Everyone critiqued this phone 2 years ago when it came out how it has only 16gb of storage and 2gb of ram but remember that specs on paper are not the same as when you actually use the phone. This phone just never disappointed me or made me regret buying it for 2+ years of usage. It works as well as when it was new and constant updates just make me feel like I'm using a high end phone. This month it will be 2 years i used this phone. This is the best phone i had in YEARS. With the previous phones, the phones were good when i bought it. Then, when times go by, little by little, every phone slowed down. I suppose that internet (YT, FB, etc...) by time got more and more demanding, and phone more and more slow... At the begining the phone run fast, and then slow, then more slow, then i wait for yt 5 sec to open new video, then 10 sec, etc... The phones RAM was stayed the same and internet got more and more demanding. By the 2 years mark EVERY phone that i used became non-usable to the point where i waited for 15 sec to open YT app, or change the video. With this NOKIA 5 phone, even now (2yr l8r), the youtube app just FLY just like at the begining! Not just YT bu EVERY other app! I didn't saw the drop of the performance anywhere! It is so (positively) confusing, that i can't understand it... Also about a year ago my phone dropped on the tile, bathroom floor, with it's corner and my display broke with few lines across it. Before that it fell numerous times on the concrete floor, tiles floor, wood, granite and still, and not once was broken! this time it fell on the corner and phone got broken that way... Also after that phone felled again numerous times and it was not broken anymore then it allready been. Oh man it fall on concrete while i was riding a bike at 50 km/h (after breakage) and phone didn't broke more then it was been broke! What a friggin PHONE! Way to go NOKIA!!! After this gospel to Nokia 5, one little thing i don't like. It is the max volume on the speaker which is so low... That is one bad thing about the phone... Everything else is fu***** amazing! Also it was not expensive, but design of it is top notch! Aluminium back and all phone look like it cost 1000$... Also i write this on it, with split screen where YT plays a song and it flow smoooooothly... Not delay, not "burping", not braking, not bugging, no memory low/sharing, just fast app and phone response... I can't speak with words how i am pleased with this phone... I can't believe people here who don't like it and which phone is slow, bugging or whatever... I think that their phones may be a pirates, counterfights, not originals, so maybe this is their bad opinion on it... With my 10-12 yrs of smart phones using, this is my best phone, hands down... I just need to buy a new one, but i don't want to change it, if you believe me/understand me. Even with this broken display/glass pieces missing, i don't want to change it... This is how good phone it is... But i will buy a new phone, because this broken phone is embarrassing... My social position require the good phone (car, watch, etc... the stupid thing IMO, but people think that way...) so it will be the probably Nokia 6.1. Nokia 7 is too fancy and IMO high end phones sacrifice the using ability to looks, so it will be Nokia 6.1. If that phone behave like the old one, i will NEVER change the NOKIA brand for LIFE! I used it phones from the start (3310 and wayyyy before), till the lumia and other crap when Nokia sell the itself. When the smart phones taked over, i never used the NOKIA smart phone (seriously it was crap... think lumia... oh God...), but now.... Nokia was THE BEST cell phone company, and thank to GOD, it came back to that position! The dark times where Microsoft bought it (like everything that Microsoft touch turn to shit), and when Nokia bought itself back their mobile division, it fueled self in #1 at mobile phone industry again! The best mobile devices was is and will be Nokia! Let my 6.1 be like 5.0! Thanks mighty NOKIA!

I've had this phone since release (2 years now) and it has served me well. Was very cheap to buy but has high end aluminium build quality (feels high quality), and is completely up to date with Android Pie. Performance is good, it's not slow or laggy like some low-end phones so I like it. The camera's a little off but hey, what's to complain about a phone that is so cheap.

This thing is also happened with me . I used Lumia 535. Everything was going well. But one day I connected with my sound system ith 3.5 mm Jack and after connecting the mobile get switched off. I'm not entirely satisfied with this phone, though I can't honestly remember a phone that worked flawlessly for me. I have to say that I never had a real high-end phone. With Android 9, the phone got a great feature that you lose all your fingerprints if your phone dies due to low battery. This has happened to me twice now. Xiaomi note 4 that I had before was noticeably better machine, running better and having better user interface (clean android actually sucks and you need a launcher anyway for customization and faster shortcuts etc).

It won't. Most android phones receive 2 new android versions (I.e A phone could have android 7.0 and would have 8.0 and 9.0 but no 10.0) it will only get security updates after that second version of android.

I bought it in 1st week of September 2017 in emergency when my Nexus 5X broke down. So far no hardware issues experienced. Few issues with some apps like Amazon : It becomes unresponsive for a second or so. And after almost 1.5 years of usage, now running out of storage space. Apps are taking too much space - but that's a not a phone specific issue it could happen on any device. Nexus 5X was ~600$ when I bought it. This phone was around 180-200$ when I bought it. So good phone for this price range..serves the purpose of a simple smart phone.. nothing fancy. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

The latest battery hmd used for Nokia 5, is not the usual Nokia battery. My Nokia 5 just one year and some months, the battery have swollen up and cracked edge of the torch screen. Nokia support centre is far and l need people advice. Hmd please look into this battery issues, especially phones sent to west Africa, Nigeria in particular.

solid build, but camera is very average. making videos is even worse - every time something moves or you move the camera it refocuses every time. you wouldn't pay attention to this, but watching videos you ACTUALLY see that EVERY moment camera refocused the picture. Videos of nokia 5 look like mtv clips with constant flickering. fighting for the warranty exchange, but this is definitely my last nokia ever.

I am using Nokia 5 for more than a year now and the phone still runs smooth. This phone is not for the people who cannot manage their phones btw. Try clearing all apps in the background when not using it or turn off any toggled options in your action tray. Also, don't use your phone while charging. I have the 16GB/2GB variant but it's still running smoothly. Try buying an SD card not lower than Class 10. Complaints are usually coming from the people who are not familiar on how their phones work or from those who doesn't know how to manage an Android.

If you have ever used other phone brands, You will hate this phone coz it's a downgrade to the entire android phones. I bought it bcoz of NOKIA standard of producing quality and durable phones. Not knowing that NOKIA is not good on android phones. Too slow, mostly hang, low quality parts, screen easily crack, not user friendly, the most annoying part is that if a call came in, it will not allow you to answer from locked screen. You first have to logged in, go to call, go to "call in progress" to answer call. Before following all these steps, the call would have ended. What a rubbish!

Although first time installing the SD card I merge the both memories, storage and sd. It seems I'm losing faith in this HMD Nokia brand. My two Nokia devices are having hardware issues, Nokia 5 and Nokia 2. Nokia 5,the glue used to hold the screen is given way, opened right side of the phone. Nokia 2, the steel plate covering the battery expanded up making the back cover not to cover the phone. These issues Is due to used of inferior and less quality materials in producing these devices. Old Nokia is known for quality and durability. HMD should try to retain the standard old Nokia had made, to have the love and trust of Nokia fans. The two devices is less than two years l bought them. I'm from Nigeria, Africa.

