Motorola RAZR HD XT925 - User Reviews

  • I've been using this phone every day since 2013. It's very robust, even without a case you can drop or splash it and it won't care. I got some GPU bugs with the screen flickering blue : flashing a new ROM worked for me. Currently on Android 5 with Resurrection Remix ROM. With time the amoled screen got a bit burned-in except on the parts of the screen that were mostly black : the bottom and top bars, so on full screen videos I noticed that these borders are a slightly different color than the rest of the screen. Great phone, a bit slow on the heavier apps that require more RAM. The battery still allows the phone to last more than a full day.

  • please where can I get this phone's screen, my is spoiled

  • in nowadays 2017 this phone is one of the bests because the new ones are too weak

  • I have never found a phone I like more than this one. I originally had an XT910 and after the sound inexplicably stopped working Motorola upgraded me, off warranty, to a XT925 at no cost. After about 3 1/2 years of use I am only now starting to experience glitches related to the GPU: The screen will occasionally flicker blue which I can usually resolve by restarting apps or the phone. Artifacts will sometimes be left on the screen by apps, against resolved by restarts. Every so often the screen in inexplicable fade to black which I believe is related to GPU overheating/crashing. After a couple seconds I can hit the power button and unlock the phone without incident. The back casing is also starting to come free because one of the casing screws or sockets has probably stripped. Please not, these are not so much complaints but a testament of how well this phone has held up after nearly 4 years of constant use. This phone is also very physically durable because of it's case construction materials. As others have said, this phone does get rather hot though. I also noticed people inquiring about replacement screens; your best bet is probably to buy a used XT925 if you can find one in the $100 range and just use that. The screens themselves are mostly listed at $55 - $85 but all I have seen are listed as out-of-stock. This was also one of the last phone manufactured by Motorola's mobile division before they were acquired by Google and started producing generic Samsung knock-offs. If you're looking for a semi-durable phone for productivity purposes, and not gaming, I highly recommend this phone if you can get a used one in the $100-150 range. Still runs a wide variety of productivity apps, including Citrix, although running desktop apps via Citrix on mobile may be difficult, it is sufficient to gain access to your enterprise network and download documents to your phone for use with mobile applications.

  • probably could be that doesn't have the gyroscope and for Pokemon go is really necesary

  • Carefree you see where it say's locked ? Your bootloader is locked and you have no system on your phone. Mine does the same thing. I got mine in Juarez, MX in 2012 and went online and motorola gave me a code to unlock my bootloader. I tried a few ROMS etc and somehow in between loading different roms my damn boot loader locked again and I rebooted it in fastboot trying to restore it and that's all mine does. When it first happened I took it to Telcel where I had service and they sent it to motorola and reloaded it. This time I just said screw it. I no longer had the service and I'm not paying Motorola to unlock the boot loader. I need the software to unlock it when it won't boot like motorola is using but have been unable to find on the internet. What a shame. I liked the phone otherwise. Now it just sits on a shelf and does nothing until I can find a program to unlock it in this state.

  • I really wanna know if u can sell ur own for me, because I need lcd for my own. I am from nigeria. This is my cell phone No

  • Personally I thinkd that it is an old and very useful smart phone because it run all my apps, but i got out of battery to fast, and it can get very VERY hot, such a shame because i been using motorola and i really trusted the brand, anyways good device in my opinion. Greetings from Mexico

  • Yeah, i also have this phone and i can't play it. What is your issue?

  • just wondering why I cant play pokemon go with this phone?

  • my Motorola XT926 Screen and screen torch is bad how do i get a new one

  • well since it arrive the device, purchased a month late after was release and today, 06/25/2016 at 14:00 aprox the screen stop working mi Moto HD, i can see that still on but the LCD of Moto HD is damage (strange reason bcs no dropping or something like that today) even so i will find another screen to be able to fix it and make it work, in the time will have only the new gen Motorola Moto X Force (thanks for the old Motorolas devices)

  • please my screen for HD XT926 is bad how do I get a replacement?

  • I have the same problem, no good even after resetting to factory default. I have the same feeling about this phone, I am upset for I like this phone very much.

  • My XT925's issue is the same except for one thing, instead of the phone carrier logo. I am haunted by the Motorola logo for it is the only thing on the screen for more than an hour. Although I am able to reset it to factory default, the Motorola logo will still only be the only thing on the screen ultimately. Here is the current status of my RAZR HD:- AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) 10,9B (*) (sha 07671a2, 2014 10 15 04 59 29) eMMC Info: Size 16GB Device is locked, Status code 0 Battery Low Transfer Mode: USB Connected Fastboot Reason: Key pressed

  • I like this phone, especially the perfect arrangement of the power button and the volume up and down buttons all on the right side. I had a Samsung S4, ti was the buttons that drove me nuts the only thing I don't like about this XT925 is that it is impossible to open it without buying those expensive tools just from Motorola. I was able to keep this phone for 5 years until I upgraded the Android OS it suggested. Now I can't boot it up even though I have already reset it to factory default. There is a message from the phone itself that I really have problem understanding: "Now send the package you want to apply to the device with "adb sideload " I need help with this message, I don't want to dispose this phone when there is still some hope. Thanks.

  • B`cuz it would be rooted to upgrade its firmware you must flash it.

  • Motorola company is the world no.1 company..... Display superior..... And no hang problems......... Touch excellent..

  • Good mobile. No probs

  • the battery is great. had my razr hd since Dec 2012.

  • My phone after 4.4.2 sometimes have glitch, but I fixed it by clearing the cache partition but the phone must be turned off to start the procedure. It is easy to find the procedure online, hope this helps. I am with Fido Canada.

  • my mobile hange and not open plz help me

  • I want to know if the battery strength is OK before I get one

  • Hello all, I have quite some issue that I've spent countless days trying to figure out. From I've seen on this thread many other people have been experiencing this issue. Basically my Motorola "RAZR HD" Model: XT925 is unable to start up. It is stuck in a loop where the green charging light goes on, followed by a white screen that displays the "Rogers" Logo. Keep in mind that Rogers is a Canadian mobile service provider. After all of this the screen will go black the light stays green and it does it all over again. I've looked for solutions online and basically the only thing that made sense which did not work was performing a hard reset. Pressing and holding the power button along with the volume down button. My question is if anyone else is experiencing this, also if you have found a solution. Thanks, Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any comments.

  • i have been using it since 2 years.suddenly stopped working.on connecting usb cable showing green light,it showed a message that battery is ok but key locked.iam unable to switch on the phne.wat to do

  • e help me what is wrong with my phone i plug it in and a white light comes on then shuts off if plug into cpu white light stays on help [email protected]

  • After update on LP 5.0.2 battery lasts 2 days. Great phone :)

  • after update to 4.4.2 my Razr HD work perfect.

  • Upgrade to v4.4.2 results in tons of unwanted system messages per day on MTS RU network. Looks like there is no possibility to disable this option without root access. Rollback to 4.1.2 solves the issue.

  • It's a nice phone and everybody should get one

  • the phone screen cracked and am in Ghana but i dont get anywhere to fix it .... so wha do i do and i love the phone too

  • Go to Settings.... then About Phone... then you will see System Updates... Check For Updates. Easy Peasy

  • how can i update software any ppl tell me??

  • look are very nice.four or apps run easily not hanging problems.

  • I upgraded from Jelly Bean (4.2.3) to Kit Kat (4.4.2) and it went without a hitch. Significantly better performance. Always do the backup before an upgrade like this though!!!

  • hi guys which is better performance of the battery by personal experience not nonsense websites. Moto G vs RAZR HD XT925 ? thanks

  • Just want to inform you that between this phone and note4 , i am going to order xt925 because i just love the design, any recommendations? ;)

  • Did you try resetting the phone? Caution! You will lose all data saved on the phone. If you do a search on "Hard Reset" for the XT925, you will get instructions for doing it. That may save your phone.

  • Morning, I had the same problem, and my phone just died! No longer booting, no power unless connected into power. I'm so sad since I just loved that phone! Best phone I had in years. I think I'll buy it again.

  • @KK. Nope. Have never rooted the phones.

  • Just wondering, had you rooted any of the phones previously or not?

