  • After a happy year & half of constant use, the clamshell hinge started to go and today I accidentally dropped the phone and the cord holding the screen to the phone broke. That's it. Can't access all my lovely sms messages any more. I used Motorola's computer software to back it up, but only the short sms messages are saved to my computer, nothing over a page long, so all the musings and poetry are gone now. Shame.

  • Hu guys, I buy this phone a month ago, in black. The phone looks great and works pretty well (i do the last software update from hellomoto). I have one BIG problem and question for you: THE EXTERNAL DISPLAY! Mine is invisible outdoors, very hard visible indoors and only real visible in dark conditions! YOURS iS THE SAME? P.S.: And yes, the battery last a maximum of 2 days!

  • Guys, I'm new to this feature, what is iTAP??????????

  • Hi, I had a customer who bought a data cable for this phone in order to transfer pictures/music to the handset, which has a 2GB memory card in it. when plugging in the data cable from the phone to the computer, it asks him to upload software... Does anyone know of a website where you can upload Motorola software for a Moto U9 for free? Thank you

  • I can atest to that also....the phone freezes the screen goes blank when its ready, it turns on and off on its own never me again am sorry...but i like the flame when the phone closes...it was nice as a just buy.

  • this phone its super cool and fashion, my girlfriend bought it and had a nice screen, with a nice resolution, and the sound its enough to listen your songs with a clear sound, the battery may be its not the best point, with a soft use you may have 2-3 days of autonomy and the camera its quite good with nice pics but depending on the scene where you took your shots

  • I got the motorizr u9 gold in the mail today and it is a brilliant phone although we have wifi in our home and it seems to interfere with it (buzzing noise when calling) but other than that it is great.

  • I have had this phone for a little over a year it was great when i 1st had it,but now the screen freezes goes red then white then black. The key pad is sticking it also freezes i would never buy this phone again.

  • is it true this phone is no longer in production...

  • I would not recommend this phone, i have had to in the past 6 months and both are now broken! freezes and doesnt work, very annoying, to fix them would cost me and i have already paid enough money.

  • This motorola is very good. Just can not synchronize the calendar and schedule with my UBUNTU. How do I do this? Thank you all.

  • Well mine was a little slow also, but as soon as i went to modmymoto.com i found hell lots of mods and things that made my phone faster and cooler!

  • thanks a lot!! so you recommend buying this phone?

  • the menu is not too slow actually it only slows down a bit when u r listening to music and doing other stuff (example: reading text) the same time texting is easy..it has a rather comfy keypad

  • yes u can read your text messages while u listening to music u can read it on the external display too

  • i like this phone but im getting really really irritated with it i uploaded music on the memory card..the 1st round works fine but when i uploaded a few more songs (same folder as in the 1st round) this little bugged doesnt show the new songs in the mediaplayer.. the fileformat is not a problem cuz it plays just fine when started from the file-whatever its name please please someone help me out! thanks in advance!

  • im thinking of buying this phone but ive heard its menu is very slow. is it that slow that it gets on your nerves? also is the keypad smooth and not "stiff" so as to text easily? if anyone knows feel free to answer me. thanks in advance

  • $150 brand new, www.tigerdirect.com

  • Very nice phone, Highly recommended... Battery last for days without charging just with regular everyday talk. Nice menu, external display is touchscreen, very cool phone, it's only $150 brand new on www.tigerdirect.com

  • Hi! I'm looking for a new phone, and I'm thinking in getting this one. I love the look. But I only have one question: When you are listening music, can you also send o read a SMS, for example, without stop the MP3 player? The reason I ask is because I had a Samsung phone and I can't do any of those thing when I'm listening music. Can someone please tell me? Thanks!!

  • surprise; it does have speaker phone. after reading your comment, i called centennial and the operator directed me to the speaker phone. it doesn't work when your blue tooth is being used.

  • My U9 has speakerphone, not too sure why the specs says it doesn't... i'm pleased with my phone... well at least for now... Enjoy people...

  • It is a very nice phone. Its cam works better in light. sound quality is great. So at last i give it 9/10

  • I Would Never buy a phone without Speakerphone. I highly suggest you don't buy it until Motorola brings out a new version with Speakerphone.

  • Also available in gold color as I know...

  • Hows the text feedback? The keypads are plastic, just wanna know if the pick up is good and NO LAG? I dont like samsung plastic keypads since its kinda stiff and hard to text.

  • how much

  • Thank You!

  • purple and silver

  • Hi. Does this phone come in any other colours besides pink and black? thanks

  • The phone is awesomne! the music quality is superb. I've been using this phone for the last 4 months and i feel this is the coolest phone. the battery life is good, I don't understand why people say that this phone's battery doesn't last, it supports for about 2-3 days! if you want a phone which is best for music, camera, style and battery life buy this one its worth it!

  • no thats how it does

  • Oh and to add, the batterie stays only a day, you got to charge at night.

  • The phone style is okay. The camera isn't bad either depending on the lighting though. The music volume is great. However what i dislike is the fact that the phone reaction is a bit slow. When you press an icon then you select something it takes a couple of seconds until it opens.

  • my motorola u9 is turning on whenever i put it to charge...is the board bad??

  • it's a nice phone an all but if u ask me the only reason preventing me from getting this phone is that it is very slow

  • Can you tell me a site for skins for U9 please

  • Its a very good phone for music and cam. Music comparing to Sony W series is high. But the picture clarity is good in the outside nature, because it has auto focus in the inside lighting(flourecent) the clarity is not good, but in very bright lighting the clarity is good. And it has a backup time of 7hrs.Overall for music i give 10/10.Cam 9/10.

  • Wondering if anyone has had any issues with battery life? Mine only last one day before it needs recharging... i dont use the MP3 player as i have an ipod and have now purchased a new battery! I have been told that the software may need updating?

  • How do I get my Internet settings? Whenever I try to go on the Internet it tells me that my Profile is not set up. I have contacted MTN via 173 and they send me the wrong settings continously?????

  • yes it is a mob fullfilling your each and every desire it's just enough than a phone, recall it by name

  • can u download new games n themes xcept for those dat already xist on d phone?

  • How or can you remove the external clock on the front of the phone? Can you change the style of the flames on the front to something else, if so how??? Thank you in advance!!!!!!!

  • Hey there!Well to change it,you need to : 1)Go to menu and select 'Settings' 2)Select 'Phone Settings' 3)Choose 'Talking Phone' 4)Select 'Message Readout' and turn it off/on If your phone also reads out your digits, contact lists and emails, just turn those settings off as well.I'm currently having this phone and to be honest,I'm not really happy with it. 1)It lags WAY too much. 2)It tends to switch off all by itself?Even when I don't press the red button for a long time. 3)I don't seem to be able to change the themes easily.

  • does this phone has option tp make themes by your picture

  • This mobile is good, but your batery have litle time of conversations.

  • I think this phone its cool but the time of its batery is lowest!!!

  • I got that phone and it got so hot that it melted the keypad

  • i love the style, but talking time is not enough

  • could u plz tell me hw 2 update d firmware

  • plz can any1 tell me hw r wer 2 download firmware 4 u9

  • plz send the softwear file bcoz my cell is henge/stod n not active

  • jst go to talking phone then uncheck your preference there..mssgs..contacts..and its done

  • How can i change the brightness on the keypads where i punch in my numbers, huh?

  • don't buy it. mine freezes up and i have other problems with it and this is why i bothered to reply to your post.

  • i need to kno if i can download the installation cd from the net cos i lost it

  • my U9 read the text messages when I receive them. Even the person's name! how do I change that??? i tried talking phone but it didnt work

  • can i play AVI format in my moto u9 any how?

  • It displays simply the contact name or phone number of the incoming call along with the time in a smaller font and a background graphic from the active theme.

  • does anyone know what the outside screen displays when receiving incomming calls? does it scroll the information or does name and number appear all at once? does it have ringer id? pic id? is it loud? i am thinking about getting this phone, thanks

  • i hav motorokr u9,I cannot play Dcf and Avi format file, it ask for license. can i use without buying license

  • is this a good phone to buy because i am considering buying it really soon so i need to know all the pros and cons

  • The only way I know is: 1)Get a micro-USB to mini-USB adapter to convert the plug to mini-USB 2)Then get a mini-USB to 3.5mm jack adapter to convert to 3.5mm Or get a Bluetooth with 3.5mm jack...like Moto's own S605

  • Stylish bugger. The screen on the flip is unique and so is the screensaver on it. Nothing wrong with the phone. It is solidly built. I suspect its a tag too feminine. But no denying its one of the most petite beautiful looking phones in the market.

  • is there any way to attach 3.5 mm jack, PLease tell ASAP

  • I was just trying to help.... I just like Moto phones and worry its mobile phone division maybe sold to someone else, hence I started to "collect" Moto phones last year (more than ever), that's why I ended up with more than 14 Moto phones in less than 12 months. Though if someone else still owns a U9 and can answer all the questions, I wouldn't mind to shut my mouth in the U9 forum from now on. Actually if you or anyone else can share more on every other Moto phones, I wouldn't mind to shutup at the other forums here. Can't believe someone trying to help gets bashed here...

  • laura select contacts>>options>>>send msg (type msg)>>>send...that's what your asking for.... "100 MOTO" you obviously are a moto rep for a call center as no level 3+ techie would waste there time for this unless moto is paying you for the help...i wanna know if motorola gave rights to the sp's to override the ringtone section for play of dcf only as i'm sure you know what a dcf file is *DAMN ENCRYPTIONS*...also will bitpimp work for overiding sp's CRAPPY mp3 players AKA rogers player

  • Sorry I don't have my U9 with me anymore (gave to my friend already, as I've too many Moto phones..) Did you try to go to Option and then select Enter Number?

  • You can tell me how to send a message because when it s ready to be sent appears "enter number"and it is more simple to choose a contact from phone list, but i dont know how to do that?

