i have using A30 almost few months already and fully satisfied. Just make sure update your firmware once got notification then your phone will be smoothly, if not some of the function may not funtioning properly. Still like A30 due to screen sharpness compare to A30s.

Picked up an A30 just a couple of months ago. The headphone stopped functioning. The service center at Spenser's Thiruvananthapuram Kerala, initially they did not want to extend support because their staff wanted to go home early. The initial statement was we only entertain walk in till 6pm whilst the samsung service center displayed time is upto 8pm. When we expressed our displeasure to them for not servicing or even willing to listen to our grievance. They finally had to hear a samsung customer when i started to dial the toll free to complain. Then they started dishing out the hassles one will have to undergo. 1. My mobile which has no issues need to be surrendered for 45 mins to an hour at least for their long process to be completed. Samsung Service team, your customer service sucks.. you have just produced one disgruntled, certainly unhappy customer. For a few hundred rupee stupid head set. Sorry but you are on your way out for sure.. It just left a dash taste today. Very disappointed customer.

The galaxy A30 is a good product, but it would be better if an update be released to be able to assign a 3rd party notification, for SMS notifications.

After update new patch, I do not find any significance difference is battery life. Even the performance is still same (good) as it was before update.

The October update issues, 1. WiFi doesn't work continuously, and dual band some times missing and can't be able to connect the internet. 2. sound is very low for phone calls, even dolby atoms sound effect is average. 3. Google apps crashes when we use continuously. (specially Google Chrome, map, play music and you tube). 4. battery drain quickly for internet browsing and online video calls. 5. Google apps are slow and battery drain quickly. These are my mobile issues, and i don't know for others. better you ask others opinion also. better you install the update, bcz it's good for your mobile to safe guard from online thread.

It's your friend's phone that doesn't have the noise cancellation working properly. It's supposed to filter out all the noise and transmit the voice alone to your phone, not the other way round.

lol mods please delete this comment. A30 is perfect, I was using a generic slow charger and the battery was depleted so it took longer to charge. I switched to its original Samsung fast adaptative charger and all fine. This is a beautiful phone, after the September 1st update it feels a bit laggy, I hope it gets fixed with regular use. Great phone I love it. Android 9 is a bit backwards but anyway it is what it is.

I'm taking about WiFi internet connection , not for mobile internet connection , the WiFi internet connection works only 10 min or 20 min continuously after that it's automatically stop working and again it's start to work. We can't work properly with this A30 mobile, the mobile internet works fine with 4G connection, but the main problem is WiFi firmware. I check the WiFi with *#0011# but it's shows no problems but again and again problems occurred. Samsung please rectify the WiFi issues and also pls rectify the sound issue also. Still we believe Samsung is best brand in the world.

If performance is everything for you, go for A30s as 720p display requires less processing power. But remember at the same time 1080p display is much more vibrant than 720p. The choice is upto you, "Performance or display?"

Hey guys maybe you can help me out: Just bought a Samsug A30, and it has a problem, it will charge very slowly, and battery drains fast. When I plug the charger it will say 19 hours to full charge. I followed a youtube video and wiped the partition cache and then in the phone app dialed *#9900# and turnes on Battery charge dump o something line that. Help I cant use my phone because of this. It wont update because it needs at least 20% to install the update

This phone is ABSOLUTELY GREAT! The screen is by far the best part of the phone. It has a FHD+ sAMOLED (6.4in) Infinity-U display. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are rich and dark and it just looks amazing! It has a 15W fast charger right out of the box which is great, and comes with a dedicated Standard TPU case, which also has a nice feel in the hand! The 16mp + 5mp camera is awesome and records great videos. Everyone should have this phone. But the one and ONLY one step back I have from this phone, is that the speaker grill doesn’t get as loud as I thought or even would like it to. It’s not a big problem though, still go for this phone if you can!

