you can say it has duel camera.when you open camera option and frame appears then flip down the screen then also you can click the picture which appears in small outer screen. so you can say it has duel camera.

I had this excelent flip-phone soon after it was released around 2005. I can remember is an exelent phone as I still have it in my possesion but the battery is dead. Excelent times I spent along this phone which we must not forget it is a quad-band, so basically can get you almost anywhere in the world. By the time, somewhere in 2006 I was detached for couple of months in Italy, in Liguria and had this phone with me. It kept me long hours of talk time in roaming and had StreetMaps installed on this tiny phone. Thumbs up!

if u wanna 2 remove flight mode firstly off the phone ,then on it slowly . as soon as it is on touch the volume button then the options will come to display u may follow them and escape the flight mode . please tell me where will i find a new body cover , battery, charger. and i would like to format my mpx 220.

I m using MPx 220 since 20 months well i have got all the features that i have been searching...but the main problem i have been facing is the Battery which has no back up and it runes very fast but from some time back the main problem i m facing in this phone is network it give no network it keeps on searching and no service, i don't want to change my cell coz i like these cell very much...Also i have been searching to replace its battery and its housing but unfortunately i haven't been able to get it is a rare phone...can i get its battery and housing...and please suggest me how can i solve its network problem...facing lots of problem with its network...??? please suggest me.......

Hi, I have been using this MPx220 from past 30 months. I feel, one of the Motorola's best cutest phone. I was using it as my Mini Office/Briefcase. Recently my home Comp. windows crashed and I had to reinstall Moto's CD as well. After fresh installation, I could able to sync. address book with my Desktop Outlook. I had more than 5 to 6 thousand SMS stored on the phone. Not sure what I did on it. Once it asked me to restart the handset. After that, it has completely vanished all my messages and since then whenever restart the handset, no SMSs stays in any of my folders. I also noticed there is a Messaging folder consisting of 7000 fies with zero in size. Please assist me... (I came to know my Desktop was infected with many Trojans). Does this smartphone affected by any viruses? If yes, how to scan it?

Hi Risper akiyini, one thing that can be done is to reset the phone but take the back up of files in the phonew as it erases the whole phone meory .Remove the memory card if installed and switch of the phone and later on switch on the phone by pressing the select button(circular blue one) and follow the instructions it will reset the phone almost all the issues with MPX220 will be resolved .I used to own one but lost it loved this phone but reallly miss this one.

I have tried the 3125, Ming, Shadow, Tilt, sidekick, n95, iPhone, Touch, and this phone is still by far the best phone I the have ever owned. Great reception and voice quality. It seems all the smartphone makers have forgotten no matter how many features they add the most important thing is being a good phone! Had it 3 years and still the one I choose to carry in my pocket!! If Motorola added 3G, a bit more memory, and a better camera, this phone would be their savior!!

The MPX220 was a problematic phone with the original rom installed. I purchased mine in the USA and it had a variety of issues. However after extensive research on my behalf I managed to gather information and software that solved all the phone's problems.I live in South Africa now and have helped Motorola SA solve their problems with the MPX220.My phone works perfectly with no problems at all. Have this for 3 years now. The speaker malfunctions for about 6 months now, have to use speakerphone. Sometimes it can hang when there's incoming call, so it needs to be restarted maybe once every 1-3 days. Overall, this is still a quite good phone to use. Sms-ing is easy, I like the keypads. Design is also cool.

For the past 2 years I obsessed about getting this phone but up until recently the prices haven't dropped. So i finally purchased the phone! Needless to say, I wish I picked another phone to obsess over. the phone is very appealing on the out and inside and the display is very appealing as well, but the 'goodies' stop there. Horrible sound quality coupled with low max volume is a big deal to me (Although the stereo headset was quite clear and loud with WMP10 [Asian ROM]) Like all Microsoft products, to do something as simple as setting a custom ring tone you have to go through 10 somewhat unnecessary tasks (if you can even hear it ring, yes, its that bad on max volume) The camera no longer works on mine and when it did, less-than VGA images were the result of a 1.23MP camera, the flash feature is a joke. My Data/Charger port is flaky, working only when it decides to (Acclaimed to poor build quality) My screen got really glitchy to, started scrambling up and only worked when you pushed on the screen a certain way. GPRS packet data? slower than dial-up on a full-size computer make internet browsing painful. I do however like the keypad setup and the vibration feature (The most powerful vibration I've ever seen in a phone, really good for getting your attention. Over all, the phone isn't worth looking at unless someone gives it to you or you pick it up for the price of a candy bar. I'll stick with my old Nokia 3220 over this pile anyday.

I loved this phone, while it lasted. The design was simple, and at the time was the closest thing I could get to a Japanese style phone. Eventually the connections started to fail and the phone was pretty much useless. After two bad experiences with Motorola's poor build, I'll never buy one again.

I bought a Motorola MPx220,in India in June 2007, from SBI card offer. Within 2 wks the set developed some snag and the display disappeared. On contacting Motorola, they expressed inability to help, and State Bank Of India refused to help, as this model is not launched in India but is being sold officially. I warn you all,BEWARE OF THEDUEL POLICIES. IF YOU BUY IT YOU"VE HAD IT!!!

Have had this phone for 2 years, best phone I have ever owned. My trusty old mpx was getting a little beat up, so I went phone shopping. After looking at what ATT and T-Mo had to offer, I didn't find a phone I liked better. The Tmo-wing was nice, but a little bulky. The 3125 is similar, but alot more pricy. I just ordered a new mpx off ebay at a great price and didn't have to commit to a new contract. Too bad there isn't a WM5 ROM available, with the 1.49 ROM, WM 03 works perfectly. There is such a wide range of software available for this phone, even a few years after it was introduced you be hard pressed to find a clam smart phone that does it better than the mpx. I strongly suggest "Core Video Player", as it will play almost any video thown at it along with a wide range of audio formats. Other great software include "Google Maps", "Tone Setter", "CommMan", "AlarmSet", "1-Calc Lite", and the list goes on... If your into games try "6th Gear", "Kevtris", "SmarTris", "Wolfstien 3d", "Snake", "SPInvader", "SPVMan", "ChessGenius", "Smoresoft Sudoku" and many more ( all free ). Chat using AIM, Yahoo, MSN.. plus even push mail if you want to do things ala blackberry. With all the free software available for this phone, it has become my all time favorite. If only they re-release this phone with a 2+ MP camera, it would be the perfect phone. If you can find it for under $80USD new like I did, there is not a phone anywhere that packs more bang for the buck...

install xbar3, great task switch application. You won't even know it's there. You can put some shortcuts in it, switch applications, terminate apps, select text, copy, paste... It helped me a lot. I used to open 4-5 apps, so battery and memory suffered.

This is like the best phone i have eva used. used it up till a couple days ago. if u r quite careless and rugged like me i advice u get it. me n dis fone have been thru a lot, countless falls(real bad) and d oda day, believe dis or not, i was up on the 4th floor of a building n d phone fell(flip open) all d way down to d pavement. the screen cracked, and the microphone seems to be out but, i can still listen to music make calls wif a headset n do everything i always did. dis is a great durable fone i advice u get it dat is if u aint lookin for a good picture taker, cuz truly even thou this is one of the best fones around d camera sucks real bad.

to upgrade to the latest version of rom you need motorola upgrade wizard (1.8.5 is the latest version), rom you want to upgrade to (difficult to find, it took me 3 days to find 3.53 asian), usb cable. You have plenty of how-to's on the net, use google or other search engine.

ive had mine for about 2 years and altho it has had usual crashes but very little its served me great..I cant help anyone on specific problems with hardware because ive had no probs and upgrading the software wen needed has kept things going..Am using smartmovie to play avi files & have found plenty of pop vids on net for free but you hav to adjust lip sync to get it right & it comes with adjuster.The batt is exhausted so its time to get a new one sometimebut if you find one it shud do all the basics with ease

i bought mine in nov 2005 & its been a good fone,,the battery has been fine for me and any real complaints are the low volumes for me but it has served me well...Its a far cry from the spv 100/200 which froze far to much & were constantly in the cradles charging up,,the mpx220 is in a different class & it looks so stylish in black.Also with all motorolas you have to get used to there blutooth which is called beam rather than send & to send the file (beam) you copy or move rather than send coming up

Well, I have this MPx220 since April 2006 and its a very nice phone. Excellent for a business man, Internet and POP3 e-mail on the go, always only on MSN Messenger 24/7, fully synchonizable with Microsoft Outlook 2003 via cable or bluetooth. Bad issues: well once I installed a crap software and the phone started to work slow etc, so I had to format it once. The good think in formatting is that the phone auto-installs itself and all contact are in my Microsoft Outlook 2003, so just 1 synchronization and i have my phone back as it was.

Just bought this phone new off of ebay for $50USD. The first thing I did was flash to ROM v1.49. I am quite pleased with the volume and quaility of voice calls. Once you get the data setup right, it works perfectly with internet explorer and pop3 email. The mp3 player really rocks. Seamlessly works with outlook via bluetooth or IR. Plently of software to download and very customizable. Video player handles a wide variety of formts. The camera takes some registry tweaking to get decent pictures, as the settings out of the box are not very optimal. About the only complaint is I have not been able to get a 2GB SD memory card to work properly, howerver it works fine with a 1G. Battery life can be an issue if I use the mp3 player or video player alot. So far, I am extreamly impressed with this phone.

This phone it is smart...very smart..the battery life sux,after i put a 1gb card my battery life changed from 2 days to 1 one (listening mp3's with the stereo headphones) my big problem it's the plastic between the display..that think what makes a "click" sound when you open the phone,it's broken.I recommand this phone but use em' carrefourly because you will be sorry if you don't.

