it's funny how all of my UK friends has never seen or heard of this phone. I've used this phone for about 2-3 years, and it works great on my t-mobile network (USA). It only works on 3G in UK, and somehow, only 2.5G here in the states. Some of the cons of the phone is that its reaction is bit slow, won't store no more than 550ish messages, even when there's over 1gb of space left. Other than that, it's great and simple.

i had this phone for 8 months. unfortunately it was stolen. it has very poor sound quality. the screen is amazing and the LED lights are damn impressive! the battery slot had a problem. it also would shut down just like that. neglecting all of this, it is a wonderful phone(hehe)!

I got a crush on this the first moment I saw it. I finally managed to have it in my possession. But after 2 days I had to resell it because the screen quality is so so bad, the menu is wacky and the keypads are simply unpleasant to use. Anyway the LED lights are very cool. Too bad the phone quality is not as good as its design.

looks good on outside, but interface is really poor. its quite big- so easy to use buttons, but only for big handed ppl, plus the edges were not smooth-almost sharp, so unpleasant to hold one handed. the other thing being a music phone, yet i cant remember a phone so quiet! i used to sell them, loved the look and idea of it, but it really underachieved

well....lets just say I managed to keep 2 goin for about each for about 7 months but both alwayz freezin and when I took the chargers out it would turn my phone off and I couldn't just turn it on again I would have to take my battery out put it back in (obviously lol) and then it would turn on. Sometimes it would turn itself off when no charger was being used to interfere. It was the last straw for me when both of my charger would not work in the last cocoon at all! and they had discontinued the chargers without telling me. Not even o2 employees tend to know what phone it is. It must have got taken off the market quick. An overall good idea...but terrible phone.

I advise that no one to buy this phone. i managed to keep the phone going for just under a year but had every problem wrong with it that you can think of. the handset was replaced 3 times with the same model all having the same problems. This phone is a dud.

this is one of the best buy at $200 , stylish and cool.... for last six month s never got hang ,,,,, though used gprs on it n also with connected laptop..... quite a stable software, did nt expected that pantech can make such stable s/w... gr8 display ,,Disadv---very low call volume , the worst on any gsm phone.. call tune also need to be selected cautiosly as its speakers are low volume...... jst wish its call quality had been better:( else its best buy..

I am a new user for this xda orbit 2. Disadvantagers, 1. Signal is a big issue. In low coverage areas you will loose calls. 2.It warm up very quickly even if you talk 5-10 minutes. Advantagers. 1.Good screen & allow all the programs working well. 2. quick internet connectivity & Speed. 3.It has Good FM radio, GPS, Good quality cameras. 4.All the Internet connectivity wifi, GPRS, high speed Edge, High speed HSDPA (3G) 5.Speed is ok 6. Unbelivable Light weight & thin 7.Good & Speed wifi connectivity. 8.Touch sensitive screen is good. 9. really very good quality sound on earphone. I never hear this quality anywhere. but out speaker is not that much. 10.Really supper talking voice quality. i never heart this much of cell phone talking quality. But out speaker is not that much. To change your message tone go to profiles then select then insted of selecting a profiles you there should also be some kind of editing option it should be under this menu

my daughter has this phone o2 have had it more than her. it has just come back again and it is still faulty the O2 shop dont seem to care i would say what a pile of rubbish i am also with O2 and have experienced terrible signal strenth it used to be good i am now going to change all the phones in my house (5) some payg some contract to another provider as O2 seems to have gone down the pan

well i've had this phone for nearly a year now and man its a piece of crap, really. the battery life is bad, as in if i listen to music for half an hour the battery is nearly empty. i have had 3 new phone as the others where faulty, but on all three phone sometime i will be writing a txt and say i pressed 3 alot of the time it would input 9 or 7 instead, the camera is awful as is the video. man i can't wait to get a different phone

I bought the cocoon in february this year by march the TFT screen (interior) had broken and the fone could not be physicly used due to not being able to see the screen bad buy as it cannot be covered by insurance

It's a stunning phone but O2 have done some sloppy work when it comes to instructions etc. The volume isn't very loud but I guess it depends on your needs. Also for some reason my music tracks cut off 1 or 2 seconds before the ending which is really annoying. I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the text message tone, the manual is no help. Anyone know how to do this? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

