Nokia 8600 Luna - User Reviews

  • I have the same.problem... do you know how to fix it?

  • Very expensive, were a lot of fakes on ebay so look out for that...

  • you can find in amazon brand new

  • WTB: Where can i get brand new Nokia Luna 8600 in Malaysia ?

  • amidst all the "smart" phone rage nowadays this phone really makes you standout among the crowd especially in a bar. Good piece and value for money after so many years, 2013 and I still love my Luna. Although, it is quite inconvenient with more and more web content especially e-mail's having "secured" connection which Luna cannot support and Luna isn't actually baby friendly, already got 3 cracks on the top. Oh well, phones aren't for babies to play with anyway but my kid just loves to watch the keypad lighting up.

  • i used ths set since last 3 months its a good phone & its increase ur personality -:)

  • nokia phone is very standed and good product.

  • nokia phone is very standed and good product.

  • flash it.

  • hello every1, i have a nokia luna but assoon as i turn it on it asks for a security code, hw do i fix this and get it work?

  • hi stefan, thank you for the info.

  • I don't know how much is this phone worth in your country, but in my country you can get one with 60 if you know some phone dealers!.....Things have changed, luna and sirocco are worth now only a small fraction of the price they had when they were launched!......

  • i have nokia 8600 luna, its great and awesome phone, till now i enjoying to use this. if i sell this phone how much do you think?

  • this cellphone is awesome.... i love it like anything.

  • While having an MP3 player, it lacks any way of memory extension. It's a bad practice, since many songs encoded in MP3 have now a size nearly ~10MBs due to the length.

  • i just love this phone

  • i'm verry keen on this phone. his style and his resistance are source of joy.i recommand yo everebody.

  • its too bad it has no card slot

  • its look is very good

  • because when it's fall from the second floor, no thing happen to it, it's really fall from me alot. and still working so great, so if you are alittle careless, it's the best phone for you

  • The 8600 luna is an ofshoot of the 8800 series. Those phones are targeting a relativly small niche of users who aren't interested in having a feature phone. The high price makes luna, sirocco, arte pretty exclusive phones that can't be afforded by enyone(or at least used to be when they were launched). Most people who buy these kind of phones want to have a handset that just looks great and they want to have a relativly exclusive phone. Many wealthy people want to have exclusive things that are out of the reach of ordinary people. This is an idea that starts with the Luna and reaches it's maximum hights with Vertu. Money and exclusivity...go hand in hand...

  • Guys, one question! Why is this phone still expensive? I mean, it must have something special!???

  • I own a Nokia 8600 Luna has spoken on it flawlessly 12 hours is a good phone and nice strong ami sincere even make money like insurance which is ok only thing is you battery in just two days rest is ok ...

  • Boss I hve Luna.....Its very nice set......but 1 thing iz not good! that is Memory...otherwise this is awosom set........... my # iz 0334-9596424.....0301-5100735............

  • Got a 8600 luna...it's a beautiful phone but not as beautiful as my sirocco or sapphire...some friends of mine who work in a gsm service told me that this phone is more likely to brake down than some other phones of the 8800 series.....hope i won't have problemes with it...

  • If you cant re-install the software via nokia software updater, then bring it to a mobile repair shop and tell them to flash the phone with the newest software, mine could not be updated with the program becasue it rebooted to quick and wouldnt get in the menu screen, took it to a phone repair guy and he flashed it for $60 took him 20 mins and i havnt had a problem. These phone are mint

  • bought another phone:((((((((((((((( XPERIA MINI,but i dont like it at all.....want my Luna back:((((((

  • got da same prob. does any 1 know from where i can download da software again....???

  • Did u fix it some how or just bought another phone?

  • I have the same problem............ When i turn it on it goes to a white screen then after a while it goes to my wallpaper without menu buttons. It usually turns on when it goes to the wallpaper screen but now it resets and goes back to the white. SOMEONE HELP i love this phone

  • Hey guys My phone wont turn on anymore It goes to a white screen and then resets all the time. Seems to be something with the internal memory which wont load. Is it possible to re-install the software and could an one recommend a way?

  • Alright so the luna now takes ages to start up. Getting worse now. When i turn it on it goes to a white screen then after a while it goes to my wallpaper without menu buttons. It usually turns on when it goes to the wallpaper screen but now it resets and goes back to the white. SOMEONE HELP i love this phone

  • I own one of these and its been perfect for the last 18 months, everything I wanted from a phone. However like Solid Snake's phone the charger connection has worked its way loose and now wont charge. The phones a few years old now though so i`m not too bothered and Id definitley buy another.

  • Indeed ! a luxury to behold !! got it for 500 pounds. I still love it, I need to get a new casing for it though and the carrier as well. Anyone with useful info should get in touch. ty !

  • This phone is actually a three g unlike what your post says. I have tried it and it worked for me.

  • this phone is absolutly brilliant it lasted me a whole busy long day on its last bar and it was also indicating to me it was dying i received phone calls, texts and played a game also! absolutely amazing :)

  • Yes ! I have had this luxury for as long as it s been out very good if u ask me but pictures r terrible.

  • hi people! I am from macedonia and i want to buy this phone, but i am still unsure buying it online because of the fake chinese version. How much is the original version of the phone and how much is the fake? Maybe that can help me or mby som1 link me a good e-shop to order. thankyou in advance.

  • hi arun see just go to HASH10 mobil service center . u can find the shop in every area in chennai city there you can diffnetly get repaired your uncle phone so do it as quick as posible .

  • Hi, newest version for this mobile? my only has 3rd...

  • What do you mean a desktop charger, the phone charges with a Original NOkia USB data cable and Nokia has a charger for this with the 3 pin.

  • No desk charger for this model.

  • Great phone, Looks the best Anyone know if you can get a desk top charger for this phone? I know the carbon arte has one i wish the luna had one as well

  • beautiful phone... =)

  • yeah its a good one.. but lahore lahore ayyyy

  • Hi Friends, My uncle was using this phone for an year and the MIC of this phone is not working.I went to Nokia centre in Chennai, but they told me that they dont have the spare as the phone is outdated.can anyone help me out to repair it. Regards Arun 91-80561-02363

  • never mind lol. i just read your last post & came to know you're from toronto as well. but, where did you get yours from though? i tried to get it from those dealers that get it shipped for you from US. but they said they're out of stock! :S

  • thanks a lot for the reply mate! :) really appreciate it! where are you from & how much did you buy it for if you don't mind me asking? oh & btw, SolidSnake is my online name on MGO! :D lol quite a coincidence.

  • Hey! I have had this phone before too and seriously this is one of the best ones I have ever owned. This is the reason why I ditched my new lg crystal and got this again because I really didn't need all those unlimited number of features on that phone. I only had one problem with this phone and that is why I sold it last year. Something went wrong with the charger slot and it would not charge my phone at all. I take care of my phones a lot and it was unfortunate that this happened. Make sure when you plug your charger in, do it gently. Overall, honestly this is definitely one of the best ones I have ever owned (i still have a n97 but i prefer to use this). Good luck :)

  • oops! forgot to put my name in.

  • thnx JOELPOGI & SOLIDSNAKE for replying to my post! :D i'll probably get mine this week or so...online shopping is just not my thing, had a few bad experience so going to ask my friend to get it shipped from US for me. please, let me know of any problematic features that i should be aware of. i know it's not the most high-tech phone out there right now but whatever it is i just want to know if everything works well. thanks in advance. take care mates.

  • Can you please also tell me about speaker quality, is it relly low, like on sirocco and 8800 where you practically can't hear the person you're talking to? TY

  • can you please tell me what should come up when I enter *#0000# on the original Luna, and if there are some things I should watch out for on the phone's general outside appereance or box-content? thank you!

  • i got my luna $200 (US) last year i don't know how much it cost now

  • Im from toronto as well and I am picking one up for $380 CAD. Make sure its not a fake china version because there are a lot of scammers out there who are trying to sell the fake one. Google is your friend to learn more about the fake version of this phone.

  • how much is ths phone worth now? please let me know in US$...coz i live in toronto n im thinking of getting it shipped from US. please let me know how much it costs with no plans & unlocked. thanks in advance.

  • Dear All, Ths will be the few times coment from me. I have no other phone to replace, its such an excellent phone that no one can beat you.... Maybe Most people have a lots more expensive phone than this but one thing for sure that they cant beat the elegant that come out from Luna. Well Done Nokia... Please Create another Luna for us... Thank you, Mix

  • hey man ya probably know by now , but the Luna is made in Germany and the battery is the only part that comes from china. i live in ireland and have the luna with 2 years and have to say have had no major problems with it the battery can act up on it and give a short life time. best thing to do is flattent he battery completely before charging it cause it has a memory and that can cut the life span of it.

  • Hello. You have to first set-up your network. It is done in the Configuration settings. It took me a few days to find the correct one.

  • Everyone out the I saw a few comments bout kids can't have this maybe u r right but not always I have this Luna and (I am 10 going to be 11) but that is not the POINT..... I don't listen to music on this phone or play games 24/7 I use it for fun enjoymeant show off a little text and call THATS IT I don't need 1gig or more on this phone or 5mp camera and all that bullshit u all keep complaining like kids and I own a Luna it just came back from serviceing my little sister threw and it hit that wood very hard so the keypad got loose that's it......... So don't keep wining bout this Magnisifint Piece Of Art The Luna ok?????? I got this phone cuz I loved it the day I heared bout this phone and please I am not talking hell ok???? I was missing this phone so much when it went I did not eat I love thins phone like a child and not treat it the way everyone else does maybe it does not have the GOOD nokia n95 has I call that a piece of junk I feel if I cud just throw it in the junkyard I have changed slot of phones I love the Luna I am getting the iPhone in a while but I WIIL NOT sell my Luna EVER not even in a 100 years I love Luna it is like a dream cum true!!!!! • most of the comments in this phone is high prize...are you sure about it?i have this for more than a year now & just a typical phone but the best thing about it is i never met anyone until now with the same phone as mine...& i only got this phone $200...is that expensive?well...for most people i guess...

  • This phone is an eye catcher. I bought mine used, but awesome phone. Not a smartphone phone, but great reception and good functions built-in. I have the Xperia X1i as well, this is more for luxury and no one in my area has ever seen it. Not as heavy as the specs state, and much better looking in your hand than most phones.

  • this phone is the bbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeessssssttttttttttt i love it

  • this phone is infact fantastic thouhh it has no single feature buti still prefer it

  • Jus luv this phone..Regret sellin mine though..D best battery in d 8 series of nokia.. Really stylish..A total eyecatcher and a decent performer 2..I change my phones every month..But iv never been able 2 get over this phone..

  • this is by far the worst phone by nokia. 1st of all it has no features for its price. second it is highly unreliable. i have a friend who has had three of these in a year and they have all become useless. all of them suffer from hardware problems and are definitely not worth even half the money. do not buy this phone because it both reliable and technologically advanced as a brick. better off with an n series

  • Hello, I got this beautiful phone for one year. Problem is, the battery easily run out. Everytime I use it for a call, the battery always get low immediately. I suspect it's because of the 900mah battery used for Luna (E71 for example 1.500mah). So right now, I only use my Luna for SMS only. Do anyone have the same problem???

  • The real nokia 8600 luna made in Germany(eu version) in usa is made in korea i think. the other one, made in finland is fake one.. china takes the some parts of that phone and sell it back.

  • i just bought this 4ne and love it to bits.i does every thing i need with easy, and it got so much style.just dont listen to musiq or play games on it.its not ment for that.i got a PS for games and ipod for musiq.just 1grip though.how do u you change the settings,so that when u close it, it automatically closes all applications and locks the key pad.

PLEASE help... thankss

  • u cannot fast forword da video n there is no batri life! just a gud loookin phone!

  • This has been my phone ever since it was introduced got it b4 it was launched officially from Orange uk. it s heavy and nice for people like me I prefer it to the 8800 series and i actually dumped N95 for it. Kudos to NOKIA 'I love 8600 luna' thank you.

  • Hey, I have the luna and love it. Probably one of my favourite phones till now and trust me, there's been a lot of them. I have this one problem where once in a while, when i either record or talk on the phone, my voice sounds robotic. There must be an issue with the mic but as soon as i stop and start again or hang up and call back it's fine. Does anyone else have this problem? What should i do? Thanks

  • hey guys! is there a way the for operator logo in the nokia 8600 be removed? thanks!

  • Who wants to listen to the music or store low quality in a luxury phone? People always look for something to complain about!! Why not to mention the positive side?!!

  • i've had this phone for 3 months it is one of the best mobile i've had so far. the battery life is excellent it lasts me a week before i have to charge it. the phone could have more memory and applications.

  • I love my phone but i need a new Housing can anyone share this info.

  • great phone but.... my second one, a replacement from nokia, just died by itself... again.

  • themes can be found from zedge.net

  • Nokia has forgotten 1000$ cell without update for over two years. Fonts are too small same as 6233 only style no hardware or sofware upgrades. Re sale 200 on request, n future i promise never to buy 88 series.

  • type nokia 8600 phone themes into google

  • Hi Where can you get free themes for the luna? I cant find any sites that have them. Regards Adrian

  • i have the same prob... my luna juz switched off without any warning even the batt is full... what is the prob really? anybody have the same experience?

  • no its probably a software problem

  • Pro: Beautiful display, very satisfying open/close mechanism, the pulsing keypad through the smoked glass case is a great conversation piece, can store very long names/surnames in your phone book, highly customizable themes are readily available online for free, data transfer is easy and fast via bluetooth. compatible with mac and even linux, very unique phone overall with a beautiful design, Con: No memory expansion card slot, the keys can be cramped and small for larger fingers, glass is NOT scratch proof although very resistant, glass is also susceptible to breakage, the paint on the back stainless steel case fades with regular usage as well as the black glossy paint parallel to the chrome line on the sides of the key pad (when open). not the best battery life. I've had this phone for almost 10 months and it has never shut off on me, I have scratched the display once and spilled vodka on it twice immediately wiping it dry on my shirt afterward. it continues to work perfectly and signal strength is great. i rarely see other people with it although i live in a big city (chicago). i think i have seen it 3 times. i bought it for 500 usd and its worth every penny to own this unique, beautiful, rare and classy piece. i heard rumors that the 8000 series of nokia will be discontinued. all i have to say is NOOOOO! nokia please keep the 8xxx series coming.

  • I have the same problem many times even after my 2nd replacement. I think it's the phone. My first one died without any warning at all and Nokia couldn't fix it. Other than that, I think LUNA is a great NORMAL phone.

  • i have heard that the software isnt great. the phone freezes without warnings and its not worth the money...confused???? mixed reviews...should it be recomended??

  • hi, every one! i agree with many of you that this is a great phone. however i also have a problem with the battery. it switches of itself without any warning regardless whether the battery is full or not.im sure wheter its just me or a general problem with this phone????

  • Hi I have same problem with my Nokia 8600 Luna it gets switched off without any warning.. :( even battery is fully charged. Do you think it is Battery problem?

  • I just got a new Luna a few days ago & it is absolutely beautiful. The slide mechanism is flawless & the glass feels great in your hand. I hope Nokia comes out with an updated version of the Luna like they have for the original 8800's. I like the form factor of the Luna much more than the Arte. I would love to see Nokia make a silver stainless steel version that has the specs of the Carbon Arte!!

  • How can you be reached??

  • do we have usb charge in this fone ????

  • i have the luna a month now and its a good phone nice and heavy which is always good but it doesnt hold a memory card which i dont like but it is still a cool phone its worth the money

  • Its firmware ver is outdated u cannot bear 6233 software Nokia must update it now, think the price u paid after sales updates r important, fonts and Medi should be updated at least 6300 version. Nokia forgets its high end customers its a balatant example

  • It's very good in design and appearance but I think that the software version used in this phone is a bit outdated as compared to Nokia 5300,7390 and 6300 phone which they are released in 2007. Nokia 8600 Luna phone also released in the same year as the other 3 phones as mentioned. It uses the software version that Nokia 6233 and 6280 phone is using. It's also a bit disappointing that the Music Player used in this phone is not the newer version used by Nokia 5300, 6300 and 7390 phone for example.

  • Had It For 9 Months Now... Great Design, Great Mechanism, Sounds Like Zippo Lighters But 8800s Have A More Delightful Sound When Closing And Opening Due To Their All Metal Construction. The Keypad Lights From Beneath The Glass Are Beautiful In The Cost Of Shortening The Battery Life. Very Very And Again Very POOR BATTERY LIFE (Common With 8 Series). Recharge It Only When The Phone Goes Dead And Dont Use It Until It's Fully Charged, A Little Problem For Fancy People Huh?! NOT BAD

  • Luna named in her honor, the goddess of moonlight, was often represented by the Romans as a mysteriously captivating beauty encircled in a soft, yet radiant light." Im Proud To have One.....

  • i believe everyone wanted this phone so badly.... no words could describe it, Luna Still The best among all yo..... Well Done Nokia ... Great Design .....

  • As Salam u Alaikum brothers and sisters. I have nokia luna since last year December 27, 2007. The phone is really good. If one believes in quality, style and look, one should go for it. I just have issue, I purchased the new nokia battery yesterday, but it takes 2.5 hours to charge completely. Is it fine?

  • excellent design of all..but the memory doensn deserve this fone..at least 1gb..and ay idea how can i clean the dust in side the glass covering the key pads..i need a help before i buy it next week.

  • Hi does anyone know if the hong kong version is much different to the american or uk version? Also is it worth doing a software update on this phone?

  • i'm interested.how much?

  • Put them up on Ebay then....

  • Luna is better then all 8800

  • because is in the same class as the 8800...luxury...and it's make all the money

  • Hey Just got the Luna 2 days ago aftethe Soricco went out of production- Does anyboy have na issue with the battery lasting????????????

  • spasma re neo

  • If anyone want this phone you should know that I have it and is at a very low price. You can contact me at mail above.

  • it's a beauty

  • why is luna so expensive

  • this is the BEST phone on earrth bro

  • the luna is a very good phone buy it for jusr rm 6700 very cheap

  • i think one of the bad set in the world......6600is much better than it....(6600 1st multimedia set)

  • It's a good phone! Dust doesn't get inside of the LCD like 8800Arte, The small plate behind the earpiece doesn't come off like 8800Arte and Carbon! The look might no be as good as 8800Arte and Carbon but it's good solid classy phone.

  • stop nagging it's good! and by the way, who pays that much for a phone that they're not sure is worth it?

  • i hate this phone, to heavy, to expensive... No options and the viberation doesn't work!!!!

  • hi guys i was just told i won the nokia 8600 luna is it good?

  • Just bought it over an add and the only good thing is the deisgn, the CAMERA SUCKS,my 1.3 samsung mobile cam was 2x better. But it looks better than on these pictures.

  • Madonna's mobile!

  • 8800 Sirocco and 8800 Arte are better then this

  • my luna is screwed dusnt work keeps turning off i h8 ittt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You need to go to "Settings" then "Themes" and change your themes. I'm pretty sure it's your theme color which makes it hard to see those options you mentioned.

  • sorry.i'd like to get an asnswer for one problem.. ..i just got one like this (8600 D luna) ..and i got a problem: my display in White.my shortcuts on the display are white too, and i can't see nothing ..like my picture on the desktop is the only thing i can see better.so: i'd like to know one thing ..PLZ: How can i modify the settings of the buttons on the display"..the ones from wich my shortcuts are active on the screen? ..can i modify theyr collor?..does somebody know? ..10x very much.

  • whell, SIROCCO is much better than LUNA. Luna has big problems with built quality, when slide is opened, the phone is limping. Desk charger, one more battery and bluetooth headset are including in box with Sirocco, LUNA has nothing. The glass on the keypad are very fragile.

  • Luna is better than sirocco models because of the display and looks. but sirocco is good in gold and black. the next good one is the sapphire models and carbon arte. sirocco are already a bit obsolete compared to Luna and sapphire arte.

  • id go luna over the sirocco, the luna's keypad flashes and it looks mad.

  • id go luna over the sirocco, the luna's keypad flashes and it looks mad.

  • so u wud definately go with the sirocco black? thats what i have unused just seeing if it would be worth swapping for luna or not

  • hands down sirocco black, i have both

  • 8600 without a doubt but the 8800 is only good in gold but there both every flashy soo u'll get bags of attention

  • Anyone here experiencing problems with regards to signal of luna?

  • This phone for fashion, its like old muscle car nothing new inside, but it is great to drive , same like phone, u feel what u have in your hand,it shows your personality...

  • why is so expensive? its beautiful, elegant no more. only 2 megapixels no 3g no simbyan a normal phone. i don,t know why this phone its 700 dolars?

