Motorola RAZR i XT890 - User Reviews

  • Hello everyone I have possessed this mobile since 2013 up to now and it is still working on original Andriod 4.4.2. I did not replace nothing in it but the glass which I broke dropping it down on solid concrete. It is my best phone I ever had. I also possess another one much more recent model from different producer, but neverthereless this one is my favourite one. Due to some hardware limitations and sites bloated with media it isn't as snappy in internet as it was years before. It can play video up to 1080p with no lags and frame drops. The only issue is with video encoded with x265 HEVC which it is able to play at not more than 540p, at higher resolutions it looses the sync and makes frame drops. I highly recomend this piece of hardware. It is shame that newer phones cannot be such handy and sturdy as this one.

  • Best camera on a phone I ever had, even to this day, I received many complements regarding my photos taken with this phone.

  • Razr i was an amazing phone. It finally died from water damage after 4.5 years of heavy usage. Im very sad! But I am proud to have owned this beast

  • This phone was rubbish. From the beginnig. The management of RAM memory in a stock system (4.1) was completelty misguided. After restart I had ~500MB of free RAM, after surfing internet a bit the ammount of free RAM decreased to about ~200MB. There was no way to clean its memory. Closing apps, "RAM cleaning" apps, nothing worked. Only restart helped. The phone was getting very hot on even on simple tasks like surfing the internet. When the phone was hot, the battery was drained very fast. If you want a working phone, forget about 32bit Intel processors. My next device is Sony Z3 compact and it's much better. RAZR i is my worst phone. It's a nightmare.

  • Hi Krika How did you manage to update your Razri? I agree with all your comments about the phone but I am still stuck on 4.0.4.0. No matter what I do it simply will not update the software

  • even iphone7 2016 can't match screen to body ratio Razr i 2012 68%. Motorola prove its technology much advance

  • A great phone. The screen was lovely though eventually suffered from burn-in after a fortnight running sat nav software on full brightness (Oops!) The thing that killed it though was a corrupted data partition stopped it booting. I had it fixed once under warranty, but the second time it went told me there was only trouble ahead if I tried to get it fixed it again. I replaced the Razr i with the 4G version of the original Moto G which was only just 'equivalent' in spec despite being a lot newer and was nowhere near as good in its build/ feel.

  • Fantastic phone since 2012, it lasted me until summer 2016, where I have to admit that the Samsung S7 was and is a better phone, finally. Believe me I tried a lot of high end stuff over the years to replace my Razr i, but only the Samsung S7 never made me come back to it. The only thing it has over the S7, is the kevlar cool design, and the compactness. Camera is fantastic on the S7, the battery and days of usage is longer lasting on the S7. I thought I would struggle with the S7 size, but I was wrong. I do not however want a bigger phone than the S7. But the fact that it lasted me and outperformed all other phones from 2012-mid 2016, is a fantastic achievement. If I were Moto and reading this, I would just make an updated version, 5 inch Amoled, kevlar design, as big a battery as possible and top processing power, and they will have a winner again.

  • Sorry, I forgot to mention, that I never updated to KitKat, that Android-Version was awful :-( Still on 4.1.2. The razr's were very solid and reliable phones, now everything has glass and breakable stuff everywhere...

  • @Anonymus don't say that, I'm using this device for 4 years now, sure it's old. You cannot compare this to actual phones. As it came out in 2012 it was a great phone, mine is still working good, even the battery. This was a quality device with a new direction (intel soc) for smartphones and I still like it.

  • I regret ever spending my hard earned money on such an annoying and godforsaken device

  • Hello! How can i solve my issue? my Motorola XT890 need to be programmed! which version do i need to install and how? Thanks for your feedback.

  • Don't say that, don't buy motorola - well, there is no motorola anymore...sadly -, just because maybe you got a faulty one (can be happen with any brand's product), or you were incompetent for well use that, and overloaded with silly apps, viruses from adverts...etc The best mobile phone I ever had. My one three and half years old, and is still working properly with the same two days battery time, like it was only one week old (ok, it got a root unlock after the update to kitkat, that is killed the phone, but rooting is solved the problems) More then one year I can't find a replacement phone, because all* on the market is "shity phone" - quoted you. * Not all, of course, but I just need a stable, durable good looking phone with min. two days battery life, and the durability and stability is very questionable with the today phones.

  • Don't buy this phone. I have problem with my XT890 every 15-20days freeze and must instal sistem. I cant even sell this shity phone for 2 years. Save your nerves don't buy motorola

  • Please anytime i inset a sim card in to my phone MOTOROLA RAZR i XT890 they will  ask me to proved SIM NETWORK PIN TO  UNLOCKED MY PHONE and also i don't know what NETWORK PIN So please help me with that problem to unlock my  MOTOROLA XT890 NETWORK.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, Krika here again, I am now testing the Samsung S7 after having stuck with the Razr i the last four years, and no phone was good enough to replace it. I will report after a few weeks, buts pricewise its not a fair comparison. But I stil chose the Razr i over the S6 last time I was given that one, so will be interesting to see how the S7 holds up. Initial impressions are not good. No speed advantage in daily use/menus, but not slower either. (You must have a fresh Razr i without many heavy apps installed like facebook etc, or else Razr i will be slower) Way worse ergonomics due to size and slippery backside on the S7. Now if the battery is better than the Razr i (At least when the Razr i was new..) I might consider keeping it. This will be interesting. Stay tuned!

  • best phone history

  • Absolutely agree - I still have mine & love it so yes please Motorola a Razr i upgrade is long overdue

  • All rooting info, Cyanogenmod installation instructions and other development info, can be found at xda developers. I looked all over for instructions, and used XDA and other google findings for how to root and install CM. I thought I would do it easily and in 1 hour, but I had to spend a few hours to be able to do it. So be patient and take your time. I am now curious if the new Sony E5, with a 4.6" screen, can be a worthy replacement for this phone. It all depends on how long the battery will last I guess. If similar or better to the Razr i, I might give it a go. I've tried all the Samsung Galaxy S3-S6's to find a replacement, but always go back to the Razr i. S7 looks promising, battery is ok, but unit is a little too big and not robust like the Razr i unfortunately. But the Razr i's lifetime is coming to and end either I like it or not. It's been with me since 2012. What a great handset!

  • Thanks for the advice, but can you specify where to look for relevant tutorials and files when having to re-install android (for those of us that are newbies)?

  • Nearly full day of moderate usage (internet browsing & social networks) on stock ROM

  • Motorola Razr I. The absolutely best phone that has come out the last few years. i still use mine like it was 2012 still, but we are in 2016, 4 years later. I just wish something similar came out from Moto, since after testing loads of high end Samsungs, and later Motorola phones, they just aren't as good as the Razr i. Now battery life is starting to be same or even better on the newest flagships, like the Galaxy S7, but you still have to struggle with a larger phone. And you have to pay 10 times as much for these phones compared to a NEW Razr i. It will not last forever with todays usage of apps and internet, since Android version is getting older, but I can have whatever new phone I want from work, but still stick with this one. My 50 cents. Motorola, listen, we want a updated razr i, maximum 4.5" screen, same kevlar design, Amoled screen, faster processor, and even better battery life than the old one. I'd pay Galaxy S7 money for that.

  • Exactly. Purchased this phone as it came out. Still in use. Grat phone.

  • If no updates or resets were done in 3 years, you should try this first. Then possibly get Cyanogenmod, have someone install it for you unless you are a technical person. And then try not to install too many resource hungry apps. I also installed a new battery in mine, and it keeps going for up to two days with normal usage. This was quite simple to do myself. It could last up to 2.5 days when it was new almost 4 years ago, so only slightly better, but that was Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

  • I have had Cyanogenmod installed on my phone a few months now. It brought it back to the initial snappiness it had 3 years ago. Its based on Android 4.4, Cyanogenmod 11. Its not as stable as factory ROM, but works for me in daily use, and I am picky how my phone handles. So for now it looks like I can use it at least another year, for a total usage time of close to 5 years! Thats incredible in todays market. Pick a new one up for 100 USD today on Ebay, why spend 1000 USD on a S7??

  • had this for nearly 3 years now. tough and sturdy phone and in its day very fast. increasingly laggy however and i use google sheets on it a lot which it is struggling with now.

  • i have a question. Is there any Costom ROM based on android Lollipop? Lika CyanogenMod or anything like that? Really want to have android L on this Phone

  • I agree had mine just as long and wish for the same I'm a painter and decorator and I give this phone some proper abuse and it still works like new all other phones I've had I've either broke or they develop faults I'm sticking with Motorola for good now only annoying thing I can think of is the camera button is really sensitive and that's about it! Hello moto :)

  • traded a moto e & got a superb example of a razr i - 12 months old ...however the keypad is pants compared to the moto e , appears same (is the same layout) but screen so much less tolerant of text imput !!! dreadful comes to mind really, am soooo disappointed, using google dictation now as easier than punching the letters , which ends up , as eg. yhankd fir lidtbimg ti ny post argh ! ....... one for sale here soon - immaculate Any similar experiences?

  • For everyone having issues with the bootloader (bootloop or sth like that): Press and hold Volume down and Power button. This will cause a restart. When you hear the double vibration, release the Power button but hold Vol. down. You'll see the Red M logo for a few secs but then you'll get to the "fastboot-mode". you can navigate through the menu with Volume Buttons. Select "Reset" and press Power Button to confirm. This is a TOTAL reset and will delete ALL of your data! It will also delete your Android-system. You'll need to flash the device and "reinstall" Android. There's a 4.3 build for Razr I available on the Internet. Flash the device with RSD Lite and start it. Then you can update the Razr I to 4.4.2 KitKat over the Air (via WLAN). Hope i could help.

  • only if you are in silence.

  • how about battery life of mototrola razer i xt890

  • Fine!

  • Hi all, Gotta few questions that I'm hoping someone will be able to answer First up,is there any way of silencing incoming txt alerts,I know you can silence incoming call tones with the power keys but can't find a way to cut off text alerts. Also, even though I've set the camera launch to press and hold,it still launches camera with a quick press and lastly, has anyone had any success with 'multipicture',as I can't seem to to load different pictures for each homescreen Thanks in advance

  • Have used this now for 3 years, its a great phone. But even this phone gets slow if you install facebook and messenger, so better don't. I do not see any great phone to take over from my razr i, I've tried a few and got disappointed, the galaxy s4-s6 series etc. Sony Z5 Compact maybe? But for 100-150 USD, there is still no better phone to be had. I wish Lenovo/Motorola came up with a XT891, same design, screen, construction, updated hardware and even better battery. Would be a winner.

  • Please what is the easiet way to root my xt890 successfully.please reply

  • hi friend any one help me about xt890 2g,3g, not working

  • I have a Motorola razr ixt890 it wouldn't turn on when I hit the on off button and volume up button it turned on but is stuck on the intel screen HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No amount of messing about fixes the bluetooth issue (except rolling back to JB)

  • Hold volume up and down together then power hard reset

  • The 4.4.2 update has poor bluetooth audio quality on many devices (as well as bluetooth connection issues). If bluetooth in your car is working fine with Jelly Bean it might well break or be almost inaudible with KK.

  • sam1 shud plx help me.iwana set asong as ma ringtone bh cant.do ineed an app or wat.sam1 help me plx

  • Just remove the screws, disconnect the battery for a few seconds reconnect and turn on.

  • Very satisfied with the phone (actually my 2nd after the 1st got crushed) until KitKat (4.4.2) upgrade which does not add any value but drains the battery like crazy (down to ~8h with hardly any use during the day).

  • it was all working fine, all of a sudden, my phone moto razr i xt 890 switched off on its own and now it won't turn on..the phone doesn't seem to show any response to any of the buttons neither the lights displays, does anyone faces the same problem? does anyone have any solution?

  • Which carrier are you on?

  • Upgraded to KitKat yesterday. All is fine - no problems. I can achieve Antutu scores up to 17425 now! With JB the maximum score I achieved it was 16999. Plus, I have updated Bluetooth 4.0 libraries now, so my fitbit can synchronise! Cool!! That was not possible with JB. I use this mobile as a second one when in the gym. Version: 990.43.74.XT890.Retail.en.GB

  • Black is cooler for this one!

  • New update available for Motorola i XT890: Android 4.4.2. I downloaded and installed this update and it works very well. Thanks Motorola!

  • Pls how can i customize my ringtone on motorola RAZR i.

  • Have just upgraded the razor I, left to update for around 20 mins (download had already completed). The phone froze on red logo screen after update and would occasionally reboot.. I left it for around 15 mins longer tried switching on and off and rebooting it and gave up. I decided to let it play up and do whatever it wants, 5 mins later to my surprise it loaded !! 😅 after optimising apps for another 10 mins. Hope this helped.

  • Purchased two Razri phones they lasted 22 and 23 months respectively. Just showed red logo wouldn't switch on. Tried power button and volume down for 15 seconds felt the pulse but unable to reboot. Motorola have no answers to how many handsets have failed! I've asked the question. Virgin Media are taking a long time replacing my phone now 7 weeks and no replacement, the phone had 24 months warranty.

  • In reply to all having problems with RAZR I after KitKat update/frozen screen/M logo displayed. Try crash recovery,it worked for me! Press & hold power & volume down key for approx 15 seconds...this should bring you're phone back to life. Hope this helps all.

  • I am gutted if you have not upgraded well actually downgraded don't !!!!!!!!!!!!!! they ruined my fav phone ever

  • Me too, could you solved thr problem?

  • I downloaded officially and upgraded to kitkat. Is it just me or does it feel slightly slower? Worse quality of sound during calls? Less speaker volume during calls? I have this feeling, but want to hear from others. This was a 100% perfect phone before the update and I have loved it for more than 2 years now, and would like for it to stay in the same shape. Also SMS notification is a continous bell after update, not sure how to change this?

  • Finally update available to Britain and I updated it. Note ensure full charging after downloading the update and install it. And don't mind the phone or logo for some time 10-20 min it will be fine and updated to 4.4.2 ....cheers

  • I'm just getting the KitKat upgrade now!

  • never

  • Which color should i buy in Motorola Razr I xt890? Which one is best White or black?

  • If your phone is dead and factory restore doesn't help, you need to flash it using RSD Lite 6.1, the motorola USB drivers, and an image of the 4.4.2 firmware prepared for RSD Lite. Such an image isn't available yet, I think. I asked for it on forums.motorola.com and forum.xda-developers.com; hopefully someone can provide it.

  • Same problem here. Even hard-recovery / reset to factory settings does not work anymore. Any solution anyone?

  • My RAZRi died during update to Kitkat :( now I can see only M logo and after that the phone is going to reboot again. I'm totally sad and do not know what to do

  • Finally update: Android 4.4.2, Kit Kat, Blur_Version.990.43.74.XT890.Retail.en.EU.zip I like Motorola XT890!

  • did any one get the kitkat update

  • Kitkat update is finally available, at least for EU retail versions. Experience is much better overall but I still advise using a more modern looking launcher. If this update had come earlier I probably would have stayed with the phone for a while longer but It's taken far too long honestly.

  • I updated it to 4.4.2 trough standard update check and download If I can do it in Croatia where Motorola has no support than you can do it in other countries

  • where is the update to kitkat?

  • Got the same problem here. Was solved by reflashing an original Motorola rom with RDS lite. You may try it, but at your own risk :)

  • Hi It's strange that this issue comes out after some how two years of usage. I got the same probleme whcih i solved by reflashing original motorola rom using RSD lite tool.

  • kitkat released for europe :) 4.4.2

  • kit Kat 4.4.2 release

  • This phone is really mire than 1 cm thick. As actually all droids are being Measured to mislead the buyer, cos they are measured in the lowest and thinnest part. The same i got when bought my first android huawei ascend d1 it is also 1 cm or more but i can forgive it cos only stretching parts are camera and speaker, which are 20 per cent of the phone. But measuring like this all motorola droids is unforgivable.

  • a very lovely phone but cant get my extra 32g to work, I have tried all method I know. can someone help me out, cos I need to do more downloads but it keeps saying no space.

  • I love this phone but why will itnot play videos in hd on youtube, it doesn't even go higher than 360p

  • Official update for 4.4.2?

  • Mobile update

  • This device ( Brazilian model ) works in Irlanda ?

  • @Ryan- Even I faced similar issue. I used this phone for 2 years and suddenly it switched off. I have just tried to restart it and it is not going past the Motorola logo and I can't turn it off again. Must wait until battery drains out and switches off.

  • The phone has become buggy & slow over time. This is my fifth (and last!) Motorola phone. Customer service and technical help are non existent as is the KitKat upgrade.

  • I have exactly the same problem, has anyone been able to sort it out?

