Have had this Phone since Dec 2014, upgraded to Windows 10 when it became available and joined the insider program for early updates. This is my everyday phone. Has not put a foot wrong, has all the apps I need and nice GUI. Syncs well with my desk top computer. I'll be sad if or when it stops working and I have to go to android. Still the original battery 50% use everyday charge at night. It just works.

Cannot say enough about this phone. I am still using this after buying in 2014, same battery which lasts for at least 2 weeks, only used online for driving directions. Photographs are very clear when downloaded and printed. Easy to use too.

Still using this phone in 2019 and I'm not going to change it. Very strong battery, good call sound and reception, excellent camera for pics and video - only downside the videos are shaky because no optical stabilization. This is a very easy to use phone, I don't spend time with apps, just use it as a basic phone, all the buttons I need are on the main display easy and ready to reach, easy breezy. This is a no-nonsense phone with a great camera and battery for people who only need to make calls. By the way, no need to upgrade to Windows 10, it's just a more fancy interface but the same functions, Windows 8 is perfectly fine, really no need to upgrade. The 735 is the same phone as the 730, the difference is the 735 has wireless charging (very useful), while the 730 doesn't have wireless charging but has dual sim.

Bought this in 2015 as a "temporary" Windows phone until Microsoft released a Surface phone... Well that still hasn't happened. I've racked up years of usage with this 5-year-old budget phone, and aside from the growing feeling that W10m is a ghost town crumbling in disrepair, it still works perfectly. Definitely a solid design.

To those thinking buying any phone with WP or W10m... don't do it. The first one is dead and the other is soon to be dead in december of this year, MS will end official support to W10m so in a nutshell, all Windows Phone and W10m devices are dead OS. Buy an Android or iOS.

Had this phone since release basically, great phone for the time, too bad there's less and less app support. 5 years later i still struggle to find something with all the specs (jack, nfc, oled, no lags phone for this cheap - and ofc nobody makes removable batteries for some unexplicable reason -_- ). I just bought(SEP-2017) a refurbished Lumia 735 and really like the phone. Great battery life, QI wireless charging, good 6MP camera, screen and etc. Even with MS effectively abandoning Win10 Mobile, it's still good as a daily communications device albeit a bit limited on the app front. Still use an Android phone as my daily, but fun to own a bit of Win10 Mobile history.

Although some apps have abandoned the system (shame on them and Microsoft), I still find this phone to be useful with its fluid and simple operation. As long as Here Maps, Here Drive, Lumia Camera, Viber still works (on Windows Phone 8.1), I'm not switching to another phone yet. The size of the 735 is ideal, it's light and pocketable. The camera still takes great pictures.

Got this phone January 2015, still going strong today. The battery life is great, responsive, camera is good, even if only 6 MP(the actual maximum). I'm especially happy with the call quality - had a Lenovo, HTC and Huawei over the time - had to return them all do to bad call quality, faulty sensors, etc. There are just 2 big problems with this phone: 1. aged hardware - just 1GB of RAM, but it's not too noticeable. 2. Microsoft are doing everything to make sure no one has Windows Phone.

I've got this great phone for year and a half now. It's a real Nokia, I've dropped it multiple times on the floor, its back cover is fixed with glue, but it's still working. The display, combined with auto contrast delivers amazingly vivid colors. It's battery life with moderate usage is about 2 days. Menus and applications run smooth and never crash. Here Maps is amazingly smart and responsive. As a disappointment for me I can point out Microsoft giving up Windows Phone project and lack of some applications. Though most popular like FB, Messanger, Viber, Skype etc. are available. There's still no descent Windows 10 built for 735 as well.

The big con is still shortage of apps and unknown future for products that cant get MS update and upgrade in the future because of the shortage of memory. I personaly ordered an android which soon will be here. Cant wait.

Actually the specification for primary camera is wrong - in EU this model come's with 8MP sensor and !!!! F1.8 !!!! lens fantastic camera. And with Lumia Camera software - its realy best choice - much better than Samsung S6/S7 or Iphone 6/7 - especially in low-light performance or bad weather conditions. I use Samsung A3, but like to make photos only with my wifes Lumia 735. I Hope that HMD global will use same or better quality camera for the new Nokia's in 2017

Hi, I use this phone since one year and its upgraded to WP 10. Phone works amazing on WP10. Everything goes smooth, however the moment when u put it on charging plate is crucial. Phone seems need to be placed down relatively precisely for to access right charging from plate. If not charging plate blinks an Phone gets very warm :). Otherwise battery is excellent and the gorgeous Windows 10 software works excellent ! Phone worth its money definitely...I recommend since also back lit is changeable to other colour!

