I have to say this phone is the same as the v600 with only a few extra features, I didn't have this phone for very long, but I often found that the battery ran out to quickly and the volume was far to quite even when on full volume, apart from that, it's a neat little phone.

The reason why the sound is low, could be that the internal software is the same as the model E398. This phone has some low sound. The first version V600 did not have that problem. The sound was very good and high too.

Yes, motorola phones are very reliable. I bougt a V600 in 2003 and had it until 2007 where I sold it. A half a year later, I bougt it again but used with any damageds at all. But it was not in silver, but black, and the softvare was not the same. It was instead the same as in E398, so I think it not was a V600. It was instead a V600i or V620. Those two are the same. But I still have it and it works great. You should have tryied to put the pictures on a pc and look at on this. The are not so bad as you may think.

If the battery was new, it's ok it goes faster from one dot to 0. When it's a lot older, the low battery keeps very long and that's because can't get full charged due higher and higher internal resistans as the number of charges gets more and more.

6 years i used this phone until I upgraded to apple iphone .. and it still works!! AMAZING!! Gave it to my mom who took it to india and now uses it as her primary phone. Motorola is truly RELIABLE

I've had this phone for nearly 5 years (pretty good considering I'm only 19 and normally get through new technology quickly). The internet and bluetooth has never worked amazingly well but I suppose the technology was a lot more primitive back then compared to all the 3G stuff out now. Other than that it's lasted really well, fine for calls/texts/alarm etc. Photos aren't very clear - the 0.3 megapixels was probably impressive once but not by today's standards. Good battery life - I only charge it every few days. Kind of want it to hurry up and break so I have an excuse to buy a new phone!!

this is one of the most reliable phones you will ever come across i had one for 5 years... best phone ive ever had... i dropped it off a 30ft drop onto concrete & it still worked fine... with one minor scratch... i dropped it in my fish bowl full of water... took it out, still worked perfectly... =] best phone ever.. but then i lost it =]

I've been using this phone for the last 4 years. The battery still lasts me a week and I've had some very good photos from it. The Blue tooth still works well. The place where you charge the battery corroded some time ago, so I use an external battery charger now. I love its solid metal case and all its features. Only now is it slow to respond when I open it, which means I'll now finally need to get a new phone. I do hope I can find one that looks and feels as good as this one (so far I've had little luck)

i've been using this phone for 2 1/2 years extensively. first problems occured after personalizing the gui with another theme and my own images. the software became very slow and it crashed frequently with a white screen and a a subsequent reboot without any particular reason. after about one year the charger unit stopped working because the little contacts were bent or something. anyway, i bought a third party charger and it worked quite well again. something like one year ago heavy problems came up with the state sensor for opening and closing the cover. at first it was possible to deal with it by turning off the automatic automatic answering / hanging up option in the menu and just using the buttons. but after another few months this stopped working as well and the phone just didn't realize when it was opened, so the display didin't light up and thus it became unusable. so i gave up and switched to a sony ericsonn. however, last week i again came across it when i was looking for some old stuff in the attic. i completlely dismantled it and cleaned every little part of it thoroughly, because the was a very big amount of dust in it. after that i reassembled it and resetted the software. since then it works very very nice, just like new and i started to use it again. i like this model because of it's metal body and it's retro feel. the problem is that it's very susceptible to dust and it stops working due to this after a while. nevertheless, if you a just a little bit interested in keeping it going, you can open it and clean it up yourself and everything will be fine again :)

I've had this phone for 2 1/2 years now and after a few months the sensors stopped working so that when i close it I have to press it for the screen to work. Now, when i open the phone to answer a call it cuts the person off. And i have also had problems when plugging it in to charge it says unable to charge frequently. I have also found that it is almost impossible to find people using bluetooth and the picture quality isnt all that either. I also found that although my phone still has a decent battery life it goes from 2 bars to 0 very quickly. However, i like the weight of this phone and its metal case makes it really durable. If you're a person who likes good gadgets on their phone i wouldn't recommend this though.

omg Where do i start with this phone....after 2 yrs., i'm now having trouble receiving calls or making them because sometimes when I get around to doing so , it shuts off. The battery life is also a major problem. it is a good phone however it's durability is questionable.

Been using this unit for 2 years now. It is a very good motorola unit. I had problems like the others such as the auto turn-off, charging slot, hangs at times. I experience them NOT often. And all are minor problems, in my experience. Aside from that I have NO PROBLEMS receiving/making calls. Speakers are loud. The battery life is decent. I'm thinking of buying a new flip-phone. But I'll keep this one as my reserve phone. I rate it 4/5.

I bought the V620 a few months ago, and I've had some majorly annoying battery issues. When plugged into the charger, the phone may or may not charge. You sometimes have to jiggle around with the connector and pray that it charges. The battery life is also extremely poor. The phone discharges within a day after little or no usage. The phone lights up when on charge sometimes. Other times, it decides not to light up but still charge. On a bad day, i'll leave it plugged in for the entire night and then I unplug it, it dies within minutes. The connector/battery/software is all screwy. The styling is great, but what good is that when it doesnt work.

BeachjamJM ther is no problem with sound during calls with v620! this was a problem in v600! If you had this problem just change your firmware with newer, it's easy! For the batt indicator you are right, when it goes to 2/3 it goes to 1/3 and 0 much faster than from 3/3 to 2/3.. neverthless it's not so big problem. The phone works full 3 days with a lot of calls and msgs, I think one of the best Moto flips according to the batt tenacity!

I bought 2 of these phones a year ago and think they are pretty cool. However they sure seem to have a problem with the charger unit / slot. Also, since recently 1 unit has gone very quiet -- you can hardly hear the person at the other end without turning on speaker. Neva had these problems with the nokias except their screens go bad too soon.