The cocoon is a cool looking phone and at an amazing price. I have had mine for 6 months with no problems except it is so quiet you can not hear it ring even at full volume. the camera takes reasonable pictures and stores better on a memory card. The MP3 sound quality is among the best i have ever experienced on a mobile phone and by far outweighs sony w580i which i have the misfortune of owning. To sum it up I would say if the ring tones were louder i would never of changed it...so if you work somewhere noisey this is not for you but if you are office based then i would say you will not be dissapointed

take a look on the buttons at the left handside of the phones as you flip it...theres sumthing like for a lock features with a key sign...if you slide the button until you see the red dot it means the music buttons is disable...and slide it down again to enable it back...hope it helps! cheers!

oh my god, this phone has given me nothing but grief. i've never had an o2 phone before, and if the others are anything like this one then i definitely won't be getting another on when i get my upgrade. i got this phone on an upgrade and even upped my tarriff to 35 quid a month, and it's nowhere near worth it. it was amazing for the first couple of months but then it had a mind of it's own. it's saving grace is that it looks fantastic, and the blue clock on the front is really cool. i have had to send this phone back 4 times in total, and everytime it does the same things wrong and drives me insane! it plays music whenever it wants, even in the middle of the night when it's on silent and i havent pressed anything! the messaging tone doesnt work sometimes so i don't know when i've received anything. it cuts me off during phone calls, plays LOUD LOUD random songs from my mp3 when i open the phone, even if i've put the "lock" on, and at the moment it's enjoying not charging, so i spend most of my time fiddling about with wires and blowing the plug in the hope that it'll charge. the battery power is also awful, even though i charged it properly when i first got it. it freezes, crashes, and also wipes my text messages. i can't wait to be rid of it, it's driven me mad!!!!!

Had the phone since November. Biggest mistake was getting it on contract. Phone is nice to look at but to use it is diabolical. Signal comes and goes, music player holds loads of music but to hear it you need to listen carefully. The phone is tempremental and does what it wants. Cant wait for contract to end to get rid of this phone for good.

I've been usin the Cocoon for 6 months and lemme assure u tat theres nothin u're missin here.. I had a Sony Ericsson before dis and wuz amzed wid the way it performed.. and the funny bit is tat the Cocoon is waay more expensive than wat its worth ! i got bored wid it in less than 2 weeks time !! Sonia, you can buy this phone from the 02 shop the handset is �59.99 but if u pay buy cash you will have to pay an extra �20 for top up but if you pay by debit card you only have to top up �10, but if u already have an 02 sim tell them, then tell them your number then you only have to pay �59.99 thats what i did and believe me its more than worth it.

I've had this phone for a few weeks now and I absolutely LOVE the thing. With that said, the unfortunate part is that I get absolutely NO signal in my house with it, which has forced me to switch back to my previous phone. The phone gives you a nice feeling when you hold it and the menu style is attractive. My only little pet peeve is the lag time. oh! and also, I have really small hands and when texting, it is kinda hard to hold with one hand and text. At the end of the day, I still look at the phone and get a huge smile on my face. I love the thing.

I think this phone is brilliant especially with the 2gb internal memory, not only that i bought a 2gb memory card so in total i have 4gb i can store up to 1000 songs AMAZING!!!!!!! But when i bought this phone(yesterday) it comes with a instructions booklet but what use is it if theres no instructions and for a music phone it could be louder u can barely hear it. The charger isn't like any other normal chargers u have to fit it on i mean a charger is to plug in straight away not fit it. The phone is sometimes to slow like if u want to hear music it takes time too load. Those are the moans and groans from me but other then that it is really quite a good phone especially for memory, so out of ten i'll give it a 7.

I'm fine with the slow sms. But I hate the short sms tone limitation and the soft volume on both the dual speakers and earphones....... Why market it as a music phone when it can't be heard? Hate the buggy firmware, for example when you press menu it jumps to the dial menu with a digit. Or when you select profiles, it jumped to music player. If O2 can solve these problems with a firmware upgrade...

to change alarm sound, go to menu, clock and alarm, press down, set alarm to any time, then save. Then click options, wake up sound and change the alarm tone. After this turn the alarm off againa nd its done! For the Password - if you mean phone lock - try 1234 or 0000 No you can't buy any outer skins i THINK No external java software works on this phone always an error, only stuff download from o2 wap works George, plug the phone into a comp or chrger and try turning on Finally Litzi, dont use the nest when connecting to comp via usb. Therefore u can flip the screen open and choose the "music player" option so the cocoon appears on wmp Nemore questions [email protected]

I have had 3 of these phones replaced now and everyone has the same problem, it will reset itself after charging and also if i push the directional buttons on the phone it will sometimes type in numbers, i really dislke this phone!

@ george : Just used it about 2 days but I'm sure you can change the mess alerts, you can find it in profile. The only one thing I don't know how to change is alarm sound ^^ And sync this phone with WMP is very easy, I don't have any prob with it ^^ Music sound really good even not loud enough.