  • agree with some of the comments here. i've used other phones but i can't let go of this one. i was desperate for an upgrade and the apps that i installed only made my phone lag. i uninstalled all those crap such as antivirus apps and now my phone is lag free. kitkat launcher and texra has made my phone look cool. i simply love the razr design. this is what all smartphones should look like. i'd love to have a new 2015 version. than you motorola!!!

  • hi snap exactly same problem loved this phone but with problems the promissed update no more realistic than the man in the moon i bought my self a samsung galaxy s3 excellent phone the update i would not have cared about but they promised it this is why i am afraid moto will never get back to the top

  • I've checked the xda forums and unfortunately there's not even a hint of when it's coming. They probably should have never promised us this update if they were planning on seeding it more than 2 years after its release, and more than one year after 4.4 was actually released.

  • I have this phone for nearly 2 years now and these past few days it has started to become very laggy. I have just tried to restart it and it has been on the Motorola logo since and I can't turn it off again or anything. Does anyone else has this problem and how can it be sorted?

  • Excellent phone, although the battery barely lasts a day, even with no calls being made, but why are we STILL waiting for the long promised upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat? This upgrade was planned at launch in Oct 2012 and was announced as being rolled out in Feb 2014, yet we are now being told that it is still in beta testing, will we ever get this upgrade?

  • Might be the best phone overall since touchscreen,if all those buying expensive/cheap new phones knew what they are missing out on,ebay stock would run out very fast. I just cannot see me replacing it now on my 3rd year with the phone.

  • Am so impressed with most of the opinions, i think its just fair to give credit where it is due. i love motorola products. Thumbs up motorola.

  • Something was wrong with you Razr I. Try to fix it with a factory reset. As you can see from all the people here, the phone is still lag-free and fast in use after 2 years. Good luck.

  • the phone was great when i first got it two years ago but it soon became laggy and slow probably due to the single core chip. It got incrdibly annoying as loading the keyboard would take forever meaning i could walk from the office to the car before the keyboard would load making it incredibly annoying. nice design, nice idea shame the whole x86 intel chip thing never really took off after this.

  • To Reset Factory Settings.1Sttings, 2Privacy, Factory Data Reset.

  • Spot on, this phone has been with me for over 2 years, and after trying out a few new higher end phones (Galaxy S4, Nokia, Iphone) its fantastic that still to this day, I do not want anything else than the good old Razr i. No lag, perfect size, dropped many times no problems, fast internet. Only the Z3 Compact would be on the list of replacements, but for 100£, you cant go wrong here. Reading magazine articles now over best phones for 2014, I would not want to spend cash on any of those, thank you Moto for the Razr I! Moto should really come out with a 2015 version, same size, even better battery, latest OS, but again whats the point if its already up there with the best?

  • Same here. 2 years and I'm still not anxious to upgrade. Besides, something like Nova launcher can always give you the latest looks without any updates. Speaking of which, it's awful of motorola that they still haven't updated the phone OTA to 4.4. The stock apps are kinda showing their age. Its still does all everyday tasks without a hint of lag though. If you're looking to buy a similar phone you'd be well off with a Z3 compact but it's not a huge upgrade.

  • I loved this phone. It was reliable apparently unbreakable and was the fastest and most efficient appliance I owned for internet use. Unfortunately it died on me after long service. I replaced with a moto g. Equally as good on the internet but much inferior as a phone. I cannot text with any accuracy on the keyboard. Simple things such as showing the number of texts waiting on the screen don't happen with the g. I would go back to a RAZR still and I ve had the g for 3 months.

  • Good battery life good screen great camera a video Easy functions. iphone contender if you want to be someone different. Will buy again but latest Model

  • With hyperthreading and just been updated to kitkat. it runs just as smooth and fast as my bro's galaxy s4

  • Good looking and that's all. Slow "2gig processor" one core. No updates at all. Never again.

  • Now two years old and I STILL don't cast envious looks at anyone else's phone! Superb.

  • @no name101 There is 4.4.2 on the Brazilian commercial ROM. You can switch to that ROM and after that get update to 4.4.2. Check this out.

  • Hey Moto, where is update for 4.4.2?

  • Try holding start button for over a minute

  • I ve had this phone for a few months. Its great, it never freezes, install and uninstall applications and works perfect. Honestly I highly recommend it.

  • Same here. This fone has now frozen on me and according to a repair shop cannot be re-set back to factory settings! Sorry l bought it.

  • Thank You :D

  • Still worth to buy £66-£110 ebay. I've just bought my 3rd RAZR I always back to this. I'm after HTC one s, Moto g, Huawei P6, EE Kestrel and more

  • Its either the Razr i or the Sony Xperia Z3 compact. Id favour the Sony battery life, but its like twice the price or more, so if you dont want to spend lots of cash, stay with the Razr i.

  • So we are in 2014 now.....and my question is : should i buy this phone or another ?! Plz help

  • almost perfect, could really do with the update but its not essential, never let me down once and just as fast as the new phones.

  • I dream for the next update. Moto hurry up.

  • So here Ends the Q3 of 2014 and still no updates , using it more than a year but now will be upgrading to iPhone 6 but it will be with me only lol .... love its design , its just amazing

  • someone know how to calibrate the acelerometer? My razr turn just to the right side help !!

  • Pictures attached to normal text messages will only download using 3g.and not wirelessly. This is what I have found with my rasri. They will download ok using wireless if you use whatsapp messaging.

  • did anyone here try motorzr rom v1.4...

  • For sure android 4.4.2... but it is not available officially yet..

  • Hi.. I want to ask do you know wich is the best android version for Motorola razr i xt890. I mean i want my phone to be quick and the battery to stand more. The phone stock is with 4.0.4 Ice sandwich, I'm wondering about Jelly Bean 4.1.2 or KitKat 4.4.2. What do you think, are they to heavy for this divice.

  • This is, without doubt, a very good phone but I do have one quibble. When I began to suspect that the battery wasn't holding its charge,I decided to replace it. This proved to be quite a protracted process. First I had to send off for the special tools,(tiny star drivers), then, using these tools, access the screws holding the phone together. There were three, clearly visible on each side, two concealed under the logo at the top and three concealed at the bottom.Removing these allowed me to separate the two main parts of the phone, revealing the printed circuit board and the camera, both of which had to be removed.I finally located the battery which was held in place by double sided sticky tape.Anyway,I fitted the new battery and put everything back together and it's all working fine, but if anybody is inclined to do the same,I would say you need a fair bit of time and patience. P.S. It's still a good phone though.

  • I've had my RAZR XT890 for 2 months now, and love everything about it EXCEPT I cannot receive or send pictures! And I can't seem to find anybody that can tell me how to fix settings to do this. Can anybody out there tell me? A picture attached to a text message says "downloading" but it does not download.

  • I hope the KitKat update brings Miracast to the Razr i

  • Thank You Karen... Eagerly waiting for kitkat update.. having nexus 4 But Razr i is good and compact.. I Expect Razr i multitasking ability to be improved via kitkat update...

  • I've visited the Motorola customer service and they've told me that it's FOR SURE that Razr i will receive the update, but they don't have the exact date yet. I suggest that every time you have a question about this device, go to Motorola web page and chat with an adviser. They're always very helpful and polite.

  • I've had this phone 4 2 years now. It is still working fine. The Motorola support is just excellent and even if I have mistreated it a little bit, its physical features are just as new. I've had the Samsung Galaxy and other devices at the same time as this one but even for price, Motorola Razr i wins. The kevlar fiber has saved my phone several times because I'm a little clumsy and sometimes I leave it with my keys, it has some scratches but the Gorilla glass really works and you can see it. The one and only bad thing that I can say about this device is that there are not many accessories for it, even the bumpers are very difficult to find, also the headsets, screen covers, etc. Well done Motorola. I'm still very happy with my phone.

  • Will Razr I recieve Kit Kat update for sure ??.. Such a wonderful compact device..

  • Had this phone now for about 2 years, it still looks as new, its been dropped many times on the floor, the kevlar shell saves it each time. The best part is that everyday I have to use this phone, i am surprised how good it is. I did a lot of research before buying, and am proud of myself having ended up with such a master phone. And I've tried Galaxy 3 and 4, Iphone at the same time, always go back to this Razr i. Battery still works basically as good as when new, so no need for replaceable, as one commenter noted. It is also strange that there are no new phones on the market that tempts me more than the Razr i,even though its 2 years old! Its so good I actually picked up a new second one for cheap, in case my gets stolen or broken. You can get it for less than 200 EURs, and its the best phone, and size is great. Dont join the douche-race of having the newest phone, get the best phone instead, the Razr i. And no I do not own Moto stocks. Just my honest review of phone.

  • I'm currently onto my second handset, and this handset has been repaired FOUR, yes FOUR times for the same repeated fault. This time the actual store supervisor was worried about storing the phone on site prior to sending it off for repair as he was worried it might cause a fire. When I first got the phone it was amazing, some of the functions stopped working, even after hard and soft resets, and would NOT buy an apple, but unfortunately am considering a Sony Z1 Compact, based on size and specs.

  • I've been using this phone for almost 2 years. I am very happy with it. About the battery stats that you are asking for, I must say that I charge this phone every night, even if it never reaches the 15% of battery. However you can do whatever you want with it during the day. Sometimes I finish my day with almost 3 hours of screen on and I have always GPS, 3G, Wifi and Bluetooth activated. Honestly, with this phone you don't need to be careful with the battery if you charge it every night. And nowadays this is a real pleasure.

  • May you tell me how to set the Device to achieve 64 Hours of Battery Power because my Battery lasts just about 20 Hours. Thank you in advance for your answer!

  • I've been abusing the battery on this phone for a year and a half now and its battery life hasn't been affected in any way till now thankfully. Problem is that only Samsung offers this feature nowadays, but their phones are just crap.

  • yeah, in fact you can even root it without unlocking the bootloader!

  • root work fine.

  • don't buy this phone .... it's waste of money ... rooted doesn't work for it

  • yes man, i knew that, but he said that were 2 cores, and i told him that is only one!, you missunderstood :) razr i [1core] it's not the same thing with rarz m [who has 2 cores]

  • Single core processor with multi threading. Educate yourself. He can multi task via his one physical and one virtual core when it's needed. When no heavy task is required it's not wasting battery with two cores. Do you really think, more CPU cores == more power? This bad thing is this intel chip is not getting attention, since in this range, pretty much destroys every CPU when it comes to functionality, multi tasking and battery life.

  • no dual core, single core,, doh

  • this phone good but the call recorder doesn't recorder the both voice that's the problem with this phone

  • My Razri is now due for upgrade from EE , its been brilliant as was the Defy b4 it.Have no idea what i,m gonna get next they dont seem to do Motorola now :(

  • This phone is brilliant. The battery life shames an iPhone while the call clarity is superb. When Google designed this phone and got Motorola to make it they made a winner. The screen is bright and vibrant. The dual core cpu never struggles. Worth every penny and welcoem back Motorola :-)

  • so i want you to tell me [those that HAVE this phone]: - video how much hours? - talk gsm 2g how much time? - standby normal use ? - the headphone it's laud enought? in conversations? - the speaker it's laud enought when ringing? - listening to music thru headphones does sound GOOD? - the display it's whiter on waching videos in black [dark] scenes?. because another phone like xperia m it's BACK and you can't see anything :( THANX a LOT!, i want to buy this phone and i need you advice!

  • I have this phone more then one year and whole the time I had problem with max. 5 app ;) And I have lots of instaled, firefox was problem but work for a while ;)

  • this phone is so bad because all app " call recorder" doesn't work on it ....

  • This is my first android mobile and believe me it is rock solid ... Just go for it perfect in all specs

  • did u av any outlet in nigeria for purchasing, if nt online.

  • Arc s will be bulky as cmprd to razr i. People n my freinds admires its design . its slim . plus sony wont be giving u update but razr i is going to get d same soon . u know specs so no comment on dt hope it helps

  • I'm really astonished. So many good comments about this cell phone but very few about its non removable battery. That's a serious drawback for the ones that cannot afford changing cell phone every year (in fact they will have to throw it to the garbage can)

  • Update kitKat 4.4.2 will be available from third quarter not second.

  • Yeah... but.. I'm deciding between the Arc S and this Motorola Razr i ... Help me decide guys! I just need a very, very nice, capable, and cheap but high quality smartphone! Both are! Dang! Please try not to guide me because of specs... And I'm not a newbie. Thank you!! Pd: I've had both devices already. Are really good!! I'm in love with both!! Help me decide @.@

  • D. Schuster, from Motorola, confirmed on his page the release date to Q2 (April to June). I think it's going to be june, but perhaps we will have a surprise.

  • yeah what about kitkat?

  • Does any body know when the 4.4 Kitkat upgrade for the UK is suppose to be released??

  • Switch 3g off for twice the battery capacity in daily use. It really makes a big difference on this phone.

  • The Werewolf, after using iphone 3gs,iphone4 and iphone4s , anyone can have a guess what apple is making. i just imagined the simplicity of ios plus robust razr i and half in the price ,so i got this phone but android is battery hog and does not know how to utilize its hardware . thats d issue but still things are enjoyable lol

  • Best phone available. Compared with Samsung S4, S3 and other top phones. Always go back to this unit. User friendly and fast, great camera, battery. Buy for 1/3 price of whatever else phone you have on your mind.

  • Joonvijay, there's this company called "Apple" and they already make the phone you want. So asking other companies to make the same phone is kind of dense, no? Or were you just being a troll? /s

  • I just wish this could have ios 7 with kevelar plus aluminium ..... that would be deadly combo

  • I switched from iphone 4 as its beating iphone5 with half in price. After spending 7 months im just in love with this masterpiece . Ya android has few glitches but thats not fault of motorola . Its doing great with gaming n browsing . Just grab tge robust moto razr i .

  • nothing about kitkat release date yet, just be patient

  • Hi, anyone know when upgrade to 4.2 will be released?

  • It is a rock! Made by kevlar and Aluminium. it has fall down many times...and nothing, still working... very little scratches...almost unnoticiable. Best phone ever... if only I could play gta vice city on it, it would be perfect...

  • Listen people, this phone is the bomb. I replaced my galaxy S2 2 years ago with the Razr i, and have tried to switch to Galaxy S4 recently, but that was slower and worse feeling, back to the Razr i. Its so good I bought a new one just to have as a spare. I can not recommend this phone enough. Its still better than the NEW Sony Z1 Compact which I also tested. That Intel Proc makes the difference.

  • The White RAZR I does have the same Kevlar back, its just a different colour from the Black RAZR I. :)

  • Please specify error you are getting. U can format ur device so that all apps are gone but phone memory wont be formatted , to do so u hv to flash it by rsd lite. I hope it helps

  • this phone actually has intel atom z2480 confirmed and it will be upgraded officially to kitkat as Motorola stated on its web site

  • i can't do a factory seting in my phone....how to do it

  • anyone knows if in the white version comes too with kevlar?

  • Kit Kat is comming!!... You can see it in the motorola webpage:

  • Nope...no 4G on this

  • I've had this phone for some time now, and I'm wandering if it has 4G. Thankyou!!

  • Go to settings>apps>all>camera and clear data and clear cache . Camera will be working fine

  • It has FM RADIO only if u are on ICS 4.0 YOU can downgrade from JB TO ICS n can use fm if rooted

  • Hi, I have a Razr i and my girlfriend has a Moto G (16gb, android 4.4). The things better in the razr i are: -notifications LED with colors, In the Moto G, the notification LED is only white. -Smaller size. The razr i has a 4,3 screen, the Moto G a 4,5 screen, in the screen you doesn't see a lot of difference, but in the size to carry in your pocket you can see the difference. Anyway, you can carry Moto G in your pocket winthout problem. (is not a Galaxy S4 or a HTC one) -You have external SD. Not really critical with 16gb of internal memory. In the other hand, in the Moto G is better: -Android 4.4 (widgets in the lockscreen, a little more fluid,...) -Radio FM -Gorilla Glass 3 -Better GPS anb Bluetooth There are differences, but in the day by day use are similar in both phones: -Camera -Quality in the screen -Speed of the phone -Battery You have to value if you prefer: -LED notifications, size and external SD or radio FM, bluetooth and android 4.4.

  • Goodmorning, first of all sorry if I do some errors in english. I've fallen in love with the RAZR I, but I'm full of doubts! In your opinion, as RAZR I users, now what would you prefer between the RAZR I and a MOTO G 16gb? Actually, for the same price, the only real plus for the G that I can find it's the fact that it can be easily upgraded, but: it's that important? For all the rest to me seems that the RAZR I it's better in all the fields, am I wrong? Thank you

  • when i click on the camera it comes up with a message saying 'camera is unable to initialise' when this has happened before i turned my phone on and off and it worked again but this no longer works what can i do?

  • I had the same problem. Backup your stuff and then reset the device to the original settings

  • Nope

  • My question is does this phone has FM radio? Thats important for my buying decision. Regards.

