It is a bit old now and I will try to sell it. But it never let me down. Works great. If you aren't gamer or heavy user this phone is enough for you as it works with stock android with no bloatware.

I am really happy with this phone. I bought it on 25th march 2017 and i am still using this phone on 27 september 2019. I used this phone alot like minimum 3 hrs per day. Even i play PUBG In this mobile for continuous 2:30hrs in this 2gb ram phone and dont get heated. Still it works pretty well as i heard many memes for 2gb ram mobiles when playing pubg. But this phone is best even in 2gb ram . Now with the superb technologies (like i bought it for ₹9000 , and now i can buy in this price range a 3gb ram phone redmi 7S with too many features) , my mobile has become very old because very less features (not physically old) but still it really work well. No scratch , no battery problem. If i removed back cover now , it will still look like new phone. Superb phone . ❤️

I have had mine for three years and it has been absolutely great!! Few people use their phone so much as I do for absolutely everything, I even write A LOT on it. I can just be honest, it has never let me down. Now it's getting a bit old, but nothing that makes it hard to use. I paid ridiculously little for it when it was new and it will be another Motorola the day I need a new one. Now I have changed battery in this one. It is so easy to buy capacity you don't use for lots of money, but I bet few would find this phone incapable to do what they ask of it. Well... of course, my first GSM-Motorola cd160 was great too... They have been good, only to accept it. I still have a Triband in working condition...

I've bought mine for 200 dollars and it's price is the same even after three years. Great phone for everyday use. Performance is good. Battery life is great. Camera is average. It is made of plastic but strong one. Very durable. I was about to sell it and buy new phone but decided to keep for now and just ordered new case. Overall if you aren't heavy gamer and play just some lightweight games it is great phone for you.

Highly underrated mobile is Moto G4 play. Moto should have updated it to at least Oreo. I didn't use this one for long time, but it was a great experience. However, one can still update this one to latest iteration by installing custom rom. I have updated my Moto G3 and G3Turbo with pixel experience rom. It may go on for at least a year or so. Pie version for same is available for G4 play.

I can relate about the GPS, in outdoor environments with no cell range is unusable, I've seen it offering precision of less than 2.5km in a mountain top with (obviously) clear view of the sky. Nonetheless in urban environments using network location mechanisms it is capable of adequate location.

The Moto G4 Play is an absolutely solid phone for $100. I own the XT1607, and it works great as my daily driver. However, on the XT1607 and a few other variants, THE GPS DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. This is 100% due to crappy hardware, or extremely low-level firmware. There has been very little luck on getting the GPS to work. If you buy this phone, make sure you keep your receipt, because it may have a bad GPS. Also, I'd recommend getting the phone unlocked, because only some variants have Android 7.1. Mine never got it, so I was stuck on 6 until I flashed Lineage. TL;DR This is a very solid phone for it's price. The GPS doesn't work at all on some variants, so keep your receipt. Some variants also never got Android 7.1, so make sure you get an unlocked phone if you're not cool with Marshmallow.

Nice phone for the price. Actually on Android 7.1.1. Pros: decent casual camera for daylight, battery life, time of charge without quick charge, price, removable battery, nice screen IPS (wide angle, colours), clean Android. Cons: low brightness screen under the sun, speaker low volume and low bass. Low volume jack 3.5mm, SD410 clockdown to 1.2 and not 1.4 like moto g3 and a bit bug that is a flick in the screen 2-3 per day.

DISSAPOINTED! My motorola XT1602 always show error "NO GPS" while using waze or google maps. I've tried aps like GPS Test, GPS Status, GPS Data to improve GPS but no luck. This is not recommended for GPS related aps.

Yes, I know Android Oreo is the latest and Android P is just around the corner, but I was on a very tight budget. The thing is, I turned the phone on, and then a series of updates started coming... but no Nougat. I thought Motorola had failed me. One month without any new update. Until today. This phone works perfectly for the price that i've paid for (about 175$ USD) and for what i am doing with it. If you are a photo maniac it is not the camera that you are looking for, but for the rest this is probably one of the best budget phone on the market even today for the price you will pay it. And By the way, USB OTG is taken in charge, I have been able to use 2 different version of FLIR ONE (Micro USB and FLIR ONE PRO with USB-C to Micro USB adapter) with it and the OTG is needed to detect the thermal camera. Turns out that the app works perfectly on Android 6.0. P.S: I have not seen any update for 7.1.1 by th way, does it worth trying to force it?