Better to do the factory reset and use it, then you feel better than previous experience. I also have the same issue but after factory reset the phone works fine. The reason for to do the factory reset is some unwanted apps may be install by the sales persons or retail stores. that's why when you purchase any mobile first we need to do the factory reset and use it. This advice I received from one of my Friend. Samsung Mobile is always best.

The phone has very poor camera when it comes to record video as during lowlight video turns out to be very dark you can literally see nothing, the back of the phone is very cheap,it catches scratches very quickly,I personally recommend buying the Redmi Note 7 it's hundred time better than this cheap samusung phone as Samsung has compromised so much on this phone as they've only invested i. the design.

I've been using this phone for a month and I gotta say... this phone rocks!!! For the past month I've been abusing this phone and pushing it to the limit. When I'm using it outside, I'll set the brightness level to 100% for hours. I've installed countless games and play it till the battery drained to 5% every single day. I was worried that this phone's screen might get burn-in since it's amoled but somehow, amidst the the abuse and all, it's still fine.

I have Xiaomi Redmi Note7 and later on bought a Samsung A30. Both phones for me are good and using them for almost 2 months now, they have almost the same price (766sr and A30 715sr). Redmi has a built-in call recorder that's why I prefer it as my daily driver. Whereas A30 has a very good amoled display and lighter in weight. With that price, Redmi w/ 128/4gb ram compared to 64/4gb ram of A30 as per their price. What I like in A30 also is the sim card tray that can accomodate 2 sims and memory as well. I really like the "Finder" apps of A30... If I have to choose between the 2 of them, I prefer the Redmi coz' it has better camera w/ image stabilization for video, eventhough it has no wide angle. By the way, It's my 1st time to comment here on GSM Arena and it's an honest opinion.☺

I clear the browsed data (settings > apps > chrome or any browser) after i use the browser (chrome, Samsung browser). If i browse internet more than 30 minutes with mobile data not WiFi (i don't have WiFi access), The battery also drain quickly (every 2minutes 1% decrease, but after 75% every minute 1% decrease). I change my sim for different operator also, finally i received same result.

Samsung A30 is avg performance. Bcz some main issues are, 1. The backed side (between camera and fingetprint) of the phone getting heat quickly when we use the chrome or any browser. 2. Sound quality is worse for phone calls. 3. Samsung widget icon disturb every time when we restart the device. 4. Privacy is average for One UI 1.1, Somany apps are running in background. 5. Every 7hours we need to recharge the phone, the battery drain quickly. Guys anyone have the above issues, Please reply.

When i clean the memory in device care some apps icon shows Experience 9.5 icons (Ex: massage, contacts, camera). Why experience 9.5 mixed with ONE UI 1.1 ? My galaxy A30 always heat when icontinuously use more than 45 minutes. Battery also drain quickly after factory rest. We need to carry the power bank with us. We're not satisfied with this phone performance. Next time I'm going to choose Moto.

I am using the redmi note 7 right now and I'm happy to say that it has not failed me. Excellent in pretty much every way. Also the only advantage a30 has is it's display. However, note 7 is faster than even a50 in some conditions so it's up to you.

I've owned thos phone for the past month so am going to judge it : The Performence is literally trash sometimes and slows down, making videos using instagram or snapchat is super slow and laggy, viewing stories on instagram is laggy af every thing slows down, you cannot use it for heavy multi tasking even tough it has an Octa Core processor and 4Go of ram, I think it needs a new software update. The only good thing about this phone is the Amoled Display. Otherwise, I really don t recommend this phone, i'd rather have a redmi note 7 or an Oppo F9 than this.

