Motorola MC55 - User Reviews

  • Today is October 4, 2019, and yesterday I bought three second-hand Motorola MC5574 EDAs, they work great, they are perfect, they perform as if they were just taken out of the box, and time and hits have not affected them at all . Very easy to program with Microsoft Visual Studio, a true tank.

  • How can I unlock my MC55 and use in Ghana? I've inserted a local sim card but keep on receiving GSM NOT READY message.

  • How can i get this device in Bangladesh, want to buy,plz as soon inform me

  • Anyone know if I can get the Motorola mobile computer with a 2 Sim Slot and 2 SAM slots?

  • Motorola MC55 Devce have scanner?

  • hm,it cool but funny with a horn

  • This device does not come standard with a QR code reader. I would imagine you could develop a generator no problem as it has a windows Mobile base OS. The issue would be reading it.

  • l want to buy this phone, is there any arrangement that l acn buy it and you post it to me or dou you have any fealers here in zimbabwe. l really needs this phone thank you in advance

  • We're planning to develop application program to generate QR Code for our Warehouse Management System. I would like to ask if this model or any other model of Motorola PDA Scanner could support QR Code generation.

  • We're planning to develop application program to generate QR Code for our Warehouse Management System. I would like to ask if this model or any other Motorola PDA Scanner could support to generate QR Code.

  • wooow it is nice have it but where in ghana can i get it?

  • this handset is look like as wiless phone, but it is very good look i like it

  • I agree buddy !!

  • hahah..detonator......but this thing is seriously strong....

  • is it a phone? or a detonator?

  • I agree.

  • Barcode scanner

  • I think its meant to be a tank.

  • 336 Grams !! i mean is it really 336 Grams?..the only question i could think of is... "BUT WHY??"..Wat is it made of? Carved Iron?? Black Stone?? it weighs as much as my laptop...Utterly unusable in those specs..Sorry Moto.. am usually a big fan n kindda liked this one in a outdoorsy way but this is ridiculuos..not worth it !!

  • hope you don't need to use as a phone. BARELY usable. I spend more time poking the phone than doing my job. productivity has dropped since company started using this horrible use of technology

  • how big are your hands?

  • Can you tell me how or what is needed to install the MC5574 to a Mitel 3300 IP PBX?

  • How can I order it to Cambodia. If I want to buy more.

  • Can I not get this one with NO games and NOSCRIPT features. Thanks

  • 152 x 77 x 27 mm How can I hold it in one hand????!!!! 27mm

  • This is used for general field operations, but opinions are of Phone.

  • i dont know how too keep this phone on my pocket, it look like walkie talkie.... but for spec i cant say it bad, totally great, not for design, let said. if u like go to hiking/climbing, this phone match with u, but im not sure when u like to go formal dinner.. and u keep this phone in ur hand.....

  • is it a good 1 2 buyy

  • pros good battery life big screen cons poor signal slow gps no camera app echo in conversations most importantly radio dies and you need new phone I am on my third

  • read the specs. 8s powerful man!

  • i like it's antena

  • Who ever says this phone is bad and ugly is just reasoning within his/herlegs.Its a very good phone and I really appreciate it but should be made available in all corners of the world. Its classic.

  • these is the type of ohone that somebody can use in all thing that he makes and the price is low as u can imagine

  • People wake up!!! This thing are for firms it have barcode scanner!!! At my firm all the agents have one of this!!! Its big!!! Wake up!!! Read specifications!!!

  • This phone seems out of futuristic need. Motorola must have provided 3G and Radio as well as secondary camera.

  • The antennae is alright, but a bit awkward. The TREO had a more practical symmetry. If only it can be sold in the Philippines. We always end up last in the Motorola when SAMSUNG and LG are always advanced here than in Europe and US.

  • eww this phone its ugly.

  • It looks better. But I think that not available in S.Asia

  • hey hey .. what do you expect from the price ?? Important thing is THE PRICE SUIT with it's SPEC

  • walkie talkie?