I just bought this phone and think it is pretty poor. I can't hear anyone on it unless I use the speaker phone. The camera takes lousy pix, not that I care too much. The features stop working randomly. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. maggie

I 've got it and honestly it's the best phone i've had. Yes it is justt a little bit on the soft side with the ringing and it deosn't have a lage internal memory but other than that the only big problem is the controls liitlle akward at first but once you get use to it it's a really good phone

I have been using this phone for about 2 years now.The problems I've experienced with it were: low lovel of my voice at the other end of the conversation, when I try to phone someone sometimes I don't hear very well the phone ringing(it depends on the network that I am caling to), after 2 years I have to pres hardly on overy butons to have a respons, whene someone is caling me it takes to much time to react after I pres the yes buton, whene using bluetoth it works very slowly sometimes it freezes, in writing sms sometimes is slow, when filming it takes a lot of time to proces the movie.The goog side of him are the long batery life, the fact that the case is made of metal(i dropt it on the asfalt and the metal case dosn't have a scrach but the plastic side have some), loud speacker.The fact that it freezes is maybe I've instaled on it 7 java games, I have a lot of mp3 (short ones), and the memory is almoust full.I've learn that if you want to double up the space you have to make a folder in Music and then delete it, you will have 5MB free memory and in some cases 4GB but that's not true(a software bug).This thing helps if you want to take some extra memory to shot some photoes or to record a muvie.Per total it is not a very good phone even though it has a 256K colour display it doesn't semes to make the diference to a motorola V3 witch is beter.

Yes this phone looks lovely but like other people I too have problems -Firstly the screen would suddenly go white & the phone would switch off; & after a few months, yes you need to hit the #5 key with a hammer to get it to register; Worst of all, I now cannot receive incoming or make outgoing calls. My service provider says it is a problem with the phone -not the service.

I have had this phone for 2years and it has never broken, even though i have dropped it so many times! The bluetooth is not very good because it can't find some other handsets and I can't recieve or send pictures of tunes. The pictures are not vey good quality either which is annoying. It's a good phone if you just want one that is reliable and works, but if you are into gadgets on phones, like me this is not the greatest phone for you.

Excellent phone! I've had this phone about a year and I'm very pleased. If you want to be critical... Camera is only VGA and there is no memorycard slot.

I used to have this phone for 7 months. The first thing that stuffed ou was the number 5 button, you nearly had to hit it with a hammer before it would register, then after a couple of weeks that thing kept freezing. In the 6th month of havig this phone, it decided to erase numbers and other details whenever it felt like it, I've lost valuable numbers due to this, then it kept resetting itself. I finally decided I had enough, went back to nokia and you cannot belive how good I felt after I launched the Motorola into the ocean off the South Coast of South Africa. Thank you to Motorola for wasting my time and money!!

I agree that this phone has several problems, but except the design i like very much how the buttons are arranged! I think it is very convenient red button to be on the left and green to the right side!SO please, tell me if there is another, new telephone with such arrangement of the buttons!

I had my phone for 8 months now and never had any problems with it. the only flaw i have with it is its 5mb memory that is too low. I enjoy the feeling of cold steel in my hands and the matblack and chrome colours. To me it is an ificiant phone and it draws lots of attention. Thank you Motorola for this great phone

I have had this phone for a year or so.. It is a really bad phone! I have had problems with it not charging and the aliminum front plate always falls off and it is very slow when txting. If you are a quick txter this phone isn't for you. I could type a msg and get ahead of the phone. The bluetooth doesn't work all the time and I have had problems picking up other bluetooth devices. I don't recommend this phone! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!

I received this phone as a gift from someone and would love to use. I use Cingular and when ever i place the sim card in the phone i am unable to make calls or receive them. I've read reviews about the phone that it works with cingular, but can't seem to figure out why the phone i Have does not. Well i might get a new phone soon (motorola e1070). i hear it is really good and the price isn't bad either. its just so annoying having to move my videos and pics to my computer so i can have enough memory to take another video...and then that takes ages to save! plus i really want better bluetooth transfer rate. its sooooooo slow!

at first i really loved this phone but i would say after the first year I began to have problems, coincidentally the guarantee had run out so there wasn't really anything i could do and things just got worse. It kept crashing, like a slow computer and then eventually if someone rang me they could hear me but i couldn't hear them, it was like this with every phonecall which obviously meant my phone was faulty. Yes this phone is nice to look at but taking into account all the trouble i had with it and the amount of money i paid, i'd say it definately wasn't worth it.

The worst phove I ever had. I have the same problems as above plus the the hearing performance is not always ok. I must put it on speaker to hear. The only plus is the appearance. But this is not enough to propose it.

My only positive comment about this phone is how it looks. I love how it looks, but that fades into oblivion when it has so many problems. I seem to have had the common problems shared by the majority of those who have posted their opinion on this site. Menus are needlessly fiddly. Memory way too small, blue tooth doesn't work at all, screen goes white and phone freezes regularly, some of the keys don't work easily but have to be firmly pushed several times which makes messaging infuriating. The predictive text version used by Motorola is sub-standard. The programmable buttons on the side are useless as they push again things when phone is in bag or pocket and settings change. I have had it back 3 times for fixing and have eventually complained to my phone company and they have cancelled my contract and I am starting another contract with a Nokia. I have always had Nokia and never had problems. I won't change from this brand again!!!!

