F this phone. I have it play music on the background and while I was on facebook as soon as the notification tone sounded, it jammed the music and boom all sounds were off. I tried restarting the device but thats it, my music/sound chip is destroyed. Poor phone. It has heating issues too. Ton of BS. Don't buy this phone. Rating? No stars ever.

Ive been using Huawei P2 Ascend for almost a year now. When a week ago we went on for a vacation. I charged my phone on a power bank for awhile and after that I cannot open it anymore. Like it is stucked on the logo everytime it powers on and always shuts down. But when I open it while charging it works fine. Is the problem with the battery or the phone itself? Is there any way I can fix it or should I handle it to the experts? Thank's yall

I have same experience regarding my p2 I already look for a battery and they said they have no battery for huawei p2 that its already phase out haaay then I even contacted the main service center and they said they are no available battery for huawei p2 until now I couldn't use my phone its charging but I couldn't open it when I try to open it shutdown 😞😭😭&#128­557;

I had the same experienced and much worst was the program was corrupted, I had to bring it to the technician and install new program for 800php. Good thing is I could use my IG but the performance is not as good as before!

i bought my huawei ascend p2 last october 2015.. after a week the battery suddenly dained and it shuts down for about 4 hours it doesnt charge and totally dead for 4 hours.. after several months the phone gets laggy and always hanged up and it also shutsdown for almost 8 hours. so i got a problem about this phone it is easily overheat specially when you do games even a game which is not a high end games it gets laggy and its battery easily gets low bat.. then a month ago my huawei shutsdown and not charge for even a days and weeks.. i thought it was totally dead so i standby it for about a month and i took it to the technician to check if the phone was be fixed.. the tech said that the problem is the cpu itself so i decided to buy another phone and put it to the trash... but days gone by i try to charge the phone and in my surprised the phone charged and it goes to normal. i think that phone has security features which in case overheat comes it shuts down itself and let is cool for a while.. but for me i regret buying this phone due to overheat but also im happy that the phone is not totally dead..

Bought this phone last Nov. 14, 2014. And now I sent it under repair (Hopefully it will be back to me fixed in less than a month - too much time to wait). Glad it's still warranty covered but the sales clerk told me once they have proven that the automatic restarting is a user-fault, then the warranty will be void. Looking forward to updating this review. I have mine automatic restarting perhaps due to battery overheating as the phone gets too hot.

I bought the phone (top spec huawei ascend p2) about 5 months ago and all i have had is problems with it, its been sent back to huawei 6 times in 5 months, each time it comes back with more problems then it went away with! the first it started to smoke because it overheated so that apparently got repaired (but definitely wasn't) and they sent it back and then the "back, home and info button" stopped working and got sent off for this, (these problems are still present) and many more problems with it like the speakers giving up, charger point and m.i.c have stopped working... i would highly recommend that you DON'T BUY THIS PHONE! I have sent many emails and letters to huawei trying to get a new phone sent, to no avail! so now im using an iphone 5s

Just this last weekend my Ascend P2 started acting strangely, apps kept crashing, even built-in ones like Settings. Now the phone wont boot, it stays stuck on the animated Huawei logo. I have tried all types of Power+Volume-button combos, but cannot get further than the Huawei logo screen. Beware of this phone, I say. Backup regularly. If I had known what I know now, I would backup daily!

Had one of these when they first came out. Brilliant phone, never had a single problem with it, found the connection speed plenty fast enough at the time. The only reason I don't have this phone any more is because I upgraded to the Honor 6.

Hi! try going to settings-power manager here you'll see three options. Choose either normal or optimum performance and then restart the phone. Hope this helps.

just got mine 2 days ago. flash stopped working but it worked after fully charging it. maybe the phone wont allow you to use the flash (camera, video, flashlight app) if the phone has low battery life. use it most of the time as wi-fi hotspot. no issues. got 32GB 2GB ram version for only 8990PHP. :D