2 evry1 out there hu dont know how to put music on the o2 cocoon listen in. plug in the usb cable but dont worry about using the cd to install stuff only install it if yu is going to backup stuff like messages/contacts etc. Then when the found hew hardware wizard has installed evrything( only insert the cd if prompted to, if not prompted then DONT!) open windows media player, click on sync and the o2 cocoon icon shud be in the top right. if any1 has any other questions feel free to add me on msn or email me at: [email protected]

I just got this phone. Using it in the United States. I've been able to set up internet and MMS with it. Just can't figure out how to load/sync music other than bluetooth which would drain the battery. Any idea?

Ive had samsung e770 for over a year and looking for another cutesy clamshell and bought this.i was going for it wen it first come out but it was 300 pounds payg and now its only 130 pounds and it is wat i needed as u can customise it 2 bits and i love clamshells but all s/e have tripe vid record but this is qvga in mp4 with no jumpyness.It can be a bit off course wen u select an option sumtimes but a lovely mobile and different to wat all my mates hav,,bye xx

The cocoon is hsdpa enabled but subject to network availability which i am unsure of o2 in uk but what is amazing is its only 0.187 w/kg sar value.The fone does have a few quirks like jumping to the wrong action sometimes but i am loving the fone.

I have had this phone for a few weeks now. Love it but just one problem with it. It is not sending mms. Is this something I am doing wrong ? It does come up on the recipients phone thst they have received a message but does not show the picture.

had it for a month. exchanging it for a different brand of phone. won't send mms, random letters and symbols appear on screen when typing a text (only intermittent problem. screen indicates a strong signal but it refuses to connect or receive incoming calls at least 50% of the time. speaker quality average at best. battery no more than adequate at 3 days minimal usage. real shame as it is aesthetically very appealing and has some quirky features - wanted to like it but it fails to fulfill basic functions!

Hi Guys, I read one comment about Napster music. The best way to sync music to the Cocoon is in Windows Media Player, if you've got version 11 you can drag and drop music from your library onto the phone and the phone will update the music library and take across any album covers.

I've only had my cocoon for 2 days and despite being extremely annoyed that the 'user guide' that comes with it is just an advert for the phone I've already got and having to read it all in a 175 page pdf I'm quite happy so far but can anyone help me with a few things? I can't turn the open and close sounds ON. i see someone had trouble turbing them off but I can't get them on! Also are there any other themese available for the phone? My menus are all black & white (apart from the music player which has a green arrow) and the backgrounds (all 4 of them) are all a bit lame. My main prob is the open & close sounds tho - I've tried the pdf but it's so long & god knows what section they've put it in - i just can't find it! can anyone help?

I had the phone for just under a month and experienced a few problems. 1.The phone kept locking out whhen I got a text message and deleted it 2. The music player kept turning itself on 3. I couldnt switch of the annoying sound that played every time i opened or closed the flip. 4. You cannot add themes andthere are only a couple preloaded. 5. On loud speaker the sound quality was very poor. Having said all that O2 were very helpful and changing the phone was not a problem

This is almost a complete copy of a Japanese cell phone that came out more than a year ago. That was designed by a famous designer Naoto Fukasawa. The high contrast between white shell and black core is also identical... O2, please have pride not to just copy stuff.

Windows Media Player adds album art to albums by attaching the image to the actual folder. If this phone does support album art then it is moer likely you need to add the art to the ID3 tags using something like MP3 Tag which is free.

I've had the phone for about a month now, and i think its great, however i was not impressed with the battery life, when listening to allot of music, it hardly lasts a day. The ONE and only thing that i cant figure out and is really annoying me, is i cant figure out how to put album are onto it. I've tried putting the picture file in the music folder and I've even tried putting the music on with windows media player and i have the album art displaying in windows media player but it doesn't get transfered! ALSO when i connect the cocoon and access it from media player it as displayed my album art!?! witch seems to suggest it IS on it

I got this phone yesterday and I have two problems so far; every time I try to text I get "Message sending unsucessful." with no explination (i.e full signal, credit, etc) but more importantly - how on earth do you connect this thing via USB cable? Doesn't do anything once it's plugged in!

oh yeh one last thing the sound quality is amazing it sounds very low when you frist get the phone btu you can change the sound to surroud sound it's as though the phone is playing through the key pad and back of the handset also you can turn the phone up to its maximum boost of volume giving it that extra kick by using the equaliser in the music player = D kinda helps when you have a bunch of friends who listen to music you hate and you can drown it out lol in ear headphones help concentrate high sound quality...

