Samsung C520 - User Reviews

  • Haven't you notice that the phone sounds familiar? It sounds like Adlib/Soundblaster fm synthesis whenever I tried different ringtone, after downloaded some midis from any websites

  • You won't find it new. Try a second hand one from sites like e-bay or olx

  • i want to buy again this kind of cellphone...samsung c520. where can i buy this..is there stock as of now.

  • can we extract photos from a completely damaged samsung c520

  • looking wao.............style is phinominal ....excellent but camaera is not good.......

  • this phone is brilliant for its intended function as a simple easy to use and basic phone. i like its miniture size and light weight and i have had it for 5 years now and it has survived being dropped and lost on beach for 3 days and motorcycle accident. It is really easy to text and use and I use the alarm every morning to wake up with and the calendar and the battery life is good for many days, so I think it is a very well engineered product from samsung and unfair to compare it to modern high tech i phones as it is designed to be a small robust easy to use and cheap phone and it yes it does look very cute and the buttons and hinge is very durable. well done samsung and I ll buy a samsung galaxy one day when this little baby finally dies.

  • $20 phone.. too cheap for its capability. FM radio.. VGA camera not so bad. the only thing is.. you need a separate USB cable suitable for this phone which i will find tomorrow if i got any luck Battery standby .. 3 days If you use it frequently maybe 1 and half day too much calls.. 1 day. you talk all day.. you got 2 or 3 hours straight then its dead.. now you recharge it now.. who the heck talks for straight 2 hours???!

  • Try using Windows XP service Pack 2 Professional and make sure all your Drivers for your hardware are updated and properly installed

  • yes dude.. its quite LOUD. it vibrates first before it rings the tone.. so it vibrates for about.. 5 secs.. then you will hear the ringtone.. thats how it works.. it has few selections of ringtones.. i recommend you choose the tone named COOL.. btw. Im from Philippines i bought this phone for P700 from P1000 being offered to me

  • it doesn't have too much things too do with the phone it is so ugly i cannot upload photos to any websites. it's charging slot and usb slot is in just one slot it is very ugly!, Nokia 6020 is much better than it. the recording time is just 30 seconds and cannot play it on loudspeaker..

  • Question for users: I don't know how I did it, but when I get an incoming call and I open up the lid, it automatically answers the call. What I want is to be able to open up the lid and answer or reject the call from the green / red keys. How can I set it up so that it doesn't automatically answer incoming calls anymore?

  • cool fone....dipped it5 in my beer...its stil gud

  • i got the phone for 1000Php or around 20$, and its really worth the price... very simple and cute... this phone is not intended for taking pictures, nor playing music, but for the basic use... but hey, samsung's way of presenting their low end phones is quite luxuriously basic.. and so love it.. its camera and fm radio is presented as rather an accent and not a feature... its looks is presented as rather basic but elegant... long battery life... loud earpiece and loudspeaker... perfect for those who like simply-elegant basic phone... hail samsung c520... I LOVE IT!!! weeeee....

  • Hi, I cannot download my photos with the USB as the PC does not recognise the phone. I have read that other users have also had this problem. Does anyone at all have the definitive solution to this problem. Happy Xmas to all from Greece

  • i have this mob and it exellent...it even droped into a hot soup and after i wiped it work good a before it droped. its not so scratch proof cos everytime it falls it leave a mark. its really easy to use.

  • @chowder: Try to compare C520 to N7070 first, then determine what you really want. Here are some cons of N7070; 1. n7070 is heavier about 78grams. 2. No Radio. 3. No Camera. 4. No. USB (for c520 you need to buy data cable PCB113). ~Hope it helps. Gwapotagamandaue

  • @cute_set: Yes it has a vibration mode.. actually it functions when the c520 is at the silent mode, it vibrates when there is a new message received or an incoming call. ~Hope I answered your question. Gwapotagamandaue..xD

  • choose 7070,is 10 times better.