Ordered A30 from Samsung.com India site on Sep-4. I received a July manufactured phone. Within one day of use, the display went off and did not turn on.... I argued with Samsung Service Center for a new replacement, they denied. They opened and fixed something and said the problem is rectified.. They said that if the same problem repeats, then they will give brand new replacement... After one day of use, again the same problem recurred, Samsung Service Center issued DOA certificate and agreed to give brand new replacement.... I purchased A50 3 months back which is also an average phone.... Only problem in A50 is that the battery drains faster during idle even limiting the background processes..... I highly doubt that the current gen Exynos chipset are not great...... Samsung quality has gone really bad in the recent years.... J series and the original A series were much better in terms of quality..... Instead of multi cameras, let them provide one camera with great sensor.... Phones are becoming big and bulky... When every newgen chipset is delivering great power improvements (thats what been told during every new chipset launch), why should the battery size keep growing? If the display size is cut down to 5 to 5.5 inch, even the 3000 mah battery should long last with the quoted power improvements in the new chipset.......As the battery size increases the heat emission increases, please mind about it, which is same as eating too much sweets....

I've been using Samsung Galaxy A30 for almost 3months. Based on my experienced.... BUILD AND DESIGN: It is so Slim and Light that when I compared it to different phone on the same price ranged it really stand out on how Slim and Lighweight it is. DISPLAY: Nothing beats Samsung Amoled Panel Period. BATTERY: It has 4000mah even if it is Slimmer and Lightweight compared to other competitors. 15W tops up my phone in about an hour and 45 minutes. I only charge my phone once a day. I did an experiment where I use the phone straight until it dies out. And it lasted for about 10hrs (Mostly Playing Mobile Legends and Watching Youtube Korean Drams "KBS Five Enough", Instagram, Facebook, Browser, Reading GSM Arena News, Twitter, Customizing Homescreen Interface. With 30% Brightness, Location, Always on Display and Sync on.) PERFORMANCE: This where it loses to some competitors...... I think the performance is average but below average considering the price vs competitors. Overall the phone was snappy as long you don't run multiple heavy task like Heavy Games etc. CAMERA: Another department where it loses a bit to other competitors in Low Light Photos considering the price. Daylight Photos: are on par to other similar priced phone, it actually excels in Dynamic Range, Exposure, Excellent Edge Detection and Color Reproduction. But slightly losing to zoom Details Daylight Video: it also excels in Dynamic Range and Color Reproduction but Auto focus is somtimes slow. Daylight Selfies: This is where it Excels!!! Excellent Edge Detection, Color Reproduction (as long as beauty mode is off), Dynamic Range, Details and Exposure. Daylight Ultrawide: Ultrawide angle is a little bit underwheliming there is no lens correction so pictures are having some distortion. Details is also not good, that is a given because of low MP. Regardless, Dyanmic Range and Color Reproduction is Good. And ultrawide is a good feature to have. Night Photos, Selfie and Videos are average. But in extreme dark condition it is somewhat hit or miss. Especially when using Ultrawide it is totally a miss.

All the HUAWEI and NOKIA phones that you mentioned have slower internet speed, whether is download or upload or both. Xiaomi Redmi phones are cheaper but do not mean that the quality is not good and cannot compare with SAMSUNG and HUAWEI. Two things that I can confirm are the display of Xiaomi Redmi are better than HUAWEI and NOKIA and the internet speed is also faster than the two brands.

Motorola One Power is better, but are these your only options? You can get much better phones in this price. Realme 3 Pro, Realme X Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7 Plus Huawei P30 Lite, Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, Huawei Y9 2019 Honor 8X In fact, there are much cheaper phones that are better than these two phones: Honor 10 Lite and Realme 3. Redmi Note 6 Pro is another cheaper option but it doesn't have as strong quality as the two above.

Used this device for few month. Thing I hate about this device is the speaker One of the worst speaker I heard from a smartphone. It sounds terrible. Toggle mono audio makes it sounds much louder but still mediocre speaker output. Performance is decent. You can get much better performance from other budget phone from other brand. Only good things about this device are the display and software. It's difficult to get full HD super amoled display at this price point. Display looks punchy and viewing angles are great compared to my lcd pocophone. Software is great with android p. Nearly stock android but still not very optimised and switching apps felt choppy. If you value display and playing light games. This phone is still a great buy.

just tired it, no issues here what i use for test akg headset (the one that came with samsung galaxy s9+) samsung music (downloaded at google play store) latest firmware update via OTA tried playing different Music format mp3, m4a and flac. unlocking using finger print while the phone is is locked and playing music. i used both my index finger left and right, both are working fine.