I have been using Huawei P2 32gig and 2gig RAM version for at least 3 months now and I am fairly happy with it. I really cannot complain much on the battery as I basically have my portable wifi hotspot turned on practically for half of the day and sometimes longer so I have no choice but to carry with me a power bank to give the battery enough juice to last the whole day or at least while I am out. Although I did try it several times during weekend not to use the portable hot spot as I have wifi at home and it does last longer. I am using right now two other phones; Iphone 5 and a BlackBerry Z10 and spec wise all three are pretty close to each other including the battery. But since I use the data plan on my P2 (with or without wifi)surely it is the fastest one to run out of juice among the three phones. But in general I have had no problems with it similar to the issues I have read in the comments. I guess I am lucky to get a good unit or so. My only gripe if there is one is that like one guy mentioned for this particular model it would seem Huawei has no plan to allow SW updates. But honestly that is not a deal breaker for me. I am fine using it's current android version of 4.1.2. I did not buy this phone for its software. I bought it for its spec plus the fact Huawei offered a 60% discount so to me its a steal and great deal. Absolutely no complaints.

Good day Angel, you are wondering why yoir HUAWIE P2 is Heating when you use your internet? If yoir using Mobile data trafic its natural. This is My suggestion. If yoir using Wifi only you can turn of the setting of the LTE signal of your network so that you can save more power and the heat will be lesser. Thank you 😄

I have the GL07S which is the Japanese version of this phone with a virtually identical spec. The phone is one year old and the power button has been failing on it for weeks. I just had to install a software fix to use the volume button to turn the phone on. A phone that lasts just one year what would you think? Needless to say I won't be recommending or buying Huawei again. I should also add that they don't issue Android updates so you're stuck with whatever version your phone comes in. Avoid.

Absolutely horrific phone. Didn't work out of the box, hardware issues involving the screen and HD images, cut out the sim card whenever it felt like, which could be up to 25 times in a day, causing constant restarts. Shut down apps when it felt like, terrible battery life, needlessly slippery design meaning it was useless to use with gloves on, even though it specifically shouted about its gloves mode. Refused to notify me on updates from time to time, still on 4.1 Jellybean even though updates to 4.3 and 4.4 were promised: never delivered by Huawei through obvious lack of care. Got incredibly slow, incredibly quickly and called for constant restarts, awful cropping mechanism in the default gallery meant it was essential you download something else such as QuickPic. Froze frequently,ugly and unchangeable UI, which looks stupidly childish and simplistic, and a total absence of an app tray means your screen would get very clogged, very quickly. The one and only positive is that it's aesthetically nice. 1/10. Practically no redeeming qualities on this phone.

Well, I am happy using Huawei, my first Huawei phone still working good, and when I saw that they put on sale Huawei Ascend P2 last Saturday, I don't have a second to grab and bought this unit, I am satisfied. Really affordable LTE /3G mobile unit, what else can you ask for more? Just Manage the application , to clear the cache from time to time to save battery power..

Have had this phone for about 2 months. Well it was only for a bout $199 NZD so it was really cheap for its specs. Camera takes good photos outside during daylight but struggles under low light but still gets the job done and front camera is decent for selfies. Buttons are responsive and the dedicated 2 stage camera shutter is really nice. Its lightweight but personally i think its too light so i bought a case for it so thats fine, pretty much just plastic all round but i can live with that. Can play most 2d games and majority of high 3d games but some games like asphalt 8 is playable but framerate is really bad. Call quality is great, wifi signal is great, emotion ui is meh but i use nova launcher so thats all good.Battery life is above average as i can get about 4 hours of screen time on before i need to charge (around 10%) and under normal usage, you should be able to last a whole day but warning - it will turn off when ur at 2% so charge before that. The thing im disappointed is the the ram. Marketing says its got 1gb of ram but its only actually got around 798mb and only about 400-300mb is available so multitasking is a pain. Also software support for this phone is pratically nothing, huawei pretty much forgot about this phone and don't expect any update ever which sucks because it would've been nice to see at least kitkat running on this phone. For benchmark i get around 16.5k on antutu and around 5000 on quadrant. If anyone looking to buy this phone i recommend you do but just download a different launcher if emotion ui doesn't suit ur liking because overall for its price, its got really good specs.

I've owned this model for quite a while now and can say that the camera is superb, I bought it mainly for that reason and I like that it has a physical shutter button as well as the screen button. the phone functions exactly as it should, It's odd that the main reason for having a phone is often the one thing that is not commented on! On the minus side, the battery life is not brilliant, but it seems that most smart phones are daily chargers also, so it's just a matter of forgetting the old dumb phones with the 30 day batteries and accepting daily charging! the second niggle is the fact that the screen defaults to half brightness arbitrarily and this has to be reset manually every time. I realise that this is Huawei's attempt to maximise battery life but it is so annoying. Overall, it's a good phone that's bordering on VERY good.

