Samsung A847 Rugby II - User Reviews

  • Has anyone had the screw to get to the battery to break?

  • What is the charge rating for this phone

  • A few years late.... but this is what I did to stop the Samsung Rugby II from taking pictures by itself... It's the exposed PTT button on the left side of the phone. There is the up down volume button, and the button above that is the Push To Talk, Photo button. I didn't need it, since I don't use the push to talk and you can still take photos on the main screen. Using very tiny precision screwdriver, and placing a toothpick under the screwdriver so I wouldn't mark the phone, I carefully popped the button off of the phone. Then I cut about half of the protruding plastic pin off of the button, then used some strong super glue carefully applied all around the base of the button with a broken toothpick, I pushed the button back in place, and using elastic bands to hold a small piece of wood tightly over the button, I set it aside for a day to dry and cure. When I removed the elastic bands ....all done :-) No more phone taking pics by itself... :-) And the button is still there looking like the day it was made,, but just doesn't function anymore. I'm happy with my Samsung Rugby II. :) Buy a good tightly fitting belt holster for it.

  • 5-6 days with regular use. Great for the battery life

  • My husband got this phone because it is tough for work! But it takes continuous pictures and kills the battery. We cannot figure out how to shut off the camera. Deleted 594 black pics it took randomly today. Also cannot find a setting to turn off the clicking while texting! Help!M

  • If anyone knows, please tell me how many days is battery life of average use. Thanks

  • Rugby 2 makes a good but exspenive phone for the 2 year old to play with. Got it through A.T&T won't fix it and they sent me a refurbished one that does the same thing. When you go to send a text it might go or it might send you back to the main screen and then you have to make your way to the out box and try again. As for calls yes it might ring or go straight to voice mail. Depends on the mood its in.

  • it has never let me down and so what if it is a little heavy or thick if i had one of the new style phones it would have been in the trash many times they are to thin and fragile i do not wear a suit the phone is on my belt and it is good for what i use it for

  • I have 2 of these phones sitting on my desk being used as paper weights. Both phones randomly go into sos mode. They randomly receive calls. Most of the time it goes to voice mail instead of the phone ringing. They have had their sims swapped and bell told me today to return them. I'm not pleased with this handset at all. If your reading this post don't buy this phone.

  • hi hw much does the samsung a847 rugby ii cost cause im thinking of bying one

  • Hope that Samsung will launch A847 Rugby II in indonesia.

  • Nice flap phone introduce after long long time. Better at least have a 3.15 MP camera. Hope that you will launch it in Sri Lanka. All the best.

  • Hope this one was louder than the other.... I liked the Rugby 1, but it was not loud enough.

  • I have heard many positive things about the Rugby I from consumers I have spoken to ... better reception than other phones and ruggedness. If the same is true of the Rugby 2, I don't believe looks is a priority, functionality is at top of the list. Looking forward to hearing initial comments about this updated model. Per the opinions on AT&T webpage 18 of 22 current owners recommend the Rugby I to a friend with an overall 4 of 5 star average rating.

  • Wish they launched it in India.

  • i love the phone....i'm tired the touch phone's. i hope that he arrived to portugal soon. maybe vodafone portuguese will sell the phone

  • it`s not havy at all. only 100g

  • bullet proof

  • although...it's all exclusive for AT&T...
