  • have u done this problem ? ı can't use the ebook reader and I see that u have same problem with me.. ıf u solve the problem, can u share it with me how does it work.. thanks

  • it has good battery.i had nokia and samsung with same mAh and even a little stronger capacity.philips made this much reliable then this two manufacturers i can tell.

  • was somebody's problem a sound once with the mobile telephone? I was not satisfied with the speech quality on the other hand. I heard everybody well though, me but only if I helped in my sound forming a funnel of my hand into the microphone. did somebody else experience one like this?

  • been using this phone 4 three months...yet it looks lyk new and has a cool sleek design...battery lyf is good...though not a month...not even a week...bt mine goes 3 days wid extreme usage (i'm a very busy person;))...d detail of capturing image is average...sound quality is good...network signal is good...d video quality could've been better...d only prob i faced dat i could not use it as a GPRS modem bcuz d software given wid d phone can't detect it...may b it's ma OS cuz i use 64bit version of XP SP2...oh i forgot n d webcam option...it gets activated bt d cam interface on ma PC shows nothing... may b i need a proper driver bt couldn't find it anywhere...overall it's a good phone...

  • Fantastic features Email pop up and long lasting Xenium battery no hassle for charging battery Powerful standby 720 hours I like it ..

  • Brother u r absolutely correct

  • i have philips 9@9w mobile phone.but it outer casing is broken.i am from srilanka.pls replay to how can i take it in srilanka

  • Great phone ..only one misadvantage - There a no option for changing SMS tone.Just use the default tones ..Other than that, very very goooood phone

  • the other thing, there is an E-book reader option... what format does it support? can it support the pda ,ppt files etc ?those tiny medical dictionaries and all. and are any other themes available? and indeed very much impressed by the battery...

  • I have problem with Java feature. I cannot change java setting for writing user data as described in user manual. This problem possibly causes some java application problems which requires writing data to the storage. I have reported the problem to local Philips representative. However there is no answer until months. I also sent question to Philips official website, there is a response, but no solution. Please help me. I love this cool handphone, but I am not satisfied with this problem. I think it is part of quality problem, where the user manual is not suitable with the device.

  • let's start with the pluses: Build quality: I've owned a 650 (xenium 9@9c), a 960 and a 768. the cosmetics of these phones would fade or fall apart after as short a period as 2 months. My 9@9w has gone past its 6th month - still pristine. Its solid form makes the 3 former units look flimsy. By the way, the last two units were so buggy - philips philippines offered me a refund because it couldn't offer a better unit. Form factor: i've gotten lots of good feedback about how handsome it looks. even makes its owner look good. (wink wink). Signal quality. Pretty good everywhere i go...even on sun cellular :-) now the minuses: Interface and graphics: looks so haunting like that of alcatels. a friend of mine owns an ot-825 and the similarities, right down to how you create and update music files...spooky...you'd think they came out of the same factory. Output power: great sounding speaker, but the headsets leaves a lot to be desired. great in quiet places, but wouldn't recommend using it inside the bus let alone public places where the ambience would drown the sound coming from your earpiece. you guys might want to consider adopting philips's "dynamic bass boost" to compete against "megabass" by sony(ericsson). as for the batter life. i've not expected much even as way back as my 650 for one simple reason, the more you use your phone, the more power you consume and at 920 milliamperes? come one philips...get real...you can't really expect a month...even on standby. despite these however, i'm still happy to be using philips again.

  • it can work in windown xp sp3 only if you have the new software for other new models like x710. however the connection only can be made via bluetooth. i hv the software but don't know how to give you since the sizes is too big as attachment. if you want, tell me the way can send to you.

  • It's Awesome...and Great battery life...for me..it's one of the best!..thank you Philips...

  • Dear Philips, Wish you could make a version that's dual active, has a flash for the camera and 3G capable (plus a host of minor tweaks). But all things considered, your 9@9w is one heck of a phone. I absolutely love it. Thanks.