  • can anyone tell how to enable location indicator Which is given is user manual page no:22

  • this is like the best phone ever.. i had this phone for about 5 months and lost it i cried for days lol ...jk jk ..i had the black version ..super gothic man the phone have a very nice display quality... but small ...the audio from the headphone is mind blowing when set right touch feature works very good no glitches the down side is its moves slow you cant rush the phone to do tings fast and soem how you cant turn off the anoying click sounds for the camera but there is a update firmware to fix that other than those downfalls the phone is good...it looks cheap and fragile but trust me I had soem serious falls from stairs the bear hard roadside walkway and to getting soaked in the rain...and was working still good buy 8 / 10

  • Your SIM card should work on most GSM phones...given they're unlock (and the phone runs on the same frequency as your network service provider) Last nite I was talking with my friend who is using U9...couldn't tell he was in the (Chinese New Year special) night market (with lots of people yelling!) until he told me so. Crystal Talk + flip design still offer the BEST voice quality than any other phone on the market!

  • Can I use my sims card from my motorola pebble u3 in this phone.

  • Suggest you to take your phone back to your Moto service center. Never happened to any of my Moto phone

  • Does anyone know how to change the file type that the camera takes from ext. type to something I can open on my PC ?

  • i was trying to bluetooth contact info off my U9 to another phone and it froze. i took the battery out put it back in turned it on and now the phone doesnt go any further than hellomotto. Any ideas on how i can fix this myself? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've not used U9 before but since it's Linux, same as my previous V8 and my current E8, you can try if this procedure works. (Just another way of applying your music as ringtone) Select and play the music you want to set as ringtone, while the music plays, at the bottom of the screen select "Option", then select "Apply to", then press "Ringtone". Hope this helps.

  • Did you try Profile -> (scroll to the message tab) Message Alert -> Select Ringtone -> Music?

  • Hi, thanks for your reply. I can play the mp3 files using the phone but when i go to settings, profiles, and then try to choose a mp3 ringtones, it doesn't list any of them. I also tried making the length of the mp3s to less than 30 seconds but to no avail. It only shows the preloaded .dcf tones. Do you think fido blocked this feature of the phone so that people can buy their ringtones?

  • Were you able to listen to the MP3 songs through the music player? If so, try go to Setting -> Profiles -> Ringtone Line 1 and then select the MP3 file you want to set as ringtone. Let me know if the problem persists.

  • I have a rokr u9 through Fido. But it's not recognizing mp3 files for ringtones. All the preloaded ringtones are in .dcf format. Any idea how i can use my own ringtones?

  • Both offer cleary voice quality as a flip phone with Crystal Talk. Major difference is U9 supports external memory card of up to 8GB (according to my own experience, it works), while V8 only has 2GB "internal" memory. Then if you need a large external screen with photo caller ID, V8 is better than U9.

  • Personally I don't think a black U9 is girlish, as I used one and now is in the hands of my friend (as I can't live with his "capture all the background noise" phone...of course with U9's Crystal Talk, now I can hear everything he says no matter what the background is) My friend is a guy...and yes, my wife is using K3!

  • which one is more worth to buy? v8 or u9?

  • yeah u can see who's calling, but the display pic assigned to that caller wont show on the touch screen

  • this phone pretty cool and all, but it freezes sometimes, and the volume automatically decreses on its own. i had to reset my fone everytime. oh and the fact that the headset and the charger uses the same port sucks.

  • can you see who is calling from the external display screen?

  • Hello everyone, I want to buy this phone now that its price has fallen enough, mainly as a gadget and a second phone, I already have another device I am very satisfied with. So my question is: should I buy this as a gadget, is it any worth its money at all and secondly I'm a guy do you think this phone is too girly in black?

  • The flame is a screensaver, which should go off automatically in a few minutes.

  • I played around with this beauty in the store and couldnt manage to turn off the external display animation (flames)- I tried for half an hour... maybe Im too stupid or its too hard without manual.. so can someone tell me pls how to turn off the animations? thx in advance

  • It almost blew me, since its sorta low in price for its external finish but having seen the PLASTIC keypads which looked way cheap. Thumbs down for that.

  • What i know is Motorola U9 using OS MotoMagX. Motorola U9 has color black, purple, red, pink, gold

  • Motorola U9 Gold Limited Edition release in China with price around USD 400 ( i33.tinypic.com/2u6pis7.jpg )

  • very ugly look

  • I can't understand Moto's strategies either... In HK where I live, all phones costing over US$100 come with cable and (wired) handsfree. I've so many cables and headsets and after I saw how much they're being sold (separately) in US, I wish I can resell my extra units...even at half of the retail price in US!

  • i like this phone, but i hate that the package doesn't contain USB data cable, and fot this i won't buy it :(

  • What processor installed in U9,do this telephone fast?Is this only women phone?

  • it is based on linux

  • I have this phone and it's the best!!

  • Is this phone okay? Any problems?

  • can someone clarify if u9 runs on linux? coz i've read @ smape that it's linux-based. latest phones from moto (u9,e8,v8,z6) are linux based...?

  • hi there.choose pebl u9 or the rokr e8 or the v8. thanks

  • Greaaat phone, only one thing i don't like... quite slow - not so bad.... I LOVE it

  • hi there.choose motorola razr v8 or the rokr e8 or the pebl u9, pebl u9 is too cute while v8 is got the main large screen and e8 have the unique mode shift tech.

  • To turn off the message tone, try Setting -> Ring Style -> ?? (whatever setting you have) Detail -> Message Alert

  • I dont think taht this is a good fone to get..

  • Even i had the same issue. The whole screen turned to orange color for no reason. Then i had to switch off and switch on.Later it worked properly. This happend thrice in 2 months time.Is it possible to just turn off the message tone? I could not find a way to do that.

  • I do have an S705, which my wife thinks being too bulky. (bought it so she could use it with her K3) Now I've the following Moto phones with radio: E2, E6, A1600, Zn5.

  • i want to bye this, kindlly say i will buy or not?

  • And Yes the OS is Linux based

  • U get a blue tooth device S705 i guess, which does act as an FM radio.

  • Depends on: Budget: Z6 should be slightly cheaper than U9 nowadays Need for "Smartphone": Z6 is Linux based while U9 is not. Need for memory: Z6 supports up to 2GB external memory while U9 supports up to 8GB (from my personal experience) Need for better voice quality: U9 with its flip design and Crystal Talk technology offers the best voice quality in the industry.

  • Hi, I want to buy this phone, but i read opinions and i think that i'm going to buy Z6 ROKR phone. Srry for my bad english. Say me if this phone is better or worse than Motorokr z6. Thxs.

  • Really depends on your needs: 1)If music is important to you, get E8 with radio and 8GB external memory. 2)If you don't need external memory, get V8. 3)Anything else, get U9, which isn't a bad phone to begin with. (lack of radio is my only complaint)

  • love this phone. features are great the look is awesome i can just go on about it and i miss the phone so much. superb phone i recommend anyone to buy it

  • Yes, U9 has vibrate function.

  • Why? Does it has a vibrator?

  • are you using a microsd card? cheap cards are the cause of most cell phone issues..

  • You have to set each profile's ringtone individually, otherwise the profile will use the "phone's" default ringtone. Regarding your other problems, sorry, sugget you take your phone back for service.

  • Even if I do change sound profiles (Silent, Vibrate, etc) shouldn't the ringer ID be unaffected? It does work fine but after a coupla weeks, it reverts to the set ringtone of a particular sound profile that is currently being used. Sigh. This is one of my only two problems with this phone. There were two occasions when the screen went totally red for like I don't know how long but I had to remove the battery to make it run again. Any of you encountered such?

  • am so much in love with this phone, sw it frm a frend today, an have seen it ku internet just now... Please tell me more about the phone want to buy it nw,nw... Purple

  • Which country are you located in? I bought this phone in late June and I have never encountered a single problem on this phone. I bought my U9 in Hong Kong.

  • I bought this phone in April and its absolutely rubbish! I took very good care of it and had it sent away twice and still no improvement. Its constantly freezing and it wont read my memory card. I have a friend that bought it too and she had the same problems. I love the look of it and other motorola phones are brilliant but this one is just such a letdown. DO NOT BUY IT!! Waste of money!

  • Sorry, I forgot the manual in U9 is slightly different from other (old) Moto phones. Anyway, yes, you have to go to every single profile and set the message ringtone there. Let me know if it works.

  • Already did that but it'll work only that at period. I keep changing profile settings from time to time. Does it have something to do with that?

  • Did you try Settings -> Ring Styles -> ? Detail -> Message Alert?

  • i wana ask u sumthing that whevever sum1 send me msg it dnt ring it jus say u have a txt msg from so and so why ? i wana put a ringtone and why dnt it wrk ?

  • For customized ringtone for each individual, you need to go to the phone book of each individual (being stored in the phone) and then set the ringtone from there.

  • Have this phone myself & it would have been PERFECT had it not have a sluggish system plus its tendency to freeze/hang on certain occasions. =( Can't figure out ringer ID though. It's already set up but only the set ringtone of a particular sound profile used is only being played when someone calls. Ringer ID doesn't seem to work. However, message alert ID works fine. What gives? Do I have to change the settings on "Themes"? A little help please.

  • Thank U..

  • Did you ever own the phone? How come I put an 8GB card full of music, and not just MP3, but WMA and other types of files, and I was able to play every single song? Or did your unit have some problem?

  • this pnone is rubbish! it may look good inside and out but it's very bad. the texting is rubbish in predictive and their is no mp3player. also it breaks easy! mine snaped in half. i advise you not to by it.

  • That's sad...not sure about now, though when I went to SGP several times between 2001~2004, from my own observation, over 80% of the people were using the almighty brand... Though U9 is still a very nice phone, especially for ladies, with light weight, Crytal Talk, up to 8GB external memory (from my own test). The only thing I miss on U9 is the radio.

  • it wun release in sg because in sg verii liitle ppl use moto phone how...

  • what must i buy to make the phone faster?

  • Wow! I have just gone onto this fone from using a Nokia fone, and cannot believe the difference. The applications in this fone seems more than in my Nokia. I really do not know which fone is the best. I originally had a Motorola V3i, and coming onto this fone I have found that they have improved it so much. The calender input is a bit fiddly, but is still like the Nokia. But I do like this fone.

  • This is my new cellphone and I love it. But sometimes it is quite slow.

  • does moto U9 have the application of auto answering??? please answer me?

  • So did you buy one before making your comments? If so, kindly elaborate ALL the points which disappointed you. So we all can learn a good lesson.

  • Does the phone have a reminder facility on the calendar, if so can you set it to play music rather than just a vibration or quick beep alert.

