Nine years since using it, too. Never changed the battery and never needed repairing. The battery still lasts 4-5 days at most but that's depending of how much I use the phone. Great stuff!

I am pleasantly pleased with this 6060 model. it is hardy! If only flash light & radio could add to its features, it will go a long way liking it. I do recomend this for tropical and resource poor conditions. Thanks for my 8 years use of Nokia 6060 phone, trouble free!!!

Had this wonderful phone just short of 4 years now. It's nothing fancy - perfect for calling and texting. Have dropped it a thousand times but it just keeps bouncing back. Until now. So sad to have to finally replace it.

A good, reliable, and strong gadget. Got it 2006 (used), the battery still working as almost as new. I charge every 3 or 4 days. However, I was disappointed when I met with him for the first time because it is not a regular nokia-mapped mobile, means to do things you have to do it in a different way. Because of its sleek appearance, it gets scratches quickly.

I too have this phone since 2005. Has worked perfectly. Dropped it recently but seemed okay after I turned it off, took out the battery and inserted it again. Am not very technically-minded. My problem is that I cannot hear anything when a text comes in. If the phone is on my desk I can see the red light illuminated, but there is no sound to alert me. Any idea what I can do about this? Hi, i'm sorry to say, Nokia does not authorize its consumers to use any kinda software or hardware(data cable) for this mobile model. BUT it is illegally possible to use a data cable called CA-42 Pop port cable which is same for Nokia 6030. Unfortunately i can't seem to remember the software needed at the present moment. Hi, yes, the front panel which also houses the led light, can be changed. So does the battery cover. But the major problem is getting the replacements are hard now. Synthetic cover for this mobile is waste. Bye..

Hi, the batteries that comes with Nokia mobiles are 1st quality and it can live upto 2-3yrs which depends on alot of factors and one such thing is usage. Simply replace your battery and enjoy your mobile. If problem persists after many battery changes, check charger and mobile. Bye..

I agree 100%...this is the worst phone I have ever had! It completely soured me on Nokia phones...whoever designed this phone should be fired. It turns on so slowly that you would be dead in an emergency before you were able to make a call. The menu is in pictures and the phone blacks out so quickly that you don't have time to make a choice...it is also too bulky...

I have used my 6060 for 2 years now and it has been quite good. I had some problems with the 1800 mHz transmitter, but it was quickly solved. Now the battery has become weak, so I have to buy a new. The 6060 is easy to use, it has enough options for normal use (calls and SMS) and the power consumption is very low. In normal use I charge my 6060 once a week! I also like the outside antenna, it is a must if you are an outdoor person!

@ To all users of 6060. I gave this fone to my dad for he wanted a simple fone with big clear screen. Guess what? This fone has pop port, so you could connect this fone to your pc. Don't bother asking Nokia care or Nokia centers about data cable for this fone. Cuz they will say fone's port is not meant for use! Trust me, data cable CA-42 Pop Port is available on the black market, 6030 also uses the same cable for it's port. Hope i have given some important news on connectivity of 6060. Bye ppl.

I've had my 6060 for over two years now and its been a blessing!! Got stuck once i think after i dropped it about 5 times...design is classy, elegant and very proffesional...its easy to use, the screen is a great size and the flap ensures that the screen doesnt get scratched no matter how many times it falls! The red beeper in the front comes into good use as well. Fantastic!

I bought this phone in January 2006, and the clamshell opening just broke. I guess it's enough for a cell hpne, but I wish it had lasted longer. Anyways, a good phone, and even if the opening system is broke I can stil use it. GPRS is slow, not recommended if you intend to do something over the Internet other than surfing low-weight web sites.

It's not just you...whatever you're doing when you close the "flap" will remain on the screen until you open it again. At first I didn't like it either. But it's especially handy if you're interrupted while sending a text message.