Yeh i bought one of these phones about a week ago and i love it lol when of the best phones i have had it has everything for a great media phone its memory expands to double of an i pod Nano and it stores all of my songs i want, only problem is the keys as they are all linked closley together you can some times knock them and press something you didnt want to, besides that it's brilliant the LED display is great displays whos calling the name of that person displays what mode you have chosen when it's in the pod that comes with it turns into a clock radio when in the pod as the pod comes with an external arieal so none of that having to use your headset, you do have that option but when it's no in the docking pod. cameras good and the phone is already unlocked as most of O2's phones are already unlocked = ) i really can't wait to see what they come up with next= D

HI! I`ve bought o2 cocoon two days ago and so far no problems with that at all, very easy to use, good quality of sound and nice big buttons. do not know about the battery life yet as I have charged it fully yesterday. the LCD screen is awesome :)! Also the 2GB memory is enough to keep loads of music on the phone without buying the memory card. Just a couple of questions: 1. when the profiles: vibrate only or silent are on how to make the alarm clock sound on? as it seems like when the vibrate only mode is on,the alarm clock is vibrating only and you cannot increase its sound (do not like it - sometimes I do not want to hear the incoming calls, but I still want to hear the alarm clock in the morning :) 2. The camera is OK for me as I`m more `music` person, but when I have photos in the pictures folder and I want to view them they do not appear on the full screen, there is only like miniature of the picture and in any way I cannot make them bigger?? thats two main things that I have problems with, if anyone knows the answers, please help :). Also, I think there is no possibility of changing the theme of the phone and the menu pictures will stay in greyish. I would appreciate the help of the other users of the coccon :)

i own this phone and to be honest it's really good? 2GB internam memory, Led lights on front display, 2MP camera, etc. it's got all the qualities of a great phone, and when you actually use it you will find its nice and easy to use with no glitchy software or confusing operating systems. the phone was released on the 1st of august and i have heard that sales are going well on the handset, whats even more impresive is the people that work for o2 are singing praises about this product and actually going out to buy the handset? surely if it was bad they wouldn't even touch it?

to sync with the pc you need to plug the USB directly in the handset NOT THROUGH THE NEST IT WILL NOT WORK. once connected open the handset and a menu should appear asking what you would like to sync to. PC MUSIC PLAYER etc.... simply choose the option and the Cocoon should be then recognised and connect. hope this helps.

i work for o2 and have just been given a Cocoon to pilot/review and test. i have an XDA orbit so i was a little unsure how i was going to feel about changing to this handset but i've been blown away. it's an extremely well thought out handset with every feature you could ask for. i'm finding that the more i use it the more i'm growing to love it. ok i admit the camera isn't the best on the market but if you've that bothered about it just buy a camera! but this handset ticks all the other boxes confidentaly and stylishly! i'm becoming torn between the Orbit and Cocoon - what a dilema!!

Can anyone tell me roughly how many SMS texts the phone stores? Also can you opt out of the low battery bleep feature? I have a motorola at the moment which has an incredibly load bleep when the battery is low so you have no choice but to turn your phone off - or suffer the wrath of you work collegues! I've always had nokias previously and this battery notification is an optional feature and can be turned off.

this a warning to all those who are planning to buy o2 devices in the future! beware! I am from India. I was happy using O2 phones such as the XDA II and the Atom so I decided to go in for another. I purchased an O2 XDA Stealth on Feb 12th 2007 and had immediately regretted the decision as I started facing a hell lot of problems in the device. Almost after a month of correspondence with O2 they sent me a replacement handset. I was happy until i opened the new unit. It had the same problems and some new. Again after long talks with O2 (Mr Keanu) they sent me another replacement promising me that this would work but it did not. Naturally I was very angry and frustrated. At this stage I ahd lost all faith in the Stealth and demanded O2 to give me some other handset for all the inconvienience that I have faced . After a series of talks with O2 Singapore(Mr Keanu) I received an Atom Exec. But my problems worsened! After a couple of days the Exec "died" ie it would not charge. when the charger was connected it would show full battery and when disconnected it would switch off and not switch on for days. Highly annoyed and frustrated I began my talks again with O2 and at the same time bought the O2 Zinc. That was another error from my side as the Zinc also had problems. Its indicator LED malfunctioned and the microphone gave out static. Those were horrible times for me having two defective handsets. O2 finally agreed to replace both these handsets and they did. So I have already used 3 Stealths, 2 Atom Execs and 2 Zincs. That adds up to 7 O2 phones in about five and a half months!!! Well things dont end here. once again I am having problems with the Zinc such as the LED is malfunctioning, the speaker switches on automatically when a call is made, the speaker dies out, screen freezes..etc.. So to all those who are planning on investing their money on an O2 device please do not as the quality of O2 devices is degrading day by day and is no longer dependable as it once upon a time was. if any of you want to know bout the problems i faced in these many devices please contact me on +919884414907