Hello, Go to playstore -> Settings -> Auto-update Apps -> "Over any network" if you have this 1st option selected for "Auto-update apps", then it might be the reason for the wait, try checking it, as it will update apps every time you switch-on the Mobile Data. If that's not the case, then it needs further investigation.

It's performance is problematic, i can crash it in a few minutes with apps like Google Earth, etc. Using this phone is a real PAIN: Can you please tell me what's the SPEED of the INTERNAL MEMORY (write speed) that you are getting? I'm having a discussion here, and someone says that there is NOT possible that a MEMORY CARD could have better performance than the internal memory, BUT IT DOES! In both my NOKIA 5 (one i returned, the other... still problematic!) I've used and Results are consistent! BOTH internal memory and CARD have 50 to 60Mb/s WRITE SPEED! Any other phone even with unknown chinese brands have MUCH higher internal memory WRITE speed...

for me is very good phone (single sim version), use for talking and very little for browsing (i am not playing games). for 1 week battery drains down to 30% (use battery saving mode - don't like vibration)... for one year of use have no reboot or freezing (reboot only when installing updates)... snapdragon is good processor. don't know is software or fingerprint problem, but sometimes ask me for password, another bug was that sometimes some quick icons stoped working (like all is wallpaper...) but after some update problem was gone ... for file manager use stock app (files) and total commander. i don't have apps that "stopped working..." (i removed them, bad programmers so much...) only opencamera (bad focus, especially when zooming) was crashed and stock camera app make better shots... for expanding storage i use good memory card (sandisk ultra UHS-I), apps can crash, when cheap, bad and slow micro-sdhc cards are used... too bad that new nokia 5.1 and 5.1 plus are with mediatek (this means bad software support, overheating, crashes)... before have prestigio with sd210 also good, but with bad support from m$...

I have been using this phone since December/2017. It's such a great phone and superior in its class. I'm running Oreo 8.1 on it and hope there will be a version 9.0 upgrade. the only complain I have is when I switch the net on (after been off for a long time), I have to wait a while (1 - 1.5 mins.) to let all the applications that use the net to get their new posts (whatsApp, Imo, snapChat, email, Google Duo .....Etc), during this time i can do nothing but wait. still Nokia 5 is an excellent experience for me and I will keep using it for another year at least.

Well, I really understand all users with the bad experience with this phone, I was having almost all the issues that people are talking about this device , I updated until today with New Android 8.1 an August update everything works amazing, especially the camera and the battery, no problems with touch any more

this is the absolute worst phone I ever had in my life and I really doubt whether there is one that is worse. there really is not a single good thing to say because absolutely nothing works. when you use particular apps 7/10 times they crash and you get a notification "..app stopped working". the thing is, sometimes you don't do anything and you get the notification "system stopped working/doesn't react anymore" sorry but ???wtf also the camera is so bad I can't even verbally explain how bad it is and the sounds recorded with the handy microphone is the worst thing you'll ever hear. sorry but this is absolute trash.bye.

Good - nice clean design; not bloated with extra software etc - a paired down minimal phone. Light; functions well. Bad - 16gb internal gets full in a matter of days; but at least you can expand using an sd card. However this never seems as good as fixed internal memory. Its slow. Boy or boy is this phone slow - the camera takes 5-6 seconds at least before being ready; some apps takes 10+ seconds to load up. Perfect for a light use phone; calls / emails etc. But load too much on it or use a more processor intensive app and it is almost unusable. I would say 2.5 stars out of 5.

Very important, First of all dont update it to oreo because it becomes very slow, and second thing is make your sd card as internal storage from setting- storage- sd card- 3 dot option, there is option to format sd card as internal storage, after that you can move apps to sd card and it becomes default storage. Nokia 5 works fast on android 7.0, waut for android 9.0

The phone Nokia 5 is in look wise good but there are issues related to memory card. Lot time phone don't read the memory. Update oreo is ok but take lot memory so internal space drain. And now these day wrose service provide from nokia care if any issues found i garentty nokia care will not short out. Better to choose from other companies. We paid more nokia alreday and taking wrose service.

have left a few comments about this phone on this site , mostly good, had the phone for near 1 year and am very happy with it, but two issues I have encountered over owning the phone, one, the phone says the SD card has been removed when it hasn't, but a restart normally cures that problem, 2nd, the focus while videoing can be very bad, always hunting for focus, has been doing that from original android n right up to android 8.1, will Nokia fix it when they update to pie, I do wonder, a new issue that I have noticed, maybe ⅓ of the way up the screen, in the middle of screen is what looks like a blue circle burn in on the screen, along with a small burn in line, very strange as I had no blue colour on my screen for any length of time, I actually keep my brightness down low, and screen set to turn off after 1min of no use, so it's a odd development. at moment it's only noticeable when screen is white , it's not driving me crazy yet,but if it grows I will see about taking it back to shop, maybe Android p might fix it, if it a software issue

You are missing the point. If you format sd card 100 times it doesnt mather. As i suspect you are using sd card as internal storage. This phone is not slow at all. But using sd card as internal storage will make this device slow unless you are using application ready sd card which is much faster. I have a1 gen and sometimes it gets slow but overall its fast. A2 will be out really soon and that will make a big difference. It will be mahbe faster then emmc 5.1. i payed about 50 bucks for sandisk extreme pro a1 32gb and im still not satisfied with speed

I dropped it so many times without any problems, but one day screen got broken, after that I dropped many more times :) now screen broke in three places still working without any problems. Battery life is fantastic, network connection super good I can’t think about better phone for the price. Love you Nokia and welcome back to business :)

I had 2-3 sd card wich went broke in nokia 5... I formated it many times. its really slow. I dont get it, 8 cores... 1 core would be enough if it was fast... 1 gb to little ram for shure. and to little hard drive.. the nokia 6 is to big, and will go slower due to more pixel screen... so only choice seems to be nokia 7. nokia 8 way to expensive and stuff u dont need like dual camera etc. well think they need it.. along a porche, 2 wifes etc.

Why on earth is Nokia producing the 5 in two diferent versions Single / Dual-SIM? I checked several models and within my needs I then selected Nokia 5, a model I didn't consider before. In stores in Bulgaria I asked and they were dual-SIM as required. Then I went to my comunications provider (A1, former M-Tel), thinking I might get a better deal. Just about 5 euros difference but I took it. Guess what, it's single-SIM! Didn't even know this particular model came in 2 versions. Requested the return, but from the store I was redirected to customer service that took weeks to answer, and when I asked, they redirected me back to the store, where they refused. They cost the same in most places. But if you are not all over it, some companies only care about selling, it's your problem. Also, in other EU countries it would be a perfectly normal thing, to return or exchange the product. Just spent some 150 euros and I still have to use two cell phones. Thank's for nothing, Nokia and A1.

