I recently got this phone, brand new in the box, from a store that sells old phones. Paid around 80 $, but tottaly worth it. It works great, battery lasts long (for a smartphone) and really has the WOW factor on people. Love it :)

hehe, trully indeed; I've bought this phone from the begining and this was my ONLY phone till November 2012 when I bought Yellow Lumia 920. I used without problems all it's functions, also flashplayer :)))) At that time it was the only device with a few beautiful flash games. What times was and beautiful!

Hello Ramachandran, I have this lovely Nokia phone and I used it very little because I use 3G Usim cards with contract. I have saved it jealously because it is a must have in hardware geek collection and for the fact that it runs also the popular Navigation system for mobile with Bluetooth SIRF STAR3 and I managed to upgrade the firmware through Nokia just because I bought it as it was a last one in a shop in Italy in 2008. I have all the original boxes, headphone charger 2 pens and wallet in A grade conditions. Also the original little slim mmc memory with holder. if you feel slow try installing switcher for best video experience use TCPMP for best browsing use BOLT browser fro best Downloading use UCWeb fro best Audio player use OGG Player i am still using it works fine on Gsm GPRS cant say about 3G for those who wants its battery you can get it from Grant Road , MUMBAI ask your friend who is going to India also you can get a tiny 3.5 audio jack converter from the same place firmware update is a risky business since no-one in the market truly understand this phone anymore so dont risk it.. regards immi.shk

Nokia 7710 is an Ultimate device produced by Nokia. I am using this phone since 2006 and there is no problem except battery, which I recently changed to new one. Another worrisome fact about this device is its a little bit slow, but with a little patience its a joy to handle it....Cheers..

hiii there since u have used this phone recently or at least ur post is dated 2011 i would like to know if u can use the GPRS/WAP services on the phone in todays time because here in the UK many phones that arnt 3G cant use the internet facilities available on the network and the 7710 isnt 3G. T-Mobile for example if its a 2.5G phone you cant surf on the phone because the network only supports 3G and 3.5G.

This phone is truly amazing! Unfortunately they do not make them like this anymore!!! It has amazing powers of self recovery/healing. I one put mine on the cistern of the toilet as I took a dump.....after flushing the toilet, when I reached for the phone, it slipped out of my hand and landed right into the middle of the toilet pan, in the water!!! I immediately picked it out and removed the battery, I then proceeded to buy a kilogramme of rice and I buried it in there for about three days. I later retrieved it, blew out the rice particles in the various crevices and when I put back the battery and powered it on, it was still working . The sceen initially had some haloes in the left right area but these also vanished gradually over a few weeks. About one year ago it developed a black spot on the screen that kept on increasing in size and I thought I was going to loose this phone finally. When I travelled to Melnourne in Australia between May and August 2010, it was winter time and somehow the black spot progressively vanished until it cleared from the screen. I came back to Uganda in May and somehow the spot has reappeared but other than just preventing reading a few words on the screen, the phone is still in good working condition. I bought this phone about 4 years ago and I bought an E71 to replace in when I travelled to Australia but I found that the 7710 was still superior to the E71 in terms of surfing experience,FM radio, music player, call quality and the WOW fator. I managed to buy another housing from fascia nation through amazon and it was delivered to my P.o.bOX in Kampala -Uganda, it came in gold colour and it undoubtedly gave the phone a brand new look. People are still blown away by this ancient phone. My only problem with it currently is the black spot which I think will disappear when I am back in Australia later this year in the winter again and the battery lasts for only 5 days on standby. On a whole I love this phone to bits, love its WOW factor and I am still going to keep it inspite of the fact I have ordered for a samsung b7722 through amazon.I love the latter for its dual sim and yet good specs list. Bless you all 7710 lovers....you have great decision making abilities.

..now i can say this phone is one of the best, ive been using it for almost 6 years. and my batt is still great. also, this phone is top when it comes to durability.. Ive accidentally submerge it twice in a liquid (pitcher of beer and water for almost 30mins) the screen gets blurred but after a week it just become normal.

its a great phone. im using it right now with my sun sim. i have upgraded it to 4.10 using JAF Flasher. its an old phone but it looks great. ive set it up to use sun's unlimited internet. works fine but the internet browser always eats up lots of memory so i used Opera mini as browser and shmessenger as yahoo messenger.

dude, m usin rs-mmc 2gb, works 5n.. for th mmc card detection.. buy a cheap duplicate body(matchin color) of 7710 costs arnd 2 3 $ in india.. n use only its back_cover.. n if u hav th orignal body n want 2 use it anyways thn.. take th magnet out of tht duplicate cover n glue it on ur OJ back.cover.. i did th same... hope it helps.. regards i m r a n

i still have this phone and yeah am still using it until now. works with no problem except i can't find any software for it until now. i'm using a 2 gb and still no problem with it. i hope that this one doesn't give up soon. i love this phone and in my opinion, nothing beats this one until now. btw, this is not a s60 phone, this is the only s90 os that nokia has ever made. hope they make one in the future. the one with forever living phone, runs endlessly. hehe.

I had this phone for about two years and I only sold it because I usually get bored with a phone after a year... This one stuck with me much more than that and I have to say I was really pleased with it, the only problem was it's size... I started reading the review because I had a bit of nostalgia and I found a flaw in it... It's nothing major but the reviewer wrote, that the only the back cover is removable... Not true actually, both the front and back covers can be removed and changed very easily...

I had this phone for less then 6 months and it just shut down and it never turned on anymore, I still charged it and it won't turn on, I was told by technician that it has a software problem, I was also told that I had to send it to it's main origin and thats in europe, but when it was new and had no problems it was a great phone I've done so much things on this phone,I still have it, but I wish someone can help me find a repair shop for it here in the states, Please help me anyone.

I think were not doing so badly on this one,though there is the shortcoming on the camera,and the quality is too low.but otherwise the phone has a large display that corresponds with its functions.i think it would be ideal for those who use wireless internet more often.I like it too,but they are not easy to get here,.Am in Uganda......If anyone can get me a used one,i wd pay for it handsomely.am on contact; [email protected] .hope to hear from someone soon.

Yes, I agree with all of you saying this phone is nice. Well, sometimes it makes me very angry when it stop responding in some apps. Especially while browsing. But generally speaking, it is a nice piece of technology. But, unfortunately my dear friend 7710 died recently. It felt out of my clumsy hand, and display broke. As far as I know, display costs around 100 EUR (at least here in Croatia), and it is just to expensive for such an old phone. The worst thing is that I can not synchronize my phone data, because display is completely dead. So, my advice to all of you happy owners - do your backups often. Otherwise you will have a big problem. NOKIA smart phone NOW, NOKIA smart phone FOR EVER.

hi my phone battery went flat and i could not get it back on so it i took to nokia who fixed it and it lasted 3 days but when the battery went flat it never came back on even if i charge it there is no light nothing. I can not pay 350 to nokia over and over any advice.

if your phone doesnt detect your memory card then u r probably not using the original faceplates. I would advise you to switch back to the original faceplates and when you r putting them on, ensure that u put them on when you close the back u should hear the back "snap" shut. I hope this works for you.

change the memory card. u can get a 1 gig mem card for less than US $5. i have had the phone for 3 yrs, and when this happens, then nothing works better than changing the card. even formatting does not work.