  • Hey guys, just a question. On my luna, the display pulsing light doesn't come on anymore. I don't know why is this? Can anyone tell me what I can do to turn it back on. I already tried resetting it to the original factory setting, it didn't work. The key pad lights are still active when I open the phone...

  • Yes this phone is eye candy and is not loaded with a lot of features. That is the whole purpose of this phone. I bought this phone for my dad for several months now and no complaints. Maybe it's because he takes care of it the way everyone should be taking care of their stuff. No scratches on the back like other posters have because he keeps it in a case clipped to his belt and not swing it around for show or throw it in a purse where keys can scratch it. He doesn't have any problems with charging it either. I just think people need to take better care of their stuff and stop whining like little children. This is a pretty cool phone and it does have some nice features. The 2 mp camera isn't all that bad either. It is on the heavy side compared to others but it is built sturdy. My dad (and myself included) don't like to hold our phones completely against our face for fear of getting oils from our skin on our phone, lol. As for fingerprints, easily wiped of. Not that it is prone to it though.

  • why is so expensive? its beautiful, elegant no more. only 2 megapixels no 3g no simbyan a normal phone. i don,t know why this phone its 700 dolars?

  • one more thing, it is hard to type buttons on bottom, because of sliding cover, but if you have thin fingers, it will be ok , I think:)

  • yes you can set mp3 for the alarm, and this phone have media and music player:)

  • hey guys, quick question, please help me. i wish to buy a phone and i want it to have mp3 tone for the alarm. how can i find out which phones have it? is there a rule i can follow? like if the phone has mp3 player or mp3 ringing tones, it has to have selectable mp3 tones for the alarm? or do i have to buy the phone to find out :D .thanks

  • This memory card is only available for asian version. european version has no slot and is made in germany. the asian is produced in korea and has got a slot...

  • I've had the Luna for exactly a year now, and it's time to replace it. I bought it because of the Nokia 8000 series' legendary build quality. When I got my hands on the phone, I was quite pleased. It felt solid and weighty, and I knew it would last a while. However, the initial impression of quality starts to fade. The stainless steel back is a scratch magnet, and aluminum strip that runs along the side of the phone begins to peal after a while. Several of my friends have had the original 8800 or the Scirocco, and their phones still look like they came fresh out of the box. In addition, the phone tends to heat up (though not so much that you can't use it) when used for extended periods of time. As any other phone, I don't think it's that bad. I thought it compared rather nicely to my previous W850i. As a Nokia 8000 series...it's quite a bit of a let down. The phone isn't as robust as it should be, which makes it hard to justify the price. Of course, it's not all bad. It's got a simple, intuitive interface, the camera's allright, and the slick style (and glowing numbers) never fail to turn heads. Of course, there are plenty of other phones (particularly from Samsung and LG) that grab just as much attention, and manage to cost quite a bit less. So the conclusion. It's not a bad phone in isolation, but it's difficult to justify the high price. It's a bit like buying a Bentley only to find out it's a Volkswagen underneath...wait...they already do that. But you see my point. The 8800, Scirocco, and Arte all seem to deliver the robust build quality, and attention grabbing looks that the 8000 series promises. This only gives you one half of the equation, therefore it just isn't worth it. So what about that Samsung U900 Soul...

  • 8600 luna well its a phone that must suite you! if you do not want people looking at you while your calling or laying down your phone then dont buy it. if you want to blend in with the crowd then dont buy it. BUT if your a stylish man or women and have self respect and self knowledge then this is your phone. indeed the cam is only 2mp and yes nobody uses the radio on it and no it has no gps no google maps ect, but still it suits me well and it will suite you well as well if you only have the style and the money for it than this is your phone. if you want exeptional features buy a nokia n95 or n96!

  • its very expensive than iphone

  • check with AutoPage Cellular at the Pavilion in Durban. if i am not mistaken it is around 7-8K

  • this phone is for i want it io want it pls help me with the retail price in south africa i really adore this phone.it suits me.

  • is this phobne really worth buying

  • can you upgrade the memory on this phone

  • if this phone doesn't take a memory card then how cum u can buy a memory card from internet

  • hi, I was given this phone from my boyfriend, brand new in the box on pay as you go after being pick pocketed on holiday. i had the phone for around 2mounths and found the charging system difficult with the whole usb applicator. after some difficulty with my charging the metal charger bit on the phone started to hang on. i had destroyed the mother bored and i am still waiting to get it bk from repairs a month down the line. the phone it self it quite straight forward nothing special bout memory etc. it looks sexy too its just the charging thats let me down but will all hopefully be okay once received bk from repair. :-)

  • I had this phone for a year now, here's a few pointers to whomever considers owing one... The phone was made in Korea - don't really have anything to add to it other than the craftsmanship seems to be ok... not exceptional but ok. As any proud Nokia luxury phone owner I just swing that thing around... so its pretty much a given that the phone gets dropped every once in a while. So far it survived the one year mark, which is exceptional considering my previous experience with the 8800 - which I had to change 4 time in a span of a year and a half. The back cover however is prone to scratches and the black polish eventually fades, revealing the original metallic surface. reception is more than decent - no problems encountered there. Battery life is below average but tolerable - the phone lasts for about a day and a half between charges under normal use. applications and features - lets admit it, whoever buys the phone does not do so because of its "performance capabilities". Its an eye candy for the most part, but it does have some useful features nonetheless. The calculator feature comes pretty handy, so does the alarm clock and the more-or-less decent 2megapixel camera. however, there is only 128MB of built in memory embedded in the phone, so if you're looking to get a media phone I recommend looking somewhere else. the radio feature is also useless as no one ever carries the headset that's required in order to play it. the phone has what appears to be a set of stereo speakers that are quite loud - definitely a plus if you're planing to blast your ringtone at full volume. I also love the ability to set flash (swf) and animated gifs as your wallpaper -> quite an entertaining and eye catching feature. application wise, you're able to install whatever suitable applications you can get your hands on. the phone comes with a few games, of which I only liked the casino (holdem). another rather useful application was the converter - a must if you're traveling between Europe and North America. The bottom line... this phone is an eye candy, if you're into that type of phones, I would definitely recommend getting one as long as you can live with its limitations... it DOES attract a lot of attention... especially in a semi dark setting because of its "glowing" and very bright display. if you like attention and standing out form the generic crowd this is deffinetly the phone for you. a final note... is is pretty much the same phone as the 8800 Arte - the main difference being that the Arte has larger storage capacity and and 3 vs 2 megapixel camera. The price difference between the two however is rather substantial... therefore, I would personally choose Luna over the Arte when considering buying one of the phones. As for me, I plan to keep this phone until Nokia releases something new, which should happen within the next year or so. Sovz

  • does anyone know where this phone was made? i want to buy one but dont want a fake

  • to bobi, you said this is a business type phone? does business type phone needs to be charged every single day? also it has the worst reception I've ever experienced

  • Its been very satisfied to have this phone with me........ thanks Luna regards, Michael lee

  • this is classy phone, not for kids - bisnis use only,u want good pic,buy a camera,u want gps by a gps, this is nokia, not like someone who made from phones till air con's.......

  • I've finally found my dream handset, classy, stunning, fabulous and has expetional profile,I just need retail price in SA.

  • For those of you considering owning the Lunar!! Forget functionality!! Forget versitility!! This mobile is all about style and wealth. There's nothing like placing it on a table to anounce your presence. Everyone will want to pick it up whilst putting theirs away, never to be seen again in public!!The pulsing keys are a fantastic touch. The green eyed coments will begin to flow,'It's too expensive', 'The cameras no good', there's no radio', 'It's so heavy'............ The fact is, it's stylish and shouts sophistication. It says you care how you look and how people percieve you. Your willing to pay that bit extra to be set apart from the crowd, the also rans!! I have all the 8800's including the Sapphire Arte. They are the dress mobiles, champagne in one hand Lunar in the other. Everyone else.... has Lager!!

  • They are selling it now for 20 USD brand new locked to T-mobile...cheap for the people who like it..

  • This phone is about class, and look. If you are wanitng a phone with all the toys and goodies, then go and get something else. This classy phone was build for business people, or someone that loves style and have taste in style... No offend everyones, there are cheaper phone that have better stuff in it. If you like to show off and have taste in style, this is it for you

  • y dnt hv memory card??

  • its womderfull!!!!

  • Is SIS available for this phone?

  • No Micro SD Card Slot, that mess up ???

  • I want this phone. Its wonderful. Its made for me.

  • its very nice, rchlook moble, comm on buy itt

  • now they're selling it brand new for only 300EUR. people just didn't buy it, it was too expensive for such a lame phone.

  • i am havin this stupid nokia luna...and now i am fedup ...beaacuse...it hang every time....and now i just wanna break it.....bloody idout phone

  • Its the High End Luxury line of Nokia, not for techs, not for anyone, you pay for the (stupid) "I value it", so if you think in money, isnt for you, if you think in design and materials and the money doesnt matter, cmon buy it!!!!

  • i think the keypad cover which everyone says thats its glass i think its not glass its plastic.. what do u guys think??

  • stupidest phone

  • i used to own this phone until i sold it for a htc touch...after 5 months i realised that i made a big mistake. everybody who likes it and can afford it buy it and don't hesitate!

  • is there anyone who can make me understand why is this costing too much? i think i should go for nokia5610 xpress music rather than this phone illogically charging so high price.

  • why should go for this $800+ phone when there is no memory card slot,3G,better camera with flash.....?Is it water-proof,shock-proof or made using jewels?

  • rubbish, not a high-end phone. I dont understand what for 400? I've had this phone for about 3 months now and I can say that it is useless. Call quality is probably the worst I ever experienced, built quality is pathetic...and I can continue. I moved from Samsung g600 to luna, I can say that I've made a mistake.

  • @max, I think it's just the luna's crappy camera. Mine also has a greenish haze on some of the pictures taken. Too bad. Batterytime of the phone is pretty well, I've charged the phone only once (first time) and managed to get out like 2.5 day with 27 sms total sent and received, and about 24 mins of talking. Bluetooth always on. Considering this was just the first charge of the battery, I think I will be able to get 3 or 4 days functionality on one battery charge out of this one. Reception quality and speaker loudness are very good. No problems here :)!

  • i just got my luna tody., can any one help me find the fonts, and when iam on, the caller cant hear me loud even when the volume on high thanks

  • I am wondering if fingerprints are easily seen on this phone?

  • how can u recharge the battery in Asia ... ?? it always show Bad Contact Charger ... can anybody help ??

  • Hi Guys, just wondering if everyone else have the same problem with the camera, where all pictures appears to be greenish when taken? is it just my luna or that's just the standard quality of the phone?

  • This Luna is soo sexy! Gonna get one in a couple of days xD! Will post my opinion after having played with it! Later all!

  • I was about to purchase this phone and than realized that it does not have a memory slot this phone comes with 128mb built in but you can not expand it so basically the memory that comes with it is what you get you can not expand besides seems to be a bit flimzy but great design and looks!

  • the original unlock code is 12345. hope that helps

  • Hi does anyone know if this phone has symbian technology and also can you put nokia maps on this phone?

  • hi, its a great phone ....i've been using it for sometime now.Unfortunately, i dropped it and the front and back casing has some scratches which really breaks my heart when i see it....! however, the glass cover is still in perfect condition... is it possible to change the cover of the phone since it is uniquely designed? pls help..

  • We had one of these come in today, the views of a few of my workmates is that yes it looks ok but it uses the standard Nokia format as far as operation of the handset so nothing special there, the slide function works well but the lower buttons are awkward to use, on the whole we think it is just a bit overpriced for a pretty standard handset. but if the styling is your thing and you are not looking for a feature loaded handset then it would be a good buy

  • to wo0titzalvin , I think you bought a bad china copy , bcs Luna has no CARD SLOT, phone's memory only 128 mb and no flash also,

  • wo0titzalvin, you have a fake mode lof the luna..if you get from a shop, exchange it, that is 100% fake if it contains a memory card slot. Its a china made duplicate, not a real nokia, also, im pretty sure the fake model is dual band

  • hi just got the phone but how do u set the keypad to flash on standby ?? solid phone

  • i like this phone alot, a bit smaller than what i usually have, i went from having a blackberry pearl to having this, and im still playing around and getting used to it, camera quality is awesome compared to other phones. speakers are nice too. the design is pure beauty. the glass underglow is a brillant design.. and it actually has a MICROSD SLOT.. im not sure if everyone has the same one as me or not.. but mine has it, its under the SIM CARD SLOT.. and i like it

  • yes i will go with what ALI SAID. LUNA has TFT screen which ARTE dosent have, LUNA'S keypad are more comfortable, there fore an upgraded model of LUNA should be released with some extra feature's just like Ali mentioned below :-). ARTE keypads are not that comfortable as compared to LUNA, extra features should just be like 8800 arte: 1) turn to mute 2) scratch resistant 3) Upgraded memory 4) Magic clock I hope an upgraded model of Luna would be released

  • NOKIA 8600 luna is a gr8 phone, yet i didnt faced any problems in it, i hope nokia launches a new model of LUNA with some extra feature just like 8800 arte has e.g turn to mute, magic clock etc... NOKIA RULZZZ

  • 8600 luna is the great phone that i have afer 8800 sirocco . nokia rullz

  • hi i am desperate really cool phone such as this one! i only have 300 and it must be either sim free or pay as you go/talk! can anyone help me? thanks

  • to tony, do u have any problem abt signal receiption problem. How is call qaulity, it is loud enough, thks

  • yeah glass is scratch ressitance

  • GOOD SOLID PHONE. does exactly what it says on the tin.. quality nokia handset in a sleek design. reliable too.. battery life is admittedly a bit pants but, 2 days on a full charge is pretty average with most phones.

  • hey guys, Please do not purchase this phone, as its my worst ever nightmare. Yes it looks good, but that is it. you will encounter several issues. It is indeed one of the worst Nokia phones ive had. i have had it replaced 3 times and the problem just gets worse. People cant hear you, camera is crap, the phone turns off on its on while u speaking, voice is badly distorted, there are soooo many problems with this phone that you will hate to simply use it. Like i said it just looks good, i am on the merge of contacting trading standards because its sucha missleading phone. i cannot believe that Nokia has created something that yes it looks nice and regarding the features, they not bad but the actual phone is terrible. If you wish to not be able to have a conversation, since you either wont hear them or they wont hear you, while you speaking with someone then Go for it.For those who had a great expearience with this phone i congratulate you, as i am sure you are part of the few...

  • I got 1 of these about 4weeks ago....and im gutted because i dropped it and smashed the screen and the glass that covers the key pad! Although this is a great phone, i often find my voice crackles when i talk 2 people...but once i hang-up and re-call it seems fine! i originally had the 8800sirocco which i loved sooooo much, even more than this phone...but my mate dropped it in her pint : ( i really am not having much luck with phones! Over-all the phone is very good, great battery life, cool features and the camera quality is really good...but no flash or memory slot!

  • Great phone, I've got mine for 4 months with no any problem. I turn it on in the store, and I even didn't need to restart it. It have all that you need, If you need more functions, buy laptop.

  • i agree on the battery cover,i think my is stuck now, i cant get it open. altho is a really nice phone.

  • Darn, I just got mine stolen :(( Best phone in the world if you can get one that comes with a good body construction (battery cover plate must fit nicely, otherwise it will haunt you!).

  • u can see fingerprints on the back of the phone in the 360 spin hehehe

  • A very beautiful phone, for girls, fragile but frendly to the skin. Good photos too except in the dark. it should have a flash and a biger memory

  • do u know if u can make ur own ringtones for this phone? for example sending a clip of a song from ur computer to the phone through bluetooth or usb.

  • im really hope somehow they can increase the memory, $ 600 for 128mb ?!!! but oh well, great though

  • i just realize that the back of the is metal, which i always thought it was plastic. interesting, i not sure if the glass is scratch ressitance, i dont dare to try. lolz

  • very nice phone

  • can anyone tell me abt call quality. How is the signal reception. Voices for both sides are clear? thks in advance

  • Does this phone have scratch resistance display? To any one whom own this phone.. Or this phone is really easy to scratch like any regular Nokia phone

  • . . wow, i will really buy one for my sister and myself. .

  • The phone is very good, build qult. good, batt life good, very good bussines phone

  • luna its the best......in every thing...style,olso in call conversation...its simply the best:))))

  • I just got the phone with no charger. So I ordered the charger and it just doesn't charge. I plug it in and it reads mode selected: default wtf is that? can someone give me an answer!!!

  • Its great Nokia set i've ever used... dont worry about any thing call quality is awesome, network here in pakistan is ok but cant say about other countries.. when u grab it, u'll feel different.. just its memory is 128MB (builtin) else set is awesome!

  • i cant decide between this or the arte? any suggestions?

  • can anyone tell me abt call quality. How is the signal reception. Voices for both sides are clear? thks in advance,

  • how is the sound when ur speaking? im currently using the arte and i also own n93, i just wonder if the luna is much more stylish than the arte? thanks

  • This phone is good overall, its battery life is excellent. better than all the other 8800 series.. However the sound quality is not very good, and the phone has a habit of freezing and turning off and restarting randonmly.

  • Of course it can be qualified as a "good" phone. It functions impeccably as a PHONE. It is not laden with extra features and is therefor not intended for people who want those features. When you look at the target demographic, it's a perfect fit. Want a music phone? SD card? Get an N-series.

  • It's a great and elegant phone... but i don't think this is qualified to be a good phone. It doesn't have mucht features and you can't even use a memory card. It's not that good for it's price. But a beautiful design! I would have just bought it for it's design, really amazing!

  • best fashion phone after nokia 8910! good job nokia !

  • well if u wanna buy it nd u like to give out dat very rich or elegent luk den just go out nd buy dis phone...but if u want gud features den dont...it doesnt hv any feature as comparin to its price...

  • hello i am planning on purchasing a nokia 8600 luna i need an opinion do you recommend this phone please let me know soon thanks cheers!

  • @Wonka12 to put it on silence without going through menu screens hold down the bottom right hand key, the # key and it will auto silent it for you.

  • I just purchased a Luna and have some comments/questions regarding it: 1. How do you show the clock on the standby/home screen? The manual says it should show up in the top righthand corner of the screen. But it doesn't for me. 2. If I miss a call, text, or email, can the phone continue to alert that I've missed a call. Yesterday I missed a text message, and because my phone didn't beep to alert me I missed something, I went several hours without replying to texts. 3. Is there an easy way to silence, set to vibrate, reduce ringing volume without going through three different menu screens? Overall, I am very pleased with the looks fo the phone, but feel it lacks some user friendly capabilities. In order to use most functions, you have to go through several different menu screens. Unless I'm missing something here..... Please help!

  • had all the nokia phones 8800, 8801 6300 and etc. the best so far. I have since it came out. little price but it worth it.

  • Hey I left a comment yesterday about my 8600, saying that i regret getting it. I take it all back, this phones AMAZING! Really classy, eye catching, I can txt, make calls, and look cool doing it. thats all i want. Thinking about getting it? Go for it. :)

  • Just got one today, replaced my sirocco. regret getin it already, feels and looks cheaper than the sirocco, the speaker makes all my music and tones sound distorted and disgusting, the charger is totally different to anything ive ever seen so if you go away and the battery dies (and lets face it, it WILL die!) noone will have a charger for it. The accessories arent as good as the sirocco's, no spare batt or desk charger. All in all, im not very happy with it. The sirocco was like a tarted up 6230i. This is a slightly tarted up 6233. The only difference is, the sirocco was nice to use.

  • what does the "china version" entitle?

  • It's an amazing phone, soooo nice. But the battery sucks...

  • i think the phone is awsome ...great lookz.stylish and very handy..though the battery ain't all tht grt..but itz ok.

  • just got this ohone, does anyone know how the Slide Animation feature works? i activate it as a display feature but nothing happens... does anyone know who to use this function?

  • this phones speaker is awfull its sound bursts when a call comes

  • how is the battery life on this thing, i know the 8801 is awfull!!!!!!!!!!!!! how does this one compair? do u have to change the batter 2-3 times a day in order to keep using the phone? or is over night charge good enough to last u for the WHOLE day?

  • This is an elegance phone... but it's too expensive for me for nokia theme visit:

  • Hey is this phone better then the 8800 ? Thanks lots

  • SE fones reeks i mean some of their models dont even have call/end keys aint any1 noticed dat i mean why is it called a fone if it doesnt have call/end keys duh? and the interface of se are the worst if ur a n0kia user will be confused with the cancel and the back keys but if ur a se user to nokia u will get the interface easily i mean some people are being over acting with nokia i mean se is worst than nokia

  • Where was your made?mine was made in germany and probably who assembled it was drunk.peace

  • Guys.... i am either blind and can not see all these faults you are describing or you are all paranoid!!! i have had my Luna for 3 months now and it is PERFECT!!! No battery cover problems or bits of steel sticking out or coming undone!!! i use it for business everyday!!! Best Phone ever if you don't need fancy functions that hardly anyone ever uses. Superb built quality.

