Can somebody help me here. I have nokia 700 since june 2012, working well till 4th aug 2016. But now it is not power on. I thought the battery was damaged, so i bought a new nojia 700 bp 5z battery but atill not power on. I thought of flashing it via phoenix service software 2012.50.001, but it while flaahing it gives an error as boot rom not found after phone start up. Please aomebody help me hoq do i restore my phone. Or bring it in working condirion.

this was a nice phone until it starts to work in offline mode only. as soon as i put my SIM it switches off. i had the card slot replaced, it worked for about 2 months and got the same problem.

I have this phone now for almost 3 years! It is for me the best smallest smartphone ever built. GPS even today works great, I used it alot, e-mail, Internet also. This phone has everything I need and fits also in my pocket! The best part is the AMOLED screen which is far better than any other screen type. The phone is very durable. Can't remember how many time it dropped off in various surface and the most time on concrete. Only I hate that Nokia was sold to Microsoft and after that happened the weather widget and other apps don't work anymore. It's like Microsoft has shut down those services. Anyway it is a great phone! hope I will use it for more years. Don't want to change it!

Well I have owned this phone for two years and just cannot get on with it, battery life is very short (new battery installed) it keeps pulsing, screen display goes dim then brightens, not the usual Nokia quality which I expected, wouldnt purchase again.

If your phone heats up extremely that it's hard to handle. Then that would mean the phone has suffered overcharging. If it you change the battery and the it eliminates the heating up then it was a battery problem. If a new battery doesn't cure the heating problem. Bring it to a technician, your phone is having a "grounded" problem. This is a usual problem of nokia phones. Hope this helped you.

This phone is the absolute best! I've had it for 2 yrs + and it is still going strong. Only downside to be honest, is the Bluetooth and the headphone jack stopped working. Also a few of the official Nokia applications got shut down, with the sell out of Nokia i suspect. Still plenty of Juice left in the phone, and the pictures are Stunning, for a fixed focus that is!! I can't give up this phone for nothing!!

This is my favourite phone ever! Ever since the third party Delight firmware update the firmware has been a delight to use: Love the small size. Wish it was Android... but it works better than my Nokia X2 Android... even thought the Android is theoretically more powerful. It's got everything the larger phones have but it's such a convenient size! In fact the only thing that might beat it is one of the new wrist watch mobile phones? They're great! ...but as yet not quite powerful enough to be truly useful? Picked my phone up for $92 slightly second hand... and been using it now for 2 years. The only continuing problem I've had with it is that it hates being connected to the computer. Not sure why... but it's always a pain. Keeps disconnecting as you try to transfer data, sync, backup, etc... Not quite sure why... as that stuff is hardly high tech. USB and bluetooth both have the same problem. Wifi connectivity is good for most uses. Just trying to come to grips with the replacement Nokia X2... which has many benefits... but equally many problems. However it also took a long time to come to grips with the 700... probably over 12 months? Being so small it is also hard to break. Big phones flex more and impact harder when dropped. Small phones spend most of their time sitting in a pouch and if they fall they barely seem to feel it. Didn't have to fix anything on this phone despite owning it for about 2 years. That's a first!!! This still remains officially the worlds smallest smart phone! I suspect that peopel with good eyesight are a little more prone to buying this? Most of the population are a bit myopic so they prefer bigger screens. My eyesight remains good... so the smaller screen doesn't bother me much. Great phone!!! If you're unsure you probably shouldn't be. For the price (usually very cheap) you're unlikely to regret buying it. :-)

Wow great phone. I had 3 andoid devices. Last one was 5 inch. I decided to move back to somehing smaller. You now this brick in the pocket issue :) Now I'm using Nokia 700. Love it! Yes, reading is less comfortable but I have started to talk with my wife again :) Ealier I was constantly busy with reading another important news... Pity that Symbian Belle OS is stopped with developing :(

its not auto silent mode its power savings option which goes at auto mode which is mainly by your bettery monitor app or setting provide you after 10% battery left by default, and it can be changed.