I was searching for any solution for my nokia 7710, I recognised when I saw some of the forum that users have posted the same problem I have nokia 7710 it is now in white screen only. When I tried to format using three keys, at the time unfortunately bettery is very low so I am not sure but I think it started the unfortunately the bettery went off. I'm very exciting for using this phone:it have office function very good(in it's original software can read power point aplications),a large lcd with a good resolution,the internet browser is excellent.With latest ffirmware is moving a bit slowely but it's OK.I'm waiting for 5800 to appear on the market and surelly we gone find more apps for that model because is a series 60' based platform.I have this phone from the first time when it appeared and I'm very glad with this wonderful phone!

i have this device since feb 2006, im planning to buy a E90 or E71. But now it's getting more interesting, i configured my personal corporation e mail account & i received push e mails like in normal desktop... wow no need to open my laptop, my gprs works very fine & e mails keeps on coming & i kept in touch... i'll have this phone for 1 more year... Office Application, very nice, u can edit it & attach it in e mail... movies? no mobile phone can compare the screen except for E90, which is very pleasant in the eye watching DVD's on it. 7710 owners.... be proud having this phone in your possession!!! I need some help. I am using Nokia 7710 from 2005. My phon has got some problem now. it is gettng swithced off freequently. Now it is totally down. i cha nged with a new batter ywhich cost me 2000 Rs. when you connect it to the battery it not showing any symptom of getting charge and it is not coming up. some times it will show charging and if you press it will boot. But after some times if it shaked or something it will again went off if u try to swithc it on it iwll not come, some times if uremove the battery and put it again it will come up but with full battery. I think there is some problem with the Board or some where it is gettng the power.... i want your help to get it reapired. Built in browser is slow but can view full web pages (just like browsing in the pc) Use opera mini 4.1 instead for the browser, can still view full webpage and its fast. mini.opera.com

Its a cool PDA, the reason that some people are disatisfied of this phone is because they expect features that you can find on a laptop or a desk top, Come on guys!!! the only thing that i find hard on this phone is finding a leather case. but overall this is a usable unit that i would hang on to as long as its working.

hi Venkat i hope that you see my comment i m the main "tecnique" in the bigest nokia care point in my country what my coleges have to do it�s what we call a swap service of the mother-board. what happen to your phone was a fatal error in the sistem so the only way to repare it its the "swap". any doubt you can contact your nokia local line.

Yes, you surely can use this set as GSM modem to surf internet from your PC/Laptop. I'm in Bangladesh. I used it and got very good performance. Just install the Nokia PC suite, then modem driver will be installed. Then you may have to write the AT command (I had to write).

The 7710 has EDGE. When you use it on an EDGE enabled network you will notice the faster speed for example when running opera mini browser compared to non-EDGE networks. I have tried it out here in Uganda(You know where that is)and I noticed the difference. But its not something that you go find in your phone and turn on. It automatically comes into use when the network is able to provide the service. And one more thing that makes me love this phone to bits is that its got an undeniable "wow" factor. Everytime you pull it out of your pocket,somebody is going to be going"wow, is that one of the latest N series?" Just last week a mate of mine came over form the UK and he had this sleek TOUCH SCREEN LG with three megapixel camera and real LED flash,however he was still blown away by the 771O. I love this baby like anything. Unfortunately a fire incident soaked this phone in water and it went dead. I am trying my best to get it repaired. Even today, no phone in the market shines like this one. If this phone had a wi-fi it would have been even better. Does anyone know any repair tips? All you 7710 lovers I salute you, for you truly know what a great phone is. Unfortunately Nokia does not know what a great phone should be. I am still miffed at their decision not to follow up on the 7710 by making it better or giving it HSDPA Or UMTS so we can enjoy its widescreeen even bettter with 3G. You see I live in a Uganda, which according to a movie called "the hunting party" is in "darkest of Africa"..but forget it, we've got blackberry services and now also have 3G. hey guys! i recently got a Nokia 7710 and I don't manage to download my contacts from the device into my new mac. What am I doing wrong? I can't synchronise using iSync because it's not a supported model, and when I tried to browse using bluetooth (it doesn't matter in what direction) it gives me an error message (connection lost). I have managed to transfer videos and photos but not the contacts! Please help!!

Shuvo...check if you still have your bluetooth profile existing in the phone...Delete all bluetooth devices from the phone and reconnect them again. First turn on device, then phone bluetooth...Should ask you for BT pin auth. That's it...

i just got my nokia 7710 this day.. this model may be considered to be outdated as compared to my n95-8GB, n90, n73 and n70 phones but i could say that the stylus feature of the 7710 makes it a stand-put among my other phones. I bought this phone 1 week ago...used, of course but in perfect condition! Not a single miniature scratch on it! Like the time stopped for this phone!...LOL Whenever I take it out, people around look at it like it's something from outer space. And when they see NOKIA on it, they are completely baffled! In one week i had over dozen requests to sell it! Never ever happened to me before! I did a full format on it, installed like 100 different softwares and themes, and didn't have a single glitch with it so far. True, it's a bit sluggish, but that doesn't bother me a bit. Bluetooth is working perfectly and amazingly fast. The battery lasts for over 2 days, and I'm clicking or doing something with it all the time, so it's under heavy use. Plus I use HS-11W bluetooth headset with it. The radio sounds perfectly. Loud and crisp clear. Even better then my car radio! Voice dialing works great, camera is decent and touch screen is perfect! Since I'm a big fan of touch-screen gadgets, take my word for it! I really don't understand why would Nokia dump this phone?!?!? If they were smart enough to put faster processor inside, they would blow away like 99% of competing PDA market! BAD move Nokia! I just hope you'll come to your senses soon and give us something like this again!

I've had my 7710 for over a Year with some problems. The battery capacity faded quickly but I found a solution to this by charging it with a older Nokia ACP-7E charger. The battery capacity is now as it was new or even better but I have to use the ACP-7E wich charge slowly 3-4 hours.

Hi, I am still using 7710. This is my second one, which I have bought at 2005. I have lost the first one !! I believe this is one of the best phones I have ever used. I have also used many other nokia models (and sony ericson). Dont know why Nokia has discontinued this model. Just updated the firmware to 4.58 - the nokia service center at calcutta has charged Rs500 for that (though it is displayed in the service center that software upgradation charge is Rs150). Anyway, I have found this one much better than the over hyped N series phones. These are the best features of the phone: a. Large display and probably the first touch screen phone. b. Internet surfing at its best. Not found such beautiful surfing experience in any other phones. c. Handwritting recognition and on screen keyboard. I have agile messenger and I chat with my friends - in much faster speed than people do in keyboard. d. The single mono speaker is excellent for listening musics (using 2GB card now). The Visual Radio is also excellent. e. The mail options are excellent. f. The alarm, to do and calender - dual time in clock, the preview of sms and mails, customised profile ....everything is excellent. g. I play on line chess from my mobile at www.playchess.com. What else can you expect from your mobile? h. I also use this as a storage drive. i. The camera takes reasonably good photograph. I am not interested about GPS as its not useful to have the same in a mobile - if required, I shall buy a seperate GPS device for my car. Also the map of Calcutta I have checked in N95 is not updated at all. Also WIFI is not available in India in such a way. So I am not missing that part also. Any body else still using 7710 now?

friends , you can now access Gmail on your 7710 by downloading and runnning operamini browser . You might have to change your network service providers though because some of them will not let you run operamini as i discovered. Otherwise the inability to access gmail was my only black spot on this fine phone till I found a way around it. The music player is great and the camera is too good for just a one meagapixel camera. As a whole its a phone worth investing in.

THE BEST PHONE EVER! I've had three phones and after each one I went back to this phone. Widescreen = awesomeness. Just get a 3gp converter and it is great for watching movies on it. Touchscreen, all the apps... All the best for this phone, the only thing is that it might be a bit slow in case you have lots on it - like a gig. Hello there! my problem is, when I'm using a travel charge, it won't charge. But when I take out the battery and charge with a desktop charger (that's what they call it on the store were I bought it) it will charge. PBL, most troubles are related to old firmware. If you happen to get one with an old FW, just have it updated at a Nokia servicepoint. Should be free service. To check, just open the phone dialer and key in "*#0000#". That displays version information. Current version is 4.x something. Also, check the battery is making good contact and check if the pop-port plug on the headset is still good. Seems to be a weak point on the headset. After a lot of plugging and unplugging it gets worn and might disconnect occasionally.

its the best phone ever made by nokia. its a PDA loaded with everything you desire. i simply love the speaker quality of this phone in the visual radio mode. the camera is awsome for a 1megapixel smartphone. however the phone could have used better zooming technology. the video mode is not all that great however the overall features of this phone supercedes all its flaws. one word to describe this phone - SPECTACULAR !!