I really enjoyed my XT1607 for around the first year of owning it, than Moto released patches etc for security etc, then they took forever to release Nougat 7.1.1 OTA...Battery life is now draining crazy fast (used to only need to charge the phone on sunday of every week with ~20% battery remaining) this is with normal for me usage, little internet, some texting and talking and many hours of music play...NOW am LUCKY to get 4 to 5 days TOPS and that is with basically everything turned off to conserve battery life whereas before these updates/upgrades that they cloak as "security measures" royally screw with how quickly it boots up or shuts down (WAY SLOWER) they do NOT properly test simple things such as "battery life" one has to optimize, clear cache partition etc etc, something it should take care of itself when it updates the OS...and of course, they do NOT offer the option to revert the OS "upgrade" which is more of a major downgrade "but pretty" they want you to send it back to THEM to put back the stock version of the OS if you cannot seem to solve the problems. They dont care will cost who knows how much, and take possibly 2-3 weeks before you get it back..they also have the gall to say "we take pride in making sure our products and updates are thoroughly tested" yeh right. with the "stock" marshmallow, it worked awesome, one could get all kinds of volume booster apps (it does not go very loud brand new without one) the music players, the GUI etc worked awesome, but silly me checking for "updates" to make sure phone was "secure" because I do some mobile banking, of course, you put the update on, it screws you over, Moto/Lenovo know this, Android knows this, basically every "dumbphone" maker knows this (they seem to do it on purpose to force upgrade to newer more expensive model) Anyways...if it were the price it should have been (~$190 CAD tax and shipped) would have been amazing price for what it was, instead, was $287 May 2016 with the purchase of an overpriced sim card (costs them about $2, they charge $20 for "activation" which is all of a click of a button) they did not provide backup batteries for easy to purchase of the OEM ones, but claim on their marketing "easy to find so you can have a spare battery for those extra long word days" All marketing BS. anyways, the phone is "ok" even though its "specs" are using many year old chips etc charge ~1/3-1/2 the price of a much more "premium" model..it is not "bad" per say, but their commitment on the testing of updates and "customer service" that actually helps instead of spitting out the same old crud "did you try this, did you do that" even when you sent them a really long email explaining EVERYTHING they then tell you to try.. "sorry for the issues you are having, we take pride in our commitment to quality service" yes, and pigs fly by the wings they are born with >:( Avoid Android Nougat 7.1.1 like the plague, and of course Moto only "gives" 2 OS upgrades, both of which have been flawed which they should have known via their 1-1.5 years of internal testing before they released as an OTA "update" I am sorry to "bash" the same brand, but they seriously need give their heads a shake, as does droid in the first place, seeing as it is THEIR OS. as far as the whole "clear the partition" crud they try to insist that you need to do (which you honestly should not have to with a proper designed OS) I did exactly step by step 10-15x it never bloody worked. seems at the very least the nougat update is very hit and miss, no matter the brand nor the cost of the phone in question.

I have had problems with the gps on the moto g4 play. I have had the phone for just over a year. At first gps worked very well. Then about 4 months into usage the gps started to degrade. Operation got progressively worse until a few weeks ago it became completely useless. At this point i got desperate. After reading about the experiences of others, it seemed that the problem may be a loose connection, i decided to open the unit and have a look inside. There is a video on you tube which shows how to take it apart. I didn't see any loose connectors, however because of the gradual deterioration of the signal as seen when using the app "GPS test", I suspected that there may be some corrosion/oxidation of/on what I suspected was an antenna cable connector. This is a small wire that runs on the right hand side (phone face down) from the top to the bottom near the power connector. I simply lifted the connector and then pressed it back on. Did this at both ends. I reassembled the phone and the gps is now working again. It has been two days and the gps is still working.

Mine is XT1602 version with dual sim. Updated to nougat. Everything works fine. No issues. Performance improved. Battery life seems a bit better. Update to nougat don't worry. Don't forget to wipe cache partition after update.