Yep there are couple of them like the 1. Lcg Jukebox(comes with equalizer) 2. Mediaplayer 3. FilePlay 4. Zene music player. I think that there are some more. Among all of these, the lcg jukebox standsout just because it has preset and adjustable equalizer. Am using this one as well. It actually feels better to listen through this app then the original nokia music player

Had an Xperia Go first and except for the better camera, this beats it in almost all aspects (from 3G signal strength - where it's like 4 times more sensitive) to build quality and ergonomics... and it's cheaper (you may say Xperia is water resistant - well mine was not!)

there is a certain folder that saves all downloaded files from the web. you can check your settings so that you can go to that folder whenever you have files downloaded from the web. most probably it's on your C:\ if you have not yet changed your setting. i have been using 700 for more than a year now, and when i download photos, it is saved in c:\ and in the folder IMAGES. Hope this helps...

hello every one m using nokia 700 and it is very fast and working smoothly its processor was 1 ghz that becomes 1.3 ghz after updating my nokia 700 via ovi pc store...i download heavy graphics game that consist of 200 300 mb size that runs on it very well...now there there r too many cell fones has launched but it is still the best...other fones took leads because of windows system or android apps this is the only back draw for this fone.after updating my cellfone its touch speed become faster then before.

Well, I'm using fp2 too, and I don't have the video editor. Nokia is rolling a few really small updates since a few weeks though, gallery fixes, camera, calling- like that. Maybe they will fix that soon. You can check that link on n8fanclub though!

Nokia 700 will definitely consume battery life, it only got 1080mah battery, you need a phone that is at least 1500mah battery like Nokia E6, Sony Xperia SP or Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD that got a whopping 3300mah.

It's more than 1 year I've my 700 and this is the best phone I'd bought ever, but the most failure is the OS. I belive android is the best OS for any gadget, but nokia refuses using it in such beautiful, fast comfort phone like 700. Now I'm going to have nexus 4 instead.

please take your 700 to a nokia care as the issue is not with the software but the hardware. You have to get your headphone jack replaced. You can also buy yourself a bluetooth headset if you prefer.

Well, I'd say it is upto you to decide as both the devices are equally good and have almost a similar spec sheet. The major difference being the presence of a hardware qwerty keyboard on the e5 and the touchscreen on the 700, you have to decide which of the two modes of input suits you better.

do you have email configured on your phone and do you use native browser to browse as these are the two main reasons for the filling of the internal memory. Also check if you have saved any multimedia files in the internal memory.

wooow! This nokia 700 realy suprised me yestarday. I thought only laptops and ipads can play mp4 videos that is as heavy as 2GIGABITES... But to my suprise, this little phone can also perfectly play 2G MP4 VIDEOS.. I am definately going to buy this phone next week by god's grace.

Mm... I'm not sure what's wrong then. I don't know if it is region specific either. I'm from India and my phone is on Belle fp2. But I'm pretty sure I had the option to make video calls even when I was on fp1. I often talk to my girlfriend over 3g video call as she lives 650kms away. It could be some difference in the software version or maybe an issue with your network provider.

Dont just think that the screen being corning gorilla glass would not get scratched, nothing is perfect in this world. So i wl advice you to use screen guard protector. That way, ur phone�s screen will last longer. Hope it helps.

I use the phone for about year, with maybe 20 apps installed. The storage is organized into following parts: C: ~ 100MB free E: ~ 1GB free F: ~ uSD card ~ 10GB used by lots of maps (whole US + Canada and most western Europe) + some pictures and music. If you do not need a lots of maps and multimedia, you could live and use the phone without uSD card.

nokia 700 has been having overheating issues since its inception and many 700 owners are facing this issue including me. But it overheats when I make 3g video calls or use it as for internet tethering using Joikuspot. Otherwise it's fine. If you are facing overheating issues without using any of the above two methods you can take your phone to a nearby nokia care and get it checked as it maybe a hardware defect. I don't know if there are any other issues that cause this problem. And about the replacement 1500 mAH battery, some websites do offer such batteries. But I believe those units are not original and you have to try it at your own risk.