  • I think this phone is great. Over all I think it's better than mine 8801. The only thing I don't like about LUNA compare to 8801 are the charger, and the hands on feeling. I'm use to just put my 8801 on the charger stand and now I have to plug the mini usb to the side. But over all I think LUNA is a much better phone.

  • great work from NOKIA

  • Luna is even better looking than ARte

  • Very stylish phone...if you wanna look fancy and classy there is no better phone for u..this is the best seller here in lebanon..

  • awsopme phone...................

  • WIth all tHese ProBlem ThaT U saY...ShoUlD I bUy lUnA????? Im Gettin cArZy WiTh these OpinionS:(:(:(

  • it is high time a correction is made on this phone it is 3g enabled not as wrongly reported here. mine works on all sims and i have had it now for eight good months. good luck as you go about correcting this malady.

  • My luna is poo.. and from day one has had problems, when ever someone calls me i can here my own voice though the ear phone..

  • Binh: it is really UNACCEPTABLE to put a piece of paper in a BRAND NEW luxury phone that costs 700 euros!!! For those who want to buy it: look at it very carefully! I guess Nokia has some real problems with this phone...

  • Because of problems like this i take really good care of my phone.I belive it says in the users manual that it is a very fragile phone. They should have found a better way to lock the plates on the steel body.

  • Folks, take a closer look at this phone, in person, before you buy it. Especially the removable back plate. My Luna has a bad battery cover, it doesn't fit in place. A tiny extrusion leads to big problems during one month of usage; the white rim piece on the top part is separating, becoming loose! It's too bad that Nokia didn't pay enough attention to that piece of steel before rolling them out into our hands. I will never buy another Nokia again.

  • Yes also for me the upper plate slighty moves on the left side.I suggest u put a small piece of paper inside and it will feel stable. The paper wont interfere with anything and is also invisible

  • i just got this phone about an hr ago. i can honestly say it sucks. i cant even copy my contacts from the sim card. il be spending the next 2 hrs imputting it person by person. thank god for rolodexs

  • guys everytime i change the theme, the ringtone changes too.. why!! im using a profile i created and it still changes, other than that phone is amazing

  • I have the same problem with the battery cover. The chromed lines on right and left sides don't fit perfectly. More than this, the upper back plate is slightly moving. I find it unacceptable for a phone at this price where you pay for materials and construction.

  • About the removable battery cover piece. I got mine exchanged for another brand new luna and it has the same crapy battery cover, but this time it's slightly worse than the previous one. The way this stainless steel piece was molded is out of quality control. The left curvature was bented a degrees or two more than the right side, resulting in a cheap looking constructed piece because it's not straight. Check the phone before buying it!

  • nice phone, waiting for mine to come home :D

  • Just a reply to the previous opinion I had the same issue but I realized I did not put it on properly. This phone was put together to perfection. You just need to but batter plate on correctly it will be fine. For a small review for the trendy market its made for I think its perfect. For any person looking for every day sturdy phone be concerned that it is all glass on the front. You friends will be wowed by the ascetics but don't let them drop it

  • I got mine and very disappointed with the removable battery cover piece. Manufacturing defects make it doesn't fit nicely. There's a big gap on the back when the phone is closed. I tried to squeeze it tight and the white metal rim on the top part becoming loose. So much for a high quality, expensive phone!

  • the phone is very amzing with the features and other services available to the specific unit but i want have the availability of the pink color.

  • Does anyone know how to change the alarm ring type? I use it everyday and it sounds funny, not strong enough to wake me up :)) Thanks!!

  • hi................its very nice phone guys

  • well i own one of this.sometime back though.would say this is a fab phone , nice glass cover nice weight and smoked glass with the keypads blinking and stuff. well there's a depression of price around 20 percent when it's launched. i bought at 1.2k(SGD) and now its sellin for 1k ( 1 usd to 1.4sgd) thats pretty wowy.thus i sold it and got a 8800 arte though.well, dont expect it to drop too much i guess prolly down to 800 sgd .well i liked the cam thats hidden behind .the sliding rocks too.pretty smooth. tech wise? not bad for a 2mp , quadband and its display ( the luna theme ROCKED , its FRIGGIN NICE )but the memory and batt life? uh oh. well i must say this phone kicks sirocco and 8800s asses but arte will very much win this phone for a difference of 800 sgd dollars. i would recommend this phone though.

  • You have to understand that not all the posters actually owns one of these!!! Its a great phone and superbly built and styled. Dont expect much features and you'll be pleased :)

  • Hi Guys, To say I was considering getting one of these early in the new year, but I am really disappointed to read the comments posted. Lets be honest, this is a premium phone, but if I read the complaints and general negative comments made by users, it is quite disappointing. I (ab)use my phone a lot as I get tons of sms's and calls during all hours of the day, so I guess this is not the phone for me after all.. What a pity.

  • My luna last at least close to 2 days at max and i use alot of smses and calls and my light indicator on for 30 minutes. Not too bad i say

  • You really do talk alot. My Luna lasts for more than 2 days - so this is not a problem for me :)

  • hi all stand by time bad bad you should charge after 24 hours! if you use it hard you need to charge it twice per one day!!

  • Since Luna has MicroUSB connector at the sire, I guess that table charger will not be released - ever. It would be just too complicated to connect the micro usb to the table charger in just one smooth move.

  • Its a perfect phone for calling, smsing and showing off :D However i cant find a cool looking docking station/cradle for the luna. Any ideas of a luna dock?

  • It`s the best phone i ever had ! !!

  • This phone is exquisite. I have it just because of style and looks. It's a fashion product, so it cannot have 5MP camera, 4GB RAM, GPS, card-slot. Don't say, that it sucks, just because it's not so powerfull as N95 or P1i or whaever. If you think that it sucks, that means that 80% of all produced phones today on the market sucks. Think about that. It doesn't sucks, it is just purpose-build.

  • i am currently using this phone and it looks great, but the features suck. I had an iphone before but i did not know how to jailbreak. Should i keep my luna or get another iphone? Remember: I have a hobby of hacking cell phones so think in my perspective.

  • great phone love it you have to feel it

  • if this phone slips out of your hand, the glass case will break! but because it's only part of the casing, its classed as cosmetic damage, so no insurance company of manufacturers warranty will cover it, the plastic/glass is not strong enough for the price and value of the phone! looks pretty but is weak as a friend of mine had this problem! standard plastic cased phones can take a few knocks but this is a joke!

  • hi just wanna say to some people: STOP COMPLAINING 'bout this phone..this is a great handset..truly a magnificent peice of art the fact that its expensive is that u get to spend all your dimes to the QUALITY of the materials used for this phone..plus the SHOWSTOPPER looks it got! if u want a cheap plastic phone, then go for n95! lol

  • just a question, will the dust stick inside the glass cover? like those small white tiny dust.. im sure u guys know what am i talking about..

  • oh man.. i'm having thr same problem.. can you guys please provide us some points? thx in advance

  • yaa rite one of cousin has just gifted me that luna 2 days back and i have found it useless in sense of features but what i believe its for style icon peoples i mean its NEO not for everyone its for just show off with nice looks and style and hell of pricy i just checked carphonewarehouse.co.uk they are selling it for more than 500 pounds sterling damn :(

  • Best phone ever made. period man.

  • I bought your Nokia 8600 Luna. You will be surprised what I am going to tell you about it? It speakers were damaged and when i was playing a ringtone, I could feel the speakers are torn? Can you guess how bad I must have felt? Anyways, I will never ever in life buy Nokia, nor I will recommend it to my friends and company?

  • there must be title edit option in directory and opon ending a call it should come back to the oppened contact I was using 6630, I found that phone better than this one Really sorry

  • there must be title edit option in directory and opon ending a call it should come back to the oppened contact I was using 6630, I found that phone better than this one Really sorry

  • Where the hell has it been dropped to $450??!!

  • Since sirrocco Arte arrived prices dropped to 450$ .its only S40 fone with no mem card or streo speakers 3inch side slots for them, covered with mesh gets dirty soon.Batt and signal both irritant daily charge and signal drop. 6233 themes can be loaded. The forefinger always come on lens everytime u open up,irritant.

  • its cool nice desisgn

  • Just one word... Beautiful. I own the luna for a week now and I'm very pleased with it. My previous phone was the 8800 sirocco and I think this is a worthy follow-up. The construction is very solid and does'nt make any cracky noises like plastic phones do. The display is also very clear and brilliant... Don't buy this phone if you're a features-freak.... But if you like a beatiful, perfect made phone and want to get noticed by others... This is the phone for you;-)

  • what do you expect from a Fashion Phone ?? for it to have GPS wi-fi ?? err No ..there not made for that

  • im v dissapointed...in terms of features its very poor!! im exchanging mine with n95

  • you go to menu-settings-time and date-clock-clock type-and here you select the analog or digital time. The phone is amazing ,i just have it for almoust 3 weeks by now and still love it.The Battery is great compared to the scirroco, after the third recharge i got a standby for almoust 5 days with talktime of 1 hour. The reception is good but depends on the network.i have 4 bars all the time, but if you are in a building the sygnal strenght can get weaker but this depends on how strong the network sygnal is.The phone doesnt warm up like somebody else said,it gets warmer like any normal phone during a call. Does anyone know how to get the time of call shown on the screen during a phone call? These appears only after the call has ended but what about during the phone call,so you can see how much you talked during the call.

  • does anyone know how to get the time to show on the main screen?

  • @Ahmetov: thanks alot for ur reply.

  • It heats up exact 16th minute and goes off n 36 min charged full.People buy with shashka otherwise it is not worth the price, signals only three lines four a rareity.S Atre collection is simply no improvement by series e.g 88000 only face lift

  • @Reid: I belive that you have to change your dealer. It's not the phone's problem but the quallity of the stuff that he bring to you

  • It doesn't heat at all. You can buy without any fear. I have mine for one mounth and it's a great fone with very good features for it's class (8). It's better and more actual than sirocco

  • according to what i heard, nokia does not create units with the number 4 on it because the company believes that it is bad luck. but im not that sure...

  • why nokia dont start by number 4 any one tell me plz

  • does the luna heat up really fast after few mins of talking? im planning on buying this one and i dont care about the features it got (im currently owning a n93) thanks for ur replies

  • I repent to buy this 40 series 3110c firmware fone the looks r deceiving. not worth with is staple defects signals mic batt all worst. only enjoy the 16mls themes on screen that what luna is all about

  • I have had three 8801's within the past year. All were covered under the two year warranty but all still had the same problem, including the one I currently own. I can hear my callers but they can't hear me. I need to press many buttons to trigger the mic to work again. Such a pain, I've given up on this 8801 Sirroco and just bought the 8600 Luna. I pray that the 8600 won't share those problems similar to the 8801. They are both good looking phones and because I am a loyal Nokia owner, no matter what happens, I will always buy another Nokia.

  • Ive had the phone for about a month, got my third one now! all of them seem to have a problem with the speaker and mic. Sometimes when u try to make a call the other person cannot hear u and u cannot hear them, same problem with all of the ones i have had including the one i currently have

  • Can anyone tell me is the sonud on Luna the same as on Sirocco and 8800? I have both and they are terrible, I can't hear anything! What's luna like, battery?

  • I like how the keypad lights look under the glass.. looks like it breaths... very original! Very stilish phone!

  • please does anyone know the factory restore setting code??? it says 12345 in my book but.... does not work. i just want the theme i had before... this one: thanks!!

  • 8800 arte out see review 1000 euro est price only diff is 1gb built memory this avail fr 300 euro. s40 series 2inch 240x320 no wlan -lookout when released

  • love this phone! hope they wont sell in canada, dont want ppl having it. Remembered when i bought my razr when it first came out, everyone was like shocked, and now that phone is a peice cause everyone has it

  • This is a luxury phone thats why its so expensive. If you don't like it don;t buy it. Nokia made plenty of other phones pact with features like: N95, N81, N82, 6500 slide and more. I personally really like Luna and Sirocco.

  • Please enlighten me as to how a mobile can look like a ferrari... Cars suck!

  • This phone is really really nice. If you aren't bothered about having a good camera and music player but love style then this is the phone for you. Have just got mine and am glad I picked this one. :)

  • i think its crazy sellin a phone at a price like this one for hardly any features the design is everything not worth the money same with 8800 ;)

  • just a normal phone.no 3g.. camera just 2 mp..nonsense

  • This is series 40...

  • I think the smoked glass sliding cover is sexy...being able to see through it as the keypad lights up...it's like a hot chic wearing see through lingerie. If youre the type of person to purchase a phone for its looks and not all the techy features, this is the phone you want.

  • What is the operating system? Series 40?? oh please!!

  • WARNING... do not buy this phone... I just got one, it got stolen after four days, then I got another one, and it got stolen in 3 weeks. Never buy this phone unless you want to spend money buying like 5

  • WARNING! This is a heat up Ferrari that will catch on fire & burn!

  • this is a Ferrari Shaped Phone 8800 is Lamboghini

  • Shape of a Lamborghini.....that belongs to the original 8800!

  • duz dis fone hav a shpe lyk a lamborghini sum boy told me it has

  • Luna.. what a purty name. I have the AET8900k was wondering is this phone better? It doesnt say if it has satellite tracking or not?

  • My Vertu is made from all metal & also made by Nokia; but why is the reception so strong???!!!

  • Terrible heat up, extremely weak reception with a lot of drop calls! My opinion as a pre-owner:- this phone is much worse than any 8800 in most respect as a "phone", and it is not nice to handle nor user friendly(e.g. 1. this phone is not balance cause the upper part is heavy, which make you feel like the phone will tip over whenever you hold it with one hand operation. 2. the volume control is way too high up the edge)! My advise:- forget about this phone & let's wait for the real 8800 replacement!

  • Tis phone tht design is vry nice..is a simple phone..

  • today i bought 10 pcs nokia 8600 Luna from the quality is good, but it is europe spec, and without english manual,do you think it is usual?

  • je2Z Thanks a lot for the info. I got used sirocco for $450 instead. I think "smoked glass" is a turn off -- at least for me -- as someone noticed before it can crack and than $900 will go to waste. Cheers.

  • i7have this handset and have upgraded from the 8800 . the 8600 luna has a much better batterty life on it...it is a fantastic handset and love it 100 percent recommend it.if your nt after fancy feature or a good camera and just want the handset to look good then the luna is your best pic

  • hi, i have been using the nokia 880 for the last 18months, i love my handset but do have a problem with the battery life as it goes sometimes after half a day, would a brand new battery be any better. also i want 2 upgrade 2 the 8600 so can any1 tell me wat the battery life is like on this handset please. many thanks

  • It looks lovely, but what do people think about he fetures and everything else?

  • sorry all, i use my nick name to post the previous, then my real name to post the second one. Anyway, i am not a Nokia seller, so dont get me wrong here. I just wanna share my opinions. To me, i think the best way is just go to one of the cell phone store that has this model and play around with the demo phone to see if you like it or not before you buy. Then you wont regret later, just my 2cents.

  • I do not know how long do you all talk on a cell conversation, i think the baterry is reasonable for this cell phone. I charge it everyday so there is nothing to worry. Just plug it in at night and you are ready to go the next morning.

  • i had this phone for more than 4 months. I love it. Not having any problem. The signal is good, earpieces volumn is wonderful. The design is excellent. Yes, if you have big finger, you may have problem for texting. I just wanna phone, not MP3 player, so 128MB of memory is more than enough. Just wondering why people keep asking for memory? if you need more memory and other stuff, go for PDA.

  • Is this expensive phone worth it without external memory? I`m just liking the design so far, this one & the 7900 Prism.

  • yes kikki is correct i too bought it n am sick of it and can't tolerate it jus because of low memory and no expandable memory(memory stick) and bad camera and a sick battery life , the phone is so slow when 2 calls come together. when u switch on the bluetooth the phone gets hanged so pls don't buy this sick phone.

  • this is a relli sick fone i hade it for a week n had to sell it off not so frendly to use and seriously talkin pls pls pls don't buy this. this is a humble request.

  • I had all the 88xx series, but this one is something else. It has better style, better body shape, much much better display. If you want to use your phone as a phone with style I recommend it to you. Don't waste your time with some playing toys like N95. Keep up good working NOKIA!

  • I need to inform everyone out there that the US version of the Luna has no configurable email in "messaging". All pictures and videos of the luna show that feature but the US VERSION does not have it!!

  • It cost $848 all taxes included.

  • Carlos, Check out the Sonyericson W910 ....I tried my friend's brand new one yesterday & it was impressive! The 2.4" screen was crystal clear. I don't care what Nokia claim; that their phones have 16 million colors(human eyes can't tell it), the SE screen is much more colourful & clearer t my eyes! I'm not a SE fan, although I owned a few of their phones now & in the past. W910 has got a lot of usable features too. The W910 look nice in black & I'm considering getting one. Tried the K850 at the shop last week but I do not like the look nor the feel of it! Hope my suggestion is helpful to you?! Btw, I'm still enjoying my Prada phone after months of using it.....

  • I bought it today from the Nokia store on 5th Avenue in NYC. It had no possibility to configure any kind of email and the gmail and google maps applications were unable to connect. The phone is amazing looking and all but I think that when menus in the manual don't even exist in the phone then there is a problem.

  • Hi maghol, Where in the world are you? How is the signal reception of your Nokia 8600 Luna?

  • to harry and all people that dose not know about that ..this one is made specially for people that like to be one of a kind ,,,and get something no one has it ,..like the gold one of 8800 ..thank ya nokia guy

  • Thank you so much!!! :)

  • Trust me, I got rid of mine the 3rd day cause the reception signal is really quite weak & worst of all, this phone heat up badly after 15 minutes of call ! ! ! Don't trust any comment, just try & test the phone before you buy.

  • Good morning! 10/16/07 9:06 am CST I want to buy this phone and my only question is about the signal reception. I love the looks of this phone, I have the N95. I just want a small phone to out and have good reception. I live in Houston, TX. I already know about the features. It's just a fashion phone. Please, could someone tell how the reception strenght is? Thanks in advance!!!!

  • Luna is 40 series and buttons of 4 ad 6 hard to press becuz fingers cover half smoked glass. The slots of speakers on each side are bit long and wide,so dust settles on inside easily.Signal strength are also three lines strong. As the price is 600$ plus,so are the customers lessser, esp resale as 60% slash.Ironany is that people buy and critisize at the same time.So long the sales are pushing Nokia does not care much. N95 a typical example still n short supply with the biggest hardware/software faults. If idots are arounds Nokia would benefit at their ignorance.

  • the best best very best cell phone numero uno for my people whos got money if you dont then i dont know!

  • To Harry and rest of you, who don't know, what is the 8xxx series of nokia all about - please stop posting your opinions, if you don't know, what you're talking about.

  • no 3G, no WLAN, no card slot !! why is it so expensive though ?

  • @ PGh0: Its cool you are talking about style like its a general thing. Like everyone has the same style, and thus likes the same things. Well people dont, so dont say people whho dont like this phone have no style, thats just rubbish. I do like this phone. A lot. I will probably go and buy it this week as a replacement for my eten X500.

  • ive had two of these phones, i think its the best phone out at the moment. Dont get me wrong its not got all the singing and dancing feature, but if your looking for a reliable handset that does what phones are suppose to whilst looking fantastic, then this is the phone to go for. Ive had many other 'GADGETY' phones in the past, but their no where near as reliable..... The ONLY downfall of this phone, is that if you go out and get drunk and lagging (like me) and drop this phone the smoked glass front will crack NOT SCRATCH BUT CRACK, well i did have it in my back pocket and my whole body weight fell on it... so it was my fault, but i went straight out and got another.... the phone is AMAZING ! buy it if your a smart adult, otherwise get a shitty gadget phone

  • I would definitely by this phone if it had a card slot. I guess i will wait til it does. You know it's coming soon. Man do i love nokia phones. Too bad i don't have the mula to invest in one atm.

  • all those people saying 8800SE is way better than 8600 say that only because 1. they cant afford one 2. they own the 8800SE 3. they dont know what true style is and frankly speakin'... the screen of Luna is alot better than the Sirocco... even the keypad of luna is better, also sound! the signal strength is way better than sirocco due to that sircco is almost full steel which causes dificulty for signals... the smoked glass gives a better feeling to the user of true style.... and these fones are to get noticed.... so what would make u get noticed better than SMOKED GLASS... the siroco is also good but luna has another road to cover...! i think they should have added a bit glossyness to the fone... in real the luna looks bit dull when turned off but when you light up the fone... it finishes that concern too! cheers Nokia! keep up the good work!