  • hi guys, i was thinking of buying a phone for functional purposes, and am choosing between the nokia 7070 and the samsung c520... im not after the features that much, i leave them to my other 'playthings'... just looking for funtion and durability... can anyone give a suggestion on what to buy? replies very much appreciated... thanks much!!!

  • 600kb internal memory? That's ridiculous!

  • does it have vibration? it is included in the specs here but i can't find it on this phone.

  • well, i've got it earlier this month of july 2009, and i thought that this is one of the brand new model of samsung and i don't know that it was launched last 2 or 3 yrs. ago. Anyway, i was attracted to its clamshell design, yup... i looked at its specs and i find it really not so glamorous unlike other phones... BUT, i liked its simplicity of making calls and sending sms. As for me, i can send mms to other networks, the vga camera seems clear to me, though i thought it has video either but still it has a camera. I can listen to local fm radios, yup one of my favorites... For me, this phone is for using what it really meant to be. Perhaps if you want a unit that has so many features you buy the modern 2009 models of samsung and not this phone... but i highly recommend it for simple people like me who uses phone as it is..

  • Great phone For older people The Numbers on screen are very large and easy for people with eyesight problems to see. Basic phone but my elderly mother can use it no problems.

  • ihave one of this from Sun plan....its quite ok so far but one thing i dont like the keypads are hard to type messages---is there any way to change keypads----are there available keypads in your service centers.....

  • Mobiles are to make calls, they are not playstations or cameras. If you buy a camera and a phone separatedly you will save money.

  • i live in lebanon and i just bought this phone, it sucks i don't tell anyone to buy it, it's cute and mine has hearts on it but it really not a mobile it is garbage. i hate it im gonna change it what should i buy? i want it having more than this but not too expensive

  • im going to buy this unit in sun plan., but when i read the info about this unit, it make me say NO bec. it doesn't have any usb cord.,! and when i read the opinions of others, it was really true,.! im planning to buy another phone,. but this unit was really cute!:)

  • yea i did not get any USB either! cheaters!! this fone is quite useless... only thing is it is cute

  • Has any one actually managed to transfer photos from this phone to a computer any one ???

  • why there isnt any usb cord given when i bought this handset and why theres no service with multimedia messages

  • Please, I bought this model and was not given a usb cord for downloading my photos unto my PC, there is none on sales in my entire country... How can I download my photos or transfer my pic from the phone.. please confirm if there is a usb plug in cord for this C520 samsung model available in the market... Thanks Await your reply

  • how to get a softwere for usb for samsung c520

  • I have this phone, I got it for free from Sun Cell. Messages are not saved in the sent items so if you're not looking at the phone directly, you won't know if your message was sent or not. Picture/Video really sucks, won't even bother talking about it. What I like is the panic button at the side, when you press it twice, it sends an emergency message to the numbers you programmed, and when they call while you're on "panic mode", your phone answers it for you and you won't have to open the flip to answer it.

  • i live here in the philippines, this phone is available through Plan 350 at sun cellular. check the website for details

  • do this type of mobile able to take a removeable memory card?

  • Hi! I'm from the Philippines. I woould just like to ask how can I transfer the photos i have on my phone, if ever i want it to upload on my computer or have it developed?.. ty.

  • Please, my phone does not respond when l want to send a message. So my question goes like this: What do l do to make the phone write the message when l want to send one? thanks.

  • Good day, i live here in the phil.i entered a plan on Sun mobile so i get this unit C520 for only Php 999.00 for 3 units. But then i found out in your website the specification of C520 has a video. But in our unit C520 don't have video. can you please answer, is there any C520 don't have video? Thank you.

