I've had my Nokia 3500 8-9 yrs and it still works quite well....It shuts down at times but never during a call(in pocket)which can be annoying @ times..Some static on headphones but all in all it has really held up great for its age.

I have used Nokia 3500 almost 5 years..And it was marvellous when it came to relying on it. Best fone of it's kind. Never say Die attitude. Even the people around were amazed by the durability of it.it survived fall of 100 mtr height, got dropped in water,it fell thousands of times from my hands, It still came out strong. I still miss it. Hats off to fone of such kind. Outstanding.

Its an amazing phone i used since 2009. It is solid and strong. Faced many miseries of being in water, fell on land, virus, data loss once. But finally it survived like anything. Its one of the best phones I have and love it the most. Recent issues are bluetooth problem and network detection. But still I think 4 yrs for a mobile is itself an achievement. :)

Nokia 3500 is wonderfull phone. Its supporting java and nexg tv with top apps. Its supporting 2g. But no slow. 2g maximum speed giving this mobile. A good camara supported this phone. Not hd camara. 2mp camara suportted. Then almost this phone good.

My mother has this phone since all these years. She loves her phone very much and also texts through it. Doesnt want new phone. Its a pink, with the rubbery laminate ruined at the back cover. It is nokia 3110c with a good design and better camera. And inbuilt memory is slightly higher than 3110, but you cannot delete the unwanted nokia video and some crazy yahoo app. Otherwise its a good phone she says. By the way, is anyone else facing some wierd problem with signals? Receiving calls not great quality? Or its a network problem she faces. Whatever, over all she likes her phone.

Had this phone since '08 but stopped using it cause the silver lining case had come off and it injured my hands. Been using it since 24.12.2007, still using it, and I plan to continue using it for quite some time.. Still using all original parts (even the battery), some bruising here and there, navigation button came off, the chrome thingy came out a bit but fixed them with glue. Never had to do major repairs on the phone. Well, it's still just working fine after 4 years.. Love this phone :)

Hi friends, please help me. I have been using Classic 3500 for over 3 years without any problem. Lately, I purchased a BSNL SIM and inserted in it. Strangely, it stopped outgoing calls, but received the incoming call. When I tried the SIM with another handset, it worked perfectly. Then I inserted the SIM into Classic again and set the handset to its factory setting. Now the phone started working normally. But, when I clicked on BSNL's 'my portal' option and then, by mistake, 'delete service' option, it stopped all the numbers that are dialed to access BSNL services, such as, getting balance by *123#, or contacting customer care on 1503. Then, again I clicked on 'My Portal' and 'Start Service'. Here, I received a message from BSNL 'your service is started, please switch off your phone and re-start...' I did accordingly. After switching off the phone it now refuses to switch on. It is dead. Removed the battery and re-inserted after about 60 seconds; also inserted another SIM (of Idea), but nothing works. Battery is full. Is there anything I can do on my own before taking it the service center ?

I've had this phone for more than three years now. The parts have all lasted, never needing repair (speaker, screen, keypad, etc.) and the battery has never had a problem keeping a charge. The were problems with it. For starters, it's an S40 Java phone which means precious few applications were ever made for it, and it's incompatible with S60 Java apps or the 3G system. Also, the music player was a piece of crap, never reading directories properly or playing files in any sense of order. File playback seemed random, and the manual was useless for figuring it out. I've used the phone continuously for three years but am shopping for a new one instead. The reason: the phone repeatedly shuts off, at least once per day, and it's not because of the battery. It seems that any fast movement or jarring will cause it to shut off. It's given me good service, but now it's on its last legs. One note on "classic" phones: "Classics" are made with older technology, something I knew when I bought it. Older hardware and software means it's been tested and debugged, not error prone like the lastest technology. If you're willing to give up new features in favour of reliability, then Nokia "classics" are worth a look.

