i have a cx65 fully mounted in by car. in australia we have upgraded to levels 3 and 4 as regards coverage. this phone is restricted to level 2.can it be upgraded,sold or thrown away.

Use the cable I suffered this problem in 2006 I used SiMoCoSetup228 software "win Xp and below" I had to open the socket of the cable and move one of the middle wires to the next pin from inside in order to work

This was my very first EVER mobile phone.I bought it for £100 way back in the beginning of January 2005. I loved this phone in It's prime, especially with it being my 1st EVER mobile, and I still have it now! Although, I've been having problems with the battery constantly running out, like It's ran out of juice and had It's day unfortunately. :'( I'm currently on my 5th phone which is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S which I bought for £199.95 on Feb, 3rd, 2012.I bought the Siemens CX65 from The Carphone Warehouse back in Jan 05. The shop I bought it from closed down.

I still have one i bought in December 18th, 2004. It went dead before 2006 was over, but since it had a 2 year warranty, Benq,open it up took everything out, put a completely new set inside, leaving only the old exterior, and it has been working great ever since, going on 6 years since i bought it. Too bad Siemens close down it's cell division, it was the only one that give Nokia a run for it's money. Maybe someday they'll return...

Great little phone, it's been going strong for the past 4 years, but it's finally getting to the stage where it's turning off by itself =( I will be sad to see it go. I've had to gaffer tape the back on, and it's only down-fall for me is the fact it doesn't have bluetooth, but apart from that it is a fab phone =)

In the beginning, i had to change my cx65 model about 5 times before i got perfectly working one and now it is working well about 3,5 years without problems. Only problem is battery but i found one shop, where i can buy it. Like it because its flexible operation system. Unfortunately Siemens phones had gone :/.

I got this phone of my friend as a suplly phone due to having my old one stolen, and after about 1 week a problem occured, the slightest touch on the camera it turns it self off, i then thought i need a new phone so i got a d600!!

in one day when i set a colour scheme in my CX65, it switched off by himself for along time.I cannot switch it on so far - it shows without any light only one line on screen, which disapears later. I think my phone is broken. Who knows how to fix it please tell me!

i had this phone 3.5 years ago. From the beginning it often crashed during video recording, long sms writing and files browsing. after using it for a 6 months, i gave it to my mom. She's satisfied with this phone, it doesn't crash, because she doesn't use the most of it's features LOL

i have this phone for 3yr now. I like it. The talking qual is very good. No talking disfu**tion like other phones. I mostly like flashing light when you miss call or have new sms. Good LCD visability in direct sun light. And in screensaver mode you can press 11 or other buttons and the light comes on for 1min so you can light your way home :D

Software version is very important so the phone could work properly, shutdowns, slow downs, maybe it happens because you have low SV, mine with SV 50 doesn't cause any problem

i m using cx65 from one year. I found some problems. Battery problem is a big problem. Battery end with in 6 or 7 hours. Other problem is that some time set is hanged. When i use wap, its open only yahoo page. When i log in in yahoo or messenger then it take many time and also not connected. Some time when i on my set it shutdown very quickly.

I have had my CX65 over 3 years. I love this phone. I am sorry to hear Siemens will no longer be making them. The menu design & ease of use if brilliant (I have found the others makers cumbersome). Good - Flashing light, vibrate (various), Menu layout/options, Big Screen, Ease of texting Bad - Can be a little slow sometimes, Lack of Bluetooth Really I would love to have this phone with increased speed, increased memory, bluetooth, higher spec camera and maybe some music options!

My first cellphone was siemens A40, then A35, then Nokia 3310 (the famous one), then Ericsson E39i, then siemens c65, and now I have siemens cx65. It's really a great phone. It's like a new version of NOKIA3310 (meaning it's INDESTRUCTABLE!). Maybe if I get the Panasonic P900i (wich is not available for outside Japan :S) I'll change this one

just like what the others said the phone really,really great. the phone memory seems to be limitless. i've got the phone from my aunt in norway. the sad thing is my network here in the philippines which is globe doesn't have the configuration to activate the gprs and the mms of the said phone also i have one qiestion, at times the phone just tend to shut down automatically while i am using it,though, i deactivated its auto shutdown. i don't have the manual and if i would have it maybe it's not translated in the english language. please help me for this worry. more power to siemens mobile phones!!! take care guys... :)

I only want to say that this phone is great! I have it for three years from now, it's working without problems. Only bad thing is that they don't have MP3, but all the rest is excellent. I love this phone very much, and I get so sad even when I thing of replacing it.

