Hi everyone, please am having this issue with my Nokia 6, the back camera & flashlights are not working, at times when I tried to restart, reboot my phone, clear cache data the back camera would come back & it's flashlights, but now have tried same thing, no toggle option for back camera & flashlights in camera app, only front camera works. please I need solution to it as soon as possible. My phone wouldn't turn on, 3 days before I went to America, t I took it to Ca Phone Wharehouse, they sent it back. Being without it cost me money. It wascreturem last week, my comtact list, wiped. My bank app wiped, my wharprda app. I've struggled to get everything back on. Now I can't turn it off. I tried calling it, phone can't take calls. It's going to cost my another £30 to take it back to CPW.

well... i solved each and every problem by just the 'support chat'.it took a very short time. still didn’t found any diffect till november 2017. use it as it is compatible of.everything would be fine. peace....

I don't understand these negative comments. I have the TA-1000 - and it's a brilliant phone! I've updated to Pie - and tested it on 7.1 and Oreo. I haven't had a single issue. I've dropped this phone numerous times, and thanks to the hard casing - it's still going strong. I had several phones, from iPhones to Sony - this Nokia is the best

I think the heat is coming from the SoC and not from the battery itself.. Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 is still quite hot because it's essentially an "optimize" or maybe tone down version of Snapdragon 615, which is hot.. Every devices using this SoC suffered this issues (especially devices with aluminum backplate)

So I have a Nokia 6 2017 running Android pie which gives me about 26 hours on a full charge without extensively streaming YouTube videos and preforms amazingly I've had it for around a year and six months and still performs like the day I bought it Overall it is an amazing phone if you maintain it in a proper manner and don't overuse it unnecessary.

Bought this phone ~6 months ago. For starters, within about a month the max call volume dropped down to about a quarter of the strength that it should be. Can't hear a damn thing, all calls must be made on speakerphone mode. Ive looked for hours online with no apparent solutions. So many other frustrating things about it. IMO It's an absolute piece of crap, avoid at all costs.

I was proud owner of Nokia 6 for several months. Lately, no more! I reject Nokia 6 as a great phone due to the fact that there are growing white dead pixels on the screen. The other thing that annoyed me is the battery longevity: after fully charged the life of Nokia power drains quickly in less than 15 minutes! All these mishaps surfaced before the deadline of its warranty. Planning to bring it to my Nokia service center in my hometown and later I shall sell it for US$ 100. One of my nearest favorite smartphone seller salesman told me that the manufacturer and distributor of Nokia (Nokia) in China had little respect on this European-brand smartphone. In short, HMD people pays little attention of Nokia quality because "Nokia" name is outside of China. Take note on the quality of Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo and other Chinese-brand gadgets, most of them are stellar quality in terms of workmanship, design and strength.

Nokia is still third class company for android.shocket charging is major issue and service is not good. They deliver phone after 1month it's massive time taken by Nokia.. for service.don't purchase Nokia phone. They look only smart but range of bluetooth, wifi,and sim network is very less.

not bad for a phone, camera is good and makes the pic more realistic with flash than what my old phone did, storage space is massive, most info i have on the phone are backed up on clouds making it safe for me to hard reset when i'll need to, the only problem is that the home button/ fingerprint sensor causes my screen to wake up continuously and in order for it to stop doing so i have to press the home button then turn off the screen(not a big deal)

For all those having problems, especially after upgrading to Pie, you should hard-reset the phone through recovery, wipe cache and data then set the phone up from scratch, don't restore any backups, everything should be brand new, battery life is the same as Oreo, the phone is a bit faster or the same as Oreo, but not slower.. If you miss some features (e.g quick ring sound adjustment) then that's Android's fault not Nokia's.. might be fixed in the feature.. Also, you should remove unnecessary apps that you don't use, disable all error reporting and service enhancement programs.. disable Digital Well Being, services not needed etc.. For the age/price of this device it's dong pretty well in 2019..

Honestly the worst phone I've ever bought. No storage room, apps have to restart all the time, takes 2 minutes for it to load to be able to type a text. I can't exit out All of my apps that I've used because the button to show what's running doesn't work. Just a horrible phone. I regret it.

Almost a year my Nokia 6.0 is doing fine. A tough hard core handphone with its hardness is appropriate to hit a running rat. Except the screen! Gradually a white translucent spot appeared at the middle of the screen and became a grown blemish. I suppose Nokia 6 screen is made from an amazing glass material but the proof made me think other way around. Shall send it back to Nokia service center in my hometown.

Yes bro... Worst phone ever used. Navigation keys stopped working after stupid update. Noise cancellation is so poor that no body can hear while i am speaking if i am outside home... Even if i am at my home, the microphone picksvery less vocal sound... Nokia phones are just piece of junk that u can throw randomly anywhere and it wont break.... Never ever going to trust Nokia.

Same with me. My colleagues ask me how I am using without case or screen guard. The phone gives the confidence that it don't need any protection. I dropped twice already, it's still as new except the NOKIA letters at back. Letter I fell in just one month after buying, the last letter to fall was letter O which happened last August, nearly at the end of 1 year.

I thing you people don't take care of your phones. First let me tell you that nokia is just a brand and it's name has been used by a company called HMD global and that's why Nokia is even stronger than any other mid range smartphone company. If you want to get most from your phone for these steps 1: go to battery section in settings then go to background apps enable wishlist then select the spa you don't want to run in background. 2 : go to Wifi settings click advanced then turn off scan WiFi during sleep. 3: go to location settings click on scanning th men choose battery saving. 4: contact Nokia support team for more info Love Nokia. They might be behind some smartphone brand but when i see my nokia device i feel proud. NOKIA IF YOU SEE THIS KEEP WORKING HARD YOU WILL GET YOUR NO 1 POSITION BACK.

I am very disappointed with Nokia 6.1. The major drawback is it does not have LED notification. Sound notification does not work properly, it turns on and off by itself. The system time changes by itself and is not saved when reset. Txt smart prompt does not turn off and is annoying. Overall I will never buy Nokia again.

It can fit sim 2, I keep my NOKIA 6 without protection. It has 2-3 drops on concrete but no damage. I'm very proud of my accquisition. I use no protection. Only downsite is the letters K and I from the back NOKIA felt. They just simply felt off the phone. In the rest, it is working just fine, battery is awesome. Say hello to all Nokia owners!

Very happy with this phone. Switched from a Moto G4 and the added GB of RAM makes this phone just so much better, despite having a 400 series CPU. It feels sturdy in the hand and it can sit up right on a table if that's what you're looking for. The battery lasts an entire day with no problems (i.e. I have full battery and it gets to 30% after 7 or so hours of Youtube and a couple of games). The things that I don't like about this phone are: absence of custom ROMs (that's the company's fault, not the phone's), pretty bad audio quality on video recordings and no image stabilization.

I got this phone (4gb/64gb) two days ago. Here is what I observed in this short time: 1. Build quality and feeling-in-hand is very good. 2. Smooth functions. 3. Good looking 4. Good display 5. New Android updates 6. Better battery life (compared to Samsung with same specs and battery. 10% in one hour using internet and browsing which I guess is very fair). 7. Beautiful crystal clear sound. (I don't get those who complain about it). 8. Compliments on it's good looks, lol it's true. One thing that bothered me was the absence of "LED Notification Light". If you are browsing this opinion section then don't wait any longer I know their are some comments from unfortunate people or you can say people with extraordinary expectations could turn you off. But if you are here and I know you want this device but confused then don't be confused anymore, if this is in your budget, GET IT, you will not regret for this budget device. I hope it helped and made your journey end here.

Nokia phones get quick updates. My 5.1 plus has the December security patch and android 9 is seeding to the 5.1 plus so what you say is not true. The Nokia 6 2017 will even get android 9 pie. I strongly recommend to buy Nokia phones because of quick updates and reliability.

