Tom. Copy photos to memory card. MENU -> 3 -> 1 to get you to handset memory, then choose Video or Image, then My Photos, cursor up and down to choose photo. Once you've chosen the photo, press the 'Three dots ' button, and cursor up and down to move or copy, say choose copy, you'll see a message saying '08090204.JPG( photo number ) will be copied etc'. Then another window opens up, choose Memory Card and choose the folder on the Memory Card that you want to put the photo in. Then repeat for next photo, etc,etc.

Drivers not really useful for this phone. You can't transfer your contacts or texts by USB, i.e. your texts freeze when you reach around a total of 700 texts depending on the size of the texts. I bought a driver disc, cable kit for �40 like a mug a few years ago to download the texts when I didn't know any better. It's much better to have a Memory Stick Duo memory card and at least it's simple and easy to download your photos and videos. If anyone wants akit, I've got one.

I have an old NEC e228 that I blocked as I put wrong code in 3 times and then remembered what it was but had no more attempts. Haven't used the phone for years now but would like to get the pictures off of it. Does anyone know the reset code I need to use? This Phone Nec E228 nice. However, i wish the screen size would increase, for more video pixels, then the camera angle. this is if i wan't to take a photo where i don't wnt to be seen that I am. ie i can turn the camera its self ie some Nokias. The double sim card slots. internal sound for call timer. ie. motorolas. while talking a click sound tells you howmuch time used. Direct internet burtton. latest internet connections. More fomt adjustments. not only in messages. Call memos extended time and counts. Notepad counts and character increase. standing angle vertical in terms of visibility at desk. microphone possition. here some poeple put the phone too clooser on the chick thus preventing their sound form getting through. Loudseker while dilling before getting conected. Vibrations to be stronger. Tusk bar more functional. Otherwise this is my lates phone.

The new NEC e228 is a good handset when you talk about the current features of other good handsets. I know why many people talk bad about it is mainly, due to the absence of infrar and bluetooth. But we, the users should understand that it is built like that just to serve us better. it is all good. the only thing I dont like about it is the Body-built up. It is so soft and thus can spoil at a fail on a ground or floor.

I bought this phone when 3 were doing the special offers for around �40.00. It had a nice camera and a large screen. I spend hours taking pics of my friends and making videos. The only thing that bugged me was that it developed a fault within a week and had to be replaced. Two phones later and it went back for a refund. On the overall it had good features but the reoccuring faults made it not worth having.

nec e228 is very light high function high resolation dualcamera gp set it has all majore function tft screen and 9 line big screen 2 inch lcd it has 19 mb bult in memory and memory slot but it has pover battery but cery 3g has mostlly this problem ,its software cd with driver is easily available in sader karachi mobile market with data cable on the price of 300 rupee and i got it i have saved ,100 poly phonic and 11 songs in my set result is nice ,its camera result is more great than k 700 and 6600 and above set sound is nice, in sader the dwnloader may charge u 100 rupee or less for tone and clips and wallpapers and other files,java game are downlaod through gprs but there is mostly no comapany the setting of gprs and mms for this set if they just know the apn name and address for mms setting is in set but mms center name and proxy is being told by operator if any one kno telenor setting tell me

As it is a 3G set the mobile operators in Pakistan are using 2.5G systems therfore few applications like video chats etc are not applicable in Pakistan till the writing of this mail. Moreover E228 has been manufactured for three.com .uk only therefore three pay has made software that supports all services provided by three pay only. Therefore the settings for E mail, GPRS, MMS and powertools are not available. Only three.com .uk can provide the solution for All above features and Java Applications. I like it most of the time, has lots of functions and a decent picture quality, but there are a few annoying things about it: - audio and video recording limited to 1 minute, even though I have plenty of memory space. Hey, I want to record lectures on my phone, not just "Hello!" MMS messages. - when the screen backlight is off, you can see nothing. I have to push a button just to check the time. - Talking about time: the clock display is so tiny and has a poorly-designed font that I often confuse 16:26 with 18:28. - the keys are shaped in such a way that it is easy to push the wrong one. - the lettering on the keys is not very well visible. - couldn't find a way to make the keyboard to self-lock itself when not in use; - with a phone this big, why is the microphone so close to the speaker? What was the idea behind puttin the mic just under the screen instead of on the lower end of the set, under the keys? - with my network (ERA in Poland) I have not been able to use this phone's GPRS. For whatever reason, service people can't configure it. This is why I have to get another phone. I am told the e228 works fine on other networks in Poland. So before you buy one of these, make sure it is compatible with your network. Cheers, LL

i have a nec e228 phone. its the worst phone i ever seen. it too big. its video quailty is rubbish, and it can only record 23 seconds on half-decent video at a time. you cant play any games on it except for the ones you buy of 3. it does not have bluetooth, not even infared. its battery life is appauling. it lasts about 90 minute. there are too many restrictions on the phone. can only be used with a 3 sim. cant get your own games on it. usb does not work half the time, does not play mp4s and mp3s that are over 30 seconds that you have sent. on my opinion its not a good phone, just get a nokia 1100, it better