  • Thank you for reply, but the link is not working. Is says "No thread specified."

  • Not windows but ubuntu yes

  • Has anyone tried to install Windows or Linux on this phone? Due to its Atom x86 processor it's theoretically possible

  • i have this phone, but recently i'm experienced a too slow experience with Plants vs Zombies 2, on Pirate Ship stage... when the zombies come on the last hord, the cell phone became too slow and i can feel the temperature grow up in seconds. Sorry my bad english, i'm brazilian.

  • Very decent midrange phone. The screen is very good for its price range. Perfomance is creditable very smooth. Overall a very good sized phone

  • Hello, Try out to clear the cache for the google play from "manage apps" in Settings. If that doesnot work, try factory reset.

  • do a factory reset

  • Hello I am unable to open my play store it says "unfortunately google play store has stopped. " I got the phone XT890 very recently. Can anyone help me out in resolving this issue

  • I Have -24 Code Error Poping Up Each Time I Am Trying To Reinstall Skype Into My Phone. My Pine Its A Motorola RAZR XT 890 And I Don't Know What To Do. Could You Help? Many Thanks Dante

  • cpu is Atom Z2480 and NOT z2460

  • To anyone who has this phone: if you occasionally face ANY stutter on the home screen its just because of the Circles widget. Although its functionality is unmatched, you could find numerous alternatives on the playstore.

  • MC4 meltdown confirmed working on stock JB, thanks for the apk @Eisley

  • GPS stopped working on my razr i, no satellites detected, it is looking for. Someone the same thing happens?

  • Hey! Don't forget to give feedback about NFS in JB. How does the speed feeling is. The links is here, remove the ***: android***authority.com/game-android-device-284850/#comment-1089011776 It will take you right where my comment is. Don't scroll up, it's righ there. There are several pics. What we'll do is to try those games. I'll send you the APks for both and you'll try them. Maybe you've tried already. If they don't work you should try and find a way to flash stock ICS rom. I think it's possible. Maybe this thread can help you. I'll send you the APKs now. Try them and tell us. - L. - L.

  • Hey! I saw your message very soon after you posted it just by coincidence. What is important is this: Directory Bind works or doesn't work in the Razr i stock JB. Yes or Not. You say it does, so the answer is Yes. Good. What you saw with ES File Explorer is what I saw too. Looks like the data is DUPLICATED. But I tell you that, it's like an illusion for the SYSTEM to "think" the data is actually in the internal. You understand? But the data IS NOT there in the Internal anymore, thats's what this Directory Bind does. It's like a mirror. When you deleted the data in that folder the game didn't work anymore cause you deleted its data which was BINDED in the actual External SD. You just need to do the Bind process and let it like that. Done. Have you checked my screenshots? I have some 1.7GB left after installing all those games and all of them work perfectly. I'd have more if I moved the data and the OBB part of NOVA 3 cause that game has the 2. But only moved OBB. NOVA 3's Data folder contains some 850MB of info. I don't think NOVA 3, MC4 and other don't work in JB. Just install their APK and see! I don't know why Gameloft don't put up to buy MC4, but the game certainly works. Now we'll see if it works for the Razr i with JB. Please reply all you can and try to give feedback about NFS. And use Directory Bind for the heavy Data and OBB folders of the GAMES. It does free up storage. Check my screenshots from the links! - L.

  • I never tried ICS on it as i got it on JB itself but if u update to JB then you will be loosing MC4 and NOVA3,as they arnt working on JB as for now and gameloft is too lazy in replying to queries. But i must say that i used ICS and JB in other phones like samsung and sony But Razr i on JB just rocks, it works flawlessly and some new features added too so unlike others , it has ur DB working so u cn give it a go .

  • Hii, omg u reply so fast man . ok many things to elaborate here: I am using directorybind but being honest ,im not that expert in that software , for example i tried to move asphalt 8 via DB and then checked space freed in settings>storage ,so i found that around 1 gb space got freed from phone to sd card BUT when i checked whole asphalt8 data using File Explorer , it was there so im confused and then i deleted that data and game stopped working. Secondly i played NFS MW in iphone so i never tried it in razr i but right now im downloading it and will tell u its performance soon. Regarding update to JB i must tell u that MC4 version1.0 did work in JB but 1.0.1 and 1.1.0 arent working plus i heard that Fm radio is working in ICS by installing a cracked fm apk becaause Razr i has fm hardware but not software ,and they put a ban on fm in JB update so no cracked apk fm is working, and I need Fm radio but unfortunately i cant downgrade to ICS. Hope i answered all what u asked . thanks

  • @Eisley:, i have used smart launcher and just loved it , now no stuttering at all , also i formatted once and using stock launcher n no issues . Nowi t is a great phone there is no doubt about that , but i dont know Why this phone cant play Modern Combat4 ,not compatible as said by Gameloft. may be due to intel processor.I use my iphone 4 for gaming purpose but i purchased razr i for its bigger screen than iphone4 so i m playing all games on it but not MC4. I am Using Directorybind on stock JB with no Issues so no worries of space . The most annoying thing im facing now a days is its Unlocked bootloader welcom warning screen which i tried to remove by flashing stock moto logo but no success , i downloaded its stock rom and unzipped it to get stock signed logo but im failed , plz help. Thanks

  • Try Smart Launcher. I consider it the most functional, cool and the best minimalistic launcher. It's really lightweight, like a feather. Try it with a theme called "Transparent" something like that. Really nice with any livewp like Alien Shapes! It doesn't have proprietary widgets like Go Launcher, that btw, is really heavy because of them. To use widgets you need the paid version. But if you appreciate minimalism and try this launcher you'll see widgets are not needed. Try its gestures. For example, swipe up hides the notifications bar, swipe down shows it! It's configurable n.n - L

  • Had this phone for ages now never a single issue. I also started using paid version of Nova Launcher and it makes this phone even faster and smoother.

  • It can be even better if you root it and tweak it with ROM Toolbox Pro. Are you on JB or ICS? Do you play games? If so, join my request. - L

  • Do you mean that it stutters when you minimize a game and go back to it? Or that the phone freezes completely? I've not seen any stuttering when minimizing anything. Little lags do rarely occur, but are when the device is very busy and you go back too quickly, something like that. But are very little and rare. Anyway, if you don't mind changing launchers you should try Smart Launcher, it's the lightest of all, and it's very nice, minimalistic and very functional. Try it with its Transparency theme. (When you apply this theme the Preferences button goes transparent too, but it's in the same place). Try its gestures: Swipe up hides the notification bar! It's so cool. Ha The phone has frozen completely like 3 times with no apparent reason, too. I reset pressing Volume minus + Power for some seconds. This issue is quite weird, and has happened like 3 times in the 4 months I have had the device so far. Not that.bad, fortunately it doesn't happen regularly. Other than that I haven't had any issue of any kind. Sometimes Asphalt 8 closes while charging a race, rarely, too. But it's the game's fault. (ASPHALT 8 players should read on, and collaborate!) Btw, do you play A8? How do you like it? Do you feel Low graphics look better than "Low" suggests? I think it looks nice and enjoyable, even it looks more realistic than A7 that in the Razr i runs fine with almost all high graphics that are enabled, but yet it looks a bit toyish. A8 has nice road textures, some reflections, speed kicks when using nitro (cool when drifting) and car bumps effects even in this Low graphics for the Razr i n.n Oh, and the game runs so.very smoothly! It's a breeze for the phone! Isn't the same for you? That's why I'm elaborating a comparison between the graphics on Need For Speed Most Wanted and A8. The graphics in NFSMW are much, much better than the A8's Aren't they? Of course NFSMW has its own beauty, BUT, if the Razr i can handle fine those high graphics why can't it handle at least Medium or even High graphics on A8? Its low resolution helps it a lot, you know? What do you think? I'll send this message to Gameloft and as them to unlock the Medium and High graphics for the Razr i. Would you like that? Anyone? It's very easy to contract Gameloft, would you like to send this same request to then so they optimize the Medium and High graphics for the Razr i? I hope you Razr i users can help me. I can share with you my comparison and you just need to send it out to Gameloft saying: I second this request!! Gameloft does care, I've received several good attentions from them. What do you say? You can send me your pictures with graphics comparisons too to backup our request. Please contract me if you (everyone!) are interested: [email protected] And if you want to compete, add me to G+ I play regularly! - L

  • A friend of mine tried to use Directory Bind in his Razr i stock JB and couldn't. There's a bug in BD that makes it impossible to use in his device. But, in my Razr i running ICS (stock) DB works flawlessly and it's such a marvelous and the brightest app ever created n.n If you (anyone) are a gamer I'd advice you to stay on ICS. JB doesn't have any appealing for me (worse now that DB doesn't work on it). I'm very satisfied using my Razr i on ICS (with little tweakings). I'm planning to buy the Xperia Z Ultra to couple it with the Razr i n.n The big and the compact. A sweet complement, isn't it? - L.

  • I have no apps minus from Youtube on this phone, however it keeps telling me to remove data and I have a memory card stored. It seems it is not using the memory card.

  • Will the RAZR i be replaced by the Droid Mini (or variant) soon!?

  • rightly said , directorybind is there also

  • it supports class 10 sd card , confirmed

  • moving apps to sd card is supposedly unavailabe on all android phones sporting jelly bean without root. Its not a problem with motorola phones

  • Excellent phone. After a long research decided to go for it rather than s4 mini. Absolutely love the screen, the speed, the quality pictures and those little tiny tricks it has once you customise it and get used to it. Battery life - if I'm off work and not really need it - 3 days, baby, yeah! Have always been p....d of going everywhere with a charger in the pocket. Wouldn't change it for anything.

  • Luckly, I have there sdcard 32GB an class 10 from kingston and I think, that after update on 4.1.2 it schould be availible to move your apps to sdcard.

  • I have been researching this for a few weeks and learnt about the XT890 doesn't surrport Class 10 cards or app move to SD unless rooted

  • Hello Moto! Wow! I am impressed. I'd own a S3 before this.... and I have to recognize that I do prefer the xt890 instead of S3. It's subjetive... of course. XT890, it's fast! so fast! camera appears inmediatly! No lag at all... The bad. No FM radio in Jally Bean... no matter still can use tune in... Material of contruccion... WOW... it's Motorola... no plastic...cheap pf samsung.. Moto has coming back... very happy with my choose...

  • Does anyone know if replacing the battery is an easy task on this phone? Ive been abusing it for 9 months and the battery life has become noticeably shorter

  • battery out of power , charge and should work

  • Keep power button pressed for 5-6 seconds. It should start.

  • Keep the phone I for charging and after that keep pressing power button for 5-6 seconds. It should start.

  • where are you from? im not that sure but may be your phone's display strip got disconnected from motherboard dueto fall or something so u can get it checked from local repair shop, make sure u go to good reputated shop or if display has gone faulty then u gotta purchase a new one which is available online, but first get it checked

  • my xt89o lost the display, can any one help me out please

  • i received the gift from one of my relative from london (UK), the desply is lost , when i press the power on only green light blink and no display, can any one suggest what to do please

  • Moto Razr i is simply great , but i need to ask that it gets stuck sometimes while coming to home screen from a game and vice versa , SO IS IT DUE TO stock launcher or what makes it to lag sometimes ? Thanks

  • You have to ROOT your device. * The word "root" got deleted somehow.

  • I backup him. Directory Bind is at the top 10 most valuable and marvelous apps of the whole Google Play for me. It's so very useful. Even so, it's not in the Play Store, you can find it easily at XDA. It's free to use, but of course you have to your Razr i. It's a safe process, and it's quite easy nowadays. You will loose your warranty but that's not something to worry about! If your device has been running fine all these days, it won't fail later. So, go ahead and root it!! I have almost 15GB of apps installed and running perfectly in my Razr i. The heaviest of them are, of course, the games. I have most HD games from EA and Gameloft, all running fine. I moved only the games using Directory Bind, the other apps are not a problem. And still have 1.8GB in the internal storage for more! So, if you don't want to root it, ok, you only have to limit the games you want to have installed and that's it. All fine. If you go ahead and root it make sure to get a 32GB Class 10 microSD card, SanDisk is the best. Just to prevent any performance problem. Ok, now do some research!!!! n.n - L. Pd: Directory Bind works in most devices from 4.0+

  • well here is a solution but u got to root it , Directory bind is a app lets u move game data and apps data etc to sd card , so im using 32gb class 10 sd card and games are flowing like butter as if its in phone memory.

  • Sound like your sd card is at fault.

  • Same problem

  • Many thanks for tip and sorry for delay in reply. All sorted a while back now. :)

  • Tip: Install 'ActiveNotifications' app to get almost the same notification system as the Moto X phone. Works very well on the RAZR i AMOLED display. Invaluable! Love the phone anyway. Way more robust and responsive than more expensive models. You can get the RAZR i on Three here in the UK for £250. I got mine for £150 during their limited offer period.

  • got mine 7 days ago I had to change it cuz there was a problem with the sd card got anotherone and still the same problem my sd card removes constantly can someone tell me what can I do or should I by another cellphone?

  • how u managed these big hd games in just 8GB bcz i can only put 2 games and not even a single app or games is allowed to move to sd card , so is there any method to move apps to sd without rooting ?? please help

  • Personally I love my RAZR couldn't be happier biggest problem is none thanferable storage to SD card the day I got it I was over the moon but the I tryed moving games over and it wouldn't let me so that upset me and unlocking no one has a code ? Help I don't like rooting what do I do

  • Agreed 10000000000000%! HDR Mode simply works impressively good! - L.

  • Hi, I'm sorry for your loss. I knew this device needed a hole for wrist belt! You should take your broken Razr i to technical support, as it's not your fault, they should check it and see what they can do. It can be a fixable problem. This device is beautiful, and I'm planning on getting the Xperia Z Ultra or the Lenovo K900 to make (one of them)it its big brother ^-^ If you still have your Razr i or get it repaired maybe we can share some cool and useful apps and tricks to improve it, even more. You tell me. - L.

  • I have most Gameloft and EA HD games, plus some others. And NO ONE of them has a single problem. They run smooth as they should. I can even Multitask with them running. (Even using the whole screen thanks to the full!screen app by tsorn, which is awesome!) You must not know how to properly use the device. Avoid leaving apps in the background by using the Back key to close them, don't use the Home key, this minimize the apps. Too many processes in the background would make the system stutter in any device. This smartphone is powerful enough for everything you may want and more. - L.

  • This phone suck in the games....

  • I have this phone all is good.... Except in the games lag a los.... Dammit

  • And since it has Intel processor, it should be easy to install Ubuntu onto it.

  • HDR on the camera vastly improves quality. Love my Raze i

  • LOL buddy 99.9% percent of apps are compatible,I don't know where this intel processor incompatibility issues come from really. This phone is great, go for it!

  • because the Razr i is Incompatible with apps compiled with the Android NDK what apps are available ? Facebook? Snapchat? Instagram?

  • I'm on 4.1.2 Its pretty much the same as 4.0.4 with the exception of Google now. Battery is still great. Can maybe see it getting 4.2 and maybe 4.3 as there both minor updates

  • I have had this phone for a while. I was recommended it and love it! It has everything you could possibly need! Pus its fairly indestructible! However, the charging port of my phone is broken, which was not my fault as it just stopped working- if there is anyone who has any idea of how I can fix/ how I can personally contact the company for a replacement. I do have an insurance policy, but as there is a £30 up front fee and the fact i feel the product was faulty i do not feel this is acceptable. HOWEVER DO NOT BE PUT OFF! I have had two of this model ( as dropped other in the sea) and I had no problems, so i feel that mine now is faulty! would recommend!

  • go to settings then find usb tethering and connect your Razr i to pc then turn on usb tethering.... hope this will help you

  • First of all let me say that this phone is an absolute beast. Forget the specs, this phone can outperform most other phones of its generation (2012). Ok here's a tip I figured to make the UI much smoother and eliminate the occasional stutter when you press the menu button on the stock launcher. Go to settings-developer options and set: window animation scale to 2x Transition animation scale to 0.5x Animator duration scale to 0.5x Thank me later

  • Hello, anyone know when there will be android 4.2? And how good is battery after update from 4.0 to 4.1? Thank

  • On Motorola, for tethering you need to put/write "DUN"(or lowercase)in APN type. (EX: "APN type- default, dun". And magic happens.

  • I have this phone and was also having exactly the same runaround trying to get tethering to work on '3' as I'm on the one plan. Despite getting '3' escalating the issue and saying it was fixed it wasn't. Anyway what you need to do is change the APN to 3 UK DUN, go into settings/more/mobile networks/access point names/ and then select the 2nd option for '3 UK DUN'. This will then get you access to tethering when you click on mobile hotspot.

  • Have you tried tethering through Bluetooth instead? You can only connect one device but works fine in mine. I use the 3g signal from the RAZR to connect my WiFi only nexus 7 to the net. Works fine.

