E950 hasn't been out for two years. Perhaps you have it's predecessor, the E900. I've got an E950, it does look great. the only criticism i have is about the time ittakes to load up the music player which is very sluggish. otherwise a great phone

The phone is good, infact I had a password on my handset which was preventing me from privacy setting, I did a google search and found the following code to hard reset the phone, all the data will be deleted but the phone is reset to factory settings. I've already had this phone for about 7 months and I love it. I paid a little over 200 for it and on my phone, there is no red-colour screen thing, so I suppose it is a theme. My only concern is that it's not as easy to text with this phone than it is with other phones.

Well i just came back from Samsung dealer in egypt and i was just disappointed with this phone..i paid the money and held the phone in my hands and tried it and then from my 5 minutes try..let me tell u this..if you are looking for a looker phone so this one looks good but not gr8. if you are looking for a loud tone phone or at least high tones so this one is not for u for sure.. so what i did was that i paid the difference and got F400 right away and from the very first look it's stylish and it's 3G and it's mush faster than the E950 and loaded with options that i even got lost in most of it trying to adjust my phone for my use.. so word of advice the E950 is just a good looking small phone but you can pay little bit extra and get a better deal.. Hi on the Еccentric slider review" it says the backlighting of the touchpad is uneven is this true or was that just in the one they used. just got this phone like yesterday. lovin the touch thing and it's like extra light (don't know if that'll come back and bite me in the butt if i drop it). camera is pretty laggy. sucks that i can't like just use the flashlight for fun. gotta be taking a picture in order for it to turn on. music volume is pretty loud. still trying to see if i can put the songs on my memory card on the music player instead of always having to go to the memory card to open up a song. camera is nice just wish it wasn't so laggy. the locking and unlocking way takes time to get use to. like others have said, the pad locks up after a quick second after you pick up the phone

I have this phone for a month now. It is rather nice. The browser shortcut in the middle of the touchpad was slightly irritating in the beginning but you get used to it. The touchpad is also something that needs getting used to. For example, while you called someone, the touchpad might be turned off (time out) while it is still ringing. There is no immediate key to use for ending the call if you decide that is the wrong number. I panic a bit in the beginning. Once again, I got used to that too.

if you want an hsdpa phone, go for u700, if u want a more fashionable slim fone, go for u600. if you want a phone with the latest samsung gui and a touch navi pad, then go for e950. all the phones are great. i have tried the 3 phones (since my brother owned e950, my sister owned u700 and i owned u600), u600 is a lot better than u700. only that it doesnt have hsdpa and a front videocall camera. take note that both u series has autofocus in the camera, a feature e950 lacks. and also u600 and e950 records in cif resolution at 15fps on its video, u700 records on what they termed as ancient, qcif resolution. all these phones are great and its feature depends on the demands of the user. i don't recommend you anything since u may not like after buying it and discovering its cons. happy choosing!!

guys, this is a great phone. its slick, futuristic in its looks and feels good to handle. On the other hand, the screen is small and the music player has a very slow response. You can change the touch screen menu. overall i would rate it 7 out of 10.

some satisfying answers... 1st it can take fotos much faster coz of the absence of "auto focus" i nany position. 2nd the speaker is SUPERB!!the best SPEAKER FONE for NOW! its very loud and very clear its socalled "ice amplifier" and not so sure but made by bang&olufsen(europes best!) 3rd samsung introduced "slider" fones dont worry bout the slider only nokia is having prob. with it. thats all Folks. Hope it help u a lot final- the speaker of this fone i think is its trademark and the D-pad.

Samsung may hang because of soft problems, get it fixed if it happens often. About E950 I liked the screen, sound, touch pad/screen thing, very easy to use. But i'd prefer S/E instead because of battery life, sound quality (W series), soft, handling.

Well the applications are attractive, but it keep on hang, hang and hang... it happen everyday.. when SMS "hang" when browse picture "hang" when MMS also "hang" the worst part is once it hanged, u will need to take out the battery, then fix it back to restart the phone. I hope samsung will solve this SERIOUS problem.

