Motorola RAZR2 V9x - User Reviews

  • You can buy from

  • Hi guys, am actually getting a problem with the Motorola RAZR2 V9x. When I want to charge it, it started to charge then the phone automatically turn on and it stop to charge and the phone turn off. I've tried many times to charge it but it does the same thing every time. Can anyone help me please?

  • Can you help me to get this phone??

  • I would like to have one of them. Anyone know where to buy the legit one. Thanks

  • Hi, is this still available? Thanks

  • I bought this mobile through Amazon can I use in Qatar using Qatar network ... Pl do help me

  • Yes, you can put different numbers into 1 contact.

  • Anyone who want to get motorola V9 or V3 battery you can contact me I can help you to get the battery.

  • Just ordered one with Amazon. Happy

  • Are you able to put multiple numbers under one name/listing (Joe - home, cell, work, etc.) or do you have to create a listing for each number (Joe - Home, Joe - Cell, Joe - Work)? Thanks

  • I had it years ago, and I'm still mourning this phone, I wish they start making them again! motolove

  • I got the V9X in November 2008 and I'm still using it. Needless to say I love this phone and I wish Motorola would make it again.

  • Battery try Amazon

  • hii frind i have parchag Motorola razr 2 v9x plz sall me i m wating u r masage

  • I want Motorola make it against and better small and slime

  • hey bro u can try online shopp for battery

  • I really love this phone even there's lot of new phone out there in the market i still love this Motorola RAZR2. I always went to different places of Malls in Manila just to look for the battery of this phone so that i can use it again, still cant find any, pls help where can i buy a battery for this phone.

  • there are no roads...

  • superb phone..stands upto d razr2 series.i think i am gonna repeat this phone.

  • I absolutely second that, it just has to be the smartest non smart phone ever built. I had the RAZRK1 before this, that was just supurb, but only 2G. The V9 surpasses that. The V9 has legions of fans out there..still. And when you consider it was released in 2008, it is still relevant today. Viva V9.

  • can we use navigator in pakistan?

  • hi how much do you want to sell ur v9x in Euro???where r u?

  • i had used many mobiles but i preffer that motorola v9x is the best

  • I use a Blackberry Torch 9810, which I love but the V9x is the best pure phone I have ever owned. The call quality and signal strength are top notch. Even the web browser works better than on a lot of the newer feature phones. The only drawback is the battery life which is terrible. But I fixerd that issue years ago by getting a high capacity battery. It's bigger and requires a bigger battery door but worth it. Adds almost triple the battery life. Got mine on ebay. I buy and sell phones from ebay, but will never part with my V9x, which to this day is one of the best feature phones ever made.

  • had the razr2 v9x had a great run with it as phone and using at a modem not in a hurry to change to another model at this point continues to do all i need, a solid phone larger numbers to see or place your fingers on the number, excellent display

  • Had this phone for over a year it was a wow experience, everything is good especially the camera. stylish design. though battery power is always an issue. but then it worths the stress.

  • the best phon i ever had. The best looking moto phone. Too bad all moto phones today looks ugly

  • got this handset for about a month well the good thing about this is the style.. i like the style of this phone its very elegant but my worst experience with this phone is the battery life full bar with just 3 calls and battery gone..i always bring a charger in case i have a emergency call now i switch to nokia n97 and its very very good!

  • can the motorala go on the net like on facebook

  • sorry, i don't know. I will have to ask first. If will know I will let you know. thank you. james

  • yes and yes

  • Browsed thru' my V9x, where can I find the GPS menu?

  • Hi, just got my new unit from US. Is the A-GPS, at&t Navigation compatible to any SP in Malaysia or rather can it be used in here or in the neighbouring countries?

  • battery not found

  • unlocking phone is done by provider with manufacturer's help, they need the SN though

  • Can u pls help how to unlock effectively my AT&T V9x. I saw many sites requiring only the imei code to produce the subsidy code, any trusted one that may guarantee my phone to be unlocked? Thanks.

  • Motorola is much better than Samsung phones, in many respect, especially considering the final quality.

  • I had this phone last year. Paid a lot for it, used it for a month and gave it away. Too heavy for the pocket. No good. Motorola lost me as a customer long time ago. Samsung is doing similar phones with less weight and large screens. Why cant Motorola perfect the clamshell. They had a good start. Was it last century?