Thats very right i must agree with Roney. The earphone socket is just too bad and stops working just after about 3 months. And that has happened with my friend and an aunt as well. So yeah, thats the set back. Alsoo, after a while, um about 2 years, whenever u swtich it off, it takes about a millionn years to open up again. Irritating that is. -.-

I`m using it 3 years now! Very hard to destroy phone :) Good points: very solid set, descent camera (2Mp), memory card sloth, fm radio, mp3 player, bluetooth, great battery life. Bad points: basic screen, small amount of RAM (cannot open text and pdf files bigger then 300KB with my installed java apps) I recommend to install the latest firmware from nokia v7.21 - it improves dramatically the overall performance of the phone and adds some minor new features.

buyed since then 3 years ago one this phone. Y have very various opinion against this model from Nokia. The battery failed after 1.5 year, battery stickness and push down and broken the battery hood plastics clamps.And for this suffered all the phone skid.In the other side the camera make good picture only outside , in the natural light. Indoor pictures isn't clair. The video recorder is not too high fidelity too. I've been using this phone for 3 years now. 2011 is the fourth year. I'm planning to upgrade soon so I might as well tell you my opinion on it. The camera is good, but over time it somehow doesn't let me take any more pics even though there is space in my memory card. The rubbery layer on the back peels off over time... And sometimes it couldn't read my memory card. I've been using it heavily and dropping it a LOT of times but it still usable so its a very sturdy phone But the good part is the music is LOUD and really good, headphones amazing, recording good. fast typing is fine. Overall, wonderful phone for first-time people.

to the person who complained that he/she is not able to hear wat the other person is saying. my frnd, there is a strong possibility that dirt would have got accumulated on the ear phone. in that case, with the help of a small safety pin gently try to remove the dirt and you phone would be fine. if not his case then i guess you should take your phone to the nearest nokia service station and check for the ear phone.

Camera does not live up to its 2MP specification. Small screen. Requires frequent software update. Poor phone browser. It's a great phone...excellent...I've had it for 2 years and everything works brilliantly. The camera it's very good, the metal bracket has both decorative function and also protects the screen from scratching. The headphones are bloody great :P....I have never heard a louder noise. If u have some music player problems, u have only to do, move all the songs in a folder, and other files must move in another folder. Now just switched off the phone. Switch on after a few min, then go to music player, then option, click on music library, now update it (last option)...

I've owned a Nokia 3500 classic for nearly two years now and overall I would say it's a good handset. It's been quite reliable despite being dropped on numerous occasions being used in fine rain (drizzle). My only issues are that it would sometimes switch itself off in very hot weather and that it has a tiny internal memory (8MB). Besides those complaints I'd say it's one of the best phones I've ever owned. It's easy to use, compact, light and has a decent screen and camera. 7/10.

Its earphone connection socket is very low quality, and even with a slide touch to the earphone cord while keeping it in the pocket or holding it causes the player/radio to stop. So i would keep it always connected to the charger, and using gprs along with it , and soon end up with a very hot phone it my hands. But in the end it just keeps on going.....

The camera quality is low and tend to reboot occasionaly when performing. The iron seal falls off with the nylon-polymer coating which makes the phone untidy after 6 month of usage. Though it looks charming at first sight.

the first day i bought it , it just fell from my moving vehicle in the highway yet it worked fine so its strong built. music its fine, howeva after few months scratch free thing on the body of the moblile slowly comes out making it look pathetic.

This phone is awesome.. Everything rocks about this phone..... I am using it since last 14 months and it hasn't given a single problem till date... I am using 2gb micro sd card which is totally full and this phone hasn't slowed down even a single bit.... I use nokia music express' headphone and the sound is awesome.. It is much better than those overhyped sound clarity of erriccson phones... U just need good quality headphones..... Believe it.... Whenever we party i just plugin my 3500 classic into the amplifier and the sound is great.... So my thumbs up for this one...

I have had the 3500 for a month now, and I ended up with a thumb joint inflamation! Keys and central cursor key are TOO darn HARD! Who ever designed the springs in this phone? If it were not for that, this would be a good piece of machinery for its $$ value.

This Phone is OK if your not using much your cellphone.. Ive been using it for like 6 months and i changed it twice... Theres a few problem with music player and putting music on.. the USB crashes alot for me.. When your msg box is full there are problems that appear.. I give it a 7/10 for the style 6/10 for the use if ur not using alot ur cell ( 60 % using) and if u need a gooood cellphone that you want to do alot with.. this aint the right one.. Just my .02 cents..