  • Fall in love with this mobile with just first sight and just wanted to know if the display of this phone is scratch proof like the 8800 serries.

  • It should be the best phone ever only in design, not overall...

  • ok to some it up it is absolutely stunning and a work of art and feels like a real qaulity phone. For those who keep posting that they are disapointed with features grow up!! this phone is made for those with style and elegance do you not read up before you buy!! i see people with the same old phones but when i show off mine you should see the looks on others faces ENVIOUS!!! HAHA! 1setback is battery life is poor but just buy a spare! SUPERB

  • I own a Luna and I must say it is the best phone ever. I love "feature phones" as much as the next guy (owned Nokia 6600, Palm Treo 680, Htc Touch, and BB 8700) but sometimes you just want to be a little decadent. Frankly, I think I would have been a bit upset if the luna was feature packed - just another swiss army knife handset. Then you would have every techie on the block owning one. It simply speaks to the exclusivity. The phone itself has a bit of weight to it due to the scratch resistant glass front and soft stainless steel back. You actually feel like you are holding something in your hand unlike my HTC Touch smartphone that weighs almost nothing. Even the slide mechanism ball bearings in the Luna feel solid and provides some resistance to slide open. You cannot open the slider with slight pressure like other phones. When closing the slider, you hear a satisfying "clasp" sound as metal hits metal. I caught myself opening and closing the slider just for the fun of it. Keypad glows through the pitch dark smokey lower half of the slider. Plus you have 2mp Camera, mp3 player, Stereo FM radio, Stereo bluetooth, superfast UI, Stereo Widening feature, calendars, flash programs, excellent screen ( a whopping 16M colours compared to 256K on most phones today including high-end smartphones). And finally, unlike the Prada (which I think is very feminine), guys can feel confident in owning a stylish handset without throwing their masculinity into question. :-)

  • I love this bloody phone and i have no idea why! Iv had it for awhile now and still prefer it to my n95 or my G600. Its just like a ronseal adverrt it does whta it says on the tin. just really bloody nice

  • if only this had card slot it would be instant buy 4 me =/

  • Hey.. guys.. this phone is a show of phone. if you use mail, calendar and more

  • excellent phone

  • glass is really hard to scratch. how can it be " really easy to scratch"???

  • to Woza: It flashes, because it's fancy. Nokia tried to make this phone as a living organism :) I had this phone on a test for a few days and I just loved this, when the keypad was flashing, while I was in a bar - very eye-catching :)

  • from whwere do you know that this phone is easy to scrach?

  • gd fone...very easy to scratch.dont buy this fone!!!it is expensive,it lasts f0r 1-2 days and it has limited things 0n it.if u want A f0ne buy the p1!!u can buy 2 0f them with that kinda m0ney.

  • I got this fone yesterday for the look and style only

  • number uno

  • Went to the orange shop today - default pin is 1111 just incase anyone else wants to know!!

  • 12345

  • try 1234

  • Hey guys, i bought this phone yesterday i have to say its probably the best phone i have had in a long time. My previous phone was the n80 which was terrible. This is a nice basic phone that looks the business. I don't want a camera and an mp3 player on my phone - just a phone that works well and this is the luna. Can anyone tell me why the keypad flashes sometimes? Im not quite sure why it does that? Anyone on orange know what the pin code is? i have tried 0000 but it said it was wrong? i want to set the pin code for when i turn the phone on? Thanks guys Woza.

  • Quote: This is the most beautifully constructed phone I have ever owned. Why would anyone spend so much money for a relatively "basic" phone in terms of features? My question is: Do you really need all those features, like 3G, 5MP camera, GPS navigation, wifi support, etc.? If you do,then buy yourself a LAPTOP then the Luna is not for you. If you don't, then this phone is probably a good choice as it does all the basic phone features calling/receiving and SMS very well & with alot of style. A good example is a watch!!The point is why do some ppl buy a Rolex watch & others buy a Tag Heur or Seiko or Casio.Your entry level Rolex would cost bout 10 000$ and a Tag 2000 $ and your Casio 100$.The Casio would outshine the Rolex And Tag in every department when it comes to features like mp3 player ,control your TV via infra-red all that mumbo jumbo, yet the very basic concept of these products is to tell time and the Rolex does just that & dont 4get all the exotic minerals used to make it. So guys cmon if you looking for that (Rolex) with a mp3 player & memory card stop fooling yourself you wont find one, go out and buy that big, broard, wide, long, bulky & not forgetting PLASTIC N95 or P1 or P520. On the flipside of that coin if you want an absolute showstopper in terms of looks, build quality, class, status, then get any 8 series Nokia or for those who can afford it Vertu Constellation series. couldn't have said it any better~

  • Not owned the Luna so cannot comment on the battery life (my wife has the Luna & she seems happy with it) - mind you if ur using for business then maybe perhaps the battery does'nt last...3 batteries is a lot of chatting! The Rolex comparison is quite right, Rolex are simple but look the business...same as 8series phones. Reading this forum it seems most people who complain about Luna or Sirocco etc is always about what you get and the cost of the phone....you know what? i reckon if the 8series phones were top loaded ie: 3mp camera, expandable memory etc etc...and the price was still the same as it is now....people would still complain and compare...

  • This is the most beautifully constructed phone I have ever owned. Why would anyone spend so much money for a relatively "basic" phone in terms of features? • you are right Saleeper, but the battery is really s...., absolute not as you can expect from a expensive mobile. I really tell you the reality, I use this phone for my daily business and I need to carry two spare batteries ( means total 3 ) to reach the evening. come on people, nice mobile YES, but not a mobile to use.Let us call it a juwel, not a phone

  • Interesting comments on this forum...i'd like to express a few comments...first of all, the Luna is not a replacement for the Sirocco...Nokia just extended the 8series line...as for the Luna being better than the Sirocco? well thats up to individuals to decide on...In my personal opinion, i prefer the Sirocco, nicer to hold and the close system is easier than the Luna's. Fingers can sometimes get caught on the Luna. The person who batterered their Luna etc - i have to say the phone may be scratch resistant BUT NOT scratch proof. People who complain about the MP3 player, no expandable memory, poor camera etc...well Nokia have other phones that suit that market like the N75 etc. End of the day buy a ipod or a proper digital camera....the 8series phones are just special, thats all...great for texting,phone-calls - and the odd pic here and there...simple...they are exclusive because of the materials used to build them - and when you hold one in your hand....you'll know what i mean!!

  • Right on, Mister or Miss "L", who posted this comment on September 8th? "OK Sirocco users have u ever tried to smash ur sirocco on the wall? have u ever beaten the hell out of it with punches and strong slaps? have u ever thrown..." you can post videos on photobucket.com and link it from here with videos of you smashing it into a wall and other things you mentioned. I mean, if it wasn't destroyed the first time around, it should yield the same results, am i right? Until then, I'll consider you having an imaginary 8600. toodles.

  • Very poor ergonomic! Styling & user friendliness not half as good as the 8800...

  • 600$ was factor which compelled me to buy.Being S 40 series its interface same as 6233 or 3110c,battery has same problem as 6300 display too bright no adjustments sameday recharge. Most uncomfortable is keys press of 4,6,7,9 which cannot be pressed by normal fingertips.Sound n dual speaker is to bass not clear n loud, camera underperformer must have had carlzeiss lenz, internal memory restricted to 118MB usable.Irepent never n life go for expensive cells, only 1100 woulb be perfect at last

  • to be seen is Nokia Luna indeed numero uno, to use it as a business mobile it is numero 2344. Just to tell, this is a style Icon, useless as phone, just because of the battery life. Take the Nokia and make 1 hour calls, battery will be empty

  • nokia 8600 luna is number uno!

  • I think this set is very classical and business class set and i love it for its elegency.

  • the battery life is terrible, if you use the phone as a business man even one spare battery is not enough to reach the end of the day. will use the E65 again

  • this phone has no GPS, be honest, this phone just can make calls. biggest minus point,no mem card

  • Hey, Seems like a nice phone, one thing im wondering... Does This Phone Have GPS? Maps.. and so on

  • OMG!! don't ever think of buying this phone!!!. when i heard the price i became stunned. This is not worth it at all. The N70 is much better and has more functions than this has. For some more money you could buy the N95. I really dont recommand buying this phone. waste of money!!!

  • I don't have this phone but it really looks cool and very stylish from the video. The only thing that bothers me (although looks nice) is that the keypad cover is made of glass. But I think this is a very good phone for a beginner. Should I buy this phone? or it's not worth it?

  • Hey everyone! I have owned a 8800 sirocco and played with both the Luna and the Prada. The only thing that is a cut-back for me is that the Prada and the Sirocco are triband phones, which is necessary when you live in the US like me. But as far as the Luna being better than the Sirocco, I truly don't think so. For one, I believe the Sirocco is still more expensive than the Luna that is newer and supposedly better. Sirocco offers more accessories, from the deck to the 2nd battery and more convenient leather pouch. Luna has the a smoked glass that looks good but let's face it, it's glass! And glass breaks easily, scratches, and attracts fingerprints... You definitely are not allowed to drop it. All in all, the Prada is great design-wise but Nokia will always have a more user-friendly software. Sirocco still is the best to me!

  • Bad quality.....reception extremely weak!

  • Please. this phone is of a quality that many of you cannot get your heads around. its too bad people actually use your misguided thoughts. if you want a 5 megapixel camera, buy a camera.

  • I own the Luna and was lucky to be with a colleaugue owning a Prada for one week. we spend some of our evening time with comparing both mobiles and that is what we found: battery life is better in Prada but still not good. Prada is for sure more eye catcher. Build quality is better in Luna. Sound by making calls, no discussion here, Prada is better. Mobile functions are almost same. What to buy ? I prefer my Luna as it is Nokia and I am a Nokia lover, but need to be said..Prada is same quality. let you guide by the design

  • just recieved one today an so far i think is amazing. build quality is faultless screen an camra great. love it

  • true, if you want something really special...have a look at the LG prada

  • this phone is better then 8800 sirocco!

  • Is it true that 8600 Luna does not have video call???

  • I really can't understand why anyone would buy this unit. It's a fashion phone that happens to be well not very fashionable!lg prada destroys this nokia in the style department.

  • Trust me, DON'T BUY this phone, except if you really can't resist the look or the build quality! Even the original 8800 or sirocco is better as a phone! 8800 design does give a very balance feel when you press the keypads because they are right in the middle(8600 keypad is off to the lower side). Try it for yourself! Both 8800 & 8600 have pretty weak signal/reception when compare to any other phone you care to name(whatever the price). From memory, I did not encounter heat up in any of my previousely owned 8800 or sirocco, but severe heat up with the 8600(only need 15 mins. continues conversations to find out). Yes, every single function should have improved over the 8800 line up......but I personally do not found this to be all true!!! Improvement like a better & bigger screen is welcome. Camera of 2MP is nothing; and there is no auto focus......there's cheaper phones out there that gives better quality camera! I'm only talking about the basic function of a phone; as a phone. The battery life is still very short & the 8600 took more than 1 & a half hour to fully charge as compare to approx. 1hr for the 8800. I really can't think of anything special about the 8600 to recommand to anyone. 8600 is not even as nice to hold as the 8800 when using for conversation(got to try it yourself). The volume control key is situated way too high at the upper edge. The owners manual mentioned that the atenna was built into the bottom part of the phone; and so recommand not to hold that part of the phone. In reality, imagine how awkward it is to the top 2/3 of the phone during conversations!!!(You can talk without the phone sliding open, but then it will be more difficult to hold since you are not supposed to hold/block the bottom 1/3). By the way, according to callers at the other end, background noise supression is not designed/built into this phone. Handsfree speaker phone is top quality and still one of the best. If anyone can't resist the look of this phone, like I did, then go ahead & buy it. If you want good build quality, this phone does provide(except if you can afford a Vertu phone which is in a totally different class of quality). One thing I am still not sure is why the Vertu phones(also made by Nokia) have much stronger reception than the 8 series Nokia phones & any other phones that I have tried/own?!

  • I like the phone and I want to buy but I heard there wasn't any memory card, besides the 128MB internal can we add some memory card?

  • The major market for this phone should be the Artic/Siberia.....it can keep the user warm when the phone heat up during conversation.

  • My mate has this phone - it has a large crack on the sccreen. It is a poor mobile. Not good at all.

  • cack phone! dont hold it in your hand as it feels so nice you'll want 1 and regret it

  • Heating up during conversations is a big problem...

  • simple Number 1 cell

  • hey guyz... this fone is interesting from shape.... im planning to buy one but im rather confused by some of the comments here...! they say 8800 sirocco is better but when we look at style! what style would be better than smoked glass??? n the screen of luna is also better than sirocco! hey guyz please tell me wether which one is better? by lookin at first site... luna looks quite impressive also... the decent shape and elegant design....

  • Trade it in for something better...

  • damn....i have the same problem with the sound speakers...does anyone know where can i fix it? thanks!

  • hy i have phone and i love it.Its a cool phone but its not for my age 14 yers old....Now i wanna buy the n95 8GB,my old phone its n95...

  • That phone for serious men, but not for child. With out any futures for device edict. I recommend every one who need solid phone.

  • take a close look to luna. from looking pictures my grandma can speak too

  • There is no astonishment, the luna is cheaper than 8800. It has only plastic-display and no desk-stand....

  • 50 cent cell its the same and its pimp!

  • please dont make any comment about luna. first go and see the phone in the market.

  • I had this phone a while ago & it's quite bad, or I would not have sold it!!! For about the same price, I prefer my LG PRADA phone which I'm still keeping(a lot more better overall than the 8600). The PRADA phone is much more entertaining, much louder & better quality sound(maybe except the handsfree speaker phone), much stronger signal, a longer standby & talk time, a bigger screen(easier to read or see & take photos), better quality photo & video, and most importantly, it does not heat up badly like the 8600(although it does heat up slighty too). just for reference, Motorola phones like K1/K3/A1200 do not heat up at all even after 2 hours omore of continues conversation. The solid feeling of any 8 series Nokia phones is because they are made from metal & hence a heavy; solid feel. If the PRADA phone is made of metal, it would feel the same too ... but then it will be a lot heavier. Well, I would say that both phones build quality are on a par.

  • Nokia 8600 come with less accessories than the 8800 cause they want to lower the selling price & more people can afford it! but, although the price is lower, this phone is selling badly ... major reason I suppose must be the look; which is not even half as good looking nor as elegant as the 8800, period.

  • the only reason there is one battery not two is because its battery life is longer than the 8800. the 8800 gave awtay free bluetooth headsets so that they could sell. the 8600 is not as bad as you think.

  • Ear piece volume kind of on the low side & voice quality not as good as the 8800. Hands free speaker also not as good sound quality as 8800. 8800 also more simple & elegant looking. Regarding lower price compare to the 8800, this 8600 package come only with one battery instead of two as in the 8800; and there is no charger stand nor bluetooth devise supplied in the package

  • how come is 8801 sirroco more $$ than luna?? I checked a few website 8600 is a little bit cheaper!!

  • i make phone calls that last an hour and it doesnt heat up. all you people that say it does probably dont even have the phone

  • Terrible heat up problem

  • FYI,keypad dimming on and off gadget is nothing new, it's been used in Sony Ericsson phones for quite a while already!!!

  • awesome phone, i dropped this glass screened phone and did not break it luckily :), things i like about this phone are; elegant, the steel case, the heavy weight, the "Luna" itself, if you know what it is. It is not named Luna by no reason, Luna is when the keypad are dimming on and off. it's so beautiful!!!!

  • I have both 8600 & 8800. The 8600 is by far a better phone for these reasons: 8600 front side is far more resilient to scratching or denting. 8600 battery lasts far longer 8600 heats up LESS than the 8800 8600 has better camera/video 8600 interface and the such is more intuitive. The 8800 is only better in ONE regard than the 8600. The 8800 is classier in that it's all metal. Because the 8600 is falt black in the back, it doesn't feel as expensive as the 8800.

  • Not a good "phone" at all!

  • Longer time ago I posted a quite negative message about this phone, mainly because of a specific situation (broken charger which I thought to be short life battery) which was solved in the meantime. So it would be only fair to come back with feedback on the excellent concept behind this phone that gives me such a great joy when using it! I am among those users that care less about thousands of features and more about owning a reliable phone that on top is great pleasure to use. I like the great choice of materials (glass, iron, all feeling great when touching), the sensation of top quality it delivers (even by the fact that it is a bit heavier that other plastic-made, cheaper look-like phones), the fact that exerything goes perfectly together (menu, sounds, themes, etc). Well done!

  • hey i saw this phone, i think its awesom.. but doubtful bout the battery, it feels gr8 in hand and the slider works perfectly.. feels solid.. wish it had a gud battery too, expensive though it is.. but worth every penny..

  • what is so great about this phone, y is it so expensive

  • hot hot like a girl 8600 luna is nice. is better than 7900

  • haha 8600 luna is mach more money then sirroco 2006 model

  • One of the worst phone on the market! It heats up badly, not so user friendly as others thought, those fonts are too small for comfortable reading & the reception is very weak!!!

  • this is an upgrade to the 8800s. its just that nokia decided to make it cheaper by a couple of hundred. Ive had the 8800, then the 8800s and now this luna and the luna is actually a better phone, the screen is quality and its now possible to txt with the bigger buttons. It feels better aswell to hold. And the light effects when closed is just cool, pointless but very cool. The battery life is a lot better aswell

  • I recerived my luna today. Have any of you guys experienced problems concirning the sound? It sounds lake crap, the sound of the tunes is very, very bad (it sounds as the speaker is broken)...it has to be something wrong whith this phone, not with every luna existing on the market. I have sent it back and now i'm waiting for an other one...hopefully i won't have the same problem...

  • this phone is not the successor of sirocco. this phone is lower segment.

  • for the money this fone is great but it comes no where near the 8800 soroco in durability

  • yepp its a nice phone ;)

  • New version of 8910i

  • Well, i just sold my n95 two days ago for 215 asw i had sold my siricco to pay for the n95, ive now bought a luna for 185!! just waiting for it in the posttt!! :D cant wait, even though n95 features compared to lunas will be like "whaaa where'd that go?"

  • OK Sirocco users have u ever tried to smash ur sirocco on the wall? have u ever beaten the hell out of it with punches and strong slaps? have u ever thrown it down on the floor hard have u ever thrown it down the stairs and then stepped on it and kicked it 5 or 6 times and then rubbed it onto the surface? well i have done all this shit with my 8600 Luna and still after all of this smashes its working just like it was before no scratches no signal or antenna problem and no other such issues just a crack on the glass not even the screen and its not a big deal after having so much impacts just a crack on the glass not even a scratch else where but i have seen sirocco all messed up with scratches bcoz its material is rubbish but Luna is true scratch resistance and far more shining too and what can u say more durable as well still sometime i mess with it bcoz there is a reason for that which i dont wana share as its personal but still its the best durable fone in the market and i like it very much and by the way its glass worths 45GBP so dont break it dudes... Cheers oh yea one more thing to check the glass i also tried hard to scratch it with a fork, blade and letter oepner and after trying too hard i found some scratches on the glass caused only be the letter opener as i tried my level best to scratch it but still they are not that much visible and the screen looks and feels clear too so my frnds its my frndly advise u should go for this instead of sirocco as i my self have checked its limits and m proud to announce u with Luna my Luna that is , if u guys wana see its pics with broken glass tell me a web site and i will upload the photos as i dont know which website gives such a facility. Thanks

  • Is Luna NEW version of Sirocco or not? Please answer!!!!!!!!!!!

  • All the comments down are absolute bullsh*t! first, the Luna is way much cheaper than a 8800 or 8800 sirocco (I know it, I had both) then please be more specific in your criticism. it's pointless saying that one phone is better than an other without bringing arguments. You'd rather say i don't like it, but the truth is the luna is better... Larger screen, quick interface, better pics... and a better design... what else can i say...

  • sirocco is better than this. im waiting 8910 classic or something..

  • to sirroco, this phone is based on looks, just like the sirroco, and in my opinion the sirroco is much better looking. i had one and loved it.

  • way to expensive... if i was going to spend this much money on a phone i would go for an n95! its just overpriced, i know titanium is expensive, but it realy is going overboard! u dont need a phone this expensive with rubbish features!

  • such a sexy phone. Made of pure glass. I love it. Gave up my sirocco for it.

  • well well thats one very good looking phone for rich people pimp!