  • Can I do video calling wiht this phone? Can the external screen serves as a mirror to take self photo?

  • Such beauty, elegance, style...... Damn Motorola u are good!!

  • theme

  • I just replace the battery with a chinese battery and it last 2 days (60 min call 30 min of music and a dozen picture takng)

  • Hey,i had purchased this phone before and i have to say if u r going for looks dis is de fone to buy but there is one big disadvantage that every person who regret is the battery life !!! I KNOW IT ~(i had it ) den i sold it offf coz it wouldnt even last a day and charging ur fone everyday is not goood!!! so i would suggest you guys not to go for this phone ~~~ Thanks Prash hope this info helped you!! Peace

  • March 08 I purchased this phone, (A lifetime I now realise in mobile years!) to use purely as a phone, & a really good easy to use camera. A vodaphone shop said this was ideal & it has proved so. For this, & excellent texting visability & good address bk, alarms & calendar, I love it! But I do not go on Internet with it. I can imagine using the internet would drain it. The battery DOES run down in a day or so quickly, anyway, with taking photos but I frequently charge. I purchased a 4MB memory to allow me plenty of extra power & all those pics! I do some illustration & graphics, so the camera is great for quick referencing, plus superb quality for reading text & really very good for small photo print-outs of postcard size. I seem to not have problems with indoor evening light too, dispite no flash. I use Photoshop to enhance & tweek colours. It is all I take with me on holidays!! Quick & simple! One gripe is that it does not properly sync with my Mac. I also use a narrow little bag on a neck leash to keep it in. This stops the camera lens getting scratched. Now alas I seem to be unable to replace this rapidly aging leather holder, tho I might make one now! No phone like it now either.. Sad to find things go so soon out of date, & searching around I found this website, so I like to write a tombstone testimonial to dear ol' RAZR2V9X..!

  • my v9 ferrari last me up to two days only if i used the video calling right thru the day the following day i need to charge it

  • the phone takes the cake hands down, i love it.

  • The razr2 V9 is the best

  • 0000000000000000000000can you get reports on the razor mobile when sending a text message

  • There's a V10 out now.... the successor to the V9 series..... its only out in "korea" at the moment

  • I don't know if you're aware, but two 2 inch screens isn't even close to 4 inches total, its more like 3.

  • helo guys i wana ask you where can i find the GPS in my RAZR2 ?

  • So, do you folks think this is the last of a long line of Razrs? In a touch screen world, is there room for another Razr?

  • Again, all Moto V8/V9/V9x come with a 2.0in external screen, plus a 2.2in internal screen. If you do the simple math, that means 4.2in screen, and I don't exactly recall any other phone has 4.2in screen at this moment, hence these Moto phones drain power like fuel for SUV. If fuel economy / battery power is your main concern, you should not even consider this phone in the first place (like an SUV). I also use my V8 and V9 (yes, I use both on different networks) quite lightly, and battery may not last for a day as well. My advice is simply keep a USB cable at work, and charge the phone at home at nite. That way you should have continuous power. Will battery be dead soon? By that time chances are you will switch to other devices.

  • Saw a copy at Walmart in California last week...US$300 unlocked and no contract. I liked the GPS, but I finally settled for Karma QA1 for qwerty keypad.

  • i signed up for one of these phones before i realised that it had no flash for night time shots... very dissapointed. once my contract is up , im out of here ..........

  • I have got a v9x for just over one week. So far the biggest disappointment about this phone is the short battery life, could hardly hold 8 hours on one charge under very light usage (like making at most 20 minutes phone call, taking a few pictures, checking out a few missed calls, etc, and I haven't started using it playing music, video games or connecting internet). I have tried to follow some battery power saving rules only to get more frustrated. The external touch screen buttons also function in a very awkward and illogical order setting. And the unavailability of MPT software ------ I am really beginning to lose my patience and thinking of returning it for a change.

  • The differences are, the V9x has A-GPS, faster UI, build quality is better, and you can read your emails, sms, view missed calls, and listen to your music from the external screen. With the V9, you can only listen to music from the external screen. I hope that helps.