  • I'd say try using your sim card on another device and see if tethering works. If it doesn't then the problem will be with your new network. This would make more sense since you say it worked before on different networks.

  • How do I install applications on the memory card with Android 4.1.2?

  • Help! Got a RAZR i on Three here in the UK, and whilst the phone and Three's signal are great (in my areas anyway), the mobile hotspot feature, that worked fine under Vodafone and O2 no longer works. (We got it working for a few minutes once, but that was it.) Both Three staff and myself have tried everything. Removing sim card, re-starting, renaming the SSID, changing SSID password etc! The WiFi signal from the RAZR shows up on all the devices we're trying to tether to it - full bars, and they connect fine. It is just that there is quite simply no Internet connection. On my MacBook Air, the green lights in the diagnostics panel are all lit up. Tried other devices, including a Nexus 7, iPhone 5, iPad mini and non will connect to my RAZR i on Three! Halp!

  • it has z2480 not 2460. pls correct on the tech page

  • Just bought one on pay as you go only because its on offer plus want to see how fairs for myself. Its on charge now for 12-16 hrs as ive done since 2000 for first initial charge then I do 6-10 full charge/discharge cycles then do what I want after that.. I have taken an interest in this due to having fast browser, its design I just want to give it a good test..Currently using sgs2 and iphone 4s..Ive tried S4 etcand iphone 5 but they seem worse,S4 too big hot and full junk software and iphone 5 too lanky long and poor quality materials..

  • Hi! Great phone, amazing quality (both hardware and design), I've had Galaxy s 4 but it was overheating itself after 5 minutes of usage so I swiched to Motorola razr I and I am very happy with my purchase. Screen is excelent, battery lasts 2 days with medium to heavy usage, core speed is very good. Bough mine for 200 pounds whilist S4 are for 400 pounds on ebay. Buy RAZR i and enjoy the ride! regards

  • Agreed. Just bought a RAZR i as a backup whilst my Nexus 4 rear glass is repaired. RAZR is such a nice phone, I'm not going to keep my Nexus. Yup, Nexus is faster and more powerful, but I feel stressed about breaking it, just as with an iPhone. My MacBook is my workhorse, so RAZR can tether.

  • tx for reply. I almost gave up, scoured forums a bit and got the idea to go into the secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*), and did 2 things: - Change from "WCDMA preferred" to "WCDMA only" - this makes it only connect to 3G/H+, never E/2G. (It's not a CDMA phone, but this setting corresponds to 3G/H+) - Select radio band: USA only (was Automatic, not sure if this changed anything, but this model was made for Europe/Latin America so might have helped) Anyway, before it was randomly dropping to E all the time, now it mostly stays at H+. Sometimes it cuts out. Whether it's T-Mobile's inadequate refarming of 1900 in NY, or the phone just not being compatible, I don't know. It averages 10% "Time without a signal" in the Cell standby battery info. The battery might also be draining a little faster, but not hugely so. The Sony Xperia M comes in August, similar size and has 1700 band too. But I don't like the huge bezel around the 4.0" screen... hmm do I wait out and see if T-Mo 1900mhz 3G improves in NYC... I have a week left to return the Razr i... AHHHHH

  • yeah you can as with the majority of andriod devices ...your data plan would have to allow it though

  • Intel aton z2480yes, z2460no

  • Sure. But don't ask here. Call Moto support service ;) This is a very beautiful device n.n So happy with it that I forgot about the others... I'd like the Xperia Tablet Z, though. Ha And the Lenovo K900 too. But these 2 are the only both for tablet and smartphone that have a strong appeal for me. The others though highend are kind of too similar :/ - L. Pd: The review GSMarena did here for it quite under-rates this device, which is so bad. You better check out comparision videos of this one against the Samsung top ones like S3, Note 2; HTC Butterfly, and iPhone 4S and 5, etc The Razr i performs as good as these, even faster in some tasks. Some reviewers either are biased or too narrow minded and only take their taste as statements. But these videos demonstrate this device is excelent, and a winning bet much above the estimations and benchmarks of the reviewer of this site. Oh I hope I don't ger banned.

  • Hello Can I use a Motorola Razr I phone as a modem?

  • Can I use Motorola Razr I as a modem?

  • I used T-mobile in California and H+ was working perfectly fine across pretty much the whole state, including freeways. As for NYC, I think the reception IS the problem especially if you're inside Manhattan. I always had problems with internet there using both T-Mobile and simple mobile. In general, it was just like what you described. I have to note, though, that this phone maintains a strong signal more than most other phones. that's one advantage of Motorola's hardware.

  • battery life is the biggest disadvantage after updating to 4.1. Has never lasted more than 2 days since I updated. as for the possibility of getting 4.2, I wouldn't get my hopes high since this , you know, android.

  • trouble getting HSPA+/3G on Razr i with T-Mobile in USA. love this phone, size is perfect, but H+ comes and goes, and then it's on 2G EDGE where webpages take 2 minutes to load. makes Google Maps impossible to use. I'm in NYC so reception isn't the problem. what to do? have to get a refund I guess.

  • Battery life is pretty much same like in any android...1-1,5days max. Maybe 2 days if you just check time from phone=)

  • Why would ANY apps be incompatible because of the Intel processor? Android apps are written in Java genius...

  • Does anyone know, when there will be update on JB 4.2? And how good is battery life after update from 4.0 to 4.1?

  • Some very important news! (Specially for the ones who watch japanese animations) The Motorola Razr i, this First Gen, Single Core @ 2Ghz powered by an Intel CPU which has been very underrated by the review GSMarena did on it... can playback flawlessly 10 bit 720p MKV videos*!! :D (I'm on my way to try 1080p ones) This is important because almost all TOP smartphones available CAN NOT! Even the Galaxy S4 struggles and does not give a flawless playback! The Galaxy S3 simply can't playback such videos! Most others cant either. The iPhone 5 does playback flawlessly, and has been an itchy truth for Android lovers (who watch japanese animes) ha. :/ This is just one MORE point in favor of the awesome performance of the Intel powered smarphones such as the Razr i and the Lenovo K900! The Lenovo K900 is like the older brother of the Razr i and its Second gen processor is twice as powerfull as the one in the Razr i so I believe purchasing one of them is a winning bet, for sure!! Both are able to easily playback those problematic 10 bit videos which most top others can't! How cool is that?? Check out the thread at X-D-A devel0pers searching for "[Q] Can Galaxy S4 handle 10-bit 720p video smootly?" thread. And also the thread for the K900 at the same forum! See you!! - L. Update: Tested it: 10 bit 1080p MKV videos do play well in the Razr i!! But this time with some minor flaws! Ha Such an advantage over the rest! *With MX Player, which has the best support for Softsubs.

  • The razr i, the best motorola handset ive eva used to date!!! recently started using this handset and it gets 8/10 from me, houestly the best mobile at its size, apps and games all run smoothly with the 2Ghz atom cpu, it could improve the look of the mobile, screws on the sides a put off and touch screens alittle to sensitive, but over all a great mobile

  • What a load of nonsense. The number of incompatible apps that I have encountered can be counted on one hand. I have the same exact apps on both my note 10.1 and my RAZR I. Apps will generally run faster on the RAZR I, while games will generally run better on the note. Anyways, since more and more phones are using Intel processors( lenovo k900, galaxy tab 3 10.1) , more developers will check the compatibility of their apps with Intel devices. In all cases, some of the apps are described as incompatible with this phone just because the developer hadn't tested it on it. In this case, and I've encountered this many times, just get the apk from any website. Just google the name of the app you're looking for + apk.

  • The chokes you've mentioned is due to the launcher. I've tried using a very popular one (starts with n), and there has not been one hiccup for months. The moto launcher usually stutters at certain actions, like pressing the menu key, accessing the quick settings, or displaying all homescreens,. This made me realise that the reason couldn't have been the processor itself, but rather the launcher.

  • Just got a RAZR I. Thanks to the Intel processor it turns out it's not compatible with half my apps. Be warned.

  • Got my wife that phone. Looks beautiful in white. Very fast and responsive, great battery life and the most compact 4,3 phone!

  • why do you guys compare phone by specs? Go ride your bike with a 5.5" phone in your pocket, later go with a 4.3" and tell me which is easier to use!! I know because I do this, I ride my biek and have a razr i. You can't compare a 4" high spec phone with a 5" high spec phone, its not the same thing! its like comparing a car to a truck.

  • Made an account just to review this phone. I use it for everything, even riding bicycle. The best high-end phone for small hands, even with a protective case. has the pen-tile problem but you get used to it. Intel processor does have some chokes at points. is very fast in app transition (i use it for college works). battery is enough for a full (24hrs) day of use (charging every night), but can go on to almost 2 days. I have not dropped it so I have no idea if it can take a punch.

  • Absolutely no chance of finding a smaller phone of the same screen size. This phone can't get any smaller from the sides, but it could lose a couple of millimetres off the bottom ( still not a lot of bezel though). Just look how big sony phones of similar screen size are . If motorola make the x-phone anything less than 4.7 inch and keep it edge to edge i'll definitely buy it since im not ready to jump into the 5 inch category just yet. Meanwhile, i'm perfectly happy with my razr i.

  • 1 year on, and this is still a really strong 4.3" compact phone. Beats the dimensions of S4 Mini and HTC One Mini. I wouldn't be surprised it it had better battery life and a larger battery as well. Does anyone know if there are any smaller phones with 4.3" display.

  • i think it looks stylish too.Its only £149 plus 10 top up on T MOBILES UK site on pay as you go.

  • euh yeah but the lenovo k900 will use powervr 544 mp2 and the galaxy s4 octa core uses the same but mp4 that means lenovo will use a dual core and samsung quad core GPU, but still a good GPU but they should had put the quad core GPU in it

  • That's your opinion. I think it looks amazing!

  • What an ugly design! Even the screws on the sides are clearly visible.

  • ipad 3 uses powerVX543 not 544. Its the ipad 4 that uses the 544. This means that the lenovo k900 will be even better when it comes to gaming.

  • Such an underrated little beast this phone.

  • well, where do i start :) I think the lenovo will be an absolute beast. However, I'm not a fan of huge phones, which is why I thought of the Xiaomi Mi-2s since its got all the goodies in a small package. Just like the Xiaomi Mi-2s, however, its availability could be very limited. This didn't stop me from getting the razr i from overseas, but it stops the phone from being a hit and getting good sales. Judging by what I've seen from the razr i, I think the lenovo K900 will be faster than the S4 et al. Much faster, actually. Its gpu is the same as the one on my ipad 3, which performs brilliantly (better than adreno 320). The only series disadvantage for me is the stainless steel body. I had it on a nokia C7 a while ago and it heated up quite a bit and pretty poor reception. Between the phones you've mentioned, i'd choose either the Sony or the lenovo. I'm not a fan of LG and Samsung seriously lack creativity. Xperia Z would be the beauty and the Lenovo would be the beast :) For me, however, I'm hoping for another Moto with intel and a smaller than 5 inch screen size. I dont know if you've heard, but samsung will release a tablet with an intel processor (tab3 10.1). This will be a major boost for intel processors. I'm hoping more and more phones will have them. As for the memory bit, don't worry about it. I've already filled a 16gb with music, some shows and pictures and it doesnt look like it really cares.

  • I've seen a lot of other roms for it on XDA. If you're willing to root your phone, you could try them out.

  • Sadly the Xphone most probably wont have an intel processor.

  • save contacts to gmail account and not sim card

  • HI Guys! can anyone tell any moto dev. site who can unlock bootloader of intel xolo x900 kernel?

  • meh,no cyanogen mod for it but damn this phone rocks with battery life and performance, the majority of apps runs fine with the intel cpu,no regrets for purchasing it

  • i wish for a hd version of this, throw in intel atom dual core and its another beast like lenovo k900

  • I'd suggest the Xperia T as a better option.

  • My contacts are erasing themselves what do i need to do to prevent this to happen to me again anda again??? please help me

  • Give it a try, or send an email to the developer!

  • Wooowwwww!!!!!!! Finaly, K900 *-* Now all the competitors became like shaky puppies before this Intel powered steel beast!!!!!!!!! *_* GOTTA HAVE IT!!!! It's priced from USD 699 to 730 (presale, Ebay)!! Not bad! Gotta have it!!!!! *-* I feel I really have to put on sale my very well conserved Xperia Pro, right now!!!!! Jajajaja! Once selled, I definitly buy this k900!!!!! Wow, having such back up of good performance and reputation on performance on the Razr i being a single core makes this Lenovo a certainly winning bet!! Btw, it scores 6867 in 3DMark benchmark, where the Razr i gets a good score of 2416 (and 1243 in extreme mode) Looks like the new GPU in the K900 is very good, and it moves a 1080p display. For me that's too much, I'd be happy with 720p, anyway, it's ok. The highest score in 3DMark is 11070 by Xiaomi MI-2s, the second is the SGS4 Snapdragon 600 version with 10859 :D the Exynos version got 10018. Not bad for the Lenovo k900 huh? Jaja :D I'm not a benchmarks fan, no. Do you believe that in real-life heavy usage the Intel powered K900 could outperform the others? I do! As the Razr i could to the GS3 and others! Ok... after getting to breath normally... Thanks for your tip. Definitly the SmartActions app has a lot of potential (and does not consume much RAM as the others like email, lwps, etc). I currently have 2 rules and working fine since lastest update! :D Will explore more its capabilities later! Please comment on the Lenovo k900 a bit more, do you think it lacks something? I confirmed through a user that it does have MHL and microSD card slot up to 32Gb. Great! I'd like to see a face off against the Galaxy S4 with benchmarks (Antutu, Quadrant, Epic Citadel, Passmark, and ofcourse 3dMark), and real multitasking as a video TheRazrGuy did between the Razr i and the GS3 showing real-life multitasking, switching apps and games really fast. Btw, there the Razr i did very well, even it was a noticeable steady performance not like the GS3 that slowed down a bit. I think that show us how good the Razr i RAM handling is, and it's responsiveness under heavy usage. *-* What do you think? I'm planning to buy this K900, I think it will cost some $ 750 (USD). If you could pick among the Xperia Z, LG Optimos G2, GS4, and the Lenovo k900 which would you choose? and Why? Please guys, lets comment on this :D Btw, today I'll get my microSD card for the Razr i, I'll torture it and see how well it does :D Can someone give me a link to a rooting guide for this device? I'd like to tune it a bit. Thank you! - L.

  • Somebody knows if this phone runs Battle Bears? I've heard that some apps doesn't work because of the Intel processor

  • To better battery life with JB a factory reset is necessary after update.

  • I'm disappointed with the battery life with JB too. I haven't had any compatibility problems myself. Actually some apps only worked after JB (real racing 3 for example). Try removing and installing again. You could go back to ICS but only if you're willing to root your phone. Look it up on XDA developers.I think its just a case of releasing a fix for the phone, but the rollout for JB is still happening so it'll take time. As for the S2, this phone is way better. S2 should be getting jelly bean but dont expect it to happen before 2016. Gaming and browsing are much better on this phone too.

  • afaik 4.1.2 JB is totally disaster..battery life went dramatically down, some apps does not work. do anyone know when this is going to be fixed?? I was seriously considering this phone however after the 4.1.2 JB fail I think I will go for samsung galaxy s II.....

  • It may or may not happened. If the glass surface fell FLAT on the ground, then yes. I can say it's a possibility. But the other guy said HE dropped it, and the next day sh!t started happening. You can't believe everything on the net, I did once, and bought a Nokia

  • Glad you liked the phone. I certainly did. I got 2 tips for you: 1) make the best out of smart actions, its better than any battery saving app out there, and it's not limited to battery saving actions. 2) If you find an app and the playstore says that it's incompatible, just try getting the apk from somewhere else, and you'll probably find that it works. The reason for that is that maybe the developer hasn't tested it on an intel phone. Since you like benchmarks, I should tell you that the lenovo k9000, running on a newer intel processor, beat even the S4 in benchmark scores. I know that benchmarks aren't everything, but this just shows how much potential intel processors have. I'm probably gonna stick to an intel running phone (hopefully motorola) for my next phone too. One thing that dissapointed me is that battery life has became noticeably shorter as the summer kicked in :)

  • He said "Picked it up and the screen would not work" Not "days later". Ok. I very much like this Razr i, but it's certainly not undestructible, nor too resistant to hard floor shocks. There is a video on YT (RAZR I RESISTENTE) where a brazilian guy, sadly, shows his Razr i with a cracked screen. He says it fell from 0.50 meters high. It's not the height, but the way it hits the hard floor what crack ANY screen. So, I don't believe the commenter was trolling. Just pointing out a possibility. I'd like the Razr i had a place to hold a wrist belt, but as it doesn't we have to be careful, that's it. And, it's true plastic bodies devices can resist hard shocks quite well, as its body absorbs the impact. As the Razr i is so compact, it's kinda more probable to break if it hits badly enough. So, we have to be careful. Anyway, I very much like my Razr i, and I hope it lasts to me at least till it naturally dies... jaja. :D Peace! - L. Pd: It scores 50.8 FPS (ICS) on the Epic Citadel Unreal Engine 3 benchmark mode! Cool! And all while having apps running! Awesome Intel! :D

  • You persistent trolling is amusing. If you gonna lie, at least put some thought to it. Your phone slipped from your hand, fell on the ground. and after a day or two it stopped working properly? Come on, not everyone is lacking intelligence. I won't even praise you for trying, I've seen better trolling in the net.