  • my phone looks prettier than this one...it doesnt have that ugly antenna although this one has more features

  • I don't care about all your opinions, if this damn thing ever enter Indonesia, I'll buy it!

  • not too smart

  • must say....looks apart amazing specs...touch,exp 8gb,qwerty and fall resistance......amazing for people who work on the streets....fireman,etc.

  • Who said ugly, do u think all under your bed sheet is beauty. MC55 is Good except for 3G. Best preferred for outdoor proff.

  • so motorola are adapting a new policy: back to nignties???

  • the most ugliest phone ever

  • No 3G. sad :(

  • I like it more

  • Motorola announced their new MC phones, those phones are too BIG! :( The specs are GOOD!

  • If Motorola wants to survive, and if they want to enter in the smartphone game, they need to put these things urgently:8MP CCD camera(or CMOS, CCD is new technology for them), 3.5 inch WVGA screen, Symbian V9.4 with 600MHZ CPU, Wi-Fi(in many phones they don't put Wi-Fi(great mistake)). They also need a Google Android phone, with good camera(with flash!!!), 3.5 inch screen, 8MP camera(not only 5MP) If they will make these things, they will grow very fast!!! I hope they will announce great things at Mobile World Congress next year(I hope for a 1GHZ CPU device, with 8MP camera(with flash ofcourse), 3.5, or 3.8 inch WVGA OLED screen :) ) We will see what will happen.

  • Its a fine phone for corporates. Motorola phones are very good in sound. My opinion it should come out with 3g and 5mp camera.

  • motorola MC950 new moto phone \ 3.5G WAN \ outfit proprietary \ very long battery life \ Marvell XScall PXA320 @ 806 MHZ \ widows 6.1 \ GPS for anywhere \ 3.2 mp auto focus ... .

  • great features. this phones like laptop powerfull

  • It looks like a damn calculator

  • Shock Resistant & concrete drop resistnt!!!! This is a crazy phone.I think this phone will make it big in the market but Motorolla need to come up with a version having 3G and a more powerful camera i.e 5MP. Kudos Moto!!!!!

  • It must be a fortune... barcode scanner, shock resistant, concrete resistant COME ON!!! it will be around 950 Euros but though an TOTALLY AWESOME PHONE!! AWESOME AWESOME!

  • its huge!

  • hey,let the haters talk negatively about the MC55 but the fact is that motorolla is taking it to another in manufacturing windows mobile fones,,,,,its serious davie k,kampala-uganga

  • Where to buy this one factory unlock ? anyone comment how about the price ? i thik more than $1000

  • Wake up MOTO.... your connectivity features are poor...learn from ur competitors

  • ok,, goodluck master... i'm back with my work now..

  • Man, what are you talking about? A Java phone is not mentioned "smartphone", and a Symbian based phone is a smartphone, the Samsung Pixon 12 is not a smartphone, don't be silly! The Satio is a smartphone, why you don't want to google it?

  • still,, symbian works on java.. -i'm sorry too..

  • i only like moto,s linix based phones which are always smarts

  • That phone IS NOT A SMARTPHONE because use Java, and all the Java phone are not smartphones, you have to learn more in this category, sorry 4 my comment, but this is true.

  • I agree with you Bro!

  • so you're saying that Pixon is not a smartphone? is it because Pixon doesn't use Symbian OS? ow come on, Blackberry also use its own OS, but everybody calls it Smartphone!

  • I saw the Motorola Morrison Android phone, is awesome, but will be available only in the States. :(

  • - Heavy weight....again Moto's MC series is designed for "industrial use", that means you should compare to the scanning device used by FedEX / UPC etc...and see if the 300+g is really heavy. - Cam. Do you see your FedEx / UPS guys ever use a cam for the job? - 65K color, let me know how many Windows Mobile 6.1 device out there offers better color. Such is the "limit" of Windows Mobile, not Moto.

