Yes you have an option of using both sim at a time. after typing a number press the small key on the left side (above volume keys) see the active sim changes to the other. after calling the active sim would the default one. ok? hope it helps.

If your phone dont display menu or you cant read messages, memos so install SAMSUNG NEW PC STUDIO in you computer then conect the phone to computer with conectivity cable, you will be able to read messages in or out, memos, contacts, and join to the internet. Also masstorage to get personal data from phone memory.

Major problem with this mobile is display screen and pathetic and costly samsung service. The original Samsung cable/strip for about 6-months to 1 year. Then onwards every 3-5 months you need spend 500 bucks on its cable besides standing for hours in the long samsung service ques.

This phone is best in quality. I have this phone since 2008 and had a repair only once on the slide because it fell down from the stairs. The only thing I did not appreciate is that the menu of both sim can't be seen, you need to switch/log off from one sim to another in order to view the menu of your sim. but overall performance, i will rate it 8.

Well then go option for any contacts u made recently ,as u can see 1.details 2.call...etc etc...see 6. its reject list...!! go there and in that list the "rejected list " will be there .so again go "options"- "remove " -"selected". :) job done !

I have the same mobile ,the problem is the belt(a wire that connects the screen from the main body is broke.) so when u frequently use the slide ,its breaks making the light support to ur screen fails.Once the belt is break its screen stays off.But ! if u switch of the phone,then slide it open ,then switch on again.. its will work but once its on and if u slide down its fails again. My advice is save all contacts and remove password (since u cant slide up and type password) ,once all set and u have a back up ,either repair it ..(it may cost $35 ) or best is get a new phone,reason being exactly after one year of repairing the same problem arises again.

This is NOT a good phone. When setting an event in the calendar, instead of alarming it resets itself. And then it shows 'Alarm missed'. Very inconvenient! Is has been in repair twice, but the problem keeps reoccuring. Now the warrantee period has passed, so I can not thrust my calendar!

anyone who has problem when you close D880, it is but one of the disadvantages of slide up phones. It has flex in both sides that will be torn as time goes by. When your flex is already torn, you can not hear when someone is calling you, even if you will answer the call, you will not hear them talk. Your ringtone, msg tone, alarm also are affected. It needs to be replaced as soon as you can experience all of these

I bought the D880 in December 2009 without warranty. I primarily use a Nokia E71, and the purpose behind buying a dual sim phone was to keep my other two numbers active. I take very good care of my phones. However, it was heart breaking to see the poor quality of this Samnsung set. Its on-off button stopped working and I took it for repair. The technician replaced the ribbon cable (original) and it worked for just a few days ... max 7-8 days of sparing use. It again broke down and I had to get the ribbon cable replaced again. Now I am looking forward to finding someone who wants this phone. I would strongly recommend that people steer clear of this nasty set. The good things ... well, just the battery life and signal strength.

its a nice phone, nothing more. one big MINUS is that every time u type an sms message the phone itself doesnt save a copy of the sms in the outbox, it asks u every time if u want to send and save the message, its really annoying every time to ask u if u want to save the message or not, either it should have saved it or not at all...

This is the worst phone, I have ever used. It is plagued with problems. I bought this phone last May, by August the Keypad had stuck,got it repaired, then by December, the same thing happened again. Got it fixed again, by March it was down again all with the same problem. Samsung refused to change the phone, just upgrading it all time. There only did this so the warranty would run out and guess what the warrranty has run out and guess what? The phone has broken down once again. I bought this phone whilst I was on holiday in the UK last year. So not only did it cost me 150pounds to buy, but it has cost me more money and time sending it back to the UK to get it repair each time! I would never ever recommend this phone for anyone to buy neither would I ever buy Samsung again. I will stick to my NOKIA.

I've had my D880 for almost 2 years now and I can say that it has more than lived up to my expectations. I just bought a b5722 touchphone when my D880's flexi finally broke. After 2 months, I decided to have the flexi replaced and reverted back to my good ole' reliable D880. If you're not much into fancy phones and want a reliable dual sim phone. I would highly recommend this phone. Trick is to minimize the use of the slider to extend the usage life of the flexi e.g. no need to slide open the phone when reading messages or answering the phone. Overall a good, solid phone.

on the side there is a button to choose which sim. go into contacts and at the bottom of the screen is the 2 sims. click left side button to change sim before making call. works the same way when going to send texts. hope ths helps

I bought the phone in February 2009 expecting to use it longer than a year but it has disappointed me with a flexi belt because it needed to be replaced in March 2010 wereas I was thinking to push up to about two years. i've been using this phone for two years now....the performance is great expecially being a dual sim..he battery lasts for 3 days if not used excessively. the only problem for sliding phones is the flex. i had it repaired for 3 times now...symptoms are: no more sound from the speaker (can't play music, can't hear a call) distorted display image, and unfunctioning keys

I used This phone for over 2 years now. No problems, no hangings, the 2 sims work simultaneously, you can be called from one during you talk from the other, battery is a little small for a business phone (Maybe a 1500 mAh would be better). For me was very resistive, I dropped it many times, and no problem. The menu is very easy to work with (for some people maybe a little slow, but not all of us are speed typers), a lot of features, I think most of users don't need more. Long story short, a very good phone for those who have 2 sims and don't use 3G or WiFi.

acquired a D880 a little over a year ago and my experience with it has been most dissapointing. I bought mine here in Lusaka, Zambia. At first I was excited about the prospect of using two sims with one phone but that excitement was shartered soon after. I have lost track of how many times I've had to take it for repairs. I would never take a chance agaion with sumsang in as far dual sim phone's is concerend. I eagerly await a similar innovation from Nokia, perhaps they'll do a better job.

I have used D880 for 9 months, much better than chinese dual sim phones.It does well with internet as a modem.Both sim cards work well on both sending and receiving texts and voice calls.Samsung must improve on the speed of the phone bit slow,you need to press a send button several times in order to send text.you need to reboot in order to fully use the other sim card.Switching to memort card and use the songs there is abit tricky.Otherwise i like it, good phone good battery life for three days heavy use.

When making call before you press green button you can switch to other SIM just by pressing the small side button. This button switches from SIM1 to SIM2 and vice versa

I recently purchased D880. The only reason I went for a brand other than Nokia was this set's ability to handle two SIM cards at the same time. Its battery life is very good, no complaints about that. It comes with a PC suite which helps transfer the data to and from the phone. However, since I have very large number of contacts, and almost all of them have multiple numbers, I found that upon transfer of data, only one entry against each field was copied. The phonebook has maximum 1000 entries. Regarding ease of use, this set requires some getting used to.