And after giving them 7000 , my phone is not properly working yet.. Total expenditure on my Nokia 5 = 12500( phone price)+6500()

I bought my first Nokia 5 in October, after an update it crashed never to start again, was replaced by the shop selling it under warranty.. Replacement crashed while on a call today and wont switch on. Generally, nice build, feels good, camera slow to open and focus, 16gb fills with system junk really quickly, to many times.. "app not working" over that last 2 weeks its slow and sluggish and today off it goes. I was looking at the 8, but after my experience think i will be moving to my wifes Sony instead... Disappointed as i was always a Nokia fan but this experience with the 5 has put me off of buying another.

Sounds like a memory card problem. Have one? If yes, take it out, and try again. Also, change the camera to save images to internal mem. and try to take pics. If it works. Then try your mem card in your pc and see if it works. There is a highly chanche it wont be healthy.

I have had my Nokia 5 for two weeks now and if I FaceTime thru messenger which I've always done on other phones it has a high pitched screach that lasts for the duration of the call and can also be heard on the other end it sounds like a couple of parakeets fighting , also on an ordinary phone call if I put it on speaker phone the other person asks me to take it off speaker phone because of the feedback which is something you'd get in the 1970s phoning another country ! Have had Nokia 5 for near 1 year, for the price ,it's been a great phone. The few issues I have had are, SD card has on 3 occasions said it was unable to read, which resulted in having to format as card again, a hassle if you had apps stored on it, also some apps sometimes close unexpectedly,but that could be more down to the apps than phone software, and other issue I found is, sometimes the camera doesn't hold the focus, but those issues happen rarely, 99% of phone use has been great, have got all off the updates and security updates , fingerprint scanner works perfectly, screen is perfect, battery lasts near to a full day, which for my use of phone is good. If I have complaints about the phone,it's about Google maps, and how ,even if you have saved offline maps, they sometimes disappear, Google maps great when online but offline, very poor very poor app data management on Google maps

The most annoying aspect is that it takes long before an application comes up. most often than not it freezes. As for me, I bought my Nokia 5 for £ 169.99 in London. 19/11/17.The camera is superb to my taste. The phone is silky and and sleeky if it's not carefully held, it might slips off your hand. As for the battery 3000mah, it's okay, manageable, but not for heavy users such as playing heavy games like "brothers in arms, Die hard, e.t.c The internal memory is small (16GB). The shape is fine and it is sylishly curvy. There is no LED light for notifications such as charging, missed calls, messages.

After 3 months of using this phone, the following issues were observed: 1. There is no quick preview of the gallery when using the camera. It will be redirected to google photos. 2. I observe that the volume adjusts on its own after I restart the device which is pretty annoying. For example, I put my phone on mute and then I turn it off or restart it, the volume goes back to unmuted which can cause disturbance during meetings, appointments, etc.

Built-in GPS and GLONASS can't lock in. Useless for Navigation. Unstable WiFi and cellular network keep disconnected. Ram management/background task issue, keeps refreshing when switch tab, can't even handle 2 application or two Google Chrome tab running in background.

Slow is an understatement! Sure, INTERFACE is fast! Nice scroll ! That's it! As soon as you have few apps installed and REALLY start using the phone... well... hell breaks loose! Sometimes it's non responsive for 10-20 seconds. LAGs everywhere... NEVER test a phone without a few apps and WIRELESS / 4G. This is where the phone sucks. I even had a unit for 2 months that simply... CRASHED every day! Froze like a brick. Now i have a new one, and has the CAMERA FOCUS BUG!

Don't play with phone too much. 2. Don't have any attraction for mobile photography. 3. Games: not too much and not for too long. I love flying simulators. Aerofly 2 and infinite flying simulator ia what i play most. Cause i don't have time to sit continuously. 4. Whatever phone i use, i grant my access to root privelage. 5. Video recording is not something i am crazy about either. 6. I like the looks of Nokia 5. It's durability. 7. I have no issues in waiting 1-2 seconds for an app to launch or few hiccups here and there. Now, if there are no hardware or software problems, will it be ok for me?

Not a techno savvy here but have been a Loyal Nokia Lover Since past 15 years. But disappointed yet again after the purchase of Lumia Edition. Been using Nokia 5 from September 2017. The Nokia letter stickers are gone (even tried to hold onto it with a glue), the phone hangs once in two days, and Good Gracious it heats up like a portable heater a something. Updated it to android 8 (mandatory, could not refuse the update) CLONED the old phone (SAME APPs and data) SAME memory card (used only for photos - Sandisk Extreme PRO) and the result is a REAL PHONE that i can now USE!!! FInally... DAMN you Nokia! The differences i see is the camera firmware and the INTERNAL MEMORY SPEED (60MB/s against the 40MB/s of the old one). THIS PHONE JUST WORKS. It's not a super fast machine, but it does not lag that much and IT DOES NOT CRASH at every 15 minutes use... the apps open (btw, one app refused to open in the old one and runs perfectly in this!) *** Bottom line *** FOR ALL of you with NOKIA 5 out there, with severe problems, don't waste more of your time: your device is DEFECTIVE. Period. I'm glad i insisted, because the BUILD quality of this nokia is TOP notch. Shame about the quality control??? Maybe RAM quality???

Not sure why everyone is complaining, it's not that bad, I have been using it for 3 months The pros of this phone are: *Excellent design (I have the blue one) *A very good battery life *Great display ------------- The Cons: **Camera is average (will try to install the new Camera Pro app from XDA and see) **Performance is average (I had a serious issue and it was pretty much lagging when I had a Kingston memory card with the apps on it, after I purchased a SandDisk Ultra memory card, the performance was pretty much better especially after I freed 3 GB of the phone's internal storage on the internal phone memory, I guess it needs some good space for it's temporary performance files) **Games: I haven't seen a game that it couldn't run yet, I play Shadow Fight 2&3, Assassin's Creed, The Wolf and no lagging so far **I wish the RAM was 3 GB instead of 2, this would have been way better So far, I am satisfied with what I have for what I paid

Accurate review about Nokia 5. Pros: the good looks, satisfactory display quality, good battery backup Cons: The phone is very poor in performance. Very poor in RAM management. It crashes frequently while playing games. Very poor camera. The competitor companies like Mi, Redmi, OnePlus offers you a better camera and of course a better performance. The service of Nokia is the worst. Overall I was very much disappointed with this phone. I bought this brick just because of the brand name. But the old Nokia is dead now. Well, bought a 32GB Sandisk EXTREME PRO! :D Twice as fast as the internal memory. Formatted as INTERNAL, so i can move apps to the card. Then again, 90% of the apps cannot be moved... no problem... i learn with my mistakes! Now... more extensive testing... in the last day i crashed almost all the most used apps: Facebook, Messenger, Google Earth crashes the app, the SYSTEM UI and the phone becomes a brick! :D Amazing! This is a really BAD piece of hardware.