I would recommend not to use dark themes. This device has LCD display and so using dark themes will not be beneficial as LED displays have. Alternately, using bright themes is preferred since you can lower the brightness and so save energy.

Mileage really just varies to different people. Some people expect too much to this device. Take note that this has a low-end processor, no wonder making it a failed device. But that doesn't mean I'm hating my Nokia 6 2017 experience. Sure, I have an issue or two with my device, but it doesn't really overwhelms the great stuff.

this is the stock android phone so you won't get extras. you will get all necessary apps from google pre-installed. but you can customize it by downloading apps from the play store.

to improve battery life, turn off some of the options like bluetooth, location, nfc etc. use black theme on the screen as well as in the apps like Twitter dim the screen display if not using it. turn on the option of 30 seconds for the display off options. close apps in the back grouond if not required. some of the 4G network may consume more battery. update the software and security patches regularly. use clean master regularly for removing junk files and freeing up the ram restart the phone every two weeks or whenever ram reaches 300-400mb. it will improve the phone speed drastically.

It is hard to believe but some people have found that older versions of Chrome browser had an option that read something like "let websites have access to audio/camera". After the update this option is missing. Maybe the speaker thing has got something to do with it. I guess a Sony ninja can give a better answer. SOLUTION: UPDATE THE CHROME BROWSER. OR 1) Disable Chrome 2) Restart phone 3) Try calling your phone from another number. 4) Answer. 5) Now it won't go to the speaker directly as it used to Earlier when the problem persisted, I noticed that the first call after a period of time when the phone was switched off and switched on, always went to the speaker. This has not happened since I disabled Chrome.

This phone do not notify you about the latest update like iPhone does. Do this... Goto Settings >> System >> System Update and then tap on Click for Update. You must get the latest update info. I have October 2018 security patch. If you still don't get then restart the phone with or without inserting the SIM and follow the above instruction.

i think this is the common problem for android phones. to get rid of hanging issues, do 2 things.... 1. install clean master and clean the RAM and junk files periodically. 2. RESTART YOUR PHONE AFTER EVERY 2 WEEKS. you won't face hanging issues thereafter.

I have this phone for 3 months. I have updated it to 8.1 as soon as I have turned it on. It worked perfectly fine for 2 months, it was too good to be true for mid range phone. But last month it became super slow... I mean, sometimes it takes more than 10 seconds to open some casual apps (like Facebook, YouTube, and even 9gag)... Also, it happens sometimes that it can't open app at all. And what frustrates me the most, is that I don't know if I should wait 10 seconds, or I should restart it because of frozing... I have TA-1021 legal, not bought on internet. Is there something (beside selling it) that I can do?

At this price point all phones are interchangeable commodities. Small screen like I wanted. Performance is as expected for the price. Camera is great though the application has strange settings (ex beautify slider). Missing barometric and temperature sensors but otherwise has the the standard smartphone capabilities. Metal back and quite durable dropped several times on commercial office floor tiling with no issues.

I've upgraded my Nokia 6 to Android 8.0. Works perfectly fine and the updates makes certain apps works slightly better than before e.g. Camera and Google Photos. 3. Reasonably loud speakers. 4. Good battery life. Fully charged battery can be used for an entire day. CONS: 1. Back surface is too slippery and slick. TPU case is a must for this device. I once used this phone without TPU case and it accidentally slipped out from my hand and landed heavily on the floor and my screen loses its touch sensitivity (but still can be used) 2. Stock Android UI is boring. 3. No adjustable equaliser when playing music. Only DOLBY setting is available.

I have nokia 6 that i had bought from KSA. I am using it in Pakistan. I have tested many carrier sim cards, phone shows signal strength very low, whereas on the other handset same network shows full signals. Only ZONG network seems to be working fine, full signals ,4G connectivity all the time. If it was a hardware issue , all sims shouldn't work properly. I tired the code *#*# 4636 #*#* to change the network mode in 'phone information' tab. currently it shows 'unknown' , when i change it to WCDMA preffered or wcdma/lte other sim cards also shows full signal strength but only for few seconds , and then they are reduced to 1 or sometimes 2 bars only. When i dial the code *#*# 4636 #*#* again to see the network mode, it again shows unknown. seems like changes were made for few seconds only. I am currently on 8.1 oreo. tried restarting after changing these settings , did factory reset nothing works. please help me out. Sorry for the bad English though.

I use it more than 6 months. If you can use it with Android 7 don't update it. It's great phone for taking picture and using social networks, but not that good for playing games. Don't install apps to full memory. It's become very slow. Instagram crash every day on Oreo, camera have bugs... Oreo have bugs on this phone. Don't update it. Before that Oreo update this was a best phone I ever buy. Battery is great, once I make 5 min call after its been more than half hours on 1% battery (battery saver mode / wifi off, mobile internet networks off, sound off, vibrations off, everything off), sound is great (it was little to loud on first Oreo versions). I always liked Nokia because of its powerful but after it migrated to other companies I don't fell that I am holding original Nokia phone. I have Nokia 6.1 with Oreo OS. Pros- (1)Good Looking metal body (2) Fast Charging (3) good display colour reproduction Cons- (1) horrible sound quality either in headphone or in loudspeaker. Sometimes when I pick call loudspeaker turns on automatically but the loudspeaker symbol show's off. It can't beat Samsung 1500 range simple mobile. (2) bad camera quality. Vivo has better quality in this range. (3)it has 3 GB Ram but it not seems to be working like that. Redmi note 5 pro has better performance and camera quality. When I play PUBG it becomes very slow. (4) battery draining too fast. You can't go for long drive without carrying power bank.

I owned a N6 TA1039 for only 2 days. Bought it in my country (Chile) because packaging said Android 7.1.1, and i thought "just never update and i'll be fine", but when i bought the phone and turned it on... oh, ¡¡SURPRISE!!, it was Android V8.0!!! (i never updated it by my self, just turned it on and went to Developer options and selected the "don't update system" option). When i connected to internet though wifi, i realized of a few bad things: 1. Sometimes, whatsapp's notifications didn't sound in the phone until i turned the screen on. 2. Horrible ringtones sound quality thought loudspeaker. Headphones' sound was ok. Although, when you plug in the headphones, and play ringtones in menu, they sound awful through loudspeaker, but only the first time; if you play it for second time and further, the loudspeaker will sound ok. You can test it for yourself (please remember to always connect headphones, and Dolby setting must be on). So i conclude that the guilty of this bug was the Oreo update, not a hardware problem. I say it again: i never updated the device, it seems to have been updated by my carrier (Entel Chile) 3. Notifications sound level was too loud. The only solution i found was setting a lesser strident sound. I read a lot of reviews that said this problem wasn't present in the phone's original ROM (Nougat 7.1.1). 4. When you turn off camera's AWB, and select artificial light setting (and others scenarios i don't remember) were yellowish. Simply useless... prepare to be bounded to AWB ________ So, my advice, if you still want to buy this phone, get it in 7.1.1 Nougat version, and NEVER update it. Thanks

Well as long as you buy a Nokia it's good, Nokia 6.1 is a good looking phone in my opinion, little more refined in design than the Nokia 6. I'm a fan of those colored aluminium edges of the 6.1. i have nokia 6 (3gb/32gb). What I don't like about this phone is that when I'm playing games ( online or offline ) it heats up very quickly. I did make sure that I closed other apps before playing but even so, it still heats up really quick.

In this case, I would go for j7 pro. It has bigger battery and more importantly - its processor is manufactured in 14nm process in contrast to SD430 which is 28nm, so it will consume less power. Additionaly, the pics from the camera should be a bit brighter due to better " f ".