NOBODY is succeeding to make this function work, although Nokia advertises it as one of the strengths of the 3500. Let's be honest: Nokia knows there is a problem between the 3500 and their software suite. And Nokia doesn't give a damn. So if you want a phone that works with your PC, absolutely, positively, buy someone else's brand.

Well, I just bought this phone despite all of the bad reviews. Have had it for just under a week. I have never been too interested in cell phones, I find they rob me of my freedom, but In this day and age I suppose everyone needs one! Do I love this phone? No. Would I recommend this phone? Maybe. The deciding factor for me when purchasing this phone was ease of use, cost and appearance. I bought this phone for around $100.00 brand new. Seeing as I don't really care for cell phones too much, the price was very reasonable. It is a simple looking phone which is exactly what I was looking for and it gets the job done. I don't really use any of the features that other people have discussed in their posts. I just wanted a phone that was easy to place a call with. Having built in FM radio is rather nice as I commute on public transit for about 2 hours a day. The battery life seems acceptable to me. I only need to charge it every 3 days or so. All in all, I am quite satisfied with this phone.

This is a bad phone, the battery life isnt very good and the sound quality also sucks. The biggest problem I have with this phone is its buttons - I dont know what Nokia was thinking when they designed this phone, the buttons are too close to each other and every time I want to press one button I accidently press another, the buttons just run to evenly in line with each other. Its really a horrible phone!

the best phone ever... survived about 100 drops (on concrete, carpet, asphalt...) and had only couple scratches due to it's rubbery material. It served me for more than two months untill yesterday when it had it's last fall from 10ft high and the screen cracked... Rest in Peace my poor phone... Those who are satisfied with their mobiles are those that has not enough money to buy such a mobile phone, and those who aren't satisfied will choose or wait for high-end models to satisfy them, or they would collect mobiles.........The bottom line is that people who hate this or that phone model, simply says that, that is the worst phone ever or not a good phone. While people who likes it will say that they love the phone or they liked it. Remember that all people are not pretty same in thoughts when it comes to cellular phone selection. It depends on their purpose for that certain phone, wether if it's for text messaging or purely for calls or other purposes. Like here in our place, we never use high-end phones (phone snatching is common here), just mid-end or yet just a simple low-end phone to address my communication to my friends and families. Maybe you are quite well-off because you hate 3500classic. You probably are using N-Series, E-Series, or other high-end models. Leave others who are bragging about their phone. That's the way they see it, and i'm sure they love it.

I guess you're correct when it comes to sound reproduction from its onboard MP3/AAC/WMA player. I purchased an adapter that lets me fit a 3.5mm earphone plug, then I bought a Sony Ericsson Earbuds. The bass reproduction has never been this good. Thanks.........Never mind those LOSERS. :)

HM what can I tell except that this phone absolutely sucks.I bought it a year ago and by this time now it is already broken and it can't be fixed! I really don't know why ???But also I met few people who had the same phone ,and theirs is also broken!!! First it started to block when I wanted to start the music player, later it started to regularly shut down and at the end it just didn't want to turn on when I changed my sim card.... From all capability & facility of this mobile phone, I really loved it. MOreover its speakerphone, very clearly sounds out the music. but the handset speaker too weak of sound. But, overall it is cozy phone ! although many of lackness appeared, like its rubber skin get peeled.

Hi mike. It is very easy to download software to the phone but the file extension should be jar. you dont have to download the jad file in most cases. To install them on this phone just connect the phone via usb and copy paste the jar file any folder. You can download many programs and games form zedge.com and mobile9.com and many other sites. some disadvantages:- 1- display colors are very bad.display size is very very very small. u can enjoy watching any picture or movie. 2- biggest draw back, battery cover have a thin rubber coating which peels off withing 3 months and phone looks very bad and gives an impression as if it has been used very roughly. 3- very poor battery. talktime just 2 hours. 4- another big draw back,the steel rim around the casing gets intensivley hot during a long call.it starts burning ur ear. 5- camera is not of much good quality. pictures taken in day light are good. good thing about camera/ bad thing about display:- bcoz the display colors are very bad,the pictures taken with its camera show good quality when send to another phone with good display or to a computer.