Exagerate much? If you bought this device, am pretty sure you di not bought an expensive zte and am ppretty sure is not 10x faster. When they sell nokia 5 it was klearly told it has 17 gb internal storage, so, what's the problem? Do not know how to read, or you like to buy phones for the sick if complaining? Or you actually do not owe ine?. Anyways, nokia 5 is clearly not the fastest device out their, and by it's hardware one cannot expect more then it is. Oreo, sadly does not have that function anymore to turn your card in a internal memory thing. It is just gone. Maybe latter will be released again. Till then....well... you could format your device. You must have a cheap & crab & slow sd-card as internal memory. I had a bit similar symptoms, which started when I format sd-card as internal memory. I then changed to Sandisk Extreme Pro card, and phone works like dream. When changing the sd-card, the old card must be removed from storage list, otherwise android complains about missing storage space in some applications.

I have been amazed by how stable 8.0 and 8.1 updates have been. There has been no issues at all with there updating. There is a issue at moment with updating the current MAY SECURITY UPDATE,it downloads, installs perfectly,but if I go back into the update options, the update is there again and says (verification problem) , retired a few times, still same keeps happening, so going to leave it for a few days and then try again, it's only hmm 135mb download, so not sure why it's having issues. Camera app is SLOW loading. SLOW focusing (and loses focus). SLOW loading the picture gallery. Tried other cameras that are FAR better (paranoid camera, for example) - but have problems saving pictures. Maybe i will opt for a GOOGLE CAMERA port. Wish it was officially available.

It's odd, I have reset the app, which use to fix the problems, can't import the contacts as they not on sim. I don't (unless it has done it by itself) back up or sync info online, so maybe that could be issue. A issue I do have today is, I got the latest ,I think, may security update, ,135mb in size, Downloaded it, installed it and then just happened to go back to update settings and seen it said the update was to be downloaded again as there was a verification error. Down twice more ,and still showing up as verification error. So that's a bit odd. Going to stop trying for a few hours and check later.

Just updates to 8.1, all working fine. I have noticed Nokia has redesigned the camera app UI alittle. Haven't taken any pictures yet, so will have to see if quality is still good. The notification shade light and dark themes are very nice but be nice if could just pick a theme, without it being connected to background picture colour. Apart from the update taking a while to be available to download, I have to say , Nokia and Google have done another good job in getting a stable update out, Didn't take too long to install and get going again. Only issue I have, which I did have in 8.0 is the contacts app doesn't show any of my contacts, Enter the app through the phone app, and all contacts are there. So most be a simple bug somewhere. But as said, apart from that, am very impressed.

9:30am, just after checking for update and it's arrives. Android 8.1 (v5-600) < that most be type on Nokia 5 in Europe.. Haven't installed yet, Strangely it does again say it can only download over wi-fi, I say strangely cause it said same for updating to 8.0 but I downloaded it over mobile network. Anyways. Hopefully after this long wait that 8.1 is as smooth as 8.0. I have been using my N5 for the past two months and its been great, until now. I just plugged it on charger this morning and it keeps giving a sound of charging(showing the charging icon and not showing, the cycle goes on). I have bought this phone in December 2017 since that date the phone is just great. what i like most about it is its powerful speaker, its build quality (once i accidentally dropped it with its glass face down on a concrete floor and nothing happened) , the ability to add an SD card and make it as a part of internal storage and its very reasonable price. the only "problem" i have found is after updating the phone to the latest 8.1 (although the update process went smoothly), the phone graphics became less fluid. the graphics were smoother in android 7.1 and 8 than in 8.1. other than that there's nothing to complain about the phone and i intend to keep using it for the next two years at least.

I'm seriously looking for a sub-£200/€200 phone that can cater to my "everyday" life i.e. one with great battery life, decent camera, great screen sunlight legibility, loud enough speakers and generally A1 performance. I bought this phone last March 16 because it was on a promo sale with a free JBL bluetooth speaker and sodexo voucher. I am from the Philippines BTW. In terms of performance, so far the device is OK. What I mean with OK is that it is not so fast, and also not so slow. It can play NBA2k18 at the ultra low settings. I purchased a 16GB class 10 SD card to expand its storage. The only issue that I am experiencing right now is so much heat is being produced while initial charging. It will cool down though once it reach 80%. That's why I dont use it and turn it completely off while charging. I also experience issues in terms to responsiveness. A simple restart can solve it though. Overall it is an OK device given with its price. 6/10

I bought this phone back in November 2017, this has been my experience so far (I have the 2GB RAM version, the model with 3GB came out maybe 2 weeks after I bought the phone): Software: The phone came with Android 7.1.1 and the April 2017 security patch if I remember correctly. When setting up the phone, it didn't recognise my SIM card, but a few software updates later it was working perfectly. There were some software faults, such as all background apps being killed, but that seems to be mostly fixed in the 8.0 Oreo update. The near-stock Android that the Nokia 5 uses is fast and simple to use, although the new Settings menu can be hard to get used to. Security updates are pushed out on time, usually in the second week of the month where I live. Performing every day tasks such as browsing, chatting, watching YouTube, etc. is a fantastic experience. The phone doesn't slow down at all. Can't say much about gaming, because I rarely play Android games, but PUBG Mobile runs smoothly on low settings. Display: I'm happy with the 720P display that this phone has. It is sharp, and colours are recreated fairly well, but blacks could be a bit darker in my opinion. Also, with a tampered glass [TG] screen protector, some users are reporting issues with responsiveness. For those folks, I can recommend 1 thing: CLEAN YOUR SCREEN. With a TG screen protector, in my experience, the screen has become unresponsive if it was dirty. A good wipe should fix it right up. Durability: Since I'm really clumsy, I managed to drop this phone a fair bit already. Maybe its because of the case and the screen protector that I'm using, but the phone has not broken yet, still works as good as new. Only damage is the paint chipping on the back, due to sand getting into the case somehow. Other hardware features: Both the front and rear cameras take clear pictures with nice colours. If you are taking HDR photos, you have to hold the phone steadily with as little shaking as possible for the best results. 1080p videos are great, but some sort of stabilisation would be useful. The fingerprint scanner is not the fastest, but it is accurate and does its job well. The earpiece is loud and clear, great for phone calls. The loudspeaker gets quite loud, but there is a static noise at low volumes on my device. 16GB of storage is limiting if you don't expand it with a MicroSD card. The system with the out-of-the-box apps takes up about 10-11GB. Overall rating: 8/10 For €220, you get a lot of phone for the money. It is a no-nonsense smartphone with great build quality and useful features. This has been my daily driver for the past 4 months, and the device works like a charm, especially since the Oreo update. I recommend the Nokia 5 to people who are looking for a device with great performance at an affordable price, or to people who want a phone with a good camera, but don't want to spend near €1000 on a flagship.

