  • actually you can, just download the .ipsw file for whited00r 7.1 (yes with zeros not Os) and you will get a costum version of ios that simulates ios 7 it even had a simulated siri but the siri doesn't work everything else does. DISCLAIMER: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, THERE CAN BE ERRORS THAT ARE ANNOYING TO FIX. NOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ITS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE IF YOUR DOING THIS, IF YOU ARE, THEN PROCEED, IF YOUR REALLY WANT TO BREATH NEW LIFE IN YOUR IPHONE 3G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get it over on the whited00r website here: and install it by putting your phone in dfu mode, by using the pc program known as ireb and follow the directions as its coaches you into dfu mode. (phone must be connected to computer so that ireb can let you know you did it correctly) then opening up itunes while your phone is connected via usb cable in dfu mode. the first thing you should is the area where it asks to either update or check for updates. click on update while holding left shift. look for where the .ipsw is located and open it. sit back as it installs for the most part to avoid errors, ensure that your usb port is working properly. usb 3.0 port is recommended. turn off your antivirus software on your pc during all of this it is recommended that you use the official apple usb cord that came inbox with every iphone 3g.

  • yes you can, just a really old version and even then it doesn't work when verifying your number. just get the .ipa file of said old version of whatsapp and find a way to install, i recommend using ifunbox on the pc

  • After my Motorola Razr broke back in 2011 & my HTC Wildfire had become too intolerable & stubborn (2014), I decided to use this iPhone 3G that my family had that was just sitting around in the corner. Considering how outdated this phone is, I originally thought this phone would be useless other than to make calls and basic texting. But when I got to using it extensively, I actually figured out you can actually do a bit more with it. Now I'm actually using it to watch YouTube & downloaded videos, and doing some online research, I figured out that some simple apps actually still works on it and best of all, I figured out that the Line App that I always use to connect with my family is actually compatible with this due to the "Last compatible version" Apple has going for their older phones. As a personal touch, the Emoji app falls under that category as well. Bottom line, sure, there's a few downsides to this phone, like how this phone is kinda slow when compared to other phones, many apps isn't supported on this device, and the HD isn't really much. But even then, since I'm actually still loving this phone, I think I'm gonna make this phone my main phone for a while until I find a new phone later on.

  • You don't take the back off to replace the sim. There is a small hole on top next to the sim tray. Use a clip to push down this hole and the sim tray will pop out

But even if you, like me, do not like Apple we must agree: 1) I have one iPhone 3G and its battery work as fine as brand new (even for a phone with almost 7/8 years old) 2) Retina screen is way better (unfortunatelly) than Android screen (and I do have a Razr HD) 3) Its quality is (unfortunattely again for Android lovers like me) far better. My iPhone is white and still white as new and my wife had a Galaxy Tab 2 white with gray stain all over. Today, even you can find one iPhone 3G for sale, run from it, you cannot install nothing in iOs 4.2.1 and its not updatable. If you have one with whatsapp, viber, skype installed, seel for no price at all (or at least for a price that enable you to buy a brand new iPhone 4S or above) :-D

  • A good piece of tech. Still works quite well with new networks (at least where I live). The only problem is that it is no longer updated, and it's nigh impossible to find apps within the App Store that are still compatible with iOS below 5 (the maximum for 3G is iOS 4.2.1, it cannot be upgraded any further). If jailbroken, however, the apps are abundant and the phone becomes even more useful. It's tough to break (although there are a few weak points: the battery connector, the vibrator connector and the infamous mute switch), and the protective glass really does its job (I had to swap it out once, but that was after a deliberate throw). The battery is theoretically non-removable, but with some basic manual ability and a size PH00 (or thereabouts) Phillips screwdriver it's practically a cinch (around 45 minutes to an hour for the first time, about 30 minutes in subsequent attempts). Pros: strong, reliable. Some hacking potential. With the right software useful as a network diagnostic tool as well. Battery replacements are cheap and abundant, too. Cons: the battery tends to get weaker with time, and does require replacing within about 24-30 months. Also, the iPhone won't properly work with just any USB charger - the DATA+ and DATA- pins need to be set to specific voltage levels for the phone to even attempt charging. A voltage divider network does the job though, making it a viable option 'on the cheap' (and it can be incorporated into the cable, too). In general, it's a good piece of tech. Don't throw it away, if you don't have to.