I love my 7710, Pro's- None other like it, does everything possible on a phone, great convo starter, and I use it as my laptop on the go. Great phone. Con's- Slow, cant press alot of buttons really fast or it will FREEZE! Not alot of memory (so get a memory card), You need a screen protecter B/C its touch screen. My clock doesnt update when I go out of the state, but maybe its just mine. Ow and dont drop it, it breaks easily. Over all- Great phone, just needs to be quicker.!

Great phone, have one problem though. I dropped the phone, sent it in to my service provider and to Nokia. They retured the phone saying it has internal track damage and that its beyond economical repair. Any suggestions????

Important resume Nokia 7710 very nice. 1. Problems may ocure when you tray to work it like pentium 4, so do not. the phone has a CPU that works at 150mhz, so it is more like Pentium 1, do not try to run a lot of aplications on it at the same time and do not play with buttons while in process (hangs) let it finsh the firs operation. ROM (internal disk) can not be corupted so do not let others take yours money for nothing. Instal the programs that you need for normal operation. Pico drive can hang your fone so you will think it is dead but is not. HARD RESET rules, the aplications that you did instal on MMC will still be there if you remouve the MMC when using a hard reset. So think obout it, I did it this way, on 128MB stuff for usual use working stuff and on MMC 1GB fun, music, films, games, any taime it start a hang Hard reset (once in 4 months when a kid play with it) so that is it folks. Nice day.

to zane: im sorry to say this but you encountered the same problem that i did with my phone... your phones hard drive is corrupted... maybe you kept installing programs in your phone thats untrusted... it can still be fixed but the cost is as the same price of your phone... so i suggest that you buy another 7710.. i have many programs installed in my 7710 when i still have it... got pico drive and lots of games in it... the only regret is that i abused my phone by installing unimportant programs... my advice is that when you upgrade your phone their is 50/50 chance of failure... but if your really sure that your phones memory is not corrupted then go for the upgrade... when the upgrade is done the original factory settings will be restored and new applications will be installed... and your chance of encountering phone hang is 4% out of 100%... and your phone becomes more faster... im planning to get another 7710 even if its a second hand... the phone is great... and im contented with it... and may i add... if u want programs for your 7710.. just go to yahoo groups... and sign in... and search for 7710... then a lot of groups of n7710 users will appear with lots of cool programs... BUT BEWARE... INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK... ciao guys.. just send me an email if you have and inquiry about 7710 ok... i hope i can help you... love your phone... use it... dont abuse it...

i got this phone october 2006... it was very cool then... but beware... do not keep on installing different softwares in your 7710... because of my carelessness i damaged the hard drive of my 7710... then it kept on shutting off... and it always freezes... this phone is very good... it surpassed my expectation... my advice to you guys is take care of your 7710... do not abuse it... do not install unimportant programs... i think you should reformat or upgrade your phones version at any nokia service center... so that viruses will be deleted in your phone... i dont know what kind of program damaged my phone... thats why i sold it immediately... before i sold it i went to nokia... i was hoping they could fix it... but they told me that my phone was beyond economical repair... and it was considered a deadset...

This is a mind blowing phone with high specifications which are needless to mention.. Better than many other Nokia phones and one of the world's best Touch Screens.. But one problem was there I couldnt find any software upgrade... Very few softwares and themes available for it due to its big screen... But even though I loved this one... hi all .. i've ben usin this handset fro over 6 months now and it workin well but my feedback about it is 7/10 good things 1- very good reseluation screen 2- internet connection workin very good 3- battry not bad for touch screen it last after 2 and half days . 4- nice speaker and sound quality is very high . 1- slow performance :the hanset too slow even if u wants to take a picture by its camra or viwe the saved pictures . 2- from time to time u have to reset the divice ( hard reset ) to free the handset rom otherwise u wont be able to use the phone . 3- over all i don't like symbian 90 too slow and hevey OS as well as its supported softwear as its not avlble and u have to pay for it as its not free 4- the big problem is using the divece with one hand for exp if ur drivin. 5- no 3G on it or infrared connection

Yeah its MMC doesnt work without its genuine backcover. Bcos if u remove its backcover then u'll find a senser on ur fone thats located just upside of battery n a code is located on backcover just in front of that senser when u close it to de fone. The code has a view like a clock.

hello Relicpassion.. the smartmovie dosent hang on 7710..make sure u have latest smartmovie installed like 3.25 also u can use tcpmp instead of smartmovie.. 2.and the dust dosent go inside screen....firt ,if u buy new nokia 7710,there will be a screen protector covering screen..dont remove that...u can laminate screen also.. 3.7710 is worth buying..it depends on u that weather u like 6630 or 7710..

Well about the price I think it is a good deal but I have another question. I am planing to instal a bluetooth access point on me PC that is conected via ADSL to internet, and planing to buy a Clas 1 bluetooth so I can use it in 100m distance, that means 7710 will conect to internet on LAN and reduce price for use of internet, that means that I ll be in the garden and use my phone wile I burning in the sun. I still like this phone! I've posted here about a month ago and I still love this phone. Still a positive feedback after 2 months :) I've managed to get a good screen protector now, it's H&K brand, I'm getting some protector for o2xda that has this paper-like texture and will be cutting it to the size of this phone. One thing I noticed though is that the stylus' tip easily gets this tiny scratch that REAALLY scratches the screen (good thing I already have a screen protector), the tip of the stylus isn't sturdy enough to stand minor bumps on rough surfaces. Anyone suggest a better stylus replacement with a better tip?

i have the nokia 7710 since a year and in the begining i thought it would be cool but after 3 days i discovered that you have to take care of its touch screen because its so senstive and also when writing a message you should have the pen with you and if you dont, you will spend hours writing and one of its worst disadvantages is its video quality..its so so poor and its details are so unclear so think wisely before purchasing it...if you want to ask or know anything about the nokia 7710 E-mail me!!!

Hey folks... The 7710 is arguably the best mobile phone there ever was. All the negative reviews one hear are from ppl who doesn't understand this marvel at all. They should've taken some time to explore it's possibilities before coming out with such openions.. The 7710 has the best sound output among all mobile phones out there... Terrific touchscreen. I'm on an unlimited GPRS plan, and spends all my free time surfing from the phone. Hasn't come across any other pnone.. yet, which can offer such a pleasent internet surfing experience. And i love the contact options, the unlimited phone book capacity.. This phone of mine can sure rivel some yellow pages out there.. it's so loaded with contact info. I bought the phone for about Rs 21000 around an year back.. and now this model is no longer available. All my friends are so keen to get this same model for themselves, but alas, not even pre-owned ones are easily available anymore. Some even offered me the same price i bought this for to induce me into selling this to them! Come what may, I'm not going to.. no way.I use a 1 GB mmc on my 7710. Works like a breeze. I'm using a kingston 1GB and it's working fine. :) TCPMP rocks! I do not have to lower the framerate. :) just remember when converting with xilisoft, do not use "letterbox", use "Keep aspect ratio". Here's the settings I use. 320x140 Aspect Ratio: 2 Bitrate: 256 Frames: Auto Audio: 48kbps Sampling: 22050 Stereo and the vids play like on the pc. :) I'm watching movies like Ghost and Bruce Allmighty with my phone, I've also wathced a few Hunter x Hunter vids and X-men evolution with this settings and believe me, it just works. The only problem with tcpmp is that plugging in the headset does not mute the loudspeaker. :)

I bought mine 2 weeks ago! By far, it has indeed surpassed all negative reviews that I've read. They say it's slow, heck, I just used to have an ngage and it was slow - But it was the best s60 phone for me :) I've had several hang ups with this phone, but it was my fault, I opened too many apps at once. This phone is great for reading pdfs on the go, watching movies with tcpmp, playing puzzle games (jewelrumble, marble maniac, etc. java games), and the themes rocks (toddler, grafitti, nothing beats the default theme though). I once had the battery left discharged for half a day and it only cost me 2 mins bootup when I charged it, then it went back on when I kept the plug in. :) The only problem I had with this is finding a good screen protector... partly my fault since I used to buy them for 60php (roughly $1.10) and these cheap lcd protectors either have weak adhesives or get scratched easily by the stylus. I'll be getting a new lcd protector this weekend and I hope to get a good cheap one. I just hope that Nokia inlcuded a good screen protector for this phone, the LCD being bare just scares me to death. :)