Guys, I feel small issue with this A30. When I was connect the 3.5mm headset to listen songs, then that time when I unlock my phone with fingerprint then the fingerprint isn't work. I tried for 5 times to unlock my mobile but finally my mobile is lock and I wait for 1 min for countdown time finish. Finally i unlock with my pin code. For the rear camera you have to select the 4:3 aspect ratio to get 16mp. For the front camera, you need the same 4:3(or 3:4) and select the 2 person icon at the bottom to get the full 16mp, if you use the 1 person icon you get 11mp.

My past experience was with Huawei, Q-Mobile, Oppo in Past. I've purchased Samsung A30 with Android 9 a few days back. I always thought that Samsung is a good brand. This is my first experience with Samsung brand. But I'm very frustrated by using this Mobile due to following Problems. 1) The most stupid problem, I have ever seen is........ a) No builtin Call Recording function. b) No support for third party call recorders e.g ACR, True caller, Call Recorder etc. 2) Overall very lazy responses. 3) Frequent hanging-up during making & cutting calls. 4) Non-User-Friendly Functions. 5) Hard to read Fonts, Task Bar & Screen contrast etc. 6) Selection of Default Sim for Phone, SMS & Internet etc. 7) Unclear contacts having >1# (Without any detail). 8) No distinguished colour for Signals on Task bar. Simm-1 & Sim-2 is unpredictable due to same colour. I'm very disappointed from Samsung brand. Now this Mobile is not more than a scrap for me. Have this phone for few months now and for 200€ it's great. Batery life is amazing. It now has slow motion at 720p 4x, 8x slow mo is bit choppy and it crops im. They added front cam wide angle. It's not very wide but it's ok. I came from galaxy S7 and I'm more than pleased. Never had any problem and it's pretty responsive.

My heavy use apps are youtube, twitch and web browser, I don't like to play games with a touch screen and this is a relatively cheap phone with low end SoC. Heavy use for me is using those apps for about 5-6 hours per day over the course of 2 days, that's about 12 hours of use and the battery lasts a total of 48 hours. My typical use is about 3-4 hours per day, of my "heavy apps" over 3 days, obviously this also includes messaging(whatsapp), email (gmail and outlook) and sometimes actual phone calls. In my case, using it for more than 4 or 5 hours per day is rare, between work and my gaming pc at home.

ONE UI is better than Experience 9.5, but A30 one ui is consume much more ram (400mb) in background. so battery drain quickly. Then 4000mAh battery capacity isn't enough for A30. So many apps are running in background and consume more ram in A30. Then A30 available ram is 800mb out of 3.7GB ram (300 mb is reserved). so every 8 hours we need to charge our A30 mobile phone again and again, IF we charge our mobile phone like every 8 hours then A30 mobile battery will damaged then after one or two years later we can't use the A30. Then next step we need the another mobile phone, these all are business strategy. Note : Still I'm using Huawei Y625 for my daily use (without change the battery or any other parts) I brought in 2015 July now almost 4 years. A30 is my second phone. so my question is whether A30 also will support like Huawei Y625?.

I was using a HUAWEI phone (both HUAWEI and HONOR are using same UI, that is EMUI) before I change to SAMSUNG Galaxy A30. I did a factory reset on the HUAWEI phone. How can you confirm that it is a software issue but not a hardware issue? Even it is a software issue and need a software update to fix it, you should go to SAMSUNG Members app to report the problem, or go to the service center, maybe they already has the update to fix your problem.

RedMi Note 7 is better than SAMSUNG Galaxy A30 just in the SoC only. Note 7 is still using a 10W charger and IPS display. Galaxy A30 already give a 15W fast charger and a brilliant Super AMOLED display.