Stop browsing heavily using the inbuilt (phone) browser.... Always use opera or uc browser.... On how to increase the phone memory back to normal, go to ovi store and download netqin app so that u can be able to delete all spams and cache on the phone memory... After downloading the netqin app, Simply go to Clean Spam-- System Cleaning and then clear it up... Hope this wl help

Hi I had the similar problem, the battery drained within hours even after it being charged 100%. I took it off to the service centre and got the battery replaced and it is awesome now.. If you are still under warranty, go ahead get it done.

Nokia is working ona fix of the wifi problem on the 2nd generation s^3 phones, actually this is not a phone problem this compatibility problem between phones network adapter and the access pount, you can read more about i on betalabs.nokia.com and you can download the experimental fix to this problem from there. make sure you are using an original or a nokia authorised charger as a duplicate one causes such issues. Try changing the charger. If the problem persists see if there's anything wrong with your electricals. Use your charger on your friend's phone and check, if possible.

I've been using this phone for the about 7 months now and i must say it's a great smart phone for a 1st time user or fir someone upgrading from a 5530,5230,or the 5800. The screen is very vivid, blacks are very dark and acrren looks great out in the sun.camera is decent enough. Music player is awesome. Negatives, battery is waayyy too tiny for a smart phone. 1080 mAh is just a joke. Screen is way too narrow for comfortable typing on a qwerty keyboard. Phone is fast enough but could've been faster.video payback is good but screen is too small to watch a 30 mins clip. I like this phone when i 1st got it but now i'm kinda bored with it plus as much as i love nokia, symbian is dead (even though the os is still 1 of the best out there) & i refuse to purchase a nokia windows phone. I'm switching to Android and will be purchasing the Galaxy Note II. It definitely suits my current needs. What drew me to it is the massive screen, the cpu,play store, s voice, s pen and a bunch of other featured not offered by a nokia symbian phone. However the 700 is a great phone for smartphone beginners.

My 700 started working more slowly and few such troubles as yours when reaching over 6000 stored SMS and over 1000 high-resolution photos. I made a re-start according from the instructions given from the support page through Nokia. After that it works perfect as new or better. Just DON´T disconnect the device when running the re-start, it may take some time. Through Nokia Suite it was easy to make a copy before making the re-start and to load it back to the phone after. Two apps that didnt work before now works perfect :)

Of course, 700 is miles better than 311 coz 700 is a smartphone, can do true multitasking, can view microsoft stuffs (word, powerpoint, excel) has a better browser (and browsing experience too) and many more. Besides, S40 is a simple and dumb OS. Symbian is still smarter on it.

I own both and it is a toss-up to me. 700 wins on size (smaller = better in my book) and is what I carry with me most times. Battery easily lasts a day or two with a few conference calls and turning internet on only when I need it. Random music listening, etc. 701 wins on battery life, screen size and camera. QWERTY much easier to use on the larger screen. (I usually end up using T9 with the 700) Pictures are way better with 701. Speakerphone, speed/response, navigation are similar for both, and I don't game on them, though the provided games on the 701 are very good with no lag (EA Golf and some driving game) Size is everything for me, so the 700 is my daily driver. If it was less of a consideration (or if the 701 was thinner) I would probably go with 701.

