This phone is very sick, and sucks, it's very bad, for people buying it for the symbian os , it's 0% compatible with all third party apps, have many errors, when open them like application main closed, server error, etc many symbian games doesn't work on it, and they lag very much, tho it have a gpu in the specifications above, Nokia ngage doesn't work on it i haecked my phone tried all versions, keep saying server closed, it's very frustrating, and this phone sucks, very bad, and very ugly menu, and not compatible with themes,( they be messy on it)

Hi, I wished to look for a solid camera n internet browsing phone..n i came across samsung g810.. great phone, used for 2 years still going strong! only prb is the camera cover slides open all the time so camera comes on in ur pocket and when you need to use the ph its dead coz camera has been on in ur pocket all day! other thing erase sms before you get to 1500, coz the phone hangs up and you think its busted!

Can any one please tell and give me a software link which records the call conversations? I have used total call recorder. The software installs and works and it also asks for the record of call when call comes. But after the call has ended when I try to play that file it does not play and the file size is only 1 byte where as I have even recorded a conversation of 9-10 minutes. Please please someone help me out I need the solution and it is very urgent. My phone has the version "G810XFHF8"

i have this phone for more than a year now and i'm veryvery satisfied. what's the matter a fact, i consider it the best phone ever and i don't have an intention to change it soon. the best characteristics of this phone are multifunctionality and very high endurance. it fell me to the ground in many occasions and accept few scratches there was no damage on it. battery is very durable when the sd card is of. with average use, than it lasts for about five days. if you use gps formore than half an hour than it's necessery to use a car charger. camera is very good, i have made some great photos with it. i suggest this phone to everyone.

I had the same problem like u b4 this where the battery not long lasting even a day. But after sent it to the Samsung technician ( because mine one still under warranty ) the problem solved already. Due to the info from the tecnician, it's not because of the battery but because of it's ic. After he fix the ic with the new one, my battery now ok already. Can even lasting for fortnight either.

Loose camera cover 'fixed' by putting a bit of duct tape on the back, so the cover has a thicker surface to conquer. Looks cheap, priceless result.

Ive had this phone for almost a year now and its been working perfectly until about a month ago. The camera cover is very loose and it opens in my pocket but I lock my phone which saves battery life when this happens. And the battery cover, I have to celotape it to prevent it from falling off. But other than that , it's an exelent phone

Ive done more than 3 flashes already, all went smoothly. make sure u r using windows XP or Vista 32bit or else it wont work. I reccomend using a laptop, incase power goes off. Cuz els u will end up with a feather phone

There's really no new Firmware right now. did I mention u can hack ure G810 so u can install whatever unsigned software outthere??? :D my FW is G810XEHG3. it works a charm no problem at all, and I have it hacked ;) G810 is not like nokia's with symbian, u can flash the G810 with FW's that are hackable. TIPS>>faq4mobiles ;) google it, make sure u use google translate if u don't understand german ;) greeets

Hey guys.. Finally i got this mobile. So here's my short review. The camera is really good, no problem with that at all but having said that the performance of the xenon flash is not as good as with others. Software wise it's symbian so it's very good with Samsung outfit.! audio quality over the headohones is really great, but the loud speaker is mono and is not that good you can hear some creaks. Display is typical samsung very good indoors but is not that good in day light. and now here's the problem i faced soon after i got it.. i inserted a genuine Sandisk 2GB card (which came along with a samsung Star mobile!!!) and the battery dried up real fast.. in half day!!! when i removed it and inserted a Kingston 1GB card it's working fine.. now i'm trying to findout whether it was because of the card or whether the mobile cant take those 2gigs cards.

I have the latest firmware and camera is worse than g800. Optical zoom is not clear compared to g800. Indoor photos are very blurry.

Camera is better than G800 for sure! Just make sure u have latest Firmare on ure G810. Oh and did I mention we can DO ALOT MORE things on G810 :D. Battery is like with all smartphones, theres no smartphones outhere that will last u more than 4 days on heavy usage!! Smartphones are Laptops, the more features it has, the more battery it will drain, the bigger the screen the more it will drain

Camera performance is not improved. I have both models and g800 takes better pictures than g810. optical zoom is also better on g800.

it is pretty bad phone. Camera is awful, pictures are a lot worse than one in K800. There are a lot of issues with firmware that never got solved (there was never true firmware update, they did not support the phone). There is pretty big bug with memory cards - once you put navigation onto your memory card, it drains phone battery within hours, even if you remove the garmin (and in any case, even if you do not use garmin and if it is out of memory)... So you have to carry 2 cards, one with garmin and another with your everything else.

What the hell for you need TouchScreen ? It would make phone 200$ - 100$ expensiver. If you want touch take Samsung UltraTouch or somthing G810 isnt touch and thats it :)

i think there are two possible answers here: either u got a really baad unit,or u completely lost ur mind..just to make it clear,its more metal than any N-series nokia out there.music is moderate loud but crystal clear,wifi works great,phone is fast and extra solid.and the camera is-superb!