I have the same prob, this phone is just a handful of problems. It had 2 be replaced the day after i got it and the new one has been sent away several times for repair. i would NOT advise buying this phone and have sent all my friends in the oposite direction. i personaly am returning to nokia as i never had a problem with and nokia phone i have ever purchased.

hey, i just want to know if anyone found a glitch that gives you at about double the memory? to try it make a category in the music section then delete that category. This will make the "memory used" to 0kb. Then go over the "max intenal memory" and then turn off the phone. Look at the memory again and it will say you have at least 4GB of free space!! i have only managed to put about 7-8MB on before the phone complained at me and switched itself off....

i think the mtorola v620 is great, ive had it for over a year now with no problems , i love the way it lights up on the front when you get a call and it is very sturdy and feels nice. the picture quality is excellent and i havent seen better on any other makes, its a shame the phone is discontinued

I have this phone and is very good, i dont have any problams with the camera, bluetooth, etc. The aluminium is very nice and hard. The only thing i don't agree is with the memory, only 5Mb but now I have 6Mb because I eliminate some things with the PC.. At least is poor for a full mp3 music, but after all is good.. i recomend you

For example, while the mobile is charging the lights on the outside lid, a white light blinks and the same thing when the Bluetooth is powered on a blue light blinks... Can I do the same thing that will be automatically blink as long as there is a reception (Green Light for example)?

Its a flop phone. It has got major software issues. It restarts auomatically and doesnt have basic functions like seaching a number from phone book. Also,this phone causes one sided no audios.

I can compare this phone to the Ericsson R520m and a couple of the pre-camera Nokias. The phone is used mostly for business - phone calls, appointments and alarm clock with occasional text messages. It does all these well. As far as convenience/usability: The battery life is too short and when I run my Bluetooth I barely get 1 days use without recharging. It's been in for repair twice, once for lost calls/poor reception and once for the white screen/phone lock-up problem I saw in this thread. I'm looking for an Ericsson now.

i think the motorola v620 is a very good phone but i think the memory isnt so goot e.g saving txts messages it wont let me save hardly any and when i take pictures i have to leave my phone there for ages otherwise my picture comes out blurry! but overall i love it!!!

I have had the V620 for over a year now and think it is a masterpiece of design. OK it's a bit like a beautiful woman - slightly moody,hates being hurried but feel that sculptural shape, that reassuring weight (pure quality) and all is forgiven. I have Had The V620 for 7 months.So Far it is nice but i have trouble with charging and memmory.If an electronic engiear can create a device that supplies more memmory that plugs into the data pins at the bottom of the fone for a affordable price, Ill buy it!!!!

I think its a great phone, but Motorola isn't taking care of quality, because I had it for 10 days a then it turned off and I could never be able to turn it on, I'm very dissapointed. It has happened to many people I know with Motorola phones.

i had this phone over 1 year ago, and in the beggining is fine, but the memory is pathetic! because i only have 1 mp3 song, so if they make it this phone with mp3 player, why dont put a lot of memory???, like 100MB! you know ha ha ha, well i think i will replace it for the V3 series! i like the pink one!

I have had this phone 4 about 6 months and in that time they have replased it with a new one once and now they just want to fix it. its like the rest of them frezzes turns on and of and the screen is blured on half and has a mirror image i wish i never bought it and i will never buy a motorola again never ever ever again.

Looks great, and the bigger buttons make txting easy. Camera is ok, would be nice if it had a flash. Reliability is a bit dodgy, have to kep re-setting mine, it keeps freezing up and switching off. Memory is pathetic, can't take more than 1 mp3, and bluetooth occasionally decides not to work... It still looks great.

Can't understand the problem everyone reports with this phone...I think its great!! Beautiful colour screen and easy to use. I have downloaded loads of wallpapers, mp3s, and some videos and have had no problems. Yes the memory ain't great but I find it adequate....try clearing out the stuff you don't use! To get the most from this phone I recommend buying Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools, it's brilliant for making your own wallpapers and ringtones.

Lara der is no way of puttin voice records as ringtones, iv tried a lot. You could try sending songs from the comp via bluetooth if it has the right software but if the song is too large it wont have enough space neway.

I've had this mob ages now and its been good. THe camera is gr8 but comparing it to the Samsung E720 it isnt, my previous mob mot. V220 had a rubbish cam and display, the display on this is much better and makes the camera brighter as well. The only bad things are that it is pretty bulky so if you are loking for a small mob id advise you not to get it. Mine also sometimes has a tendency to freeze, this has only happened three times though and compared to the V220 that is a small amount. I'd advise people to get this phone!

I bought this phone and it had problems with it. the data gets corrupt cause i got a error message saying that the movie file was corrupt and to keep or discard. and it really freezes daily and I don't know how ppl sell a phone like this. Yes it looks great! but the 450 i paid for it last christmast was a waste. I have sent it to fix and i havent gotten it back since May.

I have been using this V620 for more than 8 months now. Advise everyone against it. Good: Nice Display, Looks, Loud tones, MP3 ringtones, Accompanying software is great, USB cable comes in the box, Sturdy metal body - I've dropped mine many times, Battery comes for 3 days - I'm a medium user. Bad: Menu too slow, memory very less, games bundled with my phone were'nt good, Battery charging issues - why cant Motorola design a simple charge point like Nokia ? Connecting the charging pin to the phone in such a way that connection still exists - is a pain. And - don't touch the phone when its charging - otherwise the pin loses contact and u will find that the phone is not charging.

V620 looks great in black... but is a litlle bit slow, it has a problem with the bluetooth function and I don't know where the usb port is how specified in the rewiew, probably because it has not. The camera is ok, the display seames to be fine. A great phone but.. it can be better!