Nokia 6 is a tough rock-hard metallic smartphone. Like it is prepared for the worst nuclear scenario. As all things great and wonderful some have negatives too. The same goes for Nokia 6: gets hot easily when turned on and charging simultaneously thus one must be turned off the set. But the WORST part is why in Thor's hammer that Nokia embedded an opening tune when the equipment is turned on? It is so loud...LOUD, man!... that it wakes up the dead zombies! Sounds volume bugs. Alarm clock starts ringing with delay. 1st phone i ever seens that alarm is delaying and it stops only if somebody press "stop". If not - after the battery dies. Android sucks here. The hardware is strong (phisically). I've dropped it already 5-6 times (not so bad but still) and it's still in perfect condition. But the software brutally sucks. Almost nothing is working well. Too many bugs.

Agree with most of your points as I've had this phone for almost 11 months now and counting and I'm pretty satisfied with it. I particularly liked its audio as it's louder and clearer and sounds are crisp as compared to most phones. It's durable indeed as I've accidentally dropped this phone a couple of times and it's still alive and kicking at 11 months old! :D Just some cons for me on the camera side is that it can take some time to get the cam ready and may tend to hang & recover slow when I use it for longer period of time. But overall, I feel that Nokia promise of durable built on this phone.

The worst phone you can waste your money on. The battery cannot last 12 hrs in normal use. The Facebook app started 'stopped working' behavior on the 3rd day. Something that happens from the 8th month in good phones. The Nokia 6 doesn't come with a media player and a file manager. Unless you have money to buy premium apps, you have to put up with endless adverts as you enjoy your video. The fingerprint sensor sometimes decide not to be sensitive to touch. The 4G speed is pathetic. (I've had a faster 3G). This phone is total rubbish. Cheaper phones perform better by far.

I wanted to like this phone because It is a pretty phone.After the 8.1 Oreo update,the speakers went crazy.There was also performance lag.Wifi was always spotty even before update.I returned phone within 48 hrs.Do not buy this phone. I contacted Nokia support and they are aware of the speaker issue and said they were working on a fix for it but didn't know when that will be!I was not gonna wait.Do not buy until they iron out this sound issue.It's a shame because it has two speakers and Dolby Atmos which was rendered useless.Snapdragon 430 is pretty lame.It will be A long time before I buy Nokia again.....

Simple things like switching from photo to video mode in camera is a task of its own. It's not even one month and I am planning to switch to Samsung again. Yesteday my TA-1033 got an 8.1 update it works damn slow and freezes often. I'll try to make a hard reset. If it won't help I will wait for a patch. Otherwise I will return this phone as 8.1 is not optimised for this device

I am using this phone for few months now, and had no problems at all, accept accept occasional drop in perfomance. Yes, the camera is not so good. But i have installed google pixel camera app. Photos are amazing, also HDR+ option. So i don't even use the stock camera app, since the photos can't compare. But it is just a little bit slower camera app to use, but pictures are amazing.

This is the worst crap ive ever owned. Yeah, they took me on Nokia logo, yeah, marketing gods from China. But its not Nokia. Not even close. Its less than average quality china brick with NOKIA letters on its back. SO, this masterpiece is 1 month old and what do we have : 1) Freezes (no side apps) 2) Touch screen works with freezes and delays after touches. Build quality is good and I have not experienced all the other issues. The only issue I have is that my calls drop occasionally, which I suspect is a software issue due to updates etc.. I am sure that will be rectified. All together a decent effort

If you don't want Google apps you can get some 3rd party apps from store. This is the minimal system any manufacturer can provide. The next step would be getting rid of all the apps, so your phone will be bare-bones with just the os. If nuts does that, then people will complain that the phone has nothing and everything has to manually installed. Alternative is Nokia developing all the apps, which is impossible for all the apps and the experience may be bad with bugs. Still one would think that they are sharing their data with Nokia and the like. This is the best option as you are sharing data with just one entity Google.

In fact it is far better to have a phone, such as the Nokia 6, with lean, clean, pure OS instead of a phone that is bloated with crapware, adware, totally useless Apps and in addition with manufacturers GUI "layer". Usually the pre-installed Apps can not be uninstalled so they only eat storage memory space. And the Manufacturers GUI usually only makes the "experience" way more difficult than it needs to be.

This is a good phone with good battery, but has several issues I am yet to come to terms with. The camera is poor with a backlight that is not white, and it makes the pictures dark, not revealing true colours. Everything on the phone is Google controlled. The contacts are not saved to the phone, but to email, which is good, but not for privacy. The photos are only viewed on Google photos. Music can only be played on Google Music only. I had to download VLC. No safe to conceal documents and phones. There is no photos gallery. One has to go to the Files Folder to view pictures. No notepad, but Google Keep, which does not store text. Everything about the phone is Google this, Google that. It is frustrating. I thought I was buying a Nokia 6, and not a Google phone.

What is "the best" app varies greatly, mainly from user to user (as there are no major device specific limitations/requirements with apps). For me "the best" app is such that does the job well __and__ does not require potentially dangerous permissions. That most often limits the selection into apps that are published as true/honest Freeware, Open Source, under GPL or such. For me this is purely a question of security, not at all about the price (I donate for such apps when that option is available). In case no such app are available then I prefer Payware over Adware (to the extent that I do not have any Adware apps installed) because the Adware apps are in my opinion the least secure (and Ads are very distracting). I have the following players installed: DJD Player by Mikael Ståldal, and Musicolet Music Player by Krosbits and VLC for Android by Videolabs. They are all "the best" for me.

Thanks for your information. I can confirm that's its not A, B and C. I don't have much of the 3rd party apps. I am coming from windows phone, so I don't have much debt. I use mobile only for calling and some browsing. Which are all handled by the bundled apps. The only app I installed is authenticator. I have good knowledge in electronic gadgets and mobiles to the point that I am the go-to guy for buying decisions. I am not deliberately bashing, as you can understand from my previous post where I have highlighted the pros of this phone as well as hinted that the cons are solved via latest updates. The reason I mentioned that issue is because when I bought this phone I recommend my colleague to buy this too. He too got the loudspeaker not working issue and he got fed up and sold it. When only a few users reports an "issue" it is either due to: A) an 3rd party app that misbehaves, or B) lack of knowledge, or C) deliberate slander, bad mouthing. In __extremely__ rare cases, that are due to component/hardware failures, it can be a real issue, and sometimes major, as an example the case where some ppm of the delivered batteries explodes (note: it is not necessarily the battery product that has such a random fault). Obviously a software bug very very rarely is random by nature, so when one user is affected by a software bug then all user are affected __very similarly__. Now then, when very many users reports about a specific (very similar) issue, then it likely is real issue, but not necessarily a major issue. Currently the situation with Dolby Atmos option is a minor real issue, it affects to the level of sound volume of ringtones/notifications, videos and music, but not to the volume level of phone calls. The bypass for this minor issue is to switch the Dolby enhancement to OFF, this makes it possible to use the phone without irritatingly loud notification and entertainment volume levels. I'm a music aficionado so to me personally the current issue with Dolby Atmos sound enhancement is somewhat a "big deal" but practically, in the reality, it is just a minor issue and therefore I do not jump from forum to forum lunging out about my "disappointment" daily. Because most of the players apps that I use have a built-in equalizer that provides quite similar tone adjustment. Yes, I do follow the community forum (and several other Nokia 6 and Android forums) daily but I no longer post to the Nokia community forum anything because I have other things to do than to write directly into the sensors waste bin.