  • dont be fooled like me. its the worst phone ever. you wont get your moneys worth.

  • Imported Video has playback problems on the U9 and E8 (this if uncorrected by Motorola will replicate itself in future handsets). Mp4 Videos if not of the same resolution split the colour of the display like an old 3D Movie ie you can see red and green shadows. 3gp from other sources including phones do not always play. Frame rate problems and bit rate problems. The Album Art option on both phones is great full screen. Interface is cool too a much improvement from original motorolas. Predictive Texting is more T9 than itap now. Camera is so so but its not autofocus which it should have been. Xenon Flash and 3G would have been nice and Stereo Sound speakers too. Otherwise great mobiles. Can others also comment please on compatibility of video importing and free software to over come this problem.

  • it is a girls best friend. I love this phone no doubt about it, it's perfect for any girl at all.

  • the worse phone....................... have no words 2 explain...

  • omg!! i love this phone!! Release it in Singapore please!! sooo super nice....

  • Nice phone but it would be better if Motorola made one like this but 3G. I'd still buy this one though.

  • DTMF stands for Dual Tone Multi Frequency...being used for "touch tone" phones so they can be used with IVR (Interactive Voice Recognition) systems. What's IVR? If you ever call to most customer service, be that phone companies or airlines or whatever, chances are you'll get: "For ???, please press 1, for ???, please press 2".... Line 1 or 2 is designed for places where one SSIM card contains 2 numbers. Quite common in Europe and some places in Asia

  • If you value voice quality, so the other party can clearly hear what you say, get the U9 with Crystal Talk. If you want the other party to hear "all the background noise" instead of your words, get the....

  • it is coming with f.m enabled pendent in india .so no issue of f.m in india

  • No FM Radio! Has got all the features a mid-range phone should have...but FM Radio should have been included

  • its such a beautiful fone....bt texting kinda hurts my hands...bt its still so pretty...i swapped it wid my lgkf510 cos its so so much prettier....

  • That's because the lousy (yes, even for a super Moto fan who has NOT used any other brand's phone in the past 14 years) Z8, who was "supposed" to support 8GB, ends up supporting only 4GB. So I plug the 8GB card (already full of songs) into my U9, absolutely no problem.

  • Motorola always give extra feature. If in the website says only support 4 Gb Micro SD but the fact you can use 8 Gb Micro SD. If in the website says only suppor Micro SD Standard but the fact you can use Micro SD High Speed.

  • Motorola says it can only hold up to 4GB in memory cards. How come you got 8GB?

  • yes it has better interface than v3i and ofcourse some thing like nokia sereies 40 in 6300 and 5310 and even more fine

  • 67.99 on O2-UK black version in Tescos? Wow, I'm so getting this thing! I hope it has a new interface though! I HATE the interface on the Moto RAZR V3, V3i, W375, W377 etc.! Uh!

  • Hi I was wondering if anyone knows how to add more external animated screensavers to the phone other than the ones that came with it? Also do you know if you can display pictures one has taken externally like a screensaver?

  • At least over 1000 songs. Plus I'm using an 8GB card in my U9, which means over 2000 songs...if you've that much appetite!

  • I need to know how many songs it can hold. If it has 4GB how many songs is it?

  • flips like a normal phone.. used one

  • hello, i have a problem, my multimedia doesnt recognize the cell phone, but i had already download music w/ the same multimedia 11 and one day just becouse it stop recognizes my phone. some help or advises,it is kind of urgent to me, u know what i mean?

  • people, ive been reading the reviews, and theres one question i havent had the answer to, yet: does it open the same way as the original pebl? like slide it down and it flips up by itself? or do you have to use your nails, like with ordinary flip phones? thanks alot

  • loveeeee *.*

  • cum on, i believe you are kidding right????, they come w/ alarm and calculator since 1995... ah and thanks to anonynous 4 the answer. i got it black

  • Hi Guys ,wanted to know ifthe phone has an alarm and a calculator.

  • You're right, it's awfully difficult to read who's ringing and text messages etc. Now need my galsses more than ever. Also have probs opening mine unless I use two hands. Can't even send picture messages cos I don't know how , yet!

  • I kinda like my purple u9 but can't open it easily without two hands. ALSO, could someone please tell me how I can send and retrieve picture messages? That was one of the reasons I bought it for but still can't get it to work. Would appreciate any help. Thank you...

  • Hi guys :) When you text, does it take a while for the buttons you already pressed to appear on the screen? Please reaply ASAP! Thank you :)

  • i want this fone so badd man i wish

  • Even my Genius/PenseBem/PSP comes with it! All phones get it!

  • In Hong Kong it costs around USD$250...no contract and unlocked.

  • Memory card is beneath the battery

  • weres the memory card slot ?????????????? );

  • Unless you're a phone technician, otherwise the only way to change the color housing of the phone is to take it to a phone shop. Black version isn't exactly easy to find...including pics on the net!

  • i was wondering. if you buy one of this babys in black , can you change the color later?, when how and where? answers please.

  • can sum tell me how to function the voice command???

  • its unbeliveably loud....and wen the speaker is covered or wen the fones facing upwards...its a lil soft....but this fone is mainly known 4 its music!! =) get it!! i love itttttt!!

  • all u chick flicks....tomboys.....or just wierd sensed people!! buy this fonee!! =) its awesummm!!! and its pink!!! =) and its seriously good...like....yea...and its a flip fonee =) get it get it get it!! =D

  • how is the music quality through ludspeakers

  • Definitely yes on alarm and calculator (not sure which "new" phones in 2008 don't have such features). Converter, did you mean currency converter? Maybe depends on market, though the one I have in HK does "not" have one.

  • Does this phone come with a calculator, an alarm, a converter? What other features does it have that it does not mention in the specs? :)

  • Does this phone come with a calculator, an alarm, a converter? What other features does it have that it does not mention in the specs? :)

  • Just curious, have you seen the black one? I'm using the black one (while wife is using E8!), and I think the black version is "ok" and not exactly as girlish as you think. I'm keeping this phone as it actually supports 8GB card! Too bad it doesn't have any radio.

  • lovely device---compact and useful....one of the best buys i had in recent days

  • Hi, Its a cool and chic phone. its phone for the teens and its a girly phone. I got it as a gift so I hae no choice as it looks too kiddo look. In my opinion its the perfect phone for teens. Cheers!!!!

  • Thanks for your opinion ...

  • Hmm...the outer screen gets a lot of scratches...so need to take good care..it's resale value is a big question unless u plan to gift someone.....rest it's a good buy...

  • oh really today i will purchase it

  • hi this phone is really good handset (handy) and easy to use but the the outer screen is small and it costs 10460

  • Except 2GB is the "maximum" memory for V8...which doesn't support "external" memory card, if that matters to the user. I plugged in an 8GB card into my U9 and it works better than my Z8...which "claimed" it supports 8GB but in reality... "Someday" I'll transfer this phone to my mom (who is using W510 & V3maxx) as I'm sure she would appreciate the relatively light weight and easy to open flip...compare to U6.

  • V8-better displays+sensitive external,slimmer,more stylish....

  • Could anybody help me ? what is the best : Motorola U9 or Motorola V8 ?

  • no,just a lot of fingerprints:)

  • does this phone get loads of scratches?

  • No off. guys but no phone can EVER replace the original Pebl - this phone takes the uniqueness away from the pebl and gives it a cheesy look. Just my opinion though.

  • I haven't read anything about this phone but by just looking at it.. it's wonderful and I WANT IT!! omg! i would order it onlinee but i live in the Bahamas and im not sure it would work down here so..??!!:(:(. i really want this phone..I have a pink pebl now and i want to get rid of it!. it's out of date and i want a phone with alot of space.. with a mp3 player. but this!. i love it!..

  • Does this phone have voice recognition? My current Dolce Gabana Motorolla does not which is very annoying driving with an ear piece.

  • i want to know, does this phone use Linux or not?? Can anyone tell me??

  • Crystal Talk is one of the best technology around for the best voice quality which other manufacturers can only dream of at the moment. Most users, including my wife (who is using an E8) of Crytal Talk comment about the clarity is as good as fixed lines. Keypad response should be ok, as I just tried on my U9 right now. Only concern you might have is the keypad maybe a bit small for some, which may get sometime to get used to. Most Moto phones can hold at least around 500 messages.

  • the phone loock good outside only & why is evry one talking about the looks what about the featuers?

  • Hi I have a Motorolla KRZR 1 and I currently have 270 messages in my inbox and 200 in my outbox so its not true that motorollas have a problem of storing only 30 mesjs in the inbox , its probably a seeting on ur phone or maybe u just need to upgrade ur simcard

  • sound quality is ultimate

  • sexy phone for my sexy indian girl friend if u have sexy girl friend then gift it to her

  • Strange -I thought mobiles are made for phoning and text messaging ! I read dozens of comments about this one and I still know nothing of how it performs when you accually talk on it or write text messages -but I found out everything about its colors! What's worth anybody's opinion on its looks when everybody can see it on the picture and develop their own opinion?? Can somebody tell me ,please; does the CrystalTalk really makes the voice sound better? How many messages can be saved in inbox How it performs while typing? (in my old motorola it takes much time before me pressing the button and the letter appearing on the screen which is very irritating )

  • I allready had lots of motorolas and all of them had 100 messages inbox, probably your old motorola had the inbox redirected for the sim card memory and not for the phone memory

  • very..nise????

  • can somebody please tell me how is the volume through loudspeakers, is it loud?

  • Good Mobile. Music is Excellent. Nice camera, lots of goodies with Mobile. 2 days battry backup. And most Imp thing it's very stylish.

  • Dear All....Plz any one who can help....does U9 also has the same problem as with other moto fones...saving mesjs in inbox...I beleive only 30 mesjs can be saved? Is this true?Plz reply soon...Thanks.

  • dear all....plz any one who can help....does u9 also has the same problem as with other moto fones...saving mesjs in inbox...i beleive only 30 mesjs can be saved?is this trur?plz reply soon...thanks

  • i tested this phone before i buy it ... it has all that i want ..... has good sound...well camera...its no 2 good..but who cares...battery life its ok.no problems with it...i dun no what your problem is???...btw i dun care wat a cellphone looks like, i allways find and read reviews,if reviews don full my expectations,i go to stores and test them...