I have had this phone for about half a year now and it has had a significant amount of problems. At first it was great, althought the menus were a bit too slow. Recently it has started dropping service and in brief low service areas it has trouble regaining service. In addition, the camera no longer launches. Attempts either cause the screen to go white or multicoloured or simply lead to an error message. Furthermore, the screen just goes white and the phone restarts from time to time when switching calls or answering the phone. Finally, and this is a personal thing, I prefer T9 to Motorola's iTap predictive text. I don't know what Operating System Motorola likes to use, but I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST IT! I know people the V300 and V188 and they experience similar 'screen going white' problems from time to time, however, my camera problem seems unique. Aside from that, a few design issues I have is the lack of a service light that blinks non-stop when a text message arrives, I got used to this handy feature with Samsungs. In addition, the phonebook is a hassle due to the lack of a search feature, and the memory, at 5mb, is a bit too small for the media capabilities of this phone (a memory card expansion would be nice). Finally, SMS storage is to Sim Card only, limiting the number of messages you can store to only about 30 (but i have found this for ALL GSM MOTOROLA PHONES that I have seen). If you get this phone, this is my warning to you. You may recieve, at least mild, forms of the problems I have listed

this phone is the worst phone i ever had!i had this phone for a month and i had to repair it 4 times!!!the soft is very bad!so the led was lighting only one colour,then the batery was worst than other phone,rezist only 1-2 days!!it is really beautifull but the memory is too small and doesn't have a card slot!i got rid of it and sold it at half a price i baught it because i could not look at it any more!this phone...sucks!

had this phone a week now, I love it. Haven't had one problem with it yet. From bluetooth to downloads, everything is clear and easy right from the manual. Reminds me of my all time favorite cell phone, the StarTac, not to mention its cool and sleek design.

love this phone, only trouble is i cannot get my 'GPRS' going, i have been in store several times for them to put their code in which supposedly activates GPRS, still waiting!!! When i try go into GPRS it eventually says 'data server not available' WHY? HOW? Pleeeeeze help? Am i the only one experiancing this with the motorola v620?

Got this phone a couple of days ago and could not be happier with it. For those who say that they cannot activate the web browser they just DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT!! I have TMobile USA and it works with T-Zones just fine!! There is a long list of service provider browsers in the browser setup list so this phone works with a wide variety of browsers. Phone is sturdy with a good design, does what I want it to do, lovely!!

this phone was one of the phones i had my eye on but i couldnt afford it at the time so i bought the v600 instead. right from the start i had problems with it. incoming calls would come and i would open it up and the screen would flash 2 or 3 times and drop the call .. so my advise is stay away from this phone its going to be just like the v600 but with flashier design. 2 thumbs down

sweet phone, one of the best motorola instrument. nice metal body, excellent features, sweet camera & video recording, and it plays mp3 very loud. i love it and its better from the v620 go down to lower models even better than the v3! just one bad thing no mem stick :( :( :( but its one of the best phone moto got on the market!!

i have been using motorola v620 for a while now at start i had a problem where it was hanging up on calls as soon as i opened the fliptop to answer i returned this to the shop i bought it and they told me it had a faulty panel where by it wa sdraining the battery more quickly then normal so they changed a part to fix both these problems. now i am having a problem with the bluetooth where by other people can't understand me and that is with the phone less than 1 meter away from the head set. other than that i have not had many problems with it.

Hi ppl, I'm going to change my phone V620. I think i was not lucky with this one. I have brought this phone becouse of is Excelent and pure design. This phone comes with a lot of features... but need's a little of improvement in software. It was some bug's and mine was crashing and rebooting all time. After days of working i went to the shop for a change to a new phone... i have demonstrate to the store that mine was not working well, so the shop has changed to a new V620. After a day... i saw that it was not problem of the old one. All V620 had bug's in software and reboot's too. So after 4 month's with this phone... because i like the design very mutch, i give up, and going to sell it. Thank You for reading this.

EXCELLENT PHONE, i hadd to choose from the V3 black , E398 or the v620, so i took this, i really love this phone sweet design, superb features, excellent camera, the video is quality is not that good but its fine enough, just one bad thing the space is a bit too small only 5 mb, i got the data cable so i put on new tones like everyday. very nice mp3 ring, and the light on the front cover looks really sweet when it rings, so far no complains about the phone, of u gotto choose go with the v620!!!!! it rocks! if u need wallpapers email me!

Absolutely thrilled about the phone but havin a prob with the gprs. Im on a top up contract with mtn, my phone was stolen:-( did the sim switch and chose to buy my motorola v620 through a vodocomm special. Not sure if this is why gprs always says "launching browser" then "data server not available" please help is there any way to sort this out.

What can I say? It's a very good phone! You can customize it as well as you want, you just have to buy a bluetooth adapter for the PC (mine is TRENDnet TBW-102UB) and then U can download MP3, MIDI ringtones, Images, etc. It is very easy... just copy from the PC then paste it to V620 and that's all.

You can have more than one item per person in the Phonebook, it is just different than others (i.e. Nokia). >Open Phonebook >Menu / Setup / View / Primary Contacts Promary Contacts makes the default number for the person listed. When you then select that person in the phonebook, you can scroll through other details using the directional pad. Message Alert Tone is changed within the Ring Styles Settings of the Phone: >Menu / Settings / Ring Styles Then select the Style you want to customize (i.e. Vibe & Ring) Below the selected Style should be the text Vibe & Ring Detail. Click on that and you will be able to change all the tones for the phone IRing, Txt, Voicemail etc...) Hope this helps. Oh, and I think this phone is pretty good. Bluetooth PC Sync, nice reception and battery life and its comfortable to use... IMO...

I've managed to enlarge the phone memory from 5.5mb to 7.5mb with p2k software by deleting the phone's own clips and large mids. If you try so be careful what you erase! If you erase something wrong, you're phone may require a software rewriting.