  • CAUTION: 4.4.2 Seeding in Canada I have 2 Moto XT925s. In both instances, upgrading to 4.4.2 resulted in the phones refusing to turn-off/reboot after the upgrade UNTIL you do a complete hard factory reset and cache wipe. BEFORE you upgrade, backup your data/files. Following the update, the feature of Hold Power button down for > 10sec for a cold reboot DOES NOT work. Also, the skin feature that allows the calender widget to show the current date is lost. You also lose the colour feature of the signal strength meter demonstrating internet connection; when the meter is blue, it use to indicate successful connection to the internet. After the update, it is now monochrome with no indication if internet connection has been achieved. Not aware of any other bugs/changes in function. Hopefully, there will be an update to correct these bugs.

  • Recent over the air seeding of Android 4.4.2 in Canada. I've used the phone for almost 2 years. Excellent Build quality. Great screen. Battery Life: about 1 yr into ownership, battery life was getting short mostly due to something in the software running the CPU at very high utilization. Solution, I did a factory reset and cleared the cache. Reinstalled my apps. The CPU utilization was normal again and battery life returned to essentially new state. Memory Utilization: I usually have about 200MB free RAM out of the 1GB. I wish it had come with 2GB. Otherwise, I just make sure I kill apps that I'm not using to fee up memory.

  • how long have u using this phone n how did it work?

  • In total lately I used the version of an insertion 4.1.2 and was tired of infinite problems, resets, and slow work. I already decided to change the phone and to buy another, but to me version 4.4.2 Here came some days I use it. Difference enormous! It as though other phone! I am happy. I decided to leave to use further. The version of my phone for Puerto Rico, but I live in Russia.

  • Amazing phone, very trusty and never dies. I've had this phone for over a year and it has been my trusty companion since day 1. I put a trident case on it (similar to otterbox) and it's been almost indestructible ever since. There are 3 issues that everyone must take into consideration. 1. The battery wears after a while as all batteries do. Dont expect to be able to use this phone for 2 days straight (which i was able to do) after 6 months. 2. The wifi drops signal even when it's full strength. 3. The camera is epic during the day but sucks at night. You have to hold the phone very still to take photos at night. However video is always good. Alltogether, i got my bang for my buck and it's still going strong!

  • speechless. great phone, never ending juice on one charge, previously owned Samsung/nokia/lg but this moto blows out of the water all above. great job from the moto folks

  • ask motorola for 4.0.4 stock rom and download RSDLite. (if you have a Samsung you should use Odin.) you will have to search after that

  • I got an official update which has slowed the device down alongwith quick battery draining. I want to downgrade back to 4.0.4. Amy suggestions. I am not that tech savy to be specific.

  • I've had this XT925 for almost a yr,it works pretty good in terms of browsing and messaging. The camera is nice as well, the downside of it is that it gets extremely warm,or rather hot after prolonged usage.Sometimes even if an app is open, the best from the phone can be felt. Also it only gives about 4 hrs of battery life even if not being used.Is this normal for a phone with a non- removable battery? Or is this normal for this XT 925.??? Could someone please tell me?

  • You probably got a defective unit. The average temperature of the phone is between 35 and 38ºC.

  • Where this phone is a great looking phone, it fails miserably after using it. The average operating temperature on the phone has been 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees F). Spoke to Motorola support's number here in Canada, which automatically becomes the Philippines! They 'fixed' my wife's phone and mine after being sent into service here in Canada. Less than 2 weeks later, my phone continues to get hot, my wife's phone is just fine. Same Apps on the phone except I have about 14 on mine she has the same 14 + an additional 40. Motorola service, used to be a great deal better than it is now. Had this been a different problem I would have not called them expecting to return it to their service depot a 2nd time (a month out of warranty). Their claim they would fix both phones with the heat problems, works for one and not the other... they won;t take mine back. Motorola used to a better customer service / support when onshore.

  • When come the update to kitkat ?

  • Awsome Touch And Cam. with good display

  • Dnt worry. If u r moto lvr thn buy it. Its a amazng phone. I also usng this phone.

  • Then you must have poor network quality in your area and the phone struggles to get reception so it constantly needs to boost is RF transmitter. I get a full day using GPS 4 to 5 times a day with my phone. As you know GPS uses plenty battery power.

  • It is an international version. it covers all GSM bands. So you won't have a problem, just make sure it is this model XT925 not the Droid RAZR HD (XT926)which is the same thing but doesn't cover all GSM bands. It is for Verizon networks.

  • I'm in a plan to buy this phone(06/2014). I'm indian. Will this unlocked phone suit to all indian GSM networks. please suggest your opinion

  • You have a Maxx HD or normal one.? I've the normal and can't get more than 4 hrs of screen time. I'm still on ICS though and planning to upgarade soon.

  • I have xt 925 for a few good months. Lets say that is a good phone if you know how to handle it. First. 4G or LTE is killing the battery. Plus on T mobile the speed will not be more than 20 mb/s. Second. It is not a hight class phone. So don' t expect too much of speed. Third: The battery is realy good. But remember just in the morning to reboot the phone. That will close back app and you will be a very happy user. Camera. Just install an app and wait for autofocus a few seconds. Android. So far the best is cyanogenmod 11 and I tried all of them. I mean All the custom roms for this phone. Good stuff. Don' t worry if you by mistake drop it.

  • Just got kitkat 5 days ago seems better so far

  • the droid razr hd will end up kitkat before september/october

  • hi, it's good but don't overload it..20-50 applications will be optimal. its characteristics are fast but not fast enough anymore. And if it gets overload you won't be happy..

  • Will XT925 be getting Android KitKat update? Can anybody confirm me about this!!

  • i think i have to upgrade my razr also for this and sell my s3. but the cam in moto phone is not as good as my s3..hmmm..

  • If you like motorola`s phone you will love the XT925 it is an excellent phone

  • yeah dude, it's definitely a good phone. Not top of the line or anything, but a steal for the price its at!

  • hi, after 2 long years of waiting, ive just noticed that the price of this phone has dropped and now im going to ugrade my razr xt910 to this. is this a good phone? be honest please..thanks

  • I have it too. I just wait 2 seconds :D. isnt the software, or mic. i got used to

  • Did you try safestrap? Its the same like CWM but much better. The best part of safestrap is that it will let you create rom slots onto which you can flash whatever ROM's you want without touching the main or stock ROM. So even if you mess up you wont have to run from pillar to post to get your device back working again. Its safe and fun and you dual boot or triple boot into the roms you have installed. Just google it.

  • this phone only supports 4G chip?

  • I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 Telcel Mexico and the speaker just stopped working on it on day 21 when it was new. I had already unlocked and rooted it so I just ordered a speaker assembly. Still no sound. Yesterday I got the Motorola Razr XT925. The samsung is great for rooting and running custom mods etc. This Motorola is a bit picky. I rooted it so I can run all my root apps but I can seem to get a Recovery on it at all. I tried CWM. Anyway I love it. A little smaller than the galaxy but okay phone. Motorola Razr Xt-925 Telcel Mexico.

  • so ive had this phone for about 14 months now i've had a tpu bumper case on it, no wear or tear at all i didn't have a screen protector so i have small scratches they are not noticeable. ive never dropped my phone either oleophobic coating keeps my phone filled with smudges! done a lot o things, watch movies, play games, browse the web, edit pictures, communicate, read books, etc. battery life can be greatly improved in telcel if you switch to only 2g and turn off all sensors... the best app for photos is camerazoomfx better battery life by rooting it! so here is a simple way to root, works on any razr hd, even other phones too! got root easily, installed xposed module and root aps such as, greenify, lucky patcher, minminguard, xprivacy, gravitybox! increased battery life, cutom bootanimations, flashed the moto x camera, did lots of fun stuff but it wasnt enough for me... i unlocked the bootloader: and then installed cyanoagenmod: now im on kitkat (even though motorola will give us an update) still cm11 is better than stock because of themes, customizations, root out of the box. overall i give this phone an 8/10 cons: low internal storage (cant have too many apps, i have 32gb sd card) mediocre camera mediocre battery life (only 10 hours on screen time heavy use) in terms of performance, its good enough; but now im only getting phones which are easy to unlock and root such as nexus or developer/google play edition phones.

  • I have a delay when answer a call. I have to wait for 2 seconds to hear the person who call me. Do you have same problem? How do i solve this? I reset to factory but nothing. I change network 2,3,4 G but nothing change. Please advice

  • Hi, Can any one confirm if performing a factory data reset by booting into recovery erases internal storage or not? Pls note factory data reset by booting into recovery from switched off state and not by choosing settings- privacy- factory data reset.