I can open any web page, but i can't use any chat applications. Okay. I bought a used Nokia 7710. It looks and feels nice. The performance, thought a bit slow, is perfectly acceptable if we do not expect powerhorse performance. The firmware which came installed is 4.10 which was the first major upgrade Nokia released for it. A lot of improvements made surely. The calling and voice quality is high, crisp. But I do feel that 10% louder than the loudest is necessary at times when I am in a noisey environment. No problem when I wear the headset. The call receive and disconnect buttons could be much much better. My touchscreen has a damaged spot right at the bottom of the screen and one smaller spot right in the middle of the screen. This does make me a bit unhappy, but frankly the one at the centre, is not noticed and the one at the bottom does not matter. One question: What is the approx. cost of replacement of the glass on the screen? Is it available? The battery performance - mixed emotions. I have the phone for last almost 15 hours. The seller did charge the phone, but I doubt that it was fully charged. But the battery bars are full. I restarted the phone manually to check the effect on battery and there was no problem. Office applications are nice, handy and easy to use. Handwriting recognition is super. Organizer applications are very well put. I haven't tested the connectivity. Just because of the little damage to the screen, I wasn't satisfied 100%. But otherwise it really is an awesome phone. But not for the masses.

i've had this phone for at least a year and i'm not currently using it right now since it is not working anymore. I've tried to have it repaired, but alas all I have now is an oversized, expensive and shiny paperweight. Hi Friends, I have been using the Nokia 7710 since 8 months now and the phone has been a terrible nightmare. Sometimes the phone works & some time it wont work. The phone is good no doubt but when the phone reboots on its own atleast twice in a day its nightmare. One day the mic & speaker of the phone stopped working completely and after a couple of hrs it started on it own. Since last evening i wasnt able to create a message as the option would not operate and then the phone switches itself off & does not turn on when tried to charge it freezes at the startup mode. And as of now the phone does not work & its a mere paper weight. Guys before buying this phone please check your other options before buying... Regards.

hi, i've been using the 7710 for over a year now. at first (before buying) i thought on reading reviews that the phone was really slow n hangs up n not so gr8 but now i feel that nothing can possibly replace it..truely the widest screen experience..n im still using it with old firmware n still i have absolutely no complaints. its a lil slow when opening pics n apps but in my opinion its a negligible issue!! just organise ur apps n music n vids..use powerfile,n switcher to clean apps in memory to make it faster,theres so much to c that i still feel i dont know my phone thoroughly well enough!!! I love it n dont think anyone would regret buying it!!

A month has passed, since I have purchased my all new NOKIA 7710.The more I use it the more I am getting used to it. Really it has so many things to see ant to learn. What I personally like after using it for a month, is that the FM as well as the MUSIC PLAYER and REAL PLAYER is really too good and they can play almost any frequency and WMV,AAC,MP3 file format.What I do, is that I connect my smartphone via USB Data cable to my home PC and transfer all the music tracks from my PC after a careful scanning. I even copy the MP3 tracks from CD's. It is really awesome.I always looked for a big screen cell phone and I do have a peculiar penchant for using cell phones of various companies. I have used Samsung D 820, Motorazr vxi, LG RD 6000 and now I am using NOKIA 7710. I think it is better than NOKIA 3230,3250,6600,6230.6270.6630.7610. But the problem I find is that of low sound while talking, especially in a busy street or if I have to travel in a bus.It does not support the VISUAL RADIO as I am using AIRTEL MAGIC as my service provider. I really don't know that if this high class phone works better in some other countries other than INDIA. As I used to live in KOLKATA, may be I am not getting certain services!!! Let me see what else can I discover from this wonderful PDA. Bye for now....................

AM having this phone for over an year. Its a good phone with that "wow" screen. Alwary when i take this phone people have a fixed look on the phone's screen. i dont have any major complaints with this phone. Over all this phone is good and i would recommend this phone if u need a good multimedia device..

I have had my Nokia 7710 for well over a year. In my view, it is the very best design Nokia has produced - Excellent handwriting software, excellent sound quality, excellent camera, reasonable battery life. Sadly, the operating system is unstable and, in my view, incomplete. Specific issues: 1) It hangs up every now and then and you sometimes must remove the battery and re-insert (the only way to reset it) for it to work. 2) The applications cannot be completely closed and removed from memory. If you have several applications running, you can overload the memory and the thing starts to act funny. You would need a 3rd-party software like Switcher to be able to shut down applications properly. 3) Setting the proxy for GPRS Internet access is virtually impossible. Although it has the options of http and https protocols. when you set to http, it always reverts to https. 4) Formatting cells in the spreadsheet is buggy. You try to format a cell and it just has a mind of its own. I am ware Nokia stopped producing this phone because (I hear) the profit margin to them is too small. But if Nokia would revamp the firmware, some of us would be most grateful. I have just bought a Nokia E70 but I have difficulty giving up the 7710.

7710 is the last series 90 phone, even more, the 7710 itself stopped production. All what you can find in the market is residue of what was already manufactured. However, there might be some firmware developments, in my opinion there might be only one more firmware.

hi guys i am having 7710 since 11 month it's so superb that i am not finding best option for replacing mu 7710 the missing is the wifi and equalizer for the music player. i think nokia should release the enhanced model of nokia 7710 guys it's having superb clearity i might not be able to replace it till nokia n92 is released. i think the best award for the clearity n best clear sound should belong to 7710

believe me guys it is not at all slow(am having it for more than 8 mnths) compared to my past phones-6600,3230,se550i i believe it is the fastest and secret is never evr use phone memory+never use a card beyond 512mb+get dual voltage minisd card and use it with adapter(comes free with mini sd) well mine even restarts in 20sec(nice if i compare with all my old models) rest it is theeeeeeeeee beeeeeessssssstttttttttttt phone nokia could ever produce and i love it very much sp the beats it try to reproduce on external speakers and bass with woof it reproduces on earphones it is exceptional quality-crystal clear finally it is best set,nokia just could not get many customers-their bad luck and who got it-their good luck (:>>>>> regrads sachit

The board of my 7710 got fried!!!! I tried to get it repaired and the guy said that a voltage spike completely burned the phone. THIS SUCKS!!!! Its gonna cost over 300 dollars to get a new board. Crap!

I've recently purchased the Nokia 7710 smartphone.It is trendy,attractive,costly and exceptional. Unlike the other cell phones that are available in the market, it is quite large and weighty.It weighes 189 gms.but the wide screen is really a wonderful thing to see.It is a pda in a comparatively lower price than O2,i-mate,HP, etc.To many it has a major drawback, that it has no such typical keypad except few buttons.But the stylus is very handy. But I find it of poor resolution display and the camera has to upgraded to 1.3-2 megapixel.It takes a good time to chang from one mode to another. Besides, the LCD has a yellowish appearance which looks little colourless.In spite of that it is unique in design and can startle anyone.

hey dude...i have sent a post earlier...its about video conversions...the post is here hey dude..proboard is dead...even i loved that place..it had a lot of ausum stuff der....feel lost without it..for all you guys who dont know...please upgrade to the firmware 4.10 coz the camera gets upgraded to 1.23 mp. and the video recording does get a lot smoother..along with that it closes apps if we press the bottom most key on the right side for 5 secs around...and i would advice all you guys to load core media player tmpgc dats the video player for your phone it playes vids with ausum smoothness and brilliant quality..trust me..25 fps is wot its supports...use xilisoft to convt.. 320*140..with 25 fps and bitrate 300 or plus...and audio 32bit and 24000sample rate..and use profile "xvid movie"...install that codec on the pc..and i am telling u guys u gona make the whole world "J"..coz the video quality beats p910 hollow...or any series 60 phone..well i felt like contributing this and leting alll 7710 users know about it... well another things please ppl pass this on to others porboards one of the best 7710 software sharing sites...had gone dead..please guys pass this website to all adn let everyone benifit from it the site is "www.mobilejunkyard.net"...well the tcpmp player is available on that site in software section

to RAjU Try to format your 512 MMC card using the phone. Do not format it using a computer. After formatting the card using the phone, remove it and transfer all your sis files from the computer, insert it again into the phone and evrything should work properly. I experienced the same thing as yours but after doing so, my phone works fine.