  • Great phone, I even reviewed it over on hofo and esato.com

  • $700

  • hi, now i'm using sirocco and thinking to buy luna. do you recommend this phone after sirocco? this phone looks a little bit cheap. could you give some info about this phone?

  • my dad got me one, i admit the phone is classy, and i'm the only one who has it at school. my gripe, i find it very heavy, but the envy of my peers makes it all worthwhile. one guy keeps staring at it, i think he'd steal it first chance he gets (he's using one of those jurassic low-end nokias, i don't even know what it's called, the one that's pear-shaped).

  • This phone is made for looks, not features. So if you buy this phone, don't complain about the features because everyone knows if you want features, get something within the N series. I bought this phone and loved it from the start, and i bought it for looks.

  • To:- 2007-08-21 23:17 nERs The 8600 does heat up badly, stupid ... I bet you don't you don't have this phone and so shut up!!!

  • specs are better on luna but design and look sirocco rules.

  • nokia 8600 luna and sirocco are the best luxury phones cuz stone cold sead so!

  • lol it Heat's up ? and yes i have to Agree 8800 sirocco is better then 8600(the cheaper version of it)

  • Overall, this is not a good phone, the 8800 is better by some margin! Take my advise, DON"T BUY THIS PHONE! I'm selling mine because I'm not happy with it(I still have the 8800 & not selling it) at all. As an owner/user, I can only rate this phone a 4 out of 10.

  • bought this phone and not good enough then sirocco

  • Nokia 8600 is number one. Excellent phone Nokia

  • what's the max resolution of moving pictures (videos) you can make with this phone? how is the framerate, and sound quality of those videos? how is the max length of audio recordings you can make with this phone? is it only AMR or are other formats also suppoorted? thnx a lot!mrn

  • Not really a comfortable phone to hold for long conversation .....

  • Pretty weak reception....

  • Why do Nokia phones heat up? I have same problem with this 8600, E65, 6300 etc. Can anyone explain why?

  • This phone does heat up badly! The fonts are too small ...

  • I really like the lunar, but i must just say one thing, it traps your fingers!!

  • nokia is the best and with 8600 luna this model makes the girls go crazy if you are a hot boy!

  • Back panel easy to scratch ... handle with care.

  • is that matted black paint on back panel easy to get scratches??? how about scratching the back panel with finger nail??? i want to know this

  • i agree with james. i have been using the phone and i cant stop lookin at it. if i was a phone i would marry it. hmm maybe i still can. noone has to know...

  • This phone is amazing, when i am home at night i enjoy looking at it for long periods of time. Really, it is such a great phone it subsitutes for friends. All in all there are downsides to this phone. The first being that it doesnt talk to you like people do but on the up side it doesnt get angry at you when you talk to it wrong. James Robertson Signing Off

  • If i have that cash now.....i WILL OWN IT. beautiful phone. thanks NOKIA

  • Any Nokia Luna user have the same heat up experience?

  • David Vargas, Any phone will break/dent if you drop it! I personally am encountering two problems with the Luna ... 1. Fonts are too small for fast & easy reading. 2. The phone does heat up badly after continues conversations for 15 minutes!!! I encounter the same problem with my Nokia E65 ... I do not have the slighest idea why most Nokia phones have this heat up problem???!!!

  • 2fyx, you are enjoying your phone because its new. if buy 5110, you will enjoy it a few days. after a couple months later you'll miss your sirocco. but lunas specs are better than sirocco, you are right

  • hello everyone, I need your help in choosing this phone. I bought my girlfriend the 8800 almost 2 years ago when it first came out. She is sometimes clumsy and has dented it a lot from drops from her purse or desk. I got her the Sirocco because she preferred the black over the silver of the 8800. After about 6 months she broke the phone by dropping it. Its screen broke and the body was left dented badly. She now wants the 8600 Luna. I am willing to get it for her and she has even promised me to take very good care of it, unlike the other 2. I know her and she will also break it too. I am wondering how strong the glass is on the Luna though? I know it is glass and will not stand up to the beating of the stainless steel 8800 but would it serve 2 or 3 drops from about 4 feet high?

  • pihf, If you feel the Sirocco quality better; that's good for you ... but I'm enjoying my new Luna! By the way, I'm still keeping my original 8800(best looking) but had my black Sirocco sold. My girlfriend is using the gold Sirocco cause gold is the fashion color(she also own the D&G Motorola V3 which is also gold color).

  • 2fyx, sirocco feels the quality better than luna

  • This is a wonderful phone to hold in your hand ... except if you are the dummy?! The more you use this phone; the more you'll appreciate it's quality. The battery(when new & charge properly) can last me 2-3 days with normal use(approx. 20 mins. of call per day & a couple SMS).

  • you cant feel the metal parts when the phone is in your hands. i think you cant feel the quality

  • omg guys, i have that phone and doesnt look plastic or cheap. Its wonderful, sirocco is a cheap junk standing near luna :)

  • is luna successor of the sirocco?

  • It' Nokia's most beautiful phone ever. Best feel in hand by far too. A bit more "manly" that the 8800 series too. Wonderful sliding mechanism. Not a very good performer(like 8800), and that's a pitty. Horrible stand-by time. But it's a class of it's own. It's a fashion statement, nothing more. But it's worth it. Unlike the 8800, this looks closer to a MAN's phone.

  • The font & icon of the digital clock, missed call & message are all too tiny!!!

  • I have both LUNA & SIROCCO, LUNA is much improved except the fonts are too small(even compare to any 8800 model) & the stupid digital on standby mode & sleep mode are too tiny! Don't even understand why Nokia let you change the font of message/contact/web. but nothing else!!!

  • 2 weeks ago bought the phone but dont like the design. now i sold it and using my 8800 sirocco. before buying it, compare it with sirocco

  • its personal taste but sirocco is much better than luna. this is my own taste. luna looks plasticy. siroccos shiny body superb.

  • Attention: Don't buy from e-buy-global.com ! It's strange that they got mobile phones 70% cheaper, e.g. 8600 Luna - $150. It's that odd, that it doesn't even cover production expenses... So, my advice: don't even write to them. They aren't really from Italy! Their host is somewhere in Israel! It might aswell be some kid playing around behind his PC, and getting his money off our backs. When I asked for their company's registration number, business rate, or something like that, the director replied to me they haven't got it for anybody. 'Cause that's something that has to be made public, so anyone may verify it. Thanks! Bye!

  • Saw it, fell in love and bought it. Stop arguing about which phone is better looking, Luna or Sirocco. It's about taste, and all of ous have different taste. For me the Luna is much better looking, but for another person the Sirocco is better, understand? I had no problems with it until now, and the battery lasts 3 days.

  • Wait for Luna 2 then .

  • uglier than sirocco. it looks like 7110.

  • Don't buy! Battery lasts 12 hours max in the 1st week of usage, with only 3 minutes of conversation, despite full network coverage & proper formatting of the battery. Bad surprises continue. In the very fashionable brochure that accompanies the phone it is specified (in local language) that Nokia Luna owners benefit from 'Nokia Premium Care' service, which means priority in service, just like the 8800 series. Nobody in the service or the customer service personnel of Nokia seems to have heard about this. In addition, the tone of communication is very arrogant. I have received no appologies for, nor a solution to buying a broken phone and no value added services, despite the very appealing promises, that undobtely contributed to the sale of the device.

  • just one question if i have to drop d phone will the bottom slide break as it is glass?

  • sirocco looks better than this. i think this phone is not the new version of 88xx series... its completely looks lower segment of sirocco

  • 8600 is a great phone with excellent screen & sound quality. Ring volume is loud & handsfree speaker phone of very high quality(I believe it's the same as the ones they use on Vertu phones). Call quality is clear too...

  • thank you for your reply. i agree with you guys.. sirocco have classy look. i'm happy with my sirocco :)

  • nokia 8800 and sirroco is better

  • I agree. Sirocco looks much better than luna. Luna looks plastic and cheap.

  • to mrtt.. sirocco is more beautiful than this nokia 8600 luna.. as u can see, there's no memory card slot and the internal memory is 128mb only which is very small.. stay with ur beautiful sirocco..

  • Sirocco looks better than this. Nokia make 88xx series like 3210. you cant feel the classical feel of stainless steel. piece of crap

  • I think that the best in the 88 series are the black 8800 and the 8800 special edition far better looking than the luna and the sirocco and please dont mention features because if you are buying any of the 88 series features are not important unless you are one of these strange people who get one then moan about how bad the camera is or the lack of memory (read reviews before you buy). If you want large mem and a good cam spend your money on a N95. I have a black 8800 with a sirocco battery in works a treat I had a sirocco for a week and got rid. I have never owned a better phone they are so much more user friendly. The video recording the only thing I would ever use bar calls and txts was so shocking on the sirocco compared to my 8800.

  • I Got this phone yseterday from Phones 4 U at a bargain price, and am suitably impressed. I've got the N73 and barely used the feautures. The cameras not as good as my own Digital camera, and my Ipods better for music, So all I used the N73 for were calls and texts. The Luna looks amazing, really great build quiality and the screen is awesome. It's really easy to use and text (though the maximum group text you can do is 20 people) has good applications bluetooth works fine is what I expect, a good telecommunication device. The weight is not an issue, it feels strong in your hand. The Speakers are loud, though go crackly depending on what song, though just change the equaliser setting. And I just downloaded Google earth on to it, amazing, my own little tom tom through my free internet package. Sirroco owners are just annoyed that this thing came out, much easier to use, and you dont need to wipe fingerprints of it all the time. The steel and glass stay clean to the eye, its ownly the glossy steel around the camera on the back when its open that gets smugded.

  • sirocco is better in every thing luna is number 3 in the list not 2 if any one have to say something i say go buy and try the phone's and then comper .

  • no mate the light goes off if u keep it on stand by on your settings but if u turn stand by off the light stays on i got one an i got stand by off the fone looks good but the looks arent better then a noka 8800 sirocco but the features are.

  • .........S40

  • why don't these people mention the platform........is it S40 or S60 ?

  • is that glossy material on D-pad easy to stratch??? please can any owner tell me?

  • some people said that this is not the successor of 88xx series..

  • it's a phone for people who like to show class but you get bored of it quickly because of its lacks of aplications

  • i have sirocco. should i buy it? please compare this with sirocco.

  • Come on guys have some sense if u want to keep this fone in pockets with keys etc u can put this fone in its leather case and then put in the pocket makes sense???? now plz start using ur brain from now on...

  • does the luna have good volume???

  • Does anyone know if the keypad light can stay on even if the phone is closed?

  • this damn phone cannot coexist in your pocket with anything that might scratch it - which includes another phone, like my 8800. The front side does not scratch, but the back side with matte black finish easily scratches. The battery on the Luna lasts about a day a nd half as compared to 1 day on my 8800 (about 2 hours of talking).

  • kewl :D

  • this phone is really cute and lovely but the only problem i saw in the buzzer maybe because of the equlaizer !!!!!!!!

  • A really nice "phone" if you don't need much features. Very well made...

  • Scratch resistance, Durable, Nice Flip,100 Times better than Sirocco. Good bright big screen. Sirocco sucks because its all steal catching finger prints all the time and u have to clean it regularly but its not the case wit Luna as its not full steal and doesnt require cleaning 100 times a day, also the screen of Sirocco sucks because of poor quality display and amaler size but Luna rocks here as well the buttons of sirocco are also short and not comfurtable but Luna does its job here as well i believe Luna is far more better than Sirocco in all aspect and the fact is that most of the Sirocco customers are converting to Luna now because they are tired of cleaning it all the time and finally the more i use it the more i like it... Love u Luna

  • The wallpapers and screen savers on this phone are "organic" which means you can't compare between different handsets as they change in their own individual way. Pretty cool huh?! lol

  • im aiken la , sohai ~ Scratch resistance, Durable, Nice Flip,100 Times better than Sirocco. Love u Luna

  • sohai la ronaldo ~ so boring ~ slpy .... i like the housing of this model ...

  • this model quite nice !

  • no card slot???? absolute turn off..

  • I don't have this phone but... from the pictures it look soooooooooo beautiful... I want one just cause it's beautiful but i know I'll never get it cause it's soooo heavy and cause it costs as much as a smartphone... but this has got to be one of the most beautiful phones i have ever seen... beats out anything LG has ever made, and they're supposed to be the fashion phone company.

  • Top phone pure class worth a big tariff just to get it

Love u Luna

  • get itfrom i2 (17alahram st. roxy cairo egypt

  • Phone functions are ordinary. Fashion show off is high. It is a good Gold plated Expensive Toy. Only Recommended for Arab Sheikhs. No Hard Working Person will buy it.

  • For Chief: i have sirocco dark and luna. Sirocco is much easy to scratch then luna but the scratches on luna look real ugly compared with sirocco.I speak about normal scratches, from the car keys, etc. Luna dont have the same feeling of "class" like sirocco, but have better OS and the display is far better.

  • I think a full glass cut front is worth much more than stainless steel........ its not designed to be bling

  • Got the Luna, Sirocco and the original 8810. Have to say I love the 8 series but my favorite is the Sirocco, followed closely behind by the 8810. The Luna looks good in the pictures because of the wallpaper. The actual phone is really different when it is just sitting on the table. I almost imitates the LG chocolate. Doesn't feel like an 8-series. If you are an owner to the older 8-series, you will be rather disappointed with this phone because it has almost no stainless steel/chrome look. It isn't curvy and does not reflect the natural surrounding light. The sirocco is simple yet the contour makes the phone very interesting as it is not just a bunch of LEDs on the phone, rather it is the elegance of the simple curves of the phone combined with its shine. Overall, it is a nice phone, but it really doesn't reflect the 8-series and does not cater to its previous customers. Not worth the money if you are looking for "class".

  • I would appreciate if anyone who is currently using this phone can tell me/us about the cover; If it scratches easily especially when rubbed against another phone, also I would like to know how durable it rally is, I mean we all know the sirocco is stainless steel and the screen is scratch resistant, but what about the Luna, how durable is it - like when it accidentally drops. I would appreciate a real owner's response. Thanks

  • Top quality phone ... none better.

  • i have had the phone for 10 days and i carnt stand it

  • Ooo Ma Ma: I have just Unwrapped the Beauty. Its sure has a exquisite bodywork. No doubt in that. Its all the look, that gets your attention Man. Its just so different from other. I know that its is of no comparison in terms of features as it has nothing to offer. But to be honest you have to also admit that the things this beauty offers is of no comparison either. I mean even if you take its WEIGHT, I think its a plus point as it adds more feel and worth to it.

  • da phn is only 4 fashion nothing else as i got bore using 8800 only by 15days

  • luna is the cheaper version of sirocco but its NOT because of the lack of additional batt and bluetooth...the stainlesss steel is not as durable as the sirocco and the sliding is not as smooth due to the fact that luna does not use premium ball bearings...for more info go to to summerise-functions wise no doubt luna is better, but when it comes down to built quality and top of the range of the 8XXX series, sirocco wins hands down

  • Yo kins, Screw that 3rd World sh1111t. Thats just a word the my fellow white men created to make others feel inferior... to the point that you sound like u actually do feel inferior. U from the same messed up world just like us mate... just a less developed part but that dont mean a thing.. we all go thru the same bullsh111t. U will have the phone if u really want it... it;s nothing but a phone which will be old in a few months.

  • sirocco is something els this luna is cool but its not steel body as sirocco remember that?

  • this is a very beautiful phone.i pray people like us in third world countries we will be able to afford it.keep it up Nokia

  • nokia N95 is a lot better the lunaaa :)

  • Mem is 1g . Please stop posting fake info. Wan be joker please choose another form.

  • Best of the Best . Nokia Hi-class Premium Phone . First is the classic 8910i then follow 8800 then 8800 sircco / & now 8600 Luna.

  • Luna 8600 is upgrade version of 8800 sircco. Both gd phone. Luna is cheaper cos . no extra batt. / Org. bluetooth from nokia . Design & cool comfirm is Luna better .

  • is the luna the cheaper veison of sirocco , or is it the replacement of sirocco

  • Cum on nokia your making all these average looking phones. Where is tha expandble memory....wats the use of including a mp3 play wit only 128mb thats stupid nokia is 4 weeners

  • Nokia 8600 & 8800 sircco & 8800 is the Best . Apple i phone gd too . the rest of the phone are rubbish. esp. samsung & LG / Motor / exp........... Dont compare rubbish phone with gd phone ok . For those people who insult 8600 . they just no $ to buy . Poor cham sia .

  • Hi, you can say 8600 an advanced version of Chocolate....

  • i bought this phone a week ago and i am in love. it is an awesome phone.the design is super and display is also great.you won`t regret it if you buy one.

  • it is a very good set.

  • i love th design!!

  • the best !!!!

  • Overall,this is a 9/10 phone.

  • The most beautiful phone that Nokia ever made is the original 8800 ... especially in gun metal color.

  • Ive always love nokia , but I dont really think this one is verry beautifull. The wallpaper just make it lot attractiv

  • It cost 600Euro

  • Chris: You can easily store more than 100 numbers :D You can store at least 500 numbers! I was able to store 250 numbers on my SIM and 150 on my NOKIA 6150 ages ago, I guess that on the luna, you can do that too, plus much much more :)

  • Such a lovely looking phone. So well made too...

  • What the limit on phone numbers on this phone? I know it has 128 mb shared mempry but sometimes there is an upper limit on phone number and I've a customer that needs 100 numbers to be stored in his phone? Does anybody know, can't find that info on here or nokia's website...

  • Just purchased this phone. I've not ran through the full features at present but let my summarise the purpose of this particular handset to you. If your even thinking about getting it you already apprieciate it's looks. Your immediately drawn to the sleak design. If your after all singing all dancing then go for Sony Erikson W series or the Samsungs. I have a radio in my car and an ipod those of you who want a stylish phone, look no further...

  • Owner's opinion wanted! Since this phone is made out of real glass, how resistant is it? Do you have any scratches (yet)? If yes, how much punishment did the Luna recieved in that case? By reading different reviews, everybody talks about good quality glass, but time is needed here to really find out, how good the glass is. Thank you!

  • can anyone let me know if its possible to hang a phone strap on this phone?

  • if you want themes for your luna, check out this website: www.ownskin.com Quite good for creating your own themes as well! Oh, and for all you people out there who are slagging this phone off, I'd love ta know what phones ya currently have cus to be honest, unless it's a laptop the size of a credit card, it aint worth shoutin about!!!

  • well i finaly got the luna,a little dissapointed,,how do i get on yahoo IM,t-mobile say they dont have any settings for the luna,,and nokia say i need to contact a third party to activate this,,like who i ask myself,,would be very greatfull if anybody could shed light on this issue for me

  • It's a good phone.I bought it for my boy at his 15 years aniversary.I have a Vertu and is much better than 8***

  • every phone made by nokia is the best in market's , about this one its good looking and class but the sirocco is something els no way for chalnge.

  • ummmm....... i was tossing up between a few different phones....but i just wondering, how much does this nokia 8600 luna phone cost?

  • If your willing to pay for style over substance, which is exactly what I needed (no need for stupidly advanced camera/MP3 players etc.), this phone is superb. Very nice finish, solid feel in hand, proper sliding mechanism (my previous N80 was always half open by the time I slid it out of my jeans, not good). One minor thing, I have fairly big hands (at least this phone makes me think I do), and pushing the bottom row of buttons is hard sometimes, but apart from that no complaints.

  • Yes, this phone is very nice.

  • read reviews about luna an decided that it was the phone i wanted, i use a mobile to call and text, thats it, have slr camera for photos and i-pod for music, so a phone that looks good and keeps it simple is what i wanted and thats what the luna is, people who keep moaning about memory cards and camera/video funtions and music etc should go buy a different phone, i think the luna is a fantastic phone..

  • very nice and the one i have has all the features working perfectly. kudos to nokia. it is good

  • very chic and class good for ladies and gentle men

  • Is it the new version of 8800 series?

  • strange.. i am also having problems with the loudspeaker.. for one thing.. its not so loud.. MP3 ringtones are insanely distorted and very scratchy.. im stuck to vibrate alerts now.. can anyone help me please?

  • this phone is so so bad i carnt stand it the battary only last a few hours

  • good phone, thought it lacks in features

  • This fon is not for kids, who like playing with their mobiles. Its a very sophisticated and classy make by Nokia. Slightly expensive, but it's got class n i won't mind paying for that. I got mine few days back n so far no complaints. Battery backup is also surprisingly good. Everyone, i've shown this fon to has praised it. In all a quality product with sufficient features and elegance.

  • Still one of the best looking high class phone on the market...except the super expensive Vertu Constellation line

  • loving this fone, u get me? they love it when im showin it.. playas magent bros

  • ugly Phone with the ugly price n' ugly feature.. BADZZZZZZZZZZZ PHONE!!!!!!!