Yes. You can receive messages or calls on both networks concurrently. You have to choose however, through which network you will answer, both voice calls and messages. It is very easy to change the primary sim card, practically just afew button presses. The phone needs to re-boot, however.

i've used a D880 since January 2007 and i must say, its a brilliant phone. Does the job of two phones for the price of one. has a few drawbacks though...the audio quality on the secondary sim is not that good and sounds kind of hollow (you need to experience it to understand what i'm talking about). Again, the phone froze every once in a while (once every 5 months or so which quite reasonable), but that problem went away as soon a s i restarted the phone. On a scale of 10, i'd give the D880 between 8.5 and 9.

I've already had my d880 fixed twice because of the white screen. Apparently it had problems regarding the "flex" since it's a slide phone. I might sell this and get a d780 instead coz if my d880 wasn't a slide phone, i would never exchange it for any other phone anymore. Good phone, except for its slide feature.

The phone is supposed to reboot when you change the Primary sim card. for everyday use.. when you want to make a call or message, just press the "SIM MANAGER" button before pressing the green button. This allows you to toggle between the Primary and Secondary Sim Card. If you press the SIM MANAGER button whilst the phone is on standby it takes you the Sim Cards Management screen which allows you to change the primary card. The SIM MANAGER button can be found on the left side of the phone just above the volume keys.

After I have had this phone under hard usage for the 1,5years the screen doesn't stay on for somereasons have checked backlightsettings and operation settings on the phone still shutsdown the screen and doesn't boot it up maybe a connector that has failed. I'm happy with the phones regular performance, sms, voicecalls ecetera, the camera aint good but it works, bluetooth with songs does work but it drains the battery 8hours but that aint so bad, same as my other phones ex nokia 6230 that I had. I'm happy with the phone. Though I thought it would last a bit longer without major issues when 1,5years of hardusage. I like the simple change of sim card calling for sms or calls, but some other user shortcuts would make the phone even better for mainusers experience. Example I would like to have possible to use utms also but this would drain the battery even more.

D880 doesn't allow you to block private calls, only the ones which number is shown. In all recent models you have the option to block private numbers (hidden callers). If you demand this on a DuoS then I'll advise you to get a C5212 or B5702 as they both can reject private numbers.

Seems this is country-specific. My unit was made for Latin America and it doesn't record call conversation unfortunately. Some user in Malaysia with C5212 says he can record conversations normally as this option appears afer pressing left softkey during a call. Go figure.

Dear sender I have used samsung mobiles A800 and E900 and second one had this feature: two modes for sending message. At the time of sending, you could choose to "save & send" OR send. Unless you choose, save and send, a copy in outbox would not be saved. It is very useful when you save the same message to 100s, such as a joke. At other times it is annoying. I wish there were a warning about "not saving" single receipient messages.

i will buy samsung d880 on the 15th of this month. and i am a bit worried but excited coz this is going to be my first time to buy a samsung phone coz i always use sony. i still have my sony w960i and its brilliant, i just wanted to add another phone on my list so that i could use 2 sims @ a time. im a globe user and i want to add smart and sun on my list by purchasing this phone so that it won't be inconvenient on my part to add another 2 phones just to have those networks. where can i find the samsung service center in greenhills? can you please tell me? thanks!

My Samsung D880 has started screen malfunction. Sometimes the screen will go blank, sometimes it goes wobbly. This, has been experienced atleast from two other users. I think Samsung need to go to their Lab and conduct screen check on this model.

haven't tried this personally yet but it might work. go to Settings then to Memory Settings. Go to Default Memory then to Message Download. make Memory Card your default. Good luck.

bought this phone primarily of its 2-sim capacity. considered getting the myPhone units and other China-made units but their camera resolution sucks. wanted the black one but it was unavailable. the silver kinda grows on me so i'm beginning to like it. capturing an image is slow compared to my wife's Nokia 6288 but with the right lighting the resolution is great. one time i caught the phone restarting by itself. i dunno if updating the software will get rid of it. other than that i'm very happy with my unit. the envious look i get from my peers is priceless especially with the silver almost mirror-like finish.

Good Phone. both sims work @ the same time, you will however need to choose your primary sim thus making it hectic while recharging or if u need to make a call using the other "secondary" sim. Opera Mini does'nt support the D880.... hence making the browsing experience an expensive one :( The Camera quality is good. While Nokia phones tend to hang when u insert high end memory cards e.g. 1gb the samsung has no such issues. Generally D880 is an awesome phone and a good value for money.

Hi Sam, Did you ever sort out the 'sms initialising' error message you were getting? I have the same problem. I live in Kenya and I cannot use both a Safaricom and Zain card together. Either alone works well but not together which defeats the purpose for which I bought the phone!!

Ok flex is a tiny cord conecting your phone together.If its not in place your phone will start giving signals like error preview,screen mal functioning and co.D880 is a nice phone but u need to understand it.Dont be careless with it,dont let it drop if its possible.

A bridge cable is the same as a flex cable.A problem with the flex/bridge cable causes the display and sound to have problems. If you've noticed the speaker and display are both on the upper half of the phone. After a while the bridge cable gets strained from opening and closing so it becomes faulty.

You need to replace the bridge cable; the cable that connects the lower half to the upper half of the phone. Been having the same problems last month with my d880. But apparently the cable i bought is kinda faulty so the sound and display problems are returning

no it is not slow at all in the menu.. but when u switch on the phone it a minute to start caues it has to open up 2 sims...so its ok...

Feels solid to the hand but sometimes creaks which is quite normal for sliders. Samsung OS looks great and brilliant but there are no available downloadable themes, only wallpapers. Not that text friendly because keyboard is a bit cramped but good for average use. Boots a bit long, especially when a new SIM is inserted; well, even when you restart with the same SIMs reinitialization takes long too. Call quality exceptional, battery life lasts for 2 days with me with normal use. Memory card not hot-swappable. I give it a 7/10, but 10/10 in terms of call quality and looks.

This week will be one year of heaving my D880, ppl I can just say it rocks, battery life is still the same, I can play radio all night long and in the morning still I will have the same bar shown on my screen, the dual sim issue:I never had any problems with it, I can receive, call and send, from both sim's without any problem, only the slide is loosen a bit(from using to much of course) in general I'm very very happy with it it was worth every cent

Actually, I used to configure the phone thru the SIM management menu everytime I use the other SIM (not the primary) in sending a message or calling a number. But I kept on telling myself that there's something wrong with the procedure since it will reboot the phone everytime I change the primary SIM. So I explored the phone until I 'accidentally' pressed the said button. LOL!

no 1 disappointment is battery life.And replacement batteries even showroom or service centers do not carry.Audio is poor.Cotact back up fails in outlook express with names only.So my purpose of 2 Sim is served only carrying one phone that's it.Rest i will not advice any one.Except it is better than Chinese phone with similar specs but they give at least 2 batteries as they know it you will be buying it last time.I thing Samsung forgot that !!!

