Nokia 2.2 - User Reviews

  • 48 hours

  • Pls. How minutes, hours, days does the battery of nok. 2.2 last,?

  • how do you do that

  • That is strange. Usually all models of Nokia have the Nokia branding on the front somewhere, latest notched phones on the chin... I don't know if you have a fake unit or that it is something regional, I never heard of it to be honest. From where did you purchased the device?

  • October security update available, is it just me, coz I think d phone is a little bit fast after d updatd. Any else experience diz?

  • very best mobile Nokia 2.2 i am using....

  • My Nokia 2.2 doesn't have Nokia logo written on d chin, does dat mean I've got a fake unit or is it a regional tin, plz n need help guyz

  • It's beautiful but the back cover comes off easily on top of that, the camera is horribly slow...😣

  • Try Android one - i think it's size is smaller than normal Android

  • Ignore what others are saying about this phone,it's really a cheap ,cool phone dat performs averagely, got it about a week ago n is still going strong, update it immediately to enjoy Smith performance after getting one, plus two year android update

  • Dual sim

  • I bought this phone as a cheap back up phone for those of you who is considering to get this as their primary phone just stay away i returned it and got 3.2 It is better to add a lit more budget and get 3.2 its a far better phone with a better display and faster performance.

  • It's ok .. loud enough for me

  • Hey, how's the sound quality of this phone?

  • I know has AOD too so handy for notifications. I get 2 day battery. pure android.

  • Low space & very slow not user friendly While call mute & hold the call so crazy.

  • Yeh just adopt sd as storage ezy

  • Battery 2 days pretty gud

  • And what about SD card? It is possible to format card as a internal storage?

  • This phone used OS 67% from 16 GB storage. 9.6 gb used os

  • This phone used OS 67% from 16 GB storage.

  • The camera is quite impressive for a phone of 99 euro. I just watched the video about it from mrwhostheboss on youtube and it turns out to be very much alright for this price, in fact more than alright. Impressive.

  • is veery beautiful

  • AOD is cool can't live without it, not bad really for a budget phone does everything I need. Better then Nokia 1. Battery good feels nice in hand 50 pounds can't go Rong

  • just take a scissors and cut the plastic around contacts of your McroSIM and you'll get a nanoSIM....done. Let me google it for you: "how to make a nano sim"... ;)

  • If Nokia did what they did with the first Nokia 3 post turning it into a turd with Oreo, the SD card could have stores so many of the apps but no they went full turd!

  • Right can't believe made 16gb lol... 32 standard these days

  • I keep finding inconsistencies with the spec in different reviews/ads. Is the 32GB (Internal) version available or not? Is the SIM Micro/Nano? Having never even seen a Nano SIM card I assume its a smaller type. If I need one of those instead of my MicroSIM, does it mean I lose my phone number or can I get it transferred to the newer SIM (I use Vodaphone PAYG in the UK but need a unlocked phone because I travel abroad and often use local SIMS if it cost effective to do so) - Try asking this lot to a ChatBot !!

  • It's 4 core

  • Does it support front camera video in apps like instagram, snapchat, facebook video call and whatsapp video call??

  • The 1sim is under the card slot on the left and the 2nd is in the right side

  • Under the SD card.

  • Qued core

  • No it is quadcore A22

  • How is the battery

  • According to antutu benchmarks it's a quad-core CPU

  • Very good budged phone,,perfomance is fluid

  • it is MediaTek 6761 Octacore

  • Can anybody confirm, its a quad core or Octa Core? Whats the ranking in Benchmark? Please confirm. Thanks,

  • I just acquired this Nokia 2.2, I thought it has.two SIM slots, somebody help me discover the second.slot pls...

  • Is wifi-calling / VoWiFi working in Switzerland?