Hmm...The Nokia 6060 is a phone which is a good combo of style and price. Well, if you ask me, my mom gave me an option between the motoflip and the N6060. I was going to buy the motoflip, but thank god i didnt! I went for this instead and am quite happy with my buy. A simple menu, sophisticated ringtones, stylish flap, speaker phone and good- enoguh games. What else can you possibly ask for in its price range?

for me, i only use mobile phones for SMS and calling; not all the other crap like taking pictures and movies that look worse then a webcam.personaly i see no point in taking bad quality movies or pictures? i have a 6mp digital cam for stills and a digivideo camera for good quality movies,..also an mp3 player for my vast collection of music. with all that said this is a great phone and you cant ask for anything more from it, i payed $99australian, about $70US it came with $30 credit too. there will always be better phones then this out on the market (DUH!!) however for the price it does the job very well

For me this performance is so good, it design is great, the stand by time is so long, have a good quality display and it's cheap compare with the others mobiles with price like this. It's a perfect stilist model, high quality of display, ringtones, performance for calls and messages! I'm enjoin' it.

I bought this mobile in Jan'06 and using it since then. Its a very nice phone with the flip style which is a rare model in low range nokia models. Not many features but its ideal for ppl who are not used to the latest gadgest and technologies. I feel the headset embedded in this phone has a problem. The sound quality is less. You can change the volume when you receive a call. Just use the botton left (to decrease the sound) and right (to increase the sound). This configuration will be recorded and it's not necessary to change the volume again

Steps to PC connectivity of N6060 with MobiMB software. My data cable�s manufactured company name: Gantong (Black color cable) 1. Install MobiMB Mobile Media Browser V3.00 2. Install PL-2303 USB-Serial driver: �Driver Installer.exe� from Prolific Technology Inc. 3. Plug in the USB Cable to the PC WITHOUT N6060 BEING CONNECTED! 4. Run MobiMB software and minimize the window. 5. Right click & select properties from �LM Connection Manager� on system tray. 6. Double click �Add Connection� with the following steps to create a connection: �Cable connection (Serial or USB)� -> �Nokia� -> �CA- 42 Cable� 7. Right Click properties on �CA-42 cable on COM1/COM2� 8. Go to �port settings� 9. DO NOT SELECT COM1 or COM2!!! 10. Select the next only available new port, it can be either from COM3 or onwards. 11. Click Apply 12. Connect the USB cable on N6060. 13. Once you select again the �CA - 42 cable on COM3�, you will be able to see �Nokia RH-73� on �Active devices� category within 30 seconds. Then press �OK� button. 14. Re-Run MobiMB software 15. That�s it, by now it should be running without any problems as I expect. 16. Click on the needed folders for transfer of files (Drag, drop & copy type). 17. Never click �Hammer� icon on MobiMB software or it might close with a memory crash message as a reason. Don�t worry, as it doesn�t crash the Windows O/S, but avoid it. Hope I was useful to everyone here who had everything for connectivity but no idea of setup. Note: I bought the Nokia 6030 Series Data cable and CD for my N6060. A special thanks goes to �steamer� - 2006-07-26 10:51 on this forum for his valuable information that 6030 series cable is also compatible! P.S The N6060 does not show any reaction when connecting cable nor during transmission. This was programmed by Nokia purposly to confuse N6060 users!!!

I bought a cable via a company based in Hong Kong. Here's their website: The cable came with some basic software which allows me to move image and sounds files back and forth fairly easily. Nokia does not manufacture a cable for the 6060, and they claim that the data port is for technicians only. Not very helpful Nokia.