I have placed a couple of MP3 on the memory card of my D880. I am wondering why some of the songs are not playing correctly (i.e. the song starts at 0:02 instead of 0:00).. These MP3s are played correctly on my K770i phone.

I hate this phone. I bought my d880 last September. Unfortunately, the first sim slot is now not working. According to samsung service center I have to leave the cellphone for 7 days or maximum of 2 weeks so that they can observe it. I hate samsung!!! I bought my phone for 14,750 php.

It generally works ok, but voice quality is very poor. Trying to use an mp3 melody as ringtone the sound is so soft you can't hear it at all, even at max volume. Worst of all synchronisation with outlook is extremely poor: Before the software was updated the phone would overwrite outlook data no matter what setting is used. Be careful, you may wipe out your complete outlook address book!!!Software has been updated but is still poor and synchronization is far from complete. Don't buy if you need this feature.As a previous Nokia and Sony Ericsson user I don't like the Samsung's menu logic at all, e.g. push the central button 6 times to take and preserve a photo? yuck!

ok here are some answers for ur questions and more info - both cards are active simultaneously - which means when u get a call to sim 2 while ur talking to someone with sim 1 the sim 2 wont be deactivated u will still get the call to sim 2 so u can hold the conversation on sim 1 and answer to sim 2 incoming calls . well i never had that i mean its been a few weeks after i brought this phone and i didnt get any calls to sim two while im talking on sim one . (i gave up this phone already and im satisfied with my s.e. k850i now) for more info google your question . well at least i dont think call conference is possible on both sims at once lol . no they dont give away two batteries (fake chineese phone models comes with two batteries but not originals) so dont fall for the two battery trick of chineese fake dual sim mobiles . battery life is the same on most of the samsungs except for high end samsung models . for the few weeks i used this phone i had to charge this phone at least once every two days . (and thats on minimum usage) if i get a call for like 3 hours or less than that or if im answering a call for that long the battery drains fast . well the battery life depends on how u use it so cant say for sure . please be aware that this phone does not have 3g so internet speeds might be slower than 3g phones . plus no video calls can be taken . speaker sounds out side is in a ok condition . but its not that loud doesnt live up to my style of volume . but with headset on when ur listening to music its gonna be smooth still wont live upto the hype like s.e. walkman or k series models . the image quality of its camera is amazing i never thought it will give so much quality in day light pictures but dont take any nigh shots cuz its without flasher , it wont do any good . im satisfied with the menu and the interface it looks awsome . web browser of this phone is very bad i mean very very very bad on doing what a web browser does . it wont even fit ur web pages to the screen automatically . so the only thing u should like in this phone is that it got dual sim . nice user interface . good camera with autofocus but sadly without any type of flasher . dont even think about using it for music cuz the battery will drain faster .

The phonebook/contacts is only for 1 sim card and when I add a contact it disappears and I can't locate it again on the phonebook, list..where is it stored? i have the phone and sadly im not really happy with the battery life (from my expirience samsung got the worst battery life in cellphones) however i really like the menu and interface . plus its dual sim so i can use it with two sims . loudness of music and quality is ok over the headset but outside with the speakers its very low . no phone is 100% perfect we gotta live with that and each phone got its uniq quality level and options . camera of this phone is great enough for taking pictures in day light . go for it if u want a phone without 3g support but with dual sim . bye .

While selecting call number from your phonebook page, press the upper button at left side of phone. You will see that lowest line on the screen shows SIM1 and SIM2 options and one of them should be highlighted and will be replaced when you press this small button. Select your operator then press the call button . That's all. No need to reboot.

It cannot be simply said whether D780 or D880 is better. D880 has a better camera but it is a slider so it seems less convenient (at least for me). If I wanted to buy one, I would choose D780. But if you still have doubts, you should read the reviews.

why are there instances that my phone doesnt function? the phone doesnt respond when i press any key (or even if slide it open) except for the upper right button (above the power button), which justs lights the phone. on the lcd, it says, "call SOS?" does this mean my phone hangs? or is my unit defective? or i just have to change a certain setting? but which setting is it? when this happens, i just remove the battery and open the phone again. its kinda irritating coz it happens almost everyday. please give me a feedback. thanks.

Lured by the double sim specification,I changed my K800i and bought a D880. While the two sims function excellently at the same time, other features of the phone are just awful! 1: The key pad is very very difficult to use in the dark. 2: The phone can't be used for any other purpose except attending an incoming call while an SMS is being sent. 3: While writing SMS, one is not able to insert a vertical space. 4: The phone doesn't support auto configuration of internet settings. 5: Items stored in the phone and memory card can't be viewed simultneously. I'm regretting my decision but its too late now!

you have an mms problem, check your mms profile setting, some time the mms wap or gprs profile setting is not the same as the default wap or gprs profile of the phone (yes yes, mms can have its own gprs profile), so you will have to change it manually cheers

The camera is so useless. You have to press the button for at least 2 to 3 seconds before it will capture the picture. By then, your subject would have already moved, thereby blurring the picture. Oh well......

I'm a Nokia phone user for a long time and i thought this D880 will make the step to switch to another brand; BUT sadly,,, greatly disappointed.. :'( It was the best of the dual card phones available, the reason i got it.. OK! The phone looks good in terms of design, although personally i don't prefer the slide type.. I've been using it for two months and dropped it once but nothing wrong happened with it.. Heavy duty.. The camera is far less than you expect for 3MP, in addition to the bad quality of images that you get if the thing you are shotting is moving even slight movement. The camera sittings and options are great but useless with this bad camera.. Getting used to Nokia smart menus and easy options, i'm struggling doing multiple message-deleting or even sending a text.. The software is really stupid and the theme personalisations are veeery limited.. Don't let the attractive Samsung colors of the screen disguise you because soon you'll discover that they're the only nice fetures when using it.. Talking about the Duos function its the best available but still so annoying that you cannot send an sms or call from the secondary SIM without rebooting (which takes 40 seconds on average).. The worst part for me that you cannot manage keypad lock by yourself AT ALL..!! You have to wait 15 seconds till the screen automatically turns off and this happens whatever you're doing and on any screen.. The keypad locks once you are dialing a number and if you want to end it lags for several seconds; besides, you will need to unlock it again.. If you are a non-Samsung user, you'll discover the numerous annoying features of this phone.. My friends told me that other versions of samsung do not have the same problems.. Anyway, i'm SoOoOoOoOo disappointed using his phone and really regret it to the point that i don't want using two SIM cards anymore and wished to return it one week after buying it.. Pleeeeease Do NOT buy this phone..