So i just got the V620, i must say i love it. I did run into the internet WAP mMode problem, but after 2 hours of messing around i fixed. wanna know the solution, well here it is, get ready......DUN DUN DUUUUUUN: All you have to do is call you service provider and ask them what the settings need to be to get on the internet. They guide thru it, and tell you what to put in each spot, and POOF, i was surfin the net in a matter of 4 min. SIMPLE!!

Dwayne, i dont know where you got the idea of only being able to store 2-3 x 15-20 sec mp3 in the phone? I have about 10 mp3 ringtones saved, plus a tonne of poly ones, plus stacks of pics, plus about 15 videos that go for about half a minute each (or more)plus about 100 msgs and i still have plenty of memory left. I love the fact that if someone has a ringtone i want, i can get it from them via bluetooth. It rocks. the one downfall? The phone is sooooo slow!

ive had this phone for only 2 days and i can not stand it. before that i had a v600 and they all have exactly the same problem. when ever i press any button or even if i wanted to type in a message the connection is pathetic. its to bloody slow. i dont know what it is but i seem to find the looks of motorola very nice. i want to now buy the v3 and my family are not pleased. my brother knows more about phone than i do and he tld me all about motorolas. he sed dont even waste your time looking at. everything is wrong with the phone. it always has been and it always will. try something other than motorola. i think i shud as well. even my land line got a better review.id say

I bought this phone 3 days ago and although it has a lot of great futures and is very afordable, the phone has a lot of bugs. When I close the phone the sound options reset. Sometimes the phone closes without any warning. The battery doesn't last too long (about 3 days in standby, talk time about one hour and 8 minutes).

Looks great in black! But no point in having mp3 as option for ringtone unless you have mp3 of about 15-20 seconds -> which is pointless coz 5mb of internal memory adequate for 1-2 max mp3s.

I got this phone for my birthday, and I think it's great! Okay, there was the whole ordeal about WAP and MMS but I managed to get them both kick-started, thanks to my uncle. (He's an IT consultant or something like that, so if u no any 1 whose job is connected to that kinda thing, ask them, it's worth a try. I'd tell u the answer but I can't remember, its not complex tho.) N e way, I can't get the IM, (Instant Messaging) to work. I've added in all the details I can but it just says 'operation failed.' Ok heres my idea: Add a Sound recorder, FM Radio, Megapixel cam, memory card slot, external colour screen, MP3 Player, and improve the rest of the phone altogether (make it faster, less bugs, better quality video, etc) and this could be some kind of super mega awesome phone. well,... i dnt know if it works on other fones but it works on mine! anywayz,... i can expand the memory by another 5mb by adding a category and then deleting it afterwards! Here's how to do it! 1. Press MENU button 2. Go to MULTIMEDIA 3. Then, go to PICTURES 4. And press the "menu key" and go to CATEGORIES 5. Then go down to NEW CATEGORY 6. Type a name and select all your files! (pictures) then press DONE 7. Then go to CATEGORIES again and highlight the name of the category you just made! and delete it! (dont worry! ur picts wont be deleted!) 8. Then go back to PICTURES 9. Then VIEW FREE SPACE by pressing the menu key! and it shud say something like this: Free: 4999 Used: 0 Total:5000 but,... if u turn the fone off after saving more stuff like videos,.. etc! when u turn it on and luk at the free space,... its gonna say that the total memory is 4999999 or something lyk that! but my fone is still ok! So,... tell me if it works on urs pls! tnx! :)

The Hello Moto !! V620 is great value for money, its packed with features for its price (with a bluetooth Headset) the only thing missing is the FM Radio.

The V620 is the predecessor of the V600. The V620 is actually made for the Asian and European markets. It is a quad band phone and can be used in the U.S., but having it to configure to any U.S. cellular provider is merely impossible. T-Mobile USA and Cingular does not know the SMS and MMS configuration. And to make matters worst, Motorola USA does not know much about this phone because it was built in Singapore. The memory is small so you can't download much ringtones and the firmware is outdated. The phone freezes up constantly. The only nice part about the V620 is it's color. It's way over priced for being such a lousy phone. Motorola claims the V620 to be a much improved version of the V600, but I find the V600 to perform a bit better then the V620. V600 to V620 = bad to worst.

I've had my V620 for three months and after two months of very light useage the phone stopped working. It no longer is able to make nor receive any calls. I have taken it to a couple of repair places and they were stumped. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what is wrong with the phone?

I have this motorola V620 for one month now. This phone is available in Philippines for $365.00 with bluetooth headset, usb cable included in the package. This is a nice phone. In US, this is the old version of V600. I'm not sure if this V620 has the similar features of V635? I love this fone and motorola phones are already tested in US or even in europe. Here in Manila, most people amazed with the Nokia phones. Very rare are used of motorola phones. JUST IN CASE YOU WANT TO PURCHASE THIS PHONE, LET ME KNOW. memory ...around 5 megs ... but with a little tweaking (see www.motomodders.com) u'll be able to increse it till 6 megs or more (aka delete gp videos, a lot of mp3 and wav's, some pics, some pre-defined mms/sms) ... with more tweaking it is a posibility to reflash your phone with a new flash version, which will improve performances (menu speed, bluetooth response, etc) and flex-it with a language pack type lp 0001 (just english). this way (with one language) u release around half megabyte of memory. but attention: flashing/flexing is a little bit tricky. read all tutorials.