Guys A30 is Mid range category, so we can't expect A70 features and performance in galaxy A30. My opinion is A30 great for money. it's working extra ordinary and excellent. Basically Samsung cover all the essential things in this phone. (Ex: Battery, Display, Internet speed and camera). my final suggestions are , if Samsung gives Android OS updates (like Nokia) for this mobile then this mobile is great. and Samsung please increase WiFi download speed and decrease Mobile data speed, because we can't pay high amount for our mobile data for every month. From what I've seen in YouTube: 1. 4K video is supported but you require a third party app 2. Face unlock may not work in low light, as it uses the front camera, unlike other phones such as Poco F1 which uses IR sensor 3. No notification light, but there is an Always On Display (AOD) 4.

The GPS will depend heavily on the weather during the time you are using the app. If the weather is a sunny day without many clouds, then it can perform good. If there are many clouds or raining day, then it is not accurate. This will happen to all of the phone, including SAMSUNG, HUAWEI, HONOR, oppo, vivo and even Apple too.

I faced similar issue today while using mobile data and gps. The dot flickered for a while on top left of the screen and disappeared after a while. It happened outdoors, the temperature according to google was 35C at that time.

The white dot is just an indication for fast access to some apps. You an go to settings to disable it. Nothing to worry about

Just got this for $194 & it's worth the price. I like this phone as it has a flat screen unlike the edge screens on the S-series, cameras are a mixed bag, take great pics in well lit conditions but somewhat suffer in low lights but overall I'm quite happy with the result considering it's price, battery life is great with fast charging, super amoled screen is impressive the speaker volume could've been louder though. All in all it's a good budget phone.

I haven't tried the video yet but took lots of pics with the main camera & wide angle lens which turned out to be great in daylight & indoors as far as low light shots are concerned they're acceptable but not great you can't write them off completely as it's a mid range device. Overall my one day experience with the A30 has been good as this phone (according to the price) has a wide angle lens, light weight it's a good looking phone with fast charging latest OS etc. I like this phone.

I haven't particularly used face tagging feature, but palm over screen for screenshots, if you are referring to palm swipe to capture screen then it works perfectly for me, as I regularly take screenshots and am using this feature since the day I bought this phone a month ago. Been using this phone since last month and I'm actually pretty happy with this phone overall. It's did has a pretty slow processor but it's enough for basic usage like Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and some light gaming. The camera is pretty great in good lighting but it's weakest point is in low light, it's basically impossible to get good low light photo in this phone. But overall this phone is great if you're not into very heavy task

I'm a heavy user & phone lasts 1 day per charge. That is what you want from a 4000mah phone. It takes between 90mins to 2hrs to fully charge. Be aware of "unknown" apps that's not downloaded from Play Store. Overall - storage of 64GB (expandable), RAM 4GB, good performance, processor is fast, daylight photos are good, excellent battery & fast charging. I recommend this phone.

Its fine, just be concious of the apps you use and install, and how you set them up. You can check the review for the questions you're asking, but, I think you can get a full day of actual use with one charge(in my case I get about 10 hours of use over 3 days), the camera is ok - you should check the review for actual samples and the phone comes with a 15W battery charger, I takes about 2hrs to charge.

Check if anything is syncing in the background (Google accounts, especially). Turn off GPS and make sure no app is running when it shouldn't. You can also try clearing the phone's cache from Recovery. This last step usually clears other issues too. If the drain still persists, download GSAM battery monitor and let it run for a few days, and make sure it has all the needed permissions. It will help you figure out what may be causing the drain.

A really nice phone. Actually it's the reason i started to play games on a phone. Nice OLED Screen, good WiFi signal quality, the camera is somewhat bad in low light, battery holds up for 2 days on an average use. After i disabled/removed the google and samsung crapware and installed a mandatory access control i felt like home. Also no overheating issues (as reported by some people) and i play PUBG quite often. Maybe people should stop puting crapapps on their phone, use audited, non-google open source applications.