  • I just got this phone 2 weeks back. I wanted a nice phone and in all honesty this phone wasn't what I was really looking for but I got it anyways since it was the best one they had at the shop and now I have to say I love it. Its good if you want something simple and classy. It feels comfortable when your using it and if your not someone who takes pics and all everyday with their phone or uses it for mp3 then this phone is perfecto. It does attract some attention but its ok to stand out sometimes. It'll grow on you once you get, its more beautiful than the 8800 or 8800 siroccos and feels better too. I like alot, I strongly suggest over anything else if you just do calls, texts, and meetings scheduled in phone.

  • this phone is great had the lg prada and it is rubiish the lg prada i mean not had any problems with it so far the only thing im dissappointed by is the fact that the design of the leather case isnt that good and you spend so much money on ti and they dont even give you a bluetooth headset to go with it like you get with the sirrocco so now iv got a phone that is worth alot and im using a 10 pound jabra headset dat looks rubbish lol also im trying to get free themes any ideas or help as to where i can find these a website or owt iv tried zedge dat neva let me down but this time it has no themes for the 8600

  • Hi, i'm quite keen on 8600 Luna but its not available in Singapore yet. At the moment I'm having 8800, 8800 Special Edition, 8800 Sirocco. But I actually prefer my 8800 Special Edition than my sirocco, cos the sound quality & design is better. Whereas the Luna seems totally different from Sirocco. It gif me a feeling that it is combination of Nokia 6300, 8800 & Sirocco. Is anyone able to tell me more after using it?

  • Undoubtebly has style, but judging by the specs, lacks substance. So-called "exclusive" handsets (like the 8800) are simply impractical vanity pieces. Why spend a wad of bills on something that just LOOKS nice? A phone is a phone, not an ornament. Evidently, you need to be wearing Russian Goggles if you're serious about spending your hard-earned wonga on this.

  • beautifull like always but i preferd my sirroco gold, the luna its look cheaper

  • Beautiful phone, it's a shame it only has a 2mp camera though

  • hi guys... luna is great and the keypad thing is fantastic but let just not forget its not symbian which means less software functionality...... also about the noisy speaker its a defect from nokia ....i mean not supposed to be there....bi

  • 8600 fone is nice phone i also use the latest mibiles of nokia . but this fone is litttle bit different so we should all try this fone .i hope nokia will be bring mors channges in their mobiles.ok bye

  • ok luna is great phone and with cute looking and after all its nokia made and starting from the 8910i 8800 sirocco8800 and now the 8600 luna are all luxry phones, but the sirocco is something els don't ask me why .

  • if you give matches inside....hmmm so more elegant

  • I guess in a nut shell... if you never had the 8800 and went in for the 8600, then you wouldnt know the difference.. but if you are switching from the 8800 to the 8600, then you will probably miss your 8800... I have gotten my 8800 SE.. its just one fab phone :)

  • I can see what you're saying, but I have to disagree. "Hhhh," yes, but "hhhhhhh"? No, I can't get on board with that at all. Anyway. Nice phone. Very very nice phone. But the price? Not so nice. It's well built, nice to use, looks great, made of excellent materials. But for the price of the handset I'd expect something extra special. Something that looks really nice is not extra special, it's just nice looking. There are plenty of fashionable phones out there, I just can't see what makes this one so special and worth so much. It's a shame, because I do like the phone.

  • yeah thanks for that i appreciate your help

  • The speaker is crystal clear and pretty loud, so I would probably get mine checked if I were you.

  • i was wondering if one of you guys could help me. i got my 8600 today and so far i have been impressed with it, but when i have been listening to my ringtones on full volume the speakers have been really distorted and quite crackly.is this a fault or is this how its supposed to be?

  • Is the keypad supposed to flash when someone rings? Or just in standby/when the screensaver turns off?

  • hey guyz, i hav the nokia e90 n 8600 luna!! and im thinking of changing my 8600 luna for 8800 sirocco!!! please give me ur opinionz!! thankz!

  • Got mine yesterday. Not expensive as the 8800 Sirocco. Its one heavy thing ;). You can feel the materials used and the keyboard needs some getting used too. Slider seems solid and properly built. Audio quality is amazing but still under my obsolete E70. One of the first nokia phones with full screen caller display. You add a photo to a contact and it is shown over the whole display not like on E70 a small square in the bottom corner. This is a phone and not a gadget. I must say, the NOKIA baggy coming with the phone seems done with the cheapest materials on earth. Even the Ipod case is more quality. Thats the only drawback...but hey if you want Luxury from Nokia you get a 15000 euro gold Vertu.

  • hais.. i dunno if i should get this phone or n76. its jsut this phone kinda need more budget and the functions.. can i ask if this phone have functions like n76? it does not, right? what is so interesting bout this phone? the design only rite? features nt so wise rite? pls help me. thanks.

  • Here is Sg its approx 1150SGD. But the shop keepers keep saying that the price will drop down... not sure.. i am of the thought that the price should remain stable like the 8800SE Any comments?

  • you can find themes on the nokia site but they stink!! the phone is too recent, gotta wait. anyway, i got it and i'm a little disappointed... gotta get used to it but i miss my 8800... (still got it though)

  • Just wndering if the price will drop or stay pretty much stable like the 8800XX Any comments?

  • the luna is fantastic

  • omg it doesnt have a memory card slot. where are you going with this phone :@

  • where can i find themes for this cell phone? i couldnt find any at www.zedge.no .......... please somebodyy help me out here...!

  • Absolutely NOT!

  • Yummy!

  • i have changed mine for the 6300 sliver i was haveing the same probs loveing 6300 now

  • i cordent wait to get the luna but now i have got it i have already taken it back 3 times it keeps on swiching its self off

  • i think the 8600 is the worsted phone i have ever brought i am so disapounted with it the batry life is terrible it only last a few hours and it keeps frezzing!! DONT BUY IT""

  • its brill the best phone ever

  • recently i bought the 8600, i have to say it's really a nice phone. but there's one question "does the phone have a auto keypad lock" since whenever i close the slider it asks for a lock first which i find to be kind of annoying. soo does anyone know if the phone has an autolock function and how to enable it

  • dizzle:in your command you said luna is for people who can not afford sirocco? man do you need glasses? sirocco is no way closer to luna. luna is much much better phone than sirocco. luna is up grated of sirocco wake up man. you give me sirocco for free I would not look at it. go to store put two phones next to each other I bet every one who would see it would pick luna.

  • seyyedo: thank you for understand me about the phone. man I am really enjoying with it very much. I swear every time I make a call people see it ask me oh what kind kind of phone is that? looks really nice. thats all I want to hear my people did you get it?I am just being very carefull not to drop it ground by accident I am keeping it with original nokia leather case really nice one

  • best phone ever

  • 600 puonds is alot what would you about 750 EURO but i buy it from bulgaria

  • Well I have had my phone for two weeks now. I love this phone. I read the messages that complain about this phone. The only reason you get this phone is because you want to be different from everyone. I hate seeing everyone with the same phone. I want to be different from the pack. It also helps I am in the states and it has not been introduced here yet. This is a high end phone.

  • looks good but sckss actually i raplaced mine

  • its a hot phone baby simply the best must have edition

  • im not sure what to go for. the sirocco or the luna. confused but gonna get one for my bday. hope that one of them is better than my current phone, samsung U600.

  • this is for people who cannot afford the sirocco..i think the concept of this phone is great, but the as with all the 8000 series phones, it is about the feel and build quality, the smoked glass display feels rather plastic, and the stainless steel back is matt finish making it not as smooth as the sirocco. the sirocco certainly FEELS alot more expensive.. lets hear peoples opinions though..

  • ya its nice looking.i also like this phone but now a days i dont now why nokia in this series never giving card slot and internal mamory is also to low ????????????????????

  • just bought a luna a week ago, just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem with the camera lens, where it turns out to be a bit greenish?

  • Seyyedo : Yes, I totally agreed with you and I certianly respecrt your honest direct opinion. Aydin : You are really right!!! I would also say; There is no such a perfect phone for everyone on earth. You should then consider what is suitable to you according to your own budget. The choices/options are very very big out there.

  • Aydin: i liked what u posted.. i agree with u 100%

  • Patrick Seehanach: im sorry i overreacted a little bit..hehe...but i got pissed off maan!! the thing is ppl argue abt memory slot, 2mp camera bla blaa blaa...when all these features are available in so many other phones!!...i can understnad why they aruge?! why they cant understand the fact that the ppl who buy this phone do NOT need 5 mp camera or memory slot....they just need a phone that looks good and works well.. lets say nokia provides all these features that they want for this phone...ofcourse then its gonna be more expensive...again ppl r gonna complain abt the price!!....ITS JUST THAT PPL CANT STOP COMPLAINING!!! for example, have u ever seen an old business man on a motor bike?! or a young man in a limo? wudn't that be odd?? ppl just need to learn to stick to their levels and understand what they really need and what they dont anyways... thanx for ur reply :)

  • i agree if this phone had 3mega pixel camera and a slot for a card or large internal memory, the would be hardly any compitition to it

  • ya baby this phone rocks best phone it turns had when you take it out, for who, who dont get girls get this phone it will be worth it for you people lol but man this is sweet got mine today at popular electronics

  • simply the best looking phone i ever bought. its like driving the bentley, simple is that.

  • I just got it 3 days ago. oh my god what a beauty,if you are looking cell phone that shoulh have everything than go buy n95, if you want quality and prestigeand uniqless here it is luna 8600. people stop talking garbage about this phone. if you can not afford it than say it as it is.it must be nice to have quality in life specialy when the life too short to live. enjoy it who can afford it

  • When will nokia will going to make a fashion phone with good MP3 player and has memory card slot??? ofcourse with good camera also and flash. that be a truly HUGE HIT! NOKIA Please hear me. I will buy that phone if u will release a phone like thAt

  • What are you all talking about 500 $? The cheapest price i could find in Romania is 1200 EUROS.

  • What is special about Nokia 8600 Luna? Simple, it comes with a beautiful design and it certainly attracts people who have too much money!!! Which they have right and money to pay for it!!!

  • I think I better stay with my Nokia 8800 Sirocco until "Nokia Aeon" comes out!!! Bloody beautiful!!! I would certainly pay just for the design!!!

  • What is so special about this phone? Yes, it is one of those overpriced Nokia phones. Maybe its just for status but low in function.

  • Nokia has really created a classic phone this time. But the phone is a bit heavy, however that is not a big problem, howvever I think 8600 would be quite expensive.

  • Seyyedo : I like what you have posted. Direct, clear, and make senses. However, other still have their right to post of what their think,.....indeed wrong information should not be posted as it can casue lots of people confusion. I was glad that you like 8600 Luna, enjoy it. I will certainly stay with my 8800 Sirocco for a while. Good luck!!!

  • Wawwww.... its...... SIMPLY THE BEST ......even it will be expensive.

  • a very sexy phone, but it'll b very overpriced!

  • This Phone Looks A Copy Of Nokia 6233 ... Don't You Think So ?

  • a very nice looking phone. a bit heavy though. However does not support half rate.

  • for all u ppl who talk abt memory slot, 2mp camera, no 3G blaa blaa blaa...THIS PHONE IS NOT FOR U!!! get over it for god sake!!! ppl who buy this phone dont care abt the features as long as they can call and send text msgs..its not made for kids who listen to music or paly games on their handset 24/7!!!....its made for higher class ppl..its not for kids!!...if u want a good camera and expamdable memory just a N95!!! this phone is only for showing off as one of the guys said, think abt it this way a G-shock or a Rolex?! do kids buy rolex?!!..if kids start buying rolex then it wont be a casio not a ROLEX lol its not made for everyone to have it...its only made for afew ppl...only higher class ppl...thats what makes it exclusive!! i dont like seeing a kid having the same phone as mee!! i had 8800 and i just bought my 8600 3 days ago...its gorhious, stylish and classy...its simply a head turnover I LOVE IT!!!....i prefer it over my 8800 cuz it has better battery life....NICER and bigger screen....really nice buttons compared to 8800...nice themes...usb cable...but seriously props on keypad and battery life...they improved bigvtime!! the only thing i prefer in 8800 is the cut for all of u ppl who say its rubber!!...ITS NOT!!...the back is stainless steel and front if definately glass u think its heavy?!! c'mon!! get a life!! afew grams does really make a difference?!!!!...if u think its heavy its becuz its made of good materials and not cheap **s rubber!! u dont like it?!! dont complain!! get another phone!! plz think twice next time b4 posting wrong information (rubber back? wtf?!!) and stupid comments!!

  • It's just a premium class one-for showing and calling! What else ? Vertu also doesn't have extended memory but costs from 3500euro and...! Very nice phone!

  • This mobile phone will be a turnover between old 8800 and a new style of this hybrid monocromaic phones. I believe it will cost around 600.

  • is the glass scratchproof?

  • i have this phone for 2 weeks now, what can i say - its a 6300 in a new body, that is all to it and for that price - go with n95 or Sirocco or better yet wait for n82.nokia is wierd with prices,8600's top price should be $500 and not a buck more

  • The nokia have the best MOBILE PHONES in the whole world and it is so recomonded.

  • Know what you mean about "the disease", Ive had about 80 phones over the past..6 years? all of which were high-end phones [with exception of those Trium ones...:P] currently got the sirocco, great phone, turns heads and gets the odd jelous glance, but thats the whole fun of having it! Luna looks pretty cool, stil prefer the design of the sirocco though, but if you have 8800,8800s,8600 people know you got class [and a little too much spare change..lol],all because 9/10 ppl either think its too much or just cant afford it! ENJOY!

  • NICE.......

  • No expandable memory, even 6300 manages better. Shame on Nokia.

  • this phone is cool

  • the front cover for keypad what kind of material? specs says smoked glass, is it really glass or some kind of plastic? reply please.. thanks

  • The phone does exactly what it says on the tin. Its stylish and its a practical phone. No, the features of sat nav, high def camera and office sync may not be there; you know why? Cause this is a mans phone not a boys toy full of gimmicks and gadgets. The battery is not perfect either but is whats to be expected for such a robust and heavy phone, its also a massive improvement on the sirroco. Win win situation with this phone, a triumph for nokia at long last!!!!

  • Mine arrived today! It's really beautiful and the camera (although lacking a light/flash) is actually quite good despite the negative thoughts & comments from some members of this forum.

  • i got it just now is soooo cool i like it alot i think ill get another one also=)

  • Just got the phone WOW! Beautiful..feels like a $1000bucks.. only think i didn't like is the Charger feels weak, like it's gonna break off.But if your planning on gettting one Two Thumbs UP!.

  • Sam : I have no doubt that the phone works anywhere on earth!!! Other wise, the marketing focus group would be pretty limited. What I meant by a good functional phoone is the additional function on its phone. Dahhhh!!!

  • @FBF: Totally agree with you there -I owned a Nokia N95 up until last week (when I jumped in the sea with it in my pocket whilst messing around on my speed boat!) In some ways I miss it, but it was just a toy. I'd be the first to admit I'm a fone-geek, but I, and two other friends, just weren't making use of the features. I've now come to the conclusion (after maybe 10 handsets in the last 18 months) that as long is it does the basics well and the build quality is there (perhaps throw in a bit of exclusivity), you're on to a winner. I do miss wifi but then again I only ever used to play on that in bed, right after I'd just turned my desktop off because I couldn't be bothered to sit at my chair any longer! My 8600 should be arriving in the post today & I can't wait -perhaps now I'll be able to go straight to sleep after I switch my PC off at night?!!

  • 40? that's all !!! try 220 phones! I can name all of them if you like...!! now thats horrible!

  • I've had the phone for 2 days now- its absolutely PERFECT! Great build quality, excellent screen/buttons/feel, incredibly elegant- I cant imagine why anyone wouldnt want to own one. I have had 40+ phones over the past 4 years or so (its a disease i know) but I've reached the following conclusion- while Nokia might not necessarily be the best phone makers in the market, they sure as heck do a great job on their limited editions etc. Regarding this phone features, right before it i had a N95 for 2 weeks- its a toy for heaven's sake. I felt like I was back in school, moving around with a flimsy plastic phone with everything but a kitchen sink. Personally fellas, if the phone has bluetooth, decent ringtone capabilities, crystal clear talk/reception and a robust user interface thats probably all you'll ever need. Add to that something as elegant/smart- why would anyone want more? For all the enthusiasts that are into features/functions, you must admit, the 5.0 MP camera of the N95 is not like a normal digital camera's 5.0 MP, and wifi its neat, but not necessary. You really dont need internet access at your fingertips at all times.. =)) I recommend everyone buying this phone, trust me its worth it =))

  • @jingle bell tune u cant talk all day long just UP TO 3 hrs 40 mins long T.T

  • Here is a new song for Nokia Handpone ( You can use Jingle bell tune). NO-KIA, NO-KIA, NO-KIA is the best, you can call, you can talk, all day long. NO-KA, NO-KIA, N0-KIA all the way you go. Making good mobile phones, making your client glad, that is the way to go, Hey, Nokia, Nokia, Nokia is the best, no one can beat it, no one can beat it, Nokia is the best.

  • does this phone has 128mb or 1gig internal memory? i'm just confused because some forum it says it has 1gig internal memory. Please anyone can confirm whats the truth. thanks in advance.

  • nice fone nice fonu

  • look at this

  • beautiful outlook no doubt...with no interesting features in it...it's really boring to see such a cell made by the so called best in Nokia

  • Why do Nokia announced this phone without any proper adveristment , i have just reasonly sold my Sirocco to got a LG Prada , if I know Nokia would bring such a beautiful phone , I would not mistaken to sell my sirocco and will get the beautiful Luna , although the LG Prada have expandable memory , but the bluetooth is totally crap , if people really want to buy a stylish phone , get the Sirocco or the 8600 Luna , because LG are bad

  • Wow this is beautiful.....beautiful in a disasterous kind of way.....128 internal???? wap??? cmon guys slow crappy wap? nice looking phone but could have done alot more with it

  • Anyone with faulty 8600? I have 3 of them with buzzing sound. Like the speaker is blowed.

  • pure junk. How much photo + mp3 can you store in 128Mb memory? Does anyone still using 128Mb mp3 player / digital camera?

  • bought it a munth ago...and hey every one...its a big black shiny diamond....i feel different 4m ma frndz who got lgu830 and chocolate and even that lg shine...no phone can match the 8800 series....its more elegant, stylish, and bold....makes personality of the person holdin it....

  • its just the same...but the screen looks different...like the brightness and clarity of the picture...all in all its the same

  • 8600 It's beautiful. Do you like it? Now see it, feel it

  • to patrick seehnach. yea the phone will work its quad band its works everywhere in the world. Duh!

  • black beauty! for the win.

  • nothing to the 6300 guys don't rush out and buy it i work at cpw and it aint that great trust me!! :)

  • Those who purchased this phone: Does the glass has enough strength or...?

  • However, I have to say Nokia 8800 Sirocco was made with a very high quility of materials. It has been no scratch either front or back. I had Nokia 8800 Sirocco 10 out of 10 for that. If you want to buy 8600 Luna because of it looks great and it is for fashion and design, then you are on the right track. If you like a good advanced functionable phone, then many others have more to offer. Good luck, guys!!!

  • FAB phone and I got it in days of it being released....and for all those who are moaning about it.... STOP...its pointless; people who want or have this phone dont want it for its camera, its memory but for its WOW factor. Just accept that not all phones are about carrying around your PC, why can't phones be a fashion accessoryIve waited a long time for something special and now its arrived... at last :)

  • LG what ? Lg sucks big time ,I'm a big big fan of Nokia it's easy ,I have 7370 ,small memory but easy and cute. Stop complaing life is short ,just ENJOYYYYYY

  • useless no memory card no body is gonna buy this for 1400$

  • when nokia decide to announce this phone, they have their own marketing planning and targets, when u don't like it , it means u r not wat they r targeting, ppl buying is because every1 have their own taste and spendings limit , so ppl who get this fone is not stupid . ppl can spend thousands of dollar on watches and diamonds is because of style and taste.$1k is ntg

  • Great phone, anyone no where i can get themes foe it tho,

  • With so many bad/good/average reviews, keep one thing in mind everyone: Absolutely nothing can be perfect in this world, so why would one expect a perfect phone to exist!!!!! duhhhhh

  • batttery life improve a lot verry good phone i get out of the i get a week out of this phone verry good well done nokia sorting this problem out

  • i Held it in my hand and it is luxurious but i was thick, the 6300 is considered better since it is thinner

  • looks great but no memory card slot

  • just one word......beautiful

  • this phone is badass, black beauty all the way!! B B B Beauty!!!