With regards to the short battery life of this unit, i remember the old tricks I used to use with my previous Nokia S60 phones.. 1. Turn off the wifi if you're not using it(go to Settings\Connection\Wireless Lan and choose Never). 2. Turn off 3G if you're not using it too(go to Settings\Phone\Network and choose GSM under Network Mode. Turning off these two settings extends the life of your battery to at least 2 days of light to moderate use. Unfortunately, the size of the display will take its toll on your battery life no matter what you do. Even with all the shortcomings, this phone still rocks!

LOL. It charges for hours everyday. When low battery beeb sound, then in less than 15min the phone goes dead. however i have a D900i and battery life exellent, last UP TO four days heavy use.

Actually there is NO accelerometer hardware built in G810, so you can't use it like N95. My G810 has 8gb microsdhc and work well till now.

for the memory card capacity, i'm using an 8gb memory card w/ no troubles at all. used up about.....1.5 gb's of it. only thing is, if you have a ton of pictures like i do, takes a couple secs longer to load all the pictures and can't scroll too fast through them. but it's not much of an annoyance or anything

You can run nokia s60 software on this phone but it is not really hassle-free. You have to symbian hack your phone and certify every app you want to install. Its not impossible,just takes a while to get used to.

I have owned this phone for about half a year. I think the application minimizer is a great function, the large screen is also good although it gets scratched far too easily. The phone is quite large too. The slide doesn't go high enough, so for someone with large fingers it will be very annoying to type with for some time. The battery life is hopeless, and once the bars of battery life are gone the phone automatically closes most applications without any warning. The camera is brilliant and has good zoom. The camera cover is a good idea. The ear piece is loud enough and is clear, but its difficult to clean because its small. Phone - PC connection is tricky to set up but very useful once set up. The phone comes with no games. Unfortunately i cannot use the video calling, video streaming, GPS, and PTT because my service provider doesn't provide it, but the phone does have those applications. The phone seems to be strong so i doubt it will fall apart which is good.

Hi Anastasia, Comparing the two is a bit fo a toss up really, as spec-wise both phones are pretty close to each other. It depends on what is more important to you as to which one you get. The G810 has a high resolution camera and a better flash unit. However, the i550w has a candybar form-factor, which some people prefer over a sliders like the G810. If the camera is more important to you, then I'd get the G810. However, if you like candybars more, then I'd get the i550w.

Hi Anastasia, I doubt the G810 would survive a trip through a washing machine - it's not "ruggedized" in any way. However, I've never done that to mine. So, I can't say for sure. As for using Wifi for chat: Yes, sure it can do that, with the right software.

No, the camera cover is not spring-assisted. However, it's very solid and locks into the open/closed position very well - it wont slip around or open accidently if it's fully engaged to the locked position. The Slider is spring-assisted though.

One day of battery life sounds about right actually. I pretty much get the same out of my phone and I use it pretty heavily - a couple of hours of web browsing via Opera Mini and a Wifi connection, music player constantly playing AAC+ songs in the background, transferring a few files via Bluetooth/USB, several texts and a few calls a day. Also, I may activate the GPS occasionally, and play a game now and then. I don't see charging the battery everynight as a problem really. Yeah, it doesn't last as long as my SE W810i used to - that could go for about 3 days without a recharge. However, since the G810 is a smartphone, it does much more than my W810i ever did, or could. I'm happy with the trade off in battery life for all the functionality I get. Please remember that the G810 is a workhorse. So, he eats more! ;) Here are some tips to make the battery last a bit longer though: Use GSM only for the phone network. Set GPRS access to as needed. Make sure that Bluetooth is off when not needed. Make sure WLAN access is off when not needed. Turn the Screen Brightness down to the lowest level you can tolerate. Set the Screen Dimmer and Back-light times to their lowest possible values. Don't leave the GPS (Goggle Maps, Route 66, Samsung Navigator, etc.) running in the background. Don't leave unnecessary programs running the background. Only use the Xenon flash on the camera when absolutely necessary. I hope this helps.

Hi Hello, There's a Game Boy Advance emulator I know of. Also, I think, there's a Nintendo Entertainment System one. Probably a few others as well. However, there are quite a few native S60 games that the G810 can run and some Java ones too! Cheers

I forgot something: There's also a "multi-shot" mode on the camera which allows one to take 9 quick shoots in a row. However, the upper resolution limit is 640X480 for this. Why they did it this way I'm not sure. It probably has something to do with the 9 shoots being stored in RAM until they've all been taken though - just a guess.

Yes, the G810 can take pix and save them right away to the phone's memory or a MicroSD card without prompting the user. There's a setting in the camera options to make it do this. As for the exact time it takes to save a pic, I don't recall really. But, I think it's like 2 - 4 seconds.

Thanx a lot for the info bill i actually have one more Q...some nokia phones let you snap pics pretty quick...what i mean is, you take a picture and to store it in the phone memory you just hit the camera button again and it's ready to take another picture and the previous picture gets stored...this is a really good feature when you wanna take 10 shots in short period of time...does G810 work like that ?