  • You should clarify that soon this model along with droid razr hd xt926 both will be upgrade to kitkat by the end of first quarter of 2014

  • i have this phone, and its very good. i recommended specially if its rooted.

  • it's a peace of shit, always freeze, stupid phone, so slowly as a galaxy ace

  • Xt 925 for France when receiver android 4.4?

  • do you want a FM radio... Buy a walkman... :P

  • Best Phone Period... Battery life is far superior.Apples to Apples. These phones rule...i have been using CEll since 88 Used many, broke many, BB, Etc.....Motorola as always Best of the best....Samsung Ha Ha Kid phone....Dont drop it, it will drop you - LOL...

  • I don't like Mexican carrier Telcel (though I use them for coverage in small towns I travel to), but the price of this device has dropped dramatically. I just got one for $250 US during the "good weekend" (Mexican black Friday), on a cheapo plan of $15 US bucks a month (I not a heavy usser so the 40 intercompany minutes + 100 Telcel minutes + 200mb are just fine). As for the phone, in general I'm OK with it, but the battery turned out to be a dissapointment, after reading it had a "big battery". As I said, I'm not a heavy usser, few calls a day, some sms and whatsapp's, and it doesn't last two days. And the camera is bad, I had better pictures form the previous LG P-500 or Samsung Omnia with 5MPX, the manual focus capability let me take clear pictures less than 1", this one doesnt have a good macro, and the overal quality is sub-par to same range phones. As the battery life is my biggest complain, I believe I'll keep it for a while, but not recomend it to friends.

  • BUT the loudest MSARTPHONE io ever had was the DEFY+, also the SII 9105 plus, but the XT925 is a bit louder, all, music, sms, email, spams etc.

  • BUT i also have to charge the PHONE all 3rd Day. So of course i hear music 2-3 times per week. For max 50 minutes per week. My GALAXY S2 9105 had a good akku to, i had to charge it all 4 days.

  • I've had this phone for just under 12 months and can't stand it! I'm looking at the s4 or note 3.

  • I have xt925 and yes telcel charges more for the phone then other countries. But I love it.. hope it gets kit-kat update

  • But how to route it?

  • i love my xt925 ,smarter and better than others...hd cable can support my earth @map surfing, camera quality is good for me..i just want reality image no enhance...security also satisfied.nice android...walk on .

  • That is not true. I use otg cable on Razr HD xt925

  • My phone shows a spots in display in low light?

  • i loveeee the battery life and the phone is great too...if this phone was a girl I'd marry it.

  • great phone, if you rooted it, better than others

  • This Phone is Phenomenal, in terms of Battery Power, i've had Moderate Use from it over 3 days & it still has 40% Battery Life left, I barely Got through a day on my Previous Phone (Samsung S3), if you want Long battery Life this is the Phone for you,Nothing comes Close.

  • After two weeks with the Razr HD,I can honestly say it is the best phone I have ever handled, both in terms of quality of build and also in the way it operates. The battery life is all that is promised and more, especially with the smart actions feature intelligently cotynfigured. if it was possible, I would mark it 11 out of 10. Well done Motorola, you are a serious contender indeed.

  • the HTC 'ONE' also has the loudest volume in the smart phone in the market right now due to two front facings speaked and bloomsound, how does this phone compare with HTC 'ONE' in terms of sound quality?

  • Why music, movie, game stops while increasing or decreasing volume plz help me out

  • Xda developers web site

  • No usb otg have to stick with samsung

  • I've had this phone since March or April 2013. I love the Samsung Galaxy lines, but their battery sucks. I have screen shots of this phone, going 1day, 11hours, 7 minutes and still having 22% charge. That's a day and a HALF on one charge. I check email, read e-books, get bus times (via nextbus.com and an app), I check my calendar, and talk on the phone. In fact, screen 35%, voice 35%, idle 10%, Android 10% and a bunch of other 1% and 2% items. Also, sound ... the output BLOWS away HTC, Samsung, and Nokia hands down. With Samsung and HTC, I have to have the sound up at around 75% to hear it. With the Motorola, I have to keep it at about 10%, or it gives me a headache. Reception is great, no issues with the phone (the only reception issues I've had, have been due to Rogers.) Now - so that I don't get in trouble with the rules, let me list a few of the phones I've owned between November 2006 and June 2013: Palm Treo - 700w, 700p, Treo Pro (850) HTC - P4000, Touch, Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch Pro 2, Snap, Panache, Raider Samsung - Infuse 4G, Galaxy S3, Note II Motorola - Spice, XT925. As you can see, I've had quite a few phones. The Razr HD is up there in my top 5... 1: Note 2 (but was too big so sold it.) 2: Razr HD XT925 3: Raider 4: Galaxy S3 5: Touch Pro 2

  • Oh look! Another Motorola phone with no FM radio. Useless.

  • i have this phone and it is the best phone i have ever had

  • of course it'll work outside US and it should be unlocked. battery power Non-removable Li-Po 2500/2530 mAh battery it powerful. im using razr xt910 that has lesser bat power and its already impressive

  • No need to even think about it -- the battery life of the RAZR HD already exceeds the Maxx's by design. Furthermore, the battery connectors are different so they are incompatible.

  • Does it work outside USA, or outside a specific network? Any Battery test availanle, either from site or users? Thanks a lot..Im really looking for a phone with good battery

  • if people in the world would know that these kind of amazing phones of motorola exist then i believe there would be a great switch--PLEASE ADVERTISE WORLDWIDE!

  • This telephone is brutally expensive in Mexico, sold by Telcel (about $1000.00) and it is mutilated (not unlocked) if you unlock it, forget about the warranty. It is an excellent telephone, it has an excellent camera, it is fast, works with 4GLTE network, and the battery last little just longer. I wish Best Buy to sell this this phone unlocked as soon as possible in the USA, so i can buy it UNLOCKED. All those Telcel users, let's keep our cell phones off during a weekend in order Telcel decrease their prices.

  • Its really amazing phone,,, I love to use it and would like to highly Recommends to friends and family....

  • You just need to insert a microsd card into the phone, create a music folder and place whatever songs you want in there and then select it as your ringtone from the microsd

  • if you want to change the ringtone for certain individual app notifications (ie: email alerts) you have to open the app itself and on the bottom right corner there are the vertical 3 dots...select that then setting then notification settings. For individual contact ringtones the dots are on the top right corner. Hope this helps.

  • so bad not available in my country philippines. but good thing razr is available..

  • Where can i download the Telcel rom? I have the rom from Canadian Rogers.

  • Use an app called Zedge

  • how to change ring tones after down loading ring tones cheers

  • i got jelly from telcel its much better! faster performance (500 more points on quadrant and antutu) everything loads faster, less alg less crashes and tehy removed the bloat too! good guy Moto

  • nope.. its not

  • hello, try to do it from the phone but it says this, Your device is updated. No update is required at this time

  • Hi ! I've had this phone for a 3-4 months now, and I can tell you that the GPS / GLONASS is crappy. The phone is quite fast, that's good ! And there is also another sensor on this phone : a Barometer ! Really !

  • JellyBean 4.1 It is now available for Mexico´s Telcel RAZR HD XT925, you have to do an OTA check at: Setting/Software Update, if it is not ready go to a Customer Service Center, more info @dteek_blog on twitter

  • its a wonderful divice

  • Mine last as long as my Atrix HD which has something like a 1750mah battery. I know the difference is that the cpu on Atrix HD is on the ondemand and the Razr HD is on interactive. does anybody know if there is a Stock rom which has the cpu on ondemand. I remember my Atrix only getting about 6 hours when it was set to interactive. The Razr HD still gives me all day.

  • I have this phone... one good day i left it in my desk while it was charging and my 2 year old nephew (little bastard) threw it into the toilet... it spent more than one hour there... it worked for a while (no more cell phone though and the battery was screwed up) but it died when the battery ran out. i cant charge it now and i have a nice paperweight...

  • No, it's "splash resistant" which is a far cry from waterproof.

  • can anyone on hand experience tell me if this phone is waterproof??

  • can anyone on hand experience tell me if this phone is waterproof??

  • Razr HD all the way. Feels premium, performs good. Lasts a lot and is durable.