The design is very good. Although display is 720P but the quality of display panel is good. It gets fast android updates as well. Rear Camera tends to over expose photos & clicks photos of useable quality. Selfie camera is wide angle & thus can click group selfies well. But the phone has poor performance. Apps take long time to start up. It also lags a LOT. Ram management is quite bad too. Software bugs are very common. Customer service is not like old Nokia. Its like Chinese brand customer service.

Never mind the battery or touch or speed of this phone, all you need to know is that the display is too slow to watch video, it will be smeared and unwatchable in all scenes with motion. There are no good phones at this price, if this is all you can afford you need to save up more and aim for an iPhone 6 (still one of the best there is, excellent display, a joy to watch)

But after reading your comment it really can be the tempered glass caused that. Because to be honest I use a very cheap tempered glass and it wasn't even made for Nokia 5. The reason I had to do that was when I bought the phone we didn't have any tempered glass or back covers for Nokia 5 in my country.. They only came after 3-4 weeks. But I am happy with the phone so I didn't consider changing it. Also I am a very lite user. He Heeee :-)

Hi.... I also prefer to use a tempered glass for the protection. As for the heating issue you mentioned, I don't think it's really an issue. At first I was also concerned about phone getting hot while charging. Even if the phone is turned off while charging it really gets hot until the charge is about 90-95%. Then it starts to cool down. It happens most of the time to me too. Few times it got bit hotter while I was using YouTube and browsing the Internet. I was using WiFi not mobile data. But it also happens in my old device (Sony) too. And it was not too much of a heat. Also even if the Nokia 5 getting a bit hotter while charging it has never caused me any problems in performance wise or anything. :-) ( I read in a comment somewhere here that someone had posted saying he/she went to the Nokia care center about the same heating problem and they also had said that it is normal) Also you shouldn't forget that the device has a metal body! Cheers.... :-)

But for me simple restart solved it nicely every time I had the problem. But I don't think it's happening because of the tempered glass because it rarely happens and also restarting solved it for me. I add 32GB memory card cause I need space to download a lot of apps and everything works well. I bought Nokia 3 for my mother and Nokia 6 for my husband. Everybody satisfied with their phone. To anyone getting the Oreo update notification on there Nokia 5, it will say that the update is only able to download over wi-fi connection, am not sure if this is right in some countries and not others, because I downloaded the update have with my WiFi connection and half with my on phones internet, it was very slow to download but it did work. I most add, that I was actually very impressed by how well it downloaded for on many occasions as it downloaded, I paused and resumed the download, and it resumed and continued downloading perfectly and the installing of the download was quick. Just bought nokia 5 3GB Ram variant. Maybe many people don't like 2 weakness of this phone; bad camera and small 16 gb storage. But fortunately, this is pure android, so we can adopt our micro sd to be internal storage, just go for s*ndisk ultra A1 U3, and your problem is solved. One more about camera, just download Google cam, since nokia 5 run Pure Android, we need no root to use this helpfull app cam. And updated as 8.0.0. total update size is 1.8gb.and also 200 mb extra security updates included.. phone screen size and aluminium body is perfectly fine.here some following drawbacks are 1.camera quality just like VGA camera front & back, 2.cache clean cannot cleaned totally, 3.in internal memory of 16gb , 8gb totally used as Android OS and another 8gb , 1.5 gb used as inbuilt apps. So we can use only a 6.5 gb to 7gb. Better move Nokia 7 and 8. Without a 8.1 Android bug update this phone is perfectly worst when u using with 8.0 Oreo version.

I bought my Nokia 5 on last August 4. Since then I have received updates monthly and I have installed every single one of them. Anf I have never faced any problems. I even installed Oreao beta version. For me everything works fine. But don't forget this, I am a very lite user. I never play games or use heavy apps. I only use it for calls, sms amd some chat apps. Sometimes using you tube and for web browsing. I got no major issues to complain so far..... :-)

Hey guys i need your help...i received an update notification yesterday morning it was an update for january security patch level so i downloaded the update and installed it.but when my phone restart then open, this thing pop up (com.android has stop and keeps on stoping) something like that so i had no choice but to shut down the the device and tried to open it again and what happened next was so disgusting,it shows (reboot system,reboot bootloader) something like that so i choose reboot system and when the device start the home button isn't working, only the back button is able use.my messages and contacts were gone. what the heck!i talk to nokia customer services but couldnt find a way to fix this issue cause he said its kinda a rare so he needs time to review what kind of technical or system problem is this.and told me to visit a technician indeed and/or just wait for the next system update and i have to wait for 1month again.shit happens! what happend Nokia please fix this.couldnt use my phone normaly,its malfunctioning,it doesnt run well,even teh bluetooth and wifi coonection isnt working.im using Nokia 5 and im so proud of it!damn!

I am a technician my self and trust me Nokia is the best. There are multiple reasons I said so ...... Xiaomi and honor etc Chinese brands try to get your attention to good features in there mobiles. The big harsh truth is there is no big difference whether you take snapdragon 430 or 435 or 45o or even 625 because at the end of day you use device only to limited extent. These all devices works fine in hand of a pro user on other hand any device can create problem. What Nokia gives different from these is a batter build which make your device last long without any problem. Nokia didn't highlight all features of their devices and so they look costly but trust me on this I am writing this using Nokia 5 with 32gb Sd card and I have all required apps and about 24gb of videos on this device and it is working dam flawlessly. Using a few tricks and tips battery life becomes 2 days or even more. Now let's talk about Nokia 5 feature-length 1. You can use up to 128gb Sd card in dedicated slot and you have option to treat it as internal and in that case your apps got about 8gb space to work properly and look in and mi device even with unwanted blotwares and their updates they barely touch 6gb mark. All multimedia in Nokia with Sd card is automatically transfered in Sd card. (So tell me which is batter) 2. Here you don't have unwanted apps preinstalled. I mean common you need not to update them as mostly a general user opt automatic updates. (Data saving indirectly) 3. Due to less unwanted app it is obvious that ram will be more free better output. 4. Solid build of Nokia (see any battery removal video of Nokia device you will understand what I wanted to say) 5. You get Oreo and most probably Android P which increases life of device. 6. Stock Android means no way to explore file that easy which makes files more safe. (I suggest you should use Google's file go and Google drive as first one let you explore files in organised way and second one give you option to create shortcut on main screen making easily asseability of folder which you use more rapidly . 7. Less apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc only a few of which you use but all were sucking your internet

Spec wise they're similar. However, the Redmi 4X has the benefit of larger storage (32gb vs 16gb) bigger battery (4100 mAh vs 3000 mAh) and camera (13MP vs 8MP)) I'm sure the Nokia 5 is fine, but considering they're priced more or less the same, I'd pick the Xiaomi. My friend bought the 4X a while ago, really impressed with it. Solid specs and great build quality. It's up to you.