Man it,s because if u put the bluetooth settings defult that,s WAT happens if u don,t change anything it usly go to the memory stick.And if u keep making it fall ill stuuff up the thing that,s why i dos,nt last long if i taik care off iit thn it will last fr 10 yrs man.

its because the memory of this phone has a specific memory. if the file you receive is bigger than the free memory of your phone then it automatically saves it to yous memory card which is bigger.

It's simple,user cnt change memory, if the file size is small, it will copy to phone memory,if it's a big file, not sufficient to hold in phone memory, it will be copied to memory card, Better to make phone memory free by moving received files to memory card.

It says in the PDF manual, available on the Nokia website, that the phone cannot handle more than a 2GB card, hence the "R" in "RTFM" which stands for "read". On the bright side, you still have a working microSD RAM card.

Using your fingernail, slide it to the right and it will pop open. 3) Insert the card, name side toward you (the back of the phone). I strongly recomend buying this phone, especially if you like classic designs, but whith the great advantage of a very good camera and some other features. The battery duration is ok, that`s one of Nokia's advantages. User memory is a bit low but you always have to buy a card, and up to 2GB sounds ok to me.

Uhm... i plan on getting this phone with the .. fido plan and im wondering if it has a memory card in it. i had around 2 cell phones before that didnt have a memory card which meant i couldnt put any songs in it. the USB didnt work either because i had to install the CD that came with it..but unfortunately it didnt. Fine Usage is goood infact greeeat ,feautes r fine, data storage n stuff accessing is can go easily , sms texting is excellent, Cam clarity is avg. well on the whole mobile is good at its best , But i dint understood the file support as the OS here is NOKIA so only Java games are supported n not sis. but am able to run few sis games and got a bad hand for few ....!!!!

Hi there. i'm not sure about this nokia (concerning the memory you all are talking about), but i have 1 gb mp3 player and i was able to transfer only about 600 mb into it only at first.what i did was that i created a folder inside the memory card(and not copy data straight onto the card as loose files if you know what i mean) and it's all fine since, i mean i can transfer the whole 1 gb.so i suspect it could be the same issue with the nokia memory card.hope it helps.

I've had this phone for a while now, I think that it is a really good starter phone. It has a great music player, sound quality is amazing. The camera is one of the flaws, it only takes good pictures in places with a lot of light. Also the screen could've been better.

Nokia 3500 classic overall is good enough for those who likes simplicity and style. The camera is not good actually, too much noise, distorted colors, but overall is nice for candids. Music quality is nice! When i plugged in my 3.5" headset with adapter, it sounds awesome just like XpressMusic phones. Unfortunately, since it's only S40 v3, it's media player couldn't make playlist containing videos. I also disappointed with it's smallish display and 128x160 pixels only. This phone could have way bigger display with this phone dimensions. It can support my 4gb microSD after software update. Keypad is prone to fingerprints as the review said.. For those who wants simplicity and style at cheap price, you can buy this phone. But NOT suitable for gadget freaks..

For beginners its quite a good if u dont want to make long calls. And yes it can heat up if u talk for too long.

I have bought this one two days ago, and at first i feel little bittle bad about it, but as I explore it, it does have some thing to praise. 1. Casing is superb, size small, weight very good 81gm 2. fixture of body is good. 3. screen resolution does have small size 128x160, but a good theme can give fine results, who are complaining about display must use good themes combination. 4. i hope as we use and time passes battery may give longer feeds. 5. its OS is simple to use. and a good one. 6. camera is testable. it does have less then 2MP results, but proper setting may give u shockers. 7. video is not more then OK. 8. keypad is xelent. 9. one thing its camera pics are not in horizontal, they captured in vertical form, one has to rotate all the time for desktop wallpaper. overall 7/10