  • its the v9 thats $199 not the v9x..................

  • At allphones it is $199 out right...not locked to any network

  • oh wow amazing i remember back in those days the first time i saw a v3 / had come a long way since then very nice , for this new model i hope they had wi fi memory support is great , oh well who would need wi fi anyway .

  • can please any one tell me. how much this phone will cost me. its urgent.

  • I have two RAZR2 V9x phones in my household. Both accept16g micro SDHC cards and work well.

  • Is there any information about RAZR 3? with a specification 3G, WiFi, 16GB, 2.4", Microsoft Exchange, 3.2 or 5 MP camera, 2 MP secondary camera, FM Radio, BT, GPS, Can we expect a model from Moto with above specification with name RAZR 3 ?

  • Mainly the GPS support present in V9x. u can use the compare feature to see all the differences, but that is what I know

  • Good mobile....but no fm radio.....

  • whats the difference between V9X and V9?

  • I had some problem on downloading Movie Video from the internet to my Motorola V9. For mp3 songs is ok but what about MV? Do I have to download ant software fot this model? Please write back to via email. Email address is [email protected] Thank you. Best Regards, Rodney Low Yong Chuan.

  • Not sure about V9X, as I only have V9. V9 uses BX50 battery, which has higher capacity than the BX40 being used in V8/U9. Battery performance would be better than V8 if you only use the phone on 2G network. Otherwise, the use of 3G network also consumes some good battery power. Just keep in mind Moto V8/V9 series offers some of the largest dual screens of any phone on the market, which has the drawback of consuming much battery power. You can think of them like SUV's...most people know about the fuel economy of SUV's but still buy them.

  • Hi Can anyone tell me what the battery life is like on this phone? I had a razr v8 and the battery life was terrible!

  • Is the camera n moto V9X still with no flash and no focus?!?Does any1 know it's price?!?I'd b glad f some1 answered me!Thnx n advance!

  • owh that clears it up. thanks!

  • The "m" suffix for Moto phones usually denotes the phone runs on the CDMA network. If you're in US, that means V9m only works with Verizon / Sprint, and NOT AT&T or T-mobile...or the rest of most parts of the world.

  • It's a good phone & you can use any SIM card, optus is OK.

  • i've seen V9m also. is it different from V9 and V9x or is it one of them? i'm really confused.

  • Main differences between V9X & V9 being V9X supports higher external memory (8GB x 2?) and GPS.

  • Whats Different About This Phone Compared To The V9?

  • I really wanted this phone but my mum doesn't let me!!!! Anyway, I always love this phone and I always play with the samples at the shops but I just want it! And my question can the sim card be optus and is it a good phone?

  • Motorola have a simple type of model features not line nokia and sony ericsson

  • this phone looks great and it would be awesome if the battery life would be bigger and also if the camera would have a higher resolution

  • contract & locked phone r rare sight in malaysia.. provider dont even bother to sell it unless its kinda smartfone (iphone, blackberry).. for this one, shud be under usd190

  • So you guys in Malaysia has this V9"X" (being different from V9)? If so, how much without contract and being unlocked?

  • In msia only 2 colors...Blueblack and maroon

  • Actually i a fans of Motorola.I have use many brands but at the end of the day goes back to Motorola. I've being changing the models since it has released the Startac models...and now using V9. the phone is good as it has LOCK system for all especially for SMS and media.but i do agree that the battery last is very poor. mine is just half day adn need to be recharged. especially if you play with the gadget like games...sms....and others. Especially when u are on the line for quite sometimes..the batt will drop very fast....

  • can we get them in different colors?

  • I love the look of this phone but am getting rid of it because the battery life is hopeless. I have taken it back twice and each of the dealers tell me they have had numerous complaints. Even if I don't use the phone, the battery dies within 8 hours - no use to me!

  • believe this site is Europe based and it cares relatively little about what's going on around the globe. V9X was released at least 3 months ago in US, and you can click into AT&T or Wal-Mart website to see this phone is available already. Though as long as the phone isn't available officially in Europe, chances are this site will not... BTW, Moto also released another touchscreen GSM phone called A1210 in mainland China, though again this site would not report its availability until...

  • Good, You switch to v9 it better.