For all people experiencing performance issues after upgrading to Windows 10 Mobile (applies for other models as well): do a hard reset by going to Settings > System > About > Reset your Phone. Be sure to backup your photos, documents and everything important first, apps will need to be reinstalled, but you'll get a lot better experience.

This is a great phone, I actually got rid of my iPhone 6 to get this one because I hate iTunes so much. As long as you only use the SD card for music, photos and videos and use the internal memory for apps everything works perfectly, if you try to run apps off of the SD they don't work so well. I'll be buying the Surface phone as soon as it comes out because W10 mobile is much better than iOS.

Sure, I am pleased of the performance after the Windows 10 Update. Works perfect even with almost full 32GB SD card /4000+ photos and music on it/. To people who use SD card, better install apps on the phone, use the card for music and photos only. Not sure why but it seemed to me that the performance before the hard reset was better than after it, maybe cuz I just bought the phone and there was no need of hard reset.

If money is not the problem you should buy something with processor over 3ghz and no less than 2gb of ram..however,lumia 735 is decent phone overall..yes there is lack of apps but i can find everything i need,plus - its upgradable to windows 10 mobile.. Hi, the Lumia 735 is working smoothly on Windows 10. No great issues. Everything that worked on Win 8.1 works here. Battery life remains the same i.e many levels better than either Android or iOS! My other phones are a Galaxy Note 2 and an iPhone 6 XL. The Lumia 735 beats both phones in usability! Battery life is amazing as you can set the phone to turn off apps that run in the background. As far as I am concerned, a phone that runs out of battery is a dead phone!

But if you are just for android apps and pimping yo ROM ....galaxy j5 is a cheaper option with its powerful battey 2600mAh compared to 2400 on p8 lite if not 2200 .

Well, I keep coming back to my 735 after trying several phones both android and WP and iOS. Unbelievable battery life (android phones need a battery twice the size to do the same performance). I used my 735 versus 930/929 on a moving boat and saw little difference in OIS versus non-OIS. WP 10 is so much better than android if you don't need an app for everything you do. Mobile sites work fine for me

Just miss the simple fluid WM 10 OS, great headphone music sound, perfect Bluetooth hands free implementation. Who cares about apps. Have a tab for that. Don't understand how people overlook WP. Have this after shattering my wonderful 720. This phone is a very solid mid range Windows Phone. It hums along very nicely on 8.1. It just works. Plus with the 720p display and slightly lighter internals combined with the battery if it's bigger brothers, I easily can get a day and a half of pretty heavy use without a problem. Back camera is wonderful, usually don't even need the flash. Front shooter is good too. Only complaints? They took away the dedicated camera button and Glance screen the 720 had. But the bigger display and bumped internals do help. Dependable. Perfect size. Love it.

Wouldn't recommend this phone. It constantly acts up. For example cortana pops up randomly. The windows store is a joke I cant get most games and apps even snap chat which was very annoying. Setting up my account in order to download apps off the app store was VERY difficult it took me the first week of having this phone to work out how to make my account. The biggest I have faced with this phone is the fact that my earphones no longer work, I have tried multiple headphones so I called customer services who then told me that my apple earphones weren't compatible with my phone (even though they had worked for several months before hand). So in all personally I wouldn't buy another windows phone again after this experience but in this review I have only highlighted the bad points of the Nokia Lumia 735/730 so its up to you, to research fully before buying any phone.

When leaving my home or other wifi area my Nokia Lumia 735 often does not connect when back in a wifi area. I must reboot the phone to connect, even for my home network. This tends to be annoying and my research seems to show that it could be a Nokia phone or Windows 8.1 problem. I hope this will go away with Windows 10. If not I will return the phone.