The quality of the material is not the best but is quite acceptable. The battery cover could be much more stiff and firm. I've realised that it has a very good camera in daylight shots. Its menus are very simplyfied and easy. I find very good the calendar and the internet browser. In addition if you install the java opera mini 4.1 you'll have a very powerfull browser, compatible with nearly every site in internet. What I find in general bad is the battery consuption. Under a mediocre usage I've to charge it at least every two days. However there is some solutions about that. Firstly try lowering the brightness of the screen and enable a short period of time for the dim function . Disable the brightness in keypads as long as you don't realy need it . Secondly if you really don't want both sims activated at all times is easy to deactive one of them without rebooting the phone, such a thing will prolonge the battery life at least one day. Thirdly the radio FM and the Gprs especialy with the use of java Opera mini 4.1 will drain the battery after a few hours. Fourthly avoid the permanent activation of bluetooth for the use of wireless headset. Use the wire headset instead and by deactiving the bluetooth you'll save much power. The policy of samsung is to use different batteries for nearly every model in order to make the use of no name batteries difficult. Such a thing is really incovinient since the phone under normal use don't have big stamina and the need of spare battery is imminent. I guess the the reason of the low battery duration is its size, which is relatively very small for the size of the phone. Somehtings else I find anoying is that when I connect the phone to PC in mass storage mode I can't receive or make phone calls. The maximum size of microSD that operates normaly is 2 Gbytes and that is really very low when there is in the market HighCapacity microSD of 8 Gbytes reasonably priced. Also is imposible to change microSD cards without turning off the phone since it's situated behind the battery. The media player of the phone is very basic but not bad at all and it plays mp3 and 3g videos. The size of phone is quite big but is reasonable since it operates constantly with two different sims. Keep in mind the only the first sims provide full mobile services at three band mode. The second sim is in only dual band mode and offer only phone call and sms. So be carefull at the first installation of sims. The side button for sellecting instantly the sim you need is really good. If you ignore the dual sim function it's very overprised with similar single sim mobile phones. Nevertheless is very reasonably priced an I'd say unique with the constant dual sim support it offers.

Outer frame shinibg paints peels after 90 days normal use and scraches on screen being plastic. Sam has to improve its trade mark is looks gorgeous but finish horrible and fittings sub standard. Still it has not opted for any OS jumping on symbian WM or its own Dud one.Omnia or others have never clicked except innvo8 being symbian only. N95 after 2 years excepy cam. The Samsung D880 is the biggest �POS� phone that I have ever purchased. I thought having two SIMs was an brilliant idea as I work in two countries, I wouldn�t have to lug two phones and power supplies around with me any longer. BOY WAS I WRONG. The D880 has only given me enormous amounts of grief. Here�s why: 1) I can�t sync outlook 07 calendar because it�s always out by -11 hrs (and yes my PC and phone are set to the same time zone). So it absolutely useless for using it as a diary! Which is very important for me work wise 2) Address book won�t go into �Last Name, First Name� mode. it will only stay in �First Name, Last Name� mode regardless of what you configure in the Address book set-up menu. Again very very frustrating from a business/office side of the phone. 3) And the �icing-on-the-cake� is that the battery cover is so poorly fitted to the phone that it always & I mean always falls off every time I either take it out of my pocket or Cell phone holder! 4) I�ve tried contacting Samsung support (via E-mail) regarding the Syncing side of things and have had no reply at all! 5) The voice quality would have to be the worst I have ever experienced with a cell phone and that is listening and talking as people I talk to can�t hear me properly �they say it always drops out� 6) The slide mechanism feels cheap and nasty (because it is). Anybody who is thinking about this phone should really think twice about it (pardon the pun) . I thought having two SIMS in the one phone was a good Idea but I will never NEVER buy another Samsung POS phone AGAIN!

what i meant was the sms in my inbox. you have to manually transfer the text messages to the phone from the sim card. regarding bluetooth, if i set it, it only goes to my bluetooth devices. not the part where you can turn it on/off.

you need to go to the phone settings, then choose option 13: memory settings and chose option 3 that is default memory and change the settings there for your memory card. everytime you remove the card keep the phone switched off cause if you dont, it reverts to phone memory. to turn on or off the bluetooth in a short way, you will need keep bluetooth in your My Menu settings. only time you will need to restart your phone is if you change the primary sim option.

The memory, u need to take out ur battery while if you do have a external memory card Reader. try to use that and connect to your com to download ur stuff in it. MicroSD need an adapter to slot into Card Reader then only can download item from ur computer to ur Card.

I just bought this mobile yesterday ($254 in Saudi Arabia). Both Sim Cards work at the same time. You can make calls from both sims without rebooting. Just click on the left button and it will switch to the 2nd sim. When you call using primary sim, you can hear the voice of the other person clearly and he can hear you same as Nokia phones. But when you use the 2nd sim (not primary) voice will be low (just OK) but the other person said to me I can hear you clearly. It�s fast. Nice screen. Looks good from inside and outside. For the camera, it is of course not like New Nokia 5MP phones. If you need dual sim mobile, go for it since dual sim function works perfect on it and its cheep with good quality and warranty not like the Chinese garbage.

Recently my D880 has been having a problem. It started with the screen just going white. This did not appear to be a serious issue initially. However, after about two days, i discovered that the sound was not coming out again. While calling i could not hear the voice of the person i was talking to. Then after some time the nature of the problem changed from sound to screen lighting. The screen light does not show any longer. It just remains dark. When i look intensely at the dark screen i was able to see the text on the screen. This means the phone appears to be working well, but the lighting gone dead! Has anyone encountered a similar problem or has an ideas as to how to solve this problem?

Sound setting is in the Setting's menu, and then press select in "phone settings" In the "phone settings" sub menu we will find Phone Profile. Press OK and then we will find Profile setting. i've been toying with the capabilities for a few days now..i'd say it's not too bad, functionaly (altho i use the slave sim for sms receipt only). one BIG thing tho, is the mp3 function: 4 playlists with max 30 songs each..and i've almost 2gb worth of songs! that's really a bummer..and last thing..maybe it's just me..but my primary sim is supposed to show 400 contacts..of which some i don't see even if i set my setting to view ALL! am i missing any setup or config here? would appreciate your tips, guys!