At this point of time it's not advisable to get Nokia 6 2017 model, especially if it's price has not come down drastically. Check for the latest models. I would advise not to go blindly for brand name. See if the model matches your requirements and then the manufacturers software update/patch support and warranty support. I have Nokia 6 and in my opinion is a good mobile, little costly for its tech specs, but it's build quality is awesome. Display is better than others in its price range, and it recieve regular updates - security patches around the first half of every month and upgrades in around 4 months. Face few issues like alarm not working, heading etc during the initial updates which were resolved in subsequent updates. Currently one of the two loudspeakers is not working after 8.1 update, which I think is resolved at service centres by software update, as per online forums.

I highly recommend not to buy this nokia 6 and it is really an annoying handset i have ever seen. It had some good features like display size and resolution along with battery performance and stock android experience but the camera is very poor (it is told 16mp but in reality 5 mp performance), call settings and proximity sensor poor performance, sound is sometimes weird and camera flash doesn't worthy in capturing photos in low light. I bought the phone from Elisa Finland last week as I am from Finland.

Ridiculous phone. Now after paying USD200 you don't expect much but HMD Global is wrecking the brand name of Nokia. Bought the Version1 in early Feb. The first two weeks were completely fine. Recovering from the last two disasters of HTC and before that Lenovo, I was happy to be back with the Nokia brand. The Made in India tag assured me it would be a decent quality phone. Little did I know what was in store for me. Call drops and issue with sound both outgoing and incoming started as Vodafone switched to VoLTE. Next the phone started to lag and hang continuously. It was not that I had a ton of apps, the phone memory was 40pc free. The audio quality also started detoriating as did the 4G speed. I never expected this from Nokia like brand. Waiting for Diwali new launches to retire this phone. Think twice before buying. I really hope HMD takes notice or they are going to get finished by Xiaomi Opportunity and Vivo in India

My GS7 went dead and I was looking for a budget phone temporary, I found this one and paid $229 for it, Got 3GB of RAM, 16 MP camera rear, 8 MP front but not great to be honest, pure stock android so no unnecessary apps. I love the phone it's fast and quick but sometimes will slow down temporary. Screen size and quality is phenomenal and I was surprised getting all this for only $229. The only down side of it is the speakers and call quality. The speakers are awful and very low volume. When you talk on the phone the call quality is not good at all and I hope Nokia really consider this, because so far they are wining me as customer again. I haven't played any games or heavy use on this phone but I will update my review if anything changed. I do recommend the phone regardless of the speakers.

Nugx, most (if not all) of these heavy hearted, outpourings about some vague "problems" are being written by resentful ex-Nokians who lost their jobs some years ago because of reorganizations and sales of the phone business to MS. In reality the Nokia 6 is a very good smartphone, and well built also. I use it daily when driving, navigating using Google Map AND video recording the traffic (using it as a dashboard cam) AND streaming mp3 music via Bluetooth to the stereo system of the car AND serving network via the hotspot for the passenger(s) , ALL those simultaneously and the phone works absolutely perfectly and smoothly (in fact, there is nothing to wonder about, I did exactly the same about 7 years ago with the HTC Desire HD phone that had Android 2.3). Currently the updated Nokia 6.1 is being introduced here and there, it came to Finnish market a few days ago and immediately the lowest price of the Nokia 6 was set to 149 euros. At such low price it is an extremely good purchase (the opportunity window likely does not last long). I paid the full price of 249 euros about 8 months ago and the phone has been and is worth of every cent. I'm considering to buy another one for standby backup purposes just in case I lose the phone or I get robbed or such.

Same here, I bought Nokia 6 on April 9 as a gift for my mother and 5 days later navigation menu and fingerprint scanner are no longer working. I sent the phone for repair and the technician says this is the first time they have received such compliant, this shows that what they told me is a big lie and I will tell to that person that I am not the only one who experience such problem. Now it will take probably a week to replace the chip in the phone for the navigation & fingerprint scanner, very disappointed even the phone has 2 years warranty but just using it for 5 days already has a problem it really bothers me if the phone will last.

I am using Nokia 6 from Feb 25th 2018, phone is working well without any problem. Photographs taken on bright sunlight and morning light and evening light are awesome. Only in dim light , or in night ,camera performance is average. Listening songs through Dolby Atmos is great. If original recording of songs are good, then those songs listening in Nokia 6 , with stereo effect is superb. For me phone is satisfactory.

Seafreed, the quality of _all_ the 16 Mpx smartphone cameras sucks very similarly, they all use the same or very similar very tiny imaging sensors. In my opinion the 16 Mpx image size is usable only for special purposes and only to skilled individuals. The quality of 4 Mpx images is much better since the image data from each group of 4 tiny pixels (of the 16 mpx sensor) are averaged (by median) into one final pixel in the 4 Mpx image.

As an answer to your question: I'd say that you posting is against the Posting Rules: "No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand". I have had the Nokia 6 (2017) now about 7 months, it has had no problems what so ever. It is a sturdy, fast and capable phone. It can smoothly USB OTG HDDs that have 2TB volume (2.5 inch disk that take no external power source) and still everything runs smoothly, that is something! Even one 2TB disk holds quite a lot of music and movies. Having such an entertainment set on travel is very nice since all network/cloud access is extremely expensive while on travel. What I have found irritating is that some updates can be downloaded by WiFi only, not over the 4g, I believe this annoyance is delivered to us by Google, not HMD. So, to download those updates I must move the SIM card from Nokia 6 to one of my older phones and enable the HotSpot in that. Then I an able download the update via WiFi from that HotSpot. Finally I move the SIM back to the Nokia 6. I still have the Android v7.1.2 in the phone because it may be that there perhaps is one issue in the updated Android v8 OS. I'm yet not sure if that issue (ringing sound volume either too loud or too low) is true or not but until I can verify this rumor, that is being circulated diligently on several discussion forums) I chose not to update.

Are you able to see the bug (you may need to use a flashlight and magnifier glasses)? If it is visible you could try to pry it gently out using a pair of tweezers. I have found small insects in several of my gadgets, they can totally render some devices unusable, such as CD/DVD writers. For this reason I keep those gadgets that I use only rarely in tightly closed Mini-grip bags.

All phones and other electronic gadgets will get warm when they are used, it is not overheating, it is not heating up, it is not a problem, it is normal and a physical fact. When a phone warms up a little, you know that the design of the phone is good, the thermal energy that is generated in the phone (by the components, display, battery, etc) are properly cooled down (because the thermal energy is conducted and radiated out). Since the Nokia 6 has a sturdy aluminum body it is perfect from the viewpoint of cooling the device. Phones that never feel a little warm are poorly designed, the thermal energy is then accumulated inside the phone, this will reduce the life time of the device. It is advisable to use _high_ _quality_ charger and cable, preferably those that came bundled with the phone. I have been testing some absolutely horrible 3rd party chargers that are on the market, they are very cheap, I'd never use them for anything. Also there are cables that really are not designed for charging although they are sold as "data+charge" cables.

I'm not aware of any counterfeit Nokia Android phones. The Lumia series would have been a success if it wasn't with MS OS.. hardware, camera, design.. were ahead of their time. To compare Nokia 6 to A5.. Nokia has better sound quality, better camera, better OS, better screen, more durable, micro-USB & OTG vs type-c (personally I choose the first, until type-c become the real thing, not the new trend), and Nokia 6 is about 25% less price than the A5.. so I'd diffidently go for the Nokia. People buying Nokia would belive Nokia to be as it was from 2002 to 2010. However, since 2010 to 2018, there have been very fast market changers which had come in. Firstly it was dominated by Samsung, then other players like Micromax, Motorola and Redmi too came in and they started providing all the features at a low cost, which Samsung phones provided at a very high cost. In android, even Samsung's market had trembled. Now Nokia has come in maybe after trying gimmicks such as Lumia series and Windows mobile, thinking that they would succeed by coming in with new Android phones, maybe the new owners of Nokia, HMD global. But they need to understand what customers want is: high features at a low cost. If they wanted, they could had priced this phone at 7000. If I have to spend Rs. 16000, I would rather go with Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017). Samsung is always a leader in after sales support.