Elina, If you want a free digital map then there are two alternatives. Please do a web search for these: Google Maps Nav4All There are others out there. But, you'll need to buy them. I use Google Maps. However, I do have other resources too. ;)

Camera at outdoor..g810 clearly better than n82 and much2 better than k850,c902,viewty..dunno about zn5... But the xenon seems inferior compared to other xenon.. G810 much2 worthy than n82+k850+n95..but sammy seems too concern about i8510..no advertising about g810.. G810 rocks! I won't sell it..i'll keep it when it comes to retire..

Yes, the shutter sound can be turned off via the camera options. I do it all the time. However, this might vary per regional firmware.

Yup it really is a factor but what i referring is the difference between 16m and 256k colors. If for example the same brand, the same quality of lcd one is 16m and the other is 256k, surely that 16m is clearly the winner even if what angle you're looking in it. but disadvantage of this is more power consumption. i guess i made myself clear.. peace out :P

celladik, The problem with the display being blurred when viewing it from the side has more to do with the limitations of LCD technology, and the quality of the LCD being used in a given phone, than it does with the number of colours being displayed. Bet! And, I hope you get my point! ;)

elina, With a display size of 2.6 inches, one really can't tell the difference between 16m colours and 256k. If any of these phones (G810, N82 & N95) had displays of 3+ inches, I'd say yes, the 16m will may a difference in one's viewing pleasure. Regarding the dimensions: Yes, the G810 is a bit plump. However, it feels nice and solid in my hands - not fat though. Hehehe ;) I tried a N82 and just didn't like the way it looked or felt. It's plasticky and the keys are really small. The N95 feels plasticky too and flimsy. I see people around town with them all the time. And, they have them taped up because something broke and fell off - usually the back cover. The G810 has a nice, solid metal body, with just a bit of plastic. I actually wanted an N95 when they first came out. They were just so fantastic! But, the price was just too high for me - here in New Zealand the N95 cost like $1000NZD! Anyway, I'm glad I waited and got the G810 instead. I got it for $550NZD and does everything the N95 does and more. About memory cards, yes, it would be nice if they packaged one. And, I think they do depending on the region the phone is sold in. However, cards are pretty cheap now. So, it was no big deal for me. Anyway, yeah, that's my sales pitch for the G810. But, you will get what you like - which is good for you! :)

Hi racer X, I've had my G810 for such a short time - I updated the firmware within a few days of getting it - that I wouldn't have noticed anything different. I can tell you that my phone is very stable with the newest firmware. I haven't had it lock or reset itself even once since I've had it. Sorry I can't give you more details. But, as I said, I'm a new G810 owner. ;)

unfortunately the display type is only 256 thousand or 262 thousand not 16 m like i8510 or nokia,,actually i gravitate to this mobile phone but it's not included with memory card and the dimenssion is quite big for slider form,,i think nokia n82 or n95 is better,,

Hi Aris, Regarding the aac+ problem, it only happens on files that are encoded at 112kbps. And, like I wrote earlier, it's only a problem when playing them back on the Samsung Music Player - on LCG Jukebox v2.41 they play back just fine. Too bad, because I'd prefer to use the Samsung one because it integrates with the standby screen well. Anyway, I submitted a bug report over on the Samsung Innovator forum. So, maybe, they'll fix it. However, since I just got my phone, I probably wouldn't notice much difference anyway. Unfortunately, there's no changelog with the firmware. So, I have no idea what's different in it. Till latest fw,n82 still doesn't have menu transition like n79,etc...but seems n82 needs more time to show the menu..and it's very2 noticeable after boot up...maybe caused by the complex of n82's s60 while g810 seems simple..but i think the omap 2430 has slightly improvement over 2420 of n82,except 3d rendering

Aris, are u sure that G810 is faster than N82? Coz i think their habits are different. For example in menu transition, on N82, it goes to next menu soon after you press it, then loading it. G810, it loads first while hold on earlier menu, then with a blink it goes to the next menu. So, G810 seems faster than N82. Same condition happens when u compare N82 with the latest E series (using Freescale MX at 369). Even N82 looks damn cheap n squeeky, i love N82.

What is ur firmware? Maybe u can ask to sammy to update it.. And..make sure to use genuine microsd card,or u can check it on other fone,coz only freze at gallery usually caused by corrupt file on ur microsd,u can hard reset by press *#7370# then type 00000000

Thx, Aris. But I'm not expert. U describe me too high. Samsung G810 has the same OS version with i450 and i550/i550W, Symbian 9.2 s60v3 feature pack 1. I think Samsung RnD division use the same source code to built the firmware version for i450, i550/i550W and G810. They only have minor changes to make different with other type, based on hardware capability. As I know, 3D GPU on G810 only kick when u take the picture with main camera. Why 3D GPU fully enabled on INNOV8 and i7110 ? I think this is the reason: 1. Symbian 9.3 S60 featured pack 2 support 3D transition effect user interface. 2. High Quality video recording needs GPU support(VGA at 30fps or above). 3. DivX Playback & 3D Games(Samsung added Asphalt 4 HD and FIFA 2008 to compete with NGage in Nokia NSeries). I know that DivX Movie, Asphalt 4 and FIFA 2009 can run without 3D acceleration, but not as smooth as with GPU enabled. I think I can share alot about this with u. U can find me in GSMArena Forum. It's different type. Samsung G810 using Lithium-Ion 1200mAH. Nokia N82 using Lithium Polimer 1050mAH. BP-6MT, P mean polimer. Another Nokia battery type is BL, L mean lithium-ion. Example: BL-5C(6600), BL-6C(6275i), BL-4C(6300), etc.