  • what phone would u guys recommend, motorola razr hd or sony acro s,?? thanx

  • Just got this phone wasnt sure about getting a motorola as samsung and apple dominate the market now, but the specs were good so upgraded to this and it is amazing.. Battery life is soo good last 36hrs plus with heavy use and one charge i love it! so glad I didn't run with the crowd and jump on the bandwagon!! one happy customer :) super fast, looks nice, brill camera +++

  • This one performs better, looks a lot better, feels a lot better and RAZR HD comes with LTE. S3 doesn't bring LTE on all models.

  • Not true. The camera is great. I came from a HTC Sensation and the Razr HD camera takes far sharper and accurate shots.

  • I go this phone 2 days ago. It is totally amazing I amd in awe the speed, screen quality, battery life and build quility is brilliant. Totally Kills the Galaxy S3. This is the best phone in the world by far... Motorola razr HD is expensive but worth it!!

  • The performance of the RAZR HD is very higher. Owner XT925

  • Well depends how the battery! weak battery doesn't matter dual or quad...

  • (1 GB of RAM, Quad-Core 1.4 GHz) S3 or (LTE, 1GB of RAM, Dual-Core 1.5 GHZ) Razr HD... wich one is better??

  • this is by far the best 4g compatible phone I've used, the battery life is probably the longest I have seen, I can be on youtube the whole day, and at the end of the day be at 60% with the Galaxy S3 if I did the same I'd be down to 29%. it is smooth and quick to respond. Why would you buy anything else

  • z d camera beta dan dat of nokia N8

  • Pos = Unbelievable battery, great screen, very fast (even not being quad-core); Cons = Terrible camera (can't believe Motorola failed on this), few roms available; About battery, i used a Galaxy Nexus before, and this phone has exactly the double of battery comparing with GNexus. 1 hour normal use on XT925 = 5%. 1 hour normal usage on GNexus = 10%.

  • soon as i seen 1gb of ram it probably do the same thing my RAZR maxx does, it close background programs down that i am using, as to why i norm limit my browsing to Opera mini as it tends to not eat a lot of ram up (keeps background programs running), but do not underestimate the RAZR maxx or HD maxx (apart form there been no RAZR maxx HD in the UK....) the battery life on the maxx versions is how an smartphone should be i get 2 days of use and thats me Not turning any thing off (3g wifi BT 5-8hours of screen on time, any other smartphone your lucky if you get 3 hours screen on time) i been looking at the samsung S3 LTE UK (i9305) or the Note 2 LTE UK (n7105) due to that it seems to run very smooth has 2gb of ram (as the UK does not really have much of an LTE network yet, but i am finding that only the LTE phones have DC-HSPA+ 42mb so i can use that for now until LTE comes and both support all the networks in the UK for both 3g and 4g as not all 4G phones work on all networks) but the battery is still lacking on the S3 LTE version needs to be 3000 at least (but you can use an spare battery thought as its removable unlike other phones that have poor sized battery and is not removable) i guess i miss using this Moto Razr maxx phone i have (apart from having to reboot the phone when data fails to work some times and the small screen)

  • After the upgrade, I found to have the same problem but its pretty normal. All you need to do is click on your phone name to access whatever you need to do

  • this phone is ccrap, even on paper, especially the price. google might want to revise their strategy. start licesencing android os, perhaps. i hear they getting jealous of samsung..

  • I upgraded to Jelly Bean and i can no longer see the drive on my computer when connected with USB. Mass storage function is gone in menu. I can NOT drag and drop back and forth from computer to phone anymore. Is this normal? I have win xp.

  • can i get this fon in south africa

  • Hi.my bussiness totally depends on cell phone email.calls text message and many more.i had Samsung S3 and nokia lumina 920.they both failed against MOTOROLA RAZR HD LTE.first of all battery life. My samsung battery died arround 7 pm or 8 pm but motorola still shows 52 % left at 11 pm,second screen resolution is much better, camera is ok but not bad,so highly recommend this fon,,,thnx

  • Just got mine from clove yesterday, charged it up to full, and then almost uninterruptly using it over 3g downloading apps and browsing...etc non stop for 8 hours now, still have 25% battery power. Amazing! Worth mentioning, I'm on jb out of the box.

  • Don`t be so dumb - have you ever heard about google? why waste so much paper if one can just download the user`s guide?

  • How do I use this phone It comes without an instruction manual. I think it might be ok but what genius decided to omit a manual. Its going back tomorrow.

  • life time of battery in hours??

  • hi! I'm planning to buy this. Is it available in Saudi arabia??? please help. tnx

  • Its a great smartphone, I came from a Galaxy s3 and an iPhone 4S and I am extremely pleased with the work that Motorola did this smatphone. Fast, great screen quality and battery good durability, not to mention the quality of the material it is made. I recommend.

  • hey mate this phone may not launch in india i already having two of razr hd's if any contact me or fb.com/makkapatiharsha for any assistant regarding Motorola happy to help!

  • No, not Intel. It's the Qualcomm Krait CPU and Adreno GPU

  • Please add more information of the processor and chipset and gpu!!! is Intel or no?

  • You can but they would have to remove some screws and solder some parts around to accommodate the bigger battery. But it will cost you an arm and a leg since it would run 120 on ebay plus labor when you bring it to a phone store so your looking at least 200 after taxes.

  • Ok Ive had this phone for a month through Telcel in Mexico Design: Ive always considered myself to have small hands. I first thought that the phone would be too big for me...nut i can do one handed use (my thub reaches the other side of the screen) and it fits in all my pockets. Construction is great GG, kevlar looks still like brand new no scratches and i have a pvc bumper wich will etenalize my phone. The thing I didnt like were the on-screen controls there is more than enough space at the bottom to put physical capacitative buttons. I wonder why moto left it out its a waste of space..... My phone came bundled with a 16GB card and im thnkful for it as i will explain later Screen: Jaggedness my ass gsmarena is overly critical in camera quality and screen. I cant see individual pixels even if i put my nose to the screen. I read pdfs on my phone (ezpdf is the best) and there is no pixelization on it. Colors are good. Screen is bright but slightly reflective, if I´m in direct sunlight I have to see the screen at an angle. UI/OS: ICS is good i have a couple of widgets and launches. smart actions is great for putting settings like battery saving and night mode. i put as default gallery Quickpic app cuz the stock os wont play gifs and some images wouldnt fit to screen. Video player i placed as defauklt mxVideo cuz it woulnt play heavy files or xVid. APP2SD DOESNT WORK! I investigated and I foudn out why and it explains many things like my previous sentence. It seems that ICS on, Google stopped trying to pay M$ licencing for their formats FAT32 and XVid. So the internal memory has a foldel called /sdcard in which all main data like apps misuc downloads are. the internal mem cant be recognized by the computer as a usb mass storage cuz its not fat32 format (try to format it and you brick the phone; thats M$ licencing!) Sammy pays M$ and so their galaxys can be used a s mass storage and pass the apps to the SD. Fortunately, we have an microSD card, so i put my personal files in that and left the internal mem to sotre apps i cant move App2SD says the sd is emulated and cant move them.... just to note i have this much avail storage: 3.76 GB internal memory 1.84Gb left on my SD card. SMALL LAG when typing kind of like waht happens in word so theres no biggie there. Apps/Benchmarks Quadrant: 4772 Antutu: 9918 All apps work. I have a galaxy ace too and i hated seeing not compatible for your phone so thats why I got a flagship....every app ive downloaded works. gaming: vice city, nfs most wanted, nova3 mass effect they all run sure the phone gets toasty after 20 min and the battery runs dry in 6 hours but ive noticed no lag in those apps at all. i have all my needs in facebook viber pdf readers emulators and i enjoy using it all day long. Music: loudspeaker is LOUD. stereo quality sound to it. Heaphones still much the same and good sound. CAMERA: man, people are overly critical on this. noise color saturation bs. TL;DR camera is great, imaeges do come sharp and are very decent. if its one thing that phones have improved, its camera quality sometimes i think its the person taking the pic moving while the phone is taking a shot.....all my pics have been fine even taking macro shots of project progress on paper and sahring them on dropbox (zooming in no loss of quality at all no pixelization) i´ve always used auto setting and this is coming from someone who had a Nokia N8..... Baterry life: if i use it moderately (download documents from work, texts 40min calls 3 hours on wifi/LTE, music and most of the day idle) from 830am o 10 pm yesterday i had 47% left. even for toady that i went to 9gag and saw memes im down to 90% battery is great! overall score 9.5/10

  • Hi, do you think guys is possible to put the razr maxx HD battery into this phone (3300mah), and improve the battery life this way?