Hello friends.i am a new user of 7710.i have purcased this communicator 15 days back.one week this set dosen't gave any problems.but after i have installed 512 mb card.after inserting that card i have installed series 90 themes in that card.whenver iam trying to install that themes iam facing lot of problems.one day my phone displays momory card not installed in your set.i am repaired that card and again ihave installed .then set was created .exe files after one day my mobile phone gave one more problem that is please replase your sim card,restart your phone.this message appeared.then i have removed back cover and re installed the sim card.some times unknowingly this set is restarting this type of problems iam facing.kindly help me friends why it is giving this type of problems.

whoops spoke to soon seen there was a new firmware update so took it to a nokia shop for upgrade and they broke my phone its been away for 5 weeks. the phone worked perfectly until they tried to update it with the wrong equiptment now it just shows nokia then goes white the 4.01 firmware was ok i think i shoulda left it that way

But my problem is far worse now it dosent turn on at all now. I dont know were you live but I live in the tri state area(n.j.) And got my phone fixed in queens. That was the cloest to me. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING THIS PHONE I had it for one year and it no longer works for me. I live in the U.S. and I dont know where I can go to get it fixed. When u buy this phone there is no protection plan, service plan or anything of that nature. When I turn on my phone the Nokia sign comes on then the screen turns all white. It's curtains from there. I can't do anything with it but look at my phone and watch the screen in all white. The phone is madd slow too. You have to turn it off and take out the battery. Then turn it on again. It's a headace. The radio is tha shitt thou. Internet is super slow. Pictures are okay. If anyone knows where I can get my phone fixed let me know.

Hey 7710 fans! I own a 7710 for about two months now. Powerful features, awesome touchscreen, out-of-the world internet browsing experience on a mobilephone. On the flip side, system is a bit slow and unstable. Can't close applications easily! Hey friends... i need help on this one. My 7710 is Gprs enabled, i browse with the phone, on the phone screen. Now, my home PC is bluetooth enabled too. How do i browse the web using the 7710's GPRS, but on the PC? Must be really simple with the bluetooth software on the PC or the USB cable connecting the phone to PC, but i'm not sure how to! Send your valuable help via e-mail pls. this phone is just great. i have now aquired over 150 s90 progams and java progs designed for this phone. you can do more with the 7710 than most PDA's. i love the fact you can watch full dvd's one minute and play emulated sega genesis and gameboy advanced games the next. the basic features of this phone are all you need for a great user freindly experience. i have not had any problems with it so far and i have had it 10 months and im looking for another. admitidly ive spent a lot of money on programs but most others are freeware and there is more people developing progs just search google or yahoo for symbian forums and you will find developers websites, progs are usualy under $15/�8 and well worth it.... there is also a great stereo fm radio and tons of space for my mp3 colection just waiting for the mobile tv and then ill have the perfect phone

will all you people understand the manufacturer's point in making this phone?!!! they made this for premium media experience and for web surfing easeness. so you should only expect that this phone has its some tradeoffs for this advancements. or else if nokia place everything here, the series 60 platform sales will be affected! take into account that nokia will never create such perfect phone because they're also considering some marketing strategies... anyway i really love the elephantine look of this phone. i've been using it for a 4 months and i'm satisfied with it. the only problem are the available third party softwares for this phone.

yeah u can use yahoo messenger on ur 7710 i m usin it and its cool..just download the software agile messenger frm www.agilemobile.com if the web address is not correct just search agile mobile on google and then go to download section and download agile messenger for series 90...and bam u r done...also u can also use msn/icq services other than yahoo on this software... i love my 7710 its da best phone yet...

i do not know if there are many ppl in toronto are usinng this phone however i love it has got everything i can imagine- yes thre was one slight prob with the slowness and hanging but once u flash the phone it is perfect and runs smooth... as per one of the users saying the progs run in the background wrong- this is a symbian phone once you exit or hit the menu botton the soft stops or goes into a que mode where it is not eating battery or memmory

This phone sux bigtime, ppl if ur planning to buy this, take my advise and dont spend money on this stupid mobile. got lots of problems, damm slow processor, no wifi , no lan and hangs a lot and and the worst thing is you cannot download any softwares for this phone ( very rare softwares avaliable for this phone ) and another biggest problem is there is no cancell button, to exist from an application, which means you are actually still in the application when you press menu button. Also another thing is at times when someone calls you, and the ' Answer' button does not respond to you, which goes to a limit that the caller will actually put the phone down thinking that this guy is probably gone to sleep. The biggest problem with 7710 is that it looks like an elephants ear and is really slow, maybe Nokia should get better processors in their next PDA-phones. My rating: Design 5 Features 9 Performance 5

I have been using Nokia 7710 from past 1 year, its a perfect phone for me bcoz i am a bussiness man n my 7710 works like a lap top for me. Now i dont have to carry such a heavy bag on my back every time. But the only problum that i have is this phone works very slow,for eg. if i want to open any option then i have to wait for it for a long time. But this problum is comming from past 2 months, i think formating has to be done on my phone, say another eg. if i am watching a vedio song on smart movie player them it is not so clear n it even hangs a lot. so plz get back to me with a solution of my problum,coz if this does not get resolved i will be changing to O2 which i dont wana do as if now coz what i trust on Nokia.

Menu options to make calls, add contacts and viewing calls made, missed calls and dialled calls are not arranged properly. Some more flexibility that we see in much simpler device are missing here. The support for dual lines is given in the phone but the support for inserting dual sim cards is not seen.

Its good phone but the performance is very slow perticularly when we upload the songs into the memorycard it is taking more than 5 mins to transfer 5mb file from PC to phone.

I am having a problem with my 7710 nokia phone right now. It keeps hanging up on people. I never know when it will hang up but this is an ongoing problem. When I want to make a phone call it won't allow me to press the numbers either, unless I make a phone call from my contact list. I don't know what the problem is, but I do know that I have had my battery for about a year already. So perhaps I need to change the battery. I dont know if this will help the problem. If anyone has this phone and they have had it for at least a year let me know, because its been about a year now that i have had this phone and the life of a battery is usually one year. Or if anyone else is experienceing the same probelm as me let me know what you did to fix the problem.

You can use 7710 as your modem to your pc to browse the internet. 7710 will serve as your dialer. In your fone, while you connect it as such, ofcourse you can't browse using GPRS.

An amazing phone! I have had the 7710 since October last year and have not lost my enthusiasm for it yet!!! It is true that the it is slow at time but it has a huge memory and keeps hundreds of texts, subsequently slowing it don slightly. I have even been able to use MP3 songs as ring tones, which it is not listed to be able to do!!! All my friends envy it and a sales man at a well known phone chain didn't even recognise it! It's smart light and very sophisticated. If u want to know how to ring tone ur MP3's just e-mail me and ill try to help. This is a mint phone!