Really good review. I'm using mine 10 months. Great phone. Battery life is super. Performance is very good. Build quality is quite durable. Inserted 64GB SD card and now it has 80GB. Wow. And most important is stock android which is very smooth.

Updated to 7.1.1 on XT 1602 a week ago. No problems. Battery life seems even better than on Marsmallow. Update included Android security patch November 1 2017. Just a few days later received and updated Android security patch January 1 2018 which is supposed to fix KRACK (WiFi) vulnerability. G4 Play is the best buy I've ever done.

Others are complaining about worse battery life. Just don't panic. Things you should do are - backup your personal data including contacts images music and more - update to nougat - after updating turn off you phone - go to recovery menu - wipe cache partition - factory reset - after reset just configure your settings and update/download your apps. Enjoy.

Got android 7.1.1 nougat update yesterday evening. Everyone who will get it don't forget to go to recovery menu and wipe cache partition and factory reset. Backup your personal data first. Overall performance is smooth. Changed some icons in app drawer. Split screen or multi window is there too.

Bell Canada variant (XT1607) here. Received the upgrade from Marshmallow (6.0.1) to Nougat (7.1.1) this morning. Build number is NPI26.48-36. The kernel was apparently built on November 14th 2017. Security patch level is now November 1, 2017.

Mine is in September security patch too. No problems at all. Everything is fine. It is charging normally. Wipe cache partition may help you. Go to recovery mode and do it now. Make sure you won't wipe data and factory reset otherwise you will lose all you data.

I think there is a bug in September security patch. after update my phone is not getting charged when it is on, it is showing charging, but not a single percent increase after hour of charging . however it is charging properly when turned off. this is happening after the update. let me know if you guys facing similar problem

Used this phone for a year. Pros Really amazing battery life, it's really efficient. Great screen. Resistant to water drops. Camera is average but very decent camera. Everything else is approved by me, for a normal user, really smooth never freezes for me. Cons GPS is pretty bad and on top of it it has no compass. No Nougat update yet, they not even gave a ETA. And other OTA Updates(security and misc) comes always late.. They promised smooth updates for all the G4's but it wasn't the case, except in Plus I think. Reason I'm changing this phone, I just bought it because it was going to get Nougat but we're almost in 2018 and not even a ETA yet. Can use custom roms for Nougat though, but stock has by far best battery life IMO.

GPS in G4 PLAy is crap. Senior who works and needs to use public transportation so have a GPS when attempting to find the work sites for those days is critical. Can rides 2-3 BUSES/TRAINS/TROLLEYS AND AN HOUR LATER and 10+ miles from the last job have a Grey Dot. I've bought it four months ago. Everything works fine till now. Performance is smooth. No lag. Screen quality is great. Battery life is excellent. If you aren't gamer it will survive two or three days. Camera quality is good enough. Overall very good phone with no bloatware.

Yes, every time I turn on Location (even from the swipe down Quick Settings) I have to go in through Settings, Location, and switch from High Accuracy to Device Only, as H-A is the default when toggling on Location. Otherwise I can't get a GPS lock. Is there a way to default to Device Only but still disable Location when I want to? (I'm on Verizon with stock device)

I haven't received an update for 7 yet. I got the phone last year in September and a few months ago it kept pushing me to do a software update. A week after I accepted the update, my phone started malfunctioning and stopped recognizing the SD card. In the forums, many people experienced this but only on Marshmallow and later and just with the moto g3, g4, g4 play, and x play. There could be other, idk. I've heard about the Moto G5 plus now corrupting SD cards. I won't get another Motorola until they can make me feel safe to use an SD card in the phone lol

My G4 Play sends all my texted 4 to 5 times. It only shows one on my screen but everyone I text receives the same text 4 to 5 times. I blamed carrier and they submitted a workorder to try and track and diagnose problem. But it never stopped. I have no idea!

Mine is XT1602 version which is dual sim. And comes with standard charger. 10 - 100% takes almost 3 hours. But battery life is good.

It's a great phone but hopeless for travel. I wanted it for trips to Melbourne when I need to use my phone for email, web search etc. But if they happen to release a system update while I'm away, my whole hotel wifi quota will get used up AND the download will fail due to piss weak connections and not enough data. The phone will keep trying to download every time I connect to free wifi. Why can't I select manual download for system updates?!!