This is a great phone! Awesome screen quality takes good pics and looks very nice in black. I get heaps of comments from everyone when they see it. Blue Tooth works excellent and also takes good pics (for a VGA Camera). Some of the posts that bag this phone are really crapping on about nothing, don't listen to them. Hi again guys. You can pretty much video record for as long as u have memory, but mine has been stopping automatically lately, also the quality is pretty good but its slow. In fact the whole phone is pretty slow, but i think thats just motorola in general. If your phone is buggy, send it away for a software upgrade then u should be sweet. Also, if your phone isnt closing properly, and this is causing the lights to stay on and the front display to not work, that shouldnt be how it is. take it back.

When you close this clamshell phone, the rubber stoppers which stop the phone getting damaged when you close it are too high, which means the internal screen stays on, while you cant see anything on the external screen. The charger breaks after a while, same happened with my v600, you need to fiddle with it for it to start charging. The software on the handset is really slow as well - the v600 was the same

Yes it makes video with sound. Also, u should be able to get all GPRS settings for any network with this phone. There were no preset ones for Virgin Mobile when i got it, so virgin emailed me the instructions to enter the settings manually. Tmobile should be able to do the same.

Ok in response to a few peoples posts: -You can store heaps of msgs, mine has about 80 in there at the moment. -Push to talk means that u can use the phone sort of like a walkie talkie (depends on the phone and network etc) -Yes the V620 really does have video record. In response to the comment below: I wanted this phone, but was dissapointed by the features and software problems. I then decided to get the K700i, but as with all SE's you can't use custom sms alert tones and that is to me a put-off. One thing I must say about Motorola, they are really very customizable. I have been using them for over 6 years. And will be sad to be leaving them when my new (bug free) Nokia 6630 arrives. NOW THAT IS A GREAT PHONE. And the fact that it is so cheap due to initial software problems, is a real plus. Seeing as the upgrade period in South-Africa is two years, I had to make really sure about which phone to get. Took me almost 3 months. This phone (v620) is a sad case. Motorola seems to be going south. Have a good look at their high-end phones (all missing some vital feature). Except maybe the v635. That I would take if it was available in South Africa

This phone is awesome, i have had it just over 2 months now, still trying to get used to texting (im used to nokia) but the rest is great. A couple of gripes- no push to talk, no expandable memory, and occassionally the camera goes a bit 'funny' but i still love it. I have the Midnight Ruby casing on it, it looks so hot in red!

I'm an IT Pro and I tend to expect a lot from my devices; but for this phone the only thing I expected is to place and receive phone calls and maybe use some text message features. The software freezes big time on basic operations like answering the phone, or writing a text messages. Besides being instable, the OS is slow in any kind of task and the phonebook doesn't store more than 1 phone number per person. Real nice design, nice keypad...but that's pretty much it. I really regret this purchase.

I bought this phone yesterday after spending about a week pondering it and reading reviews. I bought it on o2 pay as you go and it cost me �129.99 plus i had to buy a �10 top up too - although i had this put on my existing genie sim. I had the same wap & mms problems as so many others but it wasn't that hard to sort and i had done it within an hour. Overall very impressed. Sounds good, looks good, weighs a tonne! However this is really not a problem. Everyone is impressed by the flashing lights when it rings. I have downloaded a few midi/poly ringtones and they all sound great. The MP3 tones seem a little quieter though. Photo quality is good-you can zoom in before taking the picture, shame the video clips can't last a bit longer, but I didn't buy the phone for this feature. The only other thing I don't like is the aerial - have never liked aerials, so have invested in a stubby - makes the phone look all that much slicker. Overall I am thrilled with the phone and i say go buy one!

Just change the format of your time that's all. I just purchased this phone a few days ago and I find it alright. I've already dropped the darn thing on the first day of usage but only because of how heavy it is compared to my V872 which i previously used before. So far it seems like a decent phone. Speaker is loud and the mp3 quality that plays out from the speaker is quite clear. Make sure if you upload music into the phone you atleast get 128 quality.

for a while i have been wanting a clamshell fone with all the goodies and so i ended up getting the motorola V620. I am not disappointed. On some review sites i went to they complained about the menu options being slow... i havent had this problem - i find it very quick. I havent used a motorola b4 so im still adjusting to the non-nokia way of things but i think its easy and one you get the hang of it... as simple as any fone to work. Funny enough most of the problems i have read people having, i found the solution to by reading the manual that came with the phone. its good idea to do - after all isnt that what they made them for? Bluetooth is cool, i havent used it before or anything similiar so im really amused by the convinience of it all =) definetly tops. With ringtones and stuff i had a bit of problem, not realising the bit below it was where the word detail was but it only took me two seconds to realise it and the ringtones are really awes .. the camera quality i think is better than some of my friends fones, and i was surprised how clear pics actually came out being. I am recommending this phone to anyone. It is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it and it looks good and the light thing that it has going on makes it more stylish which for younger people - the novelty of is appealing. I give it 10/10 no doubts about it!

hi - ive had my v620 for a week now and it scores 20/20 all round. The phone comes with about 40 tones (some poly and some MP3), 2 games, the photo editor, 3 videos, about 6 images, 3 animated wallpapers and the MOTOMIXER (music mixing software), which takes up 1 MB of the phones 6 (SIX - not FIVE) MB of its memory (it shows up as 5 because 1mb of it cant be deleted). 5mb of space is enough to store plenty of things. like 15 (compressed) mp3 tracks, about 50 photos or about 25-50 standard sized java games. For the money (i paid 130 quid) you get a phone that looks good, has an mp3 player (although it only has the 5mb of memory), bluetooth, video recorder and playback, handsfree, onboard foto editing, customisable themes (you can change what the whole thing looks like), multi colour lights on the fromt (you can customize these), a photo phone book, an instant messanger, fax and email (i could go on further, but i feel that im boring you already). so if you wanna complain about its lack of memory, go for a nokia, which are around 50 quid dearer (for the same spec), and you can then go and buy a really expensive memory card, or, you can shut up (in the non offensive way :-D ), go and buy a USB cable, like i did, for a fiver, or a bluetooth dongle, and download the motorola phonetools software, and each night, you can transfer all of your pics, n vids to the computer, n clear the fone. Why are you people constantly complaining? you;re buying a mobile phone, which is cheap, and does EVERYTHING that any mobile phone out there can do!!! You're not paying 400 quid for this!! if you're that desperate about it having so little space (which it hasnt) buy two - they're that cheap!!!!! ratings: looks: 10/10 features: 10/10 camera: 9/10 space: 8/10 overall: an easy 10/10!!!