Some of us at O2 are lucky enough to have these phones now, I read a post about call reception being bad, i've been using the phone for a couple of days now, and at home I get better reception than on my Nokia E65. With 8gb Micro SD cards coming out, this phone gets even better, clear crisp user interface, if people take the time to have a good play on the phone, I dont think they'd be so quick to slag it off..Great bit of kit, I think O2 might have finally got it right with this handset!

To Louie I Work 4 o2 sales and we dont stack either the flame or the atom unfortunately. the only ones we stock are the trion, graphite and orbit. As far as i am aware we do not have any plans on stocking them either at this time.

I have been told by )2 technicians who have been involved in this phone that the reception of signal etc is absolute rubbish. AND to stay clear as it only looks good but features and signal is a waste of money and time.

Sorry mate i am unable to tell you if the phone is going to be out in the philippines. The phone does not support themes but can be customized to your preffence. When the alarm sounds you can have any text you like to go across when the alarm sounds. The camera has a 2megapixel with auto focus. It is reasonable and has a flash which can be turned on and used a torch to find your things in the dark. It is user friendly just basic common knowledge is used to operate the phone. Any other questions please ask.

The phone has a basic system. not really a symbain. I have the phone. It is brilliant i have customers going wow, when they first see the hidden screen at the front of the phone brilliant. the 2gb memory is very impressive expandable up to 6gb with 4gb memory card when it is available. The phone comes with a nest (cradle) where the phone can be charged n have the radio running. the phone can be made to look like a alarm clock as the clock comes on thru out the night on the hidden led screen brilliant. If anyone wants to come and check out the phone, then please do come down to the o2 cocept store down at, "THE O2" in greenwich.

To tell u honestly, if i will be the one to rate this phone it would be like this. Design : 8.8 Features : 8.5 Performance : -.- It has a very unique design for man and woman, unisex. The features were so fabulous. I don't need Moto or Nokia for this and I think the O2 want's to adopt on how apple designs. like that.

to nE6L. it's not exactly hard to deal with select customers seeing as you can give them practically whatever they want and don't have to argue with them over a �30 billing issue. also we have lower AHT and ACW than o2 but even though we have higher call standards, we get paid less. at least we got double pay and �50 ticket master vouchers for working the party weekend. o2 cocoon looks pretty good btw and if it's not too pricey i may buy it when it's released.

The cocoon is a great phone, got all the correct feature you needs like, good camara, good music and video storage. it is genuinly a good alround phone. i demo'ed it as i work for o2. the only think that lets it down is the heavy price tag i think especially as its untested.

My understanding is that it will initially be available FOC on o2 contracts of �35+ from August in the UK; that being said, as an own bramnd handset this is liable to depreciate rapidly, but will probably stick around for a good while.

I couldn't disagree more with the guy who thinks it's rubbish, who's obviously biased against the brand for some reason. I've also had a play with this device, but I actually took the time to explore it and I'll definitely have one when it launches. The features are brilliant and it looks the business, although I'd personally welcome a black one.

having seen and played with the phone i wasn't at all impressed, its not designed very well and certainly not with the user in mind. at �300 prepay i think it is grossly over priced. the matt white finish will be difficult to maintain also. low quality camera and low storage space are set to disappoint too. all in all not much bang for your buck. i don't think this is anything of a competitor at all!!

I think this is a TRUE music phone, with its features like 3.5mm jack & 2Gb internal mem & a card slot, what else u could ask for? and i hope the sound quality is the same as the N91 or same as the ipod... & hope the price is not too high.. & If that so, this is the replacement of my ipod.. ;)

Nice design O2. The 2GB memory, memory slot, and 3.5mm slot means this is one lean mean multimedia machine. but i wonder what OS does it have. O2 usually goes for Windows. but i dont see any evidence of it here. That external LED displays freaky! fantastic fone. i've never owned an O2 device. if its not too pricy i'll go for this one...in a coupla years;-) exchanging my SE P910 for a Nokia N73:-D

Wow. This phone is awesome, and to think it comes from O2. This design is just so good. By the way the design was produced by Syntes Studio. As well as this everyone should google this phone, because you will see the phone from its profile- and wow does it look slck. The phone also comes with a a docking station and I think it can then be used as an alarm clock.