Moto G Way better bro.. Samsung J3 has Spreadtrum processor which is absolute useless. If you really want to buy samsung go for On5 pro or On7 they are better phones then J3. Using both On5 & G4 play both are excellent, but moto's touch is much more better

Perhaps the finest phone I've ever had. Mostly after the disastrous Huawei Y3/Y360 which is the WORST phone I've ever had. My G4 play is dual sim and it works flawlessly. It is fast, reliable, the battery lasts for the entire day, it has an excellent camera and EXCELLENT phone signal which is my opinion, is the most important feature of ANY phone. There is small LED there between home and back button. Color is white but somehow moto has disanbled it in stock firmware. Light only glows while charging. For that phone needs to be rooted.Even after rooting there are various custom roms like resurrection cynogenmod are available with lots of customisations.

Great battery (three hours and a half daily usage, around 20% left in the evening; it's REMOVABLE), great performances (even with budget specs), good camera (I use it very rarely, if you are interested in it I can't help very much) and great design. I'm coming from a Moto E 2015, so I don't expect too much from my phone, but I think the user exerience is really good, with an almost stock Android OS. Unfortunately there's no gyroscope, so some Moto gestures are absent in this device, but Android 6.0.1 does his work (double clock on the power button will activate the camera). I'm still waiting for Nougat update, Moto support once said it will arrive in June, and I hope it will arrive at some point of time (otherwise it would really suck, theorically it should receive it, check out on Motorola Support site). I'm really happy with this device, I would highly recommend it. P. S.: I had a problem in my previous phone, which was overheating in normal usage. This phone doesn't do it.

Hi! Use this nice phone for 10 days. I like its performance & simplicity. The only one problem, BUT A BIG ONE, is that the battery drains in 8 ours of normal use (some calls, some musik, some net-surfing). My last phone was LG F60, but with te same usage, I recharged it once in 24 or 36 ours. I think that Motorola with Lenovo experts must think about resistance more than about the performance of device.

For me, the main point of buying a 5 inch phone is the desire for compactness. This is in fact my currently preferred size. However, this phone is a bit bulky for maximum compactness compared to the Xiaomi Redmi 3 series. The Moto is 144.4 mm long vs the Redmi 3 at 139. The Moto is 72 mm wide vs Redmi at roughly 69 mm. There are some 5.2 inch phones of similar width to the Moto and even the 5.5 inch Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is only 72 point something wide, don't know exactly, but the Moto is way too wide because of over thick bezels. Defeats the purpose if you are looking for maximum compactness.

I'm getting almost 24 hours of battery life with bluetooth off, 40% screen brightness, light web browsing, few calls, few downloads and watching some videos via wifi. As any other phone, It drains faster when using camera, GPS, 4G network, but even with heavy use I'm getting 12+ hours. The original charger with 10W takes 1h30min to 2 hours for a full charge. A few minutes plugged in a PC with the USB cable can get you more hours when unplugged. I'm very happy with it. It gets hot above the "M" logo in the back in the first 30 minutes of charging or when using the camera, but it's not something that should worry a prospective buyer. Very good battery life with Android 6.0. I use an app called Greenify to put background processes in hibernation and it definitely helps a lot. Very decent performance, no lags, in 2 months I have never needed to reset the phone because of bugs. I wish the camera had better performance and more manual controls but OpenCamera is a good alternative app. GSMArena this is my thank you for being such a great site!!

So, after putting my trust and money into iPhone 7, S7 Edge, Moto Plus 64gb I happy to f.i.n.a.l.l.y. have the phone that is just right for everyday use and doesn't make me look like a snob who is trying hard to be cool. Wow! Just picked it up for £79 on Vodafone Xmas sale and totally LOVING it. It performs well, even the camera is decent, battery life is superb and if by any shortage of luck I kill it there will be plenty of cash left to buy a new one. It isn't meant to impress but if like myself you are looking for a workhorse smartphone and not a vanity tool then this is the right one! By the way- it is basic BUT it doesn't look or feel cheap. Solid device. 10/10/10 value/performance/quality.