You can delete the Default applications, and games, by going to Menu>Setup>Phone Setup>Memory Assistant>Java>jam>Applications or Games>Press the left soft key to delete the folder with the name of game or application.

Im considering buying one of these to replace my CV65, which has a few age-related issues. The seller says it has a problem with intermittently turning off, with the screen turning blue (I had the same problem with my old C60) but it looks like its got some good features. TO: DDD You can't remove any aplication that's comes with the phone, are blocked :-D (Only formating the phone.... but i don't recomend that, the phone after this is useless, and you have to reinstall the firmware (With all the aplications..., returning to the same place...)) Only if you install a new ones, that are the only you can remove.... (Options -> Delete) Maybe is security since it was built

I am having this handset for the last six months, but for the last couple of weeks, my battery backup has reduced drastically. moreover, now i am unable to receive any incoming calls. With the problem of video.... it's due to memory, remember the software sometimes is inestable, so i recomend format and reinstall, but before back up :-D But if you don't know how to do it, back up and go with your distributor, maybe will charge you some $$$ but is safe, and if you are inside of your warranty will free ;-) I have the same problems sometime so don't worry, i understand you :-D

I got this for 2 years and still alive. I can charge the battery in less of 1 hour and the duration is excelent! If you want to tranfers your content multimedia there are other options like IrDa, MMS, no necessary BT. This phone is the more flexible in content in the market, images, documents html, tones, java games, and is true the vga camera is the best in the markets. 11mb on board memory maybe not to much for this days but i prefer this phone to the V3, this phone has much more functions and have a low cost ;-) Good for siemens :-D And if you want content multimedia even the har to find themes go to: Zedge.net Sure you'll find what your looking and for all the phones in the market! :-D

I have had this phone (CX65)for 18 months now. I am going to change it for a Siemens AF51. Reasons? The CX65 is too big, has a big display which I do never use, has a camera which I do never use (what do you do with the pictures aniway? you have to buy a USB cable to transfer them to your computer, and then you realize that they are low quality pictures which can not compare with the pictures of a digital camera.. same for the videoclips). It is not at all good looking. Why do I choose AF51? It SMALL, good looking, and cheap... (you can have it for 49 euros). It's a classical phone, with no features. Features where invented to make you pay a lot of money for things you don't need. A phone is a phone, to talk with it. �Do you really go to Internet with your phone? It's expensive, slow... A computer does that much better. This is my opinion. What do you think?

Hey people, people!!!!! Do not complain!!! This is one of the best mobile phones ever!!!! I've had it for over 2 years now, and don't even thenk about changing it!!!! Now about YOUR problem. It's very simple. the camera records MAX 30sec video clip, but if you are running out of memory, it will automaticly lower the duration of the record. While for the voice recording, you can record until you run out of memory. Underztood?

I have had this phone for nearly a year now. The one problem I had right from the start is that it just turns off whenever it wants. But it has fallen many times now, been covered in beer, and for 2 days I couldnt turn it on at all.. but it came back to life by itself and now going fine, except for annoyin breaks when it wants to turn off for a few seconds.. But I like it, and for the price that I bought it, I don't have much to complain. Great pics and video too

ull can listen to the mp3 songs by converting them into anyother format, the best one being 3gp cause u get a full clear mp3 song for the cost of only 400 to 450kilobytes from ur celll! the only thing that cant be done is that u cant sewt that song as a ringtone but thats no big issue as wav format!!! i love this fone and miss it a lootttt :( as it is stolen!!!:(

I was the user of this phone for 13 months (software version 50).The assembly quality is not to high, but it is acceptable.The software is not sa stable as it should be.The phone used to hang while trying to send sms (aproximetely once a week).It used to switch itself of during wap session (rerely).In spite of these disadvantages the menu is very good!It is easy to use and it has plenty of interesting functions (some of them are even better than in Nokia)!!!So, if the hangs and restarts of this mobile phone will not bother You, buy it!!!

this is a great phone, lots of memory , great camera, large display.even it doesn't have mp3 suport, u can convert from mp3 to wav (use ufony) and problem solved. the ONLY bad thing i could say it's about batery life which it's not great , 3 days with 15 min of talking every day.