  • Plz dont get fooled by the looks... This phone is nothing more than a beautiful useless piece of hardware. Probably keep it in a showcase. The bluetooth headset given with the phone is a big let down. You cant talk in outdoors using it. Its only for indoors. The music s/w is also a big let down, not even close to nokia.. and miles behind sony. An annoying Voice Recognition s/w initiates automatically which never recognises wht u say. The floating screen savers eat up a lot of battery, so practically u have to disable it to save power. And moto doesnt have an answer to if their crystal talk technology actually works. Why dont people test these phones before selling them.

  • this phone is very nice!!

  • Is it compatible with 8gb SDHC cards?

  • no offense, but if you're such a klutz you should get a phone like the Samsung M110. mobile phones aren't built to be dropped frequently. i've had like 20-something phones (4 Moto) and not even one got broken, even if all fell a couple of times. maybe you should be more careful. this is a nice mobile and i've already dropped it. nothing happened, perfect shape.

  • This fone is really cute, but I have to admit, im not buying it. Yes, its adorable and the specs are pretty good... But I WILL NEVER BUY A MOTO FONE EVER AGAIN. I seriously hated the fact that my last 3 moto fones were so weak and easily broken. The worst was the flipfone Razr V3, its pink. I had it fixed 3 times and after a few days it broke again. Plus, I don't like the reason that it's exterior is easily broken. No offense to all of you, but if you were looking for a good functioning fone, look somewhere else.

  • After the most recent mergers, in the tiny little HK we still have 5 network service providers, with some additional sub-brands from each. Competition makes one of the weakest brand (without 3G) to offer about USD$40 off on most new phone. The only catch is: you need to open a new account, which can be as "short" as 1 month. Warranty is covered by the manufacturer...usually 1 year in most cases, including my U9. (Moto offers cross regions warranty on its phones, so a phone bought in HK also being covered with warranty in China, Taiwan, and Macau) Now the phone will go to my wife, and when Zn5 is released with price drops below USD$300, the U9 will go to my mom!

  • thank you very much for the other info...but does "no long time contract" mean there isnt a long warranty for its working?? :S

  • To Hesistant: 1)About the flip, my oldest flip phone from Motorola is V60i, which was released around 2001(?) and the flip still works perfect! Not sure about flip quality of other mfgrs, though from the company which invented flip phone, you can count, if not bet, on it. 2)The phone is being sold in HK at about US$250. I got one yesterday at US$186...with 1 mth of service (about US$5!). No long term contract! 3)Yes, you can use MP3 as ringtone, which is quite loud too!

  • im thinking about buying this phone, but i wanted to know if its flip is weak as in it wont break easily....secondly is it very expensive? thirdly can u play songs as ringtones?? please help..

  • You have got a mobile piece which has a defect, please ask the store person to replace the piece. By the way, I have a small problem in playing the video songs, can I know the compatible Bit Rate and Frame Ratess for this phone ? Thanks In Advance. Sunitha.

  • what batery model use the motorola u9?

  • can i down load themes in this plz reply me at [email protected]

  • i bought this fone here in india .. i went to buy nokia 5310 or sony w580i but when i saw the external screen saver of fone (guy was using this fone ) then i fall in love with this one buy this one highly recommended

  • yes

  • its coming with lot of accessories in india like f.m bluetooth pendent and this is nice phone by moto

  • please answer this as soon as possible!!! are there any applications on the phone or on the net that can enable me to view pdf & doc files on the u9. can i use 3rd party softwares like opera mobile without any problems

  • @2@XQ: If the java game sets the full screen flag (with the function setFullScreen(true) from the Canvas object) then it will be played full screen (240x320), no bar across the top and no soft keys. The U9 has an ARM11 processor running at 450MHz (I've already posted this information). It does not play .sis (Symbian program) files. @Y9$Z: I realise that technically grey is not a colour but a cross spectrum absorption of luminosity. However, I happen to like the graphite version of the phone. @jasmina: You will need the following program installed on Windows (RSDLite 4.2): Then you will need to check that you have the right bootloader (version 6.28). In order to check what version you have, hold down star and hash while the phone is off and press power. If not up to date download and unpack this file and flash it to the phone using RSDLite: Then you need to update the main software of the phone, this file is large (80Mb): The last file doesn't have an extension. You need to call it .rar, unpack it and flash it with RSDLite. RSDLite is very simple to use, simply plug the phone in, select it from the list (it should be the only one there), find the file you want to patch a press the button. If you're computer crashes, or the cable unplugs during the transfer, you need to repeat it, but this time putting the phone in bootloader mode (I describe this above), before plugging it into the computer. I'm not sure of this, but I think updating you're firmware will void your warranty.

  • they did a good job putting only 2 gay ass colors PUT MORE COLORS

  • thanks for the information. but if you know the links and the internet sites that i can conect, to and get this new version of the softver please write. by that time i will get the usb cable. thanks again.

  • what processor does u9 use also can .sis files be run on the phone

  • can the u9 play jar files properly ie full-screen and not in the corner or enlarged? also can txt and pdf files be read on it?

  • @jasmina: I fixed this, but the solution is very involved. I used to have this problem until I updated the firmware. Your firmware must be R6632_G_81.11.29R (you can find this out by going to menu->settings->phone settings->properties->bp s/w version). You need to flash your phone (with a cable and software on a PC) with the latest fireware, which is (R6632_G_81.12.15R). This will fix the following (as far as I have seen): java games can be installed from the memory card and sms alert while having English menus. Flashing will erase all your contacts, messages and settings. There is another way, which is to change the menu language. menu->settings->phone settings->language, and select something other than English, assuming you know a second language. If you need help flashing, let me know and I'll hook you up with all the necessary links and instructions. All you need to have is a USB cable and a PC running windows XP (I don't know if Vista will work).

  • there is no tone allert for message.there is no option to turn off the talking phone.i can turn off only the talking phone options.if you know how to fix this please write. thanks

  • Battery life is very good, I'm a frequent user of calls, texting, mp3 playback and general playing around with it and it last for two days. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but trust me , I use it a LOT. I've also tried using it only for texting and short calls and it got me to three and a half days from one charge.

  • Turn talking phone off , it's different than turning talking commands off.

  • hy i just have bought this phone and i allready have problem with the SMS alert tone.i cant change the message allert only the talking phone voice allerts me for sms.i have turned all the talking phone commands but it still going on with this option.can someone tell me how to switch off this option

  • This mobile is looking so nice and i like every feature.but one thing if i played songs how to lock externelly the button is not working properly, when i swith off and on then the key is working. ?anybody knows how to resolve this.

  • this phone is nice........is great phone

  • CAN ANYONE SAY ME? how many days can i use it without charge?

  • it is really good and basic phone. has all the features u will need. s/w speed is fast. typical of the LJ platform. really impress with the oled ext display animated screensaver.

  • i thought that nokia beat other phones and the no. 1 phone company, but i was wrong cuz like motorola u9 and e8 it really has good features that nokia don't have and worth every cents unlike nokia.... i'm really happy that there is motorola, se, etc.. love it!!! =)

  • is it a slow phone

  • " Please help on this...what abt the External display when flip is opened, shouldnt it show MOTO Logo??" Nope, its made to be invisible :)

  • thx buddy!!

  • hi!...does this phone has stopwatch? or timer? thank you!

  • Dropped this phone on a concrete floor. Cool & amazing, notthing happened as I thought. Look still great and a good quality shining surface. Worth for money!!!

  • @MOTO LOV: No. The external display no longer shares a lighting source with the internal (as in previous Motorola phones). In fact the external display creates it's own lighting source (per pixel), it is an OLED display. It would be wasteful to display the logo on it, so it stays blank. There are a lot of energy saving nuances on this phone because the CPU eats the battery (high clock rate). Higher the clock rate, the more electrical power it consumes, and the more processing power is available. Everything's a trade :) !!TO EVERYONE::: Is the Motorola U9 for boys or girls or both? Click the link to take the poll and see results!

  • It's called U9, comes after U6... Similar?? Has to be!! Please help on this...what abt the External display when flip is opened, shouldnt it show MOTO Logo??

  • this is just the same as the u6 just with a memory card.could'nt the designers think out of the box and come with something new fresh and inovative i would not spend a dime on that.

  • Its very good looking....... and have a good features, first i did not beleive..But now i realised and feel it.

  • Thanx MOTO FAN... what abt the External display when flip is opened, shouldnt it show MOTO Logo?? Cause mine is pitch black... LOL!! Everything else phones great!!

  • @MOTO LOV: You can't. !!TO EVERYONE::: Is the Motorola U9 for boys or girls or both? Click the link to take the poll and see results!

  • I just got the phone and looks pretty cool, but how do you change external display pic?? Please help on this...

  • I've had a pink one for 2 weeks! It's a great phone but the only problem is that I am so careful with it and it's always in a case when its not used and it's still scratched all over on the front!! The inside screen is small to.... oh well though! I get compliments all the time!! BUY ONE!!

  • i m happy ... moto rokr u9 and e8 is arriving to india

  • @Anonymous: The U9 has an ARM11 processor running at 450MHz. This phone outperforms most handsets. Look for JBenchmark results to compare phone performance.

  • how can u say that its a bad phone i thing their is no reason for that

  • Changed to 4gb and its as fast as lightning! So easy transfering onto card whilst in the reader!!

  • Bad phone , and its so slow , the best thing in this phone is the style

  • T9 mode's available. it's iTap!

  • no need for phone tools just drag and drop onto card reader through windows media player..EASY PEEZY!!

  • hi i want to buy this phone because its different, stylist. but i want long battery life. how many days can i use without charge? i will only speak:)

  • i am waiting for moto u9 please come soon Inia

  • hi, I am looking into buying this phone but, wanted to know does it have T9 ?

  • New generation Motorola phones are extremely fast,.....once you turn on the phone; you can read or get data immediately without delay!

  • I brought this phone because its stylish, small, different, not for the camera as i already have a good one.

  • Can u tell me why you preffered this Phone?

  • I have put in a 2gb micro card and its quite fast!

  • hey guys :) for those of you who already have this phone, i would really appreciate your help. does this phone get slow after putting your music into it? is it hard to text with? and does it take a while to read? thank you!