  • Interesting for the fact you don't know anything about RFID but you're making comments on Moto's MC series phones. Like it or not, Moto's latest financial result shows it still sells more phones than the I ? Music brand.

  • Like it or not, Moto still outsells SE in recent financial result release....that means most phone users don't use high-end smartphones like X1 or X2...or A3100 from Moto. I do know certain facts: - Nobody else has made such "industrial use" phones like Moto's MC series - Most Moto phones, (except those OEM/ODM ones) offer the best voice quality in the industry, vs. certain I ? Music brand's bars phones being known to capture all the background noise that the person's own voice can hardly be heard - X1 is not really made by SE..."inside" should be HTC.

  • Why, SE has better phones like the Z10, well if you like that device, I have no problem!:)

  • but i never change my z10 whit all se phone even x series

  • They are almost dead, this year they announced what? Only weak phones, and what about smartphones? Sony Ericsson has more smartphones for this year, one is the Satio, another is the X2, and X3 Rachael.

  • So why Moto still sells more phones than SE?

  • hi guys, yes i agree that motorola is not as a power seller anymore compare to other brands.. but c'mon, give them a break.. a shock resistant phone is still a shock resistant phone..

  • motorola is motorola. a perfect gadget !!! nuthin can beat this model. the 1st brand when communication started,

  • this cellphone is very nice and have great DESIGN but UNFORTUNATELY it have these defects : - it is very heavy (336 g) - its camera is very old (2 MP) - its display could be better ( 65k colors ) Im so sorry for motorola

  • Qvga on a 3.5 inch screen. congrats motorola, thats stunning pixel density! anyway, to all the moto fans, face it, this brand is dying. very few people talk about, much less buy motos anymore, and i can count the number of notable motorola phones produced in the past 2 years on one hand.

  • I don't understand you. Sony Ericsson is better then Moto, don't tell me you believe MOto is in good condition, they will be dead if they don't change their plan(I mean more smartphone, more fashion phone, exemple that Karma from them is ugly, Moto has to learn to make phone with great design) I am really sorry for them, I don't want for them to be dead. :(

  • Can you elaborate how does the SE phones SCAN RFID codes like Moto's MC series? Still can't understand why people keep comparing water melons with oranges...

  • "Others say that this phone is built for those people who are always outside the office. Question is who are these people? Dont they ever get into an office and stay their to do their job." Guess you have never seen messengers, couriers, and people who work at warehouses who need to SCAN barcodes / RFID's, etc...

  • I wrote SE Satio is the only one 12MP smartphone.

  • You have to read carefully the comments, I rad Sony Ericsson Satio is the only one 12MP SMARTPHONE, not phone.:)

  • Specification: *OS Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional *CPU Intel PXA270 520 MHz processor *Camera Primary 2 MP, 1600x1200 pixels, autofocus, LED flash *GPS Yes, with A-GPS support *Display Type TFT resistive touchscreen, 65k colors Size 240 x 320 pixels, 3.5 inches - Full QWERTY keyboard *WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g *Shock resistant - Drop-to-concrete resistance up to 1.2m - Operating temperature -10C to 50C *Battery Standard battery, Li-Ion 2400 mAh Stand-by Up to 100 h Talk time Up to 6 h Extended battery, Li-Ion 3600 mAh Stand-by Up to 150 h Talk time Up to 9 h

  • satio is not the only 12MP camera phone, samsung has it also... btw, this phone is great enough,, Moto just need to add HSDPA, radio, and maybe better camera. the best part is, this is an outdoor phone!!

  • this is a smart-outdoor-phone. Hope it will come to indonesia ASAP with 3G/HSDPA.

  • motorola has no brain! he think we are just kids!!! this phone is like a big toy!! just look at this size and the color of keyboard! tits a shame and specification....