Hey, I use USB data cable and have no problems with that. Sorry, can't help much, but I guess your computer doesn't recognize your phone. It should be fixed by reinstalling drivers. Does anyone know how to add an language to this phone? As i already said, i bought this phone used and it has English and a bunch of asian countries languages which i don't understand... I bought this phone used last week. All i can say that it's a great phone, and if you want something good and cheap - take it! Picture quallity is pretty good compared to Siemens S65 even though they have different resolutions (S65 - 1.3MP). The phone can play low quallity wav, amr, mid and 3gp. The best solution to placeing everything in your phone is to get a data cable (just like i did). You can convert mp3 to amr OR mpg to 3gp on your PC and sent it to your mobile (yes, i can watch my favourite video clips while staring on my cellphone screen!). I guess there are better phones than this one... but man, the price!

Here are my notes: - not so expensive (around PhP 10,000 or USD $175 here in the Philippines) - no mp3 ringtones (just polyphonic and probably low-quality wav) - around 10.5MB internal memory - around 5.3MB internal memory free - you can use built-in "memory assist" tool to clean up unneeded files like the animated wallpapers/pictures that come with the phone (around 2.3MB) - the "dynamic lighting" feature is basically two small white LEDs at the top corners of the phone blinking in several irritating patterns (good thing you can turn them off) - small and light with relatively large screen (40% front area of the phone) - GPRS & MMS & Web/WAP capable - Java Apps

this phone is very good phone for this price. i have this phone for 6 month with fw 25. only battery cover is flyaway and in iran i dont find new cover(it is clip it cover). for new wallpaper, theme, game ... go to siemens mobile site then click download&application. other site are www.cx65.de and but in iran we have not wap for new game and application and ..., i only download new wallpaper, theme and send it to phone via irda. about battery life i select analog clock for screensaver,50% illumination,off dynamic light,off fast search of network and ofcorse off irda and i use it for 3 to 6 day without need to charge of battery. i hope my text was usful for you. reza

Hi everyone! I just recently bought bought a CX65 and generally I am satisfied with it. I have just one problem... The battery could last longer!!! I mean 1 day is very bad!! Ok. I have the phone just since 2 days but after I bought it charged the battery for 14 h's like it was told me, and I had the surprise that it did not lasted more then 26 h's. I mean it is pretty weak. And I do not now why day say that the standby time can be up to 250-300 h. It is a lie. But wat can I say. Generally it is ok. Hi, Allen I dont know what's wrong with your CX65 phone. But this phone doesn't have any problem. I'm using this for past 4-5 months, still I didn't get any problme. You don't want recharge the battery everyday unless you are in week signal area or play games. Screen quality and sound also good at this price. if you want more quality you can go for 3G phone (Nokia, Samsung, LG or Siemens)but then you have to spend more.

Hi everybody...I've got a little problem with this phone, well maybe it's not a problem at all but it still bothers me. When the screensaver-analog clock activates, there's a stripe appearing diagonally across the screen approximately 1 cm wide, consisting of slightly darker dots...also the clock circle at that time is full, consisting of many little dots... After a few moments the stripe disappears and at the same time the clock reduces it's full circle only to every-fifth-minute larger dots, as I think it's supposed to look like. I went to Siemens technical support center and they first told me that it's probably due to older SW version which is 12 in my case, but later they reconsidered and told me that it's not an error at all, it's just designed that way... Has anybody else noticed that problem, or am I just being paranoic a bit since it's my brand new mobile phone?

oh yeah, one last thing, the maximum the battery will last is 3 days,due to the amount of power the screen needs. If you want to maximise battery, turn off any animated backrounds or screensavers and avoid playing games or running java applications. :-)