i owned a 7710 for a month,and i'm really impressed with its capabilities, but there are negative sides of it that i really hate! --- C O N S --- 1. it's not actually that slow as other people say---when you have to text...open some applications etc. but it's very slow opening the file manager especially when u do have downloaded many files. 2. there is no close button in almost all preinstalled applications,pressing the arrow button key for five seconds might help or even having switcher application... but the point there is, having nokia to place a close key in 7710 is a very simple thing to do. and it's so irritating to press that key or opening the switcher coz it takes more time,taking also into account that 7710 runs on a satisfactory speed(but not worst as most say). it's always a MUST to have a switcher,and a MUST to open that switcher in most times making the 7710's satistfactory speed performance more slower. 3. the handwritting recognition does not work pretty well. i will rate it 8 out of 10. especially when writting letter "k"--it is often recognized by the phone as "ll". also im having problems with "N" and "U". also with some other letters... so the on screen keyboard is more reliable at most. speaking of that keyboard, it's better if nokia just placed a button for these special characters rather than mixing these special characters along with the letters in the lower case and the other special characters along with the letters of uppercase. it does really confused me most of the times for i have to tap the uper or lowercase button just to find the character i need. NOTE that also some special characters are along with the numbers also with upper and lower case. its just like finding a file in four folders---again this does make the operation a lot more slower. 4. the weight for me is also a SLIGHT problem(size is not that much for still it fits comfortably in my hand). the weight is ONLY a problem when i do hold the phone for a very long time(its so tiring) consider again the phone's satifactory speed which will really make you hold it for a long time. 5. the plastic finishing is quite cheap(but the quality is great). the glass above camera lens gets to have scratches easily as compared to 6630---not that 6630 has deeply embeded its glass and 7710's is not embeded, but its really due to the difference in the "hardness" of the camera glasses of both phones. 6. limited third party softwares 7. mediocre video recording---its really does look too pixelated (but above average camera still performance) 8. "SKETCH" is not that accurate for i couldn't sketch a dot on the very edge of a 640 x 320 sketch page. when you try to sketch a dot in a certain place it is always sketched above the place where your stylus really pointed,maybe about 5 pixels higher than your target point. When i do write notes in the sketch pad, it can't go with the speed of my hand resulting it to "broken" letters. also there are limited sketch tools. i just do hope theres a sofware just like the paint application in a windows PC. --- P R O S --- 1. above average video playack(not spectacular) 2. crisp camera still quality and with detail. 3. near spectacular music playback in headset, and quite near spectacular in the speakers as a "mobile" not as a multimedia device. 4. easeness in operating it for it is touchscreen,no need to scroll(but uncomfortable in the speed) 5. radio reception is spectacular as a "mobile" 6. fine pixeled 640 x 320 screen display making it nice to browse the internet and to view images or documents.(but it's not vivid a compared to SE phones) --- SUggestions to the manufacturer ---- 1. improve the speed 2. create a software or an option to rotate the display and place a very large keyboard in the screen so i could use it as a one handed phone without the stylus. coz it's too difficult to text in a moving vehicle with the stylus,i might end up having a destroyed LCD with holes in a rocky track. 3. have a close key for the applications that is not necessarily to be pressed for five seconds. 4. and i guess this one is the most important--- bring back to the market the series 90 category so that series 90 third party software makers would also coninue to make applications. remember 7710 is the first and the last commercially available phone of the series 90. the other was the 7700 which is not commercially available. thats all!!!

I have noticed that the option to set as background image is available on firmware V4.10 but in V4.01 not having this option why so plz anybody tell me how to set background image on V4.01 . The camera resolution of both versions are same (1280 * 960) but in previous version the resolution of camera is (1152 * 864) why these difference are in these firmware Versions. please ifanybody have knowlegde about this plz help me. the worst thing bout nokia 7710 is that you have to hold it by width not length and you canot rotate the screen to read on the longer side you can read only on the shorter side

@ Sankalp You can use AD-15 adapter, it works perfectly fine with my 7710. However, I am thinking if HS-20,AD-41 can work with 7710, it is the same adapter supplied with 3250, and it comes with a remote for playing mp3.

hey dude..proboard is dead...even i loved that place..it had a lot of ausum stuff der....feel lost without it..for all you guys who dont know...please upgrade to the firmware 4.10 coz the camera gets upgraded to 1.23 mp. and the video recording does get a lot smoother..along with that it closes apps if we press the bottom most key on the right side for 5 secs around...and i would advice all you guys to load core media player tmpgc dats the video player for your phone it playes vids with ausum smoothness and brilliant quality..trust me..25 fps is wot its supports...use xilisoft to convt.. 320*140..with 25 fps and bitrate 300 or plus...and audio 32bit and 24000sample rate..and use profile "xvid movie"...install that codec on the pc..and i am telling u guys u gona make the whole world "J"..coz the video quality beats p910 hollow...or any series 60 phone..well i felt like contributing this and leting alll 7710 users know about it

hi, i want to say that i just bought this phone used off ebay and i love it. if you live in the us sadly you can not get the firmware updated because it hasn't been released here yet. however, i don't think the processor is as slow as some people make it out to be. for a pda/smartphone it is reasonable especially for nokia's first attempt. if you're looking for something different then this is a definite must. otherwise go for the ericsson pdas.

This fone is cool becos of the touchscreen feature and its widescreen.. But why be using it when the 3rd part softwares isn't much available? For most of the time u be using the installed apps that is already avalable in the phone. That will lead to boredom in using the fone after sometime.. The Sony P900/910i is a superb symbian touchscreen fone where many uiq software can be installed to it.. Nokia created symbian right? GPRS/EDGE is top class.P910 has only Class 8(No EDGE) Zoom=crop so it doesnt matter if its 2x or 4x.The quality is reduced due to zooming. Images can be edited to a large extent. Sound quality is good.Very good through headphones.(Ofcoure you cant compare with the SE walkman series, they are meant to have good sound they are WALKMANS) Good internal memory (90mb)& contact book than p910 Touchscreen is very responsive. Little software?Check yahoo groups/mysymbian & you'll get as much as you want.Since s90 is a new platform the softwares may take time in creation New firmware has made it faster and upgraded many of the functions.P910 has v1.1 bluetooth.N7710 has v1.2 Price dropped to Rs.18K(INR)so it has become even more affordable. Im not saying its the best.But it isnt as bad as you make it out to be.

Got this phone a month back. It seems to have improved a lot. It does'nt hang at all and works faster then ever before, thanks to Nokia's improved firmware versions. I was very confused whether to go for an O2 or an Imate but i bought this one, am glad i made a gud choice. I fancy a couple of things like in a phone, like, 1.Widescreen: Watching movies in fullscreen mode is a big show off. With available softwares like Smartmovie and ImTOO MPEG you can convert just anything for ur personal viewing on this phone. It's touchscreen interface is gud n well responsive and can be easily protected with the available scratch guards. 2.The looks of this phone are fabulous. Some find it very big. But holding it in hands in its leather pouch or using it in the public makes a very stylish statement. 3.Business features are as cool as the phone. My important files are always with me. And with Mobicreator you can convert anything on ur pc into an Ebook and carry it anywhere with u. 4.The 1 megapixel camera of this phone is better then a 1.3 MP as compared to other phones. I've used N3230 n N6630 proir to this one and that's how i know the difference. The camera in this phone does'nt have any night mode n i think that it is not even required. It takes beautiful pictures during the night time as well. And the Video quality is as gud as compared to other 1.3 MP camera phones. 5.Its speaker is as gud as it's camera. Loud and full of clarity. Comparing them with bose is a bit too much but they r really gud. You can play MP3s or set them as ringing tone and wow! Surfing internet or watching ur pictures or videos on this phone will give u the feel of a computer. It can support a memory card of upto 1GB but do not install more than 250 MB coz your phone will start working slow. Also do not install the anti-virus provided with this phone or u'll see a big difference in it's speed. Your phone will remain safe even otherwise. The only problem i face with this phone is to make or receive phone calls. You have to use both the hands to do that but again when people notice you, it makes a cool impression. Finally, don't go by wat people have to say, i did the same thing and am satisfied. Every phone has it's pros cons. It's all abt making the right choice.

Ok, i won't go into details of why " Don't buy the Nokia 7710". 1st, its the slowest smart phone that ever released by the Nokia company. 2nd, if you are too impressed of its shape and the functionalities that it has ( which it really has some good functions which are absent among other smart phones with more than 1 MP camera ), i suggest you take off any ideas of buying this "Nokia 7710". I really sucked at buying it, i didnt know its slow as turtle, damn! i should've rethink of it before buying it. Anyway, it was an awaful, depressing, disappointing experience that i ever had from buying this product. It lagged ( hanged ) twice since using it from the 1st hour ( can you believe it?!! ) you should really believe it before you go through this adventurous and horrible experience. Check out ( especially its operating speed, its RAM is too slow, about 180 or something like that as i remember ) the phone in the shop before you buy it then you would know whether i was right or exaggerating of disclosing its disadvantages of this smart phone. Ok i advise you ppl to buy any other new versioned smart phone other than this scary one. The good thing about it, is the picture quality, which is better than 1.3 MP camera resolution & the presense of FM-radio & a cool touch pen.