It is a good phone for batery, and for photo. But is not good for the main reason that i bought it. It doesnt works at the same time with both sims. I bought a Samsung D880, I must say the phone is good, the one problem I had was access to the memory card which i had removed from my E250 and after reading the reviews and especially Baalco's guidance on accessing the card "my honeymoon is complete" if there was a way they should have put that instruction in the book... good phone :-)

james, so have you ever used this phone? i bought mine in the philippines too, everything you say is wrong, both sims are active, you can text from either with the press of one dedicated button, no need whatsoever to reboot. if you want to sell the chinese phones thats fine but their build quality is very poor.

If you would like change the primary phone from sim 1 to sim 2 you need to reboot (only just for preference because if you want call with out select as item #1 above automatically phone will prioritize to primary phone number.

hi temmy, there is a button in the left hand of the phone that u could press to switch between lines for both sms & calls, so u need not booth & rebooth the phone. I have just found out about it today at the hand phone dealer after using it for nearly 6 mths as the manual does not say anything about it inlcuding any short cuts.

There is a serial bug on the software. All my cntacts are on one sim card. When looking for a contact to call, by pressing "T" I am lead to all names that start with "T". The bug is, when one sim card is disabled, and I press "T", I see only one contact whose name starts with "T". When I go down, it jumps to names that start with "Z". Did anyone notice? I see many people saying that to make a call from secondary SIM, they have to reboot the phone. And many other say otherwise, that you simply need to press the side button before pressing the green button. With mine it's exactly like that; perhaps Samsung made 2 different firmwares? One that allows making calls from the secondary SIM and another that doesn't? It puzzles me that so many people insist they have to reboot their phones to place a call from the secondary SIM. It's hard to believe they are simply dumb! It's got to be more than that.

Yes, you can make calls from the secondary sim without rebooting the phone: by pressing the sim-switch button. When the secondary sim is highlited, then just press the green/call button. This procedure is also apply when you send messages.

You can set both sims active at the same time as receiving calls and messages. However, to make calls or send messages, you have to decide which sim to use by pressing the sim switch button, (located on top of the volume button) before pressing call or send button. Yet, you can not use both sims at the same time, that's impossible!

Its not true. One SIM is default, other is secondary. You can receive from both SIMs, but to make call from secondary SIM you have to swith to it by rebooting the phone. Its not convenient.

For me this is a perfect phone. Yes, call is coming from both sim card, your choice is from which sim you will make call, default again by your choice or by presing one side butonn to change second sim to make call.Your voice can be recorded and make it ringing call or answering machine work also perfect

I have this phone and I am unable to set a mp3 song as ringtone. On the other hand I am able to set it as a specific caller id (ringtone for one person), or as alarm tone. The only problem I am experiencing is that java games, once saved into my 'other files' folder, are automatically saved and activated in the telephone memory. try to send a new message from an other mobile, do not open the message with view option. go to messages, my messages, inbox, after you read go to next messages using # key. some of the messages are blocking user interface and resulting restart of the phone. permanent solution is installing the software again. I believe samsung does free of charge for this kind of problems

to download the MP3 songs. Take the memory card out and transfer the songs directly. I tried to use the samsung PC studio multimedia manager soft to transfer the songs..however..it cannot recongise the memory card..[weird] Anyway..thats how i transfered the songs onto my phone. Hope that helps.

I want to divert voice calls to secondary sim to another number (same service provider). When I select call settings/voice calls/call diverting/select 2nd sim/divert always/ add the number and select activate, it comes up with Not Available. Anyone tried this and how to fix it? All, I discovered u could actually install java games/appz greater than 512kB, as I installed an appz of 2100KB ie 2.1MB. What I did was to modify the JAD file by modifying its MIDlet-Jar-Size to be less than 512kB and it install the appz without any problem. However, the size allocated to games/appz is still small at 4M, if anyone knows how to repartition the shared memory pls do post it.

Menu..Settings..Phone Settings..Phone Profile..(here just choose your profile that you want to use!)..Line 1(and 2 after that)..and in the menu that opens you can change your line 1,2 and sms tones..Message alert type, melody and message alert tone as your desired mp3 tone from either 'My sounds' or 'music' Happy tones!

newsflash....solved my problem regarding mp3 files as ringtone. it has to do with size i was using a 11mb file once i shrunk the file to 9mb it worked. i guess this phone has a limitation of 10mb on ur mp3, that is if u want to use the mp3 as ringtone.

As the user R.M.VIJ mentioned this phone as serious issue with the volume, even at max its not good enough. I also noted that the memmory card is just there as a storage device. Is not integrated in the system like Nokias or Erissons are. Lets say you storage some music or photos onto the card and plan to use the music as a ringtone...it wont allow you to. It will only play in the media player. Is there any reason for this?? And more important are there ways to solve this issue, maybe with a firmware upgrade?!?!?! I puchased this D880 mobile about 15 days back mainly to avoid two phones, but I am verymuch disapponted. I was using N70 before that but have found following problums and negetive points in this phone: 1] The music quality is very low as compared to N70. The max volume is very low and you get irritated while listening to music because you do not get the words properly. I visited the Samsung Service Centre to complain butI was told that I should have checked it before purchasing. 2] It a big problum to go to Card by pressing star every time you wish to go to files on the card. 3] There is problum in the second sim as the signal is never proper and voice is also not clear and is always with interuptions. 4] The volume of ringtone is also very low at the max level and sometimes you miss the call when themobileisinother room orin the pocket. I am so much desappointed that Iam ready to sell it for 2500-3000 less within 15 days of purchase.

the D880 is an amazing phone. If you had taken time to look at it you would have noticed that you can actually improve lighting within the camera. It works pretty well but of course you have to use photographic sense man!

Mithun. I also bought the same phone, about 2weeks ago. I have gotten my fair share of disappointments but they are primarily to do with the Java application (as i can't install games, nor download OperaMini. Seriously, the Samsung should issue us with some software updates!) You might have purchased a defective card, coz there is an icon on the screen, should be 2nd left from the battery icon that symbolizes the card. After accessing the folder, MyFiles, the only way to access your card should be by pressing either * or #(and here Samsung needs to improve. I cant access my card without sliding the phone!!!) For recharging, still have no problem with duration, but i think Samsung borrowed a leaf from makers such as of I-mate, to combine the charging, handsfree and data cable slots in one. Why, ask me another. Am still learning new stuff from my phone(like how to set an mp3 tone as my sms tone) so dont bash Samsung just yet. Coming from a SE i have experienced serious flaws, but am not trashing my phone just yet.

I am not 100% sure but it is very unlikely that it supports 4GB cards, because 4GB SD cards are SD-HC (High Capacity) and their requirements are higher than usual SD cards.