  • in my opinion, this phone is absolutely beautiful and have functions that satisfies me. but its VERYYYYYYYY slow!

  • my camera has the same usb lead but these are SO cheap now you can easily get one for under a fiver!!

  • Got phone today, i've had 6 phones i the last year don't think this one will last long, it's very lightweight great, but very basic phone doesn't have smileys or any emotions for texts, doesn't have a stopclock or timer, doesn't come with usb cable, camera not great but only 2mp, not been able to put music on it yet as no usb cable. If you are looking for a basic music phone with not a lot of features then this one would be good.

  • Somehow Moto seems to be always ahead of its competitors...in terms of data cable connection! Remember when did Moto release its V3/E680 which first supported "mini-USB" charging? How many years did it take other brands to "copy" this (seems rather simple but quite convenient) feature? Though I'm surrprised to find many people on this forum don't seem to have the data cable to come with the phone. I'm in HK and I'd say all the mid-high end Moto phones (or should I say any phone with Bluetooth) all come with the data cable...and I've so many "mini-USB" ones right now. For "micro-USB", I'd admit I can't find it anywhere else yet. (and will take years for others to catchup?) To be honest, I don't quite like this idea, as I already have plenty of "mini-USB". Anyway, I've a Moto Q9h which is my only phone that needs "micro-USB", and one of my solution is: get one of the "new" Moto Bluetooth headset (my H375 cost me US$40 when I bought a K3 for my wife, and H710 for around US70), which comes with a "mini-USB -> micro USB" adapter. "Heard" the adapter itself from Moto would cost US$15, so why not pay a bit more for a Bluetooth headset?

  • @TC16: Although the dimension of the screen is lower than usual (the V3i and V8 have 2.2"). The resolution is high (240x320) so the details on the screen are not squashed or cramped. If the screen was larger, probably the phone would be more expensive. The V8 has a larger screen and is very similar in terms of functionality to the U9, but is more expensive (about 50% more).

  • The u9 got a 2inch main display it lo0ks tiny it needs a 2.2 to lo0k right but it is a co0l phone way to go moto i have heard storys moto is dieing i hope not

  • @Sk5I: Mine came with a Sudoku game. It does however, play all the java games, and also the games written for 240x320 displays (java games in full screen can fill the entire screen, there are no status bars in full screen mode). The Sudoku game isn't very good. After spitting blood for a while, I managed to install my own version. The U9 doesn't allow the installation of games directly off the memory card. They either have to be downloaded from the internet, or installed via a USB cable (that is expensive and impossible to find, unless the phone comes with one, which mine did not) and special software on the PC. However, the phone has a fast processor and can handle some very demanding tasks. The games can play very smoothly.

  • can someone plz tell mee wat games come with this motorola u9?? thnx x

  • Flames for screensaver ??? Excellent! Very fast menu and brilliant sound quality! Thank you MOTO!!!

  • I have the purple one, bought it last week and I love it!It's the coolest phone ever!

  • This phone is great... I got it for a week and I oni charged it 1 time, tt is on the very 1st day I recieved it... And the cool thing is, I listened to mp3 for more that 3hrs a day and I kept playing with the games... The in-phone games are cool... the speaker is loud... The external screen is cool... I can even reply sms without fliping open the phone... It's so small and sleek tt I can even place it in my coin pouch... Really no complains as a 2.5G phone... Luv it... The bad side of it will be, it do not accept wma files, no fm, no 3G, no wlan and the worst of all is that I got no GPRS support in my country. PS: U9 is NOT available in Singapore. I'm in Singapore...

  • this is the best phone ever!!! buy it now!!!

  • Thanks U9black, I found it here: I will be flashing it soon.

  • Firmware R6632_G_81.12.15R is pretty good: - Can disable the photo shutter sound. - Can disable all clicking sounds ( keys ). - Can get Ur owa//exchange emails (not pushed though) - Good battery usage Not a lot of bad things to say actually ..

  • @A2DP: Actually it can't. You're thinking of miniUSB. Do a search for microUSB and you will find only a handful of retailers selling it for a lot of money. @4LK2: I currently have a 512MB card in my U9 and on paper it says that it can support a 4GB card. It takes microSD cards just like the rest of the phones (except SonyEricsson phones) that have a card slot.

  • I was wondering how big of a memory card can the U9 support. To the people who are currently users of this phone, how big of a memory card do you currently have in your U9 and do you notice it slowing down the phone at all? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • MOTOFan:i think motorola u9 is better than sony ericsson w850...u9 is so cool:)purple looks amazing.but i have no choice.i need long battery life.and i want different colors i think motorola u9 is the best(not battery)

  • USB-Micro USB cable can be found anywhere. Many digital cameras and other modern portable devices use this system.

  • @thessa: Also a nice phone (on paper), personally I think it looks ugly. Also, look at K850i (better on paper than the W850i). Though battery life really depends on your usage. On paper the Sony Ericsson phones have only a slight longer battery life. However, if you prefer Motorola, you might want to look into the Motorola Z6, it has a longer battery life than the U9.

  • MOTOFan: thanks a lot.but i decide sony ericsson w850i. i think i can use it 5days without charge.

  • @thessa: Longer than the V3i. It really depends on your usage, but it will certainly last two days between charges. Longer if you don't talk a lot.

  • CAN ANYONE TELL ME? how about battery? how many days can i use without charge? i really want this phone:)

  • USB data cable (micro USB, not mini USB) could just be the hardest thing to come by. What possessed Motorola to put a micro USB on the phone I don't know, the technology has only been around for 1 year. Anyone know where I can get a cable?

  • I want the review! It's quite interesting phone

  • I got one. The screen and sound are amazing. The phone is small, light weight and feels great to use. However... There is no option of turning off the shutter sound (probably only available on the first firmware, I have R6632_G_81.11.29R). Also, it didn't come with a USB cable. Third, it can not install JAR files by itself. Apparently, Motorola OS phones need special software on the PC in order to install over a USB cable :(

  • Excellent, good music , nice to handle. Purple looks amazing, bought it last week, stylish with essential features

  • For all you people who slag Motorola of, dont bother looking at there phones if you think they are "Crap". Motorola rock :]

  • no radio is the only minus og this fone

  • To Motohaters, How much did U get paid for bashing Motorola? U guys have to face the reality that Moto is the innovator of mobile phone.Moto invented vibration and Ur brand have to pay Moto for having vibration in their phone.

  • Thanks dmatt! I'll get one soon :)

  • I just got this phone and it's absolutely fantastic. Feels great in your hand, the used materials are excellent, the screen is amazing, it's big, don't let the specifications fool you, the hinge is very fitting , the keypad is big and comfortable. A piece of art. Right now the software is a bit slow but that's fixable as soon as the updates arrive. Sound quality is SUPERB .. loud, great bass, sharp notes, clean, incredible. I've used the same bluetooth headphones on a Samsung (horrible) LG (decent) and this one, trust me , blows them away. The outer controls are a breeze, people WILL stare when you walk around with your phone controls showing . The UI is NEW and improved, trust me , I had a razr. Everything you want in a small package. p.s. You can turn the camera shutter off ;-)

  • come on Motorola we are waiting for your great phones with an amazing design to make the others jealous get up! :D

  • This phone lo0ks gr8 on the out side but when u open it. It you see a tiny screan and that horbel hinge witch is sad (the bigest put of by this moto u9) the out side is WOW but when u open it, it bad. basicly i am saying a new 1 should have a biger screan 2.4inch or biger

  • The U9 has the shutter sound -- I think all Moto phones do. It's also usually a pretty standard hack to remove it. It's a privacy issue so creeps can't sneak pics.

  • The shutter sound they add to some phones makes the whole experience of the phone terrible. I love the phone I have now, which does not have the horrible (and very lame) shutter sound. If the U9 has the sound (and it does not have the option to disable it) I will not buy the phone. I've asked repeatedly, but no one is answering. I'm beginning to suspect that no one here has actually bought one.

  • A lot of people talking about the phone... Can anyone tell me if the phone makes a noise when you take a picture?

  • U9 DOES have Bluetooth. In fact, it has stereo Bluetooth which is great for music.

  • @Laura: You bought the phone? Can you tell me if the camera makes a sound? Can the sound be disabled?

  • I bought this phone last week and i hated it the minute i started using it! Its so slow and just horrible!! No wonder its so cheap!! Gimme a Nokia any day!!!

  • soooooo pretty!!! i love this phone so much! im gonna look out for the pink or purple one. so gorgeous!!! btw no offense, but who always say bad things about motorola, you suck! dont brag about any other brand. they're not purrfect either. try to see from the good side! you cant make a good phone by yourself either! respect what these guys had made. its very pretty! =D good job moto.,

  • OMG this is like taking forever waiting this phone 2 come!!!!im sooooooooooo gonna buy this!!!!!!!! so cute ya kno! =D

  • I always judge a phone by it's ability to take pictures silently. If the maker has added a silly shutter sound to it, the phone is too lame for me. CAN ANYONE TELL ME: Does the U9 have a shutter sound (that can not be easily disabled) on the camera? I have a V3im and that takes pictures silently. I also know that the K1 takes pictures silently.

  • guys guys guys!!! plz spare moto 4 a while... dis one is different... i have got one of these cute thing 4 my girl friend... it does not have a hinge like the Pebl but still it is cool... the outer body does not get scratched easily... it is supposed to have some kind of a laminate!!! the UI is decent and the screensavers on the outer screen are just awesome!!!

  • Does anyone knows if it comes with the same opening of the Pebl U6? thks!

  • In reply to Pfdn : it only comes with a Sudoku game

  • i wish i have a lot of moto rokr u9

  • are you able to block(put a code) on the messages and pictures, like the motorola v3?? which games does it come with ?? thanks!

  • this phone is nothing compared to the SE phones

  • launch here in india becuz i want a sexy fone for my girl friend

  • which games does it come with ??

  • thanks , one last question , is the inside like the pebl ??

  • I love the sound quality on my S9 Bluetooth headset and My wife says it doesn't scratch in her purse.

  • how loud is its speakerpfone (for musics) ?? i want it! OMG!ITS JUST PERFECT! i just need to know how loud it is , and if it scratches easily.. thanks ! luv yah fergie !