I do not think its a great phone. I have Airtel connection and the GPRS does not work. I am not able to ActiveSync the phone. The manual is too sketchy. I will not recommend this phone to any one. However, just as a phone, it works well.

thank you motorola for the mpx 220 i own five units. the cell phone out performs any cell phones i have ever owned. the reason i purchased so many is if i lose one i have spares. the reception out performs any cell phone that i have owned. i do not have dropped calls and the sound quality is fantasic. the bluetooth tech is great, i am using jabbra jx 10 system. thanks again for introducing this great product.

Hi guys. I have an actual question / suggestion, that many could find useful. Unlike the last 500 posts (it's the best phone in the world - it's the worst phone in the world). Has anyone tried to use a bluetooth keyboard with MPx 220 ? Like Thinkoutside's Stoweway model. Or some other (there are numerous models). It would greatly increase the efficiency for those who use their Windows Mobile for text handling. Or just showing off with a portable keyboard...

Up until a year or so after I bought this phone, it was the greatest thing in the world. Then things started to go wrong, a year and a month later, the PC uplink no longer works, the battery no longer charges, the camera does not work. The phone now also freezes up, lags (for lack of a better term) and just generally sucks. Do NOT buy this phone. 2/10

mpx220 is a great phone for those who dont do alot of work on it. it wouldn't crash or freez if you do one thing at a time. It holds miniSD (512 MB max), and i've heard ppl use up to 1GB. Its got greaty video play quality, infact I have downloaded my music videos .wmv, the quality impresses everyone. i got to say, motorola has the worst camera ever. HORRIBLE. however, better than nothing. lets not forget, mpx220 is a flip phone that can be used as a PDA & i dont think u got many choices if you want PDA as a flip phone with Windows Mobiel (to syncronize with ur pc). anyways, its a great phone but i would not use it for sendin e-mail or so.. cuz would take long time to type. but great if u wanna have as a side PDA & just check e-mails or to do little synchronize. by the way, 4 those who have battery or chargin problems!.. Motorola is known for that, so dont be surprised. Mine doesn't charge anymore & i've been using it 4 a year. I have to say, I abuse this phone, almost never turn it off & droped it many many times. Luckly i still have warranty. I hope motorola releases newer mpx with touch screen & higher Ram. Cheers

Its a pretty cool phone but I needed mines repaired after only having it 6mos. I sent it do Motorola and they told me since I live in the US and the phone was not from the US they couldnt work on it. They did tell I could buy a used phone from them I was like no thank you. So no more motorola for me

this phone is awesome. i have it for one month and it works great. i flashed it with newer and better version of rom 1.49 and now its perfect. bt, ir, mms, e-mail... wokrs with no problems. i recomed flashing it with rom 1.49 or 1.53 asian (this one has wmp10). as for reseting your phone you can do it by turning it off first and then press the blue button, hold it and then turn on the phone. you will lose all the info. hope it helps. cheers

I can confirm that email does not work with Cingular. It will work for 1 day 100%, then slowly start phazing out. Memory is bad, but the size is nice. I would not recommend it as it can not deliver on Email.

To reply to Pir Khan's question, you can actually sync your outlook adderss book and calendar items with Active sync. So after you took you phone to motorola for a reboot, you can then sync everything stored in your PC back to your Mpx220. Cheers

Hi I have bought mpx220 but it flushed off all programs often clean off my phone directly no way so save my phone like copy all phone directory to pc or save on sim card As soon as Motorola help me to reload window few times but as soon as guarantees finished the problem started they refused to reload free of charge but instead the said they need to change mother board while I knew the problem is the same I suggest any body Who want to buy window phone must claims their window Ce from dealer as well because? I�m an owner of the Motorola mpx 220 and I have one little concern. When I try to sync a video file to my phone it changes its format (I put them on my memory card). For example, if the file is mpg the format will show up as mp3 once it is synchronized to my phone, therefore I can�t play a video file if the video is mp3. I like the MPX-220 fine; it is a decent phone. It does shut off on me once in a while for no reason but maybe I hit the side button sometimes. My main problem is that I looked for this phone for a long time in Taiwan and only found a chinese version. The software is chinese! Does anyone know where I can download an english version?

About a weak ago i installed theme manager on my mpx220 smartphone but i got bored by 1 type of theme so i went to file manager and i delete it. But no my smartphone starts verry slowly up and i can't get in to Start anymore! Hello, I have this phone and I am very pleased with it. It is easy to use and quite versatile. Unfortunately the battery doesn't last very much (maximum 4 days) and it shuts down when it has two lines, it does not get to one line, or none like other phones. I am shutting down running programs with no additional software. Just go to Start-More-and go to Resource Manager. Here you can shut any programs you like or all of them.

one more thing, the camera on this phone sux. worth than 0.3m pix one, anyway, the phone support mp3 ringtong, but don't count on it, use some software on your pc to convert it to wma which almost same size as mp3 but when play it on phone, much loud than you can get with mp3, that's the bug from windows mobile 2003, not the phone. then phone's battery is not that good, after half year, you need buy a replace one, don't buy anyone from ebay, mpx is like a bmw which require much better fuels.

for closing background running program is simple, download a software call 'xbar', then install, after all, press 'blue' action key 2 seconds to active the list of all running program, then press '1' 2 seconds to close them all or you choose what to close.

its me again, got another Q: i have this phone and for some reason was just messing around with it and now when i look at the top of my main screen inside my phone, i see a "G" in a white box and some kind of icon right next to it. looks like 2 triangles in a circle. if anybod knows what this is and how to get rid of it email me. i think that icon doesnt connect with the world clock internal clock and the satelite. have to manually enter in the time instead of the time already being set and in sync with the satelite time. so please respond back thanks a bunch

Anyone got any clues how to kill programs that hang in this ******* Smart(?)phone?? My contacts and calendar simply cannot be used anymore. Problem started a couple of weeks ago... things were going just fine, syncing remotely with the works mobile server until one day I get the message that I didn't have enough memory to sync (??) I use it purely as a worktool so couldn't understand this, but deleted all I could find that I didn't need. Still wouldn't sync... same error message. Discovered I could still get my e-mails if I did a manual 'send & receive' directly from the inbox. After checking my calendar on my work PC, verified that I hadn't mistakenly inserted a file or anything that may have followed with an appointment, so I just couldn't figure why it was telling me all the time that I had insufficient memory to sync (aghhhh!! or words to that effect which I'm not allowed to write here..). Eventually realised that the programs are hanging but unlike my previous mobile calendar/smartphone (Qtek 2020) I couldn't find the task manager to kill the processes. Now I can't even access the calendar or contacts, so the phone is basically a piece of junk which I can only use if I'm lucky enough to remember one of the 100's of contacts that it previously stored for me. According to the manual you can't even reset the beast yourself, you have to send it in to the manufacturer which is just archaic in this day and age. Has anyone got a solution to this?? Plz, plz, plz.... I'm on my bended knees.....

This phone is awsome, EXCELLENT DESIGN & features! The digital camera is really clear & the flash is a big help be cos photos taken in darkish areas with out the flash on are bad! 8x digital zoom wow! & the zoom is really clear not blurry I cant stand when zoom on camera phones are unclear. Video recording=YES but not the best quality The main thing is the windows 2003 is pretty slow to do things like check your emails,explore MSN ext... The main screen is large & brigt featuring upto 65k colours with TFT contrast & the sub 4096 cstn colour screen is hard to see under sunlight but does the job & is good for snapping up self portraits. another capability that was great was a large memory capacity TOTAL=64MB phone memory & capable of taking mini SD & T-flash ccards I REALLY RECOMEND THIS SMART PHONE TO SMART PHONE USERS! There are some little cons about this phone just so you know!

I've had mine for over a year. I love it! I have updated the software from motorola's web page and asked about mini sd card capacity by email. They reply that max is 512mb but maybe that was before 1 gig cards came out. I have a 1 gig card on the way and if works I'll let you know. Had power off problems and turned out the case I was using would sometimes bind up power button.

Had this phone. Used for like half year, then a lot of problems occur... automatically reset time and restart, and later cannot transfer(with pc) or access to pictures. now cannot use to text message. not sure if it was caused by the program or electronics. listening volume extremly low. Heavy. Totally not recommanded.

I have the AT&T unlimited plan for $99, and truly would hate to give up the plan. ive had this phone for 6 months at first i thought it was great but it is really bad, it uses windows so it always crashes and needs restarting, it keeps programs running in background so it wastes memory and wont let you start new programs till you have terminated them using the task manager, it hangs up when people phone you, it takes about 5 seconds to get a voice when people do finally get through so everyone is usually saying "hello....helooo. hellooooo" and your like "what ive only just ansewered". The camera is a waste of time unless you are in bright sunlight. The video camera is of very low quality same as my last phone with is now 3 years old. (says 1mp but pic is really grainy) any camera can produce a million pixels of information but its the quality that counts. Windows has the potential to be a good operating system on phones but seriously needs updating. It like the equilelant of the first ever windows on the pc, how bad is that compared to todays win xp. as we speak i was writting a text and someone phoned and it took ages to answer and deleted mt text AGGGGHHHHHH. AND IT DOESNT HAVE INSERT WORD OPTION OR SLAG IN THE DICTIONARY AGHHH I KEEP HAVING TO SWITCH TO NONE PREDICTIVE THEN BACK AGAIN WHICH IS A CHORE IN ITS SELF. good points are buttons nice and solid easy to click if you have big fingers, its definitely a mans phone. very good processor plays games well and videos, but you need to get betaplayer downloaded no avi/divx player built in for some bizar reason, missing a trick there. has 512mb capability can store loads of games, overal opinion:: at first i loved it but now i hate it and i wish it would die so my insurance could get me something nice like the new nokia (stick with nokia)

I absolutely love this phone. I mean...if I could marry it, I would ;) Anyway, I bought the "asian" model and had some troubles setting up the configs. for cingular's internet service, but now, it works great. All of the programs, screens and features you can load into it are awesome. Since I have the asian ROM, no problems with the volume or anything else people have reported. Great phone and I would highly recommend if you're patient, computer savvy and have time to spend tweaking it and playing with it. If you're just looking for a phone to make calls and texts with...NOT the phone for you. Also, the camera is great once you adjust the white balance (well, as great as a cellphone camera can be I suppose). I just dumped my LG L1400, and I am SO glad to have gone with this phone.