The phone is fine, it has a really good display and good battery life, I've had it for a month and it works great, battery lasts almost 3 full days with 1-3 hours of use each day(web browser/youtube/twitch) + some phone/mail/message stuff. No Hangs, no lag and no heating issues. I disabled or uninstalled apps I don't use like facebook and I try avoid apps with ads. If I remember correctly I couldn't disable or remove facebook from the Apps settings in the phone but the play store had the option to uninstall it.

Yep, you are correct, I later found out from someone who commented on my post in another thread that, the CPUZ app is recognizing the latest 7904 chipset as the older 7885 chipset. Maybe the app software needs to be updated by the developer. All the Samsung official websites mention it as 7904 though.

Looks like 7885 is better than 7904, even though it's one year older chip-set. Just google the differences between these two chip-sets, you will get the idea. There is one advantage in 7904 though, that is with the camera setup, but it all depends on the phone which is using this chip-set whether it is using the full potential of the chip-set or not.

I also come from Malaysia and I am using U Mobile prepaid GX30 unlimited data. Previously I also used HUAWEI midrange phone with 4G. Now I am using SAMSUNG Galaxy A30 with 4G+. I have purchased this mobile 10 days back and I am loving it. Fast charge is working fine and the Super AMOLED screen is incredible. With adaptive brightness it looks wonderful even under direct sunlight. I have noticed one big issue though, when I click on settings in the camera app, the camera settings screen disappears within 2 seconds, which means, I am unable to access any of the camera settings that are present on the camera settings screen. Though I don't use camera very often, it is a glaring glitch in the software of this mobile. Other than the above issue, the phone is perfectly fine. I got the blue color one and I love the shade of this blue colored phone, it feels rustic and classy. And I love the system wide dark mode option. Battery is good and lasts one and a half day with my moderate to light heavy use. I don't play much of games though.

Check your connections like bluetooth, w i f i, mobile data etc. Turn them off when not in use. Also a brightest display consumes much battery. As of your heating, check your games and running apps in the background.

i bought the A30 early May, 2019. it sometimes suddenly hanged and you wont be able to do anything on the phone. Later, it shows "System UI isn't responding" or Phone UI not responding. i can only get it to work after resetting. I took it to Slot Lagos, Nigeria and was informed that it is a software problem. I too can get 3 days if I make sure too turn off battery eaters like GPS, 4g phone data, bluetooth, basically any connection or location device. Also using the nightmode theme. Also the screen is about 650 nits, which is WAY to bright for required use inside. I use about 25% brightness indoors and switch to adaptive brightness outside. its all about how you manage the phone But insane amount of juice from a 4000mah battery.

Wow I feel like I stole it at this price. The SAMOLED is as good as the s10e model but even bigger. It looks amazing. And there are options to not just change your prefered "mode" (ie Movie), but even the ability to control colour levels. For the money its worth it just for the screen. Yes you can buy similar priced chinese phones with slightly better processing power but their screens are lame in comparison. As for performance, as long as you disable the battery saving option that throttles the hardware by 20% you really cant complain for the price. Is it an S10+ no, but its 1/5th the price and if having a quality viewing experience is key to you its a no brainer. It has plenty of ram left over, 2GB, but if like my phone you remove a lot of bloatware I increased this to 2.5GB, which is plenty for the average user. Are the cameras as good as the SD855 S10+? No, again you paid 1/6 tp 1/5th the price. Do they get the job done? Yes. They take perfectly adequate photos for the internet and even the 5MB wide angle is plenty good enough for Instagram etc. Keep in mind its using a low power exynos CPU, if you keep your expectations for gaming etc in check and buy the phone for its SAMOLED, you will not be dissapointed. That is my opinion.

My A30 has the best battery life of any phone i have owned. With moderate usage I am getting 3 days of battery and 9-10 hours of screen on time. GPS is perfect, no issues. I heard some other users had issues with GPS but it was fixed with last month's update. It's not the fastest phone for heavy gaming but I dont play any games. The few small games I tested worked perfectly with no lag.