  • price is 90 simfree at any cell shop in the UK. However color is only purple and pink. The phone is very sexy and flashy, got many compliments. However the thing is slooowwww. They need to work on a firmware update because the menus are much slower than my V9 and its supposed to be a fast processor.

  • i want it!!

  • 150 euros sim free!!! Its a really great price, I will get one in black as soon as possible, I really can't believe that I can get this one for this price, an equivalent walkman cost at least 100 euros more (and with no touch screen!)

  • Play.com are selling this phone in black for 180 which i think is a total rip of!!

  • At least the PEBL had a cool opening hinge. This looks like, and feels like, a kids toy

  • I have this phone it is good but why dont they make it in brown come on Motorola smell the coffee

  • Just had this phone on my up-grade. Be warned this phone is NOT user friendly. After having the sony walkman phones this phone is awful so much I have sent it back and gone back to sony walkmans. The phone look itself is lovely a proper girly phone. The screen savers are fantastic. The sound is ok but phone memory not so good you will need a memory card. But everyone to there own choice. If you like motorola this phone would be ok for you.

  • pink or purple? and what age group is it for?

  • I've just got this phone for my mother on o2. 69.99 with o2's trade in policy It's a nice phone very much a girls phone though - well it is purple! Quite small it fits in your hand nicely and feels good. The external screen shows signal stength, battery and the time. Inside the screen is the usual excellent Motorola. The keys are good too. Menus are different from the razr, still typically Moto though - not particularly simple, but once you get used to it I suppose they're ok. Problems - well none really, there aren't a particular large amount of ringtones installed (well on the o2 version at least) The phone doesn't come with a usb cable or memory card (cheapskates) but I suppose the phone is a midpriced payg. One very annoying 'feature' is the usb connector. Moto are now using the micro usb type which I believe most manufactures are adopting. This is a pain because my father has a v3 which uses the mini usb connector so they can't share chargers etc. Performance wise the phone does seem a bit laggy, ie you press a button, and it can respond or open the option a second or so later. This did take a bit of getting used to with my impatient manner! That is - you press a button once and then wait for something to happen... Conclusion. A good phone for the girls.

  • 500mhz processor......impressive....

  • omg. i have seen this fone on all the buses outside my school. i so want to get it! how much memory does it have?

  • lol someone commented on this phone that it looks like an egg... very dumb...thats why its called pebl because it resembles an image of a pebble. Not and EGG !

  • You know mot it is not advisable to trick your users in kcahanging functionalities but the same design they need a revolution , change design and you'll never know poeple will be surpired of your new designs. start hiring designers and take it from the Philippines specifically hire Mr. Archemedes Wabe for designing your interface and your phones physical features. It's time Hello Moto Your Greatest Fan...

  • Orange also are selling it in purple or pink for 79.99!!

  • Why o why cant motorola put a simple fm radio in their phones, when everyone does it, i have been waiting that atleast one of the better one will have FM but no, no wonder they are lagging behind with such simple exclusions people opt marginally for the other manufacturers...

  • This technology is inside Motorola Zine Series like Motorola Z12 and more Motorola Kodak Camera Phone; start produce from Q2,2008. Kodak Revolutionizes Image Capture with New High-Resolution CMOS Image Sensor Industrys First 1.4 Micron, 5 Megapixel, High-ISO CMOS Sensor Combines Two New KODAK Technologies for Better Pictures from a Smaller Sensor ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 4 -- Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) is enabling a new level of performance in consumer imaging devices by redesigning the basic building blocks used to collect light and is incorporating that technology into a brand-new sensor. The company has combined its recently announced Color Filter Pattern technology with a new CMOS pixel to create the KODAK KAC-05020 Image Sensor, the worlds first 1.4 micron, 5 megapixel device. Designed for mass-consumer camera applications such as mobile phones, Kodaks new sensor enables a new level of resolution in small optical formats, using significantly smaller pixels. But unlike other small-pixel sensors which can produce poor images, especially under low light conditions, the 1.4 micron pixel used in the KAC-05020 Image Sensor changes this convention, providing image quality that can equal or surpass what is available from current devices using larger, 1.75 micron pixel CMOS designs. Camera phones and other small-pixel consumer imaging devices often suffer from poor performance, especially under low light conditions. To manufacture sensors that utilize these very small pixels only two to three times the wavelength of visible light we needed to challenge everything we knew about pixel and sensor design, said Chris McNiffe, General Manager of Kodaks Image Sensor Solutions business. By completely rethinking the design of the CMOS pixel and leveraging our work with high sensitivity color filter patterns and algorithms, Kodak was able to develop this remarkable new sensor that will enable a level of imaging performance previously unavailable from CMOS devices. Key to the performance of this new sensor is the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, a re-engineering of the fundamental design and architecture of traditional CMOS pixels. In a standard CMOS pixel, signal is measured by detecting electrons that are generated when light interacts with the surface of the sensor. As more light strikes the sensor, more electrons are generated, resulting in a higher signal at each pixel. In the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, however, the underlying polarity of the silicon is reversed, so that the absence of electrons is used to detect a signal. This change enabled a series of improvements to the design and structure of the pixel that ultimately results in CMOS imaging performance that rivals that available from CCD image sensors. Light sensitivity in the new sensor is enhanced through the use of the recently announced KODAK TRUESENSE Color Filter Pattern, which adds panchromatic, or clear, pixels to the red, green and blue pixels already on the sensor. Since these pixels are sensitive to all wavelengths of visible light, they collect a significantly higher proportion of the light striking the sensor. This provides a 2x to 4x increase in sensitivity to light (from one to two photographic stops) compared to current sensor designs, improving performance in low light and reducing motion blur in action shots. At 5 million pixels, the KAC-05020 provides the highest resolution available in the popular optical format, and enables imagery up to ISO 3200 and support for full 720p video at 30 fps. The sensor is also supported by the Texas Instruments OMAPTM and OMAP-DM solutions, enabling a host of KODAK Image Processing and Enhancement Features (such as digital image stabilization, rapid auto-focus, red-eye reduction, and facial recognition) that provide digital camera-like performance in a camera phone. For consumers today, high resolution is required but no longer sufficient, said Fas Mosleh, Worldwide Director of CIS Marketing and Business Development for Kodaks Image Sensor Solutions business. Smaller and thinner camera phones, high performance under low light, and superior video performance are the types of features that will enable the next generation of consumer imaging devices. And with this new Kodak sensor, camera designers can now put those features directly into the hands of their customers. The new sensor expands Kodaks portfolio of CMOS and CCD image sensors for consumer and applied imaging applications, and positions the company to take advantage of the growing demand for high-quality image capture in a variety of devices, regardless of size. The KAC-05020 will be demonstrated by Kodak at the GSMA Mobile World Congress held Feb 11 14 in Barcelona, Spain. Samples of the KAC-05020 are scheduled to be available in Q2 2008.

Why not all type of your brand adore doesn't have 32 Gb external memory. Why no one brand have 32 Gb internal memory?

  • Sunday, January 20, 2008 What's on Motorola's agenda? On Jan. 1, Ed Zander officially stepped down as Motorola's (MOT) chief executive, with former Chief Operating Officer Greg Brown taking the reins. According to Gartner (IT), in the third quarter of 2007, Motorola's market share in the handset sector dropped 7.6 percentage points compared with the same period in 2006, relegating the vendor to the No. 3 position, behind Nokia (NOK) and Samsung. The tech giant is clearly wobbling and the changing of the guard raises the question: What role will design play in the company's new era? Will Brown call on Motorola's designers and engineers to try to match the success of the Razr, the iconic product launched during the Zander reign? Clues as to where Motorola may be headed in the next three to five years can be found in an internal document, the Motorola Technology Outlook (MTO), which is initially available only to senior managers in the corporate technology office and business units (it will be posted later on the company's corporate intranet for all 66,000 employees to examine). Compiled annually since 2004, the MTO features trend analysis from the company's Research Visionary Board, an external group of 47 design and technology experts based around the world, and a spectrum of staff members, who identify key trends and concepts in mobile devices, the Internet, and other areas. BusinessWeek received exclusive access to a detailed summary of this year's 20-page document, which has never before been released externally. A jumping-off point The MTO outlines six directions that the company may focus on while planning its new long-term projects. They're meant to be macro-ideas, rather than direct recommendations, and, indeed, this year's trends seem both obvious and abstract. They are: "the immersive Internet," meaning that consumers will be online constantly, including on their handsets; "hosted applications," or standardized software that's available on a Wi-Fi or cell-phone network rather than vendor-specific applications available only on one device; "video rerouted," or TV seen not only on TV but on other platforms; "virtually there," or posting the physical world online in real time via sensors, GPS, and RFID tags; "securing the bits," or making mobile phones safer against hackers and identity thieves; and "stimulating the spectrum," or the emergence of entirely new networks beyond the traditional cellular ones. While some of these seem painfully simple, the report's overseer, Joe Dvorak, technology futurist in Motorola's corporate strategy office, argues that the ways in which trends are applied in research and development within Motorola is complex. And the report does also provide scenarios for theoretical products or potential usages. For instance, the document proposes "snowflake devices"customized gadgets, such as smartphones or handheld computers, that display content specific to a consumer's taste and which feature speech and gesture recognition for a more human "feel." Or mobile handsets with fast-loading interfaces for quicker video downloads. While mere sketches of hypothetical handset applications, these proposals do seem to indicate the beginnings of Motorola's response to Apple's (AAPL) iPhone. Certainly they suggest Motorola is looking to enhance its user interfaces and software, two areas that critics have often pinpointed as needing radical improvement. Focusing on the user experience "It's not a surprise that Motorola is having the problems they're having now, because software and user experience are the real differentiators," says William Clark, an analyst with market researcher Gartner. Indeed, despite initial acclaim for the superslim design of the Razr, which became a must-have accessory soon after its debut in 2004, consumer complaints about the phone's usability soon bubbled to the surface. So did voluble criticism of the phone's user interface for texting and the audibility of calls. A prevailing conclusion? The Razr was a beautiful device housing mediocre software. Clark observes that Motorola's phone portfolio, while often sleek and even featuring unique features such as live TV, lacks a clearly defined "Motorola experience" in terms of brand identity. In addition, he says, by offering so many different styles for so many different market segments, Motorola's brand equity has become diluted to the point of being nearly generic. "The Razr 2, for example, has no soul," he says, adding, "Motorola has become the Acme of phones," a reference to the fictional maker of everything from anvils to birdseed. Motorola seems to be suffering a condition common to many of the old-school tech giants: how to couple their huge engineering or technological know-how with what a user really needs. "The tech part is easy [for Motorola]. The social and human parts are hard. That's the part Motorola has difficulty with, because it's an engineering company," says Don Norman, the author of numerous books on design and user experience (including The Design of Everyday Things) (BusinessWeek.com, 12/5/07), and a professor at Northwestern University, who has served on the Research Visionary Board since its inception five years ago. Clark, meanwhile, points to the company's recently released Crystal Talk technology, featuring two microphones that distinguish between the talker's voice and surrounding noise. It's bleeding-edge tech, and a potential selling point if only Motorola executives can work out how to market it to consumers effectively. And the company has added innovative design elements that might offer a more appealing user experience than even the iPhone: For example, the forthcoming Rokr E8 (an update of the disappointing Rokr MP3 phone that syncs with iTunes) features a flat, iPhone-esque touch screen along with software that offers a sensation of touch when using the digital keypad. And it has FM radio, which the iPhone lacks. Exchange of ideas Another Research Visionary Board member and former Motorola employee, Andy Seybold, who heads a Santa Barbara (Calif.)-based consulting firm, the Andrew Seybold Group, believes the MTO initiative might suggest the company is at last paying attention to its consumers' experiencesand also working on its internal communication. That's also been a big problem for Motorola, which observers say has led to competing mobile products and a lack of overall brand cohesion. "Motorola has always had a problem sharing thoughts and technology across groups," Seybold says. "It's full of fiefdoms, and in the past they didn't cross-pollinate technologies. But the [MTO] document is so full of so many different ideas, it can be seen as one way of cross-group pollination." Motorola's Dvorak emphasizes that the company is working toward synergizing its various departments. "We have a group that looks at consumer intelligence with the goal of analyzing consumer trends [vs. technology trends] in a similar time frame of three to five years, and we are now looking to collaborate more closely," he says. And although the consumer research group doesn't publish a report similar to MTO, an exchange of ideas is occurring, Dvorak concedes, "in an ad hoc way." In other words, the synergy isn't systemized, at least for now. Whether this year's MTO, which seems to address problems that analysts and Motorola insiders are quick to identify with Zander, will spark the design of must-have phones with a distinctive Motorola user experience is yet to be seen. New CEO Brown may decide to ditch the MTO strategy altogetherit's a relic from the previous era, after all. His challenge is to capitalize on the design and technology advances already in place while waiting.