For Alvaro In order to play mpeg formats on your mpx220 you need to install and adittional program on your phone. You can do that by executing the .exe file on your computer while the phone is connected to the computer. I haven't found a free version of media player with you request but there are several programs that you have to pay for, just search on the web.

I have had nothing but grief since I purchased my MPX 220 "smart"phone 2 1/2 years ago. The problems with it are endless. I'm on my 9th phone now. If it would only consistently work, I'd be very happy with it. I love the windows operating system. My current phone shuts itself off and randomly decides to have no signal. Past phones have had issues with the camera, with sound and other things. I do NOT recommend this phone to anyone.

to jim; u have to treat this phone like u treat ur computer,u have to upgrade to new ROMS if its crashing,and its better to install ur games and programs on ur memory card rather than ur internal memory! plus its windows man,even ur computer crashes from time to time or it needs restarting at least once a day,so what do u expect from a phone!? u have to restart ur phone at least once a day! and make sure that u exit any applications u opened to clear more memory! if u dont exit many programs then its possible that ur phone will crash! this is not rulez but they are precautions:) TO JOSE: about the camera,well its windows mobile that needs upgrading! till this moment there's no way to upgrade it! but hopefully in the future it can be done! in the present the only way to improve the camera at least a little,is to upgrade ur rom to newer versions!!! anyway believe me there is so much that u can do with this phone that u really wont play with the camera so much:D

Same problems as you all.. and.... Windows sucks - locks up all the time. Takes 5 minutes to boot - how can that be when windows is memory resident (no hard drive latency?) Missed calls disappears after you view them once - call history now sorts in name order not time order - can't figure out how to change this. Can't hear sh*t on this phone - how many of you also thought you were going deaf after getting this phone????? Cingular acts like you were the first person to ever have a problem with this phone. How come Ford,GM have to have recalls but a piece of sh*t like this isn't recalled? Why is there a 5 second delay from when I answer to when I can start talking and the other person can hear me???? Getting rid of this phone should drop my blood pressure by 20 points. I see now why cell companies what you to buy a 2 year contract.

to jose; the D500 makes the best photos,it may have 90mb internal memory,but the mpx has a card slot,so the memory can be extended! if u are a normal mobile user that wants a good phone that makes good pictures then take the D500 but if u want a smartphone which u can upgrade and put programs on and customize,and dont care about the camera so much then take the MPX 220!

DIVX, PacketVideo player - codecs are obviously xVid, DiVX, MPEG, windows media and many other port - it also streams media upto 384K - really fast for just a mobile phone... sometims I wonder who let this slipped out of Motorola�s hands - way too advance for its time.

I am with you on this DarkDawn - this is a wonderful phone. Impressive hardware sadly backed up by the weak windows ce operating system that cripples it to the ground but on the other hand, the device is excellent - PEOPLE LEARN TO USE THE PHONE. As a smartphone with an operating system, it is bound to crash sometimes, freeze and do whatever desktops and laptops do. It is just incredible that this type of devices are available for the general public that most times do not appreciate the talent of these engineers. - now, you need to get yourselves hands in some good software because let me tell you something - would you run your Pc without windows XP, NO!, would you do without Microst Office in any of their versions, NO! and unles you have a Mac (like me, but still using Virtual PC.. lol) you know what Im talking about. This phone needs an antivirus, photomanagement application and a real mp3 player since WMP simply plays them back, - thats all. Cingular is pulling some kind of scam. I bought the MPx220. Had all kinds of problems turning off/on, bad photos, etc. It went dead in 6 mo. Returned it and that one went dead. They told me it was still under warranty and to mail in, I did (carefully wrapped). They said it had moisture damage and charged my account $425! Nothing was ever spilled on it! They then returned the phone not even wrapped up, just thrown in a brown box with no return address! Crooks!

Boost your MP3 ringtones in your PC before you upload them to your phone - use Quicktime or Goldwave (both nice sharewares) to edit and downsample to MP3 to MONO 96K and raise the volume to 150 (in Goldwave) then save it and the file will be louder, repeat the process to make it louder. Please dont set Stereo mp3 files as ringotnes because the device joins both channels before playing them back and the volumes goes down. Use a Mono file and u will be ok.

I had an MPX200 flashed with wm2003 and the only thing missing was bluettoth and camera. now that i got it - this is mobile fun for a long long time... THE PHONE IS INCREDIBLE and yes.. try and get the verison without any provider stupidness (cingular, orange, etc) try and get the moedl straight out from motorola itself, the one in the blue box - most likely eBay will help on this - and if you have an MPX200 and have no need for camera or bluetooth just flash your phone with the new wm2003 - if you dont have i willemali it to you FREE, like 34MB though so your inbox better be big... :) - Im out friends.

this fone is awesome. I have the new black asian version so the parts and frimware is the best. I really like this phone. Recommend it but only the ones without the cingular firmare or software. Heard there are many problem with the cingular mpxs.

This phone is only good for people that have excellant hearing. The sound is terrible and I have done everything to increase the sound. Of course there was no reply from Motorola. Outside of the weak sound, the phone is somewhat complicated to use. Not recommended at any price.

I've been really wanting to have MPX220 even before because the features are very impressive. Now that I got one, I noticed that it's camera and video are not at par with its competitors. I hope they can come up with a patch or another firmware upgrade to address this soon before I decide to replace it.

For:kid_turbo Go to - File Manager - Go to the file u can't delete. Press Menu, than Properties. At the bottom you'll see that the checked attributes are Read-Only and System. Uncheck those attributes. Voilla!!!! U can now delete that file.

hi. actually i am inlove with any microsoft mobile device ever. the reason is it is so easy to synchronize with my desktop and my outlook info. also i believe the menue is easy for me. i also love any flip up phone. so with all this together MPX200 and 220 were my phones.BUT Motorola company simply sucks. and if could sue them i would. first. there is no support for people like us who own an unlocked version of it. you have to be with a carrier. if you are with Cingular then go to cigular, what the ... is this i own a motorola i dont' care what carreir paid you. all i care about is to fix my phone. If you own an Asian version like myself fonts will be a disaster, you will have to do extensive work online to get it fixed and maybe not. Why can't they simply add an option in the menue to change font? For: m.nagah.h. The only way I was able to increase the ring volume was to select "OutDoor" mode in the settings, under profiles. It should raise the volume pretty significantly. Oh by the way, if anyone knows where I can get softwear that'll help delete the pics and some ring tones that came with the phone let me know.

Well, I just bought the Moto MPx220 from ebay(hope that wasn't a big mistake) and I've read a lot of bad reviews on this site about this phone. Unfortunately I didn't read these views sooner. The good thing is I got the phone for $160.00 and the seller said if I had any problems with the phone he would give me a full refund. I hope this phone is worth the wait and $$. I'll keep everyone posted, stay tuned in the next few weeks.

I have had nothing but problems with my MPX220. I originally purchased a MPX200 a year or more ago. It started having charging problems and connectivity problems, so I sent it in to Motorola for repair and purchased the new MPX220. Not only did Motorola tell me there was nothing wrong with my MPX200, but after 3 months the MPX220 now wont hold a charge and plugging it into the charge drains the battery half the time. Due to my experience with these two Motorola phones and their lack of customer service in fixing my MPX200...I am loath to ever purchse a Motorola again.

I've had this phone for about 7 months now and the only problem i've had with it is a charging problem where something inside the phone burned out..I took it back to motorola in hk and they fixed it as well as giving me the lastest hk firmware upgrade..since then i've had no problems at although ringtones are a bit quiet and the camera isn't as good as other phones, though there are programs out there to make them louder as well as using wma seems to help a bit...it also seems like maybe there's sumthing wrong with cingular? because i've been using it in Canada with Rogers and i've had no problems

I have had this phone for about 2 months ive had it given to me i have the blk edition and love it to death wouldnt trade it for a treo 650 but da treo 710 ummmmmmmmm mayb but its a good phone n all some minior issues like sometime if you have the ringtone on high it goes on low by itself but all u have to do is just turn off your phone for about a minute and then turn it back on. i hav a sony clie ux50 but it just cant do what this motorola can do. but overall a very good phone especally if your a business person like me and hav a lot of schedules

Jeff. I had the same problem. Basically the phone would only work when plugged into the charger. I took it back to Motorola service centre and they re-flashed the ROM - apparently it was a software problem, which they seemed familiar with. The process took about an hour, but it did DESTROY ALL DATA, so make a backup of anything important. ActiveSync can be downloaded from the MS site. Try here

I�ve had it with Cingular, Motorola, and the MPX220�In theory its supposed to be an excellent phone, but in reality it fails to comply. Mine freezes up all the time, takes a long time to even look at my contacts, turns off by itself takes days off were doesn�t want to send or receive calls, would start vibrating until the battery runs out, wont display incoming or outgoing call numbers to make it short the MPX220 aims to disappoint. I called Cingular to see if I could change the phone for other make and pay the difference but was rejected. This is the 3rd phone I�m getting (2nd replacement) and I don�t know what to do. I have had this model for about 6 months now and I like it a lot. I have had occasional issues but nothing that I wouldn't expect from a Windows based device. Cingular is my provider and I get good reception. I would like to see a quicker response when browsing through the options and emails, etc. but it beats carrying my Palm with me! Good reception (partially due to the provider) and no mechanical or technical issues so far. I am in sales and I travel often, so I use it a LOT. Don't buy it for the camera though. Perfect for a good phone with email and calendaring that syncs with your Outlook.