I'm so sory jones,i've very2 busy activities these days.. I think i agree with ryo jin.. Although i7110/pilot has new n better feature,but the history n target of these phones are different. . . G810 was (hi end) sammy phone in Q1 2008 to fight n95 at 5mp..while innov8,omnia,and tocco still under development...i7110 is mid end phone,as supplementary of hi end innov8.. Although i7110 has overall better feature,but g810 still has hi-end aura with it's unique optic zoom,xenon,and especially "1st class n exclusive design" even compared to innov8 n omnia..

Well,g810 isn't musicphone..it has very2 tiny speaker..no close to walkmanphone.. I think u love megabass sound..but in g810,there's no equalizer..u can't get deep bass like se, But samsung gives 75% better crystal clear sound quality,u can hear all chords..megabass destroy sound quality,destroy treble etc..n makes my head dizzy after 30 mins U can use sennheiser cx300 like mine to get better bass than walkman.. Hi Sigit. I think u are from Indonesian too. SE G900i using Symbian UIQ. As everybody know, Symbian UIQ was death now. It's mean G900i are outdated, no 3rd party software anymore. My suggest is Samsung G810 with Symbian S60v3.1 or if u patience just wait for i7110. Same like G810, Samsung GT-i7110 are INNOV8 little brother. All spec almost the same with INNOV8 like Symbian S60v3.2, accelerometer sensor, DNSe 2.0 audio teknology, 3D Graphic Accelerator, etc(read the spec or preview from GSMArena). i7110 used AMOLED screen and have FM Transmitter(first in Samsung Symbian line up). hi! i recently purchased a second hand samsung g810 in Pakistan. it did not have an installation Cd with it. I downloaded the software from the website (PC suite 7), but when i connect my phone via data cable, there is an error, it says, "Unknown USB drive" and it does not read my phone. I have G810 and I`m using WLAN all the time at home. First, you have to define WLAN before using it, if it is encrypted you need to know the password for it. After you define it, when you go to browser (or direct to gmail) it will ask you which WLAN would you like to use. And that`s all. Once defined, it will remain in the list and whenever you`re in range you can use it. Hope it will help.

I have been using g810 for 2 months..and no problems so far... just twice restart issue when i browsing thru bad wifi connection..that's all..no freeze,slowdown..and error notifications I also have black n82..well the camera i think g810 seems slightly better (outdoor) but n82 wins at indoor pics! Speaker? G810 can't match n82,n82 very loud n stereo ones..coz g810 doesn't have speaker..only using tiny earpiece..But..thru earphone g810 much2 better than g810... stability..g810 muvh2 stable.. but n82 also amazing fone..i love both of them.. dwcision is yours buddy

Nope..hard reset will clean all your internal memory,reset ur setting..delete contacts,mesages.it's like clean install windows in ur pc..n i guarantee it's safe! But make sure ur batt is full before do this,it will take 1-2 min to reset..at standby press *#7370# then input 00000000 code..make sure also format mem card If still have same problem make sure ur .jar file not corrupt n try gameloft .jar games..n contact samsung sc..ask if there's new firmware update..i ever heard new fw g810dbhg2 (july 08) n maybe latest one..hope it works..coz mine still doesn't have any problems...

No, the G810 wont be pocket friendly for music listening with the audio port on the side like that. I wish Samsung had placed it on the top. But, they didn't. As soon as my G810 arrives I have holster type case that I'll attach to my belt for it. I listen to music a lot. And, with the G810's bulk and side audio port, being clipped to my belt is the best solution I can think of.

I try to answer: 1.no,speakerphone too low n dissapointing compared to n85 even no bass elements but not too far coz n85 speaker still not satisfy compared to n73,n81,n96,even n79..but thru earfone g810 still comparable to n85 2.camera : g810 comparable to n82 means much2 better than n82..g810 has bigger cam lens,xenon flash,face detection n optical zoom mechanism,while n85 has smaller lens,only dual leds flash,no face detection,some reviewers said n85 cam very2 weak even compared to 3.2mp n73 3.n85 use freescale 369mhz single core while g810 use ti 330mhz dual core (very similar with n82)..speed : no doubt g810 much2 faster,n i can say fastest symbian s60 fones,i ever had n73,n81,n79 n now using n82 together with g810 n my conclusion g810 is the fastest one! G810 can capture video recording up to 640x480 (vga) at 25-26 fps..still above average other fones..for me it's very good but yeah..still a little bit below my n82 which can record vga at 30fps.. Sound when u recording video very2 clear n stereo..format is .mp4..u can zoom optically during recording ,,for video rec i give : G810 : 8/10 N82 : 9/10 Viewty : 9.5/10 K850 : 6.5/10 coz only qvga at 25-26 fps

The battery should last about 5 - 6 hours if your using it for mp3 etc... Talk time is 6hrs 30mins and standby time is up to 4oohrs does that help? Your english was very good in my opinion.