  • I love this app!! I didn't even know my phone had this capability. I checked the specs and it is totally lacking.

  • Thanks for your reply! I got one! Finally! :D!!!!!! After 3 days looking for it in my country (Peru). Although I wanted the black one I ended picking the white one! Ok, just something brief to confirm and clarify to myself my previous doubts (previous post): - It does really, much better than my Xperia Pro! - It's even prettier than I thought it was xD! - It's super fast! - Its multitasking capabilities are so high! I couln't get a single lag even forcing it to do quick changes between apps! (Maps to Chrome (several tabs), Camera to Gmail, Yotube to Music, etc)... (compared to my Xperia Pro, it triples it's performance.) - I'll torture it a lot more when I get a 32Gb SD to install some games! But I've already seen how well performs (directly and by videos)! Overall it has pleased me very much :) And having in count its body materials, desing, good size,... It's awesome! In terms of benchmarks: I was affraid this Moto wouldn't be a good enough upgrade for my good Xperia Pro, but I was wrong! Where my Xperia Pro does fine this does excelent! Antutu: Razr i 13900 (Several stock "useful" user apps running: Maps, Gmail, Google Play, Email, Smart Actions, Live Wallpapers, Moto Keyboard) Xperia Pro 4700 (Most user apps closed) Quadrant: Razr i 4500 (Same state) Xperia Pro 1200 This is not a comparison between devices, it's just to talk about the good upgrade this Razr i is. But, if you want to face it off against quads like the Galaxy S3 or Qualcomm's S4, it does great too! GS3 scores from 13000 to 16000 on Antutu Qualcomm S4s from 14500 and more. But the Razr i still can perform as good as that! Specially in CPU and RAM, where the Intel chipset get almost the same as those. If only they would have launched the Razr i as a highend smartphone with a better GPU (better screen maybe), this device could have destroyed all competitors not only in its price range but these duals and quads too. Seeing it as the current Razr i does , I do believe it. Benchmarks as just a glimpse of the overall performance, but they can be a good reference. Ok, this is all for now! I'm very happy with my purchase :D And, btw I hope someone can give me some tips to get the most of it! Thank you!! - L. Pd: The SmartActions apps is very usefull :D Camera is good! It's body is so hard, hold a GS3 and this and you'll feel the difference! ____________________________________________ Hey, just found out about a "game-like" benchmark that uses Unreal Engine 3 to test the game performance, and the Razr i (acording to user ratings) scores the impressive 50 - 55 FPS! In High graphics! :D That must be, seriously, because of the RAM and CPU speed of the Razr i, + its GPU, of course! Intel is so great! Try it and comment! It's here: Epic Citadel. Ok, bye!

  • For everyday tasks (messagin, browsing) its as fast as it gets, literally. For gaming I'm surprised how well it does even though the GPU is kinda old. Look up any of the big games on youtube(mc4, real racing 3, fifa, dead trigger, you name it ) and you'll see that it works great. The processor has something called hyper-threading technology which makes it act as a dual core. Add to that the small size and the good screen and you get a great phone that is terribly underrated. I cant even imagine how well the actual dual core Intel chips will perform.

  • Short story: Nice looking, lightning fast smartphone! *How does this smartphone's GPU (PowerVR SGX540) compare to Adreno 220? Looks like it's a bit (?) inferior to Adreno 225. Not bad. But I'd like to know comparing to Adreno 220. Long story: I've just had this smartphone in my hands because I'm at a store and let me tell you... It's lightning fast!!!!!!! It's just super fast! Wow! And it feels and looks much more expensive than it really is. It's very pretty indeed. Ok, that said, I currently have an Xperia Pro (S2,1GHz,Adreno 205) and as a quite advanced user I'm just loving it! It's so complete both in software and hardware. Yeah... Not slow, not buggy, all fine. So, this Motorola is not a bad choice at all, being single core and with such speed and not bad GPU I would go for it if I had to choose even if I weren't in a budget. Speaking of GPU, would any of you be kind to me and give me some ideas of comparison between my Adreno 205 and this Motorola's GPU? In terms of performance my Xperia Pro does very good despite its not awesome specs, so I would expect something better from this Motorola, am I right? I can play, with my Xperia Pro, nicely, games like Nova3, Modern Combat 3,4, Asphalt 6,7 Need For Speed series, etc. All fine and very fun! Should I expect something better from this Moto? To the level of Adreno 220 maybe? I need to look for some benchmarks! But I know my Xperia Pro scoring 4700 in Antutu benchmark can do great, I'd like to know how would do this Motorola Razr i! It's desing is tempting, ha. And it has some pros being resistant to water, and it's screen is bright, it's speed just great! Does someone know if it has tv out? It's clearly not a best contender to Qualcomm's S3 or S4s, but I believe what it's got would be more than enough to please even the most sceptic user! What do you think? - L.

  • Nice phone and very quick too. The only thing I don't like about is that you cannot install apps to the SD card which is a bit stupid really. My Razr i has Jelly Bean and also cannot get TOMTOM working on this. I just hate the way Jelly Bean will not let you install to the SC card. If I had known this I probably would not have bought it. Good phone very fast but limited to only 5gb apps on the internal memory, rather stupid I think.

  • motorola razr i xt890 DO have radio tuner. try "FM Radio" from google play.

  • dial the phone number. press the 3 dots on the upper right most position. select add to contacts select new and select Google and ok then, add the name and select the check mark on the top (save) and you are done.

  • I also work in a phone shop, and own a razr i. ive dropped mine 5 or 6 times, and have never had a case for it. so far the only damage ive managed to inflict is ive chipped the back glass panal housing camera lense and flash slightly. of course if you drop it flat onto the screen it is going to die a reasonably horrible death lol. but for the most part, ive found the razr i is a tougher than average smartphone. but most certianly not indestructable.

  • Having to return the phone to EE, it works well, however I need a phone to sync both contacts and appointments with Outlook on my PC. Nobody has been able to get it to do that and it looks like Motorola are not interested. I am therefore returning the phone and will likely get a Sony Xperia or HTC

  • Round of applause I have been saying that for past 4 years...We are bored of these boring soulless slabs,,in clamshells you get the full screen not like slabs where you lose half the screen..Plus real buttons to press and proper green/red send and end buttons...

  • Once the world loved, applauded and adored the Razr series Clamshell designn of Motorola and it even made a history, sets like v3i, v8, v9, krzr k1, etc. Please bring out again these masterpieces equipped with latest technology, 2.6 inch screen, good battery backup with awesome music. People got bored of touchscreen phones as all look the same with slight difference.

  • what i find the radio?

  • Put it in a zip-locked baggy (no battery) with white rice (right out of the box, nice and dry). Seal the bag closed and let is sit for 2 days. The rice will suck the water off of the phone. Then plug your battery in a voila. It will work.

  • Just dip your handset in petrol without battery. Bring it out and kept in suitably hight temperature so that petrol can evaporate. And after 1-2 days put battery and try to switch on.

  • price of motorola phones is very high with less specs

  • Hi - I have had my motorola for a couole of months and today I dropped it and it fell into a bowl of water doh ! I am trying to dry it out, could someone tell me if I can open the phone by removing the screws on both sides of the phone or is it a lost cause,, I have grown to really like this phone so hopefully someone can help.,

  • if it still has warranty, theyre supposed to repaired/exchange it for another equal specifications unit, from which country is it?Claro from where?

  • it is splash resistant ,not waterproof

  • The Model made me earn the a title 'I love gadgets' but pls how do I save CONTACTS on the phone memory rather than on the SIM JOHN

  • Download manual from motorola

  • I've been experiencing similar issues sporadically, would you mind updating us once you get your phone back?

  • Same here. JB was a step backwards for me. Battery life has become shorter, no speed dial is just plain stupid,& the white contacts theme is horrible. Phone alos didnt become one bit faster

  • Just sent mine back for repair as had connectivity issues with both wifi and Bluetooth -kept dropping wifi and wouldn't connect to blue tooth!

  • @SnowRat ... how did you get ICS back after upgrading to JB? I hate the JB update: either Google or Motorola have taken some configuration options out which has made Android (JB) less usable for me. Can't believe they have actually removed configurations. I want ICS back. :)

  • It's not splash resistent. My phone stop work after water contact and Motorola says me that I've lost my warranty becouse it's not splash resistant. I love this phone, so I bought another one.

  • I've had this phone 5 months and it works fine except it erased my sd card completely about a week ago..just told me that I un mounted the card when I hadn't and that was it everything was deleted so that's something yo watch out for. Oh and the calibration on the keyboard is a bit slow sometimes

  • Yes this phone works perfect on 3 network in uk as I am using this phone on that network at present and has very good signal

  • me too :

  • I'm having the same issues here.

  • Has anyone else experienced wifi connection issues over the last few days ? My phone was hooking up straight vawat to my wifi but over the last few days it recognises it but will not connect ! seems strange it has happened after i installed a device update ? any ideas ?

  • Download galaxsim unlock from the google play store

  • XDA-developers.com

  • i was told by motorola support, it supports apt-x. is that true?

  • can anyone point me to a link on how to unlock this phone? tnx

  • search for motorola razr i support web page and you'll find the user manual. just like the good ol' times. Noone really uses these nowadays but all phones have user guides, just not bundled with the phone anymore.

  • Do you get a strict instruction how to do stuff with a PC or laptop, ofcourse you don't because you can do everything in a million ways. It`s a damn smartphone, more over it is android phone, you can do whatever you want with it, of-course you need to spend some effort doing some research etc. If you want a device with strict instructions and limited options you better switch to WP or iFancy devices. Welcome to new century xD P.S. I really hope that smartphones will follow PCs/Laptops evolution and soon or late they will start selling only the hardware where OS will be optional choice of the owner.

  • There's no need to re-write all android instructions in every cellphone. Just google how to use android and be happy.

  • I have a motorolla razr I in the past I have had nokia phones which have always come with clearly writen instructions on how to use all aspects of the phone the razr I comes with no instructions and minimum instructions on the phone itself, there is no where to find out how to download your photographs, no where to find out how to download tunes to use as ringtones, basically the only way to find out anything is to contact motorolla themselves which is a total bind, i would not recomend this phone to anyone for that reason only, I regret the fact I am tied into a contract with this phone

  • Princess Leia, is that you?

  • I totally agree with you, but some peolpe just think´s is all the oposite. NOT! have a good one.

  • im having the same problem, i cant receive a pic message from nobody

  • i have a motorola razr i xt890 and the screen went black, i did a reboot, but im still having problems receiving mms and sending texts. i bought it on feb 16 i dont know if the company CLARO can change my phone, or what can i do to solve the problem with texts? thanks,

  • The FM Radio receiver works on 4.0.4. but not Jelly Bean 4.1.2 after upgrade. Had to re-image the phone to get it back to ICS 4.0.4 which is a major pain as you cannot just roll back or uninstall Jelly Bean

  • I was using FM radio on 4.0.4 ICS but when I updated to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (I think) it stopped working. Have (with lots of hassle) gone back to ICS and it is working again

  • there is no way modern phones with their huge displays can handle falls. However they advertise it, it wont be as tough as older phones used to be, we just need to live with it

  • see two of the posts above regarding dropping this phone.

  • Bought this phone two months ago. My first Android experience. Loved it. All the features, apps and construction. Last week while taking a picture, the phone slipped from my hands and landed on the tile floor. Picked it up and the screen would not work. I shut it off and turned it on but the problem still persisted. Here is my thing. The thing is made from aircraft grade aluminum and kevlar. You would think it could handle a 3 foot drop no problem. My wife and I have had plastic Blackberry's for years and have both dropped them accidentaly numerous times without experience any problems except the occasional reboot. Something to think about for anyone considering buying this phone.

  • and why it should not? If unlocked then it should take any micro sim card.

  • Circles widget causes a lag on the menu button.removing it causes the stutter to go away completely. very hard choice to make

  • hi, anyone knows wether the Motorola Razr I works on three network in UK or not if its unlocked? many thanks

  • I dropped mine well it fell out my pocket while i was running and fell 2 or 3 ft on concrete ...the top right corner is ever so slightly dented barely noticable , no screen damage. It worked for a few days and then started going crazy freezing and taking forever to adjust the view when i flipped my phone etc. Just today i tried the unlock button as usual and nothing happened I can see my notification bar but nothing else !!! also the camera button brings up the camera as normal as well. Help if you have any idea what i could do ? do you think that drop would have bee enough to do this ?? thanks

  • I work in a phone shop and this phone is indestructable, i have probably thrown it at the ground over 200 times, and it has no damage, this isnt carpet either, stone floors. Its truly amazing. Features wise, still very good, deffinantly keeps up with Samsung S2, Ace, Nokia Lumia 820. Josh

  • Me toooooooo

  • find out the part broken.. find a geniune service person to repair it and order the part online.. u may have a better chance of good quality online !

  • I bought a lovely case for this phone for £2.49 Search ebay for: S Line Wave Gel Skin Case Cover

  • Dropped my phone on it's front and tooks a few chips out of it. Anyone know where I can get replacement parts? Hopefully genuine.

  • Snap. Candy crush and subway surfers won't work on mine either

  • Couldn't Motorola design a more shitttyy back-cover for their phones?

  • I'm using a Sandisk Micro SDXC 64gb class 10 right now, everything is fine till now.

  • Has anyone tried a 64gb sd card? I'm afraid to buy and doesn't work in my razr i...

  • you know, they did make a version with better res, hdmi and arm, the name is razr maxx hd...

  • its only a matter of tastes. The fact, however, is that this is a blazing fast phone with a great screen. The size of the phone (IMO) is in a sweet spot between small phones and phones with big screens. Motorola looks to have learned a lesson and rolled out the JB update as scheduled, but not without its drawbacks. The battery life seems worse after update even with google search disabled all together. The two downsides in the phone is average picture quality and sound quality through headphones. I did like the phone much better before JB. If you still didnt do the update check around forums to see if the tradeoff is good for you.

  • After upgrade to version 4.1.2... FM Radio doesn't work...no...why..

  • As much as I hate the evil Google empire and new owner, I still love Moto! This is one of the best phones on the market, and I think if Moto upped the screen res, used ARM, and added HDMI then this would be much more popular.

  • As much as I hate the evil Google empire and new owner, I still love Moto! This is one of the best phones on the market, and I think if Moto upped the screen res, used ARM, and added HDMI then this would be much more popular.

  • "Not the best looker"???????!!!!"! What! Apart from the camera area, I think this is one of the best looking devices I have ever seen (from a male perspective anyway). Love the texture and the detail around the edge of the screen. It also looks much better in real life than the photos with the colour being closer ti black than the grey ib the photos.

  • Are you still sleeping Moto ? Look at Samsung how it has surpassed you in every aspect of mobile technology. I just feel like crying unceasingly. Resurrect your unforgettable clamshell V-series design, equipped with latest technology, screen at least 2.6 inch, amazing sound quality, powerful battery backup with latest Android. And I am 100% sure you'll again make history by selling more than 50 million units. Come on you are the King.

  • Hi, everyone, did you found after upgrade our RAZR i, we can not connect to PC anymore? my phone can not recognized by PC(there is no mass storage option, only MTP and PTP in USB computer connection setting.

  • Guys, just to let you know. I am using the SFR (France) version of the phone with an U.S. sim card. The phone just got updated to 4.1.2 two days ago. The phone feels very smooth, although I have noticed some applications are forceclosing. I have also experienced some bluetooth/wif issues ( sometimes the network can be found, although other phones can find it) Play Music is forceclosing sometimes( not experienced before). Camera ( believe it or not, it's even faster) you have now the option of removing the shutter sound! YES!!!!!! All togheter, a great phone, not the best looker, but works brilliantly. Onem thing, can't find any good case for it.Does anyone know where I could get something slim, eventually to cover the screen bezel?

  • Removed

  • I've had this handset for a few weeks: very impressed. Top features: >Very good battery life - all day plus some >Clear phone calls >Very fast >Ergonomic - small enough to use one-handed >Clear screen that's easy to read outside >Dedicated instant-on camera shutter button

  • Yes it does, I have this phone. And i have download a third-party keypad, it´s great. Are u goin to get it?