I bought this phone 5 weeks ago in a black Friday sale. Guess I fell for the "good old nokia" factor. First of all, the camera software is very poor. Also, the overall picture quality doesn't reflect the announced amount of megapixels. NOT AT ALL. Screen is a little pale and its responsivity slow and unprecise. You will definitely fell the absence of an extra GB of RAM. It runs very slow unless you never forget to, all the time, 'kill' the apps you're not using. But what is REALLY DISAPPOINTING is the amount of bugs I've experienced. 1) First week, it stopped ringing. I had to restore factory settings and loose all my data, what, luckily was just a week old. Online tech support couldn't help me (though they were very kind and looked really interested) . 2) Second week. Battery and charging bugs began. Battery time was not consistent with what the display was showing. It suddenly turned of, with at least a quarter of charge remaining. Also, it took a lot of time to 'recharge', and even, sometimes, I had to reboot it to make it accept the charging operation. 3) Last week. It went dead... It doesn't turn on anymore and the battery doesn't charge. Not even the power + volume up button works. I know warranty applies but still, not what I expected from a brand new Nokia phone.

Same thoughts here, great phone overall. Got a problem with the battery but I think it's bcause my own fault. So after calibrating once, my Nokia 5 shows 1 days and 12 hours of battery usage left for a single full charge (I always turn it off when charging, immediately unplug when it reach 100%). But then it's only 10 - 12 hours only left of usage and drains a little faster for the same normal usage, after I unintentionally leave it fully discharged once and not fully charged it back. Been looking in some articles about this calibration/deeply discharge thing and I'm getting more confused now since some says it's okay, the other says it's very bad for Li-Ion battery. Can someone please tell me what should I do? Thank you

Hi everyone. I've been using this phone for a week now. Global version Model TA-1054. This is my review according to my user experience. Design and Quality: The phone is superb. It's simple yet elegant. And yes, it is built like a tank! One time, I forgot I have my phone on my back-pocket when I suddenly took a seat. I almost had a heart attack, but the phone withstand my weight. Not a single scratch or creak. I can't even bend it! I bought a mediocre shock proof case, for additional protection from scratches. No need to worry about the screen since it is covered with Gorilla Glass. Display: I'd say I'm satisfied. Even though it's just HD and not FHD compared to other phones on it's price point, the screen is crisp and vivid. It's just, I feel like the color temperature is a little bit warmer (yellowish) compared to my previous phone (Lenovo Vibe Z)? But not to the extent that it's uncomfortable to look at. Viewing experience is enjoyable I must say. Multi-tasking and performance: The SD430 and 2GB of RAM can handle my daily needs. I'm not a power user. I only use my phone for texts and calls, browsing, playing light games, and some entertainment thru watching videos and listening to music. I open 3-5 apps on some occasion, there's a little bit of delay on switching apps sometimes but nothing noticeable. OS: Pure Android!!! Currently, I'm on the July security patch. I decided not to install the other updates for the mean time (including Oreo Beta), since I'm reading some software-related issues from other users especially after the November patch. My phone works just fine, camera, signal, multi-tasking, connectivity, etc. Battery: Enough battery life for a user like me. I can have the screen on for around 5-6 hours (from 100 to 15). That already includes gaming and using mobile data when I'm not in my house. It can last me a day. Connectivity: WiFi and mobile data works fine. I have a small issue though, I don't know if it's just my internet connection; but whenever I download some apps from Play Store, it takes some time. Like for example, a 15mb file download can last around 2 minutes most of the time. But outside Play Store, downloading works just fine. With calls, I can have my phone calls and video calls clearly even at noisy surroundings. Camera: Works how it should be. I can say there's a slight improvement on my picture's quality compared to my previous phone. Plus, the front-facing camera has an auto-focus, which is a plus. It also use a wide-angle lens so you won't have difficulty with taking selfies with your company. Overall, I can say I'm very satisfied with my phone. It's a great upgrade from my previous device! It provides me my daily needs. Nothing that I can complain so far. Looking forward for the official update for Oreo soon! It's also worth mentioning that Nokia has a healthy community, where you can exchange ideas with fellow users; and the lovely customer support. Nokia included a "Support" application, which allows you to chat with a customer support representative real time, in case you need help or support for your device. This just show that Nokia is values it's customers.

Have had Nokia 5 for near one month and have found it a great phone. Software runs fast,, i haven't had any crashes, nokia doesn't add lots of unwanted apps/extras, The nokia version of android doesn't have lots of personalization options,but i think for most people it will be satisfactory, Battery life has been excellent. Things i dislike, you need to format your sd card of you want it to be able to store apps on it, For those asking about fast charging( am not 100% sure) but i think it does, it does charge very fast! Nokia 5 has better screen, better audio, longer battery life, overall design is nicer (this is matter of opinion) and last but definitely not least: software support! HMD has already said that Nokia 5 will get Oreo and even next major version Android P :) XA probably will not get Oreo.

Been using my nokia for a month. Whenever I use Facebook and Messenger it keeps crashing damn often. Almost as if I cant scroll around Fb for more than 3 mins. Also when my Messenger is active and my phone screen goes off or locked, it would take me multiple attempts to light up my phone again. A very disappointing moment from my nokia 5, I chat with nokia support girl and she advised me to format my sd card so that it can be used as internal. But unfortunately after formatting, it can no longer show and can't be use on any devices including this one, memory card I have been using for two years. Why can't I store apps on sd card until I format it? Other phones are not like this, HMD should work on this issue please. And the background apps is very terrific. You can not minimizes any app and switch to another, the page must refreshe which is very disappointing. Ringing volume always increase to 100% by itself. Phone camera is now not good after the update. Someone should help please.