I can put movies to my g810 too, like .rmvb .mp4 .3gp .rm .flv extension but i can't play .avi .wmv files...it is 99% similar with n95 coz both are s60v3 feature pack 1, i also feel my g810 more faster than my black n82 in menu operation,opening app,msg,contact Btw,this morning i just compared my g810 with my neighbor viewty.. LG cam also amazing too,much2 better than my fren k850, sharper n natural.. My g810 colour looks pale compared with viewty at outdoor..but my g810 seems more sharper n noise-less,focusing target also more precise.. So my g810 better than viewty,but not much! Well I have been using this phone for the past 4 months. So far the experience has been favourable and pleasant. The battery life is sufficient with heavy usage on call lasting about 2 days before it requires another full charge. I have not had any glitches on the software in terms of lagging and hanged as opposed to some smartphones i have used in the past.One thing that puzzles me is the GPS which is not very useful, my dealer in Malaysia I am located subscribed "Navfone" the so called software available for the GPS. So far the GPS is not responsive and cannot be used properly on my side. The GPS weren't able to pin point my location most of the time except for some rare occasion which is frustrating. Another flaw is that I am unable to save business card automatically and unable to tap the phone number in it to call instantenous rather have to do it manually. Overall the built quality is superior with solid feel on the palm. The call is clear and ring tone is loud enough even at noisy areas. I would give it 8/10 for this phone. BTW the camera is ok also but the reaction is terribly slow.

For goodness sake do not get k850i i had it repaired 3 times and sold while it still worked afdter 3rd repair,,however rebought it earlier november 2008 and still bad,,the trouble is blurry fotos,,cam drivers packing up ,,software bugs,,faulty touch sensors that cannot be realigned or calibrated yourself and the biggest trouble i had was card acceptance ie when i put new card in it crashed so bad i had to get it repaired along with 11 other people awaiting repairs..

K850i is shit.I got it befor I got the g810.the pic.qualy is not so good.the problem is this smart contrast feater.and also this touch pad is problematic.it goes very,very,fast broken.its very sensible and if you touch it with wet fingers its deffect.

I've fixed the both problems. 1.problem!-my I got no gps signal.If you have this prob.try this--> instal google maps on your phone and let it locate you.then go on settings>tools>gps localisation. after the this process the problem is fixed.the other gps apps will find the satelite imedietly.funny,ha? 2.problem!-my battery goes empty.If you have the garmin xt navigation,and your battery after this instalation goes fast empty.you have to delete the "cardreader.dll" file.its on teh memory card>sys>cardreader.dll thats it!thank you all for your help and spended time on my problem.

1.optical zoom : no the different between g810 optic zoom n n82 digital zoom is: Optic zoom Image quality just very2 little bit decreased while digital zoom quality decreased very2 significant.. Important note: g810 optic zoom makes pics a little bit darked while indoor usage but very2 useful at day n outdoor usage 2.yeah g810 image sharper but seems noisy compared to n82 image..u can see clearly at night photos..some people said that because carl zeiss optics lens very2 clear n samsung lens (se latest k850,c902 use samsung lens) still behind mr.zeiss ones..thx..hope u'll happy with ur decision,if i'm wrong i'm sorry it's just my opinion as n82 n g810 user

Daylight : g810 gives sharper pics (anti shake mode must on),night: n82 xenon flash much2 stronger than g810 n better pics 2.screen brightness:g810 gives much2 vibrant,colourful,sharper, g810 wins although just 262k but yes 2.6 inch! Same as n95 3.keypad:trust me! I'm about to purchase a G810 and will probably have it by the weekend. After a lot of research and comparison I've decided this is the multimedia phone for me. I've compared it to the Nokia N79, N82, N85, N95 8GB, N96 and 6220 Classic. The N79, N82, N85, N95 8GB and N96 don't offer the features and performance I'm after and, also, their build quality isn't as nice. And, they are all more expensive than the G810 here in New Zealand. While the 6220 is less expensive, it doesn't have Wifi. And, again, the form factor and build quality are less than desirable to me. I've look at Sony Ericsson's offering as well. And while I used to own an SE, and quite liked it, SE's phones always fall short in one way or another - be it the OS, small screen size, limited QVGA video recording or their use of proprietary memory cards. I've looked at LG's offerings too. But, for some reason, I just don't trust LG as a company and their phones feel cheap in my hands. I'm thinking of the LG Viewty when I say this. I've picked the thing up several times in the shops, and I swear it felt like some cheap plastic toy. While Samsung is still in the early stages of their Symbian offerings, and may not offer the remarkable add-on software of Nokia, the G810 offers the right balance of features, build quality and value for money to me. Also, third party software can make for what I might miss on a Nokia Symbian phone. So, I'm going to grab the G810 and see how it goes. I may regret doing so, but somehow, I doubt it. ;)

I just both g810 and I am not pleased, he have one speaker for talking and he uses same one for playing music, so it is not loud and have no bass at all. Camere is uncredeble for video, but for photo Nokia is beter, xenon flash is smaller and not useble after 3m macro is OK and if it is realy near you can always use optical zoom. PS: I used 6220clascomparr comparasion, he have the same camera like n82

Hi there, I love this phone, I want to connect it to my laptop via bluetooth so that I can use mapping software like google earth pro to show my location... I found some software called ExtGPS made by symarctic but I cant get extgps to recognise the data from the phone's GPS receiver (was made for N95)... does anyone know what brand the GPS receiver chip in the phone is? or another way I can do this??

