Those who cant activate in other country since this phone was made for USA you have to download a program from HP and it will let you activate via computer is really easy just check Google for Palm activation work around or something like that. The information is out there. You can also activate via wifi with some work around. Its online look for it the phone is really good. I love it big memory, ok camera its super cheap and good quality the only problem is activation in other country but its possible and its easy.

Those with problems with APN have to change the settings to manual through the "preferences" option in the call dial screen and then put your operator settings there.

@jay: it means that you need to create a palm profile first in order to activate the phone. no,it can't be used in the philippines since this phone is a CDMA phone(doesn't have any sim card slot). hope this helps..:D

Canada student plan (1GB+My10+text+200min) will work with no additional charges on it. The Blackberry student plan will not work with this phone and the regular student plan with no data will work but you wont be able to use data (this has wifi) but you will need to download extra software to bypass signing up for a Palm account when first starting up the phone as you need data to do this.

Docomo and idea SIM's do not have data configuration on the SIm itself. So they wont work for internet. Get switched to Airtel or Vodafone. I was on docomo, got it switched to vodafone.

I am in the U.S. and i bought one of these off eBay. It is AT&T branded and not unlocked, so i set it up on a $25 per month pre-paid [GoPhone] plan. I had trouble getting past the logon screen because i had the SIM card upside-down. It goes in backward from any other phone i've used. After that, i had to add a $5 data package to the account to set up an HP user profile. Now that it is set up, it works great. I love this little phone.

You get what you pay for. I am not trolling. I genuinely liked this phone at the beginning. After a month, the back cover started to peel off. Or in some cases, the sides would widen. It is just bad manufacturing that you would need to buy more back covers. The micro-USB door to charge it feels cheap. And while I adore webOS and think it is better than iOS in alot of ways, the processor is just way too outdated in the Pixi Plus that there will be lag and even constant freezes. You will like it in the beginning because of the UI and the price you got it for. Then after seeing it lacks any good apps/games, has an outdated CPU, constant freezes, and cheap back cover, you will start having buyer's remorse. But every experience and need can be different, so you may just like it longer than I did. Just be warned again... "You get what you pay for."

Brilliant phone, can be speedy but can sometimes slow down when more then 4 or 5 applications is open. The max I can have open was 18 and then it told me too many cars were open. Screen size if just the right size for the size of the phone and it is quite clear. Brilliant phone and deserves more credit.

I bought the AT&T model for $60. Was bought second-hand, but was practically brand new out of the box. I adore webOS and probably my fav OS. I installed Preware, got Angry Birds for free, and just love the notification system and swiping to close apps. But the hardware and build quality on this thing just plain sucks! And I came from lower expectations being this is an entry-level smartphone. The back cover is peeling off and I babied it. This is a common problem for all Pixi owners. And the phone needs to reboot at least once per day or you will end up taking off the back cover to remove the battery. It has random freezes and it lags. I really love how it can download YouTube videos using a patch, but I must say, I can't recommend this phone for the long-term. Not even for a month. The back cover already peels off less than a month with it. There is a reason now that HP pulled the plug on the devices. Piss poor build quality. Love webOS, but stay away from the hardware unless we are talking about the Pre 3. Started using my BlackBerry Bold 9000 for more reliability even if that phone came out in 2008 and the browser is much poorer. The Bold is a much better backup to my iPhone 4 even though there are many things I like about webOS over the BB OS. The Pixi can't even hold up to be a backup mp3 player. What is the point of having a better OS or hardware when the phone can't function better than a 3-year old phone?

Most phones with wifi (everyone I have ever seen in my life) require a data plan. @$10.00-$20.00 per month, two year contract, that comes to $240.00-$480.00. This phone can be had unlocked for under $85 for att/t-mobile/gsm and under $50 for verizon/cdm. It is simply math. I just bought it and it seems the best value for the buck out there. I see that Palm just got bought by HP, so maybe that is why the price is so low, but under-priced in my opinion, relative to what other phones offer with like specs.