Great Phone, It looks so cool in black compared to the silver v500 e.t.c. Took a while to get MMS and GPRS working on o2 but eventually found the settings at ­ and now it's works perfectly. Camera is great for it's size although video is still a bit fuzzy. 5mb memory seems small but i've got over 20 games on mine easy.. Great Phone !!! :-)

The reason why many of you are having WAP, MMS, and other problems with the V620 is because you never upgraded the phone memory. The CD software and data cable that is included are all that you need to upgrade the phone. The phone software that is in the V620 is actually the V600. The CD software takes care of this and ALL the problems. Upgrade the phone before posting negative messages.

Hi everyone. I would like to know how much user memory there is actually available on this phone. I have read somewhere that there is three video clips on that take up 3mb of the 5mb space, and they cannot be deleted. Is this true? What can anyone do with 2mb? How is the sound quality? Thanks for replying to my query Mood. I tested this phone before and found out that there is no zoom in the camera. The 'zoom' function can only work only after the picture is taken. Anyone care to clarify on this? To Danny: You can buy a USB Bluetooth adapter for your computer and synchronize them together by turning on the phone's Bluetooth function. Hope that helps :)

I work for a phone company and so when i saw the specs of this phone i though it did look rerally good for the price. Instead what i got was pretty rubbish phone. It does look nice and has a good screen but there were to many problems with it to make it even half decent. For a start sticky buttons and a well below average predictive texting system and compicated menus compared to other phones ment genaral phone usage and getting set up for mss and gprs was a pain. Also the bluetooth is poor and you have to switch `find me ` on in the bluetooth settings if you want someone send you anything. Also only 5mb of memory with no ability to expand it is not only poor buy pointles as you can have mp3s for ringtones and has an mp3 player in it, but with only 5mb you only have room for one or two songs!!!. I ended up selling my v620 on ebay and using the money i got to buy a Nokia 6670 and its awesome. Its much easier to use and the screeen is huge and clear with a 1megapixle camera. Plus it comes with 64mb memory card as standard and a usb line to conect it staright to your pc so you can drag and add with ease. So Although the motorola looks vey sexy the nokias are just so much easier to use and are better made.

great phone, heavy and a metal sensation in you;re hand when u talk. i've been a nokia user for 6-7 years - waste of money/time with those people's phones - yes they are the best phones in the world that come in many flavours but not for me anymore. i tried something different - a very very good move (menu is excelent - different platform, different thinking when you call, the picture quality is cristal clear and the 65k screen is just REAL, NATURAL like all decent phones should have). and the design is european - top of the range materials, beautifull insertions of inox over black aluminium - overall efect that says STYLE is what i am nd did not buy. conclusion - i won't change it untill it's stolen/broke, and when it'll do either of these, i'll buy a new one just like this. thank you for you're time.

2 months into my V620 experience and I'm annoyed. The V620 drops calls with 3-4 bar signal and has severe packet loss issues. Oddly, the old, crappy Siemens S40 it replaced works fine under the exact same conditions. I knew the V600 had problems (Cingular dropped it "for cause") but thought the V620 had solved the problems. Apparently not.

The front cover will scratch, above the camera. a scratch of 1 line, at first i just can't belive it when it scratch and wondering where did the scratch come from. then i realize if you open the phone, you will see the cover scratch against the rubber and it makes me so uncomfortable when looking at the scratch. hopefully Motorola will realize their mistake and make a better quality.

this phone does not have a memory card slot. However, that is not a problem for me, as in Australia this phone is supplied with a USB cable so everything can be uploaded to your PC, and as sarah said get a bluetooth hub

hey i noticed like me alot of you are concerned about the 5mb of memory but as the phone has bluetooth you can get a bluetooth hub to plug into your computer for round about �20 so just copy all of you pictures/videos onto you pc and then delete them ready top take more =) hope that helped! (I'm also thinking about getting the V620)

I need some help and opinians please. I have just bought this phone and I am having problems with wap and receiving picture messages and ringtones from my friends. When I try to access sites on my mobile that are allready stored on the phone i.e Hello Moto site I get a message that reads �unable to display page� this happens with every site that I try to go to. I have had my MMS and WAP settings installed on my phone by O2 and the only site that is accesable is the O2 Active page. Does anyone else have any problems with their WAP browser or MMS? If so please can you let me know or if anyone else knows how to fix it or where I am going wrong I could really do with your help. I just want to check weather or not my phone is not doing something that it should be doing. I�d really appreciate the help.

You can get a good deal from Carphone Warehouse on Virgin (actually unlocked and with no logos). Yes, you can change the outer shell and battery cover and they're available in most accessory stores and on Ebay. The V600 shell is the same.