  • This phone is great, but is too big!! I reccomand ya guys to choose the Sony Ericsson Satio, or the X1 device, those are great phones! Satio is the only one 12MP smartphone, and is cool.

  • Man when I saw the phone I thought it's one of the primitive hand held devices from the early 1990's. Motorola your designer really sucks! Sure enough the features are nice but man this phone looks like a bath soap soaked in pure black unadulterated oil. Yuck! Others say that this phone is built for those people who are always outside the office. Question is who are these people? Dont they ever get into an office and stay their to do their job. Try to look and feel the market. Dont try to do it your way, you have been losing for the longest time. Help the market get what they want.

  • i think its nice overal

  • Ppl, it's a _rugged_ phone, not a smartphone for geeks like HTC Diamonds. The phone is very nice and enough for the most tasks, but no HSDPA, that's why I'll stay away from it. Motorola, you don't have a brain. If this phone is used by the security who walks around a wifi-covered object, that's okay. But some people also move around the city. And outside the city where is 3G but no wifi networks at all. Why don't you think about this?

  • Worst smartphone 2009 ever! (to date, maybe Moto will make even worse units later, as they seem to go back in time...)

  • No 3G is excellent? Also look at the resolution!!!

  • excelent features only the camera is a litle poor

  • Does any Motorola phone have 3G? I think it's 3G that killed Moto, really!

  • The specifications suggest, this one is a serious application based armor plated phone for those spending more time on field than in office, and those who need the unique barcode scanner etc. Its an evolutionary model, suggesting the phone is much more than just a device to make voice calls, browse net, click pictures, play media, and find your way (GPS). This actually re-opens up the industrial grade build quality in cell phones. Phone like this could be held up against the bandwagon lot like, hum-V in cars / G-shock in watches / Swiss army knife. Not sure if this product will be a big-hit in the market, but it will surely last forever with those who get to buy it. Also it opens up a niche segment. We could have so many more things in our phones: Temperature / humidity / air pressure sensors, Magnetic compass, Ultrasonic ranging, Infra-red vision, Speed radar detection

  • thanks Motorola for inventing a wireless telephone set for the uses of 19th century.

  • shut up motorola and general motor are live forever

  • ...seems like lately Moto want to join GeneralMotors...

  • No Samsung unit can scan any barcode or RFID's like Moto's MC-series. Don't know how many times I need to mention, this "device" is NOT intended for the mass market, indeed no consumer can likely purchase ONE unit right out of any phone shop. So other than the GSM capability, this phone simply CANNOT be compared with any other GSM phone in the market, as the intended customers are TOTALLY DIFFERENT. So to the rest of you, stop your non-sense comments about how this phone looks so 90's or whatever being behind others....as its barcode / RFID reading capability already being unmatch by anything else in the market. Of course I do expect some only know how to write English but can't read...

  • Good device. Try taking an Omnia out and using it in a muddy field in the rain...

  • retro ...nice....16m pix would be great

  • Guys are you from 90s. Check out Samsung's Omnia HD!

  • nyc usefull wm6.1 phone bt no 3g???? come on guys...very rare

  • 3.5 " disply resistive touchscreen whit Full QWERTY keyboard oh my god moto is best

  • great phone only camera is poor and a litle heavy at last very good design and features its INIMITABLE

  • damn, this phone is too heavy to carry, it even heavier than my dad's nokia 9500!!

  • very good for work

  • do you use this phone that say batery life is not good ??!! this is busines phone that u keep it all time in your pocket i cant see any able brand that make one phone like mc55 whit this features

  • it's too big and too wide it's too thick this phone is not fitted in my packet, and it's battery life is too short this phone is not ok

  • QVGA resolution on a 3.5" screen? It's going to look like little squares!

  • i like the rugged design with business features good for a change away from the trendy delicate designs

  • TFT resistive touchscreen 3.5 inches - Full QWERTY keyboard wow wow wow its laptop

  • So which brand's designers are being so "innovative" to incorporate a barcode / RFID scanner into a phone?