  • U lier, 2 days running and batt goes on... U say 8 to 10 hours, then u must let something drainning the batt, otherwise it should be different! I have my xt925 for about 4 months and it does a great job about the batt. I think it will be better when JB update comes to my phone (brazil). That's an excellent smartphone, and does a good job when it comes to batt life!

  • Much depends on what your usage is exactly, constantly streaming vids? facebook? what? make sure you dont have any apps or email accounts set to auto update or auto sync, make sure they are set to manual update or manual sync. I'm sure there's an app out there to check why your battery is draining so fast, mine lasts 4 days, sometimes 3 days and my wifi and bluetooth are always on.

  • The power control widget gives you the gps, blue tooth, brightness control give it a try

  • Hi guys, I have a question:All the Motorola phones are assembled in China? I searched about this, but I couldn't find a good answer. The phones on the images are assembled in China. The problem is I don't really trust them, and I am not the only one. It's strange that when I buy a Motorola, in fact I will get a Chinese phone. Because Motorola is an American company, all their phones should be made in America.

  • If your wi-fi is always on and actually runs active, not just idle. Then battery will drop in an instant. Check your apps and app settings. Perhaps your facebook is set to continous updates, or everey minute or something. Things like that will drain the battery very quickly.

  • I have an razr hd and it get the jellybean update. The phone is much better than the iphone 5. Battery runs up to 2 days of a lot wifi, 3g and gaming, but you need to configure the excelente smart actions do reach this batt time.

  • I have to disagree with that I've only had my RAZR HD for 5 days and gotta say battery life is really bad only get like 8- 10 hours of usage on the lowest brightness WiFi on with 3g network I dunno if its the phone but if you have a method to keep good battery life on the RAZR HD its appreciated if you do tell us cause. I'm gonna take the phone back cause I'm scared to use youtube, message or even turn it on its really bad what's the point of the phone I guess

  • Got my phone from Germany.. upgraded recently..

  • were are you located, i dont think canada has jelly bean yet. any issues with the blue screen problem.

  • you can download FM radio from android market

  • I love the razr HD.. upgraded to JB awesome experience.. only and biggest grouse that I have is the lack of FM radio.. a real let down for me.. i thought it was a basic feature and did not even bother checking before buying.. but overall a very good buy

  • I love the battery life its so freakin awesome. Using the internet is so fast and clean plus the screen is bright with beautiful rich colors. I'm so very satisfied with my RAZR HD.

  • thats funny

  • i live in Iran, please let me know if you find any channel to buy it, as far as i know moto has a software version which is called developer mode you can check it in moto website it can unlock the phone but removes the gaurantee of the phone, my email is [email protected] let me know if you bought it

  • great review, thanks.

  • I dunno why this phone never shined as much as s3 as so many features if not almost the same as s3

  • get the zengo apps..

  • Yes you can use any kind of ringtone its just tricky to do it. Try download hancent sms and use that as ur ringtone selector.

  • Where does it make this Unloacked Motorol?? Does it make by China? Does it work in Iran?? if it's make by China i can buy it. PLEASE TELL ME, it's make by China Or U.S.A ? you know the verizon model made by U.S.A

  • i dont like the fact that you can not use free music as ringotnes on this phone. why should we have to buy the music? that is the reason i didnt go to the i phone. thats more money on top of the bill you have to pay. it is almost more feasible to have a home phone again and do away with cell phones

  • I purchased this phone brand new in Canada and am currently selling it on Ebay. A potential buyer is asking me if this phone will work in Saudi Arabia. Does anyone know how I can answer this question? Or how I will know where this phone might work anywhere in the world? Your assistance is appreciated.

  • and one thing again, i read many review about this phone that it has an average camera. I totally disagree. This phone has a superb camera. Im a web developer and use photoshop also, so i use photoshop for editing my own pics also, and understand how important it is to get good pics through camera for post editing. So for me, superb camera quality.

  • I have recently got this phone through Fido Canada. Want to say that this phone is awesome. My wife has Samsung Galaxy S3 and my brother owns iPhone 5. So i can tell the pros and cons over the top models. I found camera to be super good. Photo capture in low light was better than both. Brings out more clearer picture and better colors without use of night mode. Full HD video recording is also super clear in day time, but for night time, its same as the Galaxy s3. Tiny dots in dark areas. Battery backup gave me 3 days (exactly 3 days, no less) of continuous use without using charger and without using battery saver mode. I put the screen brightness to auto. Usage was moderate. Installed softwares like whatsapp, navigation app with 600 mb maps data, all setup like contacts, gallery, widgets done in this 3 days time frame. I have internet on mobile so data connection is always on and is on LTE mode. Calling of about 90 minutes and using web browser for other 60 minutes, listening to songs for 40 minutes, chatting on whatsapp (not toomuch but with always on internet), camera usage (40,50 pics for testing camera in day and night + full hd video of 10 minutes) Same usage on my wifes Galaxy s3 gives 1 day backup, and on iPhone give a 3-4 hour extra. So getting 3 days backup was a god gift for me. User interface is also kewl, but only one problem i found that i dont like is, in the notification bar, i dont have shortcut icons to ringing mode, wifi on/ff, gps on/off, bluetooth on/off, change brightness etc. I used it on my previous phone a lot. Overall a perfect phone, i wont go for iPhone or S3 after this upgrade.

  • After updated to 4.1, some bugs are fixed including camera, ringtone volume and responsiveness. Thanks Moto!

  • photo quality day and without light? I have the s3 and doesn´t convinced me, come with touches whites.videos in full HD output with good quality?did not crash?battery last?

  • This a great phone i have had it for a week and it has great battery life and performance, there is no lag and no issues, its screen looks great, i have taken some really good pictures, reviewers have been critical about this, but it seems like a really good camera

  • Hi lothariocosta ,you can buy from this site,http://www.welectronics.com/gsm/Motorola/MOTOROLA-RAZR-HD-XT925.HTML

  • It sounds bubbly under water!

  • how splash proof is this phone, can it be used under water?

  • this fone avialable in india through ebay, amazon and naaptol

  • When it comes to UK? any body knows? waiting for it......

  • the bottom has 2 screws, should be to remove the battery and replace

  • This one has a Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU and an Adreno 225 GPU

  • I know it is good, but what if your battery goes bad after your warranty is over???

  • I'm using this phone about 2 weeks. Best phone I ever owned in the past (HTC Touch Cruize, Motorola V3, iPhone 4, Motorola Atrix HD). This phone is perfect to my taste. Look and feel are awesome. iPhone 5/Samsung Galaxy/LG suck comparing to it. Build and hardware quality is superb. Fast, beautiful screen, long battery life. I love it. Android ICS is so better than that childish iOS. SmartActions is so really smart. You set your location/time-based profiles and forget about changing volume, brightness or toggling wi-fi, GPS, etc. Everything works automatically as you define once. I've bought Rogers model for $430 locally, unlocked and rooted it and use on another network. If you can, get it!

  • that mark is the processor?

  • Price not yet announced on Expansys last time I checked, but available for pre-order.

  • I is possible to buy it online. And there's always ebay as well.

  • Where and how much can I purchase this for in the UK???

  • excellent phone, now i dont know what to do with it jajaja, root recomended its very easy and u can take all the apps that you dont want out of it. fast, good in calls, games awesome.

  • the phone takes a micro sim, not a mini sim. i found out the hard way and had to go back to the store to get a micro sim activated

  • i am also waiting for this new moto razr hd....... INDIA

  • i am also waiting for this new moto razr hd

  • After four years of iPhones I jumped into the Android world with the RAZR HD. My wife had had Android phones and they were poor so it was a leap of faith. I wanted the screen real estate otherwise I would have got the iPhone 5. No regrets so far. It is well made (my iPhones were NOT well made), feels nice in the hand and is a good weight. The Smart Actions are a great feature. Android is still clunky but there are enough nice things to keep me happy. But Motorola do not have the first clue about customer support. Their websites are crappy, I can't find my phone on them to get answers and I could go on for ages on how frustrating it is go get the phone to talk to Windows. I gave up on one PC (latest Win7) and am using it on another. 0/10 for that. Apple just works on most occasions apart from syncing to more than iTunes library. So overall it is 8/10.

  • w8ing to buy............from india

  • When will motorola bring out the HD dock? If it was available today, I would buy it and phone tomorrow :)

  • razr is best

  • when would this phone be launched in India??? have been waiting for this phone before its launch actually... :(

  • Dear Gsmarena, please put some pictures of this phone. Thank you.