  • did they release this phone or not?!! Why does the status up there still say coming soon?

  • i like razer motorola phone

  • I got this V9.it is so amazing and everyone cat get and enjoy using this secret phone.i love it and it is compatible to use SKYPE..........

  • hi guys.op u guys r on this v9x,iwould like 2 know about its efficience n its style + the size.how long is its screen n the perfomance of its camera.pliz send to mah [email protected]

  • back again have taken back my 3rd vpx because of poor battery, wont last longer tahn 24hrs without talking down to 12 when talking, love the phone its exceptional but motorala need to scream to their battery supplier because they are loosing customers, its no good if you have to have it plugged in when you want to talk, their supposed to be mobile phones GREAT phone crap battery

  • Did u try: Setting -> Ring Styles -> (whatever you chose) Detail -> (scroll down) Key Volume ???

  • I'm also in Australia. I've just upgraded to a RAZR2 V9x from my RAZR V3xx that chose to "keypad die" and go spastic two weeks after the warranty expired (rolls eyes in annoyance @ the irony). Anyway, my question is, if someone would be so kind as to shed some light, how can i turn off the keypad beeps? The only way i've found a way around the mind-numbing beep beep beep of every keystroke is to put it on Vibrate. But that's not practical as i need to hear a ring. There's nothing in Settings as an Option.

  • what about talking realy nice phone i like it

  • this is the monkey phone

  • The phone feels solid and works good, On the other hand its typical razr battery life which is crap. So keep a charger in your car and office if you use many minutes of talk time. As for the music player, not the best maybe a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. Improvement still needed on that. as for the user interface, same thing as before, very simple and not much needed there. Over all Id give this phone a 7 As for the memory card, I have a 16 Gig card in and it works fine.

  • how to change the time of this phone...whenever i tried to change...after pressing ok.. it displays the default time..do help me out!

  • Usual V9 supports up to 4GB card

  • Also V9x supports 8GB external memory vs. 2GB for V9

  • this phone have GPS but V9 no

  • V9x has AGPS Navigator

  • hi guys does anyone know the difference of the v9 and v9x i have a v9 that looks exactly like this one no difference what so ever how do i know? thanks

  • Does this phone work middle east countries? what country support it?

  • im in australia the phone is available here through Optus, great features does everthing and then some, however mine wouldnt hold its charge so ive taken it back, 16hrs and it was dead, be interesting what the deater has to say about when i get it back as i only had it 7 days, standby for further updates.

  • Where do you live? The phone is only available in US (officially) through AT&T and other authorized AT&T distributors such as Wal-Mart. (try walmart.com)

  • After a seize of bulky Nokia's for over 10 years,I find the V9 far superior to anything I have had previously. I get great reception with no static or fade in the same areas that I had these problems with Nokia. Also, in Bluetooth, I had to have the Nokia phone very near the earpiece or there would be reception breakup. The V9, no problem. I got my V9 2 weeks after they came out and find it to be a great phone. Battery life with the Nokia's were no better even though they had less features.

  • A very nice and sexy phone. My 2 year old son already knows how to work it more than me :p

  • My experience with Motorolas recemmend those who are looking forward to buy this handset, to go their full length buy one... One is for sure that you get with Motorola's new handset range and that is....COMPLETE SATISFACTION!!!

  • Hey fellows!!! I Got NOKIA N91... I'm in love with V9x cuz of it's style and all N91 is stylish as well but this one is more than that... i wanna buy one...but before that, could anybody suggest me or recommend me to switch from N91 TO V9x?? Would that be ok for me or what???

  • Help me to understand why a phone with good camera = a good phone? Why a "phone" is being judged on its picture quality instead of voice quality? Call me naive, is it because most people use MMS instead of voice calls these days? 99.9% of the time I use my Canon G9 to shoot pictures instead of through the cam on my phone. And if "camera" is everything on a phone, I wonder why the rating for iphone is...

  • Thats right! Wake up and smell a cheapo-looking plastic N-Series phone, that'll fall apart within 3 weeks of usage...

  • lets face it its a rubbish phone and everybody who says its great obviously haven't owned many phones it has a poor camera and always has. i is very basic the keypad is annoying and is generally useless thats why it has a rating on here of 6.7, wake up and smell the n series !!