  • I got notifiedand install security patch for avgust 2019,phone works perfectly fine 2/16 version i have it since 19th avgust

  • Yes both are using 4g

  • 1. Bought the 2.2 (for 89 chf in CH)because a have a triple Ulefone-Misery. Better forgetting Ulefone altogether. 2. Wanted to charge the 2.2 but i couldnt. No instructions what to do! Mini-instructions-booklet which does not contain the minimum. read later down. If was surprised to see the "integrated" battery outside. Did they forget to mount? Then i measured the body 109g is not the value a normal 2.2 has 154g. Googled and found out battery is removable. Since my Ulefone 3S is already installed i streamed my data from it. Why not? Android told me to do. After using my cam-app)Opencamera Remote(highly recommended) my Nokia didnt react anymore. touchscreen NADA. hardware reset(NADA) i could press the buttons but nothing what told me next step of resetting on screen. I consulted tips, nothing helped. Startscreen not visible. Then after a drop onto carpet the device was revived. could see the startscreen with my apps(they are called widgets isnt it?). but navigating(NADA). Its telling: couldn load all widgets. Next step would be a software-reset. But where do i get informations? its doesnt help to know how flashing and driver-installation is done. I MUST UNDERSTAND WHAT WILL GO ONE. With their Nokia 2.2 (2/16) NOKIA is going to Selfsucide! ARE YOU CRAZY OR ONLY STUPID? Teh Ulefone-Misery is another story. short: On my latest Ulefone 3s which is wonderfully working(thats what we need from Nokia but with replaceable battery) i dropped it twice at home onto carpet. it was never outdoors. nothing badly happened. but a few weeks later these days i had the screen in my hands. still connected. maybe it was good they didnt glue it properly otherwise it could have been damaged. its now taped.

  • Agree they released here 16gb version?. when in other country 32GB version 3gig ram. why???? Just release same everywhere. 16GB like 8GB fills up quick then slows down. Leaves you importing one which is ridiculous.

  • Is that two sim slots use 4G connestion or only 1st one?

  • I discovered my Nokia 2.2 comes with 75.4M June security patch update size. I have been unable to install it after the download. Has anyone experienced this too?

  • Doesnt explain why the Nokia 6, 5, 7 Plus, 9 PureView and other Nokia phones being durable. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Note 7, Mi 5, 3 Pro didnt survive.

  • This isnt Xiaomis business model. Now get your fanboyism out.

  • Just bought Nokia 2.2 yesterday, I was unable to to install security patch on it. Does anyone experience the same?

  • this phone is compact, fast, and beauty

  • I'm about to buy the phone o. Do you have memory card? What if you install your apps initially on the SD? Don't you think the prob you're complaining of cld be over

  • The fact that Nokia still sell 16Gb phones show how out of touch it is with user needs. A 16Gb ROM is just not enough, resulting in mega buyers remorse and cause a very bad user experience. The people that bought this phone was hard up for money in the first place, meaning these companies take advantage of the poor and naive. Worse is that Nokia is only offering the 16Gb in certain markets like South Africa with no 32Gb option. Nokia, really shame on you, you are a really dumb company.

  • Dont make the same mistake I made with this phone. It comes out of the box with 10GB out of the 16 already used by android and useless bloatware. After I installed a few apps the storage is completely full. And its not possible to move them to the sd-card. As soon as it gets any big update it will be completely useless Seriously, I didnt even installed half the apps I had in my old redmi 3.

  • Yes, almost no phone nowadays has a user removable battery. Especially for the low end phones which are not IP rated, that's a nice thing to have I think.

  • who the hell are you to say that? samsung is more boring

  • Removable battery? That's almost unheard of these days.

  • My nokia 2.2 has wifi authentication problem, sometimes its not connect automatically, and has mobile network signal issue

  • Go for the Nokia, much better software support.

  • Nokia 2.2 had a 83.4 cmsquare screen and Nokia 2.1 has 81.4 cmsquare screen. Now you calculate which one is larger. Yet the 2.2 had a smaller battery, am oddly taller but to mmuch narrow screen

  • Nokia 2.2 and Huawei y5 2019 are very similar. which is better?

  • Nokia 2.2 and Huawei y5 2019 are very similar. which is better?