I had the first release of this phone and really got sad with it. Now i have the latest and fixed version and averything works just the way it should. The camera get really really better. No more system breaks. Everything was fixed. If you have the older version, go right now to the motorola dealer and make the firmware upgrade. You'll be surprised. The only bad thning is that the "click" soud of the camera still can't be disabled. You can't take a pic silently. If someone knows what file to delete to disable that sound, ploease email me!!!

I just bought mine about a month ago. not too happy with it. t-mobile doesn't go very well with it. can't send mms. can't get internet. dont know how to configure it. i tried everything. camera sux. video sux even more. too dark. the power buttom got stuck on me once and it wouldn't turn on or off. i figured out how to change mp3s to ringtones, u have to move the file to applications folder under sounds.

MPX 220 is probably one of the few smart phone options you have as GSM phones that will work with Cingular Wireless. I was looking for the following features when I bought this phone. 1. Bluetooth (Head seat and Synch features) 2. Picture Camera 3. Video camera 4. MP3 player 5. External memory (Mini SD card) 6. Pocket PC 7. Quad Band international operation 8. Bluetooth and wired modems 9. Outlook synchronization Feature wise, this is a great phone. However, I would say this is one of the most unreliable phones I have ever used. I bought my first phone from Best Buy, It worked fine for less than a month and then the headset adaptor would not work. I returned it for a new one. After a couple months, the screen would not work. Exchanged it with Cingular for a new one (under 1 year warranty). 2 months later the microphone stopped working (very feeble). Exchanged it again and it worked fine for a few months. Now the microphone stopped working again. It probably is out of warranty now. Fortunately, the Bluetooth headset still works and hence I can use the phone. There are other few usability issues: � It is almost impossible to use this phone hands free when driving a car. You are lucky, if you could pick up an incoming call with a Bluetooth or wired headset before the caller cuts you off. � With a wired headset, it keeps dialing the most recent number, and we will never know. Once, it called a number almost 15 times during a 2 hour road trip!!! � The other thing is the voice dial option. Voice dial is supposed to help you when you like to use it hands free, especially when you drive. Well, good luck. MPX220 designers had done a poor job of it and it is so complicated and cumbersome to use. Most of the phones out there seems to have made this simple to use, but not MPX220 Many times this phone reminds me of an experimental project and that is what I use it for now. I do .Net Smart Phone programming with it and sometimes to connect my PDA and Laptop to internet. Great phone, great features, but useless on the street!!! I would go out with a Motorola V66 (An old phone, but very reliable) and come back and play with an MPX220!!!

Just plug your Cingular SIM into it, then you will be all mouth... :-) About speaker on the phone, it IS weak for music, but for me it's clear enough to listen to when you just calling... I think I will have to update the ROM if I can to fix this... I wonder if it still works (unlocked) after the update... Anybody knows???

Hello all, I have the motorola MPx220 (black one), and I've had the phone for over a month now. It was working fine until yesterday, I had 1 bar left on my battery, and I recieved the warning to charge my battery soon. I turned off the cell, and pluged it into the charger that came with the phone. after about 2-3 hours of charging, I tried turning on the phone but it didnt turn on. Is this a defect with the battery or the phone? can anyone pleae help me out with this. Any help will be appreciated.. Thank you.. This is by far the best phone I've ever come across. I've had this phone nearly a year and have yet to have any problems. This is my phone, my ipod and my pc all in one. Maybe not the greatest when it comes to pc for some, but for me i can transfer files to my phone from work then to my pc when i get home. So to me its great. The only problem I have, which is not really a problem but a feature im looking for in my next phone is, a2dp. The ability to listen to my mp3s through my bluetooth device. Other than that this phone can't be beat by any phone I've seen on the market in any counrty!

Yes it is true that the Keys scratch the screen.... I had 2 of these... and had nothing but trouble with the MPx220. I was really excited about this phone... but ended up getting the shaft from this phone. The keys will wreck the screen after a while. The earpiece doesnt get loud enough (and yes I had the newer version, its still not loud enough) ... the ringers are too quiet. I had tons of OS problems, and it doesnt get nearly as good of signal as any of my other phones (compared to about 6 or 7 other phones I had around the same time and since the MPx220). Stay away from this phone... it sounds awesome, but its not even close.

yupp i used to have problems with my mpx220 too like the charging problems...but after i got the latest firmware upgrade from hk that was solved...as for the ringtone problem if u use a program like goldwave u can increase the volumes of ur mp3s and if u convert ur mp3s to wma it gets a bit louder

If you haven't made your mind yet about what smartphon you'll profit most, MPx220 is definetely the very best. I know and I've heard about many poblems with the first versions of the phone, but I've got mine for a couple of weeks and NO PROBLEM AT ALL. I bought it in my country, Argentina, and it has the latest firmware update. I've had no problem so far. The sound is standard -v551 used to sound a bit louder, but this one is Ok to me. The camera is MUCH BETTER than v300/v551/v600 and v3 and more than enough to have a picture taken wit friends during a casual outinng -remember: it's just a phone. Windows Mobile capabilities are great and everyday there's new soft for Smatphone,which makes it more and more functional. MP3 player in your mobile together with a 512MB miniSD card... I can also watch THE LORD OF THE RINGS when bored or travelling! Perfect compatibility and Sync with your PC Outlook, so as to keep business updated. Besides, you can use it as a phone!!! One tip if you wanna try this mini-PC: YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT AND OPEN to new tech, it's like learning some Windows for the first time. It's just what I needed for my job and pleasure. MPX220 has some major problems. I originally purchased 2 of these and both had to be returned twice. Even after the ROM updates both phones had horrible battery life, constantly crashed, and at times would not answer. When the phone did work, the volume level is too low to hear sufficiently. The internet and MMS functions didn't work for months--and on one of the replacement handsets it started working right before the phone turned itself off and would not turn back on. This phone has been dropped by Cingular and another retailer Bestbuy. I would not recommend this phone to anyone. It does not work as promised and the updated rom does not fix the volume issues and created a further unstable environment. I have tried several windows phones and all seem to have operating problems. I would recommend buying a more proven OS rather than windows.

I'm having this phone only 2 weeks and I have to say that I am very satisfied.It crashed only once but it was my fault(I tried to open-close media player while it was in playback 10 times and it crashed the 6th time!).I 've had 18 phones the last 4 years including Symbian phones (nokia 7650,panasonic X700) and I can say that it's a good phone.Symbian phones phones maybe a little more friendly to the eye of the unexperienced user but windows have more combatility.For exemle a symbian phone can't playback a *.wmv video and windowsXP have windows movie maker that converts any type of video to *.wmv format etc.There are many factor that may cause a problem to a phone some of them is rain,water,falls etc.If water drops fall on your phone you my not notice the problem rightway...what I'm trying to say is that most of the users are not careful and after a short time when the problem is noticed thay think that this is not because of them(it's always the phone)is it? As for the batterie,I'm from Greece and TIM here has a "package" of unlimited calls to 1 number with 4.10euros a month...so i use the phone at least 2h talking a day and 1 for playing games,watching videos,pictures etc.It's batterie keeps the phone open for 36-44h.When I had nokia 7650 I couldn't keep my phone open for more than 15 hours and panasonic for 20!So I don't want to hear anything about batteries.Also I would like to notice that before it's first use the batterie MUST be charged for 24h,but how many people read the manual I'm almost certain that 90% of those who said that they had problems with the battarie didn't(and...yes,it's the phone's fault again!)! So don't complain about the phone if you are not ABSOLUTELY sure that you follow the manual and that you are careful not to let it fall. I don't wish to start a "war" between symbian and mobile windows' fans,I really enjoyed both of them and all i want to say is that this phone is VERY GOOD!(The camera is not so good,that's true,but everything else is almost perfect,for a smartphone..!) Everything i wrote above it's true and that's why i used my full name,i don't have an email yet but next time i will write it too!

I would bet some of those that are claming this is the best phone they've ever owned will be changing thier tune after a few months of use. The MPX 220 is absolutley, positively the WORST phone I've ever owned. This phone was so expensive and promised so much. Since purchasing it, I've cancelled all of the internet access and other "bells and whistles" service because NONE OF IT WORKS. This phone shuts off for no apparent reason - as a matter of fact, it just shut off now while I was writing this message...sometimes it won't take a charge, the volume is crap, now I'm having problems writing text messages...some sort of predictive text feature decided to turn itself on and I cannot figure out how to turn it off. I HATE THIS PHONE. I paid a fortune for this phone that promised everything but the kitchen sink and now I use it as a plain old phone. I should have known better - anything that runs on MS Windows is expected to have problems...