  • The problem here is that this is a professional working pda :) its durable and costs around....1500 EUR - one can use it professionally for 10 or more years.

  • anyone know if this model MC55 is bigger than Nokia E61i? thanks

  • Motorola ran out of ideas or their designers were on long holiday break? There is no innovative design ever seen their last masterpiece-proud-of Razr. Hopefully they won't end up like Alcatel.

  • great phone which other company can make this like phone !!?? wherea motorola make best luxury phone busines and work phone and ... best slider , clamshell and windows mobile

  • retard complety def no brain at all thats not a regular mobile headless

  • Deci....nu il apcept...

  • It's the world's worst mobile phone model! Shma on Motorola!

  • this phone looks horrible, why dont motorola give up the Raza is dead and gone

  • *i hope i don't catch a flu with a "window phone"

  • i hope i don't catch a flu with a "windows phone"

  • great phone i wana buy it

  • come'on moto.. put ur white flag up!

  • window phone without 3 G what r u doing moto,

  • I like the idea of a "ruggidized" smart phone. Different. Kudos.

  • Its big at 27 152 x 77 x 27mm dimensions.

  • this is good for cashiers not just supermarket cashiers but any kind of store that sells stuff which needed barcode scanners. should be good for libaries too since the barcodes have been adopted. and it's designed to take abuse so that's always good

  • Honestly, I could stand the fugliness had it the specs, but it lacks BOTH! If you drop a "business" phone below Q's specs and looks, its a dead beat.

  • unfortunately.....without 3G! i need to video calling!

  • if you didn't saw this phone don't have 3g .

  • Maybe it is weird to be called a "Business man wearing a tuxedo kinda business phone" - It is a business phone for many other business such as courier, construction and many others. A business does not necessarily mean you have to wear a black tie. Other companies does not make these kinds of phone because Motorola is the only company who owns the rights to produce such products. Symbol is now a part of Motorola producing these products. This is called a handheld computer and not just any ordinary mobile phone. Can other mobile phone support up to 6 hours of TALK TIME on 3G? Get your facts right babies...

  • moto plz stop trying... just looking at this phone makes my eyes hurt moto gunna keep goin down

  • It would have been better with a slide out keypad. It looks really cheap the way it is now.

  • Motorola plz come out with new design...

  • it will be very useful for carpenters they could hamer nails with it . lol :D

  • great phone i like it

  • I had a phone like that, about 12 years ago although i suppose all of motorolas phones are a bit out dated

  • If there was a nobel price for mobile phone design, this would be a clear winner!!!!!

  • thanck you dear motofan.ir for your information about motorola mobie camputer its realy best able company at world

  • Motorola i365IS Rugged Military Intrinsically Safe Phone : Sprint offering the rugged cellphone from Motorola, called i365IS with Intrinsically Safe (IS) series which appears with ultra-rugged military design for dust, humidity, blowing rain, vibration and shock resistant functions. Sprint Motorola i365IS do not have any special features, beside the rugged design and GPS navigation system. It only have 130130 resolution screen with 64K colors as well as Second Line Service and Bluetooth connection. For the Intrinsically Safe functions, it boast a protection technique for safe operation of electronic equipment in the explosive area. Unfortunately, Motorola i580 : If you are looking for an extreme cell phone with military standard, shock resistant, dust resistant, solar radiation, extreme temperature resistant, wind & rain resistant, mist & humid resistant, water resistant , Motorola i580 is the perfect cell phone for you. Motorola doesnt monkeyed with Motorola i580 as extreme cell phone, because Motorola i580 has Military Standard 810 F certificate for shock & drop resistant test. Plus, Motorola i580 battery capacity 1130mAh and has 200 minutes talk time ability.listen to MP3s, snap photos, enjoy Bluetooth Wireless Technology freedom, and so much more. You can also save your images and audio files to the i580's memory or to a removable MicroSD memory card

  • It's a little awkward to name it business phone, because it's field of applications are industrial, so industrial phone sounds closer. "Business phone" refers usually (in current idiom) to a slick device that offers connectivity to suit dressed people on the go. This phone it's designed for people working in harsh environment, where there's the risk of dropping it on the floor, high temperatures, humidity. 336 grams is not a weight to carry around for fun. Screen is low res, battery life only 6 hours for 2400mAh? It uses the bar code scanner all the time? Not impressive, really out-dated.