  • This phone is a black beauty!!!!

  • nothing's new!. the new one is just expensive!!!!

  • when i saw this phone i thought wow nice. glass and metal. features were average. then i saw the price tag. wow. its not even worth it. for that price i dont care. its junk to me now. and if anyone buys it for what $800-1000 USD. your insane! and just plain retarted. i think the lg shine is better than this phone.

  • With such a size, Nokia could've improved on what they put into this. But it looks ok, myself, I'd go for the RAZR2 for the design race. But if it's quicker without all the features of the lowest N series, then I guess it's an ok design phone too. Prefer it if it were loaded to some MORE of an extent.

  • Okay, heres the lowdown - honestly, this phone is a bit pants. I got mine today, and have got to say that i am hugely disappointed. I have had, in order - an n70, an n73, a 6300, an n95 and now this 8600. So i can make a pretty informed judgement. 1st - Dont try comparing this to the Nseries. Completely different class of phone. Full Stop. 2nd - Do NOT buy this handset. Why? Buy the 6300 and save a huge amount of money. Its the same phone, only less likely to break, and easier to use. I have never been fond of slide handsets, and this is no exception. Drop it , and it WILL break. Guaranteed. Moreso than the 6300 - I dropped mine onto tarmac and it came off pretty good - only 1 small dent, hardly noticeable - I dread to think what would happen if i did the same to my luna. Also, its just not at all comfortable to use, at least not compared to the 6300. The lower part of the keypad isn't easily accessable, and there's no quick shortcut to the profile menu, unlike the 6300. Summary - 6300 8600 expandable fixed 128 easy to use not so easy robust dread to think about it (in the 8600's defence though, it does have a slightly better camera and is about 50% quicker.

  • TO Umair 3230 better then This Nah man This Phone Look's Better but 3230 has the Feautures i Still Think 8800 Sirocco is BEST !!

  • Moominneo, your point taken. I agree with you about Nokia phones or the 8xxx series and the N series anyway. I have the N80 and the last i had a Nokia before that was the Nokia Orange phone back in 1996/7. I think they are way over rated by Nokia lovers and they seem to out number Sony Ericsson lovers maybe because Nokia as a brand was here earlier but doesn't mean that their products are well advanced. In fact i think Nokia take the inside of existing phones and just make a new cover there by calling it a new phone. What is is about their naming schemes anyway???

  • did batttery life improve compared to the 8800?

  • sosyal! the design is superb...

  • not for us not for us for sure ... High Class

  • whats the point? if u want people saring yr device buy nokia & if u want to play spider man part III on yr phone then just buy SE. that's all

  • good luxurious phone for noone...... well done nokia!!!! keep it up

  • nokia is a brand for adults not for kids who need one million MB of memory If you want to watch The Lord of the Ring I II and III on your phone please people buy a Sony Ericsson and stop complaining about nokia If you want a stylish and a good made phone huy a nokia and averyone will notice that

  • WHY doesn't it have expandable memory?? Nokia phones just keep sucking! Music phones with no A2DP, A2DP phones without memory, camera phones without decent software! Do the designers know anything about what consumers actually use?

  • Absolutely Lunatic..

  • Hi all, Its quite clear that NOKIA designed this phone as a fashion accessory .. so was the case with the entire L'amour collection. i say NOKIA gives the market excellent phones ... some with numerous fuctionality and some with high end design..for people like me a sleek sexy phone which can make calls has basic features and looks great is worth my money.. for people who moan about a card slot/functionality .. shell out a few hundreds n get a SMART PHONE..stop complaining !!!!

  • Well sorry, but i speak to thousands of customers a week complaining about the freezing and stuff of the N Series and the lack of tech behind 8800's and 8600. Not just the fact we have training sessions around each big release.

  • OH my gosh nokia has done it again oh wait no i'm lying beautiful design but but no functionality I'M FROM TRINIDAD AND GOT THI S PHONE FOR A GIFT IT LOOS COOL IMPRESSES PPL BUT OH MY GOODNESS IT'S SO SLOW TO USE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE FORVER TO SMS AND TAKING PICS IS SLOW no way to freeze spontaneous moments in time btw tsts/bmobile sucks digicel rules lol those are the mobile company's in my country ha hahah ha ha ha(evil laugh)

  • It's not just his/her spelling, but they want the damn thing 'infested' rather than investing. LOL. It's all good though, right? What's working for Vodafone got to do with anything? There are some very smart techy/ non techy people who read the specs and buy phones who know better than mobile phone operators and their staff.

  • Why can't Nokia make this phone have a standby time of around 12 to 14 days with at least 6-8 hours talk? After all, you don't really want to do anything else with it. Nokia made sure of that by putting in a 2MP camera, no card slot, no Symbian (fine, i don't mind i'm no fan of Symbian), it has an organic screen apparently (OEL??? I thought these types of screens used next to no battery juice) so why is the standby time so poor??? It is also rather heavy, I know it uses quality materials and probably glass but 20-30 grams less would be sufficient. The worse culprits are the very poor standby time, otherwise i'd get this phone for calls and a Tosh G900 for PDA related stuff.

  • Only get this phone if want to look good otherwise don't bother, its a fasion accessory, think Nokia should infest fixing the N Series rather than making expensive look good pieces of *Bleep*. And i work for Vodafone and know my stuff befroe anyone argues.

  • in my opinion it is going to be just as crappy as the 8800 and 8800 sirocco. why didnty they make it a symbian phone, maybe then i wouldnt have anything to mone about.

  • to kobbe: in Romania it cost 1150 euros

  • For Steed, can you tell me how much you have paid for this phone?thank`s

  • ok i have it is here in my hand ...what to say ? ... i love it is different from and of the 8800 family is got the keypad pulising like a hart beat when is on sleep mode...i am saying u have to this phone becose of this opion but is nice to see ur key pad glowing from time to time

  • OK! so the nokia 8600 Luna looks great (although it is a 8800 Sirocco with a facelift) but where in God's name is the card slot ??? NOKIA if u read this, spend 10 dollars more one a card slot when you make a phone..you'll see the effect it has on you top of the line phones (even if they are built just to look great)

  • hi ya all ! i`ve read all the opinions all of you have written and ... i was going to buy 8800se but now i`m hesitating btw 8800se and 8600 luna ... i`m from bulgaria could s.n. tell me what`s the price of that phone in the nearest country :?

  • should only get one is you plan to use it for display purposes only.put it on the shelves,it looks great. real-life usage/purpose,nope!

  • I think dat dis Phone is suck expensive..........about 1000 USD....

  • More bantering...arg...stop complaining about the card slot christ...

  • we got it here in VietNam guys, and its worth any cents you pay... great sharp and design....

  • i think they just making it durable so they didn't make a card slot

  • This phone is going for 600-700$ on ebay. Why would I buy it when I can get an iPhone for less???!!!

  • Come On Nokia Designers!!! No Card slot??? Are you kidding? Who cares about the camera, if you are unable to expand the memory... Wrong, wrong, wrong...

  • I would like to add, i think that the 8800 sirocco is by far better than the new 8600 -The feel and most important the look is by far better - Also the 8600 feels just a little bit cheap. As the orginal 8800 feels by far classier than the 8600... AKi

  • to nokia where is your sport mobile phone for this year after nokia 5500 sport ????????????????????????????????????? .

  • crap

  • wat a phone.nokia still does magic!!!!!!now i can change my 8910i....great..fantastic,words r inadequate to describe it,hence we have to make use of imagery.wat a lovely piece.Its fabulous.I love it.I love series 40.

  • in response to the people below i would say 8600 is definitely a better phone than 8800 or sirocco.

  • i work at the carphone warehouse. just got my 8600 on a t-mobile upgrade, only had to pay 30 quid for it and its worth a lot more than that. although you dont that a memory card slot i dont think many people would be using this pphone as an mp3 player. it has 128mb built in. firstly, i think the weight of the phone will tell you its not plastic. all stainless steel. and the pulsating keypad looks really nice. second, the screen on this is really good. 16m colours. most importantly, the battery life on this is great. i got the handset in the evening yesterday, put it on the first time charge which is normally about 8-10 hrs, but after an hour the phone displayed battery full. since then i have made about 30 minutes of calls, played about 15 minutes of music on loudspeaker (which btw is really good, it has stereo speakers), and right now the phone's battery is still full, not gone down at all. the call quality is nice loud and clear. so if youre looiking for a good luxury phone definitely go for this one!

  • i have a 8800??? do ya think the 8600 would b a better fone.. i am lookin to change

  • what is the 8600 luna like? is it better than 8800 scirocco

  • i have to say that 8600 luna is really ugly compared to any 8800. i`m not a 8800 owner (currently n73 music ed), but will buy in the near future a fashion mobile. unfortunately i think that will be a stupid 8800 se.

  • stop sending false information! The 8600 has a 128mb onboard memory, not 1 GB carphone warehouse confused the stats with the 6500 classic, which has a 1GB onboard memory. This is the reason of the contreversy

  • Hi can anyone tell me if the call quality is better than the 8800 and scirocco.. ie call volume etc..thanks

  • Can someone please tell me how many messages the nokia 8600 can store, as a maximum. Thanks.

  • you work at cwh well so do i and i have one and the back is rubbery great idea can put the phone down now , and people say 8800 is better lol what a load of rubbish lol mine still has not sold lol 8600 16 million screen better batt and to say you all who like 8800 better if its that good why you not banging on about it in that forum lol your in this 8600 forum as you wish you had one lol your like a bunch of woman winging if you dont like it why you talking about it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much cos you wnt one

  • I work in carphone warehouse and i can assure you the phone is all stainless steel apart from the opaque glass keypad protector. its a beautiful phone and well worth the 600 to buy the handset

  • to quote: " its smudge resistant stainless steel" really/ well it looks like cheap plastic to me lookswise, it doesnt come anywhere near the impact the original stainless steel 8800 made 18 months ago

  • can anybody tell me does this fone comes with cradle and bluetooth handsfree like nokia 8800 sirocco?

  • its a really nice looking phone....its just really expensive.....features are ok

  • Check out the amazing review of 8600 luna.. Linked on this website:-

  • To whoever said that the back was plastice, you dont even know what you're getting into. The body is stainless still cover with matt finish powder to avoid fingerprint and smudge

  • amazing!!!

  • a good quality nokia as usual

  • its ok, bit basic though, looks nice. very heavy

  • nothing intresting with this phone

  • gsmarena are missing something! its that the fone has stereo speakers and the speakerz are very loud n clear!!

  • i went to the carphone warehouse yesterday with the intention of purchasing this phone, happy that i could replace my trusted old 8800 with something similar. WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT ! everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i didnt think it looked that 'exclusive',the smoked glass was so dark it looked like cheap plastic and the back of the phone they showed me was rubberised plastic, not stainless steel. if this phone is work the 600.00 then i am a premiership footballer earning 120,000 per week....

  • F.Y.I. This is a slide up phone! And the back of the handset is stainless steel. On the front, there is a toughened black glass keypad cover allowing the keypad to pulsate

  • I bought this handset last week from the carphone warehouse. Only negative thing I will comment on is the weight of the handset, it's quite heavy for it's size! Apart from that, I love it! A bit basic in terms of memory and camera but I don't really use these much anyway on my phone! It's a head turner! And the pulsating keypad looks amazing!! A long awaited beauty!! The Light indicator is

  • Luna is NO.1 Look at this It's so nice. I'll buy it when its avaiable

  • oh my God, This is really expensive. It's 1150 euros in Romania

  • to pimp its not obvious that its a slide and if you opens your eyes and look then it kinda looks like its a touch keypad to grow up and grow some pubes

  • wot a nice lukin phone with bad features no flash, no 3.2 camera, wots dis phone got?? its not metal its plastic, cheap plastic am a nokia fan, but dis is baad.. rather stik 2my 8310

  • To CAM: Try to click on the Pictures link, below the picture on the left. Or you can use Google to find out if this phone is a slide-up.

  • hawt fone!

  • be very sure of that it'll have the same stinless steal case just like 8600 will, 3.2 MP, a micro SD card, and a design that is create for men and the price will be arround 370 euros

  • in fact all the phone is made of plastic. The back is plastic, the front is clear plastic, the buttons are plastic. Why have I pay 700 euros for a Phone who's made of plastic?

  • what is this Nokia. It supposed to be a cheap phone, an alternative to Sirocco for the medium class. But is not. The 8800 Sirocco is so epensive just beacuse is make of expensive materials like stainless steal. This Luna isn't. The back of the phone is make of plastic. The same plastic that we can find at the back of the Nokia 6233.

  • The only good thing about this handset is the display type, its virtually the same as the exclusive 8800 range, come on nokia!!!

  • please reply is this nokia a slide up??

  • I have owned a Nokia 8800 Sirocco Black. I just think the devalopment of Nokia 8*** Serie is pretty slow. They should have made it with more upgraded functionable options, not just a nice design. Having a beautiful designed phone, not less option is not different from having a beautiful girl friend, but no brain. Ahhhh!!!

  • i like it , i like to show off so this suits me , it goes with my flash motor and my 3 other 8800's , i have 3 because i have 3 boyfriends on the go , he he shhhhhh. i also like the design because it enhances the colour in my eyes. hugs and kisses big phily g

  • what a beauty!

  • rubber back?? where do these people get there information from, and then blabber on this!! is stainless steel back, with the smoked glass front!! i have the phone, therefore your comments lead me to believe you dont!! i dont think this is out to replace the sirocco, i just think its a new model in lines with the sirocco. theres no memory card slot...unless nokia missed this out on my phone?

  • yes it has micro sd I also read

  • hmm, seems the Luna has card slot after all, or at least mobile-review says it :o

  • this phone retails for over $1000

  • Does any1 know if the Luna is there to replace the 8800 Sirrico or is it basically a cheaper version of it?!?!

  • Poor mans sirocco, LOL. Well its just the same phone but with a new casing,I would rather have this than a sirocco cuz I think it looks nicer.

  • totally spoilt it!! tryin to copy the sirocco but thts just exclusive!! also wats the rubber back all about??!!

  • hey @ kPxU about the sirocco black 8800, i just got my 8600 prototype from www.ctinyc.com it's a sweet phone the colors of the screen is amazing it's much more better then the 8800 u should upgrade it, if you want some pictures mail me, i also have the sony ericsson P1 from CTINYC.com

  • should i keep my sirocco or upgrade to this when it is available??

  • not as good as a pink l6...

  • why do people try to justify the fact these type of phones are featureless by saying they are top of the range phones?if you want a real top of the range mobile buy a vertu not a nokia like this its a contract phone that most people can obtain.

  • Wonderkid: If you open the slide on the 8600 and press Up on the navigation square, it'll activate the camera.

  • For those of you that have the 8600 ...Did they fix the volume issue on the phone? I mean is the phone louder then the 8800 or is it the same as the Sirocco? Currently I have the 8800 Sirocco in black but would like to upgrade soon!!!

  • its looks nice but i need difrant model coz u have this disine before

  • Poor mans Sirocco

  • Very snazzy looking but features are ripped off from the sony ericsson walkman edition excluding memory card facility, which sux.2 for effort nokia....

  • yes it has vibration, depends on your fingers!! i think that it is fairly easy to txt

  • Hi, just 2 questions: Does it have vibration? Is it easy to write sms with this kind of phone? Thanks a lot,

  • just got this phone yesterday, and got to say it is a really nice handset, with a light showing off the numbers like a little heartbeating is differnt...the memory is not an issue for me! they only downside for me is that it is a lil heavier than my previous phones

  • a great pro phone for me

  • Ihave just bought one and yes it is worth every Penny, very stilish, i recommend any one who likes style to have one as the down fall of this handset is with a 128mb memory and no memory card, but other than that the phone is better than the serricco, Nokia should get another 1 out like this but with memory card function 5 star from

  • see this pic it's so nice

  • it very very sexy. sight cathing view. just can not describe the beauty./

  • REVIEW: I just spent about 10 minutes playing with a working 8600 in Carphone Warehouse, UK. 1) Very well made and heavy. 2) Quite small when closed and very very ladylike. 3) Visually attractive GUI and OK screen. 4) Sim card slot is quite clever and better thought out than previous phones from other manufacturers and Nokia. Now the bad news: 5) The raised notch used to open the phone is far too close to the top of the DPAD and my hunky manly finger kept hitting it. This was not something I would get used to. 6) The menus lack any innovation or intelligence unlike SE or Samsung. You cannot simply hit a number to short cut (for example, press 4 to activate the radio). And there are various other usability flaws in the menus that show complete lack of imagination of common sense by Nokia. 7) To activate the camera, annoyingly, you have to open a folder and select the Camera option, there is no dedicated camera button. And then you have to turn the phone through 90 degrees like an SE, which I don't like. I prefer the Samsung way of just sliding and shooting. Nice and quick. SUMMARY: This is 100% a ladies phone or for the slightly smaller fashionable male with small fingers. It is not practical or sensible. It is purely sensual. I would choose the LG Prada, forthcoming 6500 Slide, an E series, one of the new SEs, a Samsung U600 or the iPhone of the 8600 anyday. All of those are far quicker to operate. Damn you Nokia! And why no memory expansion either?

  • very stylish.....

  • the design looks nice to me, but the features are poor..what's beauty without brain? only satisfaction to the eyes i guess..

  • 8800 sirocco is nicer than this one, 8600 look very cheap

  • Hai Sexy Mobil Same like a Angal Bye

  • The 8-series was allways about style and style only. Please do not expect from 8600 to be a S60 smartphone with 5MP camera, 1Gb of memory, etc. If you want a smartphone, get a smartphone and if you want style, join the 8-series. Personally, I own E60 for performance and 8910i for style. I am thinking about selling them both and buy this one, because I believe that it has everything I need. I don't need a 512MB of memory to store 5 MP3 ringtones. And to all of you, who think, that 2MP camera isn't enough: Phone-cameras will never be capable of doing sharp pictures, not even N95's 5MP. Get a Canon Ixus and compare the photo quality with N95. Surprised?

  • wrong!! the looks remains 2 years, the techical specifications go down after 6 months. look at 8850 and 8910i black. i still love them,i don't care their technical capabilities,i have n95 for this. "8"-series are for going to club,rendez-vous,opera,theatre. is for showing style,a thing that most pof you don't have at all.have you ever dress a black suite with real elegant shoes at a fine event?? you can't take a n95 then...

  • This phone is very sexy its a shame its not go more features id love to be holding one of these with the functionality of the n95,shame

  • To VODACLONE: I have to totally agree with you! I can't understand why people would spend so much money on something so plain just because it looks pretty! The look will only last for max 4 mnths and then it's outdated anyway!

  • You have got to be completely bonkers to buy a Nokia 8000 series mobile, Overpriced, Poor Spec, Bad software, Rubbish camera and No Memory!!!!! For gods sake its just a mobile phone!!! get a life there are better things to spend your money on....

  • This phone is absolutely GORJUS. I just got it 2 days ago and I cant stop looking at it. You cant compare it to any other phone its in a league of its own....

  • still the Nokia 8800 sirocco looks much better!!

  • Not bad, but the design is NOT as clean nor as classy as the 8800!

  • Looks nice and all, but I am a bit dissapointed about its performance capabilities. Considering the fact that this is supposed to be a high end Nokia phone, I would assume that this phone would have a 3+ megapixel camera at the least. However, since I have always been an avid believer that phones do not need high resolution cameras I won't count it against Nokia. The lack of a microSD slot however is quite unexcusable considering the fact that the 8600 only has 128 MBs internal M. I think it was bob that mentioned the idea of an exterior harddrive. I personally do not enjoy carrying more things than necessary, so I would never go for the idea. The thought of carrying extra equipment all for the sake of my phone is a vey big turnoff for me; cell phones are supposed to be a convience, but when you have to carry more stuff because of it, it is no longer a convience. MicroSD, in my opinion, is definitely one of the better solutions currently available to expanding your phones memory. Other than they way it looks (and it does look very nice mind you), I do not see how Nokia intended to have the 8600 compete against other companies high end handies.

  • Not even close. It ruins the 8800's image

  • Not quite as nice a 8800, but quite close.

  • Those Fascinated about this handy, like i am, should NOT buy an OTHER HANDY just because of the memory! I am from Germany, here the Nokia 8600 comes out in summer, thus it is not out yet. I have thought about how you could overcome the memory problem, and reminded myself about something i have read in the internet a while ago: The Seanet DAVE. It is a V. small that can carry up to 20 GB! It is constructed especially for handies, has an own battery and can either be connected with wlan (for other handies), bluetooth (might take away too much battery life, but like that you can keep the dave in your jacket or pocket) or by USB! the 8600 has mini usb, so you just go to a shop and buy a connection cable! Then you have a 20 GB memory, that is, in my opinion, an even better solution than a memory card! Just search google for seagate dave. It comes out in summer, at about the same time as the handy in Germany. Please tell me what you think about that idea!