This is not a good phone. Sound quality is not good. Hands free also not giving good output. Battery is draining very fast. J7 Max (5.7" display) lost only 2% from 8 a.m. to 9.p.m. but Nokia 6 (5.5" display) drop until 15% on standby mode. I'm not happy about this phone.

There are smartphones with 10000mAh batteries, surely their charge will last longer compared to a phone with only 3000mAh. Very very surprising, stunning. How many times your Nokia 6 has been there for service, so far? What were the reasons of those service visits? Even if the service center does the wipe & reinstall and the device is updated to the latest OS+security, as soon as a new patch is available you will see if your "problem" still persists. JohnKoch, in my opinion the audio quality of both the speakerphone and the earpiece of eh phone is very good, as them selves. I always hear well the other party but sometimes when I have the speakerphone mode on someone at other end says that they can not hear me due to the echo. This is normal, it happens with all phones every now and then, there is a lot going on there in between the phones. How the speakerphone mode behaves in everyday use depends also on the end-to-end signal transmission path between the A and B subscribers, nowadays that path can be very different from call to call event to the very same number. Particularly the experience can be vastly different depending on if the other party is on a land-line phone or on mobile. And even from mobile to mobile the experience will vary party due to the differences of echo cancellation parameters/methods in the A and B mobiles and partly due to the total length of the path.. I'd say that the most difficult transmission situation is such where one of the parties is on speakerphone mode of a mobile phone and the other party is using speakerphone mode of a land-line phone and it is a very long distance call.

As far as I know Nokia 6 has no 480p slow motion mode, Nokia 6 only has one video mode, 1080p @ 30 fps. In case you are talking about video output from some 3rd party camera app then you'd likely find the answer more easily from the developer of such an app.

dMCU, such an issue that you are telling about is very very rare, I have not seen anyone else posting about such an issue on any Nokia 6 forums that I follow. Because your problem is so systematic and regular, and you have been suffering from it for a long period of time, then _why_ have you chosen not to go to the shop where you purchased the phone or to a nearby carepoint/servicepoint (with your phone and the sales receipt of course) and simply show them that the download does not progress??? It takes only a few minutes for them to determine that the download does not progress and then you'd get the phone fixed, in the case that there really is a problem in the phone. How do other kind of internet data-transfer operations, downloads, video streams, and such perform, do they get stuck similarly? I'd really like to understand why have you chosen to suffer from such an systematic and regular issue for a long period of time (many months) and simply do not have it fixed??? Instead you are simply asking here: "any one had this issue". In what way would an answer to your question help you with your problem in any way??? Do you believe that people are so shy that they are just silently following the discussions and not complain about such a long-lasting, irritating, systematic and regular issue on their own behalf, so that they are simply quietly waiting for someone to ask: "any one had this issue" and only after that would they have enough courage to explain what they have been experiencing???

The service/care points do not throw you away in the manner you describe. They will ask if you want to leave the phone in for inspections. You obviously have declined to do so, probably because they will charge a service free in case of a false claim. By what credentials you are eligible to determine what is "too much heating"? Why do you not explain at all what you are referring to with "too much heating"? Does it burn you skin? All electronic devices will warm up when they are operated. The responsible body and the main culprit is general physics combined with the fact that all electronic component in all electronic devices are not ideal, they are real components and one of their non-ideal properties is power consumption, the power they consume converts to heat energy. My Nokia 6 feels a little warm when under heaviest tasks, not that much that would raise concerns, I have had several phones that got much more warm in similar situations, again not that much that would raise concerns.

Using the original Nokia rapid charger, that came with the phone, it takes about 2 hours 30 mins to charge the battery of my Nokia 6 phone from 15% up to 100% while the phone is ON and serving the hotspot with display OFF. That is not "ages", it is pretty fast for the 3Ah battery. The charging time of LiPo batteries is a compromise between the usable lifetime of it. The faster the charging is, the faster the battery wears out. That is the reason why I do not use the original Nokia charger at home since there is plenty of time to charge the battery overnight . At home the phone is on the charger all the time but I use a charger that is capable to supply only 0.7A max. At work and on travel I use the the original Nokia rapid charger since the charging time is more critical in those situations.

Also, the opening/hole for the 3.5mm audio plug in some 3rd party protection enclosures may have a small deviation (it is not exactly centered around the jack hole of the phone) or the opening/hole of the enclosure may be too small, both prevents the plug to fully penetrate into the jack (because some of the material of the enclosure is in between the body of the phone and the body of the plug). In case your phone is in an enclosure, try removing it and then mating the connectors again, forcefully but still gently and paying attention to the alignment (straight angle).

Not having the notification led is certainly irritating but obviously not a deal-breaker since many/most of the Android phone models lack this important feature. I do not know why it is so but I believe such "invention" (message notification by a led or an other light source) is patented and too expensive to license. I got rid from the yellow cast (I still have the Android 7.1.2 in it) by testing/trying all/many of the available setting options (many combinations of them) and then setting them back to normal. Anne, the audio connector in N6 is the the 3.5 mm audio jack that is the de facto standard for vast majority of audio devices. Since you were not able to "fit" the connector of your old headset to the N6 then your old headset has some other/exotic connector. You have three options, buy an adapter, buy a new headset, or buy a new phone BUT before you buy a new phone make sure that your old headset is compatible with the new phone.

Lately I have seen the N6 2017 version at quite affordable discount. It is a very good phone and the fingertip button is in the most obvious, convenient, and ergonomic location. The 2018 has the fingertip button at the back side, it is quite the same as having the car lock (or the start button of the car) in the trunk. Every time you have the phone in any kind of a holder, or just on a table laying on its back, you will curse the location the the fingertip sensor of the 2018 model when you want to power it up.

I bought a Nokia 6 to replace my dead Nexus 5x. Overall, I feel it was a suitable replacement. My only gripes so far is that I end up accidentally pressing the home and navigation buttons too often, much to the interference of my youtube viewing. This, and the fact that I end up unlocking my phone by accident when I didn't intend to because of the home/fingerprint reader placement. I kind of miss the fingerprint sensor of the Nexus 5x at the back, it felt so natural compared to this. I'm satisfied with my Nokia at the end of the day. Glad the old buggers switched over to android now. A good move in the long run, I might say.

The batteries in the smartphones are currently very very similar, they are generally all based on the same/single technology (Lithium Polymer, LiPo). So in regards to the performance, a 3Ah battery in a smartphone A is practically identical to a 3Ah battery in smartphone B.

The N6 has rather basic Google Android software package (and this is goo since makes it very easy to rapidly distribute security patches). IT so happens that there is not any voice recorder app in the basic Google Android package, for example there is no voice recorder app in various Google Pixel phones either. This is the reason you have not been able to find a voice recording "option". Fortunately there still are skilful and generous people around. Try this app: it is in my opinion by far the best Android voice recorder ever. Also, it is safe to install since it does not require _any_ dubious/insecure permissions, not any. The app is also fully freeware and does not show advertisements. Some of the excellent features: Is able to record to extSD, has a lot of file encoding formats including mp3, ogg, flac, and wav, can use either phone mic or Bluetooth mic and continues recording even when the phone is locked.