  • guys its not stylish phone its business phone hard and tough for work do you know any able brand can make this like businnes phone and they only make beautiful and stylish phone while motorola make best luxury phone :aura , w450 , a1800 gold ... best busines phone : mc 50 ,mc 55 ... best camera phone :zn5 best clamshel : razer series , i9 ,zn4 best win mobile :q11, a3100 ... best slider : ve66 , z10 ,qa4 evoke ...

  • sorry moto, but your time is up. i hope moto will sink with its american compatriots so-called "the big three"... moto fails.. US fails

  • i like it im civil engineer very usefull for work very tenacious and redoubtable

  • In the next Rambo this will be the main weapon :D

  • soon, se fans will say that xperia is so much better than MC55 and i will laugh out loud!

  • so ugly!!!! :p

  • nice business phone why other brand dont make business phone ???!!!

  • 336g my goodness!!!!!!!!

  • i work in a rogers wireless call center in canada and this is the only website we are allowed to look at. MAN, the threads are so funny.

  • i think motorola invented an ak-47 ( mobile version )

  • motorola is the very special phones in the world

  • It looks very dated like PALM

  • what's this? oh! a stun guN!

  • i should become a designer for motorola ! lol

  • hi guys this is a cool but heavy cell it has many feauter but in net it is slow bcz it has no 3g

  • Do you really understand this device is not exactly a phone, rather being a "scanner" with "phone function". So how "smart" you want a "scanner" looks like? This device is NOT an ordinary phone to be compared with most other phones you buy in a phone shop. Or else, how would you design this phone? A super tiny screen like those on I ? Music brand so when this "scanner" scans in over 20 items, the user has to scroll down many times to read the data? Or do you think other "scanning devices" like those being used by UPS or FedEX are smarter looking than this? If this device looks 10 years old, I think the one being used by UPS is 20 years old, that's what you should compare.

  • ok yes this is aimed for people who need a sturdy phone than can withstand tough conditions etc for work blah blah blah. But stil that is no excuse for the poor design that would only appeal to a baby. I mean who said that strong, sturdy phones can't also look good. i'm sure people who need phones like this, would want one that looked as if it came out in the past 5 years.....not like 10 years ago lol no wonder moto is stil declining after so long. if someone gave me this piece of rubbish i'd prolly chuck it at a wall or something, as this seems to be one of the phones key features (shock resistance)..... moto fail fail fail

  • good phone

  • Just because your boss allows you to listen to radio at work, you need to respect others who can't... This device is a WORK phone, doubt anyone would carry it during the weekends for FUN!

  • Moto will capture 100% market share of this phone's targeted segment, because NODODBY ELSE IS CAPABLE to make such INDUSTRIAL DEVICE. Only fools would think they can buy one out of the stores where they buy other phones...

  • Fail!!! Really Motorola? Fire your design team and the upper management that approved this piece of crap. That's why you lost market share!!

  • who will buy this lund phone ?

  • No Radio and 3G. luck of one thing Not Water proof lol!

  • As mentioned it seems to be all in one, But after proper launch we can comment well. But overall a nice effort from Motorolla, like ever it did.

  • Woah, it's like, you mix extreme condition and phone at the same time. TO THE EXTREEEEMEEEE....