It's a lie fp2 does not play MKV, HD MP4, FLV and other HD VIDEOS.(HD VIDEOS are videos that the resulution are between 1020x720 and above) But with fp1 I was able to play all kinds of video format both HD VIDEOS no matter the resolution excerpt .vob (for DVD) and .dat (for VCD) 2. The automatic navigation key that apears on the keyboard of fp2 that enables you to navigate back nd front of a text to correct errors does not work in all application. eg in opera mobile and many more

this is my first touchscreen. Tried out iphones and samsungs before getting this, and am very satisfied with my 700. Fast, crisp, beautiful. The perfect size, not too big and not too small (for my liking). Nokia Belle is huge relief over Symbian ^3 and performs like a treat. Had it for a month, the battery holds usually for 4-5 days. I'm an average user and am not crazy over apps, that's probably why it holds so well. Great call quality. In other words, everything I ever need from a smartphone. Only disappointment is the camera, could've been better. On the other hand you cannot expect a superb camera fitted into a phone as thin as the 700. PS I've read numerous complaints regarding the 700's performance after updating Belle to Feature Pack 1. I didn't update mine and it performs fast enough and without bugs or glitches. So for future 700 buyers, don't use the FP1 update if you don't need it.

Very glad I got Nokia 700 now and not Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray (other option for a small, powerful smartphone) after latest issues over the JB upgrade and complaints concerning bugs in the ICS release Nokia certainly have better support policies than Sony I think I'm going to miss Symbian when the time comes to replace my Nokia 700

Old phone with rather old bluetooth stack inside the phone. Check out BH-111 and BH-221 also. Both can be used with your own head phone, 3,5 mm jack. BH-610 has more advanced bluetooth decoders. I am not the expert, but I think BH-111 could be just fine actually in your case. Attach 32 ohm headphones, BH-111 is loud also.

Buy a spare battery to have in your wallet, BP-5Z can be bought for about 13 Euro in online shops, at least here in sweden. 22g to carry in your wallet and it doesnt take any space actually.

5230 has rather old bluetooth stack, not sure BH-610 is worth it, anyway can be bought here in europe; I think BH-111 is quiet enough and if you connect 32 ohm headphones it is loud to (if thtat matters). BH-221 is also a good choice I think, more features.. and then you have Bh-610 which is another story.

The fp2 update doesn't change the icon layout and it is the same 3x4 layout. The most noticeable changes are a new swipe to unlock screen (the meego style), new music player skin, more widgets, new keyboard with word prediction and some performance tweaks. With regards to app compatibility all the apps I had prior to the update are running good after the update too. I have some 50 installed and they are fine.

Not necessarily the case - better headphones will sometimes make a product sound worse because they let you hear the imperfections better The bluetooth transfer mechanism (translate analogue to digital for transfer and back to analogue again in the headset) will also cause some signal degredation - for the same quality of headphone a wired connection will always offer better quality of signal transfer. And with bluetooth and you get a radiation source sitting right behind/inside your ear into the bargain (not very good for your health!)

Not true, I still have my old phone and if I liked it better than the Nokia 700 I would still use it - but I don't E52 has better audio quality and much longer battery life, and you can use SIP on it via Fring (can't get SIP on Nokia 700 to work and Fring isn't compatible). On all other counts Nokia 700 is better than E52, particularly build quality. Nokia 700 is very well made whereas E52 has terrible build I'm a musician and used to be a bit of an audiophile with a background in audio electronic design (DACs and other digital to audio processing circuits) so I have some idea what decent sound quality is - though I don't expect to get it from *any* mobile phone

I think you have a point there. Using superior quality earphones will definitely improve the audio experience. This means I can get further improved audio quality from my nokia 5230. I just can't let hold of my precious 5230 despite my current possession of nokia 700 because of the excellent music experience. I use only bluetooth headset nowadays, excellent Nokia Essence BH-610 having just super audio quality and is very functional carry around without disturbance with cords and so on. Especially the enclosed neck wrap makes it easy to have around your neck.. Sometimes I use Nokia BH-111 with own 32ohm headphones attached in the 3,5 mm jack. For adjustment of the sound output in your ears, but the application "Equalizer" in Nokia store. Worth every cent. Euro 1.... I am very pleased.