It also plays mp3,wma,aac,etc audio files n of course mp4 vga@30 fps video files+with 3rd party app (it's symbian s60!) can plays avi video,,streaming youtube thru wifi of course with 2.6 inch scren! (same as n95),but main cons is: speaker volume too low! But with philips or senn earphon u will hear gr8 sound qualty although there's no eq! Yeah it's very elegant fone but a little bit bulky

For everyone,don't be scared to buy this fone,at least with recent firmware (dated higher than march 2008) this fone will work fast n smooth with rare problems! Yeah,,i read from review site that g810 can take better photos with manual settings,depend where n when u take photos,i'm very impressed with recent s60 samsung fone,durable,elegant,smart,friendly ui (s60+samsung rocks!),but why samsung didn't release software updater like innov8 n pilot for g810,as i know samsung even can release up to 3 revision firmware update only in 2 months!! Hi Under the camera "settings" and under "gereral" there is a "defalt storage" setting. Set eiter to phone memory or memory card! Hope this helps

First,sorry if my english is not good..n maybe too long when u read it i bought sam g810 3 weeks ago, as my spare maybe my primary phone with my black n82 DESIGN : PLUS :Elegant n very impressive built quality compared with n82,no creaks,hard to scratch in normal daily use,great sliding mechanism very smooth much2 better than my bro n96..dark grey color looks professional n tempting MINUS : Camera sliding cover mechanism very hard n tactile!! N82 more easy n safer,very hard to get screen protector BATTERY : 1200mAH Li-ion, at the first week, it performance very2 poor!! just stay for a day, but after 2 weeks my battery become stronger (at optimal capacity maybe?) n can keep my g810 for 2.5 days with heavy usage (3hr calls,12-15 shots with xenon,2hr wifi,2.5hr mp3 thru earphone,1.5hr playing java games..hehe) SOFTWARE/UI : THEME/APPEARANCE :Utilize S60 Symbian 9.2 FP1 same as recent NSeries (N81.N82,N95 8GB) and LG KT610, great ui!! It looks not completed like Nokia coz didn't have Ngage,maps,help,etc..but i like g810 themes n icons (my subjective: nseries icons looks too childish) SPEED : G810 use TI OMAP 2430 @ 329mhz but 3D Acclerator (PowerVR MBX Lite) driver was disabled by samsung, (enabled at innov8), overall ui speed faster than n81(Frescale 369mhz) n n82 (TI 2420 332mhz+vgp) but in 3d benchmarking comparable with n81 n much2 slower than n82!ISSUE/STABILITY : Trust me until now it never hangs or restart like my n82!! just once it browser crash when using wifi,it never slowdowns like n81 when open a lot app (thx for 128 mb ram like n82) Overall i love the ui! perhaps, the file is corrupted or you have incompitable software or hardware that blocks you from sending some type of data to your phone, or you have a virus that does something and blocks you. try to scan for viruses and system changes in both PC and G810. if that fails ask someone else hehehehe

it must be brand new battery!let phone die then fully charge again use phone normally till battery completely dies and again fully charge,do it for approx.at least 15times on g810,on smaller battery 10times should do,cheers!

I used various smartphones so far but this is finally the one which has everything you expect from a (smart)phone! It's real pleasure to use this phone! Tons of RAM, fast processor, modern OS, Wifi and GPS capabilites, can work as usb drive, great camera, great video recording , no bugs, no freezes , no restarts. did you connect your phone before you installed the pc studio because that could be the problem try to uninstall it and install it again and then connect your phone to the pc that should do it if not, ask someone else never stop looking for answers, 'cause one day, you may found one ;)

look you must emty the whole battery 'till the phone shuts down and recharge it 12 hours no matter if the baterry is full and do it three times. that should do it to be 100% sure do it 4 times... just in case

Hi Ryo Jin.in VGA mode its 22 fps and in QVGA mode its 30 fps.i was also hoping that it would be as u said but unfortunately its not 30fps at VGA.even gsmarena says so in their review.QVGA is simply quarter VGA,quarter the size,for those that dont know.i wanted this fone alot but this is the part that stopped me from getting it.22 frames are simply not fast enough,especially when put on a pc screen.

it's the same soft like n95 so u can do all &download most n95 applications & use on it,camera produces much more nicer photos then n95,not such big noise like n95 makes and colors can set up manualy wich is perfect

u can use mp3 as message alert,i could check just one video n95 and it had 25fps more n95 videos i'll test later but i think g810 produces a little bit nicer picture on videos then nokia which might produces 2-3fps more but picture looks more shaky

i made 10 videos today then i measured fps,most of them are about 21-22fps&my maximum was 25.03fps so probably u won't get over26-27fps,i'll test n95 later

if u want to make flash picture u have to push capture switch to half then hold for 1sec and after that push full,it makes flash 40% approx stronger,almost like n82 but don't forget that noki has 4times bigger flash