  • Questions: Did you know V9 comes in black (which I'm using), graphite and gold color? Where can one get a non-AT&T or unlock version of V9X?

  • One more thing, all GSM versions of he RAZR2 have Motorola's CrystalTalk technology which is amazing. When I call poeple, I've recieved comments about poeple telling me that I'm calling from a lindline and such. Thank U Motorola for your amazing cell phone.

  • The differences between the v9 and the v9x are: Non girly color GPS enabled Micro SD up from 2 GB to 8GB alittle bit better software for AT&T and unlocked ver. And I think that's it. If you want to reply you can at fanficfion dot NET and search for the user/author DeltaSPARTAN003

  • I got this phone not that long ago and just love it, much better than its predecessors *****

  • I think this is worth being noted. This phone HAS "QVGA" (320x240) video as opposed to QCIF (177x144) thats mentioned in specifications. I went to an ATT store & tested it out. It's pretty nice.

  • i can believe that, that phone is good. but i dont like that phone because i cant received 30 dialled number and i cant received 30 misscalled .so that's why .and the second things is that i cant use battery a long time.if u use a little time so that phone become so hot . have a lot of problem

  • I have V9X but loved my old Sony Erickson better, but don't get me wrong...V9X is very nice and good.

  • i thnk it is a nice phone. sleek and slim... i think i am buying it as soon as i have enough money hahaha...but what is it's difference to v9? anyone...

  • Definately

  • hi ppl tel me whether phone has nice sound quality than sony erickson

  • hey ppl all fones have there issues and for a motorola this one is great it slim and full of what you need i purchased one my self and since i have been seeling fones for bout 7 yrs now i know pretty much all you can know bout new and old fones and i would give this one a 8/10 but some problems are as easy fixed as a manual reset on all fones and most ppl forget that phones are lil computers they need time to chill so turn them off once a week and all should be good any questions just gives a yell fonegirl

  • This phone is good

  • If you don't like to visit Wal-Mart's website, then I'd bet you can read the FIRST LINE in the spec page from GSM Arena, which reads FOR AT&T. Call me naive, I don't think AT&T (wireless) is available outside of US...

  • How do you know that "knight" is from the USA? ...he did not say so himself?! Are you using this phone? Do you nhave the same problem as knight?

  • The phone has already been "released" in US...and you can get it from the biggest retailer in the world...Wal-Mart! Check it out at walmart.com The phone is only available in US for AT&T customers. Even though I wouldn't mind to get one in Asia.

  • This phone is listed as "coming soon", how come yolu are using it already? Do you have the V9x or just the V9? 3 of our family members are using V9, and none have problem at all. The only complain is the battery life - which does not last long enough after a few months!

  • I had bought the phone last month. I had experience problem with in 3G call. when i flip open(cannot see the other party) to make video call, the other side can hear properly. but when the flip close(can see urself) the other side CANNOT hear u at all. there are many other probs. Here is the list: 1) Alarm Clock not functioning well. SOmetimes it works sometimes it does not. 2) The pictures cannot be view when the other side phone sent a MULTIPLE Pictures 3) Java game(tetris) freeze a while then normal back. 4) Hand free prob with the mic. After i went to service centre, the only things that is fix is the alarm clock and the Mic in Handfree. It is because they upgrade the firmware/software.. that's veri disappointing. I have to go back to Service Centre again.

  • finally ditched the old v3 and got this ... love it for the most part... why they removed the speakerphone use with flip closed is beyond me... and love the external screen w/ function buttons but why not allow them to be re-mapped by user... they all really go same place... MY MEDIA... anyhow slender, great call quality, solid feel...

  • I love this phone, it is sleek, I love the picture quality, the fact that I can view my pictures from the front screen and that I can read my emails from the front screen. The battery will last for days if you follow the battery saving instructions in the manual. I will never buy a Nokia, the keys are to small to text properly. At first I didn't like the colour (charcoal) but I love it now, smooth, glass feel and having the picture on the front wonderful.

  • Sorry, single cam only. (SOHC?)

  • is that dual cam?

  • hey guys..i need urgetn help.. do you know about the phone's texting ablity?? like how many text can it keep ? (since i keep alot of them) and i don;t want to have (run out of memory thing) is this phone right for a text saver like me!?