If you mean ringtone volume then the front-facing speaker helps when it's on a desk, but in your pocket it is very quiet and I miss calls all the time E52 has louder ringtone volume (and better sound quality from the external speaker as well!). I even moved the jazzy 'Canvas' ringtone from my E52 to my Nokia 700, but it doesn't sound as nice coming from the Nokia 700 external speaker. Again the Nokia 700 sounds a bit harsher and thinner through external speaker than the E52 Nokia 700 is much better built than the E52, maybe slightly better build quality than the E72 (itself much better than the E52). Battery life doesn't come anywhere near, however :-(

I really second your comment and I accept the fact that 700 doesn't excel on music grounds. The audio quality on my nokia 5230 is far superior than the 700 and I still use my two and a half year old 5230 to listen to music. The dolby enhancement on the 700 adds a little improvement though.

Not sure about the E72 but to my ears the sound quality of my E52 is quite clearly better than the sound quality of my Nokia 700 when played back through my Sennheiser CX300mk2 headphones The E52 sounds less harsh and has more bass with better definition. Some of the more recent audio chips used in audio applications are actually worse for sound quality than older ones (though they are also cheaper), you can see the same effect in iPods which sound worse from the fifth generation onwards than the third and fourth generation versions The interface of the Nokia 700 mp3 player works much better than the E52 version however... I was forever hitting the wrong button on the E52 player!

But there's usually loads of money where Microsoft is. Windows Phone is a long-term game. A game that is expected to pick up once Windows 8 is out. It only has a 5 MP camera and not to discourage you from buying this handset, the camera of this handset is not ideal for micro shots and autofocus seems to be below average. But for internet access, it has a great 14.4 Mbps speed which has a great HTML5 grade. Because, it has a capacitive touchscreen, touch response is great and requires less force onto the screen.

I just updated mine to fp2. Added new keyboard with predictive text, but arrow keys gone. New widgets like clocks and notes. New interface for gallery(don't like) and music(meego style which I like). Fixed level 2 haptic feedback. Added cool lockscreen. Nokia evolve theme much lighter which I hate. Overall, good update. (perhaps last?)

I reakon the screen on the nokia 700 is way better than the 701. 701 calls it the brightest smartphone because it has a high contrast ratio. They both do kind of the same job. But Amoled has more colour.

AMOLED is better than LED - IPS coz it saves your battery consumption. I'll tell you straight now, Nokia 701 is really a great phone but I still prefer the 700 over 701 coz of some reasons. But still, it depends on your preference on what you need most and what type of user are you.

I have Nokia 700 and Nokia 700 and the screen is better on 700 regarding crispiness and also the Nokia Sleeping Screen application is much clearer on Nokia 700. The bad thig about 700 is that the letters of the wqerty is a bit to small to type on. i have a solution for this and that is to install swype from Nokia betalabs that makes it a bit easier to type. Anyhow, soon a new qwerty will be available in Beta feature pck 2 for 700 and 701 and the qwerty board will have a new appearance. Hope that it will be better. I recomend the 700 also cause it is louder and that the speaker is on the front. A new 700 could be tye perfect device for me with a better camera and wider approch that would fit a lager screen. I adore the 700 actually.

it's true it doesn't have a front facing camera, but I believe we can make video calls using the main rear camera since there is an option to make video call in the dialer. I corrupted my 700's firmware trying to reset it and had to send it to the service centre. So I couldn't give this feature a try. I sure will try after I get it next week. But I make video calls with my nokia X5-01 and it too doesn' have a front camers. I use the main one.

i believe u must be well aware of the usual procedures. 1. Key in *#0000# using the dialer and you'll get the firmware information page. Press Options and select 'check for updates'. This will check for any firmware updates available and will prompt you to update. 2. You can also select the 'SW update' option from the menu and search for updates. 3. You can connect your phone to a pc using ovi suite and can update using the ovi suite. 4. Or better still, you can take your phone to the nearest nokia care centre and request them to update it.

yes, you can make video calls using the rear camera. The drawback is you won't be able to view the display when making a video call since the display will be turned away from you. But sure you can an occassional glance. Better still, you can change the settings so that an image will be displayed on the phone on the other side and you can view the video from the other side on yours.

you can very well update ur phone to belle fp1 as you'll have a smoother UI and more widgets. it'll also increase your processor speed by 300 mhz and the browser's performance is also increased. but after the update few apps and games become incompatible i think though i haven't tried installing games on mine. The apps are working fine for me. but overall you will get a better experience.