Hi... I am using this phone since August. I agree with you. Phone is good. But about the call duration problem, I also had it at the beginning. But they fixed it with an update. I don't remember when exactly because I kept using another dialer app. But in default dialer app it doesn't have that problem anymore :-) Try updating the phone.... :-)

Has been using this phone for past 3.5 months. Phone is overall good. Chinese phone makers seems to upset at Nokia come back as the negative comments indicate. Call clarity,sound quality excellent. Camera above average. Net browsing fast, no hanging issue. Minor heating issues compared to moto or other brands. One glitch is it shows faulty time in call duration. You have to subtract 30 minutes for every call that exceeds a minute, and if call exceeds an hour cycle repeats under one hour again. That is if you called 1 hour 25 minutes it will show 55 minutes.

Nokia 5 frankly is a very good looking premium phone and the most durable phone ever. I have tested the durability test unknowingly as i dropped it very badly without any tempered glass and it survived very well. The only thing weird is the storage part I'm not sure if someone has tried to transfer apps, songs etc.. from phone memory to micro sd card it does not have that option. All the apps you download goes into the phone memory from where you don't have an option to transfer it to the Micro SD Card.

Oh yeah. And I missed 4th question. Bootloader is locked on this phone. Juho Sarvikas (CEO or whatever of HMD Mobile) on twitter mentioned that it's going to be unlocked at some point. It's unknown when. Although guys on xda developers found out how to install custom recovery that allows flashing stuff and rooting. And changing PPI - I cannot find it anywhere on my Nokia 5. Interesting. I thought that's an option for all the android phones. Overall.. Before this phone I had custom ROM customized to the every single pixel and this phone was a bit of a let-down when I saw the lack of customization options. It feels limited even for android devices. It's not as bad as Apple products, where you can change literally nothing. Well.. there's only one option left: waiting for custom ROM for this phone.

1. Performance's good. Well.. For me at least. It varies from person to person. On Antutu it (2GB version) scored over 45.000. That's about Samsung Galaxy S5 (Galaxy S series is the best reference point, because it shows how phones evolved). 2. No clue what's that. Maybe someone else will answer. 3. Multitasking if quite phenomenal for 2GB. I think I managed to hold all the pre-installed apps (well.. maybe only system apps) on it. That's like what.. 10 apps? On the other hand, 7.1.2 update completely ruined it, as you can see the comments. Not a single app is being held on RAM. So if you're considering buying this phone - do not update past September patch. That's where I am at. 5. I believe that's an option for every android, isn't it? Never looked for it. Will update on that later (phone is like 10 meters away from me, too lazy to pick it up :D). 6. Screen on time is not ridiculously good. It's well above average though. At least. Do not have exact numbers right now. I watched like 3 hour movie on full brightness. It still had like 50% left. Plus there was a lot of usage of new Skype app that just eats battery.

I'm using nokia 5 for past three months....I didn't find any problems in my day to day usage... A clean and fluid stock android experience and i got perfect performance.A good battery life which was lasting upto one day of my mixed high usage......but it ISN'T APPLICABLE for gamers....this phone survived very easily when playin games above 300 mb... when it goes about 950 mb i feel some hanging problems....I think that snapdragon 430 chipset is not fully optimised tor full performance.But I got android update of 7.1.2 last week and phone runs smoothly now.but this phone has good value for money when it was bought by moderate users like me,but its not a perfect choice for heavy gamers.....camera quality is decent at back 13 mp shooter but a perfect 8 mp sensor for selfie was given and I liked that so much.IF you want to buy nokia 5... definitely you buy it.IT HAS BEST PERFORMANCE FOR MODERATE TO HEAVY USERS.BUT if u need a very high performance oriented phone for gaming,nokia 6 will be opt for you with fully optimised snapdragon 430 chipset and adreno 505 for graphics..

Avoid last update to 7.1.2 it makes multitasking is useless. Same problem as a lot of users below. Problem is support for Nokia is useless and they even don't know problem properly. After few chat's with them different solutions nothing has been fixed. Support is hoping to resolve problem in a future and they are saying it is a feature not a big! Don't allow your Nokia 5 to update to 7.1.2 (October Security). The update has introduced a multi-tasking memory management bug which causes the Nokia 5 to kill all background tasks and apps over a short period following a restart. The handset will work as normal after a reboot, but after an hour or so the number of background apps will be limited to 3, even if there is ample free RAM. Over time, the number of background tasks that can be run decreases to the point where only the foreground app currently in use is retained in memory, and only while it is on screen. All background apps are closed immediately after pressing the home key or using 'recents' to switch between apps. The apps will always reload from scratch, making multi-tasking impossible. Eventually, the bug also starts to affect system processes, the handset kills all OS related tasks, which causes extreme lag and system crashes. Touch is a little bit irresponsible. While scrolling pages, you can notice this.I've checked my other friends' too.Sometimes it requires twice or thrice to make a touch command to work. Nokia go home! You're drunk! Maybe you have the stock android but is at his worst. After last firmware update for Nokia 5 everything is wrong with the phone. Apps cannot detect if phone is connected to wireless(whatsapp backup). Very big delay in receiving notifications, even if the phone is connected to wireless. Very laggy apps,(messenger, facebook, whats). Vibration feedback at keyboard is similar to nokia 3310(the old one)-very strong, and you cannot do anything beside that. Also is missing the "vibrate only" option from top bar. Only "do not disturb" option is available. So if you consider buying this phone, I recommend thing twice!

There should be tutorials in the internet on how to do it with every android device. You can format SD card as an internal storage (it's the first thing that comes up when you insert a new SD card). This way it expands your primary storage and essentialy it will upload downloaded files there (when the real internal storage will run out). But only con about it is that it won't work with any other devices. It will require to be reformatted (all the files will be deleted) to be used with other phones.

1. Download some file explorer or use Downloads app. It will suck to do through Downloads, but it's doable. 2. Open drop-down menu (just swipe from the top of the screen), hold settings gear icon for couple of seconds, some additional menu in settings will open (System UI, TuneIn or something like that) and you can do that there.

yes my bro got it last week....so after seeing/feeling it for a week i can surely say that its way better than samsung's j series of same price bracket (i can say coz mine is j7 lol). due to its stock android and more than excellent optimisation makes it so damn smooth.all in all no lags. looks beautiful as you hold in hand (in pics it looks boring design), but its exactly opposite.Finger print scanner is mounted on the front side which in my opinion is easy to access and not to forget its accuracy to scan.yes rear cam is good (not excellent though) but front cam is excellent. OS perfectly optimised as well as ram management. Running on andy 7.0 out of the box but got 7.1.2 update as soon as i connected it to wifi, now thats great. I bought nokia 5 yesterday, below are my review. 1. Built quality is awesone!! But its slippery due to metal finish so be careful 2. Design is good but i dont like the markng at the back bottom indicated the designer and manufacturer, nokia marking is much better just like before. 3. Resolution 1280x720 , some fixel are visible. I think this is the downfall of nokia 5. I owned 1280x1080 smartphone so i can see the difference. But, the display at 100% brightness its bright and clear. 4. Camera front and back is above ave. Possibly due to 1280x720 display. 5. Battery endurance is great, with 1280x720 display and low processor, it can get you throughout the day with one time charging, except if you are heavy user like gamers. 6. Processor, i saw some lag when i played games. So this phone is not for heavy games, but it can handle moderate games. 7. RAM 2GB at 7.1.1 it consumed 1.2GB, but after 7.1.2 update, RAM consumed 0.9GB, so its a big boost!!! 8. 7GB int. Memory out of 16GB. You can use separate memory card. For me 7GB is enough. 9. Speaker is loud and decent. From 1-10, my rating for nokia 5 is 9/10 for midrange. remember this is a mid range smartphone. At this price with stock android its a winner!!! Smartphone depends on how you will use it, nokia 5 is for ave user. Some people dont understand the specs of smartphone, they just depend on high RAM, high int. Memory, high pixel camera, etc. But in reality they are not using it 100%.