  • Don't understand why some people kept on saying that the N93 is a good looking phone cos Nokia never produce good lookking phones other than the 8 series! Motorola V3 was one of the best looking phne ever produced. The selling price was almost US$800 when it was first available. V3 is a fashion phone & N93 is a feature phone, so don't know why some people have to compare them?! Anyway, V3 definately outsold the ugly N93 by 10 folds. V9 is a fashion phone - very practical & reliable, never hang once sincee I had it for about half a year! Both of my Nokia 8800 Arte hang very often!!!

  • I never had a clamshell phone but i like this one. What is your opinion about using this king of phone by boys.Personally i think it fits to the girls especially V9 with its red colour. This one is coloured in black a more masculine colour. And i rote bad opinions about battery life is that true?

  • V9x is no better than all V-line up in terms of battery life I hate it but love the style it's sexy and slim.....just like my boyfriend's hip heeeee so, there's no such a thing as PERFECT PHONE I got this one because I love the 8GB external memory and tho it's only 2 MP, it is of real good good outcomes so guys....enjoy

  • rip off firm.

  • i like very much.is the best telephone.congratulations!!!

  • Not really try to defend, though if you can find another phone with "both" a 2.2" and a 2.0" mons working at the same time with (noticiable) better battery life than V9X, then your point stands. Otherwise, before you purchase your V9x, did you expect a shorter battery life due to the dual supersize mons? Since you've a V9x, I bet you live in US. If so, I'd suggest you put a car charger and a USB cable in your office, so you can have power on this phone all the time. PS. I'm using V9 (as V9x is not available in my country)

  • The v9x has the WORST battery life EVER - a phone is no good if you can't ever make a call. This thing barely gives you 1 hour of talk time, standy is less than 48 hours, I'm getting complaints from family & friends about crappy reception & dropped calls, and you have to keep the phone open to use the speakerphone, which is a pain. None of this was an issue w/ my trusty v551. Steer clear of this thing - huge disappointment!

  • kippersluis

  • Seems like V9x is like Z9...only for Americans. I work for...but I don't get this great deal! I've to pay US$250 for my V9 (no x...) where I live.

  • dont have one looks cool style 8 out of 10

  • For all you MOTO FANS.... If you a new V9x.. Go to Wal-Mart online phone store they are giving this phone ayay with a 2 year contract. Or do what I did add a line and you get one for just 99.99. How about that !!!!! Signed: D1dickie

  • I don't have V9x (and won't get one til it drops being US$250), though from my experience with E8, U9, A1600 and Zn5, all of which the manufacturer officially says the phones support 4GB external memory, I've put 8GB cards in all of these phones and they all work fine, with all (music, photos, etc..) files being read normally.

  • That's because Moto designed its Bluetooth to be visible for only 3 minutes to other devices...a proactive way to prevent any virus being sent from other handsets without the knowledge of the user.

  • A SplashGear forum says 8GB microSDHC doesn't ready fully, only 4GB. Can anyone prove 8GB works? SplasGear.: http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:yIc7w7oPnrcJ:www.slashgear.com/sandisk-8gb-microsdhc-compatibility-test-278204/+nokia+n95+microsdhc+limited&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5&gl=uk

  • i am one of the V@ flip Hphone fan. i'm being using the V generation Hphone since the first generation came out and still following the changes every moment. Now im using the V9 model Hope to change to V9X soon. Anybody need to know more about V series ..u can call me at 012 3119059

  • One problem with V9 is the Bluetooth. Hardly getting the connection if somebody wanted to transfer to you.BUt if you are the one searching...well its very fast. Unless Moto & Moto.. If Moto & Sony worst... But if V3 no problem... TeeKAY* Medan Mara* KL

  • This phone is great and all, but I still think the old RAZR looks better.

  • Video calling is initiated with phone open then close and use 2Mp Camera and external screen (same size/quality as internal screen). Good image for video calling. The V9 is my 3rd Motorola model (V3X, V6) - I'll never buy a Nokia again!

  • I going to buy this phone because it's slim, sleek and stylish unlike the nokia brick phones that doesn't even fit your pocket. Whooo!!! I love this phone!!!