Hi, First of all I would like to thank all of you guys for your valuable reviews and information regarding N6060. I bought the N6060 on 8-Sept-06 for Rs4800=US$107 at a Nokia retail shop. I�m happy with this stylish phone. 1. The color display is good. 2. The battery lasts 2Days 19Hrs on my average use (Non-Vibrate, Non-Speaker, Calendar, Mostly Calls & Sms). 3. The body (black color) of the N6060 gets fingerprints on it all the time when I use it. 4. The incoming call volume is great during conversations & Speaker mode is fine. 5. The incoming call volume is a bit low when used with HDC-5 hands free headset. 6. The Call/Sms beeper is loud, great attention grabber! 7. The Vibrate technology drains the battery faster than normal use I guess? 8. There is no special sms feature for groups, but only �To many� option to send sms one by one to the people! (Slight drawback for free sms /group sending, mobile users) 9. My average battery charge time is 1hour for normal low battery condition (Mains 230V, ACP-12 Charger). Advice: If you�re a person who wants mobiles with USB connectivity, you should confirm the availability of data cable with CD in your area BEFORE buying this mobile. Note: Data cable with CD was available with the shop where I bought this mobile. It�s a third-party product which is priced at Rs450=US$10. According to Nokia, the USB port on the mobile is meant for Nokia Service, but illegally it is possible for data transmission with PC. Unfortunately I ran out of money for buying the data cable package, so I can�t review on the issue relating to it. I think I will buy it in 1-2 months time after I save enough money. I have had this phone a couple of weeks now and am very happy with it. I am not one who wants to be judged by the kind of phone I use, after all its just a phone. I just need to make calls and send messages, but it is a good looking phone and serves me well in my needs. However, I have had big problems with data transfer. I bought the USBF cable (I bought it in Cambodia for $9 which I thought was expensive as its a $0.5 cable)its says N6030 sieries cable on the box. I down loaded the PC suite from the Nokia website. I got a few demo programmes with the cable, the only one I found that would recognise the phone was oxygen, the link is somewhere on this thread. It has taken me 3 hours to get it working but YES there is connectivity to PC but only with USB f cable and Oxygen. It was most annoying to see that the cable was recognised by my pc but not by the programme.I believe that when you buy a phone its about time it comes with all the back up cables and installation CDs. It would cost Nokia next to nothing. I THINK THAT ITS SHODDY THAT NOKIA DO NOT ALLOW CONNECTIVITY WITH 6060 and PC SUITE. Its propably because the phone is a little old now and they want you to upgrade it. Remember - You must get your computer to recognise the cable before you download the programme.

But after I saw the reviews, there is no way in hell I'de buy this phone over my current E310 Samsung. If you want excellent flip phones with excellent performance and don't care much about the extra fancy unneccesary features, go for Samsung. This is how I look at Nokia and Samsung. Yes, it's a beatiful phone, I bought it from Helsinki. Best design ever. I also was sad that it has no PC connection, but: I found a FBUS cable from Romania (http://www.telgsm.com/bursa/afisare_anunt-17019­.htm). I confirm that it's working with MobiMB Mobile Media Browser and Oxygen Phone Manager II, and probably other sw. I downloaded one mp3 and a picture into it. Now I'm completly satisfied about it. But I'm wondering why Nokia strongly recomend not use the respective FBUS port! :-)) Good joke!

I just bought a data cable from China and it came with a software cd. However after several attempts at installing the included softwaee as well as testing all the other softwares in the CD, I am still unable to get the pc to detect the phone. Have been using 6060 since abt 2 months now.I have found it to be just great.Ya see I donot trust inbuilt cameras and MP3 players!!! Its MMS.GPRS.WAP is superb.Voice quality is fair with speaker on.Had Nokia put in IR port as well with Blue tooth -it would have been still better.GPRS is below par with current standards.They could have improved GPRS feature.In nuttshell-have no complaints!! I live in Texas(USA) I have the Nokia 6061, same phone just diffrent number. I used a regualar data cable that I found at a local store, didn't work just hair too big. So in looking through this forum I found this website It cost me a total of USD 14.00 including shipping and it works! Haven't got the Nokia PCSUITE software to recognize my phone, but the USB driver disk that comes with the cable has demos of other software that works perfectly fine with my phone. I will keep you up to date on the Nokia pc suite software but get the data cable from them it works and its very affordable. Oh and shipping was fast, payment was easy, no problems at all even for an internantional transaction.