I've had my Lumia 735 for several months now and absolutely love it. I have tried Android and iPhone and will never go back to either of them. I love how Windows Phone lets you personalize for you and set it up exactly how you want it. The photo quality is great, and I'm quite pleased with the size of the device. I'm one of those people that doesn't want to carry around a brick for a phone. I want something that is on the light side yet fully functional. The 4.7" screen is just the perfect size for looking at weather, checking email, etc. The battery lasts me a full two days with moderate use. I haven't been easy on this phone; it's been dropped a gazillion times. The screen still looks brand new, and no issues with functionality. I got the bright orange so I can always find it. The orange does not fade at all. Of course, the big beef with Windows Phone is the lack of apps, but pretty much everything I need is available right now. With the Windows 10 update coming soon and how easy MS is making it for developers to convert existing apps to Windows, I expect that you'll see every app available for Windows.

Ok, here's honest opinion from me (without fanboyism): 1. Speaker loudness and clarity is decent. It doesn't stand out in any way, but it's usable. 2.strenght of vibration is ok. You will feel it in pocket. 3. Interface... I used both iOS and Android phones. Lot of them! And I can say that this is my 4th WP (HTC 8x, Lumia 925, Lumia 930, Lumia 735). I would never go back to Android, despite it has more apps. I believe that Project Astoria, that is part of W10 development will raise WP and number of apps available. Though, many 3rd party apps on WP looks better than "originals" on other platforms. (6tag, Tubecast...). Interface is smooth and everything works great. There are some games that tends to have some hick-ups (CSR Racing, Asphalt 8), but that's not a dealbraker for me. They worked great on my 930. 735 is mid ranger... 4. It takes about 2 hrs to charge from 10% to 100%. It could be faster, but charger is 750mA. If you have 1A , it would charge it faster. 5. Battery life is above average. Better than 930 has. I have 4 mail acc on sync, WhatsApp, viber, internet, about 1hr of calls per day, about 10 SMS and it lasts about 1,5 days. But I charge it every night so I can be stresless whole day

Just got the 735 the other day. Switched to Widows phone after a few years on iPhone. Loved the iPhone but not the more recent versions of IOS. ITunes has always annoyed me. Very reasonable price for what you get. Phone features seem to work really well. I have had no problem getting the phone to accept all of the info from my old iPhone; contacts, calendar, email and so on. Although I can't stand the Metro interface on my PCs, I like it on the phone and was fairly simple to set up the way I wanted. Camera is ok but my needs for that are limited. Bluetooth works well with my Sonata. Happy to say that so far it appears that this new phone is just what I needed.

Having problems with customizing ringtones. I used a PC & dragged a bunch of sound files into Ringtone folder on Lumia 735... None of them show up on the phone. Is there a trick to this? Rename a folder? I know files are on the Lumia735, bc looking through PC windows, they are on the phone. Just when you go through the steps on the phone, none of the files show up at all. HALP!

I think it's market dependent. In Croatia they are about the same price. Maybe 730 is more expensive in markets where people buy more dual sim phones. As for problems... I have 735 and have to say that there is no single issue! Great phone for everyday usage, with above average battery life. I woul recommend it to anyone.

Well Lumia 735 is a little bit lighter (but just slightly, you will barely feel ani difference) and smaller, so I would say it fits your hand better than the 640 but even 640 feels alright in hand.

you will have to download ringtone maker from the store. Then use it on the downloaded song (it gets rid of all copyright stuff) and you will be able to set that song as your ringtone.

Am always reading posts here and people are always complaining about their handsets, been using this phone for a while and its been flawless. To be quite frank, there isn't a windows phone with better value for money than this one. Broke my screen 2 days after I bought it. -unlucky Am unable to save contacts in the SIM, - contacts save to google or microsoft account. Limitations on some apps. - app stores for different platforms have different apps. I cant save files which do not have a program to open. -its not a general usage pc. I have to have an account with Microsoft to use download apps. i confirm that this phone does have a REAL front white LED NOT and IR LED how i made it turn on? well by accident actually i wanted to test a battery life so i waited for my phone to shut down and than i would try to turn it on again and again till i could not turn it on anymore not even that short windows logo would show up than i just left the phone over the night WITHOUT charging and did the same thing next day try to turn it on until stops giving any sign of life so after 2 days of discharging i finally plugged in a charger and whoop a quite bright white led almost in the very top left corner lights up blinks few times than it continuously shined for a 5 sec and than it turned off i was so surprised i almost dropped phone on the floor LOL it scared me i have a GDR2 update just so you know maybe it does not work for a people with GDR1 ------------------------------------------------­------- and one more thing i discovered today ( unbelievable i know ) when you press side key to turn off the phone just slide UP instead of DOWN and the phone will restart :) 1AGRESSOR