  • lol 3g in a supermaket , warehouse or industries will be so useful , and doesn't have what a fail. maybe u should buy a glasses or some brains

  • wow, everything is here!!!!

  • To all of those who keep complaining about the design of this phone: Really intersting to learn the fact many people who keep complaining about this phone seem like they CANNOT READ THE SPECS and FULLY UNDERSTAND the target market of this phone. This phone is NOT designed to compete in the mass consumer market, so it CANNOT compete with the E-series of the almighty brand...or ANY other device with phone function from ANY OTHER BRAND at the moment, because NOBODY ELSE OTHER THAN MOTO knows how to make a PHONE which also READS UPC BARCODE and RFID's and others. IF YOU DON'T know what RFID is, suggest you do some research and let me know if ANY OTHER PHONE from ANY OTHER BRAND has such capability. This phone is designed for FLEET SALES and NOT the mass consumer market. Potential customers will likely buy more than one unit at a time....so which phone model out there can guarantee sales of at least 2 units per customer? (if people keep comparing grapes with steak, or pork chop if you like...the only thing in common is all are being FOOD!)

  • Sooo moto decided to combat phones like E75 and E55 with this outdated crap?! Get real moto, its REALLY time to step things up.

  • nice phone... 8s amazing....

  • seems like phones are going back to the classics, just like cars...this phone must've been in the works since about 95 or so :p

  • this is best phone ever!!

  • what a waste of metal. couldn't they come up with something else lol. i had rather not have a phone than have this

  • Wow.. a rough phone, been a while since we had this kind of phones.. too bad its not 3G or i would have one, at least this will be the one living longer than the others ;p

  • ofc u never have this phone u don't have capacity to work with one and understand what it's for.

  • I had design in my mind. Not functions or abilities. :)

  • stop it.... moto please

  • very good business phone and very DURABLE its not stylish phone dear friend

  • ugly handphone by MOTOROLA camera just 2 MP WTF!! antenna??? if somebody give me this handphone i will throw it to river

  • I guess this isn't targeted at the masses who buy stuff based on looks, but rather professionals who need reliability and toughness. If the MC55 (from the name it would look like a Siemens model!) has a metal casing to enhance its durability, it needs an external antenna to be able to pick up any signal.

  • Let me explain again thats not for personal use . Thats for industries why retards keep commenting just to comment and talk things that they don't know. of course is ugly and awful cause for work u don't even care if is slide or have 3mp or mp3 player u want i resistent good battery and has the apps u need like bar code .

  • Stopid Design

  • Then you should STOP enjoying express mail / delivery services from UPS or FedEX, whose staff uses similar brick looking devices. Can't understand why people keep posting comments when they don't even know what RFID is all about...

  • wow im so proud of motorola innovations hahahhaahhaa

  • great phone

  • boss it's a phone with full technolgy

  • Why wound anyone want this hunk of crap!?

  • This phone's ugly, typical motorola crap, guess there's alot of stupid ppl in the world if a market exists for this

  • B4 you or anyone keeps complaining about the design of this phone, if you know any other brand can offer the same features (such as reading barcodes and RFID) like this Moto unit for INDUSTRIAL USE, let me know.

  • Is this a walkie-talkie?

  • Are they recycling old designs? In 2009 who on the earth has such ugly antenna sticking out I wonder.

  • im eagerly waiting for this beast to be unleashed....i hope it may have a strong support for different applications....but the main things is that its smart phone and its rugged complaint with USA military standards..

  • very very very nice

  • This one looked so 80's

  • its hummer 2, love it. want to buy. macho look

  • This phone is for industrial propose. You will never see it in stores. Design is very smart and useful. -> totally agreed! and it's also a lot better than those functionless big radios!

  • it has a codebar reader , wich means is good for industries, warehouses, supermarkets . and for that is pretty goods , really good for make shopping " compare prices between shops". i have to say moto ur are on good way , at least for professionals

  • This phone is for industrial propose. You will never see it in stores. Design is very smart and useful.