The touch-screen is great .. a gentle touch and this phone do wonders ! .. Just got this phone last week .. even accessing the web is a breeze .. great for pple who like to have everything in their mobile phones yet don't wanna get confused by the functions .. the black piece is chic and cool ! a little bulky in terms of thickness but the weight is amazing light .. compared to I600 .. And too bad this phone do not have Auto-Focus .. if it does .. its the PERFECT phone ! :)

Attention: Don't buy from e-buy-global.com ! It's strange that they got mobile phones 70% cheaper, e.g. 8600 Luna - $150. It's that odd, that it doesn't even cover production expenses... For the person who said that KOREAN TECHNOLOGY is a 3rd world class of technology, I just want to say that, Korean phones have probably very advance, if not the best, technology. Those phones have built-in TV, Video call, Bluetooth, mp3, camera reaching up to 10 megapixels and all amazing stuffs which the cheap and mass-market-dedicated NOKIA phones do not have way way back about THREE - FOUR years BEFORE. I think the nokia phones have no class and sophistication. They kept on creating phones, and yes, those come in different dazzling colors. but wait for about three months and the color will surely be fade, if not erased. Sick! not to mention, the slow, slow, slow, s-l-o-w s-l-o-w s-l-o-w releasing of data of some nokia phones. Like when going tp pictures gallery, it will take you about 3 - 5 seconds to see the action. And if nokia creates non-bar phones, slide and flips, those are not tough, i mean, those easily loose their spring or whatever the part that connects the LCD from the keypad. And now, nokia is facing a big controversy about their stupic battery - the BL-5C which may EXPLODE due to over heating while charging the phone. This battery is used by many nokia phones, from the cheap 1100 up to nokia N-series and even nokia e60. Check So, i think that is very well said. ^_^ Nokia, bow down to KOrean technology. Haha!

I don't like this phone. Design worse than original E900, very inconvenient touch keys, very average battery life. I think Samsung falls to idea crisis. I know many people who moved from Samsung to other models because Samsung trying to push people to use touch keys ( many people does't like them) and don't even try to extend battery life. Actually, battery life in Samsungs is getting worse with every new model. I'm waiting for really interesting models with every release from Samsung but get disappointed every time...

i have an e900 and if i could change a few things it would be the following: 1) change the damn function of the middle button, instead of opening into menu it goes straight to internet. thats stupid especially if you order your phone another way other than from the phone provider itself, cuz then the internet wont work at all and the providers will refuse to set your internet up because your phone is imported blah blah blah. 2) samsung phones wont let you use ring and vibrate without installing a different firmware which if you dont do properly will screw your phone up 3) the camera isnt too bad but it isnt great either, the shutter speed is slow and takes quite a while to save if you decide you want to take another one right after. unless you are in really good light most of your pictures will be blurry or pixelated even with flash. also it wont allow you to save directly to memory card. 4) the mp3 player takes quite a long time to cycle through or change songs. the battery isnt bad, it'll last 3 or 4 days if you just use it for talking, otherwise if you use it for half a day of music and taking some pictures here and there it'll still go till the end of the day

Well, I think the thing with this phone is the touch pad, its a 65k oled screen!!! Probably it can change colors and functions depending the situations, like call key, probably only appears only when you get a call or dial a number, if you see things for this point of view, it is really very interesting and far superior to e900...

OK, I'll be the first to admit that I saw the E900 when it arrived and thought 'wow'. In the looks department I rate the E900 higher than this, BUT... I reckon that the bigger D-Pad is more likely to be able to do slightly more iPod-esque functions... the pictures show that the central pad is quite matte, like a laptop touchpad, while the buttons around it are shiny... suggests another possible level of interaction...

Overall, I do like the design of the E900, but what prevented me from buying it was the touch sensitive buttons. AGAIN! They have used this technology on another phone. I am a samsung fan, but if they keep with the touch sentive I'll move elesewhere!

Samsung is disapointing me , they are basing all theyre new phone on the Samsung D500 , if you saw that phone , you've seen it all. Come on samsung , think of something else instead of continuing the D & E legacy.

I dont really understand why samsung comes out with this phone? Samsung u600 has the almost same features as this one and u600 design is definitely nicer than this one.