I've had this phone for a few months now and must say the camera is a joke, speakerphone is pathetic, it's not nearly loud enough other than in a quite room and already after a few months, I'm having the charging problem that everyone is complaining about. I must say the hardware build on this phone is just sad. This phone should definitely have been recalled, if Motorola puts this garbage into the market, I will definitely buy another phone from them. I've had over 10 cell phones and all performed as expected, this most defintely does not ! By the way, I did update to the 3.46 most recent rom, and have tried other ROMs as well.

nate the phone does have predictive text. It has 7 modes to entire. 1. predictive. 2 predictive all CAPS. 3. predictive sentence case. 4. non predive. 5. non predictive sentence case. 6. non predictive all CAPS. 7. numbers only. just hold down the * key to change mode and read the manual. you can download it from this site. it even remembers the last mode you were in. I wish I could set a default mode though. This is the best phone Ive had so far. I have it for 2 weeks now and none of the problems that you guys are complaining about. My sound is excellent. unlimited applications and customization. camera is crappy though and the LED flash goes off before the pic is snaped thats why the flash does not work. ringtones could be a bit louder. ring and vibrate at the same time does get my attention. I have a nintendo emulator on it running some real vintage games. I have the euro version black. O and the voice dialing speach recog sofware is good. does not work over bluetooth but you can still use your headset after you voice dial via the handset. Good phone.

The mpx220 has been nothing but problems from the first day of purchase. I bought two of them at the same time--big mistake. Both phones continuously lock-up and power themselves off. At times they ring but will not answer displaying a message "cannot answer call". Neither one had internet access and after repeated visits to the cingular store (which confirmed they were set to the proper proxy settings)it just started working. Maybe my area didn't have the service. The volume of the phones is so low you cannot hear a conversation. I have exchanged them twice for replacements and am now awaiting another warranty exchange replacement for both of them. I would not reccomend buying this phone. It cost too much and it appears to have factory defects in design and programing.

Seriously...every time I pick up my phone I should be checking to see if someone has tried to contact me. I shouldn't be checking to see if the damn thing is still turned on. And if it isn't I shouldn't have to jerk out the battery and put it back in to get it to boot. And since I'm on the subject of "things I should expect from my expensive cell phone"... I shouldn't have to worry about the date resetting to 1/1/2004 two three times a day. I shouldn't have to worry about answering a call and having the sound be almost inaudible forcing me to reboot the phone. I shouldn't have to worry about my phone randomly decide it can't find service when I can see the damn tower out my window. Tech savy...please...let's see what you would do if your computer randomly shut down and you could only boot it up by pulling out the power source and putting it back in. To sum things up...don't get the phone. Motorolla has pulled the rom update down so if you don't have the latest version (like myself) you're screwed. I get no response from them so it looks like I'm going to have to take the hit. I'm going to wait a little longer to see if they release anything because this phone has great potential but I can only deal with these "bugs" for so long. Hmmmmmm...did I use the term "bugs" correctly steve?

I have just started having problems with my MPx220. The call volume is too low. It freezes up from time to time. The new problem is that it just shuts off on it's own!!! Battery life is not that great either. Also, they do not make a belt clip for the phone.

Well ayomoses, obviously there are not only sh_t mobile phone producers but also sh_it mobile phone users. I had my share of phones better yet user interfaces (Nokia, Nokia S60, Motorola, Motorola WM2003,...) and cannot understand people lamenting about the UI of Motorola. Only one comment here: RTFM before you try to use your phone or at least get informed before buying one and stop bothering other people. -- regards

I have never had so many problems with a cellular phone in my entire life. Going onto my third MPX220, first one froze up permanently, sent me another one. Second one I lost and the only reason I am getting a third one is because it is the cheapest option. It freezes constantly, turns off by itself, slow programs, sound is low. short battery, flash doesn't do the job, lot of light to take pictures... and when you are in the middle of a phone call and call waiting goes up when somebody else is calling you, it freezes up and you can't answer the other line. Worst phone ever purchased!!! I plan to move onto a different company far from Motorola once I save the money.

i love this phone. currently i'm in Jamaica and everyone out here loves it. the only problems that i'm having though is the fact that it's difficult to get the internet connected onto the network out here. The video camera is smashing but the picture quality of the camera itself is somewhat poor. Aside from that i gladly recommend that everyone gets one.

Love my phone!! Have had absolutely no problems so far (been over a month). Amazing features, but the only reason i got it was b/c of the mp3 player which is great. Can play music for about 8 hours before the battery dies. I bought the 1 gig miniSD but was only able to load about 520 mb does anyone know why? Any help would be appreciated!

I love this phone overall... As for a camera, not so great with Firmware 1.30... As for a MP3 player IT ROCKS in stereo... The audio problems others are experiencing, I have had few. Any phone, computer, etc. can use a reboot every now and then. Again overall an excellent value @ 169.00 with a free bluetooth HS850 + month of service credit for audio inconvenience until firmware 1.43 is flashed. I am writing this review on it... I love the GPRS modem pass through feature. A GREAT PHONE!!!

This is the best phone I have ever owned. Brilliant phone. My only complaints. Would like a louder speaker when playing mp3 from medai player. Cannot use voice dial from bluetooth headset. (Headset was included in the box :)) 1 second delay when accepting calls. No note app. Camera isn't very clear. (not to bothered by this though)

I purchased a mpx220 in Jan 05 from a cingular corp store with a 2 year program. 3 months later the software became defective and cingular agreed to replace the phone under a warrenty program.Was suppose to ship within 24 hours if i paid $8.00 which i agreed. 30 days latter no phone ever sent, status per cingular web site is In Process, repeated phone efforts revealed a backorder status, all cingular stores pulled from shelves and are not sellimg.Repeated efforts to contact cingular were unsuccessful. I have a $400.00 defective phone, a new $200.00 lesser phone which i critically needed for business and Cingular will provide no honest or accurate info as to what is going on. This is a relatively easy isuse to resolve or certainly improve with customers and cingular has failed miserably. I would like to find a phone co who values customers

My mpx220 is garbage. It maybe due to the fact that I bought it through ebay brand new but I expected it to be flawless. The phone dose not except text messages and slows down when I receive a voicemail. Other than those major defects the phones is awesome when functioning properly. In addition the battery life sucks. don�t buy from ebay.

We have two MPX220, my wife and I. Purchased them in January 2005 with Cingular. While the phones aren't perfect, we must have been lucky because we do not experience any major problem. Mine is loaded with software and does everything I expected. Sounds is not great but not bad either, the camera is OK for a cell phone camera and reception is a little less good than with another phone we have with Cingular but still OK. I am on the web close to 5 hours a week with the MPX220 plus I use it as an emergency modem while on the road. I transfer data with it from my office to home and laptop just like a USB hardrive (I have a 512 MB miniSD card. It syncs with 2 computers flawlessly. I wish Linux would come out with a mobile OS and put that on the MPX220. All together, it's a great phone. I don't doubt that others had real problems but we don't. PS: Cingular tech. support stinks but that's another story.

The MPX220 is very low quality phone. I am one my second one in 3 months, after slow service from Cingular phone returns. Both phones have very low volume and always requires the separate handset for the other person to hear. Additionaly I have to remove and replace the battery and reboot as the interface locks up regulary. My colleague at work bought one and has same volume problem.

Mpx220 can use so many softwares, but if you do not know how to use them, I suggest you to buy other phones instead of this smartphone. it is so upgradable. You can add in new functions almost everyweek by downloading from internet because so many softwares are coming out for SP. I am using e680 right now. My phone is pretty much just for entertainment compare to my girlfriend's 220. Talking about future upgrading, I prefer 220 than e680.

this phone is a smartphone, it is backup by microsoft which means new roms are coming out so fast. My girlfriend bought one. I just upgraded it to Rom 1.32. Now the sound quanlity is improved, also is the stability.

Murillo, 65k screen. Mandy- Starting with the screen, I was quite impressed when I first got the phone. It is beautiful and clear, however, some shades of black can cause some pretty weird reflections. The sound quality is low... I've reasoned that if you hold the phone just slightly to the side of you ear [as opposed to the center of the phone aligned with the center of your ear] it sounds great. The build of the phone appears low; it can make creaking noises when you move the hinge. It also clicks when you open and close it, which I don't mind, but it could bother people. I do think the phone is pretty strong, though, as I've dropped it several times. Battery life isn't too bad. I've moderately used it for three days without charge. Of course, I listened to music on an eight hour flight once almost non-stop and almost killed the battery there. Great reception. I'm happy. Just wish I had the black version instead of the silver version!

I had this phone for 2 months now, and it is not a good quality phone. The sound quality is very poor and requires pressing the phone to your ear just to hear. The features on the phone are great and work well. However, the sound quality is enough to resist purchasing phone.

MPX200 Pulled From Shelves, AGAIN. Six months after the Best Buy debut, the recall, and then the re-release and release in Cingular stores, Cingular has pulled the MPX220 from shelves. I have been waiting to buy the MPX220 FOREVER now. I was at the Cingular store yesterday to hear that now Cingular has pulled the device from its shelves and Motorola has officially recalled it AGAIN!?! Don't have many details, however, I did gather that Cingular customers with the MPX220 having issues can replace the phone with the V551 however they will not be able to replace the V551 with the re-released MPX220 when Motorola ships it out with yet another firmware and hardware upgrade. The V600, the MPX220 pulled from Cingular's shelves. I have many friends with the V551 who have daily problems. There is also an active recall on the V180 series for faulty from screens. Class action lawsuit in Ohio over the never addressed problems with V60 antenae. There was also another Motorola phone that never even hit shelves at Cingular even though Cingular had included it in their advertising post-merger, the pop-up keyboard, messaging device. So the question is... What's up at Moto?