  • Could you tell me if it has a querty keypad please.

  • no, i have the same issue... have you fixed it yet?

  • FM radio works until you answer call/make a call. After that dreadful loud noise appears, at least on my "I"... It's a pity :(

  • Hey guys, bring other good news. As we know Razr I, supports radio with the "FM radio" application. then the only weakness of razr I, is that does not support flash player. BUT i found a browser that has integrated flash player and is capable of reproducing flash player in razr I. Try it! its awesome, his name is "Puffin Web Browser" I'm not lying, is the only browser that allow me to play flash player. (without install flash player because is not possible). I tried skyfire and dolphin. which are supposed to have integrated flash player but it didnt work with them. so if you want to play flash player try with "Puffin Web Browser". (im NOT root user). I hope in the future razr I supports flash player. Maybe with the jelly bean upgrade. but for now this is my solution. There are other solutions on the web, but you have to be root user. (sorry for my bad english)

  • Nice phone - have had the phone for the last 5 days. Great battery life. I installed FM radio and it worked ! great XDA. Very fast - camera wasnt so good but atleast I dont struggle and limit use just to make sure it gets the whole day. Great battery!

  • Got this phone just after christmas, upgraded from motorola defy. I am very impressed with it. Have found it really easy to use and very responsive. Use it for calls, text, email and as a laptop on the move. Can't believe how advanced it is compared to my defy. I would highly recommend this to everyone and sing its praises from the roof tops!

  • JB update is seeding right now for Razr i...

  • hey guys, you can download "fm radio" application and u will have fm radio. i have it and it works without wifi or 3g. like a normal radio. this is because razr i have an internal chip for radio, but has no application to run it. i have "fm radio" application. I used the application in places without signal and without wifi and it works great!!! receive all local stations. you need to connect the headphones for it to work. razr i is awesome (sorry for my bad english)

  • It has radio as a hidden feature. Carriers don't like phones with radio, they want you top use MB

  • This is a great phone, I have been using it since nov-2012. Is fast, actual multitask, works great on 3g, wifi. Great screen, videos look great, good sound, use it for six email accounts and get emails on time always, , also have installed more than 30 apps and all of them work great. No problem with my microSD either. Bluetooth works nice, best Motorola ever. Don´t know why most the world only think of Iphones and S3.

  • theres no radio in the official specs but theres a thread in xda developers about making the radio work without even rooting just by installing the radio app.

  • NO radio !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF

  • Nope, not HDMI nor MHL.

  • is this xt890 phone support HDMI?

  • Get your facts straigt. if your RAZR i faulted as you described it's because of something YOU did. App, spyware, virus and so on. Otherwise it would have happend to all, and there's no reason why it would happen after 25 days and not the first day or so. Retrace your steps, find out what you did before it started to malfunction. Secondly, you can hard reset/shutdown your phone by holding the power button and volume down for 15 seconds. After this you can start the phone in boot recovery mode to perform a complete factory reset if necessary*. Then upgade to jellybean, that update is seeding now I think. Also, it doesn't matter if a phone is budget, middle class or high end (the RAZR i is middle class btw), all phones can malfunction if it's owner doesn't know what he or she is doing. *How to factory reset if you can't do it in the phone menu: 1) Ensure the handset is powered off 2) Hold down the VOL DOWN and press the POWER ON key The phone will power up in Fastboot Flash mode 3) Press the DOWN VOL until "Recovery" is highlighted, then press the VOL UP key to select. A picture of an Android will appear in the screen witha "!" symbol 4) Press VOL UP and VOL DOWN simultaneously A blue Android system recovery menu will appear 5) Press the VOL UP / VOL DOWN keys to highlight "wipe data/factory reset" then PRESS the POWER ON key to select. The phone will now clear the data to factory reset which takes about a minute.

  • best cellphone ever, recommended.

  • mee tooooooo!!

  • Hi, I have had my motorola razr i for 25 days and it has crashed; the geek squad at the car phone warehouse has said that it was a software fault... what actually had happened to it was that it wouldn't come up with the pass word page or home page, the only way I was getting it to work was by the camera button and even then I couldn't see the pictures that I and my friends had took. The worst thing was when it went wrong was the fact that I could NOT turn it off, because I couldn't take out the battery. Overall, my conclusion is that if my motorola razr i went wrong with a software fault within 25 days of having it, that is very bad for a high end phone.

  • Hard to say, that depends on Motorola. It seems this model won't come to Indonesia. But, nobody knows later.

  • i havent tried these games tbh but 95% of the games i searched for were compatible. You might wanna leave a comment in the store so the developers take notice.

  • Im the only one with games crashing at the start ? Games like Candy Crush Saga, Little Things, Santa Rockstar, and a few more crashes after the splashscreen.

  • I am using it. and using motorola from last 2 years. Razr I is also best build set again from motorola. Battery excellent. Love motorola.

  • you know that there's numerous file managers available on the play store, right?

  • This phone ticks ALL the boxes. 2000mah battery with single core 2ghz processor = amazing battery life. 4.3" screen with the width of 60mm! Android os. splash resistant coating. only thing i feel is missing from the phone is 1. system wide file manager 2. micro hdmi out port... otherwise perfect.

  • I have had this phone since October 2012 about a day after it came out. I rate this phone 100% best phone I have had. The processor speed is amazing. 2ghz! The camera quality is average but even still it's good. That's what a professional camera is for isn't it? E-mails I can do easy enough due to the Hotmail application. Battery life is amazing. Mine has lasted nearly 2 days without charge and that's with listening to music for majority. I dropped my phone today from nearly 4ft in the air onto hard wooden flooring. Did it crack? no did it stop working? no I was quite surprised. This phone is amazing!

  • Thank you.

  • buddy even the all american iphone is made in china . Dont worry though the build quality is perfect, only comparable to nokia.

  • I have a question:All the Motorola phones are assembled in China? I searched for this, but I couldn't find a good answer. The phones on the images are assembled in China. The problem is I don't really trust them, and I am not the only one. It's strange that when I buy a Motorola, in fact I will get a Chinese phone. Because Motorola is an American company, all their phones should be made in America!

  • Is this phone available in South East Asia (Indonesia)?

  • t-mobil 21p/m

  • Err...£30p/m is all I could see on UK site.

  • Yes, third party keyboard apps support this feature. Can't remember any of their names. Most of them are paid apps.

  • If you live in UK or Ireland, they are giving these phones away for free on TescoMobile. Its a 24 month contract paying 20Euros a month...

  • Anyone know how to roo this model??? Cheers

  • thats the downside of the "edge to edge" diplay

  • good phone don't drop it on the corners its a weak point and the screen smashes terribly and replacement are ridiculously expensive

  • Is there anyway i could type using an alphanumeric keyboard on this phone? I cant seem to do it

  • Im using a 16gb kingston microsd-hc card and its working fine. Might be the brand your using.

  • Nop..am based in Bucharest, Romania

  • R u Jai singh from USA, NC ?

  • Good phone overall. Excellent screen. Impressive battery life for a smartphone of this class. One problem though: the phone cannot seem to read microSDHC, although it has no problem with microSD. I cannot find any specifications stating what kind of cards it can read, so it's just my personal experience.

  • CPU part should be 2ghz single core Saltwell with HT instead of just 2ghz intel atom..

  • Walked into the store looking for a nexus 4 but ending up settling for this....quiet handy....nice build quality...has a very good feel to it...impressive performance...with google's backing motorola is moving up the food chain quiet fast...keep going moto...cheers!

  • No mac users?

  • Amazing phone. The build quality is one of the best. Highly recommended

  • From where did you purchase this?

  • just got this phone and im really impressed. blazing fast speed especially in browsing. haven't run into a single incompatible application till now. just for the record its color is actually much darker than it looks in photos.

  • Hi without any hesitation buy this cell phone. It is very simple to use. I'm full satisfied with Motorola xt890.

  • How sync iTunes OS X?

  • It is easy too, you just tap the soft key that located at the bottom right side corner and slide out one by one.

  • Hi! I have a question, my parents have other motorola with android, and apps are always running, them can't close them; I tried a samgung galaxy and it's so easy to close apps with the button. I want this mobile, but I'm afraid I can't close apps, doesn anyone know about this???

  • hi all. who could tell me how much razr i is,$us? thank!

  • Only in the sim card, or in your gmail account.

  • i have just reserved this phone. i went thought the instructions and set out as its said and the phone is telling me i can only make emergency calls, i do have my sim in the phone does anyone know how to solve this problem ?

  • Good Morning, Somebody can tell me which phone is better the motorola xt890 or the motorola atrix HD, I read the specification form both and the HD looks better but I like more the Razr i, somebody can give me some advice I am a motorola Fan

  • There is the option to save the contacts in the phone's internal memory instead of saving to the SIM card?

  • This phone is great!... good signal, fast browsing, GREAT battery life...camera is ok(if you want great or excellent picture quality, its not for you)...anyway... i must say i think I LOVE THIS PHONE...lol!!... and Im shocked to say so, because Ive always been a nokia guy(this is my first android phone)...overall...i would buy it again if i had to!!

  • I have this phone & iPhone 5 also. In the terms of internet this phone is better than iPhone! No lags, no wifi issue to connect on internet at all. Poor camera & sound quality are the downside only!

  • what software do i use to update to jelly bean when it becomes available? i was on symbian so i want to know what's motorola's equivalent of nokia suite..

  • Had this phone now more than a month plus I already Owen Galaxy S3. This phone 1) Fast 2) no lagging 3) battery life is Amazing 4) the design and size holding it in hand is great. I had dropped it and see no scratch 5) Friendly keyboard compare to Galaxy S3 . For my daily use is a great phone. what I no like about it are: 1) sound on earphone low if you are in noisy area then you have big problem 2) Very poor Camera 3) some App's no comparable. This is only complain which I have but Galaxy lovers which use all features of S3 might add some more disadvantages. For my daily use and Battery life this phone is just great

  • I recently bought it and I'm loving it! Does It have Mhl?

  • Hi everybody, What countries that Motorola RAZR i XT890 launched? Thank you.

  • Yes Pk! It has a notification LED and works perfectly with Light Flow.

  • Yes.

  • Got my xt890 a month ago and I'm completely in love with it. Fast, great camera, great videos, easy to handle, enormous screen for videos, open office files very fast.... I dont know, its great, if I could, I would make love to it.... lol.

  • Does this droid have a notification LED? If yes, can you use the Custom Flow app to customize the LED? Thanks and cheers.

  • Excellent device! AAAAA+++++ I've been using it for 2 weeks when I sold my old Blackberry Storm II. I'm in love with my Motorola RAZRi XT890, it's super fast, very stable, easy to handle, and very light but strong. It's a pleasure to touch the screen, because the response is immediate. Its resolution is awesome, the quality of its pictures and video is excellent, very good audio. I accidentally dropped it, but it did not get any marks or scratches. My best friend just got an Iphone 5 and I challenged him to put our smartphones in a competition. He didnt believed his eyes he had spent over 7 times what I paid for mine renting the same plan in out cellphone company.

  • i want one!!!!

  • I have this phone for a week and it's amazing how fluent it is... I have a Galaxy Nexus and this is more fluent than the GN. good for intel.

  • Design very artistic.. 2 thumbs up for designer

  • where?

  • Skype hum, can you use, yes! hu-hu-hu-hu!

  • yes, skype works perfeclty

  • Yes you can just need to download the free app from android store

  • YES! You can use SKYPE for this phone. Because i have one.....

  • Yes, you can. Skype works with any Android device 2.1 version or higher. (:

  • yep

  • Yes, You can. I have used Skype with voice and video, with no problem. The frontal camera works perfectly.

  • yes you can

  • emmmm in my SE live can use skype.. i mean... duhhh!

  • Please i need urgent reply. Can i used Skype in Motorola RAZR i?

  • Please i want to know that can i used Skype with Motorola RAZR i.

  • Thanks, that was my biggest reason for hesitating to buy it

  • I have this phone, camera quality is better than galaxy S2 , I don't know why they underrated the camera.

  • can it get uncomfortably hot? I live in a hot country and this would be an issue for me.

  • Hey users, How is the camera, so bad as they say here?

  • Very good phone really fast don't underestimate the singlecore the only thing is that it gets a little hot on the back when running lots of apps, but i guess that happens with all smartphones...

  • The secondary camera have a 3mpx is not a vga camera

  • This phone is best one I've ever used! Using for browser, it's faster then galaxy S3. Of corse it's no bether on gaming. This phone is amazing!

  • got my update about an hour ago, go into settings, about phone, software update and it should be there :)

  • does it have tv out option? i already know it doesnt have hdmi port so its quit important that this phone at least support tv out.

  • Hi, is metal and kevlar fiber

  • Yes when is the razr I getting updated , no information at all.

  • Is it plastic or metal body? Is it carbon fibre or "carbon fibre look" at the back?

  • This handset it excellent, I'm coming from an old iPhone 3GS, but have used the 4s and the 5 so am able to compare. The OS is the biggest difference I'm noticing so far, lets be honest iOS is massively outdated now, poor notifications that interrupt what you're doing... So far ICS 4.0 is vastly superior, perhaps there are a few more steps to a couple things (uninstalling an app requires an extra step compared to iOS) but it's worth it for the additional functionalities you have in android. Smart functions is amazing, when you plug it in at night you can choose the phone to automatically go into a do not disturb function but with the option to allow certain callers to come through, all without you doing anything. Want navigation to start when you are driving? There's a smart function for that. Amazing. This phone has a great screen, good battery life, very compact (huge plus) and an all round fast phone. Highly recommend this handset.

  • great price for a new one . where was that?

  • Does anyone know when the jelly bean update is coming to the RAZR I? I've looked on the motorola updates page but all it says is, there is gonna be one. Doesn't say when.

  • Does anyone know when the jelly bean update is coming to the RAZR I? I've looked on the motorola updates page but all it says is, there is gonna be one. Doesn't say when.

  • If you plug your phone into a pc you'll find a folder named "ring tones". drop your track into there and then it will show up when you go to select a ringtone on the phone.

  • I'm from Romania. I would love to buy this phone, but i didn t find it. Please tel me were i can buy this phone

  • usd 400 in Chile

  • i bought mine on 249 new in a retail store.

  • found it for 395 euros in an online retailer in france

  • Romania, 415 euros, the lowest, corrected now...

  • available in Romania, also, form various retailers, the lowest price, 315 euros.

  • Yes, and if you buy it from the UK, the firmware will be the UK firmware and when that is ready for an update - you will receive it. Probably not OTA (Over The Air), but by using Motorola's sofware update on your computer. Same as I have to do as Motorola once again have pulled out of Northern Europe.

  • but I live in North africa not in europe..

  • You would get the updates as they will be available in the region you purchased it. It's based on firmware version. Though you will most likely not recive them OTA, but through your PC and Moto's software update progam.

  • would it make a difference with software updates if i buy this phone from europe and use it in a country that will probably not see the release of this phone?

  • no. aviable in frenh.england, skandinavia some joke?in east europe aviable.in Serbia. aviablle price 485 euro.

  • would it make a difference with updates if i buy it unlocked from the uk for example and use it in a country that might never see its release??

  • is it available in manchester

  • Gotta say I love the phone, is quick is stable I have watched at least 2 movies bought form iTunes in 720p and 1080p, they both look excellent and smooth. Surfing the web is also sleek. Bluetooth and the wireless card which is a dual channel(I have it on 5Ghz). Colors, I love it. Could record in 1080p and 720p. Get it now

  • Yup

  • 12 Hrs to 16 hrs, exelent battery life, also has like sleep mode and turn off all the things and qhen you want it turn on in seconds and consume like 2% of battery in like 10 hrs

  • Is this sim the same as the galaxy s 3 ...

  • Yup, will be interesting to see when I have it in hand and can compare to SIII, One X+ and others :) Just 10 more days to wait now, approx.

  • waiting for this to be released here in egypt..

  • The best phone that I ever had! Excelente battery, performance, image...

  • But benchmarks that you can make on this phone aren't written for this procesor and chipset, so it's hard to say that this phone is weaker than others

  • I was able to use a .mp3 as ringtone very easily .. just copy the .mp3 to the ringtone folder. Once you do that the .mp3 will show up automatically on your ringtone list :)

  • How is the battery performance of Motorola in general and Razr i in particular? any First hand experience?

  • Can't it play flash video? In future, would it possible to play Flash with software update to Jelly bean? any idea?

  • Hey, how is the battery performance of Motorola phones especially Razr i? anyone has hands-on-experience?

  • RAZR i is the better choice :)

  • does it really have an overclocked processor? I live in a hot country and i'd always be stuck on the base speed then.

  • hello I like this phone so beautiful and sexy they say recording bit bad that I can not really think or just ask me if this phone update brings some changes all they say if you get a phone update that camera bit better is that where you can keep me increased thanks all sorry for lack language

  • Is it available in France?