Had this phone since it came out in the UK and heres my oppinions. The Good & the Bad. Seems alot of people get told alot of bull before they judge for themselves, personally, its best to look around the net first and see whats available first before buying a phone and not knowing what it does or what you can get for it. 1. Wide screen is amazing (always a good thing when you can ACTUALY!!! SEE pictures and video) 2. The internet facility is the best, all sites are viewed in decent time and the same as the interent on a pc. (apart from huge web pages) 3. The business features are good, such as using pdf files and word documents. (changes them a little on the phone by its own conversion software) You can also draw on the screen or onto images or docs etc. Also you have screen capture, a few progs are available. 4. Ive never had a problem yet (except the slow time people talk about, but even though im busy, i have that extra couple of seconds to wait in life, im sure its the same people who wait in front of a microwave oven asking it to hurry up LOL) 5. The expandable memory is huge and cheap, i have 1gb cards and a 2gb card, you can get them real cheap on ebay, just search. 6. The mp3 player is real good and I got an adapter cable from hong kong for a few pounds, allowing any headphones to work with the phone. (I hate all the in ear types that you get for the phone) 7. The video playback is awesome if you use smart movie or dvd player to convert any video on your pc, no matter how large it is, also you can crop them or make them full widescreen, i do it all the time, everything on my phone is .avi's. 8. Was hard to get games at first but if you download picodrive your sorted, i have about 1,000 games for this phone, most of them decent sega megadrive games (but I dont play many games on it, just good to have i guess) 9. Tom Tom Navigator, excellent, I have most of europe on card and can go anywhere and still only use my phone for everything. (instead of having mp3 player/ phone / camera / video cam / gps system) Oh and you can download gmapviewer for it and just go online and view google maps real quick. 10. If your into IM progs like yahoo or msn etc, then that works great too. You can get a prog which sigcns on to AOL, Yahoo & ICQ all at the same time, chatting is at an ok speed too. Also there is msn standalone and a few others like quickim for basic functions. 11. I love a phone this size, never lose it, (left smaller nokia 6230 in pocket and my woman washed my trousers with phone and ruined it, insurance doesnt cover water damage DOH!) always know its there, fits in hand natural, peoples deffinition of heavy is alittle vague, remember cd players, they were 5 times the weight of this phone but nobody complained, im an average guy and it seems light enough to me. Thats about it, you can get so many programmes for the phone its almost rediculous, I had loads of friends who had the 6230 and nothing on it, while i had tons, now with this phone its the same, everyone seems to be complaining about all the brands they have, me, i got no probs with mine "touch wood". If you want any help just gimme a shout at my mail and I can point you in the right directions. Cheers Stuart Oh and when the live tv is available, will probably not get it cos of the outrageous cost it will be to run it, not nokias fault, but the streamer people will want to make their money, so will stick to converting and putting my own tv on there.

i own a nokia 7710.i have to some important things to tell for those who want to buy it.like every phone it has some pros and cons. its plus points are---- 1.its inbuilt speaker is great.no other phone has got such a great speaker. 2.you get all the pda functions at a low price(genarally pda phones are expensive) 3.it has a wide screen. its minus points are---- 1.it is a damn slow phone. 2.camera is ok but video recording is worse. 3.it doesn't has a keypad. 4.if you are a mobile game freak never buy this phone as there are few games available. 5.not much softwares available. if you agree with me please reply. thnx.

nokia 7710 is great very nice transfering the datas, music,it supported also the mp3 ringtones. u just have to try and look for it in ur phone.... also the date and time can be seen in the toolbar... ok enjoy!!

I got this phone just about a month back.I went by the looks of the phone primarily and for its unconventional appeal.However, looks are decieving.The software provided is not refined. It occassionally hangs up.It is quite embarssing at times while an important call is underway and the phone hangs up.the display is very good.utilities provided in the xtra section are not cumbersome and easy to manipulate.there is a problem with the stylus. it does not correspond with the icon on which it is directed.the sound is good.mp3 player is cool with limited option to store ample songs.will get back in case stumble upon something else.

I've been using this phone since April 2005, its a good phone(although its quite bulky)especially the ''cut and paste'' function..but too bad..this phone doesnt have night mode and the camera cannot zoom more than 2 times..its a waste..but what to do.. sigh..

Experienced the worst 2 weeks in my life- changed 5 phones (all 7710) for that time-thankfully the guys from Vodafone UK was calm and keep sending me a new units. 2 of them had mind of their own- working when they want,switching off when they want..swiching on when they want,changing time,contacts,ext...! 3-th -speaker problem-no1 can hear me when calling! 4-th - some hidious noise was coming out of the unit- frustraiting!!! Now i am with my fifth phone from the same model and i will not give it up for any other. 1 other thing- my first 2 units start going wrong after i gave them to the service centre for upgraiding the FW.

@ misguidedpacifist To check your firmware version,go to the telephone dialler screen,and tap *#0000#,this will show you the firmware version and the date as well... And to upgrade the firmware,you will hv to go to the Nokia care center,coz there is no other way out like downloading some file from the internet or ne other method..If you want to upgrade the firmware you'll hv to go to the Nokia care center.. Hey, Mathew: Battery works JUST GREAT - depending on what you have to do. I used mine even for a whole week (getting just a few call, though). I did experience some nasty stuff with n7710 when meddleing with profiles. Got on the plane, switched to airplane mode, got off, switched back - and WHAM - the sounds were off!!! Shutdown - battery out - back in - worked again. I think the little devil has personality. I wouldn't trade it for nothing, especially since I've almost never see one on machos and/or yuppies. The only drawback is the relatively poor e-mail client, and unfortunately there is now alternative out there, except one called profi-mail which behaved somehow hieratically on my mobe. Btw - does anybody know how to check on and then if necessary upgrade the firmware? Thanks, alex

This fone always blacks out. when ı swıtch ıt on, ıt shows the NOKIA name for a few seconds and then swıtches off. ıt happened before and ı sent ıt back to nokıa bcos ı have a guarantee, and they apparantely fıxed ıt. but the same thıng happened. ıts so annoyıng, especıally bcos ım overseas rıght now and ı need a mobıle phone urgently!!! ıve read other posts and the same thıng tends to happen wıth ppl that have thıs fone or other touchscreens n pdas... ım gonna change my fone lol touchscreens are good and all but thıs fone just konks out all the tıme. nokıa dısappoınted me.

Its true, I bought this phone for my stand by number, i never use this phone alot, but the sounds is very quite, i always use speaker mode for hearing the voices,and its VERY SLOW because 7710 doesnt have Closed Program,the 6 program will be running at the same time, Awful, i just using 2 months and at the moment i have to send to Nokia Center in Thailand, coz its always ON/OFF, very Bad.Poor Me

Guys,i need your help. When i apply the "Silent" profile,my phone doesn't vibrate when i receive any new msg(SMS,MMS). Y is it so?? Although it vibrates when someone calls me. The "Vibrating Alert" checkbox is checked in the "Silent" profile menu. But still,it only vibrates when someone calls,it doesn't vibrate when i receive a msg. The Sony Ericsson P Series is way better than this fone.. Sori guyz.. i own both fones and i really have to admit i find this fone to be very inconvenient due to the horizontal design (what is Nokia thinking anyway). And the boring thing is u just cant find many apps for this fone unlike the SE p900/p910/p800 fones that have loads! I hope nokia would create a better touchscreen fone in the near future.. Music: Leave the ipod at home. I use my 7710 with a 1gb MMC card. 1 Battery gets you from LA to NYC and then some. Battery: Get a 2nd one. Video: Just won't play well at all. Even with Smartmovie. Yes, you can use the phone for Internet browsing/download as a modem via the USB Cable ... make sure you download the latest Nokia PC Suite and ensure you have Service Pack 2 for XP you wont have any problems at all ...been using it for almost 4 months ...no problmems at all .. not a gamer but communication is a breeze ... Well i've used dis fone for over more than 4 mnths now...n lemme tell u sum of my personal experiences wid it:- Pros: Display:- Undisputedly the best and biggest in its class Sound:- Gr8 stereo sound quality speaker + awesum headfone clarity Features:- Loads of 'em...i bet u wont get bored of 'em soon... Design:- Though not to the taste of many...but made me feel rich the day i bot it.. Camera:- The megapixel does its job quite well(during day) Network:- It has never let m down on dis front Cons:- Size:- Its a huge gadget to b called a fone..hardly fits into ur pocket..headache to carry it in a denim trouser Firmware:- Too slow as compared to other symbians...hangs wen roughly used(though installing switcher helps a lot)...touch screen response not one of the best No flash :- The absence of a flash makes it a nightmare to shoot in dark... Calls:-Attending calls is a headache coz of its size Both hands:- Cant b used wid one hand...always hav to use it like a playstation but if u can overlook the cons....its a hell of a buy... my ranking: 7.5 outta 10