I think the best is way the pros and cons for yourself. The A30 has a bigger battery, the latest Android version, USB Type C, and an ultra wide sensor which the A6 Plus doesn't have. The A6 Plus has a metal build as opposed to plastic, and is notch free and has a 24mp selfie camera v 16 on the the A30. The A30 launches with Android 9 but the A6 Plus gets it through an update which is the last major one, so no Android Q for the A6 Plus but you definitely get Android Q on the A30 so pick your poison. Oh and the A30 is cheaper, at least in my country, I don't know about yours

Actually, this changes from person to person. Some prefer more accurate colors while some prefer punchier colors (This doesn't mean colors are way off on AMOLEDs). On IPS panels, there is back light and it gets visible on dark colors. However, AMOLED screens doesn't have back lightning, it controls pixels individually therefore it can turn them off when the screen shows black color. In short, AMOLED panels consume less energy than IPS panels especially on dark colors and black (AMOLEDs may consume more energy than IPS on white, though. Also, AMOLED doesn't have the best whites). And when this combines with the low 720p resolution, this will increase the battery life noticeably. In addition to this, lower screen resolution lowers the load on SoC and this will help the chipset on gaming. 720p is enough is daily use (I have a J7 2015 and it has a 720p SuperAMOLED panel. I haven't noticed any kind of problem with the low screen resolution). On the other hand, AMOLEDs may fail on long term and they are more prone to burn-in problems (It happened to none of my phones. Burn-in issue was common with old sAMOLED panels but not that common today.) I would go for a 720p screen regardless of type. I would prefer sAMOLED over IPS (This is my opinion).

Apart from the cameras, both of them are almost the same. They have almost identical SoCs (7884 vs 7904, 2x A73 and 6x A53 cores on both, Mali G71-MP2 GPU on both) but the CPU of A20 is downclocked compared to A30 (1.8 Ghz vs 1.6 for A73, 1.6Ghz vs 1.35 Ghz for A53 cores). Battery capacity is the same. Thanks to the lower screen resolution, A20 will have better battery endurance and be better for games (You can use Samsung Game Tuner to lower screen resolution on games, though. In this case, they are equal on gaming performance). In addition to these, A20 is cheaper. On the other hand, A30 has better cameras and a higher-res screen.

Good device for the price. Great battery, normal usage last for two days. But heats a bit especially when wifi tethered from 4g network. Appreciate the 2 sim slots and card slots as I want it. Performance wise acceptable (3.8), but camera seem to be over saturated. Less bloat ware. do not enable power mode, its really very annoying. Hope Samsung would add scheduled power down and up on their next update.

First of all, the Exynos 7904 is not a high end processor like the Snapdragon 800 series, more of like a midrange processor. For those who value high quality gaming experience, this phone can manage to run those games but not smoothly as it should be compared to better chipsets. I think I'm quite disappointed by this but for the price, it's a go-to-buy device to go for. Also the software can be appreciated cause its running Samsung's One UI and you'll be pleased by how updated this device is. For those who value aesthetics, this phone cannot go well because of its glass like plastic body, compared to aluminum frame of Nokia. But otherwise, those full screen display with the teardrop-like notch gives a lot of definition but it gives the phone a hard time for one hand due to its huge screen. I think they should release a smaller version of the phone for those users who are not comfortable with this.

