen, Hope it won't be expensive...

  • will look abit different holding a squarish phone when calling someone :P

  • very nice and powerfull

  • cool phone!!!! Better thn milestone... Hope the price of motorola milestone will drop now!!!! Hello moto :)

  • no ! dnt need open slider for answer call ts is touch scren too

  • do we need to open its "slide" everytime to answer call? i mean the mic and speaker position look like we need to do that everytime... :/

  • i want to buy this phone for my girl friend

  • Is this Cpu better than the TI Omap 3430 550Mhz cortex a8 of the milestone!?

  • i LikE it!!! hopE it's not thAt expensiVe though... loOks cool on greEn or reD

  • great design great features great cpu great os

  • Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) CPU TI OMAP3410 700MHz processor nice & powerfull

  • nice design

  • nice job moto

  • this is one very cool looking phone. There may not have been a succesful square phone, but there have been some with twisting displays (there was sony ericsson walkman phone that was very cool). If it will receive proper marketing, this should sell well among 'young-ish' people,18 to 30 year olds. Anyway, this is the only phone that looks half decent enough to make me want to try android. Till it comes, i'll be sticking with good old symbian...

  • I think its a cool phone as I have been waiting for a square small phone for a long time.

  • this is what I am talking about , verrrrrrrrrrrry cool

  • Cooollll!!!

  • Looks cool but practical too. As long as the mechanism / servo will be good, the phone is worth having i think.

  • looks like an gameboy with qwerty keypad -_-

  • what are they thinking there has never been a successful square phone in the history of mobile communications. F--

  • it looks more like an elephant than a phone.

  • excellent job moto best choice for young boys and girls like myself

  • Looks Cool...

  • LOL everything is a rip off

  • HAH !!! its a joke, not a phone !!! 320x320 resolution ???? SAD !!!

  • well done! moto, give us more creativity phone. hope you can win more market share this year.

  • a ripoff of nokia 7705 Twist... search it on google

  • Hopefully it will launch globally

  • Supper! Welcome back with innovations moto!

  • the desig team should be renamed the bizzare team lol.kinda interesting form factor, butttt... will it be user friendly???

  • Response to the iPad!? Ha, no, not really. I'd be interested to see more pictures of this, I think it will be quite an attractive device, especially when closed.

  • i thought it was a Cubo too! i like the cubo, shame its not out in Europe.

  • whos looking at this phone and saying its an ipad rip off? think your eyes are sewn together pal

  • Motorolas response to iPad. UGLY!!

  • dude its horrible.

  • Too squary

  • I think it's genious with a square phone. And with the keypad and an emulator, it'l be like having a portable 8/16bit multiconsole.

  • Looks like a horrible phone. too big and lacks appeal.

  • very nice phone

  • Actually this is the Motorola Motocubo that was released in Latin America. The name is a rip though.

  • I think it will be be Android 1.5 i think... not 2.1 - if they do they better update dext/cliq to 2.1 same time

  • they copied Nokia twist.

  • mhm thats right. In picture looks like some (i)pad :D

  • looks great for texters!