Ok guys, been reading through some of the posts, so I hope this will answer your questions. Firstly, CX65 does not support MP3 files, at all!! It also doesn�t support WAV files, only MIDI files. Secondly, it�s not possible to turn off the sound when recording a video. Thirdly, to deactivate GPRS, go menu � settings � connectivity � select GPRS and it will ask you �deactivate GPRS?� and you just say yes. On a further note, you DO NOT get charged for GPRS by merely being connected, you get charged for the data you download. Fourthly, it is not possible to deactivate the logo, but it is possible to create your own one (on paint for example) and send it to the phone via infrared as the phone supports both bmp files and gif files. Fifthly, for anyone having problems with settings, go to www.siemens-mobile.com, go into the mobile phone portal, and go to customer care � setting configurator. It is possible to download your settings OTA (over the air). Sixthly, to change the ringtone, go menu, settings, ringtones. Select the one you want to change, click standard, then click change, and it will bring you into your sounds folder. Seventhly, it is not possible to synchronise cx65 with a pc, it doesn�t support that function. However, there is an OTA sync function; but this requires sync settings from your network. Eighthly, the joystick is attached to the phone and is not supposed to be removed, so you will have to get it repaired. Finally a few words of advice, keep your firmware up to date, should be version 43 now, check out www.club-siemens.com. Don�t rush through the menus as the OS is really really slow and unresponsive and rushing will cause the phone to freeze. Be careful taking the battery out of the phone, should you need to, it�s very easy to break the clip that holds the battery in place. And last of all, if you�re trying to decide whether to buy this phone or not, don�t, it�s just really really terrible. Dodgy processor, dodgy firmware, very disappointing. This is my 5th Siemens phone and has just totally put me off Siemens forever because this phone has so many bugs. Hope everyone finds this useful!!

The best is the SiMoCo (Siemens Mobile Conrol), I use itfor my CX65. Um, but the SiMoCo handles only 9-10 ports, so if your usb is on the name "Com13", you have to change it. But usually USB is "Com4". GL

Ray, Just grab the sim card on top (top of sim card which is not covered by metal) by fingernails, bend the sim card slightly upwards and pull it out. do not use any sharp things. I had similar difficulties, but once you learn it,its easy.

Anyone who has a problem with the phone turning of... it's not a faulty handset, don't worry. it happens on all siemens phones. i read a review somewhere and it says just that. i don't currently have this phone, but am going to get it :) i do have another siemens phone and the same thing happens. it's annoying, but they're still good quality phones :)

I am now on my third CX65 handset since 24/12/04, as they all seem to switch themselves off occasionally for no reason. The Orange Shop that it was bought from say they have not heard of the fault before. Surely I am not that unlucky to get 3 faulty handsets! I'm about to send it back and get a 4th handset (as this is all they will allow me to do, apart from send my phone off to be 'fixed'). Has anyone else had this problem? Is it true Siemens recalled a 'bad batch' from their stores in some areas of Scotland? I would be grateful for anyone's help or comments. Thanks.

Great phone except the software can be a bit finicky!! Wouold bever be able to go back to a small screen. Only real flaw is that it doesnt support .mp3 files, very surprising considering Siemens where the first company to have phones supporting .mps formats, we all remember sl45!!

I just upgraded the fw12 into my cx65,and it improves the whitebalance at night and i can shoot for about 30 sec but the pixels are huge and the refresh is lowsyer than the one of mc60.So pardon my french but "how do i get this crap off my shitty phone!!!"

Great phone, I read some of the comments on this page before buying the phone and I was concerned that the cx65 was a bad design but I have bought one and it is great. I had in the past 2 Siemens phones followed by 2 Motorola phones and one Nokia phone, but this is the best phone yet by far when you get to grips with the menu. battery is good also.

Da phone is big, ugly, and battery has to be charged every 2 days BUT If you take photos and record voice durin 1 hour...NO BATTERY I had it and, there r a lot of thing i never use.... the video is bad and only 10 seconds, speaker quality is low... hi, there! i'm thinking over buying cx65. i think cx65 is a great phone for such a price. i red almost all the opinions here. i'm concern about all the bugs people are talking about. the newest firmware sounds like a good decision. at there are a lot of variants, but if the firmware on the phone is for example v.8 will i have to do 4 updates to get to the 12th version, or? and one more question: is the serial data cable the only option to do the update if this could not happen at the mobile-store? can anyone help me with these, pls? thank you

I've owned a CX65 since mid-July and I wish I'd never bought it. Many problems.... 1. Phone switches itself off after receiving email. 2. Slow to respond to keypad commands. 3. Unable to access the message menu. Select the yellow envelope icon and the screen goes a blank blue colour. 4. The phone has been losing its internet & email settings. Orange have sent them to the phone twice now. It has the latest v12 firmware installed. Phone now with the official Siemens UK repairer (Hays). They received it on the 24th September and I'm still waiting for it to be repaired (8th October) Customer Careline is next to useless. One representative became rather annoyed with me when I dared to complain. My advice? Steer a very wide berth around Siemens. I'm buying a Nokia 6230. �199 wasted - unless I take legal action against siemens for selling me goods not fit for the purpose they were advertised for.