To all with the Optus killed phones. I have found the solution!! I sent my phone back to Hong Kong, where it was purchased, and my sister in law took it in to the shop. Since she did not have my pin code, for the phone, the shop told her she would have to pay $300 HK, about 40 USD, to unlock the phone. When they unlocked the phone the Optus message was gone and the phone was working. I guess any Samsung repair center could de the same. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have the same issue. Sorry for the bad news but unfortunately you/we can't fix the problem because the issue relates to the firmware and a 'system spike' caused by the optus sim card. I just took delivery of mine last night, charged it up, inserted the optus (and a virgin) sim card and bang, the phone was spiked by the optus card and now I get exactly the same message. Apparently the phone is effectively rendered useless from this point on and will no longer work regardless of what sim you/we now try to insert. Do you think the bloke in Hong Kong who I bought it off is interested in refunding me? No way, this is a 'software' issue he says and not the fault of the phone. There's $400 down the toilet right there.

Bathiya, If I understood your prob right, then I dont think you need to hold Line 1 again after you accept call from Line 2 .. all you need to do is to switch between the 2 active calls using the " side botton" which is used to switch between sim1 and sim2. one click on that booton will switch your mic and speakeers to the other line .. where line one will still active but with no voice transfer.

Simly you can use one sim only on Tri band mode. in other word, in USA you can't use 2 sim at the same time.

tho the output is low, its amazingly clear. no static or jumbled sounds. i just got the phone yesterday because i prefer samsung over myphone and needed a dual sim. i prefer the sleeker phone but with the dual sim, 1 phone with 2lines beats duct taping 2 slim phones together. still tinkering with it but it does what a phones supposed to do.

For me, this is a good phone which is 100% suit for my requirement. cause I'm using my private sim & office sim. Only problem, I have is when I'm in a call of line 1, when the line 2 call is coming; I can hold the line 1 & answer the line 2. For installing Java apps: upload the .jar and .jad files to "Other Files" folder then go to that folder, highlight the .jad file and chooser "Install" from options menu. Then the app will appear in the "Java World" menu. Message tones: With a newer firmware you can choose anything (including mp3) as a message tone. Mine phone has D880XAHB3 and I can use .mp3, .mid etc. There's a newer european firmware - D880XAHB4 and it probably (I read it on the net) adds option to save incoming messages to the phone.

Dear All, i just got the phone a couple of days ago, i like it too much as it really helped me facing the problem of 2 SIMs....i have two questions: 1- i'm travelling to Florida USA next week, will the phone be working there if i placed a sim card from USA? there must be different software versions about ? mine has no answering facility under setings-call settings-all calls mine says answering mode and has only automatic answer or any key answer ?. maybe this is why some are having problems swapping sims with out rebooting ? mine is the version which doesn't say DOUS on the slider !

You can swith easily from sim 1 to sim 2 without booting by pressing the little button on the left side. Unfortunately this is not explained adequately in the instruction manual. Having found the button every thing is very easy. Concerning the regulation of the volume I found out, that if you make the MP3-player louder the whole telephone behaves similar: the phonecalls get louder too.

Buying this phone is like buying a whole bakery and then realizing that there is restriction imposed on selling bread ! The phone is useless just for the reason that it doesnt perform "active line swapping" between sim1 & sim2.

The D880 has an answering machine, You can access it by going to "Settings", then "call settings", then "all calls", then "answering machine". Where you can enable/disable and record your own greeting massage.

Only the GSM technology uses SIM cards, CDMA does not USE SIM cards, if your question is if the phone can operate with two different companies, then the answer is yes...

yo hani: the secret code for this phone is *#0206*8378#. Do it at your own risk. Please save your original data settings. I did able to increase the audio volume to my phone, especially on text messaging tone. Now is too loud, and no option to lower the text msg tone. So i put it on silent when i am going indoors.

I have just bought the 880 it works well on both cards and so fan no issues BUT I need some advise on changing the SIM 1 or SIM 2 optrions names. Whne I push clear it backspaces then allows me to enter name BUT says (in brackets) No Name? next to each. it is more of an irritation rather than an operation issue but still would like to solve it.

hi Brian, To setup mms ask your network provider (in my case t-mobile) to send you the mms settings for the samsung d840 these should work on the d880 as this is what worked for me. Rohan

Problems with earpiece speaker volume being too low when making or receiving calls when using Sim 2. Today I phoned Samsung UK and told them about this problem and the woman I spoke to said this. Firstly she said that the D880 DUOS has not been officially released in the UK. Secondly she said that the low volume could be due to the fact that Sim 2 uses a thinner line. What does she mean by "thinner line". Also she said "If you suspect a problem with your phone I should send it back" I told her that Samsung should release a Firmware Update.

I also purchased this phone, and tried an Optus sim card, which immediately crashed the phone. Samsung should put out a clear warning regarding Optus sim cards. If anyone gets a fix for the problem it would be greatly appreciated.

I have just bought the D880 Duos and I have noticed that the earpiece speaker volume on Sim 2 is not as loud as Sim 1 when making or receiving a call. I think Samsung should address this problem with a software update for this phone. On my old Samsung D900 I could access the hidden menu with this code (*#8999*8378#) and change the volume settings,but this code does not work on the D880 Duos. Does anyone know of a different code?

As one or two other owners have found - Optus chips kill this phone stone dead. The phone tries to find an icon file from Optus' internet site, gets a 404, and then starts endlessly recycling through the boot process. Removing the Optus chip doesn't solve it: the phone is rendered useless. I killed one phone in Hong Kong, took it back and had it replaced, and then, on arriving back in Australia, switched to the Optus chip, and the phone was dead before I got off the plane. Samsung Australia engineers are baffled "not a model we support, Mate", and the matter is now in the hands of the Korean general manager at the Sydney service centre who is alive to the commercial issues at stake - but no better able to fix the phone, replace the stuck OS, or explain what's wrong or how to prevent it happening again. Beware of Optus SIMs! Goodness knows if other Aussie SIMS are as lethal - at USD700 a pop I've given up experimenting.

if you plan to use verizon wireless for this phone, good luck. This phone use GSM band only. All GSM phones uses SIM card. Verizon wireless use called CDMA band. CDMA phones uses no SIM card.

ive got d880 here in dubai (without duos logo) and it works perfectly. both sim can be used for incoming and outgoing calls without the need of rebooting the phone. others might be trying to use it for 2 different network band causing the phone to reboot. other issues such as the physical attributes is in everyone's discretion so better not to talk about it.