  • Quite fast and SD can be used as internal storage for apps. 2Gb/ 16Gb

  • You need to activate developer options to install apps on SD:

  • To install apps on SD card you need to activate developer mode/options by clicking it 5 times. From then on apps will automatically install to SD. Apps already installed can be moved to SD if the app allows it.

  • Really no surprise there who buys 16gb apps are big, 32 is the new 16

  • The micro sd slot is on the left side on top of the SIM card slot.

  • For the life of me I can't insert an SD card, can't find the slot. Also for music it says I have to deactive some of 10 programmes but clicking on the "deactivate key" doesn't deactivate anything. Any answers please???

  • It doesn't solve nothing, you can't use the SD card as internal storage evening you format it as internal storage. It's actually useless based on the memory because just like so many buyers I was of the opinion that it can be expanded

  • If you haven't bought this phone, please don't. My memory is full and I cannot install apps anymore, there is an option to format as card as internal storage but after that it doesn't allow you to move any app and all download goes into the phones internal storage, with 10gb out of 16 already taken by system apps which I don't want or need and cannot remove. Fucking regretting why I chose to buy this piece of shit

  • I love mine [2]

  • Hey! The Nokia 2.2 has what is usually referred to as a 'teardrop' camera, which is widely recognised as a cheap better solution to a notch. It is largely unintrusive on phone experience. It also has a larger screen than the 2.1, and a higher aspect ratio.

  • this one has a fugking notch, a mediatek SoC instead of SD, a smaller, narrow screen, a smaller battery compared to Nokia 2.1. this could be Nokia 1.1, not 2.2

  • Why do you say that? I love mine

  • Lots of people do because it also has expandable memory via sd card

  • this is a WTF phone and degradation from the predecessor

  • It has proximity sensor and it is working properly - the screen is turned off when calling...

  • Well that's because 2gb ram varient, all should be 3gig ram in 2019 with 32GB storage. Who buys 16gb anymore???.

  • Should have the 32GB /3gig ram , 16 to low.

  • Battery is model number HQ510-no sign of any online sellers for the removable battery in case you need spares, though I’d think Nokia service centres could have them. In Australia, the 2.2 we get is TA-1191, single-SIM (2G RAM/16GB) and for $199 in my country, not a bad phone!

  • The phone is actually smart, but it has no proximity sensor, why?

  • I have the 3/32GB variant and to answer some questions below: - no, it has no compass - high usage for a whole day on a sigle charge is possible - the system is quite smooth, but the face recognition takes few seconds so it is unusable - it is Android One, but so far the last security patch is May 5 2019 - yes, removable battery, but currently cannot find where to buy any

  • Hello Nokia company! Give the 2.2 video play full screen horizontal. Other Samsung A10 same like budget smart 4n completed this point. Look Nokia

  • Fortunately, this cellphone HAS a removable battery. Lets hope this will become a trend, as it should be.

  • So you're expecting flagship specs on a low-end, cheap phone ? This is next-level genius

  • W or W/O compass?

  • Display under 6.5 inch, battery under 4500 mAh, not full screen display

  • is this an A/B or A device?

  • anyone say battery backup

  • Good Phone best performance and specs

  • Oh Thats Cool...Must Try This..Can Anyone Say About This Product Littlebiy Briefly???

  • Remember that Xiaomi makes money with the information with the use of the phone made by their owners. That allows them to sell cheaper. Privacy has a price.

  • microSD, headphone jack and a removable battery? Seems to me that low budget phones really do have more to offer than flagship products

  • face unlock not working properly, other wise it is perfomance is best.

  • Am in Kenya and I bought these phone .it performs nice but problem come s in simcard tool kit I can't access the safaricom

  • We are in 2019 and you still think gorilla glass does not crack? Or that other devices have better gorilla glass?. People this days.

  • I don't think you know what you are saying when you said Android one makes the performance slow......go and check your fact

  • No compass ?

  • Is the battery good? Can it make 13hours of medium usage on a single charge??

  • -_- Android One gives low performance? Are you in your senses? It's built to be as close to Pure Android as possible. Which means it's not burdened by useless tasks like MIUI, EMUI, Color OS, which allows it to provide best performance and battery possible. Android One is the best thing that happened in history of Android OS.