Nin Hao! Am back, you can find cables from your nearest cellphone or electronic stores. By the way, am here in China and I've bought the USB cable just this weekend for 60 RMB (Yuan) Very cheap. It comes with an installer for the USB driver and the NOKIA 6060 Mobile GUI support. Just show your 6060 phone to the techy guy and point to the USB port located at the bottom of it beside the earphone jack and charger socket! Hope this helps! Have downloaded some pics and tones already in my Phone! Enjoy! :)

Paulo: To increase the volume, just press the right navigation key during a call. I bought the phone and I'm pretty pissed off with it. It's sexy as hell, but the only way to transfer stuff into it is through sms (no data cable, infrared, bluetooth).

Paulo Carniero, i had the same problem. While u r making a call or receiving one, adjust the volume button to max using the arrow keys. This will solve your problem. Surprisingly, Nokia ignored to mention this in the manual. Also check the previous replies on this forum and u will find the answer. Ciao

Hello all! I've got my new Nokia 6060 just a week ago. It's a very nice phone and I like it very much. Its simple and yet elegant. Im an IT guy and hope this helps for those who seek more features.In my own opinion, nokia did not mention the USB cable because they think its much better for users to concentrate on WAP, right? And why WAP, because it charge WAP users lots bucks out of it. This USB cable is working as some suggested already. For those who want bluetooth technology, think again. No unfortunatley theres either Data Cable, or WAP (which u have to pay) so i'd prefer data Cable its comes with only one fee the data cable itself (which includes 1000 free ringtones and wallpapers in a the 700MB installation disc which comes with it. So dont use the wap i did and payed $1 (IN AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS) for each ringtone and wallpaper i got. Even though the program says its free to transfer your provider may not (in which case mines with optus) So dont use WAP you will blow the money out of your pocket if you do. Nokia 6060 is a excellent phone, ot supports alot of cool features such as MP3, Video Clips, Polyphonic Ringtones (up to 15 notes at the same time way cool) and you can also transfer stuff from your Mobile 2 your pc by using a data cable which you can find anywhere from about 20 Australian Dollars (its much cheaper on ebay though) it tells you what kind of cable u need on this forum so if u need it read the whole forum to find your answer i got my data cable 3 weeks ago and its working like an authentic N0kia one (although nokia doesnt produce it). If your wondering about what program to use go to the nokia website and download a program called Nokia PC suite (20MB) and it will work. when u connect it to your computer there will be a error saying the model of this phone is unrecognisable do you want to continue? click yes and now you can put music, pictures, games etc just go to my computer-nokia phone browser-click on the phone symbol (unknown) then just find the folder on which you want to put your stuff into and then your done. copy and paste the files into that folder. hope that helps Seeya

The Nokia 6060 is a nice basic flip-top phone...it looks good too, and everyone will think it is an expensive one..It lacks the use of a built in camera, but i now have a Data Cable for it, and can put my own things on it. If I couldn't find a Data cable, then i would have bought a different mobile, but it would have still been a Nokia.

I've got this phone next to the 7710 and its a good phone. It's plain and simple with all the basic functions.In black it looks great,(looks expensive), but you have to polish it all the time (fingerprints). And the red indicatorlicht on front slowly tuns on and off when you missed a call or sms (NOT knightriderstyle like). NICE AND BASIC PHONE WITH GREAT LOOKS.

if the keytones and earspeaker are too soft, the phone is faulty. also the loudspeaker mode should blow you away too. try any other recent nokia model, it should be the same loudness.

I just asked nokia helpline about connecting this phone to pc and the answer was "this phone doesn't have this feature". And also I asked about voice dial and voice memo and the answer was the same. On nokia site there is voice features like voice memo and dial but they say that is a mistake on nokia site. So this phone DOESN'T HAVE A CABLE TO CONNECT TO PC AND NO VOICE FEATURES. I bought this phone before christmass and am very happy with it's features, those people that complain it does not have this or it does not have that just pull your head in if you bought the phone didn't you check it out first to see what it did have and what it didn't have. Did you bother to read reviews of the phone, this phone does a lot more than other phones that are worth more if you want the latest downloads it does Poly Tones, Real Tones, MP3,Java Games, Wallpapers, Screen Savers, Voice Tones. I love how the light glows when I get a missed call. I feel like its might own little knight rider! One slight defect I found was.. when there is one short of full sms capacity, the phone does not give an sms ringtone of the next sms. You only get a glow for warning that it is at full capacity.