Damn this phone oozes quality. In a world full of creeking plastic crap and pointless gimmicks the V620 is like a brath of fresh air. Okay, so it doesn't have masses of memory, but at �159 from The Carphone Warehouse I can save enough to buy an MP3 player as well. I'd swop all your gimmicky cameras and stupid flashing lights for a well made, solid and classy phone, but now I can have that and the gimmicks too! It's not for pre-puberty phone kiddies, it's a real phone for real people, and moan all you want about the external aerial, I at least now get a signal in places where my GX20, TM100, GX30, 6230 and more have failed to get one. For those who value substance over marketing, this is one of the finest phones around IMHO.

To joe.at.hotmail.com-you're probably moving the pictures, not copying them...you see, motorola uses the term "copy" to refer to sending files to other devices through bluetooth...if you hit move, then the file is moved and erased on your memory.

Oh,and Sandy,in relative terms,it's actually a LOT of memory compared to the majority of other phones.Example;one high quality pic (640x480)which is captured really good (some pics aren't as clear as others,lighting perhaps?) wasn't larger on my phone than 40-50Kb. Do the math yourself. However,that quality is when youw want them on your PC. MMS quality is up to 10 times smaller (in memory usage) so in total you get a phone that can store hundreds of pics,depending on the quality. I've just returned from a vacation and haven't used even 50% of the memory for all the pics I've taken.

Someone asked about what one gets in the box. Well U get the forward (main) part of the phone,battery and the rear part in separate packs with a serial number,the charger also in a pack with a serial number,user manual and warranty or whatever else your provider gives. At least that's what I got. Does this help?

it sometimes happen with motorolas, the camera issue. depends on the make (especially with the v5xx series, which are inherently same save the design). i think it was something like the AA or AB models had an issue with the camera, but when you get it back it should be fine.

I admit i bought this phone based on reviewes.. the phone lives up to everything promised.. its a great phone overall. But i myself have had a bad experience with the phone, i took the phone home for a couple of hours and the camera just stopped working.. it showed a blank screen. I must have been the 1/1000 faulty phones? But ive sent it back to motorola and waiting on a new one, anyone had the same problem?

I have never really been a great fan of the Motorola V-series, but I think the V-620 as one of the better phones. A big improvement over V-600. Most outstanding feature is 256k screen. Could do with bigger memory though.

This phone it's good for the budget.. inexpensive but already has MP3, bluetooth and 256K color screen.. basically a uglier version of the V3 but the OS really sucks.. gets frozen all the time and too slow to load pictures.

I've had v600 for about two months now and I'm absolutely thrilled. It has almost everything anybody could ever expect from a cell phone. Almost. And now v620 has added just those few things ie. video capture and mp3 ringtones. I agree with some people about just 5 Mb of memory,it could have 10 Mb like sony-ericsson,but hey,anything else and the v620 would be closer to a computer than a cell phone. :)

I am posting a follow up from a previous review. At that time i had ordered the phone, now i have had it for 2 days and i have to say the v620 is on of the best phones i have ever had. The reception is outstanding, i went from getting no reception on my nokia 6600 in my room, to getting full reception. The shared 5 mb memory is a little low, but regardless the programs givin to u with the phone convert the size of the files and the format so that they dont occupy too much space. Overall this phone's features as well as the performance and not to mention the design is extra-ordinary. Thanks.

Just ordered this phone, i dont know y ppl complain so much about this phones memory, it is a little small but for a flip phone this is probably one of the best phones to be created. It supports mp3 format ringtones, it has 15 seconds video capture which is actually better than my other phone (nokia 6600) and also it is a very sleek and stylish looking phone.

the phone has 5mg of shared memory therefore u cant put a number on how many msgs or numbers u can get into this phone, u need to consider the other stuff u have in the phone, example i had 7 pics and about 30 numbers in here ans it was 97% full and froze

v620 is a decent phone, easy to use, looks great, only downside is the 5mg memory, it freezes when you keep too much on it which sucks but other then that, great photos and screen, and for the price with the free bluetooth and data cable i wouldnt complain too much

To Watcher: I too have a K700i but I'm thinking of exchanging it for a V620. SHould I? My main problems with K700i is difficulty with pressing the correct number on the small + tight keypad. I also fear scratching the display as its not a clamshell. Had the K700i only been a clamshell it would be the best! It has great menus. What about the v620? How are the Motorola menus in comparison? Any other thought on the differences?

My V620, 1 week old, froze when I took a pic, then went to delete it. The pic in the window froze on the screen for 3 hours, the handset got HOT before I was able to recover. Whilst 'frozen' I couldn't even turn it off! When it was operational again I recharged it and went thru the same procedure but it did not re-occur. Strange and as Dame Edna would say ....'Spooky'.

I have had the SE K700i and I like this phone better.The K700i is anly an upgraded T610-T630 and is very flimsy(nice display though)whereas this phone is quite sturdy and not so hard to text with as well as having the screen protected by being a flip phone.The K700i also doesnt have as good battery life as the Moto V620 and yes you can get changeable covers for this model.It is exactly the same as the v600 except there is video and it would have been nice if there was more than just 5MB memory but................this phone rocks!!

I have the v600 and it is !?!? picture qaulity is not bad on mine didnt get the option to save my numbers to sim tho! and i just cancelled my contract on it because o2 are having my eyes out asking for the phone for a "month" to fixe the back speaker... o2 also say the v80 has video capture like it did with the v600 they should get done by the trading standards!... wouldnt mind the v620 as it looks nice in black and can actually capture videos!! anyone know when its out?

Any news on the camera this? Is it better than the V600, or the same? Read a few reviews in which gave the V600 substandard marks for the quality of the cam, while not providing video making. Does anyone know if the V620 has a memory card? Also have they fixed the problem that the V600 had, where the SMS are only stored on the SIM card and not the phone? It is a real pain in the butt as I can only have about 15 SMS on the card at any one time. Other than those two points, its the best phone I have ever had.