The Nokia Lumia 735 is fabulous. What I especially like is the very long battery life, the windows operating system (read excel files!), the sound quality and the extreme contrast where black is really black and white is really white. The camera takes good photos but here I would like to have a little bit faster startup and possible a release button on the volume control. And of course you'll get three 735 instead of one iPhone!

this could have been a good phone but was rushed to market with lots of hardware bugs. the display is unstable and cannot consistently display white colours without changing the brightness when its not set to auto brightness. the back casing is weak, the screen was meant to be very scratch resistant scratches very easily and as always with windows phone apps are the lowest possible effort compared to the android/ios. bad bad bad

Why would you want to store contacts on your sim card when they are stored in your Microsoft account and therefore accessible on whatever device you want (laptop, tablet etc ), not just your phone? This is very helpful if you've left your phone somewhere or its run out of power. You can access files not associated with apps (eg downloads)via the Files app (can't remember if it came pre-installed, but it is a Microsoft app, so probably was). The only app I wish was on WP rather than Apple/Android is Sky Go, but I blame Sky for not writing it, not Microsoft.

Go for 638 instead 638 performance is better than this. It have 720p display with same gpu which may make it a bit lagy for games but still its better not bad the problem is in apps because they are not optimized for Windows like most popular games on Windows. But Windows own games are very fluid also its GPU is of quite standard than most Android Phones and its OS performance is better some people may feel it lagy only blame the Apps not device or OS. I have changed so many phones like Xperia X10, Lumia 920, Moto G, Lumia 630, iPhone 5C, Xperia Z Ultra and now using Galaxy S5 but Lumia is my love trust me...I'm just waiting for their flagship phone.

I needed to get a second phone. I use the android as my main phone which is on contract. I found most sim free android very expensive about £500+ then a friend suggested this nokia which only cost £140 sim free. I have to say out of the two phone I found the Nokia phone a lot better especially with the battery life and I love the windows 8.1 os. it looks so modern and very easy to use. I know the number of apps is a lot lower but your still get the populers once like Facebook, twitter etc. I now use the windows phone a lot more at home for keeping up with social networking and the sound quality is excellent. When the contract on my main android phone finishes I'm gonna sell that phone and purchase another sim free windows phone

General opinion (not only 730) : Waste. None of the lumia phones have the native support for changing the photo and video resolution like 2 MP, 6 MP, 8 MP, 320 x 240, 360p, 480p, 720p etc.

I reset factory data keep my data connection on then it restart again. When the process completed I input my Microsoft account and from then everything works well. Btw after bought my Lumia 735, became the fan of WP. AWESOME EXPERIENCE :)

I just bought this phone and I must say: I'm really happy with it! He does everything I need. Great screen, very light. Great battery time! The quad-core processor makes it really fast. I find every App in the store which I need. (Yeah, there is the eternal discussion of amount of apps.) All I can say: I don't have the feeling I'm missing something. I did buy an extra SD-card 16GB. (this is a necessity.) OneDrive works like a charm. It syncs all my documents very nicely with my other computers. Word/Excel/OneNote: all there, all perfect. I'm a happy customer. And I paid only 99 euro for this phone with the promise I stay with the same provider for at least a year, paying 15 euro a month for the services. (same as I paid before, so practically for me: nothing extra) Happy happy happy!

I own this phone for a few months and I can say it has been amazing overall! Worth mentioning: Positives: Good price for the hardware, Decent battery life, Incredible touchscreen (reliable, responsive, viewing angles are great, high PPI, color and brightness is great), Amazing video and photo quality, 4G, Planned upgrade to windows 10. Negatives: If you love listening to music on your phone and love swithing between songs this phone isn't really good for that, there are no mp3 physical dedicated buttons on the device making it annoying and slow to change songs, you will have to remove the phone from your pocket, unlock and change song on the screen. I guess I loved my blackberry curve 8520 because of that, I could easily change song by just pressing one button, without removing the device from my pocket. Navigation bar is virtual, not physical, sometimes it hides, sometimes it doesn't, it's hard to say which apps will hide your navigation bar or not. There is no physical camera shutter button. There are way more positives then there are negatives. Just look at the specs for yourself, for 200� and all those amazing specs? really good deal in my opinion...