Hi, i have used three companies products quite frequently, nokia, samsung and siemens. samsung is rather confusing but i found the bugs in siemens only. whatever nokia and samsung make, they stand on it and it can not be said a bug e.g low ringing volume in samsung X-600. but in siemens, main problem is that the phone hangs up during operation. and it is impossible at all to use it with speed like we can use nokia and samsung. it seems to be an old computer whose hard disk has bad clusters! its IR works but looses connection on transfering a big file (like video)or multiple files (like 4, 5 jpg files together) at a time. one has to restart the computer and mobile again. this never happened atleast to me while using nokia. but this is a common complaint by CX-65 and M65 users!

i have been using this phone for the last 2 months. have upgraded it twice and now running it with FW12. i think all siemens mobiles are very un-predictable. with the increase in video time upto 1 min by FW12, video's pixels have been badly affected, also the frame rate (video speed). i wonder since when one has to keep on upgrading his phone like this! now i know the fact that with bigger and heavier handsets and smaller screens, why nokia is still on the top! anyway, whoever has taken it, try to enjoy it like as i am doing everyday ;)

i got this phone from starhub online e-shop for S$168(2yr plan)got the firware v12 ready with it, really value for money ! The screen display is really cool, overall, the only setback i feel is the ringtone - kinda soft ringing (duno if its becoz its 24polyphony or wat)the recording playback is soft too, handfree speaker is soft too (compare to M55 i am using too now)Anyone has any advise on the sound/ringtone/speaker?

To Ex-siemens CX65 user: idd, nokia 6230 has better features... but its almost 200EUR more(!) expensive than the CX65... The CX65 hanged 1 time in 4 weeks when I was taking pics. CX65 is good, but there are idd still a few bugs, firmware upgrade will fix most of these.

Hey again! I Finally bought this phone! And I love it VERY VERY MUCH! The design is very nice and cool. The phone has a big and very colourfull TFT-screen. I`ts very enjoyable to watch. Very melodical ringtones, nice quality on screen and very very good VGA camera! The camera makes REALLY good photos. I first thought, that phone makes little poor photos, but it was wrong, THE CAMERA makes VERY GOOD and nice photos. I like everything in this phone. Oh! And I have one question. Will I need some datacable or something to get a newest firmware? Could some help again!?

To Steve: I don't have any problems with calling. The sound quality is ok for me, no problems (but I don't call very much...). The over-all soundquality is good. Polyphonic ringtones and recorded sounds are represented fine.

To Mio: 'firmware' is the systemsoftware (operating system) your mobile phone is running. With a serial cable (made by Siemens) you can upgrade your Siemens-phone to a newer firmware; it is with fixed bugs and a little(!) more features. Take a look at www.siemens-mobile.com for more imformation about the firmware v8 for the CX65 if you want to.

To Morter: it's possible to set the volume of the ringtones higher, but I think there's a bug in firmware 2 with that --> when I raise the volume, it doesn't have any effect (only in preview) :-s But if it works with newer firmware, the ringtones can damage your ears I think. ;-) Your right about the movie, 11s is not long. Actually I don't use it. Maybe longer videotimes are possible with newer (again) firmware, don't know... To Steve: the camera is very good, nice pics (for mobile phone!) at 640x480 max. You can zoom 5x (digital) and adjust the lightness. The video is at screen-resolution, but only for 11s... The TFT screen is very nice: big, colourfull (65536 colours), good contrast --> no negative comments for me.

To Morter: if you need nightmode, ok, but try to find a mobile phone for 249EUR with night-mode and all the other features the CX65 has... Lots of people are talking about "good" and "bad", but they totally forget the price. When you compare phones (or other things), you have to compare it with things within the same priceclass. By the way: there are still lots of phones with a CIF-camera, compared to them this is a very nice VGA camera (for instance: the nokia 6610i with CIF --> 239EUR :s)!

well people, although this is a mobile phone but night mode is a necessary part of a camera mobile phone. a camera in a mobile phone is prefered by ppl because it stays with them all the time. now if one wants to take picture at night, do he keep a torch or search light with him too, to use its blind camera??? i am really disappointed. i was about to buy it but thanks God, came here and saw this!