I have been using the G4 play for 3 weeks now and I must say I'm happy overall with this phone for the price. I'm not into gaming on my smart phone so I can't comment on that. It says my average memory usage is 1.2gb of ram, battery is lasting me entire day with moderate usage. No noticeable lag between the app's I tend to use. Only cons for me is camera not the best. Does alright outside and in good lighting. Not so great indoors or poor lighting. Flash seems to leave a very yellowish tinge on photos. Another con would be lack of led notification light, it just doesn't have one at all. Micro SD card can be formatted to be used as probable media OR formatted so can be used as device storage for app's. I thought that was worth a mention as someone on here said they could use expandable storage for installing app's.. you Can just format correctly. Speaker is front facing and plenty loud. Overall good cheap phone. Tough to say it has any drawbacks if you can get it for a cheap price.

Hello pals! I am about to buy a new phone from Amazon. I am choosing between a Motorola G4Play, this one costs $100 usd, 8MP camera, has 2gb RAM, 16gb ROM and it´s upgradeable to marshmallow Android (older). Or rather go for a Motorola G4Plus with great specs! 16 MP camera, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, upgradeable to Nougat Android (newer) for $270 usd. Or even go for a Huawei Honor 8 which is similar to the Moto G4 Plus but with less ROM (has 32gb) and a lower resolution camera 12 MP for $300 usd. I am very enthusiastic about the Moto G4 Plus considering the price and specs. However I don´t know whether or not Huawei is currently more reliable than Motorola, and it would be worth sacrificing the extra ROM and camera resolution for $30 extra.

I switched on g4play from a Xperia z3 and I think this Moto is quite impressive. Great battery life, quite good build and overall specs pretty fine for the VERY low price I've paid (149€)! Only camera is not that good compared to Xperia one, but in proper decent conditions you can get quite reasonable pics. Overall,i'm totally satisfied with my Moto!

If you use with all sensors on (Bluetooth,wifi,4g),play media intensive apps,games,movies etc your battery will be out in few hours. If you just use for simple calls,sms,emails you may last 1.5 days. Please understand, there are no set rules about how much a battery lasts. People use a phone with 2000 mAh for 2 days without any charging. And there are people who drain out a 4000 mAh battery in half a day. Depends on usage. Only you can answer this question for yourself, as you know your usage pattern. If you are not into heavy gaming and are more into basic functions of calls,sms,emails etc., I will recommend you to go for G4 play. Don't worry about fingerprint scanner. It's actually a more fancy. If you can manage with pattern pin and / or numeric pin, no need to worry about security.

GPS,GLONASS,BDS are agencies providing GPS services.they are not chips or hardware as you are requesting it's confirmation. Though it's free to access, they are under government controls. Sensors are only a chip inbuilt in mobile motherboard. These work either with assistance from your phone service provider( that is what is called A-GPS- Assisted GPS). If your phone network is weak,nobody can help. Other way of connecting is using your data services. Again if data services are weak,you will be helpless. For chip info you need to contact Motorola directly. It's a lower mid range phone and you expect to squeeze out precision features like a flagship phone. If you want to have very accurate GPS service better use a dedicated GPS device.

Yours is not a question, but you are playing mischief with gadgets. Every component of a particular instrument is calibrated to work in sync with each other , though they may be appearing same outside. And this is one of the reasons that original spares and accessories are insisted. E3 battery is calibrated to work with its 'team' and G4 play battery is calibrated to work with it's 'team'. Moment you exchange( if it works,which actually should not) the batteries,you are creating problems with working system of the respective instruments.

Instead of buying a new handset for its battery or buying other handset's battery and trying to fit in,rather buy an extra battery of handset you are using (E3 or G4 play) and keep it as standby with full charge. Go for G4 play. It will be better than E3 Power. But if you want beefy battery, then chose E3 Power. But mind you, both are basic phones, good for phone calls,messages,emails etc. Don't expect too much like games and heavy graphics application on these. When you buy any of these two, request to do the following - do not use phone while charging - do not try to download many apps at same time. Load them one by one.have patience. - prolonged usage with graphics intensive apps will result in warming of both devices. Please understand, these are not power robots, but are basic phones. - try not to cover with thick and heavy protective shells / skins. Also for faster charging and better improved battery life I suggest that we put the phone in airplane mode while charging the phone. I do remove the phone case so it won't feel like it is heating up a lot during charging. The case sort of locks up heat so it won't be good for the phone. Just a suggestion

There's a lot of reviews below just go through it. "I am personally satisfied with its overall performance even while gaming(overkill3,morden combat 5, modern strike online, mortal kombat). And in full charge the battery lasted for straight 4 hours of gameplay, to mention with VoLTE. So it easily lasted a day on normal usage too, also with VoLTE".