Hi, so I have had this phone for 7 months now and I've noticed a lot of bad points and good points (more bad than good) Pros �Its relatively cheap �has a big display �camera is very good �flash is very bright �colours on the phone are very vibrant �is fast at some points Cons �slow most of the time �cant use an SD card �flash light doesn't work sometimes �crashes a lot �WiFi messes up on it all the time (requires reboot) �camera quality is terrible as you zoom �constant brightness change - in other words the brightness changes every 5 mins on some days and is a pain in the butt! I rate the phone 3 star out of 5 If anyone knows how to sort some of the cons out it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am on Vodafone contract and have a Huawei Ascend P2. I cannot get the 4G to work on this handset at all. I have tried in the APN settings to set it to LTE but this then stops me from connecting to the internet etc. In mobile networks it shows only Vodafone 3g and 4G. Shame as phone is a really fast piece of kit. Any one else has problems with this handset with regards to 4g?

Made from is always China,Huawei company is a Chinese company. so original is from China. If made from any country which is not China, then you have to be suspicious about that phone. For battery, most android smart phones last a working day under normal use, So it depends how you use your phone. what is on paper may not be practical and one's experience with battery use may not be the same with the other.

Typing on p2 now. Although it's my 1st smartphone so I've nothing to compare it to, I like the thing. Battery not great but I don't need it to be, simple controls, scary good predictive typing that learns my stylistic quirks... but for me what kills it is I can use it as a WiFi hotspot for my laptop with speeds as good as my old broadband. Downsides are sometimes main touch controls are a bit sensitive, I can't organise the menu screens like I'd prefer, camera's flashy but impractical, and USB to laptop for file transfer or tethering is flawed. But overall it's pretty damn diggety. :)

Bought p2 for my wife after looking at other handsets of a similar price, bought it from 3 for 300 GBP, camera is awesome but that was a main reason for buying it. Download speeds are incredible and put my htc one x to shame. The only down point that I can find with this handset is that it was a bit jumpy playing real racing 3, I would have also liked 2gb ram like in the p6 but hey they'll probably release a p2 power plus LOL. It supports usb otg and mhl compatibility, I've seen a few reviews where others have said there's not enough storage on the handset but with usb otg and lots of free cloud like dropbox/cx it shouldn't be an issue. Overall its a stunning well crafted handset and is well worth the 300 quid price tag. Bang for buck its a great phone.

Dual-core 1.5Ghz is fine, quad-core 1.4-5Ghz is great! 1GB of RAM is vital, 2GB is amazing. More is always better, and mind you; Huawei is taking a great approach to this market. They are producing amazing CPUs in-house, with smooth graphics, that beat a lot of the 2012 4th-Quarter flagships. Research and know what you're talking about, before creating false rumours. People keep arguing about the specs, you need to realize that this one is aiming at budget high specs smartphones. Huawei Ascend line is like this: the "Y" stands for Youth, "G" for Gold, "P" for Platinum and "D" For Diamond, thats why Ascend D2 Specs are higher than P2 because it is intended for a higher type of consumer that cares about stuff like 1080P screen etc... A higher frequency (i.e 1.6ghz) doesn't mean more performance. Nor does more cores. Architecture is what matters. Don't brush it off just because it has the same number of cores and the same frequency as an excellent tablet.

If your father can pay data cost and the manufacturer can juice the phone with a bigger battery then I have no complain. For your information when you compare a note 2 to a htc butterfly you hardly notice a difference with a naked eye. It doesn't matter how many pixel per inch there are. What it matters is the display technology of the display. That's why a full HD TFT Display will hardly do any better than a HD Super Amoled one or a puremotion HD+ one. It's just a marketing point to sell devices and attract & fool customers. And I'm not an Apple fanboy. I'm a sony and Nokia one.

Have you seen any 440dpi (or more) display in person?And have you compared them directly to the iPhone?seems to me that pro reviewers around the globe are usually blown away by the fullHD ones (440dpi and more).