  • The Best thing in this cell phone is removable battery with 32 GB and 3 GB RAM with accurate, best and perfect price. Only little bit issue is in their plastic Quality and low class Glass Quality and Android ONE, due to which performance is very very low and also enhance the WiFi like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot in similar or with low price

  • Overall it's good...but the screen quality is pathetic. The thing just cracked up into pieces with a small collision. Gorilla glass my a**

  • Yes, and 3mm is much better than 7mm. Why aren't they making EUR 100 phones that are 3mm thick with 7000mAh battery? Everything in the world is wrong.

  • Which recently announced phone of 100 euro is 7mm thick?

  • What makes me laugh is my sister has bought one the 2gb variant, I had to set it all up for her and it's terrible, it's full of lag so examples I have encountered when entering pin to unlock phone then going to slide menu up the icons are blurry and take a second to clear never ever experienced that on a phone, social media app's such as Facebook lag really bad, also last thing I have noticed is a lag in camera when moving camera it stutters and a second delay in taking photo. Whilst I do welcome the return of being able to replace back panels and swap battery out that I think is a good thing, and the handset is very light and looks ok that is all I can really say about it. I have a Meizu C9 here to compare with 2gb and a Unisoc SC9832E and it pee's all over this thing.

  • Just bought it for roughly 85 euros in Nigeria. The 2gb variant though.

  • So you want a 6-7mm fragile plastic piece of crap that will bend like the iPhone 6?

  • Not sure why price says about €90 EUR. It's around €120-130 actually.

  • It's nice to see that the Nokia 2.2 brings back the removable battery, I'm a big fan of that! Now if only they would actually release this smartphone in Australia...

  • This phone is the true modern Nokia 3310. Affordable price, nice build quality and reasonable specs

  • all light conditions unlock face??

  • Nani?!! O3O

  • A micro-sd card will solve that, which this phone has a slot for.

  • Better if 7mm thick not 9 chunky monkey

  • If it's 32gb not 16gb, in this age apps update . Need 32-64

  • Yes! Very happy Nokia is bringing this phone to US. At $139, it will be one of the best budget phones for the price. Compared to Moto G7 Play, this phone has 1GB more ram, a MUCH smaller notch, Android One, a removable battery, and is about $60 cheaper! On the other hand, the G7 Play has a much better processor, and the Nokia 2.2 is rather thick for some reason. Regardless, this phone has a lot of bang for your buck, imo. (For those of you in the US, you can pre-order it from BestBuy) Cheers!

  • You are right

  • Nokia 3.2 with Internal Memory 32 GB have Fingerprint sensor. Nokia 3.2 with Internal Memory 16 GB DO NOT have Fingerprint sensor.

  • Nokia is clean androidgo compared to xiaomi buggy miui on regular android. Go apps will be smaller & less featured compared to regular means less data intensive and less intrusive.

  • Is this phone can remove apps to sd card?

  • A lot of phones have fingerprint scanner at this price

  • With this price tag? Be reasonable. Just need fast charge

  • Why did HMD/Nokia omit the finger print, & the selfie 📷 camera is just poor...?! At that price if it has the finger prints, & 8MP (wide) I don't think it will be out of place...

  • more body screen ratio with this price plzzzzz why there is nokia logo at bottom of the phone -_- edges are ok =) and specs are good i like it nokia go on as like this...

  • no fingerprint??

  • Indeed it's a great phone, bit it's a lot cheaper than 150 dollar, i.e. only 90 euro... that makes it even better

  • I don't understand you. I was talking about how bad Xiaomi is. I don't have a Xiaomi and I'll never get one. The 2.2 is a great phone ofc.

  • $50 max????? This is way better than the Redmi Go.

  • But this is a plastic phone, HMD can't bring own phones to all market even in Europe, 3.2, 4.2.. also Xiaomi made like 50 other, new phones, from Note 3 and 2016 days, even androidone phones, wirh better build, better soc, better screan (at keast is not TFT), than those 3.2, 4.2 with similar fir some reasin, price. This 2.2 sould be 50$ max with spec, build and thickness.