To the last "unknown person": we already said a few times that this is a mobile phone, not a digital camera. The camera is very good and I've no problems with taking pics at home. And if it doesn't work very good --> update firmware first. :-)

Why no Night Mode?

Nice looking but not a good working phone. Camera sucks....no nite mode, can't even take picture even at home where light are on (deem). The only good is the infrared, at least it work unlike like samsung (sort of dummy infrared).

In my m65 no contrast contol and 10 steps of illumination but when you look at the white color you find it not that clear like st 55 or c-cf62 do cx65 have the same problem

To Perplexed: maybe you can do a firmware update to fix the problem? At siemens-mobile.com you can download firmware version 8 for the CX65 (not already tried it with mine, still running firmware 2). To ma'en: the CX65 can set a picture to full screen for background, but the logo's/indicators are overlapping the background of course (but isn't that logic? ;-) ). You can, however, replace the operator-logo to a transparant gif for example... You can't adjust the contrast (believe me, there is NO need for), but you can adjust the illumination in 10%-steps.

I recently received a CX65 from O2 here in the UK and it seems to have a fatal flaw: if you receive an email on it, the phone crashes (switches off). If you switch it back on the phone will crash again in about 30 seconds. The only way round this is to switch it back on, then get to the inbox quickly and delete the email. If you can do this before the phone crashes again then the phone will behave normally. It's the same no matter how big or small the email or whichever email account I send it from. O2 sent me a new phone yesterday and it's even worse: so far I'm unable to delete the email in time, so now my phone is completely unusable. Anyone else found this?

It's absolutely right some people just don't read the specs good enough. And idd, for good pics they invented the digital camera! The picture quality of the CX65 is very good FOR A MOBILE PHONE. And ok, maybe the camera has no nightmodus, but you can attache an external flash if you really want. After all I payed 249EUR in Belgium; not very much for a phone like this. Franking speaking, this CX65 just don't have the cut. Even thought the screen look big but the pictures only can display in the centre (became small) as top the phone operator logo and below menus...What it most sadden me is that it does not have a night mode function, taking pictures at home or night simply don't work... Franking speaking, I don't think this is a bubget phone as it bought at S$488 but only able to sell at 338 after 3 days. I think with the price S$488, SE T630 will be a much better choice. Goodbye CX65!!!

Frankly speaking after using for 1 week, i feel this phone is good for budget-tight users.Good camera and video, but video only 11sec, big lcd screen, hard to sms because of low key buttons and function assigned to each key seems different from most phones. The handset also hangs at times, and it is advisable not to change sim card or battery frequently because of the tight and almost hard to remove cover, especially the sim card can't be pulled out sometimes. Camera also has no night mode. Good 40 chords polyphonic tones. Thats all i think about the siemens cx65. i would recommend it to those who are looking for a budget wise phone with basic features.

first please excuse my english (because i'm french) i bought this phone 3 days ago and i am totally satisfied with it : - very very nice screen, luminous and contrasted (what is not usual with siemens phones) - good design, light and quite small - good camera - very complete (a lot of options including the photocall, voice recording, the possibility of modifying its photographs, and contrary to what some people ( who certainly have not tested it) say, the keypad is not so small compared to other ones, and it is less slow that some other siemens. -a lot of memory (11M) what is enough to save some 170 photographs with a resolution of 640*480 -the battery is good however, the rings are ugly and at the beginning, it is quite diffult to cope whit to menu and the many ways to do the same thing but finally, one realizes that it is arranged well ... -the materials used are good, except maybe that of the lid of the battery but it is very correct but : it does not read the mp3 and does not have a tuner. -a bit expensive --> I RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY

I bought a CX65 and I was very pleased. Pro's: very good TFT screen, lots of settings to choose from, very good VGA camera, enough memory 4 pics (at the moment I've space for 170 pics at 640x480), 2 cool flashing white LEDS,... Contra's: not always fast (the slowest thing is when you download/upload stuff from/to your CX65 with the PC, of course), keypad is placed a bit too low, standard ringtones suck. About the physical quality: it needs time to find out... I really suggest this phone by cause of its very good price/performance ratio. If you want to offer the fact that it's slow from time to time and you can live with the "a bit too low keypad" --> buy it! And by the way: before this phone I had a nokia 3330. It's really not *that* difficult to find your way into Siemens-menus.

