had the previous model very similar to this minus the slow reaction which i can only attribute to the windows system.. it is slow non reactive and really frustrating.. i want my old phone back.. this phone reminds me of a first generation pc that takes a few seconds to respond to a command.. want to destroy this phone... I don't know if it is the same with all new pantech phones but i suggest that you stay away from this model.

Garbage. Owned 2 of them and neither one ever worked right. OK design and features, but the reception is weak, it randomly drops calls like no other phone I've ever had. Also tends to not receive calls at all at times, despite the fact its showing full bars. Discontinued for a reason.

I think the Pantech phones are simply the worst phones to ever come out. I have not met one person that hasn't had one problem or another with their Pantech. The Pursuit seems to be the model with the most issues - freezing, can't turn it on, host of various problems. Everyone I spoke to said the same thing - they were told it was due to moisture. I do not have one indicator on my phone that shows pink, but ATT still insists its water damage. Perhaps it's just that Pantech is an extremely unreliable device and should be put out of circulation!

i've had this phone for years my iphone got stolen from some dope ho... so im disecting all my phones to find one that works it wont even charge. i might need a new battery but even with the charger inside the phone shouldnt it be able to turn on? and another question u plug in the charger at the bottom on the phone not the top right?

i had this phone, when i was 14.. its annoying, i hated it. i wouldnt recommend this phone to anybody....the key pad is too small the colors start to turn solorized and the screen blinks and it take like 20 mins to turn on...

I have a duo. At first I really liked it but the screen freezes a little from time to time,and the chargers break so freakin bad!!! I am currently looking for my 3rd and hopefully final charger and I am very careful with it every time, the chargers are just made cheap.

I got this phone a year ago and it worked pretty well in the beginning. I had a sony ericsson before it and i Loved this phone. A couple months in it starts to freeze and take forever for the screen to transition from one to the other. I didn't really pay any mind to it. then shortly after the camera stopped working and i had to turn it on and back off. also doing this it would erase my messages up to a certain date. A really cool thing about it is that the text form thing is in "conversation" so it's kind of like a really big IM conversation. Bottom Line::: The phone freezes like no freaking tomorrow; the camera sucks; its SLOW; the memory is terrible; the screen transitions suck. I would not buy this phone!!!!

Yeah, just use it normally the pos will break on its own...under warranty I am now going to be on my 3rd phone..First phone: screen failed without reason, Second phone: certain keys on the keyboard failed as well as the #2 and #9 keypads for dailing numbers as well as a crap-load of dust behind the screen. I bought a brand new Pantech Duo about 4 months ago for around $450. And it's crap now. When I push the slider back and forth, it does the opposite direction and it takes forever for it to load anything. It's really light which makes it prone to break easier.

all u have to do is go to my stuff then menu then storage card then highlight the on eu want and edit then copy and go back to my documents and paste it under ringtones and then after u do that go to settings, sounds, then scrool thru ring tones till u find the name of the 1 u want the only thing i dont like is u cant set a txt tone so i got a quickfire ppl complain ab these phones breaking and iv dropped mine on everything and mine also went thru a house fire and a ire hose and all i had to do was buy a new charger and battery but the battery before still works ohh and be carefull with the chargers cause they break very very easy hope this was helpfull

I wouldn't get this phone. It's really slow. All the time it won't let you send or recieve messages. It's Slow! I really wouldn't get this phone. Mine messes up so bad that it sometimes says that i don't have my SIM card in it! Hope i helped.

If you liked the Duo, then you will maybe like the Matrix Pro C810. The Matrix C810 is like the Duo but it doesnt freez like it. There is also a dedacated camera button on the side & the OS is Windows 6 instead of the other windows. They both have no wifi but im sure you know that. But if you dont want another smart phone, then you should go with the other one which is the Pantech Matrix C740. I actually own this phone & it haven't given me any problems yet. Either one you get, they are both great phones.