No, there is not blueray drive built into the Lumia 735, so there is no way for it to support blueray video. But then again, most if not all phones don't have a blueray drive either.

Format it, it will work for sure, this problems you occur are verry rare in wp. I never had any problems with wp, neither my friends. Experience with lumia 520, 1020, 630, 610 and 625. So, allot of devices with no real issue like some people have, that is why am pretty sure a format will fix it, or if is hardware problem take it bakc. Still, first format it.

This Phone. No words. Superb!!! Finally upgraded from my old Nokia 5800 (6 years run, still looks new and works the same!) and gotta say, this one is incredible. Tried several phones, several androids, iphones, but once I tried this one with this new OS I was like "wooow this is epic". The phone is incredibly fast, the screen is great, deep blacks, bright colours, awesome contrast, the OS itself is incredibly customisable, very fluid and allows you to install pretty much everything on the SD card. The call quality is great, very loud and crystal clear, the body of the phone doesn't feel cheap or weak at all (lives up to the "rock solid Nokia" reputation I say!) and both cameras take awesome pictures (I had a blast playing around with a friend with the Lumia Selfie App hahahahaha). Loudspeaker isn't as good as the Stereo ones implemented on Nokia 5800 but still gives out a very clean and loud sound. Audio Quality from from the apps to the headphones is also just epic, as usual from Nokia headsets (at least my 5800's quality was also in epic-levels as well). Battery life from what I can tell, runs around 2 full days if you don't push the phone too much (this with Wi-Fi / 3G data always on!). If you turn on Airplane mode it lasts forever and ever and ever and ever! What I found really surprising about the OS itself was the integration with the services: Within minutes, after I set up all my accounts on the phone, I had all my phone, e-mail, facebook and skype contacts unified with each other and synced on the "People" section and the phone got all the contacts pictures from their facebook/skype profiles to display when receiving a call / viewing their profile, e-mail sync is great, quick and easy, the app store is super fast and full of useful apps and great games, I really don't know why people are afraid of this OS, it's just superb and incredible user friendly. I also tried Lumia 530 (got it for my sister before I got this one for me), and let me say, that phone's just as smooth and responsive, and really cheap! You just gotta try it and not be afraid really. Sorry if I seem like a "Nokia Fan Boy", I am quite impartial to brands, as well as I'm aware this phone has the Nokia Brand, but it was made by Microsoft. Overall, i'm super pleased with this phone, hope it has another long run like my precious Nokia 5800 had!

I have Lumia 735 Sim Free (Unbranded and Unlocked) and it has no re booting issues so far but I have only had it since October this year. I have spotted an issue which has only happend in the last couple of days where the sound volume can go to vibrate without notice and you then either have to turn the handset to vibrate and back up again or turn off the phone and back on again this clears the issue but plainly its a bug in the software. We need a further update of the main software soon.