After reading all those reviews about this phone, I've decided to put in my 2 cents. I have owned this phone for 6 months now, and it's a love-hate relationship with it. I am on my 4th MPx220. The first one lasted me 2 weeks, then the phone starts acting up (I wouldn't be able to pick up 20% of the incoming calls because the buttons didn't respond when pressed). The second one 1 day, because it can't even be charged. After 15 hours of charging, it turns on, and shuts off by itself. When it does turn on with the power cord attached, it can't read the SIM card. Even the charging port at the bottom of the phone came loose. The third worked great for 2 days, then volume went down to very low regardless of the setting, battery compartment lid came off really easily, then the same problem that happened on the previous phone happened again: the power shuts off by itself and would not turn back on at all again, ever. This last one is working fine, and after 6 months, it still does not have ANY of the previous problems. My conclusion after my own experience, and after reading all of your comments: 1) The phone feature is really nice. Reception, convenience, performance all rank up there with the best I've had WHEN IT IS WORKING. That's the "love" part of the relationship. When the phone is working, it is really incredible. 2) With the right software (ie. Repligo, etc), this phone can become pretty productive. More so than regular cell phones I've had. Again, the "love" part. 3) The manufacturing quality control is not only flimsy, it is probably the worst I've ever seen in any production. In my own unscientific experience, 75% of the MPx220 phone I've used had some sort of defect. 50% of the the MPx220 phone had "fatal" quality flaws where these flaws render the phone completely useless (if one can't even turn on the phone and keep it on, the phone, regardless of how many cool features it has, is still useless). That's the "hate" portion. When I read the surveys here, it confirmed my own suspicions. It seems that 50% of the users here are complaining about some manufacturing defect or another (ie. some says the speaker volume is too low, some says it's perfect; some says the phone hangs, while others never observe such occurrence; some swears by its high quality, and some simply swears at it. 4) Tech savviness has nothing to do with it either. I have experienced many of the same problems described in this forum, and those fatal flaws seems to be hardware, not softwared related. As I said, this is a "love-hate" relationship for me. For the features and the applications offered by this phone, I am perfectly willing to accept a few dropped incoming calls (even with all the bars there, as shared by some of the complaints here). A good trade off. And when it works, I absolutely love this phone. But, for the first 3 weeks, I was really hating the phone when the first 3 units I've gotten all turned out to be defective. But now, 6 months after the last one, everything seems to be ok now.

100% garbage!!!! Im going on my 3rd replacement. Here are the issues: 1. Powers down & will not boot back up 2. Time & date consistantly reset 3. No service when there really is 4. Go into the settings menu and it boots you out back to the home screen, therefore making changes to setting impossible. 5. Camera is poor quality. TO the gentelman who said we arent "Tech Savy". Well guess what, I am an its still garbage, Big rush botch job to get this phone to market. Highly reccommend not getting this phone!!! Good concept and great features, but if it doesnt work reliably on a consistant basis, who needs it.

I just got the mpx220, had it for 2 weeks, and now it turned itself off and won't turn on again. It is not due to the battery. I did a master reset which clears out all of your settings :( Spent an hour getting it set back and the next day it has a black screen again and when turned on gets stuck with the M logo. Sadness. Just after I took out my hands free car kit for my Nokia too. Cingular said the only fix is to replace it, but they don't have any in stock. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyone know what to do about it? Also Sound quality is bad. Also sometimes people call and can hear for a second and it cuts out. Restarting the phone seems to fix it. But it takes at least 90 seconds to go through its restart. Good thing I don't need the phone in an emergency.... Very dissappointed. Bluetooth ear piece is also to quiet, can't hear in a quiet car over 30 miles an hour.

This phone really has it all, but when it comes to construction quality and implementing of software it obviously was severely retarded. The construction was had a loose lid that can be slid left to right on the hinge. Back light for the keypad is uneven and the right side is unlit. Windows sure has great software, however load too much software and even answering a call will take time to register and for the actual answer screen to load up. My circuit board failed and was unable to charge or sync this phone. After 1 week I was 12th in line for replacing circuit board. The Motorola service centre hardly lacks faulty mpx220. BTW I never thought there will ever be a blue screen of death on a mobile but I have received one. This phone sucks.

I have obtained a copy of a Cingular internal memo released April 9th on SOUND QUALITY ISSUES relating to current software versions 0.325/0.342/1.30 (Cingular) and 0.343/1.03 (AT&T). I have ver 1.30 and am experiencing these sound quality issues. Highlights of the memo: ** Motorola/Cingular is aware of voice quality issues "which have inflated the return rate for an otherwise solid handset" and are working on a software fix that will supersede above versions. ** The software fix is scheduled to be released "late May 2005." ** Memo mentions a free Moto Bluetooth Headset "to lessen the inconvenience of their audio troubles" but isn't very clear on how to get this. Apparently this is from Moto and not from Cingular/AT&T. ** Also advises registering at www.motorola.com/us/mpx220 to be advised by email when the new update is released and how you may get it. While at the site I recommend you click the 'Contact Us' link and file any gripes with Motorola. ** According to the memo the update can be done via a provided online software update tool, or users can send in their phones for an exchange. I guess more details will be available when the software upgrade is actually released late May. ** As a last resort those who are unwilling to wait for the software release may swap their MPX220 for the V551. This is a permanent swap and not retroactive when the new software fix is released and "the customer will also be credited for the one year contract price of the MPX220" -- whatever that means. That's all in the memo. Personally I'm going to hang onto my MPX220 and hope the software update fixes the issues since this a a great full featured SMARTphone. If not I'll still be within the 1-yr warranty period and will consider other options then. In the meantime I'll put up with this reception/poor sound crap and hopefully get a free bluetooth headset. If only Moto can fix all these issues this would be one of the best SMARTphones in the market today. Good luck people.

And just a follow-up comment for the people complaining about the camera.....Go buy a freakin' digital camera if that's what you are trying to do. It is a phone first, and definitely a camera last. If you want nice pictures go buy a Nikon or a Sony.

After reading several posts about this phone and people saying it sucks, all I can say is you aren't "Tech Savy". This phone is like a mini-computer. If you don't want to learn how to use it or learn how to deal with issues like your home PC, then I can see why a lot of you say it sucks. It just amazes me how many people are so unwilling to learn how to use or put up with their devices. I'm sure most will agree that a computer can be quite difficult at times, and we've all learned how to deal and fix most issues. Why is it so difficult for you to do the same with a phone? I've had this device for just over a week now and I'll tell you that while it isn't perfect, it's damn close. There are so many things that you can do with this phone if you're willing to learn. I've been listening to MP3's, streaming FM/Shoutcast radio stations, getting my corportate e-mail, browsing the web, and by all means, using it as a phone! I've updated the ROM, made and copied new Home screens, couldn't be happier. Is this phone for the technically challanged? No. So my advice is if you aren't "tech savy" then by a simple phone and enjoy it, but don't knock such a sophisticated device, because it works if you know how to use it.

Guys, sometimes i am amazed with the stupidity in some of the posts. Concerning smartphones, getting used to windows mobile takes some time. Concerning the quality of the pictures. Most of the cell phone cameras share the same hardware, as far as i remember, samsung are one of the biggest cell phone cameras. It's all about the software, install some different camera software and set it up your way. I have mpx200 with windows 2003 mobile, it overclocks the cpu causing it to get warm quite faster than before, but it's not a huge problem. The bluetooth issue is quite a problem to worry about, but it matters what do you try to synchronize it with, for instance E398 synced with 6230 is quite fast, but try to sync it with an old laptop or a regular Ericsson like K700 using one of the first protocols, it's a pain. Smartphones will always be a problem for the regular user. Most of the people using smartphones have no idea that applications running in the background drain the battery, use memory and cause the phone to hang at times, depending on the software running, there are specific websites that can easily be found using any search engine. Lots of guys dump roms and solve specific issues. So my advice is if you cannot use a smartphone don't buy it, I agree that it looks pretty fancy putting a nude girl on the desktop, but hey... buy a nokia and stop writing crap bout moto, they use the latest tech in cell phone industry and make probably the best phones on the market!

This phone isnt worth the price. Simple. I currently own the phone and will now be selling it. The camera doesnt deserve to be called a megapixel camera. The phone is slow at times. The flash is completely pointless because it doesnt work. If you use the phone actively the battery dies in a day. The bluetooth sucks. Night mode on the camera works better in the day. My 6230 takes better pics. It has shut off randomly before. I could go on and on. I wouldn't buy. Motorola could have done much better.

i have both...v878 is a solid phone. Not much feature, but very solid. Light and small. Mpx220 is a bit to get use to. Not a perfect phone but lots a features, lots of work needed.

I've had my MPX220 for three months and my opinion has improved with experience to now I am failry pleased. The speedial feature will eliminate much of the multiple keying that some have complained about. I find that it syncs perfectly with my version of Outlook. Still having some reception problems, but will check with Cingular about that.

Don't expect the bluetooth to work very well. It does not work correctly with ActiveSync, it cannot be trained with the 98500H car kit (no matter what Motorola tells you)--it will be too late if you spend $150 to install it. Support from Motorola is pretty sad. I spent 20 hours on the phone to no avail. Some said it would "certainly" work--a few said no. I replaced the phone with identical results. There is something wrong with the bluetooth stack.

UPDATE on reception -- I posted a comment on a reception about 4 messages down. The reception problem is FIXED. I went to Cingular, they took out my SIM card and flashed it. Now reception is very good even in elevators and indoors, on par with my other Nokia phone. Looks like the reception issue is a Cingular one and not Motorola. Try it and see if you have similar results.