hi friends. i bought this phone after much thinking and survey (10.09.2008).i 100% agree that this is not the best phone.i am also using one nokia 6681 with 1.3 megapixel and flash and believe me, 6681 gives much much better results even with its 1.3 mp camera. other features are average ( 3500c) if compared with 6681 and screen resolution is really worst feature of 3500,i hope you all will agree.still not compared the gprs speed on airtel gprs.radio reception is weak and music is somewhat better than average(6681 is better). BUT WHAT YOU WILL GET AT 5500/- BUCKS????? nokia6681 was priced at 12500/- three years back and still commands a price of approx 10000/-(if found,ha ha ha)as per price charts. So i don't have any measure complains against nokia 3500 classic.it solves my purpose of a middle budget phone ( middle budget according to my income,ha ha ha),one full days battery backup with my extensive use,good ringtone quality,slim shape,FM,average pictures atleast in daylight(you won't expect a 3.2 MP camera with carl zeaus lens and xenon flash at rupees 5500/-).picture are reasonable on laptop screen.Data transfer & connectivity are really plus points of this phone at this budget and this was the reason for buying this phone for me. I'll keep it simple and just discuss the pros and cons of this phone. So here it goes: Pros: 1. Excellent value for money. You wont get so many features for such a price. 2. Really intuitive new user interface alongwith a standby mode which allows you put shortcuts of your favorite apps / items from phone. 3. Elegant looks. 4. Sound Quality of music player is reasonably good. 5. Ability to customize overall look and feel with customized themes; these are available on the net (Even the icons and animations change as well!). 6. Support for flash lite 1.1. That means you can use screensavers and wallpapers as well as games made with flash techcology. 7. Excellent connectivity options; EDGE, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. 8. Support for memory card upto 2gb. And now for the problems with this phone: 1. Unsatisfactory battery life. It hardly lasts for 2 days with average use. And if you listen to songs, it can even last only for one day. 2. Bad build quality; the phone creaks if you press it too hard and cannot cope with harsh usage (Mine's steel rim which you see in the photo came off!). 3. Really bad keypad ergonomics. It reduced my typing speed (compared to my sony ericsson j300i) by almost 30-40%. Because the keys are kind of sticky. 4. Software crashes; the phone sometimes hangs and restarts itself almost randomly and for no apparent reason. (Nokia might sort that out with a update). 5. A very cheap camera. Even worse than the camera in Sony Ericsson k700i. It cannot produce good shots indoors, cuz there is so much grain. Maybe due to saturation problems. Also the overall speed of the camera interface is very slow. 6. Memory card access is very slow. Overall Score 5.5 / 10 Experience: Mostly Unsatisfactory Suggestion: Go instead for Nokia 3110 which is better in every department (and cheaper as well) except that its looks are bit boring and it has 1.3 megapixel camera.

WHo is the hell is saying it without camera and music........This fone is having 2MP camera...memory upto 2GB and music is really good...............I think this is the best mobile in this range (5500Rs)

Worth to what i paid to get this phone. Wonderful phone features, excellant sound, stylish finish, slim look. I liked to use it Drawbacks: Screen size is small with poor resolution and the phone comes without data cable.

Man, I was so dissapointed today, when I got this phone. I ordered it over the Internet, and I loved the pictures. It looked good, especcially the pink one. The real color is far from the one on the picture. The camera was bad and the phone lied weird in my hand. Well, it is your decision, but I'm sending mine back.

I've got a problem. Whenever I try to get some mp3 ringtone from my friend's K790i the command "operation failed" comes. But this doesn't happen for picture files always. Sometimes it want passcodes also. This has also happned with 6233 quite a number of times.Is it a software problem? Can anybody help me?

Nokia 3500 classic is a very nice combination of all the features that can be made available in this range of cell phones.Nice body, good features, and good combination of colours. I would like to just say that , if you can replace that blue colour background with someother colour which go good with black colour in front, then it would add some more value to its very good features. just use the left selection key and opt for the bluetooth menu there turn it on and then go to paired devices and press the add key it shud work

great phone, had it for 6 months now, easy to use, mini usb is a great plus. Battery life could be longer, but it gets me through a couple days. The camera is pretty average as you'd expect for a reasonably cheap phone. I'd give it 4.5/5 for this price range.

does the nokia 3500 come with a 256 mb memory card cuz mine didnt come with one . The country is pakistan and the nokia site is not accessible right now so any authentic answer is welcome. Otherwise this is an amazing phone and you cant get enough of the awesome keys!