NEC e228 is a fly phone but it seems not to perform well in my area (Nairobi, Kenya). It losses network so many times and automaticaly restarts then prompts PIN 1. I dont think its true that it was never designed for my area because I've used other NECs before (e.g. DB7000) and they all worked well. Someone with a clue why it behaves like this, please get back to me.

NEC e228 looks good feels good,it`s a good phone,battery goe`s quick but they do give you two.it`s the 3g network that stinks,unless your a big user or run your own company, it`s us the little people who suffer, if you got one don`t get another until they lift the restrictions that deny you the rite to open your phone to network of your choice, by whoever you want, if your not happy with there network.it`s not against the law to unlock your mobile and it should not be a big deal."virgin mobile does this for nothing on there phones just ring them up & tell them your IMEI number they will send you a code to unlock it and full instructions (good on you richard). they also need to let your credit roll over to the next month, at present "dont use it "you lose it".now to the person named ruwanga who needs or needed usb software for the e228 you said in you review that you have the unlock software for nec,is it right for the e228,and can you email it to me if it is please,if you still need usb drivers i will send to you, or others if need them.or if anyone knows of a place that opens e228,or has program like the one you will find at "that last letter is a L but not capital". the program is called "ALL NEC mobiles with camera unlock software,and that address should take you to it,i have not got it but if anyone has please send it to me, i am having trouble ordering it.they say it opens lot`s of models including NEC e228. if you can help thanks, and i hope i can or have been of any help to anyone else. email is [email protected]

hi all ive just got the nec 228 to replace the motorola a925 the phone is good but if u want to put midi files on it u are restricted to 20 kb very small and it wont play mp3s over 3mb load of crap. Something to do with 3 wanting to rip us off.ps im going back to o2 asap no restrictions

I have e228 the phone is good value for money..i have the usb cable and software you can get it from ebay cost me about �7.50inc p&p .. As for 3 they are totally fukcing sh*t. You lose all credit if not used in a month ,you have to buy their java games. And the phone can`t be unlocked yet... 10/10 for the phone 0/10 for 3 .... Somebody please find ou thow to unlock...

this phone is great for the price. yes the battery life isnt great but were's the problem in having to charge your phone every night, not that much of problem, and me having switched from my ever faithful nokia, which i only had to charge once a week, but the features on this phone are exellent, far better than nokia. i havent had any problems with 3 network really, but when i have had to call customer services it can be frustrating with the language barrier!! but thats nothing to do with the phone itself.

I'm wondering where I can get the driver software for my NEC e228. I already have the USB cable. The problem is that I live in Italy and have an APO address because my husband is in the military. The only places I find the driver software are on British web sites (including ebay.co.uk) who only ship within the UK. I don't speak Italian, otherwise I'd order from Italian ebay. what can i say what a great phone. it doesn't come with leads or cd but i used a friends nec616 data lead and downloaded the drivers from www.sydweb.co.uk/TEMP/Nec%20e228.ZIP and away i went saving aprox �27 on a cd. i fiound this phone a little tricky to use as all 3g phones can be at first. the phone is a little on the larger size but all these features take a lot of space. if you want a 3g phone i would recommmend this one or the e616. the camera takes good quality pictures and the video recording is a lot of fun to use...... i rate this 9/10 duee to its size c ya

this fone is pants...what a load of s^&*...yet another money making scheme from 3g...i dont blame NEC,i blame 3g not only are you restricted to only their java warez..but if you look in the menu for access mp3 {downloaded by you,stored on memory card by you...there is an option in the menu to make all mp3z stored on memory, be used 4 ringtones..but 3G have barred this option with a firmware update...why the FCUK did they do that,well i can tell you why...���������� dollar dollar bills...it cost money to put there stupid run of the mill...MIDI files...why not let this option be up to the user... its in the FCUKIN menu....WA*NK*E*R5

the best 3 handset out at the moment with good features ,longer battery life and loads of extra bits on the phone .alot of features taken from the e616 & e313.same about no zooms on the camera stills but still the best so far in the three range as i myself have tested working within a mobile phone company..