  • Good question, Anonymous. How in the name of all things small and furry can I get it play music as a ringtone? Awesome in its speed, multitasking and simplicity in linking to Google, but the ringtones? No idea...

  • so which countries have this phone been released in till now? It's already out of europe but i'm still waiting for some good news here in Egypt.

  • Motorola Razr I or Motorola XT910 ? after all, what's the best? what better option to buy?

  • Got one, it's faster than Galaxy SIII, pretty good for a Motorola...

  • Hmm, have to check that out as well. I know RAZR i is weaker in synthetic benchmarks, but of course - real world application can definetily be different.

  • I'm not really sure it was a Razr M or was a Razr i. Either one of them. Never asked the girl from that red-colored stall they had. I just asked if I could test the thing coz it really looked interesting. Now I feel happy was able to use a Razr M or a Razr i. I'm a tech geek so I'd get the Razr i for its intel processor. Have you seen in youtube how much faster it is than the S3? Even in multi tasking. Razr i smoked S3.

  • Really? You tested Razr M at sm north? Where? I was looking around the annex part for motorola stall/shop. I didn't find one. :(

  • Go get the Razr M, it's got 4G. Basically the same as Razr i in design except for the intel processor inside. And the shutter button. I might have tested a Razr M at SM North a week ago. Not really sure that was a Razr M.

  • I will go with Razr-I for sure. The camera is decent and burst mode allows multiple photos to be taken per shot. The processor is much faster giving better overall experience.

  • Razr M gets a 9 for design and Razr i gets 8. These phones are identical, siamese twins. Who rates this crap? Even Razr i has a shutter button. Razr i should get a 10, then.

  • Hmm... looks sexy enough for me. And 4G speed down here in Brazil is not so important yet.

  • the secondary camera its nos VGA, it is a 1.3 megapixels camera.

  • how do you change ringtone to a song that has been sent via bluetooth

  • The down side of this phone is its not 4g.. :(

  • Does this device support app2sd ???

  • sorry dude, this phone doesent support flash, because of its intel processor, but it probably will just give it some time ;)

  • This problem actually doesn't occur on all Razr i models, but it unfortunately seems quite common, I guess you were really unlucky. I'm ordering mine next week, and am hoping that this won't be a problem, since I listen to music on my phone a lot. Check the forum of XDA developers for more info on the hiss topic.

  • Yh I'm not goin to lie the cam on it is not the best but by far not the worst I'm going to have a play with a 820 to day n see how it is and for the torrent iv not try dl them or magnet

  • Yh I'm not goin to lie the cam on it is not the best but by far not the worst I'm going to have a play with a 820 to day n see how it is and for the torrent iv not try dl them or magnet

  • Yo, James, can you download torrent files and those magnet links on the Razr i? I'm torn between getting a Razr i or a Lumia 820 this weekend. And how about sound quality on music and video playback and of course call quality? Is the camera really that bad as what gsmarena says? I think the Razr i's the best phone out there with a 2ghz intel processor. But gsmarena gave a bit some bad review with the camera.

  • I have this phone and I'm I iphone 4s user and this is the only phone that has made me leave the iphone at home and evan think about selling it and the battery life is so good. my iphone I have to put on charge when I'm at work. with this I no that I'll still have battery for the way home for music

  • Has anyone been able to install adobe flash on this phone?

  • I have this phone and it works awesome. About gamming, I have played Dead trigger and Sky gamblers and it works smooth with any problem. You can see this video of how it works with NFS: bitly.com/STySAh About capacity, you can see this comparation: bit.ly/YPw60O with the iphone 5. It will surprise you. Obviously, it's no so good like iphone5 or S3, but it's 200-250 /$ cheaper and in two weeks it hasn't lag any time for me. And it doesn't heat up like a Galaxy phone. The size it's perfect for my hand (similar size than the iphone 5). Camara works good. It's not the best, but in the normal photographs the quality it's more than aceptable. You can see another comparation about that: bitly.com/UxWzLc 3G and wifi runs perfectly, you can easy turn on and off, and it conect automaticaly.(I live in Spain) The problems I have find: -I can't turn off the sound of the camera. -Adobe Flash doesn't works. And the best of the best, the battery lasts two days with any problem, using: phone, whatsapp, music, playing, flipboard, etc.

  • This is an excellent mid range phone, the gaming is on this phone is pretty good.

  • so how's the actual experience with the phone and its intel processor?

  • I'm an iPhone user and this is my first experience with Android. I got interested in this phone, having to be the first smart phone with an intel processor. It may seem very fast but it's actually overrated, the phone lags when switching between home screen, apps menu, page manager and vice versa. Quad-core phones like the s3 are far better. The camera response is slow and the battery life is not long lasting, still better than iPhone 5 though. The phone only runs on 3G and there's no option to switch between 2G and 3G. The software doesn't accept flash, I don't know why but it doesn't allow me to install it. The touch response is good and the typing experience is amazingly excellent!

  • Dont know. Maybe. I was referring to SM North Edsa, as you may have heard they have joined with the warehouse club and is now the bigger than megamall and MOA (and #3 biggest in the world). So what i meant to say is that there is a Motorola sales stand in SM North Edsa, in The Annex. I would not know about Mall of Asia since i live a bit far from Pasay, not going there so often.

  • and i want to import brand new piece not the used one..

  • can i import it frm u.s by ebay? i dont think moto wud ever relaese smartphone in asia or india as per google policy..so pls anyone knows how to import in india?

  • So how's the gaming on this phone? The first look review says that it performed badly in GPU tests...how about in real life?

  • IS it dual sim Phone? Dual GSM?

  • Im a bit confused whether to get this phone or not. gsmarena review showed vital weakness on this phone's performance but user opinions here says otherwise. :(

  • do they already have razr i in MOA???

  • Very good phone

  • 2 weeks with this monster and it still surprises me. Awesome battery life, looks to drool over, camera is awesome for an 8mp (snowboarder here, love the multi shot and how clear each pic is)...hell, why go for hype? choose functionality! 2ghz Intel processor makes you laugh of angry birds lovers while you reap the concrete on NFS or while shooting your way in any first person shooter. Very hardly am i gonna leave this MotoGooInt partnership and choose an over-rated, over-hyped, new-model-every-year piece of junk. 4 thumbs up (yes, feet included)!

  • Perfect form factor and excellent battery life. Despite being a bit of a geek, this was the first smartphone I've bought, because it ticks all the boxes that no other smartphones have so far. Unfortunately there is a flaw in the handset that completely lets it down for me. The problem is high levels of hiss / interference when a speaker is connected to the 3.5mm jack while audio is not playing. There is also an unpleasant thump when the audio output turns on (i.e. immediately prior to playing audio) or off (a few moments after audio output is stopped). The hiss/EM interference noise reduces significantly immediately before and after playing audio i.e. seems to go down to an acceptable level once audio chip is taken out of 'sleep' mode. This happens regardless of whether the device is connected to wall socket. I tried various things - temporarily disabling MusicFX app and doing a factory reset no luck unfortunately. I have had the issue now with two handsets, both from Handtec (who have been excellent in terms of dealing with my return promptly and fairly). Currently I suspect this is an issue affecting all Razri handsets, unless someone can confirm otherwise? I am sending mine back for a full refund. If Motorola fix the issue and someone is able to confirm that it's been resolved, I'll up the review to 5 stars and make my purchase. If you are one of those people who would never connect your phone to anything except cheap earphones, and you're not fussed about audio quality when playing through speakers/decent headphones, I can strongly recommend this phone.

  • this is great phone . my friend buy it 1mounth later . its faster than atrix hd even .

  • i remember when i brought this peace of ----- in 1997. i believed thats the best i ever done in all my bloody life. but i mistake. my grandfather geppeto told me again and again, but i never hearded. but when i came out from the prision i saw in a cofee store and i stole it. now im in alcatraz and i use sometimes this phone

  • It lasts about 15 hours if you use it continously on 3G

  • Have had the phone for a few days now; it's really nice and light. I personally like the design; performance and battery are also great... For the price it's a bargain compared to the likes of iPhone5, S3 or HTC One X. Yes I know it's not as powerful... But I can honestly say its not far off... Quick question though, has anybody noticed that headphones dont't completely plug in ??? So weird lol

  • Great phone indeed. Very fast..loving it.

  • I have been using the RAZR I for the past 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it!! The battery life is unbelievable, the camera quality is great. The speed and smoothness of the phone is one of the best I have used. I think the Intel and Motorola partnership has been underestimated and will be a force to be reckoned with. There is no doubt that overall the Galaxy S3 will be a better phone but for a mid range price this handset is top end. Well done Intel and Motorola!!

  • Hi, does the 2000mhA battery hold full use day with 3G on?

  • u need 3g on to send mms pictures.. wifi wont work. Turn off your wifi first. If your 3g is already on and your wifi, and it still doesnt work, check under network settings and see if MMS access point is present and properly configured.

  • Be aware that this phone has a weak Wifi signal, if you already have weak signal with your current phone chances are that this Intel chipset will not have signal at all in the same places.

  • I bought mine from this site,http://www.expansys.com.sg/

  • why cant I send a pic message by text from my new phone? I have tried texting myself but this does not solve the problem!

  • Is there any chance that I can get this phone in Asia? I knew that Moto?Google pulled out from Asia pacific. Hope that they change thier mind.

  • u can buy thi phone in amazon.co.uk.it is still not in india

  • Cex have are selling unlocked for £280

  • Here, in Brazil.

  • so is this only going to be available throughout europe ?

  • Where can we buy this phone, unlocked and free of contract?

  • I can confirm the Razr i has a radio. and using the one and I'm using the radio. You need to he following down load the following apk

  • damn nice looking phone , wish this was available in australia :(

  • Better than GS3 and cheaper

  • Right so where to get started. I work for Orange Telecoms and got given this phone today as part of advocate scheme. A bit guttered as it was a Motorola which in the UK are notoriously bad. Made a bit of a stupid joke to the moto guy who corrected me telling me this phone was made by google because they have bought Motorola which i didnt know. So that intrigued me a bit. Turned the phone on and stuff and wow! What a machine! I have had nearly every phone under the sun (hence i sell them) ;) and this is by far the best. I have a HTC One X which i love and never thought i would love more but this phone is amazing! The screen is just absolutely beautiful, colours are vibrant and crisp. The software is cleverly laid out and well thought out. There is no WiFi signal issues which I have had to live with on every HTC and Aplle handset i have ever had. The camera, meh! Nothing special but still nice quality, videos are lush though! and the HDR mode is nice. One of my favourite bits though.... Return of a dedicated camera button!!! I do a lot of downhill MTB and trying to catch a snap quickly using a touchscreen while wearing gloves is a nightmare so this bit I like. The Phone has got some some really odd but cool features as well. The kevlar back is soooo cool, such a typical bloke's thing, its almost as if it was designed by Jeremy Clarkson! haha and when you lock the screen theres a really nice little animation as if you were turning off a TV. Build quality is not better or no worse that HTC One X or Galaxy S 3. And i save the best to last...*drum roll please* The processor! Jesus this thing is faster than Rick Walla on a greggs run! I have never experienced anything like it. And for the critics yes I am fully aware that there is a minute selections of android apps and features that don't work as of yet while the software is being modified, but who actually gives a fuck! You dont buy a Ford GT expecting to have a large boot but you still fucking want one. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact this phone looks like the lovechild of the HTC Desire HD and the Nokia Lumia 800 it would be a 10/10 but this is the easiest 9.5 i have ever given. Top notch Motorola/Google who ever you weird minded people are. You have done proud.!

  • The most interesting in that video is the display, the S3, same as S and S2 before it, is so very blue where it should be white, while the moto has a nice pure white color. This has always been my main problem with Samsung S series Amoled displays, its so totaly unacceptable. Galaxy Note is better a it doesnt have the strong blue tint, but it again has no grey scale.

  • Razr i is the most popular Moto on GSMArena now, still the daily interest is only 11%, thats well below even "rarities" like Xperia TX that is a phone for Asia only. Moto shud do something about their international presence, they are only easily available through the big US carriers, none in europe and rare in asia. Example, the biggest mall in Metro Manila, which is also the third biggest mall in the world, there is not a motorola store! Only a small sales stand hidden in one end of an annex to the main mall.

  • Razr I beats Galaxy S3 in multi tasking. Check out the video comparison;

  • regarding audio quality via headphones: i've now had the chance to try 2 different devices. both units were brand new from reputable retailers here in the uk and delivered 7 days apart. the first unit had quite a bit of noticeable 'hiss' playing audio with my own headphones (shure srh840) attached. it was only noticable on very quiet areas (intros/outros etc) of songs. but it was noticeable and certainly unnacceptable. the second unit was delivered over the weekend. this unit has no noticeable 'hiss' as described above with the same set of headphones. not sure if the initial unit was defective or something moto have amended in newer batches? either way i'm more than happy with the audio quality now on the replacement razr i and can fully reccommend it to others! could it be thate the gsmarena test unit had the same problem i had on my first device?

  • I don't own a RAZR i, I'm commenting by the specs, review and videos where the UX is shown.

  • Do you even know what your talking about, txtin is bliss, not like that giant remote control of a mobile oops i mean iphone5, and as for that flat biscuit tin HTC one x,y,z blah blah etc etc. These fon's have nothing on the RAZRi, the cpu is fast, maybe your network provider is slowing your fone down, that's why you are talkin nonsense about thye RAZRi, lol.

  • I can't swallow this phone. It has the bad pentile display, terrible design and overall no attractives. Also I don't know what some people see in vanilla Android, it offers the worst mobile experience of current mobile UIs (maybe we can forgive Google as iOS is even worse, but ok...) - everything is mixed you get widgets on your app drawer, ugly effects, non-customizable lock screen, plain menus (why did Google drop the easier to identify and to tap icons on the visual menu it had up to Gingerbread?? No one can cite advantages of the pure text menu we have now), etc. If you don't want a special camera, better screen, design or experience all other similar priced or cheaper phones have to offer that's your phone, that's all I can say.

  • Check it up:

  • Motorola and scandinavia? I doubt it, Moto isnt interested in small market like that, the consumer right laws are so strict, a small manufacturing defect they could get away with in the US would mean disaster for the scandinavian distributor. This is the downside of the strong consumer rights in scandinavian countries, its hard for non-established manufacturers to get a foothold, it requires high investments that not all manufacturers are willing to take. Check qxl.no, maybe someone with good reputation there can sell you one. I could possibly sell some myself there but as of now i dont know when it will be available where i live and i would still need to find someone to bring it there.

  • Does anyone know is this phone going to be available in Europe/Scandinavia before the end of 2012? Or at all?

  • How to unlock the bootloader and root the Motorola Razr i xt890

  • Its is best mobile in meerut

  • Razr i Owners - Can you comment on the pictures quality? People raised questions about it and asked gsmareana to check it on other devices and until they answer, can you maybe answer on this issue?

  • Can't seem to work the taking a picture while recording a video. On YouTube works on American version but looks like UK version hasn't got it enabled.

  • Common sense is a flower that does not grow in everyones garden... ..But looks like phonegeek007 does not even have a garden.

  • Its not because of the architecture or instruction set. Multitasking capabilities comes from hyperthreading, which basically makes one CPU core work as 2 virtual cores. This requires some duplications of functionality inside the CPU, but not much compared to a dual core. Hyperthreading proved to be very good on Atom, because of its in-line execution style, so everytime one thread is waiting for data the other thread can do some work. This idle time would otherwise be wasted. The video capability is because of the chipsets built-in 1080p/30fps encoder and decoder, its hardware encoding, not utilizing raw CPU power in the same way as a software encoder. This chipset also have a built in image signal processor, capable of processing 240 megapixels per second, i guess its helping the system to process image data in video recording too.

  • Micro SIM matey

  • If you don't know, ARM and x86 are DIFFERENT ARCHITECTURES, thats why you don't need more than 1 cpu core to have multitasking and record fullhd videos with this Intel Atom.

  • hello guys is this a micro sim or standard sim?.. thx

  • What do u mean 2Ghz is of no use? Go to look at the comparison between this phone and the Galaxy S3 at teh Youtube linked done by the Razrguy where you will see when there are apps running at the background, the Razr i still performs really fast, even faster than the S3 in many aspects. Dont forget Intel has hyperthreading technology built into teh processor which is capable of multitasking, just liek your desktop and laptop PC. You should see for yourself before making this unjusted comments which has meanings at all.

  • 2ghz processor is of no use when it can't handle multitusking. Neither is one 1gb ram. This is a toy. Go suckadoodling. Hi haa ha ha ha.

  • Wut? Since when do single-core Androids record full HD?

  • Very good comparison. Also note that razr-i is in mid range segment but performs on par with top of line phone.