Well "chyke", he kinda told it, apparently his N6 has tendency of freezing. That would be quite a terrible experience, just think that you'd have a frozen phone in your front pocket, or the phone gets frozen while you are speaking with someone, it could give some rather nasty frostbites, very difficult to explain to the significant other. Quite frankly the "Nokia 6, (2017 model" is amazingly good phone, and if one takes the very affordable price level into consideration also then it is very very hard to beat. Just now it appears to be the 11th moment to buy the "Nokia 6 (2017 model" since the "Nokia 6 (2018) model" a.k.a. "Nokia 6.1" (international version) allegedly is very close to the doorsteps of the distributors. Actually I was using the phone too much like 3 hrs nonstop WiFi or movies, games so that was the reason my phone use to get hanged and the speakers would not ring nor make a sound. I have to restart the phone and after that it would work. At beginning every thing was fine but I think it started after October or November update but now it neither gets heated nor hangs and I won't update it further than January 2018 Oreo because for my ta 1003 it is the best. I would suggest you to update your phone until it satisfy you not more than that

I had problems with my Nokia 6 ta 1003 like heating issues and sometimes the loud speaker would hang but I waited because hmd promised Oreo and another reason was my phone wasn't made to be used outside China but now it's perfect. I only upgraded to Oreo and all the problems were solved. These kinds of issues can be solved over the period of time and I know hmd is not perfect but still they are trying.

I got an issue with my brand new N6 - the display doesn't function at a low temperature, under 5C. Contacting Nokia support, I wasted 1.5h of my life for no solution provided. What I got : - N6 phones are not operational in cold weather (close to 0 C) - There is no Nokia Care centers in Canada or Central America. The root cause is that Google is making direct and easy data transfer and syncing between PC and the phone more and more difficult, in the attempt to persuade people to start more willingly using the cloud services (clown services). So more information, pictures etc, can be collected from the users. First they took away the ability to connect the phone memory to a computer as a disk drive. Major step back in usability. Then came phones without no memory slot at all. These were/are not selling very well. Now we have this awkward combo, if you want to take the extSD out (to connect it to a PC) then you also are removing the SIM. To do this safely one has to power off the phone while the extSD (and the SIM) is out.

I do not have courage try it yet since there are several rather worrisome major bug reports for v.8.0.0 e.g. here: (especially a lot of reports about the volume control messed up) and if it so happens that the update somehow gets going, e.g. by mistake, then there is no going back and I'd be stuck with majorly faulty OS in the phone (this is one huge problem in Android "ecosystem", with personal computers one has the choice to go to a previous OS version, however far back it is necessary). Once again, thank you!. It is then the wording on the info/popup message of Nokia 6 that is incorrect (and very daunting). I will try to update when/if a non dotzero versions is ever released.

i bought one through kogan 6mths ago. was a chinese rom so wouldnt work well in australia. after sideloading googlestore was able to get locations working eventually. i use it for ingress, and have only had it working 'properly' for two weeks. keeps dropping out, disappointed and replacing it with a superseeded pixel xl may be ok for you though, make sure it is a model sold in your country and youll hopefully miss the problems i had

I have TA-1021, yesterday I got notification about v 8.0 being available. BUT it is only available thorough WiFi. Shows how arrogant the Nokia/HMD people still are, they are the rulers, they do not allow the ignorant puny user to make the choice. I download many GigaBytes nearly every day with my unlimited 4g data plan without any problems. Not so that I would ever update&use the 8.0. The dotzero versions are always loaded with bugs. So I will wait for (the possible) 8.xx.

I have TA-1021 Model and updated it to oreo. Fortunately after update there is no issue like battery, even Settings Menu & Notification Bar are really improved and now easier to work. According to some opinions Oreo also improves Camera performance.

I was really disappointed that I bought a useless version and then came Nokia 8 which is a lifetime standard although I got updates every month. But my friends convinced me to buy this phone instead. I have to say, this phone is AWESOME!! I have received tons of updates since I bought the phone. Just this morning, I received an android 8 oreo update. Wohooo!! Camera's fine, but you can edit the photos to your liking. Speaker's sound is loud enough and well-balanced. Not much of a gamer. I just have 2 games installed to kill time. Fast enough for an average person like me. Screen is amazing. Phone looks sleek and expensive (but not really, I bought this for a cheap price). No regrets. This phone is perfect for me. :)

Yeah, the same issue happened in my phone when i upgraded the OS on February 6th. I restarted it, yet nothing changed. But then I kept it overnight and restarted it the next day morning and it started working very well. All was fine. May be there were some functions processing for some time even though it wasn't displayed on screen. Sometimes it doesn't change with restarting so how about you try Switching off the phone and switching it back on again. It worked in mine that way... Hope it will work on yours too :)

Such unwanted apps can be disabled but not uninstalled, they take up storage space. These apps are available at Play Store, they can be chosen at will or by choice and download anytime. I've owned both the nokia 6 (from july 2017 to december 2017) and now the xiaomi mi a1 (from december until now) pros of the nokia: better built quality. can be carried around without a protective case and nothing will happen to it. cons of the nokia: software is not fast due to bad processor. it can get pretty annoying how slow it gets. camera is bad. pros of the xiaomi: software wise, it's amazing, pretty fast, if you get the global version made in china you won't get any bugs (because I haven't had any bugs). great camera compared to the nokia. cons of the xiaomi: kinda fragile. from one small fall I had, it has a scratch on the top side. but if you have a case and a screen protector, it's fine. i'd say it has the same fragility level as an iphone 6 or 6 plus.

Buy Nokia 6. Its build quality is superior, the specs are alright too. I played a couple of games like modern combat, space marshal, oceanhorn, some survival games and some other few games that literally eats the battery due to high graphics (have to say no lags at all) for an hour totally, and also watched some videos, played around the phone, took some pics, recorded a video and battery lasted like 4 and 30 minutes from 86% to 15%. The total screen off time was just over 2 days. If I charged it up to 100% and used it down to 0% then I am sure I can even use it another hour or two. The accubattery shows the average battery last long time in screen on time as just over 8 hours.

I found a way to fix the yellowish color problem of the photos. Go to camera app -> in settings locate capture settings -> change the setting to manual -> come back to the camera app -> set everything to AUTO in the left hand side panel (especially ABW), then go to back to capture settings -> change the capture setting to automatic -> turn on boost light. Now the camera is perfect again :D no yellowish light at all. But this only fixes the selfie camera's color. If someone wants to fix the color of the back light, as I explained earlier, follow the same steps, and in the ABW area, select fluorescent, candescent, cloud. Either one is working except day light. The camera flasher emits bright white light as it's supposed to be. It's not an emulation or software correction, There is a white light in the phone as well, but for some reason yellowish color is used by default.

Select "Manual" mode. Then in AWB, select "Cloudy" or "Shade", only White LED will be active. But there wont be much change in the light intensity with that single LED. At times it may look brighter than both LEDs active. Even when White LED is active, you may notice no change in the image colours, as the Camera app is aware of the lighting and corrects the image colour. You can use a different Camera app if this is annoying, and raise this issue in Nokia Forums.

As I found the only problem of the default camera app is if the flasher is turned off, it makes the photo yellowish, otherwise it's just fine, but this yellowish color can be turned off through settings as I explained earlier. So the only problem is yellowish color being default.

In my Noka 6 (TA-1021, Android 7.12 with all patches up to December) the stock camera app only has three scene modes, they are "Photos", "Panorama" and "Beauty". The physical color of the light from the flash is exactly the same in the "Photos", and "Beauty" scene modes, and in "Panorama" mode the flash (obviously) does not operate at all. Could you please elaborate exactly under what camera settings only the white LED flash would be active? The purpose of the flash is to provide additional illumination for the scene and in case only one of the two LEDs would be used in some of the scene modes, then the power of the flash would be is cut in half in those modes and that would not be a practical design choice at all because all the LED flashes are very weak. Therefore I believe that both of the LEDs are always used at full of their power when the flash flashes. Another "peculiarity": Under incandescent light, with the flash suppressed, camera at full auto and in "Panorama" mode, the picture still has the strong yellowish cast BUT when I make only _one_ change, that is I switch the scene mode to "Photos" or to "Beauty" mode, then the picture is good, having proper relative colorimetry, without yellowish (or any other) cast. Seems to me that there are several issues with the default camera app.