  • hey moto !! release this in the philippines now !! many filipinos are waiting !!

  • The NFC isn't in the Features, it's in Data with Bluetooth, USB and stuff..

  • How much does it cost in Dubai? When it will be available in Dubai.

  • Razr HD has installed NFC yes, do not know why not listed in description.

  • gsmarena review is in the way . gooood

  • Perfect phone... But... No NFC!?!?... Why??? Most mid range phones are having NFC so whats the problem??? I was looking for an alternative to S3 because although it has all the features I feel it will become common... I prefer to have something different. It seems no handset is perfect!

  • Proc in 28 nn ! great ......

  • This is smartphone buddy. If u want good camera & good smartphone. U need Buy DSLR & this one. :-)

  • I am enjoying the phone, it's very quick, has decent battery and ease of use is fairly good. But I absolutely don't understand why Google would improve on the camera, it's shocking! And that noise it makes is enough to wake the dead

  • please review this phone GSM arena ...

  • please review this super phone . thx gsmarena

  • i love gsmarena review

  • gsmarena this phone came out weeks ago and yet you havent reviewed it, please review this awesome phone!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't think it going to support flash.

  • I see this device is already available in Germany and France. Does anyone have any idea if and when it might hit UK? I'm ready to upgrade now and was going for RAZR i, but will hold off to check this if it's "coming here soon".

  • You make comment without using this phone. This phone has bigger batetry tahn SGS3. 2500MAh vs.2100MAh.This phone is coming to Canada with unlocked bootloader whereas SGS3 still has the locked bootloader. I think you should do your homework harder before even make usch a nonsense coment.

  • I am getting one!

  • it's a MICRO SIM and not the mini sim as it is described here.

  • Why not give it 10/10 ??

  • well done moto . this phone is the best in the woyld . best battry life best android best body best sound best camera and best display.review please

  • Can Gsmarena please do a review and detailed comparison with Galaxy S 3 4G? Review....review review

  • Hi guys. Can anyone who has the phone please help me? Can you check if the razr hd has bad signal on 3g/4g and wi-fi or other reception issues? The razr had some kind of signal issue when holding in the hand. Im sure this will also help other gsmarena readers too. Many Thanks

  • I just get it and use it for a day. Nice finish with good materials. The os is flawless and smooth. Top call quality and 4G is amazing. The on screen buttons sacrifice the 4.7 screen of real estate. Camera is a little bit better than average. Overall 9 out of 10.

  • for world wide . please moto reviewwwwwwwww this super phone . please dear gsmarena

  • Thanks, you are really a great help. I will check their site now, hope they have english mode despite being French in origin. :D

  • too true

  • too true

  • Does anyone know when this is due in the UK or when amazon.de will stock it?

  • LOL another spammer paid by sammy to do black propaganda.

  • SOSH is the low coast brand of ORANGE French provider leader. I'm not sure they will organise foreign deivery because they use to work only in France. Try !

  • Quadbaqnd as in spec on front page. tut tut..

  • Not good battery,camera poor,video record poor,No ROMS,locked bootloader..Took mine back for SGS3.

  • How can I upgrade my RAZR HD software to ICS ?

  • I Like it!

  • Hello, I don't know if the information reach here : Moto allow to unlock the bootloader (only for some countries, US non inclued)!! See here for details : Such a good news for me !!

  • Here it is : Check "paiement en une fois". I don't know for the delivery ...

  • and what about wlan?does it have dual band or not?thank you

  • No, 3300mAh is the the HD MAXX. Exclusive to Verizon for a little while first. Anyway, 2530 is quite good :)

  • it says Standard battery, Li-Ion 2530 mAh. wasnt this supposed to be 3300mah batter like the razr maxx?? anyone?

  • 500 euros, i can't find this shosh website. do they offer international delivery? thanks

  • Persia date razr hd upcoming?

  • No, you can get it from Shosh at 500 euros (but for delivery country, i don't know). Does anyone try the USB On-the-go functionnality ? It is to use an USB key or a keybord , ... in the phone. I wonder know if it is working better than on the razr 1 (power problem).

  • This is the phone i am waiting for but here in Africa it is a bit hard to get but i know it is now available in france but at a big hefty price of 619 euros that is way too from the phone company sfr Here is the www.sfr.fr/mobile/telephone-portable/RAZR-HD-MOTOROLA?vue=000029.

  • mine lasts me two days of moderate use. If I use gps I can destroy the battery in 16-18 hours. By far the best battery life of any handset Ive ever had. Yet to be able to use the whole battery in under a day whilst not going crazy with abuse.

  • Your XT910 has got a bit low brightness. It's maximum brightness is measured to 361cd/m2 whilst the new version of same screen size and resolution in the RAZR i is 497cd/m2. If your screen isn't bright enough, check to see if everything is optimized for maximum brightness. Turn off automatic adjustment and set is to max, then got to settings - screen - brightness and uncheck "show power saver" (or something like that in English or your language). For normal use indoors it should be bright enough, and usable depending on strenght and angle of sunlight outdoors. This RAZR HD has a MUCH higher screen resolution giving you better pixel density and clarity/details. Don't have any exact measurement of brightness of the HD yet.

  • Man sorry to dissapoint battery life isnt something this moto can be proud of, yes i said to myself wow 2530 mah it should last more than a day - it doesnt im a moderate user and the battery dies before midnight at around 35-40 % brightness. In stand-by mode however it lasts prety long less than a % for an hour on a 3 g network.I hope it will get better with an update. There is a promised JB update before new year.

  • Im having it since a week from o2 germany.Sorry to dissapoint the pre-installed ics has a few problems so beware.I hope moto will fix it with the JB update. And battery life isnt something to be proud of, it does have a 2530 mah battery but software>hardware.

  • so this is already available? (based on the website that is). So the day this will be released is near

  • Orange France and SFR operator already makes it available in their country...SFR says they have it on stock. is this possible? weird is that Moto' official website make is available in France and Germany.

  • RAZR HD , have a good SAMOLED ? And Brightness ? ! have a RAZR XT 910 , form me a think that is poor ( poor Brigtness ). But , i love this mobile XT 910 . thanks

  • I don't know how to buy in the claro store, much more, i don't understand spanish

  • Yes, the LG LCD screen is much BRIGHTER - and better calibrated - then the mentioned Samsung S3 and Note (I) AMOLEDS, which currently are not at all the best AMOLEDS available. The fact that you noticed that the 750 cd/m2 Optimus 4X looks brighter than the 330 CD/m2 Galaxy S3, is not particularly impressive. Twice the possible brightness really helps on that, too bad it has nothing to do with resolution, even though the LG also has better ppi as well with it's smaller screen. The two devices are also completely differently calibrated. LG is fairly properly calibrated, and Samsung is never properly calibrated. But primarely it's the weakly lit S3 which will only do well under moderat lighting contitions which fails it. Actually I think the S3 is one of the absolute weakest lit screens Samsung has ever out in a phone, and I don't relly get why - apart from saving money of course. Note II has 478cd/m2 in additon to better sub-pixel distance and sppi. Importance of (s)ppi decreases by the size of each (sub) pixel, in eithe technology, but pentile SAMOLED has a benefit over LCD here. The RAZR i, as an example, has almost 497 cd/m2 brightness, same as most LCDs and even brighter than note II. Not as good resolution, though it's a mid range device with smaller screen as well. It's main weakness is color orange and single withe lines, not when more than one. Note vs note II, pixel size and distance is better in note II and not to mention that brightness has naturally improved along with the reduced pixel distance and higher subpixel count. The original note could have had far larger sub pixels, and not all that wasted space between each sub pixel, which also made it more dim than it could have been. And again, that (original note) AMOLED screen is no more similar to the SAMOLED in the RAZR HD, than the LG Optimus G LCD is to the one in Sony's Tablet S. A close friend of mine works in a cellphone store, and I get to demo test just about all new phones and tablets they get them. LCD is - unfortunately - still a slow technology and dying in most of it's areas. Making them fatter to try and squeeze in backlighting LEDs hasn't helped much either. For proper blacks, contrast and panel responsivness, (S)AMOLED is a must. Of course a large sub pixeled, low sub pixel spaced non-pentile amoled is what's desired on -especially on larger screens -, and the smaller the pixel distance - the better. Most pentile SAMOLEDs with high ppi outshines LCDs of same size and ppi by far on sub 5" devices. Not that there are so many of them. Just as most low ppi LCDs outshine similar sized samoleds with same ppi. Due to the difference in space between each (sub) pixel. Neither technology is the better one in all areas. On tablets I still prefer IPS panels. However, just as AMOLEDS (pentile or not) can have very small sub pixels and thereby larger spaces between each pixel, so are there examples of LCD panels with small pixels and too large pixel distance giving the same visible grid effect as a pentile, only on all colors - not just single line whites and a few more. Not all SAMOLEDs are the same and not all LCDs are the same. Both technologies can have too small (sub) pixels with too large distance between them making a bad, visible grid effects. LCDs have usually been more bright, but the new gen SAMOLEDs (apart from the one in S3) are showing the same brightness.