To all people who think you can cut a buck by buying this phone, watch out.. A lot of phones manufactured in the US are designed specifically for CDMA network standards in the US. Before getting the phone to India do a lot of research... Try googling the phone and check the specs.. It's a good phone to use however ALL models of the Pixi plus does not have GSM.. this phone is a piece of garbage. I bought one after my centro(best phone ever) died and I currently an on my 5th pixi. it have more software bugs then anything it will randomly call people shut itself on and off and it just trash, plus when you get it your stuck with it Palm has a 2 year none negotiable contract so they will not give you a different palm or let you switch to a whole different brand. i hate it! waste of money if you as me!

i just got this phone today. It is a great phone. The OS is just like iphone's OS. Know how to use in 5 mins. The form of the phone is small. Get this phone if you like qwerty phone. as fast as blackberry. The only thing need to improve is the camera.

Just brought this phone today from O2 for £99 on PAYG! A very good budget smartphone for the price! Despite that this is a spare handset for me, the main application that matters to me was the google maps! Hence why I brought it....not as many apps than Iphone but then again the price is MUCH cheaper! Overall a bargin! I'd definetly recommend this!

I'd recommend you get this phone so long as you don't need loads of apps. Webos 2.0 is coming to UK soon and more apps will be coming with this upgrade. The only feature not coming to this phone is flash for the browser. Despite this I think this phone is ace. Really glad I brought it. For £100 it can be beaten. Hope this helps.

Got this phone a few days ago and I'm impressed. I use an iphone 3GS as my primary device, but I really needed a second phone for work (too many emails!). Physical properties - It looks great, feels comfortable to hold and it's light. The plastic/rubber back doesn't attract fingerprints and it also keeps the phone planted on any surface. The keyboard is also very usable, I was worried about this, but it actually seems to work. Wouldn't recommend it for extensive use, but for short email and SMS its great. The speakers are good, but the camera isn't. Screen is sharp and supports multi-touch. A silence switch like the one on the iphone is always a nice touch. The magnetised cover for the micro USB charging/data port is a very nice touch. Software - webOS is amazing. Its very easy to use and looks fantastic. Don't really know what to say apart from this makes my old nokia with symbian 60 look like its ten years behind the times. Works very well with gmail, hotmail and custom accounts (imap for work). Call Quality - Really good, better than my iphone in this area (but then really making phone calls is the iphones one major weakness). Apps store - Not that many apps and this is a real shame as webos is a joy to use (second only to iOS for usability and looks, sorry both blackbery OS and Android don't have a patch on it). Performance - Its not the fastest phone, but its more stable than my old nokia (despite numerous firmware/software updates). Once an app is open it works well, but there can be a delay in opening app. Battery life is ok - lasts about a day (same as most smart phones I've seen or used - apple, HTC, Samsung, palm, etc.). If battery life is the key need then I wouldn't recommend this phone, but is uses micro USB so chargers are never find to hard. This phone cost me £100 on O2 in the UK - absolutely fantastic value for money.

Wow, you seriously know nothing do you. I havent been on GSM arena for this very reason. there are people like yourself who slate a product, knowing absolutely nothing. If you are unaware, different countries have different layouts on keyboards. GSM Arena have clearly used the Marketing picture from a European Version of the handset.

My secondary phone is a treo 650 and has been with me for the last 5 years+ and it still working fine. My primary phone now is a samsung b7610 and i would not mind to switch back to Palm if they come out with better spec phones that samsung and htc has to offer. HTC seems to be ahead of the field with a new phone that will have windows 7 run by a 1.5GHZ chip!!!

if u like the phone but think the screen is too small, get the pre plus. but there r advantages to hvin a smaller screen too advantages: 1. less resolution required which means that less processing power is needed. so it might be less laggy than a phone with a bigger screen and equal processing power 2. it allows the phone to be smaller, more pocketable 3. more apps, wallpapers... usually fit smaller screens better. stretching an image will lead to pixelation. 4. it offers just as much functionality as a regular larger display but at a cheaper cost. if ur worried about it being too small, u worrying 4 the wrong reason. i hv a neonode n2 which was v cheap. the screen size is 2.0 and its definitely 1 of the best touchscreen devices i hv ever used, in terms of its touchscreen technology. this is probably due to the fact it uses optical which is better than both resistive and capacitive. pHone