  • Question.. where else in the Phils do I buy this phone? I inquired in Samsung Megamall and they said they no longer sell this because it's quite an old model. Thanks :)

  • yer, i own 1 and i find it perfect

  • well, my mum might need to get a new phone after her nokia 3315 (that she has had for about 5.5 years) will be toooo old. In 2006 she got a nokia 2610 and she complained that the phone was not loud enough so she went back to her nokia 3315. i'm wondering if any of you people around the world who go on this site, who HAVE the phone will tell me: is the samsung c520 LOUD enough when you have a call or a txt? because it has been killing her

  • I got one last week. Still having difficulty entering my phone book list..The incoming call and text does'nt vibrate..Only incoming call but only vibrate and then the tone, why not the same time.. The battery last less than two days.. Gosh! Cheap phone goes with the cheap features..

  • How can I permanently disable T9 when I write sms?! I dont wont to press right soft key every time I need write sms.

  • I've the C520 and I bought the special USB data cable. I download the device driver and PC-Studio. Still my computer doesn't recognize the phone. (Message: It's is not signed by Windows). I'm using XP. Can anybody say what I have to do more?? Thanks in advance

  • This is good simple everyday phone and this phone have ALARM and SENT FOLDER you just have to go around the menus or read the manual now to set ALARM go to "organiser" highlight "alarm" choose if you want once alarm or daily alarm or morning call etc. enter time choose AM or PM and there you go it is activated you will see a bell sign on your screen. For ther SENT text menu go to messages click on "text messages" try to sent a txt message highlight "write new" then type in your message. hit on "option" and highlight 2 or "save and send" choose "in phone" and typed in or choose the number of the person you like to send your message to. then click on send. to check your sent message go and check your outbox it will be there. I have motorola and samsung phone both have sent outbox but the way they are set up inside the phone have different procedures and thats when it gets a little complicated, well that is when the power of cellphone navigation gets really interesting sometimes cellphone manuals have the basic info but once you get the hang and feel of the phone then you'll discover the phone has more to offer.

  • I have the rozsy version of this phone and its great. The only issue i have is that it doesn't have bluetooth! And i think you can plug it into the computer but you have to buy the usb cord seperatly. I am gonna go nag my dad to take me out so i can buy i cord for mine now! lol

  • my friend has this phone and im gettin it, ive looked it up and it says that it comes with usb but when my friend got his he didnt get any usb. does it have one or not?

  • dont be deceived by its looks! looks really sexy but lacks what i need! it has no alarm and sent messages folder.. truly a no-no for shoppers looking for functional phone!

  • really good phone for the money

  • For Australians: My Virgin prepaid sim works with this phone (the packaging says it's locked to Boost). The following comments compare the Samsung c520 with the Nokia 8210 (which I've used for 10 years) Pros: - lightweight, - simple phone, - easy to navigate, - T9 sms, - battery life seems decent - easy to turn phone to completely silent Cons (very nit-picky things): - Doesn't come with a standard ring tone (all are random melodies), - no display outside the phone so you have to flick it open to see if you have a missed call / msg, - no way to lock the keypad (that I know of at least), which means the screen lights up in your pocket/bag whenever the external volume keys are pressed - no profiles (for ring tones) - can't have the phone ring and vibrate constantly - can't seem to change the view on the phonebook Overall I'm happy with this phone for it's AU$79 pricetag. The cons are all really minor issues (and mostly about the ring tones and other features that I'm used to with a Nokia).

  • I have a c520. Its a cool looking small, light in weight phone. Have no complaints. Its got everything I need. Besides what is a phone for? In the old time they where used for the right stuff. phoning and sending SMS. Nowadays cellphones are full of functions. Some are so complicated that a person does not even know how to touch it. But Like I say this one is a Simple good looking easy to use & small cellphone. Thanx to Samsung.

  • ok lets talk i had this phone when i was three last time i used to throw it all over and bite it and until now i am 15 yrs old, its still working ! good fone recomend it to all crazy babies . if adults buy they should lick it because it has a strawberry flavour !! its so COOL .