I just bought this phone a couple days ago. The appearance is excellent. However, I have faced below problems: 1. The phone has jamned very often during searching the menu. 2. some problem has occurred during operation of video recording (cannot be operated). 3. Once a while, a message of "out of memory" pop up while I have not installed anything yet except 4 complimentary ringtones. 4. When listening to the poly for a long time, the phone shut down by itself. I wonder there is a QC check prior to launch to the market....

Hey Fonzie, I just got mine 3 days back and the 1 of the bug I've encountered is also the signal lost that requires a 'reboot'. Other bugs are like the backlight remaining on when charging unless you lock the keys 1st. It's a software issue it seems. I understand that Siemens are coming up with a firmware upgrade to fix the glitches, a Version 6. MY firmware's V4. Here in belgium I bought it 259 euro. But I had to bring to the shop 2 times, but same problem on 2 : when you listen to melodies sometimes the sound disapear and the network is lost you are obliged to turn it off, or sometimes it turns off alone. I think it's a sofware problem. the shop give me the money back and they will wait for the next shipment. someone have had this problem with this phone ??? that's a shame becoz it was really good ...

Price in Belgium is about 250EUR! I think it's very cheap compared with the features this phone has. The only thing that bothers me is that I don't know the physical quality of the phone. I've a Nokia 3330 since 3 years and it's still alive: no keypad probs after thousands of sms's, no screenprobs, it felt many times... and it's still alive! Is it possible with Siemens to let your phone survive with this conditions, just like Nokia? :-)

I can not get anywhere a version of java-midlet ChessBuddy (product of Coffebreakmedia, Niek van Nielsen) wihich one perfectly fit to my Siemens C55 screen. Played with the prototype... It sure is great! Camera is nice, it gives fine pictures and videos(limited to 15 sec), and there is small chanse for it to be scrachted. Plastick cover, as well as the kypad, is cracky and loosy, it feeels like it is going to fall of, but it is not. Screen is one of the best. Better than one on new models from Samsung. It is just more colorful. Menus look cool, they are interesting, yet easy to use(and not to menion that there are some great themes in the phone, and that icons are very pretty). I dont't know about the price, but it is worth of some 200 $/ EUR to invest. And if you are considering to buy this phone or some of those from Nokia(7250,7250i,6220), I really recomend this one. It has almoust all those things Nokia does + better cammera, realy loud and clear ringtones, excellent audio recording/playing, and the java is working faster. I may say that although it does have less memory than K700, this phone can ever cometit with SonyEricsson's top model, K700.

Just facts: I had chance to play 10 minutes with these candy and it is great aldo resolution of LCD is maybe to low for dimensions. Sorry but price wont be so low - start price is above 300 euros for SURE (my uncle works in siemens germany) But he says it will fall to 220 to 280 euro on end of year (it depends mostly how easy it will be sel on high start price)

To Monalika, usb port is a port available in the phone on which u can connect the usb cable. MPEG player is a movie player can be used to view the recorded video or MPEG files. 3D audio i m not sure abt it but its a 3D sound system.and MP3 reingtone tats just a MP3 files which can be used as ringtone. well tats alll.. lolz..

It's simply great! the infra red is a really stupid flaw we cant ask for bluetooth here, but the usb port is a logic alternative (even if it can't connect you with other devices), besides that it could have a XVGA (1MP or more) camera, like most phones nowdays... the price will be more or less the same as the MC60 (that's good!!) It could be my next phone!!!

guys, enough with bluetooth already.:) remember that this is only a c-series (mid-range). look for it in the next S or ME series, CeBIT is just around the corner.

The features is getting greater and greater. Charmful pretty fashioned design. Good 65K color screen with very large resolution. Big memory and some indenpendent phone features include Java, MMS, USB port, Camera with additional flash, and the others. But I think Siemens will lack of Bluetooth and Infra-Red for every next products. Maybe, they're preparing for next generation of data transfer solution which better than Infra Red and faster than Bluetooth. Any guess ? And how much is the price of it ?