  • Good to grip, try it I'm over big huge phones.

  • Who cares about Redmi rubbish, this Android one, compact reminiscent Lumia days. And cheap price tag. 32gb. And AOD . Go away with your Redmi, great phone 2.2 for $150

  • Redmi 7 Series Sucks ... It has Audio distortion issue which MI could not find a fix till date..

  • look at the price range man

  • The camera and video recording is from 2013

  • A 2019 phone with specs from 2015. Might as well just get rid of the whole bezel-less design too.

  • Xiaomi can't make rigid phones in the mid-range to entry-level market, including some high-end phones, e.g. Mi5, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 3.

  • Removable Battery...

  • Redmi 3s, 2016, way smaller phone, 4100mah, 8.5mm Redmi 7, way better phone (wirh better processor), 2019, same price, 4000mah, 8.5.. Redmi 5 Plus, Note 5, 4000mah battery, 8.1, Note 7 also.. This phone is just to thick (similar to Redmi 7a), but even 7a have better (439) processor, and 80$/70 euros price tag. HMD never learn

  • This is a budget phone. It can't have IP68. if you want a phone on the budget side, then go for something else. this is not the Nokia 3310.

  • The Redmi Note 4 set itself on fire numerous times.

  • What do you want for 90 euro? 6mm with IP68?

  • But has better reliability and less defects

  • It's because battery and back cover can be exchanged.

  • 9.3mm thickness, give me a break. So 2013!!

  • 4000mAh battery...

  • Xiaomi's have always had bad build quality, forget the materials used.

  • No they don't. Xiaomi have the least reliable and most flexible numbers.

  • I can advice the Nokia 5.1 Plus as well, which is also not very expensive, around 150 euro.

  • only 100usd? almost like bangladesh!

  • it's fine for Iran bcoz the typical salary is only 100$ per month! Thank you Nokia :) Huawei and Nokia both are popular in Iran.

  • I have 400€ budget but im probably going to get this over something more expensive as I dont play games on phones that much and I dont some Chinese DogeXeloo phone what won't get any updates. Perhaps 4.2 but this one has removable battely etc... we'll after reviews arrive.

  • After june 30th price of this will be 8599INR for 2GB/16GB and 9599INR for 3GB/32GB model

  • Search for loose charging connector

  • Review battery life??

  • Should have IP68 rating :D

  • Iphone 3G killer!

  • LoL, Nokia has never gone down in quality and durability

  • Oh god this give me hardcore nostalgia for the Galaxy S2 days

  • No it's not LCD better, and aod only uses like %1 every few hours

  • The budget budget pixel 3a

  • Correct, removable battery and exchangable back covers like the Nokia 1 and Nokia 1 Plus.

  • what a statement. just compare and think a bit.

  • this phone has removable battery

  • where are sensors like compass & gyro ?!

  • Always-on display and IPS LCD screen !! how? battery drain should be so fast. and average life time of lcd is shorter than other smart phone

  • Wasn't Nokia supposed to launch two phones?

  • If you didn't know nokia has worse quality control than xiaomi.

  • absolutely false, I don't know if you ever have a Xiaomi phone before but they are cheap and they have great quality, I have mine for more than 1 year and it works perfect, is not the phone problem if you not how to take care of it

  • Could do with 64Gb storage, that would make it a deal breaker!

  • Problem for you not for is

  • Ohh man go buy cheap redmi phones they have no quality. Dont compare Nokia quality with redmi. If you like buy redmi phones it will be really best phones for you.

  • I will Nokia 2.2 because My GPA in college is 2.2

  • Mtk?...... It should been qualcomm, the package would have been better.its always easier to root a qualcom device than an mtkB-)

  • the 2.1 has stereo front facing speakers.Which were not only loud but also good in quality. Now I'm not sure why they decided not to put this feature in this one.Still, i dont think its a deal breaker.