  • the V9 can do video calls.. you close the phone and use the 2mp camera for it

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, as a V9 user, not that I agree with the design, my understanding is V9 does support video calls through the external (and only) camera. I asked Moto how it works, it says after I press the v-call button, close the flip immediately and I can v-call through the external cam... That's why I'm still using my good old V3maxx i-mode which offers a secondary cam for v-call.

  • well for a feature phone- i noticed an immediate lack of a video call camera, and that it's new UI only goes skin deep. once you get into doing more advanced stuff on the phone- it shows typical motorola behaviors. i think this is a good phone for people who only really want to make phone calls and store images. The camera on it is barely B-grade. the images have a horrid contrast. i know all this because i sell the phones and have just spent an hour playing with one to fully delve into it's fewatures so i can sell it's good points.

  • i think u talk about Motorola here right?

  • stylish phone best performance this v9 are latest generation system with fast OS dont compare it with the old generation becoz of slow OS if you say so, probably you are using the old. the os is optimize for performance and feature the best thing with this phone are touch screen on external screen with haptic technology

  • I've been running a V9 now for about 3 mths ... battery life is great 5-7 days without bluetooth and about 3 days when running it with the S9 headset or the T505 carkit ... best moto so far but will have to wait for the V9x

  • The V3 is everything a user could want, It is STILL the BEST SELLING PHONE, Sure the N93 has better features but considering the V3 has the features, Looks, size and affordability more people bought it, Though I do also have to admit that since then Motorola haven't been the same at all

  • really poor

  • Darn it, I was hoping for a FM-radio...GPS is a plus, but a radio would make this music phone complete...and I may have just bought one...

  • its aphone with worst performance as its processing speed is very slow.

  • Hey, Nokia sucks you know. Boring design, boring features and stuff and Nokia is cheap too you know. Also, you could get the same features and more with other manufacturers like this one by just changing models. You're left with a stylish and feature rich phone... -unlike Nokia, It's feature rich but it's ugly and it's a brick!!! It's better to have them both.

  • no way has the n95 outsold the v3...i work in mobile retail; when the v3 first came out and we sold loads of them for years...not months but years... people still come in asking for them now even... they wont be asking for the n95 years down the line trust me....

  • Believe when V3 was first available, nobody was dare to make such "slim" flip phone... And look at the almighty brand's "attempt" on the slim flip phone market with its N76...I've heard many shops stop selling this phone due to quality problems. If V3 doesn't look good when it was first release, how come so many people rushed to get a copy? From what I remember, the original V3 cost more than US$300 (if not more). So why people didn't rush to get an N93? Ask your gf or wife or mother or mother-in-law or grandma and see if she wants to carry a "brick" N93 or a "light" V3?

  • I have a moto V8 and it can barely get thruogh a full day with the battery life. This V9x won't get me through half my day. Whats up with that MOTO.

  • So what if V3 sold? It was cheap with cheap hardware, the N93 was expensive and was feature rich. The N93i is beautiful, it looked much better than the cheap poor people V3. So what if N93 was a brick, i'd rather have that and be satisfied than take some boring and useless V3. N93 didnt sell a lot cause it was expensive, BUT the N95 OUT SOLD THE V3! Hahaha!

  • Believe not just V3, but almost any Moto flip phone outsold N93 (including N93i if you want)... So what did the customer tell about N93? Why such feature packed phone has so much cheapy plastic matericals?

  • Yes and N93 is the ugliest brick i've ever seen. People would laugh at you when you show off that huge beast.

  • The best flip phone is STILL the NOKIA N93, its still at the top of the log of the OpenGL chart as the best device at graphics acceleration PLUS it had: TV-Out 3.2mp Carl Zeiss Cam with 3x Optical Zoom Laptop Mode 2.4inch screen Wi-Fi b/g with UPnP Large 1100mAh Li-Po battery Video recording AND playback at VGA 30FPS Stereo sound recording (2 mics) And best of all Symbian S60v3 making at FAR more versatile and functional software and hardware wise than any MOTO! So the All Mighty NOKIA still rule even when it comes to flip phones, not a single moto can stand its ground against the mighty N93.

  • Best phone I've ever had, I've had nothing but problems with both lg and nokia, hated my first motorola but the v9 restored my faith in their brand!