  • haha, we all know this , its not a secret, this phone was made in 2008 so cant get the latest updates and for the age still rocks and looks great..

  • This is not much different to the original with the very small battery, small screen and rubbish camera. It is stronger than the older I phone it can survive getting knocked onto concrete from ear height dropping on the back or sides. I however wouldn't trust the screen. If you have the first I phone this isn't really worth the couple hundred extra pounds spent on this upgrade.

  • I upgraded mine to 4.2.1 and interface was a little bit clear, then if you want to have any cool apps you will need iOS 4 or higher, and about speed it lags a little of course but if you be patient you will need to wait 2-3 seconds to open up an app, but personally I am going to downgrade to 3.1.2 again. iOS 3 is faster on 3G so I recommend you to stay on iOS 3, but again if you want to enjoy your iPhone then upgrade to 4.2.1

Instead, hook phone to iTunes and do full backup and re-install with new SIM card in device.   • Hello Abdul, the problem happens coz u might haven't synced ur phone properly via iTunes. To get over this just install some random apps with smaller size (lesser than 1mb) via apple store on ur phone. Once installed This will correct your apps DB as well as you can access your old apps too, once is your phone is working right sync/back it up on your iTunes :-)

  • well then if you cant connect it to your pc you have a big problem my friend with out the pc connection you cant do anything. if you know anyone that has an iphone ask them to lend you there usb cable and see if it works. but if you can charge you phone its not your usb fauld it might be you pc chance the usb connection port on your pc and see if it works

Before you buy, be sure to check it carefully Check the edges of the screen whether it's been opened or not, check the sim card slot/the back/and software for the matched IMEI. Try tapping or slide the springboard to check the smoothnees, run a few apps to check the speed. Turn on bluetooh/wifi to test it out, play some music to test speaker, plug in the headphone jack to test it. Turn on the camera, take your finger to cover up the camera and snap a photo (The reason is to take a photo that really dark), then open it to check whether there are some dot/ stripe on the screen. DONE!

  • I use my iphone constantly and found out that however you reduce your brightness etc. it did not really help. I bought an external back up battery fron ebay and this has cured my problems giving me almost 3 times my original battery life, you can leave it connected to your phone and still charge and connect to itunes as normal, plus it was cheaper than having a high capacity battery fitted. Give it a try.

  • Hi suresh, for your case only one thing is possible.. before you copy 2 new ringtones, take a backup of all existing ringtones to your personal computer and once done with 2 new ringtones u can copay back the existing ringtones from computer to your phone easily. hope this helps you..

  • I had similar problem a while back with my old 3G heating up so much it burned my hand and the battery running flat after barely 2 hours. Just by chance I figured out the problem worsened with the WLAN/WIFI switched on, but disappeared completely when the SIM card was removed. I got a tip from an iphone forum to do a "hard reset" and a network reset. It worked like a dream, and the 3G's been running flawlessly, now averages 30 hours of battery life between charges even with heavy use.

  • Hi Friends Recently, I have updated Apple iPhone3G from 3.0 to 4.2.1 firmware upgrade and baseband updated to 06.15.00 First Jailbroken the Tethered OS and Unlocked. The following link wil explains the detailed steps. I have followed the steps as per the above link instructs. After the above steps, we need to unlock the device(to work for any SIM). this can be done using Wi-Fi which is shown in the link . But without Wi-Fi also, we can do it. But remember, u need to run that tool on WinXP only, and need to restart the phone twice. First restart to install the ultrasn0w and second restart to update the phone. Thats it..   • Connect phone to pc via usb cable it will appear as camera in my computer you will find all images in the camera folder you can then save them to computer