  • This phone is for people who work construction and who work in places where constant phone abuse is scene, and there for will appeal to that market doesn't take a brain surgeon to see that a construction worker wouldn't mind a slightly indestructible phone that can use walkie talkie, and that can still keep track of the next house or project he or she will be doing, if thats what its for theres no need for any other features, it will see to people it is designed for

  • Smart, but ugly! I want to see a big, HTC Touch HD like design Motorola, with 3.5,or 3.8 inch screen, and with 5 Mp camera.

  • Because other brands don't seem to have the capability to make some device...even 2099

  • Ask your FedEX / UPS delivery boy / gal and see if they ever need USB 2.0 or 3G on their "handheld" device....for "scanning" purposes.

  • This thing looks like its from 1999!!

  • anyway, lack of usb 2 an 3G is strange for such a big and advanced device(same as presence of external antena...)

  • what the hell is that........... rocking never seen features,m impressed

  • There are are two versions of this phone one has a TWO WAY RADIO with an external antenna and one doesn't. I can't beleive people can be so thick. The external antenna is for the two way radio or walkie talkie function.

  • No question about the durability of Motorola device, I accidentaly left my phone inside my pocket and run under washing machine. yet it still work. However, HTC device and model's specs really outweigths moto phones

  • Neither A3100 nor Q11 reads any barcode or RFID like MC55, so your equation does not work...

  • Simple: Q11 + A3100 = MC55

  • i wana say any company cant make the phone like this than the CAPABLE company moytorola

  • Yah, I like it... As soon as it enters the market, I will grab it ,,

  • Call me naive, which phones from the 90's can read off UPC / barcodes or even RFID tags? Or did RFID tags even exist back then?

  • nice i like it

  • That's because it will take at leat 5, 10, or 15 years for other brands be capable to make anything similar to capture that segment of the market...not likely for anyone you know. My company indeed is interested in such device for its scanning capabilites, and compare to other similar deveices (think about the device you see FedEX or UPS staff are carrying...), this unit is relatively small.

  • Just curious as if you ever use your phones outdoor and drop them perhaps at least once a week and see if they can survive like Moto phones. My friend's N76 only dropped ONCE, and the flip already turned 180 degrees and lost the flip open to answer function, while my friend's wife uses Moto V3maxx survived at least 50 similar impact and still works perfectly. This MC series is NOT designed for people like you...the barcode scanning capabilities are likely for those in logistics.

  • Let's see when the other 2 brands you mentioned EVER can come out with such INDUSTRIAL device. The device is capable to scan barcodes for logistics, delivery, products visibility, etc... So if your favorite companies can come out with such device, let me know so my company can consider. (yes, my COMPANY is considering such barcode reading device...) A PHONE for EVERYBODY eh? Some company can't even make its own WM base phone!

  • It looks nice... But that antenna??

  • never come back in style never

  • its a rugged phone, not fashionable, but resistant

  • the diferent design beautifull excellent for busines

  • i'm an architect. i use an e71 and an ARTE (have used e50, e51..etc) NO way !

  • 336 Gr. omg?!?!? wtf ?!?!? whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

  • Now thats the point I Agree

  • It's not just for executives in Iraq...! Think about architects, engineers, contractors, etc. who may need a tough phone and require a smartphone capabilities for business purposes! I for one like it (except for that huge bulging bump on top...I know... its a tough antenna..)

  • Wow !Wow !! Wow !!! Byutiful

  • vow vow vow

  • Stupid designer from Moto. Moto making same mistakes like 5; 10 and 15 years ago!

  • Looks like a phone from the late 90s, even then it was outdated.....

  • For those executives who work in the iraq, or in the desert it might be handy....What a brick, as a motorola fan this is not exactly the most thrilling phone out there. At least there are not many as this one, who knoew why??

  • 3.5" and QWERTY under it and that's 336G !