Also check the format of Sd card and try changing it(Fat or NTFS). Fat preferred.

Either way when the mobile detects the SD card initially it shows as portable storage. But if you want to use it as combined Internal storage, only then you will have to format, that too in the device itself. Try with some other memory card same of class 10. Just to make sure where the problem is, before a conclusion.

Yeah. We can choose our preference for voice or data on the phone. If you choose voice (default option), then data will be interrupted while on calls. If you choose Data option, then voice calls won't be possible while using data. It will be left as voice mail message if permitted. I am yet to try it as I was okay with the voice option over data. Heating up during charging will be there, turbo charging right? That's why. During calls and on 3g calls there will be slight heating near the camera. Well because of the old processor, if we play games for more than half an hour it will start heating up. And if you are playing subway surfer type games then the game interface might even become slow. It is because of the low clock speed and the processor.

Well if he plays games especially the medium and heavy games then it will hang as the processor is an old one and the clock speed is low. 2GB RAM is there. But the processor and clock speed are the main components which decide whether a phone will hang when handling complex (lots of gaming, very quick and rough multitasking) operations. For me, I've had no issues with the phone so far all thanks to God. If the person who is using the phone is facing the issues like hang/heating even though he is not playing a lot of games, then I'd say that's not normal. If you are not looking for a budget phone and want to play games on the phone, then you should opt for the higher models(which costs 10-15k) with better snapdragon processor and a clock speed of 1.5GHz or more :-)

That happens because most of phones consider earphones as hands free profile. When you remove earphones, it switches to normal profile and phone stops all apps for time till it finishes the task of profile change. That's why your music stops. This will happen with other phones too, not just Motorola. Your music will stop even when you get an incoming call or SMS. Call,SMS are primary function and music secondary function. So it's default protocol to attend primary function first.

Yes i felt so. You see, at a glance e3 power packs a lot of features for the price. Battery life of 3500mah is great and priced lower than the g4 play(1000rupees lower). But we are ignoring the processor while we are focusing on the spec offered. Also e3 power has a lower clock speed of 1 GHz. Moto g4 play has 1.2GHz clock speed. But it is a personal choice. For me I play light games and prefer the snapdragon processor to mediatek so I would choose g4 play over e3 power. I wish you make the right choice and buy the phone which suits your needs :-)

I'd personally prefer the moto g4 play over e3 power because of the processor. My brother had bought the e3 power from flipkart and I had a chance to use it. It does heat up during calls. But not too much. My brother is a light user and uses the phone for chatting browsing and calls only. Battery lasted for more than one day on WiFi. The updates will roll out faster on the e3 power and the battery life is pretty good compared to the g4 play. But in the long run, for multitasking and for playing light games I feel g4 play is the best choice. Also,the battery life of g4 play is not so bad either. If you are a light user who wants to save some money and prefer the battery, then you can go for the e3 power as it is priced a bit lower than the g4 play. I won't recommend playing heavy games on these two phones because of the processors and the low clock speed when compared to the other phones in the same price range. Hope this helps you

