Philips F718 - User Reviews

  • can you fit telecom new zealand sim cards in this phone??

  • Guys, regardless of who the actual holder of the license to manufacture philips branded phones, the bottom line, to me at least,is that the current phones today are nothing compared the phones it manufactured prior to the xenium 960-the last true philips phone. the interface of the 9@9w that i still have is hauntingly close to an alcatel otc825, from the typeface, to the features (like the graphic equalizer)...leading me to believe that this, alcatel and all the other china made phones seem to come out from one single factory...

  • Wrong again mister again!! Part 2! What you said i already did before! Philpis sold their business to China for 5 years in 2007.China may use Philips name until 2012.Now 100% are maded in China only brand still is Philips. You are no so smart mister!

  • excuse me you are wrong! obviously you do not know the story! in 2007 the company that produce philips (80%philips 20%CEC born in 1996)was selt to CEC! you can find the complete history here: From its roots as a local joint venture majority-owned by Dutch manufacturing giant Philips, SED has propelled itself to the forefront of the mobile phone business in China. The companys history is briefly chronicled below: October 1996 Philips & SED Consumer Communications was formed, with Royal Philips Electronics taking a lions share of 90 per cent and Shenzhen SED Industry holding a 10 per cent stake. July 2001 - Became the sole manufacturing base of Philips global mobile phones. December 2001 - Philips transferred 65 per cent stake to Shenzhen SED Industry and the JV was renamed Shenzhen Sang Fei Consumer Communications. July 2005 - SED entered into an Exclusive Agency Agreement with Philips, consolidating its position as one of the top 30 key suppliers to Philips a year later. February 2007 - CEC officially acquired the Philips global mobile phone business and Sang Fei initiated the business takeover two months later. August 2007 - Sang Fei signed agreements with Philips for trademark license and intellectual property transfers, and took over business operations.

  • wrong mister! Philips sold their business to china company in 2007 so they no longer made cellphones! Philips are 100% Made in China products and low quality!

  • Is not correct says that philips cell are chinese! Philips has been contracting the production of phones(15 years ago) to its former joint venture with CEC 20%and philips80%. CEC bought this joint venture and the right to use the Philips and xenium brand over the next five years! Now this jointventure philips/cec continue to make philips cell like before!

  • as i remember, philips does not make phones... they sold their mobile phones business couple years ago to chinese firm. So chinese can use philips logo for their phones for some years.

  • Looks good!

  • Good one from Phillips

  • another very beautiful cell by philips!