  • how am i going to transfer pics from my phone to the pc? does it need an installer?aside from usb?

  • i want ittttttttttt

  • very nice for that price, really cheap and good looking mobile

  • I also have one, and my network is perfect, it depends on your provider perhaps...

  • well then their is surely something wrong with your phone. i have one and my network is perfect. say dont say things that are not true!

  • guys this phone is deceiving, dont be fooled by the look, the phone has an extremely weak network signal, what good is a phone if it losses signal and cannot hold a call. not recommended at all

  • guys post about the battery life time, how many days it takes to dry of tanks...

  • does it come in any diff colors an does it take videos

  • Just wanted to tell everybody thar this phone offers a VGA camera, but does NOT allow you to make video clips. That's a small mistake. No hard feelings though. gsmarena.com is still one of the most reliable websites around.

  • question for owners: How do you know about missed calls and msgs when phone is closed?

  • i got this fone while on a holiday in sydney. i was attracted to the color 'coz it was very vibrant and very small compared to my other phones. its very convenient to use since i can just slide it in my pocket when i go out, no need to bring a bag.

  • i bought this phone yesterday (December 9, 2007) and it was so good. The specs and color matches to my car..and its a cool phone rather than nokia phones. When you have this phone..YOUR THE MAN!

  • i bought this fone probaly half a year a go now and well the battery dosent even last a day, i dnt recommebd it to anybody

  • Working in the telco ind. I know that phones can become quite unreliable with so many features. Something that is extremely complicated is highly subject to breakdown. That's physics! This phone is simple, looks good and great value for money. Another excellent product by Samsung.

  • I got one had a Sharp but the keys stuffed up so Vodafone gave me this one in replacement of the Sharp. Well I really enjoy it. Small thin And lots of functions.

  • Hi, I got this phone as a replacement of another phone I had bought. I asked them that I would like to be able to put in addresses of my friends. This phone doesn't have this and I found that when people called me that It would vibrate 3 times then ring for a little while then tell me that I have missed my call. It doesn't have bluetooth only MMS. I like the fell of it and it looks good. Thanks

  • i bought it as a temporary phone (seeing as how's it's pretty damn cheap) because I'm not gonna have my usual one for a few weeks, and i LOVE it. The color is amazing when you actually see it, pictures don't do it justice. It's astonishingly cute. Don't bother if you want to get technical with a phone, but absolutely perfect for just a simple phone for simple phone needs. Has my recommendation =)

  • small, light, beautiful and cheap phone. really like it, just for calling and sms, but doing a great job if used for what it was made

  • nice

  • this phone is good. it is so cheap knowing that it is made by samsung.

  • very good, cheap and best from samsung ,very good design, like this phone congrats samsung

  • well ur all complaining its garbage well duh if its cheap.its got radio,i admitt it doesnt hold a lot of memory but really a phones for calling not taking pics.its still pretty and its quiet good for its price.

  • it doesnt even reach 4mb?!

  • I like it so much. In a beautiful cherry red color. Add a matching handbag, shoes and a hott cocktail dress to match and you're ready to go.Hey don't forget the cherry red lipstick.

  • Good looking, modern, stylish phone but lacks features. Should have a memory card slot and support AAC, MP3, AAC+ and video.

  • It doesn't support video, i've held it in my hands today, please, erase that information! And also it has 2,1 Mb of built-in memory: 0.6 for content, 1 Mb for photos and 0.5 for Java

  • looks pretty sleek, but lack of features. camera less than 1 mega-pixel, no bluetooth, no front cover display, screen too small compare to many other ones they've launched. Only the shell design is sellable.

  • this phone looks realy nice the colour red is ded nyc............but am not sure about the features samsunf phone designs are really nic and the choice of colours they look really smart and slick but the the featres are crp...

  • i am the second one. looks cool and feminine.

  • another low budget phone with one good thing-radio- but with mp3 and no memory? another garbage from samsung?