Note that it has a poor display, which the review here failed to point out, but others did. I had a nokia 5 for one day, i thought the big lcd would be acceptable for video but NO, display refresh is much too slow. On 30fps the previous frames are still visible, and at 60fps its a total blur in fast moving areas of the video - its probably showing 6 frames simultaneously. Other reviews has stated this phone is not suitable for youtube, this is maybe the main problem of this phone.

Specs never describe a phone. Specs are a rough guideline. Like octacore, it has never translated into higher performance but in a spec list its a big deal, despite being blown away by the more than 4 year old dualcore ip 5s. Same as with cars, any cheap Kia has a long specs list with lots of features, much longer than a Ferrari, does it mean Kia Make only supercars?

Good specs for the price, but i sold mine the same day i got it. The display was too slow to play videos, it was almost full blur at 60fps (in areas of fast move), and while sharp at 30fps the previous frame was present in the current frame. This is a well known issue with IPS panels on budget phones but i still feel this is due to wrong priorities, they could have settled for a cheap body and put in a better panel.

Worst phone I have ever been in possession of. The number of major problems and irritating smaller things will be too long, so will just mention few things which make using this phone a constant headache: Not sure if that's a feature of every Nokia 5 or just problem with my particular phone, but it doesn't really let you use memory cards. Technically it does, but only allows 2 options - either use it for apps storage or for pictures. In first case the camera stops working, saying that it didn't find the memory, in second case the camera often fails to save pictures. Have tried 3 different cards, 2 of them successfully used in other phones. Same result. Also no matter if you use memory card or not, copying anything from your PC to this phone is almost a hopeless venture. In most cases it fails, in rare cases it tries, but that takes forever. Another big headache is very weak battery combined with super easy switching ON/OFF button and touch sensor thanks to which this phone more that just often switches itself on while in my pocket/bag or anywhere at all. And there is no possible software option to block it/ avoid this problem, protective case didn't help also. But even without it, its battery life is usually not enough till the end of working day. By the time I get home battery is usually empty, and that's without playing games, listening to music and watching videos, well, almost without calls even. Just a few whatsapp messages, checking email and social media and reading for a book for half an hour or so is too much for this phone. Well, here is already too many letters so will not mention problems with sound, absence of many useful features available at most other phones and some connectivity problems. What is good though, is the design and speed. Camera is quite ok also. Oh, should also mention that all of the sudden started to have problems with touchscreen. First started to experience some no response moments when pressing on some parts of the screen, few days later it almost stopped behaving properly. Maybe this was a final drop to write this reference. First in my life.

Hi.... I am facing the same issue sometimes. I have also done the resetting thing. Didn't work. Restarting did work.. But what I do now is just changing the settings and put it back to the first state. For example- Normally my go to sleep duration is 2 minutes. When the problem occurs I go to settings and just tick on one minute duration and then again select 2 minutes duration. Then come out of settings. After that phone goes to sleep.... :-) Hoping HMD will fix this with an update soon. :-)

My Nokia has periods when it refuses to "sleep". You can turn it off , not power off though, with the power button or allow it to go into sleep. It immediately turns back on and so it cycles on off on off until you physically restart the phone. I have done 2 factory resets and the problem persists. I have a Nokia TA 1024

Some comments might be true. As you know there are 4 variants of Nokia 5 that are sold in separate countries. Some of those variants might be buggy or something. But mainly I believe most are false. Before buying phone just check specifications. You won't create a miracle out of cheaper products. You can get worse, but that's with crappy Chinese brands (Xiaomi for example). Nokia wants it's status back. It won't give you a crappy product.

Bad comments seems like sponsored comments from the threatened competition. My nokia 6 is always on LTE i get over 2 days battery backup and it never got hot.. Unlike my LG G3. Same 3gb ram and 32gb inbuilt. I also fancy the raw Android7.0.

This phone is really great for its price point. I have had it now for almost 2 months and below are my points to note; Cons: 1. The 2GB RAM is at times choppy depending on the app you are running. 2. The fingerprint scanner takes some seconds to turn on the display. 3. When notifications come in the display won't come on (this can be good actually in saving battery life). 4. There is no fast charging so you have to be patient when charging. Pros: 1. The near stock android experience is really great with regular updates - am running Sept security updates!!! 2. The overall IU and performance is very fluid and responsive. I have a device with 3GB RAM and my Nokia is just as fast! I ran several benchmark tests and my Nokia was at par with a device with 3GB RAM running an octacore chip: Basemark OS II-2.0 score--------------------------985 Geekbench 4 single core score-------------------668 Geekbench 4 multi core score---------------------2635 3. The build quality is simply awesome and beautiful to look at. Very durable too. 4. Multi tasking is very good thanks to Android 7.1.1 multi window. 5. The 5.2 inch display is excellent even under direct sunlight and the device is comfortable to hold on one hand. 6. The battery life is very good and I have managed a full day and some hours before recharging. And i am a moderate internet and media user. 7. The camera and video are of good quality. There are more competent experts who have done camera and video reviews. 8. The sound quality is really good using the single speaker at the bottom. Overall, the nostalgia aside, Nokia are really back. This device is great and i intend to keep it for a while. It is obviously nostalgic to have that trademark Nokia tune ringing on my excellent Nokia 5 Android Smartphone.

I find this phone great. I don't even know why would anyone go for Nokia 6 when you don't get anything special (yeah the bigger screen) If you are a business user this is a phone to have. I don't play games, don't do much besides calling ,emailing, browsing and news reading. That's all. It lasts a day, it takes decent pictures during the day and it's one of the better built phones out there. I have the touch screen issue, touch screen spazzes out and has to be turned off to work a whilr tlhen random stlpazz out again. i have it after using galaxy j7 for a year i love Nokia so good camera is good battery work with me for a day i guess u didnt use the phone :)