hi everyone I just bought one, and yes, its up to the mark, every collegue of mine who has full pockets went to see the set to the mabile market atleast. looks are great, infact looks so professional that absence of other features like camera, infra, blue tooth etc. can be compromised with (if you have these gadgets already). if you want to use it only for the phone, its the best choice, a lil expensive as compared to other sets with similar features but what the hell, we are ready to pay extra for such a beauty. im still confused about its connectivity with the PC, can anyone help, which connecting cable to use? teh reviews are silent about this and even the user's manual say nothing about it.

LOW VOICE VOLUME ---> Read the answer here!! I firstly found it's low hearing volume and there is no instruction how to adjust . I almost give up and return to the shop. But accindently I found how to increase it !! 1. Make a phone call to any number(you must on call mode) 2. Press right button (jog style), volume bar displays, adjust to maximum level. I wonder why there is no mention in the user's manual??? Only one time set, the phone will set to this level for next call I love this phone because it's stylist and nice design. Good luck!

i had a 6060 with a low voice output, i returned and got a new one that is much louder. so if u have a faulty one exchange it and hopefully ur newone willbe better as mine was.

I just bought this phone today for RM500. Gotta say I'm pretty happy with it, no fancy features which I don't need on a phone. For MP3, I have my Ipod Nano. For camera I have my nikon digital and SLR while for games I have my X-box and PC(who plays those stupid phone games anyway). And who listens to radio today? They're so fully chock of adverts. So what I expect from a phone is just call and SMS and this phone fullfil my expectation at good price. People! If you need a phone, and only a phone not MP3-camera-games-pocketpc phone this is it. It's stylish and competitively priced. Not to mention looking twice the price with the chrome accent.

I am a Nokia fan, and I have waited forever for a small stylish phone from Nokia. Nokia only made brick-phones compared to Samsung for example. I don't need a brick in my pocket. When I saw the silver version of 6060, I bought it immediately. It looks gorgeous, and really has all the functions a phone should have. Plus, the Internet-related part is full-featured, at least for my taste. I have email, XHTML browser, and MSN Messenger. What more could I ask ? :) I only hope that not everybody will buy this phone, it is so cheap and stylish that it can become the commonest phone since 5110...:)

okay, the phone rocks - good that now everyone agrees. but, can anyone assure me, if we can connect it with a PC with the POP Port (USB) connection that it has just bedie the charger connector? Review doesnt saay anything! Look at the pics, there's a pop port. Need to know asap. Thanks.

I know alot people who don't like the camera and radio phones they want a regular do the purpose cell phone and plus it's a great work phone like for big companies so i think nokia made a great simple phone (but i'm not to crazy about the keypad design)

And for some strange reason im actually kind of glad this phone doesn't have a camera. I been sitting here for hours trying to picture it with a camera and trying to figure out where the camera would go and i just can't. I looks too good without one.

Great phone. I need a phone that makes phone calls as that is what they are supposed to do and this one is just fine. Almost impossible to find a phone that does just that anymore. I love Nokia's simple and easy to use features. Keep up the good work. Never had a nokia I haven't been happy with.

I would agree with most of you telling that a phone should be just a phone not a camera, MP3 player, video games or any other stuffs...I've had a phone with all those features, eventually you get bored and looking forward for something stylish, easy to use but of course with basic SMS + MMS capabilities..the Nokia 6060 has all these qualities...and yes..No blue tooth & infrared are really a slackers...

I agree with Chan as camera phone are not allowed at certain restricted area. In my case, I'm working in a Technology Base company and the area that I work prohibits the usage of camera phone. But I would appreaciate if the next model eventhough without canmera, should include blue-tooth and infrared capability.