I'm having my 4th replacement being mailed to me in the 4 mos I've had it. MMS was screwed up, v-mail system locked up, and now call history won't work/update. Had to reboot the phone at least 10 times already. Camera quality is terrible - you have to take pics in bright light to see anything - even using the flash. Also the blue keypad light stays on only 3 seconds & can't adjust that (per Moto), so you dial in the dark blindly. The speakerphone hangsup if you close it to use it and Motorola says it's made that way. Speaker quality is terrible and distorts if over 40% volume level. I can't be any more dissatisfied with this phone. I wish I could get rid of it.

My phone is about 2 wks old. I got fooled by all the features, good looks...etc. The reception sucks and so does the speakerphone. My 3 year old Nokia 3100 basic candyphone (still active with Cingular) has great reception and a healthier speakerphone. Will be visiting Cingular this afternoon to see what they can do with the MPX220. Hopefully Motorola will come out with a flash download to fix this problem. If they can at least fix the reception problem it would make this phone a GREAT phone. Next time I will select a phone first based on RECEPTION ....not on looks/features. After all what good is a mobile phone if reception is spotty, and keeps cutting in and out????

This phone is really good. I can use internet through the phone and even see some live videos online. The music volume is loud and the operating system works very well. For those mpx220 users,just adjust your volume to the maximum and you can hear your songs very clearly.

Love hate thing with this phone. Had the first one replaced due to download problems, then Internet connection problems, then the phone would not even turn on. Now on the second one. Will see how it goes for the next week or two. If not any better, will return it and go with some other manufacturer. For what these cost,and the features it provides, someone at Motorola and someone else at Microsoft REALLY need to re-examine this product. I cannot believe quality control would let this thing out with so many bugs. The ActiveSync sucks by the way.

For those who has volume problem, I have an suggestion to give. Try removing the clear plastic protection in front that covers the speaker (I know a lot of people don't like to remove it, so as myself). The sound is clear enough for me since. I just tried it yesterday. Hopefully it helps & plz post your result. :)

Got this phone from HK around 1 month ago. I must say, this phone is very handy to have for someone like me, despite not being a businessman. Ok, I'm a engineering student that has always grown up with computers, but this phone isn't really all that hard to use - a mobile very familiar to windows users and ActiveSync is smoother than any other GSM-PC connectivity Unlike the V3 (the only motorola comparable to this phone), this cheaper alternative gives me the ease of wacking mp3s, uni timetables, assignments, lecture slides as fast as usbflash; updating my day's plan on outlook, running out the door organised; beaming solutions to my friends with infra-red; and (when i get it) i can use a bluetooth keyboard to type up notes in class without carrying around a laptop! Unfortunately for Australian techies born with the silver spoon, mpx220 is not avaliable in town. I guess that's why I see a few of thee in lectures leaving the V3 on the table to show off bling. It might be 15g lighter, but that 15g seperates an eye-candy from a truely practical moto product.

camera quality on this is very fuzzy and for a 1.3mp camera that is crap. i am getting a sony ericsson k750 as a phone for the compact size, 2mp camera and fm radio and i will get an archos pma400 as a pocket sized computer device which linux, touchscreen, can record from tv, wifi, 30gb hdd and lots of other stuff like pc games, emulators, movies, music, internet etc.

This phone is terrible. I bought it in January and just returned it. It would make a blender sound every five minutes or so and drop the call. The volume was so low it was unuseable both in speakerphone mode and the handset mode. I bought a motorola blue tooth car adapter that had the MPX220 listed on the box...but they are not compatible. For the $180 for the car bluetooth adapter I got a speakerphone with too low a volume. I am so pissed at motorola I can not contain it! This company has gone to Shit! I had so much trouble with customer service. I will never buy one again. This phone was a great idea, but poorly implemented!

I love this phone...... for the most part. As everyone has stated the volume sucks on this phone. The other problem that I have with this phone is while I am on the phone talking and I get a voicemail/text message it plays the tune and vibrates in my ear. Anyone know of a fix for this?? That is really fricking annoying!

I had problem with the ringtone at first. I went back to the shop and they suggested to download this Goldwave program where i can edit my songs and adjust the volume on it before you upload it to your phone. IT works out fine after that.

ive been monitoring this phone for a few weeks now, but so far some of the problems mentioned on this site has not surfaced. i bought this phone unlocked off of ebay, maybe its cingular and att phones that are doing it? the volume on the speakerphone works very well along with the ringtone... the volume and clarity of the mp3 player is unbelievable... however the problems that i have experienced seem to come from the OS itself. it freezes and did weird things when i first got it then i was about to agree with the users online when i started playing around with the settings, i freed up some more ram by turning off the system tray that runs at the top of the "today's screen" and my phone has not froze on me since. I do honestly believe that the problems orginate from the OS itself because the phone seems very durable... freaking MICROSOFT needs to check their shit before promoting anything.... i have to also say that i agree with the lackness of the battery life because the phone will run out on you if you use it really heavily, the battery will last a few days, however, if only calls are made. i give this phone a thumbs up for functionality and organization.....

I have been thinking of buying the MPX220, but its not yet released in the UK and maybe some of the problems with be soted when it does. I already have a pocket pc and would not buy this phone to replace it, just to use in conjuction with, as the pda with BT and WiFi is really fast at 400 meg. Not too worried about a camera, have never expected too much from a camera phone anyway and I'm sure its better than my Sony Z600. Bluetooth works great on the Z600 as well as volume levels, so would like these items to work on par. One thing I hate when buying a new phone is having to re enter my contacts. Active sync should solve this problem. I have owned a few Ipaqs and these have had some problems, but I have always sorted them out. Pocket pc's have been around for a long time and have impoved cosiderably, smartphones only a short time, so should improve with time.

On my third day now with the MPx220. As an organizer, it works wonders. Although I've had issues with activesync thrashing my ost and pst files, the issues were remedied, and all was well. As a phone, this thing is RIDICULOUS. So many times I've had to resort to using a land line, or borrowing someone's V220. Dialing out is always an adventure, the sound is so lacking, the quality of the sound reminds me of the cell phones of the 1990s, using a bluetooth earpiece will oftentimes shock you with a piercing feedback or buzzing noise, outgoing or incoming calls -- if you're lucky enough to connect -- takes 3-4 seconds to engage, so you're saying "hello, hello" like an idiot (recall the old verizon commercials), and I could go on an on. This whole experience reminds me of those unbelievably horendous days with Pacific Bell PCS. I left them at that time, and now I am really regretting that I have given Cingular a second chance at my business. Looks like I will be contacting TMobile or Verizon or heck even go back to Nextel with their stone-age phones...which at least worked.

I'm wondering if all these problems with the MPx220 is all resolvable? The phone itself has a lot of potential, it's just the most important parts of it seem to be lacking. Everybody knows what I'm talking about; the audio! Also, if you turn the Bluetooth off and leave it off, you can squeeze an extra day out of the battery... maybe.

MPX220 sound quality is horrid. I have firmware 1.30.0.0 Cingular in California Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14315.1.1.2) I have gone thru two MPX220's and both are very poor in sound quality. I have to watch it while driving to catch any calls. And when I do I have to pull over, roll up the windows and have everyone be real quite so I can hear the other party. Its un resolvable even with "hacks"! and Motorla tech/ Service/ Wrranty help is a nightmare!

I've had this phone now for about a week and so far, it's a love/hate relationship. The phone's audio quality is something that could use some improvement. I had a Nextel I95cl before; the speakerphone/earpiece volume on these were so loud that you could wake the dead! The volume and speakerphone even when set to Outdoor seemed under-powered. The upside is volume through my Jabra Bluetooth was fairly loud with some "cracklink" in the backround. Picture quality for the 1.3MP camera is a joke. Music coming out of the speaker phone sounds all right, but were back at the audio problem again. No lockups since, but considering this is Windows Mobile, it's all a matter of time. Not bad considering I got the phone brand new with the Cingular box for about $100.

How can you tell if you got the 2nd edition of the phone or the 1st one that was recalled? The volume on my MPx220 is a little low, but not too low. Yeah, the camera isn't that good with a lot of noise. Oh yeah, if I do have the recalled version, can I trade it in for the new version?

i have had the mpx220 for about 2 weeks now and the biggest problem is the volume. Even with it turned to outdoor the loudest setting it is still 2 low. I like the mp3 player and the web browsing but if you get it and get media net get media net unlimited because i had 2MB and after 1 week of browsing cingular said i went over my browsing limit by 5000 kbs and its gonna cost $25. My activesync doesnt work properly but i can still put files on my phone from the pc. The camera is good to me since i dont expect a camera phone to work like a digital camera.

Cons: 1)Poor Camera Quality 2)Low Speakerphone 3) Phone Speakers have some kind of scratchy sound even if they are not turned too high. * The question for any interested buyer is "Are you looking for a PDA/phone or PHONE/pda..." The Mpx220 is an eligble candidate for the second part of the question.

I have the att brand with .343 Rom. I heard that its is the same version of updated Rom as cingular 1.3 . The volume during call is still low and have lot of noise. It feels like the speaker is not able to handle high volume. The ringing volume is also disappointment. Camera is better then V220 and other low quality cell phones but if you campare it with equal quality brands then its a disappointment. The back light of color screen is very bright and the black color gets fade out and looks very cristalise. I had MPX200 and if i campare both of them then i will chose MPX200 over MPX220.

i love this phone, its great... the ONLY problems ive ever found with it all have to do with bluetooth... 1) while using a bluetooth headset you hear a little bit of noises on your side, if you can ignore them, great for you! 2) it takes about 6-8 seconds to connect the headset each time, some other phones take 1 second (ie v551 for example) 3) person on other side says they hear a small echo of themself while using a bluetooth headset 4) voice activation doesnt work over a bluetooth headset i have tried all this with mutliple different bluetooth headsets on this phone, it has to do with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack, it needs some updating... its not the headsets fault.

hey Odin yes the internal screen is 65k but there is an option to get it to 256k instead and the external screen is only 4k not 65k sadly. hope this helped.