I love this phone. It's size is perfect in my hand. not too wide or flimsy like I might break it accidentally. It even survived two car crashes. Once flew out the window and hit a rock. The sound quality was what sold it for me though. I love how loud and clear it is even on a headset. I believe its still the only good dual slider phone out there.

I have the EXACT same problem. I didn't have any problems with my phone until about 2 months ago with AT&T updated their 3G network. Now when I'm at work...my phone doesn't work. I can't receive or send calls or texts, but only when I'm at work. When I'm home, it works just fine. AT&T can't figure it out and I can't figure out how to get off the 3G network and just go with the EDGE network because that's when it seems to actually work.

hi, i have been researching this phone for awhile and noticed a few people inferred that you need a unlimited data plan like the one the iphone requires. if i buy it used off ebay and just put in my at&t sim card will i still need a unlimited data plan? i dont want to spend the $30 a month..

This is an amazing phone! It is no huge, a little bulky, but remember it is a double slider smartphone. With the Windows Mobile 6.0 OS one can put on it hundreds of apps, liks games or ebook readers. The dual slider works fine, and with the Qwerty keyboard one can write a lot of text: I make my homework on this device. The camera it is just OK, the bluetooth with A2DP gives you a good stereo experience, and the media player makes the job. The batery life it is good for me: I charge it every two days. My conclusion is that this Pantech device worth every penny, because it is a good Windows Mobile Smartphone.

I've had this phone for almost 6 mos and I dropped it on hard ground ONCE and now the screen is wiped out! I used to think it was an ok phone until I noticed my calls drop everywhere and I get no reception even where there are towers! I can't hear very well on this phone even after increasing the volume and the applications are slow to respond. (no, I don't have a lot of apps on my phone)Many times, my phone freezes up while I'm texting and I have to turn it off to reset. When I reset, the message from the past are all erased and even the ones I saved in a folder are gone! What the heck?? I want a better phone. Folks, I researched a lot before getting this phone...and now I regretted my decision.

I've had the duo since March 2008 and hadn't had any problems with it until a month ago now I get babrely any service where I work and I know it's not a problem with AT&T because other people w/ AT&T aren't having any problems with their service. I bought this phone b/c I'm one of those people who texts and IM's constantly for one b/c its much more convienent at work but now that I get no reception it seems to just be a waste! Had same problem with communication error on my other phone. It's from not turning it off enough for updates. Try turning it off for a little while (like overnight). If that doesn't work, you have to call AT&T to fix it on their end. Hope that helps.

I have had my phone since February...well actually I am on my 3rd phone! Yes I have gone back because of a problem and ended up having to get a whole new phone twice. Now my 3rd phone still does not work! I do not feel this is a good phone...not worth the money or the time. Several of my keys no longer work...it sends randome blank texts. They said I got it wet...but it never got wet. I am a stay at home mom and we are inside most of the time. It is not subjected to the elements much. My husband has the same phone and he has problems out of his as well. He is on his second phone since February and dealing with problems as well. I say not worth it...nice phone, nice idea...technology in the phone just does not work correctly.

This is a great idea for a phone, but...the Duo feels very cheap and flimsy. The horizontal slider in particular feels very loose. There is a few seconds delay when switching from portrait to landscape display, but that's not that big of a deal. The keyboard is also not that comfortable to use, since the keys are flush with the seurface. On the plus side, the display is rather nice, and the overall speed of the OS is good.

First the positives. I loved the size and feel. The features were great-it really does allot. Now the problem, this is first and foremost a phone, and that is where it comes up short. The reception on this phone is terrible. I do live off the beaten path, however, I have a Nokia 6555, a razr, an older Nokia, LG and a Samsung 497. The Duo has the worst reception of them all. I have to wonder if mine was simply a dud or something. I work near Chicago and even there the reception was terrible. I just sent the phone back, thank goodness for AT&T's 30 day trial period.