i dont know why people are saying about phone reboots to call on sim 2 ? Follow these instructions no reboot required Go to your phonebook view/open the number to call and press the sim control button on the left side of the phone (above the volume button)to shift from Sim1 to Sim2. the sim 2 lable on the screen turns white from sim 1 and press call button ! sim one is still set to the primary sim but you just do the above to ring out on the sim 2 works 100% so dont panic about having to make sim 2 the primary to call out. the way above is simple and fast.

i will also repeat this answer as lots are still asking the same question again. if you have 2 sims in and wish to change between sims to call/text YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REBOOT THE PHONE. just press the small sim button on the lh side and select which sim you wish to use. job done

cant understand the comments made below about how your friends and collegues will wonder where you are ? maybe yours is faulty ? i have now had mine a week and its in the UK on Sim 1 Orange and Sim 2 is on PAYG Virgin and its been brilliant so far, coverage on both sims is very good for signal, its never dropped a call and is a piece of cake to swap between sim's by pushing the sim selection button on the left hand side of the phone. the battery was charged on Tuesday afternoon and tonight its still showing 3/4 of its capacity. the slide mechanism is tight with no slack opens and shuts with a quality feel. about all i can say really as i'm pleased with mine.

just remember the US works on 850/1900Mhz and this phone only has 1900. it's no problem if you go with T-Mobile cause that's the only one they use but if you're with ATT, you might have a lot of dead spots.

Very Good phone t use If you want to be undisturbed by the continuous incoming calls. Your friends and associates will start wondering where have you vanished to. People trying to reach you will constantly receive the message "Out of coverage area" or they will hear a ring but you will not even know about it until they confront you. occasionally when you get connected people will hang up on you because they will not be able to hear you clearly. Very GOOD phone to give people the impression that you are VIP having 2 mobile but yet enjoy the peace of being undisturbed by the telephones. This phone will be a blot on the samsung name. Can anyone please help me with some questions? 1) I read somewhere about a guy ranting that he could not fill up his 2GB memory card with music. He was only allowed to put 120 songs and only make 4 playlists (max) with 30 songs each (max). Is this true? 2) Also how is the music player? Is it easy to make playlists? Is all music dumped into a single folder and I have to pick and choose what to add to what playlist? Or can I put music in different folders? 3) Finally, how is the volume? Is it soft like a Moto Ming or is the earphone volume good? Is speaker volume for listening to music good (loud and clear) or is it poor like those HTC phones?

Just Bought the samsung d880 and i can tell you it has solved one of the biggest problems for me..using one phone for two networks... makes for easier carriage and it has a fantastic interface. Its a bit lean on features even though you have bluetooth, media player and nice memory. what i'm not sure about is wether we have 3g on the phone. All together a very good buy

A minor mp3 player bug. Few days ago I've got a D880 and it works well. However, its music player doesn't recognize long names. I mean that mp3 files with long names, once transferred form my pc to my d880 were invisible. I had to rename them to let the player recognize them, e.g. "Antonio Vivaldi - Anne-Sophie Mutter - 1 Concerto in E Op. 8 No. 1 Spring Allegro.mp3" became visible once renamed in "1 Spring Allegro.mp3".

To Pinay, Once you already established your primary (Sim1) and Secondary (Sim2) sim, switching from one Sim to another is very easy. Follow the procedure below: Voice Call - Go to your phonebook view/open the number to call and press the button on the left side of the phone (above the volume button)to shift from Sim1 to Sim2. Take note that your call will be charged to Sim1 if no selection made. Messaging - Write your message and then press send only or send and save (defending on your option)and press the button on the left side of the phone (above the volume button)to shift from sim1 to sim2. If no sim selection made, your message will be sent via Sim1. You can also answer or replu a message using the other sim by pressing the sim selection buttom. Some D880 user cannot find the files saved on their Memory Card. You can view your file by pressing MyFiles and press # (the button below 9)and you can see that your memory shift from Phone to Card. I bought Samsung D880 five days ago;the phone looks great and promissing but the Users Manual is very badly written;Infact it is condemnable for a company like Samsung to supply an unfriendly User's Manual for her products. The SETTINGS, THE MENUS,THE APPLICATIONS,THE BROWSING GUIDE and the general instructions are written with unexpected assumptions.... I have a Motorola Accompli 008 which I bought since March 2004; I have never experienced any challenge in using the phone becauce the User's Manual was very friendly,well explained.The manual is big enough to be a text book..... Samsung should withdraw all the Users Manual it supplied with D880 and apologized to all her numerous customers for this careless atitudes.... The manual should be simplified and user friendly.....

I bought Samsung D880 about a week ago, I inserted two SIM cards from the two biggest Networks in my Country Nigeria..i.e. MTN Network and Globacom Network. I used MTN as the Primary SIM because I use it more regularly. For mobile internet connection,I configured it manually following their instructions; also I discovered that the D880 Technology is more advanced than the mobile internet connections for MTN Network services..... How ever, after the configuration, I launch the browser and went to Yahoo website, a lot of information came out, but I could not access my mails; I also configured the bookmark setup, tried bbc.co.uk/mobile; Some information came out, I could not access and read the News....any attempt to read the News, there will be pop up message saying:'Error:Cannot resolve hostname' Please,can anybody help to resolve this challenge. I want to know: is the problem from the D880 or from the Network Services Provider or from the SETTING/CONFIGURATION?I will sincerely appreciate if somebody could volunteer to unravel this riddle. Arrived in Australia and my 2 sims (from other countries) were working fine until I inserted the Australian Optus sim card. It rebooted then this line appeared: "/a/operator/idle_optus.ifg". Now no matter what sim card I put in, this message will appear after SIM Initialising, then the phone will reboot itself again (in circle). I tried system reset by typing in *2767*2878# but did not help or change the situation. Can someone help please.

triband is an issue in america. this phone only has triband on 1 sim and dual band on the 2nd sim so only the primary sim works in america. also, triband 1900 only? based on my past experience with triband cellphones, its great outdoors but indoors u get no signal. thats why u need the 850 band. im with at/t btw, which uses 850,1900. t-mobile only uses 1900 but their coverage across the US is less than at/t. so yes quadband is better than triband in USA.

This phone is truly a Dual Standby phone in Asia (particularly in the Philippines) where it works fine. However, in the USA, only 1 sim works at a time. If you want to use the sim, you have to set it as primary and reboot to use the other one. Then do the same procedure to go back to your first sim. this is annoying and not sure why it does this - its not a true dual standby phone if in some countries it works and some countries it doesnt (and USA should be included in Triband so its not a triband issue)

It's a great cellphone, but there's only one foul tha it's crucial to use it here in Brazil, it's not quad-band cellphone, as the second largest operator works unlockeds cells in quadband , i don't know why....but...only using the first ones it's not a big advantage..samsung should work on that.