There are two things actually 1. Though there are white and yellow LEDs, in some of the scene modes the yellow LED is not used and so results in a whiter shot. 2. Even if both LEDs are used, the camera app has post processing to correct for the yellow tone. It seems to have a class that sometimes the colour correction don't work as expected.

The flash in Nokia 6 is dual-tone and yellow'ish, this cannot be changed. The amber/yellow tint in pictures and videos is resolved with the Android 7.1.2 and/or the October 2017 updates on my phone. You can check that both flash LED's work if you put ~10 sheets of white paper over the camera and turn on the flashlight. One LED is bright white and the other orange if all is well mechanically.

Now, I turned the Capture Settings option into Manual mode and took several test photos using various manual control settings. I was still getting photos with more or less yellows casts and also the preview indicated that cast. Then I set the White Point setting to AWB and immediately the preview was good and flash photos as well as indoor shots under incandescent light (without flash) were good, no yellowish cast at all. Then I set the Capture Settings option back into Auto, and it is still the same, all photos are good, without the yellowish cast. Now it seems that the only way for me to get the excessive yellowish cast, be it flash photos or in non-flash photos, is to set the AWB to something else but Auto. Btw1: The actual color of the flash light did not change at all, the color of the physical light from the flash is still yellowish. What changed, somehow, apparently was the color management that the camera software does to the pixel data. Btw2: I have never seen this strong yellow color cast issue in the Open Camera -app (a _very_ capable camera app, totally free, has no ads, requires no cockeyed permissions) by Mr. Mark Harman.

It does lag I was going to buy Nova 2i which has the same specs as Honor 7x because Honor 7x isn't available in my country, but after seeing how bad its GPU is, I decided not to buy. The Mali-T830 MP2 is weaker than Adreno 505. So it's NOT recommended for gaming. So either buy Moto G5 Plus or Nokia 6. Both are good phones for gaming.

My understanding is that the Indicator Led is a patented idea and expensive to license, it is missing in many/most make/models of android phones. Likely the patent does not cover China. I would have put up say up to 20 euros more for a "Nokia 6i" or such (where "i" designates the Indicator Led) but unfortunately there is not such option available. The yellowish flash is somewhat irritating to me but I always edit each photo that I actually use so it is just an irritation. I can understand this being as a big minus for some of the people who use the photos as they are. It is nearly a design fault, has absolutely nothing to to do with health.

I have not experienced such horrible power consumption but surely when both the WiFi (or the HotSpot) and Bluetooth are active and only mp3 is listened from the ext SDcard using Bluetooth earphones (the display is off) then the full battery charge lasts only about 12 hours. Phone is good, expect the manufacturing defect to happen in less than a month, like the fingerprint scanner will get stuck at times and the main speaker coming at the bottom will not work, and when you go for service, they will just tell you to keep your phone there and to get it repaired. This is no longer Nokia. On missed event (message, call, etc.) the button doesn't breathe anymore. My nokia E7 manifactured 2008 year has that function! Here, model 2017 with Android - no longer. The cover is no longer so strong. My Nokia E7 was dropped on the ground minimum 30-40 times. It doesn't even have a protector and it's not broken! I see that the display is a bit above the cover in Nokia 6. That means 1-2 drops and it will be broken. I cannot see my clock after i lock the phone anymore!!!!! Redicilous!!!! Around this price range a good phone with better processor might be having a SD625. Which is not much of an upgrade over Nokia 6 in terms of real world app usability. Games performance can improve. Ikr. This phone is not for those who want too much. For them xiaomi is the appropriate package. You can't get too much from a phone running on sd430. But overall it's a satisfying, modest package for the right kind of people. I could get an sd625 for about 100$, but I paid almost twice to get this and I have no regrets. For this price, you can get an SD 821 if you want too much.

I just received the oreo beta (OTA) this morning a few hours ago, and I can say that the phone feels quite faster and smoother. it now has night light, too, and the camera app is different (looks wise.. kinda looks like the one on the nokia 7 promo images). no dolby atmos tho, but I think that's because this is just a beta.

Yes I'm totally agree with you . It looks classy and expensive.Its music quality is superb & it is one of the toughest mobiles I've ever held. When I held it for the first time it felt like a solid rock. It has drawbacks though. Heavy user won't satisfy with its battery life and Gamer won't satisfy with its performance (especially graphics intensive games will lag. Normal game won't pose any problem.) Anyway I can say Nokia will certainly rule the mobile arena in the upcoming years . (P.S. I'm always a die hard fan of Nokia and Samsung is my arch-enemy )

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is one of the best phones that i have used among all. i bought it in Feb (2 weeks after release) and it still works like a charm. no lag, it hasn't slowed down the android is still very smooth, no camera disintegration. i have no cover on this phone but still no scratches even though it move around a lot with this phone in pocket (Gym, Ofc, public transport, etc). this is yet the most durable phone i have ever used. far better than the Samsung and Motorola who slow down and lose camera quality due to bloatware and low component quality and durability. still proud to have this phone.

If your phone is slow, post which app or games are slow. Don't post generalised results. I am using this phone for 4-5 months and happy with its performance. When looking at the base of currently active Android phones worldwide, I'd say more than 97% of them are slower and weaker in performance. In addition Nokia 6 has prompt security fixes as well as OS upgrades. It is strong also in several important specs that most people are not familiar with, for example the available frequency bands for 4G/LTE and it has Cat4 so it is able to download up to 150 Mbps and upload at 50 Mbps (when the operator can provide such service). This phone has superbly good sound quality. All this at mere 240 eur it is exceptionally good purchase. There are some people who seem to prey all over on the internet, looking for what ever possibilities to bash out this particular phone. I do not know what their agenda is but they can not be be speaking from first hand experience, honestly. The bashing mainly targets the main processor of the phone. Just like with other devices like Windows or Mac PC's the processor clocking speed or the specified MIPS, etc do not relate with the real world user experience, there are so many other factors that must be taken into account, such as the amount of RAM memory, the write/read speed of the the internal SD memory and the way the applications and OS utilizes the multiple cores of the processor. So instead of listening these barking dogs, I urge everyone who are looking for a state of the art Android phone, go to a shop and actually use the device and dwaw your own conlusions.

Hello VN. 1. Yup, I use nokia 6 as my daily driver. (for reference ive previously used zenfone 2 and galaxy s5 as daily drivers) 2. For regular usage like that, even more intense usage like using google docs, google sheets, relay for reddit etc - the performance is fliud. Very smooth. I'm 100% satisfied with its performance. Multi-tasking is a breeze. I only work on my device (no major games) and I honestly don't desire more performance. 3. Camera is great. It takes moslty nice photos, good details, pleasant colors, accurate color reproduction etc. However, it takes dark photos in very low light conditions. This problem can easily be overcome by using a manual camera app and setting the ISO to max and shutter speed to slowest. I have no complaints with its camera. Front camera is quite good actually. In short, not flagship grade but very plentiful (better than lot other midrangers like j7 pro, a5 2016) 4. Yeah, Nokia 6 2018 might be released sometime soon. If you can wait, better. But for a normal user this is an excellent device. It works well, it feels good, it looks good. Other good options - moto g5 plus (nokia 6 looks better, has better display and audio, but moto g5 plus has better camera and is very fast), moto x4 (excellent, awesome device). If you're feeling confused, i'm pretty sure you won't regret buying it. Just buy it from a good reputable store. I'd buy my nokia 6 again , if i lost it. Best value for money.