  • Oh Dis fon is supa! With qlty features but camera needs an upgrade .

  • Each brand has its specialty, and Moto is good with its flip phone. No upgrade for Razor? From the "plain" V3, V3i, V3X, V6, V8, V9. V9X...from 0.3mp cam with no external memroy, to 2.0mp (not a lot for sure) and 8GB external memory, 2G to 3.5G...small external mon to 2.0" and most importantly for a phone...Crystal Talk....you call all of the above being no upgrade? Think about when was the last time the almighty brand offered a (top-of-the-line) flip phone? N76? How was the quality? Paint kept coming off? Flip can't be fully opened with headphone plugged in?

  • Quite inconvenient, though V9x should support video call with single cam like V9...which I'm using. For outgoing call, one has to dial the v-call and then close the flip. For incoming call, simply answer the v-call without opening the flip. Two cams are better than one cam, one cam is better than no cam...that's all folks.

  • If you looking for today generation phone why you are not looking at Samsung / Nokia and so on. Motorola is phone in past. They been making RAZR I do not know for how long. They do not even upgrade the RAZR. Only upgrade the pacakge and not the preformance. Even company has been for sell but no one buy it.

  • It says you can do videocalling but I don't see how that's possible since there is no secondary camera.

  • yes nice

  • niceeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Actually, i looking 4 my new mobile even i still left 9 months contract. I love dis V9, but after i look ur comments, made me consider it & d battery not last long, altho i love the design... Is this 1 is much better that previous V9? Wats d difference V9X compare 2 V9?

  • Motorola should produce a flip phone sized between this wide V9 & the narrow K3(a very nice phone & easy to pocket). But the screen size must be at least 2.2 inches! Motorola should also improve the look of all those ugly icons! Should copy the look of icons from SonyEricsson or even Motorola own A1200 Ming!!!

  • no OS no touchscreen GPS... in what? java? dont make me laugh in your face, motorola. no wlan, no FM radio (still, on and on, radio is reserved only for lowend motorolas...) die, motorola. make chamber-pots, not cell phones. you're UNABLE to do it WELL

  • People buy these kind of fones for communication. AGPS, 3G CrystalTalk, etc. Some are not there to maintain it's price. Moto has good features at a very low price. I mean, who needs a 3.2mp camerafone when you already have a Sony digital camera? Peace out!

  • Looks like an upgraded version of V9 with GPS...actually, Z9 with AGPS! Another upgrade is the expandable memory of up to 8GB, which, according to my experience with past Moto phones, that "implies" the phone actually supports 16GB external memory. Personally I don't care much about the 2mp cam as much as the secondary cam for video-call...which somehow Moto didn't put one in for V9. (even low-end VE538 has one!) I just bought a V9 for USD250 (no contract, uunlocked) last month. So I'll get a V9x only...if it drops below USD250!

  • Regular moto bs, allways same phone re-released, and they wonder why they have lost there market share.. shame on you moto!!

  • well the moto 2mp get better pictures thn my e66 3mp

  • I like u m0to but y a 2mp cam make it 3.2mp then i wil need 1

  • I think it's actually a good start from Motorola to comeout model with GPS but they should improve the camera and same goes to the WIFI function. So far I didn't find any good 'flip phone' that come with gps and wifi. Please inform if there is. Thanks.

  • I Just hope that they will have a non crippled (at&t) unlocked version - would not spend the money on getting a phone that would not let me use any applications or at least would make it very hard and annoying to use them.

  • well moto i must say good job on the motorola v8 the talking phone feature is very cool, combine with the voice command makes the phone seem's hitech and futuristic, now if thay just add fm radio and even 3mp camera it would be perfect can we say razr 3.

  • I Just Can't Get it ,Why They Don't Come up With real battery they really Suck on this thing but the other stuff is great ..

  • It has Asisted GPS navigation , and microSDHC support and HSDPA .

  • Come on Motorola move on. Dont you have any more design ideas, give me a break....

  • finally v9x. i've been waiting a long time for this. wish it will be available very soon.

  • It would be the GPS that is different, wouldn't it?

  • not much difference with the V9...what's the point of it?...2MP camera?...come on...