Nokia 700 doesn't have a front camera so you won't be able to make video calls nor taking picture using front camera. What you see infront of it is just a piece of sensors. So its impossible to use Skype and video call. I have this phone and its an excellence phone. You should try it and you'll never ever forget

please dont lie just to throw dirt on nokia's name. I have this 700 for almost a year now, i bought this together with my galaxy w. Galaxy w is my 2nd phone because i oftenly drop my phones and galaxy w will breakdown if it drops cause it's all plastic. Unlike 700. And my galaxy w drains for only 12 hrs. My nokia 700 is fast and it's color doesnt fade, please dont lie bout that. It last through a day and a half for a single charge, and doesnt restart. What's even more interesting is that my 700's camera is great! Unlike what gsma reviewed. The photos looks great and hd video is just stunning. Please, 700 is my fave baby, i supposed u are a fandroid.

Hi I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP!! SOmething went wrong with my 700 after a hard reset.I downloaded an app for the nokia store via pc and installed it via usb cable. the app was NetQin antivirus. Nice selection buddy.. Well nokia 700 excess over the SE live in terms of display nd battry life.. SE live has a 3.2 inch display bt its resolution is 320x480 with 180ppi pixel density on the other hand nokia 700 has an Amoled display with the resolution of 360x640 with 229ppi pixel density And 2nd SE live can play music upto 17 18h only bt 700 can play upto 35h so nokia 700 has a bright display and gud battry over the se live...cameara is almost the same bt js se live have to more featuers in cam nd those r image stablization and smile detection and touch focus.. Both handset r capable of recording 720p HD videos also the nokia 700 has 14.4mpbs speed in 3G bt se live have only 7.2mbps over both r gud 700's belle is much better nd enhased then the android 2.2 gingerbread.. Did the same heavy duty battery test for Nokia E6 also. It holded for 5 hours and 15 minutes. And also for Nokia 701 which delivered 4 hours and 15 minutes of music streaming over 3G with bluetooth headset attached all the time. Perhaps 100 minutes of webbrowsing also during the test. Nokia 700 delivered far less in this battery test of heavy duty. A spare battery is always recomended to have in the wallet. Battery charger DC-16 is also a very good thing to have in the briefcase if you really do a lot of data use over 3G and other heavy power using. I still love all 3, Nokia 701 is overall recomend but Nokia 700 is a real beauty I think. Btw Nokia E6 has by far the best audio quality and it seem also to have the best connectivty among all phones in the market.

The battery lasted 3 hours and approx 10 minutes in my hard core battery test

Hi I actually did a hard core battery test today, 3 email accounts syncing every 30 minutes. bluetooth headset on all the time and connected to listen to music over 3G (streamed using 3G data) over high bit rates or high quality music audio.a total of around 280MB of data during this time. The battery is ok. around 45 min of webbrowsing also in the test. Get the battery backup dc-16 from nokia. it is brilliant to charge the battery on the run... The battery is ok but if you do a lot of heavy suurfing and streaming over 3G you must get a spare battery or dc-16 or both as i have done....i also use Nokia 701 and Nokia e6 and i will do the same test the next days for them. I must say that Nokia 700 is a beauty and i recomend it.

Nice phone, especially black background. However, it screws up getting blocked time after time, and recently, quite often! Even though I upgraded to FP1, it still poses problems while freezing when someone is calling - remedy: just remove the battery! Too bad that NOKIA didn't work out its Symbian on touch pannel screens.