  • the mobile phone tools does not work in window xp sp3 but just sp2 only. anyone know how to use in sp3?

  • Honestly, nothing is perfect guys, philips is no back stabber for sure, they are for real, to me xenium 9@9w is awesome, it's a good friendly phone. Bravo Philips! and to those who are using it and accept it as it is or intend to buy it as it is, no matter what, you are making the right choice, and to those who had given up, please stop ridiculing because acting in such a way would make you subconciously ill, Okay don't do drugs, don't kill yourselves, have a nice 'phone' day, I love u all.

  • is that so.. im surprised that it isnt dual active.. so it only has 2 sim slot but not 2 sims spontaneous active.. so the battery life......what ever longer it would take just normal for single sim phones... maybe if its a dual active and performs let say a week without charging is a record breaking... ei guys, first.......... look at the battery.. of the cp first before commenting and believing coz you might be decieve.. the greater the figure the longer its life... peace out!

  • as for your 2nd question, i m not sure i may give you the right answer, 'cos i just used it for several minutes. well, in case you insert a micro sd card as i did for listening to music, you should then put all music files into a folder called "My Music" (you may create it by yourself or it will be created automatically after you set the playlist option to memory card), and you check the "refresh list" option, you ll see all the music files recognizable be listed. good luck,

  • well, you just go to the profile menu, and for each one : general, outdoor, meeting, etc., you may have the option of setting up the ring tone, both from the list of midi tones available in phone and the ones you add from exterior, like .mp3 files, it works fine, and the sound quality is pretty good.

  • NEED HELP... just bought one. - cannot change ringtone. - has no options for ringtones whatsoever. -cannot move songs to playlist if kept in floder.ie ..cannot extract whole folder to play simultaneously. i am a first time philips user..so kinda ignorant..can any one help me out?please

  • If I set the bluetooth receiving folder in to the SD card, it automatically goes to phone memory. And also cann't move to the SD card. Could you please help me to solve this problem.

  • I think for any mobile phone the top is 2 GB of micro SD memory card,Bigger than that can make freeze the phone

  • Does anybody know, what is the maximum size of MicroSD Memory for this 9@9W? Thanks in advance. Regards, -inoor

  • i just want to ask if theres a backlight when you're texting. mine does not..Please, could anyone tell me..

  • Hi Zaf, I don't think Philips is wrong. They said The phone is Dual Sinm But They didn't say The phone is "DUAL SIM DUAL ACTIVE"

  • big mobile makers like 'Philips' should not advertise their phone with false information. this phone is not a 'dual sim' - only 1 sim work at one time. they should be very careful about this otherwise we the customers suffers a financial loss.

  • nice design, blue touth is dodgy, software does NOT work with windows vista

  • Ooww i just know that philips 9@9w the Dual SIM not active on the same time.cause a view days ago i think for bought it.but if the SIM not active in the same time, maybe i refer to another.actually i like the design and for length of the battery.AWESOME!

  • Excellent design. But but not dual-sim active at the same time...... They should make make something like this with both sims active

  • Yes, T9 is available in english and Chinese. Till now the standby is OK, bit only 3 days old :-) Metal housing, nice design, lot of features. too bad, that in my desktop PC I have no bluetooth, so USB is the only connection yet. but it suuport only USB1.1, means slow 12 Mbit/s (1.5 MB/s), but forget the speed I wrote in brackets... Much ore slower. I hope via bluetooth it will be possible to send files...

  • cant you use the 11 mb (shared memory) for contact storage?

  • is this serious? i mean regarding the contact storage (300 only). please tell us if this is true

  • Can anyone confirm whether there's T9 for this phone?