NO Software SHOUT OUTS, go google or something. The output, is Stereo and out of 10 would be 8.9 the screen is very sensitive, all the touchscreens are sensitive, what else do you want? Slow, depending on what you do, cant really determine, you would need to own one for yourself. Stereo is well equipped, dont know about others opinion. Camera, is excellent, but when the light gets decreased Night mode turns on, so thats why its blurry. 4.5 is the newest, but mostly all the news ones are still in progress, so get the one previous the new one. Bugs, bugs are all around, for example, Viruses that attacks Windows, there is no such thing as Viruses, viruses are already in the computer itself, so bugs can never be removed but fixed. The sound volume is pretty loud. rocky. how do you know that there are somethings wrong with it if you dont even have the phone? I have 4.01 and the swticher still works. 4.01 vs. 4.5 Basically just faster in Multimedia use. Get It?

Well P900 man, When it comes to P900, I find only a jogdial as the only advantage...therez nothing more I see! Coz when compared, the 7710 is outstanding in terms of features! In P910, the only addition is a QWERTY keyboard. We have all that and more on 7710 (though its a S/W-based!)

As far as Nokia 7710 Compatibilty is concerned with the 2GB MMC i have read many opinions that once the firmware is v.4.0.1 above it is compartible and Latest nokia firmware is v.4.10.0 confirmed by NOKIA This is the email from a person using nokia 7710 OKay guy lets get this compatibilty thingy stright now " This device(nokia7710), once upgraded to 3.26, and higher, will support 1GB MMC, upgrade to 4.01, will support 2GB MMC." (from gsmArena.com) okay i've tested this out myself and can confirm this with version 3.26 being caped at 986mb of 1890mbs and 4.10 able to use 1890 of 1890mb tested with A-DATA Turbo 2GB MultiMedia (MMCplus) Card Plus Model Turbo MMC 200X 2GB oh by the way i fitted 1453 mp3s in my 7710 hahaha Format: mp3 Rates: 128kbit @44khz Avg size per file: 1.3mb...... 26 full length movies format: divx Res: 320x160 Rates: 196kbps 44hz Avg size per file: 72mb runs great!!! ============================================= Guys any new update regarding the NOkia 7710 ccompatiblity please post your opinions and there is a 4gb card as well MMC please check for that also. i think N7710 is a great fone,it successes the 7700 which i also like very much.i've noticed that ppl hate these fones i dont know why though,i know most of them are just angry that they cannot afford such great fones and i'm pretty sure that they have not ever seen these fones up close.and to those asian guys always criticizing these fones and praising fones made in asia,i think they are just a bunch of blockheads,who can't even type sentences correctly,my advice to you guys is to first of all,learn a little english because it says ENGLISH ONLY,and why don't you visit sites that have strictly asian fones huh?it really gets me mad.i would really appreciate if someone could mail me the prices of Nokia 7700 and 7710,and also,the sony ericsson W900,....thanks...........

What features & bugs are they(can u list them/give us a link ?) ? This should help us decide between 4.01 and 4.5 2) is there any firmware version called 4.10? guess i read it somewhere(Dont remember the link). Please do correct me, if i am wrong about the info. And if it exists, how good is it when compared to 4.01 and 4.5? wish there were a detail about all 3 of them in some website. The reason why i ask all this is, to be careful with the firmware selection. Obviously, desire the best...dont we? Hope the night-mode works well! Any idea about it?If it does give gud results, bet its a gud camcorder too! Thanks once again!

If you want to have movies playing back on your 7710, get a supported MMC. The nightmode is automatic, and dont need to be upgraded to 1.3Mp to see it happen. 4.01 and 4.5, the 4.5 is the major eastern release and fixes common problems, but so does the 4.01, 4.5 has advanced features but has many bugs as well. This device, once upgraded to 3.26, and higher, will support 1GB MMC, upgrade to 4.01, will support 2GB MMC. Emergency calls, just like how you would call on your regular cell phone. *#7370# is NOT made for 7710, its made for S60 Symbian, to restore factory state or format memory 1. Turn of the phone, take out battery for 2-3mins. 2. Put battery back, and turn on and once you see "Nokia" press and hold the Menu Key and the Home Key (the two keys on the left side bottom) 3. Shorty after that press and hold the middle button of the right side of the phone (second key from the top on the right side on the phone) Any other questions feel free to jot them down here.

Yes, it is true, only to 1.23 Mp only, but you will need to upgrade to the newest firmware available, and only this way will unlock the 1.23 MP, On the 7710 protoype the phone was designed to support 1.3MP, but since the production unit came with I believe v2.26, it wasnt able to process 1.3MP. got 4.0.1 firmware upgraded few weeks back - phone looks a little faster, better and firmware uprade worth compared to my previous firmware. problem - first time I have had problems with Voicemail notification Icon. Even if new voicemails are there in the voicemail box, I do not see the icons. Strange! tried restarting - no luck. reformatted - same problem. but other phones do display the icon - so problem has tobe in 7710. Today again formatted and it was back to "little" normal - icon is discplayed in the screen saver - but not in the main screen, and after I finshed deleting the voicemails, icon was gone. But next, when a new voice mail was present the icon did come in the main screen but stayed off even after deleting the voicemails!!! Any help here?

Hiya 7710 users, 1) 7710 claims tat v can use it as a camcorder.But I wonder how is it gonna perform when u take up a pic/video in the nite...! any users to describe on this one? 2) Yet another doubt is tat, how is the performance difference gonna change if i put in 1 GB in it. Coz some applications work on static memory and some on the shared memory (Correct me if I am wrong!).Well, does the 1 GB matter in these cases? 3) I understand we can have a wider view coz of the screen size. But does it reach up to the standards of N70 (for example!) in terms of pixels and the like? I wonder about the clarity of images/audio in the case of pic/video! Thanx for the time. Hi Well Any company that makes a firmware like Nokia has made 4.0.1 and 4.50 well 4.50 is the latest and it has to be better than 4.0.1 as it the latest firmware so i would suggest that 4.0.1 is also good there are very minor changes between 4.50 and 4.0.1 so u can go for 4.0.1 Peace Raghu

Hi Nokia, I have been a bit time crazy for touchscreen phones & I have allmost used all of them, but after using Nokia 7710 I fell like yes i have something which is the best. But there is onething if u can work on 7710 hangup at times & the processing of the phone is a bit slow for example:while opening a folder for image or opening the folder of sound clips, it takes a lots of time which should not be there,if there is a solution for this it will be great. Ijust downloaded that thing and that is not a good GPS thing i thougth i might be real nice as its not FREE. it has 14 days FREE key and after that you have to buy it so i dont recommend anyone to downlaod and isntall that thing in their 7710, it would be just a waste of space

Ramana, thanks for your suggestion but no matter how contacts are sorted, it takes 5-6 seconds to open a message, with the messages and contacts programs already running. This seems to me really too much. THis phone should have enough power to manage this way quicker. Adams

Adams, The moment the SMS is received it parses and displays the Name of the sender in the alert! Not sure why it would parse wile opening it... One thing you can try out is to sort the contacts in First Name, Last name order. Hope this helps. Thanks