AM facing a lot of issues with Nokia 6 ,The outlook was installed and after 2 days the phone will not open outlook. Moeover i did a factory reset and then it worked for 2 days and then the same issue. Battery is heating up. Phone is slow . Blue tooth swithces on by itself . Battery heats up, and drains quickly. Check if do not disturb mode is on Alarm works flawless out of the box, you probably changed a setting which has rendered the alarm dysfunctional. These problems usually arise from an inability to use the device properly. Best to take it to a friend who knows android devices really well, or to the customer care or just do a factory reset.

Absolutely not. The battery life is good. I get 6 hours + sot. I end a typical day of work 8 am - 5 pm with around 60% charge. I use it quite often but I'm an optimized user.

Actually they are stereo speakers. One is main loudspeaker and other one is the earpiece itself. Earpiece produce a very soft and low volume output so actually its not a quality stereo. Once i had a software malfunction that caused to mute the main loudspeaker and then i could barely hear the other speaker even with full volume setting (That issue was settled with a simple restart and never saw it again)

My opinion: Although I own a Nokia 6 and I absolutely love this device, I'd say the a5 17 will be better. Reasons - very comparable build and reliability - Exynos 7880 is far superior than SD 430 (performance difference is pretty big) - USB type-c - IP68 ingress protection - probably a better display points in favor of Nokia 6 - much better audio output via earphones and speakers (excellent) - physically a bit stronger (high structural rigidity) - pure android The phone suited to you depends on your requirements, but the A5 17 is overally a far better device.

Nokia 6 has pure android. Which means, the 'android as google made it.' Google doesn't officially add a file explorer app in nougat (there is one hidden deep inside the settings though), thus Nokia 6 does not have a file explorer app either. However, you can use any other file explorers on the market. Solid explorer is a good option.

None of them have very strong chipsets, so both will slow down after a few months if you don't do maintenance. If you properly maintain, any android will stay almost as fast as new (95%). The nokia 6 however, should still be faster than the xa1 without maintenance, because pure android (AOSP).

The Nokia 6 should fare far better for you. For regular users (non gamers) this is an excellent device. Here are some reasons why I recommend this over the xa1 - far better build (high structural rigidity, all metal build over the plastic backed xa1) - far better display (a 1080p 5.5 incher, a very good one at that vs an average 5 inch 720p) - stock android should be smoother than xperia's skinned ui - snapdragon 430 is more efficient than helio p20(mediatek) Some more phones to look out for - not xiaomi (don't recommend it to regular users) - moto g5 plus is very good - moto x4 is excellent - samsung j7 pro is fine too - samsung a3 2017 is fine You can go for the Nokia 6. It's one of the best deals in the price. Make sure you pick up the international version, not the Chinese one. The Chinese one will have Chinese text on the box and no metal ring around the camera bump.

Well I could use a good battery life and smooth app running. I don't really care much about camera and playing games. I tried looking for a comparison of those two on youtube but all i've found is nokia 6 compared to xperia xa1 ultra and i don't really wanna get that one since it's huge and it obviously has better hardware than nokia 6 so it's not a fair comparison. If your priority is performance, SD 430 is not recommended. For day to day usage this phone isn't slow. App install speed is very similar to the 625, which doesn't depend only on the cpu but also on the memory and ram speeds. This phone is fooling nobody. For a person who doesn't game on the device, this is one of the best deals out there. I have owned around 10 android devices and fixed/bought numerous devices for friends and family. Yes, 625 would be really nice but this phone still offers very substantial experience. I'd buy this phone again if I lose it. Disclaimer : I have no interest in arguing or proving any points. Go to settings of your phone-> apps ->all apps->google play store->storage->clear data, clear cache close all the recently opened applications using multitasking button, restart the phone open google play store then try to download if still the same check whether internet spped is good or not.

See dude we are not Nokia haters, Nokia 6 inevitably deserves 625 soc as per price bracket. They hav to look at todays mobile competition, instead they moving backwards that's why people hating this. See 3gb ram ok 32 gb internal memory ok but there's no compromise on processor, I waited for 1 year to get this phone but the reviews and lots of research made me not to buy this. See there's huge difference between 430 and 625 processor, I don't need to explain abt it, u guys well known. I'm not suggesting or misleading abt this phone. you can delete individual call logs .. it's a bit tricky though. just go to call logs, then history.. then click the "call details".. there's the bin icon on the top right.

I've had this phone for 2 months and don't seem to have had the issues that some have with it. Battery life with my usage profile is excellent and apps run fine. During my time with the phone I haven't noticed any particular issues with over heating but I don't use CPU intensive apps for long periods of time, if I was this could possibly be an issue. One of the reasons for choosing the Nokia 6 over a different handset with a 5.5 inch display was the almost pure Android experience without any bloat ware which you definitely get with Samsung phones and tablets. This phone is an upgrade of the Oneplus1 as it did not support 4G on the network I use, it's a little slicker than the Oneplus but to be honest I would have been happy to keep using that after flashing to Lineage 14.1 if it wasn't for the 4G issue so I'm probably not using the phone in the same way as many who have commented on here but I'm very happy with this phone.

Both should be good for that. But the Nokia 6 should last longer. It's better built than the j7 pro. Also, amoled displays (like the one on j7) deteriorate over time, inevitably. Ips (like Nokia 6) doesn't.

Yeah, for me too. Alarms don't ring and when I woke up late and check, alarms will be still on. I think this happens after the 7.1.2 update. Not sure as I use alarms only rarely.

That's pretty much sums up my experience with this device. Excellent clean performance, a solid showing. I am a very frugal user so I get pretty good battery life from it. For example, I had an exam today and a huge assignment which would require a lot of work in my phone on campus. I thought I'd run out of battery but surprisingly I ended the day with 62% left. Worth every penny.

I have bought Nokia 6 14th instant after having a lot of consideration. Frankly speaking my priorities were build quality, looks , clean interface, battery life and most importantly audio quality (as my ID suggests) . I normally don't play games on mobile (for that I have a dedicated desktop pc). After using couple of weeks I must say I'm more than happy. My only regrets are battery life, it could've been better (4000 mAh ) as this is a fairly large phone. I must say 2018 will be the year of reawakening of the king NOKIA.

All those features like Manual control of camera, dolby sounds are useless to me, I only take casual photo on auto mode, don't bother to listen to music or radio using phone. For me J7Pro super amoled screen, long lasting battery, user friendly Touch Wizz UI, good auto shot photo, easily available of accessories & service center is important. Unless Nokia put in Snapdragon 660 in there next Nokia 6 or else is no go for me, Snapdragon 430 just too weak & slow, not mentioning excessive heating issue, very short battery life.

Yeah Nokia 6 should do the job for you. It's camera has manual controls and RAW support which should help you with taking professional shots. But if you want a super color accurate screen, you have to look elsewhere (j7 pro). Also, have a look at the moto g5 plus. It might be better for you.

(via settings -> about -> Software update) i am currently having Android 7.1.2 October patch. I think wifi problem is fixed on one of the previous updates July/Aug

Not being rude but can't be a very good dslr if a tiny mobile sensor is comparible to it, even a micro 4/3 sensor should beat a mobile sensor in pure detail resolved, colour depth, dynamic range, etc Yes mobile cameras are good but not that good if you view at pixel level and are truly critical of your work. I'd never use a mobile camera in place of my Canon 1D mk2, 5Dmk2 or Nikon D200 , and yes these are not even the newest or semi new generations of dslr but they still get consistently better shots

I bought this device with great expectations based on Nokia's history but I was shocked, not only for slowness and bad image quality especially in Facebook videos, but in connectivity issues. When connected to wifi or mobile data, it suddenly disconnects itself and doesn't connect again until I restart it, then it connects for a while and then disconnects again.. and so on.