I strongly urge all mobile phone makers to continue with producing phones without cameras as there are many areas in the world ban cameras or devices with cameras due to security reason. I think the 6060 is a great product and Nokia should continue with such product. Cheers!

I dont really go for design of the buttons, but i think nokia have done well. Something simple, no camera, no MP3 player, but it still has nice sounding ringtones. Although, i think all phones, no matter how basic, should have bluetooth. it is the easiest way to transfer files, and also a breeze to use a BT headset in the car instead of a stupid wired one. Lovin the colour scheme.

I`m sure you will get board of those features because an ipod sounds better, PS3 is the best video game, and a Nikon Coolpix digital camera gives you great pictures on screen. There are many ppl who don't want a phone with bluetooth, MP3 player, 2 MP camera, etc., (unlike me =D), they just want a basic phone to call and sms only, not caring of the other features. This phone would be best like old school phones without old school batteries. But the problem is that they could've put triband instead of dual band, which could've made it better

Ive been waiting for a phone like this! Ive had a lot of mobiles. But for the last 6 months ive started to use just phones again, like 8850, A800, X430. Im sick of those new phones with camera, video, mp3, flash. So its good they brought back "just a mobile". And it has the new technology batteries, so you dont have to charge it every day! Only remarks: a lil too big? Bluetooth or just infrared.

This phone is ugly, i mean make a better exterior look. I think bluetooth will make this phone complete, like most people have suggested. Phone is just for texting and calling, bluetooth will give it the extra push. Change the design, clamshells should look appealing and nice like the nokia 6101.

This is an entry level handset, with simple features and style. Obviously Nokia has put thought into this phone and i don't think they intended to put hectic MP cameras and bluetooth. you guys are forgetting the fundamental requirement of a flip phone. A display on the OUTSIDE! why oh why does nokia always ignore this basic design flaw. not to diss them too much cos i love their layout and keypads and stuff, i can even let go of the bluetooth stuff, cos lets face it, if you want all those features just go and buy a more expensive phone and leave this for people on a budget (i know i am!), the only thing that really gets my goat is the lack of an external display. there, rant over!.

If you need to take a pic -> use the actually camera. not that 2MP crappy camera, it shouldnt called camera instead. dont make the phone like the toy which you put everything on. God, everyone has complaints about this phone. I think it is a good phone for someone who wants something simple. All you advanced users, get over it, if you don't have anything good to say about it, don't say it at all. Right now, I have the sony ericsson z500a (for americas markets 850/1800/1900 GSM) and I have had problems with it ever since I got it from Cingular. I am switching back to Nokia and probably are going to get this phone because I want something simple.

some people are so stupid on here moaning about how ugly this phone is and lack of features. does anybody actually stop and look at the actual market nokia might have been going for with this. i have k750i and v3 and i use these because the v3 is slim and stylish and the k750i for 2mp camera. but this may be something that somebody who actually needs an up to date model for just calls and texts. do you really think nokia would release this phone if there wasnt a market for it, being one of the leading manufacturers in the market!!! get this guys news alert!!!!!!! not everybody wanted everything on a phone take a look at the n-series and stop wasting ur time giving bad reviews to a perfectly good phone that will find a home with somebody

Frankly, Nokia sucks bigtime for quite sometime. I have been a Nokia fan, and I just can't figure out what these people plan to do with their brand name. Don't look too far, try the Sony-Ericsson link in the same website, they are turning out some good stuff. Nokia seems to be stuck at 65k (most of its phones) just like they couldn't get out of the charm of BASIC COLOR DISPLAY (4k) for quite sometime. Samsung, Sony-Ericsson are turning out a lot better stuff. (N) Nokia!

If your a person who only uses their phone for text & calls, but like the flip side of mobile design (pun not intended) then this is for you. Nokia do make some ugly phones but the reason they do so well in the UK is: * Easy & Simular user interface * Clear Calls * Easy to get hold of spares like batteries & covers I personally think Sagem, Alcatel, & Siemens are the Ugliest, & to be honest ALL major maunfactures have done that.