  • Motorola CEO takes charge of troubled handset unit Mon Feb 4, 2008 12:14am EST NEW YORK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Motorola Inc (MOT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said its Chief Executive Greg Brown was taking direct control of the company's loss-making handset business, replacing Stu Reed, in a move aimed at helping speed up the unit's recovery. Motorola announced the decision to employees in an internal memo sent on Friday, a day after it announced that it was considering options including a split-off of its mobile unit, which has been losing market share to rivals such as Nokia (NOK1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research) and Samsung Electronics (005930.KS: Quote, Profile, Research). Reed, who took over as head of the mobile phone unit last Summer, will stay at Motorola and work closely with Brown, spokeswoman Jennifer Erickson said on Sunday. Motorola has been criticized for a weak phone line-up and failing to come up with a strong successor to its Razr phone. The company also faces pressure from activist investor Carl Icahn, who has said he would nominate four directors for Motorola's board this year. Icahn said in a television interview on Friday that he wanted new management for the mobile division. Greg Brown took over as CEO in January, replacing Ed Zander. Motorola on Jan. 23 warned it may lose more market share and post an operating loss this quarter as its cellphone business is taking longer than expected to turn around. It also backed off its forecast for its mobile devices division to return to profitability in 2008. Motorola forecast a first-quarter loss per share from continuing operations of 5-7 cents, before restructuring costs. Analysts had expected a profit of 9 cents per share, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Sinead Carew; Editing by Jan Dahinten) Reuters 2008 All rights reserved

  • come on MOTO ur a giant & no one can stop u.... wakeup MOTO wakeup... its not too late for u, ur d one & only leader in innovative tecno, so plz reconsider ur decision, never give up & we are there wid u

  • only a 6?!... desirves a 9 for design, ok i dont like the colours, but the outside desplay is spot on, touch sensitive, its loud, doesnt jump out of your hand like the u6, battery seems ok, upgradeable mem + 2mpx... and a nice menu. motorola have done something right here

  • One more good ol' American Company going down the tubes, or bought out by the Chinese. Motorola, SHAME ON YOU!!! You are a giant, keeping the mobile phone division alive financially, means nothing to you. On the other hand, maintaining integrity of the Motorola brand as we all know Motorola to be is extremely valuable. You can absolutely bounce back into the market. Here is your opening statement when one enters motorola.com "Were scientists. Were artists. Most of all, we are a global communications leader, powered by, and driving, seamless mobility. Motorola is revolutionizing broadband, embedded systems and wireless networks bringing cutting-edge technologies into your everyday life, with style" So why are you giving up? why allow another Company to use the prestigious name MOTOROLA. Paul Galvin the founder would be mighty upset at your decision. And for what? just to enhance the already FAT pockets of shareholders. MOOROLA, GET UP AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!! I'm sure consumers will remain loyal to you and new business will prevail if you maitain the integrity of the brand. Making a merger or aquisition move like the one you're thinking would be the beginning of the end of MOTOROLA!! For example, Daimler/Chrylser, Ford/Jaguar versus BMW. Although MEGA MERGER OFFERS have been suggested, BMW remains ahead of the game because of integrity of the brand. Don't make the mistake!! Readers and motorola users support this comment, we can all make a difference. RMB/NYC

  • no hard feeling, okay... the features are great, but just stop making phones that look like an egg.

  • The black one looks great but it definatley wont be top 10 for looks. It'll probably be a very popular phone since they got Fergie to advertise it... maybe in combat with Samsung and Beyonce advertising the F300. I like both of those phones but the celebs advertising them are, although popular, definately not my faves.

  • Nokia & Motorola Lead $100 Billion Cameraphone Market Boston, MA - 21 June 2007 -Strategy Analytics today released its latest camera phone market evaluation, "CMOS Beats CCD in Half-Billion Global Camera Phone Market," which concludes that the installed base of camera phones will exceed One Billion in 2007, as mature market replacement sales above one megapixel and emerging market first digital camera phone purchases (typically VGA) continue to drive sales. Neil Mawston, Associate Director and Chief Mobile Imaging Analyst, commented, "Camera phones have been a huge success, with unit sales rising from three million in 2001 to 500 million last year. As CCD continues to lose the sensor wars in the mobile space, Micron, Omnivision and other CMOS vendors have been the prime beneficiaries." David Kerr, Vice President of the Global Wireless Practice, added, "The camera phone market is now entering its third phase where the focus will move from Megapixel and basic image enablement to the quality of the imaging experience. In North America, and Western Europe, One Megapixel devices are now table stakes, while niche devices with five Megapixels or more will rise to over 2 percent of sales this year. Features such as zoom, flash and autofocus will become critical differentiators in 2008 and beyond." Other key findings: * Global camera phone handset revenues will grow to over $120 Billion by 2011 when one- third of the world population will own a camera phone. * Nokia, although not first to market in this class, is the clear market leader at 28 percent global share, while Motorola also shipped over 100 million units in the last 12 months. * Honorable mention must also go to SEMC, which has raised the user experience bar for camera phones with their Cybershot range, and has outperformed in this category as well as in the music domain. * VGA camera phones' share of the market will fall from 38 percent to under 7 percent over the forecast period. • Motorola MOTO U9 Preview Published on: 19 October, 2007 by PhoneArena Team Introduction: We are happy to have the chance to preview the Motorola MOTO U9, the new stylish clamshell of the brand that reminds the PEBL-series, instead of the more-popular RAZR ones. Still, it must be noted that Motorola will not position it in the PEBL-series, which probably will not get any new additions. Also, although it is music friendly clamshell, the U9 is not positioned in the ROKR series as it doesnt meet the requirements of the hard music-fan built in 3.5mm stereo jack (the sales package will include a converter). MOTO U9s front side is characterized by the rounded edges and the absolutely glossy surface, which acts as a mirror. Weve seen this in the preproduction units of the PEBL U6 (then called V6) back in 2004, but the commercially available model came with boring math surface. As the phone we are currently using is also a preproduction unit, we hope that the commercially available ones will have exactly the same design. Considering it is not final, the quality of both the hardware and the software might change when commercially available versions appear, and this is the reason why we, unlike other sites, will do a Preview instead of full Review and will not give any ratings. Once final units appear, we will update you with in-depth review with ratings. Design: Weighting 3.1 oz (88grams) the U9 is a pleasure in the pocket and for this also helps the small overall dimensions, although it is not RAZR-slim (16.4mm for MOTO U9 and 11.9mm for RAZR2 V8). In the hand it feels pleasantly thanks to the rubberized back and when closed on the front can be noticed the small lens of the 2-megapixel camera in the upper part and the Motorola logo in the lower. Between them is the external display which thanks to the OLED technology conceals when unused and doesnt destroy the glossy look. When the music player is active, there is a row of touch-sensitive buttons. There are a few keys on the side and all-in-one microUSB on the bottom, so youd have to open the phone for most of the things. Unlike the PEBL U6, the MOTO U9 doesnt feature the unique spring-assisted mechanism for opening and so this must be done with two hands, just like any standard clamshell. The weird thing is that sometimes when getting the phone out of the pocket, you may try to open it from the top instead of from the bottom, as it is absolutely the same in form because the phone is symmetrical. Here logically for a clamshell phone on the upper half is situated the display while on the other is the keyboard. Logically for a phone introduced in the third quarter of the 2007 it has 262k color QVGA display which has become the standard for phone-screen resolution. The keyboard of the MOTO U9 is made of one-piece flat surface, which has protruding relief lines between separate keys, so there is haptic feedback to differ one from the other. It is illuminated in white, but a sensor located in the upper left corner will turn this off when it is light around you. • i like the design of motorola phones and feature is also good

  • Motorola Haters can't give which single type of they own brand can beat "Motorola V3 Razr" seller (more 100 million units). Yesterday, 3 December 2007 (Monday). India Times reported accident "Nokia battery explode again". New Zealand, Norman Sievewrigth is charging Nokia handset and then he sleep. And then he heared explode; he wake up and look his Nokia handset burn in the carpet. Until now "Nokia" not respons.