Hello, I got this phone this week and what I'm experiencing is REALLY slow recharging. For example, last night I plugged the phone to the charger (that came with it) with 30% left, and 6 hours later when I woke up, it had only gone up to 86%! I also tried my L720's charger, but instead of going up, the battery level kept decreasing. Does anybody know if this is a software problem or do I have a faulty device? Well like i said I'm from the Caribbean region, so we ain't getting the 735 anytime soon.We are probably one of the last regions apart from Africa hahaha to get these devices,although we are close to America. Use a less then 1.5 GB RAM phone which has less then quad core processor then come to me. Hi. Would you please tell me what do you think it is a problem with not-removable battery? I try to decide between this phone and Sony Xperia M2 Aqua (waterproof) which also doesn't have removable battery. With Sony I like being waterproof (I do not want to pay again an assurance for water accidents). Yet, I had a Samsung galaxy 1550, one of the first Samsung smartphones (bought in 2011), and rain or some water over it in my bag didn't damage it. The mobiles I had before that Samsung were very easily damaged by water. This is my dilemma, is it this Nokia Lumia 735 so much better in more aspects than Sony aqua? And a not removable battery could be a problem? because I want to buy it for the next few years. I would also prefer windows for the case my laptop will not work and android apps for Microsoft (word, etc) won't be so good. Both cameras main and secondary are OK for me, yet, here i would have another question, in your opinion Sony's camera of 8 MB would make a big difference? I've been looking at this phone since launch, it has what it needs to be useful. Apps aren't useful since I have most of the ones I need. That's why there is the Lumia 830 which has the 10MP Rear Camera. As I said on #3, they balanced everything so that customers will have an option. It's Marketing Strategy. And if they did push the 10MP on the Rear Camera, it will likely add another $ over the price. 5. "It should have a dedicated home button like Android" Windows Phone has their dedicated "Virtual" button called the "Windows" Button which can be found in the display. Actually this is a good move to increase the screen display. Their previous models have a physical touch buttons. 6. "cannot make net calls androd and ios is better" You sure? Because AFAIK, video calling is one of Microsoft's asset and the focus of this phone. It's either you haven't tried this phone or you're a troll and a Android/Apple fanboy. 7. "What's the best? Lumia 735 or Sony Xperia C3" I'm also torn with this 2 phones :D Sony Xperia C3 has Screen Mirroring, a better battery (2500 mAh) and larger screen. Downside is Battery is Non-Removable and not sure yet if it will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop update. While Windows Lumia 735 has the latest Lumia Denim Update, a Removable Battery, Storage Expansion up to 128 GB via Micro SD Card. For me, better choose Lumia :D I've been using Android phones before when I purchased the HTC 8X Windows Phone. And I can even assure you that LG G2 and Samsung S4 can't beat the Windows Lumia 735 when it comes to performance. The only thing that Android won the hearts of many because of APPS. Windows Store only has few APPS but are usable. The only thing that I could have wished for this phone is the Screen Mirroring. It has Screen Projection but you will be required to by an accessory for it. Buy a Windows Phone and you'll know the difference. Those who commented that I have mentioned above surely haven't used a Windows Phone or considered "TROLLS". I'm still waiting for this phone to arrive here in the Philippines but I'll buy this in December until my 13th Month Pay arrives :3 Note: Sorry if I need to REPOST this, I edited some parts because there is no EDIT button. I was searching for a phone with nice camera and user friendly and battery options. I wonder when all of sudden people went to buy Moto G 2nd gen when it is released and many of them had moto g 2nd gen because of camera, big display and nice hardware specifications. But that phone never attracted me coz it was another android phone with few improvements. But when i searched a more I saw lumia 630 was best and thought to go for it and only cons i saw on this phone was 512 mb ram. So i waited for the release of another lumia phone with better improvements and I now I got those gals 730 and 735. oh gals u both are sexy and eagerly waiting for both of you on october 2014. I will choose one of you. 1 gb ram is enough for Lumia as windows run smoothly on this hardware itself where android need much more higher hardware specification to make things up. I never like lagging or hanging that I was facing in Galaxy Gt s5360 or any other new android mobiles. Nokia metro style UI is really sexy and its design was great. And also will be happy if it was released in superman version.

amoled is much better to lcd in every aspect. colors are more true, blacks are stunning(not gray as on lcd) and visibility in sunlight is much better. additionally on good phones, like galaxy s5 or all lumias, u can tune saturation and temerature to your liking.

I really hope that on a new high end windows phone microsoft will use LCD instead of horriby oversaturaded Amoled with its horrible yellow or green tone all over tha place! I also hope that it will continue releasing 6.0 inch screens because the TILE System only looks nice on 6.0 inch or larger! MICROSOFT: Don't copy samsung by ordering jinky Amoled screens and keep the Nokia's job of ordering normal IPS LCD screens! (APPLE IS USING IPS LCD for a reason!)

from your comment we can make out that you are one among those people who think that mpx is everything and not the sensor. 720 with the same 6.7 zeiss camera was a hit and the 730 and 735 has got the same camera mpx and sensor so its a hit already. before commenting get yourself educated first about the camera of nokia 720 and then you will understand that in the mid end market this is one of the best camera sensors around.