  • I like motorola phones, I've used many of them. But... They are expensiver than comptetitors, difference almost 150 eur. Even expensive with a mobile subscription... Motorola need to lower its phones prices.

  • Some typos, 720p* being one of them :)

  • NO, you have not seen this SAMOLED screen with this ppi. The note II is a completely different device, with a different screen and screen size. Same resolution on a MUCH LARGER display! Use your head! It's not at all comparable. The closest you will get is the S3 which still isnt' the same screen. Not the same pixel size. You clearly don't understand how different sizes of pixels and subpixels work. Two screens - regardless of pen-til or non-pentile - with same size and resolution can still have different sizes on the pixels and thereby the one with the smallest pixels will have more space between each pixel making black lines visible. Why do you think that at approx 3 meters veiwing distance the human eye is incapable of differing between 710p and 1080p on a 50" screen? Our eyes simply can't separate the details, it's all about density, pixel size and veiwing distance. It's not about your eyes or mine, it's about human limitations.

  • I like the battery more, @last a smartphone that u wont have to charge everyday. Good built quality, good processors and storage and it looks good.

  • I saw in one site that this IS AVAILABLE but only to BRAZIL, by CLARO company... but i am also waiting for this phone...

  • Here it shows as available, but I couldnt find it listed in any of the retailers.

  • What an amazing piece of technology , and also let's not forget to admire the build quality . Simlpy amazing .

  • just plain impressed by the build quality of this phone its made with Kevlar for gods sake , haha doesn't get any better than that

  • does anyone know if there's a promised update support ?

  • Hei when will you review this phone!! ??

  • Hey reviewers, please bring a comparision between RazrHd, XperiaT and Iphone 5 in details.

  • please tell us when will be the beast be unleashed!? hehe.. great specs. I can live with this new phone for decades. hopefully they've made a compact 4.7 edge 2 edge unit with this one. but nonetheless this is a great phone for me..

  • thanks for that info, i am now very eager to have my razr hd soon. to the spammers - go to a different room

  • Only YOUR eyes. We who have used HD AMOLED phones can see it, and so say all the Note II reviewers as well.

  • Then tell us why the Note II is such a huge improvement over the old NOte? Because of teh new matrix, its a fact that everyone can immediately see that NOte II is way better, sharper and clearer, even the review on this site says it. And hold an Optimus 4X beside a S3, isnt the Optimus much clearer??? Everyone can see it, its so obvious. I have used Note and other AMOLED HD phones, you have not i think. You are talking about ONE pixel, but on Pentile one pixel is 1px and 2/3 wide, thats 1.66 pixels. And u cannot see it? then dont get a HD phone, and get your facts straight

  • That would be understandable if the had qHD-res on it's 4.7" display, however it doesn't, and you can't see any trace of it's pentile matrix on that resolution over that screen area. Our eyes are incapable of separating the pixels at this density.

  • Get your facts straight before you come spamming here. What you once had makes no difference, it's not the same screnn, not size nor resolutione. "I once had a plasma that didn't have good enough blacks, so obviously nothing can have changed right?" Wrong. You can not see any pixelation with this high ppi, pentile or non-pentile. Pentile sucks at low ppi, but space pattern is not visible at high ppi, the pixels are too small for the human eye to observe separately at normal - and very close - viewing distance. And when it comes to colors, Samsung and HTC have been great fans of cartoon colors when calibrating their amoleds, Motorola has not. Though they do offer you to boost the colors IF you want to with colorboost on these new models. I don't like the ugly calibrated sammy and HTC displays at all. Not did I like the horrible pentile of the HTC desire, to easy to see the pixel space. Just as badly calibrated as the S2 as well. S3 is horrible too, but not as extreme as the S2 and Desire The SAMOLED is an advantage with both bright whites - hopefully as bright as the RAZR M (almost 500cd/m2) - and infinite blacks, not gray and washed out as the Xperia.

  • Yes its a simple choice, RAZR HD has AMOLED Pentile display, that rules it out of teh equation. Its too bad really, i like the RAZR HD more than Xperia T and TX, but i already had an AMOLED phone with Pentile before and im not interested in their pixelation, plus the immature cartoon like colors. And who knows, maybe this is like all SGS fones, with a blue tint where it should be white. Even SGS2 ha this so its not connected to Pentile matrix, just another proof of AMOLED being an immature technology. RAZR HD has many advantages over Xperia T but none as severe as the AMOLED disadvantage. I wish next time i can get a Motorola, maybe if they use the new AMOLED matrix used in Galaxy Note II it will be acceptable. It bugs me that i have to get a Sony, i wish i didnt but pentile is NEVER AGAIN.

  • great phone!!! just wish it were proper RGB rather than pentile, cause then it would have been perfect :(

  • is it available in india? i'm so desperate for dis phone.. plss lemme know bout d product availability in india..!

  • Simple choice really. Similar height and weight, but Moto is 1mm slimmer and has both larger and better display, better design and much better battery! :) And I really don't get why the Xperia T only supports up to 4 fingers, even my old Milestone supported 10 - not that it was an easy fit :p

  • Thats what they said about the Star-Tac. =)

  • razr is great

  • razr of course. a look that will never be outdated

  • Razr HD.

  • Moto is excellent specially Razr HD..... go for it...Waiting when this beauty arrives

  • Razr HD or Xperia T? Hmmm i like both more especially the batter on Moto. Which one should i go for?

  • please is this a global version of motorolla mobile ?? and when it will availablr in a medddile east ??? im eager to buy it

  • sure .we can use this super phone around the world .

  • If i bring it from US can it work in India please help?

  • ohhh, so this November then... thanks

  • Just heard from MOTO Rep. Should be Avail. in AUS from Telstra Nov. 2012 ... Looks ausome in the flesh and feels really expensive/proper value unlike the cheap plastic feel of GSIII. New UI by MotoGoogle is a REAL win ... Yay, no more Moto Blur!

  • Heard any rumor on when will it hit the stores?

  • what about chip set,gpu and price

  • So great. I am pretty much decided to have the razr hd, but this thing is really impressive and i have now second guesses

  • There is an increasing trend of removing a radio device from smartphones, the trend I don't really understand. Radio on phone is not used as a stationary device, but comes really handy while being mobile (e.g. traveling a lot on foot, sporting). For example, I spend about ~200 hours per month cycling, and while doing that, I use my phone to track with GPS, listen to mp3 OR radio. Not having a radio module is a big drawback for me and it sadens me deeply to see no future Motorola device will have a radio device :(

  • please review gsmarena review this super phone

  • Actually the radio thing isn't really important for the fact that you can download many radio apps from google play, let's say tune in lite that gives you access to thousands of radio stations around the world or for 0.99 $ you can get the tune in pro that allows you to record from radio stations and use one as an alarm clock which is very cool to have, this phone is mighty with every single detail in it, so far there hasn't been any app that requires a 2gb of ram, not to mention a quad core processor, in the years to come when you will be able to play real time world of warcraft or call of duty mw3 on your phone that's when you will need a quad core processor and many gigs of ram, android is being upgraded updated a version at a time, if android os was at its perfection in terms of snappy and user interface, a single core and 512 mb of ram would be perfectly smooth and snappy, that's what have been proven in the wp os and ios, i'm an adroid user and will always be, but they have to work harder on their os, because i don't really have to get a phone that has a quad core 2 gigs of ram just to enjoy smooth interface and zero lagging