I have a D880 and it works just fine. While I would like a version that has more features, this will have to do in the mean time. The only problem is synchronizing the phone book with my PC. to onyot: this phone is set up perfectly for the pinoys. I've been using this phone for about 3 months now, and no problem with my 2 sims smart and globe. One sim is for primary, and the other sim is for receiving calls and messages. To place a call, use your primary sim. Philippines is using 2 bands; 900mhz and 1800mhz. I believe the d880 has triband(900, 1800, & 1900mhz) on one sim slot and dual band(900 & 1800mhz) on the other sim slot. So, either sim slot is okay to operate in the Philippines.

Changing Primary Sim: a.) Call - go to phonebook & check mark the number to dial. Press the small buttom at the left side of the phone to ship from Sim 1 to Sim 2 without rebooting the phone. (b.) Text Mesage - write your text message. To send the message follow the same instruction in letter (a) (c.) To view the content of memory card - got My Files and hold the # key and the memory will shift from Phone to Memory Card. One major omission with this phone is its Text Message tone. There are only 4 of them, and the volume is so disappointingly low. Even the ring volume is on the low side. And i can't save the number of the person who texted me, presuming it's not yet in my phonebook.And the sound of line 2 calls is also low, barely audible in crowded places, more so when i'm using the bluetooth headset. Maybe you'd have some software upgrade in the pipeline to address these issues. Otherwise it's an ok phone, i suppose.

Bought the Samsung D880 today. Im from the Philippines. I tried installing the USB Drivers and the Software but whenever i connect the phone it says USB devices attached to this device has malfunctioned. It cant recognize it.. I tried it on both XP Professional and Vista Home. I cant sync it using the software bundled with it coz the software cant detect the phone. I tried using the option on the phone that connects the phone if u want it to be used as a modem or storage device and i forgot the other one it still said USB DEVICE MALFUNCTION. Wassup with that? So far no problems with the photo quality, sound quality of both sim cards.

to sync phone and pc, please use Samsung PC Studio 3 and MS Outlook 2007 it work for me except the calendar and memo.

My D880 won't synchronize contacts from the PC with the given PC Studio 3 Software. Only names get copied and not the numbers. One cannot even edit individual numbers from the PC in the phone. What a disappointment? I have it now for a week and I am still unable to use it because I don't have time to copy my contacts from the previous phone. Samsung response is too poor when I contacted. They don't have a clue. It does not need rocket science to provide an update software with a new phone.

For those who just bought the phone. Someone made a comment that to change the SIM card you need to reboot the phone. NO �NO �NO. You do not need to reboot the phone changing your SIM cards/operators making your calls. Just dial the number and press a tiny button on side of the phone (located above the level control). This will change your SIM card from primary to secondary right away and for this call only. As soon as you finished your call, the phone will go back to the primary SIM card. You will see on a screen how the SIM card gets changed. I LOVE IT!!! Enjoy. Serge

Hi everybody, I bought this phone 2 weeks ago and I think that everything is ok with it except than the sound and voice quality of the second sim card. The headphone and microphone sound qualities are too low for the second sim with respect to the first one. Anyone having this same problem? Waiting your comments. Best regards

Fine it may be the case that the fone is designed for Talking, but still Samsung are misleading their customers if they put in its box software that does not work!! I am referring to Samsung PC Studio 3 which refuses to work with this phone and which comes packaged with the same fone

This is a phone which primary target is TALKING on two lines. Only SIM 1 is tri band slot so because of that people have problem in US Canada and other part of world. Radio works only with earphones because radio antenna is located in them. I have him about 2 months and I'm satisfied. T9 problems, just press and hold button(changing of mode of writting) for couple of seconds pressed and usual Abc or ABC will appear on screen.

Dont bother about getting this to work with pc studio or with sycnronisation. They simply dont work. I am truly disappointed by samsung for providing a fone that does not work with the same software that is provided with the phone in its box! Its just a hoax putting in a cd in the fone s box that is not compatible with the fone itself!!!!!

I found it impossible to connect to PC Studio. and impossible to syncronise with outlook. For me its a major disaster. Its a useless fone if you cannot store your calendar in it properly. So far no one gave me any solutions and Samsung support is poor (or inexistent). I am leaving my email just in case anyone has any ideas!!!!

Have heard that this phone is dual sim phone, however the primary sim slot works on GSM 900/1800/1900 while the secondary sim slot works only on GSM 900/1800. This is a major turn off because most dual sim phone enthusiasts would like to have a phone which runs on triband mode. Has anybody tried using both sim card slots on triple bandwidth?

I have just bought a new D880 and have found quite a few problems. 1) Even with all my efforts I could not synchronise it with MS Outlook/Outlook Express even with PC Studio 3( CD provided in the sales box) 2) All the sent messages do not appear in the sent bx. It always remains at zero messages though I am constantly sending messages. I have contacted the service providers (M/S Mobile Zone) in my country who are providing warranty against it but of no avail. They could also not solve the problem. Please do help me in this regard.

I am from Singapore and I use a Duos, I have no problem here as both SIM of mine is GSM, this also means that I won't have a problem when I roam to countries like china, malaysia etc. But not when I am in USA. In the USA, this phone will only act as a Dual card holder phone and to toggle between two sims you will need to reboot. the blue tooth will have a problem, and I believe that this is one technical aspect which samsung engineers fail to realise. all the 5 models of dual sim, dual standby phones I have from china have this problem, it has a radio conflict and blue tooth will not work with both lines, and sometimes it will just reboot. do not buy this phone if you intend to use it in countries like philipines, USA, Chile etc. but for those who did, this phone will work when you are in countries where by they have GSM providers. by the way, in china dual sim, dual standby phones are common, and they are largely for GSM users. they even have a "public mold" for factories to rent and produce such phones, the only difference is probably the appearance. the one that produces their own proprietory design is Gionee. think the website is www.gionee.com, and still it won't work in the USA etc. Wind duo is different, it combines two seperate phones into one, and I personally dun like it though techinically it is able to avoid radio conflicts by having two of everything. to me, its like tying two phones together with a rubber bung. just remember, this is a dual sim, Dual "standby" phone. but it also depends on what system your service provider has. cheers

It is truly a nice phone but I am having a crazy time trying to sycronise it with outlook. The phone would not work with the software provided with it in the box. I am a bit disappointed. Never had such problems with Nokia before :(

just arrived in new york today, april 2, 2008. i planned to use one smart(philippine) sim and the other with a t-mobile(usa) sim. unfortunately only my primary is active while the second one registered no service. we were not informed beforehand about this problem. if i knew this problem earlier, i would not have bought the samsung 880.