Hi, I thought I was the only one having the charging problem. Mine started specifically in the car using a vechile charger. Ther first time made sense coz it said battery had overheated and would stop charging. I though that was great that it would monitor that. Good day all, I'm experiencing a pretty wierd issue with my phone. I bought my Samsung G810 a little over 3 months ago, since then it has been working just fine up till about 2 weeks ago when it stopped charging. Prior to this theres normally some notification that it stopped charging (Not Charing Text or symbol displayed) but as of that timespan nothing happens. The phone battery has completly run down (refuses to charge at all). If you play with the charger a bit (while it is plugged into the phone - at the point attached to the phone) it may come on for a split second or 2. But the connection seems kind of shaky. The charger itself appears to be good as i used it to charge a friends phone that has a similar charging port. I'm not sure if its the battery or the phone itself. Any suggestions, clues, ideas? I checked many of the forums online but haven't gotten any responses. Best Regards.

felix, did you count frames or just read specs? Filters show 25fps in overlay output but real speed is about 15-20 - video is realy bad, unsmooth with lots of artifacts, on n95/n85 video in 640x480 is MUCH better. In 320x240 video is pretty smooth. btw, a lot of symbian software and games(quakes, dooms, rallys) dont work. On java all ok but not as fast as i expect from 300+mhz processor :( PS: XEHD2.

Excellent photo (optical zoom 3x) and sound in headphones. Video is only about 15fps in 640x480. No accelerometer and 3d accelerator. Problems with bluetooth handsfree, dont work fring and any sound recording second party software. Great design, but no special keys for prev/next song. Display is quite good. Supports microSDHC upto 32gb. Battery enough only for 2 days.

It doesnt have an accelorator sensor in it, the battery life is pretty good.. i'd give it a 8.5/10. And yes it supports up to 4gb Micro SDHC

i own those devices[except 93] just want to say that on g810 everyone must set up wb and color saturation manulaly then results are more better,it's like a dig camera so settings must be done properly before ,u can't shoot like a cowboy,the same story innov8 also flash on my g810 gives good results so i do not know how he could shoot that picture,maybe with finger on it 'cos that guy is nokia fan.?my test:innov,g810,82,the worst cameras ever 95 and viewty

Actually, it is hard for me to say, as i'm hate the look of N82 and N95.. Seriously, if you havent used high end phone like N95 8gb, i believe you'll love G810. the specs, the looks, delicious! it is also faster than N95.

I got this phone yesterday and I can say I really love it. The ringtones are not as loud as they should have been and the phone could have done without the camera cover but other than that, it's perfect. Great camera, incredible music playback when the headset is plugged in and great display. I don't know what Clara bought (clearly wasn't g810)but I charged my phone last night and after playing with it all day, listening to music on it and making phone calls, the battery only lost one line out of seven. N95 and N95 8gb are really ugly compared to g810 and the g810's camera is better so my choice is obvious, G810 all the way.

You might find this phone disappointing when it brokes down because of Samsungs production practice, putting up low grade materials. I have Samsung G810 and it made a visit to Samsung Service Center 3x already since I bought it 2 month ago, and Samsung Agents telling me that it has a thin LCD and flex that easily breaks. Disappointing!

G810 is better then u900. G810 has an operating system. But u900 not. We can instal meny softwares in g810. But u900 not. U900 hav an extra feature DVB-H Broadcost receiver but g810 doesnt have. So u decide which one is better. acording to my knowledge G810 better then U900 soul.

i have this phone, it records at 30 fps with video quality setting t high, normal or economy qualities. It does not record at 120 fps currently and image quality is superior when it comes to megapixels. There is slight noise levels but this is effectively removed when zooming into the pic. Overall this phone is excellent with the exception of a functioning quick office and inferior wlan app

xenon flash is not very strong unlike the nokia n82 that can give superb pics when in low light even in total darkness...but the advantage of the g810 is the included application for the pics coz you can do more with your pics like the pic flip, crop after taking etc...about the opera mini, yes you can install it with your g810 since its the same os of n82...all you can install with your nokia n95, n82 etc. can be install in the g810 except ofcourse ngage games....

Actually, there is not much difference in G810 and N95 8G other than the fact that n95 8G has 8G of storage space. Spec wise, they are more or less the same. regarding built quality, i would prefer G810 because of its metallic casing

any1 can provide full crack G810 (GPS)? because regarding this G810, this phone does not provide google map and you need to pay extra fees for the GPS service. For Malaysia is approximately RM190/year.

well, i've also tried the camera of n82 it was great and i thought it was the best but until this g810 came out it outshine the n82! all i can say is this is the best camphone yet to release! hehe!(i8510 hasn't released yet.) so in my answer G810 is better than n82 and the best camphone yet to release.. P.S. Have been using n95 n958gb N82 Viewty G900 (all 5 mp but still G810 is better!)