I bought a MPX220 in hk its stable, i dont think theres much problems about it i think the disadvantages of it are its weight and camera quality! the reason i picked this phone is because you can do so much things to it that you cant to other phones also i suggest you get a 512mb mini SD card if your gonna store mp3's and clips! GO the MPX220!!!!! 4 LIFE!!!!!

I bought two at bestbuy for 350 each but with 300 dollar rebates plus 25 dollar gift cards. Net cost per phone including tax 50 bucks. But the phone is so bad I will be returning it nonetheless. I was hoping bestbuy would sell the updated ones with the 1.3 firmware so I could see if I could stand it. Hey for 50 bucks it would have to be pretty bad to return it. But bestbuy still doesn't have any in and my 30 day Cingular return will expire. I am considering keeping the phones and hoping for an upgrade and if not turning them around for a profit on ebay. Ironically this post reduces the market value if read and believed. My wife is begging for her old, no frills phone back. At least it was reliable. Specifically: Needs rebooting every few days. The bluetooth range sucks and without voice dial its a waste. You have to disable pic caller ID to see a full phone number on the ext screen (so when you want to reject based on the number you can't even read it). When rebooting that becomes active again. My keys lock up and I need to reboot. The wired headset has an annoying buzz (not the headsets fault) and callers on the other end hear me fading in and out (reported by other users as well). My external monitor freezes one consuming battery. Sometimes it comes on and off on its owm. The volume buttons are sooo annoying. Just touching the phone activates it and replaces the home screen with the volume screen which always requires a key stroke to clear. There are no good cases for the phone. Adjusting the ringer volume requires many keystrokes. The manual doesn't even tell you how to do it. The list goes on.

I have been using the MPx220 for over a month now. I have mixed feelings. I love the OS and the rich application base to download from. I bought the phone to combine my two devices. Having been a Palm user for 5 or 6 years, it is defiantly a change of interaction. I do like the MS Smartphone OS, but wish it could be customized to a greater degree. As far as the phone goes I would have to agree with the forum � there are sound issues (but workable), the camera is not that great (but whatever), the battery life can annoying. I suspect that the side volume controllers have an issue to this; it may turn the screen on chewing up power if left hanging against something. I also had same issue with the Palm Zire�s 71 navigation stick. Overall I love the phone and have started to look at developing apps to play around with. The phone has drawbacks, but for the price to feature set � I would recommend it with a keen eye to Motorola�s next addition.

I just received an offer from my cellular company in brazil (tim) paying just U$3,00/month to use mpx220 in a contract of 2 years. I was very happy about the phone I will receive (it's not delivered yet) but now I'm not so sure about that. Bought two MPx220's on sale at Best Buy. Tried them for one week and returned both. They performed well for signal, and downloading Contacts. Voice recognition worked well, except for the extremely low volume of the "confirmations voice". Experienced problems with the camera (low quality), batteries (short life), low volume of speaker, and extra steps required to turn the speaker on. The basic design is great: feels sleek and solid, goes click when closing, and great button feeling, especially when navigating. Overall, I think Motorola needs at least another six months to get it right then I will try again.

Are you kidding me??!! I can't believe I waited patiently for this phone just to be completely dissappointed. The reception is absolutely the WORST I've ever experienced with a cell phone! I have a 3 year old Nokia that gets MUCH better reception than the MPx220. Side by side the Nokia has 5 bars to the Motorola's 1 or 2 (if I'm lucky). And I haven't had this many dropped calls since my analog phone 10 years ago. The camera blows with no redeeming quality and the phone is charging longer than it's in my hands. What gives? How could Motorola make such a huge mistake? I like the Smartphone capabilities (which is the ONLY reason I purchased the Motorola instead of another Nokia). If Nokia comes out with a Smartphone instead of supporting Symbian, I'm chucking the MPx220 and Nokia will have a customer for life. No joke. I hope somebody from Motorola reads these posts. Here is the problem with the camera. CMOS camera sensor used in motorola phones is cheap to make and the advantage is that it does not require a lot of power to work, thus saving battery life. The disadvantage is that is too new of a technology and is not as advanced as CCD. Cheap + Low Tech = Crap Ass camera. CCD camera sensors like the ones used in the Sony Ericcson S710 produce awesome pictures, but look at the size of it compared to the MPX220. Motorola should redesigned the phone. The MS monopoly, dominant branch into mobile technology OS, alone, uses a lot of battery juice, hence the low battery life. Imagine if you add a CCD sensor to the mogul, want-to-dominate-everything, operating system, you probably have a talktime of 10 minutes. All in all, MS Mobile is a rush-job, incomplete system just like all the MS products. People will report the problems and then MS will fix them. Guess what You are doing their QA for free. So keep raving about it, make them millions while not getting anything in return.

MPX220, was recalled from Cingular/Best Buy because the speaker volume was not loud enough, new manufact. version firmware 0.342.0.0 (can be found at start-settings-about scroll down screen)seems to have helped. Still problems with bluetooth and activesync.

Obviously people that rave about this phone just got off the TDMA wagon and havent seen other phones and the quality they bring. I had an NEC 525 and the picture quality was just as bad as the MPx220. The v400 has better picture quality than the 220. I guess for you people, anything new is good enough even with all their flaws. I guess that's why Japan has the best technology, because people like you dont live there.

A great deal for $400. I got one of the newer black models (not one of the test versions). It's convenient, intuitive and complete. I really can't think of anything this phone doesn't have. I've had it for about a month and no outstanding complaints. ActiveSync is a Godsend and I've already installed a few Windows Mobile based applications as well as transferred plenty of media. Though the flash is useless (as with any other camera phone thus far), the camera otherwise works fine, -- with some adjusting. No problems with call volume here. The speaker quality is excellent, phone has the ability to play audio/video files in Stereo. Size of the phone is perfect. I only question Motorola's decision to put the mic underneath the phone rather than on the face under the keypad. If you're using MP3s as ringtones, make sure they're loud enough.

Motorola is blaming minimicrosoft for the flaws. I think is great, hopefully they will drop the ms mobile. Break down the monopoly, destroy the greed that is MS. Think of them as the Umbrella coorporation from the resident evil movies. They want to be in everything.

*Sigh* The mpx 220. I bought it for $440 on ebay a couple weeks ago. Wretched camera quality. Abysmal battery life. Call volume? less than half a decibel. I mean it is so quiet you HAVE to be in a silent room to barely hear any normal conversation. I got a bluetooth headset, the HS810, to combat this but 1)the automatic press-a-button-and-say-your-contact's-name-and-a­utomatically-be-connected feature doesnt even work with my phone and 2)i shouldnt have to carry the bluetooth around with me everywhere i go and use it for every.......single.......call. Screen resolution is superb and connectivity with pc is great but can't make up for the horrible sound(or lack thereof) and unnacceptable battery life--I charge it more than I talk on it!!!! Thats why my Razr is in the mail :) Happy ending.

Dont get it. The camera sucks. It has a green glow on the edges and its very blurry. When you record and move the image gets distorted. The number one reason not to get it, it has Microsoft software. FYI $399.99 plus a disc. for 2 years with Cingular.

I went to Best Buy yesterday and as I am about to ask for assistance, the employees tells her manager that 2 people had already return their MPX220 because they were dissatisfied with it, one was volume and the other was booting time. I think Best Buy was a beta test to see if people like it. That's why is not out anywhere but at BB.

I've heard that they are recalling the phones. Cingular and ATT have delayed their shipment from Motorola for unknown reasons. Call any local store and they wont tell you why. I heard there are so many problems with the phones. The camera is not really a megapixel and volume problems. Serves them right for getting MS mobile.

i like a large keypad because the keypad on the o2 x3 was small since my hands were too big and i kept pressing three buttons or so at the same time and they were are stuck in close together so it was hard to use when playing games and browsing the internet and the aerial was annoying in my pocket too.

if i'm going to pay the price for this phone i'll probably get a sharp or samsung, etc. It's not worth the money and motorola is just plain hard to use (menu system). This phone has been out in the US for a couple of weeks now. Just picked up two at my local Best Buy using Cingular Service. Going for $250 after $100 rebate. So far its a great phone, good reception and sound. Battery Life seems fine and has just about every feature a GSM phone can have now a days.

this is my dream phone !!!!!!!!!!!! can't wait until it comes out. no external aerial, a bit small in size too compared to all the other smartphones which are bricks but this phone to me is sweet, it can also play super nes, game boy advance, mega drive, nintendo 64, playstation roms too when you purchase upgrade cds for it and also upgrade this phone to triband which is sweet. my most favourite phone and the best for being on the go. i think there's an upgrade to get it to install a radio on it too. plus it has internet explorer. that's all i could ask for is way advanced. cool will be a big difference in technology from my previous phones. cool design too from other pics of the model that i've seen of it. totally awesome. deserves more than a 10/10. excellent work motorola well done. you've done it again with a awesome new product.

All smartphones have Apps that your normal windows coms have, only the basic ones such as MSN, Windows Media and internet explorer etc etc. I personally think that the Windows powerd phones are ok but symbian is still much more flexible.