Wow this phone is ridiculously annoying. Or maybe its the network. I would not recommend - I have to spend literally about twenty minutes waiting for a split second when the 3G turns into a G or E, then I can make calls and send texts. Everything else, I get rejected immediately even if I have full reception. What a bunch of bulls**t - this is completely unacceptable and moves beyond simply inconveniencing me - it�s actually f***ing up my life. Do not buy.

The phone is great when you get it but it like PC the more stuff you have or put in the slower it react. Some time it lock on me have to reboot it by turning the phone off and it take long time to pull up the camera. Battery life I got this phone for two mount and I have to charge it evry day, but the texhing is good on this phone.

Crap phone. The design is nice, but the windows mobile system lags ALOT when doing simple things like deleting message, changing screens, opening messages and on top of that the signal is horrible. I live dead center of Boston and get MAYBE one bar if I stand on a chair on my apartment. I'm currently looking for a new phone...

This phone is both good and bad (mostly good). The battery sometimes lasts days and other times just hours. This seems to happen because the phone hunts between the Edge and 3G network. I live at the edge of the 3G network. I've had this problem on several phones. When it hunts or is busy switching between the the two it wastes power. One thing I really wish they would have done is for the keys on the keyboard to be a less flat. I find that have some trouble with the keys but for the most part I can use it. I'm not much of a texter but I can do quite well with it.

The battery does not hold the charge. Initially it held it for 4 days with about 30 mins talk a day and stand-by times. Now I have to charge every two days.

I've never had a phone like a black berry or smart phone and i was just wondering a little how they work like. I like how you can set the soft keys on other phones to like text messages and contacts and such can you do that with this phone becuase i dont want to have to go threw the whole menu just to send a text messgae.... This phone has great appeal. Pantech did a great job with the dual sliding features. Great job on the quadband. Great job also on the OS. This phone is really impressive. Would have like to seen 802.11 wireless capabilities. Possible FM, GPS or Dual cam. I'm still impressed though. Three cheers.....

This phone is very good.It isn't as big it looks.The Display is awesome,its big,clear and has nice color.I Would have to say its pretty Durable which fits my lifestyle because im always dropping my phone.Also,It is much easier to work than you may think,I Went to a store and played with the sample and figured out the basics of the phone in like 5 minutes(Calling,Texting,Adding contacts,changing ring style,keypad functions and basic phone navigation.The Only downside is that when sliding the phone to reveal the QWERTY keypad,sometimes the standard keypad kind of comes loose..But Overall I give this phone a 9 out of 10!Good Job Pantech!

Omg. I love this phone. I have it in red and its amazing. I got it for around 200. Im obsessed with texting and this is a great phone for the txtin addicts and the business people. The only negative thing I can think of is the screen freezes every once in a while when switchin keyboards but its only for like a scond or two. Its amazing and very durable. Ive dropped mine so many times and I even dropped it in soda, and I had no problems as of yet. I would definately recommend this phone to anyone.

Three cheers for this company. It is a very good introduction product to the current market. For those of us who know, there needs to be some improvements made. this device is unique in his design and complete, comparing with all the other in this site, because its dual slide with big display and and it rocks , only a few things the company need to fiks, ex.to get touch screen. and 3G, and it'll be the king, but depends on company's ideas if they compare it with the other devices who are most popular, and they doesent have this ability like DUO. i just got this phone and i have to say i am pretty happy with it. the speaker in wich you listen with sounds crappy but, it might just need to be replaced. the color and features are rich and the price is pretty good for what you get. being a windows phone, does anyone know or have any ideas of any cool tricks or programs for this?

i think it isn't worth your money. they stole the design from helio's ocean. the plastic next 2 the screen is VERY cheap and the keyboard is flimsy. ITS NOT WORTH IT !!! IT LOOKS GOOD BUT IN MY OPINION IT SUCKS!! its not worth paying 200 4 this phone