Tested it. Dissapointed!! GPS free? yes but doesn't get a fix unless you add a bluetooth received to kickstartit then shut off the bluetooth receiver. Take the software (samsung navigon) and install it on your N95. It works perfectly. Camera: ok but not amazing (see here: ) Video :

to anonymous g810 is good but if you like loud speakers,you should go for the n95 8gb..g810 only has one loud speaker and i guess its just the same as the u600's power of the speakers..Ikaw din..Camera is hard to use..Blurry if you have shaky hands (just like g800)..262k color screen on the g810 while 16m colors on the n95 8gb..If u want to buy it you have to think not just twice, but a million times before you decide..Test it as many times as you can before u buy it & compare it to its competitors..Trust me parekoy!!I am a samsung user as well..Starting from d900,e900,u600,u900,g600,g800,..You shuold look for your self & see the difference..Off course it is still your own perogative..Im just giving my opinion here because i have experienced it..

Yup, you've read it right, Samsung's product lines easily brooked even with just a short fall, screen specially, this happen to my sisters E250 and when you go to their customer support, you will get the lamest service, you'll have to wait for a lifetime. I have got the G810 in my hands right now. Its super. Symbian S60 works perfectly. My phone was delivered with Route66 Western Europe (I live in the Netherlands) and it works great. Also small streets are included. Have tried the webbrowser and works fine. Camera will be tested tomorrow. I love the standard mini-jack 3,5 mm, in which u can plug a standard headphone but also a tv-cable (in the package). Also include was a carholder, for use in the car, unfortunately not a car-charger, but u can`t winn them all;)

does the samsung g810 support mp4? what video players come along with this phone ? the same os in nokia phones does not support mp4. if we play the mp4 in nokia phones the phone software always strucking. does samsung g810 released or not ? if it released plz.. gsm arena... give the manual along with the samsung g810 specifications.

I almost love this fone until i've seen the position of the 3.5mm jack. I think its going to be very odd to put this in your pocket while using a standard earphone.. wish they have just placed the jack right on top of the fone.. hmmm

Bangladesh is one of the bigest mobile market in the world.But samsung g810 still not available in Bangladesh.Where any model of nokia comes here just after 2 or 3 days.Isn't it a shame for you samsung?What do you think?

n82 black is all ready out and its got everything you need and won the best image phone. whats the delay with this n95 copy. I feel sorry for the first person who buys this and realise its cheap asian junk and and none of the features work that well and tust me the gps will not work very well at all its no htc chip set its samsung gps you get what you pay for. keep your street directory close.

I sold my N81 and was waiting for the N82 which took its sweet time coming out in australia so i didnt end up purchasing it and was after the mother of all phones.. Thats right.. A slide with gps function.. WIFI onboard and not only a 5mp camera but with the XENON flash to make the phone complete.. looks like after waiting for so long it has come around the G810 looks like its going to dominate the martket.. i just need to when i can get my hands on this beuty!!

for those who don't know, the battery life on this is: 6.33 hours ( 380 mins) of Talk time 396 hours ( 17 days) of Stand-by time pretty good if you ask me. can't wait until the release, will definitely get!

Obviously better design.Samsung can reach to number 1 position if they do a better feture with web option.And the special thing is they should give more advertisement than nokia do.Nokia is making their products plasticy and so light weight like toys.Samsung should go with huge smart advertise in tv channel and specially all countries of asia. And europe and u.s.a.

Its really BETTER and MUCH BETTER than N95... great flash, great sliding mechanism, and rigid body design! Who cares if it doesn't have infrared... who needs it anyway these days? hehehehe! N95 is just a poor plasticky phone with poor flash and poor slide function. I don't care if its a nokia... samsung has the same software. ^^ KEWL!

just screen should be vga resolution,it's year 2008!but still better phone then any freezing nokia,i had always technical problems with nokias,they realy need repairs centers everywhere in the world,nokia means small box with a milion problems,awfull!

Hi, it's quite good product although the good try to look like the Nokia N95 08 GB but still I don't know how much is the capacity of the Slot Memory Card I can Use... I think if it reaches 08 GB external Memory Card will be very competitive to Nokia N95 08 GB

Ye anyone got this beauty yet? I'd realy like to see the live pics of the Black G810. :-) From what ive seen in its hardware list the G810 is going to have better sound quality than the N95-8gb, and a better newer TI OMAP chipset. Even though im a NOKIA user theres no denying the G810 is almost or is what the N95-1 was supposed to be in the 1st place.

i hve n95 8gb for now n its da best phone i ever have.this phone also looks very8 cooolll..which 1 is better huh? after c 360 i found dat da whole body is plastic-like xcept the front of it. X( i dont like the audio jack design.better remove dat plastic thing out of there! but doesnt matter,my n95 8gb also plastic!haha XD i gonna buy this too..cant wait!

I was totally going to purchase this phone. However with all those unexplained delays, I ended up going for the Black N82 and I couldn't be happier! Sorry Samsung, you just took too long (and I'm not a big fan of the bottom and top of this phone)

hey you nokia fans please stop making monster out of the N95. this phone has 3x optical zoom with bang and olufsen audio chipset . another thing about the N95. look at the audio quality. do you know what is THD? ;) study more dude . your audio quality is even worse than those chinese phones. and the build qulaity of this phone is much better than the plastic N95. take a google search of b600 and p9000 to find out who's the world leader in the mobile technology. samsung is the world's biggest electronic company. ;) take a look at the wikipedia ;)