  • Finally a good VIP phone by Nokia since the 8910I i was waiting for them to release an upgraded version! I will surely get this phone as soon as it hits Singapore market!!

  • No doubts one of the best looking nokias of late!!i hope to get one.

  • I have always had an 8000 series fone since the 8850 and have never wanted to use anything other than them. I'm a basic user lots of fone calls and a few texts camera and mp3 are not really top of my priority. I have a blackberry for all my work needs thus all excuses or so called flaws have no significance all I want is a handset that looks good. Not one the nearest 16 year old chav is blaring some rubbish out of its loudspeaker on the train. I went in to Carphone Warehouse Yesterday to see the handset I was pleasently surprised at how sleek and smart it is. Well in keeping with the tradition of 8000 series. The only off putting thing was the slightly tacky rubber back on it. I will definately getting mine once Vodafone range it in the UK Which hopefully should be in the next couple of months.

  • me and my best friend in the wentire universe big bad ben motorn love this phone so so much! i just want to grab it and cuddle it!!! just like i cuddle ben. we both agree that nokia rule because they made this sexy and sassy phone. peace out - - chissa

  • Smoked glass sliding cover? Please help

  • its awesome......no doubt

  • The battery should be able to last given the fact that it uses the same battery as the Nokia5700.

  • it says status available, is that wrong?

  • this phone has EVERYTHING i want in a phone.. except a memory slot.. why!! just one little microSD slot and i was sold! :(

  • The memory is NOT 1GB. The actual memory is 128Mb. Fact

  • Cool fone... talk abt more memory to this fone is useless... if u guys want more memory why don u buy other fone.. this is a luxury phone not a junk phone....

  • nokia knows what to do-if you want 3G or Media card buy N series, but if you want stile-buy 8600!

  • Dose the NOKIA 8600 have Scratch-resistant glass, like NOKIA 8800 ???

  • Video Link(Also note 8600 comes with 1GB Internal memory)

  • My housemate has just bought this phone and I have to say it is a very good looking phone, one which I would certainly upgrade to (currently have the 8800 in black and silver because I didn't like the SE!) As for the lack of upgradeable memory, this doesn't bother me, I'm still using the 8800 with it's SVGA camera and 64mb memory and this has been more than enough. I just need the phone to talk and text and occasionally take a few photos. I'm impressed, just when I think Nokia can't top the design to the 8800 and then it comes out with this! (but then I thought that with the 8890 and 8910!).

  • Lovely design!

  • forget all the rubbish and hype about there not being extra memory blah blah it is what it is!!! for all the ppl who can get past that can u please just simply post luna vs sirocco which is better and y ???

  • pJyY: i think u should get this excellent looking set, juz follow your heart then giv ur self a break and reward urself with 8600 Luna! go n get it, u may spend more but remember, anythin dat would make us happy is simply priceless! =) PS advanced happy birthday! of course ur not a fool, ur juz excited LOL =)

  • Great designs but not so great features and also its too expensive.

  • A modern phone that doesnt have even a mmc slot sucks big time... Unless otherwise the memory is 2-4GB. Darn nokia.. Their phones are so expensive despite the sucky quality.

  • whats wrong nokia?no money for memory card slots?

  • had a look at this phone ,WOW

  • This handset,is a MUST for any NOKIA lover...

  • I would first look if your running contract is with CPW. If yes, you should check if you have the complete insurance, because you could cancel your contract. The nokia 8600 is free on a 50/month deal. You get 1200min Xnet calls and 500 TXT.

  • So there's a rumour going around that nokia will be releasing a titanium grey 8600 in about 6 weeks time! Can anyone clarify this rumour??

  • OK Guys, help me out here! I really wanna buy this phone but in order for me to do so I need to cancel an existing contract, at a cost of 180 and purchase the Luna at a cost of 150. All in all, it would cost me 250+ to purchase this handset on an 18 month contract with CPW (providing I sell my old handset, which I'll not comment on out of complete embarrassment). Am I absolutely crazy??? To Justify my spending though I would say that it is my birthday next thursday and i haven't really treated myself to anythin in a long time as I'm bloody skint! But I thought to myself "hey, it's my birthday, and this would be the ideal pressie to myself, to hell with being skint, I only live once!" Am I a crazy fool? Have I even really justified my spending or should I just shut up and get a life????

  • lovely looking phone but why have Nokia let themselves down again and not put a card slot in. this phone is just a scirroco!!!

  • i would rather get a normal 8800 theres no difference except for the camera. the 8800 looks better

  • Nokia brain farted again! No memory slot, or 3G. Two very big problems I am having with my Sirocco and they have still not resolved this!

  • I don't like it it has not enough intern memory and it's to heavy!

  • price is 800$

  • Point made, exactly. People who are bashing are only jealous...what other reason could there possibly be? This phone is SEX. I just got it 2 days ago...and my god you have to see it to believe how beautiful it is!!

  • hats of to nokia for producing a truly great looking phone, to hell with the memory card and the big mega pixel camera, if you want those, then buy another phone...

  • No card slot ??!?!? :((

  • i have 6300 now, i really wanted to buy this phone but bec of no mem card i will not.....

  • was just looking through the pics and was wondering.. does anyone think this phone looks feminine?

  • No memory card would be ok if the internal memory was higher.

  • This phone does not deserve the price tag Nokias hope to get with this mobile so people might like the looks but its the memory that Nokias got wrong again you can"t dowload much or transfer music to your LUNA before it will say memory full so alot will turn there backs on this an we might get the LUNA I with a better memory lets see,Nokias wasted some money again producing this Luna an Nokia will get call LUNATICS now

  • thats one beauty i will like to by one but what its price will be????????? hope not tooooooooo costly like 8800.

  • feature phone vs luxury phone ? its just like a g-shock vs rolex .

  • compare to 8800 sirocco. this phone doesn't look more classy than 8800 sirocco.

  • So Nokia went along with their 2mp cam? Can't really complain about how other phones don't raise the bar to put 3.2 cameras in their phone now. This one was a highly expect phone, but turned out to be nothing more then just flashy material. For design, if you don't care to be impractical and you buy phones for design, this is great. But for people who want both design and features, SE and MOTO phones are the way to go now... Doesn't matter if they're over bought, that's the reason why you hate them anyway, right? Cause everyone has it? Cause they're good phones. I mean, everywhere I look, I see RAZRs and the old Nokia phones. Which one catches my eyes? Razrs do. The Nokia form factors with their Candybar and even now as I look closely, the sliders are all the same. Compare this phone to the 3220 in how it looks. Minus the sliding glass, it's fairly similar. As for RAZRs, the keypad is the same ONLY because it is very ergonomic, and it has changed over the different models as well. V3>V6>V8/9. But these two companies can't compete in how SE successfully changes their complete design with every other model, even if the features are the same, it makes the person with the older model slightly jealous.

  • This phone is so sexy looks n feels good. Also got some wicked games on it !!! check it out

  • please don't leave any comments if you don't know what you are talking about! this phone is exclusive. But it's a phone! couple years ago we didn't even have a camera on a mobile, now what?! People complaining about no memory slot?!? come on! it's a high class mobile device, not the one you buy to send "office docs" or what ever. you all sound so pathetic. you even sound jealous... i got a 8800, i'm buying that one no matter what!

  • C'mon people, stop posting untrue informations. This wiil be a cheap phone. Ok, cheap to one who consider that 450 euros is a little price. That was the idea with this phone. To be cheaper than 8800 and 8800 sirocco. The 8800 price is arround 450 - 500 euros and Sirocco cost 650 - 700 euros. This "luna" will be somewhere arround 400 - 450 euros

  • memory card is necessary unless nokia put 4GB micro drive in it. and good quality camera with atleast 3.2 mega is necessary also. Everyone know this is high class designer series but nokia DO need to put some up to date technologies if they wanna ask for that much ass kicking price. Last time, I used 8810 and 8850. everyone envy and they can't beat my phones in any aspect. I used 8800 last year and ppl still like the phone, but they start comparing with their cybershot ph, window mobile ,etc.. and my phone simply lose when come to technologies. That is the reason I am talking about and I really hope nokia will do some research and make perfect classic model next time. Otherwise, its SIMPLY NOT WORTH to buy.

  • Just 128 MB.. Unacceptable.. Nokia 6500 Series is much better

  • ladies and gentlemen the luna has landed and is available now at a carphone warehouse exclusivly for 6 weeks this phone is cool it has an organic user interface and light effect with an iconic smoked glass cover

  • Would it hurt to include a memory card slot? Anyone who says yes is just making excuses. Don't get me wrong - it's a lovely looking phone.

  • Those who are complaining about the memory slot, tell me what you would put to the phone? mp3s? photos? videos? there is no need for memory slot to this kind of fashion phone, this phone is made for those who just want a luxorius phone with calling and messaging features! There is many of them, including me. I will get this phone sooner or later

  • The phone is for looks only, if people want a phone with lots of features then they will chose a different handset. Lovely phone imo

  • Whats the OS on this phone?

  • why everyone is looking for memory card ?..c`mon buy another phone if u want a memory card this phone it`s a fashion phone part of the luxury class..it`s a very nice phone but i like more the 8800 sirocco ..

  • What Nokia doing!! Only 2MP camera and no memory card , if the phone is expensive, then do a full and all option , and what is the new in this luna , over the design ??

  • Best lookin fone ever

  • lovely design!

  • This site has more fanboys than any other cell phone site i have ever been. qq more

  • avg phone, nokia is trying to advertise this junk as the best in design and features from its reputation.its just avg phone!

  • I dunno why everyone is haggling over the lack of a memory card slot or less memory... the kinda people who would buy a Vertu or a highly priced Nokia phone with style as the top factor aren't the kinda people who would want their phones to be crammed with a lot of features which they wouldn't even use. They would rather prefer a phone that looks hot and would attract attention everytime the phone's out! ;) Most of these celebrities / style icons usually just get an expensive, showy phone for flashing on the red carpet and their PAs carry the work-horse smart phones or PDAs for them... The phone sure looks hot and the pricing makes it exclusive and that's Nokia's aim!

  • I find this phone to be very attractive. But of course if you are the type that is into heavy use of a phone for music etc..then this fashion phone certainly isn't for you. The battery life is not a problem with a car charger. Everyone complains about the battery life...are you really going to talk 3hrs straight in one session?? I seriously never had a problem with battery life, nokia is for business orientation and fashion. I would use this phone to call and some photo taking but thats about it, if you are seeking something more dont bash this phone. Get a phone that fits you. Great Design btw. Love it. Looking forward for the release.

  • To Richard: As you may have missed it in my first post, I'm not a Nokia phone fan. Personally, I just prefer SE's to nokia. (I just never really got addicted to symbian like many others, but I have used it alot and I can see why so many people like it.) However, I have large amounts of respect for any company that dominates the market so effectively, and that's nokia. They know exactly who their customers are, and they market their handsets perfectly. That's all. Sorry if all this frustrates you, but to be honest, I believe that if you were really looking to buy a phone like the luna (or a sirocco, vertu, etc.), you'd be agreeing with me. To V: I agree with your line of thinking completely. To be honest, I'm very surprised Nokia even included a camera on this one, especially because many potential buyers for such an expensive phone work in situations where cameras are not even allowed. As for the memory, it really doesn't cost very much anymore to put in 128mb instead 20mb, and if it had been 20mb, then everyone posting here would have been REALLY outraged (know what I mean?)

  • If there isnt a card slot, at least they should have a bigger internal memory.Hope nokia improves

  • To AGC: In addition to my previous comment as a counter argument to your comment that people who use this kind of fashion phone do not use any features and nokia has saved cost by not including memory card slot. Then my suggestion to Nokia is to cut down on features such as 2 megapixel camera, music playing capabilities and reduce internal memory to 20mb as it is more than enough for storing messages and for exclusive use as a phone. It would help Nokia to cut down costs further. Please note AGC this is not a personal assault on you. I am just having a healthy discussion with you so please don't take it personally. Any suggestions or comments from all people in this forum is welcome. Peace

  • To AGC: I agree with your line of thinking that Nokia have not included a memory card slot in this phone as it is a phone for the people who are filthy rich who do not care about the features but just require a phone to talk and for showing off.It is meant to keep this phone as exclusive as possible as if it did have memory card slot who wouldn't buy this phone. But also look at it from another viewpoint. In this day and age 128mb of internal memory is just not good enough. What is the use of having features such as 2 megapixel camera, music playing capabilities, A2DP (wireless headphones support) if you do not have memory to store them. So my alternative ( Just my line of thinking Who cares? ) to balance merits and demerits of this handset would have been not include a memory card slot but the internal memory should have been at least 1 gb to store decent number of images and music. Anyone agree with my line of thinking?

  • this perfect secondary phone for my 8800 sirocco gold edition....

  • the nokia with the most attracive look yet;)

  • it have 1GB internal memory like hte 6500 classic

  • It looks like my Bneq-Siemens, by the way won the If Award design last year. This Nokia is very stilish probably the best ever looking device realise by the finland maker!

  • you ppl need to read the fine print with this fone all it is,is a 6080 slide with a camera, wow nokia never seizes to amaze me how little they really have come, get a new design i say.

  • To Richard: You're missing the point. It's not about Nokia being cheap by not including a card slot or a large amount of internal memory. It's about Nokia being smart about not including overzealous features for a market sector that overwhelmingly does not use them. Millions and millions of people will make the same cost/benefit analysis and side with you and buy a motorola razr v8 etc. and thats why you see millions and millions of them...everywhere. But as you can see from the posts here, not many are willing to pay such a high price for a handset lacking said features; and there you have exclusivity. And although it is irrational to some extent from an economic standpoint, that one factor of exclusivity is enough for the Sirocco's and Luna's to sell. Nokia knows what they're doing, and what they can get away with. That's why they're so successful. (And I'm not even a Nokia fan)

  • To heavy!!!

  • haha silly GSMarena posters for bothering with the lack of a memory card slot. the majority of people who will ACTUALLY buy this phone (not just those who would comment on it on this site) do not want to fiddle with memory cards, especially tiny little memory cards like micro-sd's and m2's. sirocco and luna customers are interested in an exclusive communication device that looks intriguing and expensive. they rarely use their phone for pictures, and certainly not for music. it seems most phone sites do not understand this demographic of phone buyers very well, as everyone always points to a lack of "all in one" features on high end fashion phones. but the group concerned with these phones just don't care, and never will. so don't get too bothered with no memory card slot; might as well save time and money by not including it, when the majority of customers will not use them.

  • 700 euro? I like the design but it is to expensive for the features. Only 2mp camera

  • what the.. not even a card slot?:O iam disappointet=( I love te design ,but 128 mb is way to less..

  • heavy, no card slot, bad battery life =/

  • it's what cell phone should have been. it's design and features is ashtonishing. but like all other nokia phones, this one also has minuses. the internal memory is too small for a 2mp camera phone and it's got no external memory slot, where could we save our musics? why can't nokia for once built a perfect phone. it's a shame for an almost perfect phone like this one.

  • I wonder why they've only announced this just now, we've had them at Carphone Warehouse since Monday, horrible phones imo

  • Say what yoiu like all you Sony/Motorola/Lg whatever , but here you are looking at another winner. No need for features , functions etc... just classssss. Amen.

  • To heavy, battery life to short and why oh why, you need to hide the buttons with letters:) it's stupid, the phone doesn't get shorter, just some toy to play with. In my opinion this phone is for people who care only about the looks. Don't like it, because i know that the looks is not enough.

  • i assume theyve placed it below the sirocco

  • i have ordered this phone and cant wait for it to arrive cost me a cheap 385 soo happy :)

  • you motorola fans are just desperate to own a good high classed phone. i am not a nokia fan but i like this phone along with the samsung u600. i also like my technology thats why i prefer symbian phones like *n80* and n73 so i am not hypocryt its just that motorola is just not a good company and do not make phones that last you as long like the samsung *t809 (d820)* which is slick and built like a rock even nokias. POINT PROVEN "**" ->phones i own

  • Phone is easy on the eyes with nice curves - but in this day and age how can you justify a new prestigious phone that does not have expandable memory - 128mb is hardly enough.

  • Nokia, when will you put a card slot in ur 8x-series D:

  • Tell me one stylish Moto and I belive you. Motorola never made stylish phones. The "most stylish" terminal was the V3. A common one I say. In this time, the Nokia Phones are like jewels

  • Very beautiful phone and with some good features.I hope that it will come soon.

  • Superb handset, picked one up sim free today, far better thought out than my 8800 Sirocco, better keypad, better battery, nicer screen, non scratch, non slip cermaic coating over the stainless steel on the reverse, if your thinking about an 8800..DON'T, get this model.

  • where's the flash????

  • @ pow_saver: from where did you get this informasion about the price? I think that 79 pounds its to cheap

  • No way to cost that much. Carphone announced it at 240 euros with contract. Nokia said that it will be cheaper than 8800 and 8800 Sirocco. I think that it's price will be arround 350 - 400 euros free

  • speaker left side of phone ane on right side of phone to

  • also like it where you can use the keys like on 8850 brill

  • batt is good 900 m amp like the part where my labtop charges it ,first nokia to use no key to turn it on or off so no noise when you shake it , and the back of phone is rubbery so when i put it down it wont scratch , large speaker on side good quality , same screen as 6300 but this one is organic creates some light of its own so savea batt and best of all phone is thinner than 8800 s , 16million colour screen great

  • OMG!! this is the most gorgeous phone I've ever seen!

  • to ALL jus wan to correct it is 79.00 NOT 600 jus wan to correct it ....thx

  • 600 pounds u gotta be jokin....!!!! wud rather buy an n95 for that kinda money

  • Just a normal S40 phone, with bad video and photo, and no memory card. And so expensive ! But there always be silly people to buy it, just because it is expensive. Clever Nokia....

  • Hey Nokia, where's the MEMORY CARD SLOT. I must say that people would really be dissappointed by the absence of expandable memory, as 128 MB internal memory is too less. On the other hand, Nokia has tried to impress people with a GLASS slider... WOW!! But still there would not be too many takers just because of a glass slider, unless people do not require expandable memory or are ignorant about mem cards..

  • It's nice, but not 600 nice. It's a standard Nokia system in a very nice shell, but the 2MP camera and lack of memory card slot make it a silly price for it. You may as well get a 6300 which has all the same features and more and costs considerably less.

  • Hello, Carphone ware house (uk) have a 6 week exclusive on these, and to be honest they are fantastic in terms of looks and design. the lighting option on it is great, as teh slider is smoked glass the lights on the handset gently glow on and off, it feels heavy and solid and has a great screen. its the 8 series phone by far. not high spec but ok, based all on looks, which are stunning, picture does not do it justice as a lot of the looks are based around the smoked glass. the are 599.95 gbp sim free

  • I would like to know if Nokia anounced a price idea for this phone.thank`s

  • no 3G, no HSDPA, no mem card. this as a phone as 10 years ago in a very beautiful design.Must be crazy to buy this.

  • Guys avail in Carphone Warehouse from today and Handset only price 600/- madness

  • people are 'mugs.' How can they pay 600.00 for a phone with just a 2MP camera and no expandable memory. There are no features. Nokia love playing this game: rip off the rich toff.

  • Maybe my next phone will be 8600..

  • For a Premium Edition this phone is excellent. and much better than the 8800 and the 8800d.

  • This set looks so cool, another 8910 series?

  • Retro Nokia style, looks great

  • It looks really nice

  • Looks interesting but i would like a preview of this phone with some pictures... ;) nice concept.

  • i am the first excellent phone... come on nokia

  • Looks hot! But I wonder how much it'll cost

  • N8600 vs N8800 series = BMW 3series vs BMW 7 series. Sure!

  • Not a big of nokia 8series. Same old features, expensive - you pay more for its metal casing or smoked glass on this model.

  • made more for your image than it's functions:)

  • no doubt, this is a nice and cool phone... but why no 3G?? :(

  • hey, at least the battery last longer than the 8800 series

  • damn thats a hot phone!

  • oh and the who says 8800 s is better shape if you think that why you in this forum lol i have sirroco now in black phones crap one week old my mates buying it 190 pounds lol so not that good eh sounds like sour grapes to me

  • cool phone i love it!

  • i think nokia 8800s is better shape nokia what are you doing gone carzy

  • this is the video

  • Design is good ^*^ Features is poor!!

  • Looks amazing. I am a stripper and a promoter for nokia! So I will have this phone before any of u ho00kers! ;)