For the price the phone is pretty good, I bought de 4gb version and runs smooth, the screen is beatiful, the face recognition is fast and the fingerprint reader is fast too, the battery last a good amount of time. the regular camera is decent but the wide camera is bad compared to the s10. People get confuse, A30 using base board 7885 with 7904 cpu, if you check using cpu-z it only show board model 7885 but not cpu, try download AIDA64, go to cpu, you will see SoC model 7904

Using the a30 model 305G on AT&T in the USA. The LTE is fully compatible, and set up was standard. Coming from a Motorola G4 Plus, the phone is similar in speed(a bit faster), and has a gig more ram. The screen is incredible for the price. I mean incredible. Literally flagship quality. As for negatives, I've heard about GPS issues, but uave had none. The big con, the Facebook app comes preinstalled. There is no way to delete it, and paid apps are required to fully disable facebook ad services. For me this is no different than my Moto, which came loaded with every amazon app ever. If you're in the US looking for a budget phone, that still feels modern. It's this or the Nokia 4.2, even that has Micro USB and Blutooth 4.2, vs the a30's USB-C and Bluetooth 5.0.

I bought mine in the Philippines. So far, my phone is doing good. There are no GPS issues, no lags and bugs. Gaming is fine but I haven't tried high graphic games yet. Camera is okay. Not the best, but is reasonable for the price. The display is quite bright. My brightness is always less than 1/4 in normal room lighting. Battery is awesome. It'll last you a day with moderate to heavy usage and more than a day with light to moderate usage.

Gps has great issues , detects location just initially but then fails to refreshes making navigation impossible, maps keep saying "gps signal lost" Other navigation software than google maps show the same malfunction so i believe the problem is probably hardware All calibrations and software updates or safemode failed to resolve the issue (EGYPT 64 4GB bought 10/4)

Today received new update in Pakistan with April security patch, camera fix and for device stability. Device is much smooth now and working fast. I think think this device amongst gew devices getting updates rapidly. Good samsung. Hopefully in next update device will be more nifty as Samsung knows how to optimize own built chips with their android skins.

Further chipset is capable, screen is great, camera is good. For day to day task its quite a good phone with good speed.gps is already working fine. I am a regular user of careem and uber.battery is supurb.if you want more you have to pay more. If you want flagship experience, you need to go for s and note series. I was used to on chinese OEM's but after getting samsung the experience is quite good and the main reason is crunchy amoled display.

My company bought 5 unit A30 for food delivery rider use to navigate customer side using waze or google map, then we realised the gps is so terrible ,it takes more than one minute to receive a signal, even after the signal came, the gps is not moving at all when my car is moving or jump to random location, not accurate very unusable. I update the phone to lastest software, i did all the customer support told me to do (clear cache , restart phone, reset.. blabla...) the problem still exist. I went to service center told them the problem and they were doing some software and give back to me and i send it back to them because the problem still there, then they replace the phone for me after 2 weeks AND THE PROBLEM STILL THERE LOL. After that they were blaming the service providers regarding this problem. Even they doesn't know how to resolve it. After the hopeless samsung service support, I seacrh around the forum and community for help, i see many ppl is talking about the same gps issue. GUYS IF GPS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU DONT BUY THIS PHONE

It's not the same processor! The A50 has a slightly better Exynos 9610 made on (10nm) 4 cores at 2.3Ghz A73 and 4-core 1.7Ghz A53 vs. A30 Exynos 7904 made on (14nm) 2 cores 1.8Ghz A73 and 6 cores 1.6Ghz A53

I installed CPU-Z in my phone it shows Exynos--7885 but it is suppose to be Exynos--7904 anyone else having this problem.

How slow is the processor of A30. Isn't it same processor as A50??

Well the processor isn't the fastest in his segment,but it is good in everyday use and can pubg on medium,which is good for 230$ phone (64-4gb configuration)

It has proximity sensor check samsung webpage,also gps isn't terrible,It took a few seconds (like 10-15 secs) to get a fix indoors.

Pros: - Very good camera; main and selfie - A wonderful Super amoled screen - small notch - The One UI - the look f the mobile Cons: - no proximity sensor, you should touch the area to close the screen during calls - Slight lag overall in the mobile, and especially when you call someone - GPS and navigation is very very terrible, it takes more than one minute to receive a signal, and sometimes you must restart the phone to work - the finger print sensor is not that very fast - the speaker sound is not high