Battery(2800mah removable battery) lasts for more than a day on using WiFi or 3g network for me. Doesn't heat up a lot. Slight heating is there when I used 3g network for more than 3-4 hours(especially during IMO video calls, watching videos) and also during the charging. That's normal for every phone thses days and as for heating up during charging, it is turbo charging so it will heat up. My suggestion would be not to use the phone during charging. I am not a gamer but considering the fact that the processor used on the phone is a bit old, it won't perform smoothly with the heavy games. And the updates won't be available faster like the other moto phones(android N won't be available easily). Camera clarity is fine. Front cam is 5mp, not so great but okay for the selfies and as for the main camera 8mp is okay. Can't say it is great. But it is okay. If you are a camera lover, don't go for this one. Stock android as you know. So there won't be any unwanted apps which we need to uninstall. Build quality I'd not too great but it is not too bad either. Supports otg, sound quality is okay. No finger print technology. Articles in the box - moto earphones(average quality, better use some other branded earphones if you are a music lover), battery, the handset, turbo charger with the USB cable, the guide booklet. Also, this is a budget phone under 9k. We can't expect more at this price. Also, there's the moto e power on flipkart at a slightly lesser price (around 7-8k). It has a good but it uses a mediatek processor so it is your choice in the end. Whether you prefer the better snapdragon processor(even though it is a bit old) on the moto g4 play or the greater battery life of the moto e3 power. If you have any further questions, you can reply. Using this phone from last week. CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64 bit. Though the cpu is quite old but still it is being widely used in many smartphones and has enough power to carry daily task efficiently. there are chances that this device soon will be upgraded to Android 7 Nougat. It also VoLTE which means reliance Jio sim is fully supported. O.S : It is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It is stock android means no preloaded apps and bloatwares. No lag and gaming experience is also very smooth. Memory: Inbuilt memory is 16 gb(Usable is approx. 12 gb) and further expandable to 128 gb via micro sd card. But i didn't find any settings where inbuilt apps are being moved to sd card or default storage path can be selected as sd card. RAM: 2 GB more than enough for day to day task. Display: It is 5" IPS LCD display. The display quality is simply superb and it is crystal clear. Also there is glance screen but at very short period of time and you can see the messages on screen and clock even the screen is locked. Battery : Battery is 2800 mAh and it almost takes 2 hrs thanks for the 10w 2A rapid charger. Battery backup is really good even if you play heavy games or watch videos on youtube still gives one day battery backup. SIM slot : It is dual sim micro sim type and both sims supports 4G LTE. I placed my airtel 4G sim in both slots and 4G works perfectly. Also sd card is located above sim 1 slot and it is independent so there is no hybrid sim type. Also this phone also supports Full USB OTG. Call clarity is clear and there is no drop of signal or no network connectivity issues. Headphone experince is beastly but i suggest using 3rd party earphones such as Skullcandy OR JBL. Overall it is a budget android phone with clutter free android marshmallow which is fresh experience. This is my first moto smartphone and i am just enjoying it.

if u r doubting about heating problem , device get heated due to fast charging its normal because every fast charging phone gets heated .Use only the charger which is given by the company itself because its more compatible with this. Many quick charging devices face this issue. Don't use the charger given in the box. My sister is having a Moto G4 Plus and I checked the charger's current. It was 25 w. It was the reason for quick charging and phone heating. Use a low rated charger. My sis uses more than 2 chargers for phone. She never faced this issue. Try this and it might work. Cheers!

Got the 16GB/2GB version and it works faster than my previous phone (LG K10), despite of having a weaker chipset, and it's cheaper. It supports fast charging and it doesn't heat up much while charging. Battery backup is also very good, the camera is average and not very suitable for low-light conditions due to it's narrow aperture. It gets warm while playing games (casual, not demanding) or updating several apps. It didn't crashed once. Moto Display is very useful and a worthy alternative to the notification LED. Very good audio quality but I found the speaker a bit quiet. I haven't experienced network issues so far. All in all, it's a fine budget phone and it's worth buying it (for the people who's considering to buy it of course).

Man, this is not official list. Had you noticed a word 'possibly' in the article that link you provided? In the beginning of the article they clearly wrote that no update will be available for those chips which don't have Vulkan drivers. Then check how it looks for Snapdragon 410 which is used in Moto G4 Play. It has Adreno 306 GPU and entire Adreno 300 series is not supported.

It actually looks worse than a Moto G 3rd gen. 13 MP --> 8 MP Lost water resistance. GSMArena shows it doesn't have shatter resistant glass (though they did the same with the S5 Neo and it has it). It's not just about the specs.. This is pure android so you won't have any bloatwares unlike redmi or coolpad(better ram utilization plus you hardly notice any difference while using 410 or 415 chipset) . Also quality is way better than other phones you have mentioned. I don't know if the quality has decreased after lenovo acquired moto but it's a decent phone for 8499Rs.