  • no nfc..mehh

  • Fast charge? I knew mediatek chip support since lenovo P70

  • I think Nokia company is mad nao. Nokia company learning something about Samsung, Oppo, vivo, redmi.....

  • I really want one.

  • Quad with A22 and PVR will do fine, if it's Octa then it will suck

  • A22 is not good, quad core processor, even for low end devices in 2019. Redmi 6a, one year old model (with same spec, just lower price) is the best example. :/

  • Yeah, 2019 flagship specs (like Zenfone 6, Reno series, Red Magic, A80 etc)

  • Yes I do, I'm a customer. What's the problem?

  • nokia a brand that i believe ....and last 17 years of my nokia ...but nokia 2.2 will be a bestest latest updated pure andriod .....

  • Has facedetecton..

  • redmi7 & redmi7a almost same price with better specs

  • yes

  • Just buy a phone with bigger battery. Or stop playing games on the phone all day long.

  • too bad it only has 3000mAh battery, would it have 4000mAh battery then would buy. right now, what to do with phone what does not last full day screen on usage?

  • I bet you have no idea how hardware works. In fact, i do not bet,i know.

  • thanks for the info.

  • Is it having dedicated micro SD Slot or a hybrid one?

  • removable battery wicked, miss hotswapping!

  • Whats so good about USB C i have it, so what you have 1 way of plugging in a charger 1st world issues lol......rest specs is good 3 gig ram , etc

  • says non removable.

  • Nice phone but still micro USB port , mediatek chipset ....I'd go anyway for the Moto G7 play even without Android one...

  • Always-on display and IPS LCD screen? The battery will drain fast.

  • nokia will never come bavk ever ever very expensive phone with low specs and worst marketing over the world i dont know what they think with this ugly phone big bizzel quadcore in 2019 they are serious !!!!

  • It has a removable battery and back cover and what I've seen on video is that the phone has a Sim slot on one side and a SD slot on the other side. So I assume if there's a dual SIM variant there will be two Sim slots and a separate SD slot.

  • Is it having dedicated micro SD Slot or a hybrid one?

  • For a €100 phone, this is way better than the competion in every way

  • garbage, i bet playing spotify will lag hard lol

  • All plastic. Back cover and battery can be replaced. It has a soft curve on the back, but sharp on the front, sort of like Nokia 1. But at this ~EUR 100 you cannot expect too much.

  • The battery is removable and you can replace or change the back covers, another big plus.

  • Entry level phone, fair price. Good job Nokia.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is cheaper and has 2160p video recording. I see no reason to get this phone if you're going to use it for video recording.

  • I like this one!

  • this phone have two rival sd632+4000mah sd439+4000mah

  • i thought they would install a bigger battery upto 4500mah right from 4100mah from nokia 2 and 2.1, but instead they downgraded to 3000mah, with this time with powerful specs, a shame for entire nokia 2 series for what nokia 2 series is known for, its battery pack.

  • Yo men its a 90dollar budget phone Not a flagship or mid-ranger What do u want USB C and 5000mha battery and Oled screen for 90$ ??

  • 9.3mm in 2019 LOL

  • sad that it didnt carry the 4000mah battery like the nokia 2.1 smt

  • What a great phone for the price.

  • When this comes to Indian market? Whether it has gorilla glass protection

  • This one has high chances to upset the market. With 12nm SoC, 3000 mAh battery and Android One software, it's going to be a great performer. Design and build seems absolutely as per Nokia legacy, classy and sturdy, standing out of crowd. Only tough competitor would be Redmi 7a,which offers an octa core SoC and price less than 2.2.

  • thickkk phonne !

  • Micro USB, welcome back 2005.

  • I think this a good phone

  • It looks alright, and I suppose it will be relatively cheap, EUR 100-150. Too bad it's just another pocket-tablet at 70mm width. I wish there would for once be a ~60mm wide Android phone that fits in your pocket.

  • Wow, quite a jump, from 1gb to 2 or 3

  • Man, type-c and fingerprint and I'd be all over this. Oh well.

  • Nokia should make low price tag to budget and mid ranger phones, so then can compete with Xiaomi, Samsung and other brands.