  • Well Xeniums are simply great battary backup. I have already used 04 model. it would be nice if 02 sim can work at a time, but unfortunately not. Scrach proff display makes user comfortable. Kuntal Aulad Bangladesh

  • this pone is very gud phon.this phon has powerful via doual antenas

  • The E-Book function is very good because you can switch the character set between UCS2, UTF-8, English, Chinese Big-5, Chinese GB2312. And 9@9W can act as GPRS modem in Ubuntu Linux

  • Among the Xeniums to choose from, if contacts size is a major factor (besides long life) then avoid this phone. It stores only 300 contacts on the phone memory for each sim (theres's 2 sim slots). And the SIM are not active-active. You need to switch from one to another. Unless you're travelling frequently from country to country.... not that useful... I rely mostly on the Xenium's huge phonebook and for those who know the frustration of a small (250) phonebook on sims, you get what I mean. I do a lot of contacts compressing esp for husband and wife under the same contact entry by just Last Name, Their Name. Useful in having more contacts. LOL Crappy software interface as compared to the old mobile Phone Tools. The software doesn't even support the other models which I used to have 9@9g/9@9c which was seamless. There are better Xeniums around. The 9@9g and 9@9g/r is better with T9 dictionary learning the words ala most brands like Nokia or Sony Ericssion. I can't find it here.

  • You can't use both SIM cards at the same time.

  • 1st of all Xenium (battery) is great despite heavy users may claim otherwise without looking at their daily usage. But 9@9w is a scam. Just look at this It uses SIM-SWAP (non-simultaneous use) which is really an ""old"" technique. If you're after REAL DUAL SIM go with DUOS D880...

  • only last 4 days by normal use, does not comply with its claim

  • I bought one at the car show expo. Charged it up and battery dropped only 1 bar after 2 days of normal usage (4 bars). You can pop 2 SIM cards into it and set to "divert when unreachable" - this way calls to either SIM card will reach you. It works well and has most features on my Nokia Luna. Only feature it doesn't have which I would have liked on my Nokia is the Notes.

  • No one has answered this question raised several times here: Are the two SIM cards "on" at the same time? In other words, would both numbers be able to receive calls at the same time? This is important for many of the prospective buyers.

  • It claims that it can last 8 hrs of call, but my 9@9W last only 3 days with normal talk time, I am very disappointed.

  • I'm interested with its Dual SIM feature. Are both SIM cards "on" at the same time? Anyone knows?

  • quadband please... triband is so ancient.

  • Is hand writing available ?

  • This Xenium model more better than the first Xenium model (Battery life,screen,price....)

  • It is really a good design .Good battery autonomy, good coverage .And of course compared to other same design mobile phone the price is very attractive.

  • There is no English manual released yet by Philips only a leaflet w w w . p4c . philips . c o m / files/c/ct9a9wblk_00/ct9a9wblk_00_pss_aen.pdf

  • If anyone has a URL to a 9@9w manual in English then could you please post it here? Thanks.

  • Saw this phone in Malaysia by Philips. Looks good, sharp images, 2MP camera, Long battery life, only thing is that it works one sim at a time although u are allowed to do call forwarding. The good thing is that is going to be priced at RM799.00 and I dont have to buy 2 phones for my travelling. I can use one sim when I am travelling and look at my missed calls on the other sim with just a press of a button. Saves money!

  • Are there a two antenna in the phone, so via 2 antenna the 2 sim cards can work together at the same time. And Price?

  • Does dual sim working online at the same time? Or swithed between the cards but only 1 card working online?

  • this phone can play videos with 30fps but record with 15fps in MPEG or H263 (220x176)

  • You can switch between both cards at any time in one of the menus

  • Dual sim working at same time realtime.??

  • Great! Just not a quadband and no fm radio..

  • Thats not a matter of fun ! the stand by time of this phone is 720 hours ! but disappointing features.

  • work the sim in same time??? two network like CECT???

  • wow.. 2mp camera, bluetooth 2, super battery and only 12mm!! And it looks like they have changed the English characters on the screen to a smaller font.

  • This looks interesting. The battery life is simply amazing. I can't wait to get 1 Xenium phone!