  • awsome

  • I'm in love with the Razr M more than the Razr HD but which that the Razr M have a 4.5 inch HD screen. Still the Razr M is a nice deal for me because. 1. The 4.3 inch compact still good for me. So pocketable, same size than some high end phones like the GS2 and Razr or Maxx, which are still nice phones in the market. 2. The Razr M screen is qHD not HD but it's more colorful the the GS3 with HD screen because of Motorola's Colorboost display technology and AMOLED. 3. The Razr M come with a battery of 2000 mAh almost like the GS3 which have 2100 mAh but the Razr M have little more battery juice than the GS3 because of Motorola Smart Action and a smaller screen 4.3 inch compare to the GS3 4.8 inch. 4. Moto build quality with Water resistant the Razr M beat any high end phone for any company on the build quality. 5. Razr M performance and speed are very good. The benchmark shows the Razr M being almost fast than the GS3 on Quadrant. But clearly on other benchmarks options. The RAZR M scored a solid 4,495, far above the 2,768 smartphone category average and the 2,495 provided by the LG Lucid. However, the Samsung Galaxy S III scored a higher 4,731. The RAZR M provided a strong score of 7,335 on the graphics-centric An3DBench test, better than 7,119 category average and the Galaxy S III (6,994), but about on par with the LG Lucid (7,396). So, why would I choose the Razr M over the GS3? It's simple the Razr M is very cheap compare to the GS3. With $99 for the Razr M I have a phone that can beat the best phone in the market and cost you like $299 for the GS3 but the Razr M with a compact size, nice design, high speed, on of the best screen display with Colorboost qHD, Amolded, best build quality water resistant, impressive lasting battery life. The Razr M is a mid range phone which performing like actual high end phone like the GS3, HTC ONE X with some better options but really much cheaper than them. Thanks Motorola Google. Here is the full review of the Razr M.

  • I completely agree with you! Who needs a radio these days? :P

  • Why no gyroscope!?

  • Are you hearing what you are saying dude? radio signal? as if that is a problem, unless you are a radio freak. so sorry the rest of the world DOES NOT need radio. you must be someone from a country that really loves radio. just buy yourself a radio. You need a radio and NOT a phone. And if you are smart enough, you can ALWAYS download a radio app using this phone. To hell with those buying a phone for radio, just buy a radio PERIOD

  • Motorola is back in the game, this will be a nice phone, have a better design than SGS 3, specs is more than adequate, HD screen. Dual-core with 1.5 GHz is plenty enough for a smart-phone, quad-core will just use way too much battery. Hopefully the battery on this phone can last more than a day of use.

  • Up till today, no other mobile phone brand's in-call sound quality can compare to Motorola phones. ... Too bad Motorola is basically out of the Asian market !!!

  • how do you know? Have you noticed about all the problems of the razr, radio signal,.....? Please just inform yourself before saying bullshit!

  • check 91mobiles.com 4 tentative release date in india

  • NO man, the phones without the word Droid are global phones.

  • this phone is US only!

  • in q4 most of the mobiles comes with dual core 1.5 processor

  • I will wait for razr maxx hd (inter. Version) cool features!

  • motorola is the best.. pls review

  • Yes this phone defenetily going to relaise in India on November or December just like last yerar razr xt910. I am also eagerly waiting to own this great hand set

  • I am really torn between this and the Atrix HD. What do you guys think?

  • reviewwwwwwwwww thx gsm

  • Will they release ths phone in india plz someone reply ???????

  • My god amazing mobile phone

  • this is the best phone in the market

  • I still can't believe that Motorola closes it's operation in a lot of country in Asia. I thought after Google acquire Motorola Mobility they'll be in full blast.

  • super phone on slim

  • I like Samsung, and they will be on the first place at me. And NO, I am not going to be a Sony fan, but this not means I will never buy a Sony product. I want to tell you, that the Intel Atom CPU is very slow, as one of my friends said. I believe Krait CPU's are much better then Intel Atom.

  • great!

  • I know you like Samsung and believe that Motorola want beat Samsung phone. And you use to like SonyErricson but Samsung win your heart which is normal because they make best phones the Galaxy series but Sony is more powerful than Samsung with better camera. Are you going to go back on Sony? They are also very good, even LG with the fastest CPU performance actually. And if Samsung was the best phone is more because of their powerful CPU. In my point of view Motorola will take over with the Intel CPU because this is what Motorola need to beat Samsung and maybe to improve the camera quality. Now Motorola beat Samsung on the phone display HD screen with Colorboost on the Razr HD and the Maxx HD screen beat any Samsung in the market.

  • i think since Google bought Motorola mobility then the OS should be Native JB stright from Google then Motorola customized faster , better and customers will like it more.

  • dear gsmarena team . please make full review for this munster / revieeew please

  • someone use my nickname and use it for trolling! in does reading does post in some section in this site! its not me (iSJ5 from t7Xh-k is real) thanks! Im using this nicknamed more than a year! in all forum site that im visiting! some one want me to out on this site! THANKS!

  • I like this phone a lot everything seems to be perfect for me except for one. I'm just not a fan of their so called "on screen buttons" . It's just a waste of screen real estate. I prefer what LG did to their 4x HD.

  • No, I am not hiding behind Tizen, how could I do it when there are no Tizen devices yet? I am only curious about that OS, and I am also curious about Firefox and Jolla OS, but I know Android is the KING! And yes, I am a Samsung fan, but probably my next phone will be a Motorola. I am NOT a Samsung ONLY fan you know. I respect Motorola, I like their huge battery capacity and their design.

  • I like the design and the specs, but unfortunately it doesn't have FM radio, a must have for me...

  • Stop hiding behind Tizan OS or Android OS because you are a Samsung's fan more than Android's fan. Did you ever get a virus on your Android phone? Those Anti virus are just for business purposes and is based on Linux and is free virus. On my GS2 running 4.0.3, I got no Anti virus installed for more than 6 months and my phone just run properly. If Tizan was that good and full of applications, Samsung couldn't use Android but they keep on trying to release something better than android but Android is improving so fast.

  • this is my dream phone .

  • Well yes, there will be only a few apps at the beginning. I want to share this video with you. It's about Tizen OS. Enjoy.

  • Definitely my next phone well I'm used my nexus s from past 1yrs n I quite happy with my phone but this is the phone what I wondering my next phone

  • Definitely my next phone

  • maybe the problem of the new os's is the lack of apps! but if you only want is to expirience it you will not expected much apps. that android and iOS have! but i think new developer of that os's can do much better (maybe in hardware) to coutch the attention of the public!

  • I think you're right, WP can't support such a high camera sensor yet. I am curious what high resolution can Android support? Altek Polaroid has 16 MP with optical zoom.

  • Well, I think their phone can take very good pictures with that sensor, here not the quality of the camera is the problem, but the OS itself. WP is so boring, I hate it much! I am an Android fan, and I know Android is very good. One of my friends use a Single Core HTC Sensation XL(on Gingerbread) and it has lo lag at all as he said if I remember right. The only problem with Android are the viruses. :( If Android will going down I will go for Jolla OS, or for Tizen OS. I think Samsung is going to make Tizen to be an awesome OS.

  • thats funny! i dont know what nokia mean in pureview technology in just 8.7mp? i have no idea whats that realy mean that technology!

  • this phone is greaaaaat /

  • i think widows phone does not support that hardware and nokia making a scuse! nokia promise that they making a lumia pureview like 808pv running on sbos with are 41mp (38mp max) but sadly they fail it! look at the two new lumia phones almost the memory are the only deference!

  • Well, shame on them, I really believed that video was took with the Lumia 920, and I wow-ed it. I am sorry for Nokia, they will going down much more than this. They should adopt an other OS.

  • yes!

  • About which company are you talking, Nokia?

  • you right google have a good marketting strategy unlike the liar and disapointed one if they continue this they really collaps! He he he! BTW i mean announce!

  • hey man! please stop repeating this post! or else you will be ban aswell!

  • Motorola is getting stronger.

  • Adobe flash player on ics?is that true..and why my 4.0.4 can't use that anymore..

  • Adobe flash player on ics?is that true..and why my 4.0.4 can't use that anymore..

  • wow! moto. release so many phones today!

  • No Radio? :( Than i must buy GS3 or Xperia...

  • Adreno 225

  • no gpu ???

  • Dude check out lumia 820 and 920

  • very thin and huge battery. while nokia windows phoen are thick and ugly

  • Super Amoled = Screen Burn-In. I'll pass.

  • I want this! It looks so cool! Bring it to Europe please ASAP. I am happy to see a Motorola phone in white. They put large batteries on their phones, and a big battery is very important at a smart phone. I never had a Motorola smart phone before, but I want to buy one ASAP. :)