  • Love the phone design, probably I'll get one, I have a u9 and I think this is a great design evolution over the u6. Everybody complains about motorola, I just don't understand why, with a little know how you can do great things with moto phones, I have a nokia N80 and a Sony ericsson p990 that use as smartphones and a k1 a v3i and a u6 that I use for fun, I just love moto design and with a little tweak they all look completly different from the default motorolas. I'm curious to use the new linux moto user interface, but probably it wont be as easy to tweak as the old ones

  • u can say anthing abt motorola . but really i love motorola phone its sexy like jennifer lopez and hot like james bond 007 go moto go come on and beat the all hello moto!!!!!!

  • motorola is now lagging behind LG, Samsung, SE in all aspects - design, features, performance......what a pity! helo moto..

  • Many "Motorola Forum" Member already angry to "Motorola Hatters". They already know in GSM Arena has other brand member forcing Motorola. "Motorola Fans" ready to forcing you "Motorola Hatters" if you not stop forcing Motorola.

  • Hahaha... The fact is Motorola V3 Razr sold more than 100 million units. So why other brand can't sold like "Motorola V3 Razr". I don't want see other brand because too old interface and too slow processor. Other brand can't compare the fastest processor for mobile phone (Motorola Rokr Z6 (624 Mhz)) and the faster processor for mobile phone (Motorola Razr 2 V8 and Motorola Razr 2 V9 (500 Mhz)). I don't think you know about "Motorola Rokr U9". So don't judge Motorola. I don't forcing your own brand fan's if they don't forcing Motorola. We are "Motorola Fan's" will forcing your own brand if they don't stop to forcing Motorola.

  • I've always liked the exterior design of Motorola phones, but personally I look at the user interface and menu design a lot when seleting a phone. RAZR, Pebble, KRZR, RIZR, W series are all good looking (even stunning) when they were/are released. However, whenever I get interested in a Motorola phone(including phones mentioned above) and look at the interface and menu, I always get disappointed with the crappy design. Look at SE, Samsung, or Nokia's menu design. Compare it with Motorola. RAZR disappointed me with its sluggish menu access and crappy designed icon with low resolutions. That was 3 years ago. I checked KRZR and W series whenever they came out. Same design, same lag, same crappy resolution. I don't know about RAZR2 and this phone, but those experiences just made me stay away from any Motorola phones. I look at a Moto phone, I think "Wow, it's a good looking phone." Then I enter the menu and I feel like I'm in the past like 5 years ago. Moto fans, please have a few minutes with SE, Samsung, or Nokia, and feel how smooth and colourful everything in their screens are.

  • Motorola Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among Wireless Mobile Phones in a Tie, in the Latest J.D. Power and Associates Report SCHAUMBURG, Ill. 25 June 2007 Motorola today announced that it attained the highest ranking in customer satisfaction for mobile devices, tying one manufacturer, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 U.S. Wireless Mobile Phone Evaluation StudySM Volume 1. This distinction reinforces Motorolas innovation in wireless and broadband communications by providing consumers with the most cutting-edge mobile devices in style, design, multimedia messaging, and everyday communications. The study looked at customer satisfaction among consumers based on five key factors: physical design, operation, features, handset durability and battery function. Motorola bested six mobile device manufacturers and tied another, scoring particularly well in the physical design, operation and feature categories. With its complete portfolio of mobile devices and accessories, Motorola provides consumers with the best all-around mobile experience possible by empowering consumers who demand stylish design and powerful features from their mobile devices. Motorola created the stylish feature phone category when it introduced the RAZR in 2004, which is close to hitting the mobile device milestone of 100 million units shipped. Motorolas next-generation devices, such as the much-anticipated RAZR, MOTO Z8, MOTO Q 9 and the ROKR Z6, are unmatched in the industry and are designed to maximize the powerful Motorola experience consumers have come to expect.

  • Because this is "Motorola Rokr" and that's mean "Motorola Music Phone". "Motorola Music Phone" is more great than "Sony Ericsson Walkman". Read this: Music handsets comparison which one to choose? w w w.mobile-review.com/review/music-phones-en.shtml The battle between: Motorola ROKR E2 Nokia 3250 Sony Ericsson W800i Sony Ericsson W810i Sony Ericsson W900i Sony Ericsson W300i And the winner is "Motorola Rokr E2". With only single type of Motorola Rokr (Motorola Rokr E2" can beat 4 types of Sony Ericsson Walkman.

  • Is that any "Sony Ericsson" single type can sold more than 100 million units like "Motorola V3 Razr" in 3 years? Or other brand can sold single type for more than 100 million units? What i know is only Nokia 1xxx (cheap phone) can beat "Motorola V3 Razr" sold. This part of Mobile Review to Review Sony Ericsson Z750i. =============================================== ...And the Z750i cant produce the same effect as the Motorola RAZR, so consumers wont be after it solely because of its design. • Moto rocks....who ever does not like moto i will request them to read about 6 sigma...no one can beat them in quality...

  • Well i had a motorola phone (razr) and it was horrible. But don't worry I'm filled with positive energy because I now that i own a SE.

  • Does anybody own this phone?no so i guess nobody should voice an opinion or write anything about this phone or any other phone until they own it duh.i agree that sony make to many candy bar phones and they are very much the same but how may varietys of razrs are there but i havent said i think all s/e phones are great and all motos arent.I have v3x as a back up phone and dont think thats so old do you?

  • ============================================= @simon Why would i be jealous of motorola?i have had moto phones before and although not perfect i have enjoyed them and the screen on the s/e z610i displays song details and animations ect ,this is a section for opinions so just because you dont worship this phone doesnt mean you shouldnt post your opinion. ============================================= Hahaha... Because only your old Motorola Phones and than you can judge New Motorola Phone / Un-release Motorola Phones? If you want judge; you must have this phone first, give fact you have this phone first and compared. Sony Ericsson Z610 is really similiar design with Sony Ericsson Z750. Come on, that's really poor featured "Sony Ericsson Phone" (only change 1 until 3 features than before series), really lazy change the design (only use old design); no big deal. This what "Sony Ericsson" copy from "Motorola". Flip concept phone Thin candybar concept phone Sony Ericsson Candybar design is bored; only change the buttons. Hahaha...

  • Why would i be jealous of motorola?i have had moto phones before and although not perfect i have enjoyed them and the screen on the s/e z610i displays song details and animations ect ,this is a section for opinions so just because you dont worship this phone doesnt mean you shouldnt post your opinion.

  • simon is "Sony Ericsson Fan's". At least "Motorola Rokr U9" much better features, much good qualities and much innovations than "Sony Ericsson Z610i". What you can do with external screen of "Sony Ericsson Z610i"? Nothing... Just "clock". Hahaha... With "Motorola Rokr U9" external screen you can control music player, choose ring style, animated external screen.

  • motorola never made failures, especially in design, so if you have anything bad to say about motorola don't write it, because the only think you are doing is filling YOURSELF with negative energy and pessimism. P.S. if you hate motorola that much, why waste time and browse their phones??? go to Nokia's or SE's forums (whatever attracts you the most) and write there good things.

  • ================================== @simon Another poorly featured motorola phone, screen idea pinched from sony z610i and a lazy udate of the pebble. ================================== Hahaha... One person jelousy to Motorola. How come you judging un-release mobile phone.

  • Another poorly featured motorola phone, screen idea pinched from sony z610i and a lazy udate of the pebble.

  • This phone is hot!

  • i think it,s a nice phone

  • plz f.m.radio for india ..u have to give

  • "Motorola Rokr Series" is mean for who loves music / music phone. Same as "Sony Ericsson W880i" is mean for who loves music / music phone; camera result is awful / really bad. "Sony Ericsson Walkman Series" can't win comparison with "Motorola Rokr Series". Read from this link => From Motorola Razr 2 V8, Motorola Rokr Z6, Motorola Rokr U9; "Motorola" using the newest OS "MotoMagX", the newest interface, and user friendly. Look this preview => ROKR U9. This clamshell looks like a glassy PEBL, but features a new UI, new music player, and some other goodies....motorola.

  • stop complaining about the old os...this uses the new os.. and pls dont complain about the new os if u havent even used it before...swt

  • This a great phone for lady..who has strong purchase power in Asia. Should call ULady instead U9.

  • the design is nice but really not that big a deal. looks like they simply took the sony ericsson Z750 idea, made it rounder and that's it.

  • I think its very nice design and Motorola heavy duty Mobil, easy to use smart Mobil I never think to change to any other brand

  • all models of motorola are similar to each other and the only difference is in their cameras moto pebl u6 u3 and u9 are similar to each other with short difference in performances

  • jeez....how long are they gonna go on with their similar designs..*yawn*

  • I think they do have a new User interface, based on Linux Java OS. It is much better, I must confess. And the most important is that the latest ones don't only have the design, they're also packed with great features. I'm a V8 (RAZR2) user and I love it.

  • I will not buy a Motorola untill they change the User interface. Its a shame because howevr good the phone is, I will not buy it. If this was a Samsung, I would buy it so badly, because it looks so nice. But its not. Buy the Sony Erricson W850i, it looks much better

  • cant Motorolla get a new design ?????????????????????????????????????????????

  • What's wrong with interface in Motorola? I think Motorola interface also user friendly. If only everyone wants to learn a new interface theres no problem. And also Motorola using different GUI here because it has a new OS called Motomagx based on Java-Linux. Many people says the GUI is confusing but actually they never have/buy Motorola phones. And about quality and innovation no others can beat it. I'm using Motorola since my first phone and have been using several type till now. I never exprience any problems.

  • plz f.m.radio for india

  • The U9 is trying to compete with the SE walkman phones. Very nice design, if i'm right, it's also a SE design. Z610i for example. The Z610i is not a walkman phone, but supports .mp3 and has walkman capabilities along with the invisible screen infront that is not as big as this one. Nice design, but I still don't appreciate the Motorola interface and quality.

  • its a beutiful mobile phone but i dont think its good for guys bye