  • razr-i is faster than razr-m. please check the performance data. It has longer battery life as well and consumes way less idle power. It has the fastest boot up time and excellent browsing speed. The apps are much faster and comes with additional widi feature that lets you transmit videos directly to tv.

  • WOW!!! Razr i beats S3, watch the link,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SILUVIwiNF0

  • been using the razri for a few days now. battery life good. switching between apps very fast.very easy to use the smart apps function and it does save battery.

  • wow.... superb phone,.. i called this Hi performance phone

  • Ha, ha, Jellyfish for the RAZR i, like ICS for the Atrix.

  • Dude, read the comparative analysis of Razr-I with Razr-M. Razr-I (intel based one) beats Razr-M in battery life, idle power consumption is lower, faster browsing, fastest start up time, widi capable. Most application run faster than Razr-M version. It only lacks 4G support which is a non issue outside US. That seems to be the reason Motorola released faster Razr-I rest of the world.

  • The Android ecosystem don't need another fragmentation with another Android Atom(x86), some apps will need to be rewritten for x86...

  • why motorola not in pakistan ? big mobil markeet in pakistan

  • there is the razr m which is so much better because it got LTE and bluetooth 4.0. this phone is so useless. i wonder why moto doesn't call it the 3rd nipple phone. instead of the useless razr i they should focus on the m, make it available world wide and bring a razr m maxx version. hard to believe but motorola's marketing is worst than nokia's...

  • i have had the Atrix, defy+, RAZR MAXX. and in the 80's Motorola 8500x (or the brick)as it was known then. But this RAZR i is excellent, the battery does its job. After hearing spec writers saying the 8mg pix camera is not that good they are wrong it takes excellent pics, the smart apps function is a breeze to use, when you look at it it seems too small but when you hold it it fits just right for your palm, and with swype for txtin piece of cake, Although you cant use adobe 11 flash player, but there are ways around this, if you want to mess around with the bootable settings. An excellent package, lets hope the Jelly bean update comes soon. but that not a problem as this device is filled to the brim with tech.

  • Does all it claims and with loads of battery life not like i phone 5 full of faults

  • Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of buying a RAZR MAXX just because the extended battery life. Now i'll just buy RAZR i for better performance and a reasonable battery life. I don't mind charging my phone everyday, but i do mind charging the phone a few times a day. It's kinda annoying when it comes to business calls and all. Carrying extra batteries or portable chargers... But i'm still wondering if Motorola will announce a RAZR i-MAXX or something. If there are plans for something like that i hope that they'll make it before i buy RAZR i.

  • The Intel have proved in benchmarks that it consumes less battery power on almost all tasks compared to it's competition. This has roughly the same battery power as it's high end quad-core competitors of same nm, and this is mid range device. It's an all day phone meaning staying connected to 3G network, gps, bluetooth and varied use of surfing, calling, texting etc should be okay through the day on one charge. The main thing is that this is outperforms the old RAZR in screen brightness, battery power and computing and gaming power. It's a significant improvement at a great price. Only the Optimus 4x can be compared in it's price range, probably because the 4x is getting dumped now due to Optimus G. However, the optimus 4x - despite the large battery - has very poor battery life and it's is big, lumpy and has no proper black, no proper contrast LCD screen. When the SAMOLED in this RAZR has such great brightness, even brighter than the lcd of the iphone 5, the RAZR i is clear winner.

  • This phone has excellent battery life, much better than nearest competition. It beats both iphone 4s and iphone 5 in battery life. Great job by Motorola and Intel in achieving it.

  • This is NOT a major problem.

  • How is the battery life?

  • motorola is back they were off the market for a long long tym looks like they marketing lates tech these days :?

  • just got mine AND JUST WOW AMAZING !!!!! go for it Razr I

  • This phone need a good promotion. But love the new add gallery.

  • I don't know if "intel inside" will make any difference, but i'm concerned about the battery. I'm not convinced a 2000 mAh battery will suffice a handset with a powerful CPU. But if Motorola considers a RAZR i-MAXX... Well that might be a real hit on the market.

  • Hi everyone, to those thinking of ordering from Expansys uk, be careful as if you are ordering and want next day delivery, dont waste your money like i did for an extra £5.82 is a rip off coming by parcel force and not recieving by the next day, only to be told that it will be delivered on a normal 3 to 5 working days which is free of cause. So to some up next day delivery at extra cost means your getting your new phone many extra days later.

  • Seriously? An Intel Atom CPU...at 2GHZ!?

  • i can live with that, im going to use this for call/text/surfing net(facebook & youtube mostly)/games/mp3 player for my car. =) i just hope they can some of the features that is found on s3..

  • Just saw a fake (but uses same materials as the real thing) RAZR i in a Phones4U here in the UK. It is a LOT nicer in real life than you would think - very thin and compact. Size wise, it is the only real competitor to the iPhone 5, if you exclude the larger Galaxy S3 and HTC devices. Look forward to getting hands on the real thing.

  • It can be pre-ordered through expansys.it for 439.99

  • this should help you guys get an idea of iPhone 5 vs. Droid Razr M -->

  • No radio ?!?!?!?!?!? Is Motorola trying to copy iPhone defects??

  • Those days and still some say Motorola Sux big time , but now if someone say it in front of me , i'll tell him , can your stupid phone play HD games for more than 8 hours or standby without a charge for more than few weeks OR does it have a Intel CPU ? Then you come back when your phone can do that and now just go and F yourself !!!!

  • when is the new device Motorola RAZR i XT890 expected in india is the quality competative against the competion, Also which os is more reliable and has a better future Android or windows 8

  • estimated price in EU should be around 420

  • Simply awesome!!! This phone has all the features I wanted (dedicated camera button, Hot Swap MicroSD Card, "almost" pure Android", resistant) and promises of O.S. upgrade. Waiting for Christmas to buy this one (or Razr HD Maxx)

  • If it's anything like the RAZR and RAZR MAXX, then changing battery is easy. Pop off the the camera bezel (there's a opening in the middle on those) and unscrew one screw and you have full access to open the phone from either side. Simple job ones the battery starts to weaken over time and needs replacement. After 11 months of usage, nothing indicates any shorter life span. Even with daily charges - which I don't have - one shouldn't feel any loss in battery life until well into the third running year. In other words I shouldnt feel any significant loss until about 6-12 years from now when charging it every 2-4 days depending on use. And I'm pretty sure I'll have a new phone by that time ;)

  • droid Terminator , can you tell me what's the exact price of this monster in italy when it gets there ? I was planning to buy Razr maxx which is 360 euro now but if this's cheaper than that i'd go for this , Thanks in advance

  • Motorola presented certain future of smartphones with its corporation with Intel. I'm sure that RAZRi is, performance-speaking, the greatest smartphone ever produced. iPhone5? Galaxy S III. Nope, I'm sure that everyone who had this phone in his hand will keep it for any cost. Motorola used to be awesome cell phone producers, they were always putting quality in front of every other thing. They were kind of sinking down with their first Android smartphones but... Motorola strikes, once again. Great come-back Motorola!!

  • You don't know what you are talking about. The Razr Maxx is a high end phone that why the 3300mAh battery is available. But the Razr Intel is a mid range phone with 2000mAh and still giving you the full day on your phone. This battery lasting longer than the GS3 battery if you don't know. The Razr Intel is cheaper than the GS3, HTC ONE X, iPhone 5.

  • this phone with 2000mah after razr maxx with 3300mah?no thanks moto

  • i know right?

  • this is great moto + intel = big bang

  • awesome!!this is what im waiting for....hehehe '4.3 inch' but still compact enough to fit in my normal size hands.....hope phones like this will be release in the philippines.

  • Can some one confirm if this phone has WiDi that is used to wirelessly transmit full HD videos to TV. I have tried the feature on Lava Xolo 900 and it is amazing. Wondering why there was no mention of the feature during launch.

  • no. the battery is embedded inside the phone. very sadly nowadays motorola phones are all with embedded battery. and personally, i am not a fan of internal/embedded battery.

  • where is radio ? or why not radio

  • Don't buy a phone based on benchmarks alone. S3 have good bench, but crappy support in games, way worse then Tegra 3 and Qualcomm. Hopefully this will have good support in games as well, we already know that the surifing goes fast and smooth.

  • Thanks.

  • Does this phone have a hdmi port?

  • hope this would reach in the philippines. in anyway it would also be better if moto also release segments like the note thingy with of course intel processor inside. just a suggestion though

  • It is indeed a very good step of Motorola to bring out mind blowing, outstanding high end devices but Motorola should not let go or un heeded mid range section if its 'moto' is to re-claim its former glory which has been lost to Nokia & Samsung. Its a beautiful piece of advice from your die hard 'Fan' that you bring out devices ranging from 4000 to 7000. Abide by it and see the results...,!!

  • Motorola Razr M is for US market only. Motorola Razr i is for market outsode of US. Razr i will releas in Europe first

  • Does anybody know if the Motorola i comes instead of the Motorola m or both will be released in Europe? Thanks

  • Just see at the benchmark that they've shown to us before. Well, maybe it's not optimized for x86 processors, but still... I REALLY DOUBT if it's better than dual core Krait.

  • I just woul like to the type of battery on this phone. Is it replaceable? or I won't be able the change the battery. Thanks

  • i Dont understand with all you people why do you worry about cores hyperthreading blah blah atlast what matter how smooth fast it is check that and razr m scores over the s3 and i5 check yourself

  • It has Hyperthreading and two threads, so it work function as a dual-core when multitasking.

  • WOW nice razer I 2ghz is realy fast but i wonder how is the multitasking ? is it better then tegra 2 ? STILL A COOL phone

  • love ittttttttttttttt! :X

  • its Single-core but INTL i think its more good then Dual core and quad-core good job MOTOROLA GOGGLE most of people care about DUAL and QUAD core but they dont care about company but i think single core from INTL very good

  • this phone is greaaaaaaat

  • It was about LG's chief who was talking about the Optimus G? I don't know why they made it private. I wanted to see it. :P

  • The video is unavailable. Please tell me what was about in the video.

  • Competed?

  • I hope it can boot up at least Windows xp - and has at least 2 usb ports. If not. Then Android-wise performance seems to not be so good.

  • The one from GSMarena's preview included some benchmarks. Some good, some average. Benchmarks aside, support is what matters :) S3, in example, outperforms all tegra 3 devices in benchmarks, but has not the same graphics - nor games - as tegra 3. Even in a game as Dead Trigger, a S3 has to accept same graphics as my RAZR running a 300MHz SGX540. If you watched the press conference, you'd see that Intel and Moto have mapped the market, and found that gaming comes about 5th on our priority list. Gues how h low the score would be if they only counted heavy graphics gaming? First is camera, web browsing etc. So that's the main focus of the phones. That said, it will support games such as Dead trigger, six guns, Asphalt 7 and so on. Next gen. power games for Adreno 320 and Tegra 4 is out of all current phones' reach anyways. Will just have to accept lower graphics on those ones, if even offered.

  • im definitely getting this.. glad Intel made it to the game.. i hope it battery life will be fine knowing it feeds to its powerful hardwares

  • The 1.6Ghz atom in the XOLO 900 rivals the Tegra 3 and dual-core krait in most tests, apart from Linpack multithread. This is even more powerful, and said to be more powerful than leading dualcore (which of course is Krait). This will more than likely be a more powerful device than it's M sibling, which had to have dual-core krait to support verizon's 4G network. It's price is briliant and there's no phone in that range to compete with it. For us up in the north, this has a pre-order price of NOK 3325, right between the aging SII and Lumia 900, which are complete rubbish in comparison.

  • Please check it on the Internet. Now I am very busy, sorry.

  • Yse it supports hyper threading.

  • Awesome mobile. I phone 5 sucks. Great mobile ,great motorola. Great job moto

  • are u blind ? seems u don't see it has one core clocked at 2 GHZ .. calculate benchmark with just dualcore clocke at 2 GhZ and see what will be ..

  • Nobody knows what a cpu is and nobody cares.

  • Can you provide some real data?

  • Yes this one does

  • Atom CPUs are weak compared to Intel's Core-i3/i5/i7 processors and AMD's processors. They outperform any ARM based processor as they are IA based.

  • thats is one of the reason why i hate iphone 5! i xpected that it will be 12mp! but not sucks!

  • im bored with 8mp or 12mp!

  • awsome super phone

  • Are you realistic? Atom is weakest yes but it's also a mid range phone cheaper than the GS3 and iPhone 5.

  • Hi! As I know, Atom CPU's are weak. Today I saw some benchmark tests, and this phone was the worst.

  • I am with you i want to explain to folk about this CPU versus all the silly smartfone CPU but it would take to long..A top end GPU in a smartfone is nowhere near a bottom of the range computer O/S GPU its miles away..That why this is special device.. I have quadcore laptop and core 2 duo laptop both are equal ripping cd to disk. Its because the base clock speed is 2GHz on both and as cd uses CPU only to rip cd a higher clock speed will do better..I went to mates house with his 3.3GHZ base clock speed desktop to rip same Cd and it was 45 seconds less time to rip cd. Outcome overall is in most circumstances only a single core is ever used and i would rather have a Dual core laptop with 3.1GHZ base clock speed than my quadcore @2GHZ..Thats why this 2GHZ smartfone should be faster in overall daily tasks than quadcore Kraits 1.6GHZ plus its an Atom based CPU so more powerfull. Does Atom support hyperthreading?

  • Intel Atom CPU is based of IA which is best in performance. They could not make it pwer efficient until now for use in phones and tablets. Medfield Atom processors are highly power efficient and best in performance. Check out performance results on anandtech.com. It simply beats the competetion. This is an excellent phone and I wish it is available in US.

  • this is my nex phone . bye bye iphone 5

  • a single Intel atom CPU is deferentially better than any dual/quad arm CPU, don't understatement Intel.

  • The thing about this phone that is making people so exciting is that it has a dual core intel atom processor . The same single core version of the intel processor powered the lava xolo x900 and performed at par with quad core phones

  • 1GB RAM sucks too...

  • looks great and the battery is impressive. too bad the cpu has just one core

  • Intel - back to the drawing board:(

  • I saw some Benchmarks, and this is not so cool as they said. :P

  • Intel inside ;)

  • I wonder if the lack of features is because of the time it took to develop the processor. I am looking forward to the next generation.

  • megapixels aren't everything it's about the lens, if the lens isn't good enough you could have all the megapixels in the world and the image would still be crap yet you could have a 1 megapixel sensor and the best optics in the world and the image would be miles better

  • Wtf no radio. I m not buying.....anyways who cares

  • Wfk is on the end off dispaly black zone?? whay screen is not eage to eage?

  • motorola u back !!! finally 2.0 ghz phone , u the one

  • awsome

  • What's so special in intel CPU that make so much people really exciting? What's the difference with the others CPU such as cortex A9 in the samsung galaxy S3?

  • great phone . this is world wide phone and lte is useless . thx moto . ship to market faster

  • Come to singapore please, motorola looks very quiet in singapore.

  • do you have a benchmark test results to support your claims?

  • ow..2gh atom cpu

  • Your Iphone has more than that??? :P

  • Best in build quality!..Mid range spec

  • 8mp is plenty. its a phone not an slr

  • pixel density is not good enough in comparison e.g. to lower end Motorola Defy, also nearly 2 years old Atrix has better display.

  • This really seems like a downgrade from the Snapdragon S4 Razr M. In the benchmarks this phone is a disaster and only bests last years models. Really hope this will be different when the retail version launchs, or that the real razr M will launch in EU!

  • wow. this is promising. I like

  • No FM Radio? Fail for me...

  • only 8mp sucks!

  • no LTE ...sucks...

  • Superb phone by looking at its hardware but is the bluetooth really 2.1 and VGA for the secondary camera?

  • this is exactly RAZR M with just a change in the chipset. a comparison between M and I can show how the 2GHz intel processor stands up against the other 1.5GHz dual core S4 processor.

  • Up to 20h talk time with 2000 mAh???? That's better than Razr Maxx.

  • its a great device considering that it has a 2 GHz processor....

  • this phone is good and super configuration from 7 years i am using motorola and now i am plannin g to by razar

  • Sadly it has only 5 GB of user available memory. That's a little.

  • so basically a razr m with a 2ghz atom under the hood. someone should put them side by side to check out the performance differences.

  • This should come out in market wid various colours wht i feel lacking is the RAM its only 1Ghz make it 2 and make it super fast. Y they left the space below the screen, thescreenshould have been corner to corner and will be the best one screen techonology needs to be changed. the round widgets is a good addition caz currently we are downloading it and other apps make ur phone go slow.....

  • Motorola is raising star under the googles hand but they must think about the display and pixel density.

  • nice

  • Good job Motorola! Keep up the good work. What people will not like, is the lack of colors. Black is boring.
